U ever write and ur like wow a queer person definitely wrote this it is impossible to detach the fact I'm queer from this piece of writing. Well that's fun
#rant#i consider it a positive#but yeah like. i have a bunch of original plots i want to eventually write out as stories#and like. i thought ok ill start with a girl/guy romance since like. my parents might want to read my first finished story#and i love them and im out to tjem and they accept me at pride. but its always a glass closet in a way. they definitely avoid the topic of#who i like. unless im in a relationship specifically or discussing mu own future marriage.#so like a big gay for gay huge epic romance as the first book i shove at tjem is a convo i dont think i expect to have#so whatever i pick one of my guy/girl stories in this original plot story universe. well. im bi#guess how many characters are bi in this bitch. ill give u a hint. anyone wirj any iota#of romantic interest in someone is already explicitly bi. sorry parents but when u read this#u will be smacked over the head by bi being real and remembering ur kid is bi#not a single straight character in this story. assuming anyone straight is fucking impossibimpossible#its clear a queer person wrote this book#oh rodenberry when u said in the future ppl wont care about gender and sexuality limits and lovr is lovr uvu#babey i made itty#i also think like. the current demands ppl make of authors to out themselves. is incredibly invasive like#an authors work generally will speak for itself. and on the flip side#if a lesbian writes a story thats super heteronormativr that can still happen like. identity doesnt equal a perfect (or imperfect) novel#on a semi lighter note. im demiromantic and i feel like#even if i dont intend to that it probably spills into how i write romances and friendships#even tho i like to think i can write ppl who fall in love fasr sjsjdsjsjdj lol

Simon and his father take a trip to the Scottish highlands for the summer, he knows only one of them will leave.
Johnny is a boy obsessed with filming explosions from fireworks he's not supposed to have.
Los Vaqueros are a group of Mexican teens derailed from their field trip waiting for teachers that might not come back.
Huge lore and plot dump below.
Mild tw for Simons father
Simons father has always taken him on hunting trips, sometimes he hated them, some times he liked them. But he'd never taken him this far from manchester. There are weapons in the cabin they rent, his father is eerily sober, one of them is going to die out here. Simon can only hope that Tommy won't be next.
Johnny meets him when he strays too far from his father. Part of it on purpose, he would never be on equal footing, more so when his father had the rifle and not him. He's in the tree's, at first simon thinks its prey, but there's a camera lense staring right at his scope.
Los Vaqueros come later, the leader arguing with a girl with choppy hair, Valeria and Alejandro trade glares while Rodolfo tries to mediate. Their bus broke down, leaving them stuck in town desperately renting a cabin near but far from the one simon is in.
It's the most interesting thing thats happened to johnny, and in the makeshift bonfire Valeria corners him and Simon. Her gaze is snakelike and a ring clinks on the bottle she's holding
"You say that he's an asshole yes? Your padre. Mine was the same, en mi opinión? It is kill or be killed."
Valeria nods at Alejandro, she tells them of a faceless force where she's from. The person sponsoring the trip for them, 'good will'. The five of them band together, the rest of the Vaqueros utterly ignorant.
Simon will save his family, Alejandro will get them home, and johnny? He's going to make the best home video.
-
Yeah so thats the whole plot, originally it was just going to be ghoap but somehow the Vaqueros fell into place. It kind of made more sense to have Valeria give them the idea? She doesnt have a whole bunch of canon lore so I figured she'd have an in with the cartel via her father, who was awful. And when Valeria killed him the nameless helped her cover it up and she got her own little spot.
Alejandro broke off their relationship after that, it's why they're on bad terms. He formed the Vaqueros as a funny joke that he started to take seriously when kids around Las Almas genuinely needed help that wasnt someway connected to the cartel, adults had that with rudys mother, so Ale and his childhood friend Rudy decided to help people their age in a way that doesn't rely on adults too much.
Everyone here is about 16-18. Soap is 17, ghost is as well but a few months older. Rudy Alejandro and Valeria are 18. And the youngest cowboy is 16.
Im trying to fit Gaz and Alex in? Im thinking that they both live in Texas, Gazs parents had a falling out since mum was from Texas hes there. Their school is on the same trip in the same bus a sort of cross trip to help the shitty american public school get a better name, as well as the cartels big PR move with having a class from one of Las Almas' schools.
Johnny is a bit weird here, but his motivation is he's suffering from extreme middle kid issues. Loves his family but since he's almost invisible is able to just kinda run off as long as hes back home eventually. He has a camera he uses to film any of his mishaps with, its essentially just jackass. As well as a video diary. Dont be fooled, its also an excuse for me to write some of it in script like format.
Simon is almost exactly the same as he is in the 09 comics, obviously a bit different. But childhood is the same.
I wanted farah to be here so bad but her childhood is literally a warzone and theres no way I can get her and her brother in Scotland. Because im trying so hard to make this somewhat believable, like yes its is a summer mystery horror au. But god I just really need things to make a little sense otherwise I cant do it. Same with Price Nik and Laswell. Like I could group Laswell in with Alex and gaz, and maybe I could pair her with Valeria for funsies. However Nikolai is in russia so... oopsie, and price? Like... how do you turn price into a teenager, he'd be what 19 or 20? Theres no reason he'd be in school, I dont think he'd be held back.
Also you may wonder, why is graves not here? Uh.... because I dont care, he wouldn't have a place here. The antagonist is Simons father, and honestly man? I just dont care that much for his character.
Man theres... theres so much I have here dude, I want to throw roach in there, and I THINK I could squeeze him in as one of ghosts school mates but the point is the first act has Simon completely isolated.
Anyway thats it. Bye.

PRINCE CHARMING TOO?? I see you have a type and I'm obsessed omg. Pleeeease give me some more between you two!!
I DO NOT HAVE A TYPE (*knows i have a type*)
but yeahh... 🥺 i love him so MUCH. our anniversary is actually soon! november 6th. shrek 2 is one of my all-time favorite movies, so i watch it a TON... but only recently did i realize, wow, this guy? sucks. he's terrible. i want him (partially my friend's fault for bringing it up YEARS ago and it kinda sat in the back of my mind for a while til i finally admitted it 2 years later 😔 she knows me too well smh)
and i got attached to him SO QUICKLY, partially due to my love of shrek, but also... 😔 yeah i have a type
my s/i is not like that though, she denies and denies and denies until the very end. (though so does he because he's set on fiona for a while... at least outwardly) my s/i is a lot like shrek, having grown up knowing him. she was the only human who wasn't really afraid of him. she didn't have anyone else. so she has some crass tendencies like he does, but she's really a hopeless romantic at heart. bitterly creating fairytales for herself that she knew would never come to fruition, because she doesn't really belong with other humans. all they've done was abandon her, and she never saw herself being accepted by them
and when she meets charming (she accompanied shrek, donkey, and fiona to far far away), her biases are affirmed at first. this guy is TERRIBLE... and represents everything she hates about nobility and the uppity far far away.
they're both stubborn. and that eventually works in their favor, actually. charming has never met anyone like her before, so carefree and honest. his life has been dictated by people primarily concerned with appearances; underhandedness the norm. but it isn't like that with us
and, well, a bunch of plot and forbidden love stuff happens 👉👈 we teach each other a lot. ideally, because of this, shrek the third never happens (i have such mixed feelings about that movie akjkjdskjs), and we move to a smaller place near the sunflower fields we see in the first shrek (and sunflowers are my favorite flower!). he doesn't go all out with the revenge plot
but i have an AU where it does happen and things are completely different between us 👀 probably a different origin story for us and everything (though i haven't decided on that part) i would really like to write for it one day

!!!! You’re writing a post-Picard Raffi/Seven story?!
Yeah!! To be honest it's less writing and more planning/sketching out ideas I like. It's technically an AU because it's set on an original ship called "Perseverance" rather than the Ent G (I started writing some of it before Picard s3 ended and didn't feel like reworking it especially because I really enjoyed making a bunch of OCs and didn't want to sideline them). It's mostly a project to take a lot of the Picard era worldbuilding that I think is super cool (the destruction of Romulus, xBs, synths) as well as some original ideas and putting it in the style of a more 90s era mostly episodic show that swings from darker character studies to lighthearted romps and has some canonical characters (obviously Seven & Raffi as well as Janeway, Naomi Wildman, Soji, Elnor, etc making appearances) but also with a strong focus on OCs.
I became really fascinated the past few months with how hopeless the Federation and Starfleet became after the Romulan supernova/destruction of Mars in Picard season 1 and how they might realistically recover so a lot of the stories have a focus on the flaws of Starfleet/the Federation and how to solve them from the point of view of people like Seven & Raffi who have been screwed over or subjected to prejudice while still maintaining the optimism that should always be in Star Trek. (As well as just having fun developing Seven & Raffi's relationship, worldbuilding, and doing my take on ridiculous stock trek plots.)
I have the first "season" (20 episodes) planned with two episodes fully written + a bunch of random excerpts and some ideas for future seasons including one episode fully written for season 2. It's one of those projects that I know I'm not actually going to end up drafting and posting because I should really be working on other things but it's fun and tbh a good writing exercise to at least write notes for what every episode would look like.
Some of my OCs for this include:
Chief of Security Lt. Cmdr Hannah Nguyen: a human who as a teen/young adult was haunted by her dad's death in the Dominion War and acted out but eventually was given a chance to join Starfleet and has tried to bury her fears under layers of eccentricity and jokes and is now having a hard time adjusting to being a leader
Ops Officer Lt. Kelen Taan: a Trill who gains a symbiont halfway through s1 and realizes that even though they achieved what every Trill's dream *should* be, they feel even less like a complete person than before they were joined
Chief Engineer Lt John: John is from a pre-warp world that was devastated by the Romulan supernova and only escaped because of a crashed shuttle. His people are entirely telepathic and don't have a concept of language so he often feels unable to communicate and form lasting relationships (but he works on it!)
Pilot Ensign Isha Kulhari: a human and recent Academy grad who is Idealistic and Determined to do the right thing but sometimes her faith in inherent goodness wavers as she really sees the universe but still chooses kindness and hope.
Dr Sovel Dahir: a half-human half-Vulcan who was raised by humans on Earth and has a lot of issues connecting to their Vulcan heritage and culture because they don't believe that logic can solve everything.
Counselor Lt Cmdr Mateusz Binkowski: an old friend of Raffi's from before she was discharged (and subsequently reinstated) who's had a lifelong Starfleet career but harbors a dark secret about something he did in the Dominion War as a young man.
Some of the ideas I'm particularly proud of are:
a courtroom episode involving a legal case about whether xBs as a group should granted asylum into the Federation. Seven is called to testify but is hesitant to go because she's spent so long trying to distance herself from being an xB because of her trauma and to gain others' respect and now she doesn't know how to connect to this huge group built on a shared trauma
the tried and tested sex pollen episode. it's cringe and silly but it was so much fun to write a ridiculous comedy that also digs at some of the complexities of Seven and Raffi's relationship and whether it can work out for them as captain and xo
the ship is dragged through to another universe where there's a version of the Federation that's obsessed with scientific progress at any cost with no consideration for morality. We find a version of Seven (or rather Annika) never assimilated by the Borg who's leading a project to break through to other universes to explore but might be endangering the walls of reality. (similar to the mirrorverse this becomes a recurring setting)
breaking away from our main characters, we follow a group of Romulan refugees turned pirates as they plan to break in to and loot the ship. it'll be one part fun genre heist story and one part stark look at how refugees are demonized and forced to turn to crime
a Borg cube is discovered in Federation space and Seven is sent to investigate (and destroy it) along with her chief of security, Nguyen. Nguyen has a deep fear of the Borg which she's never admitted to Seven (or anyone) and spends the story combatting her fears and trying to come up with a way to save the drones as proof that she can act beyond her fears. Meanwhile Seven, battling her own demons and self-hate, insists that the cube needs to be destroyed. It's told in media res through a therapy session.
sorry this was so atrociously long. props to anyone who read this far!! i would also be more than happy to share my gdocs of everything i have written and outlined if anyone is interested or to just chat in dms!

oh i love you for rbing hee angsts for me even though they leave a huge impact— yours specifically, for some reason ( im saying this again, vie, drop the secrets ) AND NO IT WASN'T JUST 'OH POOR BOY' FIC i mean maybe, yeah, sort of? but i was having a terrible terrible morning and my intention was to read a cute candle light dinner fic heeseung but who knew you had plans on lighting candles for the reader instead :/
AND THE LONG FIC. i am very intrigued actually, tell me more i think i'm ready to consume more of heeseung on the verge of insanity ( i think we're calling him that every time he's in your fic ) now that i've woken up from a power nap
no bc im trying to look at my fics and i can't find proper dialogue like where are the conversations?? my secret i think is just a crap ton streams of consciousness bye 🚶🚶reader and hee barely ever talk it's just like: here's what's happening in this poor little meow meow's heart and mind. have it, ty and goodbye!!
im sorry for catching you on a bad morning tho ngl ☹️☹️ but also pls 😭😭 that's so funny actually i only have two proper-ish hee fluffs and one's a blind date gone wrong but also right??? and another is just sleepy hee 🚶🚶
the longfic!! yes!! i deleted it and a bunch of others in my bout of fury and annoyance at my writing (more like lack of ability to write actual plot lmao) before i went on that two month writing hiatus so it's gone rip 🤭🤭 but it was something i'd been toying with for so so long like you know that one scene in fever of hee just tired and in bed?? it was inspired by that but instead of horny it was just sadness and sorrow lmao it's actually hilarious how that came to be the more i think about it
it was originally going to start off with that snippet i posted, which was the prologue and it would then spiral into these glimpses at his inability to wake up from this quiet and empty world he'd built for himself in your wake. lots of moments where i was showing him doing and feeling absolutely nothing for weeks on end and just the menial things yada yada and one day the 02z would try to unsuccessfully break his door down so they send a wellness check and whatnot and that's where his healing process began i guess.
it would be rocky and he'd constantly succumb back into his grief bc just like in "second death" he'd become so attached to reader that without them he just wasn't whole enough to function. it'd then go into flashbacks where i was showing everyone how up until then, he had only been living for you and only you. but the boys would take turns crashing at his place and taking him out to places and doing things that would slowly make him return to himself. god there was this one instance where they'd catch him dancing by himself in the candlelight and he was so out of himself that it honestly broke even my heart. they would realize that he kept seeing reader as if they were physically there as a means to cope and it was so heartbreaking i can't begin explaining it to you ugh
eventually the more he started to feel better and the less he started relying on drinking, the more sinister your ghost would become and there would be times where he'd wake up from a dream he had of something nice (other than you at long last) to your ghost just smiling eerily at him from beside his bed, telling him that he was starting to forget about you and how cruel that was of him and that was the first time the boys would ever hear him cry after your departure. the guilt would eat him up alive. logically he knows that you'd want him to be happy and move on but the part in his brain that's so self loathing just makes him see you everywhere so that he never ever forgets about you.
anyhow that's all i had written i think and revisiting it makes me SO want someone to write this out for me 😞😞

So I know I've mentioned the Lost Prince AU is part of a larger world I've been working on for like a decade or more, and I wanted to talk a bit more about that and explain some of the backstory and the other novels that are set in that universe. Some of this is going to change though, because I think I can actually salvage the two novels and complete them if I do a bunch of cutting and editing and redrafting. And if I cut out the third novel in the series that was just overcomplicating things too much bc modern setting and wibbly wobbly timey wimey shit that I couldn't figure out how to resolve. So that's gone now and it's made things so much easier. Those 200k words of novels won't go to waste after all! :D
Alright kids, buckle up, this is gonna get loooooooooooong. :D
This universe started life as thinly veiled RPF on 750words.com, little short pieces I was writing just to get the brain working and nothing more than that. It eventually came to be a series I referred to as astrological dystopia, which turned into an original novel titled Pasithea's City.
The setting was a Greek city in the middle of the Libyan desert, Neos Apollonia, an oracle city, where your fate was proclaimed when you were 7 years old, and then the city did everything in its power to make that a self-fulfilling prophecy. bc humans and oracles and wealth and whatnot etc. So the hubris is strong here and the worship of the gods is not. I bet you can guess how Apollon feels about this state of affairs.
The story is about a boy called Andreas, who ended up with a bad fate and was exiled from the city. He's a petty thief, close to Hermes, who has a strong distrust in Apollon and the Oracles for good reason. He's taken in by a couple of women from the desert tribes, who also ran away from their tribe for various reasons of their own.
The catalyst in this story is the Oracle proclaiming an Actual Oracle on the new year's day rituals, proclaiming the destruction of the city bc Apollon is Pissed and will bury them all under the sand bc why the fuck not. The city was actually originally much closer to Kyrini, but the physical drift into the desert matches the internal drift away from the gods. Ruins are left behind as the city moves, and it's where the exiles live, because there's nowhere else to survive out there.
Hermes manages to save Andreas, his mothers, the Oracle and his companion, after playing dice with Apollon, and spares them from the sandstorm that otherwise buries the rest of the city under the sands.
Hermes becomes their guide through the sands, taking them away from the old city and takes them north. Through this, they end up back at the tribe where Andreas' mothers came from, bc healing conflicts and old wounds and making new friends etc. And after a while, Andreas, his new bondmate Meri, the Oracle and his companion, head further north to Kyrini with Hermes bc exploration and seeing the city.
This is big on found family, given the tribe they end up with is build from refugees, outcasts, anyone who doesn't have a home, and who needs one. They're a group of misfits and outsiders who are highly protective of their own, and they've made their own way in spite of everything. They don't always get on with the other tribes in the area as they can be a little too close-minded or unwilling to meet ppl halfway.
But yeah, that's the gist of that novel. There's a lot I've left out of that, but that's the general plot I'm working on.
The second novel, The Black Priest, should really come first, narratively speaking. It documents the priests of Dja fleeing from the country with their gods and the last priests they have left, and heading west into the desert. It's at the end of the invasion of Egypt by a group I'm calling the Sea Peoples, for lack of a better identification and also bc it doesn't really matter who they are bc this is about the aftermath.
It was inspired by this music video by Sparkadia, bc ofc it was lol. I was Obsessed with this song (and this band tbh) back in the day. Most of the characters all had their start in this music video, but they've evolved so far beyond that now. I made them my own.
youtube
The big theme in this novel is unification. The Priests of Dja come from Lower Egypt, around the Delta, and the tribe where Andreas' mothers come from have their origin story in Upper Egypt millions of years ago. There are also themes here about religion in diaspora and how gods evolve to be what people need them to be.
So we have the priests of Dja being called back to their ancestral lands with the tribes, to unify the Two Lands. There's a lot to learn from each other, and how to do religion without a King/Kingdom, since much of ancient Egyptian religion relied on their being a King to send the priests into the shrines and temples.
(Yes, this is my way of processing my own Kemetic practice and how to work it in the modern world, with so much information that has either not been found, or has been destroyed, and there are no big temples to worship in, no communities irl to support that religion, etc, no Kings to rely on, etc.)
The timeline being what it is, and yes i have a gigantic spreadsheet with FOUR DIFFERENT CALENDARS in it that I've synced up so I can keep the plot organised, the priests of Dja actually make it to Neos Apollonia some time before it's buried, and honestly bc of that I do think this needs to be the first novel bc of that. There's a ton of world-building that I bring up in that journey that is never relevant to Pasithea's City, and I think it makes more narrative sense for this one to go first. Like, there's a moment where Andreas is found injured in a ruined temple a couple of my priestesses are searching for, and they care for him and heal him up. But that's never really mentioned or alluded to properly in Pasithea's City. Hence, they both need a lot of revision and editing and reworking but they'll be much better for it.
So, how does the Lost Prince AU fit into this? Well. It's set ten years after The Black Priest, more or less. Cub and Scar are in their mid-late 20s, having fled as teenagers. Their names are pseudonyms, but also not, and they've spent the time away from Egypt on the run, as they never really found anywhere to settle, and it felt too uncomfortable to settle in Kyrini as Libyans. Plus, well. Being hunted for [redacted].
They did meet up with the priests of Dja maybe a year after they settled with the tribes, as they sought shelter for a while, but they didn't stay, and moved on quickly. They've basically been nomads for a decade because it just felt safer. And then the gods started calling them back to Egypt, and with great reluctance that's what they're trying to do. There's a lot more to the plot that's coming, but I don't wanna spoil anything so. >_>
Also the identification of some of the nomes with Empires folk is broadly just flavour and not necessarily saying The Oasis Is Actually Pearl's Empire. It IS hers, but it's not Gilded Helianthia. It's Djesdjes, it's Bahariya Oasis, it's something else.
I do have a map of the region up at an old wordpress blog I set up six years ago, but it doesn't have the Copper King's mines on it for obvious it-wasn't-part-of-the-world-yet reasons back then. It also has some location notes there, and some cast lists for both Pasithea's City and The Black Priest.
So yeah. That's the basic gist of the world the Lost Prince AU is working in. If you have any further questions, please ask! I will happily ramble about this AU for hours if you ask nicely. <3

WIP Titles + Canons
Because I posted my first genuine Old Canon snippet yesterday and I also talk a lot about Old/Middle/New Canon now I wanted to take my list from the WIP titles tag and break it down a little more into my rough canons, with some notes about how un/hinged some of these ideas were. I will in fact answer asks about these but I reserve the right to [skip egregious James nonsense]
Pajiir & Delphonus
(the numbered ones are versions typically with multiple drafts)
Old Canon
[1] Azalea the Book (sorry it's just Secrets of Droon but…not that great I was like 8-10 for this. Azalea is the princesstagonist and Zalen is the barely-seen villain)
[2] Azalea Sequels (see above)
[3] Azalea Dream Beginning (ambitious. weird. chocolatey. there was torture??? this draft sucks [mostly affectionate])
[4] Azalea 3 (the origin of Dez and Julian, but they were pawns/patsies in Zalen's wildly ambitious plan to kidnap the entire royal family and then become king [bc he was Azalea's cousin]. I also got super distracted with him just like. falling in love with the royal police chief. There's some really cute stuff in these drafts but most of it is barely plot relevant. There was also a secret spy organization that was plot relevant or would have been eventually? Also first appearances of Kirnus, Hoven, Candra, Emmitt, Bean, and Franny)
[4.5] Meldraco (tiny draft about an orphan adopted by a nobleman who shadow runs a country, from whose estate he plans to escape. sounds cooler than it actually was tbh)
[5] Hope (the last hurrah of "Zalen is the villain" stories)
[6] Princess Azalea (what if the conflict was not "Zalen is the villain" but ghosts, need to procure magic seeds for an overly convoluted birthday present, summer camp, swl power struggles, or maybe Zalen kind of I don't remember what was supposed to happen? Origin of Syndy and a bunch of swl and imbra characters.)
Middle Canon
[7] Spacefarer Stories (wild space adventure involving evil scientist aliens, the rebellion against evil scientist aliens, the previous version of Dez being a charismatic asshole action hero, early versions of Anni/Julian/Dez dynamics, Zalen being pathetic, and a teenager who just wants to stop enduring corporal punishment and being shot back to Pajiir in a tiny space capsule. First appearances of several Melichacha crew members)
[8] Zalen the First (Autobio) (literally what it sounds like, Zalen's autobiography & related. surprisingly not a bad read)
[9] Chykoff Stories (stories about Zalen going to college and studying abroad, having a bad time with his girlfriend and boats, being Silas's roommate)
[10] The War Files (remember that weird nobleman? yeah he started a whole war and I decided to get Azalea and Seriito involved because royals. kind of a nothing draft except I also introduced the first iterations of new Keearo & Kirnus)
[11] Elbas Stories (Zalen, still a rich inventor, decides to buy a whole island)
[12] Az 2019 (a half-assed retwisting of some Princess Azalea threads. Origin of the "Seriito is hot for [graduate student] teacher" concept that became Sheri)
New Canon
The Fourth Android (the Scrivener file is just called Dez. went through so many concept iterations even before I introduced it here that thinking about it makes me want to scream. however some of that old stuff is still a lot of fun)
Delphonus 2 and 3 (sequels to TFA without titles. I just had ideas and needed a place to put them)
Triad (need to post a new intro. I made it better tho I'm not actively writing it)
Syndy & Hoven (favorite aggressive snowglobe story)
Pajiir Reference (there was too much character lore to reasonably put it inside a WIP Scrivener file so I put it here)
Pajiir Side Scenes (there were too many side scenes to reasonably keep inside Pajiir Reference so I put it here)
Locality Space
(previously Faeryland)
Old Canon
Creepsters - Witcheden Phase (9 major versions. faery police shenanigans with a fast and loose association with actual Celtic/English folklore [my output when the input was so many UK cop/mystery shows + a copy of Katherine Briggs' An Encyclopedia of Fairies]. Source of the zipline incident. Kat is our primary human POV)
HS - Horatio's Story (attempted reframing, kinda nothing)
SNA - Standing, Nazib, and Associates (what if it was the faery police guys but they were cool PIs instead)
Spinder and Georg (a full 400+ pages of a so-so-ishly executed romance between Spinder & Isabel under a fake name)
Middle Canon
LiBN - Love in Brú Nua (what if it was the faery police guys but they weren't police or PIs they were just having relationships. in an underground city)
Tales of Tobar Si (what if I super honed in on whatever's up with Horatio & Sid. direct antecedent of Another Ocean's Moon)
Spinder and Isabel (closer to S&G than Nicea, but with more Rodney & Declan)
Isabelle and Spynder (the far superior version [read: it's sexy and the Faeryland/Earth logistics make sense and I made an actual attempt to pay attention to the folklore])
Christina & Kat (lesbian attempting to locate her lost great-uncle [Leon] and with questionable motives falls for a powerful witch [Christina] with an equally powerful and bitchy ex. Walked so Drowning in the Stars could run)
New Canon
Nicea (fun fact: Rodney's design is straight out of Isabelle & Spynder and does not resemble earlier versions)
Another Ocean's Moon (not really written at all yet, though it's pretty much just space Tales of Tobar Si. maybe the Avis & Sorian stuff will go in it)
Drowning in the Stars (except Kat is nice and awkward lol)
Locality Space Side Scenes (currently 99% Sorian and Avis and 1% Michael making amends for the Incident)
If you wanna know more about all the New Canon stuff I have a WIP Master List also.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that five out of the six ideas for how Frey's visit to Rheddah does a good job of giving layers and dimension to the place despite its origins as a completely hostile foreign entity. What other ways can you imagine the country being "humanized"?
I've been sitting on this ask all day trying to figure out how to answer, and I... I've got nothing conclusive, buddy, I'm sorry XD
If you're referencing the answer I gave for this ask you sent in last week, I listed five ideas for what the heck could be going on in Rheddah. I'm not sure what the sixth one is, or even which one doesn't add or imply depth to Rheddah's world-building? My guess is the evil scientist one, but that could just be because it's my least favorite of the bunch.
As for further "humanizing" Rheddah, there's an unlimited number of different ways it could be done, from overarching plot elements to tiny design details. I could go into potential characterization for the Tantas, potential history and lore for the cult, what kind of food did they eat, what's the land like, do they paint their houses pretty colors, did they have pets, and on and on and on. The problem is, since we know very little about Rheddah, it would all be based on headcanons and/or what I would want to write in my self-insert fics. This problem is compounded by the fact that I now have two that I'm working on, and they both paint Rheddah in very different lights. Ironically the one that starts in Athia shows Rheddah much more favorably and humane (not "human," although they are that, too) than the one that starts in Rheddah.
For humanizing what we have in canon, though? I have a post I'm working on for analyzing the outfits of the spearmen and archers that invaded Visoria, and that will include humanizing elements, such as fashion and what materials are available for them to make their gear. If I'm lucky I might be able to extrapolate what climate they came from!
I have another post I'm working on that will cover burial in Athia that involves a battlefield in Praenost where I'm pretty sure the Rheddig buried their dead—and, spoiler alert, their graves are identical to the graves we see in Athian towns. Which is fascinating, because Thalia's grave is completely different from those graves, too! Hers is more akin to the graves in Cipal, actually, which is fascinating but I'm not prepared to get into it yet.
I could talk about the artistry of their weapons, or the designs of the tents and campfires they put up at their camps. But for a properly coherent post I'd need references, and I haven't been focusing on gathering those. I probably will eventually, but I want to finish the photo dumps I started forever ago and then get to work on making the other posts I have planned coherent—and hopefully intelligent because I suck at meta analysis! XD
Heck, I could just talk about the Writings of a Rheddig Soldier, which straight up says "I already miss home terribly" in the first entry! I love those archive entries so much, exactly because they painted the Rheddig as people. I have all those entries copied down in a text document, and I can gush about them as much as either of us want me to because they're so important for my understanding of Rheddah as a whole.
But yeah, uh, I have a feeling none of that actually answers your question 😅

Okay possibly unpopular opinion: I think the dsmp ending is the best of what we could have gotten given all the irl elements.
A lot of CCs weren’t active on the server anymore, which happens to most smps at some point (Epic SMP and Origins are some pretty recent examples). Eventually the server would’ve fizzled out if it went on any longer, the fact that there was even an ending at all is still impressive. They could’ve just stopped streaming and moved onto the next thing.
Also, this would be the easiest ending that could excuse any plot holes that CCs had. The nuke ending feels abrupt yeah, but it does the job of putting an end to the stories that don’t really want to be told anymore. Some stuff isn’t going to get resolved, but now they have a canon reason for why rather than just being forgotten forever.
This is an rp at the end of the day. Not only that, but one driven by a bunch of teenagers and people in their twenties without intensive writing experience. Like, they did really well given the circumstances! I understand people wanting the stories to feel more complete, but I think the CCs wanted to move onto something new.

Hello! I remember you saying that you want to write you’re own romance stories in the future (I could be misinterpreting it so let me know if I am) I love romance but I always feel awkward writing it since I haven’t tried since I was like 13/14. What got you to push past that kind of fear of writing smth “wrong” (if that makes sense).
I do want to write romance stories!! My best answer for you anon is that you never push past the feeling of writing something wrong but you’ve gotta write anyway. The first step to being really good at something is sucking at it. I started writing at 13 and no one stopped me (they should have someone should have looked at that middle schooler and said hey the plot twist of they’ve in a comma this whole time isn’t good). You’re going to read something you wrote a year ago, a week ago, an hour ago and think damn this sucks and then you’re going to read it again to figure out why. Most authors cringe at their early work and I certainly do but you gotta go beyond the “I was so terrible” and ask why? Use those critical analysis skills to dunk on yourself but not too much. you’ve always gotta find what you’re best at and then do more of it. A blunt beta reader is also very helpful in this process. Also you can always go back and edit and get it right the second time or the third time
Also read in the genre you want to write in. Like there are some tropes and conventions you have to do or otherwise it’s not that genre and there’s others you can bend. Find out what you like about the genre and what you don’t. If you’re writing what you want to read, then it’s never “wrong” you know? There’s always going to people who don’t like your stuff but you are your own target audience. Also read other people’s writing like you read your own. “What’s working what isn’t and why?” Go into a bookstore and buy the worst reviewed romance novel and the best and figure out what makes them different. Is it the characters, the tone, the mood, the dialogue?
Also since you’re here. My best advice to aspiring writers is to write fanfiction. Now admittedly if you only write fanfiction that’s not going to translate well into novel skills. Like fanfic is way more fun than original writing for me because it’s less conceptual work and I get that instant gratification of feedback. So I’ve started checking how many words of fanfic I write a day and then I double that and that’s how words I have to write for something original by the end of the week plus all the other word counts of the other days. But fanfiction is great for practice specific skills and doing writing exercises. You don’t have to build characters or worlds you just want to try writing in a different style or describing something without sight. Like I knew I was going to need to write sex scenes for my current original wip so I wrote fanfic smut with a bunch of different characters and changed the motivation and relationships each time. I got better at writing smut and understood what worked and what didn’t
So yeah my advice is unfortunately practice. Put words on the paper and eventually it’ll feel right

Someone's probably asked you this before but how long did it take you to plan out the plot for knifetrick? What did you do to come up with everything and do you have any tips for other writers who are struggling to put together their own fics?
after checking out my history lol,
it seems i did serious brainstorming and research for about a week before i started writing.
what happened first was that i had in my head the funny idea of ran failing to kill jackie and them getting tax-benefit married (to make ran feel guilty and admit his plot)
and once i realized i wanted to make it into an actual story, i had to change some of it and come up with plot and reasoning.
the first thing i did was ask my followers for song requests, lol. i asked specifically for “songs about futuristic settings or being married to/loving your assassination target”
i listened to a lot of that music to get my brain juices flowing. i had to put together a couple of Reasons for why things happened. i also knew i couldn’t just write the fic on the assassination alone, or else ran would have nothing to distract him and be the overarching plot, lol
the music helped me picture scenes and concepts. i then just jotted down a bunch of stuff i thought would be interesting to happen (possible scenes)
Tumblr media
a couple thoughts on this image— for one you can see that i originally wanted to name my fic after a movie. i looked up ones where assassins grow endeared to their targets and fail to kill them. but i realized i didn’t want to name the fic after a movie in case it was controversial or something, so i ended up going for a song instead. ALSO, as you can tell, some of these points got dropped! again, this was just brainstorming for things i wanted to include
Tumblr media
the next thing i did was ask for ranjack classpects, lol. for those unfamilliar with classpecting, it’s sort of like personality types for really sad nerds (/lh). aka, hogwarts houses but more complicated.
@dyketubbo wrote some INCREDIBLE classpects for ran and jackie. it was based off what we knew about their personalities (which wasn’t much) but it also helped us infer a lot MORE about their personalities by figuring out where they could go or how they probably think in their minds.
if you don’t know classpects you can probably do this with personality types. or, just, figure out your characters personality some Normal way. i wouldn’t know.
there was a lot more brainstorming i did (where i came up with ms. laramie, scoots, and clementine) and tried to come up with a basic plot of what would happen and what they would do. during this i did some research on a proper three-act story structure so my plot would hit just right.
during all of this, i watched a bunch of spy and futuristic flicks (not too intensely, just had them on in the background to absorb the vibes).
i then made a plot map once i figured i knew what was gonna happen
Tumblr media
(the last few chapters are on the other side of the paper, so you don’t get to see them haha)
a lot of this stuff got switched around or dropped completely as i was writing. honestly, the details don’t matter too much— the FLOW of the story is what’s important.
i’m very flexible with my scenes— literally what happens in a chapter is completely up in the air until i FINISH the chapter. sometimes they’re entirely different from my original ideas. it’s not too important to me what exactly happens, as long as it makes sense and i like it and it fits in with the rest.
in my mind, the events themselves are not as impressive as the characters in them. as long as i’m still developing the characters the way i need to throughout the story, and they eventually get to the plot points i need them to, i don’t worry too much about the specifics! as long as they’re fun.
i also didnt write chapter-by-chapter— i mapped the plot first, and then drew little dividing lines where i thought it would be good to end the chapter after. chapters are useful to me as pacing tools, but i didnt want the plot to seem too episodic by Planning it as chapters.
after i wrote the plot map, i did research on deserts, cities, and fantasy politics for DAYS. (i also watched videos on how fantasy militaries should work.) i ended up not using most of that information i came up with, but the parts that do leak through into my current writing do wonders to make the world feel real and alive. each character has a personality and a life, they aren’t just there to be background characters for ran and jackie.
then, i re-read a few books by authors who really inspire me. to get their narration voice fresh in my mind and feel really inspired
eventually we got to where we are now— i write the chapters and i post them!
as i’ve mentioned, i’m very flexible with my plot— so while i’ve foreshadowed certain things since the beginning, some parts of the story have only come perfectly together towards the end. and i have @shrugofgod to thank for that!
my wonderful editor is always willing to chat with me about what scenes and bits work and are most satisfying story-wise. of course lyssie also EDITS my chapters after they’re drafted — to make them more polished, and also ask me questions about things that are going on to clarify them.
many thanks to lyssie shrugofgod for making the story so much better :D
because my chapters have a tendency to get away from me and do whatever they want, if there’s certain plot things i need to hit in a chapter, i’ll outline the chapter before i write it.
Tumblr media
also, recently, (after coming up with one too many REALLY COOL scenes and lines in my head while cleaning, but then completely forgetting them later) i’ve implemented a protocol for myself to jot down anything that comes to mind WHEN it happens so i don’t forget.
Tumblr media
these are unprofessional and have spelling errors and all that, because i just wrote them really quickly, often while doing the dishes or laundry, lol.
so in conclusion:
um yeah that’s how i write knifetrick! i’ve never done this much work for any other fic though, so don’t feel like YOU have to. i did so much research for knifetrick because it was very out of my wheelhouse.
at most all i think is necessary for a good story is a plot map, and a hell of a lot of inspiration. (i got mine from music, movies, books, and drawing ran and jackie a lot, haha!)
make sure you’re having fun with your plot. writing won’t always be fun, but you should at least like your PLOT. because if you don’t then you won’t be inspired or enjoy it at all!

hello, my name’s noah and i’m looking for some new writing partners to make some beautiful storylines with on our own 1x1 site on jcink, on tumblr, or our own server on discord. i enjoy talking to my partners and sometimes like to talk scenarios more than write, but i do like to write. i just don’t tend to rush my partner’s, but i do like some communication of some kind at least once a week so i know that you’re still interested and that i’m not wasting my time.
currently, these are some of the plots that i’d die to have some people take up. so if you’re interested, please message me so we can give each other each other’s discord’s and begin discussing our plots together.
do not reblog.
mumu ideas:
gotham ocs:
so basically, an idea of basically a bunch of original characters who live in gotham city who interact with that world. they’re like, dealing with all the bullshit that come with living in that world, but they refuse to leave it because it’s their home and they love it. i kind of like the idea of batman and some of the other vigilantes going missing to cause drama so that we can make our original characters who take matters into their own hands. but if you want those characters around we can have them, i’m just like in awe of that world right now and think it would be so fun to have a a few ocs in it just living their lives.
dawning falls:
it’s been years since the lake and the woods were polluted with toxic waste. the mayor and the scientists at the local lab swear that nothing’s changed since then, and that everyone and everything’s been fine. however, those who are aware know that some people have been given abilities that go beyond what normal human beings can do. the town of dawning falls is kept in the secret due to these people, and no one can leave without special clearance. not only that, but no one can visit. the town isn’t even on the internet. you look it up and your computer’s given a virus so fierce you decide never to again. eventually, lorraine santos attempts to leave, discovers she can’t, and goes on to investigate the lab and the people of her small town. what really is happening here? she wants to find out, and you’ll find out with her. can bring in ocs or can just be like? a 1x1.
burn after time:
a mumu involving people raised to be assassins, in a world similar to the john w.ick universe where there are places where assassins go where they’re not allowed to make hits and have to keep the peace. but basically, there’s so many ways we can go about this.
s.ix of cr.ows inspired mumu:
a found family of criminals are hired to kidnap someone from a highly secure prison. we can copy the dynamics from the books or make up our own. but the ocs would be our own of course. i just think it would be a lot of fun just to explore these dynamics and this friend group that likely is there against their will, haha.
scientifically made supernatur.al beings on a different planet:
so like, vampires, werewolves, and ghosts are on a whole different planet, except they’re on a different planet and the only reason they’re this way was because of accidents due to scientific mishaps. could be fun to explore different dynamics. but if you just want supernatural beings on a different planet that works too.
we make our own magical world
like our own magical universe........hell yeah.
1x1 ideas:
my movie br.uce wa.yne x your nb or woman oc – we can discuss ideas. i just want to use him with an oc. it could be fun.
my matt m.urdock x your oc (any gender) – we can discuss ideas. I just want to use him with an oc
my character alexander in a time traveler’s wife type of plot. oooor a plot where your character is his arch foe and they always get stuck in a timeloop haha. his fc is rob.patz but i can use one of his alternate fcs if you don’t like that fc.
my character claudia daviau in a plot similar to cla.ire temple and ma.tt murdo.ck’s where she nurses a character to health after they get injured after a fight. she’s an art gallerist, in the daytime, tho and her fc is alexa dem.ie. i’m open to other plots with her tho cause i love her. any gender.
life & death raising a baby pls.
death & the maiden plot.
s.cream plot.
aphrodite x ares as a con-artist and assassin. pls.
hades x persephone where hades owns a burlesque club
a plot like ka.z & in.ej sob
message me here or like this post if interested.

“The Deal That Never Happened” — Sonny Corleone x Reader x Tom Hagen
Tumblr media
Summary: Tom and Sonny need Y/N's help to help them out.
Pairing: platonic!Sonny Corleone x Lawyer!Fem!Reader x ex!Tom Hagen
Author's note: (English is my second language.) ; First of all, I'm not a lawyer, I don't have any degree in area of law, I have no idea how these things work, but I had fun while writing it and doing some research! I don't know how did I come up with this plot ...but enjoy!
Author's note 2: Reader is Tom's ex girlfriend and events take place after Michael killed Sollozzo and McCluskey, but could not escape to Sicily. also, I was thinking about part. 2?
Warning: strong language, mentions of murder
THE DEAL THAT NEVER HAPPENED
The very original plan of the Corleone's revenge didn't turn out as one would expected. Michael Corleone did, in fact, kill both Sollozzo and McCluskey, but he was not able to catch a flight to Sicily. This was a key moment, which led to nothing but more trouble. While he was hiding, Tom and Sonny were thinking about the next step. The oldest Corleone boy wasn't entirely innocent either. Santino was guilty just as much as Michael, though he wasn't the one holding a gun. Michael, their brother was in grave danger, and that was the other reason they needed to react quickly. Violence was not an option anymore. The legal and diplomatical work of white-collared person was a necessity at that time. Luckily for them, Tom had this specific person in his mind. Y/N L/N. The greatest lawyer he ever met...and dated. When he told Sonny about his idea, he thought that Tom was joking, but eventually he changed his mind and was willing to ask her for help.
Y/N was always very busy, but never too busy to help her friend. Even though, she and Tom were not a couple anymore, she told him to always count on her when his world will fall apart. She was fully aware of an affair that recently happened with murdering Sollozzo and the police officer. She even knew that it had something to do with the Corleone family. In her field she was the best. That kind of person you really want to have on your side. Don Corleone himself once wanted to put her on his list of people he hoped that would help him one day. These people would get extra money and that was hell of a motivation. But Tom strongly disagreed with his adoptive father and said that he wanted Y/N keep far away from their family business. Don wasn't surprised by Tom's reaction, because he knew that Tom still cared about Y/N.
Their meeting held a place in their house, right in Don's office. When Y/N stepped out of a car, Sonny and Tom were already waiting for her. Tom was nervous as hell, but just like always he hid it quite nicely but not completely. Sonny smirked at Tom. „When was the last time you two saw each other?“ „Long time ago. Anyway. We're gonna talk business, so no unnecessary comments. Do you think you can do that, Sonny?“ Tom shot a glance to his brother and Sonny rolled eyes. „For a moment I thought I was hearing our father. I still don't like this idea, but it's the best thing we have now.“ When Tom saw Y/N coming to them, he immediately ran to welcome her. They politely shaked hands and Y/N gave him a faint smile. „Thank you for coming here so quickly. We- I appreciate it.“ Tom said a low voice and Y/N nodded. „Sure. No problem. I'm glad you called.“
Before falling in endless pit of awkwardness, Sonny jumped between them and welcomed her as well. „Let's go inside before this will get suspicious.“ he said with warm smile and all three disappeared behind the closed doors.
While Y/N was preparing her things, neither of Tom or Sonny dared to start a conversation. After 5 minutes, Y/N looked at Sonny, who suddenly started to feel not very cooperative. „Alright, Mr. Corleone. Take a chair and sit right in front of me. Don't ask, just do as I said. It will be more effective.“ Y/N stated as Sonny sat down with a grumpy look on his face. All of a sudden he felt less confident as usual. Their eyes met and both of them stared at each other more than it is appropriate. Y/N leaned back in big chair and put her hands on the desk in front of her. „If looks could kill.“ she smirked. Sonny frowned and Tom just quietly chuckled. „Let's take a look into your file, shall we?“ „Wait, I have a file? How's that possible?“ „Everyone who commited some kind of crime, has a file. But you have just one, because your father made sure that you have all your files destroyed. This one is considered as your first and only one, so let's act like it.“ Sonny's facial expression changed from being grumpy to being surprised to being a bit upset. He took out a cigarette from a little box and lit it. Y/N let out a sigh and opened the file. Then she looked at man in front of her with a sympathy, but it wasn't completely sincere. „You're upset, yeah, I get it. You are really someone– Don's first born.“ Sonny, well-known hothead, angrily pointed a finger at Y/N. „Watch your next words!“ „Sonny...“ Tom warned him.
After what happened to Don, Sonny was extra cautious what people were talking about his father. Y/N knew that Santino was kind of hard to work with, but she did not plan to give up on him. „Look, I'm just trying to do my job here.“ she smiled, „So..shall we get started?“ A smoke left Sonny's mouth as he nodded. Y/N started to pulling out bunch of papers from her bag and handed him a pen. „For the very start, please, uh, sign this...this..aaaand this.“ The oldest Don's son's jaw dropped a bit while looking at what he had to sign. He really thought that they are gonna just talk without doing the boring part. But still, without any more words, he signed everything. „Good, perfect! Such a nice handwriting you have.“ Y/N enthusiastically remarked while putting away signed papers. She could swear that Sonny's cheeks flushed with a pink color for a second. Tom watched them from his own desk in the office, and he felt so proud that Y/N agreed to take their case. Meanwhile, Sonny felt almost intimidated by her presence. „Ahh, sorry. I forgot about these papers...Here. I need another your signature. Just three more and we're done..for now.“ Sonny looked at Y/N like she was crazy, but signed it anyway. What else he could do. „You done? Perfect! You know, the bureaucrats...They always want their paperwork.“ Y/N giggled and shrugged her shoulders like it was normal thing. And for her it was. She loved doing her job, being a lawyer. Sonny finished his cigarette and after a few minutes of complete quietness, Y/N voice's echoed again. „Okay, listen. Let's get into your case..“ „Fucking finally.“ „Don't interupt me, Santino.“ „ ...Sorry.“ „I know what you are thinking. 'This is a mistake! I shouldn't be sitting here!' Well, they don't think that.“ she said that in high-pitched voice accompanied by wide smile on her face. Tom couldn't help but snorted and earned himself an annoyed look from Sonny, who certainly didn't find it amusing. „Thanks for the sympathy, but can we get into that case? We are kinda running out of time. I already signed those fucking papers, what more those dickheads want? I know this is a part of your job, I get it, but! Can we move on?“ the hothead miserably throwed hands into the air. Y/N eyes were fixed on him, not saying a word. She clicked her tongue and put her hands together. „Good. So you understand that I'm just doing my job here. The job you asked me to do.“ she whispered but her face was unreadable. „I was thinking. Your situation is pretty bad at the moment. But I think I have a solution of some kind. Listen, I'm here to strike a possible deal with you, but we will soon get to that part, okay?“ Sonny nodded and his eyes got a bit brighter when the part with a deal was mentioned. „Suddenly how excited you got. Wow.“ she chuckled for herself and shaked her head. „Uhm, so... How about take a look at your crime? You've been charged with Criminal Conspiracy with code 479. Okaaay. Let's see what it says here.. Yikes. Ordering and attempting a murder. But if I remember it correctly..You wanted to avenge your father, so you sent your brother, Michael Corleone, to kill Virgil Sollozzo and also police officer Mark McCluskey. Michael was supposed to make a deal. But that deal never happened. Are you following me?“ „ Yeah. I mean..all correct. So far. Continue.“ Y/N looked at Tom and he approvingly nodded. „You did what you did, and now we're having this conversation. But without Michael, because... we don't know his whereabouts. Too bad, because he was the one who killed them, not you. You only prepared it. Sounds like this is all your work. Oops.“ she raised her eyebrows, pulled her lips into a thin line and then let out a deep sigh. „Tom, are you familiar with criminal conspiracy, mostly when it comes to participation in it?“ she shot a quick glance at man sitting afar from them. He nodded. „In most states, those who have helped plan a crime but have not participated in the actual crime may be given the same sentence as the person who committed the crime himself.“ he responded and Y/N faintly smiled at his
correct answer. He did not forget these things and Y/N was genuinely happy about it. He may have been a consigliere at that time, but deep inside there was an amazing lawyer hidden in him. She stayed silent for a moment thinking about words what she was about to say and then quickly licked her lower lip. „I may or may have not a deal for you. It just depends on you. And on your cooperation.“ Sonny sat on the edge on his chair and looked into her eyes listening carefully. His anger disappeared. „Alright. What do I need to do then?“ A smug smile flashed on her lips and she shook her head. „This is not about you, Mr. Corleone.“
Silence. Sonny frowned at what she just said, but still confidently smiled like he understood. He was taken back. And Tom was too, but not as much as his brother. So far Sonny did not meet a woman that would have behavior like Y/N had. But in the end, it was her job. However, Sonny must have admitted that Y/N was super smart with lots of courage. Tom was right about her. However, Santino needed to think straight, he needed to focus. Y/N shrugged her shoulders. „Listen, if it was up to me, which is not up to me, it's up to the authorities above me, and they say that you are a criminal. But, if it was up to me...I would like your family to get out of this mess and continue living your lives.“

Do Fairy Tail? If so, then may present you celestial spirit mage Yuu
Oh, that’s a good idea actually. 👀
The Magic Mirror saying that Yuu has no magic and Yuu is like, “What do you mean I do have magic tho.”
Obviously no one believes them because the Magic Mirror said that they didn’t. In fact, everyone didn’t believe them until they used some gold key and summoned a fish lady. (It was very weird.) Yuu just summons spirits to their aid to help with overblots would be an interesting action scene.
But I think people would be interested about Yuu’s magic. Obviously it reminds them of Unique Magic, where the user shouts a special spell that only they can use. People are jealous Yuu doesn’t have to worry about overblotting. (But what if they could? Since they were thrown into a new world Yuu’s magic could have shifted to match similarly to Twisted Wonderland’s magic.) (WAIT OVERBLOT FORM OF CELESTIAL SPIRITS??? OVERBLOT AQUARIUS?)
Yeah, I can’t even imagine what sorts of interactions the cast would have with Yuu’s celestial spirits- oh my god what if Azul wanted Yuu to give him their keys instead of Ramshackle.
Me: Wow, I really like this scenario maybe I’ll write this-
My Brain still at 3 am: What if you write one of those Fanfiction.net fanfictions where Yuu is a celestial wizard that joins Fairy Tail and their keys are all Twisted Wonderland characters plus Grim and the staff.
Me: Brain wth.
Yeah, I also had this idea too. When I was younger I read a lot of Fairy Tail fanfics on Fanfiction.not. Especially crossovers, idk why I liked crossovers so much but two worlds interacting with each other is just 👌
Anyways, there was this one crossover trope where Lucy would get a bunch of keys and they were keys with a bunch of characters from a different world. Which is fun, but since I want to make this more original, I’m going to add onto this;
Yuu is originally from the Fairy Tail world and they were a celestial wizard. However their magic was useless since they didn’t own any celestial keys.
So they get thrown into Twisted Wonderland, do that canon plot, but eventually Crowley finds a way to bring them back home. Of course Yuu is happy to see their family again but also they’ll miss their new friends at NRC.
:0 Imagine when Yuu goes through the mirror they have this shared dream sequence with Crowley and they meet the Celestial Spirit King. And he makes a deal; since Yuu is a celestial wizard with no keys, he will make Yuu keys that can summon their friends they made back at home.
However the catch is that since their magic is untrained, Yuu will have to strengthen her magic to summon more powerful keys (Dorm Leaders, Staff, ect.)
From power needed the least to most, it goes; Grim, First Years, No group (Silver, Cater, Floyd, Ortho), Vice Dorm Leaders (Ruggie isn’t an official vice dorm leader but look at what he’s done for Leona, someone give him the title he deserves it-), Dorm Leaders, and Staff.
Crowley is like, “Huh ok. That’s fine. As your dad I will accept the deal.”
Honestly an excuse to see their friends at any point in time, Yuu is ok with that deal.
Yuu tells Crowley to warn everyone and then they wake up, black encased keys in their hand. They look at all of them and immediately know which one is which.
Back at their world, time seems to only have passed for a night. In fact, Yuu just told them that they had a dream about the Celestial Spirit King and he gave them the keys. Their parents believe Yuu and are very happy.
Then Yuu decides to go out to adventure and get stronger. Their parents fully support them, but remind Yuu to contact them every other week so they know Yuu is safe and sound.
When Yuu goes out, the first thing they do is summon Grim.
Grim is ecstatic! His henchmen hasn’t fully left him! Of course he’s a little sad to go back to Twisted Wonderland but since he’s going to be with Yuu almost all the time he doesn’t mind.
Since Grim takes up the smallest amount of magic Yuu has, he’ll be around them for days on end.
Small one on one reunions with Yuu’s friends are wholesome.
So Yuu goes on adventures with their friends to grow stronger.
Of course, things get a little heated up when Yuu eventually joins a guild to earn money. (Which guild? Up to your imagination. Make a new guild, have Yuu join Fairy Tail, anything really!)

The RotBTD+ Gang Plays DnD! (Feat. my ships, sorry not sorry XD)
So highkey I’ve actually been wanting to do a “The Gang Plays DnD” type post for AGES now, but then I saw @hobie-brown and @ohlooksheswriting-wips do DnD AU posts for RotBTD, and then I was like “Ah shit, I really should finish mine, eh?” So thank you to both of you for inspiring me to get off my ass and actually write the post!!!
Hiccup DMs. He comes up with this super complex plot revolving around dragons (because of course) where the party has to dismantle this society ruled by evil knights who want to genocide all of the dragons. Imagine his chagrin when the party wants to do nothing but fuck around in towns and aggravate NPCs 90% of the time.
They usually end up playing at Jack’s apartment, mainly because Hiccup’s dad doesn’t really want a bunch of loud nerds yelling about 20-sided dice in his household while he’s trying to work, if he can at all help it. Jack’s sister regularly barges into their living room and roasts the fuck out of Jack and his friends for being such damn nerds and eats all of their DnD snacks they’ve set out. If they’re in the middle of a combat session, she always gleefully proclaims that they’re all going to die. While Jack is annoyed by this, the rest of the party finds it deeply hilarious.
Jack Overland plays the absolute mayhem warlock Jack Frost, who got his powers through making a deal with the archfey Prince of Frost and has absolutely no qualms about being an evil god’s mortal Sower of Chaos. He spends the vast majority of the campaign doing such useful things as creating ice slicks under annoying NPCs and freezing people’s drinks. He also plays a Tiefling because absolutely no one can talk this boy out of playing the creepy demon race.
Rapunzel plays a woodland nymph druid who is also the party healer (because of course she is). Her name is probably Sunlily or something else suitably hippie-esque. Whenever there’s downtime (or whenever the rest of the party is also dicking around, and she can get away with it), Rapunzel likes to go into the nearest forest and pick the best berries and nuts for the rest of the party. She also loves baking fruit pies and cooking the best nymph food for her companions when given the chance. Definitely the party Cinnamon Roll (every party has one!). She often will turn into cute animals to distract the guards while the party infiltrates a building.
Merida’s character is the party archer and general ranged weapon master, as well as a raging lesbian. Hiccup learns very quickly that any male NPC who tries to flirt with her will very quickly get impaled with an arrow. She can’t ever decide if she wants to be a ranger or a rogue, so she multiclasses in both for flare. She also plays a Tiefling, and continually insists that her character is both scarier and sexier than Jack’s. In combat, she either Leeroy Jenkins her way in with a sword and just starts slashing every which way, or just shoots 90% of the enemies with arrows before the fight even starts. There’s really no in between. She can get away with this because she’s highkey one of the party tanks, and consistently deals a shitton of damage.
Anna plays a human bard, basically having read over the class options and going “Wait, in this one I get to make stylish medieval music??? And wear dramatic and garish outfits and a dumb hat??? And cast wacky illusion spells??? And do silly little magic tricks??? And INSPIRE EVERYONE??? Hell yeah, I’m in!!!” She mostly uses magic attacks in combat (definitely favors Tasha’s Hideous Laughter), but occasionally when she’s out of spell slots she’ll just take to slamming enemies in the face with her lute. She also has WAY too much fun with Vicious Mockery, let’s be real.
Elsa, upon hearing Jack’s character concept, rolls her eyes so far up in her head she can see her damn brain, and vows to play his concept, but serious–solely out of spite. She rolls up a super OP elf Chaos Sorcerer, filled with lots of brooding angst about how uncontrollable her winter powers can get if she isn’t careful. She combines it a bit with Storm Sorcerer so she can create literal blizzards, and Hiccup ends up allowing it just because he thinks it’s cool. Although Elsa’s character is undoubtedly aggravated by the rest of the party’s antics, she starts becoming grudgingly protective of these idiots and can deal some pretty crazy damage when her companions are threatened. She also contains one of the party’s only brain cells.
Eugene of course plays dashing rogue master thief Flynn Rider. Although his high deception and lockpicking skills certainly come in handy, he’s the most chaotic neutral fucker you’ve ever met and will take any excuse to rob NPCs blind or cheat them out of every cent they have in a tavern card game. It’s nigh impossible to get him to cooperate with the rest of the party much of the time, and often Elsa’s character has to either bribe him with some of her family’s gold or threaten to freeze him to stop him backstabbing one or more party members. Eugene’s character forces Hiccup to add in many more heist plotlines than he originally intended. This delights Eugene immensely, and sometimes he goes a bit crazy planning elaborate heists.
Moana plays a sorcerer water genasi. She can control any body of water, but she has a special affinity for controlling saltwater (i.e. the ocean lol). She also requests an animal handling bonus, but only with marine animals, solely because she thought it would be funny. She’s also an ex-pirate who robbed a lot of wealthy merchant ships and freed their slaves back in the day, which Merida thinks is incredibly badass. Moana tends to get bored and unengaged when there are no bodies of water to play around with, so Hiccup ends up having to add a lot more lakes, rivers, and oceans to the campaign than he originally planned on. Moana also takes a sailing skill, and thus the party often ends up traveling by boat. Typically Eugene and Rapunzel will infiltrate and hijack it, and Moana will sail it. Moana probably contains the party’s only other brain cell.
Astrid plays a gigantic berserker orc barbarian who is never without his trusty axe. Astrid is hands down the party’s top tank, and unquestionably deals the most damage every combat session. Much like Merida’s character, Astrid’s character is absolutely a shameless power fantasy. Hiccup pretty easily picks up on this, but is too polite to say anything about it. Jack also picks up on this, but is hardly as courteous as their DM, and teases Astrid mercilessly. Astrid is not amused.
Rapunzel requests that her weapon of choice be a frying pan, her justification being that her character found a discarded one at the edge of a human village outside her woods and mistaked it for a highly-dangerous human weapon. Hiccup is like “…you know what? Fuck it” and rolls up stats for a goddamn frying pan. Jack has nigh-endless admiration for Rapunzel for choosing such a goddamn memey, absurd, yet oddly effective weapon and it definitely makes the poor boy even more smitten with her than he already is.
Eugene and Merida have a bet going on who can sleep with more sexy barmaids. Merida is currently winning, much to Eugene’s chagrin. She’s not even inherently better at seducing NPCs, she and Eugene have the same charisma stat–she just consistently rolls better than Eugene. Eugene is incredibly salty about this.
Anna and Elsa want to be sisters in-game as well, but neither want to change their race–so Anna decides her character was adopted. Hiccup and the rest of the party go along with it, mainly because there’s something deeply hilarious about a regular human bard being adopted and raised by a family of high-powered elf ice mages.
Astrid is absolutely the sort of player who tends to get bored and restless outside of fights, and tends to fidget and twiddle her thumbs waiting for the next combat session. Jack picks up on this, and purposely does more roleplay for longer just to piss her off. He’s also just a very dramatic fucker and highkey loves roleplay.
When she’s not causing mayhem around the town or sleeping with hot women, Merida tries to entertain Astrid between combat sessions by offering to spar with her. Unfortunately, this does not usually end well for poor Merida, as even the most hardcore and badass of tieflings is prone to getting dumpstered by an 8-foot-tall barbarian orc with an axe. Astrid is, nonetheless, grateful to have someone to fight.
Rapunzel, Elsa, and Moana will humor Hiccup and attempt to actually play the main plot. Meanwhile, Jack, Merida, and Eugene are a DM’s worst nightmare. They constantly derail the damn campaign to fuck around, cause mayhem, and do inane shenanigans in every. Damn. Town. They go to. Anna is kind of a wildcard–she’ll typically go with whatever group looks like they’re going to be doing something more interesting. Astrid will go along with whichever group is more likely to get into a fight–which, often as not, is Jack and his posse of terrible Chaotic Neutrals (who have definitely pissed off a number of NPCs into attacking them).
As the campaign goes on, Elsa and Eugene become the beleaguered Party Mom and Dad. Both are quite aggravated by this–especially poor Eugene, who just wanted to play a morally-gray charming rogue who stole everything and got away with it and then accidentally ended up caring about these idiots he got stuck with.
Anna initially joins the campaign because she has a planet-size crush on Hiccup, and inevitably is the one who dragged Elsa into it too. Being the hopeless romantic that she is, Anna writes a love interest into her backstory. Hiccup eventually has the party run into said love interest, and Anna is overjoyed. He starts flirting with her as the love interest, and it’s easily the best 30 minutes of Anna’s life.
Moana and Elsa also give Hiccup pretty detailed backstories, and he works in little subplots for them. Moana gets to bring water back to a dying part of the jungle in the middle of a draught, while Elsa gets to go on a whole sidequest to explore her family history and how they came to be sorcerers.
Jack, Merida, and Eugene also give Hiccup fairly elaborate backstories, but Jack’s and Merida’s are like 99% memes and Dumb Shit. Hiccup tries to give all of them backstory-related plot hooks, but inevitably any hooks he provides are either stabbed, robbed, or frozen. Honestly any plot hook offered to these 3 will be all but spat in the face of and tossed off a cliff.
The one relevant part of Eugene’s backstory is that he and Rapunzel decide they used to be partners in crime before the campaign started. Rapunzel would infiltrate and scout out places he wanted to rob as small, unobtrusive animals (her preferred Wild Shape is a chameleon) and later distract the guards as a bunny or kitten while he went in and took every gold coin in sight. In return, Flynn Rider would bribe builders to not develop into Sunlily’s forest. Rapunzel and Eugene partly came up with this For Funsies, but also it was Rapunzel’s sneaky way of tricking Eugene into having prior connections in the party so he’d be less likely to betray them. It works pretty well–although the entire party is protective of Cinnamon Roll Sunlily, Flynn is certainly especially protective of her.
Astrid does the absolute bare minimum as far as backstories go. She is literally just here to smash stuff, slice people, and beat some fuckers up.
Rapunzel has a backstory, but she’s typically so invested in the main plot and the other party members that Hiccup rarely needs to bring it in to keep her engaged. She’s highkey the party emotional rock, and probably the only one keeping them all together.
On that note, Rapunzel’s character is the ONLY one who can get Jack’s character to take the plot even REMOTELY seriously. Like he’ll be dicking around in the nearest tavern challenging the nearest orc to a drinking game, and Rapunzel will come in and ask him to help them on a Main Plot Quest. And he’ll be like “come onnnnn I’m having funnn” and she’ll be like “Jack pleeeeeease?” and you just. Can’t resist Sunlily’s puppy dog eyes. At all. Also, whenever Sunlily is genuinely threatened, any silliness immediately goes out the window and Jack Frost is OUT FOR BLOOD.
For better or for worse, Rapunzel is not immune to being looped into Jack’s shenanigans. Occasionally if either Merida or Eugene have a particularly hare-brained scheme she’ll go along with it, but by and large Jack is the most successful in convincing her to temporarily abandon the plot and cause mild mischief with him. They once wasted half a session creating an elaborate “ice theme park” for some squirrels in the forest.
Hiccup tries to get Merida to play the main plot by eventually having there be no more sexy female NPCs to seduce in the towns they go to. Unfortunately, this backfires–Merida just hooks up with Moana’s character instead. When asked to roll for how good the lay is, Merida gets a nat 20–and thus her character and Moana’s character end up hooking up regularly throughout the rest of the campaign.
Hiccup introduces a few Wise Old Mentor-type NPCs to guide the party throughout the campaign. While Rapunzel, Elsa, Moana, and Anna actually try to listen to them and take their advice, Merida, Jack, and Eugene absolutely refuse to take them seriously and mercilessly play pranks on them.
At one point, Hiccup gives the party the option to attempt to tame a group of wild dragons and use them as mounts. They all have to make animal handling checks. Anna, Rapunzel, Elsa, and Moana pass. The rest of the party fails, with Jack and Eugene crit-failing. Hilarity ensues.
Hiccup ends up bringing back Anna’s backstory love interest as an NPC regular. Anna thinks he’s just being a good friend and a good DM and trying to incorporate her backstory as much as he can, but really, he just wants an excuse to regularly flirt with her. He hardly has the balls to out-of-game.
Merida comes out as gay toward the end of the campaign. Everyone in the group is extremely supportive, of course, but everyone is also like “Merida…with the amount of barmaids you’ve banged…and the amount of times you and Moana’s character hooked up…this isn’t exactly surprising.”
Hiccup actually finds a way to use Jack and Elsa’s same-concept-opposite-execution characters to the plot’s advantage. He decides one of the main villains will have a prophecy saying he’ll be taken down by a powerful ice mage. The party manages to fool this guy into thinking this ice mage is Jack, and sends Jack to fight him. As soon as the villain sees Jack, he’s like “WHAT??? THIS clown???” (word has absolutely spread throughout the land of Jack not using his ice powers for anything besides mildly annoying trolling). Naturally, the bad guy lets his guard down after thinking he’s going to fight this literal joke, and then Elsa crashes in from the side and absolutely dumpsters him.
Jack tries to defeat the final boss by just annoying him so much that he leaves. Unfortunately, he just annoys him so much that he attacks Rapunzel’s character. Jack’s just like “oh HELL no” and attacks with absolutely nothing held back. Turns out he’s pretty terrifying when he’s not using his magic for Dumb Antics.
During the final boss of the campaign, the Big Bad tries to one-shot Moana’s character, and Merida’s character super theatrically jumps in front of her to take the blow instead. Rapunzel just barely manages to heal Merida’s character, but it’s a really close call. During all this, Merida is like “ah shit...maybe I’m NOT just in this to get fantasy-laid.” After the fight’s over, her and Moana’s characters have a big dramatic love confession and share a Big Damn Kiss in front of everyone. It’s pretty epic.
After the final session of the campaign, Merida drags Moana outside Jack’s apartment and sputters and trips over her words for a solid minute before she finally gets out that through all this nonsense...well...maybe it’s not just in the game that she thinks Moana is hot. Moana just gets this HUGE grin on her face and says “c’mere, Leeroy Jenkins” and just pulls Merida in and kisses her. Cue the rest of the party barging in on them. Merida and Moana freeze, and there’s a moment of terrified silence...and then the entire party starts cheering them on like “took you long enough!”
The entire rest of the party could detect the sexual tension. Literally all of them.
But Eugene is like “HA, THIS MEANS IF WE DO A SEQUEL CAMPAIGN I’M WINNING THAT BET! BECAUSE YOU’RE GONNA BE DATING MO’S CHAR AND THUS NOT ABLE TO SLEEP WITH ANY MORE BARMAIDS!”
By the epilogue session, Jack and Rapunzel are dating. Merida and Moana are also dating. Hiccup and Anna STILL haven’t figured out why they’re so prone to spending half the session flirting when Anna’s love interest shows up, and Hiccup STILL hasn’t figured out why he likes to have Anna’s love interest show up so often. Bless their souls. Maybe they’ll figure it out next campaign...?
Damn I actually really like this...maybe if people like it I’ll do some incorrect quotes or a drabble or something??? Or maybe some HCs from next campaign???

Tell me about Raederle of An! I don’t know who she is and I want to know why you love her!!
Ok i actually just finished typing up the massive meta/prose poetry thing I've been writing about her, but I'm gonna post that separately so I will give the actually non-purple-prose version here 🤣
Warning: this is gonna contain A LOT of spoilers for Patricia McKillip's Riddle-Master trilogy. Proceed at your own risk!
ok so Raederle is the female main character in Patricia McKillip's Riddle-Master trilogy and she is AMAZING. the world the books are set in contains inherent land-magic that binds rulers to their kingdoms and gives them certain powers depending on where they're from (though other powers can also be learned, which is a plot point). An is one of several countries on the main continent, and it's split into three parts (called portions): Hel, An, and Aum. they're known for their famous pig-herds, a king who can shapeshift into the form of a raven, and an abundance of royal ghosts (thus one of the portions being called Hel. yes, there are several puns based around that fact).
Raederle is the only daughter of the king of An. this sounds a lot cooler than it is, because her dad is a little bit incomprehensible and part of his land-rule magic means that he has some semblance of foresight. said foresight is the reason he made a binding vow that only the man who could defeat an extremely famous ghost in a battle of the wits would be allowed to marry his daughter. in short, Raederle has spent her entire life as the prize in a near-cosmic bet, and it doesn't help that she is, canonically, the second most beautiful woman in all the three portions (and considered as such throughout the other nearby countries as well). this leads to her having a very fierce independent streak.
eventually, as it turns out, Raederle's brother's best friend (and her own childhood friend as well, bc she's always hung out with the boys) wins the riddle game that she was the prize in. enter Morgon of Hed, the titular Riddle-Master and the series' main character. the fun part is that he did not, in fact, go to play a game with a ghost in order to win Raederle's hand in marriage — he literally genuinely had no idea that was the deal, he just wanted to do riddles with an ancient ghost and also he won a fancy crown in the bargain. so anyway, turns out that Raederle and Morgon have had a mutual crush on each other since they were kids, and they're friends anyway, so this actually works out really well for them. (keep in mind that Raederle's dad has a bit of foresight, so he probably Knew from the beginning tbh.) but, alas, before they can even meet up again a bunch of stuff happens and apparently Morgon is some kind of Chosen One and he disappears for like. over a year.
Raederle is... arguably the most level-headed and well-adjusted character in the series, honestly. yeah she's hot-headed and kind of fits the "rebellious princess" archetype (she even runs away with two other land-heirs at one point, in an attempt to find Morgon) but she's also mature and knows how to make wise decisions without being as influenced by her personal emotions. she's not first in line for the throne, but she definitely has the instincts and a good personality to take up the mantle of land-ruler.
Morgon's issues as the "chosen one" and child of prophecy have to do with the whys of things — why is this happening, why is *he* specifically so important, why have other people and entities done the things they have, and why is it his responsibility. Raederle's issues, on the other hand, are more about identity (which explains why I love her so much. characters that struggle with or embody a struggle with identity are my jam).
like I mentioned before, Raederle's father has shapeshifting capabilities along with his foresight. it's eventually revealed that this is in part because their family has strong, previously forgotten and unknown ties to the original people of the land, the Earth-Masters, who also happen to be the current bad guys who are trying to start a worldwide magical war. cue Raederle, who's sensed that connection without realizing, has even drawn on that inherent magic, having more than a bit of an identity crisis. her magic is EXTREMELY helpful and she only ever uses it for good, but finding out that it comes from the Earth-Masters absolutely terrifies her and she becomes afraid of doing much more than lighting fires. it takes a long time for her to come to terms with the origins of her power, and the fact that despite its roots, it is still HERS and she can change the legacy of it.
there's a LOT of reasons I love her (some of which will probably come through when I post the huge thing I wrote about her earlier) and I'm not sure i can really explain it very well lol, I just like rambling about her??? she's sort of the princess-in-the-tower archetype, except that the trope is turned on its head by the riddle-game for her hand in marriage??? she's unabashedly feminine but still hangs out and is good friends with the boys, she's competent and not overly impulsive like a lot of fictional characters can be, she's just all-around a very good character. the second book in the trilogy is completely focused on her and it's my favorite, she teams up with two other princesses of different kingdoms and goes on a journey, plus she literally makes a deal with thousands of ghosts in order to protect her kingdom (I tried to google the chapter, since I don't have my copy of the book out right now, but I couldn't come up with anything... the author has said it's based on smth that happens in LOTR, but honestly just Raederle and the ghosts of Hel is my favorite chapter in McKillip's entire trilogy.). also, she has two brothers and the dynamic between the siblings is AMAZING, Ms. McKillip writes siblings so well honestly.
anyway this is long and sort of incoherent lol, I kinda lost my thread halfway through 😅 i very very much recommend the Riddle-Master trilogy if you're looking for something to read, Raederle is probably my favorite female fantasy character ever, thanks for taking my ask bait haha!
