In the 1920s, the richest people per capita in the world were members of the Osage Nation in Oklahoma. After oil was discovered beneath their land, the Osage rode in chauffeured automobiles, built mansions, and sent their children to study in Europe. Then, one by one, the Osage began to be killed off. The family of an Osage woman, Mollie Burkhart, became a prime target. One of her relatives was shot. Another was poisoned. And this was just the beginning, as more and more Osage were dying under mysterious circumstances, and many of those who dared to investigate the killings were themselves murdered. As the death toll rose, the newly created FBI took up the case, and the young director, J. Edgar Hoover, turned to a former Texas Ranger named Tom White to try to unravel the mystery. White put together an undercover team, including a Native American agent who infiltrated the region, and together with the Osage began to expose one of the most chilling conspiracies in American history.

actually i love it when the characters are all lying. i love it when they all have secrets and none of them trust each other. i love being given clues that solve puzzles i haven't even been presented with yet. i also love it when i get chills watching a scene without even knowing what it means, and when i do know what it means, i get even more chills. i love theorizing and thinking and solving and coming up with possibilities of where a story might be going. i love it and i will do it for free, for fun, for no real reason.
this is a mystery appreciation post!! if you appreciate mysteries and secrets and stories that slowly unravel before you, please interact!!!

i love murder mysteries that don't try too hard. realism who cares about realism, a billionaire was murdered in a swimming pool and diamonds are hiding in the champagne ice bucket. here's an abundance of clues, we got initialed handkerchiefs and smashed wristwatches galore, they're all red herrings but gosh they're fun to decorate with. alibis, no one has an alibi, or everyone does and they're all about to tumble like a house of cards, don't overthink it. you want to GUESS the murderer? FUCK OFF, we'll get there when we get there, just enjoy the ride you hussy!!! provides a nice alternative to true crime's voyeuristic "this normal real-life woman you never met was brutally murdered and the guy who did it will never be caught or punished"

Wanna hear a really sweet solangelo headcanon?
So, I have a Will headcanon that he’s an adventure time, steven universe, gravity falls, svtfoe, infinity train, the owl house, and basically cartoon fandom bisexual nerd (along with sci fi and detective/ mystery thriller but tht’s besides the point).
One of his first songs he learned on ukulele and guitar are songs from adventure time and steven universe but his fav to play when he’s stressed or “stimming” is the Island Song (or come along with me/ adventure time end credits).
Before they started dating, Nico one day was having a panic/ anxiety attack or was just overstimulated and stressed and spotted Will under a secluded tree or in the strawberry fields (idk) playing the Island Song. He was listening from afar and surprisingly, he felt calmer and at ease.
Now whenever Nico has a nightmare or is overstimulated, Will would sing or hum the Island Song. Sometimes Nico would get lulled to sleep or would quietly sing along with him.
Bonus ramble: Also, Island Song is the easiest song to learn on ukulele and guitar, tht’s why imo, it’s a good “stimming song” and the lyrics is really sweet in this scenario too 😭 like it’s such a simple song yet has a lot of depth to it too, okay I’m done rambling.

From a former law enforcement park ranger and investigator, this female-driven true crime adventure follows the author’s quest to find missing hikers along the Pacific Crest Trail by pairing up with an eclectic group of unlikely allies.   As a park ranger with the National Park Service's law enforcement team, Andrea Lankford led search and rescue missions in some of the most beautiful (and dangerous) landscapes across America, from Yosemite to the Grand Canyon. But though she had the support of the agency, Andrea grew frustrated with the service's bureaucratic idiosyncrasies, and left the force after twelve years. Two decades later, however, she stumbles across a mystery that pulls her right back where she left - three young men have vanished from the Pacific Crest Trail, the 2,650-mile trek made famous by Cheryl Strayed's Wild , and no one has been able to find them. It’s bugging the hell out of her.   Andrea’s concern soon leads her to a wild environment unlike any she’s ever ventured into - missing person Facebook groups. Andrea launches an investigation, joining forces with an eclectic team of amateurs who are determined to solve the cases: a mother of the missing, a retired pharmacy manager, and a mapmaker who monitors terrorist activity for the government. Together, they track the activities of kidnappers and murderers, investigate a cult, rescue a psychic in peril, cross paths with an unconventional scientist, and reunite an international fugitive with his family. Searching for the missing is a brutal psychological and physical test with the highest stakes, but eventually their hardships begin to bear strange fruits—ones that lead them to places and people they never saw coming.

Genloss feels too real. It feels like i could reach out and touch it
that's because it is real!!! genloss is basically just a more noticeably fucked up version of the world we live in. all of the horrors in genloss have pretty direct parallels to the real world (niki's character + death, ranboo's mask being emblematic of their success as well as their misery, evil megacorporations exploiting people to please an audience, charlie's indoctrination into the content machine since childhood, content creators being disposable and replaceable, jfc i could go on forever).
i'm not sure if that's what you were getting at but. everywhere i look i just see genloss and i just really appreciate the analytical potential of the show
