so for like, the 2 people paying attention to me talking about my "secret project" on my main blog, i hope you like the result, because my december project has been...

LOW BALLERS!!!!!!!!!

ive been quietly painting ducks and creating myself a trio of little guys over the last, hm, 2? 3 weeks?

i dont even rember. but ive been planning this for months, i just didnt have time around university to do it til now.

BUT i had so much fun with these. painting ducks is surprisingly fun and it all went really well! i think the only issue is the only hats i could get had a straw texture already applied.

i used silver for details, mostly because i forgot to buy white and i thought id see how silver looked so i could dodge trying to buy more paint at christmas, and it looked good on the first so i stuck with it!

for those curious: i used white racing ducks (means they dont squeak or squish, but i think thats ideal for a painting project) and plastic hats designed for dolls and crafts. and wine bottles toppers, according to the terrible names that these get on amazon. with acrylic paints and superglue to affix the hats down. they aren't waterproof, sorry to the belivers.

heres a turnaround for ya'll too, i added some goofy details like sparkles around the glasses and the hat. its a tragedy i couldnt get metallic paints for the hat.

i think thats all ive got to say, hope everyone else likes my little guys the way i do :3 now on to make more until i have an undefeatable army of them...

Couple gaaleesakuino thoughts

Naruto asks Sakura why she's being so friendly with Gaara for no apparent reason (Naruto is oblivious as always). Sakura cheerfully informs him that she's Gaara's sister-bride! Horrified Naruto laments her definitely being forced to join Gaara's harem. Sakura corrects his thoughts after laughing her ass off. Gaara's her brother-husband, too silly! They're both married to Lee! (Gaara came up with the term during one of his maaany one-on-ones with Ino. She, on the other hand, is his 'sister-double-in-law')

Because of *cough* some bullshit *cough* I mean. Good!Orochimaru research, or Sakura's own ingenuity, Metal Lee is gaalee's bio son, even though both his fathers are transmasc, while Inojin is sakuino's bio son, even though both of his mothers are transfem. The kids are both cross-adopted, of course, plus Shinki is their adopted sibling! Still, step?-brothers Metal and Inojin. (Does this technically make Inojin be Shikadai's step-cousin?? Idk. I've tried my best with other headcanons etc but shipping characters in all the different eras (founders, naruto adjecent, boruto era) have made it near-impossible for me to avoid distant incest. A ramble for another post.)

Ino is still a clan heir, of a clan that resides in Konoha and has very strong ties with it through the Akimichi and the Nara. Gaara, as the Kazekage, could pull rank and diplomacy and allow Ino to move to Suna, sure, but Ino loves her clan! And Gaara loves Suna.. I think that Gaara and Lee would be primarily based in Suna (with Shinki and Metal as well) while Sakura and Ino (and Inojin) live mainly in Konoha, but with many many trips and stays and missions and international assignments etc. Sakura and Ino staying in Suna for a couple months "to help with the hospital and mental health infrastructure". Lee and Gaara visiting Konoha every festival and stuff like that.

That's not to say Lee and Sakura don't get their time together! Joint missions for sure, but sometimes only the one of them will visit the other's country, leaving Gaara/Ino behind. They've got fewer clan/political obligations to uphold, so they don't have to worry about excuses nearly as much. They love each other very very much and are suuuper married.

Surnames-wise.. I think Sakura takes the Yamanaka name. Ino keeps her as clan head. Gaara doesn't actually *have* a family surname. Rock Lee would take Haruno, but since Sakura doesn't keep it.. He'd take Yamanaka, too, since he's technically married to one now (Yamanaka Sakura!), but in the end, he stays with his own. What is it, you ask? Hatake, of course! Hatake Rock Lee. So Gaara copies Sakura and takes Lee's surname. Hatake Gaara!!! Kids are Hatake Shinki, Hatake Metal Lee, and Yamanaka Inojin.

“Who did that?” 

“Who did what?” Hero asked back, bit back more aggressively than they meant, harsher than they had ever spoken to any of their lovers, refusing to look at Civilian’s eyes. 

“Don’t play stupid, who cut your hair?” they kept their voice firm, approaching the bed. 

The cackling of a vanilla scented candle was all other sound that could be heard in between answers, Civilian had lit it up as they prepared the house for the arrival of their lovers home, always bloody and battered, always tired, angry, hurt in some way. They had grown accustomed to such a routine, to not panic at the sight of ache from the ones they loved, not for any scar, not for  any bruise, they were diligent, they knew how to treat them, how to comfort them after their cuts had been cleaned. 

Very few things made them crack.

That day, anger made their ears burn red. And for each moment Hero took to answer, something ugly blubbered inside Civilian.

 “I did,” Hero finally answered, voice just barely trembling at the end of the word “it was getting in the way of my duty.”

“Don’t lie to me.” 

“I’m not!” 

Civilian took a deep breath. 

“You grew your hair for three years, you cried that time it almost got burnt in a fire, you didn’t speak a word to Villain for weeks after” Civilian took their hand “I’ve never seen you take care of something better, you loved your hair long, we loved your hair long as well, it was part of you.” 

A strained whimper left their throat. 

“So I’m going to ask you one last time. Who. Cut. Your. Hair?” 

“Handler did, under Superhero’s orders.” 

“Go shower, I’ll talk to Villain.” 

“I don’t wanna make a big…”

“Stop,” Civilian answered, quickly cutting Hero short, standing from the side of the Hero, reaching for the door “whatever happens they brought upon themselves. I’ll finish dinner while you wind down, we’ll talk about this  when Villain comes home.” 

“Yes, love.” 

Civilian’s eyes softened at the low, almost meek tone called their attention right back at Hero. 

“I’m sorry angel, I’m so very angry right now,” they said, extending a hand once more to touch Hero’s face, stroking their cheek with their thumb “but not at you, never at you.”

Hero leaned into their touch, holding the back of their hand to bury themselves deeper into the touch. 

“I mean you look good anyways, I’m sure Villain will think so too, you know they like them rugged.” 

Both laughed lightly, halfheartedly. 

“I’ll fix that mess they left after dinner.” Civilian said at last, kissing the crown of the other’s head.
