Unfortunately, I do not have a pattern to give you, but I do have a way for you/your friend to draft your own.

(If you really do just want a ready pattern, I'm pretty sure my #binding stays or #flattening stays tags include some etsy shops that have binders with corsetry methods)

I'm presuming you are here because that 5 year old post of the binder with elizabethan stays method is going around again (left). I've also since made a pair of stays that flatten nicely as well (right).

The left pattern was drafted with the free Custom Corset Pattern Generator from elizabethancostume.net. You just input a little extra breathing room in the waist and the bust measurement you can comfortably squish your chest down to.

However, that was many years ago and I have since had more success using a Mariah Pattie's circular drafting technique. It has so much less measuring and math and it gave me a better fit.

Here's my post on that technique, along with her video.

And here's my post amending that to a binder instead of stays.

In short, all you need is:

a large piece of paper

a string

a pen

a measuring tape and

the measurement of your waist circumference

the measurement of your chest bound down circumference

the measurement of the vertical distance between your waist and chest.

You draw out the pattern following the video + my explanation post (this takes me about 30 minutes vs the hour or two for drafting the usual way). Then I make it longer with a cm or two at the bottom and at least 3 cm on top. One change I've made since that post was to pinch out a little dart at the arms to make it lie smoother under clothes. One day I'm going to experiment with adding straps to this design, but today is not that day.

I kept mine quite low, because I wanted a 18th century round chested look, but with straps and longer stays you could probably go flatter (depending on how much you have to flatten of course).

This is what it looks like under a waistcoat tailored according to a menswear manual:

i'll also drop here the posts of other people who've I've talked about their binders using corsetry and tailoring methods: horsehair canvas summer binder, there's another one about how convenient ribbons are for easy adjustment but i can't find it (EDIT: found it!)

John is never in his office in the watchtower as he always ends up found and forced to deal with things when he is there. Today is no different only it is Batman that shows up at his door. He is sorely tempted to hide under his desk and pretend to not have seen Batman at the door. Only Spooky probably knows he is there and will just track him down. A deep sigh and regret about not being allowed to smoke in the watchtower he gets up and unlocks the door.

That, he was not expecting that. Batman standing in the doorway to his office with an armful of cats. Two adults, one young cat just out of kittenhood, and a little kitten. The largest cat, ginger tom with a torn up ear and white blaze, glares and growls at him. The other placid adult cat, looks like a one of those fancy gray leopard spotted ones, just bats at the first and chirps happily. The younger black cat dangles from Batman's arms and gives John that judging look only cats can pull off. The kitten is a tiny cinnamon coloured thing puffed up in adorable fury with seething green eyes.

"Fix them." Batman say.

John has the dawning horror that he begins to recognizes the cats the longer he looks at them.

really sad that miraculous were just handed out all at once (ex: penalteam) because i did imagine that each miraculous and their quality would have actually been a lesson/ideal about the world that marinette learned along the way in order to understand the guardianship better. yk kids show, lets have episodic plotlines where the main character learns a lesson to teach the kids at home but via miraculous. through picking someone that embodies OR struggles with a certain trait, she could see how that person uses that value to shape their reality. for example, lila and alya both using the fox have different ideas of illusions; lila creates illusions of her success to make herself interesting versus alya's focus on reporting and breaking through illusions. those are different perspectives on the same value and can both be useful depending on the scenario. or how does mylene interpret the mouse miraculous differently compared to marinette? is there a different perspective to be had that marinette didn't think about when she used it? would love marinette learning more about the miraculous through her friends and their worldviews. alas, they use the miraculous to play soccer. can season 6 have lila (or whoever her name is) make an akuma that forces ladybug and the brady bunch into a socratic seminar for me

a cool and fun quirk of kieflos mutual obsession with eachother is that they both place eachother as inherently above or inherently below themselves.

kieran warps florian into a nebulous challenge to defeat, an objective that he is unable to truly measure any progress in, only constantly reach higher and higher in hopes to achieve it, thereby positioning her as inherently 'above' himself.

florian warps kieran into a powerless tragic figure that she, as the hero of the story, is supposed to save. to fix. in this process he disregards any personal agency that kieran has, placing him as inherently 'below' herself.

and then when the swordfight happens and blahblah blah kieran stabs florian!!! which is symbolic of the playing field leveling after its been tilted to one side for so long. kieran achieves his goal of defeating florian, therefore dispelling the illusion of the unbeatable challenge and florians symbolically fatal injury by kierans hands means he no longer views kieran as a powerless character but someone on the same level as him
