okay so. skirk thoughts

first of all: as much as her design is still just kind of an ehhh compared to what couldve been, i do think it looks so much better in the actual game. the sfx in her arms and legs in particular helps a Lot imo. still not a massive fan but given i already loved the hair+eyes as well as the general color scheme, im warming up to it. still unfortunate we didnt get something more ambitious but i can live with this lmao

personality wise i actually really love how they went about her? its a little unexpected but skirk really has that abyss autism rizz to her JSJSIDISGFK love it. like this really isnt someone used to any manner of regular human interactions and it shows. i really like how blunt and utterly unfazed she is even when dropping some insane lore bombs bc theyre just peanuts to her. shes just completely unlike any character from any faction weve encountered before and i rly love the energy they gave her

i also found her little ramble about the value of life and death pretty interesting. it almost makes it sound like she considers herself dead in some way? with how she talks about there being no point in holding onto the bonds and remains of dead things and how this personal philosophy of hers is why she never comes to the surface anymore. like huh. whats up with that.

it also really reminds me of how an underappreciated aspect of childes characterization imo is how like. Incredibly insistent he is on staying alive being the most valuable thing? like this comes up Repeatedly in his voicelines. and now we have skirk literally talking about how to live is in itself a blessing. like i am Not buying this being coincidental at all. so unless they physically disprove me in this somehow down the line im taking this as 100% proof that childes high regard for life is Directly imparted to him through skirks teachings. and thats really interesting to think about.

and like. overall im quite happy with this glimpse of her character we have? i have bigger issues with the overall handling of the childe+narwhal+skirk segment of the AQ but those are narrative problems. skirk really stands out as a character and shes just. really fascinating AND funny as fuck in her nonchalance like. what an icon.

the only real unfortunate thing w her appearence specifically i think just has to do with the way her manner of speech and position as a narrator of dubious reliability to an extent is already leading to some. Quite unfortunate misreadings and/or taking the implications of her statements too far at face value. and i just know fandom will latch onto those forever 😭

(& jic i dont mean dubious reliability in the traditional unreliable narrator or like. lying or sth sense. just that her worldview is so alien and foreign to us that it should be taken into careful account before just blindly running off with any particular thing she claims)

like. firstly. the narwhal. ppl really dont seem to be catching onto how skirks perception of it as just a scuffed pet thats a hassle to manage isnt like. actually reflective of what a massive deal of an entity it is (read the boss fight quest item drop lore i am begging. or just wait for me to start narwhalposting JAJSKDK its coming 100%) 💀💀 what it DOES reflect more than anything is what an absolute maniac surtalogi (+ skirk by extension) has to be in order to claim a creature of this magnitude as a PET of all things. its also good to note that skirk herself readily admits both her highly unconventional view on most things AND that her master wont necessarily share any and all information with her - more so what he thinks is pertinent for her to know. her assessment of the narwhal as a nuisance of a task for a disciple isnt really reflective of the ultimate big picture HSJDKDKSK though it is very funny i have to admit.

im just preemptively annoyed and frustrated by it already bc its highkey giving azhdaha all over again where 99% of fandom just dismissed his deeper lore bc they took the storytellers claims of zhongli creating him at complete face value. like to the point hoyo had to literally add a whole segment at the end of the chasm interlude where zhongli more or less directly wink wink nod nods that a career entertainer isnt giving you the most accurate lore on this stuff 😭😭 like please. ive had the tears from among the stars lore fucking HAUNTING me ever since i first read it. its not just a silly pet whale im hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

skirk, who in all the years post ajax' 3 day abyss trip made NO effort to contact or keep up with him whatsoever and stated that her disciple wasnt worth even speaking to in the past has now LITERALLY voiced the intent to assign him the task of being a messenger between herself (possibly even surtalogi) and neuvillette. and she has made it VERY clear that she views the communication between herself and neuvillette (and traveler too) as one between equals?

this isnt her assigning childe some irrelevant side quest to keep him busy but actually utilizing him for a task she takes at least relatively seriously. like wdym she still considers him the exact same as before 😭😭😭😭 like obviously childes far off from being regarded as anywhere near an equal by skirk bc SHES just that insanely powerful but seriously. to me this is as clear an acknowledgement of his growth on her part as we will get JSJSKDKFKSKDKJ

first of all, he'd not be half as smashed up as liz was. he wanted to be cute and whatever, and his goal is. not killing ppl lmao.

so he goes back and gets a discarded unused circus baby faceplate from the bunker. its old and the faceplates dont move well at all (rusty and stuck together, mostly) but its not horrible. its also cracked a bit but. what can you do?

instead of wires and whatever i think hed want something softer to use for hair so i gave him some sort of fucked up string. its thick and fluffy but falling appart :( poor dude he also got other discarded animatronic concepts that william and henry kept in case they wanted to use them elsewhere. evan still has the claw on one hand but the other is an unnecessarily large paw (he cant exactly remember why at this point, but he loves bears so the paw caught his eye)

his outfit is just cloathes he found in the garbage and therefore doesnt fit well. and his torso is just the usual circus baby torso if not a bit fucked up by all the time itd been left in the bunker. its also cracked and rusty similar to his mask

his feet r just whatever he could find, but those wont even be seen a lot bc hes in the vents so who cares

the big paw is also one of the same as what molten freddy dug up to replace the rubber hose esque hands ennard had (not REALLY rubber hose but meant to look the part yk?)

as for evs relationship w cbby, its complicated. he initially wants nothing to do with the animatronic or possessing it, but when he sees liz he suddenly wants to seize control (hence bouncing between circus baby and evan)

at that time, there was still a pretty clear line between evan and cbby, bc of how hed avoided her n shit in a way bc he cant. he cant leave her lmao but he just didnt try to BE her. still while SL takes place the line does blur between him and cbby.

post scoop he finds mike and tells him about elizabeth and for a while michael keeps him seperate from the other animatronics bc yk, having someone he KNEW was his sibling and who KNEW his identity helped him and michael is the most conscious of everyone. and so he once again was aware of who he was but when michael and the funtimes both dumped him they reallty merged and it became unclear who was who (which lead to his memories getting fucked wehn he was rebuilding himself) and just overall hes weird and Not Evan Anymore. especially because evan being rejected by michael compared to circus baby being abandoned by william and the funtimes and that pain of being thrown to the curb causing anger in both that ended with them having such similar ideas and feelings that they might as well be the same entity

as far as interactions go, they really didnt interact much for a VERY long time and when they did it was quick and uncomfortable. but when evan tried to wrestle control back its started a weird silent relationshi

Circus baby did not want to get rid of him, she didnt entirely know what he was ("I still hear her sometimes" yk?) other than shed killed him and sometimes shed say things she didnt think.

evan didnt like how everything was going with elizabeth, so he wanted to subtly steer her elsewhere. however, between his own bitterness at her leaving him alone and inadvertently causing his death, and circus baby and him becoming one, he eventually began leading her to the scooper.

and evan is a lot more convincing than circus baby was.

but maybe reader remembers something shoko likes n picks it up 4 her at the convenience store, bring it back home, and then BAM reader + shoko hang out way more [and reader keeps buying stuff 4 shoko bcuz theyre in LOVEEEE id do anything 4 my lovely wife mi esposa bonita]

MOVING TIME w the help of 3 other ppl [not rlly, satoru just moved already packed boxes around n shouted encouragement at reader + suguru while shoko passed out on readers couch until they had 2 get rid of it since it wouldnt fit in sashisu's apartment] reader didnt mind tho bcuz they got 2 b w their very attractive and silly friends

once they move in finally, so much more of sashisu's dynamic is revealed 2 them [n reader gets slowly integrated in2 it] satosugu r an established couple n do gross couple shit like sloppy make outs IN SHOKOS ROOM . they hang out in there 2 annoy shoko but after she puts more focus on her medical textbook they end up just doing whatever the hell they want ,, shoko doesnt care that much bcuz atp shes used 2 it n reader gets used 2 it pretty fast 2 cuz they would do the same when reader still had an apt [rip readers apt u will b missed]

ANYWAY there is so much tension in that damn apartment its unreal, sometimes the touches w satoru turn awkward in a SNAP, late at night when its just reader n shoko that r awake at the dining table n the conversation lulls n suddenly shokos big brown eyes are the most beautiful things in the world, driving around w suguru 4 groceries n ending up being mistaken as a couple n the idea of what could b just ends up sitting w reader + suguru 4 the rest of the trip AND THEN WHEN UR ALL 2GETHER shoko already also has mildly romantic moments w satosugu separately n together but w reader added in2 the mix ends up w all 4 of u on the couch watching a movie n limbs r everywhere n its warm n its raining outside but ur all inside w blankets n snacks n a shitty movie but ur all w each other so its fine and then suguru makes breakfast the next morning cuz its a sunday n he needs 2 clear out the fridge 2 make room 4 the new weeks groceries

WAIT expanding on breakfast w suguru . waking up around the same time as him n u end up helping w breakfast BUT since suguru is a music nerd 2 ME . 2 ME HE IS . u end up picking out a vinyl from his collection in his room and put something on the record player in the living room [THIS . THIS ALBUM I LOVE IT SO MUCH esp go my son, desert rose, i walk in beauty, reservation blues, sehe nado yodo, n from the eagles bed] so ur both just there swaying in the kitchen n all is good in the world :3

i think the first time reader + satosugu kiss on the lips is when they end up looking 2 long at satosugu kissing, so satoru turns 2 reader n says some cocky shit like 'what ? u want one 2 ?' n in full seriousness reader goes 'yes.' n then satoru gets a goofy ass smile n he grants a singular kiss on the lips n then they both turn 2 suguru whos just sitting there in quiet admiration n then he goes DAMN !! theyre all looking at me . in his head n then he just leans forward n gives a firm press on the lips, holding the back of ur head, n he ends up tasting a lil of ur orange chapstick

AND THEN SHOKOO shoko ,,,,,,, theyre both in readers car, in some random parking lot waiting on take out 2 b ready, n its COLDD but shoko wants 2 smoke so she rolls the window down [a courtesy she gives 2 no one without asking other than u, suguru, satoru, n utahime] but the cold ends up coming in either way so u ask her 2 roll it up n she raises an eyebrow n blows the smoke from her previous inhale in ur general direction, and its like shoko herself crawled in2 ur lungs and nested there once u take a deep breath of the secondhand smoke in. 'are you sure ?' she asks and u nod 'yeah, dont want you to get cold' she gives u a sharp smile n puts out the half burnt cigarette n rolls the window up once shes back in the car. shoko tilts her head the way she does when she knows something you dont want her 2 know, 'now what ?' u look into her big eyes with reverence as the smoke smell lingers around you, 'i dunno, what do you want to do ?' your voice is soft, unsure, but what the two of you have been itching to do for the past few months metaphorically crashes over the car as shoko reaches her hand out to you jaw while you cup the side of her face and pull her into a gentle kiss that COULDVE been more if it werent for your damn phone pinging w a notification abt the food being ready

and then !!!!!! u all slip in2 a happy polycule, there isnt much talking required, except 4 one night at the insistence of suguru + reader bcuz u wanted 2 get boundaries straight n grievances aired n suguru wanted 2 know the general details of what was happening between u all

but after that ? GUESS WHAT . ur all in love <3 BUT . DISASTER STRIKES AGAIN . reader has 2 go the hell HOME . 2 THE USA . [probs not the us, but somewhere out of japan] cuz they ran out of days on their school visa n all 4 of u guys r abt 2 finish ur senior year of college. reader wouldve gotten a work visa, but they couldnt find a job in time

so then reader goes home after a few months of the greatest part of their life, and all 4 of u stand in a circle at the airport n everyones crying bcuz u all gave up on holding back tears after satoru started sobbing in the car on the way 2 the airport

even shoko was crying !! damn . u thought her tear ducts were all dried up from how dry her eyes were from staring at computer screens all day [u told her that 2 her face in the car once a few tears slipped away from her big brown eyes n she giggled a lil . and then started crying harder]

all of u look at each other and u end up getting glomped in2 a group hug that reeks of salt and wetness. and then ur all kissing each other. really ur getting showered w kisses on ALL sides while satoru clings on2 ur side like a big baby. eventually when u HAVE 2 go n get started on bag checks n stuff, ur all sobbing, u say i love u , they say it back, and then ur GONE . not 4ever but 4 a few months ur gone until u get a WORK VISAAA

hi!! i just wanted to let you know that i started reading cherry magic in july last year after seeing the anime announced on toyota-sensei's twitter! i couldn't even rlly translate the announcement myself without the help of google translate LMAO but her illustration of them looked so sweet i had to snoop around. more than half a year later. i am no longer normal and my brain is fully rotted over and i think of those two nearly every waking moment!! your art, along with so many others feeds me and your translations are So Appreciated thank you for doing gods work. i usually don't get super involved in fandom or w/e other than consuming fanart or fics so the fact i find myself actually drawing them is so new to me...idk cherry magic really is so refreshing and it's just nice as an adult to see a mature relationship between two working adults. there are callbacks to childhood or childlike behaviors or interests sprinkled throughout the manga's dialogue and i always appreciated how they weren't seen as embarrassing or immature to embrace or learn from as an adult, but encouraged or seen as a valuable part of balancing work, life, and love. idk it's def one of the more subtle and less expanded upon parts of it but i love how adachi's and kurosawa's love of manga, though seen as a children's activity (from how kurosawa thought people saw it) was actually one of their first mutual hobbies. it's also interesting to see how many things about kurosawa's psyche are remnants of ideas probably for a lack of better wording, were taught to him from an early age. his self-image, how he tries to uphold certain societal standards, etc etc. im glad he found refuge in adachi that way. im sorry for rambling for so long but i've just been thinking about these two so much ldks

Warning: probably a long text w/ a horse cutted by half because it's been years since I watched 2012 TMNT. (Only 3 seasons or 2 I watched but I remember their dynamics, and in willing to watch it again and complete the series)

Well, I remember when watching 2012 the turtles would be indeed having those problems between them and it's something you can see sometimes about how they interact- but yeah as ppl are saying when you see who uses the abuse only looks towards Mikey, but he's not a "UwU baby" no he's not 👤 and Tbh all of the boys have their own flaws and Ahole moments for ig tension for some discussions between them.

Ofc for what I've seen, it does get a lot of road to walk in the series, of their own relationships and problems. I don't think they are abused or abuse each other. Tbh the thing you can say it's:

They miscommunicate, they are immature(for alot of things) but I don't see it as the level of "Omg they're abusers to *insert fan favourite*!!" Because as said, some of the excuses for say that could be then easily putted on the whole ass family. But ya.

Depends on your view. But their siblings demonstration is ofc different from others iteration. Their way is that. I do remember hating on 12 Raph but now I see myself on him. And being distant is something that happens w/ me and my sib. We have points were we joke around but we are distant about our own feelings and things that bother us. And it's a problem because there's fights because of that. And I remember that on some part of their relationships in 2012.

so the question of if they abuse each other is, to me, more of you the viewer deciding how much they care about what they do to each other.

like if mikey doesn't actually mind when raph hits him its probably not abuse, just sibling roughhousing. likewise, if for example, Donnie genuinely hates being made fun of and it makes him feel less able to open up about his feelings, but the others keep doing it anyway cause thats Just What They Do, then that WOULD be abuse to me.

but they all kind of do this cause its a 2012 kids show and emotional constipation is basically the law of the land around those parts.

ive gotta agree that if i wrote about the 2012 gang and abuse, I wouldn't just focus on mikey. mainly because that's not usually the whole story when it comes to abuse. typically if one kid is being abused by all the others, its because they've all been encouraged to in some way by the adult. and if you DONT join in there's a chance you could be the next target. and thats a threat in itself, so even IF Mikey was the only one being abused (which I wouldnt write because that doesn't really align with how i see the 2012 boys) the others would STILL be in a fucked up situation and need to have their own problems addressed.

but i dont see mikey as the punching bag. it seems like they can all be pretty cruel to each other sometimes. and i know its like part of the era the tv show came from but that doesnt stop me from being interested in exploring those dynamics.

hi! my feelings about r//nance is im just not into it, mostly bc i just Dont See it, like i just Don't, but also bc of reasons like ppl making the whole thing so Uncomplicated when it absolutely Would be Complicated as Fuck! and acting like it has any basis in canon, like i do like s//eddie, and ik some ppl do it for s//eddie too, but i personally don't think there's really any real basis for it in canon, i just think they'd be interesting (but that's another topic).

But also lowkey i think one of the main reasons i don't see it w/ r//nance, is that in s3 when nancy & robin interact for the first time, robin has The Biggest masking face ever, idk she just looks like she's autistic masking to hell & back, she looks like how i feel when im trying to be "a real person" all polite and friendly to someone i don't know, trying and hoping i remember all the things to say. idk it just Does Not vibe. lol

also when robin & nancy meet for the first time robin literally says "hi, I'm robin, i work with steve" isn't that at least a little bit of a sign that the first thing that connects them Is Steve, so like, idk, he might be relevant to them as characters??? like, a little, maybe???

i will never understand taking a complex ship and diluting it down, because i love complicated relationships. like, within stranger things, steve, tommy and carol are one of the dynamics i find most interesting! because it’s complex. if you reduced any of those characters down to nothing, they aren’t even those characters anymore. they’re just wearing their faces. and obviously i don’t like r//nance, but if i did, i wouldn’t try to make it something it isn’t just so everyone involved can be perfectly happy.

and i think it’s so weird when they like, fight to the death to try and prove it has a basis in canon. like you said, i like steddie. i don’t think it would ever happen in a million years. one of my guilty pleasure ships in stranger things is steve and kali, which has no chance of happening, but a ship doesn’t have to be close to canon in order for me to enjoy, you know? and i can admit that, though i guess others can’t.

there does seem to be a growing trend where people treat fanon ships as though it’s morally wrong to ship them because they aren’t canon. so i guess maybe r//nancers are over correcting, and sprinting in the opposite direction to try and say that they can ship it, and fighting anyone that doesn’t ship it because they feel like they have to defend it, but it’s just like… people will always have different opinions. about everything, just live and let live. block people whose opinions you hate, block out tags to avoid posts etc.

and yeah, i totally get you, even in s4, robin just looks like she’s trying so hard to appease nancy and nothing is working. it just looks like the most awkward situation in existence.

that is honestly such a good point!! especially considering robin and nancy are in the same year at school, but until robin has a connection to steve, she wasn’t relevant to nancy at all. like, steve really is the glue between those two characters, and any attempt to remove him just doesn’t work

i kinda like theyre putting more abt the plant worshippers. in the manga that cult just seemed to be solely an explanation for wolfwood and livio's upbringing, i remember i desperately wanted worldbuilding, but that was about it... not that i expect too much more here

i kinda wanna say smth abt vash being shown sleeping so much, either its an original performative "im not awake, go talk abt whatever serious thing u want" w one eye open, or maybe its him being exhausted from previous events, or maybe it doesnt mean anything idk (which i'd hate). i'd say wolfwood would absolutely be the one to play dead in a fake way, but idk abt this wolfwood yet.

i guess the cult also being located in july sets up livio/others potentially being there?

roberto being a bit more playful, but hes also setting up the ep's conflict i think so :/ again i cant help but think how does he know this

stampede kind of repeats stuff from the original anime/manga, but doesnt give a reason why. there was a crazy depiction of vash in ep 1, but they never showed any reason for that (while i always disagreed w it in the first place bc his bounty is the key thing causing ppl to wreak havoc trying to get him, i thought originally it was going to be given to him bc he trespassed trying to interact w plants or smth). theres never been a reason shown for him to be called vash the stampede or the humanoid typhoon, it could lead to the revelation of it in this ep, but...

that flashback was kind of weird lmao. i expected more to happen, idk what changed within that short amount of time showing vash and that kid interacting for the kid to go "ok, sure, i'll go back to my village and willingly get sacrificed :)" and its not like vash gave him some out of context advice the kid wrongly misunderstood to interpret as "I should sacrifice myself"

the "if god wont save you, i will" line also felt out of nowhere considering all that happened was vash said his mom sent him to look for him, the kid recognized him as vash the stampede, said he's going to die young bc his sickness, and then seemingly became ok with getting sacrificed before then. i understand theyre giving vash a savior complex (that im not sure was present before..? like obviously hes mr. pacifist, but idk if he ever willingly likened himself to god lol??)

i am not sure why whoever at orange chose this moment to have wolfwood do his classic "goes against vash's wishes and kills someone" moment. i think in the manga he did it first w the samurai guy and it was a moment where he stood down, vash turned his back and walked away, and samurai guy was in the middle of doing his super special anime move, and wolfwood said nope. then the anime i think he did it very late and it was w zazie. there i think it was more too that he shot a kid fjhsdjsksds. but here its like... way too early for that. the manga relatively was, but ww had a full volume w vash at that point, and his pre maximum stuff, here in stampede i think that'd just warrant vash telling him to get away from him. ww has done nothing in stampede to solidify his position with vash, in fact doing, something completely against his wishes would earn his hate i think. it wasnt framed as ww showed up and thought vash was going to die, it wasnt a moment where ww saved vash instead of rollo, it wasnt as urgent as zazie or the samurai guy's actions. frankly, i think if they just flat out stole the anime's "legato forces chapel to attack wolfwood after ww shows mercy" v mogami mp100 minori style, that wouldve been more convincing, but... yeah i dont see why that happened lol

ive already seen the manga and anime, so i forgot again, but i think ww probably just seems like an asshole at this point. the previous ep portraying him as a complete liar is v bad for his character, then w him killing someone vash didnt want dead, that makes it worse. ww being the one to call out vash's conflicting ideologies doesnt work here either bc he doesnt have a role of friend yet, he's just someone who heard vash's story, then tried to tell him he's messed up when ww was the one who shot rollo in his least aggressive state. if i was vash, there's no way i'd listen to some guy i just met thats acting superior

the topic of ww killing whoever (rollo in this case) also is different because wolfwood's excuse isnt out of concern for vash this time. zazie or the samurai were potentially about to kill vash, and wolfwood intervened citing his "its us or them" mentality, which vash argues with bc of his skill in avoiding harming others. ww's recognition of vash's skills also lead to his later point that he cant afford to go about life like that since he is human. but the 90s anime and manga that moment was significant bc it highlighted vash's inherited ideals (at least in the anime if i remember right, im not sure if the manga went as hard abt it) from rem abt people's potential for change. stampede also had meryl call vash a coward instead of wolfwood... which is then used for vash to call out nick's behavior in acting in a way that's not true to himself. so idk all in all, it felt like it repeatedly took moments from the original, but in a way where none of it made sense.

So fun. havent played swarm disaster yet either...... no time...... i have a Lot of stuff to do for school recently. its been like what. 2 weeks. and we already finished the first chapter from history and were gonna have an exam soon. which im Dreading btw bc for some reason i went for extended history in school despite being physically unable to remember dates. but hey at least extended geography is easy [so far]. so fuck it we ball. anyway ah congrats on getting gepard!!! hes pretty overpowered yeah but i want bronya as well [i say barely ever logging into the game]. which is pretty funny bc i already got 3 5* things on standard in star rail while being like 150 pulls in and they were two claras and GEPARDS LIGHTCONE. which i cant even use on march since i run her in clara teams in which i need the taunt on clara. Lol. but whatever. ANYWAY ABOUT THE EVENT uhhh you Might recall that i went to like a. con-adjacent thing last year. its actually just mainly for buying merch but a Lot of people go in cosplays. anyway i went this year as well and got a bunch of prints [of focalors, fischl, signora, silver wolf, kafka, and miku], and some other stuff [charms of himeko starrail, silver wolf, and kafka, as well as bronya honkaiimpact3rd and kafka pins]. and a very cute choker. so YEAH for the sheer amount of stuff i got id say its a very good price but i still feel bad ab spending so much money in one go sjdkgkgjh

i love ritsu a lot but i honestly dont know a lot abt him to feel confident like describing him properly but i'll try my best. so ritsu shares a debilitating illness with rei except his condition has always been much worse and he was pretty isolated when he was younger cuz of it, and really only had his brother and his childhood friend mao. his relationship w/ mao is really smthn i honestly cant think of a word to describe it but basically ritsu is in love with mao, and mao is not, and it kind of causes this unhealthy dynamic with them where ritsu is so attached to mao, and mao isnt. moving on from mao is part of ritsu's arc of beginning to "move into the light" and let himself get closer to knights and open up more. his relationship w/ rei is/was pretty strained because of rei suddenly disappearing out of his life bc of his trips during the war then returning as a complete different and weaker person, as well as rei often overshadowing him n ppl usually referring to ritsu as "rei's brother". ritsu actually gave eichi the info he needed to overthrow rei (which is technically what the original tea club was) thts the extent of what i know 😭. i havent read operetta which goes more in-depth of their dynamic but i will one day probably <3. probably the most heart warming thing abt ritsu is watching him slowly form closer bonds with ppl other then mao and find true happiness in his place as part of knights.. i just like seeing how different checkmate ritsu is compared to requiem ritsu i think. uhmm more fun facts is he makes really good tasting pastries but they always look like shit lol. he loves having ppl spoil him and since hajime is hajime he often indulges ritsu so ritsu favors him a lot i always found their interactions silly. im sorry im blanking on like every ritsu fact i ever knew ever im a fake fan. but yeah ritsu is so very sweet and awesome

Rambling is okay here and so is cursing! You would have to have the patience of a saint to not curse in this hellscape I hate so much to love (I only do this for Jikook, I swear).

I think the reason why Vmin gets pushed to the side is because they're not really a "threat," which is stupid as hell, because if anyone depicts a true sense of what love can look like, it's Vmin. I only wish I had been drawn to Vmin from the start because they're drama-free for the most part. And I think if there was any drama, it never gets quite so hostile. I wouldn't know for sure, but the Vmin fandom seems to be having a fantastic time minding their own business.

But that in itself says a lot, doesn't it? The common denominator is Jungkook, and there's an inherent, unsaid claim to him. He's kind of the reason why there's such an intensity with weirdo Jkkrs and Tkkrs. I'm not pointing fingers and I'm not saying this is a widespread case, but Jimin and Taehyung are convenient modes to self-insert. Fact of the matter is--and anyone can deny this all they want to kingdom come--but we know Jungkook is HOT HOT HOT, and his appearance has A LOT, if not everything, to do with why some Jkkrs and Tkkrs get so stabby about Jungkook looking like he's closer to Jimin or Taehyung.

Have you ever been in or seen a real love triangle play out in real life? That's all primal instincts at work; your animal brain will bare its teeth and not let you think yourself rationally out of it.

Vminkook is the formidable love triangle that never dies, with Jungkook stuck in the middle. I would have to enact a formal study to say anything with certainty, so take this WITH A GRAIN OF SALT (a.k.a. I'm talking out of my ass and I know it), but my hypothesis has always been that Jungkook is the object of everyone's collective affections, and one's preference for Taehyung or Jimin is dependent on how much you see yourself in them/how much you can relate to them. This could also work in reverse where Jungkook is the one you feel the most connection to, and Taehyung or Jimin are the ones that stir up those primal emotions in you.

The only difference between a sane vs. toxic shipper in this case, however, is how far they take it. Some people take things WAY too personally one way or another, which only cements my belief that something more psychological is in effect as opposed to it being purely for entertainment.

So... heh, sorry, got carried away there. But back to your point, the only reason why Vmin gets ignored is because Jungkook isn't involved.

Thoughts on what we've heard and seen of Thor: Love and Thunder so far?

honestly i'm just very [long continued sigh] about it. infinity war, but especially endgame, fucked thor's character and franchise over so extremely much that i'm not sure it's possible to truly recover. thor's entire trilogy was about how he needed to become a good man to be king, then accepting that being a good man meant being a good leader to his people BUT THEN HE JUST GIVES UP LEADERSHIP IN ENDGAME TO JUST FUCK AROUND THE GALAXY??? are we just going to do the iron man thing where thor learns the same lesson every go around and forgets it again in the team ups bc..... yawn. i thought maybe they might try to fix what the russos did to New Asgard in L&T but then i saw set photos of it turned into like a disneyland knock off so i'm like haha yeah let's just turn the displacement and genocide of an entire people into more of a joke why not at this point??? they're only the most advanced civilisation in the universe.

the loki show proved that thor and loki are now separate properties that most likely won't interact in a major way ever again (bc money and content >>> story and characterisation integrity) so i'm even less excited about either of their solo outings as their relationship was my main investment in both of them. so, thor is completely without family and is trying to become a guardian for some reason and loki is off trying to fuck his female self who is as interesting as a loaf of bread, what a wonderful development for these characters.

taika waititi's been annoying me a lot lately (midlife crisis aside, did anyone see him in freeguy?? god LORD) and i think he's high off his own kool aid so i'm hesitant about how un-irritating the humour and his overestimating how funny korg is will play in L&T. i dont want the only message they take for ragnarok to be "it was funny that was why ppl liked it." no, it was great bc it balanced the humour well w/ the heavier, nuanced stuff. also the girlboss-ing of jane and valkyrie is making me nervous; jane was a dorky scientist who loved being a dorky scientist, is thor!jane just going to be Strong Female Character no. 37 or will that character still remain but just be ripped? and val was a traumatised, drunkard who literally sold ppl to slavery bc she didn't give a shit about anyone or anything anymore (and who HATED the monarchy), will she just be girlboss snarky lady who now is an amazing king (and why king not queen, words have meanings???) bc its illegal for female characters to be too flawed in the mcu???

but the thing that keeping me invested to some extent is my man christian bale being the villain. i love this man, i will die on any hill for this man, i will watch truly terrible films for this strange man (if he looks hot). if they somehow tempted bale out of his oscar bait cave to do another comic book film and he's NOT playing some sort of jesus type figure then this shit must be good, or that cheque was really, really nice. hela is my favourite mcu villain besides loki so they're 2/3 for great villains in these films, let's hope we get another banger. plus the god-butcher is just a sexy concept.

omg thank you so much!! i loved writing that fic and i actually have another one i'm slowly working on that i hope to upload eventually ^^ and don't even get me STARTED on how much i love the fic that tayani wrote, it makes me go insane just thinking about it dkfhdg BUT YEA...there's not many fics that really take a look at the relationship between akira and yal which of course is fine! people write what they love, and unfortunately yal just isn't the most popular character. i do also think there is a definite glossing over of the bond he and akira forged in-game, but it likely is due to the fact that the game ITSELF glosses over it almost entirely 😭 it's such an absolute shame since there was so much potential left on the table, but the game's near immediate dismissal of their confidant certainly led to a lot of the fanbase writing him off as another god-villain in persona despite his unique position in relation to the protagonist. so honestly i think that's why my aus often focus so heavily on yaldabaoth's involvement and character - i gotta make my own food!! as much as i love the thieves and of course most of my aus are shuake, yaldabaoth and akira get the spotlight since they're both my favorites and bc i think i just. genuinely want to see more content involving yaldabaoth and how he interacts with others. SO it's a pretty niche market, but i'm so happy other ppl are enjoying that content too (and it's even changed some minds about yal aaaaaaa!!)

ooooh i like this too! i have thought about how it's likely the angels would attempt to persuade akira to rejoin them, but it would be interesting for him to sort of feel...an opposing pull inside of him as they get closer and closer to the shrine. like with each angel that's defeated he can feel something shift in his heart, yet as he closes in on the shrine, yaldabaoth's presence becomes increasingly oppressive - ultimately, he has no idea what he might do when the last angel falls. his heart i think at that point is vulnerable, at least by his measure - with each passing angel, he knows more and more he's feeling a freedom he's forgotten...but without knowing how to manage it properly, he knows it could easily fall under yaldabaoth's control again. that feeling could really be what makes his decision for him though, as he knows he needs to feel his freedom and totally own it if he ever wants a chance at his life again. and the only way he can do that is to see how it stands now against yaldabaoth.
