Something something something angst about the mantle of hero identities getting passed around to new people, the duty of other heroes to accept this because it’s important that civilians keep feeling safe, villains being the only ones to truly get to mourn the original heroes and choosing to step out of their villain identities because they liked fighting the person not the hero, etc etc etc
#listen I love sidekicks and titles being passed down and stuff like that#but there’s always an inherent angst to me in like. the loss of identity?#because yeah at some point they just get acknowledged as superhero titles#but at the beginning of all that was a person making a costume and band intrinsic to *them*#*name not band#I doubt anyone starts off being a hero with the thought that they’d pass down their hero stuff to someone else#then eventually there’s a third generation wearing their costume and stuff#because it’s important that their work continues and the whole symbolically the hero continues on in sone form and villainy doesn’t win#but do they even know about all the personal stuff that went into it from the first person who started that mantle#one thing I always think about is like (and I know this is sidekicks but stay with me here) the robin thing from b*tman#now I can’t remember if this was someone’s hc or if it was in one of the runs or whatever#but it goes that: robin comes from a nickname dick’s parents gave him#because they were the fl*ing gr*twins with their little birdie robin#*gr*ysons not twins god damn it#and again I can’t remember if that’s an actual thing#but imagine if it was#and there’s all those robins after him wearing his suit or some variation of it#calling themselves the hero name he gave himself to honor his parents as he tries to find their killer#no other way to think about for me it’s just. loss of identity#anyways#no fandom#heroes#supervillains#superheroes and supervillains in general

Ok so why did Gerard wear the same costume for 6 shows???
Like a lot of people, I noticed the Aotearoa (NZ) & Australia tour drum head messages seemed to be about 9/11. The costume also tells a very specific story that lines up with this--and there was more to Melbourne Night 2 than Gerard deciding it was casual Friday. I'm gonna go through my personal interpretation and explain why I think MCR did this at the end of their tour.
TLDR: This Is Not The End.
I will include image credits in the reblog since there are a lot!
AUCKLAND, March 11 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Based on the skirt suit and drumhead ‘FIX FAX FUCK YOU’, Gerard is dressed as an office worker. For simplicity I will refer to the costume as the Secretary, I see it as both a character and a metaphor. Auckland establishes the monotony and repetition of daily life prior to 9/11, ‘FIX FAX FUCK YOU’ showing an attitude of boredom unaware of the events to come.
BRISBANE 1, March 13 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main difference between Auckland and Brisbane 1 is the briefcase. This indicates the point in time--Auckland is the days before 9/11 and Brisbane 1 is the morning before the attacks begin. The secretary travels to work, thinking ‘Everything under Control’.
BRISBANE 2, March 14 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The drumhead message ‘Here Comes the AIRPLANE’ marks this as minutes or even seconds before the towers are hit. Brisbane 2 is the first time Gerard wears the coat, representing everyone taking cover.
MELBOURNE 1, March 16 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I unfortunately could not find a good photo of Gerard wearing the coat from this show but you can see it on the floor behind him!
The Melbourne shows are as the towers collapse. Pretty straightforward from the Melbourne 1 drumhead ‘TERROR’. This show also had the only appearance of the umbrella, which I interpret as representing the rubble and destruction raining down. The umbrella is closed, showing the secretary is unprotected and ultimately killed when the towers fall.
MELBOURNE 2, March 17 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It seemed odd at first that Melb 2 was the only show that Gerard didn’t wear a costume for, but I actually believe he still did. This is the key to my interpretation: Gerard is dressed as himself witnessing the towers collapse, on his way to work at Cartoon Network. This the only show on the Oceania leg where they played Skylines and Turnstiles*, the song Gerard wrote immediately after 9/11. The drumhead ‘BARK BARK BARK’ makes you picture, a chained dog, representing the powerless horror of only being able to watch as the destruction unfolds--the deeply personal experience that drove Gerard to form MCR.
SYDNEY 1, March 19 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blood!!!! At Sydney 1, we see the continuing aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. The secretary has died but keeps moving, picking up her briefcase and carrying on. This could be showing how a lot of people’s faith in the US government and in the world died, but life had to find a way to move on.
SYDNEY 2, March 20 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At Sydney 2, the addition of Gerard’s white contacts shows the Secretary decaying--but she has not stopped. Frank changed the drumhead message from ‘UNKILLABLE’ to ‘UNKILLABLES’, expanding the meaning from the context of his accident in Sydney to include the band, the fans, and on a wider level everything MCR represents.
I think all of this is a metaphor for the band’s career in multiple ways. Firstly, the Secretary being undead of course reflects MCR’s return, and her zombified appearance aligns with the imagery of their new era (decay, swarm, the destroyed buildings of the stage set). Secondly, it is very interesting to me that they did this sequence of costumes and drumheads at the end of their headlining tour, rather that at the start. The story they told seems to imply a rebirth--MCR was ‘born’ out of the trauma, pain and confusion of 9/11, so the fact that they represented the start of the band on stage signifies a second beginning.
(Thank you for reading to the end and if I got anything wrong please let me know!)
*EDIT 1 (23/03/23): They actually also played Skylines at Brisbane 2. I do think the position of Skylines in the Melb 2 set is still significant. They played it as the first encore song which mirrors it being the first MCR song and written shortly after 9/11.
EDIT 2 (30/03/23): So actually 8 shows of Secretary Gerard when you include Japan! Tokyo and Osaka analysis here

I love Heartsteel Kayn I want to eat him
Heartsteel Kayn x reader, late Halloween and birthday special since I had no time earlier
He looks so kldgkqvmqtmvt here
Tumblr media
He couldn't believe he agreed to it. I mean, he wore a collar already, but how could he agree to this?! And at his own birthdayween party. NOW HE'S EVEN ADAPTING EZREAL'S STUPID WORD FUSIONS WHAT'S GOING ON. He looked at you, fixing up your witch hat. The only good thing about agreeing on the matching "witch and her black cat" costume was seeing you in this beautiful tight dress. He couldn't wait till the party was over and he could rip it off of you...
Was it bad he wanted the part to end already? It didn't even begin, but he wanted you so bad...But this one time he decided to not listen to himself and go. Holding hands, you both went to the club. The gesture made him feel so giddy, your soft and warm skin against his. It made him feel so...good. As you two entered the club where the party was being held, he was approached by the rest of the band and lost you in the crowd as you went to socialise with some of your mutual friends. He wanted to go to you, but his band kept him busy with talks and drinks. He was surprised that they all dressed up, even Yone, which he always thought was so stuck up that he wouldn't do it. But there he was, in a black cape and false fangs hanging from his real teeth. He thought he looked funny, even commenting on it, but being riposted by making fun of his cat ear headband. Then you finally walked up to them, giving him a kiss on the cheek and saying hi to the other men. He put his hand around your hip, enjoying how the other guys looked at you, surprised how he managed to pull a person like you. While they did catch a glimpse at you when you entered, they couldn't really see you well. You sat down next to Kayn and picked up his glass, drinking the rest of the drink from it.
Finally, the party came to an end. Kayn could finally get you home and get that tight dress off of you. He had to really stop himself from dragging you to the club bathroom and fucking you there, but you were always so busy talking to someone...now you were all his.
The best birthday present he could receive.

infodump about my unit swap AU!! mainly how the units formed :>
the idol group: Shizuku (leader), Ena, Tsukasa, Minori
Ena's photos on social media led to her being scouted by the same modelling agency that Shizuku worked for. they become good friends and both end up as idols at Cheerful Days. Shizuku quits earlier though, because Ena saw how the other members were treating her and almost immediately was like "err no, i'm not having that" and they both left, believing that their idol days were over
meanwhile, Tsukasa has decided to take a different path to stardom, aspiring to be a world-famous idol instead of an actor, somewhat inspired by his childhood friend. however, he isn't as successful, and similarly to Minori, many of his applications have been rejected. after Shizuku left Cheerful Days, learning of his bad luck, she tries to cheer him up by suggesting he join an unofficial group with herself and Ena. he accepts reluctantly, though insists it is temporary and that he will make it to a "real" idol group one day
Shizuku begins her second year of high school like Haruka in canon, going as a normal student. one day, she finds Minori on the rooftop practicing and is reminded of the most fun parts of being an idol. she offers to help Minori improve, and- having been missing Ena and Tsukasa since the two, while still friends, weren't able to talk as much once school started- contacts them to see if they'd like to help Minori out. Minori and Tsukasa, with their similar ambition and upbeat personalities, get along instantly and Minori is now the fourth member of their group
the online indie group: Kanade (leader), Saki, Ichika, Nene
the same circumstances led to Kanade starting to compose. one day, while bored and surfing the internet in hospital, Saki came across her music and started to write lyrics for it since it has resonated with her. she eventually decided to send her lyrics to this K person, who, to her surprise, responded, and even offered that Saki join her as a lyricist
once well enough to start high school, Saki excitedly tells Ichika all about her new hobby. Ichika still longs to bring their band from their childhood back together, but with little luck talking to Honami and Shiho, eventually joins Saki and Kanade's little group. she uses her guitar to add to Kanade's music and sometimes sings Saki's lyrics
Nene was still very much affected by what had happened in her middle school performance. yet, her desire to sing remained, even though she felt she could never face an audience again. one day, as she was listening to random music while gaming, a piece from K's group turned up. she stopped what she was doing and tried singing along to it- it fit her voice perfectly, as if it was made for her. with some encouragement from Rui, she made up her mind and asked if she could be a singer for their group. the other three, impressed by her clear skill, accepted
the theatre troupe: Emu (leader), Rui, Mizuki, Airi
Emu and Rui's meeting goes similarly to canon. desperately searching for cast members, Emu catches one of his illegal shows at PXL. she sees the park security before he does as he's distracted with his performance and whisks him away to the Wonder Stage, where she asks him to join her troupe. of course, he has no reason to refuse- and in addition, he has another possible member in mind. his old friend Mizuki, who would be great help with costumes, making the stage "cuter"- and something tells Rui that they'd make for a good actress too
the next rare occasion he sees them at school, he asks them to join. hearing of the state of the stage, as well as wanting to repay Rui for his company back then, Mizuki instantly agrees
meanwhile, Emu is on the hunt for more members at her own school. Airi, having quit her old work at this point, runs into Emu at one point. Emu recognises her from TV and excitedly tells the older girl that if she joins her troupe, she'll get the chance to make many people smile and spread hope. although it isn't exactly the idol future she wished for, Airi is convinced by Emu and becomes the main singer of the troupe whenever they do musicals
the street musicians: An, Akito, Haruka, Shiho
once An and Akito found out they had the same goal, they teamed up from the start and became a duo, so An didn't try to find a singing partner and Akito never ran into Toya singing, though i think they would still be decent friends through school, but not as close as canon
Haruka went through the same situation with Mai that led to her quitting as an idol. one day, wanting a change of scenery, she decided to meet up with An at Weekend Garage and when she arrived, she was greeted with her and Akito bickering over how they should sing lines in song. Haruka stepped in with her suggestions and the pair took a liking to her singing voice and asked if she wanted to join them. for a few days, Haruka was reluctant, but eventually gave into An's pleas and started singing with them on Vivid Street
while headed to the Miyajou music room to practice her bass, Shiho walked in on Haruka practicing her singing and was impressed by her work ethic. for a few weeks, they would practice songs together, Haruka singing along to the music Shiho played on the bass. eventually, after talking to An and Akito, Haruka invited Shiho to their group
Shiho was sceptical at first, and a bit put off by An and Akito's personalities when she first met them, but once she saw how serious they were about their goal, she felt she could relate to them a little with how driven they all were. Akito, inspired by Shiho's ability to both sing and play an instrument, decided to start learning the guitar
the band: Honami, Mafuyu, Kohane, Toya
Honami, even though she feels like it's a bit pointless since Saki, Ichika and Shiho have found different music groups, as well as not having the confidence to reach out to them all again, still continues to practice her drumming, even though she doesn't really know what her aim is
Mafuyu, not having ever come across K's music, hears Honami play one day as she walks past the school's music room. she senses a fellow person who doesn't really know what they're doing with their life and wordlessly enters and begins playing the piano in the room along with the drumming. Honami is surprised but doesn't stop. that is their routine for a while, simply playing the same song together without exchanging many words, but there's a silent understanding between them
Kohane did run into An's group practicing at Weekend Garage, but didn't return after running away the first time. however, her newfound interest in music remained and she visited the music room one day as Honami and Mafuyu were playing. she recognised the song and absentmindedly started to sing it as she stood by the doorway, accidentally catching their attention. however, Honami quickly stopped her from walking away and asked her if she'd like to continue singing along to their music
the three of them eventually became a band, but it did feel like something was missing. i'm going to say that in this AU, Mafuyu and Toya's parents are friends, so they know of each other. although Toya didn't particularly want to continue with classical music, he figured playing with people he could potentially befriend was much better than complete strangers, so when Mafuyu offers him a place in their group, he accepts. he becomes best friends with Kohane and agrees to become the violinist for their band. they often play at the Aoyagi house since it's got the most space
cross unit relationships
Rui and Nene: as childhood friends and neighbours, they are still extremely close despite not being in the same group. Rui is often in the background when Nene's on Nightcord calls. they share ideas with each other- though Nene does feel slightly down when she hears about everything Rui gets up to in his new theatre troupe as she somewhat wishes she was still able to join one
An and Kohane: never fear, Anhane will still occur despite them being in different units. Toya and Kohane head to Weekend Garage one day because Toya heard that their coffee was good and Kohane gets the opportunity to actually speak to An. they agree to stay in touch
Shizuku and Airi: they briefly met while they were both in the idol industry and remained good friends. Shizuku takes Airi's advice regarding being an idol and Airi is often inviting Shizuku to come see their shows. however, Shizuku always ends up lost, especially with the Wonder Stage in such an obscure location, so Airi has to send Rui to go looking for her- since he often plays the villain, he tends not to appear in performances until a bit later, giving him the time to go searching even when the show's due to begin
there are others but i am soooooooooo tired. this ended up well longer than expected

i was thinking earlier about… how willow is (amazing, wonderful, an amazon) an incredibly tragic character, because essentially all of her self-worth comes from external sources, and once she no longer has that, she crashes and burns to such an epic extent.
this is a girl who was bullied and rejected by her peers since childhood, and whose parents never gave her the time of day. in episode 1, she is no longer willing or able to take up space. and then she meets buffy.
buffy chooses to spend time with her, and wants to talk to her, and doesn’t want her to go away! this gives willow enough of a boost to stand up against cordelia in episode 2. (“she’s not a pyscho loony. you don’t even know her.”) i think this a testament to how strong willow is - or rather, it suggests that she had strength and fight inside her all along, she just needed someone else to believe she could/should be heard. willow’s self-confidence seems to grow as she spends more time with buffy, with her strength beginning to mirror buffy’s own. at the end of season 2, buffy and willow are put through parallel tests of strength as buffy physically fights angelus, and willow works the spell to restore angel’s soul.
in season 3, as she learns more spells, she begins to feel more useful to the gang (and to buffy, specifically). the arrival of faith threatens her new confidence. when she perceives that buffy is repeatedly choosing to spend time with faith over her, and when buffy tells her that she can’t understand it (“it’s kind of a slayer thing”), willow feels understandably hurt - but it’s deeper than that. she questions her usefulness. she questions if buffy really needs her - and if buffy doesn’t need her, why would she stick around? (she's already left willow once.) after all, buffy had sought her out originally to help her with her studies. and then! willow had found she could apply her computer skills to help out with buffy’s slaying duties. up until this point in their relationship… they’re best friends, they talk about life stuff, they look out for one another - and willow helps buffy in every way she can. she needs to be needed, and when that’s taken away from her, she hurts, and she falters.
all in all, willow comes out of this season pretty strong. she has a cool boyfriend (in a band!), they lose faith to the dark side (no more competition for buffy's or xander's affection!), and willow chooses to stay in sunnydale to fight the good fight - and she explains, fairly convincingly, that it’s not for buffy, but for herself.
and then in season 4, willow meets tara. in this moment, willow becomes buffy: she becomes the one to share her strength and confidence with another person. throughout their relationship, we watch as willow - now brimming with power - helps to bring out the strength and fight in tara, too. what’s fascinating to me is that there are two opposite ways to look at their relationship. one is the way that tara sees it: that the light in her is all because of willow. the other is the way that willow sees it: that the light in her is all because of tara.
willow’s insecurities go deep. it’s suggested that willow hates herself, and/or feels like some sort of fraud. in 4x22 restless, buffy peels away willow’s “costume” to reveal her season 1 self. willow herself makes disparaging remarks about the nerd she used to be.
losing tara hurts because she loves tara immensely, but there's an undercurrent of something else here: willow loves tara so much more than she loves herself that tara's existence becomes her only reason to live. when willow loses tara to glory’s mind-suck, she goes on a suicide mission to fight the goddess. when she loses tara to her own magic addiction, she falls deeper and deeper in the hole, essentially erasing herself as she lets her own mind be consumed. and when she loses tara for good in seeing red, she loses everything. the will to live. the will for the world to exist. in a moment of lucidity, she says to buffy: “the only thing i had going for me… were the moments - just moments - when tara would look at me, and i was wonderful. and that will never happen again.”
it is tragic to me that willow feels this way, after all she’s been through. that after all the progress she made, she never learned to love herself - only the part of herself that was reflected in tara, and now that’s gone forever, along with the one she loved most in the world.

Happy Halloween! In lieu of a fistful of tiny candy bars, I wrote a thing
Title: "Giving it My All, at the Bloodsuckers' Ball!" Category: F/F Tags: Member of a 1960s monster-themed novelty band/actual literal monster, or, "those G-rated vintage sapphic monsterfucker vibes that absolutely nobody was asking for" Wordcount: 2,616 (including an original song demo because I've gotta be me, babyyy) Excerpt:
“Oh, everywhere she goes, all the guys, dig her ruby lips and her hypnotic eyes And I’m heartbroken, I’m a mess ‘cause everybody wants to date the vampiress!” The singer turned her red-painted pout to the crowd, hamming it up as she crossed the stage. Her backing band wore shabby suits, and her slinky black dress looked like it had come from a costume trunk, a poor person’s idea of what a rich person might wear, but she had a certain jaunty charisma, an infectious smile, and the beginnings of a healthy flush on her cheeks. On the edge of the marble dance floor, Sabina closed her eyes and massaged her temples. “Enjoying the party?” said Leander from the vicinity of her left shoulder. “Did you,” said Sabina, voice low and dangerous, “while organizing the single largest vampire gathering of all of 1966, decide to book a bunch of humans in a monster-themed novelty act? “Shh.” Leander grinned. “Don’t ruin the single funniest thing I have done in fifty years.” Sabina opened her eyes, the better to glare at him. “They’re called Vera and the Vamps,” Leander added, voice choked with suppressed laughter. “They’re from Hoboken. Their agent promised an evening of hair-raising musical thrills and chills.” “The next time some aspiring young Van Helsing goes looking for our kind, I’m giving him your home address,” grumbled Sabina. “This is absurd. This isn’t even the fox in the henhouse, this is hens in the, the fox den. They won’t make it to the end of their first set, and then we’ll have to spend the rest of the night either in stone silence, or listening to Dimitri attempt to play the flute.” This, at least, earned a flinch. Dimitri’s flute playing sounded a little like an endless shrieking wind, if that wind somehow also had diarrhea. “He’s had five hundred years to practice.” Leander sounded almost awed. “You’d think he would’ve at least learned proper breath control.” “I think he mostly performs for mortals, and lets the pale skin and chiseled features do the heavy lifting, as it were,” said Sabina. “Can’t say I’ve ever seen the appeal.” “Well yes, I know you haven’t,” said Leander. Sabina didn’t reply, too busy watching the stage.

If not for you
One time I claimed "If not for you" by Måneskin was a BoKris song and I'm here to "sell my fish" (this expression makes absolutely no sense in English but alas).
Setting: This happens IMMEDIATELY after the Stožice concert. Literally in the backstage. Bojan is pondering about life and some homo shit happens (I hate doing synopsis). It's sort of cute? Idk. Feelings, man.
Disclaimer: Please think of these as characters and not the actual people. I don’t encourage anyone to send this to any of the actual JO members nor do I encourage people to force any type of relationship between anyone.
♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩
“Everything ended so quickly”, that’s what he thought.
He was sitting down alone on the couch, with his costume on his body still. He enjoyed the feeling of the fabric against his sweaty skin, as his heartbeat calmed down and the adrenaline disappeared...
They really did it, didn’t they?
So... why did he feel tears running down his cheeks? Were those happy tears?
- BOJAN! – a tall man entered the room – Come on! Everyone is waiting for you outside. WE HAVE A PARTY!
The small man looked up at the owner of the voice...Kris.
- Hey, man...are you crying? – Kris finally noticed what was going on.
- I’m fine. – Bojan quickly tried to wipe his tears off.
- Do you want me to call Martin? – Kris kneeled in front of Bojan, holding his hands – Maybe he knows better how to deal with these types of s-
- No. – Bojan protested by holding his hands strongly – No need to call Martin. I’m fine.
Kris looked in distress. He really was lost...why was Bojan crying? They just filled a stadium- no, they filled THE stadium with a crowd of people who came to see them and their band. If he thought too much about it, he would probably start crying too, but he didn’t want to bring the mood down. He just wanted to party. He had time to process his feelings later...
Kris just failed to understand that that was exactly what was going on in Bojan’s brain. The big difference between them was that Bojan actually chose to let his feelings out first instead of bottling them up.
- Kris... – Bojan was the one who broke the ice – do you remember how we met?
- Okay Bojan we need to get you dressed. – Kris was not letting him talk about it...he really didn’t want to cry.
- It was so funny seeing you burst into our rehearsal to criticize us... – Bojan’s lips formed a smile – You were a hater from the beginning, weren’t you?
- If you actually knew how to play the song, I wouldn’t have to intervene. – Kris was starting to unbutton Bojan’s shirt, avoiding eye contact.
- But if I had played it well, we wouldn’t have met, would we? – Kris didn’t reply, so Bojan kept going – And it was...amazing how I inspired you to play music. Not THE Miha Guštin but Bojan Cvjetićanin.
- To be fair, I just wanted to get girls' attention. Lift your arms. – Bojan lifted his arms as Kris removed his shirt – Though it seems I’m only a lesbian icon now...
- Even so... – Kris got up and folded Bojan’s shirt and then put it away – It was the first time I ever inspired a young person to do music.
- Bojan, I’m one year younger than you.
- Listen, Krisko, when I was your age, I used to respect my elders.
- No, you didn’t.
- No, I didn’t. – and the smaller one kept his rambling going – You took a while to accept my request to join our band...but I’m glad of how things turned out...because... “If not for you, I wouldn’t sing anymore” – Bojan softly sang.
- What? – Kris returned.
- It’s a song... – Bojan decided to sing as Kris untied his shoes – “There’d be no summer...There’d be no spring, if not for this love of mine”.
Kris didn’t say anything, he just enjoyed the singing.
- “Thornes without flowers... Bars with no drinks, if not for this love of mine” – Bojan thought his tears had dried...he was wrong – “All the lights, all the parties will just fade out... Shut them down”.
Kris finally started recognizing the melody of the song, though he couldn’t quite remember where from.
- “If not for you, I wouldn’t sing anymore” – and the tears flowed from Bojan’s eyes down to his cheeks and his throat...and some of them dried on Bojan’s bare chest – “If not for you, I couldn’t get off this floor”.
- Yeah, I’m literally helping you get dressed. – Kris couldn’t help but make a snarky comment.
- But it’s true, if it weren’t you, I wouldn’t be singing anymore. – Kris got up to put his shoes away.
- Why do you say that?
- Because of that day...the day you sang Gola to me. – Kris finally stopped on his tracks.
He was not facing Bojan, but Bojan knew something had broken inside Kris’ brain.
A bunch of coincidences brought them together, but it was Kris who made their bond stay intact. It was Kris that made it possible for them to have what they have now.
- I wanted to go solo, but you asked for one last chance – Kris knew all of that – and you made me stay...with just a guitar, your voice and passion...
Kris didn’t need a recap of their relationship...he didn’t want any of that...and the more Bojan talked, the more Kris just wanted to run away...
- Kris...I need you to know – Kris didn’t want to face those feelings right now – That I’m thankful for all you’ve done for me. For all of us.
Still not facing Bojan, the tall man let the tears run down his face. He just nodded.
- I’m crying because...we made it, man. – Kris really had it with him.
He quickly wiped his tears and faced Bojan. He was done.
It took him years to reach a state of confidence he felt when he was in the arena...years of building up, of feeling comfortable with his own body and image. Years processing feelings and burying down some of those...
- We need to get you drunk. – he projected onto the singer.
He quickly unzipped Bojan’s glittery pink pants...he just wanted this chat to be over. He was done reflecting on his past insecure self.
- Hey! – Bojan grabbed Kris’ hands before he could start taking his pants off.
The guitarist finally looked at the singer. The younger one had red eyes, a slight blush, and frustration in his gaze.
- Are you blushing because your hand is near my dick? – Bojan tried to tease him, but he didn’t understand his frustration at all.
- No! – Kris tried to free his hand, but Bojan didn’t let him.
- Uhm... – Instead, the brown-eyed boy got close to his face and stared at the guitarist’s eyes, his guitarist – There’s something going on, isn’t there?
- Fine! – Kris abruptly yelled, but Bojan didn’t let his hand go, he was used by now – Do you want to know so badly!? – Bojan didn’t reply – What if...
- What if...?
- What if I was down for you...? Really badly.
- You...
- Yes, Bojan, I liked you.
- And what changed?
- I did.
- And you can’t have feelings for me because of that?
- I don’t want my old self to exist anymore. We are two different people. – Bojan finally let go of Kris’ hand slowly - He helped me reach this far, but that was it.
- But he existed. I think that’s the beauty of it.
- What would you know about it? You’ve always been comfortable in your own skin, thoughts, and feelings. You were always social, open, and confident. You don’t know what is like to be me!
- I don’t, but I don’t think you should shit on your old self.
- Why do you even fucking care!?
- Because I felt the same.
- What...? – Kris didn’t understand a word – What the fuck are you talking about?
- I also liked you.
Kris stopped for a couple of seconds...he needed to process what just happened.
- Why?
- Why wouldn’t I? The moment you burst through the door to yell at me I was immediately showered by your energy. – Bojan wasn’t going to shy away from eye contact, but he certainly fidgeted with his fingers out of nervousness – It’s a different energy from Martin or Jan’s or any of the other guys...
He looked at a loss of words, so Kris made the question this time.
- What changed?
- I did. I grew up to be more anxious and careful.
- That doesn’t sound like you at all.
- Because I can’t let go of my past self. Both versions of me coexist and I can accept them both, with their faults and virtues. No use in crying over spilled milk.
They stayed in an awkward silence for a while before Kris got too annoyed with it.
- What now?
- First of all, close the door. I can’t believe you started undressing me before even closing the door to the hallway.
Kris looked behind him. The door was wide open.
Did anyone listen? At this point: who cares?
- Now? – he said after closing the door.
- Wanna go party with the other? Or...
- Or?
- Do want to help me undress me some more?
- You are fucking unbelievable.

"Why do you like having your characters naked, high and or drunk when they confess feelings?" It's a metaphor for vulnerability (I grew up watching sailor Moon)
I hope you somehow got past my shitty "synopsis" (I didn't even attempt to write one really) and made it this far. Byee

Normal has tried to throw Teeny away before, multiple times actually. All the frustration and disappointment wrapping tightly around him like thorn covered marionette strings. He'd heave the mascot's head up and out, hovering it over the school's open outdoor garbage container. Then, suck in a deep breath and mutter some tired goodbye. But every time, at the last second, he'll remember those moments that Teeny did--he did--make a difference to someone. Even if it was only a few minute long smile at the pep rally or some of the marching band cheering him on during a half time dance off. Or a kind parent going out of their way to say his performance was good after a game. With those memories flickering in, his hands would tense, beginning to tremble. He'd hug the mascot to his chest and slump down near the garbage container. And as tears welled up and overflowed, damping the costume's cheeks...Normal would try and hope again that maybe tomorrow will be better, that he'll brighten at least one person's day again.

Note
In one of Mick’s recent interviews I remember reading about how he disliked dressing up in all of the costumes and how he felt like he looked like an ugly old lady, and that it wasn’t his thing. Plus he said that his favorite era of the band was the ‘To Fast For Love Era’ which I can tell probably was the best for him because it was just a band of people who on paper we’re perfect for each other making raw music. Mick was getting his do-over to finally make it big, and it’s sad to see that the hunger that first drove the band was lost in the fame and debauchery of being a metal band, and trying to be the “best” or out-do other bands when it was originally just about making good music. Mick was finally in a band he felt worked. His happiness in the beginning is so sad to think back on now because of how the band (Nikki) has been treating him over the years.
Plus when Mick was asked if he regretted ever being in Motley Crue he said no that he would do it again just he wished he could have had more say. Further proving that he wasn’t allowed or he was cut off from being involved with a lot of the decisions of the band.
I’m a firm believer that Mick was the main reason that Motley Crue got anywhere. He was connected to people that backed the band in the beginning and he helped shape their sound. Mick doesn’t get enough credit for helping Nikki write some of the songs and for convincing Nikki and Tommy that Vince should join the band.
And nothing infuriates me more than reading about how the band was debating on whether to kick Mick out from the band. Like how are you just going to kick someone who was the catalyst for kickstarting the band out?! It’s really gross the way they have always treated Mick especially as he backed their awful behavior the whole time to protect the band’s interest. Without him the band would have failed just like London (Nikki’s old band he was in.)
Exactly, Mick was the person that got the band anywhere with his connections from his past with other bands.
Mick was the only person in that band that was completely committed to the music, while the other three were in it for the rockstar image and lifestyle. Part of it is Mick is older and had already done his partying by the time crue was formed.
He was more mature than the others then, and he still is now.

Vil Info Compilation Part 2: Beanfest
Vil plays a large part in Beanfest, which Pomefiore prepares for with pre-event stretches, where Vil notices Rook’s recent increase in muscle mass (Rook responds, “Imagining the rush of exhilaration I’ll feel when I capture you is going to keep me up all night!”)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vil begins the event by not wearing fragrance (as members of the opposing team like Rook and Jack are known to have particularly acute senses of smell) and beating a pair of Savanaclaw students into submission (with an insult for Leona of “Your handler is utterly incompetent”) so that they agree to team with him, and quote: “You are in the presence of royalty. Now KNEEL.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Savanaclaw students are surprised by Vil’s physical prowess, and Vil explains that his personal trainer is a former kickboxing world champion.
(Note: in the NA version the Savanaclaw students start calling Vil “boss-man”. In the original dialogue they call him "aniki”, which is a gender-neutral term for an older sibling, but not sure what an equivalent would be in English…are there perhaps more gender-neutral ways to express things in Japanese than in English? This also happens where Vil is correcting Epel’s behavior in a different vignette. Considering Vil’s dislike for separating words, clothes, interests, etc, along gender lines and Epel's problems with toxic masculinity, the addition of the word “man” to Vil’s dialogue in a scene where he is correcting Epel is kind of ironic. If it were any other character, then changing the phrasing to the English-language idiom “clothes make the man” probably would have been fine, but the fact that it is specifically Vil speaking to Epel is the perfect storm of “he really wouldn’t say that” ww)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vil gives his Savanaclaw team fashion tips during the event that they promise to “pass on” to Leona, as they are “sure he’ll appreciate it”.
In a vignette it is revealed that Vil’s team members would rather not be following his orders at all. Vil saves Silver from a 10-member monster-team attack single-handedly and is betrayed by a group of Octavinelle students who had offered to join him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They recruit Vil’s band of Savanalcaw students, but it is revealed that Vil suspected their motives from the start: he physically overpowers and ties up all the Octavinelle and Savanaclaw students, explaining that he was onto them all from the moment he saw them.
Vil explains talks about a time a costume of his ended up ripped and sabotaged by a veteran actor who had kindly shared acting tips with him, so “spending time among wolves in sheep’s clothing put (him) in the habit of gauging others’ true intentions”. He says, “Spotting betrayals is trivial for me.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silver requests permission to go to Malleus, which Vil grants, leaving Vil alone to use the Octavinelle and Savanaclaw students as bait. Vil successfully bluffs his way out of a confrontation with Jack and Azul, and Epel says that it is “kind of scary how seriously the monster team is taking this…”
Vil explains, “We’ll never get a chance to play a game of tag on such a massive scale again once we age into adulthood. I saw we seize this transient, chaotic day.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vil adopts Floyd into their group by physically tossing him to the ground, impressing Floyd extremely. Floyd agrees to join them with Vil’s promise to teach him the self-defense technique he used, in exchange.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later on Floyd naturally expresses reluctance to obey, and Vil invokes Azul in order to force Floyd’s cooperation.
Tumblr media
Rook discovers Vil and dismisses Trey in order to take Vil on alone. Thanks to his stamina Rook ultimately wins their fight, but Vil isn’t particularly bothered, saying, “I played to the fullest of my abilities and still lost. That’s simply how it goes sometimes.”

Why you should vote for each of them and full art below!
Rishika Díaz (by @flockofdoves for Masks)
Tumblr media
(art by @flockofdoves)
in the year 202X, local Halcyon City newspapers report occasional spottings of a new superhero in town, a teenage girl with portal and teleportation powers calling herself “The Future Violent”.
in a different timeline some ambiguous amount of generations later, capitalism and global warming have gotten even worse, and superheroes are recruited to serve the interests of a few big corporations, who now even more explicitly are in control of the state and have a monopoly on legitimate violence. a 17 year old pores over a very old family photo, family from his dad’s side generations ago, smiling happily in their living room. he hopes that maybe, just maybe, he can take his ability to teleport anywhere he has a clear sensory grasp on to its most extreme, and do something he’s never done before, travel to the the past. to him it feels like the only hope at saving the world.
somehow, they succeed! they pop into their ancestor’s living room right after the picture was taken, aged picture in hand. in stuttering through an explanation in a post time travel haze, the name they’ve always gone by is misheard as Rishika, and on a whim, they go along with it.
rishika’s family (who are now referred to as her aunt, uncle, grandma, and nieces and nephews) fully accept rishika into their home. rishika is open with them from the beginning about their goals of stopping evil corporations, which is all well and good to their family as long as he’s safe about it, but he still needs to go to school and get decent grades while he’s at it.
using their powers for something as extreme as time travel has scrambled their brain a bit. their memory of the future is very spotty. in their meandering first attempts at stopping evil corporations, they end up encountering two other teens with powers from their school, and begin to work as a superhero, getting involved with situations not directly related to preventing their future, developing a costume and superhero name, and omitting all this while talking with family so as to not worry them too much.
when the first news reports of Rishika’s team’s activity refer to The Future Violent as a girl, for some reason rishika really enjoys that. she might as well have her teammates always refer to her as such when in costume, after all it’ll help make it harder to find out her secret identity as a boy!
when not spending increasing amounts of time embroiled in heroic situations, rishika loves getting to listen to long lost recordings of their favorite “retro” emo bands, running a fanblog for future revolutionary martyrs and now famous on the local scene band made up entirely of superheroes, The Gawth Chix, and modifying clothes in baffling ways (her friends aren’t sure what is future fashion and what is just rishika being rishika).
coming from their even more abysmal capitalist propaganda filled future education, history is by far their favorite school subject, but their history teacher is never quite sure what to do with the combination of their clear enthusiasm and huge gaps in basic historical knowledge.
rishika is open about casually mentioning they came from the future, but theres no real precedent for that, and most people just dismiss it as some sort of weird joke.
between their gaps in memory and knowledge both of past and future, juggling a new and dramatically different school system, a new family life, and a new identity as a superhero, and the nagging but vague feelings about identity starting to emerge for them, rishika has a lot of growing and reflecting to do, even as she feels the constant weight of saving the entire world on her back!
(a note on pronouns: if its not obvious, i intend rishika to be a trans girl or nonbinary transfem person who has not really consciously connected that for herself yet, but who is on the way to soon realizing that. in school and at home she uses he pronouns by default, but uses she pronouns in her superhero identity. her closest friends are also her superhero teammates, and they have started to occasionally slip up and use she and they pronouns even sometimes outside of superhero contexts. despite how this technically could help people connect her hero and personal identities, she hasn’t corrected this any time its happened, instead just privately going like .’whoa..’ when referring to her as a character, i mostly use she and sometimes they, but he can contextually make sense too like how i used it here. so feel free to use your judgement when referring to her)
Benedikt Ignatov (by @19orionis for Dungeons & Dragons)
Tumblr media
(art by @19orionis)
Benedikt has learned not to fly off the handle very often, appearing relaxed and even at times sleepy, making his disastrous slip-up (more on that below) all the more difficult for him to think about. In daily life, he’s a chill, artsy guy, who, aside from living off the land, occasionally ventured into town to sell his colorful work. He says the occasional weird, funny thing and would be a great guy to smoke with. Despite not having as much in the way of physical strength as one might expect, his tall, large stature lends him skill in quiet intimidation. Initially coming off as a chaotic neutral, he does find fulfillment in listening to and protecting those who need it.
After being robbed and accidentally decimating his home woods in a firey rage of his own making, mortified, Benedikt fled his home continent by stowing away on a ship, and traveling to a new frontier where he is currently posing as a naturalist researcher, using his sketching abilities and background as a forester to make the act all the more convincing. As a totally human sorcerer with wild magic, he’s never had any idea where his powers came from, and is using the adventuring opportunity to hopefully gain some insight on what he is. And maybe find some community along the way. He’s always wanted a nicer family.

[Your Beloved Hand] - Chloe SSR Card Story Translation
Tumblr media
Ft. Mithra and Akira
Someday We’ll Reach The Stars - Chapter 1
[Star Gaze City]
Tumblr media
As Chloe and I strolled down the city’s streets, the sights and sounds of the Star Dance Festival captivated us at every turn.
Chloe: This is incredible…! It’s like we’re walking through the night sky.
Akira: The whole town looks absolutely stunning.
All around us, dangling star-shaped decorations twinkled and gleamed with a soft light.
Chloe: …Y’know, seeing all this sure brings back memories.
Raising his head, Chloe looked up at the sky—its cloudy darkness devoid of even a single pinprick of light.
Chloe: Where I was born, you couldn’t really see the stars either. That’s why, I made my own and hung them all up on my ceiling.
Chloe: The handiwork was pretty shabby and they didn’t glow either, but I liked having a little galaxy all to myself.
As he spoke, Chloe gently closed his eyes.
Akira: Your own personal galaxy…
I could imagine a younger Chloe gazing at his ceiling full of stars. He said they didn’t glow, but surely, they must have shone for him.
Chloe: Looking at all my stars, I’d always wonder what the real thing would be like.
Mithra: Where I’m from, there’s no getting away from the stars.
Akira: Whoa! Mithra!
Chloe: Where did you come from…!?
Startled by the interjection, the two of us turned around to see Mithra holding a mountain of food in his arms.
Akira: T- That’s a lot to eat, isn’t it?
Mithra: If you talk to that food stand there, they’ll give you some.
Chloe: Y- you paid for all this… right?
Brown-Haired Youth: Oh! There you are, Mister! The next performance is about to begin!
Mithra: Hmm?
Brown-Haired Youth: You’re the star of the show, remember? We need you to hurry!
Chloe: What…?
Black-Haired Youth: C’mon, everyone is waiting to see you!
Mithra: Well, of course they are. There’s no one as sexy as me.
Brown-Haired Youth: Then what’re we dawdlin’ for! Hurry, hurry!
Mithra: Fine, I’ll humor this.
[Footsteps]
Akira: Wait! Mithra!
Chloe: They’re gone…
Before we knew it, the townspeople had whisked Mithra away, leaving the two of us behind in the dust.
Akira: Where do you think they’re going…?
Chloe: Didn’t they say something about Mithra being the “star of the show”? Maybe they’re putting on some kind of play?
Akira: …
Chloe: …
Akira: Well first things first, we’ve gotta catch up to them!
Chloe: Right behind ya!
Someday We’ll Reach The Stars - Chapter 2
Trailing after Mithra, the place we ended up appeared to be a little plaza.
Brown-Haired Youth: Alrighty then, now all you’ve got to do is to stand right there!
Mithra: Huh.
Black-Haired Youth: Oh that’s just perfect! Straight out of a painting even!
Chloe: Is something going on?
Brown-Haired Youth: We’re about to perform the Dance of the Stars. It’s supposed to represent our hopes of seeing the shining night sky once more.
Black-Haired Youth: Us townspeople are playing stars, so this mister right here is gonna be our centerpiece: the brightest one of them all.
Chloe: Oh, I see now…!
Akira: That sounds exciting!
Chloe: Right? Oh, it looks like it’s starting!
Readying their instruments, the band began to kick up a tune as dancers in sparkling costumes linked their hands and whirled around.
Akira: Everyone is just incredible! Their movements are so fast and lively!
Chloe: How beautiful… It reminds me of shooting stars.
While we were enraptured by the performance, Mithra began to languidly move towards us.
Akira: Huh? Mithra?
Chloe: Are you supposed to be here?
Mithra: What does it matter? This is dreadfully boring.
Brown-Haired Youth: Where are you goin’, hot stuff!? You’re the star, remember!?
Mithra: Well I don’t want to be anymore.
Brown-Haired Youth: Aw c’mon! Don’t say that!
Mithra: What a pain… If you need someone that badly, why don’t you make them your star?
Akira: What!? Me!?
Brown-Haired Youth: Oh, if that’s the case then can you gimme a show? Just hit me with everything you’ve got!
Akira: Umm…
Taken by surprise, I completely blanked out. However, Chloe came up behind me and whispered in my ear.
Chloe: I’ve got an idea, but I need you to get everyone’s attention.
Akira: L- let’s try it…!
Akira: Hey, everyone! What’s that up there!?
Brown-Haired Youth: Where…? I don’t see anything…
Chloe: <<Suispicibo Voitingok>>!
Brown-Haired Youth: Will ya look at that…!
Secretly whispering his spell, Chloe sent all the festival decorations swirling into the sky where they began to glitter and gleam.
—Just like real stars.
Brown-Haired Youth: This is incredible! Just look at the way they’re flying and shining! How did you do that!?
Black-Haired Youth: Who cares how they did it!? Let’s dance under the stars while we can!
Golden-Haired Youth: You said it!
Underneath the sparkling sky, the townsfolk began to dance once more—it was as if their prayers were truly granted.
The stars continued to twinkle above, casting their light upon the stage. With beaming faces all around us, it felt as if we were in a dream.
Akira: Thanks for having my back, Chloe. Everyone looks like they’re enjoying themselves thanks to you.
Chloe: It’s no problem! I’m just glad it worked out.
Chloe: …Seeing everyone like this is making me want to dance too.
Chloe: Wanna join me, Master Sage?
Akira: Me? Dance?
Chloe: Yeah! C’mon, I’ll be right there with you!
Already on the move, Chloe held out his hand to me.
Taking it, we spun into the crowd, dancing underneath the starlight.
Someday We’ll Reach The Stars - Chapter 3
As the Dance of the Stars drew to a close, we watched the magical lights shining above us slowly dim.
Chloe: Whew, that was fun!
Akira: Ahaha, you said it. With the way the crowd kept growing, it felt like we were one big family by the end.
Mithra: Everything got so out of hand, even I was swept into it.
Akira: Things did get pretty crazy, but it must’ve been an incredible experience for them to dance underneath the stars.
Mithra: They must be rather simpleminded to be pleased by a cheap imitation like that if you ask me.
In response to Mithra’s sardonic remark, Chloe simply smiled.
Chloe: …Even if it’s a cheap imitation, I don’t see a problem with that. All it means is that we’re dreaming of reaching the real thing someday.
Chloe: I understand what it’s like to yearn and strive for something with all your heart. That desire is what keeps you going.
Surely, Chloe was talking about the stars he used to make as a child. Despite the years that have passed, I could still see the flicker of passion in his eyes.
Chloe: It might not be the real thing, but the happiness it gives me definitely is.
Chloe: I’m sure the townspeople felt the exact same way tonight.
Then, Chloe suddenly stopped speaking as if coming to a revelation.
Chloe: B- But then again, my magic couldn’t possibly compare to actually seeing the sky…!
Mithra: Exactly. Next time, I’ll take us to my hometown and show you what a real starry sky should look like.
Mithra: That would help improve your magic, right?
Chloe: Oh, t- thank you…!
Mithra: In that case, I’ll take my leave now.
[Footsteps]
Chloe’s eyes glittered as he watched Mithra leave, filled with appreciation for his unexpected proposal.
Akira: I’m sure the townspeople had a lot of fun tonight too. At least, that’s how it seemed to me anyways.
Chloe blinked a few times in surprise, before letting out a sigh of relief.
Chloe: I'm really glad you think so.
Brown-Haired Youth: Oh, they’re over here! He—y, d’ya think you can do the thing again!?
Brown-Haired Youth: We still have a good amount of dance left in us, so whaddaya say?
Chloe: …
The two of us froze for a second as everyone looked at us with wide grins on their faces, but as our eyes met, it was clear we were on the same page.
Akira: Of course we can! Just turn your attention to the skies!
Chloe: <<Suispicibo Voitingok>>!
The crowd began to cheer as the miraculous view from before rearranged itself once again.
Amidst the glow of the stars, it was Chloe’s smile that shone the brightest.
The Truth Behind The Rainbow Glow - Card Episode
Akira: The Star Dance Festival was so much fun thanks to you.
Chloe: I’m so glad everyone enjoyed it!
Chloe: By the way, did you know the Western Wizards held our very own Star Dance Festival last night?
Akira: Huh? Here?
Chloe: Yep! We had such a great time the other day that we decided to do it again!
Chloe: To set the mood, we decorated the sky with twinkling rainbow-colored stars.
Akira: Rainbow stars… That does sound like fun!
Chloe: Right? And it was soo cute too. So much so that we made ourselves rainbow-colored and danced among the stars.
Akira: You… what? Were you twinkling too…?
Chloe: We had a whole competition to see who could glow the brightest and even started racing through the sky like comets… It was a blast!
Akira: (Ah, so that explains all the flashing rainbow lights outside my window yesterday.)
Home Screen Voice Line
“During our traveling days, Rustica and I often slept outdoors. We’d look up at the stars together and try to find the very brightest one. That’s why, the night sky is full of memories for me. …Ehehe, I’m sure this moment, stargazing with you, will become a precious memory for me too.”

Day 0
Before the Game Begins:
10 bands were invited to our Prog Rock Survival Competition, however only 5 voluntarily took up the offer.
These bands accepted due to their own personal motivations, and today are expected to be transported to the playing area, known as The Arena.
Death Count: 0
Race to the tarmac!
Five bands have received a mysterious invite to meet on the tarmac of an unspecified airport, where they will be taken to The Arena, the playing field of our game. The plane they will be taking is designed by the Mysterious Sponsor of this event in order to encourage conversation and familiarity by having all the seats face each other. It is around 2 in the afternoon in autumn at the time of departure. Rush are the first to arrive, with these punctual Canadians living up to their name! They have come completely and totally prepared, bringing camping gear, along with an acoustic guitar and their undying loyalty to each other. If this is any sign of what they will be like in The Arena, they will make a formidable force to be reckoned with! A few moments later… Next arriving to the tarmac, in two separate vehicles, is a band needing no introduction: King Crimson. Their arrival will surely cause some tension with Yes, who were also invited but haven’t shown up yet, due to their drummer originally having been in Yes. More importantly, it appears that their other percussionist is bringing out pieces of sheet metal out of their vehicle, and is attempting to bring them on the plane. The two arriving later, John and David, have brought full suitcases, and seem to have been misled by their “leader” (we have been instructed to call him “The Crimson King”, but we will not be doing that). Somehow, they gather themselves, and make it onto the plane, without anyone leaving. Our prediction: they fall apart within a week. About half an hour later… Wandering in sometime later is Genesis, bringing… absolutely nothing. We stand corrected: Tony has brought an Etch-a-Sketch, and Peter has apparently brought several… costumes. So, instead of bringing nothing, they brought nothing that will help them, which is even worse. They board the plane without much commotion. Godspeed, Genesis, you’ll need it! Finally, our last arrivals (for now)… Arriving last, at approximately the same time, are prog giants ELP and Yes. The former are already bickering amongst themselves; apparently it wasn’t a unanimous vote to accept the invite, odd for such a small group! Meanwhile, it appears that only 4 members of Yes have arrived; apparently Chris is running late… again. ELP has brought a pair of drumsticks (Carl’s), several knives in increasingly hard-to-find places (we’ll spare you the details of that one…), and a suitcase of  “posh clothes”. Not quite the preparedness of Rush, but they’ll probably do better than Genesis. Yes, so far, have brought a wicker basket, a classical (not acoustic) guitar, and right now, their keyboardist, Rick, is attempting to smuggle in leftover curry. We’ll see how well they all fare… About 45 minutes after the rest of Yes… Finally arriving is Chris, Yes’ perpetually late bassist. He attempts to bring on several suitcases, which has been shot down by our Mysterious Sponsor, leading to a small argument. After another 15 minutes (we are now a full hour and a half late for departure), he concedes to bringing only what he has on him: half a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. After this is sorted out, we prepare for departure into The Arena.
On the plane!
The bands are seated along the sides of the plane, facing each other with a narrow passageway in the middle. Along one side is ELP, Genesis, and half of King Crimson. Along the other are Yes, Rush, and the other half of King Crimson. When on the plane, it seems our sponsor’s plan has worked, and they have begun to talk amongst each other. The British bands, already being rather familiar with each other, take great interest in Rush, being the only Canadians on board. They express that half the reason why they accepted the invitation to the camping trip is because they heard that the other bands would be there. The others are puzzled at their “camping trip” remark, until it is revealed that their drummer, Neil, still has the invitation, which is then passed around the cabin. This leads the others to remark, in surprise, what they were led to believe: Yes were told it was a “nature retreat”, King Crimson and ELP were both told it was some sort of competition, and Genesis just saw it was in the countryside, and signed up. This discrepancy greatly unsettles the bands, and makes the rest of the transport to The Arena quite awkward… After the rest of their silent journey, each band is escorted to their own car, which then drops them off in The Arena.
That’s all for today, so we’ll see you tomorrow for... The Prog Rock Survival Competition!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins
It was an early fall morning, stepping out of your car to bask in the golden light that fall brought. Golden hours' rich hues became more prominent as the days grew shorter and the nights grew colder.
Not cold enough yet to bother with getting on a heavy jacket, yet not quite warm enough to be out in just a t-shirt. You don a light sweater and a knit scarf bundled around your neck. Hands thrust into the pockets of your jeans as you begin your yearly scout of the pumpkin patch.
The field of green and orange makes you smile, up early to get your picking done before it becomes too crowded with the laughing children that frolic and run through the crisp apple sunshine. Parents trailing after, a mix of amusement and tiredness that comes from running a busy house.
Until then, the here and now is yours to savor. Wandering up and down the rows like a fine connissiour. A tall one there, a plump one here. The shape, the size and the personality is what matters most to your keen eye. What kind of face can you see? You pick one up, study another, and make trips back and forth between your cart and the patch. You don’t grab just one of two, you acquire nearly dozens of them, piling them into the cart that you borrowed and hitched to your car.
“Much too early to carve pumpkins,” The folks around you would laugh good naturedly, “Why so many? They’ll rot before the end of October. They won’t look as crisp and vibrant on Halloween.”
But you would merely offer a secretive smile in response, and never expand on your line of thinking.
It takes days to get them all done, a neighbor pausing to chat with you, while you sit beside your compost pile. A group of children running up to the gate to ask you questions. They ask you about all the faces you’ll put on them, and if you have a favorite. Smiling as you listen to their banter, talking about Halloween and what costumes they’ll don.
The pumpkins sit with darkened faces, waiting until the others are all finished. Then with friends and neighbors gathered around, you take the time to carefully light each one, until a sea of jack-o-lanterns is at your doorstep, full with flickering candles, and eerie grins that stretch vast, twinkling with mischief and mirth.
You stand on your porch, as the last person leaves, hands clasped around a warm mug as the steam curls around your face. The stars are high in the sky now, but you stand resolute.
You watch.
And listen.
Ears tingling in the cold and silence, a few times you think you hear movement but it isn’t until your mind has drifted onto other thoughts, is when you finally hear it.
The sound of hooves, distant on the horizon but coming ever closer.
A shadow of a figure riding horse back, a pitch black mare, and a cape that billows forth from the rider like plumes of smoke.
A smile already pinches at the corners of your cheeks, grinning around the mug in your hands as they dismount their stead, boots landing in the sea of swirling golden grins.
A gloved hand raises in silent salutations and you wave back to them.
Soon out of the darkness others join them, a ghostly band of riders on horseback. All dismounting as silently as the grave and walking amongst the golden candlelight.
When the mysterious riders have come and gone, you finally sit down on your porch, beaming brilliantly, a smile bright enough to cast light like your pumpkins.
They are almost gone now, the lights from your field of pumpkins have dwindled immensely since the riders' arrival. The faces you had laboriously carved now in the hands and on the shoulders of their new owners. May they ride safely in the night.

Blank Room Soup.avi, a hoax?
I believe by now most of the internet is familiar with "Blank Room Soup.avi", or originally called "Freaky Soup Guy", a video wherein two costumed characters comfort a man who's crying while eating soup.
Tumblr media
It's off putting at worst, maybe slightly uncomfortable. Of course there were rumors that it came from the dark web and that the man was forced to eat a soup that had his dead wife in it, or slight variations of.
Of course, none of that is true. The truth, however, is rather muddled.
See, the costumes belonged to a man named Raymond Persi. Raymond Persi works for Disney and is an animator, director, and voice actor for a handful of movies and The Simpsons between season 16-21 and The Simpson's Movie. Raymond also had these costumes, as they were a project of his that were essentially mascots for events or stage shows. The act was called "RayRay".
According to Raymond Persi, one day while out for a show, the costumes were stolen, and some time he was later sent this video. Finding it absurd, he posted it to youtube to show his friends, and the costumes remain stolen. Though still a mystery as to who stole the costumes and made the video is, the rest of the mystery is solved right?
Well, there's a possibility that Raymond Persi's story is a fabrication. Below the cut, I'll go into a very likely theory about what is possibly going on. Nothing is confirmed, however.
What's lesser known is that there were actually multiple videos in this series. The second video is mostly the same, the man is in the lackluster room crying with his soup, but now they mascots are off to the side, watching, until the last couple seconds when one of them runs up to the man and kicks him. The third video, however, is where it gets interesting.
Tumblr media
It's a 10 second clip, where in a dark alleyway with a single spotlight, "RayRay" comes out with what we can assume is a hostage. The man is bound and gagged. The camera zooms in on both of them, before cutting off.
So it got it eerier, it seems, but this is the beginning of a lead.
Raymond Persi has a sister named Dominique Lenore Persi, who is the front woman for an experimental rock band called "Stolen Babies", a band with quite some horror themes to their songs and music videos.
Tumblr media
As we can already see, there's quite a similarity between the "hostage" in Blank Soup Room 3 and the gentleman in the hat and glasses on the left.
Tumblr media
In fact, as we can see here, he has the same pale face, glasses, hat, and red jacket. Oh, and ropes, isn't that funny.
As a matter of fact, there are photoshoots of RayRay with Stolen Babies!

And they've even been there for their shows as mascots, fulfilling their intended purpose after all. In all, just a brother helping support his sister's band.

So, let's loop around. RayRay, Stolen Babies, Blank Soup Room.avi. What's the theory? That Blank Soup Room may just be a promoting stunt for Stolen Babies. I personally think Raymond lied about the suits being stolen and the video being sent to him to try to make it more mysterious and spooky. I mean, sometimes people just lie, even when regarding searches and mystery.
Unless it's true that the costumes were stolen, and maybe Blank Room Suit inspired Raymond Persi to make more creepy videos and photos for Stolen Babies with spare costumes of RayRay.
Either way, nothing is confirmed for certain. We still don't know who the crying man eating the soup is, we don't know who's under the costumes, and we don't know if Persi is telling the truth or not. Still, the first soup video is... quite eerie.
