Poe and Hera ... you're SO right!! I've never considered her before but now that you've said it there's so much of Hera in Poe

I'm extremely biased in the sense that they're both two of my all-time favorite Star Wars characters, and because frankly I can connect anything in Star Wars back to Poe if you gave me long enough to think about it, but there really are just so many similarities between them.

It's been a hot while since I've rewatched Rebels all the way through (unfortunately), but I always think about Hera's quote in the B-Wing (right? i'm not about embarrass myself by getting something wrong about gffa pilots on main right lmfao) episode: Even when there are explosions all around me and things are at their worst, I feel like I'm at my best.

Like, that's just Poe to me. Not to mention her line about leaving her family, not to fight, but to fly. That's Poe's backstory in a nutshell as well. You also have how important family is to them both, the fact they're part of freedom fighter legacies, their innate sense of defiant hope and optimism, getting captured and tortured, and ofc Hera's relationship with being open about her romance with Kanan sort of reminds me of how although Poe's clearly planning on settling down with the "right partner", his focus is entirely on the Resistance right now -- for both of them, duty comes first.

And then there's just fun little similarities: they both have exceedingly chaotic orange and white droids, they're both Generals, Phoenix Leader/Black Leader, Hera taught Wedge and then Wedge taught Poe -- it's a lot of fun, and I wish canon would perhaps touch a little bit on Poe knowing/knowing of Hera someday.

Starting about 2025 the kids who were 10 when the Sequel Trilogy came out will be in their twenties and there will likely be a reclamation campaign led by them and I'm gonna get some popcorn, sit back, and watch that with a smile. There's gonna be DISCOURSE of course like there was with the Prequels but I've seen my opinion of them turn all the way around mainly by accepting that they are part of the overall story, and they COUNT, they are important to the whole, and I can't ignore them. Plus, finally watching The Clone Wars in its entirety and falling in love with that.

I'm here for it. Young'ens tell me you love Resistance. I can't wait to read more Synara San fics! I've written one myself. There was a lot of good stuff in the Sequels. I want more Crimson Corsair and Clone Trooper Kix. I want more Finpoe. I want Rey to break the cycle and figure out what being a Jedi is like without the Sith around.

This is gonna be fun!
