#but yeah the studio audience thing was fun
Text
I got to be in the studio audience for a tv show today and the dress code was to wear smart casual in dark colours so as not to stand out and be distracting in the crowd
but while we were waiting to go in this guy behind us says this not-so-quietly to himself about someone walking past
"they said smart casual not smart cheap whore"
my friends and I immediately turn around to clock who this fucker is (I feel like y'all can see this coming but surprise surprise he's an old white fucking boomer) and one of my friends without missing a beat eyes off his brightly coloured also-not-on-theme shirt and says
"they said smart casual not smart my wife just left me"
the room was crowded and noisy and he didn't seem to hear it but I dream I pray I hope with every fibre of my being that he secretly did and dies mad about it because he was too much of a coward to say anything

God, the news that Zelda might be getting a movie by illumination.
IdonotwantitIdonotwantitIdonotwantitIdonotwantitIdonotwantitIdonotwantitIdonotwantitIdonotwantit
Please god no. I am more pessimistic than Ninjago fans two months ago.
I don’t want it in 3D, I don’t want it to be goofy, with that same sense of humour that dominates all those movies that become phases for a month.
I don’t want the big selling point to be “x famous actor is playing big role”, the film media seems to saturated by the same people anyways.
If there were to be a movie then I’d wish it be created because the film makers were inspired by the game and had visions of how they could translate it into their own art but no. Pokémon got it’s new movie. Sonic got its new movie. Mario got it’s movie. Zelda is just another checkmark in a list of soulless opportunities for corporations to capitalise on already popular things.
It really feels like the movie industry is trying to capitalise on our childhoods by remaking the same shit in the exact same style.
I’ll only change my mind if they make a movie that is goddamn beautiful but I dread the cheap tropes, the tired writing that this will give us.
What will it be? Dumb noob Link will adventure with smartass woman Zelda and she’s only agreed to it bc the circumstances are dire, and throughout the movie Link gets more proficient at what they’re trying to do and starts to earn Zelda’s romantic interest but halfway through something bad happens and either link makes a mistake or quits and zelda is disappointed in him and leaves to go face evil alone and then link will come back and save the day and kiss the girl.
I can see that happening. It doesn’t even contradict the canon, zelda at its core was original the “save the princess” game. But if the make that it will be so boring.
You can totally make a Zelda movie and do it right I just don’t think they will.

based on this hilarious video with Gianmarco Soresi whom I’ve been watching his comedy work for a few months now
read on ao3
“What do you do?” The standup of the hour - the guy had introduced himself as Eddie - points at Steve.
Flustered at the attention directing every eye in the club to his table, Steve tries not to stammer as he answers, “Well, uh, I make movies.”
“Oh!” Eddie genuinely looks interested. “So you’re a director?”
“Yeah, pretty much. At least I started out as an indie, but I have a big project that’s out and a couple more on the way.” One table nearby claps and Steve tries to wave them off to stop.
“So what was that big project? Was it something we would’ve seen?” Eddie repositions himself so he has one leg up on the stool. Steve stares at how lean they seem with the tight black jeans. He’s got them daddy long legs. His brain suddenly burps out and it nearly makes Steve lose his composure.
“Uh, ha, I did The Final Bat. It’s on Shudder.” Steve shrugs nonchalantly, perfectly hiding his internal cringe. The horror genre is way out of his league and Steve’s already seen The Final Bat being on a few critical lists damning the title as another cliche-filled mess. He only did it because he had finally caved to Dustin’s pleading to make at least one horror movie.
Eddie, on the other hand, seems ecstatic by this revelation. “No way! That’s sick, dude! So the next time you make a horror flick, you’re gonna watch Blumhouse and A24 coming in at each other with steel chairs for distribution rights.”
Everyone laughs, including Robin. She smacks on Steve’s bicep with a wide grin. He smacks her back before he turns back to Eddie and clarifies, “I don’t like horror! I’m not doing it again!”
Aghast, Eddie throws an invisible hat to the ground and stamps on his feet. “Come on! Then what’s the point of watching the studios bite each other’s dicks off when you’re slipping out to watch - I don’t know - the Barbie movie! Now they’re just fighting for the next shitty horror movie to exist!”
Steve covers his mouth but fails to hold back in the laughter. Eddie’s infectious energy is starting to get to him. It makes his chest clench with something other than the usual pains.
Eddie patiently waits for the patrons to quiet down before continuing, still attentive to Steve, “I’m just wondering actually if you ever done theater class.”
“Sure did! Two years in high school,” Steve confirms.
“Let me guess, they did Hamlet?” Eddie raises an eyebrow like it’s meant to be accusatory.
“Yep, soon after I joined.” Steve nods, the memory of that production flashing before his eyes. It had its ups and downs but it was one of the most fun things Steve had ever experienced.
“No wonder they started as soon as your handsome ass walked in the club.” Eddie says low and flirtatiously into the microphone, staring directly into Steve’s eyes. It echoes across the room and back, bringing the howling laughter with it.
Heat crawls behind his face. Steve keeps his hands on the table, forcing down the urge to hide behind them. “I-” He stops to cough, “I wasn’t supposed to play Hamlet.”
Eddie’s eyes go wide, “What do you mean?!”
Robin answers loud enough for everyone to hear, “He was the grave robber, but the other guy who did Hamlet got into a coma a week before the show and Steve knew all the lines.”
“W-Woah, woah, woah!” Eddie holds his hands out, looking scandalous. He throws looks around the club. “Everyone, shut the fuck up right now! This is more important than caring about the rest of you!” Eddie drags the stool over and perches on it like a very much invested gargoyle, almost oblivious to the audience’s reaction.
“Okay, let me go through this.” He points at Steve, still holding eye contact as if Steve’s soul would provide the answer. “You weren’t Hamlet. You were meant to be the guy who gives him the skull to monologue. The OG Hamlet got into a coma for some reason-“
“Car accident.” Robin interjects.
“Yeah, no need to elaborate, ma’am. You, Steve-” Eddie breaks off for a second, holding back a laugh of his own. “You somehow knew all the Hamlet lines because you were waiting to skin OG Hamlet’s head and make his skull yours to do the monologue.”
There’s a scandalous outcry from all tables. Even when they mostly calm down, Steve uses the growing anticipation to ‘think’ about what Eddie just said before he casually shrugs and says, “Sounds about right.”
Eddie drops his face into his arm, letting everyone laugh at him. Steve lets himself break, his laughter bubbling out of him in a way that doesn’t sound so self-deprecating or hollow. If he was in a cynical mood, he would’ve thought it was pathetic that the only person who made him laugh so lightly again was some random standup.
After a moment, Eddie finally looks up, his face broken in disbelieving grin. He chuckles into the mic and looks back at Steve, “Sorry, it’s just I hear some wild stories in the crowd some nights and I think yours takes the cake.”
Steve smiles, “Thanks, man.”
Eddie stands up back, half-leaning onto the stool. “Do you still remember those lines? To be or not to be?”
The whole damn thing. “Uh… some of it?”
Eddie’s grin shifts into something more mischievous. “Let’s see who knows more.”
A collective oooh goes around the room, including Robin. She already has her phone out for recording. Steve rolls his eyes at her and takes a quick sip of his water. He clears his throat and starts, “‘To be or not to be, that is the question.’”
“‘Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune..’” Eddie says without missing a beat.
Oh, he thinks he knows it all. The sense of competition that Steve thought had died out with his future of a sports career reignites in his chest. He sits up even straighter. “‘Or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them.’”
“‘To die-to sleep, no more.’” Eddie slowly walks over to the edge of the stage, “‘And by a sleep to say we end the heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to.’”
“'tis a consummation devoutly to be wish'd.’” Steve almost shivers as he recites the line, uncertain if it’s from the club’s cooling temperatures or the intense gaze from Eddie’s eyes. “‘To die, to sleep.’”
“‘To sleep, perchance to dream—ay, there's the rub,’” Eddie suggestively rubs a hand on his chest as he squats down. Steve’s eyes flicker to the hand, almost hypnotized by the motion. Nay, he shakes himself out of it. No distractions!
“‘For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, when we have shuffled off this mortal coil.’” It’s getting harder to remember the following lines. That hasn’t happened before. Steve has never forgotten the damn soliloquy in years, even when other people try to challenge him.
Eddie continues, “‘Must give us pause—there's the respect that makes calamity of so long life. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, the oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely.’”
“‘The pangs-’” Steve feels his breath catching in his throat when he realizes, for the first time, what beautiful eyes Eddie has.
Oh.
Eddie suddenly perks up in excitement. For a second, Steve thinks that Eddie has come to the exact same thoughts for him. But then he remembers that he hasn’t completed his line, so Steve feigns defeat.
“I win!” Eddie stands up with a triumphant cry. He spreads his arms out to embrace the cheering whoops and applause. “And I’ve only got to play Hamlet in-” He spins around and crouches down so he can look Steve in the eye again as Eddie’s voice booms into the mic, “-FOURTH GRADE, MOTHERFUCKER!”
Steve’s not even mad. He just throws his head back, laughing and clapping along.
Almost too soon, Eddie moves on to heckle on another table. But he keeps glancing over at Steve, his smile widening every time. And Steve smiles back, feeling a laugh slip out of his slips at every joke. He watches Eddie more closely, feeling his heart pound faster in his chest the more Eddie stays onstage.
By the time Eddie has to depart and thank everyone for being here, Robin announces her need to go home and snuggle with her girlfriend.
“Man, that was the most I’ve ever laughed in this place.” Steve stretches his back, groaning at the little pops. God, being in his early thirties can be a bitch sometimes.
Robin only hums, moving her eyebrows up and down suggestively. Steve pointedly makes no further comment as he pays the tab.
Outside, the crisp night air welcomes him. Steve takes in a whiff, staring up at the light-polluted sky as he bids Robin a goodbye. Then he hears his name being called. He turns around and sees Eddie hurrying out the doors.
Steve feels a smile already on his face, “Hey, Hamlet.”
Eddie grins at him, teeth and all, “Hey, yourself.”
They stare at each other but it lacks the competitive intensity earlier. Steve likes this. But he already has a feeling that this won’t be the first time either one of them would challenge the other.
“Sooo…” Steve says when the silence stretches a little too long. He gestures between himself and Eddie, “Wanna restart our introductions?”
Eddie’s eyes brighten, “Yeah! Right, sorry.” He clears his throat and thrusts a hand out. “My name is Eddie Munson. Self-proclaimed comedian and musician. You may recognize me as the guy who beat you in Hamlet’s famous speech.”
Steve takes his hand. Eddie feels bony and thin, but large enough to fit perfectly into Steve’s palm. He tries not to sound so eager as he says, “Steve Harrington. Film director who doesn’t like horror. Believe it or not, I actually know the whole stupid thing.”
Eddie tilts his head, narrowing his eyes, “Really? Like, no offense, but even if you remember that much-”
“‘And thus the native hue of resolution is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, and enterprises of great pith and moment with this regard their currents turn awry and lose the name of action.’” Steve winks with the Harrington Charm, smile and all.
Eddie stares at him for so long that Steve feels his heart racing for a different reason. And then, Eddie turns around and muffles a loud scream into his free hand. When the man turns back to face him, he’s sporting the widest smile Steve has never seen.
“You knew the whole thing!?” Eddie’s eyes sparkle with utter adoration.
“Yep.” Steve pops the ‘p’, grinning like a little shit.
“But why did you forget that line?”
“Let’s just say,” Steve squeezes Eddie’s hand, intertwining their fingers together, “I got distracted by the pangs of love.”
Eddie bites on his lower lip as he swoons his body over so they are pressing against each other. With half-lidded eyes, Eddie whispers, “You know that part is Hamlet referring to missing his dead dad, right?”
Of course Steve couldn’t help but kiss him.

A more in-depth guide for creating visual novels, especially in the horror, horror-romance, etc circles
Some of you have seen my previous, smaller post on crafting visual novels, especially in this little space of Tumblr that a lot of us have found themselves in. Since that post took off, I've wanted to create a longer guide to help touch on some points I've thought about for the past few months.
In case you've never heard of me, I'm Kat, also known as catsket. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Design. I've been making games for nearly 5 years, and I've been doing visual novels more "professionally" for 2. You may know me for Art Without Blood, 10:16, God is in the Radio, or Fatal Focus. I'm here to help you make your first visual novel.
Please note that my advice does not fit everyone, and you may disagree with what I say. That's okay! It doesn't work for all. That's why there's thousands of resources out there.
Tumblr media
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NEVER MADE A GAME
So, you have an idea for a huge visual novel. Horror, a shady and obsessive love interest, a little bit of woo-hooing. 100k words. Maybe a million. What is this, the 07th Expansion?
I notice a lot of people getting into visual novels are artists first. That's okay! I wanted to do art for games before I realized how much I enjoyed writing. And even less of you have probably touched Visual Studio. Again, perfectly okay. We all start somewhere.
My number one piece of advice? Make shitty games.
What does that mean?! My recommendation to those who have never done games is to make a bunch of shitty ones. Think of a theme, or hell, even join a game jam, where you make a game that fits a theme in a short amount of time. Spend about a week on your game. Focus on making something polished. Polish your mechanics. Polish your output.
I recommend, if you can, to make at least 4-6, if not more, kind of shitty games before hopping into longer projects. Making a game is a skill, just like art, just like writing. And game development is combining ALL of these together into one big soup being stirred by a skeleton hand puppet. You'll get into the rhythm and see what works for you.
It also helps you learn, perhaps, the second most important thing here: do you even like making games? There are cases out there where people have created video games (not saying visual novels) just for clout. That's no fun for you, that's no fun for your players. And you might go through this process and find that you don't like making games. That's completely okay! It's not for everyone.
Also, you can use these shittier games to gather an audience. I've built my audience because, for the past few years, I've been releasing games that slowly give me growing fields of eyes every day. A success story overnight is a rare one. It takes time. It's like building a brand, but you aren't a brand, you're an artist.
REV UP YOUR ENGINES!
Ren'py is the number one engine you will be recommended. It is very beginner-friendly, with lots of tutorials, assets on itch.io to use and download, and support. The engine comes with a few tutorials in the form of games, whose code you can freely browse. This is the engine I use most often. Most visual novels you see are made in this engine.
Twine is a text-based engine that most people use for interactive fiction. You can add images and audio, though, if you don't mind messing with HTML. I use Twine for text games and for outlining for my larger games. Ever played Degrees of Lewdity? Yeah, I know you have. Don't ask why. That game was made in Twine.
RPG Maker has multiple versions and has been used for exclusively VNs if you don't mind fucking around with plugins. It can definitely give your game a super unique feel. I recommend RPG Maker MV, since it has the most resources. This line of engines usually costs money, but it often goes on sale for under $5-$15.
People will recommend TyranoBuilder, but as a user and player, the lack of options and the format the games often come in is just...not fun to navigate. It advertises itself as little to no code, but it's often evident in the final results. Some good games have been made in it, though, so if you want to use it for prototyping/practice, you can. I'm not a fan, but that doesn't mean that fans don't exist! This engine costs money.
Not an engine, but check out Ink! Super useful scripting language that's used for more professional projects.
DEMOS, DEMOS, DEMOS
You've got an idea for a long-term project, and now you want to show it to the world! But wait, wait, don't do that yet!
When should I start advertising my game? This is a personal opinion, but I say that you should not start advertising your game until 50-60% of your demo is complete. Why? As I've discussed with some fans of indie VNs, they can name quite a few projects that have been in the "working on the demo" age for 1-2+ years. I've been in the Kickstarter MMO circles. If you, making a single-player experience with little mechanics to balance and polish (aka a visual novel), are taking that long on a demo, I am going to assume the game is not coming out. There are some games I have seen out here that have been in "working on the demo" phase where I haven't seen a single ounce of what the project will look like.
What should I put in my demo? The purpose of a demo is to showcase the mechanics and the vibes and the mechanics of your game. It's a demonstration. In my last post, I pointed to the Dead Space 2 demo that was showcased at E3 (RIP), that takes place about 2 hours into the story and shows how enemies are defeated, some animations, bits of the story, etc. Usually, because it's less about mechanics and more about vibes, visual novel demos showcase a certain percentage of the full thing (5-10%.) Can you showcase the vibe of the game here and what players should expect? If not, show off another portion.
How long should I work on my demo? Before, I said 3-4 months. That can be true, that can also not be true. Think about how long the demo takes you in proportion to how long the actual game should take you. Don't put too much effort. The demo is to showcase the vibe. It's to see how much the public and fans may enjoy the game.
My game is 18+, what should I do? Make a splash screen when the game is downloaded to let players know your game is 18+. If it's going to contain sexual content, you can hide it with itch.io's adult content filter. Write it on the page itself that your game is for adults only. Don't put your demo behind a paywall. This is genuinely ridiculous. The purpose of a demo is to showcase what a game is like before a player purchases it. That defeats the point of a demo. I've seen this happen, and it discourages players from approaching, especially because most demos never make it past the demo phase. So...I'm paying you $10 for 2-3k words of a game that may never come out?
Should I make a social media for my game? YES! Go for it. These anchors are how people will find your game. Make a Tumblr and open that ask box. Make a Twitter. Go to BluSky. Advertising is not bad. Some YouTubers even take e-mail suggestions from developers. Feel free to shoot your shot. The worst they can do is not respond.
HOW TO SET UP YOUR ITCH.IO PAGE:
Getting your itch.io to a presentable state can be very challenging! There's many ways to do it. I highly recommend using this page image guide for learning how to size your images to make your page pop!
Itch.io themselves has suggested to not publish a page until the game or demo is released. You can make the page and keep it as a draft, but do not publish it until you're ready!
Your cover image is the image that will appear in the search of the website, on any front pages, in collections, and on your profile. What have I seen that works? Key art of one of the characters up close and the title of the game! If you can make it a .GIF, do it! Bitches love .GIFs!
Itch.io recommends 3-5 screenshots on your page. I recommend 1 of these 5 be a .GIF that shows how gameplay feels. This is effective, even for visual novels!
Write a 3-5 sentence summary about your game for the description. What is your story about? What is the draw?
DO NOT BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO IS GOING TO SAY "This is not like other visual novels. It doesn't have that cheesy this or that or-" No one cares. Genuinely. You're putting down other games in your genre and elevating yourself to the pompous level.
TAG YOUR GAME! itch.io gives you a list of tags to choose from when you go to tag. DON'T USE THIS! Try to go for more specific tags. Arimia has a very good guide on how to use itch.io's tagging system to your advantage.
GENERAL GAME MAKING ADVICE
SCOPE KNIFE IS SUPER USEFUL! Everyone makes games that are way over their workload. It's okay to cut out features and add them later. Prioritize making a finished game before hitting those stretch goals.
PLAN, PLAN, PLAN! Writing outlines is super helpful. I use Twine for my outlines, because you can connect your passages together and make really well-thought webs.
IT'S OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP! Whether it's from friends, professionals, or anything in-between. They can help with assets, editing, etc.
HONE YOUR SKILLS OUTSIDE OF GAMES! Write some poetry. Do some sketches everyday. Improve on your craft to improve your games
MUSIC IS HARD. THERE ARE RESOURCES. Most of us aren't musicians. That's okay. Make sure the music you get for your game is allowed to be used. You can use anything non-commercial if your game will not cost money or donations. I try to do songs in the public domain or free to use overall with credit if I don't have a musician. Consult the Creative Commons website if you're unsure how you're supposed to use a certain piece of music. If you don't use the right stuff, not only can it put you in legal trouble, but it can put streamers in hot water if they play your game and they can't upload the video because music is copyrighted.
PLEASE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR UI. Wanna know an easy way to get your game to look more professional? Edit the damn UI for your game. Make a new textbox, even if it's just a black box. Change the font. Eventually, players recognize the defaults and patterns of games made in certain engines and may attribute a lack of UI changes to a developer being lazy. It doesn't take very long to change the colors around and move text! Please do it to add a little pop to your game.
DEADLINES ARE AWESOME. Not everyone works well under pressure, but if you give yourself an infinite amount of time to make something, it'll never get done. Set goals for yourself for how much you can work on something.
IF YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP, GIVE UP. Making things is hard, especially long-term. Emergencies happen, jobs happen, life happens. Let your fans know that a project isn't happening anymore. Don't leave them in the dark. You don't need to tell strangers your medical history or anything, but transparency + honesty are really hot traits. You should use those in your creative work. This is one reason why I advocate for not publishing or advertising things until you know it's stable.
SHOWCASING YOUR CONTENT
People love to see WIPs for games! This is what the devlog is good for! A devlog is a post where a developer talks about and showcases some things happening in the game? What can you add to your dev log?
PERCENTAGES! How much of the artwork is done? How much of this character's route is done?
SNEAK PEEKS AT ARTWORK AND SPRITES!
GIFS! GIRLS LOVE GIFS!
Anything else to showcase your game's content! Posting consistent updates retains and even gains a fan's attention for your work.
RUNNING YOUR TUMBLR
You've joined us, and you've made a Tumblr for your blog! Link it on the itch.io page, so people can come find you after playing your awesome demo!
Do I have to respond to every ask? No. It's your blog. Delete whatever asks you want.
I got a hate comment! What do I do? Delete it and move on. I have a more detailed section on hate below.
I want to interact with [blog]! How do I do that? Reach out to the devs for silly little collabs. If you come onto a developer slightly headstrong, they might feel you are being abrasive or using them for content.
If people make fan content, interact with it! Encourage it! Reblog it. Show your love.
OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS
PROFESSIONALISM IS KEY. These may be pet projects, but you want to appear some level of professional on your actual itch.io page.
Being dismissive of player and fan complaints or criticisms will make you appear childish.
If your game is broken, fix it. I have been told by some amateur developers to ignore game-breaking bugs. It does not make me, a player, want to engage with your content. It seems messy and unfinished.
With the above point, it's 100% okay to have bugs and errors upon release. Every developer and their brood mother has. To decrease these issues, get playtesters. Friends can play your games, spot any errors, and help you point out things that can be improved upon. I recommend having playtesters at every stage of development.
Make sure your game runs before you publish it. Please.
You can still be silly and giddy! There's no reason to not be, especially when you get positive comments! The point of this is to not be outright rude to potential players and fans.
IGNORE HATE COMMENTS. In this case, a hate comment is a statement that contains no constructive criticism and are only here to be insulting or malicious. People are going to leave you with actual piles of dog shit in your ask box. They are trying to provoke you. Giving hate comments any attention, even if you're there to "clap back" proves that they got to you, even if you don't take the hate to heart. They will continue to pester you. Delete any hate comments and ignore them completely. Laugh about them with friends in a private setting, sure.
THINK BEFORE YOU REFERENCE! I know one big thing in this community is adding references to other games in yours, such as plushies of other characters or putting them on posters. The best thing you can do it ask the developer before adding this. How would you feel if some random person you've never met put your character in a video game? Most of us would feel weird and potentially violated. Open communication with devs is awesome. I am usually okay with it as long as someone asks for permission.
As a complete aside, I prefer more tasteful references to other games as opposed to 523482346 plushies and posters. These have been slightly overdone. Why not theme a candy after another game's character? Maybe your characters know each other.
OTHER RESOURCES I RECOMMEND
Devtalk is a server dedicated to independent visual novel creators. You can find jobs, resources, advice, talks, and, like, everything there! Devtalk is super useful. Everyone in there is so cool. They have a really great and comprehensive list of resources that I could not even begin to cover.
Visual Novel Design is a great YouTuber. No other words, check the guy out!
Ren'py and whatever other engine you're using has documentation that's super useful to follow.
Arimia not only has amazing VN resources, especially for marketing, but she also just has? Amazing games that you should check out?
And for a shameless self plug, I'm the lead of Sacred Veins, a collective of devs creating narrative games, whether it be horror, humor, romance, or everything in-between. Come hang out with us!

"Moth to a Flame (part 5)"
Bada Lee x Reader
Tumblr media
part 4 ⟵ part 5 ⟶ part 6
series masterlist
summary: y/n l/n is the youngest team member of Jam Republic, competing in the second season of Street Woman Fighter. she’s got the sweetest smile and the most vibrant personality, but she also may or may not be the biggest hothead on the show when it comes to defending her teammates. apparently that’s attractive to Bada Lee.
word count: 6k
warnings: swearing, angst, y/n is a little psycho asshole in this chapter, but like- bada.... eeh scary, a lot of plot changes cuz I like playing the victim lol, not proofread, ending was kind of rushed, nothing i write is a reflection of anyone's true character and is a work of total fiction
Tumblr media
Shortly after Rie Hata’s message finished playing on the monitors all teams wrapped up their fun and began heading back to the studio to begin preparing for the mega crew mission. They all dry their hair and get changed, reapplying their makeup to prepare for filming again, when the host appears with another message. He congratulates the remaining teams for surviving, and at the mention of Tsubakill’s elimination y/n and the rest of Jam Republic immediately frown.
Daniel continues to explain the mission and informs them that there will be three different concepts that they have to use, but the way they will be decided is by group discussion. On top of that team Bebe has the benefit of going straight for whatever concept they want without discussion. The three creative prompts consisted of ‘outdoor’, ‘structure’, and ‘all gender’.
“Ooh we could definitely do something sick with structures” Audrey perked up and her partner-in-crime nodded in agreement before speaking
“Yeah but honestly I think we could do well with any of these…” y/n countered smirking cockily prompting Emma to hum and hold out her hand for a high five.
“I personally feel like we should go for outdoors. I already have so many ideas for what we could do and I know some of you do too…” the leader chimed in, eyeing Ling and Y/n at the mention of other members having ideas. They decide to have their three creative directors be Kirsten, Ling, and Y/n and the three begin coming up with their own separate ideas, with the help of another member.
When the crew came back together after a few moments of planning and creative briefing, they all shared their ideas. Kirsten came up with the idea of showcasing the beauty of New Zealand since it was most of their crew’s homeland- she wanted to shoot on the beach and have the rocks behind them. Ling’s idea was to take more of an approach that would appeal to their Korean audience, by incorporating more K-pop dance styles and music and shooting in the heart of the city with all the lights in the back. Everyone really liked both ideas, but y/n’s quickly became their favorite when she explained it.
“Okay so this might be too much, and could easily get muddled- but what if we did a sports theme? Like- we each represent a different sport or activity while also representing our culture or background… each of us could get a highlight and we’d all have our “teams” that would dance in our own styles- then we’d all come together in the end as a sort of pep-rally type thing…” y/n finished off the basic ideas of her take, and everyone immediately either nodded or clapped, thoroughly impressed with how quickly she had come up with such an elaborate idea.
“And this is exactly why you’re here girlfriend- forever a genius…” the leader nodded and smiled at her youngest, clapping her hands slowly and appreciatively. It was an idea that could work with all three concepts so the team decided to mark y/n’s as the top choice as of right now.
When all the teams gathered to pick their concept Jam Republic and Bebe were the only groups that chose something other than ‘structure’, Jam Republic sticking to their outdoor idea and Bebe going with the all gender category. After the pink team explained why they picked what they did, it caused Deep n Dap to change their pick to outdoor as well, saying it was because they felt their crew could easily rival Jam Republic, which caused Kirsten to maturely and professionally nod, while y/n covered her mouth and snickered.
After Jam Republic has guaranteed themselves a spot in the outdoor concept, they head back to their team hideout and begin to plan out their ideas in full. Y/n already begins to map out choreography for her and Ling’s sections, while Emma does the same for herself and Audrey, leaving Kirsten and Latrice to pair up. The girls decided to head back to New Zealand and take advantage of the scenery as part of the expression of their members’ culture. It was a nice blend of y/n and Kirsten’s concepts.
______
Y/n and Bada hadn’t really talked much since they began preparing for the Mega Crew mission, both focusing on their team’s success. Although they still texted daily, sometimes it was only a quick good morning or goodnight, while other times they had fuller conversations.
‘Have a safe flight, text me when you land plz!’ y/n read the message right before she got on the plane. She felt her heart swell at the little gesture of care, hearting the message and replying with a selfie of her in the airport paired with the words ‘thank you lovey, I will <3’.
Jam Republic boarded their plane and took off from South Korea to New Zealand, with many plans already going wrong as soon as the plane was in the air. You see, they had just been informed of how bad the weather was in the area, then about how many of the dancers they called for wouldn’t be able to make it. Each member was responsible for contacting and securing 10 members to come dance with them, explaining how the show would be paying for their trip and all the dancers had to do was show up and give it their best. It started off really well, with each of them actually coming back with more than 10 dancers. Then the weather hit. Flights were canceled or delayed to the point where people wouldn’t make it in enough time to learn the dance. On top of that, their idea to shoot at the beach was totally scrapped due to the intense winds. With the major setbacks of losing over half their dancers and not being able to use their original scene, the girls had to redo choreography and practically start the whole project over.
“This can’t be happening…” y/n was the first to start spiraling, ever the drama queen- but this time it was very justified. All six members of the crew stood in a circle in the middle of the studio floor, eyes flitting back and forth between each other and their leader, who was staring at the floor deep in thought. Kirsten let out a huge sigh and crossed her arms tensely.
“I’m sorry girls… but I really don’t know what we’re gonna do…” the leader ran her hands down her face and let out another deep breath, turning away for a moment with her hands on her hips. At that moment, the youngest realized how serious the situation really was, seeing as her leader wasn’t presenting her usual calm self. Typically when there was an issue, Kirsten was calm, cool, and collected- even if it seemed unsolvable… she always had an answer no matter what.
y/n being the perfectionist she is, began racking her brain for any possible solutions, already feeling her lungs begin to collapse at the possibility of complete failure. On top of being a perfectionist, the young girl also had a pretty bad case of savior complex, feeling like she had to fix everyone’s problems, especially when there was no one else who could- even if she knew that she herself probably wouldn’t be able to fix it either (at least not without bending over backward and bleeding herself dry).
“No… no we can easily fix this-” all eyes went to the youngest member who ran off to grab all their notebooks and bring them back over to where the crew still stood. She spread them out, riffling through the pages until she found ideas they could use.
“We can still use the stadium… it won’t be as grand of a scale as we wanted, but that can still work. And- and we can make it related to New Zealand instead of all of our different backgrounds, so it’s easier to put together and less choreography to make up… we can fix this!” y/n was frantically and hopefully (delusionally) explaining her ideas, trying as hard as she could to bring the team’s morale back up. They sat down in their circle and began connecting the ideas, just hoping for the best at this point
Even though the Jam Republic girls were frustrated, they only let it fuel their will to work even harder. It crushed y/n a little to have to scrap her idea, knowing it would’ve brought them an easy win, but she was determined to make their new routine strong. The team had ultimately decided to keep the athletic theme but changed it quite a bit to highlight rugby which was a big part of New Zealand culture. The girls planned on dancing in the bleachers and on the field to portray a Friday night lights feel, or a game- since it technically was still a competition between them and deep n dap.
A few days go by and it isn’t getting any easier for Jam Republic. As much as they try to stay positive, the insane lack of dancers makes it hard to achieve the impact they’re going for. Y/n kept saying how they needed to keep trying to find more dancers, but Kirsten just wanted to focus on perfecting the routine with what they had. The young girl also kept mentioning little ideas and elements to add in order to amplify the concept they were going for, but again the leader was more focused on solidifying the present piece. Y/n ended up getting so frustrated that she would just randomly start tearing up and crying during their breaks, not allowing herself to stop for more than 30 seconds, grabbing a quick sip of water, and then immediately going back to practicing. She thought that maybe if she gave it her all, she wouldn’t be as disappointed in herself when she wasn’t satisfied with the outcome.
Of course, all of the girls were on edge but they at least were able to put it aside at some moments, still being able to enjoy parts of the process. y/n tried her best not to let her teammates see how anxious and worked up she was, but the girl was so overwhelmed with fear of failure that it would be impossible for anyone not to see it. Which is why it made everything so much worse for her when she continued to go through the rest of the preparation without a single person asking what was wrong. Y/n understood- really, she did. Everyone needed to focus on the end goal, and that meant there wasn’t time to deal with her feelings.
Bada was beginning to worry, seeing as the last response she had gotten from y/n was days ago. The girl had landed her flight and texted the Bebe leader immediately, letting her know she was safe, but also explaining the problems that had already arisen. They talked briefly about how the pink team was likely going to have to restart everything if the weather didn’t ease up. Then a couple of days later, they talked on the phone about the complete concept change and reboot of their whole routine. Y/n tried to keep her stress to a minimum, not wanting to be a burden to the other girl who was also beginning to get stressed.
It had been many days since then, and she’d texted the younger girl three separate times as well as tried calling her twice. Bada finally got a response the day before Jam Republic would be flying back to Korea for the midterm mission check, where they as well as the other teams would be reviewing each other’s practice videos of the choreography. It had been a somewhat longer text message reading ‘hi. I’m really sorry for not responding at all for the last few days. I know you’re probably just as stressed as i am, so I’m sorry for not being able to be there. Things haven’t been going good over here and I’m honestly really scared to present what we have… but I’m sure everything will be fine haha. How have you been?’
Bada felt her heart clench at the girl’s words, understanding why she wasn’t responding but still feeling a bit upset nonetheless. It hurt her to see y/n try to brush off her stress and redirect her attention so it would focus on caring for others instead of caring for herself.
Jam Republic arrives back in South Korea and heads straight to the studio to film their reactions and judgments of the other teams. They immediately make their way to their pink hideout passing by other crews, but not having time to mingle or really do anything more than smile and wave. The girls were exhausted from the flight, jetlag, and overworking themselves. y/n didn’t even realize team Bebe wasn’t with the rest of the crews when they passed through the lobby.
Bebe sat in their room, feeling more anxious than usual, a bad vibe floating through the air. No one could quite put their finger on it, but something definitely wasn’t right and it was causing all of the members to feel its effects. It officially came time for all crews to review each dance practice video. Each team’s video played one by one and the members had time to fill out the review cards before moving on to the next.
Bebe’s video played next and the reactions were not positive, to say the least. Everyone seemed disappointed by the piece as a whole, expecting something much bigger- the music was too big of a risk, the props were poorly utilized, and it was overall just too simple. It wasn’t a bad video- it just didn’t meet anyone’s expectations since they were all waiting for some elaborate project, knowing Bada was very capable of doing so. Shortly after, a similar reaction was felt while everyone watched the Jam Republic video.
“They don’t have enough people…” Mina Myoung was the first to observe the team’s lack of crew members. They even paused the video to count how many were shown, seeing 28, which was under the minimum limit of 30 people.
“It honestly isn’t powerful enough… it’s just not impressive” Buckey commented, crossing her arms over her chest. Yoonji sighed and frowned.
“This is so sad… I was really rooting for them” The girl mumbled, genuinely feeling pity for the international team, hoping they’d be able to pull through.
When it came down to voting for the team that should be eliminated, Jam Republic ultimately chose Bebe. They were originally tied between voting for Bebe and Wolf'lo, with y/n fighting her best fight to vote for Wolf'lo because it just didn't look entertaining to her and they had no story or plot.
"y/n…" Kirsten started off in a warning but gentle tone
"We can’t just not pick Bebe because of you and Bada… this is a competition babe." and y/n was kinda hurt by that because she knows how to be objective and she didn't even think she was biasing Bebe- she just personally didn't like Wolf'lo and thought they should be eliminated over any other team.
Then it finally came down to the results. Each team would be given a scorecard showing the comments and feedback they’d received from the others. One card would reveal the team voted as most likely to place first, and another would reveal who was most likely to be eliminated. When Jam Republic opens their card, it felt like all of the air suddenly got sucked out of the room.
“God DAMN” Audrey laughed humorlessly in absolute shock, as they all stared at the words ‘MOST AT RISK FOR ELIMINATION’ in big bold letters at the top. y/n stopped breathing for a few seconds and she’s pretty sure everyone else did too, seeing as there was not a single sound to be heard in the dressing room. The young girl once again tried to convince herself to think rationally, but couldn’t get past the anxiety and crushing weight of failure that was starting to fill her lungs. She wasn’t even angry, even though she should’ve been because she understood. y/n understood that they didn’t meet the criteria, and their dance simply wasn’t as put together as it should've been, especially in comparison to other teams/
What really got her emotional was realizing that Bebe- that BADA- voted for them too… it felt like such betrayal and she wore that shit on her face like usual. But still- she didn't feel angry, just betrayed and heartbroken, and really fucking disappointed. The more mature and logical side of y/n was still trying not to jump to conclusions because maybe it wasn’t Bada that decided… Maybe it was the same situation her team had going on- maybe Bada didn’t want to vote for Jam Republic but the majority of others did. Y/n truly did understand everyone’s reasoning, but that didn’t make it hurt any less, especially having Bada vote to eliminate her as well
“It’s gonna be okay lovey… I promise” Kirsten wrapped her arm around the youngest’s shoulders and whispered reassuringly to her as she watched her begin to have a mental breakdown. Moments later, the rest of the crew’s ranking was revealed, showing 1 Million in first and Jam Republic in last, but also- Bebe in sixth, the second to last place. Seeing this, Bada sighed and began to have her own slight mental breakdown.
Some teams celebrated their rankings while others sat quietly, reviewing the feedback and pondering what to do. Jam Republic sat in silence as Kirsten read over the comments. Y/n sat by her side with her head in her hands sobbing silently, so overwhelmed that she didn’t know what to do. The entire team was at a loss, and soon Kirsten started crying too, wrapping and arm around the youngest members, who finally let her emotions be shown to her team. The loud cries were the only sound in the room.
Y/n was able to calm herself down after about 20 minutes of crying. The poor girl felt so awful about how things were going feeling responsible for a lot of it- thinking that maybe if she had pushed her ideas a little more, or gotten in contact with more people, or even just tried a little harder, maybe Jam Republic could’ve done so much better. Even though she’s calmed down, tears still flow down her face without her even realizing it. Y/n was never angry at anyone else for their opinions, but now she’s feeling awfully spiteful towards herself. The youngest member was filled with so much resentment and self-hatred, that it immediately sent her into an inescapable depression.
The show writers and staff were cruel. So cruel for making these girls show off their inspiration boards and creative briefs live in front of the other teams. Each team explains their given concept and how they came up with the details to highlight what they chose. While it was much more of a relaxed environment (in the sense that there would be no feedback or ranking based on this), a majority of contestants were nowhere near feeling at ease.
The members of Jam Republic were able to build themselves back up and put on their game faces while presenting, except for y/n. She really did try her best to not look like she was about to cry at the drop of a hat, but it was no use. The girl was simply not herself. The small girl’s usually bright and energetic personality was nowhere to be found, not once cracking even a hint of a smile- even when Jam Republic received immense praise for their ideas. She didn’t find any enjoyment in the other crew’s presentations, although to be fair she wasn’t really able to focus on them- she just sat there in a daze.
It made everyone nervous to see Jam Republic’s youngest member like this. Her members noticed that she had become even more irritable than before- but now in a scary way that genuinely had them concerned for themselves and everyone else. The girl was calm but you could just feel the rage and depression and resentment radiating off of her to the point it made chills run down your spine.
_________
After every crew had shared their ideas and idea boards, they were allowed to go back to head back to their hideouts to discuss any adjustments or further plans that had to be made before returning to their projects. Jam Republic had to get right back on a plane in a few hours to head back to New Zealand and somehow fix their entire routine, again.
Y/n just finished walking up the staircase leading from the fight zone to the crew lounges, when she heard someone call out her name from closely behind her. The girl turned around to come face to face with the tall leader she had been talking with for the last few months.
“Hey, are you okay? I called your name like three times…” Bada questioned worriedly, her eyebrows furrowed and head tilted as she waited for the younger girl’s response, with wide caring eyes.
“...I'm just really tired” y/n whispered in the meekest voice possible, already feeling her eyes start to sting again, but trying to cover it up with a smile. Bada sighs and pulls her into a big hug, and surprisingly y/n doesn’t burst into tears. The girl continues to try as hard as possible to keep the droplets from escaping her eyes as she squeezes them shut.
“Look… I’m really sorry” the older of the two began resting her head atop y/n’s, but the shorter one felt her body tense at the apology already not liking where the conversation was headed. y/n let go of Bada’s waist and backed away, waiting for the older girl to continue.
“It wasn’t personal… the dance was still very good, and it’ll look even better with all of the ideas planned out!” she finished, referring to how her team had voted Jam Republic as the worst crew. Y/n’s face lost any emotion she had regained, looking empty and exhausted again, making Bada’s skin prickle.
“no, I understand” was all y/n spoke, already trying to disconnect from reality to save herself from crying again or making a bigger fool out of herself than she already has. But Bada is only more upset by the reaction, seeing as y/n just doesn’t seem at all like herself. The girl genuinely looks empty inside and no one on the show has ever seen her like this, in fact- no one in Jam Republic has even seen her like this and they’re all beginning to become extremely worried about her. And even though it’s clear the small girl just needs time and space, Bada decides to keep talking
“The vote was objective I promise, I don’t want you to think anything personally of it” At the end of the older girl’s sentence, y/n just felt the tiniest bit of a scowl make its way onto her face, feeling pissed off at the thought of someone once again thinking she doesn’t understand the concept of a competition.
“Obviously- I’m not stupid, this is a competition.” the harsh tone that comes out of the younger really throws Bada for a loop because she has never seen y/n speak to or about anyone like this- and it makes her feel sick to her stomach that her first time witnessing it is directed at her.
“I- no, what? Of course you’re not stupid! I just wanted to make sure… to make sure you knew. That’s all.” Bada started off a bit panicked and emotional but quickly was able to calm down and speak rationally, understanding the younger girl was known to have a bit of a temper. There was a long silent pause.
"did you decide on Jam Republic?" y/n asked a bit accusatorily
"Huh?" the older tilted her head, still absolutely confused about how this situation was occurring right now.
"did YOU, as in yourself, Bada Lee, decide to vote Jam Republic as the team to be eliminated, or was it someone else's idea…" There was silence for a moment before Bada sighed then pursed her lips
"We all decided-"
"but who's idea was it? Did you even argue it? Were you even thinking of anyone else? Or did you just immediately decide and agree that my team should be the next to go?" Bada didn’t say anything as she started to get a little frustrated, but she watched as y/n just scoffed at the lack of response and turned to walk away, rolling her eyes. Bada followed her and pulled her aside, a few feet away from the outside of Bebe's dressing room
"well you voted for my team as the worst, so how is this any fair at all?" the tall leader finally let her emotions take control of her as she shot back with much less frustration than her counterpart, but still irritated nonetheless.
"because I didn't want to vote for you! I fought to vote Wolf'lo over you guys because I know you don't deserve to go home! I understand it from an objective perspective- I promise Bada, I do- but that doesn't make it hurt any less!" There were a few beats of silence before y/n continued
"and it's honestly really infuriating that you don't think I understand that this is a competition-" she finished off quieter than before but still filled with annoyance and betrayal.
"WOAH- now when did I EVER say that??" now it was Bada’s turn to blow up
"Oh my god- you don't have to say it! You clearly think I'm just here to have fun and make friends!" y/n once again raised her voice, this time rising in pitch as well.
"Why would you say that??" Bada fired back and was immediately met with the calmest tone of voice y/n had spoken in since the argument began, and it terrified her.
"Bada- you haven't seen me as a threat once this entire competition… have you? Not to you, not to your team…" Bada stuttered for a second, completely blindsided by the argument
"where is this all coming from y/n?" the tall girl asked, genuinely concerned. y/n sighed and her eyes softened, shook her head.
"never mind" She turned and went to walk away, but Bada grabbed her by the wrist again and dragged her inside the blue team room, closing the door behind her
"you need to speak to me. You need to communicate with me what's going on right now because whatever you're feeling is totally valid- we had a rough day out there- fuck, we’ve had a rough few days, especially you- but that doesn't mean you get to take it out on me… so please tell what's wrong, so I can try to help." the older girl calmly and gently explained her thoughts and feelings to the girl in front of her, and y/n almost cracked. almost.
“I think it’s best for me to focus on the competition… building relationships clearly isn’t working out to my benefit" Her previously soft and watery eyes, had quickly cleared up within a few seconds, leaving her looking cold and unapproachable again. The response was petty and childish, y/n herself knew that, but she said to hurt Bada.
why do you want to hurt Bada? She was apologizing, why are you making this harder? You’re being childish and proving everyone right- you’re not fit for this competition, you’re too young y/n and you don’t know how to handle things when you actually need to.
The younger girl’s internal dialogue was emotional and resentful towards herself, but for once, the expression on her face didn’t show how she was truly feeling. The anger and hatred taking over her features wasn’t directed towards the older girl in front of her, which is what anyone witnessing the interaction would assume. y/n could feel her stomach churning and her face getting hot with embarrassment. She didn’t understand why she was acting like this and didn’t know how to get herself to stop.
It felt like hours had passed before Bada spoke again and when she did it was led by an aggressive scoff.
“You can’t be serious right now…” she challenged so calmly that it sent a chill up y/n’s spine, the younger girl’s resolve finally breaking down and it became apparent that she wasn’t actually as tough as she was trying to be. Bada could see the cold glare falter for a split second, watching as her eyes became full of emotion before the younger was able to reel it in again.
“Why wouldn’t I be serious? This is a competition and the only people I should be trusting are my teammates, I shouldn’t be letting my emotions get in the way of things…” y/n responded just as calmly. If anyone else were to be present for the interaction they probably would've froze to death due to how cold the two were being.
“Next time I'll make sure to vote objectively and solely based on what I see in front, instead of trying to think about who deserves to be here more.” she finished with an empty, tight-lipped smile, tilting her head feigning understanding, and Bada let out a humorless chuckle
“God- have you always been this manipulative?” it was her turn to try and hurt the other girl. y/n’s cocky grin dropped immediately and she straightened up entirely.
“Excuse me?” the younger girl furrowed her brows and scowled again
“You heard me…” Bada replied cooly and nonchalantly as if this were any other normal conversation
“I came to you, apologizing for what I did and your response to that is to start an argument- and THEN when you realize you’re in the wrong, you try to turn it on me?” the older girl finished, voice rising slightly
“I never turned it on you- I said how I needed to focus on the competition and stop being so friendly with everyone, how are you so self-absorbed to think that was about you?” y/n could barely even get her last word out before the other was shouting over her.
“BECAUSE IT WAS- it so obviously was a dig at me y/n, because who else are you close with? Huh??” the volume of Bada’s voice caused the younger girl to flinch, no longer being able to preserve her emotions. The tall girl took a few steps forward and leaned down, getting in y/n’s face.
“Who else can actually stand being around you…” shot after shot fired, Bada was doing a much better job at hurting y/n than y/n was doing hurting Bada. She wasn’t even thinking about how she used to tell herself that she would never be the reason y/n would be crying, and now here she is, feeling satisfied when she sees a single tear run down the girl's face. She wasn’t paying attention to how it sucked all the air out of her lungs and made her stomach turn in disgust, only noticing the minuscule feeling of satisfaction.
“I think it’s so funny how you say that, knowing damn well you get jealous any time someone even looks at me… you know better than anybody that anyone in this fucking place would love to be in your position-” and this caused Bada to let out a loud laugh of disbelief, backing away slightly before getting right back in her face
“Yeah? Then how come nobody even paid attention to you until I took notice… you know that’s the only reason you’re popular, right? If it had been anyone else, no one would’ve cared… admit it to yourself, nobody wants to be in my place y/n- they all wanna be in yours, so maybe think about how lucky you are…” Bada didn’t believe in a single thing that was coming out of her mouth, she honestly couldn’t even believe her own voice hearing how condescending and spiteful the words sounded as they left her lips. She could feel a slight ringing in her ears, part of her brain processing it as a tiny voice screaming at her to stop and that she was making a mistake. But the damage was already done.
Y/n was barely holding back tears anymore, pursing her lips and clenching her jaw did nothing to stop the flow of salty droplets from streaming down her face. Her nostrils flared slightly as she swallowed down sobs and tightly closed her eyes.
“I’m not having this conversation anymore…” she managed to get the words out without sounding horribly choked up as she turns away to leave, hand about to turn the knob as the older girl lets out another dry chuckle.
“Oh so now you wanna act mature? Let me tell you this isn’t the mature way to handle the situation anymore- you don’t know how to talk to people or resolve conflict, in fact you’re NOT confrontational at all, and are really just a scared little girl who’s all bark and no bite. You’re such a child- that’s all you are- is a FUCKING child…” it’s dead silent after Bada’s done screaming at her. Y/n turns around slowly and just stands there for a moment with a blank stare, then lets out the most dry, humorless laugh. It honestly scares the shit out of the older girl, eyes going wide and face paling, coming to her senses and realizing how fucked the situation was.
Y/n was smiling and laughing, albeit a little psychotically, all while still crying- she had finally snapped, and Bada was terrified. The girl in front of her could easily be a danger to herself, and possibly others in the state she was in, but all the leader could think about was how there was probably no coming back from this. The younger of the two just closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before opening them and nodding at Bada with a tight-lipped smile, taking a deep breath.
“Okay” y/n smiles painfully as tears continue to run down her face- she turns around, swings the door open, and slams it shut as she walks out. The silence that followed was broken only seconds later as Bada heard the sobs that were almost immediately released by the girl who had just left.
y/n hadn’t even noticed the rest of Bada’s team standing around the corner, as she walked in the other direction to head back to her own room. Once she was far enough away, Lusher led the group quietly into their space seeing their leader sat on the couch with her head in her hands.
“Hey…” she speaks quietly, and Bada looks up with an empty look in her eyes, but tries to hide it when she realizes her team is present. Before she can even try to pretend nothing happened, the sub-leader was speaking up again
“We heard everything…” Bada sighed and felt tears pricking her eyes, disappointment and heartbreak finally taking over as she realized how fucked up the things she said were. The younger members sat around their leader and rubbed her arm or leg while they all watched with sad eyes as she sobbed. This was going to be a rough next few days.

(Not the previous anon) i feel like since first is sort of bubbly and fun people tend to forget that he’s like… kinda shy lol. we’ve seen khao (who’s famously an introvert) more often in non work related social gatherings. I think if he was paired with a woman he’d be just as giggly with fs bc that’s just the type of person he is 😂
Yeah, I was trying to be coy about it before but if y’all want my honest to god opinion, I think the reason FK don’t do much fanservice is because First literally blue screens and starts having a sexuality crisis in front of a live studio audience every single time they try. He becomes that “who hasn’t had gay thoughts?!” meme as the voices in his head insist (very loudly) that Khaotung is cute. And Khaotung knows this! He teases him about it mercilessly.
Although I personally tend to prefer couples that do a lot of ship work just because I find it fun, the good thing about FK is that you get the benefit of fanservice without them actually doing it because they’re just Like That ™️
I mean, this was them at the airport yesterday. Like—????

MITCH MARNER IS BEYOND ANTSY.
He wants to leave, and has since you arrived. You wouldn't be hard-pressed to assume enduring the company of his teammates was physically painful with how he's been behaving.
You have an inkling as to why, and you know your hands aren't exactly clean in that respect, but it's his lack of time management that should bear the brunt of his ire, not you.
You left more than enough time for him to get his dick wet.
Brooding like a hormonal teenager, he haunts the far corner of the room, glaring at you over the rim of a glass you know he hasn't touched all night. Morgan's in his ear, but anyone can tell he isn't listening just by looking at his pinched expression and hard, detached gaze; Mitch's been too busy glowering to allow even a little fun to bypass his sour mood.
Which is precisely why you're ignoring him. Instead, finding conversation in Matt, who's in town for the weekend.
The more Mitch pouts, the more you tease—he should know that by now.
You're halfway to the kitchen for a refill when your boyfriend finally corners you. One second you're walking down a deserted hallway, and the next you're trapped between the wall and Mitch's heaving chest.
His eyes have gone a deep shade of navy, and that's all you need to see to know you've fucked up.
If there's one thing Mitch hates, it's being denied attention. Namely, yours.
"I'd say it's time to call it a night, wouldn't you?" he growls lowly into your mouth.
You’re more marionette than person at this moment, bobbing your head along with his every whim, wholly transfixed and with no real thoughts of your own. It's dizzying how much power he can exert without doing much at all. He could get you to agree to anything.
Never in your life has submission felt this innate or this safe.
And it isn’t often Mitch gets like this. Usually, only after he’s been away for a while or you haven’t had much alone time; tonight both are at play.
Hunger rolls off of him in giddy waves. Breakers that don’t spill or curl; the energy piles up until it has nothing left to do besides compress together. Albeit, far too late to be elegant or uniform. The tempestuous emotion hurtles rapidly to your shore, slamming into you without care or warning. Hypnotic is a word he suits best in this state.
Someone fakes a cough a few paces away. Your heads snap in the direction you came, only to find three figures idling in the entryway.
Mitch grinds his teeth. "Can we help you?"
"No need to cut the evening short, Mitchell," Auston teases through a shit-eating grin, undeterred by his friend's burgeoning tantrum. Mitch doesn't answer, so Auston presses on, "What? My guest bedroom not good for a movie star such as yourself?"
"What, you three what some kind of live demonstration? Fancy yourselves an in-studio audience?" Mitch snorts too quickly and the realization hits just as fast. "You can't be serious."
Had he taken a moment to think about anything besides his raging hard-on, he might've noticed the way your thighs squeezed together at the thought of putting on a show. Or, heard the little whimper you couldn't catch before it got loose.
It's an idea you have been toying with lately, having been a mutual fantasy for some time now, and this is as good an opportunity as any.
Better than most, actually, if you take into account the added risk that comes with bringing your romantic relationship out of the shadows. With more eyes on you as you than ever, Mitch isn't the only one who needs to proceed with caution anymore.
These are people you know and trust, and who are already privy to your unconventional side hustle.
Willy shrugs. "It's not like it'd be the first time we were there while you two were going at it."
Physically, it would be but virtually? Denial would be an outright lie.
Your boyfriend is to blame for that bit of ammunition.
"Jesus, fuck, Mitch! Are you playing with your eyes closed or something? Because it sure as fuck looks like it."
"It's not my fucking fault, alright? Can't fuckin' concentrate with all her whining and shit," he spat back into the mic.
The intensity of his defense made him thrust his hips, accidentially jostling you in his lap, which just made you whimper louder.
He didn't spare you a second glance.
The lewd squeak was poorly muffled by his neck and, as much as Mitch loved to bitch about how distracting your sounds were, this was exactly why he wanted to be buried balls-deep while he played with the guys.
But that wasn't the half of why he insisted you stay put.
Mitch may be territorial as hell, but he'll never pass up an opportunity to have his ego stroked or to flaunt what luxuries he has at his disposal.
These virtual escapades are like open season for that shit.
Every compliment was more his than yours. Praise for your obedience was truly kudos for his firm hand. Each envy-laced remark, whether it be laden with degradation or brimming with flattery, went straight to his head and to his cock. And, best of all, they had him to thank for the small taste of a heaven they could only dream of.
Win or lose, every game resulted in a night that rendered you speechless and incredibly sore—he loves attention that much.
"Fine," he relents, more aroused now after his trip down memory lane. "You can look, but you can't touch. And don't even think about sweet talking her or bullying me into it. Got it?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What’dya say, baby? Should we give the people what they came up here to see?”
Sheepishly, you nod. A pitiful whine matches the pout you wear, impatient as ever.
His reply tickles your ear. The low chuckle is surprisingly airy for a sound burdened by the weight of his smugness.
Ever since he got his hands on your heart, your boyfriend's been inclined to... pomposity. Mitch needs the world to know it's his palm you reside in. He wants the credit he's owed for the spectacular state of disarray you become whenever he's present.
Occasionally, the ego of it all drives you up the wall. But, it's difficult to knock someone down a peg when they've earned every right to be on their high horse.
Not that you're complaining; he's hot when he's cocky.
At the foot of the bed, Mitch frames your body with his thighs. Yours are parted narrowly, only enough for a hand and some wiggle room, but your crowd of three isn't starved for visual stimulation in the slightest.
What you'd put on not two hours prior now sits on the dresser opposite you neatly folded.
Mitch rubs a few fingers over the budding mess between your thighs and, even though the touch remains central to the source, the last garment standing diffuses a delicious tingling sensation. It's minimal, and to an infuriating degree—enough to kindle the fire in your belly without ever risking a premature finale.
Your knees knock together in frustration, but they won't stay that way for long.
Mitch wrenches his hand out from between your thighs, completely ignoring the way you whimper at the loss. He pulls your legs apart with both hands and hooks each one over his knees, leaving your feet dangling outside his.
“You keep them spread, yeah?"
Again, you nod.
Now is not the time to push his buttons.
Mo runs a hand over his flushed face. “Fuckin’ hell,” he laments.
The damp patch, now verging on translucent, stands in stark contrast to the bright, creamy cotton. A pretty, little satin bow sits demurely above the drop of sweetness no one but Mitch will ever taste again.
Mitch is just as eager as you are. You can feel it on your skin; in the erratic rhythm of his heartbeat; in the effort behind his breathing. But, most obviously, in the bulge burrowing into the small of your back. Which is why, when his deft hand slips beneath the thin waistband to curl into your heat, it comes as no surprise.
He doesn't linger, much to everyone's disappointment.
Mitch is quick to dispel the new gloom blanketing the room, though, holding the evidence of your enthusiasm up to the light as if raising the Cup.
A thick combination of horror and delight burns shallowly under your skin as he slowly separates them, revealing the full extent of your arousal as it hangs proudly between the chuffed digits.
“Showin’ off for my friends?” he chides, though it's clear he couldn’t be happier about the sticky display.
You mewl in response to the light mockery.
And now it's just as evident how badly the three men standing against the wall want to alleviate the growing pressure below their belts.
However, they won't because they can't.
Mitch wants to be able to see their hands—both of them, at all times.
"They're being so good for you, aren't they? So quiet and polite; got 'em their best behavior for you, baby."
The stage whisper makes Auston scoff and Willy groan. Mo seems to have gone mute.
Ignoring them, your chin dips. Mitch huffs his amusement.
"But have they behaved well enough to earn a treat?" —and before you give him yet another nod, he specifies how he'd like you to respond: "Words, baby. Let them hear that pretty voice."
You comply in a series of choppy whimpers, "Y-Yessir... s'good... They've been s-so good—more than enough."
You plead on their behalf as much as your own.
Mitch moans into your ear, unhinged and primal, and immediately rucks down the ruined material—one half of a matching set—until they hang off one ankle.
It's taking every ounce of self-control to not flip you over and take you face down ass up; Mitch is enjoying this demonstration of power that much.
The blood pumping in your ears drowns out whatever reaction Mitch's teammates had to seeing you bare and on display, but simply knowing they're there, watching with undivided attention, sets your skin ablaze.
"I always have to stretch her out before we can do anything fun. Doesn't matter how long or how often I've been fucking her—or which hole. Without fail, my girl tightens right back up like she's brand fuckin' new."
At a gingerly pace, your boyfriend tugs back the soft, subtle hood covering that tender, oh-so-sensitive spot. He lifts the curtain, unveiling the bundle of nerves like the work of art that it is, watching as it pulses for attention. His free hand frames your weeping folds before spreading them open. Though, this early on there's not much to see. And it would be hard to if there were, considering what a mess you've made already. The finishing touch comes from Mitch's hips, which nudge yours in a silent demand for an upward tilt that yields an unobstructed view of both needy, flexing holes for the audience.
"—and I never get sick of breaking her in all over again."
At their wide eyes and slack jaws, Mitch preens. He's delighting in this torture, never having had something they didn't that was worth coveting. Still, regardless of how high Mitch gets off the attention, his generosity has its limits.
The hand petting your clit abandons its post in favor of venturing further south. Mitch absorbs the full-body jolt his mild prodding elicits while continuing to circle the pretty pucker, though never breaching the taut band.
"This little one—it doesn't come for free, and it doesn't go for cheap, either. I can tell you that much right now, boys."
For a bit, mitch plays with you to his heart's content. Still withholding what you want most, but somehow managing to keep you more than satisfied.
But, eventually, your boyfriend begins taking requests from the live audience the way he's done in the past cam shows he has participated in.
"Show us how many that needy cunt can take at once." (Morgan)
—Tonight, three. But the real answer is all of them—thumb included.
"You're doing all the work. Make her fuck herself on them." (William)
—You do a decent job...until your legs give out under the demands of exertion with little to no leverage. Mitch resumes control seconds before your lower extremities begin tingling, a precursor to the eventual numbness that will undoubtedly render you useless.
"Oh, c'mon. I know she can take it harder and faster. Don't hold back, Mitchy." (Auston)
— You can; you do.
...and when you can no longer resist succumbing to the unbearable tightness just below your navel, ruthlessly coupled with his thumb swiping over your swollen clit, you convulse violently in Mitch's steely grip. Your limbs thrash with all their might just to make the most of what little autonomy they've been allotted. A heavy downpour of tears stream down your cheeks, collecting beads of perspiration as they go.
“Goddamn, your tears are even prettier in person," Auston remarks, awestruck.
Willy softly mumbles something to the effect of deeming you an angel and Mitch snorts, knowing that couldn't be further from the truth; you were putting on a show in more ways than one.
“A fuckin’ star—that’s what she is," he's quick to correct.
You're still entrenched in the aftershocks of your first Mitch-induced climax in over a week when he abruptly removes his fingers in favor of spreading you open for your adoring fans.
On the surface, pulling your outer lips apart with his thumbs a second time seems purely for the benefit of a spectator. However, in further exposing such sensitive, delicate skin to the elemets, Mitch is doing you a brilliant favor. The wetness clinging to you like a second skin chills considerably.
At a certain point, you can't discern which shivers belong to these escalations and which stem from the peak you're still reeling from.
Your boyfriend peers over your shoulder, slightly envious of his friends' vantage point, to watch your puffy opening constrict around nothing.
He smirks with his lips pressed to your neck. "Even after all that, this greedy hole still isn't satisfied. You guys done nothing to earn more, but she's too damn inviting to resist."
You're three orgasms deep and verging on incoherent when Mitch finally lowers your limp form over his hard cock, and he finds immense satisfaction in how easily you come apart for him once again. Before he even bottomed out.
A few sharp thrusts with his hand around your throat, his arm firm in the valley between your breasts, and your body milks him like it's after his very soul.
But unfortunately for your poor, overstimulated pussy, he is far from finished with you...
Tumblr media
"Y'did so good for me, always so fuckin' good, aren't you? Now stay still for me, baby, just for a second."
You nod and do as you're told, mostly because you can't do much to the contrary even if you wanted to. An overwhelming mix of too sensitive and almost numb has incapacitated you. You're too strung out for that, too far gone even for words. Everything is fuzzy; your mind, senses, and vision.
Physically, you aren't faring much better. Without Mitch propping you up, you fall back onto the sheets with a faint sigh. You're vaguely aware of what's happening and why, but aren't in a state to be much help.
Lucky for you both, Mitch loves to play creative director.
Your boyfriend gently configures your body the way he needs it in order to get the best stills and a few clips to GIF. Mitch bends your knees, placing each foot flat a few inches from your ass, mindful of keeping your knees wide. Enough so that your folds are forced apart naturally just the way he likes, but without causing you any unnecessary discomfort.
Soon, you're splayed open again—Mitch and his camera join the sea of spectators—your swollen cunt on full display as the evidence of your tryst dribbles out onto the duvet.
"Uh, what... What're you doing?" Willy asks, perplexed.
At least, you think it's the winger. You can't be certain, ot with your head still somewhere amongst the stars.
"What does it look like?" he huffs in response, clearly annoyed by the interruption to his artistic process.
There's more murmuring across the room. From what you can gather, you surmise they're taken aback by how casually this aspect of the job is unfolding, how easily Mitch slips between roles; from run-of-the-mill boyfriend to seasoned dominant, to professional content creator, and back again.
It's something you yourself have thought about on more than one occasion, but never at length.
"Alright, that should do it," Mitch says mostly to himself before leaning down to address you, one hand cradling your jaw while the other brushes away a stale tear. "Now's the hard part."
You can almost feel the triple dose of concern radiating from the far corner. You'd chuckle to yourself if it wouldn't make you look crazier than you already do.
Your boyfriend isn't wrong; this next part is the hard part.
It's funny how your perception of something can change dramatically depending on the context in which it happens. For example, right now, Mitch is sliding ruined fabric up from your ankle for the express purpose of soaking up everything that's fast escaping; you're too spent to keep it squeezed in.
When he does this just because he can, the overt display of dominance makes you borderline feral. But when the intent is to create a product for profit, it's far from enjoyable.
Hence the whine of discontent presently bouncing off of the walls of Auston Matthews' guest bedroom.
Mitch is quick to soothe you, "I know, I know, but we gotta get 'em ready to ship out tomorrow, baby."
He knows you'll stop complaining once it starts to dry. Once the chill is no longer so harsh or foreign on your sensitive skin. After it tightens, Mitch knows what you'll beg for. His greedy girl always wants more. Especially when she's freshly marked and unable to think of anything but him.
"What? No party favor?" Auston asks, the words bleeding sarcasm.
From between your still-quivering thighs, you catch Mitch rolling his eyes. "I'm sorry, did you tip my pretty girl nearly five grand last week?"
Auston balks, head wagging.
Mitch gloats.
"That's what I thought. No cash, no panties."

"Friendship" Test; Request (Joseph Quinn x costar!Reader)
REQUEST: I’ve just read Salmon Smoothie and loved it!! Here is a similar idea, if you’d like to give it a try: So the reader and Joseph are dating but they are keeping it a secret. Only friends, families and St cast, producers etc. know about it. We know that Joseph is very private about his life but reader is very open about it, always active on social media and she loves sharing pictures of her friends. Also reader’s character and Eddie have a decent amount of scenes together so they also do press together a lot like Wired Autocomplete, that Glamour Friendship Test vid etc. Fans speculate a lot since reader and Joe are almost always together and one day paparazzi takes pictures of Joseph and reader together when they are really close. What is going to happen? What will they do? How will they react? How will cast react? I am leaving this up to you. Also you can change anything you want from my propmt, it’s totally okay. And if you’re not interested in writing a similar concept, that’s also okay. This just an idea. Love youuuu
a/n: hello lovely anon! i've mixed this request with a couple others and it'll be getting another part with the paparazzi photos in it that should be up by the end of the weekend! thank you sm for the request! love you! xx
SYNOPSIS: Joe and Reader do Glamour's Friendship Test, only they are certainly much more than friends
WARNINGS: pure fluff, like one curse word but cmon now...
Tumblr media
When you and Joe started dating, you quickly realised how imperative it was that you kept your relationship private. Between both of your ‘public images’, and the horribly objectifying idea that you wouldn’t get as much work if you weren’t seen as desirable by an audience, especially as you both were up-and-coming still. Though that didn’t mean you couldn’t have a bit of fun.
Everything you teased you made sure was above board, every photo you posted and every hint you gave in interviews was just enough to let the eagle-eyed fans know you were seeing someone, but they could never guess who–and you both liked it that way.
Whether it was a photo of your dinner from your first anniversary with Joe, or even a silhouette of his sunglasses–that you thought of as his signature–after a day at the beach with your family and him, it made the two of you laugh seeing how worked up some of the fans would get.
“Here’s one!” you said, sitting on the sofa reading through your latest Twitter replies, while Joe was stood at the stovetop making dinner for the two of you. “‘Bestie, you and I both know you can’t keep soft-launching, there HAS to be more than a crumb eventually.’”
Joe chuckled–a teasing laugh that you didn’t hear very often, it sounded like he was up to something. “Do you ever think about it, dove? What would happen if we told the fans?”
“I have,” you said, candidly. “But I love the fun of sneaking around too much. It’s not like we’re lying to everyone, we still interact publicly, the fans just don’t know the whole story…”
Joe was quiet for a minute, stirring the numerous saucepans on the stove for the ‘feast’ he was making. “Yeah, you’re right….” he eventually let out. “The secret-keeping is-uh-well it’s pretty fun.”
It was almost too easy for the pair of you to get by as ‘just friends’ out in public–everyone knew you worked together and had gotten very close during the filming of Stranger Things, so the odd paparazzi photo of the two of you out grocery shopping or whatever you may be doing wasn’t out of the ordinary.
And it made your day when you were able to do press together, since the PR team for Netflix knew about your fantastic chemistry, it seemed obvious for the two of you to pair up when it came time for promotional interviews.
You and Joe were standing about two feet apart in front of a white backdrop, the studio lights beating down on you–making you begin to sweat just a little.
“Hi! It’s Y/N,” you said with a smile to the camera.
“-And Joe, and we’re doing the Glamour friendship test, but with a twist!” he cut in, reading the cue card that was being held up just behind the camera.
“It’s a competition with Noah and Mille, and Sadie and Maya, to see who knows who best!” you continued, enthusiastically. “I think we’re going to destroy them, what do you think?”
“Yeah, we definitely know each other the best…For sure,” Joe answered, looking into your eyes, before being interrupted by one of the producers behind the camera.
“Both the other pairs said you guys would do the best,” she let you know. It made sense–the whole cast of the show knew you two were together, so it just made good sense that you would happen to know the most about each other. “Okay, the first thing is, what are your hidden talents?”
You excitedly turned to Joe. “I know yours!” He gave you a questioning look. “All your different accents!”
“Oh, yeah,” he nodded. “I can do lots of bad accents.”
“C’mon do one…” you egged him on, you really couldn’t help it. “Do your New Yorker accent.”
“Only if it pleases you…” Joe took a deep breath. “Eh, I’m walkin’ here!”
You let out a cackle from deep within your chest–you honestly weren’t sure where it came from, but for some reason, Joe always seemed to get the most genuine laughs and smiles out of you, whenever possible.
“And your hidden talent….” Joe thought for a second, tongue out–a common occurrence for him. “I’ve got it, you always wrap presents the absolute best.”
“Oh come on! That can’t be my hidden talent!” you argued, though you knew it was true. Even as a kid, you would be the one designated to wrap the family gifts–you just had a knack for folding the paper just right and always using the tape perfectly–and in adulthood, it had become somewhat of a hobby for you; you even had a gift-wrapping drawer full of ribbons, tapes, and other bits and bobs to spruce up any old box.
“No it is…” Joe said, sincerely while putting an arm around you shoulders and looking you dead in the eye. “You’re very talented.”
You couldn’t stop yourself from looking back into the deep pools of brown–you could just about see your reflection in them. Though after a few seconds, you remembered where you were and quickly straightened, pushing Joe’s arm off your shoulder and awkwardly clearing your throat. “Next one, then?”
“Okay…The next exercise is trust falls!” the producer said after a beat of awkward silence.
You couldn’t help but grimace as you pictured Joe missing catching you, ending with you falling flat on your face.
“Do you want to fall first and I’ll catch you or do you want to catch first?” Joe asked before seeing the look on your face. “Are you alright, dove?”
“Do you not trust Joseph?” the producer chimed in with a smile, though your fear was very genuine. There was no getting out of it–you just had to grow a set of balls and do the fall.
“I’m fine just-” you moved into position, standing with your back to Joe, who was a couple feet away. “Don’t drop me.”
Joe laughed as you squeezed your eyes as tightly shut as you could get them, took a deep breath, and fell backwards, into Joe’s grasp. It was almost too easy–he didn’t even struggle as he pushed you back into a standing position before you both turned around so you could catch him with ease.
“Great guys! Now we’re going to give you guys your phones, you have a minute to find some emojis to describe each other,” the producer said as an assistant handed you and Joe your phones.
You scrolled through the emoji menu picking, occasionally looking at Joe who was deep in thought with a furrowed brow, looking at his phone.
“Okay I’m ready,” you said, locking your phone and smiling at the camera.
“Yep, me too,” Joe answered with a smile. “For you, I did the big sparkly-eyed one–because you’re adorable, then the alien because you’re weird, and the high hell because you always wear such cool shoes, and then the dove because we call each other ‘dove’ a lot, and then the star because you’re a star…”
You had no hope in hiding the huge grin on your face and your boyfriend shyly poured all the compliments out–and you couldn’t help but notice as a blush crept up his neck as he spoke.
“Okay for mine, I put a chef, because you’re a good cook, then sunglasses because I always steal your glasses when we’re out, and then the dove, because our nicknames for each other, then some sparkles–I don’t know why but it made me think of you–and then a white heart because that’s the one I always send to you,” you rambled–perhaps a little too fast but you blamed the anxiety in your chest over being so vulnerable in front of a camera.
“I love it, darling,” Joe said under his breath as the assistant grabbed your phones back and the next shot was being prepared.
“Okay, and now we just have some rapid fire questions, are you guys ready?” the producer asked, waiting for the both of you to nod. “What is your friend’s favourite snack on set?”
You had to really fight the urge to say ‘me’ at first thinking back to all the hasty breaks you two would take on set, all but running to whomever's trailer was closer–you felt butterflies as you reminisced.
“Your’s is…” Joe drawed it out. “Those biscuits with the cheese that you dip in it, like Dunkaroos, right?”
“Sorta like Dunkaroos, and you like to have dried apricots.”
“Yes, I do…”
“Great!” the producer chimed in. “What is your friend’s pet peeve?”
“You hate when people don’t say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, very British of you…”
“Yeah that’s a big one for me…” Joe was still thinking. “Your pet peeve is when people confidently sing the wrong lyrics to a song.”
You didn’t answer him–just held out your hand for a high five, which he did, but kept hold of your hand long after the slap was heard.
“Okay and what is your friend’s Zodiac sign?” the producer read off the list.
“I’m so bad with these….” Joe complained, wincing.
“Yeah, he has no idea, he can’t even guess,” you laughed. “He’s a Taurus.”
“Is your friend a morning or night person?”
“We’re both more morning people, I’d say…” you started.
“Yeah we both like to get stuff done in the morning, nighttime is cold…and dark…”
“Thanks so much guys, we just have some final thoughts and then an outro and you’re free to go!” the producer said with a smile.
“Okay…” You wracked your brain trying to come up with what to say, but all you could really focus on was the fact that Joe’s hand was still in yours. Even after all this time, it was the little things like him holding your hand and giving you his jacket on cold nights that gave you the bubbling feeling in your chest that you knew as love and pure adoration.
“I think apart from the zodiac sign question,” Joe started. “Which was complete bullshit by the way-oh wait sorry, I’m not supposed to swear-anyway, I think we probably did the best…”
“Because we’re the best!” you joked, before Joe pulled you into a rough hug that elicited a giggle from you. “Thanks, Glamour!”

Transcript: Adam Smith interview on Minthara
"…we're writing this for a very small audience and when they get to it, they're going to get something special..."
Note: This is an excerpt that mentions Minthara from a PC Gamer interview with Adam Smith, the lead writer at Larian Studios.
Adam: I got um one note from uh... You've probably seen Amelia's video outtakes as the narrator... I got one note from Emma who plays Minthara and she was just like "Thanks for all the drow words, they're really good fun to say!" and I was like, that's sarcastic isn't it! They're really hard to say, she nailed them, but my God!
Interviewer: I love that, but I was wondering if you had a specific favourite or if there's a favourite quest line or just like a specific like; or just a quotable line of dialogue that you really love?
Adam: Ah so... Oh the stuff I want to say... Okay fine, I can say stuff that's from... it's fine, block your ears if you don't want to hear. They're not story spoilers...
So, I actually write less dialogue than you might think. My job is mostly to edit everyone else's work, so I know other people's lines better than my own, because those ones I kind of write them and then say somebody else can deal with that now... Whereas everyone else's lines I'm like you know, "okay, how do we make this as brilliant as it can be" but...
I spent a lot of time on Minthara. And we knew from the beginning Minthara is a character that most people will kill. She's a villain you meet her; you can recruit her, but most people kill her. We know that from the stats and we knew that putting the effort into writing lots and lots of dialogue for this character was going to be appreciated by very few people, but we're like hell it's good... I nearly swore don't if I'm allowed to swear...
And I put in one line which I don't know how many people will ever see it, so I'm going to just say it now.
So Minthara's story, she's been infected with tadpole, she's working for the cult and when you recruit her essentially, she comes under your protection and she can no longer hear the voice of God, of the Absolute; and you deprogram her. And she doesn't become a nice person, she's just like "Okay, let's do evil for ourselves now. Let's not do it for anyone else, let's take control."
And there's a moment when she gets very close to you, if she does, she has a crisis of confidence and she said, "I don't know if I can do this" and you can say "Look you're stronger than anyone I've ever met" and she says "If I'd never met you then I would have been... I would have still been a maniac doing things at the will of a God that doesn't exist" and you say "But you did meet me" and she says "Yeah and 9 times out of 10 I would just one more corpse in your crusade" and it's a little sad moment, but, it's also a little tap on the forth wall that says "Yes, in all your other playthroughs you piece of crap".
[laughs]
She's a horrible person it should be said, but the ones that I love are the moments where we're like, "we're writing this for a very small audience and when they get to it, they're going to get something special" and that, that stuff I love. I love our villains as well.
Interviewer: As a Dark Urge monk are you going to recruit Minthara on that playthrough?
Adam: yeah, I have her already. I usually take her along just because I spent so much time with (writing) her.
Interviewer: Yeah definitely.

NYCC Rant
I am soo pissed on behalf of our beautiful cast!
I mean, they KNEW they couldn't talk about their amazing show (and mind you, I TOTALLY support the strike, no questions asked!) but whoever thought playing a stupid game for the WHOLE FUCKING HOUR needs to be given a VERY stern talking to!!!
You have six amazing actors on that stage, all with a shitload of life under their belts (sorry, Con *cackles*) - you could've let them talk about ANYTHING, could've asked about basically EVERYTHING, and they could've still adhered to the strike rules and made it a fun panel!!! (Somehow this now feels like the con itself didn't trust that they would actually do this which makes me even more mad!!! They've been on the lines, they KNOW what can and can't go, no matter how badly they WANT to talk about OFMD! GEEZ!)
But you go and have them play a stupid game, where two of them barely understood a thing (and you didn't do jack shit about it), the questions were silly and boring (which Rhys actually pointed about because that man was (rightfully) ANNOYED AS FUCK!) and for those of us at home some answers weren't even readable because the camera person didn't know where to go first.
They all TRIED so hard to play along but it was just sooo embarrassing to watch, and I feel so soo sorry for everyone, the amazing cast on stage and the people in the audience. (Even worse for poor Matt to have his first convention be like THIS!) (Yes, i am VERY mad at the wealthy studio assholes who are not able to see that paying their artists a living wage would benefit EVERYONE *grrrrrr*)
There could've been sooo many other ways to run this panel and sadly they really fucked it up. (Right now watching DT who's just rambling along about pizza and bagels, audio books, his dogs and all the NOT SAG things he'd done, (while adhering to the rules!) which is adorable but also a very good example as to how to do SO MUCH BETTER!!! (but then again, that moderator was PREPARED!)
So yeah, that was a terrible disaster and an utter train wreck, and I can only hope every other con after this (while the strike's still ongoing) does better - for the sake of the cast AND the audience!!! NOBODY deserves this!!! /rant end
Please understand I am NOT mad at ANYONE striking - they are NOT at fault! It's the fucking greedy studio bosses who think they can get away with their sleazy shit!!! But I am sad that the convention people weren't able to come up with something less humiliating for a cast that deserve the fucking WORLD!!!

From @softleesam's post!
Tumblr media
As expected, MOST OF YOU ARE LEEESSSSS HEEHEEHEE
Tumblr media
Neck won first as the spot most people enjoy for giggles, then sides, then tummy!
Tumblr media
This is fascinating! Lotta people love tummies heehee
Tumblr media
Congratulations to @sleepysheepytea, @fluffomatic, and @bigdumbtickler03 for collectively getting first place!! According to (my audience at least), you are the most flustering content creators! In second place, there's @mushiewrites and @made-by-jade-222, who are both so awesome!! And finally, congrats to our runner-ups: @ticklepinions, @lovelymessybubbly, @altheadajoysoul, @sweettallahassee, @coy-lee, @otomiya-tickles, @wormonastriing, @fluffystuffies, @twordish-ler, @parker-fluff, @obsessedwithseb, @touched-starved-switch, (myself! yay!), @massive-uwu-energy, and @shyticklemonster!!!! Each of you were mentioned by name at least once as being the most flustering!!! Congratulations, mwah mwah heehee
Tumblr media
Yeah, this is about what I expected heh- If there's anything everyone agreed on, it was that YOU MUST RESPECT PEOPLE'S BOUNDARIES. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. Some people like tickling as a fun sfw activity that makes them happy, and for others, it's a kink. THAT IS OKAY!!!!!!!! Please just be kind, be understanding, and be respectful of people's boundaries.
Tumblr media
Again, as expected, since most of you are lees xD I would like to take this opportunity to shout out the people who don't get enough attention!! Teasy Lees (*biiiiiig stretch, showing midriff to ler and smirking* "whatcha lookin at~?"), Shy Lers ("u-u-uhm,, c-can i tword you pleaseee? its okay if not but you look really twordish and i wanna tword you!!"), Stoic Lers ("Why are you laughing?" *as they poke*), and Gentle Lees ("You're doing great!! I love the way you're tickling me!" *through laughter and giggles*) But if there's one thing we love here, it's playfulness, and I wholeheartedly agree!!
Tumblr media
Once again, you're all mostly lees, so the gravitation towards the 'very easily' side of the chart makes sense heehee (gosh i love trendlines look at that awesome trendline)
Tumblr media
Wow! Almost a 3/4 split! That's pretty neat heehee
Tumblr media
Interesting!!! Most people wanted to watch an animated movie (Disney, DreamWorks, Studio Ghibli, etc.), but a lot of people wanted to watch horror movies so that the tickles could help them relax!!
Tumblr media
okay i know this is ugly but this question produced so many hecking characters i just wanted to include a lot of themmm (im sorry if i didnt get yours on theree) also Featuring: The Marvel Corner in the bottom right cuz you guys love marvel characters heehee
Tumblr media
checks out!!! i wish i saw more back tickles in art and fics cuz they need more attentionnnnnnn
Tumblr media
its getting very late and i had a lot of trouble trying to adapt this question into a chart but i did my besttttt (gosh im so tired im almost to the enddd)
Tumblr media
(for context, the question is if you could choose one spot to tickle/be tickled in, which would it be) ooooo it's a tie between Sides and Tummy! and neck not far behind! interesting!!!
Tumblr media
This was very flusteringg heehee you guys sure are creative with all the variationssss >/////////////<
the "how does tickling make you feel" question has a lot of really personal responses, and i dont feel comfy sharing them, even if they are anonymous
and the last question is sorta vague so everyone answered it however they chose, so I couldn't really make a chart out of it
WHICH MEANS IM DONE YAYYYY TIME FOR BEDDY BYE
so uhm I don't usually beg for people to reblog stuff but I put so much time and effort into this so if you'd be so kind as to, y'know ahem ahem, I'd really appreciate that, thank youuuu~!!!!!!!!

Overwatch 2 scrapping their PvE, having known that they'll do it since late 2021 and lying about it during release in October 2022 is it's very own shitshow, but I gotta hand it to the interviewer Tamoor Hussain, I love the viciousness of his questions:
"So, your justification for calling it OW2 instead of just an update of OW1 was the PvE, so what's your justification now?"
Aaron Keller, sweating profusely: "GREAT QUESTION!!"
"Also, you basically scrapped the distinguishing factor of the game and now remain to compete with five dozen shooter games. What's the distinguishing factor now?"
Aaron Keller, swallowing: "GREAT QUESTION!"
"There was this great idea of developing Heroes that look incredibly fun, is that still coming?"
Aaron Keller, trying to keep his cool: "... we would love that but yeah no."
"So with PvE you wanted to broaden your audience for ppl who aren't into the combatitive PvP thing, what about that?"
Aaron Keller panicking in the background, Neuss taking over: "Weeeeeell yeah that's... just... they won't have fun so... well..."
And my fav: "This is a very rare look at a process where you tried something and then you realized you failed. How do you think that reflects on you as a team, as a company, and as a studio?"

After @seokoilua posted about the My Life, My Music interview (a while ago, this post is partially from my drafts!) I went to relisten to it. And in general it is a very fun interview with a lot of insightful moments about their creation process (Ne Bi Smel in particular) and the mixing process for example. Their voices in general are very soft (in tone, not volume) especially when talking to each other and the vibe is 🥰 I wanted to highlights some of my favourite moments because I want more people to know about them:
2:35 - They talk a bit about doing many concerts in a row and Kris says: "At one point in the summer we had four consecutive days of concerts and the fourth day was already the wors-" (gets cut of by Bojan). Knowing they have now done 7 concerts in 6 days during the nordic tour this is a little funny and a little sad to hear :(
3:59 - Not necessarily a moment but the first song (chosen by Bojan) is Ni Panike by Masayah and I think more people should go listen to Masayah so I'm including it >:)
14:30 - Ne Bi Smel was first called "burning room" and, quoting Bojan, "it couldn't have been more of an Ed Sheeran song." It sounds like the rest was not initially impressed: "and when I brought it to the rehearsal room the boys were like, yeah, hm, yeah no. and I think Jure just started banging on the drums and the guys took on the guitars and started playing some riff."
15:35 - The host asks a question about something they said somewhere else and Bojan and Kris argue a bit about who said that in the first place. It's very cute and my favourite moment is Bojan whispering at the end "I don't think so" because of course he needs to get last word in
21:34 - Hater!Kris returns because apparently he sends "not to appealing" songs to the groupchat?
Kris (about Jet Black Diamonds): The first time that we heard them it was their first single Retro Anorak, and I remember sending over the video to the guys in the group chat and I was like "oh, this is interesting," because usually I send some really… not too- Host: Obscure Kris: No no. Not too appealing Slovenian songs, because- Bojan: Yeah, Kris does that Kris: to be honest there's loads of them and I keep kinda getting them recommended somehow on Facebook or I dunno, it's like a positive feedback loop
Honestly the most surprising thing to me about this is that in the year of our lord 2022 Kris still used Facebook actively enough to stumble across things like that
23:56 - Kris talks about forming Buržoazija and how his guitar instructor recommended Jan: "Jan at that point was really like- I didn't really understand what he was about, he was like an introverted guy, really, also listening to a lot of metal and I was like "okaaay? I guess we'll try?" and then we started to practice and really got along."
25:45 - Luka (Apokalipsa's guitar player) and Martin already knew how to play and Bojan didn't and that's how they decided that he should sing. Also their first performance (also up on youtube, baby Bojči is very cute) was two (2!!) weeks after they started practising together
28:49 - About creating outside of Slovenia
Host: Is there something specific that you haven't yet done that you are desperately keen to do, or is this gonna gently evolve? Bojan: I dunno about the desperately want to do, I guess one thing we "truly desperately want to do" is go out of Slovenia to create. To try a new space. So go to a studio somewhere outside of our borders and see if the mindflow is different there. That is the only thing I can think of right now. Maybe Kris has- Kris: In addition to that, I really wanna see us tour anywhere, anywhere outside of Slovenia" Host: You are beginning to get to the audience already a little bit, […], you can find opportunities Kris: Yes, yes, we are, don't worry about it. We just don't want to talk to much about it yet Bojan: Let's say we're gonna have another interview next year and we're gonna have so much to talk about
This was before Hamburg where they created Carpe Diem and before London and honestly I'm glad they're getting to experience that Erasmus+/semester abroad experience because it's something they really wanted to do and they seem to be enjoying it a lot

Oof I'm kinda scared to ask... Why do you not want to be an artist professionally?
Its just like, incredibly miserable in my experience.
Everyone wants their dream job of being paid to draw whatever the hell they want but 99% of the time you are hired and tasked to draw things that you don't have a lot of interest in, professionally speaking, and constantly getting your artistic efforts undermined by the rest of the team (this is esp. true in the videogame industry) artists always try to push for better designs and get their takes watered down for the sake of general public pleasing. Also you don't have a security blanket unless you're under long term contract. Most freelancers live gig to gig with the fear of not being able to support themselves if they don't take a job to take a break. Videogame and movie jobs arent stable because companies never keep the art teams, they are laid off and rehired whenever there is a new project
During my major, I drew nonstop for 4 years for class. Not always things I enjoyed, but also not always things I didnt like. In fact I enjoyed my major immensely! It was so fun. But the burnout is very, very real, and the workload was similar (even inferior to) regular art jobs. What happens if you like to draw in your off time? You spend your days making and pumping out art nonstop for hours, and then on your free time breaks you draw some more? I personally couldn't do it. I just wanted to do other things
And like.... I spent the first three years being told by teachers (people with stable, contract based jobs) how cool of a job it is to do art, and then the last year getting grilled on how insanely hard it is to make it out there. If you don't have connections, money, an audience, a studio, it's actually impossible. You need to be your own lawyer, abide by the very strict self employment rules that take a severe chunk out of your earnings. Do all of your finance/schedule/marketing etc while on top of that constantly producing work (I know there's people who can do it but, personally, I cannot) I really admire the people who were able to build themselves up as artists from the ground like this (because its definitely possible, just insanely hard)
Also, making something you love into your job ends up being miserable too. I experienced this with patreon, which I posted to as like a chill thing and it just got increasingly hard to make content for it or just post in general, even drawing my own ocs and sharing stuff about them started to feel like a chore.
Maybe it's just me though, this has just been my personal experience but yeah in general I realized I am immensely happier just keeping art as a hobby or its gonna suck my soul out (Since I already experienced it)
I don't mean to discourage anyone, I think the world in general needs more artists. But for that we would need to actually be taken seriously and valued, which sadly we are not, at all. And if there's anyone reading that is considering art as a job: it is absolutely grueling. It's not an easy job. Even if you desperately love art it can suck the life out of you and the joy for what you do
(As an extra sidenote. Artists are usually exploited using this mentality as well. That they are supposed to love their job. So they expect you to work your wrists off "For the passion". Dont fall victim to it)

Kyungsoo: Picture Perfect
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kyungsoo walked into the studio room where you’d been waiting for a recording session.
You were at this point collaborating on a song with the EXO star, being a singer yourself, and today the schedule called for a filmed dance practice.
“Hey,” he smiles, nodding in your direction.
“Hi, Soo,” you wave back, smiling.
He sets his backpack down on the floor against a wall, pulling out the tripod stand where the camera would be set. He sat criss-cross on the floor, carefully setting up the camera and attaching its lens.
“Are you sure you don’t need help?” You look over his shoulder as he finished the last of the set up.
“C’mon, you know me,” he teases, making sure the camera was on and set to record at any given moment. “Do me a favor and go stand over there, let me test out the quality focus.”
You obey and skip to the center of the room, plopping your feet on the floor and rehearsing a few moves of the choreography.
“How’s this?” You say, outstretching your arms and pulling a quick cartwheel across the room.
He laughs. “It’d be fun if that was part of our choreo,” he says, jogging towards the center of the room when he finished and pulling a cartwheel of his own after you.
“Okay,” you say, excitedly garnering your first position at the center. “I’m ready when you are, my lover!”
Kyungsoo coughs and lets out a loud laugh.
“What did you just say!?”
“You’re my lover now, apparently! Haven’t you been sneaking all over social media!?”
He blushes slightly, and you knew the answer to your question.
“I guess it’s gotten pretty public, huh?” He says, rubbing a nervous hand behind his neck. He hoped his face wouldn’t redden so obviously.
“Yeah, but I find it pretty cute that our collab suddenly went from being a fun song showcasing our vocals together to being… an all-out relationship speculation fest! Those shippers are wild and so quick to spread things.”
“Trust me, the boys won’t let me live it down,” he mutters, thinking back to Baekhyun’s non-stop teasing about you being Kyungsoo’s alleged new romantic partner behind closed doors.
“And it doesn’t help that the pictures they caught of us grabbing coffee together twice seem pretty convincing,” you say, finishing the last of your leg and arm stretches.
Kyungsoo laughs nervously, trying to focus on his own stretching before the rehearsal.
If only it didn’t sound like you were taking it as a fun little joke, he thought quietly to himself.
“Ready?” You say happily, standing in front of him with your back facing his chest.
First position, right, he nervously wraps his arms around you, as the choreography called.
The first practice round goes rather interestingly, with a few awkward poses here and there in between transitional moves. When you finish, you both gather around the camera to watch the recording.
“Uh,” you say, looking closer at the camera.
Shoot, Kyungsoo thinks, knowing what’s probably already going through your mind.
“This was okay… but some of the moves are a little…”
“…awkward,” he finishes your thought, noting how far and distant he was from you at certain points throughout the choreography.
You look up and smile at him. “It looks like you’re trying too hard to debunk these rumors about us being a thing.”
“I mean, it’s best if we don’t—”
“Nonsense,” you say, placing the camera back on the tripod and pressing the record button.
“Come here,” you say, outstretching your arms and placing his hands into yours. “Have fun with this choreography, Soo! The whole song is about being in a fierce relationship with another person.”
He follows you back to the center of the room and you stand in first position again. When he wraps his arms around you, you tug at his arms to get closer to make him get closer.
“Don’t be shy with it, Soo. This is art, after all. We have to convince our audience of the performance’s message!”
The shy boy smiles and allows his hands to relax against your waist.
The second practice goes much smoother than the first. There are only less than a handful of awkward steps here and there, but it’s a greater improvement than the prior.
“See, Soo? This looks much more… intimate!” You smile down at the camera whilst replaying the second practice round.
He nods and shifts his gaze from the camera towards you.
He can’t help but wonder if he’s struggling to separate the intimacy of the dance, with some sort of a personal connection to you…
“One more time?” You look up, smiling.
“Let’s do it,” he says, this time reaching out to place your hands into his.
This is what had slowly pulled the boy closer to you. The way you loved your job, the way you gave your strongest efforts into any project, song, and choreography arrangement. It was the way your enthusiasm could fill a room when you submitted yourself to outpouring the best vibe into a project. Not only that, but the way you could make just about anyone comfortable around you.
Especially Kyungsoo.
He felt very comfortable around you in and out of practice, always looked forward to your small coffee dates (though you couldn’t really call them romantic dates, but more of friendly ones), and always looked forward to performing the new song you both had worked on.
Outside of being co-stars, you’d also grown much closer than you’d anticipated, and he couldn’t help but sometimes wonder if you’d grown any sort of romantic interest in him as he had towards you.
He wrapped his arms around your waist at first position, this time pulling you slightly closer than the last.
“Oh, wow, Mr. Loverboy,” you look up, sticking your tongue out at him.
“The message of the song is pretty intimate, so I won’t hold back this time,” he smiles down to you, feeling a surge of bold assurance overtaking him.
For this practice round, Kyungsoo lived up to his word. The choreography felt a lot more intimate than any of the previous practices you’d had to date.
He spun you firmer, swayed his hips against yours smoother, and towards the bridge of the song, his mouth actually made the slightest bit of contact against your neck.
You loved it all.
You loved having a fierce partner who could really pull off a gorgeous, convincing performance. A performer with passionate vocals like his, and now a fierce and shameless dancer to play alongside of you.
Many things about the boy dancing alongside of you fascinated your interests, from the way you grew close as co-stars to the way you grew even closer as friends.
Could he possibly be.. the person I’d always dreamed of being with…?
He most definitely has met all my personal qualities in a strong friend and more.
I wonder.
The final move of your choreography arrangement consisted of both you and Kyungsoo hitting a harmonizing high note as you fall back into his arms, landing inches away from his face.
Needless to say, this was played out flawlessly.
The song ends, both you and Kyungsoo are leveled eye-to-eye, your smiles only centimeters away from each other.
Then, he does the unthinkable.
He smiles.
And it is the kind of smile that catches you so off-guard, you can’t help but feel your face flush with reddening heat as you giggle your way out of his embrace.
“Soo, gosh, I think that was our best performance yet!”
You still can’t stop smiling and gushing over the boy’s perky smile replaying over and over in your head. As you make your way to the camera to rewatch the video, your smile immediately fades almost instantly.
“What’s wrong?” The boy asks, jogging up behind you.
“You’re not gonna believe this… it wasn’t recording.”
“What!?” The boy’s eyes widen tremendously at the thought of the best performance having gone to waste.
“I’m sorry, I guess I didn’t—”
“That’s okay,” he assures, smiling down at you. He takes the camera from your hands and presses the record button firmly, making sure the camera was rolling surely this time. “Who says we can’t do it beautifully again?”
You smile as he holds his hands out for you to take, and you accept. He leads you back to the center of the room and you assume first position as you knew before.
It may sound impossible, but this practice round was miraculously funner and more synced than the last. It felt as if you both had finally found your own personal click with the song in and out, and were finally getting to truly showcase it for what it was meant to be.
The last few moments of the song came in several unexpected surprises. Kyungsoo had once again delivered his end of the final choreography beautifully, and when you met face-to-face again for the dance finale, you impulsively did the unthinkable.
You kissed him.
He didn’t pull back, didn’t make a fuss.
Instead, he gently wrapped his arms around you and kissed you back.
What am I doing!? You think, wanting to pull away from his soft lips but not daring to.
The initial shock hit Kyungsoo for a second, but he didn’t jerk back. He felt as if his manifested thoughts had miraculously turned into reality.
So long I’d been wanting to do this, he thought, but I never guessed what you felt in return.
I’m happy.
Eventually, you pull away first.
“I—I’m sorry—” you stutter, not knowing how to react at the sudden impulse of actions.
The fond boy smiles softly.
“Don’t be,” he whispers.
“But—”
“You did what I’ve been wanting to give you for a while, but could never find a way to,” he admits shyly, cheeks completely flushed.
Oh, you think, not knowing what else to say.
Did I just kiss Do Kyungsoo?
And…
Did Do Kyungsoo just admit that he likes me!?
You turn towards the recording camera and gasp, hopping over to turn it off.
“I guess we can’t post that,” you say flatly. He laughs, taking the camera away from you and studying the video.
“Crop the end, that’s all. At least we waited more than a couple seconds,” he teases.
You reach for your water bottle, still processing the last five minutes of your life.
“Uhm, Soo?” You dare yourself to make eye contact, searching for any signs of possible concern or regret coming from his end.
Surprisingly, he doesn’t seem scared at all.
In fact, he seems a lot more relaxed that he had been all evening.
“Yes?” He smiles at you fondly.
“Uhm… nevermind,” you mumble, turning your attention back to your water bottle.
“Hmm,” he ponders, walking up to you after putting the camera stuff away. “I’m not gonna pretend like nothing happened, but we can keep it a secret.”
“What if I cost us a scandal?”
The boy looks up to the ceiling, then back down to you.
“I think you’ve forgotten we’re supposedly already in a scandalous secret relationship,” he smirks.
You giggle at the realization that you, in fact, are.
“I have a proposition,” he says, holding his hand out towards you. “How about another scandalous coffee date, but this time, you’re my secret lover for real?”
You smile warmly as you place your hand in his, letting him lead you out of the practice room and out to a very familiar and delicious coffee shop near by.

personal collaboration ~ eminem
word count: 2403
request?: yes!
“Hi!! Can I request a Eminem x reader and the reader is also a singer and they do a song together and rumors are going around that they are dating and they confirm it in a interview.
Take your time if you need ☺️ thank you !!”
description: after dating rumors start to spread following the release of their song, they decide it’s time to set the record straight
pairing: eminem x female!reader
warnings: swearing
masterlist (one, two)
(y/s/n) = your stage name
Tumblr media
The last thing I expected when I agreed to do a song with the Eminem was for it to end up as anything more. Getting the call alone was enough to make me freak out, and when I walked into the studio to meet him for the first time I had basically forgot how to function.
He was incredibly kind, even when I was embarrassing myself with my nerves. We took some time to write together, he showed me the beat he had made for the song, and we spent a few days in the studio recording. We became friends soon enough.
We became more than friends a lot sooner afterwards.
It happened the first night we performed the song live. Marshall brought me out on stage and it was the biggest audience I’ve ever performed for. I was nervous, but at the same time being on stage with Marshall gave me the adrenaline rush I needed to get through the performance.
The rush, however, followed me off stage, where I grabbed Marshall and kissed him without thinking. I broke from my trance pretty quickly and pulled away.
“Shit, I’m sorry,” I had said, my face burning with embarrassment.
I was taken by surprise when he pulled me in to kiss him again.
After that, we had pretty much developed an unspoken agreement that we were dating. We didn’t go on any real dates since we wanted to keep our relationship a secret, and since it started while we were on tour, we spent most of our time holed up in hotel rooms or on the tour bus. Neither one of us asked the question to make the relationship official. It just sort of happened naturally.
But, of course, it’s hard to keep things a secret when you’re famous. People started to notice that I was spending a lot of time on Marshall’s bus, and would rarely take the excuse of “It’s just because we’re on tour together” that I would give them. Once the tour ended and I was spotted in Detroit a lot or Marshall was spotted in my hometown, people started speculating then, too. It became a bigger story than I ever thought it would be, and I kind of liked playing into the mystery to drive our fans crazy.
A few years passed of us together, never confirming the relationship but never really denying it, either. We frequently collaborated with one another, which just sent everyone into even more of a frenzy every time we released a song together. It was fun, but eventually we knew we’d have to say something. So we decided to do so when promoting the joint tour we were doing following the release of our separate solo albums.
I was sat backstage, having the finishing touches of my makeup put on as we waited to be called out for our segment. Marshall was stood behind me, pretending to be on his phone but every so often I’d catch him looking up at me through the mirror. I smiled every time he would quickly look away and try to pretend he hadn’t been looking.
“You know, it’s not hard to see why everyone figured out you two were dating very early on,” my makeup artist said. “You two are very obvious.”
I looked at her in mock shock. “What?! I have no idea what you’re talking about!”
Marshall chuckled behind me as she gave me a look. “Yeah, sure. You’re totally not eye fucking each other through the mirror.”
The shocked look on my face this time was real. I tried to say something, but my response came out stuttered. She smirked at me in triumph as she brushed the last bit of foundation over my cheeks.
“I guess you caught us,” Marshall said, playfully. He came up behind me and I looked up at him. “And we thought we were being so secretive.”
I giggled as he lowered his head to kiss me. My makeup artist made a noise of protest and quickly got between us.
“Her lipstick is perfect and I don’t have time to fix it!” she said. “Keep it in your pants till the interview is over.”
We both shared a look before Marshall whispered in my ear, “That just makes me want to ruin it more.”
My makeup artist shot him a dirty look as I started to laugh.
I wasn’t nervous for the interview leading up to it, but once Marshall and I were standing at the curtains, waiting to be announced to come out, I felt my nerves starting to go wild. I worried about how everyone would take it once we confirmed our relationship. They seemed to like it now, but what if I had been reading the situation wrong? What if we told them we were dating and everyone hated us for it? What if it got so bad it became a PR problem so our managers would have to do some damage control by making us fake breaking up? I had heard stories like that from others in the industry, but I never thought it could be a reality for me.
I didn’t realize I was breathing so heavily until Marshall took my hand and looked at me in concern. “Are you okay?”
My heart was beating so loudly I almost couldn’t hear his question. “I’m really nervous.”
That was an understatement, but I didn’t have time to unload all of my worries on him right now.
He squeezed my hand reassuringly. “Don’t worry, it’ll be okay. Our fans have been suspicious for years about our relationship, so it’s not like they’ll be upset when they find out. Take a couple deep breaths, calm yourself down. If you need more time, I can ask them to delay our segment.”
I knew that wasn’t an option, but I appreciated that he would try. “I’ll be okay. Let’s just get out there and get this done with.”
As if on cue, we heard the interviewer announce, “Ladies and gentlemen, Eminem and (Y/S/N)!”
We walked out to roaring applause from the audience. Marshall had let go of my hand and I deeply wished he hadn’t but it wasn’t time to make that announcement yet. We had to ease into it, like we planned.
We shook hands with the interviewer and took our seats next to his desk. I tried not to focus on the many eyes that were watching us so intently.
“Welcome to the show, both of you,” the interviewer started. “And, (Y/S/N), welcome to late night talk shows in general. This is your first time being on one, right?”
“Yeah it is,” I said. I paused and smiled at the crowd as they cheered again.
“That’s crazy. You’ve been in the business for so long and you haven’t been on a late night talk show?”
“Not yet. I’ve always wanted to, and especially after my first album did so well and it was so obvious that my career was skyrocketing. But I got booked for my first talk show gig years ago, before I even did the first song with Marshall, and I got such bad nerves that the night before I was throwing up with anxiety. My manager had to call and cancel the booking. I felt terrible because I heard a bunch of my fans had bought tickets to be in the audience and then I couldn’t go.”
Thinking back on it, that definitely played a part in why I was so nervous for this talk show. Not only was it the one where I would be announcing my relationship with one of the biggest rappers in the world, it was also my first one after a terrible experience years beforehand that led to disappointment from my fans.
No pressure or anything.
“Oh my God, that’s terrible,” the host said. “I’m so sorry you went through that. I hope it’s not as bad now.”
“I’m still pretty nervous, but not physically ill or anything. I am shaking, though, your cameras will probably pick up on that.” I showed the cameras my shaking hands for good measure.
“Well, you have a veteran at the business with you for this appearance at least, so that must help.”
I tried not to be so obvious as I smiled at Marshall. It helped more than anyone knew at this point.
The interviewer started asking us about our albums. Marshall went first to talk about his, specifically his decision to promote this one instead of doing a surprise release like his last two albums. The actual answer for that was that he was using the album and the tour as an excuse for us to finally talk about our relationship, but the answer to cover that for the time being was that he wanted to see how the reactions to the album would be with promotion versus just a surprise release.
When the attention turned to me, I talked about how excited I was to release my third studio album and how surreal it felt to have worked on three albums, with my first two recently having gone gold and my most popular track reaching a billion streams on Spotify. It was easy to talk about as it was something I was genuinely grateful for, so the words flowed out of me effortlessly.
“And you two have become frequent collaborators,” the host noted. “I mean, Eminem, you have a handful of people you often collaborate with anyways - Pink, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna - but (Y/S/N), Em is so far the only person you’ve collaborated with numerous times.”
I looked over at Marshall, my words caught in my throat. Was now the time?
“It’s hard to say no when such a legends askes to work with you,” I said instead, internally cringing at the uncertainty in my voice.
I knew the host had caught it as well, but he didn’t push the matter any further. I almost sighed in relief at that, until I realized there was still so much of the interview left.
“Speaking of your collaborations, you both recently announced you’re going on tour together,” he continued. “It starts next year, you’re going across the country first. Any plans to go international with it?”
“Eventually,” Marshall responded. “We don’t want to announce anything just yet because we’ve been in talks with a few festivals happening over the summer, so that’ll determine when we’ll be able to travel outside of the country.”
“Oh, which festivals are we talking?”
“We can’t tell you, it’s a secret!” I said.
“Can’t blame a guy for trying.” He shrugged dramatically as the audience laughed. “Now, this may be your first official tour together, but it’s not the first time you have both been on the road together. If I remember correctly, back when you did that first song together, (Y/S/N), you travelled with Em for some time. There were a lot of pictures of you getting on and off the tour bus with him, even on nights that you didn’t perform with him.”
My heart started pounding again. Now was the time. I couldn’t miss this opportunity like I missed the last one.
“Well...you see...the thing about those-those pictures is...uh...”
I looked over to Marshall for help. I felt tongue tied and wasn’t sure I’d be able to actually get it out on my own.
He reached over and took my hand. I could hear a few gasps and a hushed whisper through the audience.
“What (Y/S/N) is trying to say is that the rumors that have been going around for years are all true. We’ve been in a relationship since that first tour. We thought it was time we stopped hiding it - or trying to hide it, I guess - and come clean with everyone.”
The audience cheered at our confession and the host looked over the moon at the news. I’m sure he was thinking about how well this would do for his ratings.
Personally, I just felt like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Finally, I felt like I could breathe again.
The interview came to an end soon enough. The interviewer thanked us for being there and we thanked him for having us. We promoted the albums and the tour one last time before commercial was called and our segment ended. As we got up to leave, the interviewer thanked us one more time. I could still see the giddy excitement in his face.
When we got backstage, I immediately went to the bathroom to splash cold water on my face. While my nerves had settled a little after the confession, they started going haywire again as I realized we’d have to see the reactions now that the interview was over. I wasn’t sure I was ready to see them.
“You’re worried for nothing, babe,” Marshall assured me as I dried my face. “The news was well received.”
“Yeah, it was here by an audience and a man who’s gonna make profit off of the news,” I muttered. “We don’t know how everyone is going to take it.”
He put his hands on my shoulders and forced me to look at him. “Listen, (Y/N). We can’t please everyone. There’s always going to be someone out there who doesn’t like our relationship for one stupid reason or another. But, as of right now, the majority is in favor of us. You don’t have to stress like this. I promise, it’ll be alright.”
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I relaxed into Marshall’s touch and let him pull me into an embrace. I rested my head against his chest, taking in his warmth and the sound of his heart beating.
“I don’t know what I’d do without you,” I mumbled into his chest.
“You’d probably be hunched over the toilet throwing your guts up over a late night interview again.”
Marshall laughed as I shoved him away from me, throwing my wet towel at him for effect. “Okay, I take back everything I said. Fuck you, I actually hate you. Relationship over.”
“Sure, tell that to the house we own together and the tour we’re going on,” he teased. “Face it, babe, you’re stuck with me.”
I couldn’t stop the smile that spread across my face.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
