💸 Do you own any merch of your source?

Oh gosh, I generally like fanart!! I'm more "forgiving" of fanart of my more obscure sources (Kaptein Sabeltann, Mune, etc) because in that scenario all food is good food, but for more well-known sources (Lord of the Rings, the Grinch) I'm a bit more "meh" about it because I can afford to be picky, haha.

As for merch - I own merch for Kaptein Sabeltann! A hat and a flag, a t-shirt, two jackets, a headband, a pen, a pencil case, a blanket, some necklaces... a toy figurine? All of it official. For the Grinch I have a scarf my mother made identical to his/mine, and for Gimli Gloinul (Lord of the Rings) and Mune (Guardian of the Moon) I unfortunately have nothing. It's so expensive to get shipped here!

Hello! I'm Aigoo(s) and it basically means "good grief!" in Korean.

I'm a long-time fan who has seen things back when websites were on Geocities, fanfics were on Fanfiction.net, and fandoms were on LiveJournal.

❓ Do you prefer when people are familiar or unfamiliar with your source when they meet you?

Wow, I've never thought about that! I think I would prefer unfamiliar in most cases, particularly those where I differ a lot from canon (Kaptein Sabeltann, Rick Sanchez) - though in the cases where I am close to canon (Mune, the Grinch, Gimli), I think familiar would also be nice... but it really does depend on what perception the person has of my source, too. So I'll go for unfamiliar.

Without thinking too hard on it, here is what first comes to mind:

Kaptein Sabeltann: the absolute amazing work of Kyrre, the guy who plays me (god I wish I were him)

Rick and Morty: the fact that any timeline you've experienced is canon in the show due to the multiverse

The Grinch (2018): heartwarming moments and good representation of panic attacks

Mune, Guardian of the Moon: the stunning visuals and gorgeous soundtrack. got me feeling at home immediately

Lord of the Rings: the constant message of love and kindness and that goodness will prevail

Dwarrowtober Day 7 - Hairstyle

List of bullet point headcanons for various dwarves and their hairstyles. Images aren't mine, only the moodboard design is.

- Thorin wears his hair like in the films, so mostly loose with a few braids thrown in. It's simplistic and quick, suited to his wandering lifestyle. He keeps his beard short - a rarity among dwarves - for the same reason. The style of his hair virtually never changed from his adulthood to his death.

- Gimli also follows the films, a lot of hair and even more beard. Like Gloin he takes great pride in his beard, and the culture tied to it. Every braid and ornament has a meaning in dwarven culture and to himself, and the process of putting them in is one he takes great pride in. At home he usually had a companion help him put them in, first his parents and later his fellow warriors, in order to speed up time. He would then help with theirs.

- While with the Fellowship, at first he did it alone. While Aragorn had experience with braiding hair, it was all Elven, which has different practises and meanings. The same applied with Legolas and he certainly wasn't going to bother Gandalf about it, while the hobbits were more likely to rip the hair out of his head than help him braid it. So for the short time he was alive, Boromir would help him, given his complete lack of knowledge and easy ability to learn made the process much easier than with the others. He would never have said so, but Gimli enjoyed those sessions more than Boromir would ever know. After his death, another braid went into the beard, done in the fashion of Gondor.

- Narvi,like Gimli, has a lot of hair. But his was more on his head, braided back in the Moria style, with only a short beard. This had to do with his smithing practise, where he thought a beard more effort than it was worth given he need to braid it back every time. But Narvi was proud of his hair, and used it to show off whatever new techniques or crafts he had made recently. He changed it almost weekly, but kept two braids in - one from his wife tied with silk-like iron and the other from Celebrimbor, tied with a Mithril chain of tiny links.

- Given his apparent inability to grow a beard, Kili was always a little embarrassed by his hair. For that reason he never properly learned to style it, keeping the rest of it loose in the more Elvish fashion, which he was mocked for in his youth. Later he would grow to embrace it, and learn to shoot better than virtually any other dwarf of his time in retaliation, reasoning that if he had to look like an elf, he could damn well learn to fight like one.
