top ten reasons why you should vote for the ramshackle trio in the @obscure-skirmish showdown
sponsored by my huuge special interest and infodumping tendencies
pls read it i put a lotta effort and time into it 👉👈 (but ig the tl;dr is im incredibly autistic abt zeddy and her work and i really want them to win)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first off, who are these guys? skipp (the blonde-ish happy one), stone (the skrunkly emo boi), and vinnie (the pirate gremlin) are three hobos who do whatever they can to survive on the streets. pickpocketing, other kinds of theivery, murder, and general mischief. anything goes! the world theyre in is old-timey (@zeddyzi, the creator, has described it as walking into an antique shop). it was originally a comic on webtoon/tumblr, and now its getting an animated pilot sometimes! isnt that cool!?
so, do you like hobo children? the found family trope? little guys? amazing, unique art? funny characters? ramshackle has all of that and more!! so much more!
onto the actual list :3
reason #1: the comedy. ive already said this but lemme elaborate on it a bit more here. if you like comedy w heart, ramshackle might be the thing for you. the trio is just some dummies (endearing) doing dumb things together and they love each other and just waahhhh look at themm
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
reason #2: the art. just,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
look
Tumblr media
at it. zeddy mostly uses what i like to call a dirt color pallete. im just using more colorful examples bc i can. fun fact, my art style is heavily influenced by hers, and she also inspired me to draw a lot more. you should vote for that right?
reason #3: im really autistic abt ramshackle 🥺 and, and if you dont vote for it 🥺🥺youre being ableist🥺🥺🥺 /j (obviously vote for who you want to lmoo)
reason #4: uhh, i think im talking abt zeddy more than the actual ramshackle trio, so ehm, skipp! a happy-go-lucky air mandolin-playing apple enjoyer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
he eats apples whole, core and all :0 also since he has no money he plays the air mandolin (and keep in mind this isnt rlly recent info so maybe its not canon anymore hehe, i dont rly see timestamps on posts). hes so dumb and sweet, youd vote for him right?
reason #5: stone. where do i start? hes a sopping wet pathetic emo whos addicted to monster energy, ciggies, and the weird goo leaking outta the old shack downtown (ok that one may not be... confirmed. yet). he also somehow has most of the fandom simping for him
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
reason #6: vinnie! the money gremlin! whos also vaguely pirate themed! and may or may not have stabbed someone in the dick (theres a post abt this but i cannot find it 😭)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
if you dont vote for her, she might stab *you* in the dick. just sayin.
fuck. reason #7: i put a lot of effort into this propaganda post
🥺👉👈
reason #8: do you honestly need any more reasons for that? i just feel like if this much propaganda wont sway you, nothing will
reason #9: are any of these technically reasons? or just me seeing an opportunity to infodump abt my favorite thing and swooping in?
reason #10:
Tumblr media
please.

The Stormlight Archive Volume 1: The Way of Kings’ Review: Chapters 5-8
Tumblr media
link to contents page - https://at.tumblr.com/the-vibes-are-off/hey-hey/96xd9ohihrzs
Right, well, you know how I said in my previous post that my COVID test was negative? Yeah so I was swiftly clowned and I am now SICK right on essay season. I have dug out crusty dusty old HP Pavilion to do work but I’m essentially only using it for Tumblr so. My partner is officially in another country now (I know you’re going to read this so pls come back I am dying) so I cant even be babied 24/7 due to the time difference. On season 4 of Criminal Minds already tho so ....
In terms of reading, I am officially back and LOVING it. I am limiting myself to 4 chapters in one setting because that’s how much I want my review sections to cover and writing this takes longer than I thought it would tbh. Lets get to it!
Spoiler Free Zone:
The split narrative is like definitely managing my problems with maintaining my attention. I will say that since Kaladin’s story line, although definitely interesting don’t get me wrong, would probably get boring if it was all I was reading. I’m more a magic and lore and pretty women fantasy enjoyer than a grr fight fantasy enjoyer since my like gritty lit enjoyment comes from different genres.
Loving the direction that Shallan’s plot line is going in, I’m glad Brandon doesn’t just give the characters what they want straight away and there is at least the illusion that they’re working for something even though its obvious they’ll achieve it eventually.
Mostly, I’m just loving the characters they’re introducing in Shallan’s story, maybe not so much SOME people (a certain person specifically I dislike is beginning, BEGINNING to grow on me) as they’re just so lovely and cute and nice and ugh we love to see it.
*** SPOILERS INCOMING ***
Spoiler Zone:
I’m saying it now, I did initially think Jasnah was just a bitch tbh like I get she’s all important and up her own ass or whatever but she doesn’t appreciate art??? I get Shallan like couldnt just get what she wanted but like .... come on. I was so mad when she just started shouting n shit when Shallan was waiting in the alcove like get a grip pls. However.... turning a boulder to smoke? I had to tab that as cool, like that was just a smart idea to clear it and a cool fckn power to have
Shallan wanting to steal tho? I love her, a true icon as she should steal from the bitch. I literally just tabbed it love this bc ? Slay like what else could I do. I’d steal it too
aaaaaaaaand then were back to Kaladin actually just getting fucking shit on at every turn yet again. mf has to carry a bridge?? and then get shot at with arrows?? my goodness give this man a break
The spren getting a name tho like Syl is acc like carrying Kaladin’s arc for me I want to know what is going on there I am trying so hard not to spoil it for myself
From an arts and humanities student standpoint, I did tab Shallan describing how she views her art and the process of creation as like fleshy and human. Like in both studying and writing poetry I relate to capturing a person or a place or a moment on paper
And then 2 cuties that I simply had to draw attention to in Brother Kabsal and Yalb. They are iconic and I adore them the end :*
Tab Count:
Cute: 2
Fights: 1
Sad: 1
Death: 0
Cool: 0
Wtf wow: 1
Wtf why: 0
Slay Quotes: 0
Love this: 2
Hate this: 0
Tab Total:
Cute: 3
Fights: 4
Sad: 1
Death: 2
Cool: 4
Wtf wow: 2
Wtf why: 1
Slay Quotes: 3
Love this: 5
Hate this: 1
PS: If anyone actually reads this far down comment (or post me if you’re feeling generous) your fave tea to drink when you’re sick because I’m going through maybe 10 cups a day and I am swiftly running out....

get to know better tag
thank you @achilleslikespeas!! you're so so amazing omg- anyhoo
three ships: wolfstar, ineffable husbands (someone pls talk to me about good omens I literally can NOT rn), drarry
first ship: drarry, it’s a tried and true ship for me, ive been shipping it since I was like, a child  (literally flashback to me at like, 7 years old telling my mom that harry and Draco should get over each other and buy a castle and live together forever as a happy couple (parents were not happy that their daughter was saying this (they were homophobic( (im now gay and still shipping it so suck it, ig)))
last song: I would love to lie and say its something cool like “killer queen” or “lady stardust” bc I listen to those a lot, but once again, I would be lying and my actual last song that I listened to was “no hands (ft. Roscoe dash and wale)”, yk, the frat party song, I like to play it while writing angst
last movie: Harry Potter? idk what one, I like to put the tv on while I do stuff like budget money and write fanfic and draw, so honestly idk, it was probably the chamber of secrets, that and poa are my all time favs
currently reading: ur mom LMAO (im so sorry) no, what im reading is smut, and also like, a good omens fic about Crowley’s fall (witness the fall) bc im trying to forget about season 2′s ending. im also reading away childish things (again) bc like, that's one of my fav drarry fics of all time. if we’re talking about marauders fics, it was probably her body is a temple down in the frozen food aisle  by achilleslikespeas, both for my emotional masochistic enjoyment and bc I wanted to draw a scene in the story (go read it now pls, its really good, Claude is really good a writing and im freaking out bc I wanna draw a scene from every single one of their fics I- like go-to horror dead dove fics for me I reccomend Claude and for smut I go to moonie), if we’re talking books books, Ive been reading yellowface and I am a cat which so far, are really really good, but also like, im really bad at reading so like, I haven't actually touched them in a week LMAO
currently watching: good omens, its playing on my tv in the background both because I love it and also because Neil said if u stream it enough amazon will see how valuable it is (with the strike and everything) and like, actually be willing to negotiate, essentially, help out the strike, go watch gay celestial beings
last thing i wrote: 'Til Death Do Us Part, and Even Then, I'll Do My Best to Stay With You, its a dead dove fic centering around grief and denial, uh, 2 chapters in lol
currently writing: I have like, a million wips and no motivation to write rn so lets dive into them lol
1) chapter 3 of do death do us part, very sad, like, maybe 3 sentences in?
2) the next part of my lesbian wolf star series, its the one right before the trail one, so like, part 10 is gonna be another chapter centering more around Sirius’s memories and part 11 is gonna be the trial, I have like, 2 separate things ive written for it and I need to decide where I want it to go tbh
3) smut, gay wolf star, frat hazing blow or blow smut. sirius is on his knees and almost throws up but he doesn't and its lowkey like actually non con but its also frat hazing, like, idk how to explain the vibes but sirius is referred to as a dog and a filthy animal and degraded and he's sucking remus’s dick on coke and im like 2k words in and like, running out of ways to describe a cock lol (its also hard to bc like, I don't have a dick and my textbooks are no help sometimes) but he is also called the “pike puppy” and like, I think im smart for that and also its really filthy ngl, not a happy ending?
4) a short fluff fic to make up for the angst I put my readers through, im like 200 words in
5) au kinda thing, inspired by don't worry darling and like a TikTok that I saw (and now people are commenting on me commenting if I can write the idea and asking for the fic name and like, Im 500 words in? pls I need time), the idea is that Dumbledore has everyone under imperio or a potion to get them on his side to fight for him, lily’s pov, I really like it so far, uhh im like 500 words in I think?
so yeah, when I get inspiration im gonna write everything all at once lol, probably when my body isn't trying to kill me lmao or im at work

i have an idea for an ok ko animatic that i rly want to do but idk if itd be worth it because
a) all my animatics so far have been memes and the longest one ive done was 15 secs long. the idea i have would probably be at least a full minute and def more serious so itd take a while
b) i think the fandoms dying and i dont want to spends weeks on something two people will see
so anyway if anyones interested in a kinda angsty animatic about that one scene where boxman leaves bc shadowy venomous took over pls interact with this post in some way. id probably settle for like 10 notes (maybe less). just so i know people would watch it. and if anyone wants a dm when its done lmk

no thoughts just boxman finding out that raymond has a crush on rad and ray expecting him to freak out bc rads a hero (obviously worried bc he told shannon he would discontinue her if he found out in rad likes robots) not knowing that boxman was secretly dating venomous when he was still laserblast. like father like son

power grab - k. yeosang 18+
Tumblr media
day 29 of kinktober: soft dom - kang yeosang warnings: explicit smut, unprotected sex, soft sex, fingering, praise, sir kink, clit kissing, oral sex: f, creampie, multiple orgasms, overstimulation, cum eating, soft dom yeosang wc: 1.2k genre: pwp, smut, 18+
“Come on, baby, you can take another one,” Yeosang coos, lips pressing to the inside of your thigh as gently as possible. The touch sets you alight with pleasure, and your previous two orgasms have every nerve ending on edge as he pumps two fingers in and out of your sopping cunt. A dry sob leaves your lips, and his fingers curl until they brush over your g-spot. You close your fingers around his wrist, moving as though you’re going to pull him away, but you don’t truly want to do that. “Be a good girl for sir, princess. You want to do that, don’t you?”
“I w-wanna be your good g-girl, yes,” you huff. A bead of sweat trickles down the side of your face, catching on your hairline and disappearing into the already damp strands.
“Then you’ll take another, won’t you?” Yeosang kisses a path up to your cunt and fans hot breath over your sensitive skin. When you fail to answer right away, he presses down to leave a kiss directly over your clit, brushing the sensitive bundle of nerves with his lip. A shockwave shoots through you, and you jerk at the slight touch. A pathetic whimper slips from your mouth. Yeosang hums when he hears it, tongue poking out to caress your clit again.
“I want… Yeo, baby, please I–” you can’t finish the thought, and your voice dies in your throat. Yeosang continues to lap over your cunt like a starved man. You barely notice when he pushes a third finger into your slick walls, too overrun with pleasure to pay attention to small details like that.
“What do you want, love? Tell me, and I’ll give it to you. You’ve been such a good girl so far. It’s the least you deserve,” Yeosang whispers into your folds. His voice is too quiet to cause any serious vibrations through your body, but it’s enough to have your muscles quivering under his hold on you. “Just say the word…” You push back against the mattress, body flushing with embarrassment as Yeosang tries to draw the demands out of you. His ministrations between your legs come to a halt. You’re so desperate for that touch to persist that that is all it takes for him to pull the begging from your lips.
“Pl-Please, sir, I need – need your cock in me, please. I need it so so badly. W-Want you to fill me up and fuck me full of cum. I’ll do – I’ll do anything for it, sir.” You squirm under Yeosang in attempts to wiggle your way closer to his body, but he locks a hand around your thighs and keeps you firmly in place.
“You sound so pretty and adorable when you beg, lovely. Makes me want to wreck you and leave you a blubbering mess, but… we can save that for another day. I want you to feel good now, give a reward for being so good for me.” A sigh of relief passes through you as Yeosang pulls upwards, sliding up your body until he comes face to face with you. You greet him with a hasty kiss and slot your lips against his, arms folding around his neck and dragging him down to you without any hesitation. Yeosang lets you get away with the bold action and kisses you back with equal fervor. His tongue slips between your lips, and he’s quick to explore your wet and warm cavern, releasing a minuscule groan as you intertwine your tongue with his.
He takes your moment of distraction to drag his cock through your folds, and you would gasp if not otherwise preoccupied. Instead, your hips buck upwards, dragging over his member with the movements. Yeosang hisses into your mouth, and his tongue where it is so that he can align with your fluttering hole. He buries himself in you in one quick thrust. Your walls stretch to greet him, taking him deeper and deeper with every inch he thrusts into you, and you release a wanton moan. He swallows the sound greedily, and you let your body go slack under his weight. After a few seconds in that position, Yeosang pulls away to let you both catch your breath, then his mouth moves to your jaw, peppering it with soft kisses and lapping at the sweat-slick under his tongue.
“I’m r-ready, sir,” you pant against the shell of his ear. Yeosang’s hips jerk at the sound of your neediness, and he tries to keep himself under control as you continue to release moans and whimpers. He builds up a steady pace while fucking into you with barely contained restraint. The pleasure is immeasurable; you aren’t sure you’ve ever felt this good during sex in your life, but Yeosang keeps thrusting without relent. You gasp into his ear with each drag of his cock, quickly losing your mind to the intense pleasure overtaking your body. You want to speak, to say something – anything – but your mind draws a blank every time you try to think of what to say. Thus, you just let yourself drift away in the euphoria. It’s an enjoyable ride in the very least, and you don’t know how much time has passed by the time you feel another orgasm ready to breach the dam. You open your mouth to warn Yeosang of what’s about to happen, only for him to cut you short and press hot lips over you before you get the chance to speak.
He kisses you through the orgasm, and your mind might actually go completely blank in the heat of the moment. He must reach his own high at the same time because you can feel his cock cease the dragging thrusts. Warmth blossoms throughout your gut. You could practically squeal into his mouth, but you hold that back for now and decide to just bask in the sensation of being full of nothing but him. He’s all you can feel, all you can smell, all you can hear, and when you blink your eyes over after the orgasm passes, he is all that you can see. He seems to be having similar thoughts based on the softness in his gaze as he looks down at you with nothing but love and affection.
“You did so well, baby,” he murmurs, bringing up a hand to brush over the side of your face. You lean into the gentle touch without saying anything in response. Part of you is far too exhausted to say anything, and the other part is so overwhelmed by the love in his tone that you don’t know what to say. “Let me get the shower warmed up and ready, okay?”
“Okay,” you whisper back, barely able to manage anything more than that. Before Yeosang leaves you though, you peck him once more on the lips and smile up at him with a content expression.
“I love you too.”

the one-seater sofa you were nestled in was threadbare and faded, but its old charm was what made it the perfect finishing piece to your little nook.
it sat between two wooden shelves, the excellent fit making it look like it's been specially made to be placed in that very corner of the downtown bookshop. the seat dipped down significantly after hours and hours spent carrying weight as people momentarily escaped from their mundane days and glided through one fictional world into another where they could live some other life apart from the one they had in this modern 21st-century town.
it was probably fate telling you to savor life’s simpler pleasures, having found the bookshop in one of your low-profile tours of the kingdom—one of your responsibilities as a ruler in training. you’ve been coming here ever since to no one but your assistant’s knowledge.
in the three years that passed, you couldn't remember if you have seen the seemingly insignificant yet inviting piece of furniture you were sitting on ever look new or if there was anybody in your town who has used it as much as you have.
what you did know was that every time you came to get lost in reading, a new trinket prepared by the bookshop's only owner, allen, would always be waiting on top of it. a book with a marked page, illustrations that reminded him of you, or simple items that made you smile were always accompanied by a mug of dark cocoa placed on top of a nearby shelf with a neat coaster. and don't forget the little note signed with a tiny, almost reluctantly-drawn, heart.
tonight, it was a newly-bought knitted blanket the color of lush forests in autumn. you wrapped it around yourself the moment you sat down and you noticed that it smelled like old books and oat-scented candles. "because it's almost your favorite season," the note said.
“how's my best customer enjoying their favorite spot tonight?” allen's face appeared peeking through a small space between the books to your right. he smiled, eyes and all, seeing you cradled in the knitted blanket with a book propped up with your knees, his warm mug in your hand.
allen was doing his nightly rounds, making sure new book arrivals were well stacked and sorted before he called it a day and went home. seeing you still immersed in reading a few minutes before the shop's closing time was not a new sight to him. in fact, it was how he finished many of his more enjoyable workdays.
"you know, if you treat every customer like this, they might end up falling for you." you took a sip of the dark cocoa and raised an eyebrow at him, ignoring the question. "with hot cocoa like this every time they're here? i'm surprised people aren't lining up outside."
allen didn't stop smiling and raised an eyebrow back to tease you, "so that means you're enjoying it?" he asked, making his way around the shelves and towards your sofa, plopping himself down on one of its arms.
the answer to his question was apparent with the relaxed way you were sitting, but you answered him anyway. "yes, allen. as always. thank you." you looked up at him, smiling sincerely and noticing how his warm stare didn’t falter.
"i like this one." he tapped the spine of the book you were holding, the white palace, by tom lee. allen always liked discussing books you’ve both read, going over details you yourself would have missed. he looked at you, taking the softbound item in his hand. “princess…”
you kept yourself from choking on your drink. for the past three years, a set of unusual circumstances led to allen still being clueless that you, his bookshop’s most avid patron, were indeed a crowned princess.
did he finally hear about who you were? you really wanted to be the one to tell him and you were planning to do it soon, but he must’ve found the timing impeccable, seeing you read a novel about royalty then and there.
you braced yourself for the questions, gathering up remnants of an unfinished explanation that you wanted to save for later.
“….princess mary, was that her name? the main character?” you inwardly sighed in relief and nodded.  maybe not. but soon.“how are you liking it so far?”
"i think it's quite exaggerated, the way they described the king and queen's private life. you know, they have an ordinary side to them, too. more than you would think.” you replied.
"mmhmm." he nodded thoughtfully like he always does when you expressed your opinion, like he was doing his best to grasp your perspective. “fiction has that tendency. and what are the chances of the princess getting married to a commoner?”
you shrugged and patted the small space beside you on the one-seater. what are the chances of the princess getting married to a commoner? you turned the question over and over in your head.
"i already closed up the entrance, but we can stay for another hour again if you want? wouldn't be the first time," allen said, accepting your silent offer and laughing at how both of you fit snuggly on the sofa, his chest pressed against your shoulder and his arms draped behind you.
"how about just another five minutes? i actually have to go earlier today. work." you offered him a sip from the mug to which he obliged, putting his hands over yours as he sipped up the warm drink. "but this is just too comfortable to pass up." you finished.
after a few lovely minutes, you helped allen close the bookshop. both of you walked side by side, taking the small path to the main road. the space between you two was almost nonexistent as the cold fall evening made you seek for each other’s warmth, however slight.
you loved this, the comfortable silence he always gave you when you were about to part. he wasn’t too keen about asking you questions and was contented with listening only to what you wanted to share. he never asked, for instance, why you always refused to let him bring you home. instead, he told you almost a hundred times to be careful on the way.
"i'm glad you enjoyed your nook today.” he faced you and you smiled at his words, giving him an intuitive peck on the cheek to which he scrunched his nose in delight. i enjoyed it too much, you thought. sometimes, being there made you forget that you were in line to rule an entire kingdom. you wanted to say this but decided against it. next time. i promise. “be careful on the way back, okay?”
you nodded at him to go ahead. he never ever failed to look back at you at least thrice while walking away.
tonight, you counted four.
finally, he turned a corner and you sighed.
"your highness." a car stopped in front of you not even a minute after, its front windows rolling down to reveal your assistant. you remember specifically asking him not to open the car door for you when he drops you off and picks you up a block away from the bookshop, things he still remembers to do until now.
you opened the door and sat yourself down on the backseat. "thanks, serim."
upon getting in, you knew serim was ready to update you about any developments on your current dealings, the most pertinent one being the donor’s ball, the first-ever palace event your parents, the king and queen, were letting you host on your own.
“there are some catering concerns that need to be finalized and i was told the guestlist for the donor’s ball is ready for you, your highness. when would you want to view it?”
“tonight is fine. it would be great if it was brought to the drawing-room when we arrive.”
“i’ll have it arranged. and a slot needs filling. one of the donors said they were withdrawing the donations for the children’s home, your highness,” serim reported, an undertone of annoyance just barely showing through at the said withdrawal.
“is it kim’s pages inc.?” you leaned your head on the window of the car and saw serim nod. “that’s fine. we have two weeks. that should be enough to find a replacement. let’s have a message sent to similar companies in town.”
“right away, your highness.”
you made a mental list of your commitments for the rest of the week, knowing you’d have no free time to have another one of your nights at the bookshop with allen for a few days. but this was your reality and you weren’t complaining. you were bringing people the help they needed. telling allen would have to wait.
"oh, and serim?” you leaned forward to peak at his face through the rearview mirror.
"yes, your highness?”
“remember when i told you not to call me ‘your highness’?”
“yes….your highness.” he shifted in his seat, holding back a snort.
"you don't have to call me that when we're alone. we're practically siblings and it feels weird. just casually, okay? and take those sunglasses off, it’s evening.” you patted his shoulder playfully from the backseat, all the walls of professionalism crumbling down with your high-pitched laughter.
"alright, y/n." he laughed and cleared his throat, loosening up at your signal.
serim, the only person inside the palace you could freely confide in when you were growing up, became your assistant at your request. his family has worked for the palace for years and no one could do the job better than him. ”since we're acting like actual buddies now, how's that bookshop owner doing? you told him already?” he asked, pulling up to the front gates of your residence which opened automatically at the sight of your vehicle.
"i will. soon.”

your decision to not appear on television, or any platform for that matter, even while you were accomplishing work for public service was something your family never questioned. in fact, they supported it, knowing what scrutiny could do to a young woman still finding her character.
that said, allen not knowing that you were a member of the royal family was not a big surprise, as you were less of a household face than the rest of the monarchy. you deliberately avoided media and the public eye with the help of your dedicated staff, but this didn't mean you dodged your responsibilities. you were busy as can be, meeting partners in private meetings, arranging food and basic support for local shelters, and making sure the palace helpers were well-compensated.
allen’s bookshop was your breath of relief after a long day. in fact, the morning after spending hours at your small second home always made you feel like you were living a double life—from the worn-down sofa and aged bookshelves to the grand halls and luxurious decorative pieces of the palace.
“honey, i heard you were working until 2 am last night. you should really be getting rest. you know how busy we’ll all be on the day of the ball.” the queen greeted you with a frown as you approached the breakfast table set under a small gazebo in the middle of the palace garden. you sat down and were faced with a complete breakfast setup of the best eggs, toast, fruit, and all kinds of beverages, ready for you like they always were in the mornings.
“good morning, darling.” the king greeted you after taking a sip of coffee. he eyed your mother, urging her to greet you good morning before the rest of her concerned reminders. “have some breakfast. you’ll need it with the way you’re bustling nowadays.”
“yes, father. and don’t worry, mother, we just had some unexpected things to iron out,” you assured your parents. with you taking care of the event for the first time ever, you knew they just wanted things to go smoothly.
the donor's ball was hosted every fall. its main purpose was to gather potential partners that will support the charities under the royal family’s care. it did mean going out and being seen more than you would like, but it was the perfect opportunity to bring more to your constituents. you couldn't pass up the additional support for your advocacies.
but to add to that, your parents seemed to think the donor’s ball had another purpose.
“the kangs are on the guestlist. i heard they were bringing their heir, minhee,” your mother shared, trying to sound nonchalant, but you knew exactly what she was hinting at. “right?” she nudged your father who almost choked on his buttered roll.
“right. jungmo is coming too. remember him? your horseback riding partner?” your father asked.
“when i was 12? yes, father. i remember. and for the nth time…” you smiled at both of them patiently. “i’m marrying neither minhee nor jungmo.”
the king and queen merely looked at each other. their attempts to push you to meet potential grooms in the donor’s ball were now out of the picture.
“it’s alright, i got it, thank you.” you smiled at the palace helper and took the pot of tea from her hands, pouring your own cup.
“then who will it be, y/n? you know we always let you do what you think is best for you, but we only had one request: good in-laws.” the king asked, still sounding gentle as ever despite his hard exterior and the ever-so-pressing question.
“you get a choice, dear.” your mother smiled at you over the breakfast table. “you can find someone to marry yourself or you can entrust the task to me.”
“i’m on it.” you said almost inaudibly before taking a bite of your breakfast.
“come again?” your parents were all ears now. never hearing anything about the state of your heart was the norm for them, so you suddenly saying that you were ‘on it’ was quite the surprise.
you figured that if you were going to tell allen who you really were and how you really felt about him soon, your parents might as well know before they did anything funny, like set you up with kang minhee for example. minhee was great, but he was not allen.
“what if i want to marry the owner of that small bookstore?” you asked more confidently than before. they were silenced for a few seconds, again exchanging looks, but later on, they merely shrugged like they realized just who they were talking to. by now, they would have gotten used to how unpredictable their only child could be.
“then they had better pass their background checks. oh, and of course, we will have to interview them.” your mother explained. “—and don’t worry, i’ll tell your father not to scare them away.” she added after seeing that you were about to protest. to this, your father simply rolled his eyes, making the palace helpers giggle behind you. they always loved witnessing the rather casual exchanges you had with your parents.
“alright.” you smiled, grateful that you three reached an understanding. you were anxious, yes. how is he going to take this? but you were also visibly giddy. you had too many butterflies in your stomach to worry about anything else. the technicalities would have to be taken care of some other time. “you’re going to love him.”
your parents smiled at you purely, “we can’t wait to meet him.”
Tumblr media
“if you treat every customer like this, they might end up falling for you.” allen shook his head, chuckling by himself inside his humble studio apartment. he was cooking up a simple lunch when he remembered what you told him the day before. unconsciously, he caught himself hoping that it was a masked confession. allen knew it was a reach, trying to deduce how you felt just from those words, but seeing how close you two have become—the lingering gazes, warm hugs, and pecks on the cheek—he hoped he had a chance to have his feelings reciprocated openly. it’s probably time to clear out where both of you stood. it’s been 3 years after all.
the first time you ever stepped inside the bookshop, allen thought you were terribly overdressed. it was just at the break of spring and summer. you entered the shop alone and almost unnoticed, with allen’s back turned and you making the door chimes sound softer than they usually do. he actually only realized you were inside the shop when he saw you perusing the aisle containing contemporary mystery novels. with the beige sundress and huge sunglasses that you wore, one wouldn’t assume that you were from that town.
“hi, uhm, are you a tourist?” allen asked, ready to offer his help if you said yes. however, he was not looking directly at you but at the book you had in your hands. it was one of the novels in his shop he was not very fond of due to its unnecessary wordiness and lack of research.
“uhm, no. but i am new to this shop. they have a good selection, huh?” you paused and chuckled at the expression on allen’s face. “don’t worry, i’m not fond of his writing, either.”
“huh?” with a confused expression, he looked up at your face for the first time.
“i noticed you were squinting at it,” you said, raising the book up to eye level.
“ah, i’m sorry.” a bashful laugh sounded throughout the bookshop. allen looked like he could be your age but he carried himself like a young child meeting someone for the first time. “but you have to admit, his book covers feel very satisfying.”
“that’s the only reason why i was holding it. to feel it.” you laughed along with him and noticed that he was carrying a stack of at least 10 books. you removed your sunglasses to have a closer look at the titles. “you’re buying all of that?”
“no, no. i— uh, own the shop, actually. just reorganizing.” he said shyly, not used to introducing himself to a customer because everyone in the neighborhood who came to buy from him already knew this fact.
“oh! and here i was asking you about your own selections! lovely shop, by the way, sir…?”
“allen. just allen.” he held out his hand. when he asked for your name with complete curiosity and with no trace of recognition on his face, you knew that this was going to be a new and interesting place to be. from then on, his bookshop was the only place outside the palace to witness your unquenchable thirst for reading.
with every visit, your relationship with allen bloomed from awkward exchanges of greetings and smiles to a routine of long-winded discussions—ranging from the sweet and the natural to the borderline debate-like—a welcome sign that you have grown comfortable in each other’s presence. aside from the fact that he still did not know a single thing about your family background, both of you could say that you’ve come to know each other well, even up to the smallest habits and preferences.
allen could not remember when he realized that he always missed you terribly on the days you wouldn’t come. he did not know when he started to want to hold you while you had your nose up in a book. he also couldn’t tell at what point in time in the past three years his heart started beating faster at every soft tinkling sound of the door chime, always wishing it was you who entered when he turned and looked.
although he was not sure exactly when he fell for you, he’s more than certain that he wanted to be able to spend time with you and maybe have a future with you outside of the confines of his store.
“if you treat every customer like this, they might end up falling for you.” the next time you came, he was going to tell you that he’s never done special gestures like that for any other customer. his heart simply becomes happy making you smile and he’ll be glad to continue doing so for as long as you let him.
allen smiled by himself again, thinking about the mug of hot cocoa and heartfelt confession he was going to give you when you come back.
Tumblr media
it’s been a few days since you last got the chance to take a break from your endless meetings. the two weeks leading up to the ball clouded your mind with nothing but work, work, and work. the one free night you had before the ball was tomorrow and you would usually be feeling excited at the thought of seeing allen and being cradled by pages of fiction in your spot between the shelves. but with the case at hand, all you could do was worry. the excitement upon telling your parents about him was now replaced with a rabbit hole of concern.
“i can hear your heart racing through the phone lines, y/n…” your best friend said through the phone call. staying in your room cooped up with your thoughts just wasn’t going to do it. you needed someone who was not on edge to put you in the right mindset for tomorrow and no one could do it better than your childhood best friend, who just so happened to be the young prince of a neighboring kingdom.
“i know, hyeongjun. be the prince that you are and give me your thoughts, please.” you leaned your back on one of the pillars of your balcony, staring out at the wide expanse of your town and the few flickering lights in the distance. you wondered if allen was closing up his shop right this very moment.
“before that… tell me. why do you like this allen?” hyeongjun asked. as you knew he wasn’t one to judge based on status or occupation, you obliged.
“well…” you started to fill him in right from the very beginning. your eyes were still looking out at the town, but your mind was replaying your typical visits to the shop like a movie reel.
you told hyeongjun about how your heart would do somersaults seeing allen sitting on the front desk, looking dashing even in just a simple sweater; about how his eyes would light up when he turned and saw you enter the shop; how he would look down and have a tint of red on his cheeks, catching himself in the middle of a rant when you listened to his stories with a loving gaze and undivided attention.
you smiled dreamily as you continued to narrate how you found the very first note allen left for you. it was placed on top of a stack of aged books at the shelf you frequented. the note said: “y/n. because i noticed you seemed to love horror fiction. these are some of my favorites. tell me what you think about them? :)” you looked over at the front desk, meeting his eyes which were already looking in your direction. you gave him a thumbs up, earning an excited smile from him.
before you left the bookshop that day, you noticed a bunch of crumpled post-it notes inside the bin beside the front door, some of them with longer messages, some with scribbled out hearts and more smiley faces. you chuckled, imagining how flustered he must’ve been while deciding what to write before finally settling for the simpler message instead.
you jumpily described your surprise at how, several months after you first met, allen dared to hold your hand and pull you between the wooden shelves to show you the seat he set up just for you; how he would smile when you told him his shop brought you comfort; how the hours spent with him are the longest you could go without being served or addressed as a noble, but as a beloved friend and maybe even more.
“and his mind… he knows more things than i could possibly know. he’s smart. but he still listens to me like everything i say is brand new to him. he’s no prince, but he’s left me more to think about than any other prince i’ve met. no offense, hyeongjun. you know i love you.”
“none taken.” hyeongjun breathed out, taking in everything you said. “just now, it sounded like you were reading me a fairytale. y/n, i know you’re already a real princess, but you saying such things makes me think you’re a princess out of actual fantasy.”
“hyeongjun…” you whined, not understanding where he was going with this.
“okay, look. i don’t think it was for the fear of him treating you differently that you still have not told him about your background,” he rationalized. hyeongjun has always been a bubbly friend, but you could rely on him to be wise and objective when you needed it the most. “it was the comfort that he brought you after a long day. maybe it was the way he treated you like an equal that kept you contented with what he knows about you at this point in time.”
you stayed silent and felt the waves of worry ebbing away because of how accurately he described your situation.
“my point is, y/n, if he was everything you described him to be, he would understand why you took this long to tell him. don’t get ahead of yourself, okay?” hyeongjun asked. “but if he reacts negatively, i can always send some of my personal guards to talk it out with him and—“
“hyeongjun!”
“i’m kidding! i just wanted to make you laugh,” he said giggling. you shook your head and laughed along with him, feeling yourself gaining more will to face the next day. the sigh you had now was one of partial relief
“thank you… i mean it.” you told him. “see you at the ball?”
“it’s your first donor’s ball. i wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

i said i was gonna do it, so here i am! i am writing this on the fly, making it up as i go along so who knows how long it will be! who knows.
i have finally played every route in fe3h, including the dlc- currently im making my way through the new game+ and screaming because this is my life now apparently. this isn’t really a deep and meaningful essay just... my experience playing the game and all the routes.
( pls note i played on casual and normal for my original playthrough because i am a wimp. for ng+ im still playing casual but this time im playing on hard. )
this is the order in which i played the routes + dlc: verdant wind, azure moon, cindered shadows, silver snow and crimson flower.
right! so!! let’s start!
White Clouds: the first twelve chapters are obviously pretty same-y, which is fine, except when you’re playing 4 times in a row. i liked the fact that the goddess tower was unique for every route and character you were trying to get s support with. there were some unique aspects to the different house, ie. judith, arundel, rodrigue, finding out about dimitri and edelgard. but other than that i did get pretty bored when it came around to doing it... again. and idk just, like i said the reveals obviously weren’t as shocking the 4 time around but like, they were still enjoyable, which is good at least!
Verdant Wind: this route is... eh. it’s the first one i did because dear god i am in love with claude. the route in and of itself is probably one of the weakest ngl. there were things that didn’t make sense in the context of the route and unlike azure moon and crimson flower it didn’t feel unique (given that this route and silver snow are.... IDENTICAL. except the final bosses) the final boss was dope and i am obsessed with God Shattering Star, but other than that? meh. i liked it at first because it was my first one and yknow, claude. but now it’s just idk, it’s lacking. and i’m gonna be honest: i don’t like most of the class. i like claude, hilda, marianne and lysithea. that is it. the others are just overbearing or kinda boring. lorenz i just, i can’t get over his design, i know he’s a deep character but i dislike most of his c supports, i hate his hair and the way he talks. ignatz and raphael are forgettable. i know they’re also very deep characters but their surface levels make me not want to go into their characters. and just. fuck leonie, i’m sorry i just cannot handle her. she’s overbearing, annoying, thinks that because jeralt trained her she’s better than everyone??? GOD. her supports with hilda are cute, and i like her post-timeskip design but otherwise she’s one of my least favourite characters in the game. im sorry. (edit: okay im revising this because it was late at night and perhaps i was a bit harsh. i dont actually mind the characters i mentioned that much, in fact they can be quite funny, however, i still prefer characters from the other houses more.) so my verdict of this route is that i did enjoy it, i liked the cutscenes and the timeskip designs but it’s still only my second favourite. 8/10.
Azure Moon: look. i’m just saying, this route? is the best. hands down, it’s absolutely amazing. it has it’s flaws, and it’s very different from the other routes and is also very much the most fire emblem like route but that’s okay. this route is devastating, heartbreaking, really fucking sad. and that just draws me in. when i first did the route i was gonna marry mercedes because i am gay and love her but the character of dimitri is just so incredibly well done- before and after the timeskip. i like the fact that there’s essence behind his character, meaning. i actually found this route to be kinda hard in places (cornelia for example and also edelgard) and it’s also very unique. i like the way the two factions of faerghus and adrestia interact, and also the way the alliance is just dragged into it. ( claude doesn’t die which is good!!!!) in the other routes you only really see dimitri as this crazed character but in azure moon you find out WHY and yes, that is good. the characters are all very unique and i like them all they all have their own stories and characteristics that make them as unique at the route. the cutscenes and stills are, beautifully done and truly heartbreaking. and just. AH. i adore this route more than i have any right to, on the whole it’s my favourite. 10/10.
Cindered Shadows: this isn’t really a route, but that’s okay, im sure you guys don’t mind. i love the ashen wolves, they’re amazing. the story is... weak. because it doesn’t fit into the actual plot at all and that annoys me. aelfric is a character i dislike immensely but maybe that was the point? i find the explanations in the route to be its downfall, because it clashes with what we already know in the game. sitri is pretty and im glad we get a tiny bit more byleth and sitri backstory but otherwise the characters and abyss are it’s saving grace. 6/10.
Silver Snow: im gonna go ahead and say it: fuck this route. it’s verdant wind but with seteth instead of claude. it’s verdant wind but bad and boring. it’s dull and unnecessary. i had really high hopes for this route because it’s the church! i dont like the church but a route with them could be very interesting! it was not! it lacked personality, it lacked uniqueness. i don’t particularly like most of the characters and basically just used the students and fuuuuuck the final boss. the only reason i did this route was because i wanted to romance yuri but also edelgard.  2/10 would not play again.
Crimson Flower: ... ... ... WHERE ARE THE CUTSCENES!!!! where is the reunion scene between byleth and edelgard, why is it all stills!!!!!! WHY IS IT SHORTER THAN THE OTHERS!!!! WHY. the story in this route is actually very interesting, and well thought out. but the aforementioned points are what make me want to ram my head into a wall. idk why they thought to give silver snow cutscenes and not this route but it was stupid. i do like the way the portrayed the church and rhea though. as the villains they technically are. i like the characters a lot, they’re all great, and i love the angst!!! the way you get to choose if you want to spare or kill your children whom you love. ( i spared claude and lysithea because i am weak. ) but its just. the vibe of the route is ruined by the lack of cutscenes and thats dumb ik but it is what it is. and also it did NOT need to be shorter, there was no reason for it to be as short as it was. 5/10.
so in order we have:
Azure Moon
Verdant Wind
Cindered Shadows
Crimson Flower
Silver Snow
i enjoyed the game a lot, the writing was beautiful and the characterization was also really good. but some of the characters and routes were just. weak. very very weak.
idk what else to say so imma leave it here i guess!! pls feel free to debate with me, i’d like that a lot.

al-anon is the only social activity i have at the moment, aside from work & a volunteer project but theyre not all that “social” compared to al-anon. i listen to them talk & it makes me realize how much of a wet mop I am. i dont do shit except lay in bed all day. no fucking hobbies, no interests, cant do anything that holds my attention for more than a few seconds before ive lost interest & ready to quit. id much rather be in beeeeeedddddd like holy fuck who am i though?? im so withdrawn i dont even remember who i am and its been a legit thing lately. i cant do anything without wanting to run back home & get in bed. god it sucks so fucking much. i feel like such a blank slate. I feel like this is because of how i was raised, because my mother squashed all my hobbies anyfuckingway so why even bother. and when i say squashed, i mean she fucking killed them dead murdered in cold fucking blood. she took every bit of individuality I had and crushed it with her evil fucking rat claws. i liked anime and cartoons, she forbade them. i liked to read harry potter, she called it devil worship and then burned my books. i liked video games, she smashed my gamecube with a hammer and burned my gameboy & all my games. burned my yugioh cards. insulted my taste in music by calling it devils music bc she couldnt understand the lyrics. i couldnt wear the things i liked, i couldnt even TALK WITHOUT HER RIDICULING MY FUCKING ACCENT. HOW FUCKING CONTROLLING DO YOU HAVE TO BE. she fucking squashed ANY AND EVERY BIT OF INDIVIDUALITY I FUCKING HAD. IS IT ANY WONDER IM A WET FUCKING MOP?!?! they all talk about activities like apple picking and shit and im just like… cant relate. thats too scary for me i cant handle it. i wouldnt enjoy it & probably couldnt wait for it to end so I could go home. in fact why even bother, just save the trouble and stay home. i literally have no interest if no one else is there. why do anything alone. god who am I?? have i always been like this?? i dont think i have. at one point i had lots of hobbies. i liked to read. and draw. i really loved to draw. i liked to do jigsaw puzzles. and music. but then i liked to do schoolwork. and i liked school. and i liked all these things because they were distractions from an alcoholic abusive mother. sometimes i feel like thats the only reason i ever did those things, and did so well in school, because my motivation was to escape home & i found solace in these things. now that i dont have such an evil presence looming over me 24/7, i have no need to “escape” (lets not mention the 4 years of literal daydreaming, no no thats a different kind of escape) and it takes a lot of effort to do these things for enjoyment rather than escapism. i have nothing to escape here.
something for me to research i think. how to trick yourself to enjoy healthy coping mechanisms lmao. honestly this is one of the reasons i think i need to be medicated. depression, but i cant not mention the impending doom known as abandonment fears haha bitch you thought! i dont want to meet new people and get attached! not now not ever again! so i say. i know this is a hinderance to the progress im seeking, but honestly it just makes me mad. i hate this. i hate that im so fucking broken. i literally dont know what to do when it comes to this shit. i dont know how to properly express myself face to face without panicking. its like that option doesnt even exist! IT NEVER HAS. Ive never been able to do that without getting beat or told i was being disrespectful. its better to shut the fuck up than to speak up because when i speak she fucking hits me. i grew up with that!! and now i dont know how to speak up to strangers who arent my mom and probably wont beat me for speaking my mind, but I dont know that lol my body certainly doesnt. i dont know how to feel comfortable with strangers without feeling ridiculed or shamed its just how im fucking programmed. i literally do not. know. how. to. do. this. please fucking help me. then why i TRY to communicate it comes out angry, agressive, and triggering bc i literally have NEVER had success with this on a 1-to-1 setting. it has ALWAYS ended with me getting squashed or me doing the squashing. jesus fucking christ what the fuuuuck this shit is so fucking frustrating and definitely one of those things i wish i could just *poof* make it better. writing this out makes me realize, its one of those things im gonna have to work really hard to improve. this sucks. this sucks so much.
gonna mention this next session, god i wish i didnt have realizations directly AFTER therapy bc now i gotta wait 2 whole weeks to see what he thinks & im probably gonna find some info on it before then bc thats what i do. there’s a book i saw floating around here on body triggers, im thinking of getting it. also im kinda disappointed, i thought he was gonna teach me things today but it was just like a normal session where i talked the entire time and he barely said much at all. when are you gonna teach me things pls im running on empty fumes here ;-;
adding in post: so in the tags I talk about nurturing my relationship with god and I mentioned that I don’t like saying “you’re suffering for a reason” because thats an awful thing to say to someone who has been abused and epsecially when the abuse is still fresh, its like youre fucking justifying the pain and suffering inflicted on you and that shit is fucking triggering as fuck. but then i forgot tumblr algorithms push quotated tags to the front of the list so when I posted this and had “you’re suffering for a reason” in quotation marks, it was the first tag to show up.
I see you bitch.

Top 10 PS4 Exclusives
Sony’s PlayStation 4 has been a consistently impressive console since it broke into the market in 2013 and has been producing hit after hit ever since. Though arguably the best of this powerful and versatile console has been the exclusives Sony themselves have developed, so today’s post will be counting down the top ten exclusives to make their way onto the PS4. If you’re more of a Nintendo person, be sure to check out my top 10 Switch exclusives for a look at the best Ninty console since the 64.
Note: This list includes ports and remasters because some of them definitely need a mention here
Tumblr media
10. Astro Bot Rescue Mission
Tumblr media
Easily the best game in Sony’s VR library, Astro Bot is a wonderfully creative platformer with a variety of unique gadgets, bosses and locations to play through. Astro Bot breaks the boundaries found in most VR games, which often suffer from being disappointingly short or graphically eye-hurty in VR, and creates a genuinely enjoyable experience built upon the cute little robots that apparently live in your controller. More of this pls.
9. Detroit: Become Human
Tumblr media
Very probably the edgiest game you’ll ever play, this in no way means that Detroit doesn’t deserve your attention. Detroit is a decision-based game set from the perspectives of three androids from entirely different backgrounds. As is customary in these kinds of games, your decisions affect the fates of the characters and the resolution of the story as a whole and you’ll find yourself completely taken with the perils of the characters you play as and the Blade Runner-esque world they inhabit. One to pick up if you like feeling things.
8. Shadow of the Colossus
Tumblr media
A remaster of a legendary PS2 game, Colossus is a game everyone needs to play at least once. This game breaks most of the traditions in modern RPGs, with no cities, dungeons, characters or even enemies other than the 16 gigantic ‘colossi’ you must defeat. Colossus holds up today as a very emotional and almost haunting game that requires you to think outside of the usual realms of hacking things to pieces, instead encouraging logic to discover each monster’s weak points. This worthy remaster is an experience you won’t soon forget.
7. Until Dawn
Tumblr media
While some may question Until Dawn’s place on this list, I genuinely believe this game is an essential for all PS4 owners. Taking control of eight teenagers ripped straight out of a horror movie dripping with tropes, you must survive a night of horror as the group navigates a deadly mountain that for some reason they decided to go back to after their friends died there. Rest assured, there are plenty of scares to be had and plenty of stupid decisions to make that you will definitely regret. If this is a game you know nothing about, I challenge you to get them all out alive. Because you probably won’t.
6. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Tumblr media
Uncharted 4 marks the final chapter of the ever brilliant Nathan Drake, and this time, he’s dragging you along on the best adventure he’s ever had. After reuniting with his long lost brother, they go on a hunt for a pirate’s lost treasure. And every moment is filled with stunning visuals, slick gameplay and a group of heartfelt characters that I defy you not to get attached to. If none of that draws you in, then surely the Crash Bandicoot section at the start will justify this game’s place on the list.
5. The Last of Us: Remastered
Tumblr media
Despite only releasing in 2013, The Last of Us seems to have already ascended to cult status and is yet another game everybody needs to play through once. The game is stunning to look at, terrifying to play and satisfying in every way, not to mention the polished crafting system that will make you do a little fist pump when you find a crowbar on the floor or some tape. But of course, the highlights of The Last of Us are the characters at its core, the growing father-daughter relationship between Joel and Ellie taking centre stage. This is a game packed full of emotion and terror in equal measure and should be on every PS4 owner’s trophy list.
4. Persona 5
Tumblr media
This one will very likely be ported over to the Switch at some point soon, so I’m putting this one in the list while I can. If you’ve never played a Persona game, that doesn’t matter. My advice to you on this one is just dive in and embrace how weird this 100 hour-ish wonderful RPG is. You play as a typical anime protagonist who is transferred out to another school and forms a group of thieves who steal people’s desires. Sounds edgy, right? But honestly, it’s amazing and there’s nothing else I can tell you without giving stuff away so go play (I’m literally only up to the end of the 1st palace and I love it)
3. Marvel’s Spider-Man
Tumblr media
Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man released only a few months ago, but it’s already being hailed as one of the best superhero games of all time. The studio behind Ratchet and Clank basically nailed everything about this game; the swinging mechanics, the combat, the character designs, plot and dialogue is all intrinsically Spider-Man. This is well-deserved to be placed among the best games of last year and very much worth your time if you’re a Marvel fan (especially with the tons of Marvel references and easter eggs) or to be honest, even if you’re not, it’s fun. Like really fun.
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
Tumblr media
To put it simply, Horizon Zero Dawn was Sony’s answer to Breath of the Wild. While the two follow completely different paths as RPGs, the concept of exploring a dizzyingly massive world is the same. The difference here is you’ve got cool robots to fight! Seriously though, Horizon is one of the best open world experiences you can get your hands on today. This game takes the usual archetype of post-apocalyptic games being grey and colourless in their landscapes and turns that around completely, providing players with a rich, bright and colourful world filled with creatures and weird plants and did I mention the cool robots? To summarise this, following Aloy on her quest to discover her roots is one you won’t soon forget.
Here’s some also pretty good games that didn’t quite make the list:
Bloodborne
Kingdom Hearts HD Remixes
Little Big Planet 3
InFAMOUS: Second Son
Driveclub
1. God of War
Tumblr media
Here it is, the game that took an already hugely successful franchise and booted it straight up into the atmosphere. Grabbing game of the year 2018 over heavy hitters like Red Dead 2 and Spider-Man, the God of War reboot was a game that captured the hearts of people everywhere, whether fans of the series or otherwise. In this entry, we see Kratos in an entirely different light as you take on the monstrous titans the series is famed for. This time, the game’s central focus is the relationship between Kratos and his son Atreus and how they grow and develop throughout their journey to scatter Atreus’ mother’s ashes. This entry took everything people loved about the GoW series and redid it all from the ground up, providing fans with an unforgettable masterpiece.
What’s your favourite exclusive? What upcoming game are you most hyped about? Do you like Kratos’ beard? Let me know down below if u wanna. Thanks for reading!

goseiger for the top 3 thing?
as a note, im only like twenty-something episodes into goseiger and will remain that way until someone ( @iwatchtoomuchtoku ) finds the time to continue it with me
top 3 favorite characters
Hyde bc for some reason i like ‘sharkboy except as an adult who probs not only has a coupon binder but also organizes his coupons by expiration date and type’, Moune bc im gay, and Alata bc im specifically gay for dragons
top 3 least favorite characters
i??? dont think i have any, actually? not enough for me to think about off the top of my head. even the villains are fairly enjoyable in their own right, enough that i dont actually dislike watching them.
top 3 otps
Hyde x Past Teammate Guy That Died (Magis? i think?). Alata and Eri have some cute potential, i remember that ep with him having her do the training stuff she taught him as kids was super adorable. i dont actually ship much in this show, im realizing. i guess my last one would be…. Hyde and Agri seems fairly popular and also p cute, i could get behind that.
top 3 notps
i mean. hand-in-hand with not really shipping anyone is not really not-shipping anyone either. i mean besides the obvious (pls tell me theres no moune and agri ppl out there, theyre siblings, yo).
top 3 brotps
Moune and Hyde are wlw/mlm solidarity and you cant change my mind. Moune and Eri are both different flavors of reckless, and its great. Alata is literally Everyone’s best friend, so can i say i brotp him with Everyone? if i gotta be specific, him with the kid is real cute.
top 3 favorite episodes/chapters/scenes/games in series
So far? the very first thing that comes to mind is when theyre all trying to communicate with their elements and alata and eri are flying, and moune and agri are just kneeling on the ground, and then theres hyde. floating, fully dressed, in the middle of the ocean. Fully Dressed. i think its part of why he became my favorite bc hyde. buddy. what are you Doing.
other than that… i liked hyde and moune working together to get outta that weird box/other dimension thing (i dont remember what episode this was). oh and when hyde and agri went shopping and hyde dragged them to all the stores to find the best deals, and then had them go back around again to actually buy all the stuff.
…all of these moments include hyde. dammit. okay lets see, a couple without hyde… alata drawing his own card bc his powers werent working was so so good. moune and eri working together whilst the boys were literal furniture was Also a gift sent to me, specifically.
top 3 other things u think ppl who like this thing should watch/read/play
i mean??? other super sentai stuff probably? idk ive seen like 2 super sentai and i dont know anything about it. i think literally everyone should go watch Leverage, and its got team-found-family dynamics and hijinks so if you like that kinda thing… thats all i can think of right now XP
my rating of this media out of 3, with 0 being lowest and 3 being highest
3 so far. its cute, and i like the team, and Hyde is my sharkman!
send me a show or anything really

Premier League Fixtures | Sky Sports
Epl schedule tomorrow - EPL Fixtures This Weekend |
If you have the Premier League then your app should be pristine video quality. They have eye money and the resources. NBC Sports gets a little lazy with the video quality because they know that no other tv network in the United States has any plans to buy the rights to click at this page the PL anytime in the near future. Can somebody please teach the idiots at NBC about what full match stats are. This happens quite often.
She never persists and changes the subject or cuts to a commercial epl schedule tomorrow. How lucky are you guys!!! Due to the virus, soccer watchers are at the mercy of network TV. Fun at first but boring.
A second sighting could be most instructive. Also, when the League starts epl schedule tomorrow, why not run the words the fans sing across the bottom of the screen. Is that a good idea. Rex Hearn, 89, Manchester City supporter since 7. Surely after all these years some enterprising fan has collected them in book form to which epl schedule tomorrow may refer. We understand! Rex Hearn. Love that we have epl schedule tomorrow start of a fixture list.
Just wondering about your source? Hi Ian, epl schedule tomorrow clubs and NBC Sports as well as other media outlets wait until tomorros is officially announced before publishing the schedules. Thanks again. It says that it is on Telemundo in the official Premier League app and I am just wanting to make sure that it is true. Sometimes the official Premier League app has informative post wrong listings. Yes, the Peacock games on Sunday will be on Gold as shedule.
Brighton-Newcastle will be on Peacock and Gold also. Replays for tojorrow matches will be available after 9 pm ET. I tried the Gold this year, but never had enough discipline to not look up the scores until 9 pm. I will not sign up for package next season. In total, Peacock Premium will present more than 1, hours of Premier League live match schedul epl schedule tomorrow programming — the most robust offering epl schedule tomorrow available in the U.
Included are full-event replays for all matches on-demand after 9 p. Here in the U. IT makes it very easy to track your wagers, post the odds, track different sportsbooks to select the best odds. Do you know if there is anything like that published in the U. I would love to subscribe to it as it would make wagering on the games less time consuming and more enjoyable.
I would imagine if there is they also might publish for the German, and other Premier level leagues. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Sky Sports picks the games for their television broadcasts, which sometimes require approval from police scheduoe games that are derbies or matches that are considered to be more dangerous requiring additional police protection for fans. The process takes time. I blame all three of them because they have cheated a huge number of Premier soccer fans from a great deal of pleasure.
A pox on all three of these selfish organizations! They took it away, now you have to pay to get it? I think you call epl schedule tomorrow extortion!? At least this Saturday and Sunday I actually will get 3 each day; unless that changes between now epl schedule tomorrow then!!! Can epl schedule tomorrow find a phone number to call Peacock for live help? I mentioned before to very wary of giving them sdhedule credit card information.
EPL Fixtures This Weekend
Rip off artists. So apparently, if epl schedule tomorrow want to watch the reigning EPL champs, you need Peacock at the moment. Maybe in November I can watch Liverpool. Epl schedule tomorrow noticed that!!! A real shame. Like I tell everyone, it was fun while it lasted! Looks like Christopher Harris was right. NBC is screwing over its cable subs a bit more this year. Chris: thanks for the link.
I caution people again to be wary of this vendor. Do you want the shock epl schedule tomorrow being wrongly charged? The hassle of dealing with an organization that hides its phone number?
Whose chat line appears inoperative? Other contact info made difficult to obtain? Even the investigator writing up the case noted difficulty reaching them. Do you have the time and disposition to deal with such problems for such a poor service? Will report outcome. Obviously it looks e;l an error occurred with otmorrow experience. Many companies make it difficult epl schedule tomorrow find their phone number.
I already pay for Peacock Premium but, unlike every other non-HBO service, it is difficult to watch Peacock outside of the home. My friend has an old Roku and a Amazon fire stick, so the app is unavailable. And she is a Comcast customer. But if you are paying for it then it should be available wherever you want to watch it.
But NBC is making it very difficult for me to share my love tomorroww the game with others. A quick update on my Peacock tribulation. Good news. Thanks to Chris H.
The sign up process was clunky, user unfriendly, and I had no confirmation that it epl schedule tomorrow thru. So I tried again but this time more cautiously opting for visit monthly, as my confidence in Peacock ebbed.
Premier League TV schedule and streaming links
Bingo… access to the Prem! I received the monthly charge, but later also got charged for the whole year for the failed sign up. My error was that, in my initial frustration to get activated, I must schesule entered my email incorrectly. So they were also charging me for that service, feeding to nobody or someone lucky! It was epl schedule tomorrow result of a harried fan being careless out of frustration, but why not install a system that would require email validation?
Looks like Peacock Premium subscribers have been screwed over?? How greedy is that? Just using it to force in new Peacock viewers!! I hope they lose the next Premier League contract. I only say this because there are many epl schedule tomorrow cutters that hope this same thing happens — but only so they can actually watch a top level match like this one via schedle stream only service like Peacock. Not as long as providers know that their traditional cable networks still draw a significant revenue stream, yet also can do so via their separate stream-only service.
EPL is most watched euro soccer league in the US and any provider will do what they can to maximize their revenue possibilities. If you epl schedule tomorrow a later model of the Roku devices with their latest software you can screen mirror to epl schedule tomorrow Roku. You then control the start and end of the game from your iPad but the video and sound comes from your TV.
I Have just bought a gen6 IPad and maybe this will do better. tomrorow pay for Peacock Premium on my old pad, how do I get to install epl schedule tomorrow on my new one without having to pay twice? Rebecca You should definitely be able to see an option to just login to Peacock app with your current profile do not sign up again epl schedule tomorrow the new iPad so helpful site to not be epl schedule tomorrow. Rebecca since Peacock allows multiple streams at the epl schedule tomorrow time your old iPad installation will not epl schedule tomorrow you from installing the app epl schedule tomorrow the Apple App store and than being charged again.
Just install the app and provide login credentials like email address and password. As far as your freezing problem is concerned it could be that your WiFi connection to the iPad is not very good. Make sure that your WiFi connection is excellent 5 bars. Other users did complain that Peacock does buffer the stream too many times to their liking.
So distinguish between buffering and freezing, epl schedule tomorrow will show a twirling circle. I always have to make sure not to connect to my Scyedule 5GHz epl schedule tomorrow as somehow that one is not as good as my 2. If I pay for the product I should be able to access the epl schedule tomorrow whenever I want to, how I want to and at a time that best suits me.
LTx In other topics here it was hotly debated what you mentioned. Several factors contributed to the lack of features in the Peacock App. There was no clear strategy how to present to the tomodrow the games as is evident by the dividing the matches between NBC, NBCSN and Peacock and than again a change in strategy by dropping games from the On-Demand Peacock streaming.
It all reeks a bit of an amateurish approach. Liverpool v. Now I am paying for less??? Makes you dizzy trying to figure it out each week. There is an error on the scheduling. On Sunday the 7th you show Wolverhampton v. Leeds and on Monday the 8th you show Leeds v. Crystal Epl schedule tomorrow. As s Leicester City fan I was miffed there was no game scheduled so went to their site and see they are epl schedule tomorrow to play Sunday v.
Otherwise keep up the good work! Man City game on Peacock will have spanish comm by the Telemundo crew epl schedule tomorrow for the first time. Life, for me, is more complicated with Peacock streaming more of the big games. Do the brave thing everyone and cancel Peacock! Then they will blog epl schedule tomorrow implement a scheeule model.

sorry for the slow responses!
it’s been a rough few weeks for me and I’ve been getting lazy at answering asks so they started piling up a.lkgjalkgj Responses are under the cut to save you guys the walls of text!
Anonymous said: Okay but instead of an arm or an eye, Lance loses a leg? And Shiro gets a flashback to when he injured Matt's leg at the arena but this time, instead of a really bad injury, a whole leg is gone; and now Shiro's instantly at Lance's side and then Lance passes out from the blood loss and Shiro accidentally calls Lance "Matt". Like he would probably be all, "Matt! Stay with me! MATT!!!"
suddenly this AU has a hint of Shatt I LIKE IT-- but omg pls save lance his limbs i beg of u
grelhou said: hi, i know you might get this a lot, but your art is exquisite!!! i mean, do you know that one post that says "PICASSO WHO!!! EAT UR HEART OUT MICHAELANGELO !!!" and similar things representing your reactions everytime your mutuals draw anything? that's actually me everytime i see literally everything you draw!!! it's just so AMAZING, i can't even describe it in words! sorry for my english, but i needed to let you know this! have a nice day :D
Ehhh ahhh thank you so much ;alkjg;adlgj Honestly i’ve never heard of such a post but thanks o)-< And your english is perfect no worries!
Anonymous said: Personally - with regards to who bottoms in Klance - I've seen it go 50/50 in fanfiction so I never quite understand whenever I see people complain about never seeing one or the other because there's plenty if you know how to look for it. Then again I also read an ungodly amount of fanfic...
I think in terms of fanfics yeah i see it go 50/50 but in comparison i only read like a handful of fics because i read real slow so... i wouldn’t know 😂  I don’t think i see a lot of Lance/Keith artwork though, but then again i never really go out of my way to look for it.
Anonymous said: I know that you like bottom!Lance but what are your feelings on Bottom!Keith? Like can you read fanfiction with Bottom!Keith or you really not like it that much? I myself like both but I was curious about your opinion.
I’ve read lots of fanfics with bottom Keith! Tbh i don’t think i came across a rendition of keith bottoming that i didn’t like but sometimes i get wary of either of them getting too ooc or something... But in terms of who bottoms and tops in a relationship standpoint i like both! I like to imagine them do stupid things to determine who goes first like make bets and shit.
Anonymous said: Lance is blue, blue in the near time is ao no exorcist kyoto arc. So do you watch or read AnE? if yes, who's your fav character (s)?
YES i used to love LOVE ao no ex around the time when the first series came out. I read the manga up to a point before i lost my place but i’m really looking forward to seeing the kyoto arc animated o)-< My favorites are Rin and Shima! I loved Shima before [spoiler] but after [spoiler] i’m just o<-< I guess i really do love the asshole types.
Anonymous said: Have you heard of the Voltron Big Bang? I'm just curious whether you're interested in joining because I love seeing your art!
Oh yes i have! i think someone linked to me before but... unfortunately i have personal project i want to work on so i won’t have time for it.
Anonymous said: *screaming to the galazy and beyond* second seasoooon!!! (I definitely did not pause and thinks a lot of time why there're two shirtless people in the trailer)
s2 is already out and oh boy i have some thoughts
yuujinjou said: Omg everyone looks so great in hanbok ₍₍ (̨̡ ‾᷄♡‾᷅ )̧̢ ₎₎✨✨✨✨. Happy New Year to you too
THANK YOU!!
Anonymous said: OMG I LOVE YOU SOO MUCH!!! YOUR HANBOK VOLTRON MAKES THIS KOREAN CHILD HAPPY!!! 사랑해요~
AHHHH YOU’RE WELCOME!! I’m happy to make a fellow korean happy with my hanbok art///////
Anonymous said: HI! I'm the anon asking about Shay and Nyma. Anyways, about Shay, I can possibly see her in the medical team as well! And about Nyma and Roco, pilots would be a nice fit for them! Would they be working along Voltron if that's the case? Like flying the team to their destinations?
Hey there again!! Shay in the medic team or search and rescue would be best i think :) but in that case she probably wouldn’t be working that closely with team Voltron. Nyma and Rolo tho yes! They would be in charge of transporting teams to their mission locations-- if it calls for it.
Anonymous said: Hi! I would like to say that ur art is super gorgeous. I found ur blog b/c of Voltron (*fangirls*) and I love all of ur art and style and I could go on but I am not trying to take up ur time. Um, I have two questions: I am a person who loves drawing but I am not talented. I am very u taleneted and I feel so discouraged b/c why on Earth am I drawing if I am sucky at it... help? 1/2 - 2/2 The other thing(plz don't kill me)... I don't romantically ship anyone in Voltron(yet) and I feel like all shippers and fans would have my head if I feel like that and it makes me almost afraid of the Voltron fandom(but I love this show>_<) so... help? Ik my questions are dumb; I am sorry. Happier note: THANKS FOR SHARING UR AMAZINF SKILLS WITH THE WORLD!╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
Hi anon!! Thank you so much T T To be frank, i think your desire to draw should be fueled by how much enjoyment you get out of drawing. And if you feel that you need to improve, then always keep practicing! I don’t think it’s possible to get worse just by practicing, so there’s only one direction you can go.  LOL hey to each their own. I think first and foremost people should enjoy Voltron for its story and characters, because that’s all that really matters. Shipping and fandom stuff can come later. I don’t know why anyone would hate you for not shipping anyone? I doubt anyone cares. Pats you though THANK YOU
Anonymous said: Hey!! I think your art is absolutely gorgeous; I aspire to draw like u one day. May I use ur art as profile pic or/and wallpaper?
Thank you so much! Keep drawing anon! :D And sure of course! Credit to my blog would be highly appreciated
Anonymous said: I always thought being the bottom was cool (way cuter and they get to control the top ) haven't people heard of power bottoms before? Lance is a power bottom if you ask me, he bottoms but dam son he's still cool and in charge XP
to tell you the truth i haven’t read a lot of good power bottom fics ever... in my life.. LMAO but yes power bottoms are great :)

Blue Hill at Stone Barns $ $ $ $ American  in  Westchester $$$$ 630 Bedford Rd. 9.7 /10
A big part of what makes Blue Hill such a special restaurant is the fact that its ingredients seem straight off of a Michael Pollan vision board. Whether or not you can turn them into a 40-course masterpiece like they do at the restaurant is another story.
Imani Caribbean Kitchen & Bar $$$$ 271 Adelphi St
Almost everything on the menu here - including meal combinations like curry goat with rice and a salad, or codfish fritters, mac and cheese, and kale salad - is $15 or less. CQN continues its enthralling and EXCLUSIVE extracts from Alex Gordon’s book, ‘That Season In Paradise’, which takes us through the months that were the most momentous in Celtic’s proud history.
Today, we look at another dramatic step along the team’s destination towards never-ending glory.
THE record books will show that the earliest big-hitting Tommy Gemmell ever scored a goal was in the twenty-eighth second. Unhappily, there was no cause for celebration because the landmark strike came against Celtic. The maverick left-back somehow contrived to slice a clearance beyond Ronnie Simpson to hand Queen’s Park a goal of a start in the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Parkhead a mere three days after the jubilation of the European triumph over Vojvodina Novi Sad.
The breezy individual can look back now on the effort that silenced the large majority of the 43,000 Parkhead crowd for all the wrong reasons and smile. ‘Sean Connery, old 007 himself, was introduced to the players before the game and then we all went out to get some photographs taken at the trackside before the kick-off. We all knew James Bond had a ‘licence to kill’, so I thought I would award myself a ‘licence to thrill’ and help our amateur opponents to make a game of it.
‘Aye, that will be right! Faither gave me an earful and I knew I had to atone as swiftly as possible. Thankfully, I got that chance only six minutes later when we were awarded a penalty-kick. Even then, the ball hit the underside of the bar before flying into the net. Now, if I had missed the spot-kick questions might have been asked.’
With the unintentional assistance of the extrovert defender, the Hampden side had become the third team to score three goals against Celtic at home that season at that stage, matching Dunfermline’s haul in the League Cup in September and Stirling Albion’s tally in the league in November. The Fifers conceded six and the Annfield side were hit for seven. Queen’s Park did marginally better and lost five. Stevie Chalmers put the Cup favourites ahead in the twenty-third minute, but the valiant opponents stunned the home support again eight minutes later when Niall Hopper equalised.
A two-goal salvo before half-time from Willie Wallace and Bobby Murdoch made it 4-2, but the Spiders outrageously claimed a third forty seconds after the interval with Hopper again on target. It was left to the ever-willing Bobby Lennox to see off the impudent Mount Florida outfit with a fifth goal six minutes from the end.
LICENCE TO THRILL…actor Sean Connery, the movie world’s 007 spy James Bond, shows his balls skills with the Celtic players before the Scottish Cup-tie against Queen’s Park at Parkhead.
The drama didn’t conclude with Lennox’s strike, unfortunately. Jimmy Johnstone got himself involved in an unseemly brawl with defender Miller Hay and both combatants were fortunate to remain on the pitch with an extremely lenient referee Jim Callaghan content to brandish only yellow cards, possibly taking into account the game had merely seconds to go until he blew for time-up. Johnstone’s misbehaviour didn’t escape the notice of chairman Bob Kelly or his unimpressed boardroom members watching the action from the directors’ box. Jock Stein may have changed their outmoded attitude towards vigorous tackling, but he was helpless to save his wee winger from punishment on this occasion.
Gemmell recalled, ‘We all realised Jinky had a temper – must have had something to do with red hair – and he just lost the plot against the Queen’s Park player. As I recall, it hadn’t been a particularly dirty game. Something, however, caused my wee pal to blow a fuse. The incident happened over at the Jungle down at the corner flag, so I didn’t get a good view. But I have to say it did look as though Jinky had demonstrated the well-known art of what is quaintly known as ‘The Glasgow Kiss’. Or, put another way, he stuck the heid on him. I think Jinky got a punch in the face in retribution, but we all thought that was the end of it at the final whistle. We could have guessed something was wrong when Big Jock told Jinky to remain behind after we had all changed, cleaned up and prepared to leave. The grim look on the manager’s face told us the Wee Man was in trouble.’
The Celtic directors hastily convened a meeting in the boardroom and, after short deliberation, Johnstone was informed the club would not tolerate such unacceptable misbehaviour by one of their players and he would be suspended forthwith for a week. The player might have considered himself fortunate. Before the influence of Stein, the board might have been persuaded to lobby for public flogging to be reintroduced. Johnstone was forced to pull out of the Scottish League squad that was due to play their English counterparts – dodging a 3-0 defeat while doing so – and the league game a week later against Dunfermline. The old Celtic board, though, weren’t so engulfed in morals as to prevent Johnstone training every day with the first team.
Jock Stein handed Johnstone’s No.7 shorts to John Hughes, but, sending out mixed signals to Dunfermline, he ordered Yogi to hug the left touchline. Once again, the ploy worked with the sturdy raider spending an enjoyable afternoon terrorising the Fife club’s right-back Willie Cunningham. In only three minutes, Stevie Chalmers took off on a spectacular horizontal dive to get his head to a Willie Wallace left-wing cross and divert the ball past his former team-mate Bent Martin low at his left-hand post. Alex Ferguson levelled matters in the nineteenth minute, but Tommy Gemmell sent an eruption of a penalty-kick high past Martin to restore the lead. Wallace nodded in the third before half-time and Ferguson, with the praiseworthy attribute of never giving up, handed his side faint hope with a second goal three minutes from the end.
Celtic, though, refused to surrender a third and the points were in the bag. Just as well because Rangers beat Ayr United 4-1 at Somerset Park on the same afternoon to go top of the table on the slenderest of goal average margins. However, the champions had a game in hand and no-one at Parkhead was pushing the panic button, but their age-old foes were refusing to give them any breathing space in a fairly anxious race for the title. It had all the indications of going all the way to the wire.
A crowd of 41,000 was in attendance to take in the encounter against Dunfermline and, incredibly, it meant the champions had been watched by over one million spectators at Celtic Park that season.
Following the triumph, one national newspaper reporter informed his readers, ‘The more I see of Celtic these days, the stronger becomes the impression that the strain of chasing domestic and European honours is having its effect. Certainly, against Queen’s Park the previous week and again on this occasion, when they played their fiftieth match of the season, their defence was not all it might have been.’ The correspondent went on to reflect, ‘Having said that, I must hasten to add that Celtic were far ahead in technique and thoroughly deserved to record their fourth victory of the season over the Fife club.’
ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE…Sean Connery with Celtic legends Tommy Gemmell and Billy McNeill.
The Ibrox side’s occupation of the pinnacle was short-lived as Celtic played on the following Monday evening and they only required a reasonable degree of competency to overwhelm a feeble Falkirk team 5-0 at Parkhead. A lot of the talk before the game was centred on the European Cup semi-final draw which had paired Celtic with the champions of Czechoslovakia, Dukla Prague. Not a lot was known of the Czech Army team apart from the fact their most notable personality was cultured midfielder Josef Masopust, who had been named European Footballer of the Year in 1962. At the age of thirty-six, though, some observers, in football parlance, thought he  was now ‘in bus pass territory’.
Jock Stein immediately delved into the Czechoslovakian fixture list to see if he could find a suitable date to watch Dukla; the Celtic manager detested going in ‘blind’ against opponents. It was obvious, however, Celtic had a major obstacle to overcome if they were to prove worthy of a place in the European Cup Final in Lisbon on May 25 where their opponents would be either the contrasting duo of Inter Milan or CSKA Sofia, who were drawn in the other semi-final. Big Jock was a man who explored and investigated rivals with a ferocious need to know.
He had already discussed the Dutch upstarts of Ajax with his good friend Bill Shankly, the manager of Liverpool. The Amsterdam team, largely unknown outwith their borders, had decimated the Anfield side 5-1 in the first leg of their second round European Cup-tie in Holland. They had galloped into an unassailable  four-goal interval lead and the English champions’ only response was a last-kick-of-the-ball counter from Chris Lawler. Unusually dismissive of opponents, Shankly claimed the result was a ‘complete fluke’ and Liverpool would turn it around in the return on Merseyside. Ajax twice led before the game settled at 2-2 and the Dutch progressed on an overwhelming 7-3 aggregate. A young player by the name of Johan Cruyff had scored three goals over the tie. Stein, with his natural curiosity, quizzed his friend on the merits of the stylish Amsterdammers.
Shankly assured Stein Ajax had deserved their victory, he had no complaints and admitted he had witnessed something completely new in the construction of a team’s tactics. Of course, the system later became known as ‘Total Football’, but, in the sixties, this was a brand new concept and it was highly unusual to witness outfield players who were naturally comfortable in every position within the structure of the team. ‘John’ – as Shankly persistently called the Celtic manager – was told Ajax had the players and strategy to turn football on its head and win the European Cup that season. The Liverpool boss was not known for his wild speculation or outrageous predictions. Stein took everything he said on board and decided to travel to an Ajax game at some point in the near future. However, Dukla Prague, skilful and methodical, derailed Cruyff and Co at the next stage of the competition. The Czechs achieved a 1-1 draw at the old De Meer stadium, with a capacity of 19,000, and edged a tight affair 2-1 in Prague. Without watching them live, Stein realised they were a team of some pedigree and quality.
Before that appetising double-header against the Czechs, though, there was the urgent requirement of another two points against Falkirk that would catapult Celtic back into pole position in the defence of their First Division title. Jimmy Johnstone, suitably chastised, was back in his familiar position at outside-right with John Hughes still wide on the opposite flank. The Brockville side resisted the champions’ varied assaults until the twenty-fifth minute when Johnstone plonked a pass in front of Stevie Chalmers. His first shot was blocked, but he latched onto the rebound and fired home from close range. The canny, calculating Bertie Auld doubled the advantage before half-time with an ingenious lob from the edge of the box that sailed high into the net.
The goal of the game, though, belonged to Hughes, in the sixty-sixth minute, when he decided to go on one of his trademark solo runs with a net-bursting twenty-yarder to complete his impromptu act of defence-shredding ability. Falkirk’s lumbering centre-half Doug Ballie welcomed Johnstone back to the fold by flattening him a minute later and Tommy Gemmell flashed in the inevitable spot-kick. Chalmers collected the fifth shortly afterwards. After a solid night’s work, Celtic were top of the league by two points, with a total of forty-eight from twenty-seven games.
Almost unnoticed in the midst of the frantic football action, Joe McBride’s season had come to a halt. The centre-forward had been forced to admit he would not be in action until the new campaign got underway following a cartilage operation at Killearn Hospital in Stirlingshire. Jock Stein expressed sympathy for the player and at the same time had a sideswipe at the rumour-mongers who insisted McBride’s career was over. He said, ‘The specialists have advised Joe to give his knee complete rest over his period of recuperation. Of course, Celtic will miss him and what he gives this team, but we want him back to full strength and we accept the decision of the surgeons. However, Joe has proved over and over again he can deal with challenges and we look forward to him taking up where he left off in the new season. He has got a lot more goals to score for Celtic Football Club.’
PICK IT OUT…Tommy Gemmell blasts an unstoppable penalty-kick past Queen’s Park keeper Wilson in the 5-3 Scottish Cup success in March 1967.
The blow, of course, had been lightened by the arrival of Willie Wallace and that was highlighted on a wintry Saturday afternoon in Edinburgh on March 25 when the versatile international returned to face his former Hearts team-mates at Tynecastle. A crowd of 25,000 was in place by the time of the kick-off and there had been talk of Wallace being given a hostile reception from the home supporters after his supposed ‘defection’ to Celtic. If that talk was expected to mess with the player’s head it was a waste of someone’s time. Wallace simply responded with, ‘I’m a Celtic player now, we’re top of the league and that’s where we want to stay. I’ll do everything I can to guarantee a win. It doesn’t matter that it’s Hearts or anyone else, two points are our priority.’
Wallace was as good as his word as he notched a clever second goal direct from a free-kick in Celtic’s 3-0 victory in the freezing capital. Bertie Auld claimed the opener three minutes from the break when goalkeeper Jim Cruickshank could only beat away a Jimmy Johnstone cross to the edge of the penalty box. The midfielder, poised like a cobra, waited for the ball to drop before volleying a sweet left-foot drive into the exposed net. Just after the hour mark, Wallace’s bones were rattled by former team-mate Chris Shevlane, a hard-working right-back who would join up at Parkhead in the summer on a surprise free transfer.
Wallace placed the ball about twenty-five yards out and foxed his old friend Cruickshank with a deliberate low shot into the corner. The keeper didn’t even move. With five minutes remaining, Tommy Gemmell was given the opportunity to put the result beyond doubt when Celtic were awarded a penalty-kick. The left-back looked aghast when his effort was saved, but referee Archie Webster immediately ordered a retake, presumably for Cruickshank moving before the kick was taken. Gemmell accepted the opportunity to make amends and bulged the net on this occasion.
The games were coming thick and fast as the final tape to the campaign beckoned. Celtic now had to face Partick Thistle on Monday night and a remarkable crowd of 30,000, sensing something wonderful was in the air, packed into trim Firhill to catch the latest thrilling instalment. Bobby Murdoch had hirpled out of the game against Hearts with an ankle injury and hadn’t recovered in time for the game in Maryhill. Willie Wallace took over his right-sided midfield role and looked as though he had played there all his career. And he threw in a goal, too, in a 4-1 victory that was anything as comfortable as the scoreline suggested. Thistle made life extremely difficult for their visitors that evening in Glasgow’s west end.
Bertie Auld wasn’t risked, either, as Jock Stein paired Wallace with Charlie Gallagher in midfield, the first time the duo had performed alongside each other. It worked a treat. But Jimmy Johnstone was the Celtic player who picked up the gauntlet in the inexorable, exacting and, ultimately, exciting trek towards two points. The little outside-right turned in a mazy, mesmerising display to defy the conditions of the uneven, bumpy surface. He was up against a doughty, indomitable defender in George Muir, who, in Scottish football circles, was known euphemistically as a ‘stuffy, wee full-back’. In plainer terms, the Thistle player wouldn’t think twice about attempting to launch an opponent somewhere near Great Western Road. It was a ‘tactic’ that wasn’t designed to win any accolades from aficionados of football or international recognition, but it was effective; some outside-rights of the era were terrified to trespass into Thistle’s half such was the fear Muir struck into their heart. If that was the case with Celtic’s little maestro, his disguise was perfect. Johnstone tore Muir and Thistle to shreds and set up the opening three goals.
The first came straight off the Barrowfield training ground and would have had Stein purring with delight in the dug-out. Johnstone lined up to take a right-wing corner-kick and Billy McNeill, as usual, sauntered to the edge of enemy territory to add his aerial threat to proceedings. Tommy Gemmell lined up on the left-hand side of the penalty area waiting for knock-outs and rebounds that he would despatch back from whence they came on a regular basis. However, Jinky signalled to his best pal Bobby Lennox to take up a position outside the congested six-yard area. Lennox, unhindered, retreated about twelve yards and Johnstone picked him out with a perfect execution and the striker did it justice with a supreme volley that saw the ball tear past George Niven for the crucial breakthrough goal just four minutes from the interval. Fittingly, it justified its acclaim as Celtic’s one hundredth league goal of the season.
At half-time, Stein warned his troops to maintain their concentration. Thistle, he knew, were dangerous on the break and they possessed a sharp frontman in Johnny Flanagan, a tricky, will-o’-the-wisp striker who had been linked with Celtic in the past. Big Jock admired Flanagan, but didn’t rate him as highly as Lennox and he didn’t see that he could play both in the same forward line. As luck would have it, it was Flanagan who piled the pressure on the Parkhead side that evening with the equalising goal seven minutes after the turnaround. Once again, the former winger utilised his acceleration to race onto a through pass and, unexpectedly, hit a shot on the run before Ronnie Simpson could set himself. Flanagan’s searing twenty-five yard effort flashed past the perplexed Celtic keeper and crashed into the net via the upright.
Johnstone answered the SOS. He teased and tormented Muir as he came in from the right, jinking one way and going another. Muir was helplessly beaten and wing-half Tommy Gibb attempted to close down the void without success. Johnstone curled a cross impeccably onto Stevie Chalmers’ head and Niven was picking the ball out of the net for a second time in the fifty-ninth minute. Eight minutes later, Wallace, from another accurate right-wing corner-kick from Johnstone, hit a first-timer that skidded on the slippery surface and eluded the desperate dive of the veteran keeper. Chalmers made certain with another header following an excellent left-wing delivery from Gemmell.
The enterprising left-back never tired of extolling the virtues of his team-mate and close friend Johnstone. ‘God only knows how many times I’ve been asked to name my most dangerous opponent. It’s an answer in two parts – on the field in competition, George Best; in training, Jimmy Johnstone. I faced Bestie a few times at club and country level and he was a magnificent player; tricky, two-footed, good in the air and, forget those slender looks, as hard as nails. Jinky? What can I say? I looked at him during games and just thanked my lucky stars I was in the same team. I could see him right in the mood before some matches and I knew some poor left-back was going to get the runaround from the Wee Man. What was it Liverpool defender Emlyn Hughes said after a Scotland v England game? “I came off the pitch with twisted blood,” was his great quote. More than a few must have felt the exact same condition after Jinky went to work on them.
‘I faced Jinky every day in training, of course, and you hoped he wasn’t in one of those moods to continually thrust the ball through your legs and run around you shouting “Goodbye!” as he did so. Trust me, it wasn’t funny after awhile. I would say to him, “Do that again, you wee so-and-so, and I’ll kick you up the backside.” He never responded to threats. Unfortunately, If anything, it spurred him on to do it again and again. Every now and again Big Jock would look over and shout, “Right, Jinky, that’s enough of that. We’re here to train – get on with it.”
‘On those occasions, you were thankful the manager was in the vicinity to put an end to that morning’s torture. There was no badness in Jinky and he wasn’t attempting to show you up or anything like that. He just had this tremendous sense of mischief and fun although I have to admit there were times when I wondered about his particular sense of humour. Especially when I was on the receiving end.’
