I'm back after a month of simply marinating in my own filth with more bully content🫶
Since I’ve been playing alot of Pokemon lately, I wanted to draw the trio with some of the Pokemon I think they’d have.
I feel like Gary wouldn't be a Pokemon person, kinda like some people aren't a pet person. Instead, he’d randomly come across Pokemon who were in some kind of trouble and after heavily debating whether he cares enough about them to do anything for a few moments, would take them in with the intent of letting them go after they’re okay. Of course though, the Pokemon in question would become attached to Gary and he’d reluctantly keep them as permanent team members.
I also imagined that those two Pokemon would be mischievous little shits, so I picked Zorua and Capsakid as his Pokemon >:]

Do you have any advice for taking care of a capsakid? A friend of mine found one injured somewhere out west, but they're already caring for a whole team of other pokemon, so they asked me to take it. It'll be my first pokemon, so I'm doing all the research I can to be able to give it a good home.
capsakid are such fun pokemon! you're gonna have a great time with this little guy.
capsakid need a really warm, dry environment with plenty of sunlight. unless you build an outdoor enclosure, you'll need to provide it with a UV lamp and a nice basking space. most of their energy comes from sunlight, but they need a desert grass type supplement added to their diet of grass hay (in the wild they get these supplements from licking mineral deposits).
they tend to be super active in short bursts, so they need a safe area to get their zoomies out and then a nice spot to nap after. they also need plenty to chew, as their tooth sheds regularly and then regrows. they do a lot of teething! you need to teach bite inhibition early, too, because those bites are NOT pleasant. make sure there's nothing sharp at the little guy's level, because they have a tendency to run headfirst into things and accidentally headbutt stuff.
keep in mind they evolve when exposed to fire stones, so dont leave one lying around if you're not ready to handle a scovillain.
good luck with your new buddy!

you know im genuinely confused i havent seen anyone talk about this before but... Why isn't everyone freaking out about scovillain?
like, in competitive I mean.
on the surface, scovillain doesn't look like much at all. I mean look at it.
i mean, its just a mon that looks like a middle evolution with low stats and nothing standout about it other than a unique type, right? Its even in the ZU tier in smogon, which is below pu. So there's nothing special, right?
Well, no. I don't play much competitive, but from what I'm seeing, scovillain is... Or at least should be basically the excadrill of gen 9, if not a BETTER excadrill. It should have serious potential as a mixed sweeper.
Lemme explain.
To start, its ability, chlorophyll, which doubles the speed stat in sunny weather, basically like excadrills sand force. And with a speed of 75, that becomes INSANE speed. Scovillain will pretty much always go first.
And then, its typing, grass fire. Which means in sunny weather, its fire attacks get a 50% boost, so it gets an attack and speed boost in one.
"But kodie, excadrill has SWORDS DANCE to sweep as well as it does! Scovillain doesn't have that, OR nasty plot!"
And you would be COMPLETELY right! But here's the thing. It has something BETTER. growth.
"But that only boosts attack and sp attack by one stage, its not the same, how is it better?"
Is a question I'm pretending you'd ask, but i respect your intelligence, and that you might know a mechanic of growth.
it boosts attack and sp attack by two stages in sunny weather.
SO NOT ONLY DOES SCOVILLAIN GET A SPEED, AND ATTACK BOOST IN SUNNY WEATHER, BUT IT ALSO GETS NASTY PLOT AND SWORDS DANCE IN ONE.
that's already good, but lets look at its typing and moves.
Grass fire, a really good combo. Its very unique, so its a bit hard to expecting to have to counter this type, and grass/fire covers for each others elemental weaknesses defensively. Its only weak to poison, rock, and flying.
But that's not even counting its MOVES. It has giga drain, fire blast, seed bomb, bullet seed which you can slap a loaded dice on, flamethrower, stomping tantrum, zen headbutt to counter poison weakness, etc. So not only is it already in theory an amazing sweeper, but it can HEAL. AND take care of its rock weakness with grass.
Fuck, it has a signature move that reduces the targets defense, and raises the attack by two stages. Which could be used to weaken tanky pokemon, and support speedy allies offenses.
Again, I'm not versed in competitive, I've never played showdown, but like. Why the fuck isn't scovillain talked about more??
All in all, scovillain should be a fucking amazing sweeper, so. Genuinely, Why aren't they talked about more? This is a genuine question. Please answer me.
