Workout Tips

Hi loves! Here's a few workout tips just to keep everyone motivated! Stretching I know it doesn't seem very important but doing the right stretches can burn upwards of 50 calories for a somewhat short stretch routine! It is also a good way to maintain stamina throughout your workout and to give up part way through! Short Workouts Try dividing a long workout into multiple shorter workouts. For example, instead of doing one 45 minute workout do a familiar 15 minute workout three times back to back. Yoga A good idea is to cool down from a workout with 30 minutes - 1 hour of guided yoga. You can find simple yoga routines recorded and guided online! Scheduling Exercise Here's a good schedule I often follow that I find easy to use: MORNING: 15 minute stretch, 30-45 minute workout, 30 minute yoga AFTERNOON: Optional stretch and small workout (less than 30 minutes), optional short yoga. EVENING: 15 minute stretch, 1 hour workout, 30-45 minute yoga.

You’ve mentioned in a couple of posts that you headcanon Rolan as having depression/a panic disorder. What other headcanons about his mental health do you have?

Anon, I have so many yet so little thoughts about this very topic! I'll try to be as cohesive as I can because my mind can be pretty jumbled. Thank you for your patience!

Disclaimer: I am not a mental health professional! Just someone who also has mental health issues and can relate.

CW: Mentions of Self-harm (Scratching and picking)

Besides those two, I also believe he has a nightmare disorder! These are chronic, vivid nightmares that can either appear briefly or multiple times a night. They can be frightening, upsetting, and disturbing. Usually, his nightmares involve his mother Cal and Lia's mother, and after Lorroakan's abuse, start to involve him as well.

It absolutely does not help hat he usually remembers every detail as he sits there, heart pounding erratically and sweat soaking his night shirt. Sometimes they're so bad it sends him into a panic attack. In a weak attempt to stay grounded, he scratches at himself, sometimes bleeding since his nails are pretty sharp. He may end up vomiting as well depending of the contents of the dream. (Panic attacks can be extremely overwhelming for the body!)

He usually can't fall back asleep afterwards, so he'll work on a scroll, study the weave, or check inventory at Sorcerous Sundries depending on the time of night. Some nights he does nothing, just staring at the wall for hours while picking at his skin, especially around his nails.

When he has someone with him, it's easier to ground himself since they're quick to action when he can't function. Weighted blankets or his partner laying on top of him is great; even a crushing bear hug from Cal and Lia helps.

Before Tav, before a partner, right at the beginning of moving into the tower, he randomly got graphic nightmares of Cal and Lia dying. This made him scramble to their rooms to check on them and make sure they were still breathing, much to their sleepy confusion.

Things do get better with time! Natural medicine and breaking bad habits with the help of his family improve his way of living. While these issues may stick with him for the rest of his life, they become much more manageable with his support system.

Morgan was hoping to spend the night with Halsin during the tiefling party.

She had been feeling good about herself after sleeping with Astarion, even though she thinks he’s mostly full of shit, it’s still an ego boost for her. She trades with a tiefling for something nice to wear that’s not covered in goblin blood, and is low cut to show off her tits. Brushes her hair out and oils it until it shines, sharing a glass of wine with Shadowheart beforehand to get her courage up. But Halsin gently turns her down with an awkward chuckle.

Halsin’s rejection stings and is more than a little embarrassing but she can see thru detect thoughts that he’s preoccupied with getting the grove in order for his departure, worried about the illithids, the cult and the curse. Fine, fine, not the time. She drinks more and makes her rounds.

She shares a drunken dance with Wyll, has a very heartfelt conversation with Gale that she cannot recall for the life of her (and now he’s slightly in love with her, oops) and even gets a nice comment from Lae’zel on how she smells good.

Ends up sliding into Astarion’s lap late in the party, thoroughly sloshed and seeking sloppy make outs. He’s a bit pissy because she’s ignored him most of the night, he saw her shoot her shot with Halsin and fail spectacularly, but he feels better seeing her drunkenly crawl back to him.

There’s also something to be said for everyone else getting to see the hero of the grove picking *him*…even if he wasn’t the first choice 😒 But Astarion is happy because his plan is working at least. For the most part.

Cal is working his courage up to ask Morgan to dance, but Rolan informs him his crush is sucking face with that devastatingly handsome elf and his hopes and dreams are crushed. Lia and Rolan find this very amusing and tease him the rest of the night.
