Let us take as a starting point Lacan's famous statement according to which desire is (always) the desire of the Other. It is important to bear in mind that this phrase does not exclude the ethical maxim: ' do not give up on your desire '. In other words, the dimension of the Other does not exclude the authenticity of the subject's desire. But how is this possible?
Only if we admit that the desire of the Other does not present itself in the form of an answer or a commandment ('1 want this or that!'), but - as Lacan points out - in the form of a question or an enigma, comparable to the one that the Sphinx posed to Oedipus.
The subject will reply and, replying in one way or another, he will write the destiny of his desire. The statement 'desire is the desire of the Other' postulates the Other as the site where the question of desire originally emerges. The point is not that the desire of the Other exists somewhere else, with the subject knowing what it is and making it the model of his own desire.
Exactly the same thing can be said about the Kantian moral law. The subject does not know what the law wants. It is at this point that we can situate a convergence or an encounter between Kant and Lacan. ' The law is a law of the unknown' is the fundamental proposition of any ethics worthy of the name.

don't stress about that opportunity that fell through or that friend you lost or that thing you really want to happen but isn't. as long as you keep your chin up and try try try again, better things will replace your losses. i'm looking at my life rn and actually marveling at how every single thing i stressed about, whether it be an opportunity or a person, got supplanted w another thing that is so much better. it really is true that loss makes space for better things. these days i don't get sad when something doesn't work out. i get excited that i'm now open to so many other possibilities out there, so long as i actively seek them. you never lack. you just transition.

I have absolutely no opinions on the Barbie movie but since I am already seeing discourse about it all over my dash I am begging people once again to get involved in some kind of local activism so they will stop thinking what movies you watch is a hardhitting form of praxis

Looking for a fun activity to do this week? I recommend sitting your loved ones down and having the uncomfortable but necessary discussion where everyone makes sure everyone knows exactly what life extending measures people would and would not want so that so that in the case anyone is in the hospital needing these extreme interventions in order to keep living, you don’t make a hard situation all the more difficult by having to guess what bad option is the one your loved one would want. I also recommend bowling. If you’re brave enough, these two essential activities can and should be combined

Do you have any tips on drawing stuff like gore and blood and…things like that-? :’)
I don't think I'll be able to give you much advice besides telling you to look at those drawn "anatomy guides" stuff, or look at other artist's gore art

I'm really not a villain enjoyer. I love anti-heroes and anti-villains. But I can't see fictional evil separate from real evil. As in not that enjoying dark fiction means you condone it, but that all fiction holds up some kind of mirror to the world as it is. Killing innocent people doesn't make you an iconic lesbian girlboss it just makes you part of the mundane and stultifying black rot of the universe.
"But characters struggling with honour and goodness and the egoism of being good are so boring." Cool well some of us actually struggle with that stuff on the daily because being a good person is complicated and harder than being an edgelord.
Sure you can use fiction to explore the darkness of human nature and learn empathy, but the world doesn't actually suffer from a deficit of empathy for powerful and privileged people who do heinous stuff. You could literally kill a thousand babies in broad daylight and they'll find a way to blame your childhood trauma for it as long as you're white, cisgender, abled and attractive, and you'll be their poor little meow meow by the end of the week. Don't act like you're advocating for Quasimodo when you're just making Elon Musk hot, smart and gay.

I saw people talking about that scene where Yassen shot Max as a huge betrayal of Alex and it's kinda funny to me like yeah he involved Alex in a murder but also I cannot emphasise enough that Alex decided to join a criminal organisation. People have been telling him he'll need to kill for days now, Alex has watched them kill multiple people already, I get that it sucks for him but you cannot team up with a known killer and be that shocked when actually his secret extra mission was to kill

SSSniperwolf really doxxed Jacksfilms because he kept parodying her react content to prove how it is theft/ notify the creators they were stolen from/ shame her out of it.
And then she says she wants a restraining order.
If YouTube doesn't reprimand her in a serious way then they are showing how much they value profit over ethics.
I wonder if Jack will pursue legal action since doxxing is a crime...
Updates below the cut.
Update 1:
YouTube hasn't done or said anything about the situation.
Jack addressed this in a recent video and called for YouTube to deplatform her.
SSSniperwolf mocks the doxxing on her Instagram.
Tumblr media
Update 2:
G Fuel stopped the page where you could buy their SSSniperwolf inspired product but no official statement on it.
Videos are resurfacing of SSSniperwolf's past like transphobia and racism. The main one getting attention is where she asked kids to twerk for her.
Update 3:
Instead of punishing SSSniperWolf YouTube seems to be changing their policies to accommodate her doxxing. They will not be punishing creators for off-platform actions.
Sully G showed this in this tweet and his video
Update 4:
After a week, YouTube has finally issued a response. SSSniperwolf will be receiving a temporary monetization suspension. No mention of how long this suspension will last.
Tumblr media
SSSniperwolf also issued an apology.
Tumblr media
Pretty suspicious how both came out out around the time.
Both of these are pretty shitty and the YouTube community as a whole does not seem to be accepting her apology and disapprove of YouTubes punishment as it is too light.

"How do you stick with one project for so long without abandoning it" "How do you just sit down and work" "How do you make yourself keep working on a comic" "How do you draw and write when there's so many games to play instead--" The answer to these questions is always "I really don't think you understand the degree of hyperfixation I have for these characters." "But how do you keep the same hyperfixation?? Mine only lasts a month or two--" I was obsessed with a single manga from the time I was 15 years old until... Wait, still obsessed, but I think the last time I did fanart for it was two or three years ago now. (My friends know not to accidentally trip the wire and set off a gushing volcano of love on the topic of said manga. I will info dump with the fist of a very neurodivergent god.)
