So I really like the direction they're taking Alastor's character in.
Of course there's the part where they confirm that he is owned by someone and he has this really visceral mental breakdown and that makes him sympathetic.
But also in the 7th ep he ends up making a deal with Charlie where she owes him a favor, which as of now doesn't seem that big of a deal or dangerous to Charlie, and immediately after that his demeanor changes quite a bit. He's genuinely nice and helpful to Charlie the whole rest of this and the next ep.
(like holy shit there's so much of it)
He also introduces her to Rosie who's exactly who Charlie needed in terms of helping her defend the hotel and giving her relationship advice.
We get to see Alastor's wholesome relationship with Rosie and hear her saying "Alastor has never done me wrong before" and we know she deals with him a lot. I wonder if that means
1) he's at the hotel to find a way to free himself and is very desperate about it and so he calms down a bit and becomes less hostile once he feels safer about his situation. That Charlie WILL help him once he needs it.
or 2) deals are in general a way in which he knows how to form relationships with ppl and so Rosie (and now Charlie) going along with it is what allows him to feel more secure/in control, let his guard down and genuinely bond with them.
I like the fact that Alastor admitted that he was starting to get a little attached to the hotel. And also that he trusts Charlie enough for her to hold his cane which is obviously very very important to him ! I know Alastor has plans and manipulates everyone, but that doesn't stop him from developing a form of attachment to them all, including Charlie obviously. Looking forward to seeing where this takes him.
But what if Charlie gets sick and all she wants is her two dads sitting beside her to make her feel better??? And so- despite their mutual loathing, Alastor and Lucifer put aside their bickering to comfort their girl, one sitting on either side of her on the couch as she curls up under a mounting of blankets, Vaggie sitting on the floor in front of her, her head leaning back onto Charlie’s lap.
Meanwhile Charlie leans her head on Lucifer’s shoulder, while Alastor gently pets her hair. Her love language is physical touch, and there’s nothing quite as soothing for a fever than a healthy dose of love.
charlie: *Turns on the kitchen light*
alastor: *Sitting at the table, eating bread*
charlie: It’s four in the morning.
alastor: Turn the light back off.
He would just grab and hold her like an armadillo vs a pink rubber pig if anyone looked at her threateningly and Alastor doesn't like the implication that this means anything.
So I watched episode 5 and 6, and well considering how psycho and self-righteous Adam is and how much Alastor and Charlie care about each other yet not romantically, I can’t help but expect a climax like this in the future
