Well, it was a loveless marriage

There’s no doubt that Ba and Beng care for each other, the two of them nearly inseparable but able to live apart from each other even if they still say “oh they’d love this” or “ah, he’d do this” fondly to someone else. Their bond is pretty strong and well maintained, growing up together and playing in the rivers and holding hands as they ventured through the kingdom in search of the new king or trying to find Liu when he separates from Ma. They were happy and Ba was happy to press up against Beng at night and Beng was more than happy to say he was only one who could do this.

And then he proposed to them.

They said yes, mostly because that’s the normal response to it, right? Marriage and the title, wedding rings and anniversaries. Love.

She’s good at keeping quiet and Beng does make her happy but she doesn’t know why she can’t sleep sometimes or why the things they used to do together lost their meaning..

She didn’t mean to rip herself away from Beng right before the drums started playing, didn’t mean to back away from him when he tried to reach out to her and didn’t meant to shout, “BECAUSE I DON’T LOVE YOU!” right as the first shot was taken from Heaven’s side and struck down one of the soldiers of their army.

They have a lot to talk about.

ladies and gentleman we back to "crying at 5am on a worknight-when will it ever stop?!" and i am sure my period being like a week away is not helping, even tho this feels more like general dread and helplessness and frustration and general mid 20s angst and not more usual pre-period drama it's not making this any better and i am mostly annoyed and angry between sobs....which is an interesting mix of emotions but not unusual
