So, I convinced a very dear friend of mine to play ace attorney and she's almost finished raise from the ashes, she got to the part of Miles' letter just now and asked me about it
I cried, i didn't tell her why tho, but that was me thinking about JFA, which... yeah, now that i think about it, did Franziska know that her brother wasn't dead?
It's been a good while since i played that, but i don't think they ever specified if she knew
She was in for revenge for him tho
But like, if she didn't knew he was alive, that's a big f*cking yikes, lost her father and brother in less than a year?, damn (we know she at least has another older sibling and a niece, but still that's like half her family)
Just imagine that, also, can we talk about how betrayed she must've felt?, as a matter of a fact she CRIES when talking to him later and i feel like the fandom puts Phoenix's reaction over hers a lot (not to count her reaction in AAI2 too when Miles "abandons" her again)
Which yeah, i get it, Phoenix pulling a legally blonde and then being hurt is interesting, but also, like, family is also a thing? and thanks to AAI we know that they had always been close and having a sibling disappear and sort of fake their death sounds really f*cking painful
Even if she knew Miles was still alive, she saw him so hurt to do something this drastic and not only that, but almost quit being a prosecutor all together (again, very important in their bond)
No wonders she went protective and vengeful sis against Phoenix

Welcome to the Family DPXDC
And yes, he was thankful for that space, honestly, he needed it more than he could even explain. Every time he closed his eyes he saw his parents strapping him down to the operating table. To his sister finding him when she came back for spring break three months later and trying to rip Jack away from Danny’s broken body, only for her to be thrown back. They said that she had hit her head on in just the right spot on the corner of the table. That her death had been painless. Danny had waited, hoping to see his sister come back as a ghost but she never did.
The anger had welled up inside of him, though, enough for him to break out of his bindings and run to Sam’s house for help. From there it had been quick. The Fentons had no proof that Danny was a ghost, Jazz was dead in their lab and Danny had a large vivesection wound held together by pins and needles.
From there it had gone by fast. Bruce Wayne had heard his story and opened his doors to him, an offer that Danny was quick to accept considering his only other option was Vlad and that was a major no for him. Danny had gotten stitched up rather quickly and the Fentons had been taken to trial where they had both been found incompetent by the courts and were sent to some prison for the mentally insane in the midwest. Thank the Ancients it wasn’t Arkham.
But things were starting to settle now. Danny was healed up. They had finally held a funeral for Jazz. And he was set to start school at Gotham Academy with his new little brother, Damian. Things were finally starting to settle.
Things were starting to settle and Danny was finally able to really look at his new family and notice the strange things about them. Honestly, coming from a weird family himself, he was more able to spot the bullshit from others. The first he had noticed was Damian. Apparently he hadn’t ocme to live with the Waynes until he was ten and Bruce had discovered he had a biiological son he had never known about.
Damian was fourteen now and he wasn’t normal, if Danny was going to be honest. Danny knew that the teenager had at least four weapons on him at all times. He had thrown a knife at Danny’s head one of his first nights here when Danny had made a joke that the kid didn’t like. He also struggled to understand common cues and comments, but not in a neurodivergent way. In a way that he had genuinely grown up without ever hearing about those things and it had Danny curious.
The others were strange too. Tim seemed like he had never slept, like he barely operated at all. Duke always looked at Danny like he had seen a ghost and tended to keep his distance more than their other siblings did. Cass looked at him the same way some of Danny’s rogues did, like she was watching his every single move. Jason reeked of death every time Danny saw him. The souls that latched onto him showed that he had taken quite a few lives. And not only that, but everyone in this family smelled and felt like they had all died and come back. He had never met a family so liminal outside of Amity Park.
Even Dick, the most normal of the siblings was liminal. It was throwing Danny for a loop because no one else in Gotham seemed to feel this way. So what were they hiding? Was this why they wanted Danny to join their family? Because like called to like and they knew Danny was something different?
Or was Bruce telling the truth when he had said that he had seen a teenage boy lose everything in a day and decided he couldn’t not help out?
It had been two months now and if he was going to be really honest, Danny was starting to grow bored. No more ghost fights, no more running from the Fentons, hell Bruce had even decided that he was going to go after the GIW and the Anti-Ecto Acts because even though he didn’t know Danny was actually a ghost, he found the acts ghastly and problematic. Danny nearly hugged him when he had said so. But the more bored he got, the more curious he seemed to get as well, he needed to know what was going on with this family.
“It’s not like they would know if I decided to take a look around. I live here,” he murmured to himself, staring at the fire crackling within the fireplace, still chewing on his thumbnail. “All I’m doing is seeing what kind of fruit loop my new dad is. All billionaires hide something and Bruce is definitely hiding something,” he reasoned to himself.
The halfa shook his head, the curiosity was going to drive him absolutely insane if he didn’t go and snoop. He stood from where he laid curled up on the couch and trekked back up to his bedroom. A room that was literally through times the size of his old bedroom.
It was still hard to believe that this was his life now. He carefully locked his bedroom door and felt the familiar rings of light wash over him before he transformed into his ghost form. The sixteen year old smiled at the familiar feel of intangibility wash over him and he slowly sunk through the floor, staying invisible as he went through each room of the house that was not a bedroom, looking through each one carefully to see if anything jumped out at him.
Then he made it to Bruce’s office just as Bruce himself stepped out of a door hidden behind an old grandfather clock and that’s when Danny knew he had caught him. Of course this was too good to be true! Bruce was far too perfect to not have something hidden deep inside.
He flew through the wall and found himself in an elevator and frowned before continuing down, down, down until he found himself in a large cave underneath the cave.
“Holy shit Batman,” he whispered as he started to fly around the stalacites, taking in the Batcomputer, the weird prizes the different vigilantes had one in their countless rogue fights. His eyes widened as he found Tim typing furiously at the Batcomputer, bags deep under his eyes and Danny took a look at what he was working on and held back a gasp.
When Bruce had said he was going to get rid of the GIW and the Anti-Ecto Acts he hadn’t really thought too much of it. It was Bruce Wayne, the playboy extraordinare who cared about all social causes that came across his desk.
But to know that the Bats were investigating it? With the Justice League? Danny’s mind was blown. He watched as Tim fought through the firewalls that Danny, Tucker, and Technus had set up to keep Amity Park a secret from the rest of the world and glanced down at his new older brother before back up at the screen and let out a sigh.
He could at least make their job easier.
He flew into the computer and started to break through each of the firewalls that they had put in place one by one before Tucker and Technus zoomed in on him.
Tucker had become just liminal enough to learn how to go into technology. He gave Danny a disapproving look as Technus stared at all the hard work they had done be ruined by Danny.
“What are you doing in here?” Tucker demanded, his eyes bright green as he stared Danny down.
“Red Robin is trying to get rid of the acts,” Danny said with a small smile. “Let him learn everything he can. I trust the Bats.”
Tucker and Technus scowled.
“Fine, Ghost Boy. Now get out of our territory before you destroy it even more,” Technus said, glaring at Danny over his sunglasses. Danny just grinned and flew out of the computer once more to find Tim dialing a number on his cellphone furiously.
“Babs! I finally got in! I don’t know what happened but all of the firewalls fell and Jesus Christ it’s worse than I thought. The Fentons recorded their experiments on Danny,” he said and Danny shuddered as he looked at the scream, hearing his screams fall on deaf ears. He had Tucker hide all of the video tapes as soon as he could to make sure that no one would see proof that Danny was more than just a human. But if they were going to get rid of the Anti-Ecto Acts then they needed all the proof that they could get that ghosts were sentient creatures.
He flew out of the Batcave quickly and made it back to his room where he turned back into his human form. Now he needed to decide. Did he tell the Waynes that he knew their secret? Or did he leave it alone?
He pursed his lips and fell back onto his bed as he fell into thought about it. Once Tim got through all of the videos, he was going to know that Danny was different, that he wasn’t just a normal human boy. Especially when he would get to the part where they cut Danny’s arm off and it grew back just a few days later.
Right now the ball was in his court, though. He knew that the bats were going to know that he was different, but he didn’t know if they were going to say anything about it. He could play with this. He grinned to himself.
He could have some fun with this.
“Danny! Dinner’s ready!” Duke called through his door and Danny grinned and headed out, already having come up with a plan for how he’s going to fuck with the bats.
He wanted to see how far he could push them until they admitted that they knew his secret and and that they were the bats. He wondered how long his new family could hold out before giving in and saying something.
So with that, Danny opened the door and grinned at Duke, who he now realized was the day time hero signal and explained why he not only kept his distance but looked at Danny like he had a second head most of the time. Now that he thought about it, Duke probably could see his true form and wouldn’t that be fun to mess with.
While Phantom was technically tucked away in Danny’s core, he was visible for those who could see beyond the veil. Duke was someone who could see beyond that veil and if Danny focused just enough he could alter his ghost form without even being in that form.
“Hey, thanks for grabbing me,” Danny said, imagining Phantom with ecto dripping from his eye sockets, his fangs grew longer and longer and his eyes turned pitch black. Phantom was looking like he came straight from a nightmare from what Danny could see in his mind’s eye and he smiled as Duke cringed away from him slightly.
“Of course,” he stammered out nervously. “Are you doing okay?”
Danny grinned, perking up slightly. “Yeah, I’m doing great actually. I’m really excited for school tomorrow. Why do you ask?”
Duke just shook his head and shuddered lightly. “No reason.”
The two continued down to the dinner table and took their seats. Tim trudged in just a few minutes later and his eyes immediately fell onto Danny’s form. His eye twitched slightly as they raced up and down Danny’s body, taking in all of Danny’s limbs and noting that his facial features were all there.
“Are you okay, Tim?” Danny asked with a frown, his lips twisting up slightly.
Tim just stared at him warily and nodded once. “I am, are you? Doing okay, that is?” He asked, nerves apparent in his voice.
Danny just smiled and tilted his head to the side. “Yeah, as far as I can tell I’m okay. It’s funny, Duke was worried about my wellbeing too. It’s really nice, though. I wish I had someone asking if I was okay when my parents had removed my eyes during one of their sessions with me,” he said just as Alfred set a plate before him, the porcelain clattering against the table as he tried to recover from shock.
“You mean like, blindfolded you, right?” Dick asked hesitantly, looking up from his own plate of food and Danny just grinned and shook his head.
“Nope,” he said, popping the P. “I’m pretty sure my da-Jack used a melon baller to remove them, it was very painful and weird experience,” he said with a slight shudder. It was the frist time he had mentioned out loud some of the trauma he had experienced at the hands of the Fentons. And if he was being honest, it felt rather cathartic for him to actually talk about the torutre he had endured. Sure, judging from the horrified expressions of his new family members, it might not be hte most comfortable conversation but for him, it was nice to just say it, out loud.
His parents had tortured him. Had ripped him apart molecule by molecule and his body just forced him to regenerate, the electric ectoplasm that brought him back that fateful day in the portal continued to live inside of him, continued to bring him back from death over and over. It had made him realize that there’s a good chance that he was immortal. That his human half may never actually die.
And that was a terrifying thought.
Danny just happily continued eating his dinner, ignoring the horrified stares all around him. Oh yeah, this was going to be so much fun, he could feel it in his core.
….
It was a few nights later when Danny woke up to his stomach growling at like three in the morning. And of course, that mean he needed to go down to the kitchens and rifle through the refrigerator to find something to eat.
In all honesty, he had a major hankering for some fruit loops. Which led to him digging through the pantry that Alfred kept stocked up on all of Dick’s favorite cereals since he was the one who primarily ate them. He let his eyes glow in the dark as he searched, too lazy to turn on the lights and not particularly wanting to have the light ruin his post sleep glow. He dug around until finally find the box of sugary, fruity goodness and silently cheered to himself. Now he just needed to get some milk and a bowl and he would be a very happy ghost.
Danny allowed the box to float to the kitchen counter before he skipped towards the fridge and hummed. Did he want oatmilk, almond milk, whole milk, ancients there were so many options for milk.
He let out a hiss as the lights flickered on in the kitchen and slowly allowed his head to spin around on his neck to glare at whomever was evil enough to turn on the lights in the middle of the night. An ear piercing scream shook through the manor as Dick scrambled away from Danny and oh what a sight Danny was to see. His hair was bird’s nest on his head, his eyes were glowing bright green and he had twisted his head around his neck one hundred sixty degrees and let out an inhuman hiss.
Dick slammed his back against the wall as Danny allowed his eyes to turn blue once again and his head spun back around to normal just as Bruce and Tim came running into the room.
“What is it?” Danny asked innocently, cocking his head to the side, blinking his eyes owlishly at Dick. The poor vigilante was white as a sheet as he stared at Danny in horror. Bruce looked between his sons curiously.
“Three am cereal?” He asked, the corners of his eyes crinkling slightly as he smiled at Danny. “I think I may make myself a bowl as well. How about you, Dick? Tim?”
“I-I think I’m going to go home to Bludhaven,” Dick stammered out, unable to look at Danny.
“Oh, well I hope you get home safe. Text me when you get home so I know you made it safely,” Bruce said cluelessly as he walked over to start making his own bowl of cereal. Tim gave Danny a wary look before he shook his head.
“I’m heading back to bed,” Tim muttered and Danny smiled to himself as he poured himself a large bowl of cereal.
“How are you doing, Chum? Are you getting settled?” Bruce asked, looking Danny over for a moment. Danny nodded and took a bite.
“You know that I know that you know,” he said simply as he chewed his cereal.
“I do,” Bruce said simply. “It’s pretty entertaining to watch the others.”
Danny swallowed his bite of cereal and grinned. “Glad you think so because this is the most fun I’ve had since you adopted me.”
“It will be good training for the others,” Bruce said as he poured himself a bowl of–
“You have your own brand of cereal!?” Danny exclaimed, looking at the cereal called Batman Crunch.
Bruce smiled. “Unfortunately, I don’t get any of the royalties for it. But it’s cookies and cream flavored,” he said before looking at the milk that Danny had pulled out, and poured some into his bowl. “Oatmilk, good choice.”
“I like the flavor,” he said with a shrug.
“Just so you know, if you ever want to join the nightlife, you’re welcome to it. But from what I understand, you never wanted it in the first place,” he said and Danny nodded his head.
“Too much work. For now, I just want to focus on school. Maybe when I graduate high school I’ll join you guys. But for now, I just want to focus on recovery and graduation. I appreciate all the space you’re giving me,” Danny said softly, stirring his spoon around in his bowl. Bruce just smiled and leaned his arms against the counter as he took a bite of his cereal.
“Of course. And when you’re ready to talk about it, without trying to scare your siblings, we can talk about it,” he said.
“You’re not mad?” Danny asked, glancing up at the older man. “That I didn’t tell you about me being, being dead? Or that I was a hero or how bad the Fentons,” he stopped and shuddered slightly. He couldn’t say the words out loud. It was one thing to joke about them removing body parts, it was easy to call them sessions. But to say out loud how badly he had been tortured? He couldn’t do it.
“Of course I’m not mad, Honey, you went through a very rough and traumatic time. Take all the time you need and we’ll be here for you as you heal and recover. And if any of your brothers or sister give you a hard time, I’ll tell them I was in on it.”
“How’d you know about me?” Danny asked before he took a bite of his fruitloops.
“Phantom disappeared the same time Danny Fenton allegedly ran away. Not to mention just taking one look at Phantom you can see the resemblance.”
“Phantom has blue skin!” Danny argued.
“And the exact same facial structure, Phantom just has a more prominent lichtenburg scar that you also have, just not nearly as noticeable.”
Danny hummed. “Guess they don’t call you the world’s greatest detective for nothin’,” he muttered before he picked up his bowl and started to drink the milk.
Bruce just chuckled and patted Danny’s back once he finished. “Get some sleep, Kiddo,” he said softly. Danny gave him a salute, a milk mustache on his face as he floated up in the air and through the ceilings to get back to his room.
Danny was bored again. He found himself haunting the manor late in the evening. Most of the bats were prepping for their night out on patrol. They were all under the impression that Danny was upstairs doing homework. He soon turned invisible and made his way into the Batcave where he found his siblings gathered around the Batcomputer watching one of the videos of Danny being tortured.
“Danny’s not fully human,” Tim stressed. “I’ve watched his parents remove his limbs and they just grow back in a few hours. Like good as new, no scar or anything! He wasn’t kidding when he said they removed his eyes!” He exclaimed.
Jason let out a hum. “It’s possible that the Fentons did it to him,” he reasoned. “Like their experiments turned him into a meta that let him regenerate.”
“How does that explain the fact that he was able to twist his head a hundred and sixty degrees?” Dick asked, shuddering slightly. “Or the way his eyes glow Lazarus green?”
“Or the monster thats constantly floating behind him,” Duke whispered, looking like he had seen absolute horrors. Danny held back a snort, he still hadn’t even let Duke see his full eldritch horror form. It had been child’s play so far.
“He died in those experiments,” Dick said softly. “You can see him flatlining multiple times. Being killed and brought back so many times probably fucked up his body a lot. It probably did a lot to him.”
Danny hummed, that was a good theory. Wrong but made sense where they were coming from.
Bruce walked forward in his Batman suit and looked at Danny’s siblings. “Regardless of what you think is wrong with Danny, he’s our family and maybe one day he will feel comfortable telling us what happened to him. And if he doesn’t, that’s fine too. But until then, give him space and quit trying to investigate him. We’re trying to get rid of the anti-ecto acts, not investigate Danny,” he said seriously.
Danny smiled to himself and flew back up to his bedroom.
Jason sucked in a breath when he saw Danny asleep on the couch. He didn’t know why he was nervous. Sure, there was something slightly unsettling about Danny but he wasn’t a bad guy. The kid was insanely sweet and funny. He handled his trauma the same way Jason did, with constant jokes about his vivisection the same way Jason joked about his death.
But between the stories from Dick, Tim, and, Duke and watching the videos of what the Fentons had done to his newest littler brother, something about Danny just unnerved him. But Bruce had asked him to wake Danny up so that he can come down for dinner. It was simple, he just had to wake him up. What was the worst that could happen?
He padded over to Danny’s sleeping form and alost immediately realized something majorly wrong with the image in front of him.
Danny wasn’t breathing.
Jason rushed forward, shouting out for help, help from anyone really. He knelt beside Danny’s prone form and pressed his fingers to the pulse point on Danny’s wrist and frowned when he didn’t feel anything. He cursed before moving to start doing chest compressions, desperate to get him to open his eyes and breathe.
Dick and Bruce skidded into the room and ran over just as Danny sucked in a deep breath and opened his eyes.
“What are you doing!? Ow!” Danny shouted, slapping Jason’s hands away from him. “I think you broke my fucking rib,” he whined, rubbing at his side.
“What happened?” Bruce asked, looking between them concerned.
“He wasn’t breathing! He didn’t have a pulse!” Jason spluttered out, pointing at Danny who was frowning and pulling up his shirt to see if he was bruising yet or not. Beside Bruce, Dick let out a squeak, taking in the vivisection scar that still marred Danny’s chest. For some reason, all of Danny’s wounds from getting his body parts removed had healed just fine but the scar from being cut open over and over again stayed with him forever.
Bruce had given him scar cream to see if it would help but Danny had told him it would do nothing to help him.
“Oh yeah, it’s gnarly,” Danny said offhandedly. “The joys of having mad scientists for parents,” he said and sucked his teeth before he dropped his tshirt. “It’ll heal in like thirty minutes. Thanks for trying to save me I guess, but don’t stress, my heart just does that.”
“I thought you were dead!” Jason shouted, running a hand through his hair, utterly distraught.
Danny laughed and stood up, stretching as he did, his back popping a few times with the stretch. “Because I am,” he said simply.
Damian watched as his brother walked down the hall, texting on his phone as if he didn’t have a care in the world. He was not even bothering to raise his head to watch where he was going as he walked and Damian smirked to himself.
The idiot teenager was about to run face first into the wall and it would serve him right to break his nose for not paying attention to his surroundings. His smirk turned into a look of dismay, though, as Daniel walked straight through the wall without ever looking up.
There was something strange going on with his newest big brother and Damian was going to get to the bottom of it. It was clear that his siblings were not unfounded in their theories that Daniel was something other.
Danny grinned as he walked in on his final victim. He had managed to scare each of his siblings so far with his shenanigans and now he was finally going to get Cass. He had been trying to think of ways to throw her off kilter for a while now, but he had finally come to the perfect idea.
His family were gathered in the family room preparing to watch a movie together. Cass was curled up on the couch beside her girlfriend, the two talking quietly to one another. No one had noticed Danny walk in yet, which was rather typical.
He was lighter on his feet than any bat could ever dream. Even in his human form he had a sense of weightlessness to him that could only be attributed to his ghost form. Something that Danny had thought was interesting and also insanely thankful for considering it made it so much easier for him to sneak around when he was still living with the Fentons.
Danny creeped up behind Cass and Steph, a wide smile slowly growing on his face as he leaned down. “Mind if I sit with you two?” he asked, taking joy in the way both girls jumped in surprise, the rest of the family reacting similarly before giving Cass a shocked look of their own.
She turned to stare wide eyed at Danny and silently nodded once, unable to say a word.
“Sweet,” he said before hopping over the back of the couch and settling into the seat beside his sister. He reached over and grabbed a handful of popcorn from Tim’s bowl and looked at the large screen. “What are we watching?”
Danny took his seat at the dining room table for dinner a few nights later and looked around at his siblings. Each one looked to be on edge, sending Danny worried, concerned looks every now and then. Danny had upped the hauntings in the manor, feeling more and more comfortable with changing to his ghost form and giving in to his ghostly behaviors. He had never really been able to do it in Amity, too much of a risk to haunt the house when his family hd weapons to destroy him at every corner.
But in Wayne Manor? He was free to roam the halls, to stare at dark shadows and just do what ghosts were meant to do. Haunt the manor. And the fact that his siblings would catch him every so often and get the life scared out of them was honestly just a nice bonus.
His core had never felt so content in his life. He was finally getting to give in to all of his ghostly behavior and now it was time to make it known to the others that he knew.
“You know,” Danny stated, taking a bite of his oatmeal. “I wasn’t expecting you all to be so chill about the whole dead thing. I thought you all would be more on edge with my weirdness. But considering you all are vigilantes it makes a lot more sense now why you were okay with a dead guy moving in.”
Tim choked on his coffee, drips splattered onto the table. “I’m sorry what?”he wheezed out.
Danny sat up and grinned. “What?” He asked before he took a sip of his chocolate milk. “You’re telling me that you watched all those tapes of my parents having their fun with me and never once realized I was dead? No living human being can endure the things I did and live to tell the tale. I’m dead.”
“But you have a heartbeat, you breathe,” Dick breathed out and Danny looked over at Jason.
“Do I, though?” He asked and Jason swallowed harshly as he remembered the way Danny’s chest didn’t move, how he felt no pulse no matter how hard he checked. “I thought a family of detectives would figure it out pretty quickly.”
Bright rings of light surrounded him for a moment and he showed his ghost form. “I’m Phantom,” he said with a sharp smile. He changed back to his human form and looked over at Bruce. “Bruce had me figured out before he even adopted me. I thought you all knew as well.”
“How did you know about us?” Duke asked.
Danny hummed. “Got bored, decided to explore the manor and imagine my surprise when I found the Batcave in the basement! From there it was easy to put together and I decided well, if I’m going to be living in a family of vigilantes there was no point in me hiding who I was. If anyone was going to accept the half dead kid, it would be you guys.”
“This family just keeps getting weirder and weirder,” Dick mumbled, massaging his temples.
Bruce just smiled. “Danny, did I ever tell you that you have an alien starfish for a brother? His name is Jarro.”
I don’t plan on continuing this. Feel free to add if you want 💚💚

Genuine question bc i always psyche myself out of writing due to this exact fear, how do we differentiate and avoid Shallow Angst when we pursue writing character studies? Situational angst seems straight forward where it's like oh no character got Hurt and now needs to be Comforted (the "plot" seems out to get this dude hurt and everyone centers on said dude with little other exploration), but say we did want to look at canon grief, using Vex as the example; what is the good way and what is the bad way to explore it? When do we go too far into excluding the rest of the story?
So I had conversations with @blorbologist and @essayofthoughts about this very thing, and what it basically boils down to is this: are you looking at these emotions realistically, taking into consideration the massive spectrum of how these characters interact with them and attempting to push past your own limited perspective of how feelings work, or are you just using them as a vessel to convey how you feel about something or what you think should happen?
Because there are plenty of very good fanworks that involve angst! Angst is, in simple terms, the examination of anxiety, dread, and sadness, and that absolutely has a place in the creation of art. Well-written angst attempts to find the character's voice in it all—it considers how they've dealt with emotions like that in canon, it asks what real-life expressions of grief or sorrow make sense for that character to convey based on their personality and past history, and as all good fanworks (and original works) do, it comes from a desire to understand someone who is not like you.
Take the example of Vex:
How would Vex deal with the loss of Vax? Based on what we know about her, I think it's safe to say that yes, she would be leaning a lot on Percy and Trinket, burying herself in her work some days to avoid the worst of it, but there are also days she'd be avoiding Percy, and maybe even Trinket, to go off on her own. I think she'd hold resentment toward the Raven Queen, even as I think she'd also want to keep the shrine standing in Vax's memory and actively push herself to forgive her. It would be complicated even further by her pregnancy, and all of the hormonal imbalances and physical complications that would entail. It would be complicated even further by the fact that she and Syldor canonically attempt to reconcile specifically in the wake of Vax's death; while I doubt they'd see much of each other in the first year or two, I think they would both be making incredibly awkward and loaded overtures that would be emotionally complicated and draining.
There are times she would lash out and times she would be hollow, and there's a lot she probably wouldn't be able to talk about because she just can't, because grief isn't something you can often put into words. There's a lot she'd also laugh and joke and smile about, because coping with loss means letting the wound scab over. There are times she'd be able to connect to Percy and Keyleth over the loss and times she couldn't, because the loss of a loving-but-complicated family and the loss of a lover don't feel quite the same as the loss of a twin who was all you had for over a decade.
There are a lot of ways to convey all that! There's no "right" answer; this is up for interpretation. But I do think "Vex will never braid her hair again cause Vax used to do that!" is definitely a wrong one.
Vex and Vax were codependent, but I think people tend to overstate the degree, and tend to ignore their canonical relationship development and Vex's characterization. I think it's important to note that Vex actually handles being separated from Vax during the Trial of the Take arc much better than Vax handles it; she makes fast friends with Zahra and generally seems to be enjoying herself and having a good time. Vex closes herself off a lot, but I think an underrated part of her speech at Percy's resurrection is how it recontextualizes the titling in Syngorn—he made her a part of something precious to him, and by the end of the campaign her stated goal is "make Whitestone the tits". Vex didn't just like, wind up as a city figurehead by marriage and shrug and decide to make the best of it; she was offered a chance and made it her bitch. The Raven Queen took part of Vex away when she took Vax, not all of her.
Yes, the loss is incredibly tragic and the end of Campaign 1 is bittersweet, but there are ways to portray Vex dealing with it that don't involve the general tenor of "ALRIGHT EVERYONE, DAILY REMINDER TO BE SAD ABOUT VAX". Like, I don't think Vex's first thought when she saw Laudna's body was "she looks just like Vax :( time for my daily Two Minutes Sad". (My issue with that isn't even whether the thought might occur to her—it absolutely could! But after thirty years, I doubt it would have been anywhere near the same level as "this innocent young woman was horribly killed for looking like me and I have to help her however I can; also if Delilah comes back I can should must and will tear her a new asshole". Like, the Vax thing might have come up long in the aftermath of her and Percy's inevitable late-night alcohol-induced therapy railing, but probably not before.)
A lot of the shallow angst you see in fandom generally has the same voice—not necessarily because it's written by the same people (although you do see many of the same people purveying it), but because the trending popular angst has to trend and be popular somehow, and it does so by channeling thoughts and emotional expressions that are broadly approved and accepted by the community, whatever that community happens to be. The characters in these fanworks behave the way that they do regardless of whether or not it makes sense in the narrative because shallow angst isn't about the narrative—it's about making your audience sad in the specific, narrow way that you are sad. It's about projecting yourself and your own emotions and how you would deal with them onto a character instead of trying to really understand someone who's different from you.
In our discussion, Blorb described fanworks in a way that really resonated with me—they're conversations with canon. Good, effective conversations are real attempts to communicate with people, trying to understand where they're coming from and connecting with who they are. Shallow conversations are one or multiple parties only thinking of the other person as a reflection of themselves, getting out their own thoughts and feelings with little interest in trying to figure out who other people actually are. And it's not that I think people who make these kinds of works are ontologically bad; it's that I think they're stifling their own creativity and growth. Everyone deserves better than to be limited to themselves.

pairing: quackity x f!reader (lawyer!quackity x lawyer!reader)
warnings: lawyers!au, enemies to lovers, angst, fluff, hurt/comfort, mentions of quackity real name, this history don't pass in our reality, english is not my firts language.
synopse: you thought you hated Alex. And Alex thought he hated you. What none of you knew was that a particularly difficult case, and some unexpected events during the case, would leave you both living under the same roof and with some unknown feelings being revealed.
word count: 970
masterlist
1. a chilling start
You looked intently at the white roof from the guest room in Alexis' house. The ticking of the clock was the only sound that could divert your mind from the latest events in your life, which, at first, were going from bad to worse.
You couldn't tell your family and friends anything outside of work. You thought they would worry more than they should, but most of the time they were right, and in your opinion, it wasn't necessary because it was close to being over.
Not only that, but you needed to close your eyes and sleep urgently, after all, tomorrow was the last day of your stay at Alex's house, and also the last trial of the case. Yet, why did your heart seem to break every time you thought about leaving him? It scared you to think that you would never again be able to look into his eyes and see that they didn't reflect hate, but rather adoration. He was your biggest enemy, so why these strange feelings?
You could hear him mumbling around the apartment, probably trying to find the case papers he left scattered around the house last night while you guys talked about them. And now that your brain was alerted by the noises outside the room, you wanted more and more to disappear from the universe, not exist and let everything disappear. How would you face him the next morning without feeling embarrassed and saying that you remembered the revealing conversation you two had while you were drunk, and that, in fact, it was actually all a farce?
And then you remembered that it was all the fault of Chris, your boss, and, also, future cupid.
Tumblr media
All this whole problem starts when Chris puts you and Alex on the same case, even knowing that you don't like each other and having heard that you two have had problems since the beginning of college. His wife, who had already seen some of the disagreements between the two of you, said it was just a misunderstanding of feelings that neither of you could bear and even proposed that he do something to help other people in the office have some kind of peace. So, when he received the papers from the Miller brothers, he knew this was the perfect time to bring the two of you together and maybe get the two of you to come to a peace agreement.
"Sir, with all respect, but what kind of joke is that?", you asked Chris as soon as you heard him say about the case that you two would have to work together, anxiously pressing your nails into your palm, leaving a few marks.
“You heard right, miss. I believe that the two of you can do a good defense job together, so the two of you will work together”, he responded, while pushing a blue folder, which contained the various papers with information about the case, on the table further ahead.
Alex looked at you, analyzing your face, trying to find some trace of something that wasn't anger or something like that, but he was caught by your gaze, making him look away and look forward again with a bit of shame. So he took the blue folder, pressed it firmly, and spoke.
“Sir, I think just one of us can do this job alone, after all, you said that in the beginning…”, Alex made a pause before starting speaking again. “But, even though I'm against this idea, I accept working with her in this case”.
You laughed sarcastically at his words. You thought it was funny how he sounded when he said it, and you even considered saying it back, but Chris was starting to get impatient, and you chose to accept that idea, leaving the room shortly after with strong steps.
“Please try not to kill each other”, the boss asked Alex, who was still in the room, and received a nod of confirmation from him, who also immediately left the room.
After that day, the two of you began studying the case in silence during office hours. Your coworkers were afraid that at any moment the two time bombs, Alex and you, could go off and cause a huge mess during the time you spent together. And finally, on a busy day for both of you, before a meeting with the client in the case, John Miller, whom you were both defending, the confusion that was feared at the time began.
And of course, the two of you would have different ideas, everyone expected that, but you both had strong geniuses, and anything different was a reason for discussion. A few minutes before starting the meeting, it seemed that Hurricane Katrina had passed and Chris had to intervene, giving the two of you a huge scolding for your childishness and informality, and you both still seemed to have fire in your eyes even after all the confusion.
As soon as John Miller entered the room, the two of you returned to focus on the case and began the meeting with the client. What you didn't expect was that this was the beginning of a bigger nightmare, and that the little fight between you wasn't the biggest one of all.
After the first trial, which, to be honest, didn't result in any progress in the story, the brothers didn't want to collaborate. The witnesses questioned did not say anything that you had not been informed about, which caused a huge headache when it came to studying other means that could be used in the defense. However, a few days later, something that alarmed everyone involved, not only in the case, but also the other lawyers in the office, located in the place where you lived, warned them that everything was more dangerous than they imagined.
Tumblr media
a/n: hello hello! I hope you enjoyed this first chapter, I promise to update this week with another chapter and another, probably, with gojo.

I'd joke about this interrogation question and how I've written a whole post about her Kazui parallels and how the 0308 parallels are so very real and we have the 020708 + 06 sometimes and that isn't even going into the 0809 parallels and the 050608 family parallels, but also I'd like to take a moment to mention how isolated Amane is actually.
It seems partially self-imposed but even before this she seemed to be the most withdrawn out of all the cast members. Not only does it seem like she was alone before the prison she says herself her upbringing isn't the standard.
Amane: Aren’t we the same? Me and Warden-san. You know, I’m aware that I’m out of the ordinary. That my environment was peculiar, and that everyone [else] is normal.
Amane is so far away from everyone, both physically since in T2 she isn't really willing to talk to anyone. And uh...metaphorically I guess. I don't really know a better word for it.
Amane is so young and the stuff she's experienced is so non-standard I'm not surprised she feels excluded and isolated. Part of a cult's indoctrination process is to isolate it's victims, and the more isolated you are the harder it is to crawl out of it.
Not to mention the ways the other prisoners make her Feel Excluded. Shidou does this often by making her feel Looked Down Upon.
22/10/24 (Shidou’s Birthday)
Amane: ……Kirisaki Shidou. How long do you plan on continuing this foolish behavior? Shidou: I wonder what you might be referring to there. I’m just doing what I need to do. If anything, I’d be happy if you would lend me a hand. Amane: I warned you. I can no longer turn a blind eye to this wickedness taking place right in front of us. You’re bringing ruin unto yourself. Do you understand? Shidou: No, I don’t understand. It’s my job as an adult to teach you that throwing a temper tantrum isn’t going to make everything go your way. If it’s a test of endurance you want, I’m happy to oblige, Amane.
He doesn't Mean to hurt her but it doesn't really change the outcome does it?
Notably the people she talks recently to are the ones that ask her for advice or her opinion. Fuuta has done that multiple times and Yuno did it recently.
23/06/27 (Amane’s Birthday)
Amane: What is it…… Kashiki Yuno. Don’t sit so close to me. Go away. Yuno: Sorry for barging in when you’re getting into your worldview thing. But Mahiru-san’s finally managed to get to sleep. Humour me with some small talk while I take a break. By the way, Amane. Have you ever wished you were never born? I’ve thankfully lived a pretty fun life so far, so haven’t really. But you seem to be struggling with something. So I kinda wondered if you thought like that. Amane: ……I don’t think that. Being born into this world is the first miracle any person experiences, and is something to celebrate. Even if after birth I was put through trial after trial, the value of that will never disappear. Yuno: Hmm. Ok. ……happy birthday, then. It’s good that you were brought into the world, I guess.
It seems like Amane appreciates being listened to and being asked for her opinion, which tracks with things she said in her in the T1 VD.
Amane: I see. Then, are the things that I as a twelve-year-old think irrelevant? Are you going to cast aside the feelings that I know I have in this very moment, purely based on the fact that I have not yet lived for a very long time? Judging these things based on someone’s age will not take you very far. Do I, at age twelve, not have my own will? Does Muu-san, at age 16, have more of a free will than I do? Does Yuno-san, at age 18, have more of a free will? Does Fuuta-san, at age 20, have an entirely free will?
It makes sense to me that she appreciates this, for most of her life it seems her wants and feelings are discarded and considered unimportant.
You might notice this makes Shidou's treatment of her worse. I'm so sorry Shidou but calling her actions a "temper tantrum" was one of the worst things he could of done in this situation. At this point if you get bitten by her it's on you.
(I wonder how much of Amane's hatred of Shidou is because of her cult and how much of it is because of this behavior. Thinking about the 050608 family parallels again...)
Really, no wonder she thinks nobody is like her. The only reason why I can make all these parallels is cause I have access to her magic mind MV and the rest of the material.
Kazui does not know how much Amane lies to protect herself. Amane doesn't know that Mahiru conflates love and pain together. She doesn't even know about Fuuta and Kotoko's crimes for justice! All these people she could relate to and she can't reach out to any of them.
Their so far away from her, it seemed fine in T1 but now the distance is so much bigger now. She's guilty, most of them are innocent, and the ones who are guilty are going through their own pains. Of course nobody is like her, she doesn't know anything about anybody here.

Fixing Larry Butz’s character development
‼️spoilers for Phoenix Wright trilogy ahead‼️
I’m aware that what I’m about to say probably isn’t anything new in the ace attorney fandom but I wanted to give my thoughts on all this anyway. I know both myself and a lot of the people in the fandom fucking hate how Larry was characterised in the 3rd game. I got told by a friend before hand that they completely ruined his character but admittedly I still held out a bit of hope, only to be majorly disappointed. As much as I adore the 3rd game, it does honestly feel like they forgot about everything that made Larry likeable in the first game. So this is basically gonna be me talking about how I personally would have developed his character.
First things first, they should’ve kept his personality and bonds with the other characters the same. While he’s similar and I’m more than happy with Phoenix getting annoyed with Larry, in the 3rd game Larry’s likeable traits are all completely abandoned and what’s left is just a womanising idiot and it feels like Phoenix straight up hates him. Larry can be a bit of an idiot who pursues relationships with women that don’t work out, I’ve got no problem with that as long as he isn’t creepy about it. But let’s not forget this dude interrupted an entire murder trial just to defend his friend he hadn’t talked to in literal years! Larry is loyal as fuck and in the first game Phoenix notes that while he always seems to get into trouble, it’s hardly ever his fault and he just has bad luck. If he was gonna be shown in the third game that should’ve been shown more. I guess it kind of is in some instances but never properly and it’s really disappointing.
Secondly, have him either make an appearance or at least be mentioned in the second game. This pissed me off so much Larry wasn’t so much as mentioned in this game. We obviously talk about Phoenix’s mourning period after “Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses death” but what about Larry? He was childhood friends with Miles too who lost touch and just got him back only to lose him again! Miles, who in school, despite them having their differences, never told anyone about how he suspected Larry of actually stealing his money. That might not sound like a big thing but Larry even notes that if Phoenix hadn’t been the one being accused, he would’ve been. Chances are Larry was accused of stuff all the time as a kid. Considering that, Miles was probably the first person in a long time who didn’t want to get him in trouble. Continuing with this, Phoenix would be the only person Larry knows how knew Miles like he did and would truly know what he’s going through since they both lost that same childhood friend after just getting him back. Phoenix, the only person who’d understand, who spends that entire time refusing to speak about it, to the point he tells Maya to not even say his name. Literally all I want is either a few scenes of Larry trying to talk to Phoenix about it, only for Phoenix to shut him down instantly and then later Larry either also getting mad at Miles on Phoenix’s behalf or trying to calm Phoenix down about his return, and then also getting to see Miles again after he’s back from the dead and them having their reunion. Or, if there truly wasn’t time for any added scenes, just have it be mentioned in passing when Maya tries to talk about it and Phoenix just tells her “I’ve already told Larry and the others to not even say his name”. Just something small like that to show that Larry is also mourning the loss of his childhood friend adds just another layer to his character that I think he deserves and makes the whole thing more interesting in my opinion.
Finally, actually address his issues and insecurities instead of just making it a joke🙄 I feel like they tried to do this somewhat in the third game but honestly it just fell really flat for me. This isn’t me saying that Larry suddenly has to be this really tragic character because I definitely don’t want that. In a series filled with dead loved ones, murder and trauma, I really like that Larry can offer a form of comic relief. But if they’re going to repeatedly acknowledge the fact that he’s super insecure in the third game, at least go into why rather than just saying it🤦. Since first school Larry has been blamed for things to the point that his school had a fucking saying for it. It’s no wonder he feels inadequate in comparison to the other characters and it wouldn’t surprise me if him persuing these relationships with women is a way for him to achieve a form of validation that he was deprived of as a kid. Now obviously the game doesn’t have to go that deep into it and can leave things open to interpretation but I think Larry would have benefited from having a moment of seriousness during one of the cases after he messed up, genuinely asking Phoenix “how can I help? I know I keep messing things up. I have all my life and I want to make it right.” Just a moment of genuine friendship and reassurance between the two of them so it doesn’t seem like Phoenix hates Larry’s very being (seriously they’re supposed to be childhood best friends and they’ve stayed friends all this time but the third game has me asking why that’s the case)
Those are just my thoughts tho and I’m down to hear other’s opinions!

“He Watches Us”(NSFW) Part 1
Idk this is my first fic for Sanji.
Summary: Luffy’s curiousity gets the best of him and Y/N gets the feeling she and her boyfriend are being watched when together.
Reader: Black Fem Chubby Reader x Sanji
Cw: Smut, Luffy (he needs to be a warning trust me), Oral, Being watched without consent, vaginal penetration, a bit of angst I guess?.
You and Sanji have been dating for such a long time now, going very slow in the relationship with you both just having your first kiss 1 month after dating and having to prevent it from being too much of a blood fest you actually had to blindfold him to calm his nerves before doing so.
But he’s grown from that.
Sort of.
None the less you both have had trial and error with the more sensual side of your relationship and since then you both finally feel comfortable enough with each other to have sex.
After being 2 years apart you both have grown and matured (and became more horny) for each other and your sex life became a pretty crucial part of your relationship, especially considering your boyfriend is a pervert and once he finally got a taste and feel on your insides he literally could not stop.
And everybody on the ship knew.
Well not everybody.
“Where’s Sanji I want to see if he can cook this fish Luffy and I caught!” Usopp asked Robin on the Sunny proudly showing the large fish beside his captain with a toothy grin.
“He and Y/N are—-“
“Oh brother again?” Zoro scoffed walking from out of one of the rooms to sit on the deck and take a nap. “Those two are gross.”
“I think it’s kind of cute.” Robin giggled.
“I think it’s annoying.” Nami grumbled , “I love y/n being more confident since she’s been with him, but she could at least be more subtle when she’s around him.” Nami remembering all the times you and Sanji were shoving each other tongues in each others mouth in the kitchen or when you would not so subtly make a joke about Sanji’s dick when you drank too much.
Luffy was always confused as to why some of the crew mates felt the way they did about you and Sanji’s relationship. He didn’t much care for it, relationships wasn’t something in the for front of his mind, he did however support you two and never questioned it.
“What are you guys talking about?” Luffy cuts Nami off her small vent, “Sanji and y/n aren’t bad for each other.”
“I’m not saying they are it’s just….ugh everyday so far they been—“
Zoro clears his throat cutting Nami off not wanting her to finish her statement since Chopper walked in. He nearly was going to stop her anyways because he didn’t want to hear it.
“Nothing , Luffy. Sanji should be done in about….15 minutes.” Nami looked at her wrist and went back to reading.
“As if he could last that long.” Zoro snickered causing Brook to laugh with him. And unfortunately Luffy heard his smart remark.
“What do you mean What are they doing ?“ The question got no answer with everybody awkwardly looking away and avoiding eye contact from their captain just made Luffy more confused.
Nobody in the crew necessarily knew whether or not Luffy understood completely what you and Sanji do when you both are alone let alone sex itself if anybody were to tell him. Everybody just assumes he has the same mentality as Chopper so they steer clear of not saying anything sexual around them both. Whenever he’d ask to join you and Sanji after you dated you wanted to hang out with your boyfriend (privately) Sanji immediately turned him down before dragging you to the bedroom. Yall knew he knew you both were boyfriend and girlfriend but the amount of times he has asked to hang out with you both just to be shot down made everybody assume Luffy didn’t know you both were having sex constantly.
Until tonight.
“S—Sanji! …yessssss right thereeee.” Your raspy voice moaned so softly rubbing Sanji’s hair back as his tongue was swirling lazy circles on your clit. The feeling on his wet lips kissing in between licks drove you mad as you started to grind your hips on his face & that’s what Sanji wanted.
“Good…girl.” He muffled. You could feel his teeth grazing inside you as if he was threatening to bite your clit.
You kinda hoped he did.
The sounds of smacking, sucking, and moaning continued and it began to seep through your door.
“Aaah!” Luffy happily yawned leaving the bathroom. He was exhausted and slowly walked himself to his room for the night.
As he was walking in silence his eyes began to feel heavy wanting him to exhale once more, but his yawn was cut off by a weird sound he heard coming from your room.
“Hm?” He hummed to himself, he decided to follow the noise. He finally got to your door and placed his ear to hear closely when the door slowly creaked open with it going unnoticed between you and Sanji.
“Oh.” Luffy was welcomed to the side view of Sanji pounding your insides with your head so close to hitting the headboard if it weren’t for Sanji noticing and holding it with one hand to prevent that.
This was actually one of the very rare times that Luffy was not only embarrassed, but flustered seeing how you looked under Sanji.
You were the official gunslinger of the crew. Your skills were unmatched (a little under the skill of Shanks’ gunslinger) and in your past you were known for being an assassin so you were anything, but weak. Luffy knew you to be a bit more of a mixture of unhinged, to the point, and not to be messed with demeanor so seeing you with tears filling your eyes practically whining and begging Sanji not to stop was a whole new look for you.
(You ever have one of those dreams about someone that whether it was good or bad you now woke up and seen them differently? Yeah this is the same thing for Luffy but 10x over)
“Ri—right there! Yes! Ah! Yes! Yes!” Your arms were reaching out for any blanket or cover to grip as you felt the tingly and overwhelming sensation of another orgasm hitting the bottom of your stomach. Your arched your back which welcomed Sanji to stop moaning for a second to lower his head and suck on your now sensitive nipples for extra stimulation. His thrusts began to stutter emphasizing the wet sounds of his hip slapping your butt.
“SA—mmmm.” Your last moan was cut into a muffle with Sanji rushing to your face lowering your leg down gently to kiss you sloppily. The hand that was once on the headboard is now wrapped around the back of your head and his other now free hand rubbing soft and teasing light circles on your sensitive, gooey clit. It was so wet and hot between you two the cool feeling of Sanji’s cold fingers touching you made you gasped welcoming his tongue inside your mouth.
Luffy was overwhelmed.
Yeah he’s seen plenty of women naked, but seeing his left hand man and his loyal gunslinger in the bed making such a mess. It now left Luffy actually speechless.
Then it began to click as to why Nami and Zoro said what they said.
Sex! You both have sex a lot!
Luffy felt his face heat up at what he seen and also felt a tightness in his pants. He looked down to see a boner, which nearly scared him because he very rarely gets those! He notices Sanji slowly getting up off of you and out the bed and Luffy sprints off knowing that if he were caught he may get kicked in the face by a naked Sanji.
The next day you guys docked on a small island for a quick store run. Everybody had breakfast which wasn’t out of the ordinary for anybody except Luffy. He usually sits beside you while eating and it’s never an issue, but this morning he couldn’t stop fidgeting next to you. His eyes lingered to your mouth as you ate the delicious pancakes Sanji made. Noticing the syrup that ran down the side of your mouth looking oh so similar to how the drool fell down the side of your mouth as you came last night.
After learning about what you both REALLY do when you are alone, Luffy was feeling a bit awkward being around you and Sanji now and it nearly annoyed him, but he wasn’t sure how to handle it especially of how his body reacted to seeing you both last night.
His immediate thoughts were cut short from hearing some familiar voices.
“Luffy!” You smiled walking towards your Captain holding your pretty boyfriend’s hand. “Where’s Usopp i thought you both were paired off to buy some food?”
“Y/N!” Luffy turned to smile back at his beautiful friend, and right after he pointed his thumb outwards to answer you question he gets a better look at you.
“Oh he um…” Luffy‘s words trailed off slowly after seeing the purple ish red hickie on your exposed chest. It wasn’t completely noticeable since it was peaking from the side of your top, but it didn’t go unnoticed by your captain. “He um…I don’t know I lost him.”
“Well you better find him, Nami said we have to leave in an hour. “ Sanji took an inhale of his cigarette. “Also we found that meat you like so much. I may cook it tonight if you want.”
Luffy immediately smiled and of course agreed to eating some of that delicious meat. He actually began to slowly forget what he was so nervous about after hearing his favorite word.
Meat.
That evening everyone was back on the ship doing their daily routine of either training, reading, or working on the ship. Usually, you sit and chat with Sanji in the kitchen following his every movement with your eyes. It became a thing you did to tease him when you first joined knowing how nervous he was around you, and though he still feels a tint of nerve being around you he actually enjoys you around. You believe those nightly cooking sessions with him are what made you fall for him.
“Open.” Sanji sweetly commanded you as he had some white substance on his fingers. You do as told by lightly gripping his wrist to guide it closer to your mouth and innocently suck on his index and middle finger. Sanji swears to you he only feeds you like that because “it’s a better way to taste it”, but you knew it was really because he loved when you suck on his fingers.
“Oooh that taste like cheese cake!” The creamy sweetness melted on your tongue as you smacked your mouth to get a better taste .
“It’s a cheesecake frosting I made for tonight’s dessert. I know how much you love cheesecake.” Sanji chuckled a little taking a subtle suck to his fingers he pulled out of your mouth. You giggle at him before Sanji leans down to peck your lips.
Mid kiss you felt someone standing to your left. You were always alert to your surroundings by default and with being with the crew for so long you can now tell which crew mate is in the room without having to even look at them.
However last night the only sense you had was Sanji pounding into you.
“Hey Captain. Whatcha doing?” You didn’t have to face Luffy to greet him, you just smirked a bit hearing his footsteps approach you from behind before kissing Sanji’s cheek one last time so he can finish dinner.
“I um…” Luffy scratched the back of his head chuckling to himself contemplating on his next question. ”…Y/N can I sleep in your room tonight?”
TBC…

This started out as a joke, and then it got out of hand. I don't even know if I should consider it a japril drabble, but it was fun to write, so here we go 🤷
___
"What can I get you, Dr. Pierce?"
"Um, tequila, please."
Drinking alone after a breakup seems cliché, but Meredith is busy, with her being fired and on trial and whatnot, and Amelia has her baby drama with Link (not that she would have invited Amelia to a bar in the first place), so her hopes of finding a sympathetic ear to listen to her rant against Jackson freaking Avery are pretty limited.
From her spot at the bar, her gaze skims over the usual Friday crowd at Joe's. Sipping on her drink, she spots some interns and residents playing darts and getting drunk, a few attendings huddled around a table, the starting act of a bachelorette party, and, a few seats away from her, a man drinking by himself, a man looking uncannily like...
"Matthew?"
The man raises his head, and she sees the recognition in his eyes.
"Oh, hi, uh, Maggie," he says, raising his beer in her direction.
He doesn't seem drunk, but well on his way there, so Maggie can't help but ask.
"Are you okay? Where's April?"
Matthew chuckles humorlessly.
"Where's April? Well, probably at home with Harriet. Or saving the world or something."
He sees her confused expression and shakes his head.
"We broke up a few weeks ago. Wow, Avery didn't tell you?"
No, he didn't, but then it's not like Jackson talked a lot about April's husband with her. Or about April. Or Harriet, even. Or his feelings. Or what was going on in his life. In fact, what did they even talk about, during the course of their relationship?
"I'm sorry," she mumbles, taking a seat next to him and ordering another tequila.
"Don't be. Apparently, walking down the aisle with me was as much a mistake as the first time, but it took her longer to realize it this time. Or whatever. Lucky for her, that marriage wasn't even legal, because it was, you know, very last-minute, so she didn't have to get divorced again. Big win for her."
Maggie nods absently, her mind racing. She doesn't want to wonder if the specific timing of both break-ups is suspect, if one stemmed from the other, because she's tired of playing this game and truly wants to put everything behind her. She has nothing against April. After all, it's not her fault that her ex-husband is a massive idiot who can't talk about his feelings until it's too late to salvage anything, and Maggie is too old to play the part of the catty ex-girlfriend pinning everything on another woman.
That doesn't mean she won't stop being mad at Jackson for the foreseeable future, though.
"If it makes you feel better, we broke up too. Jackson and I, I mean."
Matthew looks at her, and whatever reaction she was expecting, him laughing was not it.
"Sorry, I'm sorry. I'm not laughing at you. It's just... Avery's such an idiot. He gets the girl, in this big romantic move, and then what does he do? He divorces her. Leaves her in the dust. And then he gets another girl, and what does he do, again? He lets her go. Idiot," he repeats, shaking his head and taking another sip of his beer.
"He's not an idiot, he's just..." She stops, wondering why she's defending the man all of a sudden, when she's spent the last few weeks being irretrievably angry at him. "No, you're right, he's an idiot. He's..."
"A bastard," supplies Matthew helpfully.
"Exactly! I mean, we were in a car, and he just went and left me. Left me stranded there, and disappeared in the fog. Like who does that?"
"A bastard," Matthew repeats. "Well, at least he didn't leave you in front of, I don't know, 100 of your closest friends and family."
The man has a point, and she would laugh if their situation wasn't so damn pathetic.
"It sucks though. I really liked Hare-Hare."
"Hare-Hare?"
"Yeah, Harriet. She's cute. You know, when she does this little pout when she wants her snacks? She was good with Ruby, too."
Maggie wants to say the same, but in all honesty, she hasn't spent much time with the little girl in the course of her doomed relationship with Jackson, so she can't offer any quality anecdote. Which should tell her that really, their relationship had an expiration date, and that she was too blind to see it.
"They all really did a number on us, uh?"
Matthew snorts and motions for the bartender to get them new drinks, and she gets the feeling that they're both going to need them.

@eventide-roses asked:
I would like to drop in something that has been.....kinda bugging me??? Not really bugging, but idk if you can even make a theory off of it. It's more Xanvid inclined anyway (and ig Teruvid if you squint really hard), but it's something that I found kinda interesting imo
Ask yourself this. How much screentime did David even have before chapter 2? I find it odd (my brother and I joke about him being the "Levi" of chapter 1 - having very little screentime) that he wasn't on screen for.....really most of chapter's 1 daily life, except for when he intervened Teruko and Xander's conversation in the dining hall (where he went on about how there is so much pressure on his shoulders from being looked up to a lot). Keep in mind Teruko knows his optimistic facade is merely an act. Lots of ppl (included myself) think that David only intervened cause he was watching Xander and Teruko, cautious cause one person knew something that they shouldn't have. But that also sounds a little too cautious, wouldn't you say? Sure, as an inspirational speaker, you are expected to be always happy and cheerful, seeing the world through rose tinted glasses. But surely, as a human being, you are also not immune to being sad. His slip up in the introduction just sounded like an introvert to me. Maybe a bit of a bitchy introvert, but not......something worth total contempt from someone. Yet, David is paranoid enough to keep to himself for the majority of chapter 1 and (most likely) just watched Teruko and Xander's interactions carefully. Why would he do this? Obviously he doesn't want anyone else to know about how his facade is just....well, a facade. But it honestly seems like he genuinely values Xander's opinion about him. He doesn't want anything negative to smear Xander's opinion about him. And keep in mind, ever since the killing game was announced, David (most likely) automatically went in his head "Well, it's only a matter before we all die" yet he still desperately tries to keep up his happy go lucky facade, even when he knows he could die the very next day
I found it kinda odd he never really played a big part until after chapter 2, episode 4 where he became the so called 'leader' and started the plan to share secrets again. But wasn't this also after the end of the first trial where he says "I lost hope, I won't bother to keep it up anymore, we are all going to die here" <- paraphrasing rn, don't kill me. And yet he STILL tries to keep up the persona. I remember one blog made a post about how David's plan was actually better than what the cast could've done (sit around the let the motives be revealed or reveal them without permission) which I agree with. But then it backfired and everyone started to gain up on David during the trial. I think the straw that broke the camel's back was when Teruko said David has been faking not only his personality, but also being a good person. Like damn girl, you think he's a bad person just cause you caught him saying a few negative things to himself? It fits with her character of not trusting people, but still. All that was revealed about his 'true true' personality was that he was some mildly bitchy introvert that wanted to sleep in I have no idea where I am going with this, but these are some findings that I thought was interesting enough to share with you (hopefully I'm sending it to the right blog as well). I guess what I'm trying to say is not only does David truly care about Xander, but possibly everyone else in the cast (he probably even had some respect for Teruko, until Xander died, which is a whole other can of worms, but I also think he blames her for Xander's death and her secret he received in chapter 2 only verifies his belief) And (this is also an extremely long stretch but also worth considering) the gag comic that the dev made I think? 2021 ish? Where David received too many letters and he was worried how he would get through all of them? It wasn't even his idea to throw them out, it was Whit's (to which, David even asked him isn't that a little mean?). It shows that David still cares about his fans (again, it's a really big stretch, but still has the character's canon personalities, since the dev themself made it)
first off, thank you for the submission lexi! i hope you don’t mind that i transferred your ask to this blog ^^
Tumblr media
and yeah, i noticed these things too, but in my opinion it may mostly be an indication that david is adamant about maintaining his persona and what the cast expects from him.
(take this with a grain of salt)
despite his (at the very least) pessimistic dialogue at the end of chapter one, i think he tries to consistently keep the “ideal image” that the rest of the cast expects from him as the ultimate inspirational speaker—leading the group, presenting that entire plan (despite likely making it up on the spot), etc—in the beginning of chapter two. similar to what you said, i think it’s a very interesting contradiction to have david act so pessimistic and say that they’re “all certainly going to die here,” and then suddenly find him within the next few days leading the group and doing everything he possibly could to keep his plan going. like i mentioned in this older post, david’s plan was likely better than any of the alternatives—and based on the fact he could potentially convince everyone to follow a separate path from what he outlined in ch2 ep4, it’s likely that he wasn’t actually attempting to “foster the right atmosphere for murder to occur,” like he claimed in episode 11.
so if he was trying to help and prevent another murder despite the (very) limited means to do so—despite him clearly saying how they’re all going to die the chapter before—it might point to the fact that david is pressured by his own reputation to act in a way that is fitting for an inspirational speaker, regardless of all of his slip-ups from earlier. after all, david may have felt that it was wrong to watch all of the discourse happening in ch2 ep4 and not do something about it, especially since he has a career that literally helps other people for a living.
however, this internal(?) pressure could imply that he sets unrealistic expectations on himself to maintain that image—which might explain why, despite his slip-up in the prologue only showing us that he was more pessimistic and lazy than the cast expected, he was paranoid enough to check on xander and teruko. as implied from the MV and all of the secrets that it has, there’s a lot of evidence that points to david not feeling human (the dolls, the albino mouse / arabidopsis / footnote 2)—instead, he thinks of himself as a sort of “model organism” and someone who’s supposed to hold up an ideal for everyone else to follow. if this is true, this may explain why he felt cautious enough to go out of his way and monitor(?) the two people who may know something past his persona/reputation—true, it is only human to feel negative emotions and express them outwardly, but in david’s case he may hold incredibly high expectations for himself as a role model and pretend that he’s immune to those emotions. after all, he doesn’t feel like he’s human.
i also agree on the “he at the very least had an iota of respect for the rest of the cast at one point” part <-paraphrased. no specific evidence for this but i might get to it later
i hope you get what i mean. (-.-;) thank you again for the submission!

that’s your name
[dramione microfic]
"He started calling me Hermione, Harry."
"Well, that is your name."
"I know, it fucking weird, right?" she said, oblivious to Harry's response as she stared across the room at a smiling Draco Malfoy who was discussing quidditch with Ron. Ron Weasley. The same Ron Weasley that Malfoy had loathed since birth.
What on earth was he up to?
"Maybe he decided it was reasonable to call someone he has worked with for three years by their first name?" Harry said slowly.
Hermione scoffed. “Then why didn't he do it before now! Start in 8th year or even the first year we worked together. I've called him "Draco" at least some of the time since before we even graduated.”
"Maybe he's shy?”
"Oh come off it! He's the least shy person we know. He bloody well loves attention." Malfoy was now passing out drinks to Ron, Fred, George and Ginny — all of whom were taking it gratefully before reengaging in conversation. Unbelievable. “Maybe that’s actually an imposter. We should test for polyjuice. Or — do you have any veritaserum that won't be traced back to you?"
Harry sighed as he put his own drink down on the table. "Mione, maybe he's just decided to be nice. Have you considered that?"
"Nope. I'm not buying it. He was already nice enough, but this — “ Hermione pointed across the room to her co-worker as he charmed an entire contingent of the Weasleys. “This is an entire personality transplant and I don't trust it — or like it."
Draco caught her eye and his expression fell a bit as he took in her frown. He swallowed, shakily picked up his smile and turned his attention back to George, just in time for Fred to clap Malfoy on the back jovially — presumably reaching the punchline of a joke.
Hermione narrowed her eyes at the blond wizard. She was going to get to the bottom of this — no matter what it took.
————————————————————
“Oi! Malfoy!”
“Uh, hello Hermione. What can I do for you?”
“Did you leave these sugar quills on my desk?”
“Yeah, I was at Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop over lunch and I know you like them, so —“
“Are you trying to bribe me with candy, Malfoy?”she asked, her eyes laser focused on Malfoy’s expression, gauging and assessing his reactions.
“I wasn’t — you know what, if you don’t want them, I can take them back and see if I can find someone else who would enjoy them.”
Oh.
“I — well if that’s what you’d prefer,” she held the box out to him reluctantly.
Draco looked confused by her hesitation. “Do you actually want to keep them?”
Hermione sighed. “What I want is to know why you are giving them to me.”
“Because I saw them and I know you like them. You don’t have to read anything else into it.”
“Fine I’ll keep this box. But no more. Understood?” She needed to retreat to her office so she could think about the continued baffling behaviour from Malfoy. Draco didn’t leave random gifts in co-worker’s offices. Or buy multiple rounds of beers for Weasleys. It just wasn’t him.
Draco nodded. “What ever you say say, Gr — er, Hermione.”
Alright, that was the last bloody straw. Hermione’s shifted course, shutting Malfoy’s office door closed and turning back to face him. “Why are you calling me Hermione?” she demanded.
“That’s your name.”
“I am aware that it is my name. What I am asking is why did you — Draco Malfoy — just stop yourself from saying ‘Granger’ so you could call me Hermione instead?”
The polite and extremely bland mask he had been wearing for literal days slipped and he threw up his hands in frustration as he shouted at her. “You insisted Theo call you Hermione. Am I not allowed to? Must I go through some other trials before I am granted permission to say it? Or is because Theo was merely the son of a Death Eater, whereas I got the Mark?”
She let out a sigh of relief. “Oh thank God. There you are. I thought we’d lost you. It’s because when you say ‘Hermione’ it feels like a lie. Just like you laughing it up with Ron feels like a lie — the rest of them, sure. You have plenty in common with the twins and Ginny. But Ron — you hate him. And even without historical enmity, there is no way you found him remotely interesting. Why are you chatting him up? Or buying me sugar quills?”
“I was trying to — you know what forget it. It doesn’t matter what I do, apparently. Alright — you win. I’ll stop trying.”
“Trying to do what? Confuse the hell out of me!”
“Trying to make you like me! Fuck, Hermione. Granger. Whatever it is that I’m allowed to call you. I wanted you to like me.”
“I already like you.”
“Like me enough to date me,” he said, his frustration clear.
“Yeah. I got what you meant the first time and allow me to reiterate — I already like you. At least I liked you before you decided to role play as the most boring man alive. What if your stupid plan worked? Were you just planning on pretending to be someone else for the rest of your life?”
“I — sort of.” He ran his hand through his hair, looking at her sheepishly and a bit dazed.
Hermione took a step closer towards him, her voice soft as she gazed into his eyes. “I like it when you call me Granger. Not Theo. Not anybody else. Just you.”
Draco cleared his throat. “I didn’t know that.”
“Well now you do.”
“Um, did you agree to go out with me?”
“Technically you never asked, but I did confirm that I like you enough to say ‘yes’ — so if you are interested you should probably ask.”
“Will you go out with me?”
“Let me check my schedule.”
“Oh for the love of Salazar — Hermione.”
“Do you want to get dinner with me after work, Draco?”
He let out a long-suffering sigh. “Yes Granger, I would.”

Big things were promised this Sunday evening, and now they are delivered upon. Friends, please welcome...our new cat.
...okay so in my defense, I never really anticipated a third. In truth, I never really considered myself much of a pet person to begin with, though with Tatiana it became clear that was more about how my family was with pets growing up than any strict aversion, but two felt like more than enough. Maybe too much, we'd see. A third wasn't even really on the table. We'd joke about getting a friendlier cat who would snuggle with us, but Gia and Coco were supposed to be it.
And then a friend of my wife's had a friend going through a messy divorce, and had a cat she couldn't keep at her new place, who is 15 years old and he would not make it in a shelter. He's old and he'd get sick and they'd put him down, and we all know this. But I am admittedly super nervous. We've made great progress with the girls, and a new cat could completely throw off this dynamic. We didn't want that either, so we made a compromise. If they can't find anyone else to take him, we would. As a backup. We'll do it if you need us, but try not to need us, you know?
And then house viewings started, and she mentioned putting him up with a kitty motel for a day or three during that, and we were like man. Depending on the viewings, that's gonna be cyclic. He's gonna be in and out, and constantly stressed about it, and then the last transition to a new house entirely. So my wife suggested hey. Why don't we offer to take him instead, as a trial run with us? If they really don't get along well, we'd know with plenty of time to find a new home. To which I believe my exact words were "We both know this means we're adopting him right now then, right?" Apparently we did know this, and no one else offered, so...
Meet Bond.
Tumblr media
He is old as hell and pretty chill. Shit himself something fierce on the drive, but took to the cat bed instantly and is much more willing to be around us than the girls right now. We're keeping him in our room exclusively right now, letting the girls catch his scent through the door and acclimate without a territory threat while he makes it his home base. Their room is separate, and ours is the one place they never go. So this felt like a good approach. So far so good. The girls are playing in the living room, and Gia sniffed the door. Bond seems very comfortable and actively protested at us at first about closing the door, so he seems ready to go. Hopefully they acclimate well. All of them have lived with other pets prior, so we're cautiously optimistic.

Some Obey Me! Nightbringer commentary, up to Lesson 10 because I just finished it and I need to yell to the void about it 🥲 and for my own future musings when more content comes out...
I'm still missing some side lessons/hard modes because I need to get higher ranks to unlock them but the main story up to date is done!
Tumblr media
First of all, I love a more chaotic MC. I also love time travel plots a lot, and how this game explores more deeply the relationship between the brothers: I felt they took it a bit more seriously than the og Obey Me! More seriously it's probably not the right word but... better paced? Which I like a lot considering they are still adjusting. I saw most of them struggling with issues I wanted to see in the og game and damn did I get fed. We haven't seen all of them in 10 lessons, but seeing them also worry about each other as they went through different shit was amazing, considering how they "joke" about leaving each other to their demise in the og game lmao. I liked this a lot more.
Also a day or two ago I thought about us still having the Ring of Light while progressing Nightbringer (I even went back to og Obey Me! to catch up... I left it on Lesson 68 and was saving up on rainbow sticks and AP, only for my dumb ass to forget that they have a promo of 0AP going on so I put on the seatbelt, grabbed my 70~ rainbow sticks and plowed through the damn thing up to Lesson 80 while I farmed some grimm in Nightbringer to level up my damn cards and continue the story when I was done. And I found out that yes, we still had the ring with us in the present) and how they would find out we had the thing. And lo and behold, on Lesson 10 Lucifer sees the Ring and flips his shit just like I hoped he would bc it's an important plot point and I was a bit worried they'd forgotten about it lmao. The brothers did see MC use the Ring before on Lesson 9 but Luci wasn't present and MC pulls a "oh they're just similar" and that's it bc they buy it lol I love them.
Tumblr media
Also I thought it was weird none noticed we were human, but Diavolo was onto us on Lesson 8/9. He pulls us aside and outright asks and I was like "THANK GOD" bc SOMEONE between these powerful bastards had to notice eventually. I mean, I know people pointed out in og Obey Me! sometimes they can't tell and perhaps we've been with our demon and angel family too much so they kinda can't tell what we are. So. Yea. Also demons can change their appearance/don't always look like demons, so it made sense. But I still made fun of their radar lol.
And then Diavolo pulls a "you can't stay here as a human, the situation is already dire as it is" and I was like "WAIT NO GO BACK". I legit thought we could fly past it with a task, like the usual trials Diavolo puts MC through, but I underestimated how more serious Nightbringer was compared to og Obey Me! and at some point I legit believed we were going to get our ass kicked out of the Devildom by the end of Season 1 and we'd have to come back for Season 2, just like in the og game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the "Diavolo trial" (lol) I thought it was going to be the Mausoleum job Mammon mentions the moment we get back home, because it fits the usual MO (I had just done all the trials to get into the Student Council in og Obey Me!.....), but when we get there we meet Adam (who posseses poor Mammon) and hello there, YET ANOTHER MYSTERY IN THIS GAME, HOW ARE YOU? GOOD? GREAT! Leaving aside the whole Adam thing because that's a whole other suitcase to unpack another day and I'm not in the mood to revise Biblical history right now to look for Lilith+Eve stuff (and besides he said his beloved was in the Celestial Realm, so it can't be Lilith...... I think.) when he mentioned that a demon who called himself Nightbringer told him a human with the damn Ring of Light would lead him to his beloved in the Celestial Realm I almost flipped my shit. I kept changing my mind about the "unknown person" who sent us back being Barbatos because it could also be a red herring (god knows I've eaten those up way too much so I have Trust Issues with very Obvious Stuff), and past Barbatos didn't recognize us despite being able to see shit everywhere, past-present and future. But if future Barbatos wanted to keep his past self without knowing shit, I suppose he could also do it... So, yeah, I believe it's him, but for what purpose? I think he saw shit going down in the future and the only way to help us/everyone was to send us to the past without us knowing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As an extra: before heading out to the Mausoleum job, MC wrote a goodbye letter for the brothers because of Diavolo kicking us out. When I tell you I got misty eyed xd like, damn. "Lucifer, be nicer to your little brothers." "I always had fun with you, Mammon." "We have to go bookshopping, Satan!" etc etc, it was all so sweet. We have it with us at the moment, but we didn't give it to them at the end Lesson 10 bc Shit Went Down (I'll get there in a second). Also there are little details, like them commenting how the "empty guest room" makes them feel so at ease thay they even caught Lucifer napping in there. Who tf is cutting onions.
Tumblr media
I thought it would be a while until we revealed we're a human to the brothers but Lesson 10 had other plans (very cool Lessons 9 and 10 btw, with Beel's and Belphie's stuff going on and Lucifer trying to face Diavolo for the sake of his little siblings I love this man so much)
Tumblr media
and then, after a Cool Heroic Moment after which we are left out in the open bc we used all of their powers oops, they leave us with this confrontation and A CRIMINAL CLIFFHANGER.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucifer doesn't exactly buy it for some reason because we're too op lol and Belphie is reclutant for obvious reasons. And they end it with this as the final blow:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's it!!! Good luck waiting for the next lesssons bitch. Have fun lol
Oh you think the next stage before the boss battle is going to be the end of this convo? Nope: it's Solomon and Simeon being cryptic. I wonder what Solomon told Simeon. He warned us about Time Paradoxes so I don't think he'd go that far to tell Simeon. Solomon did tell him something though, and we won't know what it is yet......
Tumblr media
I am suffering here. But God Nightbringer gave me a lot of good stuff. I will eat this time travel plot like candy. I feel I'm being spoiled by the game with all the scenes they're giving me and I'm enjoying every second of it. Plus the dynamics, I already talked about the brothers between each other, but there's also new stuff, like Barbatos hating the absolute shit out of Solomon. After Solomon uses his pact on him to save our asses he takes revenge on the Sorcerer lmfao I KEEP WONDERING WHAT DID SOLOMON DO TO HIM TO GET HIM SO PISSED OFF?? But man that was hilarious do it again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus Barb: one of the last things you can say to him in og Obey me! is "I love you" so if he's Nightbringer it's going to be Fun (and I can't WAIT I've grown fond of Barbatos too agh).
Tumblr media
Plus there's the whole Simeon being human issue, but he seems to be faring better at the end of the game. He keeps saying "He (Michael??? Their Father????) probably had a reason to do it" but it won't stop me from kicking some Angel ass ngl. It's gonna be fists out with Michael the moment I see him, I swear.
Plus I want to see the present demons losing their shit with MC disappearing. I bet they're all frantic o(-< and Solomon said he can go back and forth between fuckin dimensions, so he could probably go back and tell them we're okay???? But he hasn't. I think. This is a mess lmao poor MC and demon family. He does say if something happens to us Lucifer will have his head, so..... you can do it, Solomon, I believe in you jdfgsdg
I can now farm side lessons and hard mode at peace for extra scenes, wooo.... o(-< oh and there's new songs in Lesson 10, but only in Lesson 10. The duets/group songs remixes were there and they were a breath of fresh air ;u; I hope they add more.
Time to farm side content in peace and prepare my cards for when they release the next lessons............ whenever it''ll be. Sobs.
Edit: NEXT UP: LOSING MY SHIT ON LESSON 11 LET'S GO BABY

Curious: what are your general thoughts on the mainline Danganronpa games (Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair, Ultra Despair Girls, Killing Harmony)? Like which one’s your favorite/least favorite, etc?
Ooh fun!! I do have lots of thoughts. I guess I’ll do them in order of fave to least fave. Under a readmore because I had too much to say
SDR2 - BRILLIANT, absolute pinnacle. I think the main reason sdr2 works so well is that it understands most players will be returning from THH so it ramps the tension up to 11 right from the get go by revealing that everyone has lost memories straight away. Most of the murders are really cool, trial 5 is the best one in the series, obvz. The island setting is nice too, it’s very different from the first game but not in a way that is too jarring. Oh and the cast is the best I think. Obviously I have issues with Hanamura but they have the sense to kill him straight away so no biggie. My only other character issue is that I really wish they did more with Owari, she’s kind of nothing and that’s sad. Also tragic that Saionji didn’t get her character arc :(( OH AN TSUMIKI NEEDS TO NOT FALL OVER SO MUCH THATS STUPID
Komaeda is there and he is the most interesting and coolest character ever. +100000000 points
UDG: okay okay, controversial for me to put it so high I KNOW. It’s got so so so many problems and yet….it compels me. I love Komaru, she is my favourite protag and I always liked Fukawa, so it’s nice to see her sort of come into her own and get to be a bit of a hero. UM THE MUSIC IS THE BEST. I like when it goes YEAH YEAH YEAH. I also actually really like the setting of Towa city? It’s cool to see the effects the tragedy had on the world as a whole, and it’s fun to explore. Gameplay is messy, but I don’t hate it, I have played much worse.
I had a lot of issues with the warriors of Hope in general and do wish they stuck with the initial plan of having the remnants of despair be the boss fights. Sigggghhhhhh, so upset that it was taken from us. That would have been the COOLEST.
Wish the tickle machine wasn’t in it. Wish the pedophile was dead. Wish Kotoko didn’t fall down so much. Wish Fukawa toned it down with the incest jokes.
I need servant carnally.
THH: THE OG MY BELOVED. I have a lot lot lot of nostalgia for this one, it’s very soft to me, I feel like I grew up in hopes peak lol. For serious though, Hopes peak is a cool af setting, it’s such a weird school and the art direction is absolutely stunning. I mentioned in a previous ask that it’s probably a bit too slow going, but it’s fair because this really was the first game of its kind and they have to tell you how to play it.
The reACT mechanic is funny and useless. I am glad they got rid of it, but it makes me laugh when I see it.
I love all the characters, they are like children to me. I even like Yamada, it’s the truth. I think they majority of characters are more toned down in this game, which is to its benefit I would say. Some characters in later games are a Bit Much.
I also like all the motives! They actually make sense??? And it’s the only game where Monokuma doesn’t cheat with a, “kill before arbitrary time limit or everyone dies” which is the worst motive and I hate it.
The Fujisaki problem is very present, unfortunately. I still don’t think they were meaning to be offensive anyway, but ya know. I’m pretty chill with any interpretation, but I usually consider them a transwoman
V3 : Hm. I do not like. The school is very very big and so easy to get lost in, where the first two games feel very distinct and easily navigable. It’s also not much different than Hope’s Peak, which is a little boring.
I want to punt the Monokubs into a volcano. V3 feels even slower and longer than THH and I blame them. They talk so much and so often and it never progresses anything and UGH.
I’m iffy on way more characters. Like I mentioned before they can be a Bit Much. I’m meaning your Tenkos and Mius. They have One thing, and that’s all they do and are, which is uninteresting and ANNOYING. It feels like so many of them have been boiled down to one trait, even characters I like such as Tsumugi and Himiko are like that, but their trait is less loud so it doesn’t annoy me so much.
Motives are stupid and dumb almost always. Hate them. Fucking necronomicon makes me want to chew glass.
The protag switch is cool. I like it, but I miss Kaede every single day.
The ending I do not like. It would be a whole five more paragraphs for me to explain my issues in full, but it sort of betrays it’s own messaging and renders the rest of the game meaningless (at least in my opinion)
Cospox makes me want to die
The music and UI are very good though!!
This was so so so long. I have more Thoughts, but I will save you from them for Now

CHAPTER 1 : SEVENTH YEAR (SEBASTIAN SALLOW X FEMALE OC)
Masterlist
Spotify Playlist
Click on this sentence to see how Eloy Looks (warning nude body and clothed body ahead, by me)
Synopsis : Eloy, Sebastian and Ominis are students in Hogwarts and entering their seventh year together and none of them actually knows what they got ahead…
1.
Seventh Year
The morning that came, she felt dizzy. Dizzy in reason of what’s happened, a week before getting back to Hogwarts. She had almost nothing to buy, considering how thoughtful her classmates had been the past two years. And, when the time has come, she was already at the train station waiting for the Hogwarts Express. Way more casual than getting attacked by Dragons, she thought.
Tapping her fingers nervously against her luggage, Eloy smiled awkwardly at her brother, the third eldest of her siblings, to reassure him. But he wasn’t stupid. He didn’t catch her lie.
“Sallow and Gaunt ? Again? I thought we were over this, Sissy,” he called.
“Are you ? You finished Hogwarts three years ago, I don’t get why you’re so interested in my studies. Get up your own business, I wouldn’t mind tranquillity a bit further.”
Although that sounded mean, Eloy thought each word she had said. The millions of students in Hogwarts would soon enough speak rapidly to her, than her brother could’ve for the next twelve months. If not more. After all, she didn’t know if she was going to pass an eighth year just to catch on to the little she had missed.
The Train sounded loud sufficiently for her to jump at its noise, the heated steam flying into the station as Eloy was rapidly waving goodbye to her family again. She was used to it by now. And, she openly admitted how done was she, with them. When she sat, she had let her luggage being taken by the service of the train, and all she did was to think about the trial again.
Why did Ominis said the exact words she employed herself ? Why did he switch sides again? Wasn’t so resentful towards Sebastian ? Was she going to see him again ?
Sebastian,
Oh, how exhausted he looked when she glanced at him. How drained were his eyes. His once so expressive orbs that enlightened empathy in her heart. For Anne, even his uncle, and of course him. Shivers went down her spine at the memory of her friends and the moments they had when they were fifth year students.
Her thoughts would eventually lead her to lose track of time, the train stopped, and her body almost smashed against the table. Rapidly brushing her hair presentably, Eloy stood up as she took her stuff before jumping off the transport. The smell of Honeydukes’s gummies, chocolates, and marshmallow comforted her sore heart.
Familiar faces stared at her. Some were judgmental, others reassuring, comforting, and then, there was Ominis who had recognized her footsteps. The sound of her favourite boots she was always wearing. Leathered and laced.
“Denford ? I am sure it’s you,”
“It is… Ominis,” she almost murmured as the voice went extinct.
The man walked further. Hair were parting here and there, falling on his delicate traits. His cheekbones sharpened, and even the slight resemblance of the first sign of a beard, made her smile. Eloy always had thought Gaunt’s features were elegant. Masculine, but with a softness that made him so singular.
Like a terrified animal, the dark-haired walked at the direction of Ominis. The latter stayed still, waiting for her presence, as Eloy then headed her hand towards his sleeve to grab it in comfort.
It’s been so long.
“You changed so much,” she sweetly said.
“I can’t say you did,” he joked.
A light laugh escaped her plumped lips, as her fingers crossed his to head them to her hair, which Ominis caressed to comprehend its length from now-on. A gentle smirk passed on his thin corners. “You gotta tie them up now, don’t you?”
“They are. They just…”
“Yeah, I can tell you had let them grow. I am sure that suits you very well.”
His tone had changed from the dark noise of vengeance to the once soft and tender sound of his voice. Although he admitted he was embarrassed. After all, it wasn’t like he had treated her well at Sebastian’s trial. Even if she was just as much on the edge as he’s been. Ominis regretted. Deeply.
The Slytherin didn’t even know how to act any more.
“I am sorry for what happened at the tr-...”
“Hush, we no further should be about this. It’s over, and it was the best sorting we could’ve had. I just want to take this chance to make things right again, don’t you?”
She smiled.
“Yes, Ominis, I do.”
He stepped ahead, following the sounds of their classmates heading towards the different carriages that were driving right to Hogwarts. “Then, we shall go, don’t we ?”
Answering positively, Eloy followed her friend to their seats. The Ravenclaw then proceeded to tell him about everything that has happened to her. As they arrived, she quickly came to leave the carriage to help Ominis out without having him falling.
Stepping right to the double doors of Hogwarts, right to the Great Hall, they both froze at the sound of vocal cords they once had forgotten.
“Greetings,” welcomed them.
Without her consent, Eloy figure pivoted right to the source of the noise.
He was there.
Tall,
Freckled,
Standing straight,
But most importantly,
Smiling.
Without a warning, Eloy ran to Sebastian and crossed her arms around his neck, encircling his green tuxedo with no flinch. Caught by surprise, Sallow lowered his head to the one that gave him the first warmed contact he ever had since he got arrested. A warmth that would have driven him to tears if he wasn’t publicly shown to all.
Why ?
Because of the heels of Eloy, that went heard across the room in resonance. Ominis stopped, comprehending the now-sobbing Ravenclaw meant who had entered into the gigantic room of Hogwarts.
“Sallow,”
“Gaunt.”
Both men were staring at each other, intensely. As if a silent fight was running, and they were trying to win over each other’s will. One that had no eyesight, but clairvoyance while the other had eyes, but has been blinded. Moreover, by Dark Magic.
But he was at a loss for words.
Was he truly where he should’ve been? Sebastian felt like floating, the presence of Eloy’s arms around his body was enough for him to forget what happened in court. Was it a week or two ago? He forgot.
In an automatism, he wrapped his own to her waist that, he noticed, remained just as thin as he’d known, though her hips got considerably wider through time.
“You’re back…”
The soft tone she employed, sent shivers down his spine. That’s how he proceeded to realize how broken she was, how sad she had been. And, in all honesty, he’s been as well. Behind magical metal bars to keep him straight shut. Torture to make him speak about how he discovered this much about dark magic.
So much, it would've eventually left scars within his body. His very soul.
“I am sorr-...”
“Shh, please don’t,” she whispered, her grip getting tighter, as if she desired burying her head in his torso. “Let’s forget about this. All of this. It’s time to move on, we shall.”
Ominis’s and Sebastian’s lips curved upwards. The blind man walked in their direction, quickly finding his way to his two friends.
“We should sit at our tables. If Weasley or anyone else sees us by now, we’ll get detention. I don’t want my house to lose points while it hasn’t even been given yet.”
Both nodded as they parted. Sebastian felt cold again, just as Eloy did, when the pair went to their seats. Although genuinely happy, they felt freezing at the separation of their figures again. And deep inside, Eloy feared she’s lost him again.
That, this breakfast at Hogwarts, was just a dream.  That she’d wake up and be just as lonely in her bed, that she'd bear the mockeries of her brothers. She nervously shook her head. No, she wouldn’t. She just couldn’t.
“Welcome back to Hogwarts. For some, your seventh year is at its beginning. To others, you are all-new. To those who started a long time ago, you’ll continue to learn magic with us for another year,” started the Transfiguration teacher. “The last two years have been rough on Hogwarts. We fought recklessly to survive and provide us the brightest of futures. Not without help given between one another…”
But Eloy wasn’t listening any further. Instead, she swallowed apples and others fruits that were laying, and she pursued, avoiding the glances of her Ravenclaw classmates.
It was brutal, but deserved. After all, they had come to know she used Dark Magic. Forbidden Curses… And Sebastian noticed again. He noticed how lonely she looked. Because of him. Because of what he’s done. That he dragged her into his dark shenanigans.
All he wanted was to bring her between him and Ominis. So she wouldn’t be alone any more. But he couldn’t.
Foremost, because of how the others looked at him as well. Judgemental, horrified. As if they feared, he’d cast “Adavra Kedavra” in the mere seconds that's passed.
But he wouldn’t.
“From now, your planning will be given to each with a howl. At this moment, you can circulate freely throughout the school. New students shall come see me and the director, to speak about their wands and furnitures they didn’t complete to get yet.”
And it went on until the entirety of the room just got on its legs to get back. A lot hugged, while some avoided each other. She noticed some couples, but what she didn’t feel were the hands of Ominis on her shoulders, followed by Sebastian.
“I cannot see you, but I can feel how anxious you are ‘loy. We’re here, remember ?”
“I…- I know you are, it’s just that-…”
“We know,” admitted Sebastian. “You don’t need to explain, we know. It doesn’t change, we’ll remain by your side.”
The dark-haired smiled. “Promise?”
The Slytherins upped their pinkies as they crossed it between them three. Nonetheless, they got cut off by a throat-clearing sound right behind their positions. “Gaunt, Sallow and Denford ? Right to my class. I need to talk to you three about something for the upcoming year.”

So my dreams were a bit wild last night. Apparently I was considering the "get a free Amazon Prime trial" situation before I fell asleep because my brain created for me both season 2 of "Good Omens" and season 3 of "Picard" despite me knowing nothing about either.
"Good Omens" premise was that one brunch Crowley had accidentally proposed to Aziraphale, who paused a moment before continuing on with the conversation like it hadn't happened. This caused Crowley to decide that, no matter what, he was going to get a "yes" out of the angel, even if he hadn't really intended to propose in the first place. The more frustrated he got, the more elaborate his clothing. My first favourite is a stunning navy off-the-shoulder gown which he wore to go do the grocery shopping, and my second was that he had run out of things to wear or add to his clothes, so he disappears and comes back wearing a gold curtain rail with the dark curtains still on it like a cape behind him. The whole joke, it seems, is that everyone just accepted his outbursts of fashion - except for Aziraphale, who is getting increasingly concerned, and secretly amused. I woke up before the end of the last episode of the "season".
The "Picard" premise was much hazier, and on close inspection the timelines wouldn't have really worked, and contradict known canon. Any which way, there is a settlement under threat, and I remember very little - or there was very little - of it in the dream. What was very much the core was Picard and Crusher. They end up spending a lot of time together, and they reminisce a lot. Photos come out and they're sat with them up on the screen, and there's a picture of a young Beverly with a boy in his mid-to-late teens. He asks her who that is and she quietly says that's her son Johnathon, he passed away not long after that picture. Picard is shocked he never knew about the boy - after all they'd known each other almost their whole lives. Turns out that before she met her future husband, she and Picard had a short but serious relationship for a few years in the academy - they had recently decided to go separate ways when she found out she was pregnant but she didn't want to tell him and ruin his plans, because he would have stayed behind to be with them - or join family ships with them which wouldn’t have given him the same career trajectory - so she quietly had the baby and because of the kind of support Starfleet gave families she was able to raise him and continue training to become a doctor. Of course Picard does the math eventually and asks the important question - was that his son? And it was. He has questions - why did she never say, why did Wes never say he had an older brother? Somehow Johnathon died before Wes was born (see, I said that the timeline doesn't work!) and she never really talked about it, and Jack respected that. She ends up mortally wounded in the fight to protect the settlement, and after a long heart-to-heart that resolves it all, he takes her home to be buried with her son.
Needless to say I don’t feel very rested lmao.

untitled law firm au part 1
this is a thing i’ve started writing scenes from because i have been just. having it on my brain. i’ve decided to set it in the us just to make research easier/draw from my own knowledge. more to come, but probably in the form of disjointed scenes.
------------------------
“Hey - Gary! Hey!”
Maybe Ash should have felt self conscious running down the courthouse hallway. Still, he chased after Gary until he turned, an eyebrow raised. “Do you need something?”
“Just to say hi,” said Ash. “I didn’t know you went to law school, I thought you were doing…some kind of science?”
“Biomedical engineering.”
“Wow.”
Gary shrugged. “I turned out to be pretty good at mock trial. Someone from Chicago was there and told me I should consider it. I’m more surprised to see you here. Weren’t you doing…” He paused. “Wrestling?”
“Judo, actually,” said Ash. “But I pulled my back pretty bad a few years after college, and my girlfriend at the time was a paralegal, so we both took the LSAT and… well, here we are.” He grinned. “How long has it been, anyway? 10 years?”
A bailiff behind them cleared her throat, and they moved off to the side of the hall. It was then Ash noticed the strange expression on Gary’s face. Gary was smiling, but his eyes had the same calculating expression as they had in the courtroom. “Sounds right,” said Gary. “You really don’t strike me as the law type,” he said.
Ash recognized the tone in Gary’s voice. He had heard it years before, targeted at him or whoever else Gary refused to believe was on the same level as him. When they were younger, the disdain and snobbery practically dripped from Gary’s voice, but now, with age and training, it was hidden under what must have been a carefully practiced polite neutrality. “I was pretty good at mock trial too, you know. I led my team in law school.”
“What law school was that?”
What was this, direct? “Duke.”
For a moment, Ash could see he’d caught Gary off guard, and he had to fight a small laugh. Gary appeared to be recalibrating. “So when did you graduate? How long have you been practicing?”
“About a year now.”
“I’ve been in five. Do you want some advice?”
Now, Ash couldn’t help but laugh a little. Advice - maybe Gary would have the tact to frame the barbs as advice, but he braced himself. He couldn’t think of any issues with the hearing that were his fault - he hadn’t chosen the expert, and he hadn’t given Gary much to object on. His suit would certainly come up, though.
“I’m sure you know your witness is a quack, and if you’re only a first-year associate you’re not going to be able to fight the partners on that.” said Gary, “You were gonna lose this one anyway, but you could’ve tried to qualify him better. You can’t be scared of the other party objecting – unless, of course, you don’t know the evidence rules…”
“I know the rules of evidence,” said Ash. He had known what was coming, and he knew what Gary was like. Still, he could feel the blood rising to his face, and one of his hands curled into a fist at his side, his knuckles tense under his skin.
“Mm-hmm.” Gary sounded skeptical. “And you keep staring at the judge like a freak. Did you just take ‘maintain eye contact’ completely literally?” He laughed at his own non-joke. “And please don’t get me started on…” His eyes flicked up and down Ash. “This,” he said, with a vague gesture.
“Knew it,” said Ash. “Okay. What’s wrong with my suit?”
Gary inhaled deeply. “I honestly don’t know where to start. Your tie knot is completely inappropriate, though I suppose I shouldn’t expect you to know how to tie a windsor knot. Clearly you didn’t bother to get it tailored, because your jacket is too small and your pants are too loose - you might as well be wearing sweatpants. At least they match each other, which is more than I can say for your socks - black socks and a navy suit? Really?”
At least Ash could respond to this one. “I-”
“Your shirt’s wrinkled, too.”
“-I care about the law and my client. I don’t see why it’s so important to care about something as superficial as clothes when we’re here to resolve a lawsuit.”
Gary put his hands over his heart. “That’s so sweet,” he said, the disdain clear in his voice. “Maybe you should go do something public interest. Wait, no, they’ll also tell you you have to at least put some effort into looking like a professional if you want a jury to take you seriously. Wake up, Ash, image matters, and it tells the court about you.”
This time, Ash didn’t have any sort of comeback. The only idea he had was to call Gary a snobby piece of shit, but he knew by now that Gary would seize on anything that came across as a personal insult as evidence of Ash’s lack of intelligence. So he met Gary’s eye and nodded. “Thank you,” he said, squeezing his fist to keep his voice from rising into a yell. “I’ll be sure to remember that so I can take you down next time.”
Gary raised an eyebrow. Then, slowly, he broke into a laugh. “Please! If it was anything you could even dream of taking me down on, we’d have already stipulated. You couldn’t do it in a custom Boglioli. You’re not bad for a first-year associate, but we’ll never be on the same level. That’s why I’m not worried about helping you.”
“Helping me,” Ash started, about to point out that Gary’s true purpose was obviously far from altruistic. But Gary was looking at his phone.
“Hey, listen, I gotta get back to the firm. But it was so great to catch up with you! See you at the next hearing!”
Ash felt like he had been hit by a truck, but he stood in silence, staring at Gary’s back as he left down the hallway.
