cats are literally so amazing. like, there was a time where i didn't like cats but i had literally hardly met any cats, i didn't know how cool they were. i thought they were like dogs but scarier.

but my cats are literally such sweethearts. once you get to know a cat the experience is just magical. they're such sweet little guys and i wish i could tell every cat in the world that its existence is appreciated, loved, and adored.

all of them are so amazing. the hairless ones, the ones with tons of hair, the ones with medium hair, all of them are so lovely. medium cats, big cats, tiny cats, all of them are just so precious and adorable. all cats are so awesome and i'll never stop loving them because they're just so amazing.

The absolute biggest thing I've learned as a trans guy: there is nothing more masculine and manly than not caring about looking or acting masculine or manly. Growing your masculinity or manhood takes time and care - you have no obligation to let the world water your garden when you can do that just fine (and you can, even if it doesn't feel like you can!)

#tumblr polls #hrmm... a little poll perhaps.. about a subject I find interesting.. since this image came across my facebook today #still really not feeling that well. no longer shaking violently and such but I still feel weird and weak much more than usual #They did say my markers for like infection or inflammation were elevated but that they werent sure of the cause so hopefully #it's nothing too serious. they did also say a lot of different things can cause that thing to be higher than normal but didn't go into spec #fics of what. maybe some of them are relatively benign or something. I still havent felt much back to normal since #I got really sick that one time though. I feel fine on and off but then little bouts of feeling weird and sick happen. hrmmm #ANYWAY.. looking for small ways to be productive. such as little doodles on evil ipad or editing game videos #or posting polls or cat pictures or some other like not very labor intensive things #I WISH I COULD FOCUS on writing HHRGGhh... I need to finish my game.. it would be so freeing.. a project that's been looming #over my head for like 5 years even though througouht that 5yrs I've probably spent a total of 3 months working on it lo.. ANYWAY #I still partially really cannot beleive that people CAN see stuff in their heads. There's always part of me that's thinking like. well mayb #e everyone DOES see the same exact thing but we just describe/conceptualize it so differently that we think we're talking about #different things when we're really not. But I have been assured by people I've talked to about it that they can GENUINELY really see #stuff in their heads like as vivid as an actual picture in real life or something. And the other senses are neat too. Like for exmaple I #can hear in my head much better than I can see imagery. I still CANNOT hear vividly like as if I were listening to actual music out loud..#but I think it's developed more than my sight. AND interesting how this varies the creative process. a friend I was talking to on the phone #said they write by literally just watching stuff play before them like a movie. where my process is COMPLETELY different. AND that affects #the content/what details we focus on as well as our individual styles of writing have differences that can be traced back to that.. hrmm

ESPECIALLY from RiverClan #don’t get me wrong he’s super weird in omen of the stars and avos and I think in his super edition (I haven’t read it in a while)#but he’s also a good dad. he’s such a perplexing character I can’t help but find him interesting. at least he DOES stuff yknow #I’ll eat my words if he does turn out to be completely evil or something. but I’ll hate if he does his behavior really isn’t like Tigerstar #-the first. this guy isn’t out here trying to seize power #but ENOUGH ABOUT HIM!! i like when people give atsushi cat-like traits like purring or having sharper-than-average canines and i think we should take it a step further and just keep adding onto it. atsushi should chuff. he scratches on walls and his desk until there's obvious nail marks digging into the wood. he rubs against the others to mark them as his territory. there has to be a meeting held because he won't stop shedding and there's white hair everywhere so a good portion of the agency's budget goes into getting everyone lint rollers. he freaks people out at night because of his tapetum lucidum. and he does all of this subconsciously so if you tell him he does any of these things he'd be absolutely mortified

How do the researchers react to the clan cats leaving the lake for a time?

You mean the little patrols they send out?

They aren't aware of them, EXCEPT for the Beaver Expedition that Dovepaw was on. They found out about that one because they got a phone call from the team in charge of the beaver introduction.

It was NERVE WRACKING. Both teams were terrified the other would injure their subjects. They were horrified when the cats dug out the top of the dam and pulled the squealing baby beavers out, thinking this was going to end BADLY, but practically cried in relief and excitement when the Clan cats baited the parents towards the lake.

(I like to imagine someone on the beaver team ended up hitting it off with someone on the Clan cat team. The wedding cake was cats and beavers.)

But generally? They don't know about expeditions. Sometimes they catch them leaving, but don't have the funding to chase them down.

Clan cats are also not under constant surveillance. Very important to understand this. Clan cats will attack anything that upsets them and good cameras are expensive; they snuck one into the ThunderClan Camp once in like 2009, and Firestar dug it up at the stake and dropped it down the WindClan border ravine because it was freaking his warriors out.

(The cats don't understand that the cameras watch; they just don't like the Freaky Human Thing)

So the team has to be careful, not install too many, and hide the ones they do have. They don't want the cats to move again.

#I try to make sure that my researchers are more like actual wildlife scientists than gods. Yknow?#I think it's more interesting that they have funding issues and can't just install endless cameras #PLUS the cats reach the lake around 2008-ish. So I try to keep the technology accurate #Re: a lot of this is based off techniques they had to use for capturing the footage on Meerkat Manor #I also use the wayback machine to reference the Sirtrack catalogue which was cutting edge tech at the time #And mind you! This isn't meerkat manor. These researchers are ridiculously underfunded #Have i ever mentioned that i loved meerkat manor as a kid? So I went to my room to grab sticky notes to leave my roommate a reminder on the dryer but then I saw my week old mug on my nightstand so I went to put it away and then when I was in the kitchen I realized there's no room for it in the cabinet and now I'm measuring the wall for shelving units.

Which, yeah, it is that. It's definitely that. But it's also this series of texts I sent to my friend this morning:

#adhd #executive dysfunction #i ran out of my meds before my next psych appointment and it turns out they were working better than i thought they were #so i took an old one i never got rid of that i stopped taking because of the side effects. i was so desperate #i wanted to run and move at lightspeed but i cant and it was infuriating #i was stimming on the drive to work with the cheesestick that i forgotten I'd put in my pocket ten minutes earlier #the other meds are working now and i feel a lot better but i forgot to take them with food and now I'm nauseous #and they really named it can't Sit Still And Gets Distracted Disorder #oy #don't mind me #skywalker42 rambles #i might still be in bed if the cat hadn't gently chewed on my hand #i also sucked in a hard candy while getting ready to add some other sensory info and i think it helped so there's a hot tip #i want to sleep for a week and also start training for the circus

Ghost is being a responsible adult and grooming this poor weird pup he found, Price is being a thoughtful pack leader and is trying to inform Ghost that the puppy is not happy, and Gaz is trying to get the puppy to play with him to cheer him up.

This is the same Soap who will bring half of a mouse to Ghost's, Price's and Gaz's doors for them to discover in the morning. Or step on it if they weren't fully awake. And then refuses to admit to himself that it's probably him doing it and not a random stray cat. Even if he would have smelled a stray cat being on his territory. The three of them are convinced that Soap is hiding a cat somewhere because it smells like him.
