A Twist of Fate {Part 2} (Everything’s Fine Universe) [Dice Roll 13]
Fandom: Sanders Sides
Relationships: Remus & Janus & Patton, Remy & Patton
Characters: Janus, Patton, Remus, Remy
Summary: It wasn’t unheard of for people to gain soulmarks later in life, but it was quite rare. Usually fate was set in stone. Yet, when one’s fated death was prevented, fate had to make some adjustments.
As he fell, Patton may have felt a strange prickling feeling across his skin. He however, was not paying attention to that, far too distracted and confused. All he knew was that by the time he hit the ground, both of his hands were covered with marks. Later when he went home he’d notice even more in other places, but the ones he noticed when he hit the ground were the obvious ones on his hands.
Then, there was Janus. Janus had only one soulmark on his body. At least. He had only one soulmark that hadn’t been burnt off years ago. When he landed on top of Patton, he did not notice the marks that suddenly appeared on his arms and face. Patton did, however, notice two little designs appear on him: one along the side of his nose and the other right below the scaring on the left side of his face. The second was already colored in by the time they hit the ground.
Universe: Soulmate AU and Superhero AU
Genre: The Dice Roll said fluff and it is… but… it’s more fluff and angst, hurt/comfort-ish
Notes: Child abuse, homelessness, malnutrition, acid burns, platonic soulmates
My Master Post Part 1
Patton could not keep the small wistful smile off his face when Jimmy and his… brother? uncle? guardian? (He almost certainly wasn’t the kid’s father because there were no soulmarks on Jimmy’s face. He’d seen the mark on Jimmy’s forearm though that matched the colored in one on the man’s wrist. Perhaps he was a much older brother.)… left. Patton liked the little boy who frequently came into the bakery even though Jimmy sometimes said weird or scary things. Patton did not know the boy’s story but considering the absence of any parental soulmarks that would typically mark a person’s face, he imagined there was a reason for the way his mind seemed to stray to darker thoughts. At least he seemed happy with his guardian now. The man barely ever spoke, a quiet contrast to the little boy who seemed unable to stop talking for five seconds without exploding, but he clearly loved Jimmy. They were sweet together.
“You are so soft for kids,” a voice said from next to him, making him startle a bit. He had not noticed Remy leave the table he’d been camped out at all day.
Patton smiled at him once he’d calmed down from the small fright. “More coffee, Remy?” he asked.
Remy made the twirling motion with his pointer finger that translated to him rolling his eyes since he couldn’t remove his sunglasses. “How long have we known each other, babe?” he asked.
Patton rolled his own eyes for real and took his offered coffee cup. “Want anything to eat?”
“Nah, just the caffeine.”
Patton nodded and absentmindedly went about filling the coffee cop, but then he paused when he caught sight of the clock and spun around. He crossed his arms over his chest. “You’ve been studying since breakfast time. I don’t remember you ordering any lunch.”
“I’ll get lunch in a bit,” Remy said, waving him off.
“Remy, it’s an hour ‘til closing.”
“…Shit.”
Patton sighed and shook his head, finishing up getting him his refill before turning to grab him a bacon and cheese croissant out of the display case. “Eat,” Patton said, shoving the food and drink at him.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say dad.”
Patton smiled slightly even as he felt his heart twinge at that word. Remy seemed to notice his discontent and reached across the counter to give him a soft punch on the shoulder. “Bad day?” he asked.
Patton shrugged. It was always a bit of a sore spot, but usually not so much that Remy joking with him in that way would sting.
“Sorry Pat,” Remy said. “Didn’t meant to make it worse.”
“It’s fine Remy,” Patton promised. “I’m fine.”
Remy studied him for a moment with a frown, and Patton squirmed under the intensity of his gaze even if it was hidden behind the dark shades. “No, you’re not,” he said bluntly and maybe that’s why he and Remy were soulmates. He was willing to say it unlike everyone else who either politely avoided the subject when they were being nice and when they weren’t… well, let’s just say, Patton had heard the term “unloved” far too many times in his life.
Remy had always done his best, but ever since Patton’s parents had died two years ago dwindling his number of soulmates from a measly three down to one, the insult had started stinging more and more.
It did not help that Patton could see the writing on the wall (or perhaps on the skin would be more accurate) when it came to Remy. Remy was his platonic soulmate, and Patton loved him so, so much, but, well, Patton was aware that… Remy had a lot of life to live outside of Patton.
Remy wasn’t quite what one would call a “well-loved,” but his number of soulmates was in the higher range of normal. There were three on his face: two from his parents and a “blessing mark” from his grandmother. One dotted his wrist for his baby sister who was still in middle school who he’d practically helped raise. There were five that littered his back in different places, only two filled in so far including the one from Patton. (Patton’s had filled in long ago when they were in 3rd grade, and at least Patton had that. Patton could claim the spot of Remy’s first non-familiar soulmate. It made him a little bit special even if… even if Patton could tell it wouldn’t last.) The one soulmark on his chest waited to be filled in by his romantic soulmate, and Patton had to imagine the two on his hands for future children would follow after that.
Patton was happy for him. He was! He’d have a lot of love in his life and Patton loved him so much he couldn’t resent that. The thing was, usually, people had some overlapping soulmates. Maybe Patton wouldn’t have all of Remy’s friends as soulmates, but he should at least have one indicating he would get to know the romantic one, right? One would think he’d have something for Remy’s future kids, because he already knew he would love them if he ever met them. Even just… even just one overlapping friendship soulmate would make Patton feel better. Patton should have some sign of being a part of Remy’s future social circle engraved onto his skin.
Unless.
Unless, well, unless Patton ended up not mattering much in the end.
It hurt to think about. It hurt to know that Patton was likely just an important childhood friend whom he would eventually drift away from as his life moved on without him. Yet, Patton had no one else. Patton would never have anyone else. He had three soulmates. All of them met. Two of them gone.
It didn’t sound much like a happy ending.
“I’ll be fine,” Patton replied. “It’s just a bad day. I’ll be right as rain tomorrow.”
Remy’s fingertips tapped on the rim of his coffee cup a few times. “You should adopt.”
Patton blinked at the suddenness and ludicrousness of that suggestion. He almost laughed. “Who is going to let me adopt anyone?” Patton asked, waving both of his hands around sadly.
“Adopt a soulless kid.”
“Don’t call them that,” he hissed, immediately.
Remy jerked at the sudden venom in his tone. “It’s just what they’re called Pat,” he said. “I wasn’t being mean. It’s their government designation…”
“I know…” Patton said. “It just seems so… mean.” Like ‘unloved,’ but at least ‘unloved’ didn’t make it onto his driver’s license. At least he had the option to pull on a cardigan and go around under the radar with most people not even knowing how many soulmarks he had.
“See,” Remy said. “You’d be perfect to take one in. You’d be thoughtful and patient even with their status. It’s probably what a lot of them need.”
“I don’t even know if people can adopt them,” Patton said.
“Well, someone has to take care of them:” Remy pointed out, “adoption or fostering or some other thing special to them. Maybe you could do that.”
“I still don’t know if they’d allow me to. You can adopt people who aren’t your soulmates, but they don’t usually allow people like me to…” He’d looked up adopting once when he was a teenager on one of the nights when his heart ached too much to sleep, just to see if he’d ever be able to. He’d found one couldn’t even apply for adoption without a hand or lower arm soulmark, a biological relationship to the child, or a soulmate who had a biological relationship to the child. Yet… people with no soulmarks were treated differently by the government, usually for the worse, but… maybe they’d let someone they thought was incapable of giving parental love foster someone who they thought was incapable of receiving any love at all. “Maybe I’ll look into it.”
“You should,” Remy said. “I know you’d make a great dad.”
Patton chuckled humorlessly, looking down at his blank hands. “Clearly.”
“Don’t be like that, Pat. Even if it wouldn’t be exactly what everyone else has, that wouldn’t make it necessarily bad. You don’t have to be someone’s soulmate to love them.” Patton knew that. He knew that very well. He’d loved or wanted to love so many people in his life. They’d just never seemed to want to accept that love let alone love him back.
He smiled at Remy sadly. “Like I said, I’ll think about it.” He shook the thought away. “Not eat your croissant and then go home and get some rest, Rem. I know you’re worried about your exam tomorrow, but passing out from exhaustion and/or low blood sugar in the middle of it won’t help you finish med school.”
“That’s what coffee’s for.”
“Remy.”
“Yeah, yeah, fine,” he grumbled, sticking half of the croissant into his mouth. Having a full mouth did not stop him from talking however, “but afterwards I’m coming straight to your house and we’re going to eat pizza and watch horrible romantic comedies until the sun comes up the next morning.”
Patton chuckled. “It’s a good thing I don’t work until Sunday.” Remy nodded, already finishing the rest of the croissant. He grabbed his coffee cup and went to take a big gulp. “Remy that’s hot!”
He set the cup down on the table once he was finished downing about 1/3 of it. “I fear no god. Put it in a to-go cup for me?”
He turned to wander back to his table as Patton grabbed a to-go cup from under the counter. Patton watched as he opened his backpack and slid all of his study materials into it in a disorganized mess before slinging it over his shoulder. “Don’t give me that look,” he said when he saw Patton watching. “I have to keep up my image of a hot mess.” Patton handed him his coffee cup when he came back over. “See you later Pat.” He leaned forward to give Patton a smooch on the nose, and Patton batted him away.
“I’ll see you tomorrow Remy.” Remy turned around and shot him finger guns, almost walking straight into someone as he exited the bakery door. “And watch where you’re going! You’ll get hit by a car if you’re not careful.”
He turned the finger guns into birds knowing he was too far away for Patton to chide him. He was gone in the next moment. Patton shook his head. There wasn’t anyone left sitting in the bakery. He decided to go ahead and start prepping to close. Maybe he’d be able to go home early.

I saw this and I love it so much I decided to participate. Right now imma be using my favorite para, but I'll probably change it. I kinda googled some questions so i could start this easier, but let's go!
Paramay Day one-Intro
1. What is your paras full name?
Lea Marie Ogden/Blomish/Sadler depending on what part of her life you are referring too.
2. How did your para's parents decide on their name?
Lea Marie's dad left before she was born and her mom hated Lea Marie since she was pregnant so she never even picked out a name for the "little parasite." When she was born, her mom spat at the nurse telling her to pick out a name. The nurse chose Lea Marie, after her aunt who just passed.
3. How tall are they?
5'3"
4. What do they look like?
She's of Japanese/Greek decent with dark black hair till shes 17 (and had to kill her brother out of self defense) and her hair turns gray from the trauma of it. Her eyes are deep blue.
5. What is their birthday (month, date, and year)?
February 29th, 1992. Her mom used to tell Lea Marie she was born on a leap year so she could have "less birthdays" then everyone else because no one should be celebrating her birth. After being adopted, her step mom celebrated her birthday on non-leap years on both February 28th and March 1st because it was extra special and needed to be celebrated for 2 whole days!
6. Where were they born?
New Jersey, 25 minute train ride from NYC. I never settled on a town because I dont know much about geography anyway but also because Lea Marie grew up in a town with a lot of gang violence going on. It's the main reason her teachers never cared about her obvious abuse in her house. Everyone showed up with bruises and scars.
7. Where were their grandparents’ born?
Japan! They came over from Japan in the 1940s and changed their last names to a more english sounding one in order to hopefully find a job easier.
8. Where do they live now?
NYC. Lea Marie and her husband Jared are broadway actors.
9. Do they have any medical problems, diseases, injuries?
Because her mom smoked/drank while pregnant, the muscles in Lea Marie's legs and lower back never full formed. As a result she can't walk without assistance. She uses crutches and a wheelchair to get by (depending). She prefers her crutches but a wheelchair is easier in most situations. In the winter she almost exclusively has to use a wheelchair because of how much her legs and back hurts. When she was a kid/teenager it didnt bother her as much but in her adult life it really messes with her.
10. What religion are they, and why?
I guess pagan? Her dad is literally Hermes so she kinda has to believe in the greek gods, but with how much shit her stepbrother and her gave gone through as a result of them she sure as hell doesnt worship them.
11. What kind of house/apartment do they live in?
As a kid, she lived with her grandparents till she was 4. Imagine the most basic of suburban white family homes and that's where she lived. After she lived with her mom in a tiny, very shitty 1 bedroom/1 bathroom home. Lea Marie's "room" was the laundry room where a washer and dryer never even existed because she was too poor. Her bed was a beanbag chair and 2 pillows. After being adopted she moves into her stepparents 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment in NYC where she sleeps in a bed for the very first time in her life.
Now she lives in a one story house, 2 bedroom house in nyc (which I don't think exist but it's my paracosm and I will do whatever the hell I want!). The one bedroom is a regular bedroom while the other is a recording studios for her and her husband to record (mostly covers) in but Lea Marie also writes her own songs and music.
12. Do they have any pets?
Jared is deathly allergic to every animal, so no. But Lea Marie still loves all animals and would love to own a dog, but knows she cant.
13. Are you married? If so, what is your spouse’s name?
As previously mentioned, she is to her husband Jared Sadler (he goes by his middle name but I never actually came up with a first name for him). They've been best friends since they were 8 years old and started dating when they were 16, got married when they were 24. They started dating after they were the lead roles in Legally Blonde for their theater company so I kinda have to add (very cheesily) "if there ever was a perfect couple this one quailfies" because they've never fought once and both are so understanding and patient with each other.
14. What kind of car do they drive?
Lea Marie doesn't drive mostly because shes too scared to do so but also...she lives in NYC so theres no actual point.
15. What was their first job?
She played guitar in Book of Mormon. When people ask what her first show was never never knows if that counts or not. She did that for a year before going on to play Bazzard.
16. What is their dream job?
To play Elphaba in Wicked! She had seen the show 237 times prior to getting the role (because yes she gets the role. She deserves it). Her husband got the role of firero at the same time.
17. What are other facts/stories about them?
Lea Marie's first language was Japanese (which she learned from her grandparents) then sign language (which she learned from Jared's brother in daycare when she was 3), then english (which she became fluent when she was around 8 in because she was in the same class as Jared's brother and often watched the interrupter), and after being claimed by Hermes at camp half blood she was given the gift of tongues (which isnt a thing in the books but it makes sense since Hermes is the god of travel) so she can speak any language that's not Latin.
She had selective mutism until she was 18. She only spoke to people who she actually thought would listen and value her opinion. The most people she talked to at one time was 20. This is because her mom silenced her and didn't allow her to make any noise at home. If she did she would either be hit or locked in her room for days on end. After extensive therapy, she finally started talking to everyone. However she still barely talks as is unless she has to talk. At home she uses mostly sign language to Jared (even though he makes her comfortable to talk). But if you ever get her drunk, she will not stop talking! She will tell you every story ever when she's drunk. Jared loves it because he loves her so much and loves when shes comfortable enough to talk. The only other time she talks more than usual is if shes in a really good mood.
She is adept at pick pocketing and only has been caught once when she was 8 when she stole a $10k watch off a very important, very terrible business man in NYC. She panicked when caught and threw it down a drain. They gave her a choice to go to jail (cause the guy was a terrible person) or join the theater company in her hometown that was created because of all the gang violence to give kids something to do after school (very aware this is not how things work but it's my paracosm). She joined the theater and learned to play the guitar at first just trying not to be seen until Jared begged her to audition. After reminding him she like talking, Jared told her "but it's not you talking! It's the character! You're someone completely different up there. Everyone want to hear what you say!" Lea Marie loved this idea and so she did audition and got the part of little red riding hood in into the woods. She loved plays ever sense because she loved being someone shes not.
Her favorite movie is legally blonde and it was also the only lead role she got in said theater company.
She learned how to do guitar solos on an acoustic guitar when her mom wasnt home because someone told her disabled people cant play the guitar and she wanted to prove them wrong. (She played the electric at the theater).
Her mom works as a manager of the only gas station in town.
She was kicked out of a total of 4 schools. Once when she was 8 for starting a fight, once when she was 10 for finishing a fight, once when she was 14 because she was caught having sex in a janitors closest, and once when she was 15 because she was caught having sex in the boys bathroom. The first 3 were in new jersy in her home town while the last one was in NYC since no school in New Jersey wanted her. Her mom was pissed she had to pick her up so often and when she was kicked out her mom was threatening to kill her. She was so scared she got out of the car and "ran" to her best friends apartment (where she spent most of her time anyway and was pretty much their daughter). Her best friends mom and step dad adopted her a week later (not how things work but in my paracosm because demigods are so dangerous they have a law specifically for them to not be placed in foster care if avoided so as not to cause more trouble).
I think I just dumped a lot but I still might add onto this later. This is so fun and I'm glad this is a thing! I cant wait to read about your paras!

WELL. it’s me again. i’m sam ( she / her, 21, est timezone ) and i also play parker! this is sky who i’ve had for a while but haven’t really done much with bc my muse for him hasn’t been the best, however i think i’m all sorted with him now so, character info under the cut! tbh it’s literally the exact same intro as before with just a few slight changes but feel free to still give it a read and please message me if you’d like to plot because i would absolutely love that!
FIRST. let’s just. let’s get it out of the way right here and now that this is a sideblog so i will be messing up and posting shit to the wrong accounts sometimes bc i’m dumb. let’s laugh abt it now so we don’t have to do it later. k cool we can carry on now
「 CODY CHRISTIAN, CISMALE, 25, PARAMORE. 」┈ did you read that latest viral gossip issue on SKY ARLO? he is the DRUMMER in BETTER NOW, one of my favorite ALT ROCK groups. they’ve been releasing music for FOUR YEARS now, but viral gossip has only been talking about them for the last TWO YEARS. get this, i think i heard HE’S THE ILLEGITIMATE CHILD OF A WEALTHY PUBLIC FIGURE. they’re known as the CALIGINOUS of the music industry, since they have a rep for being TRENCHANT but SELF - SERVING, but who knows. maybe that will change once they become #1.
born and raised deep in the swamplands of louisiana, sky’s only parent was a single mom who was nowhere near old enough or prepared enough to have a kid, tbh. she did sincerely try to take care of him at first but she had a drug problem that got very out of hand very quickly. sky was barely even five years old when the state stepped in and had him placed into the foster system.
has the slightest of southern accents but if you point it out he will deny it
will occasionally speak a little cajun french though bc we stan a multilingual grump
spent the rest of his childhood without a family or stable home. he was shuffled all over the state — placed in group homes, orphanages, and many different foster homes which were unfortunately very neglectful and unsafe sometimes. by his preteen years he was practically living on the streets of new orleans, survival instincts sharply honed.
he learns fast and had very quickly become an expert thief, pickpocket, and con artist, but that doesn’t mean he never got caught. he did. a lot. like his juvie record is longer than your arm
somehow still found time to experience your typical teenage first love resulting in unbearable heartbreak with a girl who lived on the streets and ran scams just like him. it was a bonnie & clyde together forever type of romance until it wasn’t cause the girl shockingly ditched him while he was in serious trouble in order to save her own skin and he never saw her again
not long after that he turned seventeen AND THEN SOMETHING SUPER IMPORTANT HAPPENED. by that i mean he was sought out by his social worker who then proceeded to 1) tell him his mother had died and 2) take him away to california because apparently there was a family out there who wanted to adopt him! and they did!
his new family wasn’t actually new though because the man who adopted him was his biological father. he and sky’s mother were lovers for the brief time wherein sky’s father was visiting louisiana in his late teen years but he left before ever finding out that he was going to have a child. he’d never stopped thinking about sky’s mom, however, so he’d do some digging every few years. of course by the time he finally did find her it was because of an obituary and then he’d heard about sky and just knew that this was his kid.
sky learned about all of this right away upon meeting his father and to say he didn’t take it very well is a MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENT. he was furious. after all, his father had a whole new family! a wife and kids and a very prestigious job AND OH YEAH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO HIS NAME BUT HE’D NEVER HELPED SKY EVEN ONCE. it didn’t really help that he was clearly trying to make up for his absence in sky’s life by being present now that he had the opportunity and anyway, it turned out he had ulterior motives for that.
basically, a large part of his dad’s wealth was in fact inherited through the family. they’re all old money posh so finding out that the next family patriarch had an unknown son who was technically his firstborn was terrifying. blood or not, they couldn’t just hand centuries of traditions and carefully cultivated wealth over to a high school dropout living on the streets. so, sky’s dad was just keeping him close while he talked to lawyers about whether or not sky had any legitimate claim to anything owned by his family and of course, the sneaky street smart kid he is, sky figured out what was going on pretty quickly and bolted back to the streets.
he was still seventeen at the time and he’s lived in los angeles ever since but hasn’t had any contact with his father or seen a single penny of that family money
so yeah he’s illegitimate, no actual rights to their fortune
lived on the streets in los angeles for a while, but with a little hard work ( and a lot of thievery and conning ) he was eventually able to get himself a little apartment while working various jobs
nothing really stuck until better now, but when he first joined the band he’d literally never played the drums before. ever. not once before in his entire life. did he lie anyway and say that he was a Drumming Expert™ because he’d get paid to play gigs with them and happened to be broke af at the time? why yes he absolutely did
since then they switched lead singers with sweets having joined the band four years ago and they’ve released one album that was lit af! they’re currently in the middle of putting together their second album and since sky’s found out that he actually really loves drumming things have been pretty good for him. he lives in a nice apartment and finally has enough money to get by without conning or stealing. he still doesn’t really know how to deal with being a celebrity but tbh he actually adores the attention? he loves having fans? people in his life who seem to genuinely love and care about him? what is this new and exciting concept he’s confused but happy nonetheless
never ever talks about his dad / family though
as usual i was Extra™ and went off with the backstory stuff, but we can move onto personality now!
by default assumes that literally everyone he meets is going to betray him. is truly on some x files trust no one shit
except he does actually genuinely trust a few people for now i’m going to say just his bandmates since i imagine they’ve been through a lot together at this point but that’s open to expansion
street smart, charming, flirtatious ( especially around pretty girls ), witty, perspicacious, determined, tough, mistrustful, surly, reckless, uncouth, self-serving af sometimes
also v v sarcastic and STUBBORN
all of sky’s save his own skin above all else stuff? kind of a lie. he’s got a soft spot for people in need of help and though he might do it begrudgingly, sky often will actually put others before him.
the other personality traits i listed are pretty spot on though
literally always has his drumsticks with him and brings them everywhere. will drum on anything and everything until told to stop then he miiiight apologize? but go right back to doing it again not even five minutes later ngl
street smart af but book smart? not so much. he picks up on things pretty quickly but he’s still pretty dumb lmao and will in fact say some stupid shit at least 2932589843794836708 times a day
however he’s not always much of a talker. he’s gotta be in the mood bc if he isn’t but you try to have a convo with him he’s gonna be even more standoffish than usual
when he does talk though, sky is often sarcastic, pessimistic, and surly
he’s permanently grumpy
except he also has many soft spots that are very easy to find
stale cinnamon roll, been in this world too long, too cynical w/ a dash of sinnamon roll
he’s usually a cute little ray of sunshine around fans though bc they just?? make him so happy?? it makes him so happy to know that people love better now and that they LOVE HIM OK
though if ever called out for smiling he would immediately deny
will absolutely throw hands if he has to
TL;DR - louisiana born street smart drummer for better now with an accent he denies having and an extremely rich family who wants nothing to do with him but it wasn’t like he ever cared anyway. charming and flirtatious but also can be grumpy and pessimistic. expert pickpocket and con artist. has no idea how to handle being a celebrity but he not so secretly enjoys the love he gets from fans. has trouble trusting and allowing himself to get close to anyone & everyone.
finally…it’s over. if you actually read this far then i applaud you. i don’t have any specific plots in mind EXCEPT FOR POTENTIALLY HALF SIBLINGS RELATED THROUGH HIS FATHER SO PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF YOU’RE INTERESTED BC Y E S but if you know me then you know i want all the plots so feel free to message me and we can definitely work something out! as usual i’m super excited to write with you folks!

Author's Note: Hey guys, I know I been going through this having a hard time writing a full story for a while now, I just need to admit it I am no good at writing a full story. So, back to one-shots I go. Here is my issue, for those who follow my Tumblr, I am really bad at x Readers so I am afraid I can't do that.. However, if anyone has OCs or character types you want me to use feel free to comment, send me a message, or send me an ask at littlefanscribbles on Tumblr . I will give credit to each person.
Summary: If you have followed this story previously I wanted to do a bit of a story re-write. This story is still about Nickelodeon's Summer Short: Teenage Mecha Ninja Turtles based in the year 2090. The short based around four human teenagers, their Sensei, and their mechanical suits kicking ass and taking names.
Disclaimer: I do not own the TMNT franchise, however, personalities and past of the Mecha's is made of my own imagination and ideas given from the snip its in the short. You will see plenty of OCs and connections to the original Turtles' lives. ...Or at least I hope.
Written on FFN here.
Teenage Mecha Ninja Turtles: Come Home
Minutes after the fight with Grimm
One thing Michelangelo found out as he aged is that a Mutant Turtle lives for double, if not triple, the life span as pet turtles. Mikey has lived for almost ninety years, a pet turtle -like he was meant to be- only live about fourty years. In the last couple decades one thing that seemed to give him the biggest happiness was his adopted children, making him realize what Master Splinter went through watching the news display four teenagers' fight to make the world better. His four children trained and fought their hardest, just like he and his brothers did. Who knew, maybe the four could make a difference with people like the Turtles did. Helping humans allow mutants in their lives to live side by side. Or at least that is all Mikey could hope for.
He pushed himself out of his chair, using his cane to walk into the other room. He could hear his turtles come in, he should have known his oldest would see him standing there, "Yes, worry not Jackson my dude," he said with a smile, being greeted the way the previous blue turtle would have greeted his father, "Tonight, you were totally boss my turtles." He said with a cowabunga sign. He looked proudly at his four children covered in the colors of the previous turtles. Frida, the one covered in red, was his oldest and subsequently made the leader. Jackson, the one in blue, was the hot head of the group which was different to Mikey's childhood. Basque, the big guy in purple, was just a few days younger than Jackson and intelligent like the purple before him. Then was his youngest in orange, Kusama, his fire cracker.
Kusama was only six years old when Mikey and Donnie found her and Basque in Foster Care. Frida was a runaway as a child that he took in after finding her in the streets running. However, Jackson was the one that found them. A child alone on the streets that stumbled their way into the lair, looking for some place warm to stay. They became his children and he made sure they where safe and loved. Just as his father did before him. "However," he stated, moving to sit down in a recliner as he looked over the four, "You four need to work as a team. What if this mission would have been harder? You could have been hurt before you decided to work together." He stated, sighing. "You four are siblings, no matter what, which makes you a team no matter what."
"Yes, Master." The four said in return, bowing to him in respect. No longer how long they been doing that he never expected such a thing to happen to him.
"Good, its time to wash up for dinner." He told the four.
Basque nodded, "I'm going to check on Donatello-san," he said making his way into medical room of the lair. He watched the sleeping turtle lay in bed. "Hey, Master Donatello." He said softly, moving to sit down on the chair beside his bed. Basque was close to Donnie, when he and Michelangelo took Basque home the nine year old got close to the smartest turtle. Donnie taught him new things and because of Donnie, Basque had a love for learning -but a year ago Donatello fell sick and Basque often worked to find a way to save his Uncle but even in those years of change they still had not find a fool proof cure of cancer. "We got the bad guys," he said as Donnie fluttered his eyes open. He was visibly weak. "I just wanted you to know."
"You did a good job," Donatello spoke quietly and smiled. "You should go eat Basque I am sure its pizza." Donnie gave a weak smile. Michelangelo may have taken the children as his but Basque was really close to a son, Donnie was glad to be 'Uncle Donnie' to the children. The only reason Donnie asked Mikey to play father was because Donnie knew he was sick -he just couldn't share that he was at the time. They just lost their older brothers he didn't think Mikey could handle knowing he was losing the last of his brothers. The children where there to make sure his brother wasn't alone if he couldn't find a cure. Donnie watched Basque walk out of the make-shift hospital room as Mikey came in. Donnie gave a weak smile to his brother, he was so proud of him and the way he was raising the children. "They do alright?" He asked.
Mikey nodded to the old turtle, moving to sit beside him in the chair. "Still need to work on teamwork, that will be a battle they will have all their lives." Mikey commented, speaking from experience. Even in raising the kids Donnie and Mikey had butt heads when they all where younger, or when it came to deciding if they where ready. Mikey was terrified to let them go out and fight. Donnie knew they where ready, he had been watching his brother for years with those kids.
"They'll get it, just like we did." He said with a cough, "You okay? Your not eating Pizza." Mikey shook his head but Donnie wasn't going to drop it. Something was off with his little brother and it didn't take long to put it together. "If Leo doesn't show up don't be angry with him. We did what we could."
"I should go find him and make him come see you," he said quietly, making the purple turtle shake his head.
"No, you should be with your children like you are." Donnie said, moving to sit up but Mikey jumped up fast to help his brother lat back down.
"Don, don't get up." He said with a smile, "I'll bring you some food but rest please." He said getting up and going into the other room.
Frida watched Basque go into the hospital wing to see their Uncle Donnie. She gave a soft frown, she knew how close her brother was with their Uncle and how his condition was effecting Basque. "Fi did you hear me?" Frida was pulled back into reality hearing her little sister say something to her. She gave her a short apologetic smile to make it known she didn't hear her. Jackson sighed, getting annoyed that she didn't hear the idea the first time. He seemed to always be getting annoyed. Katsuma shook her head, "I said I think we need to do something for Donnie, Basque last test said he didn't have too long."
"I agree, Kat." Frida said, moving to get plates out of the cabinet. "But, I am not entirely sure what we can do." Frida said with a shrug. She just like her siblings wanted their Uncle in a happy place. It would give their father and Basque good closure for when the time comes. She put Donnie's food in the bender and put it in the feeding bag. It never looked good to eat. She looked up at Basque as he came in the room with a sad look, she frowned and handed him the meal bag to set up for Donnie. "What do you think Basque? Doing something for Donatello-san."
"I think its a great idea Fi." He said, trying to mask his upsetting figure and walk back to the hospital wing. He paused, hearing the two turtles converse. When he set Donnie up and came back out to the rest. He had an idea of what to do now, he didn't know the full extent of the story but maybe it could happen just for the short time Donnie had left. The boy could hardly eat with the idea in mind and as soon as he had alone time with his siblings in the dojo he spoke his idea out loud, excitedly.
"I don't know," She frowned, "I only met Leonardo-san once and I was too scared to even talk to him. He left a few days after I was brought here." She explained, "We don't even know why he left."
"So?" Basque said, "They are brothers and Donnie is dying! We have to find Leonardo somehow." He spoke, trying not to speak too loud so the adults couldn't stop them. "No matter what happened between us I would never want to go without not seeing any of you if you where dying."
"I gotta agree with Bas, despite how annoying y'all can be I could never live with myself knowing I didn't come when you needed me." Jackson spoke up, kicking and punching at his sand bag. He stopped to look at his siblings. "From what we do know we know he would feel the same." He stated, Katsuma nodding in agreement, getting excited at the thought they could be leaving the city.
"Okay, okay." Frida sighed, "We can't leave New York defenseless so we have to call August and Charlie." She said with a push of her short red hair. This just screamed a bad idea. August and Charlie Jones where both smart and reckless.
"When do we leave?" The orange Mecha asked.
"Well, we don't know how much longer we have." She said sadly, "So, we'll leave tomorrow night. Thing is.. I don't think Sensei will let us go if we tell him before hand." Despite how willy nilly Mikey could be at times he was also protective. None of them came from a good past and he was their dad -he would act like any dad would. "So, tonight Basque I need you to check the computers and get any leads that you can. Jackson and Katsuma, you'll be on packing duty. Food, water, supplies, and our Mechas." She said with a sigh, "I'll call Aug, have him and Charlie come in in the morning."
It was early in the morning, the Mechas where sitting around their game room waiting for August and Charlie. Basque held a tablet in his hands that was connected to the mainframe computer, he was making notes and covering all the basis before they left. Frida was reading a comic book while Jackson and Katsuma played video games. "Hey Aug, Hey Charlie." Frida said, not looking up as two boys about the age of the three oldest Mechas. August was tall and lanky with short red hair and dark brown eyes while Charlie was about six inches shorter but still thin. He had shaggy black hair and green eyes.
"Hey Mechs." Charlie said with a toothy smirk as he moved to sit next to Basque as his older brother still stood. Basque gave the other boy a smile, turning back to his tablet.
"So, what exactly is the plan Frida?" August asked, pushing back his hair with a short sigh. "What if you don't find Leonardo?"
"We'll only be gone for a week at the most," Frida said, putting the comic down and standing while Katsuma and Jackson turned off the video games. "We're starting at the last known place he was, where Master sent the letter."
"Okay," August nodded. "I guess Char and I can test out our new suits while your out finding your Uncles but how do you think your gonna pack the suits?"
"Well, Charlie and I where working on something that could do that," Basque said getting up to run to the lab and run back with something that looked like watches in the shape of turtle shells, in individual colors. "We found a way to have our suits connected with these." He continued. "We push a button we are suited up and another makes the suits go in these Turtle Coms."
"Thats what happened to our Coms!" Katsuma called, jumping up only for Jackson to shush her and remind her to be quiet.
"Okay, so.. Kinda like that old TV show we watched with Michelangelo-san? Power ...something?" Jackson said, folding his arms.
"Thats where Basque got the idea," Charlie said with a nod. "Watch," Charlie grabbed the com with a yellow band and put it on. He moved away from his friends as he slammed the shell and then suddenly Charlie was in his black and yellow mecha suit with a hockey like mask over the mecha face and pulled out two hockey sticks that he used for a weapon. From inside the suit he pushed a button for it to return in his Com. "You guys can't just walk around in your suits especially sense your going to have to go to Mutant Territory."
"Was that where Leonardo was last spotted?" Katsuma asked, rubbing her neck. Since the integration of Mutants and Humans there was a territory that was designated for the Mutants who didn't feel safe with humans. It wasn't a lot of people but humans and man-made tech wasn't allowed. Basque nodded to her question. The territory has only been there for about twenty years now so they doubted humans had stepped foot in the territory yet and if they went in their suits they would be considered terrorists there.
Frida sighed, watching Basque get up to get the suits in their Coms before they where brought to the individual Mechas. August slipped on his com with the black band before pushing back his hair. "Well, all of our tech is connected, you guys can hit the computer mainframe through Basque's tablet." August said, trying to think. He was worried for his friends but he understood. "Grandpa always talked about the Turtles." August stated, "As much as I worry he said Leonardo always worried about honor so I am sure you can get him to come back." He tried to be positive.
"We'll leave tonight," Basque stated, him and Charlie settling back into their seats. Charlie leaned against Basque, playing with a curl of hair on his neck as Basque continued speaking. "We just have to make sure our father just doesn't catch us. We never really been away from home for more than the few days we spend on the farm.
"Just be careful, Mechs." August said, "If you guys need back up you can always get a hold of us."
"Aug," Frida interjected, shaking her head.
"We can do it, we just need you guys to watch over the city for the week we are gone." Jackson said.
"If you two don't go full on Casey Jones that is," Katsuma asked, she and everyone else sending a look at Charlie who sat up holding his hands in the air like he was innocent.
"Okay," August sighed, "We'll be back tonight. Lets g-" Frida held a hand up to shush him, she could hear her father coming. As if on cue Michelangelo came in with mail in his hands.
"Good morning dudes," Michelangelo said with a smile handing Basque the book he ordered and the comics Frida and Katsuma ordered. The old turtle frowned, realizing the last two letters where just junk mail. He walked over and through it away before turning back to his children and his two best friends' grandchildren. August looked so much like April and Charlie looked so much like Casey it gave him happiness and sadness at once. Casey died about two years ago and April died about ten years ago, he was just happy they died peacefully. "What you guys up to."
"Charlie and August was showing us the new tech they made with Basque." Frida said, trying not to lie. "They where about to leave."
"Yeah, we have to go watch Cody." Charlie said getting up to stand, Cody was their baby brother.
"I see," Michelangelo nodded, smiling at the children. "Send your parents my best." He said walking into the other room. Katsuma let out a breath, she was the worst when it came to lying.
"So, tonight. We'll leave when he falls asleep." Frida said with a nod to note he was gone.
It was midnight, Michelangelo fell asleep in his recliner watching TV with half of a pizza next to him. Each Mecha was able to creep past their father, Katsuma leaving a note for him on top of the pizza box. The four met the Jones boys at the turtle bikes, August checking them over to make sure they could make the journey. Charlie looked up, seeing the four jump from the roof tops to the garage. "Just in time, August just did a check on the bikes and put a tracking device in case you get lost." He said with a soft smile as August pulled himself off the ground and dusted himself off.
There where three bikes, one of which having a side car. Katsuma was still a little too short to have her own bike and when in the suit she didn't need one. She walked over to her side car and put her bag in the hidden apartment on the bike, the rest following suit. "Okay, I'll do another check," Basque said, pulling his tablet out to make sure they had everything they needed before looking up and nodded. "We're good."
"Be safe," Charlie said, walking to Basque. The Mechas never been so far that they couldn't back them up within the quick time frame. Basque smiled, pulling Charlie in for a hug before letting him go.
"Char, everything will work out. I promise." He assured before getting on the bike that Katsuma was connected to. Since he was the biggest it was easier for him to have the extra weight. Not to mention, with his little sister with him she was able to pull his tablet out if he couldn't. Charlie nodded, a little nervously but he knew how strong his friends where. Jackson and Frida followed suit, getting on their bikes after putting the luggage away.
"You two keep the city safe for us, right?" Frida asked, moving to put on her helmet. Basque and Katsuma following suit, Jackson was always afraid a helmet would fuck up his hair.
"Of course we will," August said with a nod, sending Frida a soft smile that she returned after kissing his cheek.
"Alright, Turtles, lets ride." Frida said, pulling her bike out. The others nodding and following her out. August sighed but Charlie pouted.
"Why didn't Basque kiss my cheek?" August just rolled his eyes in return.
The night was busy, New York never really sleeps as it was. Frida and her siblings zoomed through the crowd heading outside the city. They had one week to find their Uncle and bring him back. Only Jackson and Frida have ever been outside New York, Frida was from an outside city that was practically a ghost town now. No one really knew where Jackson came from. He didn't like talking about it. None of them really spoke about their past.
As they sped they passed neon lights. As they hit the end of the city they saw the stars that they could only see when at the Jones Farmhouse. They chose to go to the farmhouse to camp for the night. They didn't bother setting the camp equipment out they slept in the old barn and come morning they where back on the road.
Michelangelo sat up from his sleep, hoping it was dream. He checked the whole lair to find that the children and a weeks worth of supplies where missing. He sighed, getting scared when he saw the note written on the pizza box to confirm that his dream was correct. His first instinct was to find his children but another was to tell Donnie what they did for advice.
The old turtle walked to the med bay to see his brother sitting up and watching TV. It was one of his good days. He couldn't ruin that by telling him the kids ran off. He took a breath, "Good morning."
"Morning Mikey, where's the kids? I want to help Basque out today."
"Oh.. Well, you where right I tend to hold too tight to the kids. They asked permission to go find Leo for you, so, I allowed them." Donnie rose a brow.
"They would do that for me?"
"Well, wouldn't you?" Mikey asked, pulling out the communicator before sighing. It was already ten in the morning they where probably back on the road for now. He typed a message to tell the kids to be careful before moving to sit with Donnie.
Morning came, the sun shining bright to wake the children. They ate and got back on the road when Katsuma read the message from their father. She typed back how they where before she focused on the old highway that no one used anymore. It was mid day before they came to a stop. They where getting close to Mutant Territory now, they could all feel it in their bones. The only thing they could see past the sign was a cornfield and a highway. Frida looked over the sign that marked out the old town's name with "MUTANT TERRITORY" in large bold letters.
"If the territory was only a day's drive why hadn't he came to see Michelangelo before?" Jackson asked, pushing a button on the goggles he wore while driving the bike. The goggles had a function to look farther, like binoculars.
"Well, Leonardo was fighting some really bad demons before he left. I don't think me showing up really helped." Frida said, her voice hiding the hurt as she admitted that. They didn't know the true reason Leonardo didn't want to be with his family. Maybe it was her fault but at the moment she couldn't dwell on that. "You see anything J?" She asked, taking her helmet off to run a hand through her hair.
"A couple miles down is the actual town," Jackson said, looking around. "This is just some Children of the Corn shit out here."
"I kind of expected woods or a jungle to be hiding them." Katsuma said with a shrug.
"Its not the early 2000's Kat." Jackson pointed out, making the younger one roll her eyes. "Anyways, I highly doubt we or our suits will be welcome in this town." Frida nodded, getting off her bike and pushing her bike to the abandoned gas station the sign was near. "Park your bike Jackson, your coming with me." She stated. "Basque. Kat.. Stay here, if we need back up or found him we'll let you know through the Coms."
"Wouldn't we be safer together?" Katsuma asked.
"If we all go and the Mutants don't want to listen we would be no help if we got caught too." Basque said, agreeing with the plan. He knew Jackson would never stay still which is why Frida was making him go with her. He figured that was a good idea. As he said, they didn't know what to expect. "Just be careful, please?" Frida nodded, pulling her sais out. As much as she won't go Mecha does not mean she won't go without a way to protect herself. Jackson followed suit, strapping his sword to his back.
"I am not sure how a stick and sticks with chains are going to help us." Katsuma pointed out.
"You guys know how to use it though, besides, going Mecha could cause a war." Frida said, playing with her little sister's hair before going to Jackson. "Be careful!" Jackson walked beside his sister, his goggles seeing the town in the distance. She seen plenty of Mutants walking around living their life but none of them being an old ass turtle.
"You sure he is here?"
"No, but, we have to try. We only have a week to find him and sooner the better." Frida said, walking with Jackson. Jackson nodded putting his goggles in the top of his head as he walked. They got to the town, mutants stopping to look at the humans with weapons on their person. They erupted in whispers, keeping a distance. Frida gave the ones looking at them a smile and walked to the nearest fruit stand and bought a few apples to show she meant no harm. She handed her brother an apple that looked around.
"What are you two humans doing here?" A voice called, Frida and Jackson turning to see a rabbit and a fox standing side by side.
"We're looking for our uncle," she said before Jackson could pop off.
"An uncle?" The fox asked, "Your human."
"So?" Jackson popped, "We were adopted by a turtle and that turtle has a brother we are looking for. Have you seen Leonardo or not?" The rabbit's eyes went wide, drawing his sword and holding the tip against Jackson's throat.
"What do you two want with Sensei?" He asked with a growl. The fox flexing his hand to grab his blades making Frida act quickly and pull out her sais. She threw one to make the fox remove his hand.
"Put the blades away," Frida said, grabbing Jackson's hand so he didn't pull his sword out. "Leonardo's brother is dying."
"Ripley. Menchie." A voice said, walking forward grabbing the sai off the ground, "Stand down." The four turned to an old turtle in blue robes. Frida and Jackson both bowed to the turtle. Frida remembered who he was. "You two do not belong here," he said handing the sais over to Frida.
"Your right," Frida said, putting her sais in her holster while Menchie, the Rabbit, put his blade away. "You didn't answer the letters from our father, Leonardo-san." Frida said. Jackson was looking him over, he didn't look like the turtle that his father had so many honorable stories about. He looked like a coward for running away from his brothers.
"Donatello-san is dying. Cancer." Jackson spoke, "If you read the letters that Michelangelo-san sent you, you would have known that." Leo's eyes went wide, listening to the child who was so ready to fight for Leo's brothers. He had the fire of Raphael. Maybe he had been away too long.
"How dare you speak to Sensei like that." Ripley growled.
"Rip, thats quiet alright. I understand his anger. You must be Jackson, leaving you to be Frida." He said turning to the redhead. "I remember your eyes the most." He said with a soft smile. "Where are the other two?"
"At the gas station, we didn't know what to expect." Frida said, not letting her dominant demeanor fade.
"Send them here, I'll make tea." He said, using his walking stick to start heading towards the town dojo. Jackson sent the signal to his siblings and the bikes.
Leonardo watched the four humans walk in his dojo, he could tell different things just by looking at them. Frida was the leader, she looked like she would do anything for her team. Jackson was the hot head, somehow he still was worthy enough for a katana though. Basque was the smart one, he wore so much tech that if he wasn't human he could confuse him for Donnie. Lastly, Katsuma, she was the youngest and she appeared to be the glue. It hurt his heart to be in the same room with the memories that flowed back.
Menchie poured the tea for their guests and themselves, earning a thank you from his Sensei. He and Ripley where tense with the four and Leonardo could understand why.
"Leonardo," Frida spoke, a hand moving to Katsuma's shoulder. "These are my siblings: Jackson, Basque, and Katsuma."
"I know," he said with a nod. "I read the letters, that leaves you as Frida. I met you when you where about seven years old." Frida nodded to tell him he was correct. "These are my students, Menchie and Ripley." He said indicating to the rabbit and fox that was sitting down. Katsuma followed suit but the other Mechas had not. "You have questions."
"We do," Frida said, reaching down to pull her sister back up.
"If you read the letters why haven't you returned?" Basque spoke, surprising Jackson with the amount of anger he had. "Donatello-san asks for you in your sleep. You missed out of his life for ten years and haven't thought about coming back? I know he told you he was sick!"
"Basque," Frida said looking at him.
"Fi, he is right. This man deserves no honor that our dad and Uncle talk about. Even before Ol' Man Jones died all they can say is how honorable you are. I wear blue- I am suppose to live up to your legacy and your a coward!" Jackson said, his fists shaking.
"You can't talk to him like that!" Menchie stood, protesting. "You don't know what happened!"
"But we do!" Jackson kept going, his anger felt Basque's so it added to his fuel. He didn't care that he got in trouble disrespecting that man but he wasn't going to let Basque. "Our Uncle Raph died saving Fi and other kids." He spoke, not even Basque and Katsuma knew that part just that a human killed Raphael. "I don't know if you blame my sister or not -all I know is that you went back to get revenge then wouldn't talk to our dad and Donnie again."
"Jackson, stop." Frida said.
"No! You blame yourself for this and thats why you jumped on board so quickly." He said, Frida sighing. He aired out all the laundry. Leonardo frowned, looking over at the four children. His heart breaking.
"I don't blame you for Raphael's death," Leonardo said. If he did blame her he never meant to, it wasn't her fault. Surely he knew that. "Losing my brother was hard and I did leave. I found this community and tried to help them." He sighed, putting a hand on Menchie's head. "Then Usagi came to me about six years ago asking me to take care of his grandson." Menchie's eyes went to the floor. "I made the decision to stay for his protection and then two years ago I took Ripley in."
"You should have written them," Frida said, trying to keep her voice calm.
"Your right, it is just very painful." Leonardo explained, putting his hand down. "How long does Donnie have?"
"Not long," spoke Basque. "We gave ourselves a week to find you in hopes that would be enough time." Katsuma was physically uncomfortable with how this was going. She knew nothing of all these or how much pain her Uncle and sister had in their heart. It was hard to endure.
"You don't have to stay," She said softly, "Think about going back with us?" Leonardo sighed, watching the little girl look at him with wide eyes that he saw Mikey use so many times in their life. He looked to his students before looking at his nephews and nieces.
"Let me meditate on it, you should rest and eat." Leonardo said, nodding. "Boys, please show these four to their room and show them around." He stood. "Make sure they eat." Leonardo walked into another room.
The sandy brown rabbit and the red fox watched the humans, leading them down the hallway into the guest rooms. Ripley didn't understand why the humans even cared, they never cared for mutant lives before.. Or at least the humans he encountered before finding the mutant territory. Menchie took the boys to their room and the girls to theirs before looking them over, "I'll prepare dinner, Ripley show them around."
"Why me?" He argued.
"Sensei wants to show them what he helped build, you'll do fine. Besides, I trust you to keep the locals calm. Okay little brother?" Ripley was a bit taller than Menchie but he was the younger one, possibly a year older than Katsuma. Ripley sighed, nodding in agreement.
"Fine, come along humans." He groaned.
Katsuma walked beside Ripley as he spoke, her older siblings just looking around a few steps behind the two. Ripley looked at Katsuma, "What are you looking at?"
"You?" She asked confused, "Your tense, I guess I understand. No one here is relaxed."
"How can we?" He asked, "You four want to take away from the only thing we have as a parent." Katsuma tilt her head, listening to him.
"Do you think thats what we want? We would love for you to come with us. You can meet your Sensei's brothers."
"We are safe here," he said. Kat frowned, stopping making the group stop.
"We would never let someone hurt you, its what family does." She said as Menchie walked outside on the balcony not far from where they were.
"Come on Kat, lets eat we need to eat then pack up to go home." Frida said walking towards the dojo.
Leonardo was already waiting for the children in the diner room, he sighed looking over at the children. He took a long time to meditate on the idea of going back home. When he saw Frida come in her pulled her to the side, looking at her red hair and eyes that reminded the old turtle of his brother. "You're right Frida," Leonardo said, frowning. "I left because I blamed you -and all humans for Raphael. Mikey said he wanted to keep you and it angered me even more." He admitted, "I need you to understand, I should have never blamed you. He was a hero and he would have wanted to keep you anyways." He explained, "I stayed because of this community and my students, not you. I should have wrote and saw your father I am so very sorry." Frida's eyes where damp, it hurt to hear the truth but it needed to be said. Leonardo pulled his niece in his arms. "You're a good leader and I will come home. Your cousins are coming of course." He pulled away making the redhead smile.
"I would like that, Uncle." She said, whipping her tears.

WELL. it’s me again. i’m sam ( she / her, 21, est timezone ) and i also play parker! i’ve finally decided to bring in another muse and bob morley also avan jogia is the loml, so he we go! character info under the cut! please message me if you’d like to plot because i would absolutely love that!
FIRST. let’s just. let’s get it out of the way right here and now that this is a sideblog so i will be messing up and posting shit to the wrong accounts sometimes bc i’m dumb. let’s all just. take a moment to laugh abt it now so we don’t have to do it later. k cool we can carry on now
「 AVAN JOGIA, CISMALE, 26, PARAMORE. 」┈ did you read that latest viral gossip issue on SKY ARAO? he is the DRUMMER in BETTER NOW, one of my favorite ALT ROCK groups. they’ve been releasing music for FOUR YEARS now, but viral gossip has only been talking about them for the last TWO YEARS. get this, i think i heard HE’S THE ILLEGITIMATE CHILD OF A WEALTHY PUBLIC FIGURE. they’re known as the CALIGINOUS of the music industry, since they have a rep for being TRENCHANT but SELF - SERVING, but who knows. maybe that will change once they become #1.
born and raised deep in the swamplands of louisiana, sky’s only parent was a single mom who was nowhere near old enough or prepared enough to have a kid, tbh. she did sincerely try to take care of him at first but she had a drug problem that got very out of hand very quickly. sky was barely even five years old when the state stepped in and had him placed into the foster system.
has the slightest of southern accents but if you point it out he will deny it
will occasionally speak a little cajun french though & some tagalog bc we stan a multilingual grump
spent the rest of his childhood without a family or stable home. he was shuffled all over the state — placed in group homes, orphanages, and many different foster homes which were unfortunately very neglectful and unsafe sometimes. by his preteen years he was practically living on the streets of new orleans, survival instincts sharply honed.
he learns fast and had very quickly become an expert thief, pickpocket, and con artist, but that doesn’t mean he never got caught. he did. a lot. like his juvie record is longer than your arm
somehow still found time to experience your typical teenage first love resulting in unbearable heartbreak with a girl who lived on the streets and ran scams just like him. it was a bonnie & clyde together forever type of romance until it wasn’t cause the girl shockingly ditched him while he was in serious trouble in order to save her own skin and he never saw her again
not long after that he turned seventeen AND THEN SOMETHING SUPER IMPORTANT HAPPENED. by that i mean he was sought out by his social worker for once who then proceeded to 1) tell him his mother had died and 2) take him away to california because apparently there was a family out there who wanted to adopt him! and they did!
his new family wasn’t actually new though because the man who adopted him was his biological father. he and sky’s mother were lovers for the brief time wherein sky’s father was visiting louisiana in his late teen years but he left before ever finding out that he was going to have a child. he’d never stopped thinking about sky’s mom, however, so he’d do some digging every few years. of course by the time he finally did find her it was because of an obituary and then he’d heard about sky and just knew that this was his kid.
sky learned about all of this right away upon meeting his father and to say he didn’t take it very well is a MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENT TBH. he was furious. after all, his father had a whole new family! a wife and kids and a very prestigious job AND OH YEAH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO HIS NAME BUT HE’D NEVER HELPED SKY EVEN ONCE. it didn’t really help that he was clearly trying to make up for his absence in sky’s life by being present now that he had the opportunity and anyway, it turned out he had ulterior motives for that.
basically, a large part of his dad’s wealth was in fact inherited through the family. they’re all old money posh so finding out that the next family patriarch had an unknown son who was technically his firstborn was terrifying. blood or not, they couldn’t just hand centuries of traditions and carefully cultivated wealth over to a high school dropout who didn’t know how to behave and simply couldn’t be trusted with their unblemished legacy. so, sky’s dad was just keeping him close while he talked to lawyers about whether or not sky had any legitimate claim to anything owned by his family and of course, the sneaky street smart kid he is, sky figured out what was going on pretty quickly and bolted back to where he was most comfortable — the streets.
he was still seventeen at the time and he’s lived in los angeles ever since but hasn’t had any contact with his father or seen a single penny of that family money
so yeah he’s illegitimate, no actual rights to their fortune
lived on the streets in los angeles for a while, but with a little hard work ( and a lot of thievery and conning ) he was eventually able to get himself a little apartment while working various jobs
nothing really stuck until better now, but when he first joined the band he’d literally never played the drums before. ever. not once before in his entire life. did he lie anyway and say that he was a Drumming Expert™ because he’d get paid to play gigs with them and happened to be broke af at the time? why yes he absolutely did
since then they switched lead singers with sweets having joined the band four years ago and they’ve released one album that was lit af! they’re currently in the middle of putting together their second album and since sky’s found out that he actually really likes drumming things have been pretty good for him. he lives in a nice apartment and finally has enough money to get by without conning or stealing. he still doesn’t really know how to deal with being a celebrity but tbh he actually adores the attention? he loves having fans? people in his life who seem to genuinely love and care about him? what is this new and exciting concept he’s confused but happy nonetheless
never ever talks about his dad / family though
as usual i was Extra™ and went off with the backstory stuff, but we can move onto personality now!
by default assumes that literally everyone he meets is going to betray him. is truly on some x files trust no one shit
except he does actually genuinely trust a few people for now i’m going to say just his bandmates since i imagine they’ve been through a lot together at this point but that’s open to expansion
street smart, charming, sometimes flirtatious, witty, perspicacious, determined, tough, mistrustful, surly, reckless, uncouth, self-serving af sometimes
all of sky’s save his own skin above all else stuff? kind of a lie. he’s got a soft spot for people in need of help and though he might do it begrudgingly, sky often will put others before him.
the other personality traits i listed are pretty spot on though
street smart af but book smart? not so much. he picks up on things quickly but he’s still pretty dumb lmao and will in fact say some stupid shit at least 2932589843794836708 times a day
however he’s not always much of a talker. he’s gotta be in the mood bc if he isn’t and you try to have a convo with him he’s gonna be even more standoffish than usual
when he does talk though, sky is often sarcastic, pessimistic, and surly
he’s permanently grumpy
except he also has many soft spots that are very easy to find
stale cinnamon roll, been in this world too long, too cynical w/ a dash of sinnamon roll
legend has it he’s never smiled ever not even once
he’s usually a cute little ray of sunshine around fans though bc they just?? make him so happy?? it makes him so happy to know that people love better now and that they LOVE HIM OK
though if ever called out for smiling he would immediately deny
will absolutely throw hands if he has to
lowkey a total mom friend who thrives on being a total mom friend but acts like he hates it? like he’ll grumble at you to bring your jacket bc it might be cold out and he’ll seem like he’s doing it very begrudgingly but on the inside? HE IS THRIVING IN THAT MOMENT
TL;DR - louisiana born street smart drummer for better now with an accent he denies having and an extremely rich family who wants nothing to do with him but it wasn’t like he ever cared anyway. charming and flirtatious but also can be grumpy and pessimistic. expert pickpocket and con artist. has no idea how to handle being a celebrity but he secretly enjoys the love he gets from fans. never smiles, loves whiskey, probably takes way too many naps on his couch. secret mom friend. has trouble trusting and allowing himself to get close to anyone & everyone.
finally…it’s over. if you actually read this far then i applaud you. i don’t have any specific plots in mind EXCEPT FOR POTENTIALLY HALF SIBLINGS RELATED THROUGH HIS FATHER SO PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF YOU’RE INTERESTED BC Y E S but if you know me then you know i want all the plots so feel free to message me and we can definitely work something out! as usual i’m super excited to write with you folks!

Take me home. - Part 1 / Luke Alvez - Angst Prompt request
This wasn´t requested by anybody, I chose the prompts :-)
Prompts: 86 - “Don´t be scared, I´m right here.” ; 76 - “You´re not alone.”; 72 - “You need sleep.”; 37 - “Thank you for everything.” and 35 - “You make me feel safe.”
Warnings: Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Mention of death and violence
Characters: Luke Alvez x Reader; mention of the reader´s family, the team of Season 12, mention of an unsub
A/N: so this was a request by me idk. I just read somewhere something about how Luke loves to separate work and his personal life and since I am still such a fan of the episode where Emily almost adopted that girl I started to imagine what would happen if Luke would have to make this decision. (idk either man my brain is just weird and actually wants me to go to sleep but oh well.) Since this got so long, I will make it a two parter and que the other part for tommorrow. I hope you gus like it and please send requests of leave feedback (I´d like both but I take what I get :-))
Luke Alvez had never been someone who brought his work home or let his private life get affected by work. Not until that one case came up.
Emily, Tara, JJ, Rossi, Stephen, Reid and Luke were called in by the police department of Detroit, Michigan to help catch an unsub who killed families for yet unknown reasons. This is why the cops in Detroit needed their help. When the team arrived, the unsub already found his newest victims. This time, it happened to be a single mom and her teenage daughter who lived on an army base due to the father of this family being a member of the military but sadly died during defending his country in Afghanistan.
This time, something changed in the MO of the killer. They did not know if it was by accident or if he wanted to change it unconsciously. He only succeeded in killing the stepmother of the family, Stephanie Vertes. The young girl, Y/N Vertes, survived the attack. He didn´t drug her enough to kill her. He most likly tortures the parents in front of the kids before he kills them, then he turns towards the kids.
Y/N was rushed into the nearest hospital and when she regained consciousness, she went mute. This was her way of coping with the trauma. She did not talk to anybody; no one seemed to get through to her. No one but Luke. Y/N knew right then that he would be the only one who understood her even without saying a word. He told her that he was an ex-army ranger, but he didn´t need to tell her. She saw it. She knew it that she could trust him. He was just like her dad. A hero.
The days went on and Y/N still did not talk, too afraid of her own voice. She communicated through gestures with Luke, but as soon as anybody else entered the room, she went quiet again.
It took the team three more days until they finally caught the man and they could fly back home. This was the day which changed Luke Alvez´ life forever.
Garcia tried to find any close relatives of the girl, but she did not find a single one. She was left alone and the thought of a young, traumatized girl being moved into a foster home or foster family broke Luke´s heart. After overtalking his thoughts with Emily and the team, he offered Y/N to come and live with him which she accepted immediatly. They filled out a lot of forms and after that they were free to go. After packing up some of Y/N´s most important things, they went on the jet to fly back to Y/N´s new home.
After a four hour flight, they finally landed and Luke grabbed his and Y/N´s gear to head home. Emily gave him some time off to help Y/N adjust to her new environment and assured him that the team would be there for him and her if they needed anything. With this in mind, Luke and Y/N went on their drive to his apartment. He did not dare to say a word because he did not want to overwhelm the young girl.
20 minutes later, they arrived at the apartment complex and they headed inside. Luke unlocked the door and was immediatly greeted by Roxy. He knelt down to pet his dog.
“Hey you! Missed me?” He smiled brightly and his smile seemed to be contagious because Y/N started smiling too for the first time since the incident.
“This is my dog, Roxy. She loves to cuddle and to play. I hope you don´t mind her being her.” Y/N shook her head, still smiling and crouching down to play with the dog. Luke watched the two for a while before he got up.
“I´m gonna put your bags into the guestroom and then I´ll prepare some food. I´ll be right back.”, he said, but Y/N did not seem to listen; she was too busy playing with Roxy.
30 minutes later, Luke, Y/n and Roxy finished dinner and while Roxy went to take a nap, Luke and Y/N cleaned up the dishes and the kitchen. It was already past midnight and Luke could see that Y/N was struggling to stay awake. After he cleaned the last plate, he said:
“Why don´t you go and get some sleep? It´s pretty late and you need some rest.”
Suddenly, her mood changed and the agent saw that the young girl started to panic.
“Hey, it´s okay, it´s okay. Don´t be scared, I´m right here. I´m not going to leave. You´re not alone.”
Y/N started to cry. She indeed was too scared to go to sleep because of the nightmares which haunted her every night. They did not seem to go away. She was scared to be confronted with what happened and the fact that she was all alone in this world.
Luke tried to hug her, but the girl flinched and backed away from him, steading herself on the counter. “Y/N...it´s okay. You don´t have to be scared. I won´t hurt you. No one will ever hurt you again, okay? Trust me. I am here and I won´t leave you anytime soon, but you need sleep.”
Y/N again started to panic and shook her head. Although she knew that she really needed sleep, she just couldn´t. That´s when Alvez had an idea.
“Okay, what do you think about this: We´ll pick out a movie, do some popcorn and get comfortable on the couch since you don´t want to go to sleep yet?”
She knew his intention behind this, but anyway she agreed to it because it sounded less scary to just “pass out” into sleep than laying in bed and waiting for sleep to consume you.
After being 15 minutes into the movie, Y/N slipped into a kinda peaceful sleep and Luke carried her to her room. He let the door of her room open so he could hear if something was off or bothering her in her sleep and to show her that she was not alone. He then went to his room and got ready for bed. He too was exhausted from the days and finally got into bed himself to catch some sleep.

Hamilton Foster House au  Chapter 1
Characters: George Washington, Martha Washington, Original Character, John Laurens, the rest appear in chapter two.
Word Count: 1,493
Trigger warnings: None that I can think of apart from negative thoughts and crying, please tell me if you find anything.
Honestly, she was terrified. As she sat in the back of the car she went through every possible scenario in her head where they would hate her and send her back. They’re going to hate you hate you horrible no good fat ugly hate you hate you. She covered her ears with her hands to try and block out the voices that told her ‘you’re not good enough for them Ottie’. The driver looked back but said nothing, ‘he must be used to crazy kids like me’, she thought. Her social worker took one of her hands and held it in hers.
“Calm down Ottilie, they are going to love you, and I'm sure you are going to love them as well.”
Ottilie might have believed her if this wasn’t her fifth time being adopted. There was a new complaint every time. Too quiet, won’t listen to me, never comes out of her room, too high maintenance. It was as if people didn’t understand that she was likely to have problems after what she went through. ‘It’s not as if sending me back didn’t leave me more messed up’ she sneered in her head.
The car pulled into a huge circular driveway, all around her were sweeping grass fields, and straight ahead was a giant white mansion. The family stood on the steps, waving at the car as it parked alongside them. “That’s Martha and her husband George.” said her social worker, “They’re lovely people, they already have many adopted kids, I suppose they didn’t want to overwhelm you” she explained at the lack of teenagers on the step with them. Ottilie looked out of her window, they looked friendly enough, but she’d been fooled before.
“Ok,” she said simply.
By the time she had got out of the car her social worker was already chatting up a storm with her new guardians. Ottilie opted to get her bag from the boot, it was a small suitcase with a plush bunny on top, she plucked him off and held him close. Tentatively she walked towards where her social worker was stood, Martha spotted her and walked towards her,
“Hello sweetheart, I’m Martha, you must be Ottilie.” She held her hand out for Ottilie to shake, Ottilie thanked God she hadn’t asked for a hug.
“Yeah,” She said quietly.
“Please let me take your bag honey and we’ll put it in the kitchen for now. We’ve been so excited to have you here. Are you nervous?” They walked together towards the kitchen in question.
“Yeah” Ottilie replied again. “Well don’t worry sugar, we’ve been through this many times before, try not to be overwhelmed by my talking so much, don’t feel any pressure to reply if you don’t want to. Just take everything at you’re own pace.” Martha’s kindness radiated off of her like sunbeams. Ottilie stepped back slightly.
“Thank you” She said and walked back to where her social worker had trapped George in a riveting conversation about the geraniums that were hanging on either side of the door.
“Really you should water them twice a day, with feed in the morning and just water in the evening, especially in this heat. I would suggest getting some lamps as well, that would really boost their productivity. I am so glad that this is a warm friendly environment for Ottilie, she loves flowers, which is great because so do I! I once told her -”
“That’s really lovely miss,” George said as politely as possible “But i’m afraid I have to go to work soon and I would really love to meet this Ottilie before I leave”
“Oh, well of course, goodbye Ottilie, have a lovely time. If you need anything don’t hesitate to call, I haven’t abandoned you” She said, backing away.
“Goodbye,” Ottilie waved.
Once the car had vanished, Ottilie was left sitting on the front step.
“Are you going to come in then honey?” George asked her.
“I suppose”
“I’m George, you don’t have to call me dad if you don’t want to, some of the other kids do, but George is fine as well if you want.” He said kindly.
“George is fine” Ottilie replied.
“Great! We have food cooking if you would like some, I can show you to your room if you would like?”
“Great” she repeated, lifelessly.
“Cool, let's go in then”
The staircase was huge, that was the first thing Ottilie noticed. Everything in the house seemed to be super-sized. When she stepped into the room allocated for her it was even bigger than she could have imagined. The king sized bed was the center of her focus,
“Woah” She gasped. George laughed,
“Do you like it?”
“Yeah”
“Great, I hope you will be comfortable here Ottilie, we hope that eventually, you can become truly a part of the family.” He said, looking down on Ottilie with kind eyes. She shuffled awkwardly under his gaze before plucking up the courage to answer,
“Ottie”
“Pardon?”
“You can call me Ottie if you want. It’s the nickname my mum gave me when I was little.” She almost whispered. George put his hand on her shoulder and smiled warmly,
“Of course Ottie, now, I have to leave for work, Martha will come up and help you unpack, the boys will be home soon, I have told them not to touch you or shout at you until you are comfortable but I am afraid they often do not listen.”
“That’s ok,” Ottie said and turned slightly so he could hug her. His embrace was warm and comforting. Ottie felt sick. She pulled away.
“Goodbye”
“Goodbye Ottie”
When she was alone she sat down on the end of the huge bed. A small sob escaped her tight throat. This family was nice, too nice. Before she knew it she was going to get attached and then sent away again, she even gave them her nickname. That was for her mother only to use, not some fake family that would abandon her the moment they saw someone else, someone better. Hot tears rolled down her cheeks and her head throbbed with pain. A quiet knock at her door drew her out of this daze.
“Ottilie?” A male voice said, it wasn’t George, she frantically rubbed at her eyes.
“Yes?” She whispered back.
“Hi honey, I’m John, your new brother?”
“Oh, ok”
“Can I come in?”
“If you want.” She answered. She rubbed at her eyes a final time as the door slowly opened. A pretty curly haired boy poked his head around the corner, his tanned face full of freckles. He smiled warmly before his expression morphed into that of worry.
“You’ve been crying! What’s wrong sunshine?” He asked, coming fully into the room. She smiled at the pet name.
“Nothing really. It's all a bit overwhelming”
“Yeah, I felt like that when I first came. I came last year. It’s been a struggle trying to adjust but trust me they’re wonderful people.”
“Great”
“You don’t talk much do you?” Her face fell. She knew what happened now. He didn’t like her, she was being rude, she’d be completely alone here with no friends and then they would see it wasn’t working and send her home. Fresh tears pricked at her eyes and rolled down her cheeks, she tried to turn away but he had her in a firm grip.
“Oh, no sugar don’t cry. Oh God, i’m so sorry, it’s only your first day and I've already fucked it up. Come on hon’ I've got you” He cradled her in his arms. Ottilie sobbed quietly into his shoulder.
“I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. You can send me back if you want”
“What! No. Of course we want you here!” He almost shouted, holding her tighter when she flinched. Ottilie just cried harder. She heard footsteps on the stairs that arrived at her door.
“That’s enough Johnny, I know you’re doing what you think is right but she needs a little space right now, go find your brothers will you, they should be home now.” Martha said, ushering John out of the room, she walked towards Ottie,
“Shh shhh darling, shh,” She said, cradling her softly in her arms, “Good girl, nice deep breaths for me, there we go” Ottilie calmed down slowly and rested her head in Martha’s lap.
“I want to be happy here” She whispered,
“You will be, I promise, it just might take a bit of time”
“I love John, he’s so nice, I think I've scared him away”
“No of course not honey, I scared him away, he’s easily worried but not one to act without a solid reason, he would never hate you” She hugged Ottie close one last time and then let her go and walked towards the door,
“Martha?”
“Yes, sweetie?”
“What’s for dinner?” Martha chuckled, “Chicken, don’t worry dear,” she added before she left, “You’re going to fit in just fine here.”
Thank you for reading! Please give me feedback on how I can improve and what you want to happen next. This is my first fanfiction on here and I have some plans on where I want it to go but really it’s just me getting the writing bug out. Hope you enjoy!
