I realize I am definitely out of the loop of any interpersonal beef that is probably nuts in this fandom on here and I’m happy to stay out of that loop based on how I saw it happen in my last one

Karlach and Infernal War Machines (!Spoilers for Descent into Avernus!)
okay so, you know how in the Descent into Avernus book, there's an entire section on how players can obtain a war rig, and even customize it? after playing BG3, i wanted to brush up on everything these things could do again, and uh
wow. i'm thinking zariel might have gotten the better end of the deal, given that gortash seems to have walked away with just the understanding to make the steel watchers. don't get me wrong, the watchers are a terrifying concept and an absolute pain to deal with in combat, but compared to infernal war rigs? it could have been so much worse.
Tumblr media
(the vehicles above are respectively labelled as "devil's ride," "demon grinder," "scavenger," and "tormentor.")
the four models in appendix b of the book provide the base templates for vehicles players can encounter, and potentially acquire. upgrades that players can obtain include, but are not limited to:
flamethrowers!
acid sprayers!
harpoons!
car platting that will steal your soul!
optional audio system that will give other drivers psychic damage
on one hand, i can see Karlach having complicated feelings towards the machines. they run on same engine tech, and at the end of the day, are functionally indistinguishable in terms of Zariels' crusade: a specialized weapon that runs on the souls of the damned. they're just the step before her, then onto the steel watchers. not to mention the warlords that typically use these things are just as bad as anything else raising hell in avernus.
on the other hand, if karlach has to wait for her heart surgery in literal hell, she should at least get a hell tank with a rocket launcher in the mean time. y'know, as a treat.

Have you ever heard of or played an official rezero mobile game called Lost in Memories? The game features a story that is a retelling of the anime and it also divided into 3 chapters: "Main Story","Ver. Main Story" and "IF Route". The game features branching paths that lead Subaru to a different outcome of the story, turning into a "What IF" scenario.
But what intrigued me the most was arukoru, a character who looks exactly like suabru, but is much more cold and heartless and supposedly comes from the failed loop  where subaru had tried to defeat Petelgeuse. It's really interesting and refreshing for me to see a different version subaru not from those if routes of canon novel series, and I really like arukoru's characterization and identity, but it's a shame that he's barely mentioned and discussed in either Japanese or Western fanbase.
ANON IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED BC FROM WHAT IVE SEEN OF LOST OF MEMORIES IM QUITE FOND OF IT (though i dont know everything oops T^T) AND ALSO IM QUITE FOND OF ARUKORU/ALCOR. ALMOST NO ONE TALKS ABOUT HIM SO I KIND OF HALF THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNEW ABOUT HIM ALJSFLJS
but yes. i sadly have not played lost in memories and i have not watched Every Second of it unfortunately hah but!!! the branching paths it has are very interesting <3 and alcor is definitely very interesting to me, even though i dont know every detail on him. and okay for anyone seeing this and doesnt know who alcor is, you can have a picture of him:
Tumblr media
look at him with his thigh highs and galaxy sword fr............. what a guy.....
i think like a year or two ago i actually made like a small drawing redesigning his mask just bc i didnt like it lajsdlfjd. i love the jagged purple "scar" in the mask and the black feathers and the piercing eye but it does not look very visually appealing to me. imo. so i think i redesigned it to be like a skeleton mask of a ground dragon (and yeah one of the eyes had that jagged scar still) to still incorporate the white + feathers? and also bc he seems to be using similar looking skeletons in this photo for reasons i dont know?? is that his power?? but anyway yeah. otherwise i think his design is kind of. a banger? just a bit HAH.
anyway so. yeah like what anon said - alcor's another version of subaru thats turned out this way bc hes from a failed timeline where he tried to fight and defeat petelgeuse and he died like. Way too much. but also alcor is like?? an "illusion" at the same time?? created by this purple haired elf lady?? who was in turn created by this green haired elf lady whos teamed up with subaru to help him recover his memories bc "lost in memories"?? okay if anyone knows the full story behind this please feel free to explain if youd like aljdflsjdf. but i think its interesting seeing - you know, another version of subaru appear in the "main story". like i think alcor is kind of similar to amnesiabaru in this lense - iirc alcor seems to insist that hes the real one, but its kind of. tragic. bc hes kind of not the real one at the same time, if he really is an "illusion"?????? but also he IS another version of subaru, one that grew cold and empty and jaded. hes so Tired, i just kind of. pity him.
i considered using him for a fic once aljdsfljs along with using some other slightly more obscure / underrated versions of subaru (such as aganau subaru yeah) but that fic never got off the ground iirc but yeah. i think hes interesting and definitely another way to explore like. a version of subaru that has a complicated relationship with subaru. like not just HIMSELF, but you know - MAINBARU. its interesting, i think, that hes defensive. that he seems to have this chip in his shoulder. and hes definitely rough at the edges bc his whole design shows that - not just in like an edgelord way bc of all the black and purple lajsdlfj (and even then its a fun contrast to his normal black/white/yellow color scheme) but theres the bandage on his arm, the mask, the name change (alcor), the when he takes off the mask, theres dark circles under his eyes. dude is tired and i think hes distant from himself too bc hes, well. Alcor now - not entirely subaru.
and also yeah he died a shit ton of times to petelgeuse.... poor dude. needless to say i am a big fan of all versions of subaru and his many flavors of Identity Issues.
Live Mindful of Death (死を意識して生きる Shi o ishiki shite ikiru): Live Mindful Of Death is a second Authority which allows Alcor to recreate or force changes in the timeline after his death if it does not end how he wants it to end. He can alter events or prevent possible situations which can completely change the timeline to his liking. This even works on realms where time is non-existent. The change during a reset are strong enough to bring back the world after it's destruction and revive or recover anyone no matter their condition.
Memories: For some unknown reason, anyone who has some intense bond or connection with Alcor will slightly remember past iterations of the timeline before it is reset, similar to Deja Vu. Though knowledge is limited, it can help them predict future events which is extremely useful to any allies of Alcor as they can predict what will happen next, unless the timeline was changed far different from it's previous incarnation. It can also be used in a fight to throw of his opponent by using an attack they didn't predict or fighting in a way he hadn't done before.
Penalties: The butterfly effect of Alcor's reset is completely out of his control. This means that any changes Alcor's Authority produces can be manipulated, what happens beyond said time is completely unknown. Future events could happen entirely differently after he changes the timeline and nothing like his prediction. He would have to use the ability again if he wished to change the timeline to his preference.
^^^ ALSO REZERO WIKI SAID THAT ALCOR HAS THIS ABILITY??? IS THIS REAL??? THATS KIND OF. TERRIFYINGLY INTERESTING?? LIKE THIS KIND OF POWER IS INSANE GODDAMN.... CAN YOU IMAGINE THE BUTTERFLY EFFECTS THIS WOULD HAVE....?????

It's Morbidly Curious. I've got a bit of a disturbing question-slash-theory for Twilight and Sky.
We know that the oocca are descended from the Skyloftians. We also know that, by Twilight's time, loftwings are extinct. However, in the City in the Sky in Twilight's time (as well as most places on the surface, but that's a topic for another day) there are kargaroks.
Seems pretty obvious to me that the kargaroks are most likely the descendants of the loftwings that somehow wound up corrupted after being abandoned by the hylians. They have the same general build, and in Wind's time they have feathers, which leads to them looking almost exactly like the loftwings. Twilight's actually ridden a couple of kargaroks, so we know they're capable of withstanding a hylian's weight (I'm assuming that Wolfie plus M-lady equals or is greater than the average hylian weight) without ceasing flight. Again, sounds a lot like a loftwing.
Tho oocca, however, stump me. Either those remaining in Skyloft eventually evolved naturally into tiny cucco-like creatures, or they started marrying their loftwings in order to diversify the gene pool. It's a little strange that I see the second possibility as the more likely of the two.
So, Twilight. Sky. Do you think any of those theories could be the case, or do I need to go back over some things?
Twilight: Based off of what Sky's told me about Loftwings, that theory has merit.
Sky: It does, just one thing. People say that when Skyloft rose into the sky, the Goddess sent Loftwings to be our guides or protectors. Why would they begin to attack those they where made to protect?
Twilight: A lot of reasons, probably. Maybe they got corrupted at time when on. Maybe they jus' grew to be more aggressive.
Sky: ...
Sky: I'm just going to say that they are completely separate entities from each other. Also I don't want to even touch on the Oocca, those things are freaky.
Twilight: Good call.

Hey so I was thinking about the seemingly separate disease, insect, and fire motifs that keep popping up, like Agnes burning the man she kissed, Jane Prentice, the diseased ant man, and the hive all making the same smell when they burned, the mosquitos that somehow ended up with all the diseases, the human spider colony, and Hilltop Road having connections to Agnes, Raymond Fielding, spiders, and that table. It's a bit worrying that the first season finale was like "yeah! we defeated worm woman! time for the spiders and mosquitos." And also Mike. I don't really have any theories here, there's just a lot going on. Also, the purchases Jon found on Gertrude's laptop only make me think that the archives are woefully unprepared for whatever's coming, probably like a diseased insect fire tornado or something else ridiculously overpowered to further traumatize the archivists. I just listened to the field hospital statement, the one with the restless man, and I feel like something very big is coming very soon and I just have to sit back and listen.

You know it’d be really funny (funny stupid not funny haha) if with all the promo for season 2 of Halo there’s only like 2 episodes for the fall of reach and the rest of it is actually just combat evolved the tv show.

3, for the fanfic ask game 👀
[from this meme]
3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?
Okay, well, I'd be lying if I didn't say 'someone who does not have superhuman abilities in canon somehow acquires superhuman abilities'. Between that one and 'a character undergoes a monstrous transformation', I think you've just described my entire bibliography.
Also, 'crossovers/fusion AUs you never would have thought of/never would have expected to work', 'crossover femslash', 'fraught central sibling relationships', and 'romantic triads'.
ETA: Oh! Also, 'weird identity shit' and 'vampires'.

Also guys you all need to go and bully @val-of-the-north , he kept nudging me to go find items needed for the quest of Dung Eater and urged me to interact with him all like "omg Kat his questline is so funny" and "he is such a hilarious character, you are missing out on not wanting to see what he is about" and "Kat you need to do that just for completion of game experience" when he KNOWS I am morbidly curious and have lacking ability to stop even after realizing what I've gotten myself into -_-
I actually HAD to stop after giving him one (1) seedbed curse because my dinner started to SERIOUSLY ask to go outside, but anyways, as much as I appreciate Fromsoft being gigachads for showing not only sympathetic rebels against Golden Order but also whatever the fuck this thing is, Val can't be forgiven and he is no longer my pogchamp and no longer my emotional support Italian 💀💀😠💀🤬🌛
P.S: Guys don't do his questline if you never had nor you had it spoilered in details. Just take the word of people that say this is the worst thing Fromsoft ever written and move.

Ah. I forgot how much W.olverine and the X-M.en is just "Misogyny With Mutants!" The women in this show are nerfed so hard and made mockeries of themselves. Kitty's reduced to JUST her phasing and doesn't contribute anything other than that: not her fighting skills, not her genius computer knowledge, nothing. And her tech knowledge is given to Bobby instead, for some reason. R.ogue only has her absorption powers, which, fine, I guess; they didn't want to have to go through the whole thing with Carol, but come on.
Jean's missing for the first half of the season and has amnesia for a large part of it later (if I remember correctly, which I might not, but STILL), Wanda's just a pawn for her dad, S.torm gets one episode where she does something interesting and it's when she's being controlled by the S.hadow K.ing and almost destroys Africa.
E.mma F.rost is the only female character who gets to do basically anything. Her character and design is actually interesting, and it's admittedly fun to see her in action.
But other than that......., a lot of the designs are questionable, at best, and a lot of the changes don't make sense or are just.....bad. Like...., even taking away all of the stuff I know from the comics and just viewing it on its own...., this particular interpretation just Does Not Like Women.

Hol' up, if my theory is right and we do see the SMverse version of hell in SM6, we might get an appearance (and possibly a name reveal by way of the credits) of a certain unpleasant someone from SM2. Thoughts?
Ohhhhhh god-
Tbh considering how some people are speculating zombie Patty I was thinking about your theory from a couple months back of Roy having to deal with a zombified version of his uncle
At this point I fully expect we'll be seeing that bastard again eventually
