Matthew Perry, best known for playing Chandler Bing in the hit TV sitcom Friends, has died at 54, according to reports.
Perry drowned at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, sources including a representative for the actor and law enforcement told NBC News. Other US outlets also reported Perry had died.
After small roles in Growing Pains, Beverly Hills 90210 and Dream On, Perry scored a role in NBC sitcom Friends in 1994. The comedy, about six friends living in New York City, quickly became a phenomenon, winning multiple Emmys and scoring record ratings.
Perry went on to play the sarcastic and neurotic Chandler in 10 seasons with the 2004 finale reaching over 52 million viewers in the US, making it the most watched TV episode of the 2000s.
“People come up to me every day and say, ‘Hey Chandler!’ I don’t respond to it,” he said in a 2014 interview. “If somebody says, ‘Hi Matthew, I love your work’, that’s one thing. But if somebody goes ‘Yo, Chandler’, I don’t like that. I’m tired of it. I’m not Chandler.”
Perry was born in Massachusetts in 1969 to an American father and a Canadian mother, who would later move her son to Ottawa to work as a press aide to Canadian prime minister Pierre Trudeau. In his bestselling 2022 memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry recalled acting up after his father abandoned his family to chase his own dreams of becoming an actor – including bullying a young Justin Trudeau. “I decided to end my argument with him when he was put in charge of an entire army,” he wrote.
At 15 Perry moved to Hollywood, with the hope of reconnecting with his father. It was there he began to enjoy acting, and was eventually spotted at a diner, “charming a bunch of young women”, by director William Richert, who left a note asking him to be in his next movie, A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon, alongside River Phoenix.
Perry was 24 when he started playing Chandler and was relatively unknown, just like his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer. In a 2019 interview, Friends creator David Crane said Chandler was the most difficult character to cast; actors Craig Bierko, Jon Cryer and Jon Favreau were also considered for the role.
“Marta [Kauffman, co-creator] and I were thinking Chandler is just poorly written,” added Crane. “Then Matthew came in and you went, ‘Oh, well, there you go. Done. Done. That’s the guy.’”
Perry was nominated for an Emmy award five times, including once for his Friends role and twice for his role as lawyer Joe Quincy on The West Wing.
During his tenure on Friends, Perry starred in films including Fools Rush In with Salma Hayek, Three to Tango with Neve Campbell and The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis. He also played small roles in Ally McBeal and Scrubs.
In a 2002 interview with the New York Times, he confessed: “I wanted to be famous so badly. You want the attention, you want the bucks, and you want the best seat in the restaurant. I didn’t think what the repercussions would be.”
Perry’s personal life was afflicted by addiction, starting in 1997 when he became addicted to pain medication after a jetski accident. He later claimed to not remember three years of his time on Friends and to spending over $9m on his fight to stay sober.
“I was taking 55 Vicodin a day, I weighed 128lbs, I was on Friends getting watched by 30 million people – and that’s why I can’t watch the show, because I was brutally thin,” he said. Perry later admitted he had suffered severe anxiety “every night” while filming the show and felt nothing when the show ended.
Once Friends ended in 2004, Perry’s next small-screen lead was in Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which was cancelled after one season. In 2009 he starred in hit comedy 17 Again alongside Zac Efron, and later guest-starred on both The Good Wife and The Good Fight.
Perry also led one season sitcom Go On and a remake of The Odd Couple which lasted for three seasons. In 2016 he wrote and starred in play The End of Longing which opened in the West End and later transferred to Broadway.
In 2019, he was put in a two-week coma when his colon exploded due to opiate abuse; he had 14 surgeries due to his opiate abuse. “At this point in my life, the words of gratitude pour out of me because I should be dead, and yet somehow I am not,” he wrote in last year’s Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, which was a hit with readers and critics. The Guardian’s Barbara Ellen called the memoir “harrowing and revealing about the juncture where extreme compound addiction collides with mega-celebrity”.
“You have to get famous to know that it’s not the answer. And nobody who is not famous will ever truly believe that,” Perry wrote.

SCREAM 6- 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
GHOSTFACE TAKES MANHATTAN!
Absolutely loved Scream 6.
The Core Four move from Woodsboro to New York City to go to college and ghostface isnt far behind them.
The opening was inventive and fresh. Samara Weaving was great. The moment ghostface took his mask off really shocked me. I thought maybe this was a stab movie or something. Then ghostface calls him and he becomes the victim. I didnt understand why until later in the film but really liked all this.
Also a great Friday the 13th 8 nod with that on the tv.
The New York setting was brilliant and a breath of fresh air. Absolutely love Woodsboro but was nice to mix it up. The scene in the convenience store was so cool. Ghostface with a shotgun! ❤️
Ghostface in general was really scary in this. Really vicious kills and a lot less clumsy than he usually is. Scream 6 had some really tense moments and chase sequences. The ladder kill was absolutely terrifying.
As for the characters....
Tumblr media
Just as Scream 2022 did. This film gives plenty of screen time to newer characters before introducing any of the legacy cast.
I think it really worked here and set up a lot for the film. Tara and Sams relationship was very well written. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega were both amazing. So happy to have them as the centre of these movies. Both very likable.
Chad and Mindy were great. Chads relationships with Tara was sweet and Scream 6 confirms Mindy is Randy (Meeks). Just as her uncle Randy used to do she is the horror buff who gets to to explain the updated rules. And does it very well. Although i think her haircut is probably the worst Scream haircut since Gale in Scream 3.
I was very happy they brought Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) back again through Sams thoughts. Love Sams conversations with him. Its hilarious that he is always trying to convince her to become a serial killer like him but he also watches out for her. Theyve found the perfect way to bring Billy back and should continue to do so for as long as Sam is around.
Now as for his boyfriend Stu, he was mentioned to be dead and then Mindy said:
"If you believe hes dead".
This is all i need to hear to continue holding out hope for him to still be alive and the next killer...
Other returning characters were Roger L Jackson as the iconic voice of ghostface.
Tumblr media
Courteney Cox returns as Gale Weathers. Despite saying she wouldnt write a book about the last movie she does anyway. This leads to one of the best moments of the film when Sam tries to punch Gale. Gale ducks it only to be punched moments later by Tara. Hilarious. Somehow this is also the first time she has talked to Ghostface on the phone. Her putting him on hold had me laughing. That whole scene was great, Gale is badass and put up a great fight. I was genuinely surprised she survived, i thought she was going to die for sure.
She is also now the only person to appear on screen in every Scream movie.
Neve Campbell declined to return over a salary dispute sadly. The film mentions Sidney, shes alive and well and has taken Mark and the kids somewhere safe.
I did miss seeing Sid as shes my favourite final girl ever, but the film was so good that the story didnt need her to work. Glad shes still alive though in that universe so we can bring her back. Pay Neve Campbell anything she wants she deserves it.
Also returning was Kirby (Hayden Panettiere). Everyones favourite character from Scream 4 was brought back from the dead and now works for the FBI. She took a special interest in the ghostface killings naturally and helps them solve the case. Great idea bringing her back. Shes a great legacy character, had good chemistry with the new gang and would love to see more of her.
As for the killers....
Tumblr media
Really liked their motive. Its Richies family. They explain they killed the film student wannabes at the start after they got everything they needed from them.
This is a great nod to the killers motives in Scream 2 which this film parallels in many ways. The most obvious of which being they go to college (the frats and sororities even have the same names as in Scream 2).
Richies family out for revenge is like Debbie Salt and the guys killed at the start are like Mickey.
Good stuff.
This is now the most killers ever to be in a Scream film which was interesting. Even if you dont count the guys at the start, three is a record.
The double knife clean from the dual ghostfaces was perfect. Out of the kids i much preffered Quinn. I thought Quinn was really great when we saw her earlier and i didnt see the twist coming that she was still alive. Her brother seemed completely boring to me during the film. Showed a lot more personality when he was revealed as a killer though to be fair. I thought Dermot Mulroney was good but the bit where he called and warned Sam about Kirby being the killer sadly was a dead give away. Its obviously not Kirby so therefore was him. I thought the three killers was really interesting. They all had brilliant deaths i thought. Love that Sam resists being a killer but when she does get to stab someone she stabs them 100 times.
Also loved the way this movie pays tribute to every previous Scream film and not just the original. Great to see underated killers like Roman Bridger get some props. The ghostface museum filled with all the previous killers costumes and other props was absolutely incredible.
Tumblr media
After seeing this on Wednesday for the first time i was annoyed to hear there is a post credits scene that i missed. Went back yesterday and rewatched it and stayed til the end.
Its a five second clip of Mindy saying:
"Not every film needs a post credits scene".
Now theres only one thing i had a problem with.
I didnt have an issue with no main characters dying. This is rare for a Scream film but you can do it every now and again as long as get some in the next sequel. With Dewey dead and Sidney unavailable, we are running fairly short of Legacy characters so im glad Gale and Kirby lived.
I love the Core Four so glad they all lived. But for gods sake you have to sell the stab wounds a bit more. Chad got stabbed like a million times, its fine for him to survive the film but make it seem believable, there is no way someone could live through that.
Mindy was even worse. Stabbed twice directly im the guts. So less than Chad, but not only did she survive but she was running around unphased 30 minutes later with the explanation that they gave her strong drugs? I absolutely loved the subway stabbing scene so will give it a pass. Very creepy and loved all the iconic horror costumes people had.
Tumblr media
Scream 6 has topped the box office with an opening weekend of 44million plus domestically making it the best debut for any Scream film ever. Its been getting rave reviews from fans and critics and currently stands at a 7.4 on imdb. With all that happening its all but guaranteed we will have another Scream movie on the way before long.
What a time to be alive.
Directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli Olpin.

New York, New Rules: Scream VI Review
Tumblr media
Pictured above is the “Scream VI” poster.

One year ago, Scream (2022) slashed its way into theaters, and it received critical acclaim while being a box office hit making $138.9 million at the box office. It was a beautiful tribute to series creator Wes Craven and as I said in my Scream (2022) review, I almost teared up. So, lets just cut to the chase and go straight into my spoiler free thoughts on this latest entry into the “Scream” franchise.
Scream VI is a 2023 slasher horror film directed by the Radio Silence team consisting of Matt-Bettinelli Olpin and Tyler Gillet. Scream VI is produced by Kevin Williamson, Courteney Cox, and Gary Barber. The cast involves Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Skeet Ulrich as Billy Loomis, and Roger Jackson as “The Voice”.
The Plot:
Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage.
Positives:
One positive I have about Scream VI was how sadistic Ghostface was, this version of Ghostface wanted to take out the characters by any means necessary. The thought of not knowing who the killer in a massive city such as New York is terrifying. The chase scenes were thrilling, the kills were brutal, and the dialogue Ghostface gets gave me chills.
Tumblr media
Pictured above is Ghostface with a shotgun in the already iconic bodega scene.

The second positive I have was how well the characters were done, each character was likeable, and they built up the suspense factor because you had no idea who lives or dies. I also appreciated how they subverted your expectations in this movie. I’m glad that the killer reveal wasn’t as obvious as other movies.
Tumblr media

The final positive I have about this movie was the performances of each cast member. Each character’s dialogue felt organic and natural. The characters were as I said likeable, and I felt so sad after a certain character died. The characters left a mark in their own way in my opinion.
Tumblr media

Negatives:
The only negative I can think of is that some scenes went by a little quick and I couldn’t process what was happening. Other than that, I think this might be one of the better horror movies to come out earlier this year (Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed them, but not as much as this). Well, I guess this is just a knit pick, I felt like some of the main characters were invincible regardless if they were stabbed multiple times.
My overall thoughts:
After watching Scream VI, I would like to see more of this world and hopefully we get a Scream VII after Hollywood sorts out whatever is going on. This movie delivered on its scares, thrills, and chills the “Scream” franchise is known for.

Scream 6 (2023)
"Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage."
Very few movies spawn a nearly 27 year long franchise. In 1996 Wes Craven brought us a fresh take on slasher movies, that was in itself a commentary on the slasher movie genre. It gave us the rules for slasher films and, in doing what it did, became a film that was a defining moment in cinema for an entire generation.
Subsequent Scream films expanded on the idea of Slasher films, explaining further rules for sequels and trilogies etc. As they did they almost began to descend into parodies. That's not to say they are bad films, far from it. This is one franchise where I can legitimately say I enjoy every film, simply more for some than others. Then we got Scream 5, and the directorial duties changed, from Wes Craven to the duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
This is where the films moved back from the parody precipice over which they were dangling. Yes, 5 and 6, are full of meta self-referential information. They would have to be as a continuation of such an iconic franchise. In this film that's a bit of a sticking point for me, but more on that later.
Moving the story out of small-town Woodsboro to the hustle and bustle of New York adds a whole new angle to the stalker story. The directors have given us a well done movie, with great set-pieces and some really well laid out sets and locations. Their choices work really well to give some truly claustrophobic moments, the obligatory jump scares and a satisfying level of violence, in a franchise which has been escalating every time.
As for the escalation: near the beginning of the film we see Sam and Tara attacked by Ghostface. Not in an alley, or an apartment, but in a small busy shop in the middle of the day. It's a moment of realisation for the audience that this time the bad guy is really not messing around. That scene was really well done.
The cast is great. You have the four survivors from Scream 5, as well as Gale Weathers, played as ever by Courteney Cox, who has been a staple throughout the series. While the whole cast is on point I want to focus on Melissa Barrera, as Sam Carpenter. Here she becomes the main character, and the focus point of the merciless Ghostface. Barrera's performance as a woman facing a seemingly insurmountable foe, as well as her own mental issues, who just wants to perfect her sister is awesome. She nails the cadences of Sam's emotional traumas and turmoils brilliantly. I may have to look through her back catalogue for other films, to get a full scope of her work.
I just want to come back to my earlier point of the meta self-realsation. I understand why it is a part of the film, and the series as a whole, but in this it just seemed a little more forced than usual. Honestly, it's the only major negative I have about the film, but it started grating on me really quickly. It may be because I felt like I knew all the rules they were talking about from my years of watching films like this, and other franchises, or something else...it's hard to nail down why...
Overall it's a really good film, and it's only that issue that stops it being the best Scream film for me personally, though it's a close race even with that. It's a film that I am going to go see in the cinema again, and that's always a good point for me. If you love the Scream franchise then you will love this. Is it open for another sequel? Honestly, I don't know at this point. I'm not sure how they could top it, but if another one is announced I won't be surprised. Though I suspect Scream 7 may topple off the parody precipice, landing squarely in the not so great pile. All that being said I'm giving it a well deserved 8/10, and I would recommend going to watch it on the big screen.

SCREAM VI (2023)
Starring Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Champion, Mason Gooding, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Hayden Panettiere, Courteney Cox, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra, Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, Henry Czerny, Thomas Cadrot, Andre Anthony, Max Laferriere, Frank Fiola, Skeet Ulrich and the voice of Roger L. Jackson.
Screenplay by  James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick.
Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett.
Distributed by Paramount Pictures. 123 minutes. Rated R.
Just a couple of years ago, the Scream franchise was pretty much dead in the water. The most recent film in the series, Scream IV, had been something of a disappointment when it was released in 2011. And even that film was a bit of a reboot of the series, coming 11 years after the original trilogy ended. (The first three films were released from 1996 to 2000.)
Now, suddenly, with the release of the second Scream movie in just about a year, apparently they are all in with the series again. It’s up to debate as to whether the series was that in need of another reboot after all this time (let’s face it, only the original 1996 film was truly special), but Scream VI does what it can to make the old formula palatable for a new generation.
In the horror franchise parlance, this film would be the Ghostface Takes Manhattan chapter of the saga, where the kids from the small town move to the big city, only to find the violence they are trying to leave behind has relocated as well. (Although the story is supposed to take place in New York City, Scream VI was actually filmed in Montreal, a difference which is somewhat noticeable throughout.)
As with most of the previous films, Scream VI is a mix of old and new characters. Although the production made the gossip columns last year when original Scream star Neve Campbell refused to appear in the new film (apparently, she was not offered enough money to make it worth her while), there are a few character returns from the older films to mix in with the new blood… so to speak.
Courteney Cox – who is the only actor who has actually been in all six of the Scream films – returns in the role of Gale Weathers. Hayden Panettiere also returns in the role of Scream IV survivor Kirby Reid, who is now an FBI agent on the trail of the latest Ghostface killers. Also Skeet Ulrich has a few short cameos as the spirit of original killer Billy Loomis.
However, the characters from the past are not really what Scream VI is selling, it actually works pretty well because the two new lead characters are so interesting and well played. (I say new, but they both appeared in the fifth Scream chapter last year, as well.) Melissa Barrera (In the Heights) and Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) carry the film with confidence and charm as two sisters who survived last year’s slayings and moved to New York to escape (and for the younger sister to go to college), only to find that the evil has followed them.
Both are terrific – particularly Barrera – and they make Scream VI one of the more intense and intriguing chapters of the saga. (Well, at least until the sort of stupid and unlikely reveal of the identities of the latest Ghostface killers, but that isn’t their fault.)
Scream VI is more violent than many of the previous films. (In the series’ normal postmodern snarkiness, it is pointed out that later films in a franchise always do everything bigger.) It’s actually also one of the funnier episodes, and suspenseful, too. (At least until that silly climax.)
It has all of the normal Scream problems. The whole idea that the kids try to evade the killer due to horror film rules rather than real life rules still seems a bit too smug and post-modern. And the Ghostface killer is actually kind of a ridiculous bogeyman (although there have been multiple Ghostfaces over the run of the franchise). He (or she, or they, or it… I’m not telling…) is clumsy, easily knocked off balance and fairly regularly defeated. And yes, I get that is sort of the point, these are just a bunch of normal insane people playing copycat, but it makes the character a bit clownish as well as scary. Which, again, is probably part of the point.
But, okay, Scream VI, you’ve got me. As long as you keep following Barrera and Ortega around, I’m in for another chapter or two.

Horror/Psychological Thriller movies to get stressed out over while drinking your hot beverage of choice, in your pajamas, eyeing the closest door to make sure it doesn't creak open.
"Oh fuck I actually have to watch all of these." -Me
Crimson Peak
Two words: Jessica Chastain. What, did you think I was going to say Tom Hiddleston? Oh shit, you're right. Okay FOUR words. This movie features some truly gorgeous visuals, beautiful (historically accurate!!!) costumes, an incredibly macabre plot, and a wonderfully talented cast. Take a shot every time I use an adjective. Of water, of course.
Hush
A Netflix gem. Will make you eye that door warily.
Shutter Island
Leonardo DiCaprio is extremely confused until he's not, and in turn, I am confused. Still a good movie and psychological thriller.
I am the pretty thing that lives in the house
More drama than horror, but still good nonetheless. You should watch it purely because I had to type all of that out.
The Talented Mr. Ripley
One of my all-time favorite movies in general. Not so much a horror movie as it is Call Me By Your Name but with murder and more of a dark academic aesthetic, but still a very fun watch. (More of a psychological thriller I suppose.)
Nightcrawler
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Slimy rat bastard man >:(. This movie was somewhat stressful to watch but it gives an interesting look into the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles.
Freaky
For fans of Supernatural, it has Kathryn Newton. For fans of Bette Midler, she starred in Hocus Pocus with Sarah Jessica Parker, who starred in Sex and The City with Vince Vaughn, so there you go. You're welcome. Give me money. This movie is like Freaky Friday except they substituted the fact that it is Friday for the fact that there is a serial killer in a teenage girl's body. Yikes, I could've phrased that better.
Fargo
Based off of a true story, this is the perfect movie for true crime buffs and just Minnesota in general. Marge Gunderson is a sweet pregnant police officer who loves her husband dearly, and who (somewhat) singlehandedly solves a kidnapping and murder case. It's the most comforting thriller movie I've ever seen. Just... skip the woodchipper scene if you want to keep it that way.
Sweeney Todd
A Tim Burton classic, it stars _____ _____ and Helena Bonham Carter. I don't even need to put his name there, you already know who it is based purely off of the fact that it's a Tim Burton movie. This movie is crazy and macabre and has a sweet couple o' tunes.
Sleepy Hollow
Another Tim Burton classic. It also stars _____ _____. Oh my god I just realized that a lot of people who were in Harry Potter are in Tim Burton's movies. Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Richard Griffiths, and of course, _____ _____. This movie is another one of my all-time favorites. I would live in this movie if I could, I love the scenery so much.
Scream
One of the most iconic horror movies of all time, and for good reason. I laughed out loud at some of the jokes. This movie was a lot of fun to watch. When I was at work today all I could think about was that scene in the movie store. Oh Randy...
Scream 2
Courteney Cox's hair is its own character. Oh Randy...
Frankenstein
A classic Tinseltown Terrifier. A bit slow, but good if you just wanna chill out and accidentally fall asleep on the couch.
Dracula
Another Tinseltown Terrifier. I think Bauhaus said it best with their unnecessarily 9-minute song titled Bela Lugosi's Dead. Bela Lugosi is, in fact, dead. I think.
American Psycho
Learning that Christian Bale is a method actor is utterly terrifying considering just how scary his character is in this movie.
The Birds
Scary 60's Alfred Hitchcock. As someone who is somewhat terrified of birds, I give this movie a thumbs up because I'm scared of what will happen otherwise.
Dark Shadows
Another Tim Burton film starring _____ _____ and HBC. I'm too much of a douche to write out Helena Bonham Carter. It's funny and Chloe Grace Moretz is there too.

2022 Horror Challenge: [1/?]
↳ “Do you have a gun?"
“I'm Sidney fucking Prescott, of course I have a gun.” Scream (2022) dir. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett
Plot: Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, Calif., a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town's deadly past.
Starring: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Melissa Barrera, Jack Quaid, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jasmin Savoy, Sonia Ammar, Marley Shelton & Skeet Ulrich
Here we are again, another year of horror watching by moi has officially begun. Like I officially decided last year, instead of waiting until October like I normally did when I first started these challenges, I’m gonna be doing these things all-year round from now on. Since horror has definitely shot its way up higher as a favorite movie genre of mine now cuz of doing this and it makes it more fun. Anyway, I had already watched this but wanted to wait to make a post for it once the movie was available to rewatch from the comfort of my own home. Because I wanted to give myself time to have my thoughts gathered fully beforehand because, yeah, I had things to say.
Well, if there’s anything I think I’ve made clear on here time and time again, it’s that I love Scream. I really do. I think it made its mark in the genre and earned the status of being a modern classic with great performances and a smart script. The sequels don’t always land as good but they’re entertaining as well. I feel like this one was on par with that expectation at least. It certainly wasn’t going to outdo the original but I had fun with it. That said, I totally called the twist with the killers weeks in advance before watching so there’s that.... Some of the kids were kinda annoying so my investment level wasn’t really quite there for them, but I did find Mason Gooding’s himbo character to be pretty cute. lol And I did also feel for Jenna Ortega’s character. Was not a fan of the new lead girl personally, at all. Thank God for the OGs. Sydney was on point the whole time imo, reminding why she’s one of the best final girls ever. And Gale was entertaining as always. The kills were pretty solid. But man, I just wish they would change up the formula with the actual killers for once because I feel like my work friends and I came up with better twists on the fly than what we saw. This could have been so much better story-wise. But I did still have fun watching it tbh cuz some of this shit really was hilarious imo. So trust, I’ll still be watching that next sequel ngl. lmao

So Yeah we went to see the all-new Scream (Scream 5) this past Tuesday. I'm a big fan of the series I went to see them all and love the original Trilogy I have a bit of Scream Merch around the house too and personally thought Scream 3 had the perfect ending everything was resolved. and then they did 4 and I thought that was going to ruin it but I don't think it it and I enjoyed the 4th one too and felt that was the final end of it. Then the TV show came along and I thought I would give it a chance being I liked the movies but I honestly didn't. the first 2 Seasons of this "reimagining" I didn't like it at all it didn't feel anything like Scream at all with the "Lakewood Slasher" and all that BS but happily I did love the 3rd Season which was subtitled as Scream: Resurrection and I felt that was really good and actually, felt like you were actually, watching something that was part of the Scream series as that finished, I would hear talks about a 5th movie but I never thought it would happen they even joke about a 5th "Stab" movie in Scream 4 but you never think it would happen and then it does.. As for this movie Scream 2022 (Scream 5) I don't want to say to much about it being I don't want to give anything away because it is good!! it so very very good!! and I loved it Now this movie happens in real time and take place about 10 years after the events of the 4th movie (Scream 4 came out in 2011 and they do reference those events in this one) even tho this follows the events of 2011's Scream 4 everything in this movie pretty much circles around back to the original first movie the very first Scream in 1996 The acting was great and the return of the "legacy" characters such as Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette was simply perfect you see what they are doing now and when the killings start, they get pulled into this once again due to the connections from their past and they have to help stop it. Also speaking of killing some of them are really good and some are just so quick and clean it left me be all "wow that was quick!" but some are really good and neat that left me wondering how they did it like was it practical, digital, maybe both? but also I think this might be one of the more physically brutal of the series some of the hits were very bone crunchingly hard and there was some knife action that was so aggressive you could swear you could feel it! also what is Scream without it being self-referential? there is lots of biting criticism about Hollywood and the movie business in regards to horror movies as well as other genes and plenty about sequels, prequels, reboots and remakes, internet/YouTube related things even stuff about fan culture toxic or otherwise. its all very fun and witty the title itself is kinda of a jokey reference that is poking fun at stuff like the recent Halloween where they title the new movie the same as the original one and all the in jokes and movie references is one of the things that makes this series so great. Not only references about other movies but there is alot of easter egg type things in this from the previous movies alot of love and attention to detail went into this movie. and at the end of the movie just before the credits roll there is a nice lil tribute that says "For Wes" which I though was a really sweet gesture that they dedicated the movie to Wes Craven. So in the end I thought the movie was excellent and if you are a fan of the Scream series I highly recommend it.

The Friends Cast’s Best Post-Friends Roles
https://ift.tt/3vr0Vgh
Early on in HBO Max’s long-awaited Friends reunion special “The One Where They Get Back Together,” series co-creator David Crane reveals the producing team’s initial vision for the show.
“We were really intrigued with the idea of doing a true ensemble. It’s not like there’s a lead and they have friends. No, it’s just about the friends. We’re following all of their stories equally.”
Friends would never have worked if Crane, Marta Kauffman, and Kevin Bright hadn’t gone six for six in the casting of the titular friends. One or two solid choices wouldn’t do it. Neither would four or five. It had to be all six.

Friends: 25 Best Episodes
By Louisa Mellor
As evidenced by the fact that there’s now a reunion special more than 15 years after the show has gone off the air (and one that each member of the cast was reportedly paid a staggering $2 million to attend), Friends found the right six actors for the job. David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), and Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) all shared an impeccable chemistry. Not only that, but each was able to carry moments of the show when needed.
As former Friends guest star and interviewee in the special Reese Witherspoon notes: “Friends has this magic because each character is so distinct that they could hold a television show by themselves.”
Of course, nothing lasts forever – not even one of the most successful sitcoms of all time. Though Friends continues to find new fans via streaming, the show concluded for good in 2004 and its central sextet’s careers carried on. Since “The One Where They All Get Back Together” got everyone in the proper mood for reminiscing, let’s reminisce about the best role for each of the cast once their iconic run on Friends concluded.
The only rule for eligibility here is that the actor’s role has to have come after Friends wrapped entirely. This disqualifies otherwise stellar work like Schwimmer in 2001’s Band of Brothers and Aniston in 1999’s The Iron Giant. The role in question also has to have been in a movie or TV series, which hurts Perry a bit as he’s had some good jobs in theater and videogames.
Fittingly enough, however, each of the Friends’ actors best post-Friends role happened to come on a television show.
Matthew Perry – The Odd Couple
Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is absolutely Perry’s most prominent role after Friends. In fact, it might be among the most prominent roles that any Friends castmember has had since the show signed off. Unfortunately, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip ended up being a bit of a cringe fest.
Perry has a promising role as a conservative talk show host coming up in Adam McKay’s next film. For now, his best post-Friends role is likely one of his two recent network sitcom attempts: sports talk radio host Ryan King in NBC’s Go On or Oscar Madison in CBS’s The Odd Couple. Let’s go with the latter because he had good chemistry with co-star Thomas Lennon (who turned up in the Friends reunion special as well).
Matt LeBlanc – Episodes
LeBlanc has not been quite as prolific as his Friends peers since the show concluded. After his character’s spinoff Joey failed at NBC, LeBlanc took a bit of a break from the TV world. When he returned though he did so with unquestionably his best post-Joey role.
In Showtime’s Episodes, LeBlanc plays a fictionalized version of himself cast in a role that doesn’t suit him. The show’s British creators are attempting to update their concept for an American audience and have been saddled with the former Friends star by a studio that really doesn’t get their whole deal. LeBlanc won a Golden Globe for this role and was nominated for four Emmy awards.
Jennifer Aniston – The Morning Show
Aside from some guest appearances on TV here and there, Aniston threw herself into the film world after Friends wrapped up with roles in projects like The Switch, Horrible Bosses, We’re the Millers, and more. It wasn’t until she returned to television in 2019, however, that she found her best post-Rachel Green acting opportunity.
Alongside her Friends sister Reese Witherspoon, Aniston is the star of Apple TV+’s drama The Morning Show, playing morning show host Alex Levy. When her cohost is fired amid a sexual harassment scandal, Alex works to secure her role as the top news anchor while dealing with Witherspoon’s ascendant reporter Bradley Jackson. Aniston was nominated for an Emmy and won the Screen Actors Guild award for the role.
Courteney Cox – Cougar Town
Cougar Town may be saddled with one of the silliest names in all the TV canon, but it’s really a lovely sitcom – maybe the best traditional sitcom a Friends actor has been involved with after Friends, in fact. As created and run by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Ted Lasso), Cougar Town started as a one-note concept that found Cox’s character freshly divorced and prepared to date younger men (you know, like a mountain lion).
The show quickly changed gears, however, and became a charming hangout comedy that highlighted the chemistry and strengths of its cast. At the center of it all was Cox’s pitch perfect depiction of Jules Cobb: an optimistic woman who loves her friends and giant goblets of wine. Cox is also set to reprise one of her major characters from the Friends era when Gale Weathers returns in 2022’s Scream.
David Schwimmer – The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
At first glance, it’s a bit strange that David Schwimmer was part of FX’s The People O.J. Simpson. It’s even stranger that the character he was chosen to play was the Juice’s friend and lawyer Robert Kardashian, white streak in his hair and all. All the memery and mockery at Ross Geller’s presence as the Kardashian paterfamilias in the first American Crime Story is understandable but it belies what is a pretty great performance!
Who knows if Schwimmer’s Bob Kardashian bears any resemblance to the real version. But as a character, he’s a crucial, consistent presence in the miniseries’ 10 episodes as a man who just wants to see the best in his friend for as long as he logically can. Since Friends, Schwimmer has also lent his voice to the Madagascar film series, and co-starred in Sky One comedy Intelligence.
Lisa Kudrow – The Comeback
Lisa Kudrow has kept busy in the 15+ years since Phoebe Buffay rode off into the sunset with Paul Rudd. The actress has been a mainstay in television and film, but it’s the former medium where she made her biggest post-Friends mark. Kudrow co-created 2004 HBO mockumentary The Comeback and stars as the lead Valerie Cherish. The Comeback was an insider comedy about the entertainment industry before that became a trendy topic on television throughout the mid aughts. It’s also one of the best mockumentaries ever.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Valerie Cherish is a B-list sitcom actress trying to recapture her fleeting fame. To that end, she gets a bit role as “Aunt Sassy” on a sitcom called “Room and Bored” and agrees to have her acting comeback documented in a reality series called “The Comeback.”  The Comeback is an incisive satire of the entertainment industry that reaches Office levels of cringe-comedy. Through it all, Kudrow is perfect as the aging actress who is equal parts patient at all the indignities thrown her way and difficult when she wants to be. The show had a well-received second season in 2014.

Hi there! This list is based on some things I've done recently. Let's say, within the last few days. Have you done any of these things in the last few days?
Worn make-up? I never wear makeup. I’ve never felt the need to.
Worn perfume? Sure. I went out last Sunday to bring Cooper to the vet and to take myself out to a coffee shop for a few hours, so I wanted to make sure I smelled decent.
Taken selfies? I think I may have, but I’m sure I deleted them almost immediately.
Shared some photos on social media? Yes, I posted a couple photos of Cooper because he was being super smiley the other day. I also shared a photo of my laptop, which was playing Friends, beside my Friends mug the other night.
Woken up to the sound of your phone vibrating? Technically. But this usually happens when I’m trying to fall asleep in the evening, i.e. someone sending a late-night message, and not in the morning.
Heard the rain outside your window? Yes. It’s literally happening right now haha it just started raining.
Added sugar to a mug of tea/coffee? No. I use 3-in-1 coffee packets, which are already pre-mixed and all I have to do is add hot water. I’m terrible with measurements and starting from scratch and I doubt I’ll ever get the hang of manually combining coffee + sugar + milk + creamer + whatever else goes into coffee haha.
Refilled your drinks bottle? I don’t use a tumbler. I’m at home nearly every day of the week so I always have access to our glasses.
Felt emotionally involved while reading a book? This has happened before for sure, but not in the last few days.
Chuckled/laughed while reading a book? Uhhh I guess. My employer recently lent me this book on PR that they thought would help me gain a richer appreciation of the industry and I guess I did lightly chuckle at a few humorous anecdotes in it.
Spilled a drink? I don’t think so.
Eaten something that was sprinkled with sugar? Nope. I’ve eaten sweets here and there but nothing sprinkled with sugar.
Googled the definition of a word? At least a few times a day.
Read a Wikipedia article? Yes, I love Wikipedia. The last entry I read was a list on notable last words.
Laughed at a video you watched online? So many times. The main reason I watch videos is to be entertained and to laugh, to be honest; so it’s nice that a lot of creators make great, funny content.
Craved a savoury snack of some description? I’ve been craving gourmet donuts for weeks now. Nothing sweet; I’m looking for those with creative, out-of-the-box flavors.
Cursed after dropping an item on the floor? Probably.
Been amused by your pet's behaviour? I am always amused at their behavior. Kimi’s approaching 13 years but he still makes me laugh every single day.
Recognized an actor in a TV show, from another show you'd seen? I’ve only been watching Friends, soooo nothing to compare it to.
Seen an actor on TV that you thought attractive? Courteney Cox, always.
Typed something in a word processor? I had to look this up lol, but I guess I have if Google Docs counts as one? I use it a lot for work.
Been asked a question that you found awkward or difficult to answer? Sure. My grandma called up when I was stuck in a particularly tough period of my shift and she was asking how it’s been. I didn’t want to worry her or overshare, so I paused for a bit and just said “it’s going great!”
Smelled a pleasant food aroma? Yeah, my dad cooks up some great stuff al the time.
Dipped your food in ketchup, mayonnaise or another sauce? Tartar sauce.
Forgotten a hot beverage, then found it had gone cold? I don’t make hot beverages, so.

What music video do you wish you were in? I don’t watch music videos a lot, mostly because they’re usually not at all related to the song it corresponds to and I never saw the point. Buttt idk, the one I had some of the most fun watching was One Direction’s Best Song Ever because it was hilarious. It’d be cool to fuck around with the characters there.
Who makes you laugh the most? I’d say it’s either Andi or Hans. JM and Kate are good runners-up.
You only can eat three things the rest of your life, what do choose? That would make me sick of those foods so fast...but if it were a legit life-and-death situation, I would go with surf and turf (so that I at least have a bit of variety), rice (because I can’t live without rice), and macarons (for something sweet).
What's one thing you wish you had in your life right now? Macarons. I recently liked a slew of local macaron shops on Facebook and even though I know it’s my fault, I hateeee that my feed is filled with macarons now haha.
If you had to give up your style, what other style would you choose? I’m not really sure. I can think of more styles I’m not willing to adopt, than those that can be my back-up.
What's your favorite ice cream topping? Hot fudge.
What is the bare minimum of sleep you could function on? I guess 3 or 4, but that’s the barest of the bare minimum. I would still be cranky if I was only able to sleep for that few hours.
When you drive, do you generally speed? Yeah, if I can. You’re always stuck in traffic in Manila so if you have the chance to press harder on the gas, you typically wouldn’t want to miss out on it.
Are you an animal lover? Yes, except for pests and insects I don’t like, like cockroaches.
What's the dumbest thing you've done because someone dared you? I once ate a piece of siomai that already fell to the ground; when I ate it I felt a lot of tiny pebbles and other debris so I promptly spat it out in a nearby bin.
What is the most disgusting trait that you have? Idk...typical disgusting habits make me wince myself. The worst thing I can think of is that I tend to keep my nails super long just out of neglect; and I usually only clip them once dirt starts getting trapped under the nails, or once it starts to become hard to type.
What was the last thing you talked to your friends about? Angela had made this really cute, DIY foldable collage for Hans for his birthday yesterday and I just checked in on her earlier to ask if he loved it.
What part of your day do you look forward to the most? The moment my shift ends.
What are your favorite song lyrics? This week, it’s probably “It isn’t the same, but it is enough.” It’s oddly calming no matter how sad the actual context is.
Who are your closest friends? Angela and Andi.
What profession do you admire the most? All are worthy of admiration. I don’t really have a ~favorite~
Do you believe in karma? Not strictly in the spiritual sense; but it can be comforting to think that the people who have hurt me will have their ass handed back to them someday.
What do you think is the funniest show on TV? Ooh, I don’t watch a lot of TV anymore...I have a sitcom in mind but it ended 17 years ago and it’s still pretty polarizing to this day, lol.
Are you an organ donor? No.
Did you have imaginary friends when you were younger? Just one, but I didn’t get the point of it and I got bored very quickly.
Have you ever smoked weed? No but a friend knows a supplier should I ever want to start getting into it.
Who do you look up to for your style? Idk, whatever girls my age are wearing these days.
What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought? With my own money, probably the hotel accommodation I purchased for my dad’s birthday this weekend. I’m super stingy with my money and I can’t imagine spending 4 or 5 figures on something just for myself.
What's your favorite amusement park ride? Not too big on rides.
Who was the craziest teacher you've ever had? Ironically, it was my Christianity/religion teacher from 5th grade. We bumped into each other a few weeks after I graduated high school and his first remark towards me was about my breasts. He did a lot of stupid shit too when I was in 5th grade but I don’t feel like getting into them because he was just one big headache of a man.
Where would you like to travel that you have not been? Thailand, if within Asia; Spain if outside.
If you could be any musician for a day, who would you be and why? No thanks.
Do you have any tattoos? No.
What are your favorite scary movies? Some favorites are Carrie, The Shining, and Scream.

Note
I recently had a dream about a plot for a fic where reddie get a duck from mike on their wedding day and the note makes it seem like it’s meaningful to their relationship and they spend their whole honeymoon trying to figure out what the deep meaning of this duck is and it turns out stan and bev dared mike to do it to fuck w/ them and when i woke up i immediately was like SOMEONE HAS TO WRITE THIS and i immediately thought of you! (literally u don’t have to it’s just funny how i thought of you)
Hi Nonnie! This *probably* isn’t what you had in mind, but I hope you like it anyway ^_^ ♥️
Your Love Life’s DOA (read on ao3)
“...a chick.”
“Pretty sure it’s a cock, dude.”
“It’s a chicken, asswipe. Cocks are roosters.”
“Huh. And here I thought cocks were—”
“Don’t,” Eddie Kaspbrak held up his hands, cutting Richie Tozier off mid-terrible-joke.
Richie just smirked, his eyes alight in a way that never failed to make Eddie’s stomach swoop.
“Cock, chicken, whatever it is,” he waved dismissively with the hand not cradling the miniature poultry, “it’s cute as fuck.”
Eddie stared at Richie staring down at the (probable) baby chicken, warmth spreading across his chest.
He only basked in the feeling for .2 seconds however as the irritation he had felt this morning when he opened the door to go grab their mail and nearly stomped on the little feather-ball, made a swift resurgence.
“But why the fuck was it outside our door?”
“...”
“Richie.”
“...”
“Rich.”
“...”
“Trashmouth!”
Richie’s head snapped up from where he had been gazing down at the chick that looked comically small in his ridiculously large hand.
Eddie’s treacherous stomach did an impressive (if annoying) front handspring.
“I don’t know, Eds. Maybe it was meant for the butcher shop down the street. Or a petting zoo,” he tilted his head, looking pensive, “maybe it’s Erica Delaney getting her sweet revenge on me after I broke our egg-son in the first five minutes of class. Or it’s the chicken god’s gift to us to raise in his image, fucked if I know. All I do know is,” he shrugged, gently, with one shoulder as to not jostle the chirping baby bird, “we're definitely keeping it.”
Eddie blinked.
“We can’t keep a chicken in the apartment, Richie.”
Richie’s eyebrows raised halfway up his expansive forehead.
“Why not? I own the building, and I say it’s all good for lil Chick-Fil-A to stay.”
“We’re not naming it after a homophobic chicken restaurant, dickwad.”
A slow smile spread across Richie’s face that had Eddie’s pulse simultaneously racing and screeching to a halt.
“...But we are keeping it?”
Fuck.
~*~
“Chicken Little?”
“No.”
“Chicken Run.”
“What?”
“Chick Flick.”
“Hell no.”
“Oh! Wait! I got it - Chicken Carbonara! Carbs for short.”
“You’re an idiot.”
“I agree,” Stanley Uris piped up as he meandered his way over to where Eddie and Richie (baby chick loudly making her presence known in his shirt pocket) were arguing at the sink, glass in hand, topping up Patty’s Merlot.
“You don’t have a horse in this race, Staniel,” Richie dismissed his input, gently running a finger over the chick’s fuzzy head, adopting a sickening sweet baby voice, “Isn’t that right, Carbs? Uncle Stan the Man wouldn’t know a good nickname if it kicked him in the face.”
“Coming from the man called ‘Trashmouth.’”
“Eds gave me that name, so blame him,” Richie quirked an eyebrow, elbowing the man in question.
Eddie’s Chardonnay tipped dangerously close to the rim of the glass.
Richie ignored his murderous glare.
“Now all we need,” Richie beamed with pride as ‘Carbs’ gave another loud chirp from her cloth perch, “...is a duck.”
Eddie winced, “You need to stop binge-watching Friends, Rich. Who are we, Joey and Chandler?”
“Dibs on Chandler!”
Eddie rolled his eyes, gesturing up and down at Richie.
“Well duh.”
Richie merely smirked, tilting his head at him, “You’re definitely more of a Monica than a Joey, though.”
“So in this scenario, you two are married?”
Both Eddie and Richie whirled around to blink at Stan who had attracted the attention of the rest of the Losers, each now awaiting some sort of response with rising interest.
Eddie refused to give one.
He also refused to look at Richie not give one.
“Ooh we’re playing the Which Friends Character Are You game, huh?” Richie asked, stepping around Stan, eyes still focussed on the chick.
Stan rolled his eyes, “There’s eight of us, it doesn’t work.”
“Spoken like a true Ross.”
Stan shook his head and sighed.
Like the Ross he was.
“Alright, I’m game,” Bev piped up, raising her glass from across the room, her eyes glinting at Richie.
“Do your worst, Trashmouth.”
Richie smirked, clearly tickled by the challenge.
“Alright, Marsh,” he cleared his throat, beginning to pace the room like Columbo at the end of every episode, where he explained how he solved the whole damn case with nothing but a moved potted plant, “You’re Phoebe obviously, because you’re a fiery but lovable enigma who’s cooler than all of us combined.”
Bev chuckled, “Damn straight.”
“Haystack here,” Richie whirled around, cradling Carbs to his chest in one hand and pointing with the other, “is our Joey for his actor good-looks and lovable nature.”
Ben sank down into the couch next to Bev, picking up her socked-feet and rubbing them, “I’ll take it.”
Bev grinned, “I did always think Joey and Phoebe should’ve got together. Although Paul Rudd was great.”
“Which leads me to,” Richie turned to his left, smirking.
“Oh no,” Mike held up his hands, “count me out. Black people weren’t even a thing on Friends until like season 9 or whatever so—”
“Oh yeah, the diversity sucks ass Mikey, no one’s disputing that,” Richie agreed with a nod, “but hear me out. You’re Mike, Mike! A sexy, African-American Paul Rudd. Think about it...you may come in late in the game but you win everyone over instantly with your good looks, nerdy charm and wicked air-piano skills! Just like you did with the Losers Club!”
Mike blinked, amused.
Stan tilted his head.
“I don’t think that’s exactly—”
“Same with Patty!”
Richie cut Stan off, clearly on a roll, whirling around to point at his wife.
“It feels like she’s always been with us, right?” he asked the group at large, smile pleased when everyone nods in agreement, Bev winding an arm around her from where she was perched on the arm of the couch, causing Patty to flush and grin behind her wine glass at the compliment.
“And you know who was always with the Friends? Always there, like an honorary 7th member? Or 8th in this case?”
Eddie rolled his eyes, not quite believing he was going to participate in this.
“Gunther.”
Richie winked, “Gold star for Kaspbrak.”
“She does make a mean Cappuccino,” Stan mumbled almost absentmindedly as Patty gave her charming snort-laugh, letting her head rest against her husband’s shoulder as he stood next to the couch.
“Which leaves…”
Richie slowly turned on the spot, like the dramatic bastard he was.
“Congrats, Bill. You’re Rachel. Our Jen Aniston. People are gonna start copying your hairstyle soon.”
Bill chuckled, “Yeah, don’t think ‘The Bill’ has quite the same ring to it, Rich.”
Richie gave a dismissive wave.
“It’ll catch on. Then you’ll become a mega movie star and forget the rest of us exist. Except for Eddie, of course.”
Bill frowned.
“Why just Eddie?”
Richie threw him an exasperated look.
“Because he’s Monica! Courteney Cox. Best friend of Jen to this day. Duh.”
“So you two are married, then?”
Eddie felt his throat tighten as Richie squared his shoulders at Stanley, gently putting Carbs in her bed before huffing out a laugh.
“Nah man, we’re still in the friends-who-help-friends-give-their-dates-orgasms-in-seven-steps, stage.”
Stan rolled his eyes.
“Right.”
Eddie watched as the two friends stared at one another, a weird tension draping over them.
And in true Phoebe-style, Bev broke it.
“Hey, who wants to hear my Smelly Cat rendition?”
Richie’s analysis was flawed, of course. Bill didn’t know jack about fashion (that was Bev), Ben built stages not performed on them, Stan actually loved, cherished and respected his partner, Patty wasn’t desperately in unrequited love with Bill (that was Mike, though it was requited), Mike wasn’t married to Bev (that was Ben) and Bev…
Well.
Bev was spot on, actually. A riddle, wrapped in an enigma, shrouded in mystery, all while being simultaneously cool and lovable.
And Eddie?
He was Monica Geller and proud of it, dammit.
A damn shame Courteney never got the Emmy-nom, in his opinion.
As for Richie?
Richie wasn’t Chandler Bing. Chandler Bing was Richie Tozier.
“If only they had let Chandler be gay,” Richie sighed wistfully as Eddie closed the door, waving off the last of their guests, Bill and Mike as they hopped in an Uber headed for Casa Denbrough.
“Why? So you could fuck Ben instead?”
Eddie knew how his voice sounded as he slowly leaned back against the door, reaching out to pull Richie towards him by his collar, crashing their lips together in a bruising kiss that he had ached for all night.
Richie gasped into his mouth, his hands roaming Eddie’s body like a hyperactive octopus, pressing him back against the door and rolling his bottom lip between his teeth.
Eddie groaned, breaking the kiss, staring up at his best-friend-turned-secret-boyfriend.
“So, when do we tell them we hooked up at Ben and Bev’s wedding?”
Richie chuckled, leaning down and pressing his lips against Eddie’s neck, right over the spot he knew drove him crazy, breathing hot against his skin.
“Not until I ask Bill for his eyelash curler and Ben figures us out. Duh.”
~*~
They really should have been all fucked out after three weeks of eating, drinking, sleeping and sex-ing in Barbados, and yet, as soon as they got back to their apartment, they christened their old bed, their leaking shower and the living room floor because they just couldn’t get enough of each other.
Married.
They were fucking married.
Husbands.
Legally bound.
Til death—
No, not even death could stop them. They proved that already.
“You’re heavy,” Eddie groaned, his chest vibrating under where Richie had his face squished against it.
“It’s all the Barbadian food, dude. S’gone straight to my thighs.”
Eddie brushed his hand along said thigh, squeezing roughly.
“Hmm. I like your thighs.”
“I like you.”
“You better. You’re kinda stuck with me now.”
Richie lifted his head off Eddie’s sweaty chest, smiling softly, interlocking their left hands, pressing their rings together.
“Guess my love life isn’t D.O.A anymore, huh.”
Eddie groaned, and not in the sexy way he had been five minutes before.
“Those Friends references grew old in the nineties, dude. Stop.”
Richie pecked at his lips, letting out a sound of disagreement.
“I’ll have you know, Eds, I—”
The unmistakable sound of a knock echoed throughout the apartment.
They blinked at one another.
“Who the fuck is that? No one knows we’re home yet.”
The post-Honeymoon-fuck had come (heh) above all - including texting the group chat that they had made it back safely onto California soil.
Marriage had made them selfish like that.
Eddie shrugged, “I don’t know. Could be Rosa dropping off Carbs. I did tell her we’d be back today, and she might have like...sensed us. You know what she’s like.”
Rosa was their downstairs neighbour, a lovable, elderly woman who seemed to have had a sixth sense for everything Richie and Eddie-related even before they had become a couple, often calling them out for the pining bullshit before they got their act together, got tipsy at Benverly’s wedding and jumped each other.
Or as Richie put it once - “She high-key ships us, man. Wants us to bone it out.”
To this day, Eddie had no idea what that meant.
Another knock came, this one louder.
“Alright, I’m coming,” Eddie called out, pushing a whining Richie off his chest before he could make the obvious joke and forcing himself to sit up, grimacing as the sheet stuck to his back.
He’d have to be the one to answer. No way he was unleashing a half-naked Richie onto Mrs Hernandez.
Eddie actually had the decency to pull on sweatpants and an old Trashmouth-tee before padding to the door.
He knew his husband did not.
Husband.
Eddie smiled to himself, his stomach doing its usual somersaults that he knew would never fully disappear.
Richie Tozier, his lifelong best friend, was now his husband too.
Crazy.
“Sorry Rosa, we were—”
His incredibly made-up-on-the-spot excuse died on his lips as he opened the front door to reveal - nothing.
Frowning, Eddie stared into the empty air, turning his head to glance down the very vacant hallway.
And then, he heard it.
Quack!
“Oh, not again.”
“Duck!”
Richie said it like fuck.
Like he had been human-autocorrected.
“Yes, Richie, I see that,” Eddie sighed at his husband who had appeared over his shoulder, still shirtless, staring down at the baby duck sitting pretty in a box, much like Carbs had two years before.
“We’re not naming him Daffy,” Eddie grumbled, bending down to gently pick up the box, cradling the duckling against his chest and kicking the door shut.
Richie opened his mouth.
“Or Donald.”
Richie closed his mouth.
One quack called Donald was enough.
“We’ll brainstorm,” Richie grinned, leaning down and capturing Eddie’s lips, before softly patting the new addition to their family on the head.
They’d find the note later. The one that read,
To Chandler and Monica,
You two were the last to find out.
Not Stan.
Here’s a brother for Carbs.
We left her with you as a prank, for Richie’s Friends obsession, but you became the best dads ever instead. You’ll do it again.
Just don’t get them stuck in the Foosball Table.

rules: pick 5 shows, then answer the following questions. don’t cheat. tag some people.
(just gonna pick a few of my faves, these aren’t necessarily my ALL-TIME favorites)
tagging: @soccer-kate-22 and anybody else who wants to do it!
1. Santa Clarita Diet
2. The Haunting of Hill House
3. Shameless
4. Friends (don't @ me)
5. The Office
Who is your favorite character in 2?
Both Nell and Luke Crain. It’s a twin thing.
Who is your least favorite character in 1?
Oh god, does Carl count? He’s an asshole.
What is your favorite episode of 4?
Either 5x04 (The One Where Everybody Finds Out) or 10x02 (The One Where Ross Is Fine)
What’s your favorite season of 5?
Season Four, hands down!
What’s your favorite couple in 3?
Ian and Mickey of course!!!
Who’s your favorite couple in 2?
Nell and Arthur. They deserved better and that's that on that
What is your favorite episode of 1?
Oh my god there are so many good ones and I haven't rewatched it in awhile so I am just gonna say 2x03 (A Moral Gray Area) because it kicked off the storyline of Sheila hunting Nazis and the whole scene at Boone’s house is HILARIOUS
What is your favorite episode of 5?
4x09 (Dinner Party), peak comedy.
What’s your favorite season of 2?
There has only been one season so far soooo I am gonna have to say season one?
How long have you been watching 1?
I watched the first season like two weeks after it came out in February 2017.
How did you become interested in 3?
I kept seeing GIFS of Mickey and Ian on Tumblr and got emotionally invested in the ship so I had to watch it for myself (this was during season three)
Who is your favorite actor in 4?
I am gonna have to go with either Courteney Cox or Jennifer Aniston
Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
They are great for different things! Santa Clarita Diet has hilarious characters and very relevant to issues in the world, Haunting of Hill House is so beautiful that it gives me goosebumps, and the Office is good if you just want something funny and familiar.
Which have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
Obviously Shameless because it has like 120 episodes whereas Santa Clarita Diet only has 30.
If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
I mean, none of them lead lives that I'm particularly jealous of lmao but I definitely am already very similar to Monica’s character
Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
It would be a really fucking weird crossover but its plausible that they could exist in the same universe I guess haha
Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple?
Aren’t Abby and Eric already sort of falling into that category by the last episode?
Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
Shameless for the most part
Who has better music, 2 or 4
Neither of them are really music focused by I guess Haunting Of Hill House, mostly for that Heavenly Day song from the Bent Neck Lady episode.

Review: SCREAM Returns with All the Self-Awareness and "Stabbiness" the Fans Expect
Tumblr media
It has been many years since Scream 4 – ten, to be exact – and a few less years since the tragic and untimely death of horror master, Wes Craven, but it was only going to be so long before someone revived the definition of high-concept horror franchises.
It’s tasked to the filmmaking collective of Radio Silence (Ready or Not) to try and create a new incarnation of the horror premise while bringing back things fans love… all while trying to change things enough to not make a stale remake. I have no doubt they went into this fully knowing the scrutiny they would get from the sometimes toxic fandom, not unlike the onus put on David Gordon Green when he took over the Halloween horror franchise, receiving mixed reactions from critics and horror fans alike. (If you want a laugh, try to get a few diehard horror fans to agree on whether either of Green’s first two movies work or not compared to the Carpenter classic.)
The entire “Scream” franchise was built around the idea of Craven making these meta horror-comedies that poked fun of the type of slashers he made earlier in his career. They also thrived on the gimmick that tied any new kills kills back to the very first movie, and the horrible past experienced by Neve Campbell’s Sydney Prescott. This doesn't completely break the mold, but I’m going to presume you haven’t seen the trailer and maybe you know nothing about this new movie that decided not to number itself. You won't find any spoilers beyond the basic set-up.
Most people seeing this will already be cognizant that this new Scream, like all the others, will open with the first “kill” as young Tara (Jenna Ortega) is alone at home, the phone rings, and she’s attacked by a killer in a Ghostface mask. Yes, kids, we’re back in Woodsboro, where no teenager is safe. Tara survives the attack but her estranged older sister Sam (Melissa Barrera) returns home with her boyfriend Richie (Jack Quaid), and of course, they’re aware both of the previous Woodsboro killings plus the “Stab!” horror franchise based on them. Sam has a deeper and more personal connection to them, a secret that tore her family apart and separated her from Tara for nearly five years.

As usual, the movie is extremely self-aware, and all the usual horror rules are in place, as well as a few new ones added to mark the changing times. Although the younger generation has more resources than teens in the ‘90s – like Googling the answers to Ghostface’s deadly trivia game – they're still capable of all the dumb things teens tend to do in these types of movies. As before, much of the movie involves trying to guess who the killer is and/or who will be killed next. (When I saw that Kyle Gallner was in this movie, I immediately thought, “Yeah, he must be the killer.”)
The movie’s biggest problem is that when Ghostface isn’t attacking someone, the movie deteriorates into soap opera-level melodrama, which may be necessary to get the viewer invested in the new, younger characters, but it still feels weird. Of the new breed, my personal favorite was Jasmin Savoy Brown’s Mindy, who takes the place of the know-it-all Randy in terms of explaining to others how the horror film they’re in works, plus she offers much-needed humor throughout.
Tumblr media
David Arquette is given many moments to really shine as former Deputy Dewey, as he’s coerced out of retirement to help these kids, though you will have to wait a good hour if you’re looking forward to seeing Sidney Prescott or Courteney Cox’s reporter Gale Riley. They both play key roles in the story, for sure, but it’s still a little time before they get involved, so don’t start worrying that you were fooled into seeing the movie based on their prominence in the trailers.
Trying to outdo Wes Craven would have been a folly for any filmmaker, yet Radio Silence has made a Scream movie that’s not only more violent than any of Craven’s movies but also more gory, which would surprise no one who saw Ready or Not. Let’s just say that this Scream earns its R-rating even if it mixes cheesy jump scares with some real curveballs meant to change things up from what people might expect from a Scream movie.
The original four movies offered a lot of action with Sydney Prescott frequently fighting back against her assailant, and the filmmakers maintain that kinetic energy that mixes action into the horror. Without giving anything away, the new Scream probably sports the most satisfying last act of the franchise going back to the original, coming full circle with a “requel” that has a few weak moments, but it’s still a Scream movie that would have made Wes Craven proud.
Rating: 7.5/10
