Months of after-work studying, drawing, trial and error and all-nighters went into getting this together. Definitely a huge learning experience! There are definitely a few things that I'd go back and change/alter on my end, but all in all, I absolutely love how this turned out and Joi and I hope you guys do too!

On a side-note, we know not a lot of people aren’t fans of the Bruno x Pezmuerto ship, but we thought it was cute for this particular AU story. If you're not a fan of the ship, we hope you'll at least stick around and finish it, and maybe even pull other things from it that you'll possibly like :)

This is artwork for chapter 13 which is a very unlucky chapter for one Señora Pezmuerto...

This was so. much. work. (sings: so many kids in la casa Madrigal...)

And when I worked on it, it was often like “omg, will I ever finish? Oh, let’s add some more detail here...” (not helping)

BUT it was also so much fun and I learned a lot and I always ALWAYS wanted to draw a big group picture like that 🙂 Maybe I’ll make it a print and frame it.

PS: There is one easteregg hidden. Can you find it? 

PPS: Working title was “Revenge of the Nibs” but I guess ‘nibs’ is in fact not an abbreviation for ‘niblings‘...

The Madrigals had barely sat down to dinner when Dolores dropped her fork with a clatter. She squeaked, turning towards the window.

“Mija?” Pepa leaned forward in her seat, peering past Félix. “Are you okay?”

Dolores, ironically enough, hardly seemed to hear her mother. She was staring at the window, in the direction of the village, with a sort of horrified awe.

“Dios mio,” she whispered. “It’s happening.”

“Because that’s not alarming at all,” Camilo muttered, shaking Dolores by the shoulder. “What’s happening?”

That seemed to be the signal for the rest of the family to chime in.

“Lola, are you okay?”

“What do you mean? What’s going on?”

“Is it something bad?”

“The Delgados aren’t- uh- experimenting again, right?”

Dolores finally faced them, her eyes wide. She looked like she was experiencing the apocalypse.

“Fish Lady’s boyfriend is proposing,” she said with a wince. “And it’s so bad.”

It was a peaceful evening, until Señora Pezmeurto's boyfriend decided to propose. Things sort of spiraled from there.

In other words, after another thoughtless remark, The Bruno Madrigal Protection Squad is back in business.

Parties at Casa Madrigal have become a bit of a double edged sword for Osma Pezmuerto. 

On the one hand, there is the food and the music and the dancing. No one parties like Familia Madrigal. Osma would be a fool to let even a single opportunity to join these festivities slip through her fingers. 

But on the other hand, there are the Madrigals themselves. 

She used to get along quite well with them. Most of them. Sure, the kids would always roll their eyes whenever she mentioned her fish, while the adults nodded along with that glazed look in their eyes, like they weren’t really listening. 

But Osma is a decent and forgiving woman. She’d never once blamed them for their lack of sympathy. 

Not everyone is capable of loving a pet as deeply as she does, after all.

When the raiders came the refugees split into two groups during the chaos

Bruno was with Pepas family including her sister in law Ozma who he was rivals with

The two of them watched as their siblings sacrificed themselves for them and their daughter

Their sacrifice blessed the family and brought forth a miracle

Bruno received the gift of super-hearing

He used his gift to look out for the fledgling village and ensure that the raiders wouldn’t return

Ozma got the gift of controlling water

She used it to purify the river to be safe to drink and terraform the vally

They bonded over leading the new town together and raising their niece they married when she was four

Dolores was very exited to be the flower girl

When she was five they were completely shocked when she got a gift they had thought they would be the only ones

Dolores received the gift of healing with food

Bruno and Ozma tried for years to have a child and eventually thought they would need to be content with just Dolores

But one day when Dolores was sixteen two new glowing doors appeared in casita

Ozma was pregnant with twins

Nine months later they had Alejandra and Juancho they were the spitting image of their parents

Their family was finally compleat

I... My damned bilingual brain!!!

When I said sometimes I should say french words and instead I use English words without even noticing....I even wrote that part as I would do in English instead of what I should do in French!!!

Oh and I finished my chapter 12! Just need to reread it, then give it to a friend, checking it again, and I'll be able to start translating it by hand. Again, that fanfic will be the last I do that, it's way too exhausting and almost nobody read it in french!
