What is the collector in this au and what role does Caleb (wittabro’s name) play

not sure, actually! really, they could fit in just as they were. a child of the stars who got bored and became a god. but their vibe is far more astrology-like and more like the personification of the space and stars, rather than a kid with a star-theme. also probably a god of the moon/eclipse, just for funsies. nobody is entirely sure what hes about

Caleb is a whole game changer. I think I may just change Hunter to a changeling, same with all the other golden guards. maybe Belos fucked around and made some deals with the fae and continues to nab changeling kids to try and form into the new Caleb. so, Caleb himself is pure human, along with Belos, but he fell in love with some cryptid. probably not the exact same as what Eda is, but somewhat similar enough.

I do think it'd be funny as hell if Belos was actually stealing changeling kids tho. he played the fae at their own game. oh, you steal human children and replace them with your own? well, how about I steal YOUR kids and give you NOTHING? get fucked.

as you can imagine, whether or not he's made any deals with them, the fae don't like him. but not enough to do a lot about him, because most of the fae don't have this funny little thing called Empathy. also, they can tell he's a fucked up dude with some weird goopy monster curse (curtesy of Caleb's lover) and they're fascinated by whatever messed up thing he was gonna do next. like watching a train wreck, but you're standing right next to the rails.

I love everything about your new princess au fic but—just like with the Actual TOH—I’m categorically hyper fixated on Vee. Her opinion of Luz is so interesting. I can imagine a scenario years ago when they’re much younger and Belos brings Hunter to the labs. Hunter’s a bleeding heart normally but it’s worse when he’s younger and isn’t as comfortable masking that. And that leads Belos to make some comment like “I thought this place unfitting for a princess, but perhaps Luz would be better suited to accompany me next time,” as blatant manipulation to get Hunter to shut up and do what he’s told. But Vee just hears that and naturally is inclined to believe that Luz is a sadist because of that. There’s so much potential with any number of scenarios exploring how they feel about each other when they meet it drives me insane. Love love love your work

GOD I LOVE THIS I CAN SO SO SO SEE IT HAPPENING. i think vee has probably also heard belos fondly talk about his daughter, which she considers an automatic red flag because everyone belos likes is someone who has tortured her. and it's possible she's heard him or lilith make comments about how it's a shame luz doesn't have her own magic because if she did she'd probably be interested in the basilisks. vee's impression is very much that luz Knows, and that if luz DOESN'T know then it's only because she's decided not to care on purpose.

i think that in the years she's spent with camila there's for sure been some pain and need for them to hash out vee's feelings about luz because vee is like. i know you gave birth to her and you want her back but she's never been in danger she's always been his favorite her life is perfect and you're going to leave me because you still love her more

it's like a subverted version of a changeling myth where vee is like "i'm just the inhuman thing you got stuck with, i can't expect you to want me but it still hurts" and camila is firmly like "no. i am taking home Both of my children."

Ghostling — An original story that I’m currently planning. Stella Cho is a supernatural—a humanoid with miraculous powers. She can peer through the veil and communicate with the realm of spirits. But supernaturals have always been persecuted, and laws against them are only becoming stricter. After saving a hapless changeling from his abusive stepfather, Stella decides to fight back against the humans and the supernaturals who would seek to harm her brethren. And maybe, just maybe, she can make a difference.

The boss battle of the fucking century.

(Warning- Minor TOH finale spoilers)

We had the ‘Season Finale’ boss battle in one of the campaigns I play in. And it was a doozy.

Ok so it’s us-

Nickel: The Lawful neutral centaur artificer who has the feet potion (which i’ll explain in a moment) in his bag of holding. He has spent a 4th of the campaign falling down stairs.

The Feet Potion: an unholy concoction made from the sludge that lurks in the lowest level of the city of Sharn. It smells absolutely putrid. It has the consistency of nacho cheese, and it has a moldy green hue. It is dubbed “The feet potion”.

Drinking the feet potion will cause your feet to grow feet and those feet to grow feet, and those feet to grow feet, and so on. until your entire body is completely covered by a horrible web of feet and toes. Eventually if the effect is not reversed by dispel magic or remove curse or something with a similar effect. You will turn into a sentient foot. Once the effected has turned into a foot. The spell has to be cast at 4th level. Or you can simply stay as a foot for the rest of your natural lifespan if you desire.

These feet will match your own if you have humanoid feet. If you do not have humanoid feet, Then you will grow humanoid feet in place of whatever you have instead of feet. And not suffer any other effects.

obviously for the best effect use this potion on someone that has humanoid feet. Unless you want to see a horse with human feet.

(the best way we can think of to describe this was like that dude from spy kids hands. but it’s feet and ten times worse)

Camdyn: The Chaotic good Half elf bard who did a total of 4 damage throughout the whole fight.

Vespeirous- the lawful evil human blood hunter. Who spent most of the fight trying to not fall to his doom

Jinx- A chaotic neutral changeling sorcerer that was probably the mvp of the fight. Sort of…

Vrs

An evil wizard named kufufurfurerfuer (Who I will call the wizard for short)

The location: The top floor of ‘Th Daily Bugle’ The top newspaper in Sharn

Highlights- (in chronological order)

After Vespirous steals the wizard’s hat that turns out to be illusionary. Nickel hands Jinx the dreaded feet potion…

Jinx Summons a beholder using a spell that I forget the name off Gives the beholder, all four of his dockers and the feet potion and instructs it to shove the potion down the wizard’s throat.

The jar smashes on the wizards face. He gets about half of the contents in his mouth. Enough to make him suffer the effects later on.

but we’re not there yet no no…

then the wizard strikes the building with lightning

Vespirous who happened to be standing on the bougie glass balcony

Falls to what should be his doom. But NO NO NO..

he says to the DM. with a knowing smirk on his face.

“Pegasi Pegasi won’t you be my megasi”

This phrase was was established earlier on in the campaign to be a little rhyme that calls Pegasus to your location to pick you up like a taxi. So he is scooped up by the pegasus and saved from certain doom just to be shot down by the wizard immediately..

he tries to call another but it doesn’t work (The DM won’t allow it) so he makes a platform under him with his magic paintbrush and spend the rest of the battle, trying to get back up to the battle.

Anyway we go about the battle. Everything is on fire because of the lightning Nickel is on fire. J Jonah Jamison is on fire. The only people that are not on fire are the wizard. And Jinx who sits safely atop the knife, wielding beholder he summoned.

Combat continues. Jinx tries to heal nickel who’s almost at zero HP with wither and bloom, but fails Camdyn uses vicious mockery, to call the wizards mom a hoe. The beholder throws knives at the wizard. Nothing too unusual.

until the wizard can no longer move at full speed because his feet and legs have grown so exponentially.

And Jinx decides to cast Nathiars mischief This.. Summons, a bunch of molasses Which snuffs out the flames.

The wizard falls over. Tripping over his newly formed horrific feet. And Camdyn, sick of this guys bullshit. Runs up to him to curb stomp his head.

I shit you not that is exactly how it was described when they went to attack.

“I am going to curb stop the wizard” and you know what happened? HE FUCKING DIED!

THEY CURB STOMPED THE FINAL BOSS TO DEATH IN THE GOOP

Only later did we realize the similarities between this and the ending of the Owl House, Which we all cackled about for a minute straight.

After the battle. The soul sucking wizard dropped his hat which we destroyed because it was sus and a bunch of stars that turned out to be souls fell out. Jinx wanted to eat one but everyone convinced him not to. (unfortunately) However Jinx and Nickel now both have a jar with some of the stars.

(That’s why we where after the wizard in the first place. He was sucking peoples souls. As one dose)

However Jinx did get to eat something. After destroying the wizards hat, a little note, that said, “I am not dead, I have what you want” materialized we all agreed that it was bs so Jinx promptly ate it. It simply dissolved into sugar. Although the DM did have him make a con save.

We also had to wrestle an identical note away from an NPC. Which Jinx also ate. He was fine. We had to run so the authority’s wouldn’t catch us. On the way out of the building we found what we think is probably J Johan Jamisons Skull. Which Jinx put In his bag for safe keeping.

Ok I'm gonna dump a bunch of mvrck toh AU info i thought about over the past few days just so i can theoretically. Focus on my homework instead.

So Maverick & his mom live on some non-titan-corpse island somewhere in the boiling sea. I'm thinking of naming it "mirrors edge" or something equally dramatic. The island has a ton of really shiny stones on it, some of which are so reflective they look like mirrors, hence the name.

The island has a biped demon population of "changeling" type guys. Might call them something else i haven't decided yet. They can steal people's appearances and through that siphon our their magical powers or their life source or somethingggg.. like the first step is "getting mirrored" where if they see your face and try to mimic your appearance. Then, the more they learn about you (including non-physical things like your name, your hobbies, abilities, your past, etc) the more they can steal from you. Eventually they "change" you where you start to become one of them. Maybe. Idk if that's too off base for toh lore. Translating my oc lore into TV show lore is hard alright. Anyways. Changelings don't have reflections either so that's a way you can tell whether someone is the real deal. BUT people who are in the process of getting mirrored lose their reflection as well (bc it got stolen! Literally!) So that can cause some paranoia and mayhem or whatever. It's like among us.

The changelings on the island are magically bound to it (the mirror rocks specifically maybe? Idk if that's too like the collector-disk-prison though. That was done thru titan magic idk if normies could achieve it) by a group of witches who hope to keep them from running loose and. Draining and/or Turning everyone i guess. Eventually the population dwindled down to basically nothing because everyone was getting Taken and the remaining witches turned to creating grimwalkers in order to have ppl to continue the vigil

I was thinking of having the grimwalkers have a bonus 'ability' of like. Slowing down the "mirroring" and "changing" effects? Like because they're a clone and appear the same as someone else, it's harder to steal from them? Because they're not unique. That's kind of depressing but whatever. The same could also technically apply to identical twins.

So like. Bc Maverick and his mom are identical, and they're not the first grimwalkers with that face to get Turned, they last a lot longer when they eventually get seen and Mirrored. Maverick's mom ends up getting too affected and he's essentially left alone on the island, trying to keep up the binding spell.

Other people find the island at some point (i was thinking maybe some people fled during the events of toh? Like when Belos started getting too severe about wild magic, during the draining spell & subsequent collector takeover, etc) and Maverick is like uh oh. I have to make sure none of em get Seen... while also being oblivious about what's happening on the boiling isles LOL. Reo (& other relevant mvrck characters) would be in this refugee group and that's how they meet Maverick and become friends ❤️

After belos' defeat i figure the refugees would probably return home. Especially cuz mirrors edge is NOT SAFE for a different reason lol. Maverick would go along with them for funsies and also possibly to broaden his search for grimwalker ingredients. For his own replacement. He's aware he's a clone & desensitized to the implications so he wouldnt see anything wrong with that. This would be where oc & canon character interactions would probably happen. Especially with Hunter bc i think forcing them to meet would be hilarious and also bad for everyone's mental health.

Yesterday’s lie

ohhhh so much to talk about so much pain so many theories TOH SPOILERS LET’S GO

I had been wondering if Creepy Luz would end up being a sympathetic character. since there was a chance both her and Hunter had been created in a similar way, and Hunter has thoughts, feelings, memories, a personality, then why not our doppelgänger? Turns out she is not a grimwalker, but she was basically a scared child. Must protect Vee she is so cute

We got an accidental changeling situation I suppose, but y’know, a basilisk

That being said, with Vee being completely ruled out as a Grimwalker, this plus some info we get during the episode very much 100% confirms Hunter as a Grimwalker in my eyes. Oof, this’ll be rough buddy

So the reveal of there being TWO humans, two BROTHERS who went to the BI is a big deal. One of them is Philip, who I am now more convinced is Belos (I preferred the idea of him being a descendant) and the other one is... Hunter? yeah the uncle thing may be making much more sense now, if he is trying to clone his dead brother omg

People pointing out the little cardinal on one of the brothers’ shoulders had me SHOOK

This is baseless but I wonder if that witch they met was a Clawthorne. that’d be pretty cool huh

And will we get any parallels between these brothers and the Clawthorne sisters? there’s a chance at least

Also basilisks were extinct and Belos BROUGHT THEM BACK? I never would’ve expected this of all creatures to come back and be so relevant. I mean, we saw them shapeshifting and eating magic how did no one think of this. Interesting that they wanted to study the eating magic thing, this how you ended up chomping on palismen, Belos?

Camila is such a sweet, understanding mom. you can tell she loves Luz’s weird and creative side but just wanted to help her fit in better. which judging from Vee interacting with other kids from camp, it may have helped!

Speaking of which, it makes sense a bunch of weird kids would be sent to such a camp, I’m glad to see they were nice to her. Luz clearly hasn’t had a good experience with kids her age on earth

Also she’s a vet! love it

Surprised Luz’s texts weren’t shown or mentioned, maybe they’ll go through later and she can look at them with more time, especially the videos

That scene at the end was truly heartbreaking. we know that the one thing that Luz really misses from the human realm is her mother, she’s so important to her! I now kinda want Camila to find herself in the Boiling Isles to see how Luz is thriving there, to see the connections and the growth and how happy she is there. I hope they get to talk

Eda may or may not be Stan Pines’ ex wife and I find that hilarious

Jacob is a flat earther with a youtube channel. I thought he may be a one episode character BUT HE HAS A FULLY CHARGED TRAINING WAND? where did you get that??? have you not used it at all or do you know how to charge it? it was too deliberate, I know it was on that table for a reason

I’m guessing we’ll se a bit more of Camila with Vee from now on, now that she’s in the loop. And they may need to get some info from him at some point, maybe after Luz gets to some entry in the diary about the brother or something

Portalswap AU! HCs

Boiling, New York

- First off, not ALL the characters are swapped, just those at my discretion 

- In Boiling, King is a Boiling Isles demon, but disguised as a talking cat, Hooty is only known as the voice over the PA. There’s a lot of Boiling Isles stuff in Boiling (and there’s a reason for that, related to GF’s weirdness magnet).

- Edric actually works at the Owl House too, the only employee besides the Noceda twins (Child labor laws, more like child labor suggestions).

- Vee is still a changeling. She does not know. This will be a plot point.

- The Blights are more old money, and keep their surname. Most the rest of the characters have more human names, and some are just in the Boiling Isles...

- Philip Whittebane is the mayor, raising his “nephew from out of town” Hunter.

Witches in Frogland

- In Amphibia, the Pineblood twins don’t have their Palismans yet, but Dipper’s on the Potion track while Mabel’s a Beastmaster.

- They’re relatively nonplussed about Amphibia, it’s not too different from home, just less boiling rain. I’d call that an improvement!

- I’m still kinda thinking of punny frog names for the characters? Not sure about Wendy (Croakaroy?) but Soos Frogmirez is a go.

- There’s definitely people(toads? newts?) hunting down reports of actual magic & ‘pink skinned monsters’

- Something something masked emperor Axolotl. Cipher’s in there somewhere.

- They were not the only Witches who ended up in Amphibia, like a certain Oracle student, or an abomination goo heiress...

Three Girls in the Boiling Isles

- I’m not designing the Coven heads, there might be some overlap with canon TOH characters, but I’m still thinking. Andrias Leviathan is still king, and he is not the first.

- I’m keeping most of the Amphibia names, Wartwood is actually an agricultural town, and most its population specializes in beast keeping or plant magic.

- Hopidiah Plantar is a Beast Master, as is Sprig, but he’s questioning taking up plant magic. The Plantar family itself is half demon and keeps the secret of Glyphs.

- Sasha ends up with the Demon Hunters, under the command of Construction Witch Grimes.

- Marcy ends up with the Emperor’s Coven, is taught Glyph Magic by the human Andrias, and is basically the Golden Guard.

- Wartwood is pretty far afield from the capital, so Anne has some adventure before heading there.

part six of stuff for the selkie!au

tearful disagreements end with tearful kisses (and goodbyes)

i’m experimenting with some new coloring styles with this one, i mostly just wanted to draw something that happens later in the story because i wrote it a while ago and it’s been bouncing around my brain like a ping pong ball. i should also mention that hunter looks more fae in this because the potion is losing its effectiveness at this point in the fic.
