I actually don't think a gay Israeli being racist (by holding up a Pride flag in front of bombed-out ruins in Gaza) is more homophobic than wanting to exterminate gay people, or even talking about corrective rape of lesbians. This may make me an "eternal enemy of queer liberation", but I think if "queer liberation" involves downplaying exterminationist beliefs about queer people in favor of freaking out because a gay man who's structurally on the top of a racial hierarchy is horribly racist, then "queer liberation" involves willfully shutting down your brain and thinking with your stomach, and to hell with it.

In fact, everyone on this website is fully able to declare that white LGBT people are shitty and oppressors without saying that when they're shitty and oppressive it's worse than gaybashings.

listen so like. how i write danny, how i aim to write his ass, is very hey i grew up in a turbulent home life and for a time in my early to mid teens i was constantly getting into trouble, mixed with the wrong crowd besides my friendship with maria, ive been briefly in juvie-like facilities, all that shit.

hes dealt with having a shit ton of fighting - no bars held, no rules, no morals attached to them. simply do what you need to to be able to walk away from it alive at times. i like to think of his fight style being very.... j.oel / t.ommy / ellie t.lou style, very opportunistic and resourceful, very ill make use of any and every single thing around me to make sure i get your ass on the ground and you dont get back up - whether thats grabbing an object to use, or cracking your face into it til youre unrecognizable.

its worse when i think of the verses where marias either obvs dead or seriously hurt by the time the friend group finds her, because all danny's seeing is fucking red from that point on.

me nodding at all this, at knowing how quick dannys switch is to go from protecting the friends to i will kill for you if need be,
