At first, his attention remains on the documents at hand as he decided a long time ago that whatever conversation the leaf kunoichi started would be work-related – she's borderline shy, after all. So when his response is to look up only to get context on what Hinata was referring to as beautiful, Gaara is a little astonished to learn that it's actually one of his favorite works. He'd pressed that flower shortly after the War, the revelation that his mother never hated him in the first place making it easier for Gaara to look into her past, and that's when he first encountered her journal. Karura would write her every thought into those pages, including her favorite flowers: desert roses from the adenium family. His gaze lingered on the frame for a moment longer, once again mesmerized by the flower and its beauty. The petals wore the black proudly until halfway through, where it would eventually change to a lighter shade of purple and then to the purest white the Kazekage had ever seen. He exhales quietly, with a sorrowful smile he doesn't attempt to hide – they'd been robbed of so much already, he wouldn't let a dead man take anymore from him. “  — Yes... I pressed those. They were my mother's favorite. Thank you.  ”  It felt weird saying it out loud, mentioning his mother and a tidbit about her. It made Karura feel real – more real than the reminiscence of her chakra in his gourd. Finally, Gaara aimed his eyes at Hinata, dropping the pen he'd been holding – a simple gesture but one that meant he'd give her his undivided attention for now.  “  — Would you like to visit our greenhouse? ... These can wait, anyway.  ”

Summary: Your constant time away leaves Gaara jealous.

You were always away for missions with Sasuke. When you came home, you were always tired from a long day. Gaara couldn't stand seeing you tired all the time. He wanted you home more; he wanted your attention. However, when the next morning came, you were leaving for yet another mission. Gaara wanted to say something, he wanted to do something, but he didn't know what to do. To separate you from your missions would be selfish. He sat staring out the window of his office that overlooked the city of the Sand Village. He wanted to talk to someone about his feelings, but he didn't want to seem like he was having relationship problems. He didn't want to burden someone else with his issues. He put his hands in his head as his thoughts and feelings wracked his brain again and again. He stood up suddenly with such force that the chair fell backwards. He didn't mean to, and he didn't expect you to be in the room with his sudden outburst.

"Gaara, what's wrong?" You asked as you stood in front of the closed door. You had stepped inside and closed the door behind you earlier, calling out to Gaara but had no response. You had wondered if he was even in the room when the chair had fallen over, confirming the fact he was here.

"Y/N, I miss you when you're out on missions." He said as his back remained facing you.

"Do you think I should take fewer missions?" You asked as you took small steps further into the room. You had never once seen Gaara angry. You weren't sure what to do. You did miss him as much as he missed you. Today you both had the day off, but Gaara, unknowingly, assumed it was another day of missions and had hidden himself away in his office. So very few, if any, would bother him.

"It's your choice. I don't want to take away something you love, out of jealousy…" You didn't hear the ending of his sentence, but you responded.

"You're not taking anything away. You're right, I am taking on too many missions. I miss you."

He smiled slightly and turned around to face you.

"We could hang out more and… or even go on missions together."

"That sounds like fun." You said, smiling as you stepped closer to Gaara. He uncrossed his arms and held them open. You didn't hesitate to step closer and wrap your arms around him. He hugged you back and kissed your head.

"Today's my day off." You said as you continued to hold him.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know. What do you want to do today?"

"We could take a walk around the city or go to a restaurant?"

"Why not both?" He asked as he began to let go of you.

"Let's go." You said, smiling happily as you held onto his arm. You gave a gentle pull, and he followed you out of his office and out into the city.

Hey, I'm the 2 Jinchuriki have a kid anon.

My question was motivated by the fact that Biju chakra has n effect on the Body of the Jinchuriki. Like Narutos whisket marks, which he did pass on. And even without Bio indicators wouldn't it have at least some influence over the chakra that's passed on?

Like, f. E. Couldn't Gaaras Kids perhaps have the sand control (in a lesser capacity) without being Jinchuriki?

And even if sperm donors have less to pass on, they do pass on stuff. Idk, but if we take the whisker marks Naruto passed on (as the sperm donor) and suspect, that he didn't swarm hinata with Biju chakra during the pregnancies, something similar could be the case for anyone else?

Or do you think that unless one is an Uzumaki being a Jinchuriki could render them infertile

I mean, I gave you my opinion: I don't think two jinchuriki parents would make a baby any more special than one jinchuriki parent. But chakra is made-up magic biology, so you're free to disagree with me. You can headcanon Gaara's children could have sand control from Shukaku. I'm not saying you can't. I would accept that in a fic without a second thought. It's just not a headcanon I would organically come up with on my own.

My personal opinion is that the whisker mark lore is largely a nonsensical non-starter. I'll accept Naruto got them from Kushina, bc the environment of the womb can do all sorts of things, but Kishimoto supposedly meant to give Boruto the Byakugan and forgot, so I don't think the design decision to give him whiskers really, like, means anything. I only brought it up because I knew if I didn't, people would comment on it.

I've seen fic tropes about magic ninja sperm and magic macho chakra affecting pregnancies, and it's fine if you like that, but I find the concept pretty weird and borderline squicky.

Couple gaaleesakuino thoughts

Naruto asks Sakura why she's being so friendly with Gaara for no apparent reason (Naruto is oblivious as always). Sakura cheerfully informs him that she's Gaara's sister-bride! Horrified Naruto laments her definitely being forced to join Gaara's harem. Sakura corrects his thoughts after laughing her ass off. Gaara's her brother-husband, too silly! They're both married to Lee! (Gaara came up with the term during one of his maaany one-on-ones with Ino. She, on the other hand, is his 'sister-double-in-law')

Because of *cough* some bullshit *cough* I mean. Good!Orochimaru research, or Sakura's own ingenuity, Metal Lee is gaalee's bio son, even though both his fathers are transmasc, while Inojin is sakuino's bio son, even though both of his mothers are transfem. The kids are both cross-adopted, of course, plus Shinki is their adopted sibling! Still, step?-brothers Metal and Inojin. (Does this technically make Inojin be Shikadai's step-cousin?? Idk. I've tried my best with other headcanons etc but shipping characters in all the different eras (founders, naruto adjecent, boruto era) have made it near-impossible for me to avoid distant incest. A ramble for another post.)

Ino is still a clan heir, of a clan that resides in Konoha and has very strong ties with it through the Akimichi and the Nara. Gaara, as the Kazekage, could pull rank and diplomacy and allow Ino to move to Suna, sure, but Ino loves her clan! And Gaara loves Suna.. I think that Gaara and Lee would be primarily based in Suna (with Shinki and Metal as well) while Sakura and Ino (and Inojin) live mainly in Konoha, but with many many trips and stays and missions and international assignments etc. Sakura and Ino staying in Suna for a couple months "to help with the hospital and mental health infrastructure". Lee and Gaara visiting Konoha every festival and stuff like that.

That's not to say Lee and Sakura don't get their time together! Joint missions for sure, but sometimes only the one of them will visit the other's country, leaving Gaara/Ino behind. They've got fewer clan/political obligations to uphold, so they don't have to worry about excuses nearly as much. They love each other very very much and are suuuper married.

Surnames-wise.. I think Sakura takes the Yamanaka name. Ino keeps her as clan head. Gaara doesn't actually *have* a family surname. Rock Lee would take Haruno, but since Sakura doesn't keep it.. He'd take Yamanaka, too, since he's technically married to one now (Yamanaka Sakura!), but in the end, he stays with his own. What is it, you ask? Hatake, of course! Hatake Rock Lee. So Gaara copies Sakura and takes Lee's surname. Hatake Gaara!!! Kids are Hatake Shinki, Hatake Metal Lee, and Yamanaka Inojin.

Seriously, you may regret this. I started watching Naruto when I was 7...I created Kurono when I was 10. She's the most fleshed out character I've ever created in my life, and I also write novels. When I first created her, she was going to end up with Kiba and then I fell in love with Itachi and she was with him. But then I started to actually appreciate Kankuro and she...developed into something else, which is putting it mildly. This is long and I warned you that it was going to be a lot.

I used the same character creator you used from piccrew for her!

Warning: Kurono is a little messed up. I live for angst. She's been through a lot and has been a bit violent.

So Kurono is Nagato's little sister. She was a baby when their parents died so she doesn't remember them or their deaths. She ended up being raised by Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan, which considering the fact that they all needed a real adult and therapy means that she was bound to have some issues. Between the teens being busy with the Akatsuki and the villagers, she ended up becoming jealous and impatient with them. She convinced Konan to take her with her to help the orphans of Amegakure and she met her future genin team (my other OCs Daiki and Mamorou, who happen to be twins, but their bios are for a different day). When Yahiko died and Nagato merged with the Gedo Statue, Kurono was a bit of a mess and convinced Konan to let the twins move in with them.

When the Akatsuki grew and became the group that we all know and love, Pain had the various members train her. Kakuzu downright said "no" until she snuck in and organized the mission requests they got and he decided to take her on as his silent assistant (one he wouldn't pay). She was incompetent when it came to puppet mastery (her own team ended up smacked around a few times), though Sasori was able to teach her medical ninjutsu and she's freakishly strong because of it. Kisame taught her how to use a sword and was the one who gave her her weapon. Konan taught her how to use her paper ninjutsu and it's her jutsu of choice. She's terrible with genjutsu and is very susceptible to it. She summons a wolf named Reiko. Orochimaru experimented on her quite a lot and with the help of Sasori, some of Shukaku was implanted into her. When she falls asleep, the pseudo-jinchuriki side of her takes over and she blacks out entirely and performance extreme acts of violence, which comes to head during her time at the Academy when she ends up killing her entire class, except for the twins. This happened on the day that Itachi joined the Akatsuki, and she became attached to him very quickly. Pain and Konan hid Kurono's role in the deaths of the citizens, but Amegakure doesn't quite trust her (which is fair).

When the chunin exams come, Pain sends Kurono and the twins to the exams to get an update on how Naruto is progressing, not even knowing that Gaara is Shukaku's host. She meets Kankuro there and they immediately start flirting with each other. She ends up musing what he looks like under the paint and hood and calls him "Kitty" because of the cat ears on the hood (he calls her "Red" because of her hair). She jokingly asks if he has tentacles underneath the hood and makes him an origami version of what she thinks he would look like with said tentacles, which he ends up keeping.

After the chunin exams, she ends up becoming a full-fledged member of the Akatsuki, but keeps that side of her life hidden from Kankuro, whom she continues to see over the years as she gathers intel on Gaara. In a long, very hard to explain and extremely detailed, series of events, Orochimaru's experimenting on her and my best friend's OC results in her developing a rinnegan. When the Akatsuki kills Gaara, she tries to stop the extraction of Shukaku, but isn't successful. Actually seeing Gaara die makes her rethink her involvement with the Akatsuki and she starts leaking information about the organization anonymously to Kankuro.

But when the twins die, she goes a bit mad with grief and (without giving you way too much more information than I already have) goes to Konoha to retrieve Daiki's body, effectively giving up her identity as a member of the Akatsuki. She stops sending Kankuro information and the only thing that gets her out of her grief and anger is Itachi. She starts leaking information to Suna once again, but during that time she falls in love with Itachi. She admits to him that she had been delaying the Akatsuki and leaking intel to Suna, and after awhile of getting to know her better and her walking in on him coughing up blood, he tells her everything and shortly after they start a relationship. And the big plan was for her to leave and get far away from the Shinobi world before he died and get completely away from the influence of the Akatsuki.

Unfortunately, they may be intelligent people, but they were useless virgins when they got together and she ends up getting pregnant not too long into their relationship. The pregnancy makes them want to speed up the process of her getting away from the Akatsuki, but without the time they needed to get her away, she decides to go to Suna and seeks asylum with them. After being interrogating for a hell of a long time by Kankuro and his intelligence team, they decide to keep her under close eye. Which leads to Kurono moving in with Kankuro (oh my god. They were roommates). At first, he's still dealing with how betrayed he felt by her being Akatsuki, but after hearing her whole story and seeing her genuinely try to help them, she sneaks her way into his heart again. Kankuro holds her hand while she gives birth, which is precious when you consider how much he doesn't actually like kids too much. But oh, he loves Kurono's daughter Mitsu. She also calls him "Kitty," like her mother does, and he's basically wrapped around her little finger. She looks a lot like Itachi, except her eyes which are Kurono's original amber-colored eyes.

It's a bit of slow-burn for Kurono and Kankuro, since she grieves Itachi's death and doesn't know how to process her feelings for Kankuro. In the middle of the war, Kankuro tells her that he has feelings for her and kisses her because he doesn't want to die regretting that he never told her. And she malfunctions a bit over it but she isn't able to fully process it.

After the war it's even more of a slow burn and takes a few years before she really realizes that she's in love with him and when she goes to tell him, he's going on a date with someone else. So she fakes a date with some random guy so he doesn't question why she's dressed up and gets drunk at a bar (Gaara agreed to watch Mitsu so Kurono could confess how she felt for his brother, which would be a great time to be a fly on the wall to watch that night of babysitting), not knowing that Kankuro was taking his date there after dinner. And he gets really pissed, thinking she was stood up, and leaves his date to take her back home. She sobers up while he's ranting about the asshole that wouldn't want to go out with her, and she ends up telling him that he was the date she was trying to go onto. But thankfully for her, he still had feelings for her and they finally get their shit together and start an actual relationship.

They're a mess, at times. It takes her awhile to realize that he isn't going to die on her. It takes him awhile to believe she could love him (hello, her ex was THE Itachi Uchiha, but she lets it slip once that Kankuro is the best sex she's ever had and it gets to his head). She gets jealous pretty easily when she thinks about the women in the village who have been with him before (completely ignoring the fact that she literally has a kid with another man). When she drinks, she gets insanely jealous and is prone to try to fight whatever girl has been checking Kankuro out, which he thinks is pretty hot because of how strong she is and he tends to egg it on at times. They don't discuss marriage until she keeps crying at Naruto and Hinata's wedding, and he suddenly realizes that she may want to get married. And then they get married very quickly and Mitsu asks Kankuro to adopt her (he cries later when he thinks he's alone, but Kurono catches him). He's very proud of his wife and he definitely refers to her as "wife" as much as he can.

Mitsu trains underneath him and becomes a puppet master. I also have it in my head that she becomes one of Shinki's advisors when he becomes the Kazekage and they're an unstoppable duo. Mitsu also has a major crush on Mirai and I love the angst of "the organization that your mother was a part of killed my father" to lovers.

But Kurono and Kankuro are very cute, and she gets very fired up, very easily when she feels like someone isn't treating him right. He is very soft for her and buys her things when he sees something and thinks of her.

This was so much and I actually apologize for it, but you told me to tell you all of it. So here it is....

Have y’all actually read Rin__Mori oc’s bio ? The girl was in her twenties in part one basically in Kakashi’s age group or younger did her author forget that? By part 2 she was already in her thirties, how is she paired with Gaara ? I’m confused cause she so righteous about how one should write a relationship with gaara when she been fucking it up since day one , I want to talk to her to help her improve but she probably going to shoot me down and call me a hater. I feel like if she’s not a troll she is trying trying to pull from her own culture but is doing it in a way that comes off as silly her color palette is so saturated you can’t see her features and some of the people she commissions have never colored a black person the skin tone is all over the place. It was cool seeing a black girl be drawn with gaara but I feel like this is a caricature and just a ploy for black fishing cause I don’t think a black girl would actually do this.

Oh yeah, she'll call you a jealous hater if you want to help her. I have nothing against couples with an age gap, as long as it doesn't involve a minor Gaara with an adult oc. If their relationship started when he was a minor, she shouldn't be so righteous. Did you all see her first art commission? It's about her oc grabbing him in the desert to kidnapp him, and physically abusing him when she made him he look so weak pffff what a mary sue. Like he was a kazegake for no reason. What was disturbing about her mary sue was that it seemed like she really enjoyed doing that out of pure sadism and malice. She traumatized an already traumatized man and she wants to convince us they're the best gaaoc couple?? Give me a break.

I want to mention that finally you got our point Op ! Yes, her colors are too saturated, which makes it hard to see her facial features. I agree with you, the artists she commissions can't seem to draw a black person or Rin Mori herself doesn't want her main character to have black facial features.

The audacity in all of this is that she is racist towards white skinned gaaocs. Another anon pointed out that she is Nigerian yet she made her oc look like a white western girl with a tan gone very very wrong.

Let's be honest, the only thing black about her is her skin and her white henna tattoos, which are from her Nigerian culture?. I'm puzzled because she as a black person, she should be proud of her black African culture, but it feels like she's blackfishing. It's almost insulting to other black oc owners who don't troll.

Gaara sat at his office desk, his face in his hand as he twirled a pen around in his free one.

He looked rather sad, but he couldn't tell you what was wrong.

He wanted to give you a gift for Valentine's day. Sure, you'd be happy with whatever he decided to give you, but he wanted it to be special. Something you would like and or want.

Occasionally, he would stop twirling the pen and doodle.

Kankurō had gone inside and gone to Gaara's office to check and see if he was there.

"Gaara, are you in here?" Kankurō asked as he opened the door. Gaara stood facing the window, his back to the door, and his arms crossed.

"What is it, Kankurō?" Gaara asked with a sigh. 

"I just came to check on you. Are you doing alright?"

"No, not really. It's almost Valentine's day and I still don't have a present for Y/N."

"Oh, maybe you could surprise them with a date?" Kankurō suggested as he put his hand behind his head nervously.

"Are you sure? I don't know if they'd like that or not."

"Of course! You'll just have to make it romantic, though. So it doesn't seem like any other date."

"How would I do that and how could I keep them away long enough so they don't walk in and see the surprise?"

"Just put on a decorative tablecloth and a couple of flowers, and buy them a gift you think they'd like. Something like chocolate or a stuffed creature. I can have Temari or I distract them while you get to work."

"Alright, thank you for your help, Kankurō."

"No problem! So when's your date?"

"How about tonight for dinner?"

Kankurō looked at his wrist before looking back at Gaara. "That's only a few hours away!"

"It shouldn't be that hard. I'm sure I can fix it in that amount of time."

"Alright, I'll go distract them," Kankurō said as he ran to go find you.

Gaara sighed as he wondered whether he would be able to complete it or not.

He walked downstairs and to the dining room. The table was large enough to seat at least ten or more people. 

"I'm not sure that this would be a good enough spot."

He looked around and found the nearest closet. Finding a red tablecloth, he walked away to try to find a smaller table.

He was trying his best. This was all new to him and he wanted it to be the best Valentine's for you. 

He found a table and some chairs, trying to carry all three to his bedroom. No, his office.

He paused, table and chair in his arms, the second chair lying on the ground behind him.

If he put the table in the bedroom, you might think of other things and he wasn't ready for all that yet.

If he put it in his office… 

It was decided then, it would be in his office. After all, it also had a nice view.

Gaara set up the table and one chair, before going down to grab the tablecloth, and grabbing the chair on his way back to his office.

He put the tablecloth over the table and it was much larger than the small table he had picked up, but it would have to do.

Gaara then left his office, closing the door behind him. He went to try to find some flowers.

He wasn't sure how easy it was to find or pick some up, but he wasn't giving up.

He decided he would try the market first. The setting sun cast a red-orange glow on the horizon. The temperature dropped - it would only get colder from there as the night came.

Gaara had found the flowers and gifts he was looking for and headed back.

He stopped for a moment, looking northwest. If Kankurō had you, he would have taken you to see a puppet show.

You would be just fine and it's doubtful you'd be outside, anyway.

The Sand Siblings have lived in the village long enough to know that it can become freezing temperatures at night. They had warned you when you first came to the village, to make sure you wouldn't freeze.

Kankurō wouldn't keep you out too late and he wouldn't let you get cold.

He sighed and headed into the tower, making his way to the office and, as he did, he dropped flower petals along the way. A trail for you to follow.

Gaara opened up the door to his office, dropping several flowers in the process.

He set the flowers on the table and dropped a few more.

He had bought more flowers than he could carry, but you would be happy. He hoped.

Gaara grabbed a few candles from his bag, set them on the table, and lit them.

He set his gifts next to his spot at the table and headed down to the kitchen to grab some food and drinks.

The food, drinks, and decor were set. He looked around, liking what he saw and hoping you thought the same.

He sat down and waited for the sound of you coming, forgetting to close the door.

Kankurō and you were talking right outside the room. You hadn't noticed anything yet.

Kankurō wished you well and headed off to some place.

You reached out to try to grab the doorknob to open it, but touched nothing.

You looked at the door that had been opened. Gaara stood and smiled at you. 

"Happy Valentine's day, Y/N."

Your mouth fell open in shock. You took a moment to look around the room, seeing the lit candles, the many flowers, and the small table with food.

You stepped closer to Gaara and hugged him.

"Thank you. Happy Valentine's day!"

He hugged you back before grabbing the candy and a stuffed toy.

"I got you these," He said as he handed them to you.

You smiled and held them close to you.

"Thank you so much."

"You're welcome. I also got us some food." He spoke as he gestured to the table.

You set your gifts next to your spot and sat down.

Gaara sat down with a worried look and asked, "Do you like it?"

"Of course I do! Thank you so much! I also got you something."

"You're welcome. What is it?" He said, smiling as he looked at you.

You looked at him with a smile and took a bite of your food as booms could be heard outside.

Gaara looked out the window to see red, white, and silver fireworks. His mouth fell open in shock.

"A firework display?"

"Yes, happy Valentine's day." 

"Thank you."

He said as he looked at you and began to eat his food.

Biography:

Born into the Kazekage clan Rasa was raised a shinobi, learning from an early age to put the value of the village above everything else, even at the expense of his own happiness and life along with those around him.

Eventually upon the disappearance of the Third Kazekage he eventually became the Fourth Kazekage.

At some point he met and fell in love with the woman that became his wife, Karura. Over the time of their marriage the Wind Daimyo began to increase funding cuts on Sunagakure he faced increasing pressure to produce an heir that could be the vassal for Shukaku. His first two children proved to be incompatible but much to his distress his last child proved to be a compatible and he was pressured into sealing Shukaku into his unborn son.

Upon his final child's birth and the loss of his wife he went through a long period of barely being able to function, hiding it well he ended up leaving much of Gaara's care to Yashamaru outside of training his son along with being extremely over protective and to some extent spoiling all three of his children. That came to an end around when Gaara had turned six and due to his son's lack of control. He gave his son 'one final test' and used his brother in law as a pawn in hopes of Gaara proving that he could control Shukaku.

Despite (in his opinion) his son being a 'failure' for the next six years he sent several assassins to kill him, knowing full well they would all fail. What he never told anyone was that he never had any desire or intention to kill his son and simply hoped to appease the village elders and hoped that maybe it would buy him more time to develop a means to bring his son under control, even if it had to be through fear.

Eventually out of sheer desperation due to the financial struggles falling upon the village he allied with Orochimaru and planned to overthrow Konoha in hopes of gaining more finances and resources from the Wind Daimyo.

Character Notes:

➢ The five or the six shinobi he sent to kill his son were picked specifically because he knew they would fail and because for one reason or another he felt they were either detrimental to the welfare of the village or a disgrace to it. Think a jonin that abandoned his mission as an act of self preservation or cowardice, a drunkard that routinely fails missions, suspected traitors, etc. The only exception was a kunoichi the council had sent to try to become his second wife with the secondary mission of using Karura's memory to influence Gaara, he turned around and revealed he knew what she was doing and threatened to either kill her himself or she go through with the other half of the mission, only for him to immediately handicap her by sending her on an S-rank mission before hand so she was even less capable than before.

➢ Much of his portrayal revolves around the idea of him being a failure of a parent learning just how wrong he was and playing off the idea of Rasa's last conversation with Gaara in Shippuden and how it might affect things if he had survived from the get go and facing the consequences of his decision and mindset along with his attempts to rectify his decision knowing full well that his mistakes are not so easily 'fixed'.

Verses: 

Main Verse. v; the cost of utilitarianism (main verse) //

Upon allying with Orochimaru he totally expected to be betrayed but ultimately was still caught off guard when on his way to Konoha when Orochimaru attacked and nearly killed him while killing his guards.

Orochimaru had managed to strip the uniform from him but upon creating an opening despite his injuries he managed to escape into the desert. As it turns out while he did escape he had wasted so much energy and time that by the time he had manage to be found barely alive by Suna shinobi it was to late.

Upon being kept in intensive care for days he eventually did stabilize but Orochimaru's attack had damaged his spine and left him with permanent weakness and numbness the became worse the lower down his body that one went and made him ultimately unfit to be anything more than a temporary placeholder until a new Kazekage could be appointed.

In that time while reluctant to get his hopes up and believe what he was seeing began to notice the change in his youngest son and by the time his son took the role of Kazekage he was more than happy to step down as a show of trust and faith in what Gaara could do.

Note: Any interactions unless plotted otherwise (or if the other muns has other preferences) are immediately after the chunin exams or revolving around time before Gaara became Kazekage.
