w that being said ….. i shall yap >:3 HONESTLY THOUGHH i think stsg are very similar when it comes to this concept!!! in the sense that. i think they’ll comfort you first and foremost, then deal w your cheater ex later. i could see satoru being in Actual Disbelief? like?? he almost almost asks if you’re joking. but you’re crying so?? obviously you’re not????? but the idea that anyone would cheat on you genuinely makes him Flabbergasted. he wants to laugh. he doesn’t but he wants to. he hates seeing you sad. he’s almost offended.

it’s just a mess of emotion n lots and LOTS of hate aimed toward your ex 😭😭 he’s like. no fucking way that loser cheated on you???? it’s obvious that he’s rlly pissed but i think he has enough control over his emotions that it sounds like he’s just making jokes to cheer you up. and he IS but he also feels so????? genuinely angry?????? and he doesn’t know how to deal w that. he’s worried abt comforting you too…… i don’t think satoru sees himself as someone who’s good at comforting others At All but he actually kinda is. he’ll hug you tightly and sit down on the couch w you in his lap. and he stays quiet until you’ve calmed down. then he starts a very passionate, hateful rant abt your ex in hopes of making you laugh/calming himself down…… and if he manages to pull a lil smile out of you he just goes 🥺 . you’re his baby. he doesn’t really know how to treat you when you get this fragile but it also makes him feel so complete somehow. this man lives for cheering you up.

ANYWAYYYY satoru will then do the same thing as sugu would <333 which is <33333 to confront your ex. tbh i think suguru is more likely to get violent than he is LMAO but i doubt either of them would (unless your ex said something Awful abt you in front of them in which case… good luck bud)…. he just wants to make it Very Clear that your ex has no business being in your life anymore. he’s very firm and very scary. if your ex tries to start something he will laugh in their face. might also subtly declare himself as your boyfriend…. not explicitly bc. he’s Not your bf. but i think he makes sure your ex understands that he loves you + he’s better than them + they can forget abt crawling back to you once they realize the mistake they’ve made.

and when it comes to stsg together……. i think. the only difference is that one of them will stay to soothe you while the other one instantly goes to confront your ex 😭😭 they’re saving time!!! and let’s be honest, suguru will be the one staying behind. the caretaker of all time. (even tho he really really wants to tell your ex off himself… but that can wait for now). so satoru runs off, suguru makes sure you get the tears out, and then satoru comes back w a bunch of your favorite treats :3 they’re sweetiepies.

i also feel like they’d have a talk together once you’re asleep… likeee maybe you’re all sleeping in the same room bc you’re still very very upset and in need of comfort :((((( and as soon as you start to snooze they talk…… abt you……. and abt how soon they should start hinting to you abt their Own feelings. satoru would want to do so immediately, bc he can’t Stand the idea of you being hung up on your ex while they love you so fervently, but suguru would convince him to be patient. he doesn’t want them to end up rushing you in any way…. but deep down he also wants you to know how loved you are by them. sniffle.

Loving Chan was the easiest thing you've ever done in your life. In the nine months you've been together, you quickly got accustomed to him. To his presence, to his words, to his smiles, to his touches. Sometimes, you couldn't remember what life was like before him.

You liked to imagine that you'd be together for the rest of your lives, that you'd spend every waking moment with him. It has never crossed your mind that there was a possibility he'd leave, or that worse, you'd end up leaving him.

But here you were, sitting on the edge of your empty bed, your phone tightly clutched in your hand. You've just received the job offer of a lifetime, an opportunity you've been fighting, working, and dreaming of since you graduated. The only problem is that it was on the other side of the world. You'd have to leave behind the comfort of your current life, and home- Chan.

You allowed yourself a couple of seconds of bliss, where you imagined you'd get both the job and Chan. But as much as you didn't want to, you had to face the cruel reality. Your relationship wouldn't survive if you left.

You barely saw him as it is and it would be too hard to maintain a healthy long-distance relationship. It would require too much effort, something you both can't put on because of your jobs. Loving each other would become tiring, the love would turn to resentment, then hate. You couldn't allow that.

And you were in love with Chan, you adored him with every fiber of your soul. But you knew that if you stayed the 'what ifs' would haunt you. How far would you have made it? Would you have been happier had you left? You'd lash out at him and it wasn't fair, not to him, not to you.

The sound of the door opening snaps you out of your haze- it was Chan coming back from his studio. You quickly stand up, wiping away the tears that have managed to escape from your eyes. You plaster a fake smile on your face, heading out of the bedroom to meet him.

"Hi darling," Chan greets you as soon as he sees you, opening his arms wide for you to hug him. You skip towards him and sink into his touch -as if he was the sun and you've been in the cold for too long.

You've always found Chan's hugs healing, there was something about the way he wrapped his arms around you that made you feel so safe, so comforted; as if your bodies were made solely to get lost in each other. But tonight, his hug had the opposing effect, tonight it felt like the calm before the storm. The beginning of the end.

Sometime later, Chan joins you in bed after eating his dinner. He brings your body to his and you snuggle closer to him. "Honey?" he calls out in a soft voice and you hum in reply. "Are you okay? You've been quiet tonight," he asks you as his hand slowly skims up and down your arm.

You thought he didn't notice but of course he did, he has always been very attentive to you.

"Just tired," you whisper, placing a soft kiss on his bare chest.

"There is something more," he points out, leaning away to look at you properly. Your eyes well up with tears under his watchful gaze. You loved his eyes so much. "Hey, hey, don't cry baby," he shushes, his thumb gently wiping away your tears. "You'll talk to me about it when you are ready, yeah?" he coos at you, using the gentle tone he only reserved for times like these.

"Alright," you whisper back, pulling him closer to your body once again.

"You don't need to hide from me, yn. I know you like the back of my hand."

You've always found the expression "knowing someone like the back of your hand" funny. It entailed that human beings remain unchanged over the years, just like the lines stretching on our palms do.

You felt that humans were more like seasons. We know that there is an autumn, followed by a winter, a spring and finally a summer. But seasons surprise us each time they visit, and sometimes you can no longer recognize the one you are in; just like you no longer recognize yourself at some points in your life.

And tonight, Chan saw you as an eternal summer, warm and loving. But you were an ending autumn, slipping between his fingers and morphing into a cold and lonely winter. He just didn't know it yet.

You haven't slept for the past three days.

You stayed awake each night watching Chan; engraving each one of his features into your memory. He looked so peaceful sleeping in your arms, mumbling your name every now and then. He trusted you with his heart, you realized, and you were about to break it in half.

They always talk about leaving someone that had hurt you, the cruel words spitted out, the pretty vases shattered, the angry tears spilled. Chaotic breakups, a perfect end for a horrible relationship. But what about breaking up with someone you still love? How do you let go of someone who has been nothing but kind to you?

You knew that no matter how much you didn't want to, your final conversation with Chan would be a painful one. But you didn't want him to remember you that way, you wanted to leave him with a fond memory, a token of the love you both held for each other.

So, when there are only two days left until you have to give your final reply, you decide to spend one last memorable day with him.

It starts off with the breakfast you cooked for him. You brought it to him to bed and he gave you such a dazzling smile, you almost dropped the plate you were holding. You then drove to that one arcade he's been raving about, and he seemed so carefree there, you felt bile rise in your throat at the thought of what was to come.

Throughout the day, you tried your best to forget. As you ordered his favorite food, played his favorite music, fixed his jacket, fed him ice cream, and held his hand. You tried to forget that it was the last time you'd get to do it, the last time you'd get to love him.

Your final destination was the beach, Chan's favorite place before he met you. You never thought that one day, there would be an 'after you'.

You were now sitting on the sand, your back leaning on Chan's chest while you watched the sun cast down. "You know, I want to spend the rest of my sunsets with you", he whispers in your ear, placing a soft kiss on your shoulder blade. You remain silent, you couldn't tell him that this sunset was your last.

"I love you", you finally reply and he hugs you tighter to him, "I love you too."

"No, Chan. Listen, I love you. I love you so much. Whatever the future brings, don't forget it, please", you turn around, holding his hands tightly in your sweaty ones. Chan's eyebrows furrow when he looks at you, you've never been this desperate for a promise. "Promise me. Promise me you won't forget it. You won't forget that I love you", you beg, your breathing labored now.

He grabs your face between his hands, anchoring you back to him. "What is going on yn? What's wrong?" he asks.

"Just promise me, please. Just this one thing."

"I promise yn, I promise baby. Just calm down, I'm here", he reassures, burying your head in the crook of his neck. Your silent tears dampen his t-shirt and he can feel his worry deepen. He suddenly had a very bad feeling.

"Baby, talk to me, please. You've been distant these past few days, and now out of the blue we go out and so happen to do all of my favorite things... What's going on? You're scaring me."

This is it then, the point of no return.

"I... I got a job offer. The one I've been dreaming about", you start off, there was no use in hiding it any further.

"That's amazing baby, I'm so proud of you! We have to celebrate and tell-", he excitedly rambles and you cut him off, "No. No... Listen to me. It's... it's on the other side of the world."

"Oh...", his joy fizzles out as realization dawns on him; the pieces of the puzzle suddenly falling into place.

He can see it too now, the countdown, the beginning of the end.

"Is this why you've brought me here today? Spending all this time with me only to...", he scoffs incredulously, "only to leave me afterward?"

"I didn't know how to tell you and I- I wanted us to have a final memory together", you explain, your hands reaching out toward him. He steps back as if your touch had burned him.

"Did it ever occur to you that if you left me after this it would hurt me even more?!", he shouts, standing up and pacing furiously in front of you. "You just gave me a taste of what the rest of our lives could have been like and now you're leaving?!"

"I didn't mean to hurt you, Chan, I- I'm so sorry. You have to believe me, please. It wasn't my intention!" you cry out. You never wanted it to end like this.

Chan takes a deep breath, running his hand through his hair angrily. He doesn't look at you as he mutters a cold "let's go home."

The car ride back is tense, you don't know what to say, not when he's this angry, not when he's driving. When you arrive, he stares off into the distance, his jaw clenching every two seconds. "Go without me. I need time to myself," he tells you.

You oblige, understanding where he's coming from. As soon as you close the door of the car he drives off, leaving you standing all alone on the sidewalk.

You are curled around yourself in a ball, the pillow beneath you is wet from your unstopping stream of tears. It's been a few hours since Chan has left; few hours less in the time you have left together.

The front door opens and you shut your eyes closed. You remain as still as possible when Chan enters your bedroom and lays right next to you. "I know you're awake yn", he whispers and you open your eyes, turning around to look at him in the dim light.

"Did you eat? I left you dinner in the kitchen", you say in a quiet voice and he nods faintly. "I saw. Thank you."

The mere centimeters between your bodies stretch farther and farther, turning into a vast ocean you can't seemingly cross. Chan can clearly feel it now- he's lost a war he never wanted to partake in.

"I will miss your dinners and the notes you wrote with them. I've kept all of them in a-", his voice cracks, "in a box under the bed."

"I know", you whisper, voice hoarse. "I saw it one day when I was cleaning. You even kept the flower I gave you on our first date," you choke out and he smiles sadly.

"I wanted to show them to our kids one day."

His words linger in the air, suffocating you. You can no longer hold it within- the sobs begging to come out, "I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry", you cry and he pulls you to him instantly.

"I know", he pats your head down and you cry harder.

"I never- I never wanted to hurt you. I swear, I swear."

"I know. I know, honey."

"And I love you, and I'm sorry- I'm sorry that it's not enough to make me stay."

"It's okay, I'm not mad at you, don't apologize."

You pull away, leaning in forward to kiss him goodbye. Your salty tears mingle with his, and you pour it all out in this kiss- your love, your pain, your remorse. You can feel his desperation as his lips meet yours for the last time, a part of him wanting to scream at you that you could have this for the rest of your life. That you could still make it work. But he doesn't. Instead, he settles on meeting your lips in a heart wrenching kiss, trying his hardest to make it last; as if he could live off the feeling you give him alone.

When you finally pull away, you gently wipe his tears away with the sleeve of your hoodie and he does the same. "Let's just act as if nothing's happening. Sleep as usual, yeah?" he says as he nuzzles his nose with yours softly.

"Will you be here when I wake up?"

"I will". He won't. "Good night darling, I love you."

"Good night, Channie. I love you more."

The sun streaming through your curtains wakes you up. You pat the spot beside you only to find it cold and empty, save for a letter carefully placed on the bed. You quickly open it, hot tears already blurring your vision.

"My love,

You wanted to give me a memory to remember you by, and you did. It wasn't our time at the beach, I'm afraid. It was you fast asleep in my arms last night. Those are the moments I fell in love with you in, quiet peaceful times where I could simply exist and admire you. I used to hate the fact that I couldn't sleep but I no longer minded it with you, it meant I could stare at you as much as I wanted. I suppose I'd have to find something else to do now.

My love, those past months with you have been the happiest of my life. And I see you everywhere now, I see you in the stars and sunsets, I see you in pretty gardens and in all the places we went to together. Loving you has been healing, loving you has been soft, loving you has been peaceful. And I wouldn't lie to you; I was ready to beg you to stay. It scared me to think of a world where I wouldn't be with you anymore.

But I realized I couldn't ask that of you, it was that passion you held within you that made me admire you in the first place. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you dimmed your fire just for me. So, wherever you go, I hope you shine brightly, my beautiful star. I hope you are fulfilled and I hope that waking up every day feels like a gift to you.

I suppose that no matter how much I wanted to, we weren't meant to be in this lifetime. But I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I'd go through the pain of losing you if it meant I'd get to love you at some point in my life.

You've told me yesterday that you loved me, but it wasn't enough for you to stay. So don't worry, my yn, I love you and it's enough for me to let you go.

would try his best to be normal but HIS ROOMMATES WON’T LET HIM LIVE FJFJAJDK. a lot of people write him as a charismatic girlboss, and i completely understand why, but idk s.coups kinda gives me shy-aroudn-his-crush vibes? to be fair though, his roomies are partially to blame….every time joshua and jeonghan bring you over, jeonghan always calls out “oh seungcheol……..y/n is here!!!!!” you’re kind of like ??? why are you announcing my arrival like that bro?? and joshua snickers as he sees seungcheol poke his head out of his room and greets you with a small smile, his dimples showing on the side of his face you can clearly see peeking out from the door frame. i think he’d definitely get blushy whenever you talk to him, especially when he can see his roomies looking at the two of you interact as well. has trouble making eye contact with you for both those reasons (which you think is cute!!), but refuses to not at least say hello. jeonghan just LIVES for putting cheol on the spot because it’s funny to him lmao. “doesn’t y/nnie looks cute today?” and seungcheol is like WHY. WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS and joshua is texting the groupchat about it IN FRONT OF YOU AND CHEOL with a giddy smile on his face LMAO. as far as interacting with you, i think because his roomies are so embarrassing and because he thinks you’re so cute, he wouldn’t be able to bear doing much besides saying hello every time you’re around. i think he’d be able to muster up the courage to ask you out if he was alone with you at some point. i think he’d be able to feel more comfy being himself if hannie and shua weren’t around to poke fun at him lmao. both of you should expect some teasing from them though!!!

Obviously he’s a menace. flirts with you a little, partly to piss off joshua LOL (“bro stop flirting with my friend it’s WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!). always pays you a compliment whenever he sees you, saying that you look cute today (today = every time you’re in his vicinity lol). will always take your side in any playful argument you have w/ josh. joshua is always like >___> why!!!!! but jeonghan does it anyway; your flustered face when he sends compliments your way is just so adorable that he can’t help himself. i don’t think he’d bother you guys too much besides that, keeping his boundaries for the most part, but he’d definitely throw the occasional wink your way to embarrass you (which works). would ask to come if you guys were going out to eat, complaining that joshua never eats with him and that he wants to sit next to you because you’re way nicer than joshua. (rip to shua having to watch all this happen in front of his poor eyes). i think jeonghan is shameless and would just ask you out when he feels like it, even if it was in front of his friends.

LOL ok joshua gives me the energy of someone who would try to be cool/funny around his crush DFSjjdskf. like he would sooo go out of his way to tell some sort of funny joke around you whenever you’re over, either to you or cheol/jeonghan (they both think it’s cringe but they respect the attempt being made so they don’t say anything). more often than not, josh doesn’t get the reaction he hopes for (i mean, bursting out laughing at every single joke he makes is pretty unrealistic….) but he considers it a win every time you so much as smile even a little. he’s the type to make small-to-medium converversation with you until you start talking to him more, and he’s really good at making you feel welcome in their apartment! always offers you water or a blanket when you look stressed from finals lmao. would probably not bother you and jeonghan that much besides that. jeonghan thinks it’s hilarious that joshua keeps trying to win you over with his dumb jokes but he keeps the teasing to a minimum in front of you out of appreciation for josh :) i think joshua is definitely someone who’d be straightforward if he was interested in you – after holding some conversations with you and talking to jeonghan about it, i think joshua is someone that would definitely try to ask you out to eat, just the two of you!!! provided that you say yes, he’d definitely go all out and NOT let you guys waste your night in his dinky apartment. after all, he is a gentleman :)

Unironically i think wonwoo would be the most normal about liking mingyu’s friend lol. every time you come over, he just says hello and asks how you’re doing, casually trying to get to know you. if you and mingyu (and sometimes cheol and vernon) watch a movie in the living room, more often than not wonwoo joins with you guys because he’s “bored” and “has nothing else to do”...but really he just wants to hang with you. i think he’d be really sweet about liking you!! if you mention something (like a drink or snack or something) that you like, he’d definitely get it for you the next time he stumbles upon it at the grocery store. he smiles to himself every time (including in the grocery store) he thinks of you – which, as you start to come around more, is becoming more frequent. mingyu doesn’t actually realize that wonu likes you, but the latter eventually caves in and admits it to his friend. mingyu encourages him to go after you!!! so one night, after a considerable amount of contemplation, wonwoo decides to take the plunge and he calls you. “hey – would you want to get coffee with me next week?”

my bias wrecker <3 lmao jihoonie strikes me as the nervous type. i feel like he’d be slightly annoyed that he can’t relax at home because you’re always there hanging out with soonyoung. he’d leave his room to get coffee and see you sitting on the couch studying with soonie and think like “god damnit WHY ARE THEY HERE!!!! this man is a bumbling idiot who’s whipped for you LMAO!! you’re friends with wonu – you guys are in the same major, so you often do hw together, study or just hang out and watch movies together. mingyu is always around when you’re over at the apartment, he kind of follows you around like a golden retriever lol. lowkey overstays his welcome HAHAHA; he doesn’t really leave you or wonwoo alone ljdjkfjasdk. wonwoo is kinda like “??? what are you doing ???” when mingyu emerges from his room with his own study materials and plops down on the living room floor next to you. mingyu replies “studying. obviously.” very casually as he looks up at his friend from where you’re both sitting on the floor. wonu is confused as to why mingyu wants to study with you two, but once the older boy realizes that his friend likes you, it’s hard to actually be annoyed with him about it. mingyu always shoots smiles your way and subtly touches your arm when talking to you; he always takes the seat next to you if it’s vacant. wonwoo is lowkey grossed out watching his best friend be such a huge simp, but mingyu does not! care! you are cute and he’s going to spend time with you, deal w/ it wonu!!! would definitely ask you to hang out alone at some point, but not before running it by wonwoo. i think mingyu would be very clear with his intentions from the beginning, which is why he’d want to spend time with you whenever you’re over. his eyes are shining with affection when he asks if you want to go for a walk in the park with him (wonu is asleep peacefully on the floor, you both put a blanket on him LMAOO); will you go with him?

honestly speaking, the lore of my ship w satoru changes w the seasons 🤭🤭 but acc to the information i hv as of summer 2024, i'm the one who fell first. and 'toru is the one who fell harder. i fell for him a very long time ago— back when i was in my mid teens and he was in his early twenties. but nothing romantic happened then– wtv hints i gave him either went over his head or he intentionally side-stepped them. and i js stopped giving him hints after one or two failed attempts, js staying happy with staring at him from afar, or yk, relishing wtv moments i used to get him as being one of his acquaintances... [he used to see me as a 'friend'. i nvr thought he cld see me as a 'friend', haha] but yk, when we grew up, i crossed quite some distance into my twenties and he too entered his late twenties— this is when the tectonic plates of our relationship slowly started shifting. i cld feel it, but i did not want to hope once again js to get heart-broken a second time— satoru, however, felt the shift like an earthquake. it's like, one moment he was thinking of me like he wld think of a friend, but then smthng happened, and he was like, "oh. this isn't how i think of shoko or nanami. oh. oh."— and well, let's js say, satoru was not rly in the mood for dating... he was more like, "omggg, ily! i'll take care of u! i'll make sure u hv a happy life! why don't we get married engaged, hm?" [idk why] he married me 'cause he grew highkey intrigued by me. THE PHANTOMMMMMMM OF THE OPERA IS HEREEEEEEEE 🎶🎶🎶🎶 …. <- sugu doesn’t sing along to musicals + doesn’t rlly like them that much in general but i know in my heart and soul that he would hum this part quietly to himself . what can i say….. this is just a very classy musical that i think would appeal to him <3333 he’d read the book beforehand too. he’s a lil pretentious but it’s okay :3 he’s veryyyy picky abt what musical renditions he enjoys tho…….

toji - black friday

ANOTHER STARKID MUSICAL. this one is just…… soooo good and funny and also . tragic. one of the characters reminds me a lot of toji :’3 former veteran w a dead wife…. who struggles to show his son how much he cares…… and the theme of capitalism and money and how it corrupts ppl also feels in line w toji’s character!! but above all else this musical is abt. Family. and that’s more toji than anything!!! :((( this is another musical that i rlly recommend checking out, it’s set in the same universe as the guy who didn’t like musicals but like . an alternate timeline. it’s not my favorite in the series but the songs slap and it made me cry so <3333 yeah.

nobara - heathers

was lowkey considering six the musical for my beloved nobara (bc of the gorgeous women and catchy fun songs) but . i think heathers fits her more!!!! i just feel like she’d ADORE it…… i know she’s singing along at the top of her lungs too LMAO especially to dead girl walking <3333 it’s just such a fun badass musical and i think she’d be obsessed. she does NOT like jd tho god bless 🙏🙏
