Ok how about the boys ?
Tumblr media
the first character i ever fell in love with: somehow, billy. he was so suave and badass and i love his accent so i got manipulated right alongside my boy hughie 😓
a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: hmm idk. does the deep count? i saw nate archibald and immediately fell in love, then fell out of love literally 2 mins later. sharpest 180 of my life
a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: becca and billy. oh how i wanted to believe in them and root for them. i think the actors pulled off a real miracle in making them semi-sweet. it was just clearly not a healthy relationship in any way (which makes sense because billy is involved). and the fact that becca was barely a character doesn't help at all.
my ultimate favourite character™: homelander. i'm sorry 😭 also i know this category asks for only one character but do you really expect me to not include hughie and maeve? i am obsessed with all three of them okay
prettiest character: this might be the hardest one yet because all the girls on this show are gorgeous!! but for me it's a tossup between annie and kimiko
my most hated character: i hate stormfront. and i think that's fantastic because duh, she's a villain. aya cash really knocked it out of the park. she was just so disturbing every time she was on screen. i hate the deep too, but he's someone the audience can at least laugh at, whereas stormfront was menacing for her entire run. her whole character is based around nazism so there are no redeeming qualities there.
my OTP: i'm not super invested in any of the ships on this show. i would say i enjoy butcher and hughie the most but i just love their dynamic in general, not necessarily in a romantic context.
my NOTP: homelander and stormfront GET IT AWAY FROM MEEE. their scenes were so hard to watch god
favourite episode: 1.02 !!! this episode is just perfect there are no negative things i can say about it. one day i'll make a post listing all the reasons i love it as much as i do
saddest death: lucy :( in all seriousness none of the deaths have really made me sad yet. i probably liked stillwell the most and her death was kind of horrific but she was the Worst so i didn't cry about it. maybe robin ?? i think they did a great job of characterizing her in under five minutes. i also love ryan and i think he is the sweetest child ever so i'll say becca too, just for how much it will haunt him.
favourite season/least favourite season: i really liked both seasons so far, even though they had different strengths and weaknesses. i've only watched the show twice so i think i need to rewatch before i pick a favourite.
character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: i don't hate him, but lamplighter. the actor seems like a nice dude but i genuinely cannot see why he is so loved in the tumblr fandom? i think he had potential though
my 'you're a piece of trash, but you're still a fav' fav: i already talked abt homelander so i'm going to say a-train. he can keep murdering people and i'll happily cheer him on. also stillwell, ashley, and neuman
my 'you're a beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this' fav: hughie, MM, annie. all three are baby
my 'this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it' ship: butchie i suppose? but i think they're on track to developing a healthy relationship. hopefully
my 'they're kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i'm not too invested' ship: hughie and annie! they're soft but i don't care much for them. also frenchie and kimiko (might be my most unpopular opinion lol). i started off really loving them but as time went on frenchie's entire character began to revolve around kimiko and i hate that. i think he's so sweet with her, but i love them as individuals first, and that's what i want to see more of. (kimiko hasn't latched on to him in the same way so i don't have any complaints for her.) thankfully it looks like they addressed that in the second season so hopefully frenchie’s character doesn’t continue being sidelined to further the pairing.

what did you like and not like from season 2 of Euphoria? I cant stand the fact we didnt get to see how Maddie dealt with the trauma Nate no doubt gave her from the gun/cd scene. The scene felt traumatizing to watch and then the show act like it never happened?????????
Anonymous asked:
what did you think of the euphoria season 2 finale?
Anonymous asked:
THE EUPHORIA FINALE WAS SO GOOD PLS LETS TALK ABT IT
Anonymous asked:
What did you think of the Euphoria season finale?
Sorry it took me a while to answer this, but hopefully by now everyone has seen the finale. I liked the finale overall. I think it did a good job of setting up the storylines in season 3, which seemed to be its main goal. I liked that through Lexi's play, we got to see a version of Rue (and all of the main characters) before their lives took the turn that led them to where they are now. I liked being able to see what their friendship looked like and how they interacted and why they still care about each other so much now. I love that we learned that Maddy moved in with Cassie and Lexi; it gives a lot more depth to her reaction to learning about Cassie and Nate. And I really loved Rue and Lexi's heart to heart.
I like that we saw Rue (at least seemingly) commit to recovery and admit that she and Jules aren't good for one another, although I wish she and Jules had gotten a bigger, more emotional scene with one another. I liked Maddy and Cassie's fight, and I especially liked the scene where Maddy and Cassie were talking and Maddy told her that it was "just the beginning". And I like that we finally got some resolution on the Cal/Nate/recording situation. I hope that this will help Nate start to cope with his trauma and realize that he doesn't have to be like his father.
There were definitely some parts of the episode that fell flat, which was disappointing for a series finale. Kat's total lack of inclusion in the script despite constantly being present in the shots is a big issue that will need to be resolved in one way or another next season. I think people were right when they said that Eliot's very long song could have been shortened to make room for tying up other loose ends.
And I really hate what they did with Ashtray's character. I understand that they were trying to show us how if violence is all you've ever been around, it's all you know how to do, but it felt more like they included him in the narrative just to push the plot forward. Any time drama needed to happen, Ashtray would just pop up out of nowhere to kill someone, and we didn't really get to know his character outside of that. Surely he had some other hobby besides murder that we could have learned about? The show does such a good job of humanizing all of its characters that its kind of jarring to be presented with this eleven year old who acts kind of robotically and doesn't get any real character development. I'm also not sure what we're meant to take away from the fact that the police *murdered him*. Is it "drug dealing is bad?" or "police are bad" or "children need adults in their lives"? Is it "shit happens"? Is it just a way for us to see that Fez would do anything for his family, something that could have been shown a lot more elegantly? Or did they just do it because they could, and because they knew it would be dramatic?
In the next season, I think we'll see more of the effect of Nate's actions on Maddy. I don't think the show is going to pretend that the scene with the gun never happened, just that there wasn't enough time to delve into it in the season finale. I think Nate will have to come to terms with the ways in which he's hurt other people, and what he's done to Maddy will be a big part of that. I also think that we're probably going to see a trial against Cal and Fez going to prison, so perhaps this next season will be an opportunity to discuss how prisons and police impact individuals, their families, and their communities (although I doubt that's where we're headed). I think we'll probably see Fez try to extract himself from drug dealing entirely, likely with the help of Lexi, and I think the Laurie storyline will probably be part of that. The characters may potentially be off the hook if the police believe that Faye was telling the truth when she accused Laurie of murdering Mouse.
Finally, there are a few things that I think people online are being ridiculous about, and I want to talk about them here. The first one that drives me nuts is people who are like "why is McKay missing from the show this season?" McKay is a college student and the school he goes to is 30 miles away from East Highland. The only reason he was hanging around last season was because he was dating Cassie. Since they broke up, he has no reason to keep being included in the plot, and I can imagine he doesn't want to hang around after how Nate treated him on New Year's.
I also think people are being ridiculous about Rue's funeral speech. "We've seen this in every episode already!" Yeah. That's an artistic choice meant to help us understand how prominent of an event that was for Rue and how much it still impacts her. It's like none of these people have ever seen a movie before, and it drives me nuts. Things in the show aren't "plot holes", they're artistic interpretations of events and emotions. I think sometimes people are expecting Euphoria to be Riverdale, where there's a weird and convoluted explanation for everything, but that's not what it is and that's not what it's meant to be. Jules isn't Cal's 3rd kid who we've never seen, and that's okay.
I think people need to chill out on the Jules hate. I 100% think most of it is rooted in transphobia, because she hasn't done anything worse than any of the other characters. Jules gets all this hate for having an intervention for her girlfriend and hooking up with someone else, while people are bending over backwards to defend Nate, Maddy, and Cassie. The whole point of the show is that the characters are making the only decisions they know how to in the context of their situation and past trauma, but somehow Jules is totally exempt from being given that understanding.

In brief, what do you think most (or some) of the other characters think about Mackson?
Oooof, brief?
Abby: Loves Jackson and is absolutely happy for him and has quickly grown to like Miller, too. Though she was surprised when she first found out.
David: Absolutely proud of his boy! He's loved and supported Briller but he thinks Jackson is a lot better for his son because Jackson is more mature and he's a doctor! He can take care of Nate. Plus they're really cute together, he can see how happy Nate is in the way he keeps sideways glancing at Jackson and smirking and well, the way they hug with so much feeling. David just wants to protect them.
Octavia: Has grown closer to Miller over time, trusts him. He's her head guard in the bunker and him having a steady relationship can only be beneficial to his mental health and stability. To be honest she always thought Jackson was a bit plain, personality wise, but then she never spent much time with him. Being with Miller elevates him into Octavia's inner circle and she gets to see more of his dry humor and his lighter side (even in spite of bunker life) She admires that.
Niylah: being so close with Octavia (and Clarke before that) has made her care about sky people. She spends a lot of working with Jackson and Abby in the bunker and as they grow closer Jackson occasionally shares worries and concerns with her. It's touching and inspiring how much he sees about his boyfriend, it's a trait not many men Niylah knows possess. She thinks they're very cute together. Plus Miller makes a damn fun drinking mate. (And they get all mushy and touchy when they're both drunk)
Indra: Working so close with Miller on the guard she watches him carefully. It takes a while to earn her trust but Miller is loyal to a fault and manages to gain her respect almost as fast as Octavia did. She sees a lot of wounded people get treated by Doctor Jackson and admires him deeply for how serious he takes his oath to help all people and not judge. She cares about and admires both men individually and it makes sense to her that in combination they become even stronger and more valuable for wonkru.
(She'd never say she had motherly feelings for them, but if she had a son and son in law she would surely wish they were like Miller and Jackson)
Gaia: Spending time with Miller she was quick to develop somewhat of a crush on the unwavering guard with the cute smile. It doesn't take long to realize who his heart belongs to, though. And while initially she might mourn a lost chance there (not that fleimkepa is supposed to have relationships or anything) she can't help the way she feels about the soft looks and the gentle support they display. Nathan deserves someone who makes him happy, who lessens the horror of the bunker for him. If that's the good looking doctor with the honest eyes Gaia will take that.
Clarke: Didn't see that one coming. Sure, she knew Jackson was into guys but a guard? Not that Miller isn't smart and all that but she would have rather seen Jackson with a fellow doctor, an engineer, someone more educated maybe?
But then she sees the mutual affection, a softness that 6 years in hell couldn't shake, obviously, and that makes her feel pretty damn jealous. But also a little warm inside.
Bellamy: Has always loved and respected Miller like a little brother. Has known him with Bryan and defended them to people who made stupid comments. He felt the loss when Miller and Bryan broke up, regrets not being in the right headspace to offer him the support his friend probably needed in that situation. Finding out Miller has found someone new, someone as genuine and caring and stable as Jackson, makes him happy for his friend. He sure did miss a lot of stuff while he was in space but he still trusts Miller and hopes to rekindle their friendship. He's more than ready to include Jackson in that, too.
Harper: missed her bestie so much! Is absolutely relieved to find out he's survived praimfaya in the bunker and has found someone to help him through it.
She's always liked Jackson, they've spent some time together when Harper helped out in medical. He's sweet and caring and very compassionate. Finding out Miller and him are in a relationship makes Harper very happy.
Monty: Cares about Miller but is generally not prone to judging relationships one way or another. Doc Jackson seems nice and Miller seems happy, that's that.
Murphy: Secretly has crushes on a lot of the boys. Would never say so. Would never admit he admired Miller. Would never, never, never admit he thinks Jackson is handsome. They're both assholes, after all. Miller blindly following Bellamy's and then Octavia's orders. Jackson blindly following Miller... they probably deserve each other.
Being with Emori has made him soft though. He understands love on a deeper level now and there is no denying that Miller and Jackson love each other. More genuinely and in a healthier way any other couple Murphy ever met.
When Jackson blames him for Abby he's ready to hate him but when Jackson becomes his only hope to safe Emori and ultimately everybody else he overcomes his negative attitude and gives the guy a chance.
Who would have thought Jackson would turn out to become one of his best friends? And consequently Miller, too? (He has the best kind of warped humor, after all)
Hm, who else? I think those are the most important characters probably.
Wait, Madi: absolutely stans her wicked cool uncles!
Sorry but "brief" ain't me when it comes to these people. Sorry for the extremely long post, I don't know how the cuts work on mobile.

What are some head canons you have for each individual characters (OOU obviously)? I want to write a fan fiction or something but, my creativity is running on empty.
Fanfiction is fun! Feel free to message me if you want to talk about your writing ideas!
I’ll do all of the main characters, since I think about them wayyy too much
Bronwyn:
Bronwyn originally wanted to be an oncologist so that she could learn how to cure her sister’s cancer
She wanted a dog her entre life but Maeve wanted a cat so her parents compromised and got neither
(She’s very salty about that)
She’d never snuck out before she met the other Bayview Four members in the half constructed house
Nate:
Nate feels restless sometimes (okay all the time) so he needs to be constantly moving, which is why he first got his motorcycle
Also he is really good at science, despite what he told his mother (he just didn’t try which is why he was in remedial classes) and he decides to major in something science related in college
The only dessert he likes is ice cream, and when Bronwyn finds this out, they get ice cream every week and even though he won’t say it, he loves that
OH MY GOSH my favorite headcanon ever is that he and Maeve both acknowledge that they didn’t really get a childhood because situations they couldn’t control made them grow up too fast so they do everything together that the missed when they young
Addy:
Addy hates dressing up now after her mother entered her in beauty pageants
But she does love helping people (specifically the Rojas sisters) shop for clothes
She really loves kids
Cooper:
Cooper wanted to be something like a firefighter or a cowboy before he wanted to be a baseball player
I have a headcanon that he volunteered somewhere that no one would expect him to volunteer at, like a playgroup or a vet’s office
I feel like he would hate his accent and that he consciously tried to get rid of it when he moved to California.
Kris:
I have nothing, sorry. I don’t know anything about him :(
Luis:
I am one hundred percent certain that Luis had a fake restaurant when he was a kid where he served food to his stuffed animals
He likes baseball better than he likes football, just because Cooper’s on the team
He had a crush on Maeve the minute he met her, despite the fact that people insist that isn’t true because they met months before he ever expressed any semblance of interest in her.
Maeve:
Maeve is secretly good at at least one sport, but she never got to act on it because of the cancer
This one is sad, but she probably is really insecure about herself because of her cancer and if asked I will go down that rabbit hole.
On a happier note, Maeve adopts a kitten she finds when Bronwyn moves out and she, like, falls in love with it
Knox:
Knox has anxiety and the more I think about it the more I am convinced it is true
Knox loves comics a lot
He plays video games every Saturday with Owen until he graduates high school
Phoebe:
Phoebe becomes really close with Cooper
I have no reasoning for this other than she gives me Addy vibes and Addy and Cooper get along like bread and butter (is that a legitimate saying? I’ve said it since I was a kid and I still don’t believe it exists).
Phoebe is a really good singer and I have no reasoning for this

Book of the Month (Jan): The Hand on the Wall
So I’ve decided I want to start this little series where for every month I choose the best book I read of that month and do a little review on it. The only sort of rules that I have are that I finished the book in the month that it is for, it isn’t a reread, and in terms of my new obsession with Webtoons stories I have to have completed the season or whole comic in that month, which will be harder to do since most of the comics I am reading are still going on and only come out once a week. I also want to make a small list for all the books I read that month and show my ratings for them. So for the month of January 2021 I only read 4 books which will probably be my new normal (or even less) in this upcoming year, but my favourite was definitely The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson, which was also my last read of the month. The rest of my list in order from favourite are:
The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson (5 stars)
How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black (5 stars)
Siren’s Lament, Season 1 by instantmiso (5 stars)
The Huntress by Kate Quinn (4 stars)
Characters
Now onto the actual review, like I did with the Chain of Gold review, I break it up into three parts, my thoughts on the characters, relationships, and plot. In terms of characters, I love the cast in the Truly Devious novels! I love Stevie and how her mind works. It is so interesting to read. She’s such a relatable but also unique character that it’s hard to really pinpoint one thing that was so amazing about her. But I feel like the way that she goes through life, and this book, constantly trying to find the logical meanings from the clues but also having to remember to behave like a human was written really well and done fascinatingly. She had the perfect amount of flaws and imperfections while also being truly amazing and almost robotic when it comes to solving her mysteries, which I have to say is something I’ve always loved about detective stories like Sherlock Holmes or Charlotte Holmes. (I have to admit that I haven’t read that many detective mystery stories). But even though she has the same feel as Sherlock Holmes or Charlotte Holmes in a sense, she also is completely her own individual character and has many aspects that make her even more relatable than Sherlock.
Next we have David who I have to admit I’m in love with. He’s got the perfect amount of troubled bad boy who doesn’t give a shit, but also vulnerable and kind and caring. It was interesting to delve a little bit more into David’s character and his problems with his dad, but I feel like in this last book to the trilogy it was more the end to the mystery where we knew practically everything about the characters, so it didn’t have the same wow factors with the plot twists in David’s character like the first two books had.
And to add with that, that is the reason I found that in this book individually, the rest of the gang fell a bit more flat than the previous books. By the gang I mean Stevie’s friends from Minerva House, Nate, Janelle, Vi, and Hunter (although Vi and Hunter technically don’t originally live in Minerva House, but they're still part of the gang).
Relationships
Onto relationships… Even though I said that the characters all kind of fall a bit flat in this last book because it’s more focused on the plot, I still have to say that I loved the small development of Stevie and Nate’s friendship. I felt like in the book it felt closer and more valuable, although I feel like that’s the wrong word to explain it. It just felt like Nate and Stevie had more trust and understanding between each other, especially since he’s the one Stevie told first about her solving the mystery.
The second relationship that I was happy ended well, even when they didn’t start well in this book, was Stevie and David. I was really sad when they sort of broke up in the last book because like I already said, I love David. Even though David can kind of be an asshole from time to time, he really does pull through and cares a lot for Stevie even when he tries to pretend otherwise. I was just happy it ended well.
And the last relationship that I just love is the relationship between Stevie and Larry. I just always felt like they had such a cute either father-daughter relationship or a mentor-mentee thing which I always really loved. So I was happy that Larry came back in this book and played a pretty big role in the end with helping Stevie solve the whole mystery. It just makes the book feel so much more realistic when there are actual adults helping the kids in these YA or middle grade novels because that’s what you’d hope actually happens in real life.
Plot
Finally now, let’s talk about the plot. Like I already mentioned this final book in the series was definitely more plot driven than the other books were, obviously because it was the final book where the whole mystery had to be solved, and while there were still cute character moments, it was still all heavily developed with the plot and moved the plot forward. And even though I usually like a book that focuses more on the characters than the plot, I loved this book for finally revealing the full picture of the mystery of Truly Devious. It was very satisfying and everything felt so intentional. It really did feel like the last piece of a very big puzzle and I loved that feeling so much. I liked learning more about the Ellingham’s back in the 1930s and I loved all the tie ins to the present day.
Overall I just loved this series so much which was probably why this book was my favorite for the month because in my mind it reflects the whole series. It was super well written and kept me on the edge of my seat, and it was also a very fast read once you got into it. I can’t wait to read more in Stevie’s world and honestly hope these books go on forever with just different mysteries. Highly highly recommend these books.
I hope more people read these books and find joy in the mystery just like I did, and sorry for all of my jumbled thoughts, this post is kind of a mess, but oh well.
Until next time!

My english is horrible but i love your tumblr so much. Damn I'm addicted to him. Hmm I'd like to ask - if possible - a playlist (or just some or a few songs) that you think really goes well with Castiel and Nathaniel something like 'I hear it in my free time' or something. Or maybe that song they listen to and think about candy :3
Before you listen to these songs please know that these are all my personal opinions and may not fit your personal image of the character, which is totally fine! I just feel like some of these songs people may not agree with so just wanted to say that first :) The individual groups/artists may not be relevant, just that specific song
Castiel
Now I’m not sure if my mind is making things up or not but I THINK i read somewhere that he prefers to listen to like, hard rock/metal?? If not then ignore this but if this is true I personally disagree with this if it is canon. One of my top band/group choices for Cas has always been The Neighbourhood. Here are a few of their songs I feel he would like a lot. I also think his voice might sound somewhat similar to the lead singer’s, maybe a little more smooth sounding though, and deeper.
Crybaby
You get me so high
Leaving Tonight
Float
Sunburn - Muse
Tongue Tied - Grouplove (also one of my personal faves) This is more of an upbeat song but honestly if you don’t like this song there might be something wrong with you sorry
Balaclava - Arctic Monkeys
Leave out all the rest - Linkin Park. Probably a general LP fan. Also yes ik this song was on twilight but that has nothing to do with it lmao
Take what you want - Post Malone ft. Ozzy Osbourne
Also one of my favorite personal headcanons is that Castiel is a secret Maroon 5 fan lol like once he’s comfortable around you and whatnot he’s a little more open about it. He tries to act like he hates pop music but I mean come on there’s at least ONE maroon 5 song that everyone likes
Nathaniel
Again my mind could just be making these things up but I may have read somewhere that Nath prefers like softer acoustic music? Or some shit lmao idk i only partially agree with this so some songs may not really fit that box.
It’s called: Freefall - Rainbow Kitten Surprise, i personally love this song as well and feel like Nate would too
Sweater Weather - The NBHD (also my favorite song in the entire frickin world)
End Credits - Eden, now I know this may be iffy for some people but i think nate would love this
Habits of my heart - James Young
Definitely a general fan of Lana Del Rey lmfao he’s not like a die hard but I could totally see him binging to her albums once in a while. It’s not something he can listen to all the time though, only when he’s in a certain mood. Here are a few of his Lana Jams
Video Games
Blue Jeans
Love
I bet you look good on the dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys, he likes to rock out and dance to this in his room, adorable
Work Song - Hozier
Bloom Later -  Jesse (lead singer of the NBHD btw)

About My Blog:
Name: Nate Age: 29 (I’m bad at updating this, I was born in 1990) Pronouns: he/him/his.
It’s been ages since I’ve updated any sort of info about myself or my blog, oops.
Dfab nb trans guy, genderfluid. On the aro/ace spectrum. Queer. Gay. Neuroatypical (ADHD among other things; possibly dyslexia or else it’s just my ADHD that makes reading The Worst). I have chronic pain. I’m chubby.
Privilege: I’m white, I grew up with financial security while I lived with my parents, I live in a liberal area of New England in the USA, I am able-bodied, I can pass as neurotypical. If I make false assumptions or fuck up because of any of these things please call me on it. I will do my utmost not to make this necessary, and to listen if it should ever be necessary.
I blog about social justice, social issues, whatever fandom I’m currently hyperfixated on, DnD, and plenty of other stuff.
My views have evolved since I started blogging, so if you go far enough back in my blog you’ll find posts that I no longer agree with.
I use my “likes” as storage for things I want to respond to later, or save to my computer when I’m on the mobile app, or research more thoroughly before reblogging when I have time/attention, etc. Do not assume I agree with everything in my likes. View my likes with caution.
I’m a writer and an illustrator, and am a Personal Care Assistant to a really cool lady. I play a lot of DnD and I love my dnd group. I’ve been in a relationship with one of my best friends since we were 15. We are engaged, live together, play video games and DnD, and have cats.
I post my thoughts here. I post my art here. These are my cats. This is my face.
I am not always right. I am still learning.
Do not cite me as an expert or trust my implicitly. I am happy to give my thoughts on and discuss any issue, and I do try to research my points before I make them, but I am not an authority.
My ask box is always open. I will respond privately if you ask me to. If I respond publicly I will tag it with your URL so you can find it easily (unless you ask me not to). I tag all asks with “ask” and all anons with “ask” and “anon”. If you send me an ask and I don’t respond it might be because Tumblr ate it, and I never received it, or because I have ADHD and sometimes I forget to respond to things. In either case feel free to send the ask again. I do not consider this rude.
I am careful to always tag for things like racism, transphobia, ableism, etc., as well as death, blood, horror cops, spiders, etc., so people can blacklist them.
I am usually happy to add to this list if you have a phobia or trigger and need me to, just ask. If for some reason I’m uncomfortable tagging a particular subject, I will not be offended if you unfollow me (I’ll also just NEVER be offended by that; you do you)
Some navigation help for my blog:
current events - this tag is reserved for whatever the most recent important (and awful) thing happens to be.
Disney’s Frozen - this tag is referencing all of the problems with that movie (the first one), including general discussion about the sexism in how women are animated. It accidentally became my “misogyny in animation” tag, sorry!
Statistics - this tag is for all posts with specific statistics about social injustice.
real talk - this tag is for short posts that I feel most clearly and succinctly summarize issues of social injustice.
Boost - any post that involves petitions, fund raisers, sales, or other things I want people to not only see but interact with.
Fandoms:
I’ve been in fandom for a long time. I’m here to have fun, and am not comfortable with the current online purity culture of throwing shame at people who enjoy harmless things that you don’t. Fandom is not always about what we wish was real or canon; sometimes it’s about the opposite of that on purpose.
I’m a polyshipper and a multishipper, though I definitely have OTPs and sometimes don’t enjoy seeing those pairs with other people. This is personal preference, and not a judgment on others.
I try to stay out of fandom discourse and mainly reblog art I like. Occasionally, though, I do reblog criticism of fandom specific bigotry.
Just because I reblog stuff from a particular fandom doesn’t mean I necessarily like everything about the piece of media, where/who it came from, or the direction it went. I value fandom because of the power to make the stories we’re given into the stories we wish we’d been given, AND the power to turn stories we love into whatever we’re vibing with at the moment.
Harry Potter was a formative fandom for me, so despite hating JKR I will still engage with fanworks related to it. I tag anything Harry Potter with “hp”. I tag everything relating to JKR with “fuck you JKR”.
Anything related to Tolkien’s Middle Earth stories is tagged “lotr”, anything about the MCU is tagged “Avengers”, and anything related to Avatar the Last Airbender is tagged “Atla”.
I tag anything from the Tales of series with “Tale of” as well as their individual game titles. Anything from MOST Fire Emblem games gets lumped together under “Fire Emblem” but Three Houses is “fe3h”. Similarly, Most Final Fantasy games get “Final Fantasy” while 14 gets “ffxiv”.
Other media I particularly love off the top of my head (and their associated tags), or at least that I often reblog about, includes: Critical Role (and CR2), Phoenix Wright, She Ra (tag: “shera”), Saiyuki, Yu Yu Hakusho (tag: “yyh”), Undertale, The Good Place. Mad Max, Naruto, Miraculous Ladybug (tag: “miraculous”), Legend of Zelda (tag: “zelda”)

TV Review: Crisis on Infinite Earths (Spoilers)
Tumblr media
Parts 4 & 5: Arrow & Legends of Tomorrow
Spoiler Warning: I am posting this review the day after the episodes air in the U.S, so if you haven’t yet seen the final two parts of the crossover then don’t read on until you have.
Overview:
Tumblr media
Wow! I can’t decide if it’s the fanboy in me but I am really impressed with how Warner Bros/DC and The CW were able to finish telling this ultimate crossover story. I will draw a lot of parallels to Avengers: Endgame in this review because you can’t really not but while obviously Infinity War and its conclusion in the comics was a massive event, Crisis is seismic, it is the event...in many respects it is Event One. So the pressure was on to not only payoff the last 8 years of storytelling in essentially 5 hours, but also honour this iconic comic-book event.
And did they do it? Well after a slightly shaky start with Arrow, in my humble opinion yes and, with Legends of Tomorrow no less, I think left audiences and fans especially with one exciting feast of food for thought...potential. There is so much potential and so many doors opened not just to our now core four shows, but for shows to come and even shows affiliated.
But with the doors now burst open for the future of the DC Multiverse, because after this I can’t just call it the Arrowverse anymore, just exactly where does The CW go from here?
Disclaimer: Because this was a two-part finalé of sorts and I am time-constrained with other responsibilities, I will be saying what I loved, what I hated and what I thought was “meh”, because there is still some “meh”.
The Great:
Earth-Prime:
Tumblr media
So of course the first great thing for me was this new reality that all our main heroes find themselves now inhabiting, save for Oliver who I will get to. But yes, after the events of Arrow which saw our seven Paragons, and Spectre Oliver, supposedly defeat the Anti-Monitor and reboot the universe, they create Earth-Prime...as well as a new Multiverse but getting to that.
Earth-Prime now hosts not only the original inhabitants of Earth-1 (The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman etc) but also combines them with Earth-38 (Supergirl) and even Black Lightning’s Earth...which we never had an official designation for which is annoying.
So now, it’s widely speculated which state all of these relatively fictional cities are in, but from what I know you have Star City in Washington, Central City in Missouri, National City in California, Gotham City in New Jersey, Metropolis in New York and Freeland in Georgia. All of which are now in the same reality as they should have been from the start but I digress.
This is possibly a novelty that will soon wear off, particularly when our individual heroes face off against a big-bad and cannot call one of their new allies for help, but for the time being it is really awesome to see that not only has this happened, but it is a direct ramification of the events of the crossover that is permanent...this doesn’t get retconned and isn’t temporary...Earth-Prime is now the main setting of the Arrowverse.
Justice League?:
Tumblr media
Right at the end of the episode when our main heroes (Genuinely everyone who is the main character of a current series or future series as well as Martian Manhunter are lined up) to mourn their fallen friend Oliver, it turns out that where they have decided to do this is the same S.T.A.R. Labs Hall that the first major team-up first assembled in.
The reasoning for this is because Barry has decided to make this all-star team-up official for “future missions” (meaning future crossovers) and even has brought in a round table with chairs for every member there as well as an empty seat for Oliver.
This is clearly either a nod or an introduction to the Justice League of the Arrowverse. Obviously here the founding members are The Flash, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, Superman, White Canary, Batwoman, Black Lightning and, posthumously, Green Arrow.
Tumblr media
Although on that note, I feel that Green Arrow slot may soon be filled by Mia Smoak given that she is set to become the new Green Arrow. Although how she gets back from the future remains a mystery even if she does.
Regardless, this is something that has been either preluded to or wanted by fans since the all-star team up first came together during the Invasion crossover. I love the logos on each chair representing each character, I love the characters that are involved. I mean it may seem a bit biased to have three characters from Supergirl involved but not only do I feel this is because Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman is getting his own series but also you can’t have a Justice League-style founding team without Martian Manhunter.
Also, it’s unclear as to exactly how large this team is. Yes these 7/8 are the founding members but do the rest of Teams Arrow, Flash, Superfriends and the Legends act as subsidiaries akin to Justice League Unlimited? Only time will tell.
I mean we know that both Black Canaries are heading over to Green Arrow and the Canaries with Mia but I would love to see Elongated Man, Mister Terrific, Vixen, Brainiac 5 and Ragman being part of this team going forward.
Going Meta:
Tumblr media
Tying into this Justice League scene, I did love how Meta the last episode got, not so much Part 4 but definitely Part 5. I will admit the constant Meta-References on Legends of Tomorrow is one of the reasons why I’m so annoyed with the show recently but because I guess Legends hasn’t been on until now in this current run I guess I missed it.
Also on a side-note the very term of “Meta” is bemusing to me in regards to this series of shows because of course there’s meta-referencing but also here metahumans that are also called “metas”.
But anyway, there’s been a running gag throughout the crossover about how the Legends don’t want to be a part of the crossover, yet Ray seems to be excited that there was a crossover. Sara seems to want the crossover to finish as soon as possible despite she, and Barry, being the de-facto leaders of the all-star team before Barry formally forms the Justice League team.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed the interaction between Kate and Jefferson, who essentially are the two relative newbies to the Arrowverse with Batwoman joining last year and Black Lightning officially joining this year.
When Jefferson clicks that this whole saving the world situation will be a recurring thing, Kate tries to reassure him by saying she was “the new kid” last year.
It is interesting because, aside from Supergirl, the newcomers in the year of the crossover usually sit it out or are barely in it. Nate and Amaya during Invasion! for example were only in it during their episode.
Here we of course only have Black Lightning representing because as I understand it there is something going on his his show with his team which is why they’re not active here but still.
Also on the subject of Meta references, Rene’s corrolation of Mick’s surname being Rory as a similarity to a Rory that was once on Team Arrow, being Ragman, just makes me miss Ragman on the show. I know Joe Dinicol is returning for the Arrow finalé so I am thrilled for that.
Heat, Frost & Lightning:
This does sound like I’m only loving this last episode rather than the two episodes but I’m getting to that.
Anyway Prime-Earth Heat Wave reunites with Killer Frost after two years and I am thrilled. I love these two together, I think Mick and Frost really bounce off each other well and Dominic Purcell and Danielle Panabaker do have good comedic and antihero chemistry together.
But also, they have added and somewhat unwanted assistance this time as Black Lightning shows up. I knew Cress Williams would be back in the crossover after his minor appearance in Part 3, it was also a sign that all The CW shows now inhabit this one Earth and to have three elemental heroes working together (it pains me that both Heat Wave and Killer Frost have become heroes) was very cool. I hope there’s more of this trio down the line.
Lex Luthor - Paragon of Deception:
I am not Jon Cryer’s biggest fan but I really enjoy him as Lex Luthor. While I thought his mission to kill all the Supermen was fun, him becoming the Paragon of Truth replacing Kingdom Come Superman at the last minute, as I said in my last review, was a stroke of genius that I did not see coming.
I do love the fact that, rather than becoming a good guy through becoming a Paragon, he is still Lex Luthor and still self-serving while also trying to help restart the universe.
The fact he gave himself powers with the Book of Destiny which allowed him to fend off Supergirl, I would say “and Ryan” but really Ryan Choi didn’t really do much until Part 5.
Lex also had possibly my favourite line of the two episodes which was “In the contest of Mind over Muscle, Mind wins every time”. It’s a very Eobard Thawne type of line but I can imagine any version of Lex I’ve seen saying it which makes it so classic.
Also, if they are in fact doing a Justice League-style team, they need some sort of Injustice League with Lex and Eobard. I mean they’ve had the Legion of Doom but that didn’t work out so maybe this would?
Tumblr media
Also, I’m sorry, the fact he was the one to figure out how to save the universe and yet ends up not only back being alive but as National City’s good guy as well as the owner of the D.E.O, I am most excited to see what happens in Supergirl next because of this development.
Parallel Earths for Non-Arrowverse Properties:
So in this new Multiverse, Earth-Prime is the Arrowverse Earth. The reality where Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman and Black Lightning all take place.
Tumblr media
The other Earths this time around seem to be Earths for other shows that aren’t Arrowverse inclusive. Earth-2 seems to belong to the upcoming Stargirl series, Earth-9 is still Titans, Earth-96 is still Kingdom Come Superman’s Earth which combines the Christopher Reeves Superman with Routh’s Superman Returns, Earth-21 is Doom Patrol which many fans believe is the same universe as Titans but despite both being DC Universe shows, they’re separate universes.
Earth-19 is where it gets interesting as what we see is the planet Oh, meaning this is a universe the Green Lantern Corps exist on and is most likely an allusion to the upcoming Green Lantern series in development on HBOMax produced by Greg Berlanti. However, originally Earth-19 was the home of the Collectors such as Gypsy and the Accelerated Man, so whether or not they cohabit I do not know
I liked this set up because Earths 2, 9, 19 and 21 are all the main settings for either current or upcoming shows. This echos the comics beautifully as now the Arrowverse is one Earth, and the affiliates are different Earths.
Tumblr media
Also the fact that Kingdom Come Superman was shown in this line-up is probably an assurance to fans that he either could or will return at a later date. The Superman and Lois series is definitely based on Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch’s versions of the characters but Brandon Routh is stepping down from Legends this season so while he may be pulling back on The Atom he could appear as a guest or recurring guest on that show maybe?
It is also fair to assume, because of these Earth designations being the same as they were Pre-Crisis (love being able to say that), that Earth-666 is still the Earth that Lucifer is based on, Earth-89 is still the Burtonverse Batman reality, Earth-66 is still the 60s Batman reality and Earth-167 is still Smallville’s reality. Just because we don’t see them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
Also it’s unclear about how Earths established on The Flash such as Earth-3, Earth-90 and Earth-X fit in to all of this. Because Pre-Crisis Earth-2 isn’t confirmed to be part of Earth-Prime so Earth-2 Laurel could easily cohabit the same universe as Stargirl, it can be assumed that the 90s Flash is still a separate reality and Jay Garrick still exists on his own Earth.
Wonder Twins:
While not featured directly in this crossover, the very end of the final episode features the sound of a monkey the floor above the main S.T.A.R. Labs Hall, and while the team go to investigate, the camera reveals a cage with a busted open door and the name “Gleek” on the side of it.
Gleek, as far as I am aware, is the pet monkey of Zan and Jayna better known as the Wonder Twins. Also apparently as this commotion was going on the theme music from the Wonder Twins animated series was playing over it.
I only know of Zan and Jayna primarily from Smallville in their one appearance but I do also know of them as a duo that they are.
From what I know, the Wonder Twins are alien members of the Super Friends and Justice League, so for them to be alluded to just as the Arrowverse’s Justice League are forming is quite poetic.
Whether or not they are being saved for the next crossover or if they will be featured in upcoming episodes of Supergirl, The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow remains to be seen, but I do imagine the fact that characters from these main shows, and Black Lightning and Batwoman, will not be mentioned in the next episode of each series.
The Bad:
Spectre:
Alright so I mentioned me being a fanboy at the start of the review, however I am not as familiar with the comics as I am with the movies and shows. Because of this, I still to this day have no idea who Spectre actually is and what his role in the larger DC Universe is.
For instance, when Emmett J. Scanlan was introduced in Constantine as Jim Corrigan, I understood in the comics he was supposed to become Spectre and the fact those premonitions preluded to that was interesting...but then he became Lobo on Krypton and I really wanted to see Lobo here but didn’t.
Now with have this other Jim Corrigan from some random other Earth, because Constantine made it clear that this wasn’t the Corrigan he knows, but this one has become the Spectre of the Multiverse because there can only be one Spectre at a time.
Simultaneously, Oliver dies, is brought back by the Lazarus Pit, but his soul becomes the new Spectre after Corrigan passes on that burden so now Oliver is Spectre. Which is where we find him here...sparingly.
Honestly, in the episode dedicated to him, Arrow, it is criminal how little he is actually used particularly as it’s his second death episode of the crossover.
But in regards to who the Spectre is and what he does, people can tell me to read the comics or watch other shows with Spectre in, but if this current show that I am watching doesn’t explain what this Spectre is or does, that’s bad and, in my opinion, a waste of time.
From what I gather Spectre is a lot like Pariah, he is there to bear witness to events. However, like Pariah, Spectre’s power set is never really explained, he’s just there.
He can travel interdimensionally, okay how? He had the power to ignite the flame for the new universe...okay how? The Spectre can be passed on from person to person...okay how? None of this is ever truly explained and then he dies...so does Spectre die? Will there never be another Spectre?
Speed Force Scavenger Hunt:
Tumblr media
So I am sure this was supposed to be poignant for the fact it was the Arrow episode and all but one of the Speed Force scenes are essentially flashbacks to previous scenes from Arrow. However, the way they were filmed was completely distracting.
How do you use previous scenes while incorporating new footage? Cheat and film a new scene and clumsily stitch the two together with “clever” angles. You literally had the one scene that the Paragons were witnessing, then their own scene which were never shown together. You always have the characters talking at the camera as if they’re talking to each other, it’s disconcerting and really uncomfortable to watch.
The aim of this mission was for all the Paragons to come back together after they were scattered through the Speed Force...why? Because.
Also the scene from Invasion! with Oliver and Kara, Kara is clearly present day Kara but surely in the memory of the scene she should be wearing the suit she wore back then and had the hairstyle she had back then?
Speaking of Invasion! because it was mentioned in this scene, the Arrow episode from Invasion! celebrating 100 episodes and being another Batman rip off, was a lot better and tugging the nostalgic heartstrings than this.
The only two new scenes we get both involve Barry, the first is an odd inclusion and involves Arrowverse Barry Allen coming face to face with the DCEU’s Barry Allen, Ezra Miller.
Tumblr media
This was the most unexpected and bizarre cameo in the entire crossover. This also calls into question how DCEU Flash is still alive considering the entirety of reality has been wiped out. They could have explained that the Vanishing Point and Speed Force were the only two places Antimatter cannot reach, but they didn’t.
It was still fun to at least see Ezra Miller’s Flash, not just because Ezra Miller agreed to appear on the TV series, but also because after Justice League I feel he needed a second chance before his movie comes.
The second new scene was after Sara is murdered and brought to the Arrowcave, John is there telling Laurel to take Sara’s place and become the new Canary...despite not being too happy that she becomes the new Canary in episodes that follow this scene but I digress.
Barry shows up, and because John and Laurel don’t know of The Flash at this time they don’t know who he is, but he electroshocks Sara back to life and she is revealed to be the modern-day Sara.
This is what I don’t understand, Marc Guggenheim made it quite clear that Earth-1 Laurel would have be a major plot point in this crossover, but all she did was extend her original emotional scene into what is, in my opinion, a plot-hole.
Giant Beebo:
Can someone please explain this freakin’ toy obsession. I know it’s not real, yet for some reason it is all Legends of Tomorrow usually resort to for a cheap laugh or a cooky villain.
Tumblr media
Here, Giant Beebo is back, but it’s not actually Giant Beebo it’s an illusion. However, the very fact this gave the freedom for the show to reference the time the Legends transformed into a giant Megazord-like Beebo to defeat Mallus, there’s so much epic stuff happening in this episode so why go back to what makes Legends of Tomorrow so bad.
The most part of this final episode was where I want Legends to be at, not resorting to cheap gags.
The Meh:
Weather Witch:
Tumblr media
Alright so before getting into the biggest “meh” point of this conclusion for me I do need to touch on the fact that the minor threat that started the ball rolling on discovering Earth-Prime was all-inclusive in the final episode was by Weather Witch...why?
Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with Weather Witch...but what was the point in Weather Witch being there? You could have had quite literally any other villain still living from Arrow, Flash, Supergirl or Legends...have the New Rogues as a team being the conflict. It just makes no sense.
Rules of Earth-Prime:
Alright so with this new Multiverse now comes potentially new rules. For example, John and Lyla (who by the way never got a comeuppance unlike Nash) now not only have JJ but also Sara is back, as if she never left as she seems to be the same age as JJ...so does this mean they’re now twins?
It’s also stated that Connor is gone, and because we never see Mia or William it’s implied they’ve gone back to the future ready for the next Arrow episode which is also the Green Arrow and the Canaries backdoor pilot.
However, with Sara being back, what does that mean for the rest of reality? Clearly Flashpoint never happens in this reality so with Sara and JJ in the same universe are others back from non-existence? Is Cisco’s brother Dante alive? Reverse-Flash clearly can’t die but where was he during all this?
What about others who were previously dead? Captain Cold, Earth-1 Laurel? I know some of these things will probably be explored over time or at the convenience of the writers but some revelations in this episode other than Sara Diggle would have been nice to see.
Tumblr media
Also, for some strange reason, Superman and Lois of Supergirl now have two sons rather than just the one...why?
Overall I rate the entire crossover a strong 9/10. Part 4 did let the crossover down a bit but Parts 1-3 and especially Part 5 were just so good that I cannot mark it down too far.
This was the crossover every DC fan was going to be watching and critiquing not just because of the comic-book story it is based on but the fact it is the most ambitious TV crossover to ever exist crossing over not just the five main shows, but other shows past and present and even movies.
I loved the nostalgia that played into seeing Smallville, 1989 Batman, 1960s Batman, Kevin Conroy, all of the cameos and additions were just so well done.
So that’s my review of the conclusion to Crisis on Infinite Earths, what did you guys think? Post your comments down below and check out more DC TV Reviews as well as other TV Reviews and posts.

161. Sonic the Hedgehog #93
Tumblr media
Crime 'N Punishment
Writer: Karl Bollers Pencils: FRY Colors: Frank Gagliardo
Sonic races back to Knothole after his fight with Ken, wracked with guilt both over the king's injuries from the previous day, and from losing the sword today. That said, he's still not ready to face the consequences of his actions, as he's completely outraged when he exits the Great Oak Slide straight into a net waiting to catch him.
Tumblr media
That's one hell of a way to try to put someone under arrest, Geoffrey. Imagine if real life cops just slung a net over anyone they wanted to arrest. Sonic angrily insists he doesn't have to answer to Geoffrey, but then Elias shows up, saying he does have to answer to someone after all…
Within Robotropolis, Eggman welcomes the crowd of Overlanders into his city, though the little girl, Hope, finds herself feeling uneasy. As Eggman invites the members of his immediate family into the palace to offer them a "luxury suite," beneath the city streets, Kodos continues to celebrate his acquisition of the Sword of Acorns.
Tumblr media
Might wanna be careful of what you say when you've got a sneaky ninja spider hanging around you, buddy boy. In Knothole, Sonic tries to insist to Elias that he wants to speak to Sally before anyone else, but Elias says that whatever he has to say to her can be said to him instead, since he's the acting ruler. Sonic thus imagines himself apologizing tenderly to Sally while holding her close, and, deciding that that is definitely not something he wants to do with Elias, races off, which angers Geoffrey, though Elias says to let him go for now. Sonic is caught up in his depressed thoughts as he runs, until Mina happily races toward him, shouting that she's glad he's not in jail. However, she finds herself unable to control her speed as she runs, and crashes straight into Sonic.
Tumblr media
IS THIS A LOVE TRIANGLE I SMELL? Man, I'm sorry Mina, I love you, but I cannot stand love triangles. Y'all already know this. Apparently Mina was actually originally introduced to the comic with the intent to make her a romantic rival for Sonic's affections against Sally, and so for a little while, we're gonna be dealing with that, until Mina is able to get her own characterization apart from being a love interest. Anyway, at that moment Antoine and Bunnie show up, having just returned from their trip to Mercia with the High Sheriff in tow, bound in ropes, because damn, if high quality mechanical restraints designed by the most advanced race on the planet aren't enough to keep a violent and powerful Robian in check, surely some plain old cordage from Home Depot will do! They say they have to speak to the king at once concerning their new prisoner, but Nate arrives as well, explaining to them that the king is paralyzed and Elias is acting ruler for now. Sonic becomes guilt-ridden once again, and to his everlasting credit, Antoine immediately, without first finding out the story behind Sonic's mood, says that he doesn't believe any of this can be Sonic's fault. With the strong, almost hateful-at-times rivalry that these two were depicted having in the original SatAM cartoon, I absolutely love the respect and friendship between Sonic and Antoine in the comics. Antoine in particular is just a much more well-treated character by the writers, who give him proper character development and depth every chance they get, instead of just having him be the Cowardly Frenchman. (Don't get me wrong, Antoine in the show was hilarious, but he really gets the proper love he deserves in the comics.) Anyway, Sonic explains both the king's injuries and the loss of the sword to everyone present, and when Nate tries to reassure him that the king shouldn't have even gone into battle anyway, Sonic suddenly stands and races off, saying he's going to do what he should have done from the start. Meanwhile, back underneath Robotropolis…
Tumblr media
You may have messed up big time, Kodos. Elias and Geoffrey approach the queen and Sally to inform them of what Sonic has done, and Sally is shocked to hear the news. She starts to ask what she should do to rectify the situation before catching herself and asking instead what Elias plans to do. Her mother tells her not to worry, and leads her away, while Geoffrey gets his chance to address Elias alone.
Tumblr media
I've never agreed so much with such an asshole before. He's basically said exactly what I've been saying this entire time - Sally is the one who has the necessary leadership experience. She ran a whole freakin' rebellion on her own when she was a kid, for crying out loud. However, I draw the line at Geoffrey's plan to basically install himself as a shadow ruler from behind the scenes. Geoffrey is known to be far too harsh in situations which don't call for harshness, and though he has leadership experience of his own, leading the Rebel Underground during Robotnik's reign, he's far less qualified to handle the running of an entire kingdom than he is at leading a small squad of covert operatives.
Back in Robotropolis, Eggman welcomes Colin, Lady Agnes (the woman Sonic saved last issue), and Hope into his palace. Colin explains who the other two are, but it's a bit confusing so I'll give my own spin on things. Colin is Snively's father. We don’t yet know who the mother was, but she isn't in the picture as of now. While in space, he remarried to another woman which made Hope his step-daughter, but that wife died before they reached their home planet once more. Lady Agnes, Hope's grandmother, is his mother-in-law as a result of the marriage. And in all of this, remember that Eggman/Robotnik is Colin's brother, which would essentially make Hope his step-niece. Enough about their weird-ass family history, though - in Knothole, Sonic races back to Elias and admits his guilt in stealing the sword, presenting himself for arrest. Elias, however, instead of arresting him, strips him of his knighthood and tells him that from now on he's confined to Knothole as a minor, all while Geoffrey smirks in the background. Come on, Geoffrey, you were actually acting chill there for a while back when Sonic was actually knighted, why are you going back to your old asshole ways? Sigh…
Bagging the Big One
Writer/Pencils/Colors: Ken Penders
I think this is the first time we've ever had a story where all the work was done by one individual. Unfortunately, that individual happens to be Penders, who has decided to take the laziest approach to his work possible. Seriously - the backgrounds for the majority of the panels are photos of real world landscapes, onto which the comic characters are awkwardly superimposed, making them look incredibly out of place. It's all just… really, really bad. I went ahead and chose some choice panels that demonstrate just how bad it is so y'all can see for yourselves!
Anyway, remember Charmy the Bee? You might not, since he's been ignored by the comic for so long by now, but he still exists, I can assure you! You might also not remember that he's a freaking prince engaged to another bee called Saffron, because Ken Penders is insane. Charmy and Saffron are lounging in a photograph of a field talking about their future children (YES, REALLY) when a flash of light interrupts them and Green Knuckles approaches them. They're surprised at his color swap, and as Charmy introduces him to Saffron, we see the three of them through a set of crosshairs from afar. Yes, that's right, Nack and Nic have tracked Knuckles to this spot with the information the Albion council provided them. Nic wants to take Knuckles down immediately, but Nack admonishes her for not playing dirty enough, and leaves her to her sniper's perch as he approaches the trio. Knuckles, meanwhile, is explaining his new look, as well as the disappearance of the Floating Island.
Tumblr media
This next part drives me nuts, because Nack concocts some story about his aircraft breaking down and needing help repairing it, and Knuckles does not suspect a thing, even though he first saw (and punched) him all the way back during the Sonic Triple Trouble special! Granted, it's not like he ever exchanged direct words with him, and I guess you could say it's been years and he's forgotten or something, but you'd think someone who's supposedly as smart as Knuckles would recognize the face of someone he punched off his island previously. Anyway, Knuckles tries to brush Nack off, saying he doesn't have time to help, and in response Nack makes the very smart decision to throw a knife into the grass at Knuckles' feet where he could easily grab it if he wants to. Knuckles does just that, but then listens as Nack informs him that his partner has Charmy and Saffron in her sights and that Knuckles will come with him if he wants his friends to live. Knuckles reluctantly does so, and as they walk over to Nic, Nack reveals that he knows that Knuckles is the Guardian. This shocks Knuckles, who wonders how he even knows about that in the first place, and then we come to perhaps one of my least favorite pages in the entire comic, for a variety of reasons.
Tumblr media
First of all - stop with the photo backgrounds, Penders, they look horribly out of place and incredibly ugly. Second of all, the actual art is awkward-looking as hell - for one, Knuckles just looks like he's amiably offering up his wrists for the handcuffs instead of seeming shocked. Third of all, Gala-Na, instead of being reasonable about the whole thing, has again shown herself to be a horrible person. Again, if she just took the time to try to reason with Knuckles, talk to him, offer him advice and help him with his newfound powers, he would probably listen, because he's confused and scared and in want of guidance from people who know more about this stuff than he does! But no, instead she's decided to lock him into a Chaos Syphon against his will, acting like it's some difficult decision for her to make when she's not the one who has to deal with the consequences on her very life and being.
And finally, we come to Yanar. To the image of Yanar, whom Athair once considered so close as to be his own son, whom Knuckles trusted and helped to reach his final destination after generations of wandering without a purpose, who has acted as an ally and even a friend before this moment - Yanar, handing over payment to Nic and Nack the Weasels, in exchange for helping them capture Knuckles to drain him of his power for Gala-Na's own peace of mind. Handing over the payment and ignoring the shocked and betrayed Knuckles behind him, turning his back quite literally on the one person who helped him and all of his people find their home after so long. He's decided that he likes his new home so much that he'll even betray the one who helped him get there. This was the exact moment I realized I hated Yanar. Even more than Gala-Na, I hate him. At least Gala-Na has the excuse of not being attached to Knuckles personally. If you ask me, Knuckles doesn’t show nearly enough anger, hurt, and betrayal from this event. Way to follow in the footsteps of your adoptive father Athair, asshole. You know, the one who actually cares about his family even though so many of them have turned their backs on him? What a complete piece of garbage. Sorry, I know this isn't actually even commentary on the quality of the comic and it's just me personally being all salty at the actions of one character, but I feel really strongly about this one. Just… screw you, Yanar.

X-23 and the Direction of the X-Men
I’ve talked a lot about what I don’t like with what Marvel has been doing, so I thought I’d talk about what I DO like with the X-23 solo series and how the X-Men line in general could benefit from doing the same…
Mariko Tamaki’s solo series utilizes elements of Morrison, Kyle and Yost, Liu, and Taylor; without being dependent on them. While examining Laura and Gabby’s histories as clones; I don’t feel like this story arc is TRYING to be ‘Innocence Lost’, ‘Target X, ‘the Four Sisters’, 'Riot at Xavier’s’, or 'Planet X’ . It’s very much it’s own story, instead of a continuation of previous stories.
One of the major reasons for this is Mariko doing something different with Laura’s clone narrative; by having her story parallel the Stepford Cuckoos, characters Laura has been around but never really interacted with.
This helps bring out BOTH a different side to Laura and a different side to the Cuckoos that we didn’t get to see before. Mariko examines Laura’s, Gabby’s, and the Cuckoos motivations thoroughly in this series; making the big motivating factor being different characters psychologies and points of view.
The Cuckoos motivations ARE relatable- wanting their family back. They also both connect to Laura’s inability to somewhat see herself as a individual- by dressing and acting as one; and Gabby’s desire for independence-be having different personalities and personal tastes. Esme wants to both be THE ONLY Cuckoo while simultaneously wanting to merge the Cuckoos power; essentially being permanently connected with her sisters.
Another big change is the risk factor; before in All New Wolverine there was little fear that Gabby was at risk. While Taylor did put her in dangerous situations; rarely as a reader did you question whether or not Gabby would come out of the situation okay. The change is, Mariko’s willingness to allow BOTH Gabby and Laura to go through conflict. While Gabby WILL more than likely come out of the situation physically unharmed, there is the question of-'How will this situation change or shape Gabby as a person?’ What changes will Laura and Gabby go through because of this story arc?
Good writing NEEDS conflict, because conflict is the biggest connector to humanity we have. Conflict can be anything from 'I lost my keys’ to more complicated conflicts like 'Who am I?’. Conflict can be Internal (man vs. self) or External (man vs. nature, man vs. man/society, ect…). But the universal truth is that everyone will experience some form of conflict in our lives and that conflict will shape us.
These elements are what have made the recent X-23 solo a really solid book (well that and Juann Cabal/Nolan Woodard’s art and inking…). It’s also the upcoming problems I see with the recent 'Uncanny’ and 'X-Force’.
Kelly Thompson, Matthew Rosenberg, and Ed Brisson ARE right-The series hasn’t released yet, so I can’t completely comment whether or not it will have these elements or not; but all of the indicators from solicits and interviews DON’T look very convincing…
If Brisson , Rosenberg, or Thompson were introducing a new villain- I’d give them the benefit of the doubt; but the character they are using is the rather overused Apocalypse.
If they were showing a different side of Apocalypse through some difference in plot, that would be one thing-but from the looks of it, it’s playing off 1995 storyline 'Age of Apocalypse’ where David Haller creates a new timeline when accidentally killing his father after traveling back in time to kill Magneto; the only minor difference appears to be is having the 'Horsemen of Salvation’ and kinda in representing Nate Grey as a messiah (a role he regularly rejected…).
We’ve seen the mutant 'messiah’ before-with Jean, with Rachel, with Cable, and with Hope. At the very LEAST you could have done someone NOT tied to the Summer’s…
We’ve seen Angel as a horseman; maybe having Angel being 'Life’ instead of 'Death’ will bring out a new facet to his character, but from the looks of it, the story will heavily hinge on his on again/off again relationship with Betsy.
Are we seeing a new team lineup-from the looks of it, not really; the focus seems to be Iceman, Jean Grey, Beast, Cannonball, Storm, Bishop, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Psylocke and X-23.
*X-23 and Cannonball are really the only new additions.
*One of the covers heavily featured Legion, hinting that he will AGAIN play a part in kicking this story off.
*Bishop in the original 'Age of Apocalypse’ storyline was the character to notice the timeline WAS wrong and fought to fix it-so it’s not all that surprising to include him.
*X-Man was the main protagonist in the original 'Age of Apocalypse’- maybe their plan is to SUBVERT this trope by making HIM the antagonist and thus making a commentary around organized religion…but I kind of doubt it….
Pixie, Glob, Rockslide, and Armor are SUPPOSED to be the Horsemen of Apocalypse but I am somewhat doubtful that this will largely impact their characters developmentally any more than 'Age of X’ impacted Julian’s, or any of the OTHER ALTERNATE UNIVERSES have largely impacted any of the characters.
Can playing with old storyline’s and nostalgia BE fun: yes, but too much nostalgia becomes empty. It becomes desperately trying to grasp a time period long past that you are inevitably romanticizing and coloring with personal connections. It inevitably showcases how out of touch the writer is with current society…
It would have been one thing if X-Men HADN’T been over utilizing past teams and stories- but in the last few years we got 'the Original Five’ (both time displaced and living adult members…), the Exiles, Generation X, New Mutants/X-Factor hybrid, BloodStorm, Gold with a Claremont reminiscent team, Gambit and Rogue back together, Kitty and Colossus back together, Magneto reverting back to his roots as a villain, Emma reverting back to her roots as a villain, Xavier back, and multiple extinction storyline’s trying to be M-Day or the Legacy Virus…
It would be one thing if X-Men had taken a break from AU characters- but in the last few years we’ve had time displaced Original Five, Jimmy Hudson, baby Cable, Raze, clone Kid Apocalypse, BloodStorm back in focus, Old Man Logan, Exiles characters, ect…
Maybe this title is different and people are 'Pre-Judging’ it; but when in the last few years has Marvel given fans a lot to go on?! The recent interview could essentially be copied and pasted from 'ResurrXtion’-promising big changes before reverting to a overplayed status quo… Maybe this IS a new take on 'Age of Apocalypse’- but hasn’t Marvel promised that beforehand?! They promised a new take with the 'Original Five’ coming back, with the extinction plotline, and with countless other storyline’s-yet Jean and Scott’s romance is heavily the focus, the mutant population inexplicably recovers from mass genocide without any lasting effects, and little character growth actually happens.
I’m not saying this to 'rain on the writers parades’ or target them; but this has been promised BEFORE and all signs indicate this IS the exact same empty nostalgia we’ve seen for years…
I’m not writing this to be negative or condescending. I WANT to be wrong…but I don’t think I am, because I honestly don’t think the writers WOULD be getting defensive if this wasn’t a by the numbers homage to 'Age of Apocalypse’. You don’t NEED to get defensive if you have a trump card or brand new idea up your sleeve.
Whether you love or hate Morrison, Whedon, or Kyle/Yost; there’s no denying they are iconic runs BECAUSE they did something new.
Morrison created villain Cassandra Nova and countless other characters, utilized Emma as a main character to create a new dynamic, and examined population changes with having Mutants become the majority and create their own culture. Even Morrison’s representation of Scott, while controversial, still took a new look at Scott as a character.
Whedon created several characters including Danger, Armor, and Blindfold; explored Xavier’s more questionable decisions, and focused heavily on character dynamics and psychology of the characters. One of the defining relationships was the conflict between Emma and Kitty; utilizing old animosity but examining it under a new lens of Emma being a hero and interacting with Kitty (they did not interact when Emma was part of Generation X).
Kyle and Yost created X-23, creating a new examination into Wolverine’s mythos and a new dynamic. They heavily utilized some of the newer teen characters, to again create a new dynamic. While using older stories (Nimrod, William Stryker, Magik’s origin) by injecting new characters they created something refreshing instead of empty nostalgia. It also examines the darker side of X-Men, by questioning the choice of teens being recruited to essentially be a 'paramilitary group’…
Are all these writers still using old storyline’s- yes, but by adjusting lineups of characters, adding new dynamics, creating new characters, and examining the X-Men under a different social lens: it can dramatically change the story.
The original 'Age of Apocalypse’ also did this when first written by analyzing what the world would be like ruled by Apocalypse and changing character motivations and relationships.
X-Men doesn’t HAVE to change drastically; but it does need some variation. I’ve said this once, and I’ll say it again- I don’t think fans are being unfair by questioning if this was a good choice to semi reboot the X-Men. This by all appearances doesn’t LOOK like a 'Fresh Start’. Sorry but people are going to 'pre-judge’ things; it’s one of the things that sucks about being a writer.
It would be one thing if X-Men had been knocking it out of the park storyline wise, for the past few years- but the truth is, is they haven’t. You can’t blame fans for being tired of giving Marvel a chance only to watch them make the same pitfalls over and over again.
If you don’t want the criticism-maybe take a chance and try something NEW…
X-23 PROVES Marvel CAN get it right- they just need to put the same thought into the X-teams that they put into her solo.

Pacific Rim 2: Uprising Thoughts and Feelings (Spoilers)
First thing off the bat: not nearly as good as the first film but I don't judge things based off of it's predecessors. I like to watch things as individual movies due to a number of reasons, one of them being so I don't overhype myself and end up hating a franchise because of one product not living up to par. Okay? Cool.
I want to get the cons out of the way first because that's the easy part. The look of the film is not nearly as impressive as the original, which is strange considering the previous film came out half a decade earlier. The colours don't pop as much and the camera work has lots left to be desired. There were strange zooms and pans that didn't work out for the movie and made some serious scenes not so serious due to the strange camera work. Most of the time, however, it wasn't interesting at all.
Not enough kaiju. Like. Three kaiju. And a mega kaiju. How dare.
Too many characters I don't care about. Like the nerd kid who died. I don't even remember his name outside of "Boob Job Kid" because his father is a plastic surgeon and the fact that people will proceed to call the movie racist because he was the only Indian recruit. 😐 (Sucks he died though because he was a cute character regardless, even though it was hella obvious he was going to be the one to go down because of how wimpy he was and some foreshadowing.) There's also Vik, a hard ass girl who's friendship works like brawling in Skyrim and who coincidentally looks like my ex girlfriend and has the same haircut. A bunch of others too idgaf. They should have stuck with Jake, Nate, Amara, Shao, Hermann, and Newt. Those were the ones who mattered, not the bajillions of other characters.
I do not judge a movie based on special effects, and here's why: it does not impede my overall enjoyment of a movie. I am a fan of old movies with practical effects, and most of the time, even though real materials were used, they look fake, and most of the time faker than CGI. I also watch almost exclusively animated films, which aren't realistic looking at all. Movies, especially ones that do not take place in our reality (Nightmare on Elm Street, Marvel, etc) cannot look like real life no matter what you do, so I find it tiring whenever someone complains about the graphics. I care about immersion with characters and writing. The visuals are only there to represent objects and creatures. I have never, and will never, judge a video game by it's graphics nor will I for a movie unless it is something along the lines of The Amazing Bulk, in which they didn't put any effort in at all. The CGI was not a problem for me, nor did it put me out of the film.
...
Except for one occassion, when Newt was looking out onto the drones and the camera panned out. It looked very out of place and that was jarring for me, but that was the only instance of the visuals in the CGI department pulling me out. Everything else looked fine to me. Then again, I might be biased because I enjoy much more rough looking films. I don't like too much polish.
The pacing, however, was hot garbage. The action scenes were perfect but everything else was... Not. The kaiju didn't come in until much later. Normal scenes were either too long or too short, and all scenes that were meant to be emotional were much too fast, like with our two gay science buddies and the family getting crushed. Like, bro. With the timing and look of the scene it was borderline comedic.
---
The characters are weaker here, I am not going to lie. Hermann, Shao and Amara are the only good guys with motivations that are easy to follow through without any confusion. Jake isn't a very good protagonist. A lot of his story is quite vague, and his past with Nate is fuzzy and possibly homoromantic if you "turn your head sideways and squint". Amara is a young girl of roughly 15 who labouralsy built her own mini Jaeger called "Scrapper", and became involved in the training program after being caught by the cops for building an unregistered Jaeger. She built the Jaeger because she had a hunch that the kaiju would come back. I mean, being 5 years old and watching your entire family getting stomped on by some macro scalie's wet dream would make anyone paranoid of another attack coming.
I'm gonna get this out of the way; the Jaegers were not used for normal civilian police work as I've seen at least one Tumblr user put it. That is ridiculous. The only logical way to stop a Jaeger is with a Jaeger. The one time saw the blue beauty bot come out to play is when Scrapper was found by the cops and tried to escape detainment. The drones were also being placed on military BASES around the world in case of another kaiju or more homemade Jaegers started popping up, not to flatten a robber or punt a rogue helicopter in Saudi Arabia.
Back to characters.
Gottleib isn't a fucking mechanic/chemist. Like, I get it. They needed someone who worked closely alongside Newt after he went corporate, but Hermann even said life science isn't really his schtick. He's many things, but that field of science was N-- ohhhhhh. Fuck. I forgot that they linked brains for a moment. Oh my god while typing this I just got smashed with a wave of fridge brilliance. Never mind.
Oh, but as I said, Hermann has motivation and is the only character outside of the main villain to be quite passionate in the movie. He was an absolute treat to see on screen, and was the true hero of the film. But that's a pro, not a con. Sorry.
There is one thing that truly upset me in the film and I am sure most of you know by now, but Mako died in a helicopter crash very early in the film before she was able to get more than a few lines of dialog. I get that they wanted a tragedy early on, but it was just so disrespectful to can one of the main characters from the previous film in such a gruesome fashion. Not to mention her message was more or less a MacGuffin to get the Gipsy Avenger to a secluded space to duke out with Obsidian Fury for that sweet, sweet tomato surprise.
The reason why the kaiju came to fuck shit up is dumb but also makes sense in a way. People have pointed out that Mt. Fuji is not the only place to get ahold of rare elements but the plan was to blow up the mountain and chain react with other volcanoes, so the logic lies that it is easier to go to a volcano that already has the minerals needed rather than meticulously searching for other places with these specific materials and then go somewhere. It wasn't specified what these materials were EXACTLY, so whether or not the monsters could have just kamakzied at Yellowstone is unknown, or rather kept intentionally vague so there wouldn't be even more plot holes added to the pile.
If you want to know what the hell I am talking about, the film explains that the Precursors sent the kaiju that teleported from the rim were all on their way to Mt. Fuiji to cause a huge volcanic domino effect, cover the earth in volcanic ash, and kill all life as we know it for the Precursors' gain, which is still largely unknown. Kaiju blood isn't just pretty, but it reacts violently with certain rare terrestrial elements and minerals. Mt. Fuji is the only place in the world that is not only an active volcano, but has such a high concentration of what the Precursors need that sending these large beasts on suicide missions will guarantee success on killing all life on the planet with as little hassle as possible. It's easier to go to a small grocery store with everything you need in one place versus going to a mall with a bunch of different stores spaced out with everything you need in different places and in different amounts.
Once again, kinda dumb, kinda generic, but it makes sense once you break it down.
---
Some are saying that the movie sucks the military's dick, and yeah I can kinda see that but not really. I might be desensitized at this point due to the sheer amount of military cock-sucking Hollywood does but I am just not seeing it here. Independence Day and Michael Bay films are super obvious with their gross idolization of American armed forces. I don't think a single, real military branch was even mentioned in the film and the fighting was controlled by some military-esque figures, sure, but the movie featured two rascals growing up to being responsible in battle. Once again I just might be desensitized at this point so if anyone has any points they want to give they can elaborate in the notes. I'm genuinely interested.
<b>Okay, now we're getting into some actual spoilers here.</b>
Shao was set up to be the villain of the film. She is a woman who owns a weapons manufacturing company that created remote controlled Jaegers that are safer for use and easier to handle. With how things were going, the film led us to believe that her company was remote controlling other decommissioned Jaegers so that hers would get approved and she gets loads of money.
H O W E V E R
When Gipsy got a hold of the rogue Jaeger, Obsidion Fury, and peeled back the helmet, it wasn't a human or a computer. It was a kaiju brain. Oh dear.
You seemed to have noticed that I haven't really mentioned Newt very much in this little thoughts and analysis. As it turns out, he's the main villain in the film, and boy is he one hell of a bad guy. Whenever he drifted with the brain in the first movie, he got a connection. Then he shared it with Hermann, making it Hermann's first time... But not Newt. In a disturbing/funny scene in the movie, we get quite the shocker. Earlier he mentioned someone named Alice, whom we assumed to be his spouse.
It was that kaiju brain. He fell under control of it.
If you recall from the first film, kaiju work as a sort of hivemind that is connected through both our dimension and theirs. Whenever he connected with it, his brain was shortly apart of the hive. His brain couldn't handle the power of the brain alone. They took him, but slowly. He kept coming back for more and more, for a reason unknown--an urge, perhaps--until he eventually lost himself to the mind and became completely under their control. Possessed, if you will.
The reason why he sold out to Shao and went away from Hermann was to get private access to powerful robots that he can personally tamper without anyone noticing. He took brains harvested and studied on by PPD and implemented them into the robots in secret so that they can destroy the Jaegers owned by PPD and revive the portal into our own world. It wasn't him. It was the kaiju.
Pretty much no one was anticipating that. Some call it stupid, I was on the edge of my seat. Newt is my favourite character from the first film and I love me some villain angst so I was satisfied.
<b>Okay, time for the pros. (Even though I cited some anyway)</b>
The action kicked all kinds of ass. It was fast paced, yet you knew what was going on which is somewhat of a rarity in modern action films. No misuse of shaky cam, no editing tricks, no seizure-inducing jumpcuts that Nolan is infamous for, no 10 million missle follow-throughs like Bay (there was one though). It was fun, it was exciting, and the only colourful moments in the film. The camera work wasn't revolutionary, but it did serve its purpose and made the last/only kaiju battle something epic.
The acting is decent. I am not sure how old the child characters' actors are, but they were good for the roles they were in. Most child actors are quite shit--not gonna sugar coat it. That's actually one of the reasons why I'm avoiding IT and A Wrinkle in Time. John Boyega was of course charming and smooth, even if his character was quite shallow. Everyone knows that Hermann and Newt absolutely stole the whole show. Their acting was marvelous! Charlie Day does very well as a villain and I hope to see him in more antagonistic roles in the future. You believed him to be evil, but not quite there. You knew that he was there somewhere, but at the same time you believe that he means business.
Oh my god, that twist! At first, you think Newt is just kinda being douchey because he got so wrapped up in money but no. Oh no. All of the weird little things, the brushing off of Hermann but still wanting to be around him just later, inviting him to see his "wife". Having little glimmers of his past self but fading away. It all makes so much sense when the reveal is dropped. He said it in a way that he tried to come off nonchalant but his voice cracked and his eyes moistened. That's good ass acting, Charlie. Holy fuck. People underestimate you, and that's a shame. The movie wanted me to believe that he was being controlled by the enemy and I did. I fucking did.
He genuinely cares about Hermann, and confirmed by Charlie he has romantic feelings for him that are reflected by Hermann. During the confrontation he was trying to stop choking Hermann, and thankfully Shao came in and broke it up before he could do any further damage. Hermann stopping Shao from killing Newt because he knows he's still there, he saw it.
The photos on the desk, the yearning, the dialogue. Ten years away. They would have been together if it weren't for those accursed aliens.
The story itself wasn't too great until it got to the third act. Everything came together and everyone brought their all for it and it showed.
Dude the DeSiGnS. Those Jaegers were so sleek, dawg! Each one was really cool! My favourite was Scrapper. Everyone says that she's just BB8 but I say that she is a reference to old-school gundam where the younger members of a team would usually have the smaller bots. A lot of those characters tend to have faster moving mechs with much more evasive maneuvers and with a cuter design. I'm sure people are associating her with BB8 because both are cute and can roll. The kaiju weren't as cool looking with the exception of the Mega Kaiju that Newt stitched together with his machines.
Ohhhhhh, yes. There's a Mega Kaiju. If there were categories in this film, it would have surpassed Category 6. Fuck me man, probably Category 8 or 9! That fucker was HUGE! AND COOL! And scary. That thing took out three Jaegers and it had to take a Gipsy nose-diving from the stratosphere and hitting direct impact to kill it. The only way that Jake and Amara survived was Shao controlling Scrapper to smash-roll them into safety.
Oh yeah. Shao is a badass. Forgot to mentionnnnn.
The music, like with every film it seems, served its purpose to get us hyped when we needed to be and cry when we needed to. I've noticed that unless your score has a different genre (John Carpenter films,) has a catchy melody (Pirates of the Caribbean, anyone?) or has unique instrumentation (anything that graces Danny Elfman's fingertips) it tends to fade out into the generic. Orchestra is fine and dandy and all, but we don't keep flicking back to video game soundtracks because of its supposed grandeur. It gets stuck in our heads, keeps us coming back. Music ties us to our souls, man! And music ties a movie together.
Generic music makes a generic film. But at least it isn't shit, or barely there. Or so loud you can't hear dialogue, another problem most films have during big scenes.
<b>In Conclusion</b>
This film is not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. Most sequels aren't. This is a stepping stone movie. What's that?
A stepping stone movie is a sequel that isn't that great used to setup a bigger, better movie. This is the Iron Man 2 of Pacific Rim.
To be frank, there's a lot of similarities to Iron Man 2 in this film. Military fuckupery, evil corporate masterminds, extremists, drones. Lots of it. Even though Iron Man 2 sucks, it was the tie into Iron Man 3, arguably one of the best Marvel movies in the MCU. They are called stepping stones because most of the resources needed for the better project are used for the finale movie, but you need something to tide over the audience/help go into the other film if the plot needs some explaining to do that can't be done in one movie/set up certain things and concepts that simply cannot be done in one movie lest you want a clusterfuck a la Batman v Superman.
It isn't the greatest film, but it is not a dumpster fire either. It all depends on perspective. If you want your fancy tickled if you like stuff like Tokusatsu and action movies, go for it. If you just want a fun time, go for it. If you want to see something Pacific Rim but not something crazy good, go for it. If you are a die-hard fan, however, you may want to avoid it if you want to see it as perfect as the original. There are PLENTY of problems with the film and I understand when fans express their displeasure, but please for the love of everything lovely, do not attack others who do like the film.
Don't call them names, don't stomp on their opinions, and don't accuse them of being this or that because of two unfortunate deaths in the film involving POC with one of them being a woman. There are lots of POC in the movie and yeah it sucks that two nonwhite people died, but just remember to not immediately assume that something or someone is racist due to this. The last thing I want is someone to feel guilty by being shamed on the internet for enjoying a harmless movie that had an Asian woman and an Indian boy die in it.
<b>All in all, I give this movie 6.5 to a 7 out of 10. Not the best, not the worst. Could have been either.</b>

oh shit yall send lots of questions hoo nelly answering almost all of them under the cut ,,, im gunan try and answer more technical ones first then fun ones and ones about the mod later so u dont gotta scroll all the way to the bottom for the good deets
Hi! I'm still kinda new to the blog and I was wondering what are the 'do and do-not' kind question I should do? Because im sure theres always that one ask thats just Innapropiated, like that one of Michael 'taking advantage og high Jeremy' that was just not cool.  i got this ask a lot so ill be clear with yall. im just not a big angst fan? so sending michael asks about his anxiety nonstop and about how he had a panic attack in the bathroom over and over again wasnt that fun. usually if it pertains the musical though you should be find sending an ask about it? but sometimes i get asks that are like “jeremy ur nothing and how does it feel knowing u fucked everything up” like homie how i think its feels? how u think hes gunna react to that? i made this blog to negate a lot of negativity in my own life so i can promise u im going to be answering asks mostly positive always forever. that being said tho i sometimes get asks pertaining to a few things that ive dealt with in the past and these topics make me very very uncomfortable. dont send asks about these topics please. this is the no no list
-self harm, cancer, suicide, rape, parent death, car accidents, sudden death.
What was your inspiration for this blog? hoo boy well,,, ultimately i thought of them rooming together and got emotional and made a huge list of headcanons and was like ,,, why not run an askblog for a bit ill just abandon it after three asks lets have some fun. but somehow im still here and i got sucked in by the complexity of michael and jeremy. i know that sounds kinda silly but just, as someone who is dealing with a lot of similar things, like dependency issues and abandonment issues and depression and anxiety, having these fun functioning character to explore was such a gift for me. i believe honestly thats why im still here and doing this. being able to try and portray a healthy relationship and a healthy way of coping and growing has helped me a lot this past month and given me an outlet i didnt have before. TBH THO the main reason i made this blog if imma be real with u guys id because i didnt like the treatment of a lot of these issues in the fandom. it made me very upset to see depression used as an plot device and michaels dependency issues treated as romantic so i wanted to make a blog that had little to no angst. ANYWAYS somehow im still here ,,, gvrkjvrnkjfd sorry i rambled
honestly I just wanna say first that I love his blog and your art and you're so cool and kind!! a question would be (I'm not sure if you've answered this before or not) but is there like an on going story here, or is it mostly just answering questions with the characters set in this universe? (if that makes sense I'm sorry!) thank you, you're super awesome! ❤️  djrnjg first off thank u so much aaaa,, ive kind of answered this before but its ok its been a while since then! but um i do kinda have a story but how howdy i sure am dragging my feet. the story isn a hUGE OVERARCHING EPIC OF WOE AND THIS PERSON IS UPSET AND THIS PERSON IS MAD AT THIS PERSON its just michael and jeremy getting together. i have a plan and ive talked to a few people on how i want it to happen but ive gained like ,,,, 6,000 followers since then and im kinda nervous BUT ILL DO MY BEST but also please understand that i do this for fun for myself and if i dont get to it im so so so sorry woops
i know this has been said before but i'm really really happy w how you're handling so many aspects of their characters. i.e. michael being trans, michael and jeremy's anxiety, michael's dependency issues, and other stuff i'm too tired to think of. you made the characters have even more depth than they did in the play and i'm rly grateful for the way you're dealing w my favorite boys. (also your richjake is suuuper adorable) ahhhhhh thank u so much? i talked a bit about this on my main but im really glad people are happy with my decision on this blog because im suPER SUPER NERvous anytime i post an ask dealing with these things. (ask hachi or nate i always message them like freaking out and send them my scripts and asks and wait for them to tell me its ok before i post it omg) also like i talked about before i love,,, having these fun stoner gamer boys to explore these issues with. im honestly shocked by how many people also deal with dependency issues because when i first listened to the musical i was so overwhlemed by the song michael int he bathroom because i had never heard someone basically write “dependency issue: the song” and it felt so so so good to realize i wasnt alone in this pit of despair i fall into so easily aha. but im!! glad everyone is ok with this wild ride im on right now (also thank u so much i struggle writing rich and jake but i get so emotional cause they would TOTES call each other babe)
how come you just use sketch form for most of your drawing (sketches and uses sketch for the final result)? im ,,, not really sure what this is asking but i thnk its along the lines of why do i only sketch my answers?? and i do that because dude do u see how often i post and how lONG some of them are. i made this blog for fun and i love doing comics but i hate lineart and coloring and if i tried to churn out finished pics for every post id defs have given up a few asks in,, shrugs
I want to say I love your little comics they're so funny! How long does it take you to make a comic? Are any of them based on your experiences? Ok have a nice day!  thank you! i love my little comics too! it usually takes me anywhere from an hour to five hours if im dragging my ass or talking on discord while im drawing. it can be kinda exhausting but since i took my break ive also been like, starting long comics one day and finishing them another day which, before i would do it all in one sitting then post it hahha. AS FOR EXPERIENCE the first half of the lifeguard comic was based on real life! we were stuck stoned up there for like an hour or two? but we didnt have anyone to help us but we got down eventually!! the wendys comic is also something i did because man!! i need to compliment food workers if they do a good job!! ummmmm just like jenna i also have a friend that said HAHA BYE and moved to cali and she is also lIVING IT UP and doing really well for herself and shes very independent and shes very inspiring to me! hmm i think thats it besides i used to have movie nights with my dad all the time too except we would watch my fave animated movies and sometimes lord of the rings cause my dad loved that
What kinds of things can we NOT ask ? What kinds of things do you WANT us to ask ? i covered the what not to ask in the first question so!!! um if my askbox is open and u want to respond to previous asks ive answered for the boys that would be so so so rad. sometimes im done with a certain ask and i have nothing to add but sometimes ive got more to say but am looking for an opportunity! that being said it made me really happy that i got a lot of asks about pj? shes not going to the main focus of any more asks but!!! i was nervous to introduce her and im glad u guys like her shes fun to write. but overall just general asks i can make a big ol fun story out of so!! dont worry too much about what to ask, if its something ud ask a real person and not like “lol what if ur dad died” ur gunna be fine probably
Hi! Not a question but your blog is so sweet and refreshing! I actually really appreciate that you refuse angst, that stuff tends to rub me the wrong way in fandoms... Keep taking good care of these boys ! gggg thank u!!! it means a lot to me that a lot of people are backing me up on this! i mean if u are an angst fan there are a lot of askblogs that explore that!! so its not in short supply bmc askblog fandoms got something for everyone
Which drawing program do you use?? i use paint tool sai and my tablet is a cintiq !!
this isn't really related to the faq but that bakunawa boy reference was great I LOVE THAT FIC MAN!!! the line was originally a little diff in that ask but i changed it cause ,,,, i could,,,,
an art style question. how do you keep the design of characters consistent from frame to frame? my characters they look a lil different every time I draw em (or a lot different) and it tends to disrupt the flow of my comics/animations ohh boy hoo wee props for doing animations im too scared to give that a whirl but!! it helps that i draw all the panels for an ask on one canvas! so if my next panel is going to be the same character in the same spot just in a diff pose i keep the lower layer on just at low opacity so i can use it as a ref! that helps me a lot!
Sorry if I'm nosy or rude, but are you reflecting Micheal Anxiety, Panic attacks and depence? iii think this is asking if i reflect my own issues onto them boys? and if so then yes i do. i dont place any of my own personality or anything on the boys but i do use them as a way to help me learn how to cope with my own shit and i try to deal with their issues in the healthiest way possible while also keeping in mind they are flawed individuals aaa
what are your pronouns??? and maybe your main blog??  im a cis girl so she/her is good! and my main is squigglegigs! also that being said IF YOU SEE THE USERNAME SQUIGGLEGIGS ANYWHERE JUST?? ASSUME ITS ME?? i have a twitter and an instagram and my tumblr account
((Hello mod will Michael and Jeremy eventually someday get together. I love them.)) if all goes according to plan yes! if i get overwhelmed and stop having fun on this blog then no! sorry thems the breaks but! i do want them to get together so HOPEFULLY
going off on that confrience on pornogrefy for birds, Im geussing jeremy has played Hatoful Boyfriend. am I wrong? well it wasnt intended as that ref and i dont know anything about hatoful boyfriend but i can see jerm finding it and playing it so, sure homie! the pornography for birds thing is a my brother my brother and me reference! i love that show and them boys so give it a scope!
I'm crying bcuz Michael said he's in love with Jeremy and it's beautiful yeah that boy is DEEP IN love with his bro bro
Any advice for running an ask blog?? (Ps i love this blog keep it up) personally whats worked for me so far is doing just sketches for art. honestly ive been able to work so much more and post so much more often while also trying to work on my expressions and poses! also taking my own experiences and shaping them to fit the characters has been SO MUCH FUN. th most important thing tho is,,, dont overwork urself dude. if ur having a fun time it shows. if ur just forcing urself to churn out material and its not fun? like shit we doing this for free dont push urself? idk idk overall being looser with my art and writing the dialogue before hand has been the most helpful for me for this askblog! ive run a bunch before including @ask-maz and ive run that sporadically for ,, three or four years? its so funny cause u can see my art style juMP AROUND SO MUCH but i love that blog and i only update it like every other month or so but?? i still like doing it and no on likes those posts but it makes me smile so ANYWAYS
~ok from here on its mostly just me replying to nice messages or people asking me personal questions that dont pertain to askguyslikeus so!!~
I just wanted to say I really really love your blog and just your art in general!! Keep up the good work and hope you're having fun! thank u!!! i am having fun and im glad u enjoy it!!
What other musicals do you like? :0  i really like heathers A LOT. i also like doctor horrible i know thats not technically a musical but i just relistened to it and im emotional. i like dear evan hansen but it makes me really sad so i can only take it in moderation! ummm rent? chicago?? music man? now im just naming musicals i was in rip. being in a musical fandom is a new thing to me? i was really into heathers last year but didnt really interract with the fandom at SO THIS IS SUPER NEW?? ive never been into a musical as much as im into bmc and heathers tho
tell us a little bit about urself!! u seem v cool i am squigs or fork!! im 24 and work fulltime as a barista at starbucks! i get high on the beach with my friend gwen a lot and drink wayy to many slushies, my tv shows are brooklyn nine nine and bobs burgers right now! i table at conventions sometimes and sell my art as merch and whatnot and i cosplay as a hobby as well. im pretty boring but i draw a lot and always carry my big sketchbook with me and im pretty sure its given me back issues BUT OH WELL HAHA also i am very not cool THE TRUTH COMES OUT
Who do you most relate to from bmc and why? like ,,, a mix of michael and christine with a sprinkle of jeremy i guess ahaha i relate to michaels dependency issues and overarching positive attitude and love of music, i relate to christines bright disposition and the need to not stick to one set thing? like she loves theater cause she can be sO MANY PEOPLE and like same homie thats why i cosplay. and jeremys need to be likes while also ability to put himself out there is very relatable. i also identify strongly with his dad issues idk idk whats good
Also -- just thank you for how you handled all the panic attack and anxiety attack asks. I used to deal with anxiety attacks multiple times a day and it just was really nice that it was positive and not them having one. Thank you, sincerely. ahhhhhh ur so welcome i,,, have anxiety and it sucks and i deal with panic attacks like everyday at work so i dont really wanna come home and draw someone having one i guess? im glad its helping other people too tho!
Dude- I love your art? Actually so much? It's... I love it. The whole sketch-ish way your art style is, and the way you color, and the expressions! I'm so glad I found your work - you've given me so much inspiration. Keep doin what you're doin and I hope you have a good day! I just wanna say... I'm crying over that post about Michael and his anxiety? cuz I know how it can feel that you're only your flaws and weaknesses, but Michael just tells that to screw off in the most wonderful way and I'm?? thank you so much for that post, I bookmarked it for future times when I can't look past my depression... honestly, that post made my day (along with every other post on this blog), thank you for being such a lovely part of this fandom ,,,, im,,,, im scared of a lot of this fandom tbh but if i can be something good that come out of it and my love of these boys and desire to show them functioning together in a healthy way can help other people its so much more than i ever thought id ever be able to do. i am blown away everyday by the support ive been given on this blog and i might be crying right now because i never thought id be able to touch other people like this and i just. im really glad yall are here with me for all this.
(To the mod: You are a beautiful person that I highly respect. I love this blog and what you set out to do. thanks for giving something that makes me smile and gives me something to look forward to everyday, keep up the good work! ❤ ) hey im still crying from the previous ask aaaaa im honestly so emotional

GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE COMPLIMENT ME WHEN IM WORKING DUDE LIKE IM SO GLAD IT MADE U DO THIS!!! IM SMILING REALLY BIG!!

do u love michael mell with all of ur heart, mod?  i really truly do man what a fucking good ass character
hi squigs i love you! i love your content too and i hope u have a good day pal :>  WHAT A SWEET BEAN!!! THANK YOU?? OMG
I'm just saying that recent ask you did with Michael really hit me hard because I really related to it and I started crying because it made me realize that I've been pining my self worth on everything my anxiety causes and I'm so much more than that. Thank you, so much for that I really needed it because I'm in a really bad place right now. <3 -for the mod i legit cry everytime i get asks or dms like this cause once again the idea that im helping other people is so ovwehelming i love you??? i let myself just be”depressed” for ahwile and by that i mean i just,, let my sadness consume me and i was scared of getting better cause the sadness was all i knew for so long and just. its so easy to think u are ur illness but you are so much more. soooo much more man.
I relate A Lot to Michael so the way you portray him in the blog is really good, and I think it's really awesome you refuse to like?? do terrible stuff and answer bad questions just bc people wanna see that. You run this blog really well 👌  AHHHH THis is the biggest compliment thank u so much ,,, i get real anxious bout this blog soemtiems but then yall send me sweet things like this and its worth it man
Hey mod, just know you're a really cool person. Thanks for running this blog in the first place. Keep doing the great work.  thank you!!!! for ur support!!!!
not really a question!! i just wanted to say your posts on this blog always brighten my day and you're really an incredible artist and person, keep rockin on my dude!! *clutching my heart* the fuck this is so sweet
1 .I just wanted to say your blog is really awesome! It's very lovely. I also like how you made michael trans and like handled it? (just with how all the characters treat him and stuff its v nice). Your art is super duper! Thanks for running this awesome blog! 2. Hey! This isn't a question but I wanted to say that I appreciate michael being trans!! As a trans boy it's just rly awesome to see something like that casually thrown into an ask blog without making it a huge weird deal :D immm,,, i kinda really love the idea of michael being trans cause a lot of my trans male friends are actually pretty confident in their skin and michael is a very confident character? and u rarely see that with trans representation and its so refreshing to see it portrayed well. im trying to do that here but again if! i do anything wrong let me know!
how did you first get into art? (also i really love your blog, it's amazing!) ive been drawing as long as i remember! ive got mad adhd and wasnt diagnosed until late in ym life so i would just draw nonstop in my classes ahaha i used to read the sunday comics a lot and they really inspired me to try and make comics of my own too!! (and omg thank u)
someone also asked me if i went to church or was religious but tumblr ate the ask but i used to go to church a lot as a kid but im currently not religious at all aaa
ok holy shit that was a lot but thanks again to everyone i legit cry a lot about how supportive u all are thank u so much aaaa

American Idol Season 17 Hollywood Night 1 Review
I'm back with the Idol reviews, baby!!! We'll see how long this lasts before I get too busy to continue or keep up. But for now, let's talk about the first night of Hollywood week.
Lines of Ten Solos
Laci Kaye Booth - Natural Woman - Refreshing to hear a different take on this song than we've heard before on Idol. I really like her smoky tone. However, she does this thing where she sort of hiccups into some of her words and I'm finding it slightly irritating. But we'll see how big of a deal that becomes later on, I guess.
Alejandro Aranda - Sorry - This was laughably cheesy and mediocre. And I say mediocre only out of respect for the fact that he was mostly in tune. I personally hated this. Breathy, whiny, annoying. Give me a break, y'all.
Madison VanDenburg - Already Gone - She is insanely good by any standard. The fact that she is this good at 17 blows my mind and makes me so far beyond jealous. The control, the tone, the range... my god. I'm mad.
Margie Mays - Lay Me Down - This was okay. She sang mostly the correct notes. She bafflingly changed keys between the first two lines she sang. I just don't care.
Logan Johnson - Sensible Heart - This was fine and did absolutely nothing for me, and I have nothing else to say about it.
Eddie Island - I'll Follow You into the Dark - His voice is bigger than I thought. This was okay in parts, rough in others. Don't care.
Shawn Robinson - A Change is Gonna Come - This guy can sing. I love his soft, delicate tone. His sense of pitch is incredible. Every note in every run is perfectly spot on. Crazy.
Colby Swift - Teardrop Falls - Luke did a good thing by asking him to sing this without the guitar. Once he lost the guitar, I really enjoyed this. He has a very nice tone, and I really liked the song for his voice.
Ashton Gill - I Can't Make You Love Me - This was really unpleasant. Her voice is whiny and nasally. Just not a very good singer.
Laine Hardy - She Talks to Angels - Yes!! Sir!! That tone is fire and smoke and dynamite and I. Love. It. He has so much more power and confidence these days. Laine is back and 100% better. Y'all look out.
Jade Flores - Unchained Melody - This was a flawless vocal. The control she has over her voice is amazing. She is like shades of a much less abrasive Carrie Underwood. Absolutely gorgeous.
Myra Tran - Chandelier - I thought her first audition was fantastic. This, however, was impressive without moving me in any way. It was good.
Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon - Beautiful - Y'all, I was on the floor after this performance. That boy can sing like nobody's business. Technical merit, emotional impact, artistry -- he is the whole package if I've ever seen it. I've listened to this at least 25 times since it aired. There's your winner folks. There he is.
Walker Burroughs - Whereabouts - This boy just took on Stevie and gave me all kinds of James Taylor vibes, and I kinda loved it. His tone is so smooth and so pretty.
Nate Walker - I Believe in You and Me - And now here's Nate doing Whitney and he's really making it work. Big aspirations this week and they're not even crashing and burning. Nate has excellent control, and I just love the sound of his voice.
Nick Townsend - Life of the Party - Average, boring, forgettable. I really don't have anything to say about him.
Lauren Engle - Jesus Take the Wheel - This was really bad, just like her first audition. Ridiculous choice of a song that was way too big for her.
Wade Cota - Litost - Okay, let me just tell y'all that the last thing I need on Idol is another person doing 90 seconds of atonal yelling every week. We've already had Phillip and Cade. I've suffered enough. In case you didn't already gather, I thought this was horrible.
Dimitrius Graham - Wind Beneath My Wings - Lord. This was very, very bad, and I suppose no one is going to acknowledge that because of the sad story. The chorus was waaaay oversung and the entire vocal was out of tune.
Group Performances
I'm not gonna run down every group performance individually because I don't care and because I'm irritated about everything that went on during this round. I will just make a few comments.
1) Jade Flores' elimination is one of the most ridiculous decisions I've ever seen on this show. ESPECIALLY when they put Juan Pablo through. Seriously? First of all, Jade was not bad here, based on the footage they showed. She wasn't great, but she wasn't bad. Second, even if she was bad, IT SHOULDN'T HAVE MATTERED after what she did in the solo round before this. That solo performance was one of the best things that has ever happened on Idol in Hollywood. What ever happened to judging contestants based on their entire body of work? I've gotta stop thinking about this, because it's making my blood boil.
2) What is the big deal about forgetting a few lyrics if the vocal is otherwise good? And why is it only a big deal in certain situations? Wade forgets ALL his words, admits to attempting to cut corners by writing the words on his arm, and gets through. Nate's group sings almost every word of The Longest Time incorrectly and gets through. Colby loses his words for a few seconds, then recovers and delivers solid vocals and gets cut. I hate inconsistency. I hate it.
3) Unexpected Vibe gave the only good /group/ performance. Their harmonies were excellent.
4) Singling Nate out the way they did was completely asinine. Y'all morons don't sound like badasses with the "show business is hard, you gotta sing even if you're sick!!!" bullshit. If the dude's body physically cannot produce the sound, there is no point in acting like it's a matter of character, toughness, determination, or willpower. Also, may I just point out that Wade didn't even sing a solo part at all during his group performance, because he forgot ALL the words and his group jumped in to save him. Why wasn't he singled out and forced to sing his whole part with no back up? Where is the consistency?
That's all my thoughts for this episode. Will hopefully be posting a review for the final Hollywood solo round soon.

Chapter 38: Mail Call
Since coming out, I have gotten tons of emails, some have been positive and some have been downright hateful. I will just share them and you can take what you want from them.
Hi Kristin -- I am sure you get this all of the time, and I am so
happy that you do. Wanted to say thank you for having the courage to stand up and be you are fully to the world. My transition began in July of 2013 --- your story, book, and you were the catalyst that allowed the discussion to move front and center to the table in my family --- and ultimately to the path that I am now on and moving forward with my life as a stronger, happier and more authentic self. Thank you again --- your courage allowed others to follow ... I am one of those people and because of the PR work and your TV bookings --- I actually had my step-mom seek me out and say .. hey ... have you seen this? ... I think it would be very relevant. My father is a decorated armed services person ... and needless to say your story was helpful to help him to understand mine. Thanks again - and appreciate your strength. Btw ... you look great and congrats again on
being you!
Jones: It should be put out of his misery--------waste of money , time, resources------I do not want to pay into the pool that finances this. Do i have that right? probably not. Eat a nine mil and save everyone the complete and total uproar.....clown-------obviously (it) isn't wired correctly and should be returned to the builder. Haha
Leslie: Well, I'm currently in the military. I'm a vet and I'm totally against this nonsense. Don't get me wrong, I don't care what you do in the privacy of your own home, but I don't want this crap shoved in my face. I don't support it and I never will.
Apache: Wow, this man needs mental help. He has brought shame and dishonor to a proud organization. The only thing more sickening than this is the morally bankrupt useful idiots showering this person with accolades.
!
Billy: Ok so it came out. Now go back in your ugly.

Oz: Good job promoting liberal brainwashing of our youth. Now more and more kids will grow up "confused." Enjoy your stay in hell.
 !
Debbie: That is like saying that God made a mistake when he made Chris a male. I truly appreciate the service this man gave and the contributions he made to our country. But God doesn't make mistakes.
Toni: No, he doesn't. in fact, he makes many more of us transsexual, intersexed, homosexual and lesbian than you realize. We're here on earth to teach you what it means to love your neighbor as yourself.
Bambi: Toni read the Holy Bible, both testaments. It doesn't matter how many of "you" there are. What you are living is a lie, an abomination, a perversion of God's perfect order.
Stephanie: Does she have any idea what a woman really is? Sounds like she needs a little education on the subject!
Ron: I got a feeling that IT won't be going to any reunions.. Should have gone a little farther with the hazing.
Zoe: Her brothers in arms have been most supportive, so problems at re-unions aren't an issue. A word to the wise: Calling another human being "IT" is perhaps a little unwise. Calling an ex-SEAL "IT" whenever there's any SEALs around is likely to be hazardous to your health.
Terri: Did the job of being a Navy Seal mess him up in the head or is he just messed up?! Either way, changing what God made him isn't good! To have surgery that isn't necessary is mind boggling! And to have something as drastic as this done, makes me wonder about his mental state!!!
KB: ummmmmm, What about all the people around the world that get Breast implants, nose jobs, cleft palate, hair restoration and a number of other things that are done in the thousands per day?
John: This is a good time to start Neutering and Spaying ALL Sick Liberals and FREE the World of their Madness!!
Greg: NO matter what your junk looks like, She is still a HE. Biology made him male and will always be male. I am sorry this guys mental mechanisms are all screwed up and psychologically he feels like he should be a woman.
——————— A few good ones
Butler: Kristin, thank you for your service as you defended the freedoms of this country at great personal expense. For all those secrets you will never share due to the nature of being a SEAL, I'm glad that you don't have to keep this secret any longer. You, perhaps more than anyone, truly know the price of freedom.
Sue: WOW...didn't think much could top being a SEAL, but this woman is the BRAVEST I have heard in a long time! YAY for living the life you were meant to do, and Thank You for your service!! Best wishes for the future:-)
Trudy: I don't understand it. But it's her life and her right to pursue her personal happiness. She's not hurting you and yours by pursuing her life's goal. I think it best if we all thanked her for her service to our country and wished her well.
Russ: I believe transgendered people are some of the strongest and certainly some of the most disciplined people on earth. Their emotional struggles and conflict are seemingly unparalleled. Instead of being ridiculed as marginalized, they should be loved, accepted and celebrated for their strength and desire for living honestly. I hope Kristin's story helps build bridges—opening hearts and minds.
Harry: It doesn't say much for our society when a person fears the repercussions from being their true self in front of the world than they do going into battle, where they may die.
Nate: Very courageous. She displays the same kind of courage and character that the SEALs display. Everyone should be proud.
Alan: Not only is this a great story of freedom and coming to terms with one’s identity, but it is going to make conservative religious republicans heads explode as they try to comprehend. "does not compute"
will replay in their brains until they explode in a shower of religious bigotry..... I love it
Bryan: What this says, beyond any doubt, is that transgender people can, and do, serve successfully at the highest levels within the military. It is time for policy to recognize this indisputable fact, and stop forcing out highly capable individuals putting their lives on the line for the rest of us.
Heidi: In all honesty, I have in the past mocked and made fun of those like you. As I grow older I realize the pain that I have caused by my narrow-mindedness. I apologize and wish you well. Thank you for your service.
Danna: In a bright shining instant we are reminded of how wonderful and fascinating life is. May we all have the courage of a Navy Seal in order to live an authentic life just as this woman. This transgender school teacher will walk with a completely elevated pride from this point on.
