Ah yes art of Frenchmen with an italian title and a Latin quote added onto it. I somehow made this in a fit of mania.

Pieta is one of my favorite works of biblical art. It means pity.

The Latin phrase is “acta est fabula, plaudite” which is “The play is over, applaud.”

The discussion topic of the day is what elements the Seed family would bend in an Avatar!alternate universe

Going by their color scheme/vibes alone, I feel like everyone’s gut instinct would be to say:

Joseph - Air

John - Water

Jacob - Fire

Faith - Earth

However, these alignments are my personal opinions based off of my own headcanons and perceptions (in regards to both franchise’s content):

I don’t have the spoons to go in depth on why I chose these right now (it’s 5am and I’m running on hope, dreams, and 75mg of caffeine), however I’d love to hear your own opinions. i know i've posted before about how against the idea of women (because marvel's full of cowards and doesn't want to have that conversation) telepaths being romantically/sexually attracted to scott summers i have been.

and while I know the actual intent behind this pattern on marvel's end and still disagree with that for obvious reasons, ...

In a vacuum? It makes sense.

Most xmen characters express what they're about on the surface, and there aren't too many layers hidden underneath. I can imagine telepaths in the world of marvel getting quickly bored by the people in that world not having anything more to offer than what's out front. Then you have a character like scott, who is designed to be deeply introspective anti-surface-read. A character the audience only gets the full picture of (/learns to appreciate) if the medium allows that glimpse into what's going on below the carefully controlled outer shell. That must be fascinating for a telepath (especially in marvel where you don't have many characters strictly adhering to this design). Not only that, it would take a telepath, or someone who is privy to what's going on below the surface (like, a non-telepath who is trusted enough for scott to open up to) to appreciate the full breadth of this character. So of COURSE the ones who react positively to the idea of scott summers would be those who know there's a lot of unseen shit going on there. It makes sense.

This was actually so insanely fun??? I wasn't sure how modern u were doing for so I dragged him back to Ancient Greek vibes, but here's your Hypnos!Classic because he just vibes so well!!! (As far as I know you didn't already have designs for these guys, so I just winged it 😅)

I ended up giving him Wings instead of a hood because I noticed a lot of symbols of Hypnos have wings coming from his back/ears and I thought it'd be fun if they were around his neck/shoulders lol. I also tried to keep him recognizable, but give him a few gold accents (<- because I love drawing Gold) and use his Blue/Yellow motif across his design? And of course the mist is just kinda smth I picked up from other versions of Hypnos I've seen lol-

WHOOOO OKAY. This is one I am EXTREMELY excited about because old Hollywood musicals of the 1930s - 1940s was my very first hyperfixation and I've been itching for a way to somehow incorporate that into an OFMD fic and I think I finally landed on it!

Context: one thing I always found fascinating about musicals of that time period is that they were deliberately crafted to be an escape, because the movies were some of the few luxuries people could afford. The Great Depression was devastating families, but when you watch the musicals, you just saw glittering nightclubs and tuxedos and evening gowns. For 35 cents you could step away from all your struggles and watch simple problems get solved in 90 minutes all while singing and dancing and laughing.

SO this story would feature Ed as a Broadway legend known primarily for dancing, who injures his knee when a piece of stage equipment malfunctions and is really depressed over his career as he knows it likely being over. He's just camping out in his apartment and decides to visit a video rental shop that's going out of business and finds a bunch of old musicals featuring Stede Bonnet. He ends up getting really sucked into them, and then eventually Stede...somehow ends up able to talk to him through the TV? Eventually Ed realizes he's literally able to step into the TV and into Stede's black and white glamorous world, and it's everything he could want. His knee doesn't hurt there, he's falling in love with Stede, he doesn't have to think about what he's going to do next with his career.

Except of course you can't escape your life forever, and Stede doesn't want Ed to just live in this artificial world with him. So the fic explores Ed trying to figure out the real Stede Bonnet's story, and how they can exist in the real world together as a couple, and Ed coming to grips with his injury. And all the while it gives me opportunity to write some star-crossed lovers and play in a black and white world and deliver some bittersweet angst with a happy ending. 💕
