One thing I did not like about the Azriel bonus chapter, and one thing that turned me off from Elriel in general, was how he sees Lucien. He says that Lucien “will never be good enough for Elain” and it fully ready to fight him in a blood duel something Lucien would NEVER call for btw.

I think these negative thoughts about Lucien stem from a mix of jealousy (because he says he cannot stand the smell of their mating bond), Lucien as a Vanserra and having Eris as a brother, and from his association with Tamlin. All of these can be sort of understandable if Az didn’t know Lucien and interact with him often. Lucien reports to him bi-weekly, he comes to the solstices. And anyone can see that Lucien is a good male who is respectful.

And in ACOWAR, Lucien knew that Az is the torture and spymaster of the Night Court. And let’s not forget that the Night Court and the inner circle have showing themselves as evil to the rest of Prythian for hundreds of years. And when we see Lucien think about Az for the first time, he says he’s a decent male.

Lucien doesn’t hold anything against Az. Lucien doesn’t make assumptions. But Azriel does. And this immediately turned me off from Elriel because I think Lucien is currently the better male than Az is.

just thinking about how one of the first real choices scully made was joining the fbi, and then staying with mulder. and people within the show are always questioning those choices, disapproving them, dismissing it as rebellion. and then (some of) fandom goes so far as to say she could do better, that he's holding her back & ruining her life. as if she doesn't make the choice over & over again. as if she doesn't care about their cause. as if she doesn't have personal investment in the x files. as if she didn't choose him because of his passion, and compassion. as if she doesn't also love humanity. as if she isn't also a huge nerd who doesn't get along with many people or let anyone else close. as if mulder isn't the only person she trusts! as if scully doesn't hang on every word he says. as if he doesn't adore her? as if he wouldn't die for her? live for her?

like that's just insane behavior. so what if she didn't climb the ladder? scully decided in episode three that that wasn't important to her. she cares about victims & justice & protecting people from predators. she's a pathologist, she speaks for the dead, she wants the truth. she's there, just like he is!!

Spoilers for The Owl House season 3 episode 1 ahead:

I'm so mad. I'm so, incredibly mad.

There is only one episode out right now, and I'm already pissed. You can see where they were going to build up to the Belos thing, you can see so much of what they wanted to do in the beginning but had to cut because Disney wants Dana Terrace to suffer and the fans suffer. I'm so pissed because this show is so good, but Disney snuffed the light and had to make them cut the beautiful story into shreds because they wouldn't allow them a full season. Because they hate representation that much, that they would risk money on a series so popular, so loved by fans that I have no doubt they could wring the series for all the money in the world and we wouldn't care (much) because it's such a good series. No, they can't do that, something they've been known to do and have done multiple times. They can't see the monopoly they could possibly make through this series. Why? Because two girls are in a relationship. Because there is LGBT representation. I'm so mad that we couldn't see the months pass by, see Willow and Hunter maybe flirt, see the scene where Luz comes out to her mom with Amity, I want to see Gus gush more about human stuff. I wanted flapjack and Hunter to hang out more, gosh I wanted flapjacks death to hurt more. I cried, I was so upset but everything happened so fast, I immediately stopped thinking of Flapjack. I don't know if that's the needed effect, showing how much more happens in this show if it starts with the death of a beloved character, but I wished things were slower. I wish we were able to see the full breakdown and lead up to Hunters hair with willow. I wish we were able to see a scene with them talking about things, I wish I was able to see more of Luz's school and those kids that apparently admired her.

I want to make this clear that I'm not blaming Dana or any of the people creating this show. They are doing such a good job, and I give them my love and support that they managed to have such Major representation in a Disney show. I'm blaming Disney for not giving them enough time for everything. And I hope that inspite of that, their ideas live In fanfiction and fan comics. I want to see hunter struggle with the fact that Belos is inside him. I want to see lumity hanging out. I want to see Camila being the best mom she is. I want to see Vee being the best friend to everyone, specifically Hunter because they both have nothing in the demon world. I love this show, I want more and more of these characters. This is the first episode. I'm both excited and mortified for the 2 more "44-minute specials" that Disney carelessly threw at us. Gosh, that was only 46 minutes? Only about an hour 30 min for the whole season? Screw you, Disney. Stop making marvel movies and shows.

Would a well-educated, savvy, curious, rigidly scientific "just the facts" woman who rarely backs down and takes zero shit from 99% of the population, sound like the type who'd stick it out with some brain-dead fool who can't tell the difference between his ass and a hole in the ground? What, she just tolerates Mulder because he's cute? She continues to willingly place her life and safety in jeopardy, makes sacrifices most of us can never imagine, just because he's the fun kind of crazy and takes her on adventures?

If that's really what you think MSR is, then Mulder's not the only dumb one in that partnership, is he?

And just so we're clear on this: Mulder has never been and will never be a "himbo." Miss me with that shit.

If anything, this drama confirms Buzzfeed must be one of the worst places to work.

It’s one thing for people who use to watch Buzzfeed/Tryguys to comment, because we don’t know these people irl. But so many ex-employees and ex-coworkers show themselves to be a bunch of snakes ready to jump on the clout train saying “ooh we’re not surprised” “ooh we been knew”.

Imagine being Ariel and seeing all these people you knew saying they knew. The highschool mentality never left these people. They’re like the people who cry about being bullied but would’ve jumped at the opportunity to be the bully.

Kristin making jokes about how she’s reconnecting with all her ex-coworkers and Devin talking about “wife guys” shows that Safiya was right to leave Ladylike. Stay classy ladies.

And let’s not forget this person who very much wanted to join the drama by dropping this bomb on Zach but also ensured she put a “oh but remember this happened A BILLION YEARS AGO” like adding the “lol but that’s just my opinion” at the end of a sentence so that if people call her out she can just pretend she might have misremembered and not take responsibility.

Bonus for all the batshit “fans” trying to get gossip and acting nuts on the profiles of people who aren’t even employed with the try guys anymore.

dana terrace knows how fandoms work. she knows if you show ppl even the barest hint of an m/f couple, especially one involving an angsty white boy, ppl will jump on that shit like rabid dogs and itll completely overshadow whatever queer rep you want ppl to actually pay attention to. that’s why she introduced hunter the way she did. first they have an episode where luz gets kissed by a girl and it’s made clear to the audience that they’re on track to be each others love interests. and only then does she introduce hunter’s angsty blond YA love interest looking ass.

and even then they tried SUPER hard to hammer in how much hunter is NOT luz’s love interest. they make luz lean in as if she was going to kiss him and then smack him to show that she isn’t going to. and then they do that thing where hunter licks luz’s hand and luz wipes it on his face. which is something that has been memed to death with siblings. just so the audience immediately understands what kind of dynamic the show wants these two to have. if they skipped any of these steps they were worried the fandom would see luz have a close relationship with a conventionally attractive white boy and start foaming at the mouth for this ship to replace lumity. maybe if disney saw a boy and a girl who aren’t immediately sibling coded they’d also start foaming at the mouth for it to replace lumity. so the crew had to play it safe.

anyway my point is i hope the crew also knows what they’re doing with the huntlow ship. idk what they’re setting up but if the huntlow ship gets together and it’s not wedged between a full 10 minute clip of the raeda wedding and a full 10 minute clip of a sappy slice of life lumity date then every toh related tag is going to be INSUFFERABLE and i hope dana knows it.

For all my anger in regards to Melissa's death, Scully at least got to express her guilt and anger in Piper Maru/Apocrypha. It was rushed, and didn't leave much room for her grief, and of course in other episodes, you wouldn't know her sister died. But, at least it was something. An acknowledgment.

Mulder on the other hand got nothing. His father was shot in his presence. He laid his dead body on the couch. His hands were stained with his father's blood. He desperately called Scully and collapsed upon hearing her voice. This whole scene shows us how deeply traumatizing it is for Mulder. No matter how fucking harsh Bill Mulder was with his son, Mulder still cared deeply for his father. And yet, he doesn't get to express his grief. He doesn't get to feel sad. He doesn't get to break down more than two minutes. The only thing he's allowed to say is ''We've both lost so much''.

This ultimately leads to something that bothers me a lot with the show. The characters (and by that I mean Mulder and Scully) are dealing with so many traumatizing experiences, and you would never know it if you didn't watch all the episodes !! I know I'm only at the beginning of season 7, and I can't actually speak about the whole show, but this makes me so mad. If you're going to put your characters through shit, then at least have the decency to make them deal with it instead of shoving everything under the rug. Because expecting the characters, and the audience by extension, to move on from these experiences without even talking about it is just stupid.

And yes, I know the X-Files is supposed to be about the investigations first but still. Let your characters breathe.

I can’t effectively express my disappointment in the women this season. But I’ll try to anyway. Spoilers for today’s episodes ahead.

Before Casa, Dana could not STOP herself from interrupting MC when she was having any remotely intriguing conversation with someone so she could have a “friend chat”. But now MC has been cheated on AGAIN, denied the opportunity to resolve it, and to top it all off, the woman her ex she was ready to propose to shows up and treats MC like she is somehow to blame??? MC could actually use a friend right about now! But Dana is off giggling and flirting and ignores MC completely.

I was very ready to team up with Gabi and commiserate over how we’d both been wronged, but somehow she’s mad at MC?

You brought up it up, girl! Sorry that you suck.

I’m a reasonable person, though. So I try to reach out like the gracious goddess that I am. And this is what I get.

And then there’s Arlo. She wouldn’t want to fade into the bitchy background, so she rises to the occasion as usual.

Thus concludes another week of disrespecting MC interrupted only by brief unimpressive, generic chat up lines by lackluster LIs. Once again supporting my hypothesis that FB is attempting to troll and punish us. Somebody write a rage fanfic rewrite, stat!!
