excited to finally share my pieces for the @deancasanimebang! @bleuzombie's cowboy bebop fusion immediately got my attention and their story was a great inspiration for dramatic scenes and tones. also honoured to work with @nickelkeep and their versatility of being both the beta and other artist for the story. this event got me to try different approaches and styles when drawing that i'm very satisfied by and will try out more in the future.

top five animes
Hi Maša 🤍 Don't mind me rambling a little in asnwering the question (:
The Rose of Versailles (1979-1980), adapted from the manga by Riyoko Ikeda. The scandals, the intrigues, the dramatic sparkling eyes and glittery tears! The big crush I had on Lady Oscar! I used to watch it all the time on television when I was a child (and a teen, and now as I am an adult) so there's a sentimental value to it too. This anime has the most specialest spot on my heart (:
ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept (2017), adapted from the manga by Natsume Ono. Not long ago I was rambling to no end about how much I love this one so it's no surprise I'm putting it on the list hehe. This anime has a super nice style, a banger funk sound track, great characters and a thrilling plot about a golpe and also delicious looking food. I found it by accident five years ago and regularly watch it every year, this is how much I like it.
House of Five Leaves (2010), adapted from the manga by Natsume Ono again (what can I say, I am a fan) I found it after watching ACCA and despite it being something entirely different, I think one can recognise Natsume Ono's touch in the lingering sense of ambiguity in the plot, the subtle tensions and the super charming characters that make both animes real bangers, the writing is great! The range, ma'am.
Mononoke (2007). This was recommended by a friend who suggested I may have liked the style and, guess what! they were right. The atmosphere is eerie and strange in the most charming way and compliments perfectly the various horror-themed plots. I haven't watched it in ages (,:
One Piece (1999-ongoing), adapted from the manga by Eiichiro Oda. Doesn't need introductions. Iconic. I have the fondest memories of One Piece that cover basically all my life. It feel so weird to think one day it will be over.
Tumblr media
Special mentions: Mushishi (2005-2006) thank you Dani forever for recommending it, Cowboy Bebop (1999-2000) banger that I never finished, F (1988) that nobody remembers but I was literally obsessed with it as a kid

The 100 Favorite Movies Challege
As a huge movie buff, I thought I'd try something fun on here. I have decided to launch a new internet challenge: "The 100 Favorite Movies Challenge". The rules are pretty simple and straight forward. You create a list of 100 of your personal favorite movies in alphabetical order, post the list on your home page, then nominate other people/users of your choosing to do the challenge.
There is no limit to what movies can be included on your list. Films within any medium (live action or animated), genre, and decade are more than welcome. Whether it's longtime favorites you were introduced to when you were younger, favorites that you've picked up over the years, or recent discoveries or releases that quickly became your favorites, anything and everything is on the table here.
I'll start off by sharing my list. To be clear, I have way more than 100 favorite movies, but to have the number be anything past that may be a bit much for some people. Please don't judge me if it seems like there might be a few noteworthy titles missing on here. I mainly put this list together just for fun. Alright, here we go!

Oh this is fun!! Thanks @9ndreus for the tag!
[TAG SOMEONE YOU WANT TO KNOW AND/OR SOME OF YOUR BESTIES]
favorite color: burgundy/deep red, which is the only thing other than all black that I've been wearing for the last 20 years of my life, much to my family and friends and coworkers chagrin, who will not shut up about it and keep asking me decade after decade why I don't wear colors
last song: Birdy's absolutely beautiful cover of The A Team which I love infinitely more than the original, sorry not sorry
last movie: A Man Called Otto, nice and wholesome
currently watching: OFMD s2 and Loki s2 (the last one mostly for completism, tbh)
other stuff I watched this year: I am in the middle of a massive rewatch of my personal japanese animation canon for research reasons, so here are a few (common themes are dystopian scenarios, human/artificial intelligence, various degrees of queer representation, rich philosophical content, ethical dilemmas, great soundtracks): Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Ergo Proxy, Serial Experiment Lain, Planetes, Last Exile, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Made in Abyss
shows I dropped this year: I tried and immediately failed to watch Sex Education
currently reading: The Complete Short Stories of Anton Pavlovič Čechov (warning: there is a lot of them); also, the stunning graphic novel, or graphic poem to be precise, Ai suoi tratti (To Her Traits - "traits" both as facial features and as pencil strokes), by Italian artist Gio Quasirosso, it came out yesterday Oct. 24 and I've just finished it this very afternoon so I guess it counts as "current" (I hope it gets an international release because it is a thing of great beauty)
currently listening to: David Arnold's GO soundtrack, mainly!
currently working on: finishing my InktOmens project, for one (which may become a set of prints/handmade reproductions if I figure out the shipping?), and other GO related stuff: a couple of planned artworks and some unnecessarily long-winded metas which apparently tend to make everybody cry; possibly my first attempt at a fanfic since my old ff-writer days (we are talking 2005, my friends, that's how ancient I am)
current obsession/s: Good Omens to a pathological level, it's almost scary (but it also brought me back to drawing after almost a decade-long hiatus and introduced me to this great fandom, so I'm grateful)
Ok I'm relatively new here and also bad at recognising people even after several interactions (raise your hands, my neurodivergent brothers and sisters), so I'll tag a couple of people that made me smile in the last few weeks, if they feel like joining in: @oskar-vajld @lauranalanthalasa @bluberryfields @actual-changeling

For the tarot questions: the hanged man
Thank you for the ask!!
The Hanged Man: Favorite movie soundtrack?
Had you gone back in time and asked me this when I was 11 or so, I would have been able to give you a MUCH more complete answer. That was the year my mom and I went to a concert of John Williams’ works at our local symphony, and a few weeks later she gifted me several sets of John Williams CDs for my birthday, so I was absolutely obsessed with movie scoring. I really wanted to compose a score for a movie of my own someday, but whenever I tried, I'd be hit with composer's block or my attempts would quickly fizzle out. (Not gonna lie, I still wanna do this—and, in fact, I have composed and recorded a piece for a short film my friend made in high school!)
At that age, I had a whole list of all my favorite movie soundtracks. I sadly think the actual contents of the list have been lost to time, but I remember it heavily featured John Williams’ compositions for Harry Potter and Star Wars, of course, as well as Michael Giacchino’s compositions for the reboot Star Trek movies and various Pixar films. The list also included the Amadeus soundtrack (which is just works by Mozart and his contemporaries), I think as an excuse for 11-year-old me to be a smartass—I don’t think I’d even seen the movie in full.
I’m not 11 anymore, but honestly I still think I’d cite a lot of those as my favorite—the Star Wars and Star Trek soundtracks in particular were just too much a part of my formative years; I’d play them on repeat over and over, studying what made them so great, desperately wishing I could weave notes into magic like that. John Williams and Michael Giacchino are truly talented. I’d also reiterate Amadeus, now that I’ve actually seen the movie—and the soundtrack has taken on a new significance for me now that I’ve sung Mozart’s Requiem in choir and immersed myself in it. These weren’t on my list, but I also listened to the soundtracks of Pride & Prejudice (2005) and Inside Out a lot back then.
If I had to choose something I’ve watched AFTER age 11 or 12 or so, I’d pick Cowboy Bebop: The Movie—Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door (and, well, all of Cowboy Bebop, but this question specifies movies). What Planet Is This?! in particular is probably my all-time favorite piece in the entire Cowboy Bebop soundtrack.

Cowboy Bebop by Auryn Character: The Crew of the Bebop Image Source: Unknown Font: tsp pi Comments: This one is kinda odd, but I thought it’d be nice to have a skin of the entire crew of the Bebop at a state of (relative) rest. Besides, I liked how sketchy the image was. Maybe someone out there will like it.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie | September 1, 2001 | Feature Film Adult Swim premiere: September 4, 2005 - 12:00AM
This entry can’t be short. It’s about a movie, and a movie is at least three times as long as a TV episode, so I need to make this write-up at least three paragraphs. To not do that would be a failure. This, by the way, is one of those paragraphs.
This is a stand-alone Cowboy Bebop film, which takes place in the middle of the series, supposedly between episodes 22 & 23. I’m guessing this is just by process of elimination and you aren’t really supposed to care. Stuff like the Bounty Hunter TV show not being canceled and the crew being all together and whatnot means this movie isn’t a prequel or a sequel. But honestly I don’t think it’s supposed to matter that much.
The plot of the movie has to do with a freaking virus being unleashed by a scary terrorist guy. It’s like freaking COVID-19 ALL OVER AGAIN! If the human population on Mars just trusted the science and got vaccinated and masked up we wouldn’t be in this mess!!
An aside: Remember when COVID was popping off how obnoxiously lame a lot of the virtue signalling stuff about it was? I am not anti-vax, but I get why people would be wary of one given how awful and demonic the US government has been for the past… for the past. But–I’m sorry, I’ve been thinking about this and have nowhere else to complain about it–I remember a cartoon somebody drew that was called like MASKTARDS (except it was something less incendiary) and it depicted people being FUCKING IDIOTS with their masks by not wearing them right and one of them depicted a guy, alone in his car, and the mask was hanging off the rear-view mirror and the implication was like… he should’ve been wearing his mask while he’s alone in his car?? What the fuck is that?
Hey, just about got this thing to length, good for me. Anyway: This movie isn’t that much better than the good episodes of this show, and in fact is pretty average as far as that goes. Had some good moments. I recall the opening being strong. It really does play out like a decent stand-alone action sci-fi film with the Cowboyers we all know and love. But all movies based on TV shows are basically like that, so why not this one?
