last movie: there was an Audrey Hepburn marathon on TV and I caught most of Roman Holiday (and can I just say that I never realized that that's the film with that title? Last film I actually watched start to finish & on purpose was The Mummy 3 (because of Michelle Yeoh we watched it on the Gunpowder Milkshake discord <3)

Syscourse (system discourse) technically covers all discourse relating to systems, but it’s really used to talk about one kind of syscourse, the origins one

Basically it’s folks who believe you can’t be a system without trauma, and folks who do. It’s gross and theres a lot of harassment from both sides :/ 

Neither of us mods appreciate anti endos interacting here, so it’s a block on sight kinda thing.

Was there an actual explanation ever as to why exclus think aphobia=mysogeny? There doesn’t seem to be much overlap so like did they just pick randomly or?

Because they assume ace (by extension, aro) people are all white (cis) women looking to be oppressed. They think being harassed/assaulted by someone because you aren’t attracted to them is just misogyny when it comes to ace/aro women.

4. What are your favourite aromantic symbols?

I really like the 5-color green aromantic flag with the white stripe in the middle. It’s really aesthetically pleasing, and I love that as a result, pretty much everything that’s green can be claimed as an aromantic symbol lmao.

I also really like the idea of lizards and plants as aro symbols. The arrow is fun (and so is the theme of archery) but I really love lizards! And plants! So it’s fun to claim them as unofficial aromantic symbols.

6. How would you describe your identity?

Nonbinary aromantic, for sure. I would “technically” fit under the label of non-SAM aromantic (since I don’t use the SAM) but I don’t feel the need to use it. My sexuality is a big ?????? at all points in time and doesn’t affect how I interact with the world at all, so just “aromantic” is good for me.

7. What would your dream life be like?

OOH this is a good question… I think I have aspects of it that I know for sure I would want. A snake and a dog for sure. Maybe a rabbit. Definitely some chickens. I would really like some land for the chickens, and also to plant some vegetables/fruit.

I think the ideal adult living arrangement for me would be living with one or more other people, where we share expenses, go out together, and are all really good friends. Or we live in separate homes, but could share land together so it would practically be living together. The Aro Commune, if you will.

12) What would your ideal offline aromantic community space look like?

Honestly? I’m a very simple person with simple needs. Aromantic people who regularly meet and talk about shit and do activism - maybe talking about the privileges associated with marriage and how that hurts people who don’t want to or can’t get married. (include disabled people in that conversation too!)

17) Do you believe in magic/the supernatural?

Nope! I think it’s a cool thing to entertain but I’m not really into that kind of stuff. Fun to look at, though I try to be careful about the numerous numerous stereotypes and biases that various magic/supernatural things can originate around. Also I tend to avoid it on tumblr due to the sketchy amounts of terfs I encounter when I look at those types of posts.
