#dazai did it happily but never without thinking of chuuya and how they would sit quietly and watch movies or something while dazai braided

while it was never intended to be a thing, i have noticed whenever i write skk interactions, regardless whether it's platonic or romantic, if they hug dazai ends up with his hands in Chuuya's hair, and i think im going to make it a thing whenever i write them
idk im just obsessed with the idea of dazai braiding chuuya's hair, and getting really good at it too probably. but he does it as a coping mechanism kind of? as a distraction. and it helps chuuya calm down or relax when something's wrong.
it got to the point where dazai would braid chuuya's hair to keep it out of the way during missions.
THEN THEY REUNITE AND THE FIRST THING DAZAI DOES IS BRAID CHUUYA'S HAIR.

attractive things bsd men do pt. I
you know there are things men do without being aware that makes them look hot (fixing watch, undoing tie to relax) I will try to add some more~
dazai, ranpo, atsushi
Tumblr media
Dazai Osamu: not averting his eyes from you
You had no idea how you ended up here...
It was 2 in the morning... You were barely keeping your eyes open. And your cute, handsome idiot boyfriend was happily sitting next to you, while you were driving... He was singing along to a song, shouting to be exact...
"Dazai, listen to me... I am not even awake enough to comprehend this shit. But if you think again that... it would be a good idea... to wake me up.. at 2 in the morning... just to drive... god knows whose car... to god knows where... i will make sure that-"
(You couldn't finish your threat. To be honest you didn't know how to finish. You can't use death threats on this man, he would happily accept it...)
"Oh come on darling, don't be like that... I am sure you will love it once we arrive... We even have some good stuff!" He swung two different wine bottles in his hands. You side-eyed him with suspicion
"Did you just take them from torpedo? Dazai please put them back, I am not gonna get drunk at this hour and I am sure the owner of the car wouldn't like that-" You suddenly stopped with the realization
"Dazai please tell me you didn't steal Chuuya's car and wine.."
Dazai smiled innocently "If this is gonna make you feel better, then yeah I didn't steal Chuuya's car or debit card or wine..."
"I-I...HOW DID YOU EVEN TAKE HIS DEBIT CARD? AND FOR WHAT?... You know what, nevermind-"
"And we arrived... Park somewhere, we are going out"
You raised your brows with confusion. There was nothing around you, not even a single building or light source, everywhere was so dark that you couldn't even see a thing. You used your phone flashlight to get out of the car "Dazai, where are we? And what the hell are we going to do in this dark, I can't see anything at all"
Dazai chuckled lightly and pulled you from your waist. He locked his hands behind you loosely "Close your flashlight and look up"
When you did, your eyes widened with the view. Your usual sight of pitch black sky was covered with a blanket of stars that stretched to infinity. They seemed so far yet so close at the same time...
"Dazai... this is...ethereal..." you could only whisper then you turn your gaze to him. He was directly looking into your eyes
"I know..." he said. "...this view is worth it.."
You couldn't help but feel flustered. You were used to Dazai's not averting his eyes from you whenever he was with you, he was always looking at your eyes like he was studying what lays beneath them. But you have never felt this aware of them until now...
"..thank you" you murmured while wrapping your arms around his bandaged neck
He responded with a kiss which could mean a lot of things...
Tumblr media
Edogawa Ranpo: being aware of his surroundings and acting thoughtful
"Y/N, I am getting tired~..." Ranpo whined again for the 4th time in the last 15 minutes. You sighed. Taking care of all minors of Ada at the same time would be easier than accompanying your man-child boyfriend to the crime scene, you were sure about that...
"Okay, honey... Let's take a break here" You stopped inside the park you were walking in and put your bag on the bank near you.
Your boyfriend cheered with excitement and lay on the bank as if he walked for miles. You looked around and saw a convenience store.
"I will go and grab some water for us. You can wait here.." Ranpo only raised his thumb, he didn't even get up from the bank he was laying
Not even after 5 minutes, you were coming back with water bottles in your hand. You almost dropped the bottles with what you just saw. Your boyfriend was hugging so cheerfully with a young woman. When Ranpo saw you, he waved his hand with excitement "Y/N look who I found! It has been so long that I haven't met with Hanako, my best friend!"
You frowned. You were sure that Ranpo didn't have any friends but Ada members and Poe... Before you say anything, Ranpo kept on rambling. And they started to tell you stories that you weren't involved at all... You couldn't help but feel bad when you got left-out by your own boyfriend...
After 10 minutes that passed like hell for you, Ranpo suddenly turned his head somewhere, only to remove his hand from Hanako's shoulders "I believe they left, you are safe now miss..." Before you could comprehend those words, the girl started to bow and thanking "I don't know how to thank you, you saved me from that creep-.." and she turned to you this time, only to bow again "I am so grateful for you too, thanks for your cover, I am saved..."
"It's okay... Here, this is our agency's number" Ranpo pulled out the agency's card from his pocket "If he or any other thing bothers you again, you can call us to get help..."
After she left, you looked at your boyfriend with your mouth agape. Ranpo looked at you and sighed "You really didn't notice the creep who was following that woman? He was probably gonna follow her to her house but he left after seeing she wasn't alone... Well, I guess being an amazing detective is not that easy-..." You shut him up by giving a peck to his lips "You are an amazing detective Ranpo.. and an amazing man..."
Tumblr media
Nakajima Atsushi: putting his hand on your waist to guide
You looked at the little memo on your hand. You were near to the address Ranpo gave you, as the smooth detective he was, he had already solved the mystery behind the case and sent you there to find the evidence.
As you were getting nearer, you couldn't help but feel uneasy. You always knew Yokohama was not the safest city. Other than the port mafia, there were a lot of gangs, criminals, and sins between these slums...
You could feel the gazes on you while you kept walking. When you sensed some people started to follow you, you couldn't help but sigh. You definitely were strong enough to defend yourself from a bunch of bandits but you would wish to avoid as much as possible... All you want was quickly finish your job, return to the office, and write your report.
"Y/N!.." You turn your back only to meet with Atsushi and you smiled brightly. It felt nice to see a familiar face in that gloomy street, you waved your hand with excitement to greet him.
Atsushi waved you back and then looked around him shortly. A frown appeared between his eyebrows, he gave a cold stare to the suspicious types who have been following you. You couldn't help but to smile to yourself, seeing your cute coworker could make a face like that was something else...
Atsushi came close to you and asked for the address. After you showed him the memo, he smiled sweetly at you "You are very close to finding it! May I accompany you, then we can return to the office together?"
You couldn't say no, him accompanying you might have suspend the others... "Of course, let's go!" you said.
While you were walking he started to ask questions about the details, and you started to explain the case to him. While you doing that, you felt a light touch on your back first, then that light touch became a light hold around your waist. You slightly checked the fingers on your waist and looked at him. Atsushi was acting like he did nothing "..and then?" he asked while guiding you with his hand to take a turn...
You couldn't help but feel a little abashed yet you didn't say anything. You felt safe and protected and you appreciated him for that. Maybe he would do the same thing when you were going back? (but God forbid if Dazai saw you like that...)

I Loved You then, I Love You Now And I Will Love You Forever(A Chuuya x Reader Oneshot)
Tumblr media
“Y/n...”, he whispers. Y/n couldn’t move. It’s been so long since she’s seen him. Four years really makes a difference. “Chuuya...”
~~~~~~~
Flashback
“Oh Y/n!”, Dazai calls to her. Y/n turns around to see her closest friend. “Hello, Dazai!”, she tells out to him. He comes up to her pats her head. “How’s my bestie doing today?” “Ha! Who lied to you and told you that I’m your bestie?” Dazai fake gasps, “Y/n! You hurt me so much. Chuuya’s annoying, disrespectful habits are influencing you. I can’t believe it.” Y/n laughs.
Chuuya and Y/n were together for two years already. Since he first joined the Mafia, they clicked instantly. They annoyed each other at first, but after talking and getting to know one another, Chuuya and Y/n really fell in love with each other. Mori teases them, telling them how could love exist at such a mere age of 17. But when it felt this good and felt so right, it was bound to.
“Oi, doofus. What are you doing with my girl?”, Chuuya comes into the lounge and sits next to Y/n. “Ugh, fuck off, Chuuya. I was just speaking to her.”, Dazai scoffs. Y/n giggles and looks to Chuuya. “Hi, honey.” “Hi, my love.” He moves in and pecks her lips. Life was...good to say the least. Well it was the Mafia, the most dangerous job you could be in, but it was exciting. To live a life filled with adrenaline.
“Hey guys. What are we talking about?”, Oda comes and sits next to Dazai. “Why Chuuya is being an ass.”, Dazai says happily to Oda. “You wanna go, dumbass?”, Chuuya threatens. “Come at me, shorty.”, Dazai responds. “Oh my god, you two. Can you just get along? Please.”, Y/n looks to Chuuya with her best puppy eyes, “For me?” Chuuya scoffs. “He started it.” “Chuu..” “Fine.” She looks to Dazai. “Dazai?” “Anything for you, Y/n.”
Everyone was happy. Until...Oda’s death. Then everything went downhill from there. Dazai lost himself and all Y/n could do was watch her closest friend fall apart. It hurt. Oda was like her bigger brother. He was just..too good for this world. Y/n tried talking to Dazai. Now, she walks up to his room door and knocks. “Dazai..it’s me. I’m coming in, okay?”, she says and opens the door and what she sees breaks her. Dazai had his bandages out and there was blood everywhere. On his clothes, his hands. And his tears mixed with his sorrow. “Dazai...”, she calls out to him while her tears fall. She sits next to him and hugs him. He was so stiff. He was so...broken. He hadn’t come out of his room for a full three days since Oda. And it looked like he hadn’t showered or taken care of himself. “Dazai. I miss him, too. I loved him too. Talk to me. We can get through this, together.”, she says to him in between cries.
“I’m leaving.”
He simply says. Y/n widens her eyes and looks at him. “What?” “I’m leaving. Tomorrow.”, he whispers to her. Y/n is confused. Leaving? “Where would you go?”, she asks him. He shrugs his shoulders. “I’m leaving and I want you to come with me.”, he simply says. Y/n’s breath hitches. “Wha-What?” “I’m not saying it again, Y/n. Come with me or stay here, murdering people with no reason.” Dazai says while wipping his face. Y/n stays quiet.
“What about Mori? He’d catch us.”, Y/n tries to reason with him. “What about...Chuuya?” “Fuck them. I don’t give a shit anymore. I’m leaving, Y/n. That’s it. I’m done with all of this killing. Oda wouldn’t want it.”, he whispers the last part but Y/n catches it. Oda told him to leave? But it was true. This Mafia phase had run its course. On one hand, Y/n didn’t want to leave without Chuuya and on the other, she couldn’t leave Dazai.
“Ok. We’ll go.”
So they left. With no trace, no warning. Just disappeared into the city. Chuuya was devastated. He wondered if she cheated on him, but that thought was thrown off the table when he realized that Dazai was never interested in Y/n. So why...why would she leave him? If she only told him why she left, he would’ve understood. But not even an explanation..that pissed him off. However, he couldn’t be angry with her. No matter how much he tried, he still loved her. He hopes that wherever Dazai took her that he would take care of her and keep her safe.
~~~~~~~
Chuuya was now in front of the girl who he fell in love with at 15. She looked...so beautiful. Now that she was 22, she was more mature and elegant.
Y/n stared at him and chuckles. God, he looked amazing. “Being a Mafia executive suits you.”, she sniffs out. “Where have you been? I’ve searched everywhere for you.” Chuuya tells her. “We had to leave, Chuuya. After Oda, we finally realized what were the important things. Saving people.” “I wasn’t important?” Y/n widens her eyes at his question.
“Was I that much of a pain that you couldn’t even tell me you were leaving? Why? Why didn’t you tell me?”, Chuuya steps towards her. “No, Chuu. You weren’t a pain. Don’t say that. It was so sudden. Dazai needed-..” “Fuck Dazai.”, he suddenly interrupts her. “I want to know why you, Y/n, left me alone. Give me your answer, not his.” Y/n sighs.
“I couldn’t leave him, Chuuya. He needed me. I wasn’t prepared to leave him when I don’t know what he would do to himself. I didn’t choose him over you. I didn’t have a choice. It broke me leaving you. It killed me.”, Y/n breathes out. Chuuya looks at her with tears threatening to fall from his ocean eyes. “Do..”, she starts again, “do you hate me?” She asks him. That question made his eyes widen and his legs move to her.
Within seconds she was in his arms again. He smelled amazing. It was musky with a hint of cigarettes and wine. He wasn’t skinny anymore. He was lean and a bit bigger. He felt like home.
“No. Never. I loved you then, I love you now and I will love you forever. Don’t ever think that I hate you, Y/n.”, he whispers into her shoulder while his hand grips her hair. Y/n sighs and hugs him back. “I love you, Chuu. I never stopped. I’m so sorry I left you. I’m so fucking sorry.”, she cries into him. “Shhh. It’s okay now. We’re together again. That’s all that matters.”
“Oh for the love of suicide, why did we have to bump into you out of all people?”, Dazai rolls his eyes at the scene. Y/n chuckles and looks at Chuuya. He smiles at her and wipes her tears before turning to Dazai.
“Shut up, you idiot”

Hellooo! I really loved the one with the drunk reader who doesent regonize the boys, can i please have the same headcannons for atsushi, akutagawa, mori and fukuzawa? (I hope 4 charackters are not to much) I looove your writting so much and I hope you are doing good!
Oh thank you so so much for reading! I’m struggling a lot right now but I’m trying to get back on my feet and pick up my writing again! I hope your doing well anon and I’m sorry this took so long 💕💕
Akutagawa, Atsushi, Fukuzawa, and Mori with a drunk F!reader
Tumblr media
Akutagawa
꧂ poor aku left you alone with chuuya for 10 minutes. ONLY 10 WHOLE MINUTES and he came back to a drunk Y/N.
꧂ Chuuya had only offered you a glass of wine with him, that then turned into a game of seeing who could drink the most in under a few minutes. So in reality akutagawa came back to a drunk Y/N and a drunk chuuya
꧂ you were giggling uncontrollably, even spilling wine all over the place. Aku decided that was enough and you needed to go home before you start throwing up everywhere like you usually did
꧂ he placed a hand on your shoulder and took the glass out of your hand, “I swear you act like a child everytime I leave you two alone-“
꧂ “whooo the hell do you think you arrre? Give me that back you ass your not mmmmy boyfriend”
꧂ he twisted his head and confusion. You two had been together for 3 years already and you never mentioned anything about breaking up. So that meant that you were so drunk off your ass that you couldn’t even recognize your own Boyfriend. I mean yeah he didn’t have his coat on but that shouldn’t make him any less recognizable. He was gonna speak up until your blabbering interrupted him again
꧂ “I have a boyfriend thank you very much! He’s a lot more intimidatinnnnng than you and he’s much more handsome. He acts all hard and mighty but on the inside he’s such a little baby” you slurred. And then chuuya’s drunk self chimed in
꧂ “yeah fuck off you skinny asshole, I’m here to make sure she’s gonna be okay.. she’s not some kind of two faced bitch” he yelled. As you shouted a ‘yeah’ really loud, akutagawa slipped on his coat as quietly as he could before coming back into your view
꧂ both you and chuuya lit up instantly and laughed. “aku my love!!! Have a drink with us!!” You happily shouted before handing him a glass. He pinched the bridge of his nose before setting it back down on the table and taking your hand in his “no. Y/N you’ve had enough for tonight. I can’t even leave you alone with these fools without you getting yourself in trouble-“
꧂ “heeey your not my dad let me liiiive. Aku no I’m not going. Leave me alone! I said nnnnNNO”
꧂ in the end he had to use rashoumon to restrain you until you got home safely
Tumblr media
Atsushi
꧂ it was at a party the ADA decided to throw in celebration for your birthday where Dazai decided to share too many shots with you
꧂ so everyone dressed nicely. Suits, party dresses, etc. Atsushi has come back from bringing you your gifts when he noticed your face was flushed and you were kind of swaying in your chair. Dazai mimicking the same actions next to you
꧂ Atsushi knee that you were definitely drunk but he wasn’t going to tell you anything since it was your birthday. He smiled and walked over to give you your gift and you instantly went into defense mode
꧂ “who are you and what are youuu doing here? What’s that? Is this annnnn attack on the ADA?? Try me BITCH!!!”
꧂ Atsushi started to freak out. We’re you talking to him??? Everyone else looked around in confusion as you started throwing sloppy punches and kicks at Atsushi. Dazai, being just as drunk as you were, joined in. So now you both were stumbling around giggling and ‘fighting’
꧂ “back off bitch I’ll get my boyfriend! He’s gonna beat your ass because he’s stronnng”
꧂ “Y/N I am your boyfriend! I’m Atsushi?!”
꧂ “your not my Atsushi, my Atsushi is handsome and loving and he would never try and hurt the ADA unnnlike you! You white haired son of a bitch”
꧂ Atsushi sighed as he continued to dodge your punches. Everyone thought it was pretty amusing so they didn’t bother stepping in to try and stop either you or Dazai. That’s when Dazai has snuck around Atsushi and grabbed him underneath his arms and held him in place “got him Y/N!!”
꧂ somehow Atsushi managed to escape from Dazai’s grasp and dart out of the room before either of you could activate your abilities. He came back 30 minutes later in his regular cloths hoping that maybe you’d recognize him now
꧂ “Atsushi honey be carefuuuull some asshole was trying to attack us, but don’t worry I’ll protect you,” you said before enveloping you in a big hug and patting his head.
꧂ everyone in the ADA snickered and atsushi promised to keep a better eye on you when you decided to drink.
Tumblr media
Fukuzawa
꧂ This was at a party the ADA threw after the fight with the guild
꧂everyone was in formal wear, even fukuzawa who chose to match your flows olive green dress. He instead wore a suit instead of his signature Yukata and you wore a floor length dress with a sheer Shaw over your shoulders
꧂ you are a grown woman, he shouldn’t have to tell you that maybe 4 bottles of sake was too much for you to handle. Yet here you are about to start your fifth one with ranpo before fukuzawa snatched it out of your hand
꧂ “Y/N I don’t need you getting yourself sick or having me clean up your vomit in about an hour, that’s enough for you tonight”
꧂ you turned around and faced him with the most terrifying glare anyone had ever seen. The anger practically radiated off your body in massive waves that it even scared ranpo a little
꧂ “who the fuck are you? And who gave you the right to talk to me like that??”
꧂ ranpo even started sweating a little. He basically viewed both you and your husband as parental figures so he knew how scary you could be when you unleashed your wrath
꧂ fukuzawa pinched the bridge of his nose, knowing damn well you were going to make a scene
꧂ “DONT make me get my husband, actually you know what? I don’t need to get him. I’ll fucking take you down myself you motherfucker,” you said through gritted teeth
꧂ “Y/N please sit down-“
꧂ “how do you know my name? Who are you..? Are you here to hurt my husband like that other asshole? Try me bitch, I’ll protect him evennnn if it kills me! Ranpo darling help me please”
꧂ ranpo didn’t help you. In the end all you managed to do was land a sloppy punch to fukuzawas shoulder before he literally threw you over his shoulder and carried you out of the room
꧂ you protested and shouted, making everyone else in the room laugh at your drunken state
꧂ you managed to further embarrass yourself when you threw up on fukuzawas back-
꧂ long story short- anytime the ADA threw parties you were not aloud to have a single drop of alcohol unless fukuzawa was by your side
Tumblr media
Mori
꧂ you loved drinking with mori. You loved tasting many fine and expensive wines and mixed drinks with him like it was a hobby. So he wasn’t exactly surprised when he found you trying to shove large gulps of wine down chuuyas throat when he came back from shopping with Elise
꧂ so he was wearing simple clothing and Elise stood next to him in her brand new sparky dress
꧂ “boss please help I think she’s trying to kill me-“
꧂ “Elise sweetheaaaaart you look so adorable in your dress!! Who is that man next to you? Is he trying to hurt you?!?”
꧂ you quickly stumbled over to Elise and picked her up, holding her protectively to your side, “who are you? Where’s mori??”
꧂ all while this was happening chuuya was in the back gasping for air on the floor and mori watched the scene in front of him play out. You were drunk, chuuya was probably over exaggerating, Elise had the biggest shit eating grin on her face, and you currently didn’t understand that your husband was standing right in front of you
꧂ “Elise honey I’ll protect you, I won’t let this bad man hurt you anymore,” you said as you hugged her to your chest tightly “I’ll make sure no one ever lays a finger on you again!”
꧂ “Y/N darling it’s me-“
꧂ “back off you imposter!! I’ll make sure you have a slow painful death when my husband gets here” you shouted before taking off down the hallway with Elise still in your arms. Elise turned and stuck her tongue out at mori before she disappeared into the darkness
꧂ mori found you passed out on the couch back at your shared home. How you managed to get home by yourself heavily intoxicated amazed and confused him for days but he still made sure you didn’t hurt yourself. You apologized to him before hurling up the contents of your stomach on the floor
꧂ when he told you about your little incident the next day you told him that you’d never drink again. And that you’d apologize to chuuya when you saw him next
꧂ well that promise went right out the window, because not even 5 hours later you were drunk again running around the port mafia base with Elise as mori watched through the cameras

A K U T A G A W A
“If you ever return her to me in less than perfect condition again...Well, Y/N, wouldn’t really appreciate me finishing that statement. Just don’t let it happen again. Understood?” The seriousness that his face illustrated was even more frightening than the inflection in his voice. The two friends nodded in agreement, unable to muster up the words and courage to apologize again. Furthermore, they thought it might be better to not say anything at all at this point. Which is why after a few awkward seconds they began to back away slowly before scurrying down the porch, almost tripping over each other to get back in their car. Aku could hardly hide his chuckle as he turned to enter the house where he could hear you fumbling around in the kitchen. “Now, what am I supposed to do with you?” He muttered to himself, amusement flitting to his face. “I’m so hungry.” You pouted, arms crossed, lip jutted out. “Did your mean friends not even feed you?” Aku inquired, beginning to pull out a pan and fill it with water. “No. They took me straight home. They knew you’d probably be mad and they didn’t want to make matters worse by getting me home later. I think they’re frightened by you.” Akutagawa couldn’t help but to smirk at this, turning the heat on the stove as he began to prepare your very late dinner. “Smart friends. How does ramen sound? The carbs will be good for you, soak up some of that alcohol.” Aku explained, biting his lip to avoid the smile that was fighting it’s way through. You had curled yourself around his backside, your arms wrapping tight around his waist. He could feel your warm cheek pressing to his shoulder blade, your hot breath sending internal shivers down his spine. He was so thankful you couldn’t hear his thoughts, let alone see his face; he was completely smitten by you and it was particularly hard to control when you were acting like this. “Mmmm. Sounds good. Though, Aku, would you mind giving me a kiss first please?” He rolled his eyes, but smiled nonetheless. Sober Y/N was never this forward. “Of course,” Turning around to embrace you in a tight hug, he leaned down and brushed his lips against yours, electricity shooting all over his body in an invigorating frenzy. Your hands found their way to knot in his hair, his hands slipping to your lower back. Unlike most of your kisses that were typically very controlled and romantic, this one was wild and unpredictable. He almost let out a moan when you bit down on his lip, granting entrance for his tongue, your hand trailing down his chest slowly...“That’s enough for now.” Aku breathed, trying to recover from the whirlwind his head was currently in. “Woah,” you agreed, almost losing your footing as you stumbled backward. Aku was just in time to catch you in his arms, steadying you before leading you to a bar stool, forcing you to sit and rest. As he cooked your food, he couldn’t help but to thank the lucky stars that he could do this; that he could take care of you and be a good partner. It was a great feeling for him, being able to do this, knowing that he could be there for you when you needed. That is until he looked up and noticed you had already passed out there, head slumped in your arms. “You drunk little fox,” were his last words before draping a blanket over your shoulders while he finished cooking.

“Careful, my love.” Dazai chided softly, his arms reaching to steady you after he threw an oversize t-shirt on the bed for you, as you fumbled to get your heels off. “Allow me,” He smiled politely, lifting you gracefully so that you were sitting promptly on the bed now. You both had just gotten home from a celebration party with the agency and you had ingested one too many glasses of champagne. “There you go,” He sighed, chucking your shoes behind him before massaging your swollen ankles. He never really understood why you wore such poor choices in shoes when they hurt you the way they did, but he couldn’t deny how irresistible your legs looked when you wore them. Then again, you looked irresistible all of the time to him. “Dazaiiiiiiiii, help!” you whined, scratching at your back trying to unzip your own dress. It took Dazai a moment to pick up on your endeavors, the soft kisses he was peppering on your ankles halting. “Of course, yes.” Dazai obliged, scurrying from the ground to join you on the bed. Slowly unzipping the back of your dress, Dazai tried his best to be a perfect gentlemen, failing miserably as he took in your nude back, clad in only your matching bra and panty set, lust twinkling in his eyes. He swallowed the lump in his throat, letting out an exhale as he stared at the ceiling desperately trying to distract himself. ‘She’s drunk, she’s drunk, she’s drunk’, Dazai chanted to himself internally, trying his best not to touch what he so badly wanted to. “Much better.” You stated, standing to your feet, allowing the dress to drop around your ankles, leaving you nude right before his eyes. “Yes, indeed.” He bit his lip, his brain clouded when you walked over to him on the bed and straddled him. Fingers running through his shaggy locks, you leaned in and began to kiss him on the mouth with vehemence and passion. Dazai was shocked at your newfound confident nature, but wasn’t about to argue it as he reciprocated with the same fire and energy. Arms wrapping around your waist, he pulled you even closer deepening the kiss as he slipped his tongue in your mouth while you were attempting to catch your own breath. Untangling your fingers from his hair, your hands reached to unclaspe your bra clumsily. That’s when it all clicked for him. His head had been so full of excitement, that it took him a quick second to remember what was really happening. He could taste the alcohol on your breath, see the disconnect in your eyes; you weren’t all there. This was wrong. “Belladonna, I love you and I typically love when you try to undress yourself, but this isn’t right. You’re not all here at the moment unfortunately and I can’t in good concience do anything with you without your full, sober consent.” He spoke slowly so you would understand, but you only let out a huge puff of unsastisfied air in response. “This is me giving you my consent,” You leaned in for a kiss, but Dazai intercepted kissing your forehead instead, forcing your arms up as he tugged the oversized t-shirt over your head. “Y/N. You know we can’t.” Dazai reasoned, pulling the covers back as he pat the open space beside him. “But I can hold you until you fall asleep? How does that sound?” His words were like melting honey. How could you deny that even if you were drunk? You were never one to turn down Dazai cuddles. Collapsing against his chest, you let out a small ‘hmph’ in a disatisfied pout, trying to ignore how good his arms felt around your body. “I know I’m no fun, but I love you very much.” He said after a moment. You had attempted to say it back, but the drunkness was already taking over and you were already growing very tired. He laughed at your attempt nonetheless and smoothed your hair back lovingly. “You sure are a riot when you drink.” Were his last words before allowing him to fall asleep with you happily in his arms.
-
C H U U Y A
You had gone completely silent. Chuuya thought you had simply fallen asleep because typically car rides did that for you when you were drunk. Furthermore, he didn’t think much of it. That is until he heard the sniffling. And the fidgeting. And the ragged breathing. “Y/F/N.” He would say calmly, sneaking a glance over your way. He could already tell just by looking at you that you were trying to hide your face from him. You were an emotional drunk and you were definitely crying. “Y/N. Look at me,” He would demand, grabbing your hand in his and kissing your knuckles gently. Chuuya had witnessed this on so many occasions that he had grown desensitized to your overdramatic actions while under the influence. In fact, it was one of his favorite things to talk and joke about the next day because he knew it was simply just the alcohol taking its toll. That didn’t mean, however, he still wasn’t going to bust his ass to at least try and cheer you up. Your smile was priceless to him after all. “Baby, why are you crying?” He would sigh as you finally peaked at him through your hair. “Because I just-I just-I just love you so much, Chuuya!” You would gasp in between hysterical sobs, your crying becoming progressively louder as you threw your fists over your eyes. “You don’t even know how hot you are, it’s awful. I just want to kiss your stupid face all of the time.” You wailed miserably. Chuuya was quiet for a moment and then suddenly he broke out into a loud guffaw. Were you seriously crying over how much you loved him? And how hot you thought he was? Oh, how he was going to LOVE to remind you of this in the morning. Mortified wouldn’t even begin to touch on it. “And now you’re-you’re laughing at me! Do you not love me back anymore? That would suck a lot.” This made him laugh even harder, though he was making a genuine effort to calm down to comfort you even if you were being ridiculous. “My sweet, silly, beautiful girl. If only you knew how much I really loved you. Words cannot even begin to make a dent on the love I have for your very drunken self.” The car came to a halt as he pulled up to your shared apartment, turning to look at you with complete sincerity. “Why are you laughing then?” You would ask timidly, your tears now drying against your puffy cheeks. “Because It’s funny to me that you would even have to consider asking me if I still love you. I will always love you till my last breath and so on. Of course, I love you. I’ll scream it and wake up the entire neighbor hood if you want me to,” He offered opening his car door and slamming it before coming to the passenger side to get you. When you didn’t budge, he cocked his head to the side in confusion. “Well, aren’t you going to tell the neighbors?” He rolled his eyes, lifting up your unwiling body as he kicked the door shut with his foot. Oh, how he loved his very stubborn girlfriend. “I really do love you Y/N. More than I’ve ever loved anything in my life.” He soothed you, kissing the space in between your eyes as he walked you through the threshold of your apartment. “I love you Chuuya.”

Hello! Could I please request head cannons for young Dazai, Chuuya, akutagawa and anyone else you like not knowing what menstruation is and while on a mission with their S/O they get separated and find them in an ally, doubled over in pain and bleeding. -sorry that it's weird
//Not weird at all my love! I think I went a lil over board though haha.
Tumblr media
Osamu Dazai
It happened when you and Dazai were about 16 years old.
Dazai was struggling with Chuuya’s mere existence in the Port Mafia and he was almost completely swamped with world lately.
Usually he’d try dodge the work but you had forced him to remain in his office and finish a sufficient amount before he was allowed to come back out.
During the few days this took, you were supposed to have your period... only it was late.
Cue mini heart attack because you and your boyfriend were very much sexually active, not to mention, you didn’t like playing it safe all the time, sooooo...
A few days later, you still had yet to see any signs but you were beginning to experience cramps, so that was a potentially good sign.
You weren’t completely panicked about the lateness of course. You knew this stuff happened at times and with your lifestyle, no shit it would happen.
That night however, you had just gotten into the shower when your phone started ringing.
You reached out of the shower and answered the call, putting them on speaker.
As you listened to what they had to say, you washed away the dirt and grime on your body while keeping you eyes on the small device.
“I’ll be right there sir. Do not engage the target until I get there. Am I understood?”
During this, you neglected to notice the red tinted water swirling down the drain until it was gone.
Still confident that you were fine, you popped a painkiller for good measure and got dressed, rushing to the scene where you were needed.
From there, things had become chaotic.
Bullets were flying and you were barking orders while Dazai worked on things from the other end. It was supposed to have been a quick engagement, take out some guards, get the info and leave. Only things took a dangerous turn when ten guards turned into fifty and you were severely out numbered.
The dust settled and most of the Port Mafia was still standing. Dazai came out, chucking a driveto someone before looking around for you. Where were you?
“Where is (Y/N)?”
When no one gave him an answer, he looked around again.
You weren’t amongst the bodies so you had to be there somewhere. So he searched.
He almost walked past you, right part you had it not been for a low groan passing your lips that he craved for oh so often.
During the battle, despite the pills you had taken earlier, you had felt a sharp, unholy pain in your abdomen.
You ignored it at first, but it became all that more fierce the longer you pretended it wasn’t happening and eventually, you had to duck away into an alleyway, where you proceeded to throw up your dinner from the pain.
After that you remained curled up on the ground, in a somewhat crouched position, waiting for the chance to finally stand up and get back out there. That moment didn’t come soon enough it seems.
When Dazai saw you curled up like that, he thought for sure that you had been shot. He came to your side, setting a hand on your back.
“(Y/N)? Have you been shot?” He asked, trying to encourage you to sit up so he could see.
That’s when the strong smell of iron hit him.
“You’re bleeding. Where? Show me damnit.”
You refused to uncurl now, more so from embarrassment than pain now. There was no way out of this situation was there?
You shook your head no and carefully uncurled, standing up but keeping your thighs firmly together.
“I wasn’t shot. Let’s just go.”
You started to head towards the end of the alleyway but another wave of pain sent you crouching down again.
This time, despite the shitty lighting, Dazai could see the darker patch of black on your pants and he stepped forward again, grabbing you by the arm, pulling you back up.
“Tell me what haopened. We need to get you help.”
He’d insist that he carry you back and get you help but you kept refusing, frustrating him to the point where he’d try to grab you anyway but you would duck away.
“I’m on my period idiot! That’s why I’m bleeding, now back off,” you’d finally hiss in annoyance.
There would be a moment of awkward silence. On your part because this was embarrassing and on his part because he was trying to remember what a period was.
When his mouth parted in an ‘oh’ fashion, you knew he finally got it.
You couldn’t blame him for not knowing what a period was. He was a young boy, surrounded mostly by men, with a very different upbringing than most other boys.
Like a switch though, he was from serious to his usual, silly self.
“Oh, ew, right. Let’s get back then shall we?”
He was still a little panicked inside because he didn’t completely understand but was better once he saw you again later in a much better condition.
Cue a few days passing and his curiousity getting the better of him.
“Hey Boss... What’s a period?”
Tumblr media
Chuuya Nakahara
How was such a terrifying experience turned into an incredibly embarrassing one you ask? Well, let me tell you.
To start, you had no idea what Chuuya did in his spare time. You knew he had friends as they constantly came by to drag him away to do whatever. They wore matching arm bands too su=o surely that meant something to him.
One day the band was gone though and he suddenly didn’t have as much time as before.
He told you that his mother had caught him skipping school so she was now him schooling him to make sure he got somewhere in life.
That being said, you had no reason to question him.
The important thing in the end, was that he still managed to make time for you.
After school, you’d walk out and there he would be, leaning again the main gates, waiting for you.
Your friends constantly complained about how they wanted such a committed boyfriend and it made you feel great.
Today was a weekend however, meaning he was going to be picking you up from your house instead.
You were a little unsure about this weekend, considering you were on your period but you’d never had any problems before so you went for it.
You styled your hair and slipped on a nice white dress- mistake number one- before saying bye to your guardian and headed out to meet Chuuya out the front.
Today he was taking you to a small cafe, a harmless little plac that allowed the two of you to have the kind of date you’d been lacking the last few weeks.
You both ordered your drinks and something to eat, bouncing back and forth in conversation between each other happily.
Early on during the date, he also made it Lear that he was going to pay for everything- which led you to wonder where he was getting the money from. Did he find a part time job? That would explain why he had less time to come out.
Everything was going smoothly until something small wizzed past, right between the two of you, embedding itself in the wall on the other side of you.
You looked at it with wide eyes while Chuuya was jumping over the table, pushing you down to the floor yelling, “Get down!”
Just on time, a barrage of bullets came flying in your direction.
With little shelter from the attach, Chuuya shielded your body from the bullet.
“You need to move with me.”
Despite your fear, you ended up running with him, trying to stay down as much as possible while he protected you.
Eventually shoving you into an alleyway, you discovered how Chuuya wasn’t dead yet. He had an ability. He sent to bullets flying back to where they came from.
He gave you a very brief order to stay put before running off, much to your dismay.
You didn’t know how long you were sitting there, but it was long enough for crippling cramps to disturb the tiny amount of peace you had left.
Curling in on yourself nice and tight to try will away the pain, you didn’t notice it was all over until you heard Chuuya’s voice again.
“Hey, are you okay (Y/N)?”
You looked up at him with teary eyes but still heals yourself tightly. You didn’t know what to say to him. How do you answer that after what just happened?
He looked you over himself and at first, he thought you were okay until he saw the red on your dress. That wasn’t there before...
“You’re bleeding!”
Eyes widening, you jumped up and pressed yourself against the wall to hide it the best you could. It hurt to stand but you didn’t want to go through this right now.
“No I’m not Chuuya. I’m fine. I’d like to go home now if that’s okay...”
You were too in shock to actually process the fact that people were just trying to kill you both. Or just him?
“No, you’re bleeding, I saw the blood on your dress. Just let me see.”
“Don’t come any closer Chuuya!”
He would step back a little in shock at your outburst. He couldn’t blame you really.
Seeing he needed an explaination, you sucked in a deep breath and told him without making eye contact.
“I’m on my period.’
“... What the fuck is that?”
Cue your jaw dropping to the ground in disbelief.
Seriously?
“Really?
Some of those old friends of his were women!
He has a mother! Or does he...
“Just give me your jacket and take me home.”
Tumblr media
Ryuunosuke Akutagawa
Periods weren’t completely foreign to Akutagawa. He has a younger sister after all.
However, this doesn’t mean he’s comfortable with it by any means.
He’ll help his sister if need be but if she doesn’t need help, he doesn’t want to know about it.
Same goes for you.
He’ll give you a hand with something if you really need it but he doesn’t want to know you’re on it.
That being said, he had no idea you were on your period when you were out on a mission.
As embarrassing as it was, you were actually on a pan/tampon run when you got called in.
With nothing but toilet paper protecting your clothes from your current unholy condition, you rushed to the scene.
It was supposed to be your day off too, so you were in much brighter clothes than usual, instead of the dark clothing you would usually wear in association with the Port Mafia.
You and Akutagawa were side by side, working together as much as you could to do what had to be done.
The building you were in was a completely maze, so, you split up.
It was as you were searching, that you encountered your tasrget’s thugs.
Bullets were flying, bouncing off the walls and making a hell of a noise that echoes throughout the place.
Despite the dull ache in your absorbent, you did all you could to fend them off.
When all were on the ground, you clutched your mid-section and dropped to the floor in pain, letting out a small whine of pain.
You were well out of your comfort zone. Your period, wrong clothing, very little to protect your clothing from your own blood... This wasn’t ideal.
You then heard the click of a gun, the barrel being pressed to your head. One of the men had been faking defeat.
Eyes wide and seeing no escape, you braced yourself for the worst, only for nothing to happen a moment later.
Looking up, you saw the man hanging in the air, a black tendril impaling his chest with an almost red electricity buzzing around it.
“Rashomon...”
The man dropped to the ground as the young man behind you let out a few small coughs.
“Have you been shot?”
“No.”
“Then why are you bleeding?”
The two of you would have realised it at the same time. You’re would have jumped to you feet and turned around the hide the stain on your pants and his face would be turning red.
“Just go home.”
“Akutagawa, you know I can’t do that.”
“I said go home. I’ve got this- take care of... that.”
Despite his insistence though... you weren’t allowed to just leave like that, meaning the air was thick with awkward tension for a good while.
At least you could both say you suddenly became more determined to finish the mission faster,

ship: odazai, kunikidazai
genre: angst with a bittersweet ending
prompt: dazai slowly learns to deal with feelings
notes:  i actually got really pissed that people kept saying fake deep shit about soukoku and throwing just about everything odasaku did for dazai away so then i decided to. write this odasaku did not die just for yall to say chuuya is the reason dazai decided not to kill himself. also thank you to mushroom mother by pinocchiop for the inspiration
It was easy to categorize at first, Oda and Dazai's relationship.
Dazai had never had any attachments, and Odasaku wasn't going to change that.
He had never had any friends, lovers, parental figures, ect.
There was no point in having them, anyway, because in the end, they would die.
They always did.
Dazai would live and die as a Port Mafia executive, and the only ones to remember his name would be government officials.
And he was fine with that. He couldn't change it anyway.
At least, he was pretty sure he couldn't…
--
"Don't tell me you actually like that guy," Ango said while they sat at the bar, sipping at a rum and coke.
"Well, I don't know," Dazai answered, scratching at the bandage over his eye, "He makes me happy, though I suppose a friend could do that too… I don't think it matters anyway, it's not like we can really have any sort of relationship."
"You're a strange one, Dazai."
"I'm fully aware," answered Dazai as he passed his drink but the bartender, "Did you put cyanide in this like I asked?"
The bartender nods his head, "You ask every single time, no, I will not put cyanide in your drink."
Dazai sighed, taking the glass into his hand, "I guess that's fine… Ango, tell me something."
Ango looks back at Dazai, fixing his glasses, "Yes?"
"Would you care if I died?"
The bar falls silent as the brunette awaits Ango's response, watching him swirl the drink around in his hands.
"To be honest, I don't think so. You are a good friend, less of a friend and even more of a good silence filler. But, I don't think I value our relationship enough to really miss you."
Dazai's lips curve up into a slight smile.
"I thought you'd say that."
--
"Hey, Odasaku!"
The reddish-brown haired man turned around from his place in the parking lot, looking back at Dazai as he waved him down with his free hand. Dazai rushed up to him, struggling to keep his jacket on with one broken arm, but he managed.
His apprentice was rather rough with him during this last training session, not that Dazai minded.
He just wished Akutagawa would kill him already.
"Hey, I haven't seen you in awhile," Odasaku commented, "You need something?"
"No, I was just in the area and wanted to see you," Dazai responded, "I'm not interrupting you, am I?"
Odasaku nodded a no, "Not at all. I just got done visiting the orphans. Maybe we can go out? Talk a little bit?"
"... Like a date?" Replies the brunette hesitantly.
"In a way, yes."
Dazai smiled a bit, "I'd like that."
--
They ended up at a park, sitting by the water underneath a cherry tree, talking this and that.
Dazai just watched Oda intently, listening to him talk as the sun started to go down.
"... I think, if I were to get out of the mafia, I'd like to settle down. You know, like how couples do when they hit thirty or so. Get married, adopt some kids… Domestic things like that," Oda replied, "I'm not boring you, am I?"
Dazai nodded a no, "Not at all. I like hearing your thoughts, it's interesting."
Oda chuckles, "I am afraid you're the only one who thinks that."
"Well, other people aren't very smart, hm?"
"Maybe so."
The two fell silent, listening to the river rush by as Dazai turned his head away from Oda, and instead up towards the falling flowers of the cherry tree.
"Odasaku."
"Yes?"
"Would you care if I died?" Dazai asked.
"Of course," Odasaku answered without a second thought, "I'd care very much, you're very dear to me, Dazai."
"Are you… certain?" Dazai asked, a puzzled look on his face, "You aren't supposed to form attachments in the mafia…"
The last part was more of a reminder to himself than Odasaku.
"You can't let the mafia dictate your entire life, Dazai," the brunette replied, looking back at Dazai, "I know you were raised here with those beliefs, but there is much more out there, much more to experience. Don't be the mafia's pawn, be a person."
Be a person…
"Hm…" Dazai replied, looking down at his knees.
He'd think about it.
--
Oda is smiling as his head lays in Dazai's lap.
If it weren't for their current environment, Dazai could've forgotten he was even dead.
He runs his fingers through the other's red-brown hair.
It's so soft. So pretty.
He shouldn't have died so soon…
Dazai doesn't even realize the cold tears running down his cheek, the shivering of his body or the shaking of his hands.
"Odasaku…" Dazai manages to choke out, shortly after muttering thousands upon thousands of apologies.
This is why you don't get attached to people, is what Dazai's brain says, but it doesn't even matter.
Dazai is too busy mourning his fallen friend, his unrequited would-be lover.
There was so much more he wanted to do with him, so much he wanted to tell him.
Dazai wanted to leave the mafia with him, get married and adopt orphans and live happily ever after, like Odasaku had talked about so much.
Even if it would've made this moment more painful, he would've like to tell Odasaku he loved him…
… Become a good man.
That's what he said, isn't it? Dazai thought.
He began to dry his tears on his jacket.
Oda wasn't here to protect or take in orphans anymore… People like his pupil, Akutagawa, could easily just die on the street without people like Oda…
Oda isn't alive to leave the mafia, either, or settle down like he wanted…
I'll… do it for him. Dazai thought.
I'll do what he never got to do. Just for him.
--
"You look to be mourning," said an older man, his name is Fukuzawa, Dazai reminded himself.
"I am," Dazai answered from his place in front of a grave. Fukuzawa takes a seat beside him.
"Oda Sakunosuke?" He asked, and Dazai nodded, "A friend or a lover?"
"... It's complicated," Dazai replied.
"Would you feel better to explain?"
Dazai fell silent for a moment, then continuing, "I had never met someone I genuinely felt connected to until the moment I met Odasaku. It felt like having mushrooms grow all over me, being infected with feelings I couldn't process… I tried getting rid of them, time and time again, but they always came back… I didn't hate my feelings for Odasaku, I just knew it was a danger for both of us… When he died, I went back to having one singular emotion of sadness, like all the mushrooms just fell off. And then seeing other everyday people experience feelings and not having to worry about them made me… feel silly looking and pathetic. I never got to sort out my feelings for him or even tell him but everyone else… Nevermind, that's not a very kind thing to say… sorry…"
"That's okay," Fukuzawa says, "You haven't been showing up to the agency recently. Is this why?"
"Kind of. I just miss him dearly, even though it's been two years…"
"It's okay to miss someone, no matter how long ago they just your life, whether or be through death, a fight, or anything in between. You can still miss Sakunosuke twenty years from now, and it'll be perfectly valid, Dazai," Fukuzawa explained calmly, placing a hand on Dazai's back.
Dazai snickered, "You sound like the dad I never had."
"Perhaps I should be."
--
"... Kunikida is an amazing fiance, and I'm sure he'll be a great husband, too," Dazai said from his spot beside the grave, under a cherry tree.
"And Atsushi… he's like a son to me, you would have loved him. And Kyouka, too, she's so cute. You would've loved the whole agency…"
Dazai sighs, looking over to Odasaku's grave, with fresh roses placed by it.
"... I'm trying really hard to be a good person, Odasaku. It's hard… I'm trying to make things up with Akutagawa, but I just keep… fucking up…" Continued the brunette, "I've hurt him so much, and I just keep falling back into hurting him… but I'm trying. It's the thought that counts, right?"
Odasaku doesn't respond, not that Dazai expects him to. He knows his friend is long dead, but talking to him like this eases the pain.
"I haven't been thinking about killing myself as much, or at least, not in a serious way. I wouldn't say I'm happy to be alive but… At least I'm not upset that I'm alive…"
Dazai falls silent, standing up and moving in front of the grave, "I like to think you're proud of me, Odasaku. I hope that's true… Odasaku, I'll talk to you tomorrow..."
Dazai turns his back, beginning to walk away from the grave as he hums one last thing under his breath to Odasaku.
"I'm still in love with you, you know?"

The Boy in the Belfry Pt. 9, a Bungo Stray Dogs fic.
Õgai Mori, a former doctor and now the boss of the Port Mafia, was seated by his grand mahogany desk in his office. By his side, stood Elise, a young girl in a pretty red dress and the manifestation of his ability.
His eyes were focused on a faint stain on the polished wood after a coffee cup had been sat there without a coster on the unnecessarily expensive desk. It wasn't that it bothered him. If he could choose, it wouldn't be there, but right now, it was somewhere to concentrate his gaze while he thought through the events that had occurred the last few days.
Somehow, that incompetent old man had made his way into his office, two days ago. He was sure he had rid himself of that pest over ten years ago.
He had left him to bleed out on his own altar after a very unfortunate accident with his Glock the same day he had taken in his half-dead son. So clumsy of him.
Something inside his mind had snapped at the sight of the young body falling through the air. After he had decided that he wanted the boy, he already thought of him as his and the preacher had no right to damage anything of his.
Before leaving the HQ, he had every intention of paying the preacher for the boy. When the old man delivered damaged goods- the old man had to pay instead. That was how it worked when doing business with the Port Mafia.
And after all this time, the preacher had returned. The preacher had returned to kill him. He was going to kill Mori and take Dazai back.
Mori had obviously laughed in the old man's face and told him that the Port Mafia didn't have a fucking return policy (and even if they did, he was too late. The kid was an expired ware).
He had been playing with the thought of offering him Elise, just to taunt him. But, he knew from the preacher's obvious self-hatred and the damages that had been done to his son's body, that the old man didn't lean that way.
He felt sick just thinking about it.
With that, his thoughts drifted back to the first time he treated Dazai. It was that same day. If the kid didn't survive, he swore that he would go back there and kill the preacher one more time (which he now knew he should have done anyway).
Even though Mori had known that a fall from that hight was not enough to ensure fatality, there was no way to know for sure when Dazai was so young and had suffered much physical abuse prior to his suicide attempt.
The blood loss was not compatible with the fall. Also, the head trauma didn't fit the way he had landed. Mori was there to witness when Dazai hit the ground, and he had clearly landed with his feet first. That wouldn't cause his skull to fracture. And it certainly wouldn't leave burn marks all over his abdomen, back, and neck.
The broken legs, pelvis, spine and elbow- yes. Maybe the shoulder too.
But carvings of fucking bible verses into the skin was not common fucking injuries after failed suicide attempts- It was the cause of them.
When the prior boss had found out everything, he had ordered Mori to continue down the path that was started by the preacher.
He wanted the boy tortured to the point that pain was all he knew. Tortured to the point where pain and suffering were more familiar than love and comfort. To the point where the boy didn't know anything else.
The Boss wanted an unfeeling human weapon. So that's what Mori gave him.
Learning about the boy's ability to nullify all other abilities had been quite the bonus. Obviously, it was a bit annoying under his training when they had realized and their entire training plan had to be changed- but it proved to be very helpful never the less.
Also, it was his only mean of protection. They had taught him martial arts and self-defense, but his body was weak from malnourishment and frail from all the injuries he had sustained through his life.
So, they ran with it. If Dazai was going to be fragile, he had to learn to work with it, make it his strength- and he had.
And now, out of the blue- two days ago; that weak, stupid and useless preacher was standing in front of this very coffee-stained desk, demanding to get back Mori's single greatest creation- and, disappointment.
The man who had started it all.
'The man whos powers worked on Dazai', he had realized. With everything that had happened while trying to save Dazai's life, making sure he was even able to walk again and then starting the training and realizing that the boy had that ability- Mori had never even realized that Dazai had been the victim of his father's ability for all of those years.
That was why the preacher had gotten Mori's attention that day. The only reason Mori had not killed him right then and there. Obviously, Mori was not going to ask the preacher about it yet, that would make him think he had the upper hand.
He would see this through. After all, they did have a common interest.
Either, Dazai needed to be on their side, or, they needed him to be dead. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Chuuya looked at the full tray of food that had been pushed aside from Dazai's bed.
“Do you eat?”
Chuuya looked suspiciously at Dazai in the hospital bed. His body had always been frail, but sometimes it looked weaker than others. Thinner.
“You just can't help yourself, can you, carrot top?” Dazai spat back, more amused than annoyed.
Chuuya shot back a stare he hoped might prove lethal.
“I've seen chicken legs with more fat on them than you.”
Dazai reached his tongue out. He slumped down on the bed and pouted.
“The hospital food is... Squishy.” “Squishy?”
“Yeah.”
Chuuya didn't look completely satisfied with that explanation.
“Come on chibi, it's a perfectly good word,” Dazai said determinedly.
Chuuya rolled his eyes. “No, and please stop calling me that!”
“What, chibi? Come on, you're 22 years old. You have to realize that you're not still growing, chibi.”
Chuuya's cheeks were puffed and flustered with anger.
“See? Just like your cheeks are right now, chibi! Squishy!” Dazai sang happily, reaching out to deflate them with his index fingers, just as there was a knock on the door.
Both of them immediately looked to the door on high alert.
It slowly opened, revealing a man with long gray hair.
“President,” Dazai exclaimed innocently and retracted his hands.
Fukuzawa looked suspiciously at the redhead seated at the bedside and approached.
Chuuya was clearly uncomfortable but got up and wearily reached out a hand to greet the ADA president anyway.
“My name is chib... Fuck! My name is Chuuya! I'm fucking Nakahara Chuuya,” he exclaimed as his cheeks turned crimson red and he mumbled curses under his breath while sitting down in the chair in complete disgrace, hanging his head low and covering his face with a gloved hand.
Dazai's grin was wide and victorious.
“I know who you are, Nakahara Chuuya,” Fukuzawa said sternly, mostly to establish dominance, before shifting his attention back to Dazai.
“I'd like to speak to you, in private,” he added, glaring back at the Port Mafia executive.
Chuuya scoffed, trying to recover from the embarrassment, and folded his arms.
“Great, I have more important things to attend to, than to prevent stickman over here from going fully hangman on our asses anyway,” he shrugged, getting up and giving a short wave while walking to the door.
“See you soon, Strawberry Shortcake!” Dazai waved back.
Four of five fingers folded from Chuuya's wave right before he slammed the door shut.
“Redheads are always so feisty,” Dazai smirked at his superior. Fukuzawa shook his head in disapproval, before settling on the uncomfortable plastic chair.
Dazai sighed at the lack of response, “So, Ranpo and Kunikida have been tattling?” he asked instead, unconsciously scratching his bandaged neck. As soon as he realized that the notion did not go unnoticed by Fukuzawa, he lowered his hand.
“Yes, they have told me about your feverish ramblings,” he stated, “and I have to admit, that I am concerned about you, Dazai.”
Dazai's smile didn't budge. “Sunday school, you know.”
“And what about the mentions of the Port Mafia boss, Mori?”
Dazai frowned and raised his shoulders, “He is a handsome man. I was never that great of a Sunday school student.”
Fukuzawa slapped his face with his palm. “You are so full of bull-”
“Language, boss,” Dazai scolded, acting shocked. "I have sensitive Sunday School ears."
Fukuzawa had never been closer to share Kunikida's desperate annoyance with Dazai. He got back to his feet and took a few laps around the room while trying not to lose his usually so mild temper.
“Dazai...” ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Dazai wished people would stop saying his name in that tone. As if he had done something wrong. For once in his life, he knew what he was doing was right.
Sure, they would probably not see it that way, but if they'd known... Nothing good would come from that. Which was another thing he couldn't tell them, which they also would probably disagree with.
After Fukuzawa had left, he had finally been left alone for the first time in over a week.
He let the bed lower so he could lay straight, his back thanking him and his head being less grateful. He let the dizziness settle while breathing deeply, easing the nausea that came with it.
Chuuya already knew too much, but hopefully, Mori didn't know that. In which case, Chuuya was safe(not that he cared or anything). All though, the slug would probably do something stupid anyway...
For the first time in several weeks, he allowed himself to try and make sense of this whole situation.
Mori had told him years ago that his father was killed when he was retrieved from the church. That was obviously not true.
Why was his father back? Where had he been and why the hell (language, Dazai) would he try and find him? He hadn't been of any use for that bastard since the day he first met the Port Mafia, which had been made perfectly clear that same night, before his first... attempt of relief. Of peace, salvation and, just... to be left alone.
'What is happening to me?' Dazai thought while looking out the window to his right. 'Am I finally truly losing my mind?'
No. That had already happened years ago. There was no mind left to lose.
Dazai chuckled at the thought. 'Very well then, no mind left to lose means that there is not much else left to lose...'
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The next day, Kunikida got a call. He threw his phone violently on the floor after listening for about a minute. Scared, disbelieving and concerned eyes looked at the man, as he stomped out of the room, through the hallway and straight into Fukuzawa's office.
After a couple of minutes, Fukuzawa came out of the room, leaving Kunikida to calm down inside.
“I need everyone to be ready in10 minutes,” he declared. “Dazai is missing," a deep sigh followed as he muttered under his breath, "...again."

Six chances to fail according to plan [fic]
Happy Valentine’s Day Yuri! ♥ ( @chuuyeetos ) I’m your Secret Valentine on the Discord Server and I hope you enjoy the fic I’ve written for you!!
Title: Six chances to fail according to plan Summary: It’s Valentine’s Day and every time Dazai is alone with Chuuya, someone interrupts them with something Dazai thinks of unnecessary. It takes him six tries until they are alone and he can ask Chuuya what he planned since morning.
Read on: AO3
"Alone on Valentine's Day?", Dazai asked Chuuya who was sitting on a working laptop in the Port Mafia's empty canteen. It was still too early for lunch so no one was around here. "As expected from someone like you."
A sigh escaped Chuuya and he rolled his eyes while shaking his head slightly. "It's not like you have a date yourself, right?" He finished typing the sentence, he started before Dazai interrupted him and closed the device after saving the document. With Dazai around, it was impossible to concentrate on work and the report could take some delay. "So what?", he asked and let his hand hover over an envelope next to the laptop, not sure if he should put it away or not.
Dazai sat down on the table next to the closed laptop and his lips formed a smirk. "I was about to ask someone to be my Valentine for today."
For a moment, surprise lit up in Chuuya's eyes before he raised his eyebrow at his partner, ignoring the nervous skip of his heart. He hadn't expected that Dazai would place importance on commercial days like today but then again, he never knew what he had to expect with him anyway. "Oh yeah? Who is that lucky person you want to ask out?"
"Actually-" Dazai chuckled, looking around in the room like he was searching for the right words. "it's a pretty dumb person who wouldn't even get it if I asked directly."
Frowning now at Dazai, Chuuya wasn't sure what he should answer on that, putting the envelope back in his pocket. When he was honest, Chuuya couldn't take a guess on the person, Dazai wanted to ask out. Who would be so dense and not getting a direct question like this?  "How complicated are you planning to ask them out?", Chuuya asked finally, taking a sip of his coke afterwards. Maybe more sugar helped to deal with this idiot.
"Oh, Chuuya, here you are."
Chuuya leaned back in the chair to have a look on who was interrupting them. "Ane-san!" His eyes lit up with happiness and he jumped up from his chair. "What can I do for you?"
Kouyou looked at Dazai, scanned him from head to toes before she spoke up to him: "Even as an executive member of the Port Mafia it is inappropriate to sit on the table, Dazai." After he jumped down with a simple 'I'm sorry.', Kouyou put her attention on Chuuya. She reached out to him and gave him a small purplish-red textile pouch with pink cherry blossoms on it. "It is some chocolate. I hope you can enjoy it."
Smiling at Kouyou, Chuuya thanked her for it with a brief hug and a simple but euphoric "Thank you!" It was the first chocolate he received today and that it was from Kouyou made him really happy. Though, he knew she wouldn't go all out and make it herself but he appreciated her gesture and that she thought of him as important enough to buy him something.
"You look way too happy about it, chibi," Dazai said to him after Kouyou had left them again because she had a meeting with Mori. He was playing with the textile package, Chuuya had received, his head supported on his other hand.
Chuuya took it before Dazai would open it and probably eat it without giving it another thought. "You're just jealous that I got something from Ane-san and you came away empty-handed!" He definitely wouldn't let his mood marred by Dazai.
Clicking his tongue. "As if." Dazai turned to leave Chuuya.
It wasn't a full hour later when Chuuya was walking through the Port Mafia halls to get rid of some time. There wasn't exactly much to do today so it was a little boring since he was already done with all the reports for the day.
"Chuuuya~"
Maybe he shouldn't have thought about it being boring because this always seemed to summon his loud partner. "What do you need now, shitty Dazai?"
Putting an arm around Chuuya, Dazai walked next to his partner. "Can't I just greet my partner without having a reason for it?", he asked and had the most innocent smile on his face while Chuuya just raised both eyebrows at him, not believing a single word he just heard. "Okay~ maybe I wanted to ask you something."
Not minding the arm around him, Chuuya just stopped and looked at Dazai, waiting for whatever question the other executive member would have. He guessed it would be something stupid about his next suicide attempt - maybe he found some Valentine's Day specific methods on the internet and wanted to clarify something.
"You know~," Dazai began and was looking around in the halls. It was empty, only a few open offices doors from where you could hear the typing sounds on keyboards or some phones ringing. "Do you want-"
Before he was able to finish his sentence, Hirotsu left one of the offices and approached them, waving at them. "Oh, Chuuya-san. I already looked for you but couldn't find you." The old man greeted Dazai with a short nod with his head and looked back at Chuuya. "I wanted to give you my gratitude for recommending me those wines a few days ago."
Chuuya put the arm of Dazai away while turning towards Hirotsu to face him while talking.
Dazai really wasn't in the mood to discuss some expensive alcohol that didn't even taste delicious.
Chuuya, on the other hand, beamed happily at Hirotsu. "Oh, I'm glad you liked them! I tried to find some in different price classes, so which one was the best for you?" The taller man rolled his eyes before he slipped away. Confused, Chuuya looked at Dazai. What crawled up his ass so suddenly? Though, he wasn't able to stop Dazai by calling him back because Hirotsu was giving him the answer to his question and distracted Chuuya for a while.
Two or three hours after lunch hour, Dazai tried to approach Chuuya again but before he could reach him, Kyouka was already by Chuuya's side and he decided to just let it be and watch the situation.
Kyouka was holding a small box behind her back and her fingers played with the red ribbon around it, her cheeks having a slightly red color - unusual for the little girl to be nervous around someone so openly.
"What can I do for you, Kyouka?", Chuuya asked her and patted her head softly with a smile on his lips. He saw that she was nervous around him and tried to ease it a little.
Pressing her lips into a thin line, Kyouka looked to her side before she looked directly at Chuuya with her blue eyes - more vivid than in most other situations. "It's Valentine's Day," she started to speak up, "So I made you some chocolates." With those words, she put the box behind her back in front of her and tried to hold eye contact with Chuuya.
Chuuya took the small black box with the red ribbon. He hadn't expected to get something from her, too.
"It-It's a thank you for always looking out for me. It was the first time I made chocolates by myself so I hope you'll like them!", she explained her situation and it was clearly visible on her face that she was relieved when Chuuya gave her a hug and another pat on her head.
"Thank you, I'm glad you thought about me!"
A shy smile appeared on the girls face and you could almost feel how happy she was that Chuuya had accepted her Valentine’s present. "Oh, did you already give him your present for Valentine's Day?", she asked and Chuuya shrugged his head.
"No, not yet. There wasn't the right time until now."
While Chuuya gave Kyouka the answer to her question, Dazai had approached them and gave Chuuya a soft clap on his butt, what made him jump closer to Kyouka and angrily turn around to Dazai. "What the hell?!"
"Don't mind me," Dazai said and looked at Chuuya with a smug smile on his face. "I just wanted to give chibi a push to ask their crush out!"
Before Chuuya could punch Dazai, Kyouka grabbed his sleeve and stared at him with her huge blue eyes. It made Chuuya sigh deeply. He patted Kyouka's head with his free hand and tried to smile at her. "Thank you, I'll ask them later."
A while later, both Dazai and Chuuya, left Mori's office together. He had summoned them for a quick mission update they will begin in three days. Chuuya looked up at Dazai who wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings. "So? Did you manage to ask your-" His heart clenched a little when he thought about the word he wanted to use. "crush if they want to be your Valentine?"
Humming, Dazai just shrugged his shoulders as an answer. "Who knows? Why do you want to know?" Like most of the time, his spoken answer was a counter question.
It was to be expected, Chuuya thought. As if he would just straight forward tell him when he asked. "Just curious and I wanted to pity the poor person having the honour of getting your attention."
"You could just-" But before he was able to form a full sentence, Higuchi had stopped right in front of them, out of nowhere and almost crashing into them with the speed she evinced. Breathlessly, she supported her arms on her knees and tried to catch some air.
Her hair was a mess and most of her hair wasn't in her hair bun. "Dazai-san-, Nakahara-san." The syllable of their names only came out in broken parts because she was still recovering from her long-run, her face slowly recovering from the redness. "Do you know where Akutagawa-senpai is?"
Chuuya and Dazai both looked at each other before they shook their head in synchronous. Now that Higuchi mentioned him, Chuuya hadn't seen him the whole day and as far as he knew he wasn't assigned to any mission for today either.
Higuchi bit on the nail of her thumb and seemed to think feverish about where to find Akutagawa. After a brief moment, she sighed and bowed slightly in front of the two executive members. "I'm sorry for disturbing you." She walked a few steps past them and turned around again: "Please enjoy your Valentine's Day together!" With a wide smile, she waved at them before she walking off to find Akutagawa.
Hearing her words made Chuuya blush slightly. "As if I would enjoy this day with this shitty mackerel!", he called at her but she only waved it off with her hand while speeding up her steps to find Akutagawa.
"Chuuya! Wait for me!" Dazai sped up his steps to catch up with Chuuya who stopped and turned around to him.
"What do you need now?", he asked his partner. "If you want to complain that you got dumped by your planned Valentine-" Dazai had caught up to Chuuya in the meanwhile. "then sorry. I've no time for that."
"I didn't get dumped, chibi~," Dazai said and both started to walk next to each other, "Actually, I wanted to ask you if-"
Though, they weren't even able to walk more than three meters together when someone ran in between them and hid behind Chuuya, grabbing his coat like he himself was a shield.
"Elise-chan!"
Now it was more than obvious who was hiding behind Chuuya without even turning around.
"Oh, Dazai-kun, Chuuya-kun." Mori greeted them with his typical smile. "I'm sorry to interrupt your togetherness on Valentine's Day again." Subtle like a child in a toy shop, Mori tried to look behind Chuuya to get a glimpse of Elise. "Come on, Elise-chan, don't let us interrupt them more."
"Actually-", Chuuya began but Dazai interrupted him by grabbing his arm and pulling him away from Elise to give Mori a full sight on the little girl. "What?" Confused Chuuya looked up at Dazai and frowned slightly.
"I wanted to show you something." Not waiting for any reaction of the others, Dazai pulled Chuuya along with him. Mori and Elise both looking at each other before they watched the scene of Chuuya stumbling behind Dazai's fast walking pace, insulting him the most creative way they ever heard.
The moment, they reached the door to leave the building, Chuuya got called again. For a split second, Dazai thought about not stopping and just walk outside, pulling Chuuya with him but Chuuya had stopped and with a strong movement also freed his wrist from Dazai's grip.
"Mi- Tachihara, what can I do for you?", Chuuya asked and smiled at him. Nervously, Tachihara looked around and wasn't able to look directly at Chuuya, Dazai rolling his eyes standing behind Chuuya. "I wanted to ask if you have a spare minute?"
"No, he doesn't," Dazai hissed with a death glare at Tachihara what made both him and Chuuya flinch.
"What? Of course I-"
"No." Dazai grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers, his eyes about to kill Tachihara on spot. "Did you already forget that I wanted to show you something?"
Chuuya's reaction to their intertwined fingers was more than obvious with his red cheeks and his three tries to form a sentence towards Dazai before he turned towards Tachihara and apologized. "Sorry, we can talk later, okay?"
Tachihara only nodded, still feeling Dazai's death glare on him.
When they left the building, it was already pitch black outside and the cold wind danced around them. "So what do you want to show me now?", Chuuya asked him, still feeling the heat in his face from their joined hands. They walked a few more meters, leaving footprints in the freshly fallen snow behind them before Chuuya asked again. "Dazai?"
Dazai stopped underneath a lighted street lamp. No one else was around them and the streets around them were empty too. "You were about to call him by his given name."
The statement confused Chuuya. "Who?" What was he talking about now and why the hell did he stop in the middle of nowhere?
"Tachihara."
The dry answer made Chuuya look away. So Dazai had noticed how he corrected himself. "Yeah, but it has nothing to do with you anyway therefore what's your problem with it?" He didn't want to hear any lectures about him getting too familiar with his subordinates and he didn't want to hear any other stupid comment Dazai may have upon his sleeve.
Not looking at Chuuya, Dazai seemed to search an answer elsewhere in their environment. "Why-" He bit on his bottom lip and chewed on it, having Chuuya's confused eyes on him. "Why did you never try to call me by my name?"
Taken aback by this, Chuuya's eyes widened and within a second he had turned away from Dazai, freeing his hand with the same movement. His heart skipped a few beats in his rib cage before speeding up to the double, the blood rushing up in his face. "What-What the hell?"
Dazai took a deep breath. "I always call you Chuuya but you never called me-" Turning around back to face Dazai, he pressed his hand against his mouth. "Stop that!", he shouted. "It's fucking embarrassing okay?" His heartbeat still worked against him and he tried to calm down by taking a few deep breaths. "I don't know why it's so hard but just calling you- just thinking about calling you-" Chuuya bit on his bottom lip, looking down on his in snow-covered boots. His hand sank down next to his body and he played with the hem of his jacket.
"Can you look at me, Chuuya?"
Chuuya shook his head and felt like a little child not wanting to eat his vegetables.
Dazai stepped a little closer and intertwined their fingers again. "I can't show you what I wanted to show you," Dazai said and took another step closer.
With his face still red, Chuuya looked up and before he even realized it, his face was cupped by Dazai's hand and his whole body prickled warm when he felt the other man's lips on his own.
It was only a fleeting moment before Dazai pulled away, his hands slowly slipping away from Chuuya's face. "I love you, Chuuya." He took a step back and smiled at Chuuya. "That's all I wanted to tell you and it's up to you if you believe me or not."
Two things were obvious on Chuuya's face right now. First was his embarrassment about the direct confession towards him. The second thing was how his brain worked for an answer but all Chuuya got was a total blackout. "What do you mean?"
"See?", Dazai tried to avoid direct eye contact with Chuuya. "I already said you this morning that the person I want to ask out is too dumb to understand it even if I say it directly to them."
Chuuya could feel how the anger slowly crept up in his body. He wasn't mad at Dazai for what he said, more on how he expected him to read his barely spread hints again. "How am I supposed to believe that?!" Chuuya made a counter question. "All you do is teasing me!"
Brushing a hand through his brown locks, Dazai sighed. "Because that's the only time I get your full attention."
"That's not-"
"Just look back at today's day," Dazai said, interrupting Chuuya. "I was around you on so many occasions but as soon as someone else entered our space, you turned away."
Chuuya was about to deny it but Dazai was right. "I-" He was at a total loss for words and his hands began to sweat while his heart still jumped like crazy. "Then you probably don't take this as an answer?" Chuuya searched in his pocket for the small envelope and the plastic bag to give it to Dazai, shoving it against his chest with maybe a little too much power. "Now it comes off like it's a sorry present but actually I wanted to give it to you the whole day."
After Dazai held them with a questionable look, Chuuya added: "The cookies are bought and the tickets for a movie today may seem- I don't know? Boring? But that's what you need to put up with loving me because that's everything I can come up and I know you're probably used to more than that as presents but then again, I wasn't sure what to get for you because you could buy everything yourself anyway and-."
The flood of words out of Chuuya's mouth only stopped, when Dazai kissed him again.
This time it was more confident and when he felt Chuuya relaxing, he parted his lips slightly. Chuuya's hand clung onto Dazai's shirt and he supported his body against his chest when he tiptoed to get even closer to Dazai.
"For fuck's sake! It's your fault that we missed the movie!"
"Oh yeah? Who was the one not letting go of my lips, huh?"

Petrichor + Soukoku
I don’t know what this is anon. I really don’t and I triple checked what Petrichor meant (because I didnt previously know when I got this) so, I hope this fic (not a ficlet because it’s 1600 words long!!) is what you had in mind!
The first time Dazai saw Chuuya again was during the first storm of the winter season. The rain was relentless over the city. Falling in sheets full of wrath pounding against windows and pavement.
Dazai had gotten himself caught in it. Still a few blocks from his own dingy apartment building and finding refuge within a small cafe that still happened to be open.
The smell in the air was distinct and wet. The kind of smell one looked forward to when it finally rained after a long dry season. Like everything was cleansed of its dirt and grime. (Though Dazai would never properly be cleansed of his own.)
However, Dazai would’ve preferred to enjoy the smell inside his apartment. Where it was dry. Currently he was soaked to the bone and while it wasn’t particularly chilly out, it didn’t make his wet clothing any less uncomfortable. He sat himself at a table close to the door.
Peering outside the window he watched as passerby’s -smartly equipped with umbrellas- went about the rest of their day. Either heading home or back to work. It was methodical, the way each person walked passed another. The way they called out to cabs and slipped inside without breaking the nearly endless cycle of moving cars and people.
It was boring.
A waitress came by his table only once to offer a warm drink, her smile plastic, given out to everyone as per her job’s description. She seemed tired, older than a woman working this kind of job should be. Dazai accepted her offer of the daily special.
It was a simple coffee that didn’t taste all that great, but then, nearly everything tasted bland to Dazai. At least she’d been right in that it did warm him to the core.
As he continued to people watch, only half focused as several different trains of thought battled for his primary focus, the distinct sound of a bell ringing pushed them all to the back of his mind.
Looking up Dazai was greeted with the sight of a very wet and angry Nakahara Chuuya.
He hadn’t seen the man in well over two years.
Not since he’d left.
He didn’t think he’d ever see the man again.
He’d grown, not so much in height as everything else. His stance was more assured despite his hunched shoulders which shook with irritation at the weather. His face was more defined, the lines between his masculine and feminine features more clearly drawn to make him seem less androgynous than he used to. His eyes were still full of light, however they were sharper.
Though that could’ve just been the glare he was currently sending Dazai’s way.
He hadn’t even realized the redhead noticed him.
At the realization he also realized that the man was moving towards him.
Seating himself in the chair across from Dazai with an exasperated huff like the decision to sit there hadn’t been entirely his own.
Dazai didn’t say anything and he doubted the man wanted him to. He looked like a cat, an angry, wet, and feral cat. Blue eyes narrowed and the twitch of his brow like that of a cat’s tail.
“So either, you are very dead and hung yourself in this cafe and are currently a ghost. Or actually fucking stuck around in Yokohama. Please tell me you’re fucking dead.” Chuuya said.
“Would you like the truth or something to continue believing I have successfully killed myself?” Dazai responded.
Chuuya leaned back, his arms crossed over his chest, “You pick.”
Dazai nodded his head once and said in a self pitying tone, “Alas, I cannot say I have died but instead am still trapped among the living.”
Chuuya rolled his eyes, huffing a breath through his teeth as his gaze flicked elsewhere, “Fuck me.”
Dazai’s brow raised, the first thing that came to mind to say would surely get him violently thrown back into the rain. Through the window.
So instead he stayed silent.
Chuuya’s eyes came back to meet his, eyebrow cocking high on his forehead as he spat, “What? No stupid remark to make about how you already have? Or happily would again? Or maybe that you’d never dream of it? Nothing?”
Dazai shrugged, “Seems you’ve come up with enough comebacks on your own.”
Chuuya sneered, “Shut up.”
Dazai shrugged again then sat back in his own seat. Once again glancing outside only to see his reflection staring back at him. Deciding he didn’t care for that particular view he moved his gaze over to Chuuya’s reflection. Allowed himself a moment to dwell on everything that seemed to have changed about him.
His presence seemed to have broadened, become twice the size since Dazai had last seen him. It was a still familiar presence though, known.
“You know I’m still feeling the heat of your oh-so-sudden departure?” Chuuya eventually said, breaking the thin layer of silence that had settled over them.
Dazai didn’t turn his head away from the window to indicate he acknowledged the statement. Simply waited for Chuuya to continue speaking.
“I’m still in the process of cleaning up your mess.”
Dazai made a sound under his breath, “Surely the blood has been truly and thoroughly cleaned up.”
“Not really.” Chuuya bit out.
“Did you-?”
“No.”
The new mafia boss still hadn’t publicly been made clear yet.
If not Chuuya, then it was Kouyou.
Dazai snorted.
“She’s great at it, better than even he was. Has had to call my loyalty into question one too many times though.” Chuuya said with a pointed look at Dazai before averting his gaze again.
Dazai didn’t have a response for that. It made sense that Chuuya would be a suspect to aiding Dazai in his escape. His loyalty coming into question would’ve been laughable with literally anything else. But Dazai abandoning ship the way he had and how easily he seemed to slip away, there was absolutely no way Chuuya wouldn’t receive suspicion.
Chuuya frowned, head turning to look at Dazai back through the window, “You have nothing to say?”
“Were you hoping I would when you came to sit there?”
Chuuya’s eyes narrowed, “No,” he answered and it seemed honest, “No, actually I was hoping I’d slipped on a puddle and passed out a few blocks back and that you weren’t actually here and I was just suffering through a concussion induced nightmare.”
“You could be.” Dazai said and that got him a grunt.
“Maybe I am. And that’s why you’re so quiet.”
“I’m not quiet. Just observant.”
Chuuya rolled his eyes, “What are you observing?”
The entirely honest answer was, everything, though that’s not what he said, though, he regretted what he actually said all the same, “You.”
Chuuya smirked and leaned forward, “I haven’t changed. But you clearly have.” He said with a clear nod to Dazai’s change of wardrobe and unbandaged eye.
Fighting the urge to reach up and touch the skin around his eye, Dazai watched as Chuuya clenched his jaw. Expression shifting as he debated something.
Eventually he asked, “Was it worth it?”
It was a loaded question, one that wasn’t enough to encompass the emotions Chuuya had felt at Dazai’s betrayal. Wasn’t accusatory either. Sounded curious, like he needed the answer to be the right one. The one that could rationalize why Dazai would leave him. Why Dazai didn’t choose him.
Just four simple words that Dazai couldn’t decipher the purpose of answering, because he didn’t know what the right answer was. Not knowing something, especially about what Chuuya wanted from him was foreign. Odd. Had him wondering if perhaps Chuuya had changed more than just physically and far more in maturity.
So, he responded honestly, “I don’t know yet.”
At that Chuuya smiled though it didn’t touch his eyes and stood.
Dazai, curious now, asked, “Was that why you came over here?”
Chuuya didn’t pause, didn’t miss a step, just continued out as though Dazai’s voice hadn’t reached him.
The brunet, watched as Chuuya exited the building, re-entering the rain and moving quickly away.
The first time he’d seen Chuuya after defecting from the mafia, killing Mori, and leaving behind one of the only good things he’d had in life, was also the last.
It wasn’t until, a few years later, tucked in bed with Chuuya laying next to him, curled against his side, breaths light and gentle as he slept, that Dazai stopped have firsts and lasts with the man.
That they began and the end, the end was distant. A promise that would eventually be fulfilled, like the promise of rain after the end of a dry season, the promise of petrichor drifting in the air when it did, the promise of a final page to every book.
The book Dazai had, guaranteed their end would come later. That Dazai need not trouble himself with worry over what may occur tomorrow because tomorrow they’d return to their bed. As they always did. As they always would.

Since today is my b'day, I was wondering, do you have hcs on how Dazai & Chuuya would celebrate their birthdays? With or without a s/o? :3c Thank you so much and have a wonderful day ahead~ And I absolutely love your writing~
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OR LATE BIRTHDAY I SAW THIS LAST NIGHT BUT IDK WHAT YOUR TIME ZONE IS ILY DOLL (I know I’ve written for Dazai’s birthday before but I don’t see it on this blog so here’s a fresh crop of hcs)[Dazai –no s/o]•Just another day to him, and he doesn’t make much of a fuss about it unless it’sto guilt people into doing his work for him (like Atsushi). He doesn’t mentionit until he actual day because he’d rather make people feel like crap for notknowing—even Kunikida feels a bit of guilt—and Dazai wants nothing more to be alazy couch potato for the rest of the day.•Dazai’s birthdays weren’t exactly a secret in the Port Mafia, but rarely did hedo much other than go to Lupin’s and celebrate with Odasaku and Ango. There’s atwinge of hurt in his heart when he thinks of the last birthdays he spent withhis friends. Because of this his birthdays are now a bittersweet day and he’drather just nap it off than celebrate. But, if the ADA goes out of their way tobuy him a birthday cake after he’s done wailing about how everyone forgot hegraciously accepts the attention in a traditional dramatic-Dazai fashion. [Dazai- with an s/o]-NSFWish•You’d think you were fucking santa clause with the list Dazai gives you themorning of his birthday. Regardless of what you have planned for him—breakfast inbed, morning shower sex, a loving shower of presents—Dazai beats you to thepunch and hands you a very detailed list of all the naughty things he’d like tohappen throughout the day. With a smirk a mile wide Dazai lightly kisses yournose and answers any protests with “but it’smy birthday!”. He uses this day to sneak in any naughty activity you’vebeen on the fence about that he’s been dying to try. Besides, how could youdeny a man such a thing on his birthday?—He says this as he’s whipping out thefirst skimpy outfit he wants you to wear during breakfast.•“Will you love me as I wither away intoold age? Oh I see a wrinkle! ____, don’t leave me just because I’m old!”Dazai whines things like this all day if you’re giving a smidge of attention tosomeone else, even if its work related. He’s in your ear pestering you abouthis decaying body until you’re completely immersed in whatever action he wantsfrom you. A kiss, a hug, an under the desk blow job—Dazai is king today and hewants you to see only him.•Outside of wanting to slip a quick fuck in or a steamy round of oral sex allover Yokohama, Dazai is pretty lax about any other birthday plans you’ve madefor him. While he’d prefer spending the majority of the day just with you he’snot about to turn his nose up if you’ve decided to throw him a big party. Aslong the food is delicious and he doesn’t have to pay for any beer he’s a happycamper with his arm around your waist and a piece of cake in his mouth.•After any festivities Dazai sweeps you up in his arms and announces its timefor the birthday boy to ‘unwrap hisfavorite present’. Getting you to blush in public is one of his favoritepast times, and he’s even more proud of himself if you’re glaring at him as hesets you down on the side walk outside. His shit eating grin fades as he grabsyour hand and asks if you want to take a walk with him around the city.•Without mentioning it he guides you to the place he took you on your firstdate. If you’re too full from the party he merely orders a few drinks and sitssnuggled in the booth just enjoying the conversation and your company. When theearly evening fades to twilight and he senses you’re running out of energy hepeppers kisses up your neck and asks if you want to end that night at hometangled in each other’s arms. •Once you’re both in the comfort of your own home Dazai is quick to strip you ofyour clothes and toss you in bed for round he-lost-count. This session, thoughjust as heated, is threaded in passionate kisses and touches. Dazai’s handsfind every dip and curve in your body and his mouth follows the trails hisfingertips leave on your skin. He makes it a point to cover every inch of skinwith his mouth, tagging a few places like your neck and hips with deep redmarks. Even though it’s his birthday he’d rather hear you screaming his namethroughout the night. [Chuuya – no s/o]•Chuuya celebrates his birthday with the people who feels are closest to him. Aprivate dinner with Kouyou and Hirotsu followed by a small celebration at thebar with nearly all the black lizard, and he gets absolutely shit faced. Notthat its much different than when he usually drinks, but he buys himself a veryexpensive bottle of wine that gets him wasted faster than usual. Hirotsu, asusual, carries Chuuya to Tachihara’s car and ensures he gets home safely.[Chuuya—with an s/o] - NSFWish•Chuuya lets you completely plan the entire day, he figures you know him betterthan anyone else so why interfere? He does however want a blow job to start theday and if you don’t offer on a whim he makes not-so-subtle hints and usesthose sapphire blue eyes of his to bait you down below his belt. Of coursebeing the gentleman Chuuya is he’s not going to let you go unloved, and hehappily returns the favor by dragging you up and sitting you on his face. •Unless Chuuya knows ahead of time you need the whole day he goes about his workas usual, however Kouyou makes sure he has the night off to celebrate. If you’replanning something big Kouyou is 100% in for helping you plan whatever you needand offers to distract Chuuya if you’re planning something elaborate. SinceChuuya would plan something elaborate for you, in turn he would love somethinga little over the top but not necessarily huge. Even if it’s just the people he’sclose to in the mafia Chuuya would be floored by any party you managed to holdwithout his knowledge.•Chuuya makes it a priority to have lunch with you even if its homemade bentoboxes in his office. Though he truly wants to spend time with you because heloves you he’s hiding a devious intent behind his passionate kisses and little nibbleson your throat. What fun is a birthday and a big fancy office if you can’tsneak in a quickie with your beloved? Chuuya slides his gloves off nonchalantlyand lets his hands to the talking. Before you know it your underwear is hangingoff the book shelf and Chuuya’s buried between your thighs bouncing you up anddown on his office chair. • Regardlessof the size of the party—or if its just a romantic date for two—Chuuya insistson you dancing with him. Preferably to slow songs performed beautifully bystringed instruments, but if the place you’ve chosen has a DJ over a quartetChuuya isn’t going to fuss. With the lights twinkling, delicious French wineflowing, and your warm skin on his Chuuya is absolutely in heaven. His smilenever falls from his face as he dips you, spins you, and twirls you arounduntil you’re smiling just as wide as he is. • Chuuya loves ending the perfect birthday with a nighttime drive through theedges of the city. His hand stays clasped with yours, tugging it upward toplant soft kisses on the back of your hand periodically as he drives beneaththe glittering stars. After a while he pulls the car into an empty parking lotnear the beach, yanks a quilt from his trunk, and spreads it on the beach witha few more blankets he keeps tucked away in case he wants to be spontaneouslyromantic—like tonight. He holds you close and watches the waves slide throughthe sand with the moon refracting off the navy blue water. He hums softly toyou and nestles you in his lap and between gentle kisses he thanks you forgiving him such an amazing birthday.

Manakete! Chuuya if we go with fire emblem classes, maybe Dazai can be a dark mage ? So Dazai can make a magical drink to live forerver with Chuuya
That’s a pretty good idea! I didn’t think about it but Dazai as a dark mage is something I really can see as working out! ♥
Hope you’re okay with me writing a ficlet instead of Headcanons o3o There are following Headcanons that suit this ask too!
Immortality is only another Way of Suicide
Turning the page of his current book, Chuuya yawned. It was already late afternoon and he was relaxing in the shadow of the peach tree in front of the cottage he shared with Dazai.
“Chuuya~!!”
A noodle threw themselves into his arms and on his lap while grinning happily at the dragon boy.
“Ouch.” Chuuya rubbed the back of his head he hit with the momentum and was about to scold Dazai when he realized how Dazai’s eyes beamed at him with so much happiness. He never saw that before and it made his heart skip a beat. “What’s up with your attitude?”
Dazai laughed like a little girl hiding the secret of her crush in front of her friends and scratched the back of his head. “I did it!”
Confusion was written all over Chuuya’s face and the only answer was a raised eyebrow.
“You know, the drink I was working on over the last year,” Dazai explained and shifted his body slightly so he was sitting more comfortable on Chuuya’s lap.
“Are you sure?” Biting on his bottom lip, Chuuya wasn’t sure what to answer. “The immortalizing one?”
All the happiness in Dazai’s eye dropped and was replaced with his usual dead stare. “Yes, but I thought you would be more happy about my success.”
Guilt washed through Chuuya’s body and suddenly he felt horrible. That wasn’t what he meant with his words. His heart was beating fast and it felt like it would jump out of his ribcage any moment but it wasn’t a decision for him to make. “You know that’s not true.” His right hand wandered on Dazai’s neck while he stroked his cheek with his thumb. “I love you more than anything in this world but-”
“Actually,” Dazai interrupted him and sighed. “It’s not really a drink. It turned out to be a small ball I need to eat. It’s in my pockets and if you want, I can throw it in the river behind us.” With his hand, Dazai was searching in the pocket of his coat. “Maybe some fish gets immortal instead.”
The second he pulled the hand out of the pocket, Chuuya grabbed it and stopped him.
Chuuya looked at his own hand on Dazai’s wrist. His knuckles were white and clearly visible. “Dazai, listen.” He swallowed hard and wasn’t sure how to express his words the right way.
There were a few seconds of silence between them.
“Are you sure that works out? It won’t kill you? You already had three almost-deaths with your other tries.” His eyes weren’t able to withstand the brown eyes across of him. “I can’t- I don’t want to see you dying in my arms. I don’t want a life without you but it’s not up to me to take away the possibility of your long wished death.”
A deep sigh escaped Dazai’s mouth and he bumped his forehead against Chuuya’s, closing his eyes and feeling his mint-breath on his own lips. “With getting immortal my mortal self dies.” While he spoke his lips briefly touched Chuuya’s lips. “It’s like I have my perfect suicide and can spend my life with you forever.”
Chuuya pressed him down into a kiss to hide his embarrassment. “You sound like the naive princesses in a book.”
“But I love the strong dragon and not prince charming.”

Just let me take a look into my magical bag
Tumblr media
Okay, first I’ll go with a few basics that aren’t SKK-Exclusive Headcanons just to get the base down for the rest under the cut c:
Female!Alphas usually have smaller breasts (around A/B) while female!Omegas usually have C+
Female!Alphas are quite rare but also not highly seen from the male counterparts
They can kick your ass nevertheless if you touch their omega
I always kind of imagine that the connection between two persons in an omegaverse is like a soulmate connection and
You can be together with other (sex) partners but there is only one scent that makes you the most comfortable
There are no visible signs you just feel it over the time you get to know the person
female!omega have their first heat later than males around their 18th/19th birthday and after that the circle is individual
Alphas get ruts only if they are around an omega they personally think is worth them and have their heat (it happens rather rarely to alphaxalpha-couples to have a rut)
Now get blown away by the SKK-Stuff for you and I hope you’ll survive and I’ll survive and you will love it!!

Opposites attract
With a deep sigh, Chuuya fell down on the bed. It gave a squeaking sound when she fell down on her back and for a moment she simply stared at the phone in her hand. It still showed an incoming call from her bigger sister Kouyou. Not that they were blood-related but she really looked up to her in many ways. Sighing again, she swiped the button to the right and answered the call. “Ane-san, what a surprise!”, she tried to sound surprised but it was not hard to predict that she would call. It was only a matter of time because Chuuya’s birthday would be in a few days.
Through the phone was the shifting sound of clothes audible followed by a quiet coughing sound before she spoke: “It took you a long time to answer the call, Chuuya. Did something happen?”
Chuuya rolled her eyes and shook her head. “No.” Expect that she didn’t want to hear anything Kouyou would tell her in the next minutes. The following would be the easiest lie of today. “I was on the toilet and-”
“No further explanations, please,” Kouyou interrupted her and Chuuya chuckled over her reaction. “It’s your eighteenth birthday on Saturday.”
Pressing her lips into a thin line, she didn’t give Kouyou an answer. Of course, she knew about her own birthday. It wasn’t like it was easy to forget because she was an Alpha and her parents wanted nothing more than finally see her with another male alpha mate and bothered her the last month with it.
“We have a few candidates for you,” Kouyou spoke further when Chuuya didn’t answer and it sounded like a stupid omiai. She didn’t want to mate with some random dude she didn’t know even less loved. “You’re free to-”
“What if I already have a mate?”, Chuuya interrupted Kouyou and the next moment she wasn’t sure if she regretted the answer or not. It was the bluntest lie she ever told right in Kouyou’s face - almost in her face. It didn’t change the fact that it was a lie.
“Then-” Kouyou seemed surprised about that sudden information. “Who?”
The question was simple but her brain only gave her a huge blackout. What was she supposed to answer? Chuuya swallowed hard and looked around her room like it was possible to find an answer in it. “It’s- you know-” She licked over her dry lips and took a deep breath. There was no way she could take her words back. “It’s Dazai.”
“Dazai?” The disbelief in her voice was clearly audible even though she seemed to try to hide it. Of course, she knew about their friendship like her whole family did but hearing that they were mates was probably unexpected for them because Dazai was an omega.
Silence followed.
Everything inside Chuuya turned upside down and she suddenly felt like she needed to vomit her dinner. Her answer was a nod, only realizing a few moments later that Kouyou wasn’t able to see it so she answered with a simple “Yes.”
“Well, that comes quite unexpected but you could have told me earlier.” Kouyou sounded hurt, probably because she had to learn about it now and Chuuya not coming directly to her to tell her the news.
“Sorry.” She felt even worse now. “It’s just- just- it felt so fresh and personal- I didn’t know- I wasn’t sure how to tell you.”
Again silence fell over the two of them and Chuuya didn’t know how to talk further without spinning more of these lies.
Another sigh from Kouyou before she spoke again: “Then I’m glad you finally introduce her as your mate the upcoming weekend.”
Chuuya blinked a few times at her words. Oh fuck. “Yeah,” Chuuya agreed. How should she possibly ask Dazai to play her mate at the family gathering? Dazai was her best friend but it felt wrong to pull her into the lie when she already had a crush on someone else. More importantly, Chuuya didn’t want to make things awkward between them because Dazai would definitely find out about her crush on her with all the affection they would have to share that weekend. “I’ll write you the time we’ll arrive later these days but now I have to do some chores, so see you Friday, Ane-san, love you.” she didn’t even let her answer before the phone call was ending. Chuuya could literally see how Kouyou shook her head in disbelief because there was no way she would do chores on a Monday at ten in the evening.
-☆-
Staring at her hazelnut cappuccino and drumming her fingers on the cup, Chuuya felt like it would mock her. She had met up with Dazai in the city after school like they did every day because they weren’t on the same high school. They were sitting around for ten minutes now without her saying a word while Dazai talked non-stop about Oda, her teacher for Japanese Literature and obviously her crush since the new school year had started.
“Oh, and he helped me to choose your birthday present!” Dazai beamed happily at her. “I didn’t know what to get for you but now I have the perfect one!” She wagged with her cake fork in front of Chuuya’s face and a moment late she shoved the pastry in her own mouth second later and appreciative chewed on it. “Delicious!”
Usually, Chuuya would snitch Dazai’s fork and try a bite of the cake but she didn’t feel like it today. Especially all the talk about Oda let her feel even worse about her lies. “You know, my birthday is a good point.” She took a sip of her hot drink and let it calm down her stomach, Dazai looking at her with her cheeks full with cake. Without holding eye contact, Chuuya asked: “Could you pretend to be my mate over the weekend?” When the question was out, she was about to drown herself in the cappuccino cup and she still didn’t dare to look Dazai into her eyes, anxious about her immediate first reaction.
Surprised, Dazai swallowed the cake in her mouth and put her fork down to grab her hot chocolate. “Where comes that question from?” She ate the whipped cream on it and smacked.
Chuuya could feel the embarrassment creeping into her face and for a brief moment she looked up to Dazai. “Yesterday I may or may not have told Kouyou that you’re my mate.” Even though she didn’t want Dazai in her web of lies, she couldn’t come up with another plan either.
Frowning at her cup for a moment, Dazai looked over to Chuuya and raised an eyebrow. “Why would you do that?” She sounded like that was the most ridiculous thing she ever heard but in an amused way.
A deep sigh was the answer. She had never told Dazai about how persistent her parents were over the last months to get her a mate to her eighteenth birthday. “I panicked, okay?” Chuuya’s face was a bright red and she wanted to hide so bad. “My asshole grandparents wanted to introduce me to other potential mating-candidates and I- I don’t want that!” Only thinking about some of those would touch her gave her goosebumps.
Dazai was silence for a while and the moment, Chuuya wanted to add something, she answered: “We have a deal when you pay my cake for the rest of the year.” Dazai smirked and reached her hand out for a handshake.
With her heart almost jumping out through her throat, Chuuya stared at the hand in front of her, with those long and slim fingers ready to touch her own small hand. When she reached out to grab the hand, Chuuya wasn’t sure how good the contract she was about to sign really was but she was relieved, Dazai wasn’t saying no. “Deal.”
The rest would work out somehow. She would do her best that Dazai wouldn’t find out about her crush and convince her family that they were mates. Lucky, Dazai hadn’t her first heat yet so they wouldn’t have the problem of a mating bite symbol as a proof. Also, how things would go on after the weekend was a deferrable problem for now.
“If we’re finished, you have to come home with me, Chuuya!”
Confused, Chuuya looked up to her friend and frowned at her. “Why?”
“I still couldn’t decide on which dress I should wear to your birthday ball and you have to help me with a decision!” She looked at Chuuya with her huge brown puppy eyes and had her hands folded in front of her pouting lips. “And we have to talk about the details of our relationship.” A cheeky grin was on her face.
With the word relationship, Chuuya’s face heated up again and her eyes flew down on her half-empty cup. Maybe it was wrong and maybe it would break her heart after the weekend was over but a small part of her brain was really looking forward to all the affection they would share those three days. “Okay, I’ll help your lazy ass out.” Suddenly, Chuuya wasn’t sure if this weekend would end better or worse now.
“Yay!” Dazai clapped her hands together in happiness and smiled brightly.
-☆-
Chuuya sat in Dazai’s beanbag chair after they talked about their relationship story and watched her trying on different dresses and Dazai had a shitload amount of dresses. Adding the fact that Dazai was standing in front of Chuuya only wearing her underwear made the work hard because her eyes always wandered to her breasts as soon as she was out of the dress again.
The last one Dazai put out of her wardrobe was an elegant blue dress. She was talking about how she had bought that dress because she liked how smooth it was on her own body but never had a chance to wear it. Now she was eager to hear Chuuya’s opinion on it. A few moments later, she held it in front of her body and showed it Chuuya. The blue flattered her skin tone before she even wore it but
“Stop staring at my boobs, Chuuya.” Dazai laughed and put the dress on. It reached down to the floor and covered most of her scarred skin.
The only problem next to her reddening cheeks and ears was that Chuuya couldn’t concentrate on it because all she was doing was staring at how beautiful Dazai looked in the dress and her crush intensified hundred per cent at least. Chuuya was doomed. Dazai looked like a princess in the dress. Maybe she should just think about wearing a suit instead of that black dress she got from her cousin Aya for Christmas and planned to wear. She would look like a potato in a dress next to Dazai and not like she was the main person of that extravagant event.
Dazai raised both of her eyebrows and looked at Chuuya in anticipation. “And~? What do you think?” While her cheeks were red due to her excitement, she spun herself around and stepped closer to Chuuya. “It’s probably too much.” She plugged the fabric and sighed.
“No, it looks- you look beautiful in it! You definitely need to wear it!” Chuuya complimented her with a slight blush on her own cheeks. “At least one of us will look good in a dress then.”
Humming thoughtful, Dazai put her index finger on her lips and looked up at the ceiling. “I could borrow a suit from my cousin Yumeno if you’d be more comfortable.”
“Isn’t he like 14 years old?”, Chuuya asked confused and frowned at Dazai. She wasn’t against the thought of wearing a suit instead of a dress but her grandparents would probably kill her on spot for that and she didn’t want their wrath on her more than she already had.
“Yeah, should be exactly your size.” Cheeky, she stuck out her tongue out and dodged the teddy bear Chuuya threw at her. She slipped out of the dress and put it back on the clothes hanger and with that on her wardrobe door. Because she was wearing only underwear again, Chuuya couldn’t look at her. Then out of nowhere she jumped on Chuuya’s lap and grinned at her.
“Wha- Dazai?” Her cheeks were instant dark red and her heartbeat sped up like she just ran a marathon.
“There is one thing we still have to do in order to achieve believableness over the weekend,” she started to explain and positioned herself better on Chuuya’s two legs, her boobs right in front of Chuuya’s blushing face. She looked down to Chuuya and lifted her face by pushing it up with both of her hands put around Chuuya’s cheeks.
Chuuya’s eyes wandered over Dazai’s face and when their eyes met, Chuuya swallowed. Her lips were getting dry and her hands started to sweat while her heart decided to speed up even more and started to skip beats. She bit on her bottom lip and with her thump, Dazai stroked over the soft red skin of Chuuya’s lips.
“It’s just practice don’t get so nervous, Chuuya~”, Dazai teased her friend and had her typical smug smile on her face when she tilted her head slightly and closed the gap between their lips with closed eyes.
Shutting off every function of her brain with the kiss, Chuuya wasn’t able to react. She always wished to have her first kiss with Dazai but now it felt so wrong that her heart ached. It was just an exercise for the weekend for Dazai there were no feelings within the kiss from her side. Nevertheless, she slowly started to kiss her back, putting her shaking hand on her cheek while the other was laying on her hips.
Dazai was the first to break the kiss between them and a thin strand of saliva ripped between them. She happily smiled at Chuuya. Suddenly smirking, Dazai looked at her best friend. “To let it look believable you definitely need more practice.”
Chuuya clicked her tongue. “Fuck off.” She pushed Dazai off of her lap. She licked over her lips and still tasted the sweet taste of Dazai’s lips on hers.
“Ouch, Chuuya!”, Dazai whined and rubbed her butt with both of her hands.
“It’s not like- like we have to-” She failed to swallow the lump in her throat down and when she spoke again her voice was less noisy: “kiss in front of the others.” Chuuya didn’t dare to look at Dazai again and pressed her lips into a thin line.
Crawling on her knees towards Chuuya, she pulled her down on the ground too. “You could stay overnight if you want?”
“I have nothing with me except my school stuff?” Chuuya threw an incredulous look at Dazai. The alternative was to sleep in her small student room but driving home and back was stupid too.
Pouting, Dazai looked at Chuuya. “As if you couldn’t wear my stuff for sleeping and I think I’ll have a spare toothbrush too.”
A resigning sigh was the only answer Chuuya gave Dazai. “You won’t give up, right?”
Smiling innocently at her best friend, Dazai put her hands together under her chin, spread the fingers and just glimpsed at Chuuya.
Chuuya groaned and threw herself on Dazai, both falling back and Chuuya landing on Dazai. “You’re the most annoying thing I know,” she complained and closed her eyes. She smelled so nice and innocent. Like the first warm days in spring, that warm up your winter frozen heart and fill you with new energy.
“I love your hair,” Dazai complimented her hair for the thousandths time since they knew each other and stroked through the soft orange locks.
She always hated the color because she got bullied for it and it always stood out in masses also it was stubborn to care for. With Dazai she learned to love it. “And I love your boobs as a pillow.” It was supposed to be a joke but Dazai’s awkward laugh made Chuuya blush again especially because her brain reminded her of the fact that she still only wore a bra and her panties. “I mean- you know-”
“It’s okay. It’s nice to know someone appreciates them more than as milk bags for a future child I have to bear.” She put her arms around her friend.
Chuuya hugged Dazai slightly in this awkward position. She knew Dazai was anxious about her first heat coming closer like her own birthday and fate. Only that her problem was more unpredictable due to her being an omega. “If ever someone you don’t like lays a hand on you I’ll kill them personally.”
Dazai smiled. “Thank you, Chuuya.”
-☆-
Friday came faster than Chuuya was willing to accept. She was only at home once since Tuesday to get some fresh clothes and everything she would need over the weekend. The journey with the shinkansen was quiet and relaxed too. As far as relaxed could go when your crush fell asleep on your shoulder and slightly drooled on your shirt because they dreamt and mumbled something about the world largest cake. Chuuya herself listened to her favorite rock bands and stared out of the window.
It was weird having a three-day-relationship starting today especially because she never was in a real relationship before either. In addition to that, they have to convince her family that Dazai really was her mate and it wasn’t just a made up lie to escape her grandparents choice of mate. She closed her eyes and leaned against Dazai’s head for a brief moment. Her soft brown locks smelled sweet and tickled her cheek. Chuuya’s brain still screamed at her that she should make the best out of it and at the same time how much she risked and how stupid she actually was. She agreed with the last one the most.
“Dazai?” Chuuya joggled her friend awake, straightened herself better and stretched her body.
“I slept so well, why did you wake me?”, Dazai mumbled sleepy, rubbed her eyes and yawned with her arms stretching in front of her chest.
Why was that girl so cute? With a slight blush on her cheeks, Chuuya answered: “We’re almost there, sleepyhead.”
Like they wanted to agree with Chuuya the name for their station was announced as the next stop in a few minutes.
Chuuya packed her earphones into her small backpack while Dazai put her sweet titbits away. She had snatched a few of the waffles while Dazai was asleep but Chuuya was pretty sure she was eating more of that stuff than ever. Her stomach was a black hole for sweet stuff for sure.
With their small luggage, they made their way to the doors of the shinkansen and waited for it to arrive. Chuuya’s tension rose from zero to maximum. Her heartbeat ran amok while her hands got sweaty and her lips dry. She really wished her confidence would be as high as it was usually but with the pressure of her grandparents in the back, she felt nothing but uncomfortable.
Dazai grabbed her free hand and squeezed it. “Don’t worry.”
She took a deep breath. “I don’t worry about anything,” she lied and freed her hand from Dazai’s grip. It was embarrassing in front of strangers.
“Who do you want to deceive?”, Dazai asked and patted Chuuya’s head, then she waited until the door opened and jumped out of the train. She turned around and took Chuuya’s luggage out of the train, too.
Somehow they weaved through the crowd out of the station and walked towards the bus station where they would take the bus to the Nakahara-Ryukan. They had to wait around ten minutes for the bus and a drive of like forty minutes before they arrived late afternoon. From the bus stop, it was only another three minutes walk to the big wooden gates and Chuuya hesitated half a second before she rang the doorbell. What could possibly go wrong?
“Good Evening, Nakahara-san-” The blond girl which opened the gates for them bowed slightly in front of Chuuya “-and Dazai-san.” She nodded at the brunette girl and took their luggage. “I’ll take care of that. Your grandparents are already waiting for you.” Her voice was tense and she probably felt relieved not to have to go with them.
“Thank you, Higuchi-san.” Chuuya turned around to Dazai and smiled warily at her. “Come on.”
While walking, Dazai intertwined their hands and Chuuya let it happen. It could help to make their point clear. They made their way through the ryukan in the back courtyard and into the big family house. From there they were guided by Kyouka Izumi, a young girl under Kouyou’s care. They didn’t exchange one word on their way through the long floors and when Kyouka had left they were alone in a room with Chuuya’s grandparents and Kouyou.
Chuuya hadn’t realized her grip around Dazai’s hand has gotten tighter with every meter they had walked but when she saw the smile of Kouyou she relaxed a little bit - only to double up her tension when she saw the blank expression of her grandparents.
Her grandmother stepped forward and wrinkled her nose up when she looked at Dazai before she put her attention towards Chuuya. “Your clothes are a disaster.” Her eyes wandered from her head with the beanie she wore down to her shirt with the logo of her favorite rock band on it and her ripped jeans combined with red boots. Chuuya flinched back when her grandmother put a hand on her cheeks and roughly turned it towards her. “And you still don’t use make-up and take care of your chapped lips, girl.”
“Chuuya-”
Dazai wanted to stand up for her friend but her grandfather stepped in before she could say a word more. “I don’t want to hear a word, omega.” How he spit out the last word made clear how low he thought of Dazai. Usually, Chuuya only brought her with her if he wasn’t around but this year was special so all of them were here. She knew how low he thought of Dazai and it hurt to be reminded of it after she drowned that thought successfully.
“Don’t talk to her like that!”, Chuuya growled at her grandfather and stepped in front of the taller girl. Her eyes flashed and her usually bright blue iris got dark like a thunderstorm appeared over the sky. Her body was in an attack position and she was ready to defend her girl.
“Good grief.” Kouyou stepped between Chuuya and her grandfather before it could escalate and laid an arm around her shoulders, the fabric of her kimono stroking over Chuuya’s back. “I’ll make sure she changes into proper clothes and we’ll meet for dinner.” Pushing both girls out of the room, Chuuya only relaxed when they were back in the ryukan.
They walked in silence to what Chuuya thought was their room for the weekend but when she only saw her own luggage in the room together with one futon, she angrily turned around to Kouyou. “Where is her stuff?”, she demanded to know, pointing at Dazai and almost jumped at Kouyou’s throat but could stop herself. Her level of anger was still too high for her own likings.
“She has her own room,” Kouyou explained with a calm voice and entered the room to shuffle some of the fabrics in the wardrobe around and pulling a kimono out of it.
“What the fuck?”
“Chuuya, language.” Kouyou hung the kimono on the outside of the wardrobe and sighed. “You’re grandparents decided that after I told them about your relationship with Dazai.” She threw a glance at the other girl who was only looking around like she wasn’t the main topic right now.
“I fucking don’t care?!” Chuuya’s anger just built up more and more with every second passing.
Dazai stepped behind her and patted Chuuya’s head. “It’s okay, Chuuya.”
“No!” She pushed the hand away and turned around to her fake-mate. “I won’t accept that.”
Kouyou chuckled behind her hand. “I never saw you that possessive, Chuuya.”
The sudden realization made her blush. “I-” She swallowed hard. “Of course- I mean-” She looked over to Dazai but wasn’t able to read her expressionless eyes. “She’s mine and I do- I’ll fight for her.”

After a catastrophic dinner, Chuuya had switched back into more comfortable clothes and watched the stars on the ryukan roof the last hours. It calmed her down even though her thoughts were still a storm inside her brain. The dinner was only to describe as a complete disaster because Dazai was the only omega on the table. Her grandparents and Kouyou were all three alphas and Chuuya was more than once ready to threw her knife at her grandparent’s throat, accidentally of course. Those old bastards made it clear that Dazai was not suitable as a mate for Chuuya and they never let her form a whole sentence.
“You were pretty cool, you know?”
Chuuya got up in a sitting position and turned around to Dazai. The dimmed lights of the onsen were the only thing spending them some light next to the stars on the sky. “Stop teasing me.”
Dazai sat down next to Chuuya and smiled at the sky. “No, I mean it.”
Letting her head down on Dazai’s lap, Chuuya watched the stars on the sky. “I’m sorry it’s my fault because I lied to Kouyou.”
Stroking the soft hair out of Chuuya’s face, she smiled down on her pretty friend. “And I agreed knowing how they feel about me.”
“But it’s even worse now…”
“You’ll get wrinkles if you worry even more,” Dazai teased her and poked her cheek.
Chuuya pulled a sulky face. “I’m getting old in a few minutes anyway.”
“Yeah,” Dazai agreed. “Like eighteen is that old.”
She sat up and turned towards Dazai. “It is! You know what that means!”
Dazai hummed in agreement and smiled at her. “I know, I know but could you please close your eyes for a moment?”, Dazai asked after she had looked at her watch and had the most innocent expression Chuuya ever saw on her.
That made her doubt everything but she closed her eyes nevertheless. The sudden blindness made her nervous and she clung to her sleep pants to calm down a little. What was Dazai planning now? Suddenly she felt something cold around her neck and she was about to open her eyes but Dazai put her hands above to stop her. “Happy Birthday, Chuuya,” she whispered in her ear and Chuuya could feel how her whole body was covered in goosebumps.
“What-” She wanted to ask when she could open her eyes and see the necklace Dazai had put around her neck but her sentence was stopped when she felt Dazai’s lips on her own. It felt soft and sweet the second it lasted.
“Girls, get down from the roof!
Hearing Kouyou’s voice, Chuuya instantly flinched and understood the meaning behind the kiss. It was just to show off in front of Kouyou. Sadness washed over the happiness. "Coming!”
Both girls easily jumped down from the roof and landed in front of Kouyou. “Don’t let that see your grandparents, Chuuya,” Kouyou scolded her lukewarm. Chuuya wasn’t sure what exactly Kouyou meant. The jump or the kiss? Probably both. Kouyou walked towards Chuuya and hugged her tightly. “I wish you all the best for your birthday, Chuuya. May all your wishes come true and your courage never leave you alone.”
“Thank you, Ane-san.”

Even they managed to share a futon overnight - and Chuuya couldn’t sleep for a full hour straight, they were separated the whole day.
Right after the breakfast, Chuuya was busy with the obligatory presents she got from all her family members and family acquaintances. After that, she was taken in for hours of dancing lessons with a teacher they booked especially for today - of course, another alpha. When she finally was able to do the basics of the basics without stepping on his toes, Chuuya got caught for make-up and putting her into the dress. Every time she was about to pass Dazai, she was pulled away before they were able to exchange words.
Even she was always around others she never felt more lonely than today.
When she stared at herself in the mirror she couldn’t believe that was her in the mirror. Kouyou was stepping behind her and had the most precious kimono on her while she herself wore a beautiful black dress with blue accents. “It’s the same blue-”
Chuuya already rolled her blue eyes. It was obvious that her grandparents chose stuff to give her eyes more attention. “I know, I don’t want to hear it now. I think that was the most horrible birthday so far,” she groaned and stepped a few steps backwards, holding the long back part of her skirt up high so she wouldn’t step on it with her high heels accidentally.
“Even worse-”
“Yeah, worse than my tenth birthday when I fell down the ladder and broke both my arm and my leg,” Chuuya interrupted her and when she heard the laugh behind her, Chuuya’s face instantly turned red.
“You never told me about that, Chuuya.” Right in front of her stood Dazai in that beautiful dress she already knew but with having her hair done and with some light make-up - both carried Kouyou’s thumbprint - she was even more gorgeous than last time.
The only thing Chuuya could do was staring at her unable to put words on the way from her brain to her mouth. Then she saw the necklace around Dazai’s neck and it was the same she got as a birthday present from her. With that thought in her mind, she dashed towards the commode and looked for her’s. She was pretty sure, she had it with her other jewellery for today. Panicking because she couldn’t find it, she turned around when Kouyou touched her shoulder.
“It’s here, Chuuya.” Kouyou held it up and smiled when she saw how relieved Chuuya was seeing it. “Come, I help you with it you.” With her long and gentle fingers, she put the necklace around her neck and kissed her hair.
Kouyou’s cold finger on her skin let Chuuya shudder. “Why aren’t you against our relationship?” The question was in her head the whole day but she didn’t plan on asking it right now, it just slipped.
“Why should I be against your happiness?”
Chuuya couldn’t look her into the eyes. She had to tell her the truth tomorrow before they would travel back home. Her stomach never felt worse than knowing she still lied straight into Kouyou’s face. “Yeah, right. We should go. I still have to do the opening dance.” Her blue eyes flattered to Dazai for a moment before she intertwined their fingers and squeezed them slightly.
It would be hard being the focus with Dazai as her dance partner because literally no one had accepted her as her mate but not even her grandparents would break the tradition that the opening dance was with the birthday alpha and their mate. Adding to the problem was that she still struggled a lot and she had to lead the dance because she was the alpha.
The way to the hall felt like it was too long (thanks to her shoes that made her closer to Dazai’s height because Dazai was wearing almost flat shoes) and too short (because her stomach killed her) at the same time. Also, she was embarrassed because her hand sweated so much that Dazai just squeezed it tighter to give her wordlessly more courage.
When they entered the hall, everyone was looking at them like they had waited for the entrance and Chuuya’s stomach twisted even more now. With as much confidence as she could scrape together, she walked towards the smaller stage in the middle of the hall where she would open up the evening together with Dazai, still hand in hand. “Are you okay?”, she whispered over the calm piano-violin music and glanced at Dazai for a brief moment before she took the steps up to the stage without stumbling over her own two feet.
“Probably as much as you are,” she answered with a smile at Chuuya.
On the stage, Chuuya put her hand on Dazai’s hips, the other still intertwined with each other. The music got louder and suitable for the first dance. Her heartbeat sped up to the tenth at least and she took a deep breath before she took the first step forward to lead the dance.
In the beginning, Chuuya concentrated only on her steps but it didn’t take them long to get their own pace suitable to the speed of the music without being out of tact and she thought, that she really enjoyed it for the first time. Though, she wasn’t sure if Dazai did take the lead secretly but either way it was great. She felt so soft and like it was really her day today.
Slowly other couples started to dance around them, Chuuya wasn’t sure who all those people were but she didn’t really care either. They blurred out into some background noise while she danced a second and a third dance with Dazai before they left the smaller stage to blend in with the other couples. At least that was the plan but when she was about to go down the few steps, someone bumped into her. “Sorry-!”, she apologized automatically and flinched back when she saw that spiteful gaze of the man. He was another alpha that made his aura more than obvious.
“Oh, you’re that petit alpha girl.” The bulky man laughed mockingly in her face and then his gaze wandered towards Dazai, clearly visible to her breasts. He was at least a head taller than Dazai and his body was broad under the black suit he was wearing. “Mating with an ugly cow - not really alpha-like.”
A few more people are staring and whispering now.
Chuuya angrily stared at him. She didn’t know who that guy was and she gave a fuck for the info. She would almost bet all her hats that he was someone her grandparents wanted her to pair up with. “Oh, I don’t think that’s one of your concerns.”
“Let me touch her huge funbags.” He was about to squeeze Dazai’s breasts when he suddenly flew through half of the hall.
Chuuya growled at him. “Touch her and I’ll kill you here and now.” Dazai laid a hand on her shoulder to calm her down but it didn’t help at all. “You filthy scumbag won’t lay a hand on her!” Maybe she was small for an alpha but she wouldn’t let anyone ever touch Dazai.
“Chuuya, stop that. Everyone is staring.” Dazai was right. Everyone was staring and even the music stopped.
The small girl looked around her, stepped closer to Dazai. “I suppose you and your three-centimeter dick know what a true alpha is!” Chuuya clicked her tongue and blew a loose hair strand out of her eyes. Still, with all the adrenaline in her body, she grabbed Dazai’s hand and dashed out of the hall with her. She pulled her along until they were out of sight for everyone and the cool air outside helped Chuuya to get a fresh head.
Chuuya turned around and wanted to say an apology to Dazai but before even one letter was out of her mouth, she had Dazai pressed against her lips, both of her hands cupping Chuuya’s face. Her feet gave up on her weight and both girls fell on the ground still kissing. Chuuya closed her eyes and kissed Dazai back. Her heart screamed, her cheeks were flushed red and her whole body was trembling while she clung onto Dazai’s dress and she couldn’t tell if it was due to the fresh evening air or her nervousness combined with the vanishing adrenaline.  "Chuuya-“ Dazai said breathlessly when they broke the kiss to catch some air. "It’s not fake, you know? It never was from the beginning and I’m so sorry.”
Confused, Chuuya looked at Dazai. “What- I don’t understand?”
“I have feelings for you and I couldn’t hold back after you were so protective.” Her smile was a mix between happiness over what has happened and sadness over her own weakness. “Probably since you rescued me from that filthy asshole in our first middle school year.”
Working like crazy, Chuuya felt like her brain would explode any second. “You don’t have a crush on Oda?” That wasn’t what she wanted to ask, it wasn’t even a thought in her brain and still, she said those words like it was the most important question.
“Huh? No? No way. He is way too old for me. Urgh.” She shook her body like it was unbelievable that Chuuya thought something like that. “Besides that, I’m not into men. I really thought you knew that.”
“But-”
“But I was happy with our friendship as it was, that’s the reason I never confessed. Your an alpha and your scary-as-shit grandparents wanted to see you with another alpha- they already made that clear to me the first time we visited them.”
Chuuya looked down on her lap and fiddled with her finger. It was probably able to cook fried egg on her cheeks. “I don’t know what to say, can I just kiss you again?”
Dazai started to laugh and couldn’t stop. “Chuuya- your face-! Hilarious!”
Furiously blushing, Chuuya wanted to make her stop by pushing her own hands over Dazai’s mouth but she slipped with her foot over her dress and crashed into her, Dazai just laughing more and hugging her tightly.
“If you’re my alpha, I may even look forward to my first heat.”
Chuuya just hid against Dazai’s body. “You’re stupid.”
-☆-
It was Sunday and Chuuya was alone in her room because Dazai was playing chess against Hirotsu, one of the Nakahara’s butler. She still needed to pack her stuff but everything she was doing was staring blankly at her wall. She still wasn’t over the fact that their whole fake relationship was the starting point of their real relationship.
They didn’t sleep that night and talked a lot about their past and feelings and it ended in many embarrassing topics Chuuya rather wouldn’t speak about but all the snuggling and kissing made up for it.
A knock on the door threw her back into reality.
“Come in!”, she called and looked surprised at Kouyou. “Oh, good morning, Ane-san.”
“Dazai said, you wanted to talk with me?”, she asked and entered her room and sat down next to her after Chuuya nodded.
“Yeah-” Even if she thought, she would have more time to prepare herself and not so suddenly. “I wasn’t honest about Dazai as my mate.”
Kouyou chuckled. “You can be so straightforward now. Did it change?”
Chuuya nodded again, not able to look her into the face. “I felt bad for lying and-”
Crawling next to Chuuya in her kimono, Kouyou hugged her slightly. “You really thought I’d bought that lie? You’re the worst when it comes to lies. Though- your crush on her was amusing to watch.”
“No- Ane-san-!” In horror, she looked at Kouyou.
“Revenge for lying at me.” She patted her still damp hair and her smile was sad. “When everything calmed down I want to tell you my story but for now enjoy your time with Dazai.”
Then suddenly the door crashed open and Dazai stumbled inside. “Chuuya! Look! Look! Look!” She held a crab plush in the hand. “I got it from Hirotsu-san for winning against him in chess!”
Chuuya smiled at her girlfriend. She could remember the first time she won against him, she got a sheep plush from him. Now she asked herself how he always knew about their favorite animals?
“In two hours I’ll drive you to the train station so be ready by then,” Kouyou said and left them both alone in the room.
