Word count: 1.4k

“I need your help.”
“Hm?” Yuji blinked. “Sure thing. What for?”
“Just … Just come over.”
“But ―”
“You’ll see when you get here,” You said through gritted teeth, and of course you were frustrated, but it almost seemed like you were struggling against something.
“Okay, be over in a sec!”
You hung up. Yuji stared at the black square of his screen. Now, he was curious.
Tumblr media
Yuji muffled a snicker.
“Don’t laugh.”
“I’m not!”
“You are!” You wiggled your ass at him. “I can hear you! I’m stuck, I’m not deaf!”
Yuji sobered. It really wasn’t funny if you took a second to consider the repercussions of it all. “It’s lucky I have a key.”
You sighed. “D’you think you can get me out?”
Yuji saluted. “I’m on it!”
He maneuvered around you, careful to avoid your ass sticking out of the wall. He swallowed; of all the days to wear a skirt. He gripped your hips and pulled ―
“Ow, ow!” You wagged your legs.
Yuji stopped immediately. “Sorry!”
You sighed. “God, I’m gonna be stuck here forever.”
“Don’t think like that!” Yuji said. “How’d this even happen?”
“Remember the hole in the wall I said I’d fix?” You said. “Well …”
Yuji brainstormed. “Maybe I need to loosen you up.”
“Well, obviously ―”
“No, I mean, with something …”
“I have some lube in the drawer of my nightstand?”
Yuji blushed, figured he better not ask, even though now his unhelpful images of you lubing up with your pretty pussy made his mouth water.
“O ― Okay.”
He strode to your bedroom and fished into the drawer, finding the lube without issue. Kneeling on the floor of the wall, he spilled lube into a puddle in his palm before fixing it around the outline of your body.
“Ugh,” You said. “This better work.”
He pulled, gently, using increasingly more powerful thrusts to exert you out of your self made hole. Still, you wouldn’t budge.
“Ah, damn, I can’t …” Yuji kept pulling, careful to not injure you, but continued to face resistance. “I’d end up taking this whole wall down.”
You whined. “What’s wrong now?”
Yuji reddened as he toyed with the elastic of your panties. “I think these need to come off,” he murmured.
He waited for your rage, for you to call him a pervert ― he’d deserve it anyway, he had to go and say it after all ― but instead you simply sighed.
“Do it.”
Yuji’s eyes widened. “What ―?”
“We have to get rid of as much friction as possible and I don’t wanna be stuck here forever!” You said.
Yuji fought the urge to eye the way your panties hugged your cunt and failed.
“But …”
“It’s okay, Yuji.”
With trembling hands, he hooked a finger under the elastic and pulled. They stuck on the fat of your thighs. Yuji bit into his cheek. Your cunt was right there. Perfect and plump and ― and did he detect a bit of wetness there, between the plush of your outer folds?
No, he was twilight-zoning. That’s all it was.
“What’s going back there?” Your voice took Yuji out of his reverie.
“N ― Nothing!” Yuji adjusted on his knees, desperate to avoid the raging erection making it hard to move much anywhere in any direction. “Okay, let’s try this again.”
Yuji hooked hands around your now-naked hips, tried a few jerky pulls. Your lower half budged if only by an inch.
“I think it’s working!”
“Good! Keep pulling!”
Yuji maneuvered behind you. Bad move. His gaze flickered to your perfect ass, and he could only imagine him in this position in a different context. His hips thrusting into you, your ass rippling with the power of his … Shit. Focus. Focus.
Yuji concentrated and tugged you toward one more time ―
Your lower half jerked, your ass colliding with his crotch.
“Ah!”
Yuji drew in a sharp breath, kneeled over his hardon. “Sorry …” His voice was so weak.
“Is that … Is that you?”
Yuji froze. “Wha ― What do you mean?”
“I mean …” Your sock-covered foot brushed against his leg. “Is that you, that I feel?”
Yuji hung his head in shame. “Ye ― Yeah …” He tried for a laugh, but it came out as nervous as he was. “I’m really sorry, I just ―”
“Maybe …” You trailed, rubbing your thighs together. “ … we can make the most of this situation.”
Yuji braved a hand against your thigh, caressing the skin. “You mean …?”
“I think we should fuck while I’m like this,” You said. Yuji had tunnel vision for your pussy and it was almost like it was talking to him, egging him on. Daring him to … “I mean, my panties are already down, aren’t they? You’d just have to …”
Your voice waned, most likely because you could hear his zipper coming down.
“You’d really let me, (Y/n)?” Yuji said, already freeing his aching cock to stroke. “You’re okay with this after all?”
“Yeah.” You sounded so breathless.
Fuck.
Yuji aligned his cock with your sweet, puffy lips. His eyes fluttered closed; his head slid against and between your outer folds, lathering his head with your translucent juices. Already, you felt so good.
“Mmm, Yuji …” His cock twitched to hear his voice on your tongue. “You feel good ― I bet you’re big.”
Yuji’s cheeks warmed as he eyed the way your folds rippled against his aching member. “I think so.”
You wagged your ass in his face. “Prove it.”
Fuuuck.
He slid into you with ease. His mind reeled as your walls hugged him, inch by inch.  He settled a hand on one of your ass cheeks. “Feel so good …” he breathed out. He fixed a hand at one of your slippery hips to bring himself inside fully, his pubic hairs brushing against the plump of your ass.
“Ahhh …!” Your voice was heavenly. “Yuji ―!”
With one hand on your slippery hip and another on the crest of your crack, Yuji rocked into you. The wall hole wobbled and knocked in time with his thrusts. His breath lay trapped in his lungs at the tight hug of your cunt.
“Yu ― Yuji …!” You stammered, voice choked by surprise as he quickened his pace.
Yuji licked his lips. He hoped you were impressed with him. His eyes fell lidded as he slipped into a trance, single-minded and sidetracked by nothing but the feel of you around him. Yuji’s breath escaped at last in a gasp as you rocked back to fuck him, too.
Yuji lurched forward, chest against your back as he sped up, hips spanking into your ass. His sloppy hand spurred forward, past the curve of your abdomen to fox out your clit.
“Mmmm!” You fucked onto him messily, but it was impossible for you to keep up with Yuji’s pace.
He bent down to kiss the little bit of exposed skin from your ridden-up tank top, unsure whether or not you even felt it, would even know he’d done it. What you would feel is his fingers flicking at your clit ― and he was rewarded with a louder moan coupled with your legs quivering underneath him, and it was better than any praise you could’ve given him.
“Fuck!” Yuji heard a tap on the other side that must’ve been you slapping a hand to the floor. “I’m ― I’m close!”
Yuji left an even softer kiss to your ass cheek and straightened up again to adjust his pace. He nearly doubled over again at the clench of your pussy and knew instinctively you weren’t the only one.
Yuji crashed hips into you as you cried out. He grunted, holding your trembling lower half steady as you came around him, a jolt of inspiration spurring him to press a thumb into your gaping asshole.
“Yuji!”
He whined, spilling into you at the sound of his name. You milked him while he mindlessly thumbed you, lost in what he’d always wanted to experience: being inside you.
He gave a few more thrusts, falling over you again from the frantic stimuli ―
The hole around the two of you gave. Yuji face-planted on your back as you yelped. In an instant, he shielded you, sure the rest of the wall would give in and bury the two of you.
It didn’t.
Quiet.
“Well ― um …” Yuji slid out of you because it seemed the least he could do. “That worked!”
You faced the floor, your shoulders bouncing with mirth. “I can’t believe this.”
He joined you. The laughter didn’t stop as he helped you dress and shave the wall chippings clinging to your body. He was ready to offer you his jacket when you stopped him ―
“Yuji, I’m fine!” You assured him, stopping him. “Really!”
“Hmm.” He scanned you. “Okay.”
You giggled. “And thanks for coming ― stop,” You added as Yuji started laughing again. “Thanks for your help.”
Yuji grinned. “You can always count on me.”

I'm the ugliest nerd in the world and I have nobody. I wish I was a man with dark brown eyes, nice muscles and everything that makes a himbo... and every nerd I kiss becomes a man like only an Arabian fairy tale could tell. He would only want me. Only I could keep his muscular body up with kisses and fucks.
Can you grant me this one Wish?
An Arabian fairy tale
Once upon a time, there was a nerd called Gregor. He lived his life in a big city and every day, he was miserable. Not only was he gay and lonely, no, the little nerd was also ugly. He wasn't just ugly, no, he was the ugliest nerd there was in the whole country.
Tumblr media
Every day he wished he could find a lover and live happily ever after, but every day, he was reminded of his status as a lonely nerd. He tried online-dating, but due to his exterior, nobody seemed to want him.
Gregor was a shy, awkward guy who didn't get many chances to talk to strangers. In his free time, he enjoyed writing fantasy stories, a hobby that didn't bring him too many friends, either. It was frustrating, too. In his stories, the hero always managed to find a true love. He wasn't alone, no, he had someone at his side.
In his real life, however, Gregor didn't have such luck. The best thing that happened to him in a while was meeting another nerd online. There wasn't going to be anything romantic between them. As fate would have it, the other nerd, called Evan was also gay and lived not too far away, but Evan had made it pretty clear early on that Gregor just wasn't his type. Instead, he rooted for manly men, with a different ethnic background. Evan and Gregor spent a long lonely night in voice chat together, discussing their preferences. Evan apparently longed for the firm touch of a strong man with Arabic background.
Meanwhile, Gregor didn't dare say what he wished for. What was the use, anyway? There was no way it was going to happen. No one wanted to be with a weak, ugly nerd like him. To be honest, he didn't actually really know himself. In his thoughts, a partner was something so abstract, so far away that he hadn't even thought about how such a person would look like.
Evan's fantasy wasn't bad, though. After their talk, Gregor lay awake in his bed and imagined strong, middle-eastern men, along with Evan. Perhaps he had developed a slight crush on the other nerd. Finally, he drifted off to sleep, wishing that he and Evan could be together.
When Gregor awoke the next morning, he felt strangely energetic and in a pretty good mood. Thinking nothing of it, he quickly got dressed and thought about what to do today. He didn't have any work to do and would usually have spent the day indoors, writing one of his stories. However, after the refreshing talk yesterday, that didn't feel all too appealing. Instead, he had an idea: He knew where Evan lived and worked. Perhaps he should walk over to that other part of the city, and they could have a coffee. Not as a date, of course - but more as a continuation of last night's talk.
Gregor didn't have time to waste and left the house. As he stepped into the sun, the first thing he noticed was how bright the world suddenly appeared. He didn't think much of it, but a few moments later, the second strange thing happened: People were looking at him!
Now, Gregor was of course used to people looking after him - he was really ugly, after all! But today, it was different. The gazes that lingered on him didn't seem to be hostile or disgusted. They seemed curious.
Perhaps his shirt had a hole in it, Gregor thought. He checked himself, but no, the shirt was fine.
As he walked, the attention he drew increased steadily. Was there something on his face perhaps? Or his arms?
As he checked his arms, Gregor was amazed by what he saw: His milky-white skin that usually had a sickly tone to it was entirely different today: instead of the pale and blotchy skin, he now had a healthy and firm complexion. The muscles in his arms, which he usually thought of as scrawny and flabby were now clearly visible.
He checked the other arm, and it was the same. What was going on? Also, his vision was getting blurry. When he took off his glasses to clean them, however, his vision cleared up instantly. It was as if his short-sightedness was just gone!
As Gregor kept walking, the changes became more apparent: His legs, which had always been thin and small, were now visibly muscular. His stomach, which had always been a little fat, was now a firm six-pack. His clothes, which had been a bit baggy before, were getting tighter and tighter as both his height and his shoulder width increased more and more.
His hair, which had always been a dark brown, was getting even darker, and a strong stubble covered his chin. His skin, which had been the same milky white tone, was getting a darker, more exotic tan.
Gregor had no idea what was going on, and he was a little scared. But the more his body changed, the better he felt about it. He wasn't an ugly nerd anymore. He was not yet sure what he was going to become, but it was surely better than what he had been.
Meanwhile, his clothes were getting increasingly tight, and he felt like taking them off. That was not something he would ever do in public, but his urges were stronger than his shyness. With a quick movement, he took off his shirt and ripped his pants open. To his surprise, below the tight jeans, a pair of silk shorts in a shiny royal blue had formed instead of his slip, which covered his privates. However, even though he wasn't naked, the ample bulge that stretched the silky fabric left little to imagination: a large and thick manhood had formed between his legs, which left a clearly visible dick print, along with the thinly veiled big orbs of balls he now had.
By now, Gregor's appearance was attracting a lot of attention, as his body kept growing more and more, becoming larger and more impressive by the second. He wasn't even "lean" or "fit" anymore. The way his body expanded, he definitely qualified as "muscular" by now, perhaps even "bulky". His shoulders were wide and strong, and his back had filled out so much that his neck had almost disappeared entirely. His biceps and triceps were both at least the size of his head and were covered in a fine, dark fuzz. The rest of his body had also become much hairier: His chest was covered in a generous carpet of dark hairs and a thick bush of pubes was pushing out against the silky shorts.
People had stopped and stared, and even a few had started to snap pictures or take videos with their phones. Gregor was enjoying the attention. His facial structure reformed into something much more manly. His new Arabic heritage became clearly visible on his face. His nose, his eyes, and his jawline changed and became broader, more prominent. His eyes became deep and dark, and his bushy eyebrows made him appear quite serious and manly.
A superior grin appeared on his face that wouldn't go away anymore. Gregor knew he had become a walking wet dream of Arabic hunkness - especially for Evan. He couldn't wait to surprise him like that.
Tumblr media
Even though his identity hadn't changed much, Gregor didn't feel like calling himself Gregor anymore. Ghalib. That was a far more fitting name for his impressive Arabic stature. It meant 'victor' or 'conqueror' - and Ghalib felt exactly like that.
Ghalib wasn't even sweating when he arrived at Evans place a short jog later. He rang the bell, and when the little nerd in front of him opened, he didn't waste any time: Ghalib pulled Evan into a tight and sensual kiss, invading the other man's mouth with determined force. Evan moaned in his mouth and his legs gave in.
Ghalib held the small nerd up and carried him inside the flat, kicking the door shut behind him. The rest of their clothes soon littered the floor as the two men kissed passionately. However, as they were making out, Evan, too, began to change. It was almost like watching his own changes in fast forward: The hair on his head receded into a shorter style and was replaced by a thick fuzz that grew on his chest and the rest of his body. Evan's face morphed into a masculine and rugged appearance. His skinny, pale arms and legs grew more and more muscles, until they looked like they were sculpted out of marble. His skin darkened and an Arabic ethnicity appeared by it.
Finally, the smaller man's cock expanded and swelled up. Within a few seconds, it reached almost the size of Ghalib's.
Tumblr media
As they continued kissing, the two men, now equally hung and ripped, felt up each other's bodies. Ghalib had no idea why this was happening, or what had brought on these changes, but he didn't care. All he knew - or was pretty sure about - was that it didn't have to stop with Evan.
As the other hunk went down on him, Ghalib made a decision. Evan and he would share their gift, turning more and more nerds into a true harem of sexy Arabs!

Tw: masturbation, kind of rough x?, and embarrassment obvi, SMUT like hella smut
S: up there ^
Have no idea if u mean to date evan or old him. So I'm just use to date, not romantically like up to date
Tumblr media
Evan turned in bed, picking up his phone to check the time. It was almost 8am, and he really needed to go for work like usual.
So, he tried his best to get out of bed without alarming you, making sure to get off on the right parts so the bed didn't squeak. You were still asleep, so he didn't panic much. Evan didn't want to upset you, you always got sad when he left early so he made sure to not wake you up.
After drinking coffee and getting dressed, he grabbed a protein bar and left. Of course he felt bad about not telling you he was leaving but it was kind of routine by now. You'd eventually figure it out.
And you did. When you woke up you were a bit frustrated he wasn't there but it wasn't hard to put the puzzle pieces together. You just got up and did your own routine, taking a shower etc.
But now what would you do? You looked in the mirror and drew a few things in the glass before stepping out and getting some clothes on. Evan dedicated his life to his job, and honestly you hated it. You hated how he'd always be gone. You hated how people on the internet would absolutely bash you for stealing him. There was just so much stress. Too much.
You still loved him. No matter what he was always your first thought. Waking up in the morning next to him is what you always looked foward to, but he was gone that morning. His presence was so enlightening. His everlasting joy was so obnoxious at times, but you still loved him.
That day, or morning, you thought about what to do. Of course you showered and ate breakfast.. but what else? You and evan hadn't done anything in a month. Maybe even longer. You had.. well.. thoughts. Lots of thoughts about him. Naked, in the shower, swimming... I mean, you could only think of him when you wanted to masturbate.
Masturbating probably wouldn't be the most mature, but you needed to feel pleasure. It had been awhile, you deserved it. So, you went to your bedroom that you shared with evan and closed the door before getting into bed. You grabbed your phone and went on a porn site, nothing special. Your thumb swiped and swiped through the black and orange, coming across many videos.
You felt somewhat guilty. Kind of bad to be honest. You should've been with evan. Watching him instead of some random dude. But, you still clicked on one of the videos, them of course not showing their face, neither the girl. You sighed, slipping your hand into your panties and touching the hot slick.
You rubbed yourself for a few seconds, getting more slick to make it easier. You whined, watching the video, and watching the cumshot.
Your finger tip went with a nice rhythm, a clean pace as you watched. Your hips buckled, your finger following your clit. You ached for your orgasm. For the pleasure. You closed your eyes and imagined evan. Evan doing the same things as the men in the video.
Then, as your eyes were shut, and you neared towards your orgasm. You didn't even hear the door opening to your condo.. you just assumed it was in the porn you were watching.
Evan had came home. They had let him off early, and he immediately noticed your sounds. Maybe it was just a movie?? Was that why all the lights were out?
Evan kept the lights down while he opened the door just a little to not alarm you. His eyes widened as his face turned a pink color seeing what you were doing. But, he didn't look away.
You continued to touch yourself, a feeling of pleasure and ecstasy washing over you. You let out a whimper and a moan, your head falling back and your legs going limp. But your finger kept moving. You moaned a little louder, only imagining evan touching your clit.
Evan just watching. His hands got clammy and his face drained of color, the blood going down his body to accustom his needs. His cock grew harder by the second, his pants getting much tighter than usual. His hand moved to his bulge, palming it through his pants. He pushed down, his lip getting crush by his teeth as he tried to suppress his moans.
You were a complete mess. Sprawled out on the bed, your hips moving into your finger desperately, and your finger tip moving at a fast pace. You let out another moan. The porn didn't even serve its purpose anymore, so you turned off your phone and put it down, your finger continuing to stimulate you.
"Evan!~" you moaned, obviously imagining him doing it. Evan now knew exactly what you were thinking of, and he let out a little whimper, his pants feeling unbearable to be in now.
You overlooked the noise, assuming it was just yourself. So, you continued, your moans getting even louder as you grinded into what was supposed to be evans dick. It should've been to. You should've been fucking evan right now.. but you weren't.
Evans hand slipped under his pants and into his underwear as he made a tight fist around his shaft, imagining it was your tight walls around him, your precious little sounds escaping your throat while he fucked you.
And while evan lived his fantasy, you lived yours. Evans orgasm creeped closer while he bucked his hips into his hand, his eyes squeezing shut and his head shooting back. His Adam's apple bobbed when he swallowed, his orgasm creeping a little closer.
You were still at it, your finger going at the quickest speed it could to fulfill your needs. Then, you came again, a loud moan escaping your lips. You panted and cussed to yourself while you slipped your panties off, looking at the drenched spot on them. You collected your arousal and looked at it for a second before rubbing it back where it belonged. Your body squirmed from the harsh over stimulation, but you loved it. You loved it and hated it at the same time, so you went gentle, whimpers leaving your throat as you did so.
Evan kept his hand moving, it going quick with his pre cum helping. His eyes rolled back as he came, right into his underwear. He panted, giving himself another few pumps before stopping and letting his hand go. He turned his head, looking over at you before smiling and closing the door quietly.
While you whimpered and moaned, this time, you heard the door to your condo open, and the lights turn on. You panicked, taking your finger from your panties and slipping on some pajama shorts before getting out of bed.
Evan was at the door, his stuff put on the counter while he turned to you.
"They let me off early, you wanna do something maybe..?" He laughed lightly, and you just walked in, nodding.
"Sure.. like a movie maybe?" You smiled back, leaning against the counter infront of him.
"No, I was thinking something else.." he said, his hands latching onto your waist and him moving closer to you.
"Oh- like.." you tried to find the words, but you were interrupted by him kissing you, it being as soft as his lips and personality.
"Yeah, like that." He hummed, his kisses trailing to your jaw and under your ear. You couldn't help but giggle a little. You had been wishing for this moment... and it was really happening. Your hands found evans shoulders and you kissed him on his neck a few times before he started to move you up on the counter.
You held onto his shoulders while you kissed, both your tongues exploring each other's mouths. You pulled him closer, and before you knew it you felt your body heat up like before.
Evans hands disappeared from your waist, a zipper noise and belt buckle noise, then he put his hands on your shorts and tugged the down, making sure to look up at you for the go. Once you smiled, his finger snapped at your panties, the fabric hitting your skin.
"Mm.." he mumbled, finally pulling down your underwear. You looked down, his erection perked and aggressive like last time. You saw the cum stain, but you had no time to say anything. Evan pushed into you and you let out a gasp before he kissed you again, his lips intertwined with yours.
His thrusts go more aggressive to the point where he was pounding into you. You clawed at his back, keeping him close, but you two both know you needed this. You both needed some time together.
Evan groaned, you whimpering while he pushed your hips into the counter top, his thrusts moving you with him. You yelped almost from how fast he was going, but you loved it. It was just what you imagined. Just what Evan had imagined. Your tight walls pulsing as he fucked you.. your sweet moans. He was addicted to that feeling. To make you crumble under him.. to make him crumble over you. You both had the same wishes.. and those wishes came true.
Evans pounds got sloppy, the drum of you two hitting each other starting to calm down a bit, but he still went at a fast pace.
"Oh fuck!" You muttered under your breath, evan hitting all your good spots.. filling each part of you with his flaming hot desire. Evan just grumbled.. leaving sloppy kisses all over your neck as he continued to thrust, keeping his pace.
Evan grew louder, his moans getting more animalistic while you hugged him to get some grasp on something. Then, he groaned, his last thrust undeniably wet and sloppy. You moaned with him, and he looked down, his dick moving slowly as he rode out his orgasm.. "oh.. shit.." he cussed under his breath, and you felt him pull out.
Your hand went down to your soaking wet cunt, and you looked at the hot white cum he had pumped you with. You smiled, your face pink and his tip still a cherry red.
"Round 2?" You asked, laughing lightly before lubricating his cock with his own cum.
"Round 3.." he corrected, and you just looked up at his face, only to see a smug grin.
"What?" You asked, really hoping he wasn't implying what you thought.
He laughed, his hand moving down to pump himself once more.
"I watched you.. you were kinda loud." He laughed, that grin still all over his face.
You turned red with embarrassment, and immediately opened your mouth to speak, but it was muffle once more with his mouth.
You were once more pushed against the counter, your back hitting the cold granite...
"It's round 3, just to be clear." He snickered, and before you could speak, he was filling you once more.

everybody loves a coffeeshop au
[part 2] [part 3] [part 4] [part 5] [part 6] [part 7] [part 8] [part 9] [part 10] [part 11] [read on ao3]
October 10th
The first time the cute metalhead came into the Waystation, Steve was on bar and didn't catch his name. His order wasn't complicated, but it was long. Three medium black coffees, one small London fog, a large half sweet vanilla latte with soy milk, and a small hot chocolate. He'd paid in cash, leaving the change in the tip jar, and left in a hurry balancing the drink carriers on top of each other. If it hadn't been in the middle of a rush, Steve would've run around the counter and offered to hold the door for him.
Fortunately for Steve, he came in the next day, at the same time, with the same order, and Steve was on register this time.
"And can I get a name for the order?" Steve asked, punching the drinks into the computer.
"Eddie," the man said.
"Awesome. We'll have that all at the end for you," Steve said with a smile. Eddie dropped his change in the tip jar and wordlessly walked away.
One of Steve's favorite parts of the job was getting to talk to beautiful people. Not everyone was, of course, but a few times a day a customer would come in with long curly hair or beautiful eyes or a charming smile and Steve would fall in love with them for thirty seconds and then usually never see them again and it was fine. It was fun. It was harmless.
Eddie had all those things, all the things Steve was a sucker for, but unlike all the others, Eddie kept coming back.
It took a month or so, but eventually everyone in the shop had either taken or made Eddie's order so many times that they all knew what it was and could start making it before he'd even reached the counter. Or rather, immediately abandon Steve and force him to make it.
It was fine with Steve, though. He didn't mind making long orders, and it gave him a chance to chat with Eddie, not that he ever did. If he were a little braver, maybe he would talk, maybe ask where Eddie works, maybe get the story on why he comes in alone every day to carry an entire office's worth of drinks out.
Maybe get his number.
But Steve wasn't braver, and instead of talking to him, he contented himself to just make the drinks and sneak glances whenever he could to admire the way Eddie's hair fell over his shoulders, the way his rings glinted and drew attention to his hands, the way he would sometimes stick his tongue out, just a little, if he was really absorbed in whatever he was doing.
Steve really wanted his number.
December 3rd
“Steve!” Robin yelled from the register. “Your boyfriend’s here!”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” Steve huffed, but came up front anyway as the bell on the door chimed. “Hey Eddie. Usual?”
“Yeah, thanks,” Eddie nodded, handing Steve a wad of ones and fives. He dropped the change in the tip jar, like every day, and went to the end of the counter to wait. Steve watched him as he made the order. He wasn’t doing anything, just looking at his phone, but the cold outside had flushed his cheeks bright red and Steve couldn’t help but stare.
“Is it snowing out there yet?” he asked, putting lids on the plain coffees and popping them into a carrier.
“Huh? Oh, no. Is it supposed to?” Eddie seemed surprised that someone was talking to him, but he looked up anyway, slipping his phone back in his pocket.
“That’s what I’ve heard,” Steve shrugged. “Pretty much every old lady in here this morning has complained about their arthritis and the weather, so I just assumed.”
“Oh, yeah?” Eddie laughed, leaning on the counter. Steve wanted to listen to him laugh all day.
“Yeah,” he smiled. “Perks of the job, y’know? Never have to check the weather, just wait until somebody with a bad knee comes in.”
“I always thought that was a myth.”
“I dunno, man,” Steve shrugged again, sliding the drink carriers onto the counter. Eddie was smiling at him, wild curls framing his face. “They only had to be right a couple times to make me a believer.”
“Well,” Eddie said, carefully stacking the drinks on top of each other. “If it starts snowing later, I might start believing it too.”
Steve could’ve sworn Eddie winked at him on his way out.
“Oh my god, that was pathetic,” Robin said, reemerging from the back. “If you’re gonna flirt with him, just flirt with him. Is it snowing yet? Fuck off.”
“Wait, did Steve finally talk to that guy?” Chrissy, their assistant manager, poked her head out of the kitchen.
“Yeah, sorta,” Robin chided.
“I honestly don’t know what you see in him, Steve,” Chrissy said, bringing a tray of pastries up front to put in the case.
“What? What do you mean?” Steve crossed his arms.
“Nothing! Just… He’s kinda weird, isn’t he? Like, standoffish?” She looked to Robin, who nodded. “I mean, you do you, but…”
“Wait, is this why you guys always shove me up front when he’s here?”
The girls looked at each other and then at Steve.
“Yeah, pretty much,” Chrissy admitted.
“You’re the only one that doesn’t mind him, so… He’s your problem,” Robin agreed.
“Proud of you for actually working up the nerve to talk to him, though.”
“Yeah, even if it was just about the stupid weather.”
Sure enough, it started snowing within the hour.
December 30th, Afternoon
Robin had begged Steve to swap shifts with her so she could go on a date. Normally Steve was an opener. He liked it, because he was naturally an early riser and opening meant more time after work to get shit done. But she had begged, and she was his best friend, so even though taking her closing shift messed with his whole routine, he agreed to swap. Plus, it meant he would have all of New Year’s Eve off, and that was pretty cool too.
It also meant accidentally finding out where Eddie worked.
Steve lived close enough to the cafe to walk there, and the walk took him past places that were usually still closed when he came in in the mornings. Antique store, jeweler, boutique, boutique, hair salon, tattoo parlor…
Steve took a couple steps back and looked in the front window of the tattoo place. Eddie happened to look up from whatever he was doing at that exact moment and gave him a confused sort of look. Steve just smiled and gave Eddie a small wave before going back on his way.
Well, it could’ve been more awkward.

‘You’re being too touchy idiot stop!’
Physical touch - ‘expressing and receiving affection through touch, physical closeness, and other forms of physical connection’
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
「 I feel like he’d be extremely touching and teasing in anyway possible ?!?! Like he’d love to bite you,hug you, grab you at random times during the day yk?. 」
. (Biting and overall just Dazai being Dazai!! Short and sweet !!)
. ☆・.❕
Tumblr media
Dazai is touchy and a huge tease, especially when it’s with you. Everyone had said he’d do a lot of touching but for the most part it’s playful and doesn’t go past that, you’d known Dazai for a minute now and he’d been touchy but it seemed to get a little more intimate as time went on, you two had established your relationship as really good close friends and from your knowledge it’s not unusual for friends to be touchy, right?
In your office at the Ada it’d just been you two, Kunikida had been out with Atsushi and Kyouka to do some stuff and everyone else was just doing their own thing. You’d been doing something on the computer when a certain brown haired boyhad came behind you and rested his face fairly close to your neck
“Hiii Y/n, whatcha doing?”
His voice was soft and held its usual playful tone, you just gave a sigh still typing on your computer
“Something for the Ada, Kunikida had asked me to do, I figured I’d do it now since it would probably take a minute and I didn’t really have anything to do”
You felt him shift behind you and he pushed you slightly off your chair before lifting you back, practically sitting on his lap as his face was burried into your neck.
it was a usual occurrence so you didn’t mind, not until you felt his lips touch your neck as he opened his mouth and softly bit you on your neck, and then he pulled away. You wanted to question him but you didn’t say anything.
Feeling his hands snake onto your lap, lightly placed onto your thighs as he gave a squeeze, as you were really trying your best to focus and get this work done for the Ada but he unfortunately wasn’t making this and easier.
He stopped squeezing your thighs and placed one of his hands onto your hip, taking one hand using it to move your shirt to the side exposing your shoulder so he could bite into it, the bite was harder and drew a soft sigh out of you, and then you opened your mouth to speak
“Dazai - stop what you’re doing, I’m trying to focus.”
You said Trying to sound as stern as possible hoping he’d get the message and town it down, instead he just scoffed and bit harder and you let out a yelp, it wasn’t loud but loud enough for him to hear it and he pulled back looking at the mark he’d left.
“Look how pretty this mark is, it compliments you so well Y/n, you’re skins so soft and sweet too”
He put his soft lips onto the skin kissing the mark before he’d pulled your shirt back covering the mark and rested his head back against your shoulder, watching you work for a second before deciding what you were doing didnt peak his interest and he’d just fallen asleep on your shoulder.
Still a little stunned and the bite stung a bit but you just smiled and decided that was a problem for later- not like anyone could exactly see it so it wasn’t too bad, least he had the decency to make it to where people couldn’t see it? At least until you’d check a mirror and realize he left 2 and the first one was far more noticeable.

maybe a george x grumpy! reader who never really smiles or shows emotion and George kinds makes it his secret mission to do that
Come on I see that smile!
Tumblr media
Character: George Karim x Fem!Reader
Type: fluff
Length: 1.7K Words
Summary: Ever since you got to Portland row all it has been is neutral faces, anger and frowns. But George seems to be curious about what your smile looks like… for research purposes of course!
Trope: Grumpy x Sunshine (sorta)
A/n: Sorry if this is bad I've been trying to get back into writing btw maybe a tad bit of ooc George? Anyways this is a mix of second and first-person. Lmao lastly the format and like the 4 and 1 idea came from this fic so go check it out!
4 tries and 1 unintentional victory
Baked goods
Large raindrops pattered against the kitchen window of 35 Portland Row, creating a relaxing rhythm. I sprawled out articles and other various newspapers across the table. There wasn't much information on this house, no visitors had been reported before this caller. No murder cases from that house or interesting behaviors. I jotted down as many notes as I could on a surprisingly clean part of the thinking cloth.
A loud knock echoed through the house. I was too sucked into finding information and suspicious parts about this house to answer the door. Thankfully, I heard someone (most likely George) quickly dash to the door and handled with whatever it was. I assumed it was Arif since it was a quick interaction and the scent was so strong I could already smell it. Damn it smelled good.
George's quick footsteps dashed down to the kitchen, quickly landing the box on an available part of the table. I quickly drew my eyes back to the pages scanning for something remotely helpful. The worst case was going in cold.
"How's the case going?" George came to look at the papers and my progress. His fingers traced my handwriting.
"Not good. There is not a single thing tied to this house. And she said I have to be there in a week." I said with a dry expression. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw George rock back and forth on his heels before he spoke again.
"Well um, I got you extra of your favorite this week." I looked up at him. "If you need to take a break they are there." He offered.
"Thank you I appreciate that." George looked somewhat upset with my reaction. Why? I'm not exactly sure
"Yeah.." He grabbed a chocolate donut from the box and sighed on the way out of the room. I hope he’s okay.
Did I do something wrong?
"Is that a donut??" I heard Lucy call out from the stairs. "I didn't even know we had those!" maybe a break wouldn’t hurt…
2. Stress Cleaning
Sure this was more for George than it was for you but he hoped to kill 2 birds with one stone. He had spent the whole evening cleaning the house. Kitchen, library you name it. He left the bedrooms for last.
He knocked softly on your door and waited for a reply before going up the stairs. There wasn't much to clean in your's and Lucy's shared area besides maybe the windows and a few pieces of clothing needed to be picked up off the ground.
You were reading a book on your bed instead of trying to find more information on that house. You needed a break and your mind was just tired from searching article upon article. You had 3 more days and thought to hell with it I'll just do my best.
"What's up, George?" You peered over your book and at the boy. "Oh." From seeing his apron and blue gloves you already knew he meant cleaning. "You know you don't always have to clean up after us." He shook his head.
"You know cleaning is one of my favorite things right?" He cleaned every single day. Not even kidding. You can't remember the last time you've seen the house jaw-droppingly dirty. Because it never has been. For the many months you’ve been here George has done a fantastic job with keeping the house organized.
"That is true. I do feel bad sometimes." You hummed. "Well thank you." George quirked a small smile but you just nodded in acknowledgment.
Well, it was worth a try. He sighed quietly.
3. Favorite food
He knew as soon as you stepped through the door and slammed it shut, he had made a good decision. Another thing on George's list of "Y/n's smiles" was dinner. Sure food didn't work as well last time this was different.
He heard you curse at something and then throw your rapier into its spot by the door. You took in a deep breath through your nose trying to contain your anger from the trip and not make a lot of noise considering the time but you smelt something. Something so heavenly that's all you needed right now. Food.
You quickly went down the stairs and saw George in his apron Moving around the kitchen.
"Smells great Georgie. It's 3 am you didn't have to." She frowned feeling a bit bad for keeping him up.
"It's really no problem at all." He loved cooking so really it was just fun. "Looks like you had a fun night." She rolled her eyes and groaned. He leaned against a cabinet and glanced at you up and down. Your hair was very messy, traces of ectoplasm was all over your shoes and the bottom of your pants, and you were just really wanting food and a shower.
"Sarcasm. Not now I beg of you. But really the food smells fantastic." A sneaky smile formed on George's lips, not yours though you were far too tired to even think about it.
"Alright. Food's ready anyway." He brought two servings of the food over to the table placing one in front of you and the other across from you. "Do you want to talk about it?" He offered sitting down in front of his food.
"It was awful! The source was in a completely different part of the house than she thought and it was just disastrous!" You complained. He sat there and listened to your troubles like you always did with him.
You finally had a bite of the food and you felt at ease.
“George Casper Karim why can you cook so well?” He smiled downward. You didn’t smile you just had this tired yet calm look on your face.
“I have more talent than just touch.” He joked. She was right though the food did taste amazing.
“Yes you do.” George wasn’t entirely mad at the fact you didn’t smile but he did enjoy the compliment.
4. A New Sweater
George scanned the shelves of your favorite store looking for something you would like. There were plenty of things your style but what caught his eye was a sweater.
Your closet was full of them. Lucy too and so a sweater could be another candidate for his "Y/n's smiles" list.
It wasn’t too thick nor too light because he knew you were sorta picky when it comes to sweaters. And a bonus was it was one of your favorite colours.
He held it in his hands but, he double and even triple-checked the store for something you might like better. But he did not and he went and brought it up to the counter to pay.
The cashier was nice but she had mistaken George as your boyfriend which made him blush furiously and confirm the two of you were just close friends. The cashier didn’t buy it. She gave him a small disbelieving look and he tried to ignore it.
He was impressed by how well she wrapped up the sweater and put it in a really nice bag.
When he came back the house was insanely quiet, mainly because Lockwood was out of the house and Lucy was training in the basement. You had decided to have a lazy day you were mainly just in your bed or in front of your desk.
But he noticed you were making tea in the kitchen so he quietly ran upstairs to put your gift on your bed. And then he snuck back down to his room to wait for your return.
You held a cup in your hand and carefully walked upstairs. You were confused when finding a gift on your bed mainly because no one really gave you gifts out of the blue. A small gasp escaped your lips when you reached into the bag and pulled out a sweater. You held the sweater close. It was the right size it was quite a shocker
You didn't think Lucy even knew your size.
"Surprise." George came back up the stairs. You went and hugged him. He was slightly taken aback by the gesture. He wasn't exactly a hugger but he wrapped his arm around you and squeezed gently.
"Thank you, George. You do so much for me." Again he wasn't exactly angry that it had failed because he's never had a hug that felt this relaxing. He was feeling loved. "Anything." He said simply. You pulled back and ruffled his hair.
"You're too good for me."
George returned to his room and took a pen and struck off another idea on a sticky note above his desk. But he did put a small heart next to it.
5. Quality Time.
"Wanna go the archives with me? Lucy and Lockwood already said no but they were caught up in their own thing." George huffed. You sat up immediately and shoved a bookmark into your book. You cracked a half smile.
"I would love to." You sprung up and grabbed your bag and shoes. "They never want to go with me either." Still, a small smile plastered on your face.
George was shocked in the 3 months he knew you that's all it took? Just going to the archives? He would have groaned if he wasn't so happy for finally making you smile. The look was so unfamiliar on you but he definitely knew he wanted to see it more.
"I don't know why I never asked you." You chuckled softly. That was a complete lie. You didn't want to admit it or make it obvious that you have a raging crush on the other boy while being alone and so very close to him doing what you loved most.
George didn't even think about your comment. A chuckle? George's expectations were exceeded. He thought you would shrug it off and either go and keep to yourself or kindly decline.
"Come on Georgie!" You practically skipped out of the room, brushing past his shoulder and sending a jolt through his body. His heart swelled and he was honestly quite boastful at the moment. If he could shout it at the world he would. He felt like he deserved something for making Y/n L/n smile. But seeing your smile was an award in itself.
George followed her out of the house and down to explore the archives.

"yeah, I got issues, and one of them is how bad I need you."
-  ɪꜱꜱᴜᴇꜱ, ᴊᴜʟɪᴀ ᴍɪᴄʜᴀᴇʟꜱ -
Tumblr media
It only took a few days before everything returned to normal between the couple. No apology was issued, but they continued as if the argument had never happened. That's how things typically were with the two. Arguments would always fade away without them talking any further about it. It wasn't something Kiara particularly enjoyed, but after trying to talk things out, it would only result in restarting the cycle; she settled for his method instead. It kept them both happy in the end, anyway. At least, that's what she thought. The conversation would always sit with her a bit longer than him. So, while he was normal, touching her and smiling, she had to force herself to keep up the facade. It was tiring but a better outcome than arguing all over again.
Kiara stared at her phone while slowly pushing the shopping cart through the aisle. Her arms rested against the cart's bar, leaning against it comfortably as she looked through the notes on her phone. It was chore day, and chore day also meant grocery shopping day. Usually, she would love to take her time through the store and hopefully find some exciting snacks, but she couldn't wait to get home. She was in the middle of her last piece for her latest collection. The blush pinks, baby blues, and teals were so pretty to her, reminding her of babies and how she wanted a family of her own one day. Three bundles of joy and absolute chaos running around made her excited. She sighed softly, straightening out her spine before feeling gentle resistance. Her brows drew together before she felt slight pressure against her backside.
"Taehyung," she sighed despite the small smile forming on her lips. His hand, placed firmly on her hip, kept her in place as they walked.
"Mm, what?" He responded lazily, eyes fixated on the view of her golden skin peeking out from under her cropped hoodie. The black leggings she wore were no help either. The fabric became so thin when she bent over, stretching to accommodate her round ass. He could almost see the outline of her thong.
"What are you doing?"
"Appreciating my girlfriend. What did you think?"
"Oh, I don't know...." She stopped suddenly, halting Taehyung as well. His hips pressed into hers, causing him to bite down on his lower lip briefly. "Someone may think you're trying to start something in public." Taehyung hummed as his mind was far from his current reality, somewhere in a realm where public indecency wouldn't get you fined. He returned back to Earth when Kiara decided to turn around and face him. She tilted her head back, looking up at him as she bit back the smirk that desperately wanted to spread on her lips. "You do know we're in public, right?" The sass that fell from her lips only made Taehyung wish to play more. He rested both of his hands on the cart behind her, essentially caging her in.
If there was one thing she could do all day, it was look at Taehyung. He was so gorgeous. Model worthy. Even as he had his round-framed silver glasses resting on his straight nose, she wanted nothing more than his lips on her.
"Nope," he grinned.
"Dangerous."
"You love it." He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers, causing her to inhale deeply. Her hands rested on his chest before sliding up to meet behind his neck. Warmth spread through Kiara's system despite them being in the freezer aisle. One of his hands left the cart to rest against her back, pulling her in closer.
"Uh, we're gonna need a clean-up on aisle 14." A familiar voice suddenly rang through Kiara's ears, causing her to pull away from her boyfriend. She glanced around before meeting with the owner of the voice, a smile forming on her lips. "It looks like someone wet themselves," Momo teased the girl with a playful smirk.
"You're so lame!" Hoseok heckled while he reached into the freezer, chuckling softly.
"You knew this, and you're still choosing to marry me," Momo stuck her tongue out at the man, who did the same to her. Afterward, she directed her attention to Kiara. "But seriously, you should really get a room." She placed her hand on her chest as she leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. "There are children around!"
"Fuck them kids," Taehyung quickly said as he wrapped his arms around Kiara. He leaned down to rest his chin on her shoulder. "They gotta learn about the birds and the bees somehow."
"Taehyung, you disgust me," Momo scowled. The man winked at her, and Momo recoiled as if he had reached out to touch her. Hoseok then returned, tossing some frozen fruit pops into the cart.
Kiara's eyebrows furrowed as she scanned over the couple's cart. There were some colorful party plates, cups, hats, and napkins. There were also a few bags of chips and liters of various sodas. "You guys having a party or something?" She asked while resting her hands on Taehyung's arms.
"One of our students is turning eight today!" Hoseok beamed as if it was his child.
"She's the absolute cutest, and she's going to go far. Right, Hobi?" Momo added, gleaming as well.
Hoseok quickly nodded. "Yep, AIM has itself its first prodigy."
Taehyung furrowed his brows as he stood up. "AIM? Is that...."
"Art In Motion! The dance studio we work at!" Momo answered. Taehyung made a small o with his mouth, slowly nodding his head.
"It's not like they don't talk about it all the time," Kiara teased, earning a squeeze from him.
"You guys should come in sometime!" Momo said before walking over to one of the freezers. "We teach duets on some days."
Kiara quickly shook her head. "You know damn well I don't dance."
"I know you don't dance sober," Momo side-eyed her, causing the girl to roll her eyes.
"Yeah, I was about to say; I know a certain dance you do, but it's only when you come back from bottomless mimosas," Taehyung grinned, earning an elbow to his rib. "Don't hurt me because I'm right!" The group laughed together before bidding their farewells. Kiara grabbed the cart once more to continue on their shopping adventure.
"So, Tae...," Kiara drawled as she trailed behind the man. He hummed while looking at an item on the shelves, encouraging her to continue. "I was looking at houses out here, which are really expensive. Do we have to move out this year?"
"Do you want that ring?" He responded as he tossed the item into the cart. Her eyes went wide as her heart sunk into her chest. She assumed that was why she wasn't engaged yet, but to have him say it so casually. To have him say it as if it was something she had to earn. She could hear her best friends yelling at her to leave him, to turn around and not look back.
But she loved him.
"Taehyung!" A man suddenly called out, ripping his attention away from Kiara. Both of them turned to look at the interruption. A smile formed on Taehyung's lips while Kiara's eyes narrowed. Directly ahead of them was none other than Jimin. Kiara huffed, trying to pry her eyes away from the man, but she couldn't for some reason, maybe because it was the first time she'd seen him dressed down—sporting a dark purple hoodie with a denim jacket over it and a pair of black sweatpants that slimmed to a cuff around his ankle. His hair looked messy despite him trying to hide it under his hood—fluffy blonde strands sticking out like he had just rolled out of bed and decided not to style it. How could one look just as good dressed down?
"You stalking me, Jimin?" The brunette teased as he went in to hug the man.
"For fucks sake," Kiara sighed before her eyes went wide. Taehyung shot her a warning glare, making her muscles stiffen as she looked down at the linoleum floor. She was usually good at keeping her thoughts to herself.
Jimin looked at Kiara for the first time today, and his eyebrows piqued in interest. Was it wrong to be lusting over a man's girlfriend right in front of him, especially when you're trying to rekindle a relationship with said man? Yes, yes it was. He possessed enough self-control not to react physically but couldn't deny that she looked good. She had an impeccable style. Even when she dressed down, she stole the room. Instead, he feigned an eye roll. He wanted to do nothing but push those buttons of hers and watch her eyes be set ablaze with fire. But he wouldn't be able to handle that switch to fondness whenever she eventually looked at Taehyung, at least not today. He peeled his eyes away from the girl to look at the brunette, a warm smile forming on his lips. "Isn't it funny how small the world becomes after bumping into each other once?"
"Oh, it's hilarious," Kiara mumbled quietly this time, sarcasm dripping from her words. Boy, she wasn't making it easy for Jimin. He had a thousand and one remarks for her sassy little quip, but he'll save those for another day.
The two men proceeded to catch up while Kiara focused on anything besides the blonde before her. Honestly, what were the odds? There are a million different grocery stores on Long Island alone, and this is the one he chooses? It hasn't even been a week since their little dinner encounter. The universe wanted to see some drama in her life as if she didn't have enough. What the universe needed to do was send signs to the tall blockhead so she could get proposed to before selling her soul for a house.
As much as she loved that Taehyung was reconnecting and making new friends, she didn't want to spend another second in this vicinity. Jimin's aura was sickeningly addictive. He oozed charisma, and it pissed her off that she wanted to have a conversation with him, to be included. She stared at the back of Taehyung's head, eyes sensing daggers in hopes he turned around. Instead, her amber eyes locked with the blonde's. His eyes flickered up and down subtly before a mischievous smirk tugged at the corner of his plump lips. He looked away, assumingly giving Taehyung his full attention once again. Kiara's brows furrowed. What was that look for? Did he think he had a one-up on her?
Enough was enough.
Kiara stepped forward, nudging Taehyung with the cart. He suddenly stopped talking, pausing momentarily before looking at her. "Babe, can we go? I'm getting a little tired." She lied through her teeth, her voice as sweet as candy. She had to pull out all the cards to pull Taehyung away from this so-called friend. What if Jimin was using Taehyung now to get some sick inside scoop on her? She couldn't have that.
"In a minute, I just want to smooth out these details for the next guys night." His voice was colder than the freezer aisle they were just in. He turned back around, fully facing Jimin again.
She sighed in defeat. She knew Taehyung meant no harm, but each second near Jimin felt like an hour. Kiara had no idea what this man was capable of, and that devilish, slick tongue only made things worse. She quickly glanced away, hoping to find anything she could fiddle with as a minor distraction. Touching random food items seemed too obvious, so she opted for her cell phone. She pulled it out, sending a quick text to the group chat.
Kiara: guess who just pulled up to your local grocery store Kiara: it's your favorite person kookie Jeongguk: JUSTIN BIEBER??? Jeongguk: drop the address NOW Samira: you're an idiot
Kiara pressed her lips in a line, holding back a smile.
Kiara: no it's the blonde from the coffee shop Kiara: I hate it here Jeongguk: do me a favor and throw your shoe at him Jeongguk: specifically the left one Jeongguk: the right one won't do Samira: I second Samira: why the left one tho Jeongguk: so he'll be surprised when I get him with this right hook
Kiara burst into a quiet fit of laughter, using her hand to cover her mouth. She loved her best friends dearly. While she giggled, Taehyung's and Jimin's ears perked up like a dog hearing the word walk, although both for different reasons.
Taehyung couldn't help but glance at his partner, seeing a wide grin on her lips as her fingers typed away on her phone. Something flared up inside of him, triggering him. It was the same feeling he had from the other night. He couldn't run away this time, so he had to sit with the heavy feeling in his chest and tensed muscles.
Jimin also looked, but he felt something in his chest from the sight. Something warm. Something that made him want to spread his lips and mimic that smile. He couldn't put his finger on it and didn't think he wanted to. He couldn't have that. It felt familiar, and familiarity needed to stay in a locked box in the deepest corner of his mind. Despite it, his eyes twinkled as a mischievous smirk played on his lips. He returned his gaze to Taehyung. "You know, one of my friends is having a game night later in the week. You should definitely come through."
Taehyung's met his eyes, and he pushed down whatever feeling was bubbling in his chest as he smiled at the man. "Definitely! That sounds like fun!"
Kiara was too busy giggling at the messages she received to pay attention to the plans that were made aloud. It wasn't until she felt eyes on her. It made her uneasy, a chill running down her spine as she looked up. Jimin's evil eyes met hers.
"You should bring Kiara along too," Jimin suggested while his eyes remained glued to the girl.
Kiara glared at the blonde. "I would rather jump off the Manhattan Bridge."
Taehyung's eyes went wide, shooting her a look. That look. Kiara couldn't help but cringe, feeling herself shrink into her shoes as she looked down at the ground.
"She'd love to come," Taehyung responded, returning his gaze to Jimin. "We'll be there."
Kiara's head shot up, sending daggers into the back of Taehyung's head. If looks could kill, both men would be casualties right now.
Jimin grinned at the other. "Great! I'll see you then!"
As they bid their farewells, Kiara subtly flipped the blonde off. All Jimin did was smirk playfully, winking at her in response. The girl shivered with disgust.
After he left, the couple was silent for the rest of their trip. Kiara couldn't understand why Taehyung would think she would want to attend any event with Jimin. She ranted to the man about their horrible first impression and how he ruined her favorite hoodie. Kiara didn't want to fake nice for hours on end; one, it was draining as hell, and two, that prick didn't deserve it. They paid and exited the grocery store. A cloak of silence wrapped around them dropped once they approached Kiara's car. She huffed quietly, almost shaking her head out of pure disbelief.
"I thought you couldn't stand him," she grumbled.
"I thought you wanted me to make more friends," he countered.
Kiara rolled her eyes, sighing softly as she regretted giving him that push. "I don't want to go to this thing, Tae," she admitted. "I don't even know why he invited me. He's your friend."
"Why can't he be our friend?" He asked while looking at the girl, meeting her eyes.
"I'm not friends with people who don't like me," she deadpanned. She started packing the groceries into the car, exceptionally cautiously placing the bags. She would hate if something got smushed or broken because she grew annoyed.
Taehyung watched as she did so, arms folding over his chest as he leaned against the car. "You don't know that."
"I'm pretty sure you don't call the people you like selfish."
Taehyung shrugged casually, "You got off on the wrong foot, so what? You don't think you could push past that or at least pretend to for me?"
Kiara froze briefly, pressing her lips together as she thought. It's for Taehyung. She would suffer a ten-hour flight full of crying babies for this man, but Jimin was just slightly more insufferable than that. She stopped loading the groceries to look at him. As she opened her mouth to answer, a text notification emitted from her pocket. She wasn't going to look at it, already knowing who it was, but she watched as Taehyung's demeanor changed. The corners of his lips pulled into a frown. He tensed as his eyes narrowed into slits. Before she could even process what was happening, he opened his mouth. All at once, he remembered why he fell silent earlier.
"Give me your phone."
"What?" She chuckled, completely bewildered. He had to be joking. Just two seconds ago, he asked her to play nice, and now this?
"I'm not gonna repeat myself." He held his large hand towards her, like a parent demanding something of their child.
She chuckled again, this time wholly filled with nerves. She instinctively gripped her phone in her hoodie pocket to protect him from the device. "Are you kidding? I'm not giving you my phone."
His eyes narrowed at the shorter girl, letting his hand fall back to his side. "Why? You got something to hide?" Kiara shook her head, opening her mouth to say something, but was promptly cut off. "I saw the way you were smiling at your phone earlier. You got some nasty shit from Jeongguk, huh?"
"What?" Her eyes widen for a moment before narrowing at her partner. "What the fuck are you on about?" Kiara tried keeping herself calm, paying close attention to the tone of her voice, but she thought the days when she had to defend the relationship with her best friend were over.
"Give me your fucking phone, Kiara!" He yelled. The bass in his voice startled her, depth moving straight to her heart and increasing the beat suddenly. She jerked as if someone hit her. Adrenaline coursed through her veins as her breathing quickened. It happened all in an instant. She pulled out her phone and handed it to him without a thought. It was like her body was suddenly on autopilot.
He snatched the device from her, unlocking it without an issue. "I swear to god I do so much for you, for this fucking relationship, just for you to go behind my back and—" As he went through the text history with Jeongguk, all he saw was various memes from inside jokes, opinions of art going back and forth, and the occasional double text. Taehyung's jaw hung loosely briefly before quickly biting his lower lip. He even checked their group chat, but there was nothing besides Samira asking for help with Momo's wedding and the conversation he assumed she was laughing about. No, he couldn't be wrong. He knew what he saw. That smile.... There's no way he could've been wrong. There had to be something, anything, to prove her infidelity.
But there was nothing.
Taehyung locked Kiara's phone as the silence sat on them like a bag of bricks. He slowly looked at the girl, seeing tears brimming in her warm eyes of amber. Shit, he thought to himself. She was shivering, and he was sure it wasn't from the cold weather. Her chest was heaving like she just finished running a marathon.
"Ki...," his voice softened, barely above a whisper.
"No," she whimpered right before her throat decided to shut. Tears fell from her eyes, rolling down her cheeks. She turned from him, loading up the rest of the car with haste. She tried not to make a sound apart from the occasional whimper that slipped past her trembling lips.
Taehyung sighed quietly, chewing on the inside of his cheek as he watched her. "Kiara, please...," he pleaded as she stood upright. She ignored him, walking the cart back to its slot. When she returned, she had all intention of heading straight to the driver's side, but Taehyung's hand wrapping around her wrist stopped her.
She sniffled as she turned to face him. Kiara yanked her wrist from his hand, causing him to sigh. "When is this gonna stop?" She asked as she wiped her wet face with the sleeves of her hoodie. "When will you finally trust me enough to know I wouldn't ever step out on you?" Taehyung pressed his lips together, staring down at the girl. "I fucking love you, Tae, with every fiber of my being. I've loved you for years! But...," the girl trailed off, looking up at the night sky. She couldn't stop the tears, no matter how much she wanted to. Just thinking of the words hurt her.
Taehyung reached for her again, pulling her into his chest. He held her tightly in an embrace while she sobbed into his chest. "I'm sorry," he whispered as his hands rubbed her back soothingly. Kiara's cries slowed to a stop. "I'm so sorry. I..., I just get jealous sometimes. I think you'll leave me because I've never seen a bond like you and JK's. I feel like he's in love with you."
"He's my best friend," she mumbled before pulling away from the man. She wiped her nose as she stared down at the ground. "He does love me, but not in the way you love me." She rubbed her eyes once more before looking up at him. The whites of her eyes were now red. Taehyung couldn't help but frown, using his thumb to wipe the remaining tears. She flinched from his touch, looking away from him. "But that isn't an excuse to treat me like that." She took a step back from him. Her warmth left him with the winter cold. "So this jealousy stuff has to stop now."
Taehyung nodded his head quickly. "I'm sorry, I'll try harder." He reached out for her again, and she didn't pull away. He gently stroked her cheek with his thumb while Kiara inhaled deeply, leaning into his touch. "I will be better."
She let out a shaky breath before throwing herself into the man. She pressed her face into his chest, feeling the vibrations from his body as he chuckled. "So, about that game night...." She hummed, waiting for him to continue. "Will you try for me?"
She pulled away enough to look up at him, her warm eyes making his heart skip a beat. "I'll try."

The fire crackled back to life as you placed another log on top of the dying embers, licking greedily at the wood. Sansa tore her eyes away from the fabric across her lap, watching as the warm amber glow of the fire bathed your features in honey-hued luminescence. Sharp shadows drew over your face, and stretched even further when you turned to her, a soft smile etched onto your lips.
“How are you getting along with that dress, Sansa?”
She blinked, looking back down at her work laid out over her knees, and she began working on the stitches once more. “Not bad. Though, I’m not so sure this color suits me very much.”
You strode away from the fire and sank down into the chair beside her, glancing at the deep emerald of the cloth. “I think it looks wonderful. Brings out your eyes.”
A flustered blush stained her skin with a kiss of wine, and she downcast her gaze back to her craft bashfully, opting to remain humbly silent.
With one last easy smile, you cracked open the book you had placed to the side to stoke the fire, easing into the seat with a pleasant hum.
Sansa stole quick looks at your side profile, her heart thrumming within her chest with every peek. The elated rush your compliment gave her made Sansa work on the dress twice as fast, her fingers moving so quickly it was a wonder she didn’t accidentally poke herself with the needle.
“What’s the dress for, anyway?” you asked idly, flipping the page.
“Just something pretty to wear,” she replied, her teeth softly digging into the flesh of her bottom lip. Hesitantly, she spoke again, this time more timidly, “Do you want to be married, Y/N?”
There was a beat of silence, and Sansa could feel the dread and regret wind itself around her stomach. You blinked in surprise, tearing your gaze away from the book and up to the flame-headed girl beside you.
Pursing your lips, you gave her question another second of thought, before shrugging aimlessly. “I mean, I’m not particularly looking for marriage at the moment. I’m perfectly content as I am right now.”
Before Sansa could stop herself, she launched into a tirade of defensive questions. “But don’t you ever feel like… things could be better? Like you’ll meet the right person one day and everything would just—fall right into place? Doesn’t it feel like a piece of you is missing?”
You arched a brow her way. “If you think someone is going to fix all your problems by marrying you, you’d be sorely mistaken. In fact, I’m nearly certain you’ll only have more troubling you once you get married.”
Heat flushed her skin and she opened and closed her mouth in search of a response. None came to her. Instead, she leaned back in her chair with a sour pout to her rosy lips, going back to her stitching.
“I just think it’d be nice, is all…” she mumbled. “I see my mother and father and how much they love each other and I just can’t help but want that for myself. I want to love someone like that.”
You hummed in understanding, dipping your eyes back down to your book. “I’m not opposed to marriage. If it happens, then it happens, but I won’t go and look for it because I’m happy as I am. I think there’s a wildly inaccurate expectation to love—it’s not all gallant knights on horses, or rescuing princesses from high towers. Love needn’t be a statement or a grand gesture, Sansa. Sometimes love is just there, and that’s enough.”
Sansa contemplated your words, screwing her lips together in thought. She certainly felt singled out, and she was rather embarrassed about her naivety about such a salient topic such as love.
With one last shameful glance to you, she returned to working on her dress.
Tumblr media
Snowflakes danced about her hair, a pristine white amongst the flame-hued strands. You kicked at the weightless frost with your boots, a laugh on the tip of your tongue.
You were smiling so very wide, and Sansa couldn’t help but mirror your enthusiasm.
“Stop!” she squealed as she tried to trod away from you and your mischievous grin. “Don’t throw that at me—you’ll get my dress wet!”
Her pleads fell upon deaf ears, and you cocked your hand back, a loosely clumped ball of snow landing smack against her abdomen.
Sansa would’ve been mad, at least she thinks she would’ve been, but the way you threw your head back in pure joy seemed to quell her initial anger—your gleeful disposition was highly contagious. After all, the snow would dry eventually.
Without thinking, she scooped up some of the icy frost laying on top of the grass, chucking it in your direction. The snow splattered across your face and your expression faltered for a second. Sansa hesitated, wondering for a brief moment if she had crossed a line.
Then you smiled, and her worries melted away, like the snow on your heated face.
“I deserve that,” you said, stepping closer to her. The girl held her breath as you drew nearer, only inches away from her, and gently wiped a stray clump of snow on her cheek. Your fingers, surprisingly warm against the frigid skin of her jaw, moved down her face and cupped her chin. The blue of her irises darted from your own hooded eyes to your lips—she could feel her face reddening.
Something tugged within her gut. She felt as if she was doing something wrong.
“You’ve got a twig in your hair,” Sansa pointed out, breath falling away from her lungs.
She couldn’t tell whether it was relief or disappointment that flooded over her once you stepped away to rifle through your already-messy hair, pulling out the cold stick with a chortle.
“Come on,” you said, snapping her out of her reverie. “We mustn’t stay out too late—wouldn’t want Winterfell’s most spoiled little brat to catch a cold.”
Sansa would’ve been affronted that you called her spoiled (which she was, she just didn’t like you saying it), but the roguish smile you flashed her made her heart plummet straight to her stomach and she her shut her mouth tightly, afraid of what would come out if she opened them.
Tumblr media
The fabric itched.
After hours upon hours of sewing together the dress—she had finally worked herself into trying it on.
And it itched.
Sansa could already feel the tears welling up behind her eyes. Her throat felt swollen.
There was a knock at her door. She balled her fists up, before releasing a deep breath, hoping her face wouldn’t give away her telltale frustration.
It was your beaming, easy-going face that greeted her. Almost instantly, Sansa could feel herself relax. She pulled her bedroom door open wider to let you in, and you slid by her with a quick kiss to her cheek. You smelled of Winterfell’s forest—of home.
If she wasn’t blushing up a storm before, she certainly was now.
Only once you were inside, did she notice that you held a rather bountiful bunch of flowers in one of your hands. They were coiled together by the stems with a thin rope, tied into a neat bow. The flowers themselves, smelling wonderfully fresh, were a brilliant shade of lavender, the petals bulbous and elegant in nature.
“What are those for?” she queried, clueless.
You rolled your eyes with a snort, before realizing that she was genuinely in the dark. “For you, love. Obviously, for you. I wouldn’t show up to your door with wrapped flowers and hand them to the next person I see.”
“They’re…” The words felt heavy on Sansa’s tongue. “They’re for me?”
“Of course.” You smiled toothily, and the ginger could feel her heart turning into sand—spilling through the gaps of her ribcage and making a mess all over the floor. “I found them during a walk—sprouted right through the harsh snows of Winterfell. Reminded me of you.”
Words like those should’ve made her happier beyond measure.
Strangely, instead, they just made her want to cry more. But she wasn’t exactly sad, was she? Were they happy tears?
Your jubilant expression began to falter as her shoulders began to shake, stifling small sobs. The flowers were gently placed by the edge of her mattress and you placed a hand on her forearm, pulling her closer.
“You don’t have to tell me what’s wrong,” you said to her as you pulled Sansa into a warm embrace. “Just know that I’m here to listen if you do.”
“You were right,” she sobbed, her tears spilling over her warm cheeks and onto your cold tunic.
“I often am,” came your tentative reply, “but it usually doesn’t bring people to tears. What exactly was I right about?”
“Love needn’t be gallant knights on horses o-or grand gestures… it could just be this. It could just be you.”
Oh.
You thought about her words for a second longer.
Oh.
“Gods, Sansa, it took you long enough.”
She blinked at you with confused, watery doe-eyes. You gently cupped her face, brushing her tears away with the pads of your thumbs, then leaned forward to slant your lips over her heated forehead.
“I love you. Ever since we were little children—I looked up at you and thought ‘Why, what a spoiled brat. I must simply become her best friend’. Which, transformed without me realizing over time, into romantic love.”
“Why didn’t… why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because!” you exclaimed, with a teasingly exhausted tone. “Because, for the longest time, love was only that to you. Love was a gallant knight or a prince of gold. I am neither of those. I am only me—and I didn’t think you’d ever be interested in the likes of me. Don’t you see, Sansa? I just wanted you to be happy.”
She could feel her heart splintering into two. “I know better now—I don’t need that kind of love anymore. I can be happy with you. Just you, and only you. I’m sorry I didn’t realize it sooner.”
You regarded her with such affection that it was nearly catastrophic for her heart. “Sansa, my dear Sansa. Are you sure you’d be happy with me? With a love that is not loud, as you used to want it to be? Would it truly be enough for you?”
“Yes,” she replied, winding her fingers through yours and holding them up to her chest. “Yes, that would be enough.”
And she kissed you. It was sweet and chaste, and tasted of raspberries. She ached for more.
“If it’s enough for the spoiled brat, then that’s more than enough for me,” you whispered against her lips, before grinning like a fool and kissing her once again.

Brains & Brawn- Chapter 2: The Deal
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“My life is so miserable now. Somehow this is all your fault.” was the first thing you said when you found Niragi. He jinxed the meeting for you after all.
“Ow!” Niragi jumped back when you hit him with your rifle on his shoulder.
“—and now they’ve moved an extra bed into my room, Niragi. Can you believe it?”
Niragi tried to hide his laughter, but was unsuccessful. You hit him again.
“I can’t believe you’re finding this funny! Get back here!” Niragi had to duck to avoid you as you continued your meltdown.
“What are you bitching about? Would you rather share a bed with Chishiya?” Niragi said, pausing. “You know, that wouldn’t be so bad for you actually. He looks decent and you need a lay.”
Chishiya certainly was attractive, but that didn’t stop you from shuddering at Niragi’s suggestion. Did he really think of you that way? “One night stands are your thing, Niragi.”
“Suit yourself. But you know…” Niragi leaned in close to your ear to speak. “You could always stay in my room with me.”
“Oh, screw off,” You raised the rifle like you were going to swing, but instead brushed past Niragi as he jumped back.
“The offer still stands!” he yelled.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You had been avoiding your room once Hatter had given you your new roommate. You went out to practice your aim constantly at the militant target area, improving your consistency faster than ever. You worked on your fitness at the Beach’s gym, and hung around the sauna constantly.
The few times you stopped by your room to make sure Chishiya hadn’t stolen anything, you never saw him. It still didn’t stop you from staying away from the awkwardness of the room.
One day, you went to your room to change your swimwear. You would think that you would have an exception to the silly rule as a militant, but Hatter insisted that it would be unfair if you were the only woman who had an exception. ‘Can’t be playing favorites now, hm?’
You usually wore all-white cover-up sets with swim tops, and shorts or skirts depending on the day. You didn’t particularly mind the swimwear, because it didn’t restrict your movement at all and Hatter allowed you to keep the holster on your belt at the Beach.
You stood facing your closet and carelessly pulled off your current top, to switch it for a new one when you heard the door open. You quickly pulled the top down and whipped around, drawing the handgun you always carried on you. Only Beach executives could leave their doors locked.
You slinked around the corner and had the gun to the intruder’s head in a matter of seconds.
“Woah, woah there. That’s no way to treat the Beach’s number 9 is it?”
You dropped the gun immediately. How could you have forgotten that Chishiya also had a key?
“You’re not the number 9,” you replied.
“Not yet,” he hummed. Chishiya drew his gaze to the wall of guns you had. “Does Hatter know about that?”
“Maybe,” you said nervously. You had approval to bring in guns, but you weren’t sure that Hatter would approve of your colorful display.
“I could always go talk to Hatter about our living arrangement. Maybe I’d mention offhandedly the assortment of weapons you have here.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” you said, cocking your handgun.
“Would I?” You wanted to wipe the smug look off Chishiya’s face by threatening him, but he didn’t budge.
“Anyways, I wanted to talk with you about this recent development,” Chishiya gestured at the wall of weapons. “I’m willing to make a deal with you.”
“What sort of deal? I don’t make deals with devils” You narrowed your eyes suspiciously at him, and squeezed the base of the gun for reassurance.
“Teach me how to use this.” Your eyes widened as Chishiya drew out a handgun that he’d been holding behind his back for the duration of your conversation.
“W-Where did you get that?” you stuttered, too shocked to care about your voice breaking. Chishiya wasn’t a militant, yet somehow he had a gun. You realized far too late you underestimated him at Hatter’s meeting.
“That’s none of your concern. What is your concern is Hatter and that flashy showcase of weapons you got there. I could walk to him right now–”
“I could also report you for that gun,” you interrupted, seeing the obvious flaw in his plan.
Chishiya laughed, and your puzzled expression made him laugh even harder. He sounded insincere which put you on edge.
“Let’s see who can hide their secrets better, then. I can easily get rid of this gun. But you have multiple rifles, automatics, and semi-automatics–”
“Alright, I get it. I’ll teach you how to use that pitiable gun so you don’t sell me out,” you cut off Chishiya again before he could continue degrading you and put your gun back in the holster.
“Perfect. We should set a time for meeting during the week. Do Tuesday afternoons work for you?”
“Yes, as long as I don’t have a game that day. Do you know where the militant training ground is?” you asked Chishiya. He looked mildly surprised by what you just said, and shook his head in response.
“Then meet me here Tuesdays, and I’ll show you.” You grabbed the cover-up that was now thrown on the floor and pulled it on hastily. You made a move to leave but then paused, a thought suddenly coming to you.
“Why haven’t you been staying here? I’ve never seen you here before.”
“Ah,” Chishiya appeared faintly disappointed. “I was preparing my things. Were you missing me?”
“Fat chance,” you stepped around him and slammed the door behind you. You thought that you heard Chishiya say something in reply, but you didn’t stop to check.

revolve around you
inumaki x reader for @https-true-egoist's "love me not" collab
cw: fluff, classmates to lovers, gn reader, 0.7k words
Tumblr media
The worst part of attending Jujutsu Tech High School was easily the general academics. It was a specialized school, and with the students spending so much time running from place to place fighting curses, there was really no time for the studies of a typical high schooler.
That's where you came in: academically inclined (at least, more so than your peers) and willing to lend a helping hand where your underqualified teachers failed.
Today's task, teaching Inumaki the lovely mess that is solids of revolution. In your mind, they're not that bad... until they are.
You use your pencil to trace over the haphazard graph you drew on the paper - "So, basically, it's just a bunch of circles. We know how to do circles. All we need is the radius, and we get that by looking at our y-values and their distance from the line we're rotating it around."
Inumaki nods, scribbling down a few things on his paper, then showing you the work. His handwriting is impeccable, and he seems to understand thus far. Outer radius: sinx+1 ; Inner radius: cosx + 1
"Yeah, that's right, so then we make our area formulas."
Inumaki writes down the formulas. You give him a nod in approval, then continue.
"And once we've got that, all we have to do is integrate and plug it into a calculator. I'll let you do that?" Inumaki gives you a nod, beginning to push the buttons on his calculator. You, having noted down the answer on your own homework, take the moment to admire him.
He's beautifully focused on the task at hand, lovely lavender eyes flitting between his handwritten work and the computing machine in his hand. Though he was never the best in mathematics, he was determined, and that made him easily your favorite to work with. Hell, he was probably your favorite of all the second years, a beautiful balance of playful and sincere. And oh so beautiful.
"Tuna?" He asks, prodding your hand. On his paper is a large boxed answer, 29.608. Not the answer you had written down.
You do a double take at the work on your own page - your final answer reading 17.771. Despite the conflicting answers, the work on his paper reads exactly the same as yours. Strange. "Uh... that's not what I got... but your integral looks good so maybe one of us plugged something in wrong? Let me try again."
When you pick up your calculator, you don't plug in numbers. Instead of the integral function, you click alpha-lock.
"Here, I think this is how it's supposed to be."
When you show him your calculator, written on the screen in place of an equation is a simple phrase.
Will you go out with me
The silver-haired boy in front of you immediately perks up. Any tiredness that came along with math was banished from his body, eyes sparkling as he picked up his own calculator with a grin.
Salmon!
Though he stays silent, you can practically hear his exclamation, the factorial symbol giving it adorable energy. You know he can type out words just fine, but the usage of his onigiri language makes you crack a grin. It's just so very him. And the fact that he returns your feelings has your heart reeling.
He beams at you, making a little heart with his hands, and you beam right back.
"You're so cute, you know that?" You ask with a little laugh, cheeks warming because he's just so lovable.
He makes a face of pondering, before nodding. "Salmon!"
For just a moment you forget your math homework, the test coming up, and the early February chill in the room. Because you've got yourself a personal little sun, a sparkling boy that speaks in foods and would defend you to the death.
"C'mon, I think we've done enough math for one day. Let's go get something warm to drink," You suggest, more than ready to put the subject behind you. There's something far better you could be doing with your time anyways - a date with Toge. A proper date.
"TUNA!" He cries triumphantly, before neatening up his papers and stuffing them into his bag.
It's unreal to you that you're about to go out with Inumaki. Spending time with all your classmates is one thing, but together? Just the two of you? And romantically? You dreamed about it, sure, but never thought it'd happen.
And little do you know, Toge's thinking the same thing - how could he have been so lucky as to land a treasure like you?
Tumblr media
if this does well before the 14th i'll write a part two with the date itself :3

Happy 2000-- er... 2400 followers! I suppose this is what I get for overestimating how long it would take me to do two full bodies and 14 busts which I wound up cropping anyway lol.
Bonus commentary under the cut!
Link to the version with no commentary (x)
So first off, this was a considerable challenge for me since I don't normally draw in an anime style, and I think that shows. There were a lot of wonky proportions that I ended up having to go back and sort of fix in post. Irida, Rei, and Akari were especially bad-- my own sister told me that Rei looked like "a cross between a Victorian orphan and a frog". I decided to redraw all three of them, but since I drew them on a smaller canvas, I think it messed with the resolution a little when I shrank them down. I'm not sure anyone would notice if they weren't looking for it, but I've been staring at this for so long that I can't unsee it.
Next was the brilliant decision to put Emmet, Elesa, and Drayden on a light background. They initially faded right in, so I went back over some of the outlines to make them more readable; I had also tried putting the whole Unova set on a darker background, but found that it drew too much attention and unbalanced the piece.
On to the good things!
I adore how Melli and Zisu turned out. I don't know what it was, but my art game was on point that day.
I also had a lot of fun trying out different motifs. I knew from the outset that I wanted to play around with the duality of black/white, the duality of past/future, and the idea of making the whole disk resemble a PokéBall. The center design had me stumped for a while; I had initially used screenshots of the Highlands and Gear Station as placeholders during my planning stage, but around halfway through I decided that would be too busy and changed it to a simple railway track design instead. Then I decided I didn't like that either, and at the last minute I went back to a simplified version of my original concept. I think the stylized Coronet mountain range and subway train work nicely.
Other trivia:
During my planning phase, I used everyone's official art as placeholders-- except for Zisu, who for some reason I couldn't find any for. I used a screenshot for her placeholder, and referenced her TCG card for the final drawing.
Emmet being the only character drawn from a head on angle was deliberate. I wanted to subtly highlight his importance while still being able to place a key Pokémon in the center of both groups.
I drew all of my initial sketches on paper, lined and colored in Clip Studio, and compiled/edited everything in GIMP. I am a chaos gremlin and I will not apologize.
The reason I settled on a Station of Awakening as a follower celebration is threefold: The first is that I was hanging out with some good friends, and we wound up playing Melody of Memory. I forget exactly how it came up, but it was definitely a joke at the time as I do recall saying that it would take me forever... which it did, lol. The second reason is that I later realized that my first post on the blog (after the original "Ingo shouldn't be in old timey Hisui" (x) post) was Kingdom Hearts themed (x). The circle of stupidity is complete! And finally, I'm old enough to remember when making one of these for your blorbo was The Big Fandom Thing ™ that everyone did, and I wanted to indulge in a bit of nostalgia.

CHAZ/TOBOR BRO HEADCANONS
omg. so I realised that after I drew Chaz/TOBOR content one time that i haven’t actually shared how important they are to me. erm. so I have made a silly little document of background/headcanons that could have been pages long but I didn’t want to be TOO insane.
also BIG DISCLAIMER the TOBOR headcanons and art at the bottom belong to Chiptoons on Insta/Chipt00ns on Twitter. SHE IS AMAZING and helped me to edit this doc so thank u for ur service chippy. thank you for inventing tobor mysims
They became friends because we were friends and it was like dragging our children along to a function and being like “ok now go play w the other kids” lol. lmao.
We both have OCs x canon with the robots so that's pretty much where it all started from- I probably won’t do a whole timeline at least for now but basically Makoto, Naomi (Louie’s OC) and Vivian (Chippy’s OC) would all spend time together regularly until they started inviting the bohs along
TOBOR was. a bit suspicious of Chaz at first since he had some pretty bad trust issues when it came to humans, and also because that’s usually the normal reaction to meeting Chaz, but he honestly wasn’t super phased by it. Chaz was used to people being kinda cold towards him yet also had a tendency to latch onto them anyway. Even though he spent hours actively trying to annoy him and talk about bike mechanics, which was pretty much just his attempt at being friendly and having fun- the biggest thing for TOBOR was that Chaz would never use the fact that he was a robot against him. Like he would never treat him like any less of a person, to Chaz he literally was just Some cool dude with a green head
Even when they become like Friend friends they still are surprisingly careful around eachothers’ boundaries. Tbh a lot of their relationship is built off things most people wouldn’t expect from them, as in the two scary bitch boys are actually very respectful of eachother and keep secretz and look out for the other n their bffs. It’s not OOC if we make the chars. IDGAF
They actually didn’t think they’d get as close as they did: TOBOR and Chaz essentially see eachother as brothers at this point, since they (mostly through accident) found out they had a surprising amount in common, with the way people kinda assumed stuff about them beforehand and were not the nicest . Chaz considers him one of his best friends bc he is CRINGE and is still constantly out to annoy him but at this point TOBOR just effortlessly shows him up. Chaz also likes to bully him on account of he hearts Vivian and you know what who doesn’t. They both got parental issues too which they also kinda relate to each other with; sometimes there will be stuff between them that they tease eachother for RELENTLESSLY, but if anyone else were to bring it up at all they would be killed within the second. TOBOR tends to stick up for Chaz a lot since he is more naïve and struggles to see when people are actually trying to upset him instead of just being Chaz Haterz for fun. Defending people and having their backs is his love language.
There is also a whole thing in the future with him/Makoto being more closely associated with the Delarosarenas but I don’t want to overshare or b cringe but Kerry literally adores TOBOR and the fact he loves cooking :> he simply IS her new son and she displays interest in hiring him one day. If the lab thing doesn’t work out. Which it is not. Again they r like BROTHERS make no mistake we do not ship them.
Silly little HC list for the fun of it:
Chaz likes to attempt to tackle TOBOR every time he sees him and it always ends in an injury.
TOBOR is secretly very good w Chaz’s younger family members.
TOBOR attempted to teach Travis how to cook for Chaz romantic style. After it all went to shit he informed the Englishman the only way to save it would be to fake his own death.
Chaz’s favourite name for TOBOR is “Flat Head Ass”, closely followed by “Toby”. His bro name for them is “Chobor”. TOBOR is repulsed by every single thing that comes out of his mouth.
TOBOR considers Naomi a little sister. Not super relevant but when Chippy said he probably did I wept. oh how I wept
Toborviv bridal party at Chavis wedding. I may be cringe but I am free.
TOBOR succumbs to the fact he is in love with Vivian. Instead of confessing, he panics and asks Chaz, who has NO electronic experience, to program it out of him. They both damn near die, bro style
TOBOR LETS HIM INFODUMP he is happy that Chaz trusts him ahehe

Whatever the Fuck Benrey Is: Chapter Seventeen: Just a Peek
Chapter One
Previous Chapter
~
‘Aperture’s haunted.’ read Bubby’s text to the group chat several days after he’d left.
Gordon shouldn’t ask because he shouldn’t have even checked his phone and had only done so because it going off had reminded him he hadn’t put it on silent. At work, still sorting through Black Mesa’s recovered hard drives – so far nothing on Benrey had been found – wasn’t the time. But on the other hand… ‘What does that mean?’
It was Benrey who replied. ‘theres ghosts there’
Dr. Coomer’s reply came a second later. ‘It means the Aperture Science facility is inhabited by ghosts and/or demons. Both of whom are known for existing in or sometimes being trapped or bound to specific locations that are then referred to as being ‘haunted’. Sometimes they will also haunt specific people, following them when they move to a new house or just sticking with them throughout the day. One could perhaps say that you were once haunted like this Gordon, when you claimed a skeleton was following you that the rest of us couldn’t see. There are also haunted items, meaning that a ghost/demon is connected to that item.’ How did he type all that so fast? … Probably some cybernetic thing in his hands giving him superhuman texting speed. Gordon was a little jealous, he was used to it now but one-handed texting was still uncomfortably slow.
‘I know what the word haunted means. What I meant was, ‘please explain in what way the Aperture Science facility is supposedly haunted, Bubby’. What drew you to that conclusion?’
‘Should’ve just said that then, dumbass.’ Bubby replied at last. ‘I mean everyone’s dead. I had to break in to even get inside because corpses can’t open doors.’
‘How’d everyone die?’ Tommy asked.
‘I don’t know and I wasn’t sticking around to find out. I think I’m gonna get a job at NASA instead. They’re more ethical so less fun but I want to go to space anyway.’
‘Maybe we should go check out Aperture? They might need help. Like maybe they did a resonance cascade too.’ Gordon didn’t particularly like the thought of going to a place in the middle of something like that but they’d already dealt with one. They’d be more prepared this time too. If Aperture’s got more out of hand it could come back to bite them.
‘I don’t think that’s it. No one was injured and the air smelled bad. Worse than just normal death smell. It made me feel a bit unwell. I think it was poison.’
It would maybe be a good idea to make absolutely sure that whatever it was wouldn’t crawl up out of the facility and do who knows what. Also like with Black Mesa’s disaster, there might be survivors in need of help. And then there was the technology aspect of it. What all Aperture was working on was a mystery but if any of it was anything like some of Black Mesa’s projects, it was some pretty big stuff, potentially capable of making a big impact on the world. Whatever had been on the Borealis had certainly been a pretty big deal before it vanished a couple years ago, bringing Black Mesa’s spies – it had been a big enough deal to draw all three of them in – with it to never be heard from again. An event big enough that it had become the gossip of the whole Black Mesa facility for like a week, ending once and for all the ‘secret’ part of Black Mesa’s spies at Aperture being an open secret.
On the other hand though, it would be dangerous, the drive down there was multiple days and they were kind of in the middle of something right now. Finding Benrey’s files before someone else on the Black Mesa staff did was important. If they left for that long, someone else would take over the sorting job now that it had been started.
‘Maybe we wait for it to clear out a bit more then go investigate. Or just send other people.’ Gordon had a position of power in Black Mesa now, he could use that to his advantage. Aperture being their long term rival would make it justifiable as a company move too. He wouldn’t condone stealing their research but if they were all dead anyway or just as defunct as Black Mesa now was… Or they could maybe merge and become just the one big science tech company that he was trying to not let be super unethical anymore but Breen was still the boss and likely wouldn’t be willing to continue to bend to Gordon’s will as much as he had been for too much longer. They could still potentially do good things though. If they got there anyway. ‘For now, I gotta get back to work.’
His phone beeped again before he set it to silent and put it down but he ignored it. He was a professional. And Tommy and Dr. Coomer were literally in the room with him so if it was either of them had something important to say or relay from Benrey or Bubby, they could just tell him verbally.
~
By some bastion of luck one of the last already recovered hard drives contained the data on Dr. Coomer’s clones. The experiment had started with cloning mice, then rabbits, then monkeys before finally reaching human studies. Given that it was about cloning, Gordon shouldn’t be surprised to encounter the name ‘Harold Coomer’, especially since he’d decided to keep reading instead of moving on because he’d known of Coomer’s clones, but he kind of was anyway. In his defense it was late and they were staying overtime to finish sorting through the rest of the data so he was tired and his brain was a bit fried. Most of Black Mesa’s experiments being interesting didn’t make them not taxing to sort through.
Tearing his gaze off his screen, he looked up at Dr. Coomer sitting at the desk across from him. They hadn’t discussed what to do should any of them find Dr. Coomer or Bubby’s data. Anyone else at Black Mesa seeing it wouldn’t be as much of an issue as they weren’t being kept secret. But it might still contain the kind of info one or both of them didn’t want the friend group knowing. After all it was kind of like looking at medical records, right?
So Gordon should tell Dr. Coomer what he’d found. Maybe even ask him if he wanted the data deleted or stolen to be put solely into his possession the way they planned to do with Benrey’s. It’d be the polite thing to do. …. On the other hand though, Gordon was curious. It was natural to be curious about one’s super-powered friends, right? Since things had settled down, Gordon had made several attempts to talk to Dr. Coomer about his clones and cybernetics but while he always answered questions, he wasn’t often particularly forthcoming on the specifics of how it all worked. So delving a little bit further into his data couldn’t hurt, right? Just a peek, nothing more.
~
A few hours later, Gordon looked back up after having gone over the whole experiment. That was fine though because most of it had been about the clones and what had gone into trying to make each one more powerful than the last – resulting instead in each clone’s death, making the real Dr. Coomer stronger – and not too, too much about Dr. Coomer himself. Other than his literal medical records which Gordon had only skimmed for the scraps of information it had on his cybernetics. Most of which seemed to have been put in after the cloning had been completed as there wasn’t much about them. It was an entirely different experiment done by an entirely different department so it made sense that there wouldn’t be much.
With a sigh, he pushed back from his desk and stood to stretch. It was just him and Dr. Coomer in the office now. Tommy had left to feed Sunkist her dinner. And about an hour ago, after falling asleep on his keyboard, Darnold, had been shooed off to go home and rest. So now would be a good time to tell Dr. Coomer, Gordon had looked through his cloning records. But… it wasn’t that important, was it? Dr. Coomer wouldn’t care so… no need to share. Gordon should just sit back down and move on.
They were almost done, would’ve been done by now if not for Gordon’s distraction but no one needed to know about that. And then as Black Mesa’s members continued pulling stuff out and bringing it here for safe keeping until the far off distant date when the facility was functional again, Gordon and friends could sort through it right as it came in. Benrey’s stuff would show up eventually, no need to go down there themselves. And then Gordon could easily get a peek at it, just a peek, nothing more. He’d skim it to answer just a few questions before giving it to Benrey to do with as he pleased. Yeah, he hadn’t just skimmed Dr. Coomer’s clone stuff but it was less personal anyway, he’d be better with Benrey’s stuff. And then if he was lucky he’d get to peek at Bubby’s records too and possibly Dr. Coomer’s cybernetics stuff as well.
“You got terribly focused on something for a bit there,” Dr. Coomer said as Gordon sat back down. “Did you find something?”
“Uh…” Gordon should tell him. He’d literally asked and it wasn’t that personal so it was fine that Gordon had looked. “Yeah… um… an experiment that was kind of interesting, wanted to know more, got a bit sucked in on accident. We’re almost done though so… yeah, just a bit more.”
“Ooh, what was the experiment?”
“Light sabers, they were trying to make a real one.” Why was Gordon lying? It was fine. Maybe it was a bit weird to have read through the experiment data without letting Dr. Coomer know about it first but not a big deal. “They failed, unfortunately.” He had indeed skimmed through such an experiment earlier so at least he wasn’t making that up too.
“Ah, a shame. I quite liked Star Wars. Perhaps that is an idea we could return to in the near future. For now though, onwards and upwards.”
With a mostly clear conscious, Gordon got back to work. He’d come clean about looking through it later, wouldn’t even have to admit that he’d lied initially. Just causally bring up that he’d come across it and had read through some of it. Not a big deal at all.
***
“It’ll take longer but if we just keep sorting through all the experiment data as it comes in, your stuff, if its intact, is bound to show up eventually.” Gordon had stayed over at work late to finish sorting through the rest of the stuff they already had only to come home with this. “And no one seems suspicious that its just us and Darnold looking through all of it so the risk of someone else seeing it first is relatively low.”
“Yeah but then I don’t get to participate in the heist.” Of course it would’ve been easier if they’d already had his records waiting to be sorted but it also would’ve been more boring. Going and finding them in the facility itself was far more interesting and would give Benrey something to do other than hang out in the basement for a couple hours a day, trying in vain to find any sort of ‘true form’ while the others to did all the real work for him.
Gordon sighed as he resumed heading into kitchen. “Feeling particularly urgent about it?”
Benrey followed, stopping in the doorway. “Uh… guess so, yeah.” Every failed shape shifting session in the basement, though nowhere near as long or arduous as the first, made him more frustrated with the question. “It’s your fault for making me care ‘bout it even though it doesn’t matter.”
Gordon opened the fridge to stare at its insides. A thing he did frequently. Why was it so hard for him to decide what to eat if he was so hungry he had to eat two or three times a day every day? “I suppose it is, huh? But I think it matters. You might not be the only one of your kind, wouldn’t that be cool to know?”
That thought had come to Benrey multiple times since Gordon had first brought it up and refused to completely dissipate no matter how many times he pushed it away. What if he was an alien with a whole alien race out there somewhere and maybe even a family he’d been taken from Though… “If I’m not the only one, there’s a whole bunch of others out there on Xen just like me, what then, huh? You gonna help me reunite with them?” No, of course he wouldn’t. Going back to Xen would be silly after the resonance cascade.
“Uh… maybe. I mean we’d been going into Xen for years just fine. I don’t even know how long, not my department, but longer than I’d been working there for sure. Not sure how we got there the first time but if we did it once we could do it again. And then once we have one means of travel there and back we just need to not fuck around with anymore resonance experiments and it’ll probably be fine.”
It would still be a risk though. And it would certainly be a lot of work just for Benrey. … No, not just for him. Gordon was a scientist, he wanted to study things and see if he could make a portal to Xen happen just to see if he could. That was fine though because it would still be partially for Benrey, even if only a little, and that would be pretty neat. Assuming he was an alien anyway and not made in the lab from ground up alien plants or something.
“So yeah,” Gordon continued as he finally selected last night’s leftovers from the fridge and moved them to the microwave. “If it turns out you’re an alien and if you wanna meet your people or whatever, I’m sure the others will be willing to help see if we can make it happen. It’ll certainly give us something to do, huh? And uh… speaking of that, I guess tomorrow we’ll meet up with the others discuss if we actually wanna make the drive to get your stuff ourselves or if it might be better to just wait.”
That trip really would be just for Benrey’s sake. No one but him would benefit from it but Gordon was seemingly still open to it. He certainly wasn’t shutting it down anyway even though he was right in it not being strictly necessary. … Probably more of him being nice because he was lonely, traumatized, and scared of being alone. Benrey shouldn’t take advantage of that. “I could walk. Long walk though so uh… you’ll have to find someone else to cuddle at night ‘til I get back. Tommy probably wouldn’t, don’t think he likes touching a whole lot, Coomer or Bubby might though. Sunkist don’t like to be held but she might lay on you if you ask nice.”
“Oh, um nah, dude, walking would takes ages. If you really don’t wanna wait, I’ll uh… drive you down there even if the others don’t wanna join us. Don’t worry about it.”
Benrey could insist and maybe even head out right now. Gordon couldn’t stop him. It would maybe even be the right thing to do since this was without a doubt Gordon’s need to please raising up. Encouraging him in it might not be good for him. … Or maybe it would be good for him and help him eventually get better about it. Benrey barely knew how his own mind and emotions worked, anyone else’s, especially a human’s, was beyond him.
Also it was a very long walk just to get to the facility and then another not as long but still long walk from there to get to the part that his data was housed in. And then all the way back doubled both. The second long walk was inevitable either way as the trams no longer worked but it’d be less boring with company – even if said company would also mean he wouldn’t be cutting as many corners – especially when cutting out the long, lonely boring first part of the trip. So… “Okay. Thanks.”
Gordon hummed an acknowledgment, patting Benrey lightly on the shoulder with his gun hand as he walked past him, bearing his sad microwaved leftovers. “Uh… play something so I got something to watch while I eat?”
“Sure.” Benrey had paused his game to come chat with Gordon upon him returning home so he had no complaints about doing so and followed. They would talk about it more tomorrow. If they decided to wait, Benrey would just go by himself and walk.
~
The conversation was surprisingly brief. Gordon suggested they wait, Benrey said he didn’t want to and would’ve preferred to walk instead. Ultimately they all agreed to go.
With how long the trip to the old Black Mesa facility was and how deep they were planning to delve into it to find what they were looking for, they’d be spending at least one night there, probably more like two but perhaps more. And thus Gordon and the rest of the Science Team bought what they called ‘camping gear’. No tent though, the one thing Benrey associated with the idea of camping.
“We’ll be indoors,” Gordon explained on the drive home when asked, “so a tent’s not really needed. Sleeping bags will do just fine.”
“Lame. Guess it’s not a camping trip though so… whatever.” Benrey had got to see and touch the display tents in the store anyway so not having one was fine.
Gordon sighed. “I really gotta take you out more, huh? Being less lazy would probably be for good me too so… how ‘bout we go real camping sometime? I’ve never been but how hard can it really be?”
“Ooh, where?”
“I don’t now. Maybe somewhere in Colorado. They’re just north of us and supposedly got good outdoorsy areas. Could probably go skiing or something too. …. Or uh, maybe not since you’re cold-blooded so the cold might not be fun for you. So maybe we should stick to the desert.”
“Nah, I wanna go skiing, looks fun.” And the snow, was it really as soft as it looked in games?
“All right, it’s a plan then, I guess. I’ve certainly earned a vacation. So we’ll do that sometime in the near future once were done with… you know.”
From there it wasn’t long before they reached home. The plan had been to pack as soon they were through the door but with only a little bit of prodding, Benrey got Gordon to play some games with him first. They were leaving early tomorrow morning so it was important they get some good game time in today. Gordon did eventually put his foot down though; disappointing but probably for the best.
Some of their supplies were provided by Black Mesa as the trip was being made under the guise of it being another salvage run. Benrey coming along and thus being another body to put a pack on apparently meant extra could be brought. The fact that he wasn’t planning on eating or drinking while there made it a bit annoying to be loaded up with water bottles and food rations but he was being allowed to bring the Game Boy Advance and some games in his pack too so he’d put up with it.
Benrey helped with the packing at first but Gordon apparently found issue with his packing style and shooed him away. Leaving him to just wonder around the bedroom and watch. Or he could head off to play more games until it was bedtime; Gordon could come join him again when he was done packing. But someone needed to make sure he didn’t forget anything important such as the HEV suit still sitting in its box in the closet. He could of course be planning on not taking it out until morning but he was forgetful sometimes and it should probably be put on charge tonight to make sure it was fully powered when they go to the facility so… “Don’t forget the HEV suit.”
Gordon paused and looked up at him. “Why?”
What did he mean ‘why?’ “Might be dangerous.” The deeper one went into a dungeon, the more dangerous it was after all. Not that the facility was the exact same as a video game dungeon but it was close enough that the same basic principle had to apply, right? Especially since it had during their first journey through it.
“Maybe but… no. I’d rather not. It’s heavy, a pain to put on, and probably out of power by now.”
“Yeah, that’s why should bring it out now, put it on charge so its all juiced up tomorrow.”
“I don’t have anything to charge it with and don’t really wanna bother anyway.”
Since the idea had first been brought up, Benrey had been assuming that Gordon putting the HEV suit back on was part of the plan. Unlike their first trip back when they’d only intended to venture into the living area of the facility, they were going deeper. Not as deep as they’d gone in their initial journey through the facility but said journey had proven that deeper meant more dangerous. At the time ‘more dangerous’ had translated to ‘more fun’ for Benrey. Now that he knew and cared more about how weak and fragile Gordon was though that wouldn’t be the case anymore. Especially if he was going without the one thing that had kept him alive that first journey. If he lost another limb, it was probably gone for good. … Or if he died, he wouldn’t come back.
“But uh… what if you die? That’d be a bummer.” … More than a bummer actually. Once the thought had made Benrey sad, now it was making him squirm. Was this what anxiety was? A raising tension caused by a fear that wasn’t sourced by a proper threat, just the potential of one. No wonder Gordon was always so twitchy and unable to hold still whenever he got anxious. It was a very unpleasant feeling. Benrey would like to stop feeling it … “So you should wear the HEV suit just in case.”
Gordon looked back down and continued packing. “Nope, not happening.”
“What if there’s more zombies or the lightening aliens or… or the squid guys? What if the military shows up again?” Almost anything except maybe the first was almost certain death if Gordon got hit without protection, right?
“I doubt any of that’ll happen.”
“Could though. What if we run into more… radiation stuff? That’s bad without the HEV suit for normal humans, right? Or an earthquake hits and uh… a wall falls on you or something. Probably survivable with the HEV suit but not without it.”
Gordon paused and looked up at him again, even straightening to fully tun towards him. “You really worried about me?”
“You’re weak, easy to kill, and wouldn’t come back if you died.”
His confused expression turned into the more familiar annoyed one. “Dude, there’s no need to word it like that. It sounds like a threat.”
Benrey shrugged. “Is true though. Maybe I should just go by myself after all.” In hindsight, he should’ve just gone when first deciding he wanted to look at his records. He’d have already had them by now if he had… assuming the computers they’re on were still intact anyway.
“No, no, no. We’re going with you because we already said we would. And we’re already signed up for the thing so can’t back out now.” Gordon walked around the bed to stand in front of Benrey. Looking down at him, his expression softened again. “I’ll be fine though, ‘kay? I got this,” he held up his gun hand, “and I know how to use it. And all you guys are all kinds of powerful so… I’ll be fine. If I do get hit or something, you could just bleed on me a bit and that’ll fix it. We already tested that, remember?”
“I guess so, yeah.” Logically it made no sense to be so worried and normally Benrey wouldn’t be. Worrying about things wasn’t his style. It never accomplished anything, much easier to just roll with whatever happened as it happened. None of it could permanently hurt him anyway so why concern himself much with any of it? But he wouldn’t be able to just roll with it if Gordon died or got hurt in some other permanent way that couldn’t be fixed.
Somehow Gordon had gone from a fun fascination to worming his way into Benrey’s brain and making him feel all sorts of things he didn’t normally feel. Some of those were pleasant feelings but this was very much the opposite. This feeling sucked even more than Gordon having made him care about his past and whether or not he had a true form. And that was saying something because that sucked pretty bad. Even worse would be if Benrey’s newfound anxieties did come true.
“You okay?” Gordon asked, drawing Benrey’s gaze back up to him. He was giving Benrey a mildly concerned look. … His annoyed looks were more fun. That was the problem with getting closer to him; he was annoyed with Benrey less often and worried for him more instead. People being worried for him sucked. The only concern Gordon or anyone should be feeling in regards to Benrey is concern for what kind of mischief he might get up to. But Benrey was concerned for him too, meaning they were concerned for each other. Which was stupid.
“I’ve never felt like this before. I don’t like it. It’s lame.”
“Like what?”
Part of Benrey didn’t want to say but Gordon had told him he could talk to him about things and this was certainly a thing. “Anxious.”
Gordon stared at him for a beat or two in silence before letting a slight chuckle. “Oh dude, being anxious sucks so much, believe me, I know. But uh… uh…” The mirth left his voice as he expression to something more serious. “You’re uh… really actually anxious that I might die or something?”
Benrey had just got done saying so. But by now he was mostly used to Gordon needing things repeated for him. “Yeah or getting hurt in a way that can’t be fixed again. Could lose you other hand or… a foot or something.”
“Please don’t put that thought in my head. But uh… wow, um… didn’t think you… Being anxious sucks. So how ‘bout, because I can’t put the suit back on even if I’d wanted to, if it’ll make you feel better, I stay at the back of the group?
“Middle of the group. Something could sneak up behind.”
“Okay. Middle of the group then. And I promise I’ll be careful as I can be because trust me, I don’t wanna die or lose another body party either. That help you feel a bit less anxious? I know it’s not that easy but… you know, there’s only so much we do about anxiety while still living our lives.”
“Guess it’s better than nothing.” And once they were deeper in the facility Benrey would stick close to him, make sure nothing take advantage of how weak he was.
“Good. Now, I should finish packing. But first uh… I um… uh…” He lifted his hand as if intended to touch Benrey’s shoulder or perhaps go a bit higher to his face. He did neither though as he grimaced and pulled away instead. “You’re a good friend. Thanks for uh… that, being a good friend. It’s… I appreciate it.” Before he’d even finished speaking he was back pedaling, going back around to resume packing, doing so with a bit more intensity than before.
Sweet. Benrey was a good friend. That somehow made the negative feelings Gordon inspired in him more bearable. Being anxious sucked but at least it made him a good friend. … Which also meant Gordon being worried about him, made Gordon a good friend too. It was still uncalled for and kind of annoying but maybe it wasn’t the worst thing in the world.

Rejected. (Comfort fic)
Tumblr media
Yea I'm not sure what this is beside Frankie being sweet. So read on lol.
Words:1384
No beta we die like Tom
Rating: General Audience
You stared at the phone in your hand around the tears that were starting to form. It was a rejection message. You’d gotten bold on a night out and given your number to a man and excitedly spent the week texting him until you’d gone on a date. You’d have a lot of fun even going back to his apartment to make out and be a bit handsy before you returned home. His kisses had left you flustered and giggling like an idiot, which he hadn’t seemed to approve of but you’d pushed forward.
“How are we gonna get anything done with you giggling like that,” he’d asked exasperated. But you’d pushed on and things had gone well. Or so you’d thought. The message could be summed up as a “it’s not you it’s me but we can still be friends” type deal. You almost laughed as you reread the words, and slipped the phone in your pocket. You couldn’t let this distract you from your day when you had work that needed doing. Frankie strolled into the bar to see his friend and favorite bartender looking utterly downtrodden. He wanted to go ask her what was wrong but he was worried it would come off as creepy. Instead he beelined to the table with the boys. They seemed a little somber themselves and that concerned him.
“Who died?” he asked in a joking tone. “Your girl is sad. We watched her go from all smiles to sad in the span of three text messages,” Benny answered softly.
Frankie sputtered out that she wasn’t his girl but he was curious what had caused her to be upset. “Does anybody know what the texts said?”
“Why don’t you go ask her?” Will offered.
“Rumor has it she went on a date last night. Looks like it didn’t go well,” Santiago added matter of factly.
Those words made Frankie’s heart drop. He’d been waiting for a chance to ask her out, but an opportunity never presented itself. It hurt to hear that he’d missed his shot. Well maybe not missed it fully if she was at the bar looking upset.
“Okay I’ll go talk to her,” he said firmly. He swiped Benny’s shot and downed it before straightening and heading to the bar to talk to her.
A nervous throat clearing made you look up from the glass you were polishing for the third time. You quickly sat it down and looked up to meet the deep coffee eyes for Frankie. Frankie you think might like you, but when he did make a move you gave up. Frankie of the sweet shy smiles and tender looks.
“What’s up Frankie?” you asked, trying your hardest to be perky. But perky fell flat and you could tell the second a frown creased his lips.
“What’s wrong, pumpkin?” Frankie asked softly.
The word pumpkin drew a small giggle out of you. “You know you’re the only one that has the stones to call me pumpkin right?”
“Well since you haven’t hit me, I figured it was okay.”
“I guess it is. So what's up? Need more drinks for the boys?,” you asked, trying to deflect the question. You really didn’t want to talk about your night. Almost as if reading your mind Frankie sat on the nearest barstool and gave you a soft nod. You paused wondering if you really should tell him, but there was no point in hiding it. Not when Santiago was likely to find out and tell the rest of the miscreants leading back to Frankie anyway.
“Fine.” You huffed out a sigh and threw your towel down. “I went on a date. I thought it went well. Except the giggling, but apparently he didn’t think so. He sent me a long heartfelt message that was supposed to make me feel better or something I guess. But I almost wish he’d just ghosted me.”
“Can I see the text?”
You frowned but passed the phone over for him to read the text that managed to make you feel bad for being upset, but also royally pissed you off. One of your fellow bartenders telling you that you shouldn’t be upset either hadn’t helped your feelings in the slightest.
So look… I hate having to do this but I gotta be honest about my feelings…I think we’re very different people and I don’t see this working out between us. I just don’t think the vibes were there, we just have very different interests and very different energy. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot I like about you, but the awkwardness was felt on my end a few times last night. I think you’re great I really do, we just don’t vibe like I had hoped. I hope you understand.
“Well that was incredibly reasonable and polite,” Frankie started. He stopped talking as soon as your face fell further. “But it was rude to do it after one date, connections aren’t instant. You have to actually form them like me and you.”
“Me and you?” you asked softly.
“And honestly you’re an angel, you’re sweet, smart, funny, drop dead beautiful. I wish I’d asked you out sooner. I just wish he hadn’t had a chance to hurt you first though,” Frankie prattled on. “I mean he hasn’t had the chance to properly get to know you and your quirks. How can he do that after one date? Like the way you giggle when you’re nervous, or fidgeting while you think, or that cute little hair twirl you do. You’re amazing and beautiful and you deserve the world and every good thing in it….”
You just watched him in shock, he’d said he liked you among other things. When Frankie paused in his tirade of how wonderful you were you leaned across the bar and grabbed his collar. With a hard yank you brought your lips to his pressing a lingering kiss on his plush lips. You pulled away with a giggle when a roaring cheer went up from his friends. You looked at Frankie with his eyes still closed and lips parted and giggled again.
“Are you laughing at me?” He asked softly as he finally recovered.
“Not at you… a good kiss makes me giggle. He didn’t like that either,” you said with a shrug.
“Yeah he’s a fucking idiot.” Frankie reached out and cupped your cheek again and gave you a soft smile. “Can I take you out tomorrow night pumpkin?”
“Only if you promise to kiss me like that again,” you answered and tipped your face up in invitation.
Frankie kissed you more slowly, taking his time to make sure you were lost in it before he pulled away. When his lips left yours, you instantly started to giggle making him smile widely. He liked that his kiss provoked that reaction and he hated that somebody else got to experience it. But now that he knew it was an option he was going to kiss you every chance he got. He leaned forward and pressed another kiss to your lips and smiled when you giggled again.
“Tomorrow then,” he said softly before releasing your face.
“Tomorrow,” you agreed.
Tomorrow you had a date with someone who thought you giggling during a kiss was cute. A man that wouldn’t text you a rejection he’d at least call. Once Frankie returned to the table with his friends victorious you picked up your phone and drafted a message back to your date from last night.
It’s okay, I completely understand. And I think we are different people. I hope you find what you’re looking for and thanks to you I just did. I found the man that thinks it’s sweet when I giggle after a kiss. Have a nice life and I hope you find somebody that is as good to you as I would have been.
With the message sent you waited for text bubbles to form before blocking him, no need for flimsy excuses when you had a man that thought you were perfect. You gave Frankie a finger wave that made him blush and his friends hoot with glee before turning back to the tasks at hand. You were gonna have a helluva date with him, you were going to see to it.

8. but i wore his jacket for the longest time.
As the nuisance who had one been a King's Wit faded away, Nomad drew his jacket more around himself. Though the long cut the planet and it's former Threnodites seemed to favor was better for the weather, he found himself wishing for a moment for something shorter, stiffer, and blue.
Foolish. He'd thought of Kal, a moment ago, and now that crack was growing in the rain.
Kaladin Stormblessed. But the storms on Roshar brought no good fortune, and Nomad doubted it would be different here. Still... In the rain, it was easier to slip back. Think of the early mornings in the war camps. Nomad was so very old, and had been so very young then, but his memory of that had never faded.
He remembered, before Auxiliary. Before any fifth ideals. The fourth one. The fourth bridge. Kaladin had been there, had shouted just as Ishtar moved behind Nomad. Then he'd been wrapped in Kaladin's living armor and realized what to do. Then she'd accepted his words, formed his own armor.
He'd given that up. Along with his second set. And still now, in the rain, Nomad had thought of wanting a blue jacket instead of invested plate. So foolish.
So tired.
But then, when things had started going wrong- if Nomad didn't start tracing that from leaving his home after the failed exams, of course- when things had started going wrong, he'd lost sight of Kal and fallen and then he awoke to Renarin's light and the captain's coat tucked around him.
Nomad should have returned that jacket. To the quartermaster, if not to Kal. Instead it stayed with his things, carefully washed and mended, but never worn.
He hadn't put it on again until his former teacher had shoved him into the seas of Shadesmar and warned him to run and never stop. It had just been the first, the only, jacket he'd been able to grab.
But once he put it on, he hadn't really been able to take it off. It was like thinking of Kal, in that way. He'd worn out on dozens of planets, for dozens of years.
And then it had been destroyed. Nomad had recently had a particularly bad string of his clothes being destroyed in the last day, but even without that, clothes didn't last forever.
Neither did men, yet here Nomad was.
Standing in the rain in a city he couldn't save, on a planet he couldn't escape from.
He glanced up at the sky. Clouds kept him from seeing the ones who chased him. But they were there.
Nomad shook his head and wiped the rain from his face, moving back inside. No time to stop and think. No time to wish for an old jacket. Kaladin would have told him to get moving, anyway.
