I'm gonna ask about AS Four, but more specifically, please tell me about Shadow? I'm so curious how he plays a role in Four's adventure here
I’m happy to elaborate!
Shadow takes the place of several others. He takes on Impa’s role of giving Four help and direction, but acts as a closer companion by traveling with him most of the time. He also acts like the next gen champions in that he helps Four get to the divine beasts.
Shadow first spawned into existence when Four fell to the guardians, springing up as the calamity’s soldier. He exists to torment and mock an already devastated land, and for the first few years that’s exactly what he did. He’s done horrible things, burned towns to the ground, stalked lone travelers who dared walk alone at night, destroying the crops that people needed to live off of.
The thing is, Shadow wasn’t really a person then. He was merely a puppet on strings, following his task as it was assigned. Dot took it upon herself to try and sever those strings, wanting to stop her people from suffering as much as she could.
Slowly Shadow went from a simple tool to someone who could think, feel, and respond to the world around him. His reign of terror shifted to something more mischievous. Instead of trying to hunt lone travelers at night, he simply tries to scare them.
As his connection to the calamity grew weaker, he became more independent, until there was just a small thread connecting him to his original source. This was something Dot couldn’t sever on her own, so she decided to try and talk with him.
He disliked her at first, furious that she’d dare imply he’d betray his creator, but time passed and he began to see her as a friend. She talked about the beauty of the land and its people, and he spent time traveling and exploring. He fell in love with the world, and fell in love with the idea of being alive, of being a person. He severed that last tie himself, and agreed to help her stop the calamity when the hero woke up.
If he woke up. 100 years was a long time to wait.
When Four did wake up, the first thing Shadow set about doing was finding something to help him get down from the plateau. By the time he found the glider and arrived to say hi to Four, Four had made decent progress and all of them were currently arguing over what color the tower should be. He showed up to see it glowing green, then blue, then red, then green again, then red, then violet, then green (again), then blue, red, blue, red, blue, GREEN, blue, violet-
Shadow gets to the top of the tower to see them all smacking their slates together on the middle pedestal like it’s some sort of angry bumper cars game. There’s lots of hair pulling and shoving involved. All of them are arguing. The only person wearing anything more than underpants is red, who got the warm doublet. Shadow has to process the fact that there’s four of him and also what they’re all currently arguing. He’s half tempted to just float away.
Anyway they eventually notice him and draw their weapons (which consist of two boko bats (Red and Green), a hammer (Blue), and a boko bow (Vio)). The tower was left on blue.
He does manage to explain, and Dot uses some energy to inform them that yes, she trusts him, and he’s there to help. They reluctantly agree, and Shadow joins the party.
After terrorizing the people for a decade, stories have been passed about him, so whenever they go into a town, he hides in their shadow (usually Vio’s, but sometimes someone else’s). He helps them with where to go, and assists in getting them onto the divine beast. He also tries to help them practice when they’re combined, usually by settling little disputes or helping with decisions that could end with him splitting. He can’t help in shrines, though, which is another reason why Four avoids them at first (the other reason being that he’s forced to be combined, which is difficult at first).
Another big thing Shadow does occurs later in the journey. They’ve defeated the first divine beast, but it was a close battle. They freed the spirit of the champion (somebody they hadn’t known well to begin with) and Blue gets the power from Vah Ruta, though it’s something they all have access to as Four.
Anyway, they decide they need more practice being combined, but after that near defeat they’re all stressed and prone to arguing. Shadow suggests they explore a little to relax before they work on teamwork. A break could really do them some good.
Anyway, they end up at Gerudo town.
Being too far apart from one another causes them a lot of emotional distress, but so long as they stay in the same map zone they should be fine, so they agree to stay at the desert for awhile.
Green goes off and kills some moldugas (for fun and for profit). Red and Blue get Gerudo vai clothes (and don’t tell the others how they’re getting into the town). Red does some quests for people in town and impulsively spends all their money on arrows, then sells all their molduga guts and buys more arrows (much to Green’s frustration). Blue meanwhile scams some random guy out of several pairs of boots and immediately gets them dyed blue so nobody else will use them.
Vio? Well, he goes exploring and ends up at the Yiga’s camp. He stays hidden, but Shadow gets caught. The thing is, since he’s a fragment of the calamity, the Yiga are 100% on board with following him. They believe that his words are the words of their master, and Shadow absolutely plays along. He ends up ‘capturing’ Vio, and then claims that he’s “convinced this fragment of the hero to join the side of darkness!” and the two end up ‘ruling’ the Yiga clan together (but in reality are working to take it down from the inside).
Anyway, when the other three go looking for Vio they end up uncovering this, and the whole scheme is blown. They do manage to take down the leader of the Yiga though, and end up blowing the entire place up. It’ll be awhile before the Yiga are able to retaliate, which is good for them! With that all done, they proceed to the next divine beast (Vah Naboris).
At the end of the quest the four split up, teleporting to the divine beasts. They fire upon the calamity, and then teleport to the castle to regroup, combine, and fight it once and for all. Shadow tries to help, but is near useless in the fight. It’s up to Four and Dot now.
In the end, they win. Exhausted and battered, but victorious. Shadow knew that the end of the calamity would mean his source of power dwindled, but he expected to vanish completely. Shadow made sure to say goodbye as the calamity fell.
But he didn’t vanish, not completely. His energy was drained, but he did not die.
Nowadays he spends most of his time resting in Four’s shadow, only partially conscious but able to use his powers to speak with him mentally (much like the colors do when they’re combined as Four). Exiting Four’s shadow and using his physical form is exhausting, but he does it when he has the energy. Blood moons still occur despite the calamity’s defeat, and Shadow gets a burst of power from it. He always utilizes it to spend time with Four, and it’s become something they both look forward to.
Shadow tags along during Four’s next adventure with the chain, but Four hasn’t mentioned him to the others yet.

ships i like and why i ship them: a small, affectionate rant before bed
zhongchi: probably the first ship i ever interacted with. i may have started playing genshin for them. I specifically remember reading modern, non canon au fics on ao3 when i was still low AR and did not have liyue unlocked yet just to enjoy content of them without spoiling the story too much. those were good times
love the betrayal, the reciprocated manipulations, their individual bloody pasts and their juxtaposing love for humanity/family. the marriage chopsticks. god, the amount of threads I've read explaining those... and ofc you can't forget the official art with them by the harbor with the gingko leaves falling cinematically. i think that's the art that drew me to them lol
there's also something so deliciously tragic about a near-immortal being who's fated to succumb to erosion in due time, falling in love with a mortal man who's always within death's cold embrace. not to mention the subtext of their themes and principles. geo and hydro, stability and turbulence, land and sea, they crystallize when they meet in the middle, etc etc
kaeluc: another pairing I enjoyed the absolute shit out of, way back when I wasn't even playing the game yet. I remember learning about them while I was deep in my mxtx phase, specifically tgcf, and I'm pretty sure I dipped my toes in after I learned that they used to be sworn brothers. keywords here being used to. hook, line, and sinker. before I knew it, I was also reading fanfics about them, but only modern, non canon au ones because genshin terms made no sense to me and i didn't want spoilers. then I played the game. and then—we get Kaeya for free. I mained the shit out of that man for months.
and then. I fully entered the fandom, only to be immediately slapped in the face with the mistranslation issue.
and I get it, honestly, if you like ragbros good for you, I'm happy for you, but me personally, I will scorn hyv until the day I fucking die because had they not messed this up? kaeluc would've have been so powerful. KAELUC WOULD HAVE BEEN SO FUCKING POWERFUL
how could they not be? they're childhood friends but they're also forbidden romance coded, and rivals/enemies coded, but they're also soulmates. they don't just know each other, they're two halves of a whole, they know each other.
and the themes, don't even get me started on their themes. fire and ice, red and blue... paimon's line about them being similar (i.e. kaeya's a shady mf who fights in the day/diluc's a bright fire in the night) is one of the most romantic lines ever. they're sun and moon but only because they complete each other. also, lamp grass and calla lily? that's them as flowers, but they're the other person's ascension material like hello???????? fucking wild.
and ofc this kaeluc section can't end without me mentioning arundolyn and rostam. for those who don't know or have read/heard of those names but never really dug deep into it, arundolyn and rostam were knights of favonius around the same time as the cataclysm, and you can read about them in artifact sets such as brave heart, defender's will; and partially from the elegy bow
the reason they're here is because there are too many damn parallels between them and kaeluc to just be a coincidence.
arundolyn was a claymore user (see: ferrous shadow), he was the "lion of light,"; he was naturally gifted in strength but still trained hard and would later become the grand master of the knights; he'd push rostam to drink wine and tell him to have a little fun; he gives up his title and weapon after rostam dies
on the flip side, rostam was the swordsman who created the art of favonius bladework (see: favonius sword), his title was, "wolf pup,"; when he and arundolyn played as children, he was the stand-in for the champion knight of aristocracy; he "ruled the shadows," by protecting mond with ways the knights did not approve; rostam dies in an expedition to expunge the evils poured forth from the cataclysm...
I'll let you connect the dots there. I just also wanna point out, as a final note, that in the favonius sword's description, it says, "the childhood friend and spiritual counterpart of Arundolyn, the Lion of Light, whose name was Rostam, the Wolf Pup." ok. yeah. moving on
xiaoven: i very quickly realized after reading the genshin webtoon that venti was gonna be one of, if not my most favorite character. and i was curious as to who the people wanted to pair him with. keep in mind, this was around 2.0~2.2 I believe, so when I searched them up, the only canon backing I could find was the music scene
and boy, was that scene enough because holy shit, the brain rot these two gave me??? of a god who embodies freedom, and the last remaining yaksha chained to his duty????? they were so thematically opposed and beautiful, it wasn't hard to fall in love with them
by the time 3.0 came rolling in, I've already stopped playing, but that didn't mean i wasn't aware of how we were well fed by canon. from the trailer to venti full on attending the lantern rite and sitting down with the liyue gang; it was one of those interactions that transcended everything
and of course, OF COURSE, they also canonically addressed the fact that venti's music soothes xiao's soul. that's intimate. that's deep. that's so fucking romantic and nice and beautiful in the most tragic way...
also, we can't forget the depictions of god and servant here. the holy themes, the worship. the promise of immortality and foreverness, but also the threat of it. i just think xiao doomed with karmic debt and venti vowed to divine erosion is such a soulmate connection, and I'm also delusional
that's all for now but there's so much more...

Hi! So here's an interesting ask.
What if Jim was born as a wizard, with Hisirdoux "Douxie" Casperan as his teacher?
Jim's magic woke up at five. Barabra is accepting of Jim's magic, but James Sr is disgusted at his son being a wizard and calls him 'an abominal freak of nature who should be wiped off the earth' which is what led Barabra to divorcing James.
I'll say that Jim's magic power seemingly came out of nowhere in this AU (well, his ancestors possessed magic, but Barbara for example had no idea magic was real). Jim's magic is too strong for someone born in this era. His element is light too, which is rather rare.
After her divorce, Barbara does her best, trying to find a good magic teacher for her son despite having no connections to the magic world. She does so because Jim's magic goes out of control frequently and she's scared he might harm himself. Initially, her attempts are futile as she only finds all kinds of con artists.
Barbara finds out Douxie by accident when she catches a glimpse of his magic and realizes that it's as real as Jim's. Initially, Douxie is reluctant to teach Jim (as he isn't a master wizard), but as he realizes that there is no one to show the kid the proper way to do magic, he accepts the mentor's role.
Jim likes Douxie tremendously, though he thinks of him as his big bro rather than his teacher (and well, Douxie is fine with that - he just fails to be strict or formal).
Toby learns about Jim's secret relatively fast - once Jim starts to believe that Toby will react adequately. After learning about the magic, Toby often joins Jim during his lessons at GDT Arcane Books (though he mostly fools around and annoys Archie).
Jim (and Toby too) tries to join Douxie in his occasional monster hunting, but it's where Douxie is really strict (as they are still kids and he feels responsible). Not that it changes a lot though as those two sneak out and hunt small creatures (like goblins) rather often. During one of those outings, Toby and Jim meet Blinky and Aaarrrgghh and befriend them. Another reckless hunt leads to meeting Kanjigar, who isn't happy about kids risking their lives. Kanjigar also learns that Douxie (who is Merlin's apprentice) is in Arcadia.
Since then Douxie, Jim, and Toby become regular visitors at the Trollmarket. Kanjigar is fine teaming up with Douxie sometimes, but it's a big no for Jim (and especially Toby) to join.
Ironically, that is the reason why Jim and Toby bond with Draal. Those three have a lot of secret missions together, which resulted in several changelings' deaths.
That activity picks up Strickler's attention. He knows that there's a wizard in Arcadia, but has no idea who it is. Still, he decides to awaken Angor Rot and use him as a bodyguard.
Strickler also decides to find and force Angor to train a shadowmancer to counter the unknown wizard's light magic. Angor picks up Claire and Strickler switches Enrique with NotEnrique to force her to cooperate (and have an overseer).
Meanwhile, like in the canon, Kanjigar dies. And in this AU Draal succeeds him as the next champion. Jim is obviously part of his team by that time - those two are basically brothers-in-arms. Draal is also more cooperative as he has learned to work in a team before becoming the Trollhunter.
Unfortunately, Strickler accidentally learns that the mysterious wizard is Jim (they are close in this AU too). He plans to use Claire to convince him to switch sides (as he knows about Jim's crush). Strickler also approaches Barbara to have a backup plan (and ends up falling for her).
Claire is conflicted once she learns that Jim is a wizard, like her. Because of her circumstances, she hates her own magic and sees it more as shackles. Initially, she thinks that Jim is also forced to practice magic, but soon realizes he is free. Since that moment, she starts to hope that Jim might help her to escape and gives him small hints (she cannot tell him openly as Angor is watching her from shadows). Alas, Jim is slow and doesn't catch those right away, but eventually realizes that Strickler is the enemy and Claire is also on the villains' side (initially, he doesn't realize she has no choice).
As for Draal, he discovers that Nomura is also in Arcadia (there is some more bonding between Jim and Draal as both fell in love with an enemy).
Claire manages to have a proper talk with Jim (which Angor deliberately 'ignores') and explains everything. They both have a plan that Claire works as an inside agent and helps the team defeat Bular. However, Strickler catches her and uses her as a hostage to lure Jim (he plans to use him against Draal later).
Jim seemingly cooperates only for the rest of the team to barge in and defeat Bular. Nomura still ends up in the Darklands (she is close to switching sides though) and Strickler escapes with the help of Angor.
Claire is now free and Jim promises her to free her brother. He is slightly concerned that Draal won't agree to open Killahead only to discover that Draal also wants to go there to save Nomura and kill Gunmar, no matter what everyone else is thinking. Draal asks Douxie to upgrade the amulet (he believes that Merlin's apprentice can do it), but Douxie thinks it's impossible for him. Meanwhile, Jim and Blinky discover the information about triumbric stones and the quest for Eclipse begins.
Strickler never leaves Arcadia in this AU. He lies low though as he's scared that both Claire and Jim will look for him to kill him (and even if those two forgave him, Draal wouldn't). Besides, Strickler doesn't believe that the Trollhunter and his team can defeat Gunmar - he thinks that they will only free him, which will result in disaster (for him as well as he failed Gunmar). Strickler decides to prevent them from opening Killahead and later dispose of the team (even though he regrets that Jim is among them). He also uses a binding spell on Barbara to ensure his safety.
Meanwhile, Angor contacts Claire and makes a deal with her. In this AU Claire knows that Angor is a victim of circumstances and can relate, so she isn't against freeing him.
As for her shadow magic, she is reluctant to use it as it's connected to her unpleasant memories, but as both Jim and Douxie (who took over as her magic teacher) encourage her, she is more willing to give it another try.
The Janus Order betrays Strickler (they also send some stalkings after him), and he is on the run. He has no choice but to come to Jim for help. Jim agrees to help him but asks to free his mother and Angor first.
Actually, Strickler half-expects that Jim won't keep his word so he's surprised when the Trollhunter's team actually gets rid of stalkings.
Barbara in this AU is aware of mostly everything minus the fact that Strickler is a changeling and about the binding spell (as Jim decided to keep it from her so that his mother wouldn't be heartbroken). Strickler confesses everything to her himself, seeking her forgiveness. While Barbara doesn't forgive him at once, she is willing to give him a chance to atone.
Despite the plan, Draal decides to go to the Darklands alone as he feels that it will be tough there for everyone else (and previous trollhunters kept reminding him that the Trollhunter should stay alone). Jim manages to tag along at the last second.
They find Enrique, and Draal sends Jim towards the exit. Jim gets Enrique out (like in the canon), but gets captured and ends the next cell to Nomura. Gunmar doesn't kill him for now as he plans to mind-control Draal and force him to kill Jim (and mind-break him entirely).
What Gunmar hasn't expected is that Jim teams up with Nomura and helps Draal escape. The other teammates arrive just in time to help them too.
Still, Gunmar is out of the Darklands like in the canon. Angor Rot goes alone to fight him and ends up mind-controlled. Gunmar also contacts the Janus Order and Usurna, starting to gather his forces. Gunmar contacts Morgana through Angor's mind as those two have a link and also takes over the Trollmarket.
Everyone who escaped is slightly desperate and decides to contact Merlin.
In this AU, Merlin doesn't destroy Jim's life, but he's pretty much willing to sacrifice Draal if that means defeating Gunmar for good (and Draal actually sees no problem with that until Nomura beats some common sense into him).
Jim and Claire decide to try and power up the amulet using their powers (as they both instantly dislike Merlin). It's rather dangerous for them as both are inexperienced and the power up is temporary, so Draal only has some limited time until it stops working.
Still he manages to win (with everyone's assistance).

Totk au idea, with ideas involving end game spoilers under the cut:
Link as the sage of forest! Like saria! A lot of totk revolves around exploring, sure, but it focuses a lot less on the untamed wilderness and Link’s relationship with it than botw, which has been his defining characteristic for the past six years (and generally for nearly forty). If Link was a sage, I’d like for him to go back to his roots and be something the grand scheme of hyrule wouldn’t consider as important anymore, but still is.
It’d be so cool to see what kind of powers that’d give him, it’d be a canon aligned way to give him all those cool nature magics I see a lot in fics! Maybe he could talk to animals, grow plants, purify running water, enhanced senses in the wild, animal empathy, all sorts!
When I was playing, I thought the secret stones were already assigned to their respective elements, and each sage just took up that mantle like in oot, tp, etc. However, in the wiki it said that each stone actually changed according to its wielder! Obviously I went looking for receipts in game, and I found them!
Each sage has their own ‘signature’, featuring a (sheikah?) eye and scribbles, which appears in the background of their sacred realm room, but most importantly here on their stones. Similarly, each signature has a colour associated with them. Rauru has white, sonia has a vivid yellow. Zelda gets her stone from rauru, and guess what colour it has? Yellow. Zelda and sonia have identical stones, down to the signature. It has an eye on the left, and a few curved lines branching off roughly the tear duct.
When ganon steals sonias stone, not only does it grow to fit him as the stones did noticeably for the goron sage, but it gains a new colour (that I previously thought to be general ‘corrupting evil’) and a new signature, one with a figure 8 on the right.
Now, at the very end of the game, Link drives the master sword into ganons secret stone (why or how it was on a dragon instead of fusing with it I have no idea), in theory destroying it, blowing it up and saving the world, yada yada (there certainly was a detonation). However, we could assume enough of the stone survived intact, or it got rewound at the same time Link and Zelda did, or that it reformed later so as not to upset the balance or smth (sages are famous for their reincarnation/spiritual successors, after all), which leaves us with one free secret stone of phenomenal power. Literally who else would zelda give it to?
Thing is, Link isnt very... Light and time magic are very much more zeldas thing. Link is more the wildcard, the child of the forest, the knight, the hero of the sword that seals the darkness. His job is practically to fade back into the summer mist once the world is saved, you can very much see that in totk with him refusing to associate with the champion title on his travels, and pre AND post game with him happiest vibing in zeldas shadow, not bringing attention to himself.
There is a precedent to a forest sage of course, saria, his best friend in a past life. In fact, the oot forest sage was originally intended to be the wind sage - it was in early screenshots of the game before it was released! There’s no reason at all that Link wouldn’t become a forest sage upon taking up the stone. Zelda has enough magic light in her for them both, with a kingdoms worth to spare XD.
I wonder what it would appear as? Necklace, gauntlet, anklet, earring, glove, belt, chest piece, circlet? A sheath? A bracelet? A hair ornament?

FINAL ROUND-UP ❤️‍🔥
Here are the last submissions to the first edition of the Sith Obikin Fest! In total we received over 40 works🔥
Stay tuned for our next announcements / thank-yous and a very exciting project coming SOON!
• Birth Astride A Grave (a play in two acts) by nngi_e
After his defeat on the fiery shores of Mustafar, a captive Obi-Wan Kenobi receives four visitors in the darkness of his cell:
a beloved Master long gone,
a beautiful Queen shrouded in blue,
a cruel Shadow covered in scars,
and the Sun at the center of it all.
• Vader Closes In by ArtisticlyBeautiful
Vader finds Obi-Wan in his cave on Tatooine. He will do whatever it takes for Obi-Wan to feel the heartache he has to live with now.
Set during the Kenobi series.
DW: Non-con, bottom obi-wan, ruthless vader
DNW: Piss, sweetness
• Three Measures of Blood by your cheap thrills (eurosthewanderer)
Sith! Obi-Wan stumbles upon a boy in his travels and instantly feels his great potential in the Force.
He snatches Anakin before anyone else can and proceeds to teach him the ways of the Dark Side.
DW: Go wild. Anything like the Jedi Quest or Rogue Planet, but they are both Sith. Perfect excuse to dive into the Sith lore and create their practices. You can make it as long as you want with Anakin of any age. But the world-building of the Sith is essential.
DNW: Only brief mentions of the teachings. Seriously, you can make it as wild as you can, but details are essential.
• wild animals i have known by travellingcircus
Reverse age AU - Set whenever
Sith Obi-Wan (wild and borderline feral), Jedi Master Anakin (always toeing the line of being a darksider but never falling)
Really I just want sith Obi-Wan to call jedi Anakin daddy (no age play). A plot would be nice, but I am far too happy with nothing but smut.
DW: Daddy kink, possessiveness, obsession, top Anakin, bottom Obi-Wan, they're disgustingly cute about each other but not in a healthy way
DNW: piss, scat, vomit, age play, omegaverse, unhappy ending, major character death
• Rage, rage against the dying of the light by Golden_Daffodils
Palpatine miscalculates. Killing Obi-Wan Kenobi is the reason Anakin falls, but he did not expect the boy to rebel and try to kill him in return when Anakin learns who he is and his role in Obi-Wan's death.
Would love a angst filled fic, with Anakin falling because Obi-Wan is dead, as Palpatine thought he would, and that biting Palpatine in the ass lol
Also it's up to you if Obi-Wan is really dead or not. I just want to make clear that the most important person for Anakin will always be Obi-Wan.
If nsfw, bottom Anakin/top Obi-Wan and lots of tender/passionate sex reunion.
No rape/non con, hardcore kinks, Anakin kneeling to Palpatine, Anakin killing other Jedi (I don't want him to be the instigator but he can kill to defend himself should you wish to go on that route), anidala, Obianidala, QuiObi.
• Bound By You by BlueAreTheStars
Reverse Age AU - Takes place in GFFA
Peace in the galaxy. A shaky treaty resulting in a tri-annual competition to see who reigns for a short period of time: the Empire or the Republic. It is not built to last.
Anakin Skywalker, older but no wiser from his Clone Wars escapades, is of course the Jedi's chosen champion, as much as he does not wish to be. There is no match for his power, his skills, anywhere in the galaxy now that peace has been declared but when a lithe young man steps into the arena, with gold eyes and an obvious hard-on for him, maybe Anakin has finally met one.
• mine, always by DPRen
Set in Rots. Canon divergence. Obi-Wan kills Palpatine in a fit of jealous rage at seeing Anakin kneel to be Palps apprentice. And now Anakin has to try and get his master back from the dark side while fighting his own internal battle. No unhappy endings ( happy sith murder husbands pretty please )

omg my first platonic fic
this is a platonic showmaker & chovy (& faker) runeterra au with proplayers as league of legends champions (kindred). i used a lot of league of legends canonical lore and then spun it with my own ideas :]
idk how tumblr works again but i realize I can do a lot more long form messages here so I will probably use this blog to put my thought process about writing fics? i will put that below, but it has spoilers so if u wanna check it out probably read the fic first !!
named after the sleep token song:
i chose this song to name it after this not only because the obvious kindred relation with "the eyes of the wolf / the mouth of the lamb" but also because of the other lyrics!
"for so long I have waited / so long that I almost became / just a stoic statue fit for nobody" is very much the grey man coded.
"the vicious cycle was over the moment you smiled at me" would talk about the creation of the kindred, and lamb and wolf. they are each others escape.
"i know i know the way that it goes / you get what you give / you reap what you sow" well... kindred. they give death, and... ok imma stfu.
"and just like the rain / you cast the dust into nothing / and wash out the salt from my hands / so touch me again /i feel my shadow dissolving / will you cleanse me with pleasure?" i think speaks to the relationship between lamb and wolf again.
"nobody can say for certain / if maybe it's all just a game / when I open my eyes to the future / I can hear you say my name" is what I perceive to be the kindred and the grey man's relationship. :>
in the end notes i vaguely touch on the idea of the "LCK Mid" which I think is one of thee most interesting dynamics in lolesports. I've been wanting to write plat fics for a while to sort of explore. in my eyes the holy trinity of the lck mid would be faker, chovy, and showmaker. man I love them. also my grammarly keeps autocorrecting showmaker to shoemaker and its so annoying lmao.
but anyway they r SO INTERESTING! in this fic i tried to include a lot of parallels, from how showmaker as lamb knows more than chovy as wolf—because chovy hasn't won anything internationally unlike showmaker has. chovy's more hungry, because he hasn't won a world championship yet. not to mention their relationship with faker—each having a diff specialization and aspect of their gameplay. showmaker has said many times about how he doesn't want to be the next faker so i made him despise the grey man here. with faker as the grey man i again use the whole "alone at the top" trope because... oh my god I'm a sucker for that. he's got everything, but everyone hates him, and he is lonely. plus my ending + the cyclic nature of the world/of the esports... faker will always be there. it will always come back to him. there will be other midlaners, but its always faker at the end, or so it seems.
anyway! i had a lot of fun writing this fic. it was very challenging and out of my comfort zone because it was platonic and abt people I haven't written about before, and because its a lot more... abstract? it relies on parallelism and reading between the lines. idk. my brain is dumb. i am also dumb. i just vomit words on a google doc and pray for the best.
if anyone has more questions u can ask here on tumblr or on retrospring. please be nice bc again tumblr scares me. i am easily scared.

Are you still taking incredibles au suggestions? If so, can I get a scene of one (or more than one 👀) of the boys when they're all grown up?
EXCUSE TO USE SOMETHING I WROTE A MONTH AGO FOR FUN YAY
This one is probably canon eventually, but just in case-- *sets in the ambiguously canon pile* There. Now I have an excuse if I someday drastically change things XD
------
Wild gunned the motor of his bike, tapping it into his super speed and going almost blazingly fast down the highway. He knew he was pushing it a bit much, especially since he’d already used his powers a lot today, but his worry was speeding him, fear that he’d be too slow.
He’d been assigned as a special guard to Zelda precisely so this wouldn’t happen, her father a politician who had several enemies around the globe. The threat to Zelda’s safety had gone up sharply in the past year, and so Wild (as an aspiring hero, and due to a rather complicated string of events) had been asked to be her personal guard of sorts.
She’d hated him at first, which he understood, especially regarding her circumstances. She was barely allowed to leave the house, and he could tell having him hanging around only made it more unbearable. But over the months as he’d shadowed her, and they’d run into a few close calls together, she’d switched from cold animosity to genuinely enjoying his company... and him hers.
Which was why he was pushing himself harder than he should be in order to catch up to the men who’d kidnapped her.
Wild’s heart jumped as he finally caught sight of the car he’d been following in the distance, a white van that would have been nondescript but for the notably absent license plates and a couple suspicious dents that looked like bullet marks.
Heart in his throat, Wild reached the back of the van, setting his bike to remain at a constant speed as he stood up on the seat. He jumped the short distance between it and the van’s bumper, and quickly grabbed a tool from his belt, prying at the handles of the door with it.
A banging sound was coming from the opposite side, a regular pounding against the door, and he felt a flicker of relief. He smiled a little to himself as he gave the door an extra wrench, and the lock broke open with a resounding crack as the doors flew open.
Wild deftly avoided being flung onto the pavement, and swung himself inside, meeting the wide green eyes of Zelda Floriana Hyrule.
A gag covered her mouth and she’d been tied up rather tightly, but she was obviously the source of the banging sound he’d heard, her legs facing the door. She must have been trying to escape on her own, but apparently hadn’t gotten far.
Wild quickly kneeled beside her and pulled at the gag, Zelda staring at him in surprise and relief as he gently tugged it off.
“Champion!” she gasped once she could speak, and he gave her a warm salute in greeting. “How did you... never mind, I’m sure you figured it out quite easily.”
“Decoy wasn’t half bad, it took me a couple minutes to realize what was up. Did they hurt you?” he asked worriedly, getting to work on her bonds. She twisted herself around so he could better pull them off, and he quickly freed her, watching in concern as she sat up and gingerly rubbed her wrists.
“No, not really. I’m fine,” she said, wincing at the sight of her rope burns. “All they did was tie me up and gag me. Mind you, it was with the most foul-tasting rag in existence. Ugh!”
Wild smiled as she she spat to the side with a disgusted look on her face, then twitched an ear at the sound of a faint click.
He abruptly grabbed her and threw them both down as several loud gunshots crashed through the back of the van, pulling their heads down. Peering forward through the small window to the front seat when they paused, he saw the smoking barrel of a gun, and this time Flora yanked him down out of the way as more shots were fired.
“I get the feeling they know we’re trying to escape,” Flora breathed, her eyes wide. Wild adjusted his mask, then extended his gloved hand towards hers with a smile.
“In that case, time to go.”
She took it, and he deftly stepped off the van and onto his bike before helping her do the same, shielding her all the while. Once he knew she was seated and holding on to him, he tossed her a helmet, then swerved away from the van, angry yelling and more gunshots accompanying him.
“Hold on,” he warned his passenger, and Flora tightened her hold around his waist as he accelerated, letting his powers speed them along. He couldn’t go quite as fast with a passenger since his speeds were a bit much for anyone but himself (he was still a little mad at Wind for puking on the seat that one time), but he had other tricks up his sleeve.
“Champion!” Flora warned with a squeeze, and Wild looked behind him at the motorcycles now chasing them, red insignias glaring menacingly.
Ah, just what we needed.
A sudden bang made his ear twitch again, and he deftly swerved out of the way of the bullets being shot at them, taking an abrupt turn onto a side street. From there he went down a couple alleyways, putting a little distance between them and losing a few of their pursuers, but he could still hear motors roaring behind them, and occasionally a shot blazed past his head.
“That way!” Flora’s voice suddenly spoke up, pointing a hand towards the docks. “You should be able to lose them there!”
Wild swerved towards the area, heading for the tightly packed buildings and docked boats. A few workers were milling around, but quickly got out of the way when they saw the bikes screaming towards them.
Wild tried in earnest to lose their pursuers in the maze-like area, taking odd routes and turns, but they were smarter than they looked, and since he couldn’t reach his usual speed, they stayed on his tail. He continued to swerve and take sharp and unpredictable turns, but he just couldn’t shake them, and Wild suddenly found himself running out of dock.
He glanced around him one more time, then revved the engine and sped forwards right towards the edge.
“What are you doing?” Flora gasped, tugging on his arm. “Champion!”
“It’ll be fine!” he shouted back, going even faster. Flora gripped his waist in an almost constricting hold as they streaked along, and her breath was fast in his ear.
“It’s a dead end!”
“Not really.”
“You’re going to drive us straight into the river!”
Wild grinned in spite of himself, and looked reassuringly back at Flora.
“No I’m not.”
Then he truly tapped into his powers, the engine roaring beneath them as he felt a euphoric buzz zip through his bones. The edge of the dock sped towards them, and Flora let out a shriek as they went up a pile of discarded boards and flew into the air.
They hung for a few glorious microseconds, silhouetted against the moon as water rippled below them.
Then they just barely landed on a barge that happened to be going by.
Flora gasped and Wild kept up their momentum and continued going, revving the engine as he launched them off the end off the boat. Flora let out a yelp, but they landed safe and sound on the other side of the river from their pursuers.
Wild paused for a moment, pulling to a stop a bit aways from the bank so they could look back, and Flora let out a breathless laugh in his ear as the bikes that had been chasing them were forced to a halt. He smiled at the sound before getting back on the road so he could be sure they were safe, and Flora gave him a small squeeze.
“You’re insane!” she shouted over the wind, but there was a thrill in her voice, and she laughed again as Wild continued to streak down the road.
Wild grinned in return. “People have been telling me that for years.”

Hi there! I hope you're doing well! <3 It's been a minute since you last posted, but you did mention being super busy. Thought I'd drop by and wave!
....
Sooo, I was thinking about a ShikaNeji AU that I had in the waaaay back of my mind (amongst many, many others) that was focused, in a very general way, about a Light and Dark dichotomy in which Neji and Shikamaru lived in, respectively.
For some reason, I picked up this idea, dusted it off, and fleshed it out a bit.
It all starts with a legend about the Tree of Light, which is massive and growing out of the mouth of a volcano, supposedly keeping an ancient evil sealed away. The tree towers high over the mountains beside the volcano (I was thinking a small mountain range with three peaks, the middle one the sealed volcano with the tree) and is where the Hyuuga clan (one of the Four Clans of Light) resides. The Hyuuga have wings and work with the other clans in protecting the Tree; typically the four clans are fairly strict in their traditions, as there is a fear of breaking or bending those traditions will lead to the Tree's destruction. (Spoiler: the traditions have no affect on that lol)
The Four Clans of Light are the Hyuuga (bird demons maybe), who reside within the Tree's thick boughs and branches; the Akimichi (perhaps best described as faeries? or druids), that live along the volcano/mountainside along the southern slope, a woodsy area that spreads into the valley at the base of the mountains; the Yamanaka (psychics and/or telepathics that are really good at growing flowers) live in the Yamanaka Valley and are typically seen as the first defense for the Tree and also look after the humans that have built up a large town just outside the valley; last, but definitely not least, the Inuzuka (...I mean, canonically Inuzuka are essentially one step down from dog/wolf demons from Inuyasha lol, so they can just be that step up) are spread out amongst the mountains, protecting the Tree's flanks.
To the North of the Tree of Light and its mountains is the Shadowed Wood. The entire area is always cast with the Tree of Light's shadow throughout the year and is mostly covered with clouds. Tales of no-so-good nature circle the Clans of Light, stories of boogeymen and darkness and sadness overwhelming those who enter. Typically spoopy tales to keep the kids from wandering off, but have grown over the centuries to be taken as stereotypical fact among the younger generations.
The Clans of Darkness are scattered within the Shadowed Wood; the terrain beneath the clouds diverse and covers a large area. The most elusive are the Aburame (...bug demons?? lol), where exactly this clan resides is unknown, but they are highly respected and seeing beetles is seen as a sign of good fortune; the Uzumaki (red-headed fox demons!) had been within the far north-eastern section of the forest, but haven't been heard from in years, with rumors of their leader, the powerful fox deity Kurama, falling ill; the Uchiha (up-their-own-ass cat demons) live among the humans within the village just north of the volcano, along the river that flows down from the mountains; everyone knows the Nara (deer/shadow demons) as most of the forest is their domain and they have been known to manipulate the shadows within a person's soul to their own ends, thus are avoided by the general populous.
That's a general overview of the world building. Wish I could focus on writing anything these days lol.
The idea is that Neji is the bodyguard to the disgruntled Princess Hinata, who was declared to have a "weak" spirit at birth, so was put on a path to be the Leader of the clan. While her sister had a "strong" spirit and put into training to be the Champion of the clan. Hinata struggles with her confidence, especially in front of her father, but is more open with her cousin.
Hinata and Neji are very close, more like siblings, Hinata calling him brother outside of Hiashi's earshot.
Neji believes in her strength, but has already been beaten down by the Hyuuga's Traditions, having witnessed his father's death from what he perceives as Hizashi's breaking traditions, and does his best to comfort her, even assists in her combat training despite Hiashi's protests.
Anyway, a surprise attack upon the Tree by the Akatsuki (a constant thorn in everyone's side; they always approach the Tree within a large, red cloud, because that's super cool lol) causes Neji to fall from the tree and land somewhere within the Shadowed Wood, one of his wings being broken during the battle. Guess who finds him?
Shikamaru, of course! XD
It's a story about seeing a new perspective and Neji realizing he can make his own choices and not rely on traditions or elders to dictate his life.
....
I think that's all I wanted to share on this go. Again, hope everything's going well for you!! Thanks for reading my rant and have a great Morning/Day/Afternoon/Night!! <3
Oooooooo I LOVE THIS. Here's some little designs I threw together 💙💙💙💛💛💛
(sorry they're kinda janky)

Fanfiction master post
I have an Ao3 account now!! :D I’m Skye_the_Lofty_Nutcase over there, you can find my profile here.
This has not been updated in a while, sorry, I write too much lol. *sweating* However, you can find all my writing using the tag #writing on my blog and you’ll find not only the stories below but snippets, bonus scenes, and all kinds of stuff! I’ll eventually try to update this post to make things more accessible, sorry it’s a mess. >_<
A general note on my fanfiction: I work in healthcare, so sometimes injuries or illnesses might be more detailed than people are comfortable with because to me it’s just normal, but I don’t make things excessive or gratuitous. I will also never write any explicit sexual content. At best things will be steamy, but nothing will ever be NSFW.
My story tags! You can find fics and their bonus content with these :) I also have some extra highlighted tags that you can find by clicking the search bar at the top of my blog.
Breath of the Sky // Blood of the Hero // Elastic Heart // LU in Healthcare // Dad Squad // Good Ganondorf // Imprisoning War // Fierce Dadity // Secrets of the Shadows // Forsaken AU // Wild Spirit

Homesick - Oneshot

Mild Adjustments - Oneshot
Summary: When the Chain steps through a portal and ends up on a seemingly floating piece of rock, they suddenly realize that there was far more to the Hero of the Sky’s title than they previously thought. Starring Sky and Wild with Twilight, Legend, Warriors heavily involved, and a speckling of Wind, Four, Hyrule, and Time. General, mild angst and illness, Sky being feral and not bearing in mind how his insane actions affect others.
Fierce Revelations - Three part story
Summary: When a battle spirals out of control, Warriors finds a familiar mask in Time’s arsenal and decides that desperate times call for desperate measures. Time then has to confront what it’s like to be on the other end of the mask, and the repercussions that come with it. Emotional hurt/comfort, some introspection of a few characters, angst, and family bonds. All the boys are present but the stars are Time, Warriors, Sky, and the Fierce Deity.
Surf’s Up! - Oneshot
Summary: When the Chain settles in early, Legend seeks out some peace and instead ends up having a very eventful evening. Because where Wild’s concerned, nothing can be peaceful... especially when you throw Sky and Warriors into the mix. Fluff, fun, and chaos with the knights and the veteran.

On Display - Vignette
Summary: When Warriors is pressed into using his attractiveness as a distraction, Four steps in to save him from the discomfort of the situation. Starring Sky, Time, Warriors, Twilight, with Legend on the side and the rest of the boys in the background. Sickfic, Dad Time to the Rescue, Sky having a 0/10 experience, Wars, Twi and Ledge being scared and caring brothers.
Elastic Heart - Multichapter fic, curse reveal story
Summary: When Sky goes missing, the Chain scrambles to figure out where he is and what happened before it's too late. Featuring Sky as the centerpiece of the story, even though he’s not always actually in it, and then starring all the Chain. This story is designed to act like a LU arc, with lots of character interaction and highlights around a central plot. Angst, humor, hurt/comfort, drama, fluff, adventuring, and fun. Also featuring a sprinkling of Twilight Princess characters as the Chain explores Twi’s Hyrule.
Numb - Oneshot
Summary: Nearly losing Twilight was devastating to the entire Chain. Sky managed to hold it together the best, though, and seemed to be doing fine. Until he wasn’t. Starring all the boys with Sky at the center. Heavy emotional angst and with some mild comfort to soften the blow, Sky has a mental breakdown and it isn’t pretty.
The Caregiver - Oneshot
Summary: Twilight tries to be there for everyone, and he usually doesn't need any kind of help in return. Except on some days. Too bad he refuses to reach out. Angst and mild emotional hurt/comfort, starring Twilight being the Big Brother who decides to tough things out on his own and comforts himself
Final Hour - Oneshot
Summary: When everything goes horribly wrong, Time desperately attempts everything in his power to fix it. Wind instead chooses to be the self sacrificing Hero, but the end result isn't what Time expected it to be. Based on art by kikker-oma. Heavy angst, emotional hurt/comfort, Time throwing caution to the winds (har har) when everything falls apart. Starring Time, Wind, and the Fierce Deity.

hello my sillies!! since there was a bit of interest in more ab the nonsense that is my take on godswap mianite AU i went and dug up some of the brainrot I wrote last year but never shared outside of a private discord server + new stuff that I've recently came up with :D Enjoy! ❤️
- Jordan was born to parents who are priests of Mianite and raised in the temple- and ultimately was meant to be Mia's champion, and was trained as such for the majority of his life. However, being around mianite for most of his life made him cynical of the god and his principles, and went he got older, he left to seek out the god's brother, pledging himself to Dianite and wanting to bring about chaos. Amused and flattered by the man's near blind loyalty, Dia makes Jordan his champion
- His primary weapon is a firework crossbow gifted to him by Dianite himself (has piercing 8, mending, quick charge and unbreaking V (and flame on it, for use with arrows)) Plays off the sparkly and the fact that this man is a goddamn amazing sharpshooter no matter what universe he's in
- Mianite instead finds his champion in Tom Syndicate, the formerly deceased son of lighthouse keepers in the realm- and is brought back to life by the god (Mia never explains why specifically Tom was chosen, is described to people as just a "godly omnipotence" kinda thing)
- Shortly after Jordan, Tom, and the priests (aka FyreUK, with Wag and Matt under Dia, K.Tom under Mia) arrive and start making a mess of the realm with their shenanigans, a pirate ship captained by a 4th priest named BruteAlmighty "Phil" and two people- a parrot shapeshifter by the name of Sonja OmgitsVoidparrot and Tucker Jeriicho (normal human... allegedly)
- Sonja and Tucker both grew up in Ianarea, and with Phil's arrival from the End, have been searching across the realm for their missing goddess, and their messages led them to the Spawn Island (which I wish was canonically named istg) where supposedly a ruins containing information is hiding (Jordan and Tom both claim they know where this is. they dont)
- When Sonja was younger she was named Ianite's champion at a ceremony in Ianarea and was gifted her shapeshifting abilities as a way to hide from forces of evil and get into places more secretly
- Idk how canonically Nadeshot/The Modesteps enter the realm in character but basically at some point a flying ship appears and from it drops Captain Engine Failure and Skipper Coppereyes, more Dianitees (probably there to mess with Jordan) because Dianite having the most members is hilarious to me
(I got an ask about EF so I'll elaborate on her dynamic with everyone in a separate post >:] But bottom line put two chaos makers and an explosives enthusiast (Copper) in the same room it never ends well xD)
- I'm still thinking on this but with FyreUK, their priestlyness was given to them as a group due to the presence of the shadows from the get-go. When the Darkness began encroaching, the gods all sought out their respective priests and gifted them with powers to protect their respective domains (Dianite took in two- one to look over his temple in the nether, one to keep in the overworld because. chaos agenda- that one's Wag) and guide their champions when they found them
- Wag takes Dec's place by this logic i guess, he lives by the nether portal and will be anyone's personal tour guide because he likes doin it. and yes he absolutely uses any excuse to mess with people to mess with people he can be a menace a lot if he wants to
- Also Dec is a Wizard, I haven't developed him yet (he also has no design dont worry about it) but yes. Mans took on Athar himself he's just built different
- Syndisparklez and Foxxsize agenda always love me a good enemies to friends to lovers kinda shit. most of it is Capsize/EF flirting horribly with Sonja (and her not sure how to reciprocate but wants to) and Tom and Jordan with their usual "i fucking hate you i wish you were dead (read: i want to kiss you so bad)"

Okay I have to know more about the case Wild is involved with in the au if you have any crumbs
Alright! It’s a murder case, because of course it is. And if I’m being honest, I haven’t came up with who was murdered yet. I want to make them a reference to one of the Champions somehow.
And with the case-and the other cases I want to add eventually-the murderer is always Dink/the bag guy of the actual comic. I’m pretty sure people call him Dink. But, during Wild’s case, even though he is eventually proven innocent, the real murderer is not found. And Dink acts as a new prosecutor, going under the name “Shad Widow.” Like Shadow. His personality would change to mirror the current defendant’s personality, but with a darker twist.
Wild is generally calm and quiet in the comic, laid back and self-retrospective(there’s a word I’m looking for that I can’t remember but this is the closest I got). Dink would be similar but more sinister, taking deep, personal cuts at Wild and Nick while calmly eating a shish kabob. Because there’s got to be comedy in there somewhere.
Oh, and the one who contacted the Wright & Co. Law Offices was actually Sky! He read about some of the events of the “Bridge to the Turnabout” case in a newspaper/article, and it stuck with him. And when Wild got accused for murder, Sky remembered the defense attorneys. But Nick and Co. had met Wild before, at the mall! Yes, the doodle about Pearl and Wind sitting angrily at the lost child center at a mall is canon to the AU. Nick, Maya, and Pearl didn’t catch Wild and Hyrule’s fakenames, but Wind did introduce himself to Pearl as “Zephyr,” which is the name I gave him for this. But I’m getting a bit off track. Now it is time to describe the murder scene.
The crime scene is in a park near the mall. There are a cluster of trees were the murder took place. It happened at night, and the investigation happens next day in the afternoon. The victim was stabbed with a sword, it being snapped in half by some unknown force. The half of the blade that wasn’t still in the victim was sent to get tested, but no fingerprints could be found. The witness-whom I also plan to be a reference to one of the Champions-was patrolling the park when they heard the victim’s scream. They rushed over to the scene and saw Wild, out of breath, clearly having ran towards the scream just like they did. But, they blame the murder on him, somehow thinking that he was the killer. Now I’m thinking that the Revali-like is the witness.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Well, I do have a bit more, but nothing that’s directly related to this case. More like other case ideas and idea for the other Links. Note, there is not a case for each Link, I can’t do something like that lol. But yeah, that’s just about it for now.

Hi! Here's a slight angsty idea. What if Claire was kidnapped as baby and raised to believe she was Morgana's daughter?
In an effort to make the lie convincing, and as a side affect to make sure Ophelia and Javier can't find their daughter easily, Morgana changed her name to Fontaine.
As for NotEnrique, let's just say Jim's the older sibling in this AU since the Nuñez parents didn't want to risk having another kid, only for a repeat to happen.
Jim is still the Trollhunter though.
Oh, another angsty one!
So, Morgana feels she needs an actual magic user in addition to the changelings to help her get out of her imprisonment. She decides that the best solution is to raise one herself (well, kinda).
A search for a baby with a good shadow magic aptitude leads her to Claire. The Janus Order has never gotten in trouble kidnapping babies so it's not that problematic here. The only difference is that there is no substitute baby, so Ophelia and Javier start the search frantically.
Morgana picks two changelings to act as Claire's parents for the public but she commands them to treat the baby as her own daughter (basically, Claire is kind of the Janus Order's princess in this AU). Morgana communicates with her 'daughter' either through possessing one of the 'parents' or via dreams. Claire started learning shadow magic early on and has made good progress.
When Claire is older, she starts to question how Morgana, who has been sealed for centuries, can be her mother, but Morgana invents the plausible lie that Claire is the creation of her magic and the two are connected to the point that if Morgana dies, Claire will disappear..
Initially, Claire and her fake family live outside Arcadia to throw off Javier and Ophelia, but they move back when Claire is 14. Morgana initiates it so that Claire can watch Strickler's actions (as she absolutely trusts Claire and has doubts about Stricklander).
As for Jim and his relationship with Enrique, in this AU Barbara had another relationship that gave her a second son (and another bastard ran away, this time when the kid was only a month old). Enrique is older in this AU, he's five by the beginning of the Trollhunters. The switch happened when Enrique was only nine months old, so basically Jim has had NotEnrique as a brother for more than four years. Jim suspects nothing, only thinking that his little bro is too spoiled and annoying. NotEnrique, on the other hand, has gotten dangerously attached to both Jim and Barbara.
Claire is under a lot of stress as Morgana forces her to practice her magic which is based on negativity. She has only two outlets - Papa Skull music and theatre. That's why she joins the school play.
When Jim finds the amulet, there are three people from the enemy's camp who learn about it - Claire, who notices it during the lesson, NotEnrique, who sees it at home, and Strickler, who learns much like in the canon.
Claire reports to her mother about the amulet and gets an order to seize it before anyone else (as Morgana wants to use it as a bargaining chip). Claire decides to seduce Jim (not aware that he's already head over heels for her).
NotEnrique, on the other hand, is deadset on getting the amulet from Jim before Bular learns who is the new Trollhunter. He wants to keep his family safe from the mess.
Strickler also wants to get the amulet. He could use NotEnrique for that, but somehow he doubts that NotEnrique will give him the amulet and not get all the credit for himself. So Strickler comes to the Lakes' household and meets Barbara (NotEnrique is obviously upset and tries to shoo Strickler away).
From now on, there are three people trying to get the amulet while not letting others succeed. The complication is that both Strickler and Claire start to actually fall for Barbara and Jim respectively. It's even worse for Claire, who has trouble understanding her budding feelings. She even starts to wonder if she can convince Jim to switch sides and become Morgana's champion.
Everything goes downhill when Jim accidentally exposes NotEnrique with a gaggletack as NotEnrique tells him Strickler's true identity out of spite. It leaves Claire the only one off the hook, and Strickler begrudgingly suggests to her to unite their efforts, promising her that Jim will be fine. However, Claire doesn't have her advantage for long as NotEnrique exposes her as well once he realizes that the girl Jim dates is actually Morgana's daughter.
Jim has a final confrontation with Bular and barely wins (Claire at some point blasts Bular to give Jim an advantage). Unfortunately, Claire ends sucked into the Darklands together with Nomura.
Strickler still runs away and later returns with Angor. He feels that he needs some protection both from Jim and Morgana who should be enraged for what has happened to her daughter. However, Morgana actually doesn't mind Claire being stuck in the Darklands - she thinks it can be a fitting punishment for falling in love with Merlin's champion (she plans to free her later).
Jim plans to venture to the Darklands and save his real brother and Claire (as he realizes that he should listen to her story first before judging her).
In the Darklands, Gunmar imprisons Claire for helping to kill Bular (he would rather kill her, but he realizes her importance to Morgana). Claire bonds with Nomura and hears about her history with Draal. Nomura is sure that dating an enemy can only lead to heartbreak and tragedy and that love turns into hatred once the lover learns about the deception.
Angor Rot never loses the shadow staff in this AU, but he drops it at the Trollmarket when he dies.
Jim ventures into the Darklands and saves Enrique, but is stuck like in the canon when the Killahead is destroyed. That's how he meets imprisoned Nomura and Claire. Jim and Claire have a talk and reconcile.
When Jim's allies come to save him, they also save Nomura and Claire. Seeing that Claire has succeded, Nomura decides to try reconciling with Draal.
Claire finds the shadow staff at the Trollmarket and picks it up. She has no idea that it belongs to Morgana though - she thinks it's just a great staff for busting her shadowmancy. It turns out to be a grave mistake as Morgana uses it as a conduit to possess Claire.
Initially, there are just occasional blackouts, and Claire herself is unaware. During those, Morgana contacts the remains of the Janus Order, has a deal with Gunmar, and revives Angor Rot.
Strickler returns, and Jim and his team learn that Gunmar is out and that some magic user is helping him. Strickler suspects Claire, but Jim is sure his girlfriend will never betray them (the irony is that both are right).
Claire starts to realize that something is wrong but tries to solve it herself first, and fails miserably. Morgana takes over and escapes. Meanwhile, Gunmar and Angor go to Merlin's tomb and recover Merlin's staff without any complications.
Jim is desperate to save Claire from Morgana's possession. In his search for a solution, he stumbles upon GDT Arcane Books and meets Douxie. Douxie admits that he's a wizard, but his expertise might be limited, so he suggests waking up his master.
Merlin isn't happy to wake up amid the mess. His staff is stolen, his student is involved for some reason, and his supposed champion is in love with Morgana's daughter (or student, or whatever)! Merlin refuses to help Claire (both because she is a shadowmancer and because he simply cannot do a thing), and Jim tries to reach her soul himself.
Claire temporarily snaps and starts a mental fight for control with Morgana. Morgana brings back her lie about them being too connected, but Claire realizes that she wants to be free and would rather die than live under Morgana's constant control. With that determination, she banishes Morgana out of her mind.
The final battle approaches and Merlin tries to talk Jim into taking his elixir. He's less successful because Jim is already angry with him for not helping Claire. He still agrees that it would be difficult to defeat both Gunmar and Morgana.
Jim shares his concern with Claire, and she admits that she could also use transformation magic on him and give him the ability to turn into a troll at will, but she isn't sure if it will work properly and that it might have horrible consequences, and that Merlin's elixir can be a better and safer solution. Jim says that he trusts her way more than he trusts Merlin, so he's willing to risk.
Claire's magic works as intended, and the team faces Gunmar and Morgana. Claire goes against her 'mother', fully expecting to die together with her. She's rather shocked when after sealing Morgana, nothing happens.
Later, she gets some visions in her dreams regarding her true family and decides to reconnect with them.

More AU thoughts:
BH C1 Class Swap and the Gods
Due to the class changes, paladin!Orym and cleric!Fearne have actual ties to goddesses that were developed before the campaign. Which in turn affects the "Saving the gods" debate that Bells Hells has once Predathos and the Ruby Vanguard are known.
Orym:
Starts as a paladin of either the Wildmother, Dawnfather, or Everlight. Wildmother matches druid town vibes, Dawnfather and Everlight, by their commandments (and alignments), match a bit closer to Orym's personality
Honestly, I'm leaning a bit toward Everlight because "1) Lead with mercy, patience, and compassion. Inspire others to unite in fellowship. 2) Aid those who are without guide. Heal those who are without hope. 3) Those who are beyond redemption, who revel in slaughter and remorseless evil, must be dispatched with swift justice." sounds like Orym's sort of deal over the Wildmother's commandments. And given Keyleth's friendship with Pike, Champion of the Everlight, I could see this goddess catching on in Zephrah a little bit
I also haven't ruled out whether or not Orym might switch to the Matron of Ravens after Will and Derrig's passing as some sort of form of mourning. She's also a goddess with presence in Zephrah because of her most recent Champion, after all
Fearne:
She's a Moonweaver cleric
The commandments very much fit fey whimsy and stubbornness: 1) Seize your own destiny and pursue your own passions. 2) Let the shadows protect you from the burning light of fanaticism and the absolute darkness of despair. 3) Walk unbridled and untethered, forging new memories and experiences.
Plus the Moonweaver lives in the Fey Realm, so she's there for worship selection
Not to mention as the moon goddess, having a Ruidusborn worshipper just makes sense
Debate
It really just boils down to Bells Hells having long-standing proof that the gods can be helpful and good. Every time Orym and Fearne are healing and protecting them with magic, it's magic a goddess granted them to help
So it definitely takes some of the black and white arguments off the table since they can't say the gods haven't (semi-indirectly as they do with anyone not a cleric or paladin) helped them, in particular. Unlike in canon, where the closest they get to godly help is FCG's barely realized faith in the Changebringer and Orym getting his sword blessed/Chetney's trial
Also, debate about whether the Moonweaver actually has domain over Ruidus as a "moon" or not
Split Teams
If Orym is a Wildmother paladin, that is such a juicy mess with Bor'dor
The traitorous twig is going to have his ass protected by a guy powered by the goddess he hates most. Where was this when his mother was being taken away?
And like, even with a different goddess, it's still the idea of "Why didn't the gods help me then?" and "How can you believe when they didn't save your husband or father(-in-law)?"
And the whole Temple in Hearthdell mess gets even messier because Orym is actually a holy person too. And he just can't convince these people that there's a more honorable fight to be had elsewhere, that they shouldn't be oppressing this town
Orym definitely isn't feeling great about the mess they make fighting and then destroying the Temple
Later, Orym is kind of disgusted to find out about the plans to spread Vasselheim agenda in a town that truly does not want it. It's definitely not the kind of religion he grew up with in Zephrah.
Also, I kind of love that for Team Wildemount, Deanna and Fearne will have a sun and moon clerics theme going in this AU 💕
Fearne finally gets to Commune with the Moonweaver and ask about her power over Ruidus (gosh I wish we could get that answered in canon. Matt, please). And probably about whether her best buddy Orym (and the other Hells) are okay
