I love the HC that Yona is Aro/Ace and she is 100% for Sidon being with Link cause she is very happy that if she is to be arranged in a marriage, it's one that's perfectly platonic, where Sidon too is happy.
And just Dorephan like... pestering about grandpups... and Yona like "Oh no... I am not pregnant... again... shucks. Damn. This is crazy. Shits crazy. Wow. Did not see that outcome. Insane."
Once the old man kicks the bucket Sidon is totally making it clear he's wed to Link and changing the dumb betrothal laws so Yona doesn't get screwed over either.

Regarding the newest trailer for TotK, I love how quickly we went from being all hyped and exited well we still are both of those things but that's not the point to worrying over what may have happened to Teba and king Dorephan, along with wondering what kind of glowup they've given to Yunobo

hELP I can't unhear "Fish in the sea" shanty being sung by the zora characters from BotW/TotK (both the stellaris sci-fi version and the assasin's crede one). Yes, Sidon is singing the shark verse, why do you ask?

All the Champions’ demises at the Blights’ hands are tragic, but Mipha’s is forever the one that fucks me up the most when we play BotW because out of the group she is the only one that, one hundred years after the Calamity, should not be dead.
By the time that the game is taking place, Urbosa, Revali, and Daruk would have passed of old age even if things had gone right. But Mipha would still be in her early prime. Not even Queen of the Zora yet! Now that’s not to say her death is more compelling simply because she had a longer possible lifespan ahead of her. All of our companions were taken unjustly, too soon. No, what destroys me about her story every time is that…
Mipha has living family and friends.
The others are celebrated among their people, but only the Zora explicitly have citizens who personally remember their Champion. While Daruk has an entire mountain carved in his likeness, Revali has many admirers among the Rito, and Urbosa’s people speak her name with reverence, Mipha is still actively mourned. By people who knew and loved her.
Her now elderly teachers, who remain angry over her untimely loss. Her young-adult peers who recall playing with her and Link as kids. Sidon, who still wears the whistle he had as a child and who, after you complete the Vah Ruta mission, never tears himself from the plaza before his sister’s statue. King Dorephan, who asks Link about Mipha’s fate, because even after a century, he never fully gave up hope that she might be trapped, but alive.
Mipha should not be dead, but she is, and her death remains a fresh wound.
And she knows it, too. And that’s why, even when her spirit is freed, unlike with the others her story has such an air of melancholy amid the eventual triumph. She looks down upon the Domain from atop Vah Ruta, and…
“Father…are you well, I wonder? I want you to know... I have always followed my heart. I'm sorry I made you worry... I wish I could see you again... Even just once more..."
She could be there. With her father, with her little brother who is so big now, and who is trying so so hard to be like his sister. But she’s not. And she is terribly missed in a way that’s unique among the Champions.
God, it just rips my heart to pieces.

DISCLAIMER: TOTK SPOILERS, 18+
Sidon wonders if he had spoken too softly. He expected some sort of reaction from you, even if it wasn’t a dramatic, soul-wrenching one. But your silence comes as a shock to him. Your unreadable gaze penetrates him from where you’re seated by the window in your quarters. Quarters he had specifically modified to house a Hylian such as yourself. Just for you. Fashioned to house you for what he thought would be forever. From the luxurious water bed on one side, where the two of you have shared so many passionate nights, to the cozy, crackling fireplace on the other- it’s all been for you, and him, and what he thought would be your future together.
“Y-you what?” you finally manage, confirming to Sidon that it wasn’t that you didn’t hear him, but that you couldn’t believe what he’d said. He hadn't wanted to tell you until he returned from his diplomatic mission, but he couldn't keep it a secret from you. Sidon's words stick to his throat. They feel barbed, razor-like, cutting his tongue on their way out.
“My father has decided- He’s arranged my marriage,” Sidon repeats, words seeping from his mouth like blood. But he tastes nothing when his tongue grazes over his lower lip, checking for a fresh wound. Still, he tastes metal, haunting and sharp. You’re bathed in moonlight, a silver gloss draping elegantly over your skin. Tonight, you appear to Sidon like an ethereal ghost, distant and untouchable, a curiously beautiful and captivating goddess. Like the moon delivered you to him and has come back this night to steal you away.
“Not only has my father found who he considers to be a ‘suitable match’ for me, but he’s arranged the date of our meeting,” Sidon goes on, wanting to fill this deeply uncomfortable silence with something, anything, “Of our marriage.”
He trails off, glancing down at his feet and willing himself not to shed the tears that are stinging his eyes. He’s always known there was a risk that his marriage would be arranged. You aren’t Zora, you’re not royalty. It was a small chance that King Dorephan would even consider you in the running to marry Sidon. Your duty to Hyrule and Sidon’s duty to his people were always meant to clash. But he never thought it would be something to worry about this soon. His father’s decision to step down from the throne came as a shock, and the decision regarding Sidon’s marriage that much more shocking.
Your silence is killing him, gnawing at his insides, anxiety running rampant in his mind. Say something, anything. Please, he silently begs.
“When?” is all you’re able to question through your stupor. The look he gives you is grave, crestfallen.
“In less than a fortnight,” he almost whispers. He watches as your eyes fall slowly shut, as you clench your fists, your jaw. Every part of you tenses, but not out of anger. You take a deep breath and Sidon can tell you’re trying to hold in your tears. But when you exhale, they start to roll down your cheeks, dripping freely to the floor beneath. Droplets of pure moonlight shimmering as they fall. He rushes to you, scoops you into his arms, your small, Hylian form fitting so perfectly in his embrace.
“I fought for us,” Sidon continues, as if he needs to prove to you that his love is genuine. As if you didn’t already know. Your shuddering sobs into his shoulder seem to shake the very foundation beneath you.
“I fought so hard for us,” he whimpers, holding you closer, tighter, as if he were to let go, the moon would finally take you back to your celestial throne, “But my father wouldn’t agree. He wouldn’t- No matter how much I protested. How much I argued and debated-”
“It’s okay,” you manage through tears, littering Sidon’s face with kisses, “I know you fought. I know you tried as hard as you could.”
Sorrow blooms in every facet of your irises as you stare into Sidon’s gilded ones. If his heart hadn’t shattered in its entirety before, it certainly does now. He opens his mouth to say more, but he realizes he’s not even sure what he wants to say. He can’t reassure you. He can’t even reassure himself.
A knock at your door pulls him begrudgingly from this private moment. An attendant calls out to him, "Your Highness, we should leave before it gets much later."
“They can wait,” Sidon speaks, turning back towards you, not wanting to leave you after such devastating news. You smile softly, shaking your head.
“No they can’t, my darling,” you gently return. He knows it, you know it. His royal duties, his people must always come first. You’ve never quibbled with him about this, something he deeply admires about you.
Sidon presses a deep, lingering kiss to your lips. He can taste the salt of your tears, the salt of his own. He hadn’t even realized he’d shed any until the soft pads of your thumbs wipe them from his cheeks. He gazes at you underneath his furrowed brow, memorizing the features of your lovely face. If you dissolve into moonlight while he’s gone, he would never forgive himself for not kissing you one last time.
“Wait for me,” he breathes when he pulls back, “We'll figure this- something out.” You nod, leaning your forehead against his and closing your eyes. Desperately, Sidon wishes he didn’t have to leave. Not in the middle of such an important conversation.
“I should be no more than a few days,” he promises, giving you one final kiss before he wrenches himself from you and reluctantly slips out of your room. He doesn’t dare look back, knowing your melancholy gaze will destroy him if he does.
***
Sidon's diplomatic meeting with the Rito was a success, though it was mostly just a formality. The Zora and Rito are already on quite friendly terms, so he wasn't too concerned in the first place. The entire trip, however, his mind was preoccupied with you, with marriage, with grief. He's mulled over every possible solution. He contemplates further arguments with his father, knowing full-well that he won’t win them. But for you, it’s most certainly worth a try. He thinks about running away with you, eloping under the light of the moon, starting a new life on some remote island, far away from everything. But he knows he couldn’t leave his people behind, and he is certain that you won’t let him. Sidon could refuse to marry anyone at all, but that would mean he couldn’t be with you. But wouldn’t it be better to live his life alone if he can’t live it with you?
These thoughts swirl endlessly around his mind, a vortex of confusion and possibility. Nothing seems right. He loves you. No one else. He can’t imagine loving someone else. Or growing to love someone else. Up until now, Sidon has imagined spending the rest of his life with you. Of proposing marriage to you, in the customary Hylian fashion. Starting a family together, running the Zora kingdom together. Growing old with one another. Nights spent gazing up at the stars, held close in one another’s arms. Mornings waking up in your warm embrace.
With his father’s decision, all hope Sidon had of making a life with you has been dashed. On his journey home, he tries to come up with some sort of solution, but as the Zora kingdom draws nearer and nearer, the Prince frustratingly comes up with nothing useful.
***
An attendant greets Sidon on the bridge leading into the palace, handing off a small slip of paper before dashing off again. The Prince unfolds the note, recognizing your handwriting immediately. “Meet me in our usual spot,” it reads, followed by a small heart and the first letter of your name. Sidon politely excuses himself from his fellow travelers and bolts off to meet you, hoping that you haven’t been waiting long for him.
By the time Sidon reaches Toto Lake, the moon is hovering high in the night sky, casting swathes of silver light across all of Hyrule. Its reflection wavers on the surface of the lake as Sidon’s keen eyes search for you. He spots you in the lake’s center, gliding through the water, every stroke disrupting the liquid mirror around you. The lake appears to envelope your form, encompassing you almost lovingly. Toto holds so many memories for Sidon. It’s where he sought solace after his sister’s passing. Where he found peace during the devastating years that Calamity Ganon reigned. The temperate waters have provided shelter in his most distressing times. It’s also where Sidon first pledged himself to you, promising his heart to you. And where you promised yours to him. A sacred, secret promise.
Sidon watches you for a moment. You cling to the crumbling ruins in the lake’s center, gazing up at the distant, twinkling stars above, not seeming to have noticed him yet. Crickets chirp in harmony with the nearby ribbits of hot-footed frogs, hiding stealthily amongst the scattered lily pads near the shore. Sidon wonders if this is the last time he’s ever going to see you, a thought that pierces his heart like a vicious barb. He can’t help but notice the pile of bags and personal items that you’ve left in the nearby clearing, like you’re prepared to travel a great distance.
Sidon is pulled from this painful thought when you wave to him, having finally noticed him lingering there. He waves back, somewhat apprehensive, but collects himself before diving into the lake. Sidon swiftly cuts through the water, desperate to reach you, the red of his fin cresting the surface of the lake. He wonders if he’ll reach you in time before the moon summons you home again.
“My darling,” you exhale as he reaches you, pulling you into his embrace and holding you close. You cling to Sidon, the gentle thrum of your heart against his chest reinvigorating him after his long journey home. Why do you puzzle-piece so perfectly into his form? It seems like a cruel, cosmic joke that you would fit so neatly, so completely in Sidon’s arms.
“You’re leaving?” he questions, pulling back to meet your sorrowful gaze. Gently, his large hand cups your cheek, one thumb smoothing over your soft skin. You lean your head to the side, letting your eyelids flutter shut as you press a tender kiss into the palm of his hand.
“I must,” you state just barely above a whisper, a quiver in your voice that threatens to shatter Sidon’s already fragile calm, “I heard word around the palace that your bride-to-be arrives tomorrow.”
This is news to Sidon, news that washes waves of vertigo and anxiety over him. They threaten to drown him, pummel him into the silt and sand until he is nothing more than a smoothed over shell, tossed about in the surf. Sidon steadies himself, taking a deep breath, using your pleasant scent, your warmth as an anchor to this moment. Your cheeks are flushed and when you open your eyes once again, Sidon can tell that you’ve been crying, though you shed no tears in front of him. He wants to beg you to stay, to beseech the moon above and bargain that you might grace him just a little longer with your presence. What would it take for the heavenly bodies to allow you just a few hours longer with him?
“I will not accept that all we’re meant to be are star-crossed lovers,” Sidon states passionately, his tone filled with a steady resolve, “I cannot accept it. Was it not here that I pledged myself to you? And you to me? Was it not here that we promised our hearts to one another?”
“Aren’t we more than just crossing tides?” he finishes. You contemplate this for a moment, before leaning your forehead against his. Beneath the cool sheen of water on your skin, Sidon feels the heat of your blood flowing strong through your veins. Your strength, your poise in this painful time serves as an example to him. He is always put together, always princely and regal. You let him fall apart, without judgement. Sidon can feel his composure fracture at your next words.
“I think we come from the same ancient waters,” you begin, your hands coming to rest on either side of his face, “In some primordial sea, we rode the same tides. Perhaps someday, we shall again. But maybe this time around, we are only meant to flow together briefly, before we part.”
“This cannot be,” Sidon whispers, voice wavering and tears beginning to roll down his cheekbones,“I feel your spirit ebb and flow inside of me. You inhabit me in a way that no one else ever has.”
“I am with you, always. My soul is woven into every fiber of your being. And yours, mine,” you return, and with your exhale, warm tears flow from your bright eyes, “Sidon, I love you, body and soul.”
He can take no more. Sidon crashes his lips into yours, feverish and desperate. You drape your arms over his shoulders, press yourself tightly to him. Perhaps the gracious moon will allow the two of you to merge, to live out the remainders of your lives as one being, one body, one soul.
You wrap your legs around his waist, resting on his narrow hips while he grips your supple thighs. You’re bare to him already, your naked form bathed in silver moonlight. You are glorious, mesmerizing. A bright star, fallen to earth so that Sidon might marvel at your beauty, your mystery before you ascend to your place carved out in the heavens once again.
Sidon can feel his arousal growing as you palm his bulge, claspers pressing against his sheathe. Your warm tongue languidly explores his mouth, breath fanning softly against him. His hands smooth over your slick curves, worshipping every part of you. He commits the plushness of your body to memory, stores your soft moans and tiny gasps so that he might recall them later, in his loneliest hours. The way you breathe his name is holy and nearly brings him to his knees.
“My darling, my pearl,” he whimpers pathetically as you trail kiss after searing kiss along his jawline and down his neck. Your teeth leave their bittersweet marks in his flesh, his talons dragging down your back, agonizing and delightful all at once.
"I will bear your marks for all of time,” he announces, voice husky and low, “And know that I am yours, and you are mine."
“I am yours always. Sidon,” you coo, hand massaging torturously slow over his painful bulge, “In this lifetime, and the next. In all that we should ever exist in together. And even those that we do not.”
Sidon’s fingers tangle in the wet strands of your hair, tugging as he tilts your head so he can have better access to the tender spot of flesh behind your ear. He luxuriates in the lyrical moans that flutter from your lips as he nibbles and sucks at your sensitive skin. His warm tongue drags along your neck, goosebumps appearing in his wake. Your excitement fuels him, thrills him like nothing else does. His fingers find his way to your slick folds, running its length, dousing himself with you.
He can’t contain himself any longer, his claspers freeing themselves from their sheathe. You're quick to grasp one, pumping slow and rhythmic.
“Sidon, please, allow me,” you entreat, your doe-eyed glance up at him only spurring on his arousal. He releases his grip on you, gently setting you back in the water and letting you push him onto a nearby ledge of the ruins. If his people saw him now- oh, the very thought. How un-princely of him- an idea that inexplicably excites him. Prince Sidon- always so put together. Always so collected and proper. Prince Sidon- with the lips of a Hylian warrior, a celestial goddess, around one cock and her hand wrapped around the other.
Your tongue swirls around his swollen tip, making him throw his head back in overwhelming pleasure as you doubly stimulate him. Your hand strokes him at one speed, while your mouth works at another, before you fall into a rhythm with both. Every once in a while, you pause to lick a stripe up either shaft, before diving back in once again. Desperate to have you near, Sidon weaves the fingers of your free hand with his own and grips tight. You squeeze back, letting him know you’re still present, though you seem happily preoccupied with both of his cocks.
“Oh, you work miracles, my love,” he groans, chest heavy with pleasure. He stays your hand, lets you work with just your mouth on one of his claspers. It would bring him no greater pleasure than to come inside you, he explains.
“Your wish is my command, my prince,” you impishly return, mischief glinting in your eyes. You only ever call him, “Prince,” in court, when you have to be more formal. Or in private, when you want to tease him. An electric pulse runs through the length of Sidon’s body at your devilish gaze. You grasp his thighs, nails digging into his flesh. The sensation sends waves of pleasure through him. As your head bobs up and down, Sidon tries his best not to buck his hips into you, but it’s so very difficult. The coil in his core tightens, threatening to snap at any moment. And when it finally does, you help him ride out the electrifying pulses of his first orgasm that night.
***
A burst of salt hits the back of your throat. Bright brine graces your tongue. Your chest feels warm as you swallow, like your body is trying to imbue itself with Sidon. Like you're trying to weave him into every fiber of your being. His ragged breath is music to your ears as you slide your mouth off him. With a wet pop you release him, a string of spit connecting him to you. A connection tenderly wiped away by one of Sidon’s massive thumbs. When you glance up at him, his eyes are dark with lust, slitted pupils wide in pools of molten gold. Sidon’s cheeks are rosy and his body temperature warm, so very warm compared to his usual chill.
You hardly have a moment to catch your breath before Sidon draws you up to him, smashing his lips against yours. Your nails dig into the hard muscles of his back, his streamlined body pressed so deliciously against yours. Your heat is throbbing, every ounce of you heavy with arousal. Carefully, Sidon flips you over, laying you ever so gently on the slab of rock beneath. Your head is cradled by some of the snaking ivy growing on these ancient ruins. Sidon gazes down at you, eyes glimmering in the night. His look is one of curiosity, awe. Though he’s seen you bare to him so many times before, he looks at you like it’s the first time.
“I am at your mercy,” he hushes, sweeping strands of your hair out of your face, before leaning down to tenderly press his lips to yours. He lays kiss-upon-kiss over your cheeks, down your neck, along your collarbone. Featherlight, he trails his lips down your chest, suckling gently on each of the pert buds of your nipples. His sharp teeth graze them softly before he makes his way down your abdomen. His hands knead your hips, cup and massage your breasts as his mouth reaches your heat. He wouldn’t dare tease you, but he can’t help nibbling at your thighs a bit, leaving little love-bites in his wake. After a moment of reveling in your plush inner-thighs, Sidon turns his attention to your pussy. His tongue is languid, warm, as he drags it along your folds. The moan that escapes your lips is salacious. You hear Sidon growl with excitement. He flicks his gilded gaze up at you before he softly kisses the sensitive nub of your clit.
Sidon dives into you, lapping up your arousal like it’s his lifeblood. Like he simply cannot survive without the taste of you. He savors you, tongue slowly circling your clit, testing your entrance. You squirm under the firm grasp he has on your hips, bucking into him, causing him to chuckle at your eagerness. He hoists your legs over his broad shoulders, burying his head deeper into you. Sidon drinks you in like he’s parched. With each of your tiny mewls, you feel Sidon’s happy hums reverberating through your body.
“Sidon, please,” you whine, smoothing one hand over the sleek fin atop his head, “I need to feel you in me.”
He withdraws, the cool night air hitting your overheated folds surprising you. You gasp at its harshness, but Sidon is quick to replace the loss of heat with his hand, palming your sensitive pussy. When his lips meet yours, he tastes of you.
“My darling, I’m yours. Entirely, completely. Every part of me. All parts of my soul,” he promises, his voice filled with conviction, with an aching passion.
“I am yours, Sidon,” you return, breathless and longing, “Forever and always.”
Tenderly, he spreads your legs, letting you wrap them around his waist, placing a large hand on the small of your back to help angle you. The stars overhead seem so close, so clear, like you’re encompassed in an endless dome of them.
“Are you ready, my love?” Sidon asks, his cheeks flushed, breaths laborious. You nod enthusiastically, more than ready for him. He’s so slick, he slips into you with more ease than you expect. But he’s so big, you can feel him stretching out your entrance. He goes slow, gentle, allowing you ample time to adjust. Every few moments he asks if you’re alright. You stabilize yourself, arms slung around his chest, hands resting on his sinewy back. He’s cool to the touch, a sheen of water over his skin.
With one of Sidon’s cock’s inside you, the other rests against your stomach. It’s hard again already, having recovered fast from your earlier ministrations. You grasp it gently, pumping rhythmically with Sidon’s rocking motions. A sultry moan falls from his lips at this double stimulation.
Sidon grinds slow and shallow for a while, before pressing deeper into you. You let go of the clasper resting against your stomach, allowing it to rest against you. With every pump into you, Sidon’s cock presses against the soft pad of your cervix. The pleasure is intense, your body quivering with each voltaic charge Sidon pulses into you. The heat generated between you is overwhelming, your bodies trying so desperately to merge into one. Your fingernails dig into his back, his talons into your thighs. Sidon buries his head into the crook of your neck, suckling little bruises, marking you. He delights in the way your breasts bounce with every motion.
Goddess, please, let the moonlight fuse us into one, he begs, but he knows this cannot be. The two of you try your very best to do it yourselves.
As Sidon grinds into you, the grip you have on his back prompts him to pick up his pace.
“My darling, my pearl,” he manages to whisper, his breathing heavy, “You are, and always shall be, the light of my life.”
“You are my moon, my stars, my light in the darkness,” you return, voice constrained by the taut coil in your core. Your walls quake around Sidon’s quivering cock.
“Ha,” he huffs, pounding harder into you, “So close, my darling.”
And so are you, but you can’t speak. For a moment later, the straining coil in you springs loose. Sidon’s name echoes through the clearing, a prayer in this ancient water temple. You cream around Sidon’s cock as he falls apart, his pace erratic as his hot cum fills your cunt. You feel even more paint your stomach, threads coating your abdomen from his other cock. Sidon calls out your name, a hymn to match yours. Sidon wonders if the moon hears the adoration, the infinite love in his voice. You know it does.
When you’ve milked him for everything he’s worth, when he’s spent himself entirely inside you and on you, you pull Sidon down, crashing your lips into his. Feverishly, the two of you press kiss after kiss to one another, heated and yearning. You let the silence wash over you, grateful for the cool night breeze on your overheated bodies. After a while, Sidon gently pulls out of you, cock slick with your combined efforts. He pulls you into his embrace, cradling you in his arms. You belong here, enveloped by him. Enveloping him. How could the Goddess be so cruel to make you fit so perfectly, only to take you away from him?
“Leave in the morning,” Sidon begs, pressing a small kiss to the corner of your lip, “Please, stay one more night. Besides, it’s not safe.”
You shake your head, a rueful smile on your lips and sorrow in your eyes, “If I don’t leave now, it’ll be that much harder for me to leave tomorrow. And don’t worry, Zelda has sent forth people to retrieve me. They’ll be here within the hour. I’ll be okay.”
Sidon’s heart can’t drop anymore, but if it could, it certainly would. He’s not sure what he expected to feel after everything that’s happened. The depth of his melancholy is too great for him to understand at the moment. It will take time for him to process. He doesn’t feel numb. No, instead he savors your embrace. He holds you close, littering your face with kisses, gently stroking your back while you rub small circles into his. If he could live in this moment forever, he would.
A horn blows in the distance, drawing the two of you out of your tender sanctuary in time. In the distance, you see lights on the bridge of the palace. It’s a Hylian caravan of guards, no doubt from the palace. No doubt sent here for you. You cling to Sidon’s back as he swims the two of you to shore.
“I wish you could whisk me away on your back. I wish we could just keep swimming and not look back,” you murmur to him, laying a gentle kiss on his fin.
“I do, too,” is all he can manage, trying so very hard not to shed any more tears. You dress quickly and Sidon helps you gather all your things. These are your last moments together. The bitter sweetness sticks in Sidon’s chest, viscous like tree sap, clinging to his ribs. Hand-in-hand you walk back down the cliff side and make your way to the bridge. Just out of sight of the Hylian caravan, you pull Sidon aside and lay your lips against his one more time. Your kiss is passionate and conveys every immense bit of your love for him. He hopes you can feel the same from him.
When you pull back, your eyes are filled with adoration. And his with sorrow and love. You smile softly.
"The sea will carry us to one another,” you begin, tears trickling down your cheeks, “Time and again. I will find you in the next life, where our tides will be one and the same."
Sidon leans his forehead against yours, allowing his tears to fall freely.
“My heart belongs to you, always,” he breathes, “You reside in me, sheltered and safe.”
“You will always find a home in my heart,” you return, pressing one final kiss to his lips. Your hand lingers in his for a moment, before it slips from his grasp. Prince Sidon of the Zora watches your form grow smaller and smaller on the horizon, before it disappears behind the cliff sides, and he is left alone once again.
A/N: Okay, don’t get me wrong, I actually think Lady Yona is adorable and I have all sorts of plans for some OC/Sidon/Link/Yona headcanons and drawings. But I couldn’t resist writing some Sidon/Reader angst!!!!!! Oh gosh, if I ever decide to do a follow up, there's just too many good options. a) Sidon refuses the arranged marriage and declares that he's marrying you, against his father's wishes b) Sidon decides to runaway with you and you live out the rest of your lives on a secluded island c) Sidon goes through with the marriage and you go your separate ways or, perhaps my favorite option, d) you, and Sidon, and Link, AND Yona become a happy little polycule because that would be adorable and wonderful (and I've said it before, but I'll say it again, if you know me, you know I love anything poly!!!!!!) Thank you so much for reading! This was a delight to write, though it definitely filled me with a lot of sadness. As always, likes and reblogs are greatly appreciated! Hope you are all doing amazing! Lots of love 💜

💕🍰 A Treat for the Prince 🍮🦈
(Prince Sidon x Chubby!Fem!Reader)
You and Sidon attend a royal banquet. You're instantly drawn to the vast array of desserts, but your lover wants to indulge in something even sweeter...
Contents: bad dessert innuendos, body worship, breast touching/sucking, oral (fem recieving), multiple orgasms, overstim, vaginal sex, double penetration (Sidon has 2 dicks), rough sex, little bit of breeding kink, uhhh and our Prince loves thicc Hylian ladies!
(Notes: Here we go! The first of (hopefully) many Sidon x reader fics from yours truly!)
As King Dorephan gave his speech, you tried your best to pay attention, though your eyes kept drifting to the large display of food on the table before you. It was a celebration banquet for the citizens of Zora's Domain, so they went all-out. Celebrating Bazz's promotion to Sergeant of the Royal Guards, welcoming the new head physician for the domain, Yona, and, of course, honouring yourself as the newly-named official consort for the Prince of the Zora.
You glanced up to Sidon, who immediately met your eyes and gave you a smile. The title of consort was simply a formality, you and Sidon were already far, far closer than that, though that was a secret just the two of you kept. The bitemarks on your shoulders from last night were proof enough of that. You hid them well under a soft cloak that complimented your silk dress beautifully. It was a sapphire blue that matched the jewels decorating the Prince's armour. The fabric hugged your soft middle in a way that made the Prince's eyes keep running up and down your lovely form. You flushed under his gaze, and gave him a look that said "Later."
King Dorephan finished his speech and the room applauded. Everyone took their seats and you followed suit, sitting next to Sidon and smiling at the bountiful feast everyone could enjoy. Naturally it featured fresh seafood, but there were also several Hylian dishes to suit your palate. You took a little of everything, making sure you'd have room to enjoy the desserts you could spy off to the side.
Sidon took your hand under the table, "Is everything to your liking, my droplet?" He spoke softly, lest anyone hear the endearing pet name.
You hummed around a forkful of salmon marinated in herbs and stambulbs, "It's magnificent, my Prince." You smiled brightly.
Sidon matched your smile, "Wonderful! I'm glad you enjoy it," he gestured to some crab cakes on his plate, "I've never had these before, they're quite good! I never knew Hylian food was so rich!"
You laughed a bit and politely wiped your mouth with a napkin, “It shouldn’t concern you, my Prince, with all the swimming you do, you can indulge for a night.”
“I’m not concerned, and you shouldn’t be either,” Sidon brushed your leg with his own and you shivered at the rough texture of his skin, he leaned down to whisper to you, “I do so love watching you indulge in the finer things in life~” he slid another helping of fish onto your plate and you flushed.
Sidon sat back in his seat, as though nothing happened, and he turned to interrupt Muzu, who was beginning to say something like “What kind of royal consort is served by the prince!?”
You kept eating, enjoying the flavours of the different types of fish mingling with vegetables and herbs. Before long, the entree plates were emptied and cleared away, and plates full of decadent-looking desserts were brought out.
Sidon hummed, looking at the treats, “Oh my, I haven’t seen any of these, either! Let’s see, y/n?” you looked up as he said your name, “Which of these would you recommend?”
You swallowed, not having seen this many desserts in one place before. You surveyed the selection before your eyes caught on a simple white ramekin. You smiled and picked it up, “I think you’d enjoy this one, my Prince!” you set it before Sidon and handed him a spoon, “It’s called crème brûlée. It’s custard with burnt sugar on top.”
Sidon looked at the dish curiously, “It’s burnt… on purpose? Intriguing,” he went to scoop some out, and he grinned when the top crust cracked, “Oh! It shattered!”
You smiled up at him as he tried a bite. You loved watching him indulge, too. He was always so worried about the Kingdom and his responsibilities, you always adored when he simply relaxed. You were very good at helping him relax, after all.
Sidon’s eyes widened, “This is simply perfect! It’s creamy and sweet, and the top is very crunchy and it has a different flavour entirely!” He hummed and looked at you, his eyes becoming half-lidded, “You know… this treat reminds me of you.”
“O-oh?” you felt your heart skip a beat at the heated look in the prince’s golden eyes, “How do you mean?”
Sidon ran his spoon through the silky custard cream, “It’s so sweet, and soft…” one of his hands squeezed your thigh through your dress, making you jump slightly. You could see his sharp teeth glint in the low candlelight as his low voice, only loud enough for you to hear, rumbled from his chest, “and so delightfully fun to break~” the spoon cracked the top of the brûlée and you felt a jolt go through your body as his claws poked into your plush thigh, no doubt leaving pinpricks in your dress.
“Is everything okay, y/n? Your face is positively red?” Sidon asked louder, feigning ignorance. You could see the cheeky, lusty look in his eyes still.
You cleared your throat, “I-I’m fine, thank you, my Prince.”
“Ah, I see the problem, you haven’t had any dessert yet,” Sidon laughed, “Go ahead, have whatever you’d like!”
You looked at the variety of the desserts still on the table, eyes being drawn to a personal-sized red velvet cake tiered with icing and wildberries. You smiled and set it in front of you, giving Sidon a coy smile of your own, “Hm, what a coincidence, this one reminds me of you.”
Sidon looked down at you after taking a sip of his drink from a tall glass flute, “Is that so, droplet?”
You licked your lips, “It’s red and rich and delicious…” you brought a forkful to your mouth and looked at your beloved through your lashes, “and I don’t know if it can all fit inside me.”
Everyone at the table turned your way as Sidon shattered the stem of his glass with the way his hand clenched. You hid your grin with a mouthful of cake, not caring about the cold liquid spilled on your lap. He covered his fluster with a cough and a laugh.
“O-oh! How clumsy of me! I spilled my drink all over y/n’s dress!” he laughed and took your hand, “It simply won’t do for my consort to be in such a state! Come, let’s get you cleaned up.”
Without another word (although with some cut-off protests from the other nobility at the table), Sidon whisked you away from the banquet and straight towards his (and your) quarters.
You giggled as he hastily locked the bedroom door behind him and fixed you with a lusty gaze.
“My naughty little minx,” he purred, caging you in against the bed, “You really know how to make me lose control.” He leaned down to capture your lips with his own and you moaned as you felt his huge hands run up your plush form, your dress bunching up at the sides, the silky fabric sliding up your body sensually, delighting the sensitive nerves of your sides and tummy. Your prince’s hands wasted no time and started feeling up your newly-exposed skin. Sidon’s tongue explored your mouth, the different flavours of caramel and berries mixing into an intoxicating sweetness.
“Sidon,” you breathed as he released your mouth, hands reaching up to undo your cloak. As the fabric fell away, the Zora let out a pleased rumble and started showering wet kisses to your shoulders and neck, “Ah, that feels so good!”
Sidon laughed roughly against your skin, “As sweet as that dessert was, I much prefer devouring you, my sweet~” He groaned as his hands dipped under your panties, getting two handfuls of your ass. You gasped as his sharp teeth grazed the tender bitemarks he left on you last night as he groped you roughly. “You drive me absolutely wild…” he panted, breath hot against your neck.
“Let me,” you put a hand on his chest and the prince pulled away just enough to let you completely pull off your blue dress, tossing it to the side. Sidon’s eyes were downright hungry as you reached behind you to unclasp your bra, leaving your top completely bare, “Come here?” you fell back on the bed, sandals coming off of your feet, and reached out to him, needing his hands on you again.
Sidon took a steadying breath and removed his cravat and armour pieces, watching you watch him with an equally greedy, needy desire. He set the pieces on his dresser and nearly launched himself at you. Your mouths met in a messy, desperate kiss, your arms around his strong neck and his hands exploring every dip and curve on your gorgeous, soft body. Your tongue ran over his teeth, and Sidon rumbled as he tasted some of your blood on his own tongue.
“So delicious,” he purred, moving down your body, trailing his long tongue down your body, leaving sucking bites all over your plush form. He lapped at your nipples, teasing the buds until they were stiff before pinching them roughly making you squeal. He grinned up at you, “Such a gorgeous reaction. I adore playing with you like this, droplet~” you squirmed in his hold, moaning in pleasure as he sucked dark marks into the soft, tender flesh of your breasts.
You were shivering in his hold, moaning into the cool air of the room. Sidon nuzzled into your belly, kissing right under your navel, once a part of your body you disliked, but that opinion swiftly changed when your lover told you how much he loved it.
Sidon held your thick thighs apart and grinned. Your face flushed hot as you realized he must be looking at your completely-sodden panties. He looked up, meeting your eyes with his own heated, golden gaze. You could see his teeth glint in his smile as he trailed his tongue up the sensitive skin where your thigh met your pelvis and he let out a rough growl as his teeth caught on the fabric of your panties, snapping the thin material and making you gasp. He repeated the action just as slowly and sensually, leaving your panties tattered and your pussy exposed.
“Mm, I love seeing you like this,” he breathed, hot breath washing over your most sensitive part and making you whimper, “This is by far my favourite treat in the world…”
Your head rolled back in the pillows and you moaned as Sidon’s thick, slippery tongue slithered up your pussy, collecting your juices and bumping into your hard little clit. You reached down and held Sidon’s head, gentle on the sensitive fins even as your mind went numb from pleasure. You struggled not to use your thighs to hold him in place, and he must have felt them quaking. Sidon groaned into you and used his hands to grope your thighs, bringing them to lock around his head. He pulled off enough to whine, “Please, please, my love! I love feeling these juicy thighs around me,” he smiled, grazing his teeth over your inner thighs, “I want you to hold me down until you cum for me~”
You cried out, thighs holding Sidon in place as he went back to work, teasing your lips and clit, with his tongue, slurping so loudly it made your face flush in embarrassment. Your prince was loud, too, letting out loud groans as he ate you, his hips grinding into the mattress beneath you. You gasped as his tongue finally slithered inside you, teasing your gummy walls and reaching deep, deep inside. You writhed in the sheets, Sidon’s hands holding your thighs around his head and keeping you where he wanted you. Your hips started grinding down on his tongue, urging it further inside. His teeth grazed your clit and your eyes rolled back, crying out as orgasm rippled through your body. Sidon moaned with you, his tongue held taught, letting you ride it through your pleasure. Your body went limp and Sidon pulled away from you. As you came down from your high, you looked at him and saw him lick his lips lewdly.
“So very delicious~” he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and straightened up, kneeling on the bed. You could see both of his cocks already starting to protrude from their slit.
You panted and readjusted yourself amongst the pillows, opening your arms, “Come here, my Prince,” you called with a lusty smile, “I want seconds.”
Sidon smiled and crawled above you, “Oh, my sweet little droplet, I’ll give you anything you desire,” he held up your hips to align with his claspers, the long, tapered, tendril-like lengths stretching up to tease over your sopping-wet lips, “do you know what I’m going to do to you, darling?”
You bit your lip and shook your head, pretending not to know exactly what he was planning. (hint: it’s the same thing he did last night, and the night before, and the previous morning…)
Sidon groaned as his hands started groping your sides again, moving you to line up his cocks with your pussy, “I’m not only going to fuck you,” the word was spoken roughly and it made your heart skip a beat. He never swore unless he was with you~ “I’m going to stuff you. I’m going to stuff you so full with my seed that you’ll be dripping with it, so full that you’ll become addicted to the feeling of being a sweet little depository for my cum.” He panted harshly, his hips grinding his cocks against you, bumping your oversensitive little clit and making you whine at the feeling and his filthy words, “Do you want that, my droplet?”
You nodded, feeling like you were losing your mind, “Yes, please! Please, Sidon, fill me up!” you panted, rocking your hips down. You cried out as just the tips breached your well-lubricated pussy.
Sidon snarled and grinned, holding your hips above the bed with his superior strength, “Get ready, darling,” He groaned as he slowly eased both cocks inside you, letting you adjust when they were halfway in, “Oh, gods, my droplet, you’re so hot inside!” he cried out.
You cried out and panted, adjusting to the twin lengths inside you. You could feel them squirming around inside you, looking for a place to hold you open as you were bred. The thought alone made you feel hotter and you nodded, needing Sidon to fulfill his promise and stuff you full.
Sidon eased his hips forward, his cocks delving as deep as they could go before they spread. You screamed and gasped as a second orgasm rocked your body. You whined and urged Sidon to keep going. The prince let out ragged breaths, letting out a rough groan as he was fully inside you, and he started pumping his hips, cocks drawing in and out, in and out, his hips smacked into your own, and he looked down at you, vision hazy with lust, as he saw your thighs, stomach, and tits jiggle with each movement, “Fuck, my droplet, my… princess! Fuck!” His eyes dilated, the gold of his irises barely visible as he lost himself to the pleasure. The lingering taste of your juices, your blood, your dessert on his tongue, the scent of you, powerful in this room from the nights you spent sleeping in the sheets, the feeling of your soft body welcoming him in, your hot, wet, tight pussy embracing his cocks and begging him to breed you, to fill you, to stuff you. It was all too much.
Sidon roared and moved, holding your legs up to your shoulders, and you could see him grin as he easily maneuvered you into a mating press. He started slamming into you, cocks flexing and reaching deeper than his tongue could, sliding against your sweet spot and teasing your cervix with every rough thrust. He leaned over you and he pounded you, hot breaths ragged against your neck as he growled more filth into your pointed ear.
“You’re mine! This body, all of this gorgeous body is all mine!
“You're so lovely, my sweet droplet! I need you, I need you so badly, all the time! I want you like this every day!
“My darling, I’m going to fill you up, you'll come un-done! Around me, and, and, unggh, I’m going to- going to-!”
You grabbed Sidon’s head and smashed your lips together, not caring how his sharp teeth cut your lips, tongues warring as he came. You gasped into his mouth at the feeling of his thick and heavy cocks unloading into you, his thick seed pouring into your womb as his chest rumbled against your own thundering heartbeat. One of Sidon’s giant hands came down and started roughly rubbing your clit, sending you over the end for the third time that evening. You whined and shuddered against him, toes curling in the sheets.
“My beautiful princess, my sweet droplet…” Sidon panted and held your cheek, “I love you so much…”
You held his hand and kissed inside his palm, “Oh, my Prince, I love you too, with all my heart…” your vision was bleary, but you could see how tender the prince’s smile was for you. Only for you.
Sidon lowered your legs and you whimpered, startling him, “Oh! Dear, I was too rough on you, wasn't I?” He looked ashamed.
You reached out and pulled him back against your chest, “No, you were perfect~” you giggled and kissed him again, sweeter this time. Sidon sighed pleasantly and licked up the dried blood on your lips.
“Everyone is probably worried about us,” Sidon said with a half-smile, “But I don't quite want to leave yet.”
You hummed, “Oh? And why is that, my Prince?” You teased and flexed around his cocks, still inside you, getting hard again.
Sidon purred and ground his hips into yours, “I don't think you're quite full yet~”

Why TotK fails Zelda
Heads up, this is a long post. Ive cut this down like a motherfucker but it still reads very long. My thoughts are divided into four main categories;
1. Her relationship with her magic & tech
2. Her relationship with Hyrule
3. Her relationship with Link
4. Her relationship with the player
Also, these are my opinions, I'm certain there are people with far better analysis skills than me! I am just in love with this franchise and a little disappointed with the recent game. Zelda as a character holds a special place in my heart and its sad that her character was done dirty like this.
Theres a TLDR at the end and before I forget, SPOILERS!!!
1. Her relationship with her magic & tech
Zelda is not someone who magic came easily to, and I think BotW & AoC did a great job exploring that. They contrasted her natural interest with the sheikah technology and her lack of power and it was 😘👌
How did TotK do? With the Zonai tech being the main selling point, how would Zelda, a scholar at heart, interact with it? To my memory, the only interaction she has is to put Mineru's soul into a piece of Sheikah tech and hand it to a construct.
Well what about magic? Finding out she has light AND time powers was at first a great throwback to OoT with the Sage of Time. The fact that her Time magic awakened immediately unlike the Light magic in the last game was a nice contrast. But then, she immediately has a similar dilemma, she can't USE her magic to propel herself forward because she doesnt know how. Unlike BotW though, she has the "mother" she was lacking to teach her. This was a decent set-up. It was different enough to be its own thing but still was familiar enough. This is up to memory 4 - Mineru's Council
The issue the NEXT MEMORY, memory 5 - Gerudo Assualt shows her being even more proficient than Sonia. We don't see her train, or struggle, or even ask a question about how the stone works. She just does. It's not until memory 8 do we see her get any guidance about her powers? And even then we don't see her attempt recall at all. In the next memory she simply uses it perfectly and effortlessly.
The purpose of her strengthening Time Magic was to get back home. Yet, she gets back home by swallowing a sacred stone, that she already had the ability to do at any point. She turns into the LIGHT dragon, using her LIGHT magic to strengthen the Master Sword. Her whole arc about her magic was pointless because in the end she used the powers from the previous game for everything important.
2. Her relationship with Hyrule
Positives first! Its clear that Zelda loves her people, and during the 7? year gap she obviously took the time to connect with them and problem solve. Penn's quest really demonstrates this, and so does the Hateno school quest. (Even if the children don't believe in the Calamity). I found it very endearing that the people had such faith in her, that even with Ganondorf causing havoc with her face, people refused to believe it. The Great Fairies MUST have seen wrong because it was dark, Dorephan MUST have been mistaken, the Stable Trotters MUST have seen someone else - Zelda wouldn't do that.
I additionally liked that Zelda wasn't immediately trying to set up a monarchy again. In fact, she seemed to be doing the opposite. She wasn't living in Central Hyrule, at Looking Landing, she was living in Hateno. She was a teacher, and on some level a researcher (even if the Don Dons were scrapped ideas from the first trailer).
But the second she goes to the past, she is put back in her box. Her interests in tech are non-existant, she does not interact with anyone who isn't royalty, the King doesn't listen to her about Ganondorf and tells her to not to worry - after all she's just supposed to wear that white dress and hope her magic works soon. She's regressed back to before the Calamity, waiting for something terrible she knows is coming and is powerless to stop.
Crucially, she doesn't speak to Ganondorf once.
This is by far the most egregious waste of their characters in my opinion, and I've just deleted a 3 paragraph Ganondorf discussion - another time. But come on! This is legitimately the PERFECT scenario for Zelda to find about about WHY people opposed her royal family, WHY everyone she's ever loved died in Calamity caused by this guy, WHY she's had to go through all this. But no, if they did talk, it wasn't on screen.
Ive seen in translations of parts of one of the interviews with a developer saying she was able to see what a ruler should be like by going to the past, but until a see an official source I'm going to hope that's not true
3. Her relationship with Link
"Link is still entrusted with the role of protecting Princess Zelda." - Hidemaro Fujibayashi https://www.npr.org/2023/09/13/1199307678/zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-dlc-video-game. Maybe I'll write a post about Link sometime, but I'm focusing on just him and Zelda.
Whether you ship the two or not, the pair would obviously have a unique bond from both fighting the Calamity and losing the Champions/everyone. So, how did the pair cope with the destruction of everything the love? How did Zelda come to terms with the ruins of Castle Town, the harsh reality of all those who were dead? Zelda doesn't have Link's amnesia to temporarily soften the inital blow.
TotK explores none of this.
Similarly, there is a level of formality on how Zelda speaks of Link. When she tells Rauru of Link she starts, "He is a royal knight. He had been originally appointed for my protection, but later he became a hero by saving both me and Hyrule from a great evil". Not "he and I became close" or even "he became my friend". Zelda is talking to the two people closest to her right now,
All their interactions are the bare minimum.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Link has ALWAYS been a self insert for the player, but he's still a character, and more recently Nintendo has been acting like having emotions means a player can't project onto them. Zelda is Link's closest person, and when she returns he is piece of cardboard, at least help her up!
4. Her relationship with the player
First, as everyone who played BotW will know, many things were removed or changed in TotK to allow it to be standalone for new players. Sheikah tech was removed, important characters forgot Link, the majority of the last game was rarely if ever mentioned. Kass
However TotK does not properly establish Link and Zelda for new fans AND doesnt not elaborate for old fans. They interact twice until the end - the intro and memory 1. All of her characterisation is in that little history moment, the rest of it is 50% sacred power lore and 50% time power lore. Additionlly, anyone who is new to the game has no context for her light powers.
Actually, TotK literally retcons her light magic to be from Rauru and not Hylia. Which was the WHOLE POINT of BotW so great sequelling there guys.
TLDR: The Conclusion
Wow, you made it this far. Or you skipped to end, I would too. My main gripes with Zelda:
> She doesn't interact with Zonai Tech.
> Her arc is about learning time power to go home, only for her to not use said magic and instead use the light magic from the last game to fix the sword and be a light dragon.
> Having her worries about Ganondorf shot down by the King and not holding her ground/ insisting (did you learn nothing from Rhoam??)
> never interacting with Ganondorf him being in Hyrule as a diplomat
> nintendos approach to her and link, they dont once touch while both conscious. Not even a handshake or pat on the shoulder. See images above with prev. Zelda and Link.
> the instance on making it not complicated for accessibility to new players, but also not fleshing it out enough to be compelling on its own.

His Little Grace
Prince Sidon x Hylian hyperfem! reader
Fic description: As Ganon’s minions infiltrate the Zora Domain, you, a weary, small, gentle traveler, are caught in a rut, on the brink of death, not being able to face creatures corrupted by the calamity on your own. The kind prince of Zora, Sidon, accompanies you, protecting you from the monsters. The two of you eventually are drawn into something more…
Tw: 18+ MINORS DNI, shark anatomy, omegaverse biology, breeding kink, sub-coded/super bottom hyperfeminine reader, SIZE kink, kind of non-canon breath of the wild, protective sidon, damsel in distress trope, rough sex, shark love bites, some sidon x link as well, pls reblog and help a writer out!!
Omegaverse rules:

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was a rainy morning in the Zora Domain, 7 o’clock to be exact. The rain battered alongside the icy pathways, the waves crashed below. The King, Dorephan, sat on his throne, concerned due to the noises heard outside the domain. The King has summoned some of his attendants and soldiers, including Link, the Hylian Champion. The King voiced his concerns to the group, saying that the noises sound like an attack on the kingdom; possibly Vah Ruta and guardians back under Ganon’s control. Link volunteers to go inspect the area outside the domain, in Upland Zorana. Sidon burst through the archway.
Father! What horrible news! I have heard that Ganon is possibly attacking the kingdom again! It is preposterous! Let me know what I can do to protect the kingdom!,” the shark smiles, winking and flexing his bicep, his signature look. “My son. Perhaps you can swim down the river, and see what is in the Lananryu Wetlands, closer to Central Hyrule, near the entrance to our domain,” the King suggests. “Of course,” Sidon agrees, and bids a goodbye to Link, whom he did have relations with. Sidon would never admit due to his pride, that he had a soft spot for Hylians. They were so tiny, so soft. The opposite of him. Link was his best friend, and sometimes lover. Link was a beta, however. Sidon, as an alpha, really yearned for a Hylian that was an omega. He wanted to feel one, experience being with one. As biology said, alphas and omegas were made for each other, regardless of race in Hyrule. Same or interspecies, it did not matter. Yet, Sidon failed to find a female, omega, counterpart to his sweet Link’s beauty.
He waved to Link, telling him to be safe, before watching him use Revali’s Gale to fly up into Upland Zorana. Sidon swam down the river, watching as electric Lizalfos, electric chu-chus, and golden bokoblins prowled around the plains, at the side of the river. “So many monsters…,” he thought to himself, swimming faster, hoping not to run into them. He swam to the bridge at the outskirts of Tabahl Woods. He saw a crowd of Black moblins, shrieking, with Dragonbone weapons, attacking something on the ground. He looked a little closely, barely visible to the monsters. He saw that they were attacking a Hylian. A very small one at that. He growled, jumping onto the bridge, facing the moblins, and took a few of them out swiftly, using his muscles and sharp teeth.
After throwing the last moblin down into the waterfall, Sidon comes closer to inspect the Hylain, to see if they were okay. A sickeningly sweet smell has hit him. He crouched down, taking a closer look. A very small Hylian woman, laying on the bridge, gravely wounded. Her blood, her body, smelled so good to him… could it be? An omega?
He stops his dirty mind from trampling him, and gently picks up the Hylian. Placing her in his arms, he swims up the river as fast as he could, eager to get her into the domain, so she could be properly healed and taken care of.
He reaches the domain, swimming up the waterfall, careful not to drown the woman. “Somebody! Please help! I have found an injured Hylian!!,” he shouts, and at instant, a few other Zora take her away to heal with herbs, in the lower chambers of the kingdom. Sidon meets back with Link, glad that he is okay, giving him a few kisses as well.
“My Link. I think I have found an omega. What should I do?! I am a bit worried!!,” Sidon shouts at him, the little man looking at the shark with a smirk.
“See if the chemistry is right, when she wakes up. If it is, perhaps then you could mate with her, for real, unlike you and I,” Link sheepishly tells him.
“Yes! Link! You are amazing! A genius! An absolute marvel!!,” Sidon shouts at him, giving Link his signature smirk and wink, and hugging him before running off to check on the Hylian he just rescued.
“My dear. Are you okay?,” he leans over the woman, his large shadow covering her small one. She moans in pain, looking up at him. “I think I’m okay now, yes. Who are you?,” her voice was small and shy, quiet. She meekly looked at him with her beautiful green eyes. Sidon blushed, loving how soft her voice was.
“Quickly, young one. Tell me your name.” The woman tells him. “Lily.” “Ah. What a beautiful name that is. I am Sidon, Prince of the Zora. I was making my round down the Zora River, when I saw you being beaten by monsters on Inogo Bridge!!,” he exclaimed, clearly worried for the young woman.
“I should have been more careful,” the woman replied, slightly blushing.
——-
You had been beaten by Moblins, and were about to meet your end, when you feltl a strong presence lift you up, carrying you up the Zora River, up a waterfall. You did not know who that was, yet you were extremely grateful. You awoke to a beautiful Zorana leaning over you. His smile, his voice, his muscles. You loved it.
Best of all, it seemed like he was an alpha. You could tell right away. This is who you had been searching for.
You had been born in a Hylian village off the coast, Luteno Village, full of Betas. The only other Alpha in the village was already mated — to a Beta. They did not have heats, ruts, pheromones. Sometimes, you wished to be one of them. Oh how easier it would be. Omegas were weaker than most, softer. This did not do you any good, especially in the calamity — so many monsters around. What options did you have?
Therefore, you left your small, coastal fishing village in hopes of finding a mate, a lover. You traveled up the Zora River, into Shatterback Point, up mountains, in the rain, in a thunderstorm. The time could have finally come. You were positive that whoever saved you, this ‘Prince Sidon’, was an Alpha. Further, he was royalty.
The size difference between you two was massive. You nervously watched as his clawed hand rested near your body. His palm was the size of your entire arm.
“My dear. Are you alright? You look positively out of it,” the handsome prince spoke to you. You replied that you were, which then coincided with him asking what you were doing in the area.
“Well, you see, Prince Sidon, I came here to find a mate. In Luteno Village, most of the people are Betas — normal. I’m a little helpless on my own, you see, with the calamity and all. I’m not strong enough to fight these monsters. I don’t even think that Omegas and Alphas are common in all of the kingdom of Hyrule…,” you trail off, a bit sad.
The shark grinned back at you, with a knowing yet gentle smile. “My dear. You see, they aren’t that common in the land of Zora either. Alpha and Omega pairs used to be more common before the calamity. All of our Zorai, they are mated pairs, since we usually have very long life spans. Except for me, of course.”
You nod, starting to realize what he was implying. You were sure that he was able to sense the tension between you. You had read, in an old book your grandmother owned, written before the calamity, that just each other’s presence can indicate true love between an Alpha and Omega. You hoped that your late grandmother’s book was right.
“Lily. I want to ask you something, sweet pearl,” Sidon starts. Perhaps, once you feel better, I can show you around the village?,” his yellow eyes look hopeful, bashful, even. A prince, paying attention to you. You were over the moon, and so, you obliged.
—-
Just in a few days, the Zora had healed you. You spent more and more time with the Prince every day, whom you now called Sidon. After a week, Sidon had asked you to accompany him for a nightly swim. The two of you had started doing that ever since you had healed.
You loved how fast he was in the water, how gentle he was with you on his back. Most of all, you loved how big he was. <3
Sidon took you into the lake next to the domain, and up the Veiled Falls. The two of you sat on the luminous stone filled dock, tension between the two of you rising. Sidon tapped his sharp nails upon the dock, nervous on what to say.
“What is it?,” you asked, putting a concerned hand on his shoulder, which made him flinch. “My Pearl. Lily. I have gotten to know you over the past week or so. You are truly amazing! I have never met a Hylian such as yourself before! This is a personal question to ask..yet.. are you possibly looking for something more than safety , here in the Zora Domain?”
You wince, deciding to tell him the truth. “I came here to look for a mate, Sidon. I’m an omega. They aren’t very common after the calamity,” you look down as you say it. Perhaps he has an arranged marriage already.
“My Lily. I am so glad to hear you say that!” He looked enthusiastic suddenly. “You see, I am one of the only other Alphas in this town myself! Everyone else is male or female, just a Beta. You are right, sweet Pearl! How clever you are,” he praises you.
You blush as he compliments you. He moves a bit closer to you. His clawed hand gently holds your head. “You and I, my pearl. I think you’re the most adorable little Hylian I’ve ever seen. The fact that you’re an omega — that is just even more precious and intriguing to me. Be my mate, sweet pearl,” he gently asks of you, yellow eyes full of passion.
You agree, giggling as he brings you in for a kiss. He was gentle with you, although you could feel his sharp teeth grazing your lips. You kiss him back with passion, you feel your lip start to bleed because of his sharp teeth. The two of you are inextricably close now, and his two hands easily grip your hips, almost as long as your whole torso. He gently moves you closer to him, although you can feel his sharp claws pierce your soft tummy.
His smell, his lips, his eyes, all of it was intoxicating. In your grandmother’s book, you have read that those with ‘sexual variance’ (gender classified as omega or alpha — instead of male or female (what Betas had) have greater chances for passionate and intricate sexual and romantic relations. It was biology, after all.
You press your smaller body closer to him, your softness against his rougher skin. You traced your small hands over his torso, his wide shoulders <3 as you could feel him moan into your mouth. He pulls away for a second, manhandling you onto his lap, where you felt a rather big bulge forming already..<3
“You know, sweet one…I have always hoped to find someone with sexual variance… a little omega I could have all for myself, to love, to breed…,” his voice seemed much lower now, you swore you could hear a growl behind it. “Make me yours then,” you softly reply back, gazing into his yellow eyes.
He smirks, and then uses those strong muscles of his to pin you onto the ground. A trail of wet kisses is left all over your face, your neck, your breasts, which he cups so gently, mindful of his claws, your hips. He asks if he can take off your clothes. You nod, and he does so, careful not to rip them with his claws.
“My little grace smells so good for me,” he chuckles darkly. “That’s all you wanted, hmm? A strong alpha to come breed you, claim you…,” he whispers, his sharp teeth grazing your lips. You nod. “Please, Sidon. Want it, please…,” you beg him, doe eyes meeting his.
“You know, my little love…Zora actually have two cocks. I wonder how they’ll fit inside my Pearl…,” he chuckles, bringing you in for another kiss. There you were, caged in his arms, your small hands around his large, bulging biceps, and you can feel him start to grind into you for a bit, before his cocks spring up, all hard, veiny. You almost drool, yet you stop yourself.
You have read in your grandmother’s book that alphas have bigger cocks than betas, than omegas. They have superior strength too…
You stare in awe as the Zora runs his clawed hand over his cocks, over his ball sack, all full and ready to burst!! “Sidon. Please, want it in me,” you beg of him, pathetically reaching up to him like a little girl would to her father.
“I’ll give you anything you ask for, little Pearl. So sweet…,” he moans, and with that, you see him gently line up his two cocks to your already soaking, wet, pussy. You wonder how his sharp teeth would feel on it … <3
“Sidon. I’ve never.. never had this before…,” you tell him shyly. He reassures you with a few kisses. “I will be gentle, little love. You will get used to it, you will want more. Don’t know how long I have been waiting for an omega, all to myself,” his grin showcased his row of sharp teeth, scaring and making you want him more at the same time.
You were ready. He gently began to push his pulsating cocks into you. The stretch hurt, yet since you were wet, you were ready for him. You could take it. He pushed in little by little, and the deeper he went, the more delirious you got. His cocks just stuffed you up so perfectly!! <3
Your eyes met his, your soft hands ran alongside his cheeks, his fins on his head. He has you in a mating press, and you could swear you were seeing doubles from how nicely his cocks filled you. Your eyes began to roll back into your head, as you drift away from the world, and solely focused on the moment: him.
“My sweet Pearl. Doing so well, my love. Taking these big cocks so nicely, can’t wait to breed you, my Pearl, have you carry my heir…,” he moaned out, just as delirious as you were. You were his prey, to be caught, bred, owned by him!! “Please, my prince, Sidon, please!!,” you squealed, eager to agree to everything he was saying, due to how earth shatteringly amazing you felt right now.
“Mate me. Claim me. Please, sir,” you beg him, a moment of clarity in your delirium. He smirks in response, giving you a little (sharp) love bite on your shoulder. “My pleasure, my little love.”
He starts rutting into you, faster, your little body shakes and you have to hold onto him as tightly as you could muster, burying yourself in the crook of his neck. You see stars, with his throbbing cocks inside you, you’ve never felt something be so right. You feel them twitch, and with screams from the both of you, you come at the same time.
You feel his hot seed spill into you, filling you.
You fall asleep in his arms after a bit of cuddling, and he gently takes you back to the Domain, to the palace, into his private chambers. You were his now. His mate, his little grace.

Finding out About Yona [Part II]
Tumblr media
[I'm absolutely blown away by how much notes part one has! I'm really thankful for all of the support! I hope you guys like this! Part one will be linked below.]
It has roughly been a month since I last laid foot in Zora's Domain. I haven't heard a word from Sidon since. I had abruptly moved out of the domain making myself home in Tarry Town. It has been abundantly painful, as the last time we talked we were in an argument. I constantly tried keeping myself busy whether helping Hudson, or going off and exploring new fallen pieces that fell from the skies above. I found myself walking along the edge of Akkala seeking sundelions from Hudson's request. I sighed in annoyance, they weren't easy flowers to find.
"I swear there was some growing here..." I grumbled, clearly annoyed. I pulled away from the grass, making my way towards a rock formation, leaning against it. I then sat down next to the trail resting my head into my arms, holding myself close. The thoughts of Sidon and his engagement to Yona filled my mind. No matter how many distractions I had, the thoughts and feelings always came back. My breathing started to pick up a bit thinking about the situation at hand. "I still can never get you off my mind..." I whispered to myself, as if hoping that would clear my heavy heart. I trembled a bit as my breathing was quick to turn into hyperventilation. I was lost in my mind, as I couldn't hear the sound of footsteps upon the trail, with a sharp and audible gasp. The figure seemed to stop and started talking. It all sounded like gibberish, anything that went in one ear went out the other.
"(Y/n)!" The figure cried giving me a light shake. I was startled, looking up to see a black Zora who was a guard. I was quick to gasp out of shock immediately standing up, backing away lightly.
"...Bazz?" I asked in a broken tone still not in a fit state to be interacting with others. However, I took a few deep breaths before getting into a semi-calm state to interact with Bazz. "What is the captain of the guard doing all the way outside of the domain?" I asked with a rather frantic tone. Bazz only gazed at me with a rather concerned look. His amber eyes only seemed to be filled with worry.
"(Y/n), are you alright?! We haven't seen you in weeks, everyone was worried SICK!!-" He paused before quickly clearing his throat, noticing that he was acting informal. He sighed, then stood up lightly tapping his silverscale spear on the trail. "I was personally sent out to look for you by request of King Sidon. Now that I found you, I'll escort you back to the domain at once!" He stated in a firm voice, eyes still carrying a look of concern. I stood still, trying to process everything. I only stepped back a bit more with a quick head shake.
"King ... Sidon?" I asked, completely dismissing what he had stated. "When did Sidon become King..?" I asked a little bit quieter, if anything; asking myself.
"He was crowned by the now retired King Dorephan not too long ago, after him and Master Link had saved the domain. Post-crowning ceremony, as stated before; he had personally sent me to come find you. We need to get going before it starts getting dark outside." Bazz said in a formal tone, I was personally taken aback by his rather direct tone. I shook my head once again.
"I'm not going back to the domain! I don't even live there anymore. There's no point in doing so." I snapped, feeling a strain in my voice. Everything really felt like it was coming back, not in a good way. It was now Bazz's turn to be taken aback himself. He gazed at me with widened eyes before he sighed. He stamped his spear a bit into the ground, turning his head, thinking of what to say. He gazed back at me with his eyes piercing into my own.
"Look (Y/n)..." He started, closing his eyes for a moment before he looked back down at me. "I obviously cannot force you to come with me, however I have been looking for you for two weeks straight. It isn't just King Sidon that's worried about you, it's most of the domain as well. I personally thought you had died, it took a toll on me. While I am captain of the guard, I'm also asking as your friend... Please come back to Zora's Domain." He pleaded with a bit of desperation in his voice. I sighed, before slowly nodding and choosing to go back with him. By the time we reached the domain, the sun was starting to set. The Zoras around the domain saw me and were whispering among themselves and looked at me in surprise. While it was starting to get to me, it all had stopped the minute I saw him. Sidon... His back was turned, the crown upon him that King Dorephan once wore was now upon his head. Bazz told me to stay still, as he approached Sidon whispering to him, before giving a quick bow before stepping away. Sidon was quick to turn around seeing me stand before him. He was very quick to approach me before standing in silence.
"It's you..." He said with a softened tone, his face was unreadable. He seemed to be picking his words carefully this time. I only crossed my arms at him, doing my best to hold in any emotions that I was feeling. I felt like I was shaking from everything being held in. Sidon was quick to break, his eyes started to fill with tears.
"Well?" I asked, clear shakiness in my voice.
He breathed before his golden eyes closed for a moment. "Darli- I mean- (Y/n)..." He then opened his eyes, looking absolutely destroyed. "I'm truly sorry for how I behaved towards you. I really wasn't myself then, there was a lot on my mind... I never wanted my actions to hurt you like this." He said mustering up the best apology he could in the state he was in. For a moment, I started to calm down before I saw a green Zora stepping in, standing by his side. It was Lady Yona. This immediately brought me back to my breaking point and I snapped.
"Really? That's all?!- I just... You made me come all this way just to say that? It seems all you did was waste my time! Thanks!" I scoffed angrily, clearly upset. Sidon's saddened eyes went wide at this completely shocked at my tone. He was clearly hurt, Yona placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, both of them looking at each other before looking back at me. This was the nail that finally hit the coffin for me. I immediately started turning around to leave.
"Wait! (Y/n)! We're still talking!" He cried out towards me, but I ignored him, feeling my eyes burn with tears. He kept calling for me, but I kept ignoring him. I finally felt a tight yank on my wrist, I winced. "(Y/N)! Would you LISTEN to me for once?!" I heard him speak with his teeth lightly gritting. I turned around, trying to pull my arm back, but it wasn't working.
"Let me go! All you've done was leave me for someone else without even consulting me!" I cried out with spite in my voice. He was quick to respond back mirroring my tone.
"It was a political marriage! Besides, you chose to disappear for a whole MONTH! I genuinely thought you were dead! I was beyond worried about you! You didn't even say anything when you left!" He snapped. I could hear a stomp behind both of us.
"Would both of you cut it out?! Both of you are acting like complete children!" Yona yelled out behind Sidon and I. We were both very quick to silence ourselves, turning towards her shocked. She composed herself, before turning towards me. "(Y/n), Sidon and I came to the conclusion that it's best for us to not fulfill our political marriage. My own home needs me more than ever now after what happened in Hyrule." She then turned to Sidon for him to continue. Sidon needed a minute to cool down, before his gaze met mine.
"(Y/n), look. I understand that communication is important. I'm sorry that I never stated anything about the engagement either, I was too busy with my own duties, I had neglected someone I love the most, and that is you. I've always seen Lady Yona as an older sister, my feelings were always complicated about the situation. It took a lot of talking to my father to get out of the engagement." He said with a very sincere tone. My eyes went wide at this. Before I could respond, he very dramatically went on his knees, grasping onto both of my hands.
"Sidon..." I finally muttered softly, feeling tears in my eyes as I was finally beginning to feel the weeks of suppressed emotions hit me.
"(Y/n), will you have me once again? However, this time things will be different. We will both be open and communicate with one another. No more hiding away our feelings. I now want you at my side, no more distance between us!" He practically proposed to me, looking into my eyes with eyes filled with hope. I was quick to nod at him, with a soft giggle.
"Of course Sidon! I would love nothing more than to be by your side!" I said with a warm smile, he gasped before giving me his signature winning smile. He lets go of my hands, revealing a ring, and then slid it upon my ring finger. Sidon picked me up and twirled me around laughing. We both laugh in each other's hold. Afterwards, Yona had approached me with a warm look as Sidon and I held hands.
"(Y/n), please treat him well. Sidon means the world to me, and even more so to see him happy." Yona said with a smile. I nodded in response smiling at her in return.
"Of course. I'm sorry for not acting the best as of late..." I said looking at her guilt. "I'm glad Sidon has you as a sister figure." I had finished off. Yona and I both shook hands before she left the domain.
Some time passed by, Sidon and I had finally wed, as we would rule the domain together side by side becoming closer. At the wedding ceremony, Yona and I had bonded over embarrassing stories from her and Sidon's childhood, she has also become like a sister to me. Meanwhile, Sidon and Link bonded over who could throw a korok the farthest. While nothing was perfect, it was more than you could ask for.
The End.

so in those [mumble mumble] years between BotW and TotK, the Zora replaced the weathered and unreadable monuments with new history writing by Sidon, and their contents have left me hmm emotionally compromised ??
i was gonna list em out in full but then i read them all and Sidon waffles so much bless him LOL
full transcripts below (+ the 11th monument in the Domain itself) expect Sidon being an adorable goof, Zora Deep Lore, waterbending, SO much gushing over Mipha and Link, Zelda being a sweetheart, and surprise Yona content !!!
just for clarity, i've highlighted the first word of each on-screen chunk of text ... i love Sidon so much but he's so verbose i kept missing the full log lol but im glad he went all in, its earnest, descriptive and poetic :') 💙 RIP the stonemasons ...
Learnings of the Zora, Part One The Waters of Zora's Domain As told by Prince Sidon
Long, long ago, right here in Lanayru, incredible transformations, both subtle and drastic in nature, shaped the land. The tall mountains birthed clouds, these clouds cried tears of rain, and this rain filled our deep valleys past the brim. In time, this overflowing water became the Zora River, which bred waterfalls that fell and nourished the vast Lanayru Wetlands. Perhaps it was inevitable that my Zora ancestors, who wandered in search of precious water, would finally settle here. The mountains of Lanayru are blessed with high-quality stone. The structures built from said stone are solid yet refined. Just like the Zora and our domain, our buildings exist in harmony with the water. It is a beautiful symbol of our way of life. If you go to the edge of the domain, close your eyes, and listen closely ... you shall be greeted by the gentle sound of water. This kind, soothing sound is a testament to the happy life the Zora are so grateful to have found here. As one born of royal Zora blood, my duty is as clear as it is unshakeable. I, Sidon, swear here and now ... I shall protect our home with my very life, that the gentle sound of water may never cease in our beloved domain.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Two The Legend of Ruto, Our Great Ancestor As told by Prince Sidon
It is written that long ago there was a strong-willed Zora princess who was as meandering as a winding river. This princess, who was dearly loved by her fellow Zora, was noble as she was innocent. Her name was Ruto. One day, a powerful and wicked man tried to take over Hyrule and brought great ruin to the once-peaceful Zora's Domain. Our tales speak of falled Zora soldiers drifting down the river as it sadly reflected the chaotic retreat of the terrified Zora. Princess Ruto bravely fought back her tears and she bore witness to the tragic misery unfolding in the domain. Even amid her heartbreak, the Zora princess did all she coult to help the weak and elderly escape. Next she swam against the river's current and climbed the mighty waterfall to challenge her foe. The details of this fight have fallen victim to the haze of time. Few details remain. Still, it is said she was aided by the princess of Hyrule and the hero of legend, and together they saved Hyrule. So the legend goes. I, Sidon, prince of the Zoram cannot help but ponder these events as I listen to the Zora children play in all their innocence. As Princess Ruta's descendant, it is my fate to carry the torch of her brave acts into tomorrow and beyond. I shall not fail.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Three The Great King Dorephan As told by Prince Sidon
Several springs after I lost my dear sister, Mipha, a large group of Lizalfos attacked the domain. It mattered not that this was my first true battle. The expectations of those around me weighed heavy on my shoulders. The absence of Mipha, who had always been there to encourage me with loving kindness, was like a spear to my heart. As for my own spear, though I was highly trained for its use, it seemed to only cut the air and slash the water's surface. I was taken off guard by a surprise attach from three Lizalfos hiding at the water's edge, each with their blade fixed on me. I knew that my time had come ... and that is when the three Lizalfos disappeared, as quickly as they had arrived. In their place, I saw the towering figure of my father, the great King Dorephan, who had just bested my foes with ease. "Sidon, my son," he said firmly. "You allwed your heart to falter. That is the quickest way to fall on the battlefield." His words cut deep, but as I stood on the brink of dispair, a familiar gently encouraged me. "Your king needs you." Many soldiers later attested they were certain they had also heard the sweet voice of Mipha on that day. From then on, my heart was true and my resolve firm. By lending strength to our king, we were able to save the domain.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Four Two Sisters of Different Blood As told by Prince Sidon
When I was young, I had an irrational fear of strangers. I was particularly bashful around Yona. Paralyzed, even. She was already so mature in manner, and she treated me like a little brother, even though we were not related. There came an unseasonably heavy rain that quickly flooded the river. Us children, who were playing there, were swept away. I was battered by the water's strong flow, my fins helpless to resist. It was Yona who dragged me to the safety of the shore. The water continued to swell as the shore waned, but Yona was unflappable, sweetly comforting me as I shivered in fear. It was Mipha, my dear sister, who finally showed up to rescue us with other Zora adults in tow. I still remember Yona's face as she gazed up at Mipha in admiration. My face must have looked the same as I gazed at Yona. As a child, I had two big sisters. One by birth and one by chance. Yona looked up to Mipha, and I was in awe of them both. Before I knew it, years had passed, and my feelings for Yona became more difficult to quantify. Then, one day ... My father informed me that the amazing young woman who had once been a like a sister to me was to be my bride. Perhaps these feelings and memories are too dear and private to commit to history, but such is the tale of this Zora prince.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Five The Zora Armor She Left Behind As told by Prince Sidon
For some time after I lost my beloved sister, even in the light shining on the water seemed dark and dreary to my eyes. But as they say, time heals all wounds, no matter how deep. I can now speak of her with a smile, as is only fitting. I shall now tell the tale of the Zora armor that my sister crafted for her future husband, as per our ancient custom. One dark day, the domain was in great peril, and I sought help from a traveling Hylian to save our home. He was sparing with his words, yet I trusted him at once. As fate would have it, he was a childhood friend of Mipha's. My father, King Dorephan, troubled by the domain's suffering, requested his help. The swordsman agreed without hesitation. Father bequeathed my sister's Zora armor to this courageous soul, along with her hopes for the safety of the domain. The armor fit Link perfectly - so perfectly that councilman Muzu, who then harbored a hatred of Hylians, could not object. My sister had already left this world, and with her went the dearly held intentions that she had instilled within that special armor. Yet, with Link's help, she shined a light on the Zora in our hour of need, reaching between worlds with gentle fingertips.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Six The Story of Mipha Court: The Beginning As told by Prince Sidon
There was once a terrifying monster on Ploymus Mountain, loosing shock arrows on all who dared to cross its path. It was of utmost importance to drive the beast away, but as the Zora are weak to electricity, our efforts were futile. That is when a lone Hylian arrived at the domain. This swordsman who was sparing with his words ... his name was Link. Unlike us Zora, he was immune to shocks! Well perhaps that is an exaggeration, but one thing is certain. He was very brave. After careful preparation, he ascended Ploymus Mountain and defeated the foul beast all by himself. As if in celebration of newfound peace, clean water mysteriously began flowing at the top of Ploymus Mountain. That is when many Zora, if not most, voiced support for building a place that all could enjoy in that formerly frightful spot. Yet the many tree roots and stones made this task tricky, leading to a focus on the no-less-difficult matter of the name. "Zora Park" was too obvious. "Ploymus Park" only conjured images of the former terrors found there. When I candidly asked whether we should focus on the hard work at hand rather than the name, they all turned my way. "Prince Sidon," they asked. "Surely you must have a good suggestion?" To that, I fell silent, and stayed so for a long while. I shall write the conclusion of this story on another monument.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Six The Story of Mipha Court: The Conclusion As told by Prince Sidon
The first half of this tale can be found on another stone monument. If it is not too much trouble, I advise reading that first. I now present the conclusion. When posed with the task of naming this storied location, I, Prince Sidon, fell silent. After a time, I timidly proposed the one and only name that came to mind for this place of newfound peace. I suggested that we name it after my beloved sister who had long been lost to us ... Mipha Court. I worried they would think I was unfairly favoring my own family's legacy by naming it after my kin. A hush fell over the group. After a time, one of the stonemasons raised his voice in agreement. More voices joined his, one after another. The idea was embraced whlly, and the craftsmen all returned to their work. Though the work was grueling, from then until the completion of Mipha Court, the air was filled with laughter and singing. This incident drove home to my very core how much everyone loved my sister. I hope one day to inspire such admiration. If there is ever to be a Sidon Court, I must work tirelessly to earn that honor.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Seven The Prince and the Swordsman As told by Prince Sidon
The rain always stops ... except when it does not. This humourous saying was once repeated with a soft chuckle around here. Then, one day, heavy rain started falling in the domain, and no matter how many days passed it did not cease. Although the Zora are a water-dwelling sort, we came to miss the warmth of the sun and dry winds upon our backs. Alas, as fervent as our desire was, we had no means of stopping the cause of this unprecedented disaster. When all had given up hope, I, Sidon, took it upon myself to invite a Hylian to the domain. This young swordsman of few words was named Link. I trusted him at once, sensing great devotion in his kind eyes. It was immediately clear that my instincts were correct. Thanks to Link, we were able to face the thread head on. Our battle with the source of the disaster was intense by my newfound friend and I refused to yield until we finally triumphed. Sometimes, writen words flow so much more readily than those spoken ... Link, my dearest friend, you are an unparalleled swordsman, and I admire you so very much. He may lack fins and gills, but it matters not. This hero among heroes exudes magnificence tempered with steadiness. Though we are different, our hearts both yearn to serve a higher calling. I learned much from him, and I am eternally grateful. As I recall my best friend, it occurs to me that though the rains have ceased, perhaps a true adventure never does.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Eight The Princess of Hyrule As told by Prince Sidon
One that despicable disaster had ceased to plague Zora's Domain, a distinguished yet humble lady paid us a visit. This young woman who appeared with Link at her side was none other than Princess Zelda of the royal family of Hyrule. "I beg forgiveness," she said earnestly. "Because of the royal family, Princess Mipha ..." She paused, unable to continue. Small, silent teardrops tumbled down her cheek and hit the floor, one after another, each saying a thousand unspaken words. She gently wiped her eyes and lifted her gaze to meet the king's, speaking kind words of gratitude for Mipha's sacrifice. We knew well that what had transpired was the result of a decision shared by the Zora and by Princess Mipha herself. There was no need for the princess of Hyrule's apology, and even less so for her sorrow. King Dorephan, along with the rest of the Zora, were moved by the depth of Princess Zelda's sincerity. She had held that unthinkable disaster at bay for nearly 100 years with nothing more than the sheer force of her own will. Yet she was not prideful. She dutifully set to work, traveling across Hyrule to secure cooperation for the kingdom's restoration. She was adored by all, yet so humble. She possessed an inner strength, but now I am not so certain. I feel a strong calling one day to acquire this same sort of strength within myself.
Learnings of the Zora, Anecdote One The Solid Water and the Fluid Spear As told by Prince Sidon
The Zora are not associated with water because of our dwelling place alone. We each also, to varying extents, possess the ability to actually manipulate water. We use this gift for many purposes. We use it to swim faster, to achieve mighty leaps from the waves below, to gather fish, and so much more. For me, the true awakening of this ability that many of my childhood chums already possessed came upon me quite suddenly. One day as I was training at Veiled Falls, the rain slickened my grasp, causing me to drop my spear. I reached to grab it, but it was already too far away. Soon it would fall to the bottom of the cliff, never to be seen again. I knew that I must take old of it, and at that moment, droplets created a stream extending from my outstretched hand. The water stream twisted and turned until it finally took hold of my falling spear and deftly returned it to my grasp. In that moment, the water was solid and my spear fluid. This sensation forever changed my approach to spearplay. I was reminded of how my sister, Mipha, described it ... and everything clicked. Water and spear became as one. Gaining yet another layer of admiration for my dear sister, I devoted myself to my spear training from then on.
Learnings of the Zora, Anecdote Two The Great Task Entrusted to Me As told by Prince Sidon
I, Sidon, was entrusted with the great task of renovating the Zora stone monuments that had fallen to ruin. There are 11 stone monuments total find in and around Zora's Domain, including the one you are now reading. The former text written by my father, King Dorephan, could not be salvaged, and so sadly it had to be replaced. Despite my royal blood, whispers abound that it is improper for someone my age to write over the king's glorious words. Ah, but do they not realize that it was King Dorephan himself who ordered me to undertake this restoration project? Father says it is not set in stone that I shall be the one to inherit the throne, as it is not a matter of blood alone. If we ask the eternal skies above whether I am fit to rule, they shall remain silent, and so we must look to our fellow Zora. He urged me to use these monuments to share my learnings and speak to our people straight from my heart. Father is older and wiser than I. His sage advice is a gift. As such, I have inscribed my thoughts upon these 11 stones. I do not know how far-reaching my words shall be, but it is my hope that they will reach whoever needs to hear them most. Until one of the descendants writes over my musings many years from now, I pray they resonate with whoever reads them.
WELL there we are, thanks for the history lesson Sidon you absolute sweetie fhjdkdjf i have thoughts and feelings and emotions but i wont make this post any longer than it already is but i love these characters byeeeEEE

Anon; “ I have a cute idea! What about Link and the reader take a break after restoring Vah Ruta and go swimming together in Zora’s domain? Something real sappy. Like a water fight or something? Thank you hope you have a wonderful day/night!”
~xXx~
Zora's Domain was truly a sight to see, and one of many you were sure to experience on your journey to save Hyrule alongside it's chosen hero. You never got tired of listening to the falls at Mikau Lake, a sound which you always found relaxing, especially when Link was courageously off taking back Va Ruta from Calamity Ganon. Even with a mind full of anxiousness for the safety of your significant other, the rushing sounds of water helped to ease your racing heart.
However, when Link had returned, it became his turn to be calmed by the falling waters. Link had been celebrated the moment he appeared from a bursting light, held up above the cheering Zora by their beloved prince. You were there cheering for him as well and happy to see him alive and in one piece. But after the crowds dispersed, and the hero had been dismissed by King Dorephan after sharing what all he'd learned from regaining the first Divine Beast, it became clear just what kind of state he was in.
Link was withdrawn, and despite his normally quiet character, he'd speak with you only when spoken to, and his replies more often then not were either short grunts, or a motion of the head. You could tell something was wrong, watching his heavy shoulders sag just the slightest as he walked off somewhere when the two of you had been approached by some children, those of who were begging to continue braiding your hair from earlier when he'd left for his mission. As the young Zora giggled and commented on how strange but soft Hylian hair was, your mind was absent to their actions, thinking only about your own Hylian.
Once the children had been called to bed, all leaving with groans and disappointed goodbyes, you had headed over to the inn to cook up one of Link's favorite meals. It didn't take long and after asking to his whereabouts, you had been informed he was at Mikau Lake, your own favorite relaxing spot. You made your way there in no time, food wrapped up securely and still warm as you spotted the blond hero standing before one of the wonderous falls of the domain. Even from where you stood, you could see Link was not doing so well.
His eyes were not focused on anything in particular, his mind deep off somewhere far. Clearing your throat, Link made no notion that he knew you were there. A frown spread across your face. Just what had happened in Va Ruta? What memories did he regain to affect him in such a way. Wondering if you should sneak back to the domain, you defiantly shook your head and set down the satchel of food you brought with you on a near by rock. No, you weren't going to leave him like this. So deep in the trenches of the dark parts of his mind that not even the smell of his favorite meal could bring him out of it. With a mischievous grin you shed the outer layers of your clothing, took a step back, and then beelined into the pool before you both, jumping in and effectively bringing the hero back down to Hyrule with a huge, wet splash.
Coming up from the water, you pushed your soaked hair from your eyes, not helping the giggled that fell from your lips at the stunned expression on Link's face. His eyes were wide in surprise, mouth agape and whole body soaked, his mind racing to grasp what just happened when a second, smaller splash came his way. Coming out of his surprise, his cerulean eyes landed on his aggressor, your mischievous smirk being the first thing he took note of.
"So you just gonna stand there, or are you gonna do something about it?", you teased, slowly swimming back as Link began to take off his outer garments as well.
With a shrill, you threw up your arms to block the huge wave of water that Link had caused as he canon balled in. In your distraction, you suddenly felt something tug on your ankle, and you gasp when Link popped up right in front of you. In a matter of moments the two of you had delved into a water fight, splashing the other and playing a mock game of tag as the other would try to swim away from the others grasp. Amongst the rushing sound of heavy water meeting the small lake below, anyone nearby would also be met with the splendid sounds of joyous laughter.
When the two of you had grown exhausted from all the play, Link had guided you to some sleek boulders to sit and dry off. In that time you had remembered the meal you made him, to which he graciously shared with you. As you and Link leaned against one another, munching on some fruit for dessert, you both admired the glistening of the falls as the light of the Domains structures glowed upon it. It was a beautiful and touching moment, one that you both, but especially Link needed. Thinking about how much he'd already been through, and how much there was still to go, you grasped his hand gently. The action spurred Link to gaze down at you, noticing the sad look in your eyes and he knew before any words came from your soft lips what you were thinking.
"I'm here for you, Link. You're never alone, okay.", you assured in a quiet, soft tone meant only for him.
With the calming sounds of the waterfalls drowning out the world around you both, Link took your reassurance to heart and accepted it, planting a small kiss to your forehead before pulling you in for a tight, warm embrace.

A Service to the King Ch. 1 (A SidLink Omegaverse Story)
Chapter 1: Help
Knight. Champion. Hero. All these words were things that one would use to describe Link, the savior of Hyrule and the one that took down the Calamity and then years later destroyed the Demon king with the help of the sages.
Never once would someone have thought he would be brought before the former king of Zora's Domain, asking for his help in something that didn't require a sword.
King Sidon and his wife Queen Yona had yet to produce an heir or even attempt to conceive. It had been months since the Demon King had been killed and peace had been restored once more. Yet Sidon had never made a move on his own queen.
The council was becoming irrate with the king, questioning his loyalty to his wife. Sidon promised them he did love his wife but Dorephan saw otherwise. Of course he loved Yona, but not in the way that others sought him out to be. He was sure that was for another.
Sidon never lit up around Yona as much as he did with Link. The fomer king could clearly see something there brewing within his son.
He was sure he was in love with the champion but never once made a move. And even more so now never did anything now that he was wed, despite not having a wedding.
But he wasn't sure if those feelings were there within Link. He was always busy and seeking to help others that Dorephan never got to see the Link beneath all that.
At the very least he just wanted someone to talk to his son that wasn't himself. Who better than to call upon Link, Sidon's best friend?
Princess Zelda had accompanied him, the two insepearable ever since the defeat of the Demon King and she had been found.
Though once receiving the request of help, her reaction was something he hadn't expected. She wanted Link to decline, that he couldn't.
That it was better that he not.
Dorephan sighed from his seat, looking down at the two of them. Zelda clutched at the edge of Link's cloak. Whatever had happened to the princess during that time she was missing really had shaken her up.
She wasn't quite the same any longer.
Link scratched his face a bit with that odd arm of his and looked up at the former king.
“I'll do what I can do help him,” Link said to him.
“Link!” Zelda said with a frown.
Link sighed. “He's my friend. I should help and figure out what's going on. If there is something bothering him that keeps him from being with Yona, then I should at least try to figure out what it is, shouldn't I? Besides, he's helped me more than once on much more difficult things, this is the least I can do.”
“But you...” Zelda began and then shifted closer to whisper in his ear. “Link, you could get hurt if you figure it out.”
Link sighed. He knew that she meant well but he had to do something. Honestly he was the only one that could do this. Sidon was never open to anyone but him.
His own feelings for the new Zora king had to be buried deep. He didn't need the council taking the crown from Sidon. He knew how much it meant to him.
Plus deep down he was a little selfish. He wanted to know what was going on. Receiving the news about Sidon being wed to Yona now had dug deep at him. He tried his best to hide it and he had been successful until one night Zelda had caught him lost in thought with a stray tear rolling down his cheek. Not his finest moment.
“It's a risk I'll have to take,” Link finally said to her and then looked to Dorephan. “I'll do this service to the king and help him. For the better of the king and the better of the Domain.”
“Thank you Link,” Dorephan said.
*
Link had a hard time swallowing what Yona had said to him as soon as they met. She had no idea of course of the feelings that burned within him. No one knew except Zelda of course. Link had made sure of that.
The amount of dread he felt of never having a chance had filled him. To be completely honest he had put his whole mind on the task of saving the Zoras to keep his mind busy. There were a few sleepless nights however after that with trying to mend a broken heart that Sidon had no idea he had broken in the first place.
Sometimes the news still ended up plaguing him.
Fiance at that time. And now they were King and Queen. Sidon had taken up the throne of being king and had pronounced Yona as the queen right as he stood beside him in front of the zora people. The smile he had to force had nearly cracked his teeth.
Zelda had learned of it after she had returned from her dragon form after all of those years. She felt for him.
It was no wonder that she was so bent on keeping Link from doing this task. She had been angry when Dorephan had told them what he wanted Link to do. To talk to his son about what was troubling him with his wife.
More or less Link had to convince him to at least have a child with her so the council would leave him alone and not start anything.
How he went about this really was a test of his own character. The right thing to do was to talk with Sidon, figure out what was going on and then perhaps offer a way for him to be happy but also appease those in the Zora court.
The wrong thing to do was to tell him to leave her and live a life with him. Of course he wasn't thinking really of that. He could make himself an enemy that way and since when did he have the courage to tell Sidon how he felt?
He had been haboring these feelings for years Who was to say that he would end up doing it now that the moment presented itself.
He had courage in other things but when it came to his own feelings he felt ike he was a wimp, someone who wouldn't dare speak a word.
Zelda was right, he might get hurt out of this but how he could say no to Dorephan after he had brought them all this way and practically begged.
They took residence in one of the inns for the night. Sidon as out on some duties out of the kingdom so it was best they both get some rest.
In the shared room Link sat on his own bed, taking his shoes off. He needed some rest after the long jounrey.
Purah pad or not there was still a bit of travel that had to be done to get there.
“Link...you are sure that this is a good idea?” Zelda asked, shifting a bit and rubbed at the spot on her neck. “We've been through so much and you deserve as little stress as possible.”
“He's my friend Zelda. I don't want to see something happen to him because there wasn't a friend here to lend a hand,” Link explained.
“But it's more than that,” Zelda sad to him. “And you know it.”
Link sighed, laying himself back down onto the bed with a thump, staring up at the ceiling.
“Even with those scent blockers on I know that you aren't happy about this,” she tried again. “I know you love him Link, and it'll only hurt you more if you do this.”
“I'm unhappy either way Zelda,” Link told her wit ha frown. “I may as well just do the one route where it helps others.”
“Oh youre always so stubborn,” Zelda huffed at him. “There has to be another way. There is always another way to things.”
Link frowned at her and she flushed, turning her gaze away. She knew he was upset about the whole dragon thing, being the only way. Though he was sure there had to be another some how than putting herself through that.
It was behind them now. He wasn't about to keep holding that over her head. It had only been a few months since he had helped restore her normal form so it was still rather fresh in his mind at the moment.
“At least in this scenario I would think there would be another way,” Zelda said. “I just don't want to see you get hurt.”
“I know,” Link finally sighed. “But I wanted to at least to try to help.”
With her nagging him he wasn't sure still what he wanted to do.
“Just promise me one thing,” Zelda said as Link peered at her from across the room. She rung her hands together, looking scared and nervous.
Zelda had been through way too much. She of all people deserved a vacation. And he understood why she was so protective.
After seeing the passing of two people that she had grown closests to in the past she wanted to keep all those she cared for alive and happy.
Hopefully one day she'd ease her own mind, for now Link would need to do that for her. But he knew this was something he had to do.
“What is that?” Link asked her.
“Promise me that if things are going wrong with whatever it is you're planing...that you'll leave it behind. That you will save your own skin instead of doing the good of the people,” She finally finished in a breath.
Link sighed but nodded, turning to stare up at the celing.
“I'll do my best to take care of myself.”
*
Around dusk was when Link finally woke up from a nap and set out to find the king. He had been told by night fall Sidon would be returning back to the domain and from the buzz that was going on around he was sure he had returned.
He stepped around the statue dedicated to himself and Sidon, gazing up at the stone that captured a moment that would forever be buried in his mind.
He was surprised they had moved Mipha's statue and placed this one there. He didn't think he was nearly as great as Sidon or his sister after everything yet here he was.
He felt small fingers touch his arm and he glanced down to see a young zora admiring his arm as if it was some strange thing.
He felt a little uneasy especially when his mother came up and took her son by the hand to keep him from touching.
“So sorry Sir Link,” the zora woman said to him. “I didn't mean for him to touch your...arm.”
“It's alright,” Link said, watching as the mother and child stepped away. Link idly rubbed his arm with a sigh. Still to this day people still thought it weird.
And still he was self concious about it.
“Well I for one think it's extrodinary,” came a familiar voice behind him. Link smiled a bit, turning to see the king.
Sidon beamed at him, stepping away from Yona who had walked next to him.
It was more than obvious of the distance between the two of them, but still Yona laid a gentle face on herself to try to hide how she felt.
“Your majesties,” Link said, bowing to the two of them. Yona nodded her head as a sign back to Link that she acknowledged him.
Sidon however wrapped him up in his arms and hugged him tightly, lifting him up to his full height. Link let out a laugh, hugging him.
“Such formalities. You don't have to use them with me,” Sidon beamed, setting him back on his feet. “What brings you to the Domain?”
Link glanced at Yona who walked off with a frown.
“We need to talk,” Link said to Sidon.

PLS TALK TO ME ABOUT "BEGIN AGAIN" I WOULD DO SOOOO MANY ILLEGAL THINGS TO READ IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AGAIN </3333333
Oh man, begin again. Where do I, well, begin?
It started with the end — that is, the first I knew was I wanted to write a story that ended with Link giving Zelda Hateno house.
I became obsessed pretty early on in my play-through of totk with the changes between it and botw. And when I say obsessed, I mean annoyed. I love botw. I love the world and the landscape and the characters and the story. It just felt like too much was wiped away without explanation and I decided, damnit, I was going to fix that.
Here are so fun facts/ hidden gems/Easter eggs:
Chapter 1
She is not aware of a word that accurately describes the feeling of being forgotten by the person you tethered your heart to; to have it remain connected to that person and witness it drift behind them, becoming more of a dark cloud than guiding light.
This is a little nod to like someone would. I totally Link runs from his destiny a little bit before he faces CG. And writing from Zelda’s POV, I felt like I had to recognize the pain of witnessing that.
He jokingly calls it an ‘adventure pouch’.
Call back to SS!
Chapter 2
“Even the Divine Beasts?”
“Especially those,” he asserts.
Another nod to like someone would Link. I always feel like, similar to how SS Link would have hesitation being a child of the sky entering temples, especially underground, this Link would hate entering the divine beasts. It feels like a living tomb. I wanted this contrast between he and Zelda’s perspective where, earlier, she thinking about all the ways they could be repurposed to help Hyrule, Link only sees how it can fall again. And the pain they have already caused.
“It trapped his soul inside his body,” King Dorephan says.
I hc Link was very much dead in botw. The shrine of resurrection essentially tethered his soul to his body long enough for it to be prepared so his soul could be convinced to remain inside. I have a wip sitting around about Link’s time in this stasis and how all three of this trio (Zelda, Ganondorf, and Link have all spent some time in it) but who knows if I’ll write it.
To this group, so revitalized by new hope, united and rising from a hundred years of ruin, her proposal of clinging to their ashes might feel like poison.
Like malice.
I’m a little obsessed with thinking about and justifying how at any given point, Zelda and Link could become a calamity as well.
“You said you think the Shrines work like the Divine Beasts? So in theory, those stopped working because our friends—” Grief, unexpected and sudden, crackles in her voice. She clears her throat. Pivots. “You can’t use their gifts any longer, right?”
Link flexes his fingers slowly. Like he’s just missing something that keeps passing through his fingers. “I let them go.”
This was a very important change I wanted to spend time on: The champion’s gifts. It broke my heart to think when mummy ganon attacked Link, he stole their gifts (essentially their souls) away from Link. And I decided it lined up with Link’s characterization in this story, that he would let them go versus hold onto them longer than needed. He especially, down to his very core, knows what that is like.
> Rest? <
I wanted a plausible explanation for how the shrines disappeared from the map and I just thought this was so clever when I came up with it, hah. That souls fixed for so long, so dedicated and driven by purpose might need permission to let go (HINT HINT ZELDA) And also, Link had the answer all along because, essentially, it’s what he did for the Champions when they let the gifts go.
Chapter 3
A bit of a logistics chapter but I wanted to wrap it around moments of feeling. Grief and living with grief is a huge theme through the entire story. I just love the “I’m 18” scene and how she’s physically moving forward before she’s emotionally there.
With her soul is exposed and pulsing like a nerve, she can sense the entirety of the Sheikah Technology network - all the shrines, every guardian, the towers stretching up into the sky, the furnaces burning outside the Labs - all these things without a mouth suddenly have one, and they open wide and desperate, and begin to siphon energy from her.
In theory, since the Sheikah tech runs on soul energy, I felt like it would make sense it has a hard time recognizing what is fuel and what I not. So every time Link fast travels, it’s like he’s bargaining with the horned statue. I always felt like you should lose a half heart when you fast travel in botw.
I was a little nervous it would fit with the story, but I really love the letters. It was the perfect opportunity to show Link has a lot going on in his head behind his few spoken words.
It does feel fast, but at the end of it all, it's just another year. Important things take time.
This comes back in chapter 6 when Link tells Zelda how he feels about her.
You want to know where my favorite place in Hyrule is? There is a spring on top of a waterfall north of Lake Floria. It's where I first saw Farosh. Came right out of the water and climbed up into the sky above my head. Nearly scared me to death. I can’t really explain it well, but it's where I realized I wanted to actually be here. Ruins and wild and all. It's where I realized I wanted to be the one to save Hyrule. To save you.
Another like someone would reference. Also laying foundation of Link connecting with dragons…light dragon feels.
It’s just, sometimes it feels like this destiny asks too much, you know?
This is a big theme in the depths au. A lot of my stories are connected/have passages that inspired others.
Chapter 4
The shrine Link got sick from was Noya Neha shrine. It’s next to Hyrule castle and it’s a cave shrine. I wanted to subtly introduce gloom sickness in a way it would take several years to become a problem consistent enough for Hyrule to pay attention to. In the beginning, I see it as something just chalked up to a random virus/illness. While Link and Zelda have more of a resistance to it, I argue because of all the fast travel and not taking the best care of himself for weeks, he was in a weakened state and more susceptible to the gloom in the cave.
“What are you talking about? Who will–” Paya freezes as Impa pulls off her hat, revealing a thin coil of silver braid on the top of her head that partially uncoils and drops down by her ear.
It only felt right that Impa would drop a bomb on Paya and announce her retirement so casually.
The thin coil braid is a nod to SS Impa.
Calamity Ganon could easily be mistaken for a dragon. Can you imagine? Facing off against a wicked version of Dinraal or Farosh?
Foreshadowing the demon dragon.
You can clearly see she was Hylian by the ears, but the hero has none of Link’s features. He barely looks human. They chose the Champion blue from the color found in the threads that make up the ancient hero’s armor, but up close, she can see it’s a blending. They could have just as easily gone with green.
Nod the ancient hero’s aspect design. I’m so desperate to make this feel connected to botw because it doesn’t, haha.
‘It needed to heal,’ he signs. ‘I decided to let it.’
Again, an easy way to let Link’s characterization explain the detail of them having to retrieve the Master Sword before they descend under castle to investigate in the opening to totk and the Master Sword needing/being able to heal (Zelda’s decision to swallow the stone in totk).
Chapter 5
“Strong name.” The old man tugs off his hat and bows his head. “My name’s Toffa, by the way. My grandfather was head groom for the Royal family a century ago, Princess. His name was Talon.”
Nod to OoT.
Link drops down beside Zelda with two plates of food. He sets one in her lap, ignoring Tauro completely until Zelda picks it up. He’s unusually close. There is a strange edge to him; she feels it along the long line of his thigh against hers. Like she's thumbing the edge of a blade.
It was really fun to make Link a little jealous of Tauro and Zelda be completely oblivious to it.
I just love the entire Riju and Zelda scene. It felt really important for me to spend some time on Zelda facing her grief with Urbosa. I wrote a scene in the Killing Moon where Zelda uses Urbosa’s sword to cut her hair and I loved it so much I wanted to keep that theme with explaining her haircut. And of course, the most simple change between games (Zelda’s appearance) became a moment of a deeper significance.
Chapter 6
“It’s just, I remember reading that the Rito were once thought to be water dwelling.”
Nod to fandom lore Rito evolved from Zora.
“Our ears. They used to be longer.”
Another nod to fandom lore. Hylian ears once being longer to hear messages from goddesses. Sonia longer ears.
Purah’s change in appearance felt like an important change to spend some time on, not just because she’s suddenly older but also why Robbie and Impa didn’t de-age, too. It stands to reason, the same tech that ages her up could be used to alter Robbie and Impa’s age.
The air is damp and heavy. It smells – she thinks about Link and the cave shrine – funnier than it should. Musty and mineral and sickly sweet, like something is rotting behind the bedrock.
Another tiny foreshadowing of gloom.
“Just burn it.” She hears her father in the harshness of her tone. There is ink on her fingers.
Fun fact- this is happening in the exact spot you get the memory in botw where her father scolds her.
“The song you are humming,” She fails to keep the edge out of her tone. “What is it called?”
He’s humming the song of storms in this scene. It’s why storm clouds are approaching and Farosh flies overhead.
“Kondo. The court poet’s name was Kondo. He was a Sheikah.”
Nod to the music composer for many of the iconic LoZ themes- Koji Kondo!
‘I choose you. Do you choose me?’
I wanted to say I love you without saying I love you. And for these two, bonded by destiny, choosing each other feels so much stronger, more significant and romantic to me than a declaration of love alone.
Chapter 7
The entire scene of her walking through the village and being stopped multiple times is my explanation why she eventually wants/needs the secret well.
I wrote the first passage of the story- Zelda wanting a bed- and the last passage - Zelda getting a bed/house- at the same. I broke it up when I gave it to my beta reader and only edited it a little when it was time to put it into the final chapter.
