My silly Billy's got colored with markers and cut out

I got them framed in and I'm leaving it to future me tto come up with a fun backgrroynd for them

I can't make a tradititonal art post eithout stupidly zoomed in pictures it's so fun

happy kairi day! Sorry, no video this year I've been sick and while I started on a video I didn't like how it was looking so I'm taking a break from working on it. In looking at Kairi's character there are a ton of subtle things to notice and it honestly makes her an intense character compared to some of the others because while it may not be said outright it can be said through expressions and even context clues. I noticed that I have gained a better appreciation for not just other female characters but other characters in general. I really like looking at the context and seeing how it changes the character from what I saw before not to mention with Kairi specifically seeing her emotional strength has helped me get through some of the most difficult times in my life. I hope others also see her as an inspiration for them as well in terms of how they can get through difficult times.

How things are progressing in broken wrist land:

I broke my wrist so hard that I need surgery, which is scheduled for Tuesday. I went out today and picked up a couple of puzzle books from Walmart and a color-your-own-stickers book, a box of crayons, and a pack of alcohol markers from Five Below. Because I am going to need things I can do one-handed since there's only so much TV I can watch and I will eventually need the charge my Kindle. (Because I can't hold books one-handed, either.)

Mont Marte Alcohol Based Markers Review 

Before we begin.... yes, it's true. I have a VERY hard time reading cursive. It's just one of those things. Also fun fact, as you might have guessed, my handwriting sucks! Now, about these markers... While nothing super, fantastic, and extraordinary.... they weren't half bad either. Besides, I can never get enough of bright, fun colors! However, I enjoyed using them and will keep an eye out for a bigger set.

(Miniature) couch restoration

I found this couch ( with a bunch of other things I didn't care about) for 2$ at a second hand store

Finding dollhouse miniatures is kind of rare around here so I grabbed it, I thought at worst it would be a cheap MDF off of AliExpress or something and I could repaint it, but once I scraped a bit of the paint off I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice wood finish!

There was at least 3 to 4 layers of paint through (⁠‘⁠◉⁠⌓⁠◉⁠’⁠) (white, gray, maybe white again and finally pink)

Out of curiosity I pried up the fabric which was obviously not the original, to find another unoriginal fabric and pried that up too and that was still not the original 🤣 matroshka doll of upholstery

After huffing 99% alcohol and paint brush cleaner for probably 5 or so hours I ended up with this

I left the back and seat of the couch rough as it would be covered in fabric anyway, it looks like that maybe at some point this got sanded in a few spots? I fixed it up by finally using my furniture repair markers as intended (mostly I don't think they had mini furniture in mind)

You can see on the left half where I tried different colours to see what would match best

Now new upholstery! I only had the original couch cushion seat so I decided to just redo the whole thing in silk of corse (⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧

I wanted it to look a little worn so I picked this really textured blueish green/cream dupini silk

From barbie would be embarrassed to have this in her house to Victorian centerpiece! Or well I would like to think so ;;;

And I just got one of the last two boxes I need to complete a collection. #(these were not expensive because I find them at Tuesday Morning and such.) #and they categorize their colors by group. #and this specific line of that marker is the 'hint of' series #which is the lightest version of each category of color in their lineup. #So I - a woman nearing 30 - just went down the list of categories #crossed out the ones I already had #and wrote down which I'm still waiting for tomorrow when my other box arrives. #(still cheap.) #... and concluded that they don't actually make a 'lightest' marker for three categories of color #(burnt orange/tan/ice gray) #the last one I get. #but why did I do that. #I'm only typing this to process it. It took me a while.
