Goodbyes ~ Heidi Volturi One-Shot
Tumblr media
A/N ~ Please excuse any formatting or grammar issues, as I am on mobile! Also. It seems like every writer has a different idea of the best face claim for Heidi. So with that I will leave her features up to your interpretation. This was something new for me to write so if you had any feedback I would love to hear it! Thank you for reading.
Summary ~ A small moment and first kiss between Heidi and her mate.
~~~
Your time with the Volturi had overall been very short, compared to the length of its other members. Many of which, were very welcoming and sympathetic to the death of your creator. Who happened to be the reason you stumbled into the ancient vampire coven.
Many have said to to be a blessing and a curse.
Watching your mother figure dismembered and burned in front of your eyes was absolutely traumatic. But it lead to you another new immoral life and family. A doubled edged sword, some would say. Either way you learned a very important lesson that day.
The Volturi Do Not Give Second Chances.
It is and forever will be a sentence that floats around in your mind. It does even now as you are walking back to the private room you now call your own.
Heidi, one of the most beautiful creatures you’ve met, trailed along beside you with her arm looped around yours. Her stories of the world, and upcoming fishing trip filled your ears and echoed down the never ending halls.
You had hardly talked since your creator died. But Heidi didn’t mind talking enough for the both of you. Or taking the lead in conversations others have tried to start.
Heidi had lost her original coven in a very similar fashion to yourself. So it made since for her to comfort you, and try to be the rock to keep you grounded. When she was here and not out fishing, she never left your side. Which is something you would be forever grateful for.
Every other member had introduced themselves and offered advice and companionship. But Heidi was something special. A comforting presence. A missing puzzle piece you never knew you were missing.
As the both of you approached your room, a small hint of sadness began pooling in your chest. Heidi was about to embark on another fishing trip. Or as you joked one time a pizza delivery run. While it was very necessary to keep the coven fed, nothing could make you want to leave her side.
Standing at the door there was a moment of silence. You couldn’t help but to widen your smile as your eyes met Heidi’s. They were a dark red, with a small mix of a lighter red around her irises. Quite often there was a shimmer in them, especially when you were around. Her eyelashes were dark, full, and curled at a perfect angle. Vampires do not need to blink, but Heidi never missed a moment to bat them in any situation.
But not this time. The prolonged eye contact was almost like a silent conversation, a final moment before goodbye.
Parting ways with anyone had become difficult since your creator had passed. Heidi seemed to take pieces of you with her every trip and every mission that required her out of the castle. You wouldn’t be whole again until she was home.
It was you who broke the eye contact first. Slipping your arm out from under hers, only to wrap both of them around her shoulders.
While you had hugged her many times, this time you couldn’t help but nuzzle your head into the crook of her neck. Her scent seemed to be the most strongest here. You took slow breaths into her, savoring her closeness and her unique smell. Who knows how long it she would be gone for this time?
You wondered if Heidi was having similar thoughts at this moment. It seemed so with her actions. She was holding you by the waist, lightly rubbing small circles where her hands rested. Her cheek rested against the top of your head, taking slow deep breaths just as you are.
“Goodbyes are never easy darling, especially with us.” Heidi whispered. Her voice and the proximity of her would have made you dizzy if you were still human. As gently as she could, her slim hands traveled up your arms to cup your face. Then you were lost in her eyes again. Her thumbs brushed lovingly against your cheeks as she pressed your foreheads together.
“Just remember the hello again makes it all worth it.” Heidi finished with a dazzling smile.
You could see the longing in her eyes, past the strong facade she was putting on for you. A small sigh escaped your lips. You both had been dancing around the feelings that had been there since you two had met. Moments like these intensified them.
Taking a risk, you placed your cool hands on top of hers. This much affection had been new, while hugs and hand holding were as far as you both had gone. This closeness was so new. And you didn’t want to overstep, or even make Heidi uncomfortable with your actions.
But Heidi was taking risks too. Closing her eyes, she leaned into to you.
Closer.
And Closer.
Your eyes closed a second before your lips finally met. There were no words to describe the first kiss between you. Heidi’s lips were full and soft against yours. A million times better than you’ve imagined many nights alone in your room. But this was real. This reality will forever best anything you could come up with in your head.
Heidi had to leave after that first kiss. Several more followed in-between her good byes and promises to talk when she arrived home.
You both couldn’t wait for that ‘Hello Again.’.
I loved your Demetri fanfic! it was so bittersweet and well-written.
your bio says your requests are open? could I perhaps request one for Felix? feel free to let your creative juices flow, but something sweet and fluffy between him and his fem!mate?
Thanks lovely! x
Respectful Humming (Felix x fem!Reader)
The reader's appearance is not specified. She is shorter than Felix, though.
A/N: I let my creative juices 😉 flow for this one. Thanks a lot for this wonderful request. I hope you enjoy it, dear Anonymous. Still, I want to emphasize that I do not write sexual content about characters who are underage. I received a few requests for stuff like that, and I must say that I do not feel comfortable with writing those fics.
“That was a rather tedious trial,” Demetri remarked, carrying himself elegantly through the halls of the Volturi’s castle and putting any décor to shame. He was the most ornate décor to have ever existed anyway. The halls and rooms were lucky to have him. He was a statue created by Michelangelo.
“Indeed,” Felix replied, treading softly on the stone floor. Despite his gigantic size, he appeared to be levitating.
“I cannot quite fathom why Aro prolonged the trial unnecessarily.” Demetri turned right, heading toward the library.
“He was in a particularly bad mood today,” Felix explained monotonously. “You know how he can be. It has happened before. He really wanted to see that poor excuse of a vampire suffer.”
Demetri shrugged nonchalantly. “It shall not concern me.” As he and Felix entered the library, he added, “At least Jane and Alec got their fun out of it.”
“Exactly.” Felix's eyes scanned the bookshelves and sitting areas worriedly for your form. You had promised you would be here to await him after the end of the trial. But you were nowhere in sight. “The twins are satisfied for now, and they are unlikely to cause mayhem. Although that is never a guarantee.”
Feeling a heavy weight on his chest, Felix stopped in his track. Standing in the middle of the library, he crossed his arms and used his sensitive ears to locate you. However, neither your heartbeat nor the even sound of your breath seemed to be dwelling in the castle. That was bad. Panic seized him. The world of vampires was wicked and cruel. Had a newborn taken you? Or worse, had one of his ancient enemies broken inside the castle and humannapped you?  For vampires, the worst possible punishment was to lose a mate.
A mate for a mate.
Keeping his composure, Felix looked at Demetri, who had sat down at a chess board opposite Heidi. They were flirting ferociously, and although they had been doing this for centuries, they always found new hollow phrases and sweet compliments to charm each other. Their friendship was real, but everyone knew where the two of them would end up. It was the reason why some wished for soundproof rooms. However, the Kings were against such an installment because to run the coven smoothly, their senses needed to have access everywhere at any given time. Traitors, raging newborns, enemies… None of them could have the opportunity to hurt the Volturi’s integrity.
“So, if I win, how about the whole night this time?” Demetri organized the chess pieces.
“First, honey, you have to win. Last time I beat you. And how about you start to become more creative. We have done that so many times already.” Heidi giggled sensually. Her flirting was always of the dominant kind. She never behaved submissively. Tilting her head to expose her neck was something she would never do. You had to accept her as the strong woman she was.
“Hey, Demetri,” Felix called out. “Do you know where (Y/N) is?”
The vampire shrugged. Clearly, he was uninterested. “I don’t know. If she is not here, she is somewhere else.” A cloud fell over the tracker’s face. “It is a pity that I cannot sense her tenor. But her immunity to gifts is the reason why Aro allowed you to keep her in the first place.”
A deep growl rumbled through Felix's chest. Demetri ignored his obvious anger, and the giant walked out of the room, seething. He hated the way Demetri and the others talked about you. Like you were a pet only kept for his amusement. Admittedly, vampires mainly see humans as food, and thus, it is most difficult to establish respectful relationships between humans and vampires. Still, Felix would not allow the others to look down on you. At least not in your presence. He ignored slighting remarks when you were not in the same room, knowing that those would be uttered behind his back anyway.
Anxiously, Felix hurried out of the castle. It was a cloudy day, and the sun was already setting. He didn’t need his cloak. After wandering around for a while and searching for your familiar heartbeat, he found you sitting on a low wall, overlooking the fields and trees expanding in the distance.
Relieved, Felix sighed. He felt like he was reborn into a human, only to be turned into a vampire again. He was so glad to see you were alright. He came to stand behind you and embraced you lovingly. Unperturbed, you continued to hum softly, dangling your legs in the air.
“I thought you wanted to meet in the library,” Felix whispered against the shell of your ear. He had to lean down to accomplish this feat of affection since you were shorter than him. Your head, although you were sitting on a raised wall, did not even reach his chin.
 “I thought so, too. I had been in the library. But Chelsea and Renata came in, and they were not so kind.”
“What did they do? Did they say something hurtful?” Felix placed soft kisses on your head.
You shook your head. “That is between me and them. I won’t tell you. Also, as I have mentioned before, I can solve my own conflicts. If I want the others to respect me, I cannot let you fight my battles for me. Otherwise, they will not take me seriously.”
Oh, strong, cute you…
Felix picked you up bridal-style, turned you around, and sat you back down. Now you were facing him. His big hands caressed your shoulders. “I know. You have told me that a lot. More than you should have to.” He was obnoxiously protective of you. So much so that at the beginning of your life in Volterra, he tried to shelter you from the others, seeking out confrontations to solve your arguments. For him, this was not about protecting your pride or dignity or anything. Just that he could not allow others to pick a fight with you. However, it quickly turned out that you were the real menace. You did not back down from any conflicts, and if you were facing heavy provocations, you would unleash witty remarks of your own.
“By the way,” Felix began, “I love that you are not frightened anymore when I approach you.”
You laughed amusedly. “Right, if you had hugged me from behind two months ago, I would have jumped.” A cheeky grin was plastered on your face. You got up, standing on the wall. Felix grabbed you by your hips to stabilize you. Emotionally and physically, he gave you equanimity and equilibrium. “Look. I am taller than you are now.”
“Barely. I am not sure that counts.”
“Yes, it does. Even if it’s only a centimeter, Felix.” You rolled your eyes playfully. Then, your gaze became serious. “I was really afraid of you until we reached a certain level of trust. Now, it is like I can almost feel when you are around. I do not need to see you to have that feeling. A special kind of security shrouds my body and mind when you are near. Just now, as I was humming to myself, I felt that you were close and searching for me.”
Hmm… Was that an early manifestation of your gift? “You are wonderful. Do you know that?” Felix pulled you in by your waist.
“Of course, I do. You tell me every day.” With a big smile on your face, it was you this time who leant down to kiss him.
Alec Volturi x human!Reader: Anniversary Quilt
Warnings: little bit of angst, mostly fluff, non-canon aged Alec, sfw, use of y/n
I walked down the hall of the castle, heading for the library. I had finished the small stack of books in my room and wanted to return them to get some more. As I walked, I noticed Felix and Demetri headed my way. I waved at them and rushed over.
"Hey, guys. What are you doing?"
"We just got done giving our report to the Masters. Now, we have some free time until the next mission," Felix answered.
"What about you?" Demetri asked.
"I need some more books. I finished these ones already," I gestured to the stack in my hand.
"Wow, you go through books fast. Honestly, I'm surprised you haven't read everything in the library in the year you've been here." Demetri commented.
"Hey, to be fair, some of those books are in other languages," I defended myself. I paused as I processed his last words. "Wait, it's been a year already?"
Felix nodded. "Yeah, in two weeks if you want to be technical."
I shoved my books into Felix's hands. "Will you return these for me? I've got something I need to do!" I asked, turning on my heel and running to Heidi's room.
:
I dodged through the guards as I turned down the hall where Heidi's room was. Skidding to a stop in front of her door, I repeatedly banged on it. "Hurry up, hurry up!"
Finally Heidi opened her door, a confused look on her face. "Are you alright, (Y/N)?"
I shook my head. "I need your help and I need it now," I begged.
Heidi nodded and ushered me into her room. "Are you going to tell me what's going on?"
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. "In two weeks, I'll have been with you guys for a year. In two weeks, it'll have been a year since Alec and I found out we are mates. I want to do something special for him."
Heidi grinned. "So what do you need me to do?"
"I need you to help me sneak out of the castle so I can go shopping. I already have an idea in mind of what I want to do but first I need fabric. And quilt batting. And a sewing machine." I looked at Heidi. "Do we even have a sewing machine here?"
"Talk to Caius. He's the more artistic of the three. As for getting you out of the castle, that's going to be hard. You're still human so the Kings won't want to let you leave. Why don't you write me a list of the fabric and anything else you need and I'll grab it."
"Thank you, Heidi! I want this to be a surprise for Alec so please don't tell him."
"I promise I won't tell. Go write me your list and I'll try and get it while you talk to Caius."
I nodded and went to leave Heidi's room. "Thanks again. I'll bring it by shortly."
As I left her room, I bumped into Alec.
"Hi, love!" I smiled at him.
"Hi, darling. What were you doing with Heidi?" He asked, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
"Nothing, just a bit of girl talk," I said as we started walking.
"Just girl talk? Because it seems to have your heart beating faster than normal."
I blushed, trying to think of something to throw him off. "Heidi was just telling me about her latest boy-toy. That's all. What are you up to?"
Alec sighed. "The Masters are wanting me to stay back from missions for the time being."
"Oh? Why?"
"They're talking about changing you soon. It's been almost a year, love."
"Right. Speaking of the Masters, I actually need to talk to Master Caius. I'll be back later, love." I pressed a kiss to his cheek and turned to run off. Before I could, Alec grabbed my arm.
"I'll be in the gardens, come find me when you're done."
I nodded and left.
I ran to the throne room and knocked on the doors.
"Come in," Aro's voice rang out.
I opened the doors and entered the room. I stopped just shy of the stairs where the Masters were.
"Ah, young (Y/N). What brings you here?" Aro asked.
"I wanted to talk about my changing. And I also had a question for Master Caius." I took a breath to calm my nerves. Being in the Masters presence was always intense.
"I would like to wait another 2 and a half weeks. I have something special I want to do for Alec since it's been a year since we found each other and I don't my changing to get in the way."
"That sounds reasonable. Alec is lucky to have met you, my dear," Marcus said, smiling.
"If Aro agrees, then I see no problem waiting a little bit longer. But you also had a question for me?" Caius asked.
"Yes." I turned to face him. "Do we have a sewing machine?"
"We do. It's been a minute since it's been used but it should work fine. Why do you need it?" Caius asked.
I grinned sheepishly. "I want to make Alec a quilt. I know you guys don't technically get cold and don't really have a reason for one, but I thought it'd be nice to hand-make Alec something rather than buying something premade."
Marcus let out a chuckle. "I'm sure he'll love it. Caius will show you where the machine is."
Caius stood from his throne and headed towards the doors. "Follow me."
I bowed to the other two kings and made my way towards the third.
"So I need her to get black fabric, dark green fabric, a queen sized black sheet, and extra large batting," I muttered to myself.
"What are you going on about?" Caius asked, not looking back at me.
I jumped, not expecting him to start talking to me. "Oh, Heidi said she'd help me get the stuff I need to make the quilt so I'm making a list."
We turned down a hallway and entered a room on the left. "The machine is in here. There should be some extra things laying around that you can use."
Caius walked in and lit the lanterns. "If that is all, I'll take my leave."
"Yes, thank you Master Caius." I turned and bowed.
Caius nodded and left.
I spotted some paper and a pen. I grabbed some and jotted down the list for Heidi. I took a quick look around, noting where the machine was and some extra fabric laying around. I quickly added a tape measure to my list and left.
I searched the castle for Heidi, wanting to find her before returning to Alec. I finally found her, walking with Demetri.
"Heidi!" I called out, running to her.
"Hey, that took a lot longer than I thought it would," she commented as I handed her the list.
"Sorry. I bumped into Alec once I left your room and I had to come up with something so he wouldn't find out what I'm planning so I said I had to talk to the masters. Then Caius said we did have a sewing machine and he showed me where it is and then I wrote the list and then I came and found you."
"(Y/N). Breathe." Demetri laughed. "So what are you planning? You left in a rush earlier."
"I want to make Alec a quilt for our anniversary," I whispered. I wasn't sure if Alec was still in the gardens and I didn't want to risk him hearing if he wasn't.
Demetri nodded. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Help keep Alec away while I work on it? It'll probably take the entire the two weeks with all the cutting and sewing and ironing I need to do."
"Got it. I'll help keep Alec distracted till it's done."
"Thank you!"
"I'll run to the store and get your things. I'll send Demetri to come find you when I have everything." Heidi said, walking off.
"Great. I will go find Alec then and try not spill anything." I smiled and waved goodbye to Demetri.
I found Alec sitting in the gazebo, reading a book. I came up behind him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.
"Did things go well with the Masters?" He asked, closing his book.
I nodded against his shoulder. "Yeah, I wanted to wait another couple weeks before changing. They agreed."
"Really? Why wait?"
I slid onto the bench beside Alec. "No reason in particular," I lied.
Alec arched his brow. "Are you scared?"
I sighed. "Yeah, kinda. All I've heard since being told I'd have to be change is how much it's going to hurt."
Alec wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me into his side. "It will be painful but I promise I will be by your side through it all."
I smiled and kissed him. "Thank you."
TIMESKIP
It's been two days since Heidi got my fabric and other items and I've managed to get all the cutting done. Now it was onto creating the rows.
I sat on the floor of the sewing room trying to decide on a pattern. Heidi had grabbed some watercolor and marble pattern fabric instead of solid colors which I thought worked really well. "Well, since the queen sheet is black, I could use the green fabric for the outside and use the black to create a heart in the middle," I muttered to myself.
Deciding that was the best way to go, I carefully laid out the pieces on the floor, mapping out how the quilt was going to look. Some of the squares would need to be cut differently but that was going to be too hard.
I grabbed my scissors and started cutting the black and green fabrics that would outline the heart.
"Hey, (Y/N)? Alec is looking for you." Felix said, poking his head in the door.
"Can you distract him? I'm getting ready to sew the squares into rows and I want to finish that tonight," I asked, looking up from my cutting.
"Of course. Good luck." Felix closed the door and I turned back to the fabric.
The last square was cut and the quilt was mapped out once more. I grabbed the first row, sat at the sewing machine and started sewing.
DAY FIVE
The final row had been sewed and I could finally take a break longer than just grabbing something to eat and sleeping. I pushed myself away from the sewing table and stood up. My back and shoulders popped as I stretched, making me sigh in relief.
I left the room and headed to the kitchen. I was craving spaghetti and in the mood to actual cook. I grabbed a pot and a pan and put them on the stove.
I hummed quietly to myself as I grabbed everything I need to start cooking.
"I see someone's out of hiding."
I gasped and spun to face whoever spoke. "Alec! Hi!"
He was leaning against the doorway of the kitchen, looking annoyed.
"So when are you disappearing again?"
I frowned. "In a couple hours. I'm sorry."
Alec scoffed. "What are you even doing? Felix and Demetri won't tell me."
I put the pot of water I was holding on the stove and walked over to my boyfriend. "I promise you'll find out soon but not right now."
I leaned up to kiss his cheek but he pushed me away.
"Sure. I'll see you later. Or not."
I watched as Alec walked away, feeling my heart break. I looked back at the food I was starting to cook and decided to just put everything away.
I had to hurry and finish the quilt before I seriously ruined my relationship.
DAY TEN
It had been a couple days since I last left the sewing room. Felix, Demetri and Heidi had taken turns bringing me food and coaxing me to my room to sleep.
I had finished sewing the rows together yesterday and now it was onto cutting the batting to size.
I laid out the top of the quilt on the floor and rolled the batting on top of that. Grabbing my scissors, I carefully cut the batting to match the quilt top. Once that was done, I grabbed the sheet and laid it next to the rest of the quilt.
Then I placed the batting on top, making sure it was centered and then added the quilt top. I walked over to the sewing table and grabbed the tomato plush that held the pins and needles.
I put a pin in each corner of the blanket and across the outer edge. I was almost done and I couldn't wait to show Alec. He had started avoiding me whenever I left and I couldn't blame him. I could only hope he'd be able to forgive me.
DAY THIRTEEN
It was finally time to sew the border of the quilt. I rubbed my eyes and grabbed the quilt, taking it to the sewing table. The machines gentle purr as it sewed had become a comforting sound during the project. My hands and back ached from all the pinning and sewing and overall bad posture.
Finally. Finally the quilt was done. I carefully folded it and placed it on the table. I sat down on the couch Felix had brought in when I started spending a majority of my time in the room.
My eyes began to droop as I gave in to my exhaustion and I fell asleep.
Alec's POV:
I walked through the castle, wondering what was so important that (Y/N) no longer talked to me. I tried to just forget about it but they would lock themselves in the room for hours on end without saying anything.
Felix and Demetri, even Heidi, kept trying to tell me everything was ok but they wouldn't tell me what they were doing.
I scoffed as I saw Felix and Heidi rushing towards me.
"You need to come see (Y/N)," Heidi said, grabbing my arm.
"Why? If you haven't noticed, they've been avoiding me."
"You numbskull, they've been working on something for you. And now it's been like 36 hours since I've seen them leave that room." Heidi scolded.
My expression soften. "36 hours?"
Felix nodded. "They wanted to do something special for your anniversary tomorrow. I won't tell you what they did but you need to come with us and get her to eat a proper meal and get some sleep."
I nodded. "Lets go then."
I followed Heidi and Felix to the room (Y/N) had been holing themselves in.
When we got there, (Y/N) was asleep on the couch. I walked over and knelt beside them.
"Darling? It's time to wake up now."
(Y/N)'s POV:
I slowly opened my eyes, scared the voice I heard was just a dream. Once my eyes adjusted, I saw Alec kneeling beside me with Felix and Heidi standing behind him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"I've come to get you. Heidi and Felix told me you've been in here the last three days."
Quickly, I sat up, realizing just what was going on. "No, no, no, you can't be in here! I haven't wrapped it yet."
Tears filled my eyes at the thought of ruining the surprise.
"Love, it's okay. I haven't looked around. I just came to get you. I've been worried," Alec said, trying to calm me down.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I've been avoiding you. I just wanted to do something special for you," I explained, wiping my eyes.
Alec moved to sit next to me on the couch. "I'm sorry too. I should have been more considerate towards you. I was hurt when you started avoiding me. I should have tried to talk to you instead of avoiding you as well."
I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him. "We both could've communicated better. We'll do better from now on."
I felt Alec lean down and kiss the top of my head. "We will."
"You're surprise is on the sewing table. If you still want it," I told him, pulling back.
"Of course I do, love. You made it for me after all."
I smiled at him and walked over to the table, grabbing the quilt. Walking back to him, I set it in his lap. "I made it in our favourite colors."
Alec stood up and let the blanket unfurl. There was messed up stitches and some rows were slightly off but it was finished. Alec dropped the blanket on the couch and grabbed me, twirling me in the air.
"I love it. Thank you."
I hugged him again, resting my head on his shoulder. "You're welcome. I'm glad you like it."
Alec set me down and pressed a kiss to my forehead. "It's perfect. I love you."
"I love you, too."
Bonus:
"Great! Now go get some proper food, (Y/N), and go to sleep in your own bed," Heidi exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air.
"Alright, alright, fine! You win! Let's get out of here," I said, laughing.
Alec grabbed his quilt in one hand and grabbed mine in the other. We followed Heidi and Felix out of the room, happy things were normal again.
Drunk (Alec Volturi x reader)
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Description: Before being changed you really want to go out one last time.
1780 words
„Isn’t that dress a little short?“, Alec looked at your form critically and an unhappy frown made its way onto his face. „No love, that’s what people wear these days at parties“, you giggled and let him pull you into his arms. „I don’t like it“, he grumbled under his breath, his fingers tracing the end of your dress just under your butt. „So you’re telling me you don’t think I look pretty?“, you pouted and his eyes snapped from your low neckline to your eyes. You were sure if he could blush he would’ve. „No, you look absolutely ravishing, but I’m surely not the only one to notice“, he said with an edge in his voice. „You’re the only one who gets to take it off of me though“, you blushed a little at your own boldness, making him smile, „and don’t worry, Heidi and Renata are with me.“
„Just be careful alright?“, Alec softly stroked your cheek and you smiled at him innocently. „Of course, I love you!“, you reassured him and kissed him goodbye before he could change his mind. You were only going to be human for a few more months and you wanted to go out clubbing one last time before being turned. After pestering Alec for days he finally agreed, Heidi and Renata quickly volunteering to go with you. You had asked Jane too, but she just looked at you as if you’d grown a second head.
So you got ready, put on your favorite dress and now you were out the door to meet the other two at the door. What Alec didn’t know (but the girls did) was that you were planning to get drunk one last time too, making this a real and memorable last party night. Not that you were planning on getting blackout drunk, just a little buzz.
————————
You stumbled over your own feet a little when you made your way to Renata who was sitting at the bar. Heidi was still dancing, but you needed a break. You were a little worried that the two of them wouldn’t like the music or something, but they fit right in and seemed to have fun. You were definitely having fun, especially after the Tequilas and Margeritas you already had. You really forgot how exciting it is to go out clubbing with your friends.
A few hours later (it was already about four in the morning) and you three finally had enough, so you made your way home. The club was about twenty minutes away from the castle, so you strolled through the empty dark streets of Volterra, occasionally stumbling over other people on their way home.
„So you need to explain to me tomorrow why exactly it is fun for humans to get drunk“, Heidi laughed after you stumbled over the cobblestone yet again. „It’s…I don’t know, you just let loose and you’re not as…hey look, there’s a cat!“, you squealed the end and walked over to the cat that was sitting on the small wall infront of a house.
After about five minutes Renata and Heidi were finally able to convince you to go home, eventhough the cat was clearly enjoying all the attention so you didn’t really understand why. „Do you think Alec will let me get a cat?“, you wondered as you three rounded the last corner before arriving at the castle. „You should ask him“, Renata told you while Heidi opened the door and you walked in.
„Come one, we’ll go to your room so you can ask him right away!“, Heidi grinned and led you up the stairs. Halfway through the second floor corridor you encountered Felix and Demetri. „Oh, if it isn’t our party group“, Demetri laughed and Felix couldn’t help the grin making its way onto his face.
„Oh I’m so glad we met you! In need your opinion: Do you think Alec will let me get a cat?“, you whispered and stumbled forward, Demetri catching you before you could fall. „Woah there, dancing wasn’t the only thing you were doing tonight hm?“, he completely ignored your question. „You let the little human get drunk?“, Felix laughed loudly this time, „Oh this it too good!“
„Hey!“, you pouted at him, „I’m not that drunk!“ „Ah come on, we had to let her have some fun tonight, once she’s turned she can’t get drunk anymore“, Heidi dismissed them and pulled you along. „Good luck explaining that to Alec!“, Demetri called from behind you and you could hear them laughing even when you entered the staircase.
You entered the third floor where yours and Alec’s room was located and you just passed Janes door when it happened. You were distracted by the spiderweb on the ceiling and tripped over the end of the carpet, Heidi and Renata too surprised to catch you and so you fell right onto the stonefloor of the castle. Knees first. Before you could fall over and additionally scratch your hands Heidi reacted and caught you.
„Oh shit“, was the only thing Renata said, but you brushed Heidi off and got up. It didn’t even hurt that bad. „It’s alright, doesn’t even hurt don’t worry“, you tried to calm them down, not really grasping why they looked so horrified. „Why the hell are you bleeding?“, came a deep voice from behind you, which you immediately recognized as Alec.
„I’m not-“, you started to protest but looked down at your knees to see that you actually were bleeding a little. „Oh“, you added unintelligently and looked up to see the fear in Heidi and Renatas faces. „It’s not that bad, I just…uhm I stumbled over the carpet I think“, your drunk self wasn’t really helping right now.
„Are you…are you drunk?“, Jane was standing next to Heidi and Renata now and had to suppress an amused grin. „Uh…no“, you said, and god damn why couldn’t your brain speed it up a little. Alec was now standing next to you looking you up and down. „Why is she drunk?“, he asked, clearly addressing Renata and Heidi but not taking his gaze of your knees. Before they could answer your brain seemed to finally be able to think again.
„Alec it’s not their fault, I just wanted to have a last real night out before changing“, you softly told him, your hand on his shoulder but his stern look didn’t really fade. Before you could react he picked you up bridal style and sped into your room, slamming the door. „Oh please don’t do this“, you whined your hand clawing at his shoulder, „you’re going to make me throw up.“
Alec just gave you the silent treatment and sat you down on the vanity in the bathroom, cleaning out the small wounds on your knees and putting Band-Aids on. „Don’t be mad“, you whispered stroking his hair when he put the second one on. „Why would you do that?! Imagine if you fell on the lower guard floor where some of the younger vampires live! Heidi and Renata couldn’t have held them all back!“, Alec’s anger was practically tangible in the air.
You shrank back a little, your drunk self feeling emotions even more than your normal one. „I’m sorry“, you whispered and your eyes started to water involuntarily. At the sight of your wet eyes Alec just sighed, head tilting back and eyes closing for a moment. He seemed to gather himself before stepping up to you again, your legs spreading a little when he stepped between them.
„It’s just…I could have lost you“, he said quietly gripping your thighs. „It’s alright, I’m sorry“, you sighed, your hands making their way around his neck. After a few moments of you two silently enjoying her others presence, Alec picked you up, your legs automatically crossing behind his back. „We should get you to bed“, he said, letting you down on the bed and pulling out some pajamas. „I never told you that, but you picking me up like that is so hot“, you whispered but knew that he could hear you. „I’ll use that information to my advantage“, he grinned as he came over again with your clothes.
—————————
Waking up the next day, you remembered why alcohol wasn’t always that fun. Your head was thumping with the worst headache and your stomach felt a little sensitive even if you hadn’t moved yet. You carefully turned around hoping to find some water, your mouth feeling like sandpaper. „Good morning love“, Alecs voice came from your right. „Not so loud“, you whispered holding your head and slowly sitting up.
You carefully opened your eyes and immediately grabbed the water bottle on your nightstand. „Do we have any pain killers?“, you asked after drinking some of the water and Alec seemed to have been ready for that question, because he handed you some right away. „Thanks“, you whispered still not really present.
„I have to go in a few minutes there’s a trial do you think you’ll be okay?“, he asked and at least had a sympathetic smile on his face at the sight of you discomfort. „Yeah sure I’ll sleep a little longer“, you tried to smile and squeezed his hand before laying back down and turning over.
A few hours later you woke up a second time already feeling a bit better. Alec was still not back so you downed the rest of your water bottle and decided you have to get something to eat now. After brushing your teeth and skincare, you threw on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie and made your way to the kitchen. You were really hoping you wouldn’t encounter anybody, you were sure they would find great amusement in your suffering.
Your hopes were shattered though, because just before you could enter the kitchen on the second floor, you heard Demetri’s voice behind you. „Ah my ears weren’t deceiving me, it is our favorite little human“, he smirked standing next to you, „how are you feeling?“ „Okay“, you rolled your eyes, entering the kitchen.
He sat down at the table and as if on cue Heidi entered too. „Good Morning“, she grinned, „or should I say good afternoon?“ Both her and Demetri had to laugh at that. „Ha ha“, was your only reaction, their laughs making your headache flare up again. „So did you ask Alec about the cat?“, a third voice asked while you poured milk into your cereal. Cat?
„I don’t think she remembers that“, Heidi laughed, Renata and Demetri joining her. „Could you three keep it down please?“ you muttered, sitting down at the table too. That only made them laugh even louder.
The Tracker’s Daughter
Tumblr media
Word Count: 5,057 Alec x reader Oneshot Warnings: Fluff, NSFW
Demetri had been around for over a thousand years and had undertaken many missions on behalf of the Volturi Kings in order to keep their world safe, a secret from the human world but nothing could have prepared him for the surprise he got during a mission in Oxford, England that he, Felix and the twins were on. He tracked some vampires who were on the Volturi’s radar for leaving a trail of dead bodies in their wake, more accurately in their homes without even attempting to dispose of them or cover their tracks. The human authorities were starting to take note of these ‘unexplained deaths’ and thought them to be the work of a serial killer.
Once the vampires were taken care of and the house was quiet the sound of a heartbeat could be heard “There’s a human in the house” Felix said as he turned his head towards the stairs “Really, what gave it away?” Jane asked sarcastically and Alec choked back a laugh as Demetri went upstairs to investigate “I’ll deal with it, start thinking of how you’re going to cover this up.”
Demetri followed the heartbeat to a room at the end of the hallway and carefully opened the door to reveal a child’s bedroom. The walls were painted pink and a wooden toy chest sat next to a small bookcase full of children’s books. Demetri felt his heart ache knowing what needed to be done. Killing human children was something Demetri avoided at all costs, seeing them as innocents and was glad that the Kings never allowed children to partake in the ‘tours’ of the castle.
Demetri slowly walked over to the bed and crouched down and lifting the duvet slightly noticed a three-year-old girl crying silently and began coaxing the little girl out from under her bed gently. “It’s ok…I’m not going to hurt you. I promise” His voice low as he didn’t want to scare her further. She scooted back towards the wall shaking her head. “My name is Demetri, what’s your name darling?” He asked softly “Y/N” She replied low after a few moments, her heartbeat fast due her being scared. He smiled at her warmly and held his hand out to her “Please come out Y/N so we can talk. I promise you are safe now” She looked up at him and soon as he looked into her eyes he felt something snap into place and all he could think about was keeping her safe. He held her close and breathed in her scent as he felt her tiny arms wrap tightly around his neck. “Let’s go home little one” He said softly and made his way downstairs. “What the…” “This is Y/N and she is coming home with me” Demetri cut off Felix off and he could tell by his friend’s tone that this was not up for discussion.
Demetri took Y/N home and raised her as his daughter as he thought this would be safer than leaving her to be discovered by the human authorities and them asking her questions which could lead to her telling them about him and the other vampires that had killed her family.
The Kings understood and supported Demetri’s decision to raise Y/N in the castle. “She will be loved and protected forever” Marcus smiled at Demetri seeing the start of a familial bond between the tracker and the human child. “We will look after her when you are away on missions” Athenodora said with a warm smile “Yes, and we will educate her in the castle” Sulpicia added, pointing to herself, Athenodora and the Kings. “Thank you for understanding the reason behind my decision and supporting me in raising her” Demetri smiled at the five royals and bowed his head “You are very welcome” Aro replied.
Y/N stayed in Demetri’s quarters with him and Jane offered to help him with her as he had no idea how to care for a child. “I bought her some clothes and pyjamas” Jane said to Demetri and watched Y/N curiously “Thank you Jane” He replied and took the bags from her. Jane offered to bath Y/N but she refused insisting Demetri had to do it. Once Demetri bathed her and got her dressed into her new pyjamas he read her a bedtime story and spent the night reading in bed beside her. She woke up in the night crying from a nightmare so he held her close soothing her back to sleep.
Time jump – Fourteen years later
Alec had always felt protective of Y/N as she grew up and found her fascinating and as she got older, he felt ‘drawn’ to her and couldn’t work out why, so he decided to speak to the one person he knew would likely have the answer.
He knocked on the door of Marcus’ private study and waited to be invited in “Come in” Marcus called out and Alec opened the door “Sorry to bother you master, but I need your help” “No trouble my boy, take a seat and tell me what’s bothering you” Marcus replied softly “It’s to do with Y/N” Alec began and Marcus nodded, trying to hide his smile “I have always felt protective of her and I care for her, although she never refers to me as her uncle as she does Felix…” “Does that bother you?” Marcus asks cutting him off “No, master. In fact, I’m glad she doesn’t…especially as I’m starting to feel ‘drawn’ to her…although I don’t know why” He replied “Don’t you? Can you not think of a reason for your feelings changing towards her now that she is grown up?” Marcus asked, curious to see if Alec would catch on. Alec sat there for a few moments thinking; realisation flashed through his eyes, something Marcus noticed “Mate. She’s…oh no…D-Demetri’s going to kill me…” Alec stuttered out, before swallowing hard “I don’t think he’ll like the idea of you of being mates, not at first…especially as you watched her grow up, but I don’t think he’ll kill you” Marcus replied softly as he rose and moved to sit in the chair beside Alec “He wouldn’t hurt her that way” Marcus added as he placed his hand on Alec’s arm “What should I do?” “Talk to Demetri about the situation before you speak with Y/N. He’ll appreciate that more than you know” Marcus advised “Are you sure about the bond?” Alec asked and Marcus raised an eyebrow “Sorry master” “Don’t be. I can confirm the mate ties are there and they will only get stronger as time goes on and the bond will fall into place when the time is right.” Alec nodded and felt nervous of what the future held for him and Y/N.
Alec made his way to Demetri’s room and took a deep unneeded breath before knocking on the door and opening it to reveal Demetri sitting at his desk. “Demetri can I have word with you please?” “Of course Alec. Come in” “Actually can we leave the castle, maybe go hunting? It’s a…private matter” “Ok, lets go Alec.” He replied and put his paperwork away and made his way to the door, grabbing his jacket from the coat stand. The two of them leave the castle and make their way to the Tuscan countryside, Alec trying to get his thoughts together along the way.
“Do you really want to hunt or just talk?” Demetri asked “T-talk please” Alec said feeling nervous “Ok, whenever you’re ready Alec” Demetri sat on a fallen tree waiting for Alec to start. “Demetri, I-I have found my mate…” “That’s great news Alec” Demetri cuts him off, smiling “I fear you may not be so happy for me once you learn who she is” Demetri stares at him for a moment thinking, observing Alec’s nervous behaviour. “It’s Y/N isn’t it?” He asks and Alec nods “I have always felt protective of her and I-I have only recently started to feel to drawn to her. Mar-Marcus confirmed it earlier today…” “He advised you to talk to me before you spoke to…” “Yes Demetri. The ties are there but…if you don’t approve, I will stay away” Alec cut him off this time “No, you won’t Alec, that’ll only hurt you both and I will not see my daughter hurt” “Thank you Demetri. You took the news better than I thought” “Well, Y/N was born to be with you. I won’t stand in the way of you and her being together. Just…don’t force it, let the bond form naturally. That’s all I ask” Alec smiled and nodded at Demetri, hoping Y/N will accept him as her mate as easily as Demetri accepted the news.
Demetri spoke to Heidi about Alec discovering that Y/N was his mate, needing to speak to someone about it. “Alec has spoken to me and advised that he has found his mate…in Y/N” Demetri paused and waited for her reaction “Has Marcus confirmed it?” “Yes, he has” “Dem, how long has Alec known?” “Not long, he had his suspicions and spoke to Marcus, and then to me. I have told Alec that I will not stand in his way of being with Y/N and I hope Jane doesn’t interfere either as it’ll only hurt Y/N and Alec in the long run.” Heidi nods and places her hand on his arm “At least we know he’ll love and protect her…and she’ll continue to live in the castle, which is a good thing” Demetri nodded and smiled at Heidi’s reply.
“Y/N, may I come in?” Alec asks as he knocks on her open bedroom door “Of course Alec” He enters her room and closes the door, taking a seat at the end of her bed. “I have something I need to talk to you about Y/N” “Sounds serious, are you ok?” She asks concerned “I’m ok…I need you to listen to what I’m going to tell you before you respond. Ok?” She nods and he continues “Y/N I have always felt protective of you, but more recently I have felt drawn to you...in a way I never would have thought possible” He paused trying to collect his thoughts for a moment “Y/N, I-I’m your…that is…you’re my mate” He was looking down at his hands and missed the smile she gave him “Alec” He didn’t look up at her, so she tried again “Alec, I accept you as my mate” His head whipped up, his eyes meeting hers, a look of shock etched onto his face “Wh-what did you say?” “I said I accept you as my mate” She repeated and leant forward to kiss his cheek, if he could have blushed, he would have.
Demetri heard the conversation and smiled, happy that Y/N accepted Alec and amused at the way Alec had told her ‘Not exactly the smoothest way to tell a girl she’s your mate” He thought to himself and chuckled low as he made his way back to his room.
Y/N and Alec had been dating for a little over a month when they shared their first kiss and it was awkward as hell for both of them, all tongues and teeth. “Should have asked Demetri for tips” Felix said laughing, Santiago nodded in agreement before adding “Oh wait, no you couldn’t cause you’re dating his daughter” Santiago and Felix continued to laugh “I hate the pair of you” Alec growled at them and left the room. “Practice makes perfect” Chelsea said as she passed him in the hall “Thanks” He mumbled in response.
Y/N was ready to take the next step in her relationship with Alec but was worried about it as her room was opposite her dad’s and her uncle Felix’s room was in between her dad and her boyfriend’s rooms. She decided to speak to Gianna as she was the only other human in the castle and not related to any of the vampires. “I see the predicament you are in, either way your dad and your uncle are going to hear you being intimate with Alec” “I know” Y/N put her head down, resting it on her arms on the table. “I have a few suggestions for you…” “I’m all ears” Y/N said lifting her head and cutting her off “…You could use one of the guest rooms in the East Wing of the castle or wait until your dad and Felix are on guard duty one night or away on a mission” “That won’t work with their hearing and I don’t want my first time interrupted by them walking in on us” Y/N replied before putting her head back on her arms. “Sorry sweetie, I don’t know what else to suggest” Gianna patted her head softly.
Unbeknown to Gianna and Y/N, Dora had been nearby and overheard their conversation and decided to step in and help her ‘granddaughter.’ She arranged a meeting with Caius, Aro and Marcus to discuss her idea, Sulpicia came along to support Dora’s idea. “Next Friday night I need you…” She looked and pointed at the three Kings in turn “…to send Demetri, Felix and Jane away for the weekend on a mission or something” “Why?” Caius asked confused “You didn’t mention Alec, why’s that?” Aro asked, curiosity shining in his ruby eyes. “Firstly, because I said I need the three of them gone for the weekend and secondly, I didn’t include Alec as he is needed here.” Marcus smiled knowingly and waited for his brothers to catch on. A few moments later, it clicked for them both “You want Demetri and Felix out of the way so Alec and Y/N can have some ‘alone’ time and by sending Jane with them, it’s less suspicious” Caius said “Exactly my love” Dora replied “So, are you going to help?” Sulpicia asked, eyeing her husband “Of course, consider it done darling” Aro responded.
Y/N couldn’t help feeling excited when she found out her dad and Felix were going to be on a mission the next weekend, and the fact that Jane was going too was a bonus as her room was the other side of Alec’s. Y/N’s nerves began to sink in the closer it got to the weekend but she was determined to progress her relationship with Alec. Alec on the other hand had no idea what Y/N was planning for their date night as she was worried he might accidentally spill the beans to his sister, Felix or Santiago.
Y/N had arranged dinner for two on Alec’s balcony and had hidden something ‘comfortable’ for her to change in to later in Alec’s bathroom after he had finished getting ready for guard duty. Alec smiled warmly at his mate when he returned to his room for date night to see that she had arranged a romantic meal for two and hung some fairy lights on the balcony to create a romantic ambience. He drank a glass of blood whilst she ate a simple pasta dish. “I would have eaten with you sweetheart” “I know Alec but then you’d have to deal with it afterwards and it would kill the mood” She replied with a smile and stroked his hand.
Once dinner was over Y/N excused herself and entered the bathroom to change and to give herself a pep talk “You got this Y/N. You love him and he loves you. It’ll be fine” “Y/N are you ok?” Alec called out “Yea, be out in a sec.” Y/N took a deep breath before stepping out of the bathroom dressed in a pale pink babydoll and matching shorts. “Wow” Alec breathed out and Y/N smiled at his reaction as she walked over to him. Y/N stopped in front him of him and his hands went to her waist and pulled her closer “You look beautiful” Her cheeks flushed a little at the compliment before she leant forward and kissed him. She bit his lip and he parted his lips allowing her to deepen the kiss, soft moans leaving both of them. Y/N climbed onto his lap so she was straddling him and ran her fingers through his hair before pulling away to breath. Alec resumed the kiss after a moment and ran his hands up her body over the baby doll and felt himself get hard, something Y/N noticed causing her to smile into the kiss as she grinded against him. “Are you sure?” Alec asked low “Yes.”
Alec laid her down carefully before quickly locking his door and removing his shoes and socks. He walked back to the bed and admired his mate lying on his bed. “Want some help?” She asked, nodding at him and he nodded in response, a smile on his lips. She crawled towards the end of the bed and leant up on her knees and undid the buttons on his shirt pushing it up over his shoulders before letting it fall to the floor. He leant forward and captured her lips in a heated kiss as her hands made their way downwards over his chest and stomach, stopping above the waistband of his trousers. She pulled away to breath and smiled at him before undoing his belt and trousers, letting them fall to the floor. He stepped out of them, kicking them aside and kissed her again, holding her hands in his.
Y/N laid down on the bed watching as Alec crawled towards her, stopping when he was above her being careful to prop himself up on his arms. She felt his erection pressing into her thigh as he leant down kissing her hungrily, his hand moving up her side. He cups her breast and squeezes gently, a soft mewl leaving her lips and he smiles into the next kiss and repeats his actions. He sits up slightly lifting her with him and removes the babydoll before she lays back against the bed again watching as he removes her shorts and his boxers. Y/N’s eyes trail down her mate’s body admiring him, a soft chuckle pulling her from her thoughts “Sorry” “Don’t be. I like the view I have of my beautiful mate too” He replied with a smile, his red eyes darkened by lust.
He settles himself between her legs and gently slides a finger inside her and starts to move his finger in and out of her core preparing her for when he makes love to her. He added a second finger after a few moments and continued to move them within her, ensuring to brush them against her inner walls. Y/N began to writhe beneath him a little and felt a cold hand move to her hip, holding her in place. Alec could tell Y/N was close to her release and pushed his fingers deeper inside her, hitting that spot over and over again. Y/N felt the knot in her abdomen break and her warm release coated his fingers and he hummed in satisfaction at the taste of her. She could taste herself on his tongue as they fought to dominate the kiss. He ran his fingers through her slick folds and coated his hard cock in her arousal and gently entered her, stilling for a moment to allow her to adjust to him. She tapped his shoulder and he began thrusting in and out of her slowly, making love to her. His hand caressed her body gently as her fingers ran down his back, holding each other as they shared a kiss. “Ah Alec” Her voice breathy as he continued to move within her, one hand massaging her breast as he leaves a trail of kisses down her neck towards her other breast. Y/N wrapped her legs around his waist causing him to sink deeper inside her, both moaning in pleasure. Alec could tell his release was close and sensed hers too so sped up his thrusts a little and gently sucked on her nipple as he rolled the other between his thumb and forefinger. “Ah…Ah…Oh…” The only words she could form as her body reacted to her mate’s. “I’ve got you love” He whispered low as her walls clenched around his cock a few seconds before he felt her warm release, evidence of her second orgasm of the evening. His climax followed shortly after and he continued to move in and out of her, riding out their orgasms together.
Y/N opened her eyes and released her tight hold on Alec as he rolled off her “That was amazing” His voice low in the quiet room “You were amazing Alec” She replied and rolled onto her side to face him. “Will you stay with me tonight?” Alec asked, feeling unsure of himself despite having just made love to his mate “Yes” She smiled wide and kissed him soundly on the lips. Once they had showered and changed into their pyjamas Alec held Y/N in his arms as she slept feeling happy that they had taken the next step in their relationship.
The time came for Y/N to become immortal and everyone was curious as to who would change her, Alec, her mate or Demetri, her dad. “Alec, can we talk about my being changed please?” Y/N asked as they walked hand in hand through the garden one evening “Of course, what did you want to discuss?” “I want my dad to be the one to turn me. I want to cement our father / daughter bond” She replied and watched his face for his reaction “I understand Y/N” He smiled at her “Really?” “Yes. Really. If I’m honest I’m happy with your decision, it takes the pressure off of me changing you” He pressed his lips to hers “All I ask is that I am in the room with you when he turns you.” She smiled back at him, nodding before pressing her lips to his “I love you Alec” “I love you more Y/N” He wrapped his arms around her “Let’s go tell your dad of your decision.”
Y/N and Alec made their way back into the castle finding Demetri in the family room with Felix, Jane and Heidi. “Here come the lovebirds” Felix teased as they entered the room, everyone ignored his comment. “Dad I have something I’d like to talk to you about…” “You better not be pregnant at 17, because I’ll kill him” Demetri cuts her off and glares at Alec “No. Oh my god. No dad. I’m not pregnant” She replies, shocked that he’d think that but is happy when Demetri visibly relaxes. “Then what you would like to discuss?” He asks. “Why does the thought of Y/N being pregnant by me put you in a murderous mood?” Alec asks clearly offended by Demetri’s reaction; Demetri growls low “Alec” “Brother” Y/N, Heidi and Jane say at the same time “Not the time” Heidi adds looking at Alec, who nods once.
Y/N turns back to Demetri and sits beside him “I want to discuss being changed” She says and notices her dad seems nervous “I want you to be the one to turn me…?” “Really?” He asks smiling, although he is a little surprised “Really. Everyone knows I’m your daughter but I want to truly be your daughter” His eyes fill with venom and he pulls her onto his lap holding her close “Knowing that you want me to turn you means more to me than you’ll ever know. I love you” “I love you too dad” She kissed his cheek “Think of it as a reward for raising a human daughter for 14 years, not to mention eating all those baked goods despite the fact it tasted foul and you had to throw it back up” Everyone chuckled at this. He placed his hands on her cheeks and looked into her eyes “You have definitely made the last 14 years very…interesting around here but I wouldn’t change a single minute of it” She placed her hands on his cheeks “Really dad?” “Really. I am proud to call you my daughter” He kissed her forehead and continued to hold her.
Demetri agreed to Alec being in the room when he turned her, knowing that Alec wanted to help her with the initial burning sensation. “Thank you Alec, for accepting her decision to have me change her. It means a lot” “Can I tell you a secret Demetri?” Alec asks and he nods “I would have declined her request if she had asked me to change her” “Why? She’s your mate” Demetri sounded confused “I know that, but I know how much she means to you. If I’m being honest, I don’t want the responsibility of looking after your daughter as a newborn. As her mate, I’d rather help you train her instead” Demetri was shocked and just stared at him for a few moments “That is a very grown-up view of the situation and I am proud to call you my son-in-law” He squeezed Alec’s shoulder gently “I may only look 18 but I’m nearly as old as you. It was bound to happen eventually” They both chuckled “Y/N told me she wants to cement her father / daughter bond with you and having your venom running through her does that for her” Demetri nodded in understanding “Oh and don’t think I didn’t catch you calling me your son-in-law, dad” “Watch it” Demetri growled back pointing a finger at him, again they both chuckled.
“I’m going to stay here and let your dad take you out for your first hunt, and teaching newborns to hunt is something your dad is good at seeing as he trains the guards” Alec said looking them “Thank you Alec” Y/N kissed his lips and Alec wrapped his arm around her pulling her closer “I don’t need to see that” Demetri said as he left the room “Meet me at the entrance” Demetri called over his shoulder.
Ten minutes later Y/N and Alec walked towards Demetri holding hands “I thought you two said goodbye upstairs” “They did but I told them that Alec and I would join the two of you…a family hunting trip” Jane said looking at Demetri who smiled back at her nodding. Footsteps sounded behind them and they turned to see Heidi in jeans and a jumper “What are you wearing?” Alec asked surprised “An outfit that’s suitable for a family hunting trip” Heidi said with a smile and Demetri raised an eyebrow at her “I helped raise her and I want to be a part of her first hunt” “When was the last time you hunted?” Demetri asked, amusement clearly shown on his face “Shut up Dem. It’s like riding a bike, you never forget” She replied and walked past them towards the doors. Jane chuckled and took Demetri’s hand leading him out of the castle, Alec and Y/N followed behind their fingers intertwined.
They stopped once they reached the forest in Tuscany “There’s a camping site about two miles east of here” Demetri said and the others nodded before they all took off in that direction. Y/N smelt the humans and growled, eyes darkening with hunger and ran towards them. Demetri ran forward and grabbed his daughter by the waist “Wait little one. Focus on your surroundings” “Hold your breath sweetheart, it’ll help” Alec said and Y/N nodded. “Decide which human you want and be quick when you grab them so they don’t run and make sure to hold them securely before you bite their neck” Y/N nodded, taking in her dad’s advice. They all watched the human campers for a few moments before Demetri whispered “Now” They all ran forward and Y/N grabbed the dark-haired man around the throat holding him to her chest and bit down on his neck, the warm blood flowing down her throat easing the burn. She released him and he fell to the ground next to the blonde-haired female Jane had a dropped a moment earlier. Jane chuckled seeing Y/N’s top splattered with blood. “Everyone’s a bit messy the first time they hunt” Demetri said softly and wiped the drop of blood from her lip. “You did so well sweetheart” Alec said as he wrapped his hand around her wrist and pulled her into him and kissed her “I love you Alec” “I love you too” Alec replied and kissed her again.
Demetri and Alec trained Y/N over the next few months and the Kings were impressed by her calm demeanour considering she is a newborn. “I think growing up around all of us and knowing that becoming an immortal was her destiny, she had time to adjust to the news which has helped greatly” Caius said as he and his brothers watched Y/N take down Santiago with ease during a training session. “True. I also think having Demetri as her father helped, they always had a strong bond and that has only gotten stronger since he turned her” Marcus said with a smile. “I’m glad that Y/N found her mate in Alec as it means our family stays together and he is someone Demetri trusts with his daughter’s life and happiness.” Aro added smiling. “I don’t think Demetri would have accepted another so easily” Caius added, knowing that he wouldn’t have accepted an outsider as Y/N’s mate without first ensuring he and Demetri put them through some rigorous training, among other things. Marcus and Aro smiled knowingly at Caius “None of us would have easily accepted an outsider as our granddaughter’s mate” Aro said and his brother’s nodded.
“HA! BEAT YOU AGAIN!” Y/N called out loudly as she pinned Felix for the second time that week. “Well done Y/N” Demetri said with a proud smile on his face. “Thanks dad” Y/N smiled back at him. “Yes, well done. That was truly amazing to watch” Alec added before pulling her in for a kiss. “I love you Alec” “I love you too sweetheart.”
Alec smiled at his mate as she tackled her dad to the floor, catching him off guard “Gotcha.” A shocked gasp leaving Demetri’s lips before he reacted and rolled them over so she was pinned beneath him. “I win” He chuckled looking down at his daughter who sighed in defeat as he was the one vampire who she couldn’t seem to beat in a ‘fight’ during her training sessions.
‘I’m looking forward to spending forever with my Y/N’ Alec thought to himself, happy that he finally got his happy ending.
At first, you weren’t sure what to make of your mate. First, Felix was big. Like…two meters tall and really muscular. Like wow. And second, he… was busy. Like very busy, which you could comprehend since he was one of the highest ranked guards of the Volturi Coven. And the executioner… that's it you had said it. His job was to brutally kill people, and you did not fully know what to make of him because of that.
He was kind to you of course. But you could barely see him. He had a very important place in the coven after all, it would be mean to hold it against him, he couldn’t help it after all. But it was making it harder for you to understand him, how could you get to know him better if he wasn’t there with you?
Ever since you were staying with the Volturi after finding out that you were Felix’s soulmate, your existence had gotten kind of lonely. The current secretary would go shopping with you if you needed something but you were mostly staying in your quarters that were adjacent to Felix’s. So, you decided to spend the time by decorating as much as you could your quarters to your own taste.
As a goth, you took advantage of the Halloween season to buy home decor. Artificial black roses, deep red and purple ones, black lace curtains, gothic prints you paired with vintage looking frames Heidi found for you in an abandoned room… You kept the walls white but painted the furniture black. Lots of bookshelves were acquired to hold your book collection, CDs and DVDs, Felix had made sure you had a good TV and even better stereo when you said you basically lived with music. Anne Stokes and Victoria Frances’ art hung all over your walls, nemesis now dark fairy figures and cult cuties shelved neatly above your desk, nightmare before Christmas plushies and figures scattered all around your quarters with the occasional Hello Kitty and Kuromi: it was starting to look like home.
When December came by you bought red velvet curtains, and red crystal beads. A lot of them. Surprisingly, you were now finding every week rose bouquet, that you would put to dry and keep in elegant vases. You were sure they were from Felix, even if he never mentioned it the few times the two of you had met in November.
You were working on the canopy of the bed, after installing the black lace curtains and strings of white pearls that were easy to find as Christmas tree ornament, you were making garlands of red crystal beads that would reflect the light all around your bed canopy. Attaching bead after bead, you were disrupted by Felix. You looked at him, surprised as you saw him sit beside you on the black silk sheets of your bed.
“Good evening my darling mate”
This evening, you finally got to spend time with your mate. He apologized for his lack of presence beside you, the coven had been exceptionally busy and he had not been able to give you the time you deserved. But now, he was here, and could finally take care of you, his mate, properly.
You talked for hours that night, She Wants Revenge playing low in the background as you finally got to know each other.
But no matter how interesting this all was, you were getting tired. Felix noticed your yawn, and with a smile put you to bed, tucking you in and gently kissed your forehead goodnight.
Your Felix held his promise. Week after week you got to know the other better. Going from strangers to friends… to more. After a few months you realized that Felix wasn’t a friend anymore. No, he was more. You wanted him to be more. But it wasn’t easy. He was your soulmate! It was supposed to be easy! But it wasn’t. At all.
Spring came and left, and so did summer. It was the middle of autumn, and you still did not know how to tell your soulmate you liked him. How could you? How could a simple human compare to a vampire? He had not turned you yet, it seemed that he quite enjoyed your human habits for now. Maybe he liked your softness, the warmth of your skin or the color of your eyes? But that did not resolve your problem. How could you tell him when you had never done this before? You were in your twenties and not had your fist kiss yet!
You had started a diary to keep your memories, express your feelings and your thoughts. And the most recent entries were all about him. About Felix, the gleam in his eyes, the way his skin shone brightly under the sunlight, how hot you had found the glimpses of his toned and muscular body you had been able to see, the way his thunderous laugh made your heart smile… How… You love him. That’s it, you had admitted it fully: you loved him. It was written black on white in your diary. Your heart was in his hands. You did not need a prayer when you had his name.
That was the last line you wrote, leaving your diary on your bed as you left your bedroom to take a relaxing bath before going to bed in your favorite attire.
You came out of the bathroom, all clean and fresh, humming some She Wants Revenge song, when you froze. Felix. Felix was sitting on your bed. Felix was sitting on your bed holding your diary. Felix was reading your diary where you very explicitly wrote how much you loved him. Fuck.
 When Felix looked at you, you felt like you could die from embarrassment. You tried to leave, but in the blink of an eye you found yourself your back against a wall, Felix’s body pressed against yours preventing you from running away. Anyway, where would you have gone? This was your room, for fuck’s sake! You shivered as he used his big hand to raise your head so he could look you in the eyes.
“You meant it?”
“What”
“What you wrote in your diary about me. You mean it?”
You had never seen Felix that serious before, his husky voice had lost all humor.
“It… It is… Yes, it is true. I … I really mean it.”
You blurted out the last words, anxious. What if it wasn’t what he wanted to hear? What if he hated you now? What if… Wait, why was he smiling?
“You have no idea how long I’ve longed for this. May I?”
You nodded, not sure what he was asking for. He cupped your cheek, and to your surprise he kissed you. You closed your eyes.
It was better than what you had read in your books, much better. His lips were soft against yours, his kiss tender but quite possessive at the same time. You returned it, quite clumsily due to your inexperience, but still with enthusiasm. He was the one to break it so you could breathe again. You were only human after all. Your body needed it.
“Damn, that was…”
He laughed at your reaction.
“Can you do it again?”
Smirking, he eagerly accepted your request.
Later, when you were too tired to stay awake, Felix accepted to stay under the covers and hold you. The feeling of his strong and much bigger body wrapped around your much smaller frame brought unholy thoughts to your mind, that you quickly shook away, but it still let you the time to show slight embarrassment. You thought for a moment that Felix would take advantage of it, but he didn’t, only kissing the top of your head and bringing you closer to his body.
“Does that mean that we are together now?” “You could say that dolcezza.” “So you’re my boyfriend?” “Absolutely not. I’m your mate. If you want a more human term, just say that I’m your husband.”
You looked at him, shocked, and that little shit that was your mate had the biggest grin you’d ever seen.
“I… I think mate is an appropriate term.” “As you wish.”
Your heart was beating so fast he couldn’t not hear it, and his bright smile was the confirmation. Luckily for you, Felix had decided to go easy on you for tonight. But you feared what his teasing would be like…
You fell asleep with these thoughts in mind, Felix’s arms holding you tight against him. “Buonanotte tesoro mio, ti amo…”
When you woke up the next day, Felix was still here, holding you.
“Hi” “Hi. Slept well?” “Yes” “Good”
Bringing you closer to him, Felix buried his face in your neck. You froze as it felt like he was smelling you, and he left a kiss where he could feel your pulse. Being this close to him felt nice, really nice. He smelled good, too. Something musky, homey.
“Are you sniffing me?” “You did a few moments ago” “Touché.” A pause. “So?” “You smell nice. Like home.” “Ah, that’s a mate thing, you know? I smell good like that to you only.” “And me? What do I smell like?” “The tastiest thing I’ve ever met.” “Felix!” “What?! You should take this as a compliment! You smell delicious!”
He had that cocky look that looked so good on him. You couldn't wait to spend forever with him.
Tumblr media
It was near Christmas now. More than one year since you met Felix, a few months since you realized you loved him, and a few weeks since the two of you were fully mated. Well fully… There was something the two of you had not done yet. It was… sex. For fuck’s sake, you were an adult, you could say the word sex! But… that did not erase the fact that you had basically no experience in dating. Felix was your first kiss… and would be your first lover. The thing was that he was not aware of it. How could you tell him! This man was cocky enough, if you told him, it would sign you way to a never-ending teasing! Fuck. Wait, that was the point! This man – or vampire – was going to be the death of you.
Your thoughts were a complete mess. You were sure than even Aro couldn’t understand a single shit if he were to read your mind. Which was why it was a good thing that he hadn’t asked for a while. But maybe it could actually help? Wait no! You couldn’t let him know you were desperately trying to get in the pants of his executioner. All of it was driving you crazy.
You tried to keep up with appearances with Felix, behaving as normal as you could with him, but you couldn’t help but let some touches linger more than necessary, brush against him every time you were close with him, dragging the kisses as long as you could without accidentally killing yourself from the lack of oxygen… All of it you thought Felix didn’t notice. But that was forgetting something: your mate was very much a predator. And as a human, you were very much prey for him, even as his mate.
Your heartbeat running faster when he was close, the way his low voice would send shivers down your spine, or how some kisses and touches could get you clenching your thighs… Felix noticed everything, and your asshole of a mate was reveling in it, your love like the thrill of the hunt. He took great pleasure in it, day after day, trying to drive you crazy until you would be your back against a wall, forced to tell him exactly what you wanted. And he would make sure you beg for it, dragging the thrill of the hunt as long as he could. But lucky for you, he loved you more than it. He would try to not make you beg, not too much at least.
Your Felix had become great at reading you, your expressions, your desires. And being as old as he was, it had not been hard for him to put two and two together: the way you returned his affection, always eager but also quite clumsily, always holding back afraid of going too far or doing wrong… That darker, possessive side off him was extremely satisfied of it, no one had touched you like that before, no one but him, you were forever his.
After a few weeks, your struggles were not funny anymore, he wanted you to feel desired, to not see your inexperience as a bad thing. You were so damn beautiful and desirable; he would show you how much he wanted you.
He would be off duty for the next few days, it was perfect. The next time he would get in your bed, you would not be sleeping for a good while.
For the past few days, it seemed like Felix was toying with you, always managing to get you where and how he wanted. He was slowly taking you out of your comfort zone, it was like he had something in mind as he would hold you close, soft breath in the crook of your neck sending shivers down your spine. He would let you back up if you were too uncomfortable, of course, but the bastard knew what he was doing, always taking you further and further of your comfort zone without crossing your boundaries, teaching you a few things about you in the meantime. Damn, did you always have that size and voice kink or was it of his doing? Fuck, you had no idea but did not care much, it was too good for the reasons why to matter anymore.
All of this led you to that very moment, your Felix towering over you, your back against the wall of your room. Voice low, whispering in your ear, driving you crazy.
“Aren’t you pretty like that, all flustered? Your blood smell so good I might just eat you…”
Of course, this led you to grow even more flustered, your blood rushing and tempting him even more. He took another step, and lowered his head even more, leaving cold kisses on your neck, his cool breath driving you crazy. You move your head to give him a better access, and let out a soft moan as his teeth scrap your neck.
“You like that don’t you? To be all helpless as soon as I touch you. My beautiful darling…”
He lifts you, claiming your lips and you can’t help but wrap your legs around his waist. He bites your lower lip, and you let out a soft gasp, your Felix taking advantage of it, his tongue meeting yours to explore your mouth. After a while the two of you part, soft panting can be heard from you. At this moment, you realize you left your stereo on, and as your notice what song is playing you send to hell every hesitation and kiss him passionately.
“I want to hold you close, skin pressed against me tight
Lie still, close your eyes, girl, so lovely, it feels so right
I want to hold you close, soft breast, beating heart
As I whisper in your ear, "I wanna fucking tear you apart"
It drives the both of you crazy, leaving you only wanting more, more than everything you had already done. So when Felix carries you to the bed, you continue to kiss him. When he lays you on the bed, climbing on top of you, you drag him close and deepen the kiss. When he takes off your shirt, you unbutton his, hands roaming everywhere on the other’s body in a frenzy haze, kisses left everywhere.
“I want you” you pause. “No, I need you.” You let out a moan as he rips your bra and leave kisses on your breast, a smile oh so smug brightening his face as he finds your sensitive spot. You writhe underneath him, clenching your thighs together, left wanting more, needing more of him.
“Felix…” His name leaves your mouth as a soft moan, and he can’t help but chuckle at your neediness, he’s finally got you where he wants you to be, he’s going to drag on this teasing as much as he can.
“That’s my name darling, say it again…”
He’s so smug but you can’t help but do as he say, especially when his pants and yours disappear, and his hand slip in your silky panties. As he brushes against your clit, you can’t help but buckle your hips, trying to get more friction where you need him the most.
“Eager, aren’t we?”  Always that smug expression, he knows he is driving you crazy and he revels in it: you’re his and he is the only one able to get these reactions from you. He leans over you, pressing his body against yours, claiming your lips once again. You whimper as you can feel his hard bulge against you, increasing your arousal to an extent you didn’t know was possible. But you weren’t the only one left craving for more.
“Please Felix…” “I need you to use your words tesorina. Tell me, what you want?” “You. I want you I need you!” “So greedy my darling… Is that what you want?”
You can’t answer him as he rips your panties, throwing away what’s left of them before making his own underwear meet the same fate. He’s bigger than you anticipated, yet the only thing you can focus on is how much you want him inside of you.
Not breaking eye contact with you, he strokes his penis a few times, making sure it’s slick with his precum and your arousal, and get on top of you, teasing your wet folds with his hard length.
“Are you sure you want this?” He looks at you with such seriousness, trying to read your face and be sure this is what you want, that he’s not going further than you’re comfortable with. “Yes Felix please” “You only have one word to say and I’ll stop if it’s too much for you”
You nod, and satisfied with your approval Felix thrust into you. You moan at the feeling; you feel so full of him. You expected it to hurt, being your first time, but it doesn’t, your love prepared you enough.
“That’s what you want, isn’t it my darling? My cock filling you up, bringing you more pleasure than you’ve ever had.”
You can only whine and moan, too lost in the pleasure you’re experiencing for the first time. Felix eats up every of your reactions, satisfied that only him get to make you feel this good.
“You’re so responsive to my touch” Felix praises you, and his words do something to you you weren’t aware of it being possible. Something good. Really good. Felix, attentive to all of your reactions, notice and whispers sweet praises in your ear, driving you wild. He thrusts faster, eliciting more moans from you. It feels so good, you can only focus on him and the pleasure he gives you, moaning his name.
“I love hearing you cry out my name, tesoro. It’s music to my ears.”
He finally finds an especially sensitive spot of yours, hitting it relentlessly, eliciting moan after moan from you. He growls in pleasure, getting you closer and closer. You feel something ready to snap inside of you.
“Please Felix I’m close so close!” “That’s it darling, come for me.” He kisses your shoulder. “Come for me, let me feel how much you love me. I’ll be right behind you, filling you with everything I have.”
The pad of this finger brushes against your clit, and with his dirty words it’s enough to make you snap, riding the first climax of your life. Your Felix follows quickly, his cool cum filling your cunt as he moans your name, “you’re mine all mine my [Y/N] forever mine never letting you go my sweet and beautiful [Y/N]”
You fall back on the bed, trembling with pleasure and exhaustion. Sliding out of you, Felix admires for a moment your mixed release dripping down your inner thighs, before laying down beside you and holding you close, whispering sweet praises in your ear. He kisses your forehead tenderly, and you snuggle closer to him.
“I love you” “I love you too tesorina”
Exhausted, you fall asleep, safe and spent in your mate’s arms, Felix never letting you go for a second, holding you tight against him the whole time. This is what eternity should feel like, and he will make sure it always is that way for you.
Could you do yandere volturi leaders with a darling that is already married. Like not new married but been married for 20-10 years, 2 kids, another on the way. Would they let their darling live their life with their family or take them away from their family that they already have a strong bond with?
ofc!
ok first of all your husband is not making it through this. these men do. not. share. so I hope you weren't too attached.
most likely they would have Heidi invite you and your children to a private tour of the castle, and of course, distract your children with a special part so that the kings can talk to you.
they would be very calm and caring talking to you not wanting to stress their new wife out. let's just say you won't be leaving the castle that day or ever.
They give you anything you would ever need or want. pregnancy cravings? They run across the world to get it. attention? They'll blow off their duties to cuddle you. tired and can't watch your other children? step-father and step-child bonding time.
they would tell you that they're vampires but you and your kids would never be allowed near them when they feed.
when the baby finally comes they will turn you. they can't live knowing that they'll continue aging.
they will care for the new child as their own, in fact, they'll tell the child that it is theirs.
you have to accept them, Don't forget they only have so much patience and aren't above threatening the things you love most to assure you stay theirs.
once you accept that you'll all be a perfect family.
Word Count: 1.6k+
Ooooh slow and romantic high heels and demetri would be fantastic like with the kissing up the leg trope you see in movies
A/N: This is sickeningly mushy. You're welcome.
Tumblr media
The night had been a whirlwind. I was never a huge fan of the balls that the Masters were so big on throwing, but with Demetri by my side, it was tolerable. Well, more than tolerable, but I wasn't going to tell him that.
"Darling."
Speak of the devil. I looked up from my glass of wine to see my mate, handsome in his suit and bow tie, one of the few vampires in a more up-to-date outfit. He was a sight for sore eyes. Being a part of the elite guard he had quite a bit of schmoozing to do with the guests, while I was more of an observer.
He gave me a cheeky grin as he appeared next to me, leaning in and placing a kiss on the pulse point on my neck.
"Excuse me, sir." I raised a brow at him. "My lips are up here."
His grin widened and he leaned in, kissing me softly. My eyes fluttered shut as I reached up to pull him closer by the back of his neck. I was sure that happiness was practically radiating off of me.
Demetri pulled back and booped my nose with his.
"You look ravishing, darling."
"I think that's the third time you've told me that tonight, Demetri." I giggled.
"Because it's true. Do you ever tire of hearing it?"
I paused a moment, pretending to think. "No."
Demetri rolled his eyes, his grin replaced by a soft smile as he looked me over. I couldn't help the blush that spread across my cheeks. Demetri may be a goofball outside of his official duties but there is also another side of him, a more protective and romantic side.
Like most of the Volturi, Demetri didn’t particularly care for humans, that is until he found me.
"It's getting late, my love. Perhaps it is time to retire." He murmured in my ear, and I looked up at him confused.
"As much as I would like that, don't you need to stay here a little longer?"
"No. I've done my duties for the night, and you are more important than any of this." He waved his hand as if he was already bored.
And perhaps he was.
I relaxed, and nodded my head, letting him lead me out of the ballroom with his hand on the small of my back. We nodded to the vampires on guard duty as we swept out into the hall, and Demetri's hand left my back to grasp my hand, lifting it to place a kiss on the back of it.
The walk back was slow and easy, both of us relishing the other's company as the night wound down. I was tired, and my feet hurt from the heels that Heidi had shoved me into. Demetri seemed to notice my predicament because before I knew it, he had swept me off my feet and continued onwards to our room.
"I can walk, you know."
"I know."
I shook my head in exasperation, too tired, and if I was being honest, lazy to fight him on it. Besides, I quite enjoyed being carried around. Although I would never breathe a word of it to Demetri, I'm sure he suspected it.
When we reached our room he sat me down on the bed carefully, kissing my forehead gently before pulling away.
"I'll go run a bath for you, darling."
Demetri disappeared, and less than a moment later I heard the bath water running.
I stood carefully, shimmying my way out of my dress, and getting ready to shuck off my heels when I heard Demetri's voice behind me.
"Did I ever tell you how good you look in just lingerie and heels?"
I turned around to find him looking me up and down with darkened eyes, his stare lingering on my red heels. I felt the hot blush rise to my cheeks, my arms wrapping around myself, embarrassed.
"I think you missed your calling, darling." He purred, stepping closer.
"Oh? And what is that?" I quirked a brow at him.
Demetri stepped closer, crowding me against the bed. His hands moved to rest on my hips as he leaned forward, his lips brushing against my ear.
"I think you should have been a model, my love." He purred, his voice dropping low. "You have a natural beauty that is unmatched."
I couldn't help but giggle. "Now you're being ridiculous, Demetri."
"Ridiculous?" He laughed softly, his grip tightening. "You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, my love. I cannot imagine my life without you."
He leaned in then, lips ghosting over mine as he tugged me close. I moaned softly, reaching up to drape my arms over his shoulders. His hands ran down my back, cupping my ass as he brought me in closer. I could feel his hardness against my stomach, and I whimpered, pressing closer.
"Your bath is almost ready, darling."
"I can think of something better than a bath. And I think you can too."
Demetri growled, his grip tightening. He kissed me then, pushing me gently backward onto the plush bed. I giggled as he took one of my ankles in his hands, and proceeded to slowly kiss his way up my leg, little by little, until he reached my thighs…
I shivered as he nosed my panties aside and his tongue flicked out, tasting me, and I gasped when his tongue slipped inside of me. I could feel his smile against my skin, and I moaned, pressing closer.
Demetri was relentless, his tongue swirling around my clit as his thumb brushed over my bundle of nerves. I could feel myself getting close, and I whimpered, arching up to meet his gaze.
Then, without warning, he pulled away, and I moaned in disappointment.
"Demetri, please."
"Patience, my love." He chuckled, his hands moving to rest on my hips as he looked up at me. "I have just begun to tease you."
"You're killing me here."
"I suppose I am." He grinned, leaning in to kiss me. "But I promise, I will make it up to you."
His deft fingers found their way into my pussy then, the coolness sending shivers through me.
He slowly stroked me, his fingers seeming to find every single spot that made me gasp. I could feel my wetness seeping out of me, coating his fingers as he fucked me slowly with his hand.
I moaned then, arching off the bed as his thumb found my clit, pressing against it, rolling it between his fingers. I could feel the orgasm building inside me yet again, and I whimpered, my hands grasping the sheets as I ground myself against his hand, willing the coil to unravel in that delicious way I was so desperate for. He chuckled, kissing me deeply, his tongue languid and slow, moving against mine in a sensual mimicry of what his fingers were doing.
"Please, Demetri." I whined, nearly writhing beneath him.
He didn't reply, choosing to increase his pace instead, his thumb flicking my clit faster. With a gasp, I came then, warmth flooding through me and I shuddered, my nails digging into his back as I rode out the waves of my orgasm.
"That's it, Y/N." He whispered. "Come for me, darling."
I collapsed against the bed then, a sated puddle of goo. Demetri chuckled; his breath warm against my skin as he kissed me slowly.
"We're not done here yet, darling."
I started to grin, but I moaned when I felt the head of his cock pressing against my entrance.
"Please, baby." I whimpered as he slowly began to press into me, stretching me to accommodate him. When I was finally spread around his cock I sighed, sinking into the bed.
"That's it, love." He groaned, his grip on my hips tightening. "God, you feel good."
I shivered, moaning as he began to thrust into me slowly, my legs automatically wrapping around his waist, my heels digging into his back. I could feel him stretching me out, rubbing against my g-spot in just the right way that had me seeing stars.
"You feel so good, Demetri." I gasped, my hands grasping his shoulders.
"I exist to give you pleasure my love." He murmured, his lips brushing against my neck. "That is all I am, that is all I have ever been."
"You give me so much more, Demetri." I breathed as he thrust into me again.
"This is everything to me, Y/N. I am yours, always."
Who knew that visiting Italy would lead to a life such as this? To finding a love like this?
I could feel Demetri nuzzling against my throat before his teeth sunk into the skin there, the sharp pain just enough to send me over the edge. I cried out, eyes widening in surprise and my walls clenching around his cock as my orgasm hit me like a freight train out of nowhere.
Demetri grunted, his hips grinding into mine as he found his release as well. His body shivered, and I could feel his breath against my throat, his tongue flicking out to lick the beads of blood that ran from the wound he had left behind.
Why was I not turning? Had he sucked the venom out without me knowing? My thoughts were running rampant before Demetri caught my attention.
"I sucked the venom out, love. Don't worry."
His grip loosened on my hips, and he pulled away, his eyes resting on me lovingly.
"Mmm. I never get tired of seeing you like this." He purred, kissing me slowly. "You are so beautiful."
"And you're biased." I murmured, smiling.
"Perhaps."
He leaned down and kissed me again before pulling away abruptly.
"Shit."
He disappeared and I sat up in confusion.
"Demetri?"
His head poked out from the bathroom door and that's when I also realized that he was still dressed. Forget turning. I furrowed my eyebrows and opened my mouth to ask him how on earth he still had clothes on when he cut me off, looking rather sheepish.
"We may have flooded our bathroom, darling."
Spider Lilies and the Sun (Alec x Reader)
A Twilight fanfiction
Author's note: Check out my blog. I take requests <3
Tumblr media
Carefully, you tried to draw the spider lilies that were lying on the wooden table in front of you. Your pencil drew a line here and there, deepening the shadows or adding a new leaf. It was difficult for you to capture the lightning appropriately on the thick parchment that you studied for a moment, drawing your head back to create some distance. To some extent you were satisfied with what you have produced so far. You have never been especially good at drawing, but somehow you have a hand for illustrating the beauty of flowers just enough to distinguish yourself from a beginner. But if you would ever reach the skills of a professional artist was hard to say… Only time could tell.
While you drew, you listened to the conversation between Heidi, Chelsea, and Corin. The three vampires were sitting on the sofas that were situated in the middle of the drawing room of the Volturi’s castle. Soft sunlight shone through the windows, and you had opened one in the corner you had isolated yourself in. The temperate late summer breeze smelled wonderful, tickling your nostrils and helping you relax.
“Have you heard that the coven in France tried to trick the Kings?” asked Heidi in her enticing voice, playing with her dark hair as her legs were swung over the armrest of the armchair that she was lounging in. Her short skirt had hiked up dangerously, but Heidi knew how to be classy without coming off as cheap. Her legs were pressed together, revealing nothing inappropriate.
Chelsea nodded vigorously, not looking up from the book she was reading. “Of course, we have heard,” she remarked. Her tone was stoic and cold, but she didn’t mean it. You had learned that she was generally nice and didn’t have any mean intentions. But that was all. You would never expect a selfless act from her. Not from any of the vampires living in Volterra. “The French coven was the reason why Aro sent the twins, Demetri, and Felix to investigate. After all, the coven’s leader claimed that they have created a newborn with extraordinary abilities. The rumor spread like wildfire and eventually reached us, the Volturi. How could it not?”
Corin snorted and shook her head in disbelief. “Turned out the coven leader boasted a little too much.”
“Right,” chimed in Heidi, chuckling. “Apparently, they wanted to bargain with the Kings and offer the newborn for a price. But said newborn didn’t possess any special abilities at all. When Demetri and Felix called to inform the Kings, they mentioned that Alec was absolutely livid.” With a knowing grin, she looked at you and caught your eye. Quickly you looked back down at your sheet, acting like that strange and yet familiar name hadn’t caught your attention. Heidi’s voice sounded insinuating when she added, “We all know that lately he has no room for unnecessary distractions that could lead him astray from the castle.”
Heat rose to your cheeks, and you couldn’t say why. Only that Alec, even just the mention of his name, induced you with extreme nervousness. And a giddiness that you had tried to suppress by distracting yourself and drinking lots of water to drown the butterflies in your stomach. Alec. He was mesmerizing, absolutely enchanting. And also the reason why you, as a human, found yourself among vampire royalty. One day you decided to take a walk and breathe fresh air. While you were walking through the forest, looking defeated at your feet because the pressure that came with your studies really got to you that day, a pair of polished, expensive shoes came into view. Surprised, you looked up, staring into the beautiful red eyes of a young man who towered over you. Considering his insatiable stare, you probably should have been afraid, but you weren’t. There was something oddly calming about the way he gazed at you and how the wheels in his head seemed to turn before they finally clicked, and his hungry stare was replaced with a deep softness. Then, black mist enveloped you, and after many hours of traveling, you found yourself in Volterra.
You had been living with the vampires for a little over three months and found it hard to adjust to your new life. You hadn’t been told why Alec brought you to Volterra, but the Kings had informed you that one day when the time was ripe, you would become one of them. You had no clue when the time would be ripe, but for now, that was unimportant.
You were glad that everyone realized that you needed a lot of space and time alone. You had your own room and designated corners – like the one in the drawing room – that were solely reserved for you. Whenever you decided to take refuge in these places, everyone knew you wanted to be left alone. Fortunately, everyone was patient with you and answered your questions whenever you had any. The vampires learned to respect your boundaries, or rather, they had known how to do that all along since they were territorial beings. In turn, you learned to respect their limits and expectations. For example, you had to stay in your chamber when they fed in the throne room or when trials were being held. During these times, the vampires were especially busy, and no one could keep an eye on you to make sure you were not becoming a snack for the lower guard.
As for Alec... you got along fine. There were moments when he seemed like he wanted to open up to you, but then he would withdraw suddenly, sitting down somewhere and watching you with a wistful expression while you read or drew. He kept you at arms-length: close enough but not too close. He didn’t want to give you away either. If anything, he was strangely possessive, and at the same time, aloof. He would be attentive one day, and the next he would pretend like you didn’t exist. It drove you insane.
Well, at the beginning it did… After some frustrating nights, when you couldn’t sleep because of his behavior, you decided it was not worth spending the energy you needed on overthinking. You would just do you, stick to yourself, and be nice to Alec when he approached you. But you would refuse to seek him out. Your pride and self-respect put you first in this confusing connection with the vampire. You had never been in love, always waiting for the right one. Of course, you met men and thought that they might be your forever person only to end up disappointed because it turned out they were only being nice to you for sexual fun. Something you never gave them. Now, Alec was a classy guy. He was the type to court respectfully, and if he wanted some fun, he would be straightforward. Nonetheless, his intentions were anything but clear to you. So, you sought stability in yourself; if he had something to say, he could always do it, but you wouldn’t run after him.
Honestly, you were glad when you heard that he would go on a mission to France. His name was playing on repeat in your head like a prayer whether he was present or not, and you did need some time to yourself to get that foolish heart of yours, which sometimes beat like you were love-struck, in check again. And so far, it had worked wondrously. In the past few days, you had barely thought about him at all.
“So,” began Corin, resuming the conversation about the French coven, “what happened to the coven? Did Alec act on his anger? Lately, he has been inclined to do so. His emotions are running high. Higher than usual.”
Heidi giggled excitedly. “Well, luckily, Felix and Demetri could talk him out of it. The coven got away with a warning. The twins, the giant, and the tracker should return today.”
Your throat constricted. You didn’t know if you really wanted to see Alec. Hopefully, he would just ignore you. But your hopes were crushed. Two hours later the door to the drawing room opened, and Alec came inside. The girls stopped talking abruptly, looking between you and the elite guard. Alec’s posture was imposing, and with one narrowed glance and a barely noticeable tilt of his head, he commanded them to leave. Sighing and voicing their discontent, Heidi, Corin, and Chelsea left. The thud of the door when it closed sounded too foreboding. You focused on your drawing - you had begun with another one, not quite satisfied with your first try.
You hoped that Alec would just sit on the sofa, but unfortunately, he drew up a chair opposite you, and you focused on the movement of your pencil, not looking up.
His voice was deep and warm when it rang out. “How have you been? Are you well?”
“I’m good,” you replied stubbornly, making it clear that you didn’t want to talk to him. But Alec did not defer. He picked up your first drawing. That was when you gazed up anxiously at him. You didn’t want him to see your art. Why? Because in a way, you depended on his validation. What if he didn’t think of your drawing as good enough? Then you would suck it up and live with it. You wouldn’t let it affect your motivation for your artistic nature though.
The corners of Alec’s mouth were raised slightly when he saw your anxious expression, knowing he got to you. But if he hadn’t been sitting so close to you, you would have thought he was wearing his typical inscrutable expression. He leaned back in his chair, crossing his legs, holding your crafted spider lily up with one hand while he examined it, and gripping the armrest with his other hand. He wasn’t wearing gloves. That was unusual… The hand on the armrest glittered as it caught the sunlight. It was the only body part of his that was exposed to the sun. He didn’t like to shine in the sunlight. When you first saw how his skin reacted to the sun, he became angry. Not with you. But with the sun, you think. You were taking a stroll through the garden together, and when you reached up to touch his cheek as it began to glow, he pushed you away and told you to leave. That hurt.
“Hmmm…” Alec hummed, nodding. “You are improving. You have a talent for drawing.” With care, he placed the paper down on the desk.
Your body betrayed you when your heart rate picked up and your cheeks flushed pink. You were beyond happy. Somehow you managed to suppress the reply – “Do you really think so?” – that was beginning to form. You bit your tongue hard.
“How was France?” you asked instead.
“I have been there many times. It was worthwhile. As always.”
“Good to hear.”
“I would like to visit it with you someday. I have been there so often that it has become a little… boring and stale. But I feel like your presence would make the atmosphere special again.”
Suspiciously, you narrowed your eyes. Here we go again with the ambiguous meanings… “What do you mean? Alec, sorry, but you have not been exactly welcoming towards me. One moment you are hot, and the other you are cold and don’t let me in. I still don’t know why you brought me to this shit hole in which I’m supposed to spend eternity. You owe me a lot of explanations.”
His eyes studied you. He contemplated long, his red orbs wandering down to your collarbone and noting how well your cropped cardigan and your high-waisted jeans fitted you. Your body was bliss to him. Your personality meant salvation. He had to come forward. He knew he was being unfair, and how could he be unjust to someone he loved?
Without warning, he pushed back his chair, creating a scraping sound, and stood up. He walked towards you, grabbing the backrest of your stool and turning it around. You were now looking up at him, and your heart stuttered as he lowered his torso, placing his hands on the armrests, caging you. His brown, thick locks fell in front of his forehead, and his red orbs bored holes into the core of your soul. You nervously played with your hands in your lap, biting your lips.
“Don’t do that,” he spoke softly, his breath fanning your face.
“What?”
“Biting your lip. You always do it when you are nervous or stressed. You have been doing it while I was gone.” He used his thumb to smooth your lips. You swallowed hard at the skin contact. “I can see little wounds.” Was that why he decided to not wear gloves? Had he been planning to initiate physical contact?
You pushed his hand away. “What do you want?”
“Fine,” he grunted, straightening himself up. “I will be blunt about it.”
“Naturally.”
“You are my mate,” he admitted. Carefully, he studied your reserved features. But you felt anything but reserved. You were elated. Finally, you found the love you had always wished for. You had envied the connection Afton and Chelsea shared, how they gazed at each other with unprecedented adoration. Often, you had watched them interacting, wondering when you could not only be loved like Afton loved Chelsea but when you could finally look as ardently at someone the way Chelsea stared at Afton. You wanted to love, too. Not just be loved. What you and Alec could have… maybe that would rival their connection and put them to shame.
“What do you think?” Alec asked, testing the waters.
“Only that it all makes sense now. My palpitating heart when you are near or how I can’t get your name out of my head.” Contemplatively, you looked up at Alec. “That’s why you brought me to Volterra. When we met in the forest, you sensed that I was your mate.”
“I did.”
You stood up, bringing your hands to his cheeks. He brought your foreheads together, and you enjoyed the coldness of his touch. On a warm summer day, there was no one you wanted to bury yourself in more passionately than Alec.
“You fear this connection as much as I do,” you whispered. “That’s why you are sometimes so aloof. You are afraid of getting hurt. So am I. And honestly, in your presence, I find it hard to think straight. It is like my emotions don’t belong to me but to you.”
“Yes. They spiral out of control, and only you, as my counterpart, can reach them. Tame them.”
“Then I will cherish them and hold them close. You have nothing to fear, Alec.”
Tentatively Alec closed the gap between the two of you, tasting your lips in a reassuring kiss. It seemed that you had nothing to fear either.
Poise
A/N: Here she is. Seriously Aro is wicked fun to write and as I told Vas (@vasiktomis) reader/MC kinda ripped the reins from my hands. Is she (as in reader/MC) a lil coo coo bananas? Yes. Did she stretch my abilities as a writer? Yes. Were there times that I agonized over a singular word choice for an embarrassing amount of time? Oh yes. A lot of firsts in this fic for me as a writer. Very proud of myself. Thanks for reading. Also I'm so unserious about Aro. No funky aesthetic gif for this one. He's simply too silly. I also post all my stuff on both Tumblr and AO3. Same handle!
Pairing: Aro Volturi x F!Reader
Words: 6.6k
Warnings: gore (consider yourself warned), implied intimate partner abuse in flashbacks, death (no major characters), arachnophobia, reader has powers having to do with nightmares and is crazy, so is Aro, it’s the Volturi you kinda know what you’re getting into
Summary: After taking matters into your own hands, you swear never to be weak a day in the rest of your eternity. The Volturi can help with that.
Tumblr media
“What I am left wondering is why you have suddenly found yourself in want of membership to the Volturi. You denied us quite emphatically those many years ago.”
“I was under a year into my immortality, Caius. You must forgive the blunders of my youth.”
Indeed, that many years ago you had declined their invitation. But that was when you still had your youthful fire about you. In so many years you had traded it in for temperance.
Still Caius narrowed his eyes from the platform. Only two of those splendiferous thrones were occupied at the moment -- a naked helm. Heidi had assured you that Aro was well on his way. That had been 3 minutes ago when Caius had decided to put you on trial for no other reason than him not being present.
Marcus watched on with those ancient eyes. They must have always looked old, you thought to yourself. You couldn’t imagine Marcus’ eyes looking any younger than time itself. And Caius’ eyes -- well… Very well. You’d let him enjoy this silly little power trip. There was something of a cruel smile lifting the edge of his lip.
“I have the time to hold a grudge.”
“Have you nothing better to do with eternity than harbor petty anger? My, my, you truly do not play well with others.” Your eyes drifted to Marcus. “Have you nothing to say, old friend?”
“We are hardly old friends.”
You rolled your eyes, settling your attention back to Caius. “If you’ll excuse me, I shall speak no more until Aro arrives.”
“Why? Are you frightened?” He taunted. Bait, that’s all it was…
“Are you?”
The doors behind you swung open heavily, like a final breath. Four sets of heeled shoes struck the marble. You did not turn even as Jane and Alec walked close on either side of you, like eels as they glided up the platform standing in the background.
Heidi didn’t even so much as brush past you to go out a side door. It was an unusual occurrence to demand entrance into the Volturi especially when a previous invitation had been so rudely turned down. You were certain a number of the vampires along the walls with you were there simply to see what demise would befall you for such insolence.
The fourth set of boots slowly walked up to the direct back of you. There was no body heat to speak for Aro but you knew it was him. The eyes of all the people in the room suddenly on you could not mean anything else.
“Did you receive a warm welcome?” His voice hit the back of your head and it was no louder than a lover whispering their intentions.
You straightened, your eyes piercing Caius where he stood. “Something like that.”
Aro finished the pace around you. “You are very brave to have come here.” His eyes scanned the walls. He was looking to see if it was true that you had come alone.
“I was hoping it might be rewarded.”
“Hope…” He tasted the word. “Now that’s a word I have not heard in a good while.”
Half of a smile spread across your face. “You’re welcome.”
“Hm.” Aro looked you up and down, amused, before continuing his path to his throne. The three men on the platform finally sat. “And I… well, perhaps I should not assume a thing. Why don’t you tell me why you are here?”
The blonde vampire stole the silence from you. You couldn’t help but think that the angelic color was wasted on him. He would be blonde. “Foolish girl, she’s changed her mind!”
“Caius, I did ask her to tell, did I not?” Aro only dignified the man with a slight turn of his head. He set his jaw and sunk back into his throne a little. Aro’s hand gestured for you to continue.
“It is true,” you responded. As much as it pained you to soothe Caius’ temper via agreeability you were not above it especially now. “I would like to petition for entry to the Volturi.”
The laugh of all the vampires in the room made it all the more funny, you supposed. Even Marcus’ perpetually morose eyes tilted up as he chuckled.
Aro only smiled. “Now my dear…”
“I am aware of my past petulence-”
“Ooh, that was not petulence,” he corrected you, leaning forward. “Petulence is far too generous. You were rude.”
You gulped. It was true. You had been rude those 200 years ago. Very rude.
Aro continued. “I believe you said… what were the words you used…?”
Marcus cleared his throat. “Allow me. ‘The Volturi are a semblance of order. Their actions are a colossal mimicry of law and the leaders are just as big of fools for as long as they stand if they believe that their offers of entry are anything more than an identification of spinelessness in the subject if they accept such a thing.’” Curse him for his memory. “Something like that.”
His really good memory.
The helmsman of the Volturi raised his brows at that. “Your recollection is pristine, Marcus. My goodness, such scathing words… I had forgotten.”
“‘Go to hell, you greedy fucks’ too,” Caius added, that hint of a cruel smile earlier was now a complete grin. “Can’t forget that either.”
“That last one was not me actually.” A glower from the blonde vampire. “My sire, rest his soul-” I hope he is eternally suffering, “-should be properly credited for that.”
There was a chuckle from all three on the platform, even Jane smiled a little. Although it was better than how you had begun it still was not a good sign.
“Yes, rest his soul.” Aro tilted his chin up. “Whatever did happen to him?”
A test. Aro knew what had happened. Everyone in the room knew what had happened. Or they knew a version. “My coven at the time… handled him and went our separate ways.”
It was not a lie.
“Yes, I suppose you did handle it.” Aro remarked. “It was startling to hear about, just like that, ripped limb from limb by your coven.” He didn’t trust you. Why would he?
You swept up the steps before him and wordlessly knelt, reaching a hand up. A young woman reaching her hand up to a young man, both centuries old. Jane and Alec stepped forward in warning, flanking Aro’s throne. Your eyes flitted between them. An impasse. Still you kept your hand outstretched to Aro who had taken a small step forward in your approach. Your eyes landed back on him. Please.
Aro regarded you coolly; it was colored by something else though. Intrigue. Curiosity. Hunger. The last time Aro had read you had been 200 years ago; you had so much less control then. You remembered him snatching his hands away from yours as your nightmares, or rather his, had sloppily tumbled toward him while he flitted through your memory. Two horrible truths slamming into one another -- a mutual bruise, the two of you. Your talents were similar, all thing considered.
“You can look,” you whispered up at him. “I am better at this now.”
Something of a warm smile dawned on him, if indeed Aro could ever be described as warm, as he crouched down. His red, milky eyes bore into yours and then, gently, one of his hands tucked under your palm and the other covered your knuckles. You bridled the lightning fast nightmares as the man pushed forward.
Just like the first time it had happened, it felt like nothing more than the pad of a thumb releasing held pages as they rushed for the cover of a book. Aro flicked through two centuries of life in ten seconds, his eyes darting between yours as he passively consumed.
The story had to begin with the truth that covens did not turn on each other. In technicality it was not that it had turned on itself -- just all against the self-declared leader who held all of you in a vice-like grip. You refused to even give him his name in your memory, yet another way to kill him back in a way that truly mattered.
His inclinations of you showing abilities upon your turning were unfortunately well-guessed. You cursed your sire for the rest of your days for his early but ultimately rare stroke of clairvoyance. With time you would learn that he was no stranger to fear as a weapon either.
Aro pushed forward, unreadably neutral. The memory of the first time you ever used your abilities somersaulted through your consciousness. You had gone well beyond the bounds of the perimeter that had been set for you by your captor. It was direct disobedience to your sire’s orders and the vampire passing through never saw it coming. The spooking they had done you was a complete accident. Their intentions to take the human body you were feeding on, however, were undeniably loaded with malice.
You had only intended to shoot them a glare but something about the tense moment, about them approaching you with a hand reaching out to what was in yours… that’s what started it. You heard it first, an impossibly low thunder like something far beneath the earth pushing its way up; they heard it too. Your crouch was something feral when you did it and the nightmares that crashed into that poor vampire tumbled into your mind too. To that though you were a spectator, privy to the innermost workings of what horrified that particular individual.
Tense shoulders, a talon-like grip taking control of your hands, a furrowed brow. Your eyes snapped shut; while the nightmares were never your personal bane they hardly offered any comfort. You saw it all. It would be the first of many in the coming eternity.
Their shrinking hands slashing and clawing through phantom blood, unable to cup it, unable to consume any of it in a vicious bout of craving. Frantically pressing themselves into the ground as the endless blood on the ground began draining into the soil. They were withering by the second. It didn’t matter to the vampire that it was utterly ridiculous.
The vampire before you, the real version, collapsed to the ground; you heard it, like a snare cutting through reverberating bass. You didn’t open your eyes until their breath came out in pants, as if they were suffocating on too much air. And it stopped. Just like that. An end to the focus ending their nightmare.
Aro cocked his head, continuing to read you. In hindsight, you wished you had cut and run right then. You would have had a head start. Your sire wouldn’t have caught you in the few moments he had made the mistake of leaving you alone. From that moment on, he forced you to be at his side. You remembered the berating you had gotten for your disobedience that followed after his wide-eyed realization that you could do what you had done to the weeping vampire.
With that, you became the prize of the coven; it was your abilities that afforded your sire his longevity. He made you play with his food sometimes; asking what you saw as you screwed your eyes shut. You told yourself it was from the effort. In truth it was not any harder than flicking down a wooden block had been in your mortal youth.
No, you strained with the wretched knowledge that the only thing you really had a knack for was holding out a mirror. The beastly things you saw -- what frightened the most deplorable of individuals. It was sick; in every horrid vision you churned out, you saw the inner workings of the mind, of the filthy things that these monsters had done in their conscious lives. The worst thing about your abilities was that the most frequent nightmare you bore witness to was them getting what they had deserved. Revenge. Balance. Order. Justice.
It was true. Yours and Aro’s gifts weren’t really that different. You saw a lot, possibly too much of whoever had the poor luck of encountering your proficiencies.
And, oh, how your sire had loved your gift. It was precious, he said. You recalled a time he had even called it artistry. It was after you used it, after you saw the depravity of human and vampire kind that he cradled your head between his heavy hands. You learned to savor the moments where he wasn’t throwing them around. And during those times when you deeply pleased him by what you were able to do, you saw him bloat with the intoxication of power. It would be many years until you really used your gift but it took little guesswork to know then what he feared: the loss of control -- the loss of you. Motivated by pride he kept turning others, stopping at the fifth of your covenmates when he realized that he had really only lucked out on his first try -- also, you.
That was when you had been initially approached. Your sire had never once received so much as a greeting from the Volturi; he never let you forget how bitter it made him. Unfortunately, his hold on you also included passing down his opinion. By the time the Volturi got to you, you had been spoiled against them. Only time would truly tell whether you would be forgiven for it.
At this moment, though his red eyes were set on you, Aro wasn’t really looking though -- not the present-you anyways. It was subtle, the way his brows and lips fluttered up and down as if fighting his own desire to respond. His expression sobered briefly.
You had spent centuries with the man, your sire… he was brutal. Even you were not immune to his rage. Each of your covenmates were strong in their own rights but none of you were singularly stronger than him. The Volturi’s arrival and immediate departure was one of the worst days of your life. You remembered holding one of your sisters, the sixth, the youngest, after it all. She begged you to stay and endure with her. And for two hundred years the two of you, all of you kept that promise to each other.
It had been one too many cruel moments when the dam broke. It was the moment that all of you realized that while you were too individually weak, he couldn’t handle all of you. You did the honors of the inaugural blow -- undoing him with nightmares of his own demise as it came to fruition. It was the only time in all of your years of using your abilities that you hadn’t clenched your eyes shut and shrunk away. No, that time… that time you had leaned forward, eyes unblinking as you watched him writhe in fear before what was left of him was instead writhing in pain. It was easy, like dropping a heavy bucket with little care of what happened to its contents.
As Aro dug, it was only then that you realized you smiled when you’d done it. It was funny, you supposed, that your sire’s worst fear had come to pass right as it transpired just moments before in his mind. The six of you, your five covenmates and yourself, tore him to shreds. No blood that you had tasted or would ever taste compared to the delicious freedom of his eternal rest. He died, truly died, afraid. He deserved worse.
It was short-lived though. After centuries of subjugation, the sudden freedom was a blessing and a curse and not a single one of you could really agree on what to do except to leave. It was devastating in the same way you would see the final struggle of a living thing fighting off its final moments before succumbing; they were certainly in a better place. Two of them went on their own. The other three traveled together elsewhere. At the end of it you found yourself alone and not wanting to be weak again a day in your life.
While the rebellion had been justified, it was an overthrow of power, something especially dangerous in the halls of Volterra and you had been the ring leader. After all, you were the only one in the group with a talent.
Aro rose to his feet, gently tugging you up with him. “Now that does complicate the narrative, doesn’t it…”
Your eyes flickered to Caius who was in turn staring him down. “Oh, come off it, Aro. You are not honestly considering letting her in.” He stalked up to where the two of you were standing. You looked up at both of the men, still a step below. “The Volturi do not give second chances!”
“If I may, I am not asking for a second chance.” Bold… This was bold of you… “I am petitioning for membership on the grounds that it was offered once before. Your opinions of me have not changed since the initial offer.”
“Yes, they have.” Caius spat.
“Mine haven’t,” Aro confirmed. “Although I wouldn’t be so sure that is a good thing.”
Bright red eyes bore down as you finally pulled your hand from his grasp. His fingertips brushed along your knuckles before his hands lowered in kind. Him looking through your mind just moments prior felt less invasive. You directed your attention instead to the less intense of the two.
“We should have killed you the second you walked in here.”
Very well. “If it is an apology you want I will give it.” Your eyes were locked on Caius, pure impudence meeting unbridled sadism. You knew it drove him crazy.
“Foolish girl-!”
“I am sorry!” You snapped at him. The words came out more like ‘shut up.’ They were just as effective though. Caius stood silent although the sneer was still on his face. Of course that would do it for him. You knew it. It was disgusting. Oh, how he loved seeing people grovel. The hate in that man’s heart…
You suddenly remembered yourself. Aro had seen that -- your distaste for Caius, your willingness to do anything to be a member of the Volturi, your deep regret that your sire had influenced you to be so brash. That was one of the worst things your sire ever did: convincing you that his opinions were yours.
“I will repeat to you what I said to you earlier. Forgive me for the insolence of my early days. It was unwise of me to have behaved in such a way… and-” You were practically choking on your apology, uselessly panting with the effort. Admittance that you were wrong had a bad mouthfeel, especially after decades being forced to do it. “-and I was wrong about all of it. Consider me corrected.”
If Caius had been biting back any of his cruel amusement before, he certainly wasn’t hiding it now. Marcus was now standing closer having meandered nearer during the course of the apology. And Aro… Aro had the most curious of soft smiles on his face.
You were beginning to think you had made some kind of mistake coming here. You had laid almost all your cards bare. You had shown them you were desperate which was far worse than just being desperate. This was something you were going to have to amend for a good while if they accepted you. That you begged to be let in.
“I am satisfied,” Caius remarked, eyes settling on Aro. They were standing over you, all three of them.
Some days ago you had come across a rat moments before it was devoured by three street dogs in an alleyway on your journey to Volterra. It must have looked like something like this to that rather unfortunate vermin, you thought to yourself.
Your head dropped in complete and utter humility, eyes only on the marble underfoot. Even the pristine stone was too good for you… You had been at the mercy of the three men before you since you set foot in this dreadful place. It was only at that premature moment you still had an ounce of pride in your body. It was far gone now.
“Marcus?”
“I am satisfied.”
“As am I.” Cold smooth fingers tucked under your chin. Aro’s. You must have looked something pitiful. “And this-” Aro tutted at you, lifting your face up. “-we will work on this.”
The gesture might have been kind, intimate even, if it was anyone but Aro. You didn’t really trust him as far as you could throw him but you knew enough in having seen his nightmares many years ago that he would not tolerate an ounce of self-deprecation in a vampire beyond paying their due respects to the Volturi, to him. He had seen quite enough from you. That much was true.
“Yes… sir?” You tested the title. You weren’t quite sure what to refer to him as.
Aro’s face took on something of a delighted expression. “Look at you using your manners. See, Caius; she learns.” The blonde vampire rolled his eyes. “I do appreciate it but ‘Aro’ will do just fine.”
Ah. Well, that was embarrassing. You nodded affirmatively. Marcus’ eyes flicked from Aro to you and back before he returned to his seat. Out of the corner of your eye you saw Jane smile something wicked.
“We shall get you new attire, especially now that you will be joining the guard after some fine-tuning, but there’s no sense in putting you in anything of the sort since we’re coming up on-” The side doors swung open and Heidi led in a group of tourists who were guffawing at the ceiling. Aro’s hands flew up like a child prince being brought an expensive present. In a sense, it was -- “-dinnertime!”
Oh, so this was how they fed. Aro steered you to the side and behind him with a hand clamped around your upper arm. Heidi sidled up to you.
“Welcome to the Volturi.”
“How did you know?”
“You are still in one piece.” Fair.
Aro leaned over to you. “Now, next time you will join your compatriots along the wall but tonight we will make an exception -- something of a welcome gift…” He extended his arm to the group of mortals before you who were clicking pictures of the room. Like fish in a bucket… or however the expression went.
You raised a brow at him.
“You first, my dear.”
A vampire along the wall by the name of Felix bobbed on his feet, antsy. You smiled and launched off the platform for the human before you. The both of you rolled together as you slammed him into the ground. Only his limbs flailed clumsily. Yours had been a vision of centuries of practice. A trained killer.
You bared your teeth. He screamed. Humans…
Tumblr media
Wandering aimlessly about the grounds, such expansive ones at that and with such independence, was novel to you. You weren’t entirely sure what to do with yourself; it was beautiful. Just months ago you had been sequestered to your corner of the world, never to go beyond a painfully small perimeter. And now here you were… surrounded by the most powerful of your kind. Nearly unrestricted access to the grounds. New clothes. Fresh blood, not whatever your sire didn’t finish. Eyes never black with hunger. The respect you got as a tentative member of the Volturi guard. It was new.
And the Italian air. Sure, you didn’t really need to breathe at all. There wasn’t a function to smelling it. But the air… The breeze in Volterra was something fresh, warm, earthy, sweet, like blood. It was even more perfumy at night.
Something about the years of being on edge, even as an immortal, still ran through your veins, through the very way you functioned. Even in your most relaxed moments, you could recognize when you were being followed. And someone was following you.
You stopped in your tracks, only peering over your shoulder.
A fraction of you thought to yourself -- how odd… Aro should’ve been better at this. Then you realized two things. The first was that if Aro was truly aiming for discretion in whatever he was about to do, there was no reason for it to be him here and now. The second was that it was also entirely possible that Aro simply didn’t care that you knew he was there… or, in fact, did want you to know. Your curiosity was a helpless one; you must’ve looked like a cat.
“I was wondering when you were going to catch on.”
Only the trees in the garden obscured him from you, not the darkness. “How did I do?”
Silence as he rounded the corner. Black suit. Red eyes. Dark hair slicked back. You let him approach until he was a pace away, slowly continuing. “Ten seconds before you caught me… there are a good many vampires who would have gone much longer if noticing me at all.”
“Will you subtract a moment or two since I contemplated not acknowledging you?”
“Hearsay.”
“Only if you have the ability to corroborate and don’t.” You held your hand out to the side toward him, stopping in your tracks.
Aro only looked at it from the side of his eye, not even stopping. He did grace you with a smile though. “I should like to keep my victory unnegotiated.”
Ah, yes… the cat walking next to whatever you could call it that killed it. You closed the distance with a few long strides, now playing catch up with him. “You were loud.”
“I was not aiming for stealth.” If Aro was trying to humble you, it was working.
“And what was your target then?”
Silence again. It was comfortable. In time you came upon your favorite spot in the gardens — the point at which you could overlook the better portion of the town. It was beautiful -- quiet and empty for the most part at this time of night but the evidence of mortality there, living and dying… well, you still found it charming.
“Would now be the appropriate time to thank you?”
“For heaven's what?”
“For…” You finally looked at him beside you. He wasn’t looking at you; perhaps he was gazing beyond this little enclave in Tuscany. “For your hospitality.”
“Hospitality is for guests.”
“I was a guest for a small while.”
“You were more of a defendant.”
“Well, then, I thank you for your arbitration.”
“My ‘arbitration’?”
“Yes.”
Aro exhaled for the show of it. “Do stop your simpering and get on with what you mean.”
You were speechless.
“I didn’t say ‘shut up,’ did I?”
You blinked at him. “I suppose… I am grateful to be somewhere nicer.”
“I can hardly be thanked for your decision to come here.” He still refused to regard you. You imagined it was a rare thing for Aro to resist such expressions of the kind. He was a proud man after all. You looked back out at Volterra.
Aro finally turned his eyes to you. It was a withering look. Now that you obliged. “I saw quite a bit in that mind of yours. It is such a shame that you were thoroughly convinced of such horrible things.”
You were confused. “The only thing that I was convinced of was inferiority.”
“Like I said,” he snipped. “Horrible things.”
“Now how is that horrible,” you inquired. Surely this did not bother him personally. Aro did not strike you as the type. “I do you no injury in my lack of pride.”
“And you think it is good for the Volturi’s reputation, for the guard’s reputation to have but one who thinks themselves lesser than even humans?” Aro seemed to shudder at the ‘h word.’
Oh. There it was. He was right. Your head lowered.
He tilted your chin up for the second time. It wasn’t as gentle. This time it was a scolding. Aro was not pleased. He released it looking back onto the town. “And you must stop that. It’s unbecoming.”
It was lost on you how to respond. “Sorry.”
“Already forgiven, my dear.”
“I guess… I just want to thank you for taking a chance.”
Aro scoffed and looked at you fully. He wasn’t a tall man; his height was hardly what made him intimidating. What made him intimidating was the stature with which he carried himself, the raw power, the hunger, the intelligence. A man like him hadn’t gotten to where he was without some impressive cunning.
“I might find low esteem from my subordinates satisfactory on the usual occasion. I will not mince my words -- on you it is a most distasteful thing. I will forgive its ugliness for its reaffirmation but only for a time.”
If there was any functional air in your lungs, it would’ve been snatched from you. His words were not harshly spoken nor were they loudly boomed at you. Instead they broke skin like something sharp to vulnerable flesh. Aro took an imposing step forward. You took one back but it wasn’t enough. Your neck was craned up at him despite every inner instinct to shrink away; you wouldn’t dare disobey him again. You weren’t sure he would be as kind.
“There is nothing so abhorrent as one of our kind — our superior, beautiful kind — acting in the embarrassing way you continue to. If I was capable of emptying my stomach at the thought, I would.” Aro plucked something minute off your shoulder before rolling it between his long fingers and discarding it to the wind. “And as far as taking a chance is concerned, I- The Volturi- do not ‘take chances.’ Make no mistake, there is no calculated risk with you being here.”
“I-”
“If that is an apology or another meaningless expression of gratitude poised on your tongue, I would advise that you hold it there.”
You could only gape up at him. He was leaning over you still, very close.
“You will show the full extent of your gifts tomorrow. I want you officially in the guard as soon as possible.” And with that, Aro was gone, stalking away into the gardens.
Tumblr media
With about 12 hours to ruminate on Aro’s words to you, you had decided that he had a flair for melodrama. You also decided definitively that you would never let him know such a thing unless he pried the information from you, which he was indeed capable of. This… what you were being made to do before the Volturi… You would not define it with such levity. When Aro had said that you were to display the full extent of your gifts, he had meant it.
It wasn’t certain whether it was you or the man writhing on the ground that was the subject of the gripping fear that your nightmares brought, what with your upper body being curled in on itself the way it was. Your fingers were curled at the ends of your locked arms with effort. The unfortunate human’s whimpers rattled along the domed ceiling, merely an accessory to the deep hum in your ears.
There was an exaggerated yawn from behind you — showy for a vampire — Jane’s. And a voice cut through the whole of it, halting your powers immediately. “No, no. That won’t do at all.”
Because you had already been shrinking away at the time of the interruption you needed only to open your eyes. The body thudded to the floor. Relief. It wouldn’t last. Aro was shaking his head as he leaned against his throne.
“You, my dear-” he pushed off his spot and stopped just behind you “-are holding back.”
The man, as far as you could tell, was only deeply phobic of spiders. It was how you had done it the dozens of times you’d done it before. Except for…
Out of the corner of your eye, Caius held a finger to his temple, rolling his eyes. Asshole… Aro’s voice pulled you back. “Try again.”
You clenched your eyes shut, your chest coiling up in kind. The man began wheezing almost instantaneously, the only sound in the room.
“No.” Aro cut in once again and you dropped focus. You turned to face him, your muscles loosening in the way that only annoyance could make them. His red eyes glimmered back at you. “That is not what I meant. Again.”
You huffed. You’ve done it once before, his face seemed to say. Who were you kidding… that was exactly what his sharp features said. When you had channeled that much power, you had been in an entirely different state of mind. That had been the raw rage you had buckled behind survival. All you had done was suddenly unleash it. You weren’t certain that you still had it in you. “Aro. I can’t-”
“Ah, ah, ah.” Nonsense. His hand straightened to a point — the human, once more.
You faced more of your body, still tense, eyes clamping shut. Your arms locked to your sides and you willed the fear forward before you tensed — thunder in your ears. Your muscles reacted in pure instinct, the man weeping in perfect time. Despite the overwhelming physical sensation of pushing the abstract forward, you could feel Aro behind you. It was stronger this time.
Oh, the man wasn’t just afraid of spiders.
Between the spiders, flickering amidst the impossible number of angular legs and blinking sets of eyes, the insects that dribbled into every corner of his vision, there was something else. A girl with one dark eye and a knife. She was young.
You jolted backward, knocking briefly against Aro. If he minded he didn’t indicate any such sentiment. Your lip curled into a sneer. The human… he was pleading with a higher power that was certainly not listening if it was there at all. Pathetic.
When your eyelids closed this time they didn’t tighten. It was a flutter. And this time when your muscles tensed, you trembled. Where there was air between the clawed fingers at your side, you imagined the man’s fleshy neck. This… this was righteous. The girl began closing in, spiders skittering out of her path.
Aro’s voice brushed your ear. “May I?” You nodded your head, although you weren’t certain as to what exactly you were agreeing to. Aro would not harm you; you were sure of it.
It felt like a baptism. In a way it was. Feather light, Aro’s fingers ghosted first at the base of your neck, gently pulling the muscles out to your shoulders. In the touch you were acutely aware that it wasn’t intimacy that Aro was after; he was honing you. Your nightmares were only encouraged.
Aro’s hands smoothed over your shoulders with a quiet mastery -- tender in the way a sculptor guided pliable clay between their fingers as it spun at their behest. The harshness was gone with but a swipe.
The man bellowed. He sounded now more of a screeching animal than man. The girl picked up her pace, almost a jog. The knife winked at him.
It turned into a full grasp as Aro traveled down your biceps, tugging the astriction out. He chased the natural form of the muscle down your elbows into the joint of your wrist. The rigidity in your fingers released at the pressure he placed there -- conjoined in poise.
You pushed a stronger assault of terror forward to meet the man. Long gone were the spiders. There was a small part of you that recognized that he wished for the insects instead of the young girl with a bruise ready to bury the knife in his chest, his stomach, anywhere the business end would find purchase. She was standing over him.
He screamed. Yes, ‘scream’ was the right word for it…
You spectated his nightmare; the girl with the dark eye had already started plunging her blade into him. Again. Again. Again. Again.
Aro’s hands shed themselves from your arms but only for a moment. Your chin bloomed with the familiar feeling of his fingers, turning it and angling it upright. Proud as it was meant to be.
He whispered again. “Look.” It was a gruesome sight.
The possibility that the man had begun gouging out his own eyes the moment Aro had begun amending your posture was a good one. If that was the case he had indeed made decent progress. The man was on his knees and his left eye hung from its socket like a generous helping of hot cheese, swinging. You almost wanted to applaud the man’s zeal. Only a desperate rodent would have done what he had. His grubby fingers pushed into his own skull again, getting around the other eye, bemoaning his self-inflicted plight. He seemed to be chewing the air. There was viscera on the marble -- not the first time it had been so defiled and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
Still, you didn’t relent; you had never extended your power this far. God, why hadn’t you done it before… Sure, you- no, he had taken his eyes but somehow it wasn’t enough. The young girl brandishing the blood-soaked knife was still angry. This was justice. And he hadn’t yet paid in full.
He howled, writhing.
Marcus approached at the very edge of your vision. “Aro… is this-?”
He was halted by an upheld hand, the other slowly falling from your chin. Aro watched you as you watched the man, watched his nightmares.
“We needn’t toy any longer.”
The thunder in your ears rumbled to silence. “This is toying? If you saw what I saw, you’d know…”
Marcus seemed taken aback. You weren’t sure if it was because of how true your words were or how right they sounded coming from your mouth.
You drifted back to the man. “He deserves it.” Your voice came out no louder than a whisper.
“It’s alright, Marcus. We asked for an assessment-” The ensuing squelch and sudden cry indicated the man had found success on his second endeavor. “-and we have indeed received one.”
You found Aro’s eyes with yours.
There was something of an assuaged smile -- his bright teeth wolfish. The feeling of your cheeks pulled up was the only sign to yourself that you had been smiling. You took the moment to look about the room. Caius was staring at the man on the floor, mouth slightly ajar.
“Well?”
He turned his head first then his eyes. A grin.
You beheld the grotesque body with a sneer. He hadn’t even had the decency to look artful as he went -- his body held upright by the leverage of his spine against his heels. Pathetic. The way he dug at his own face like that… like you were some tumor, something he could just rip out of himself if he tried hard enough and be done with. He died as stupid as he looked. Your chest flared at the offense.
Aro was still standing near you. “Par excellence.”
You digested his words. You understood now. This was what he had known you were capable of. In just moments, Aro had cured you of your affliction, the debilitation of timidity. You matched his smile.
“Would now be the appropriate time to thank you?”
It was met with a giddy laugh. Aro clapped his hands together, utterly delighted at your words, your smile. He gulped it down and stepped backward offering you an expressive bow complete with arms outstretched. “No ‘thanks’ necessary. You… you are a credit to our kind.”
You bobbed your head in courteous reply to his own bow, unable to hide your giggle.
“You were never anything but.”
The moment you stepped into the castle you were enveloped by two thin but strong arms. „I’m so glad you’re back!“, Heidi smiled at you and you almost got a little emotional when you realized you started having real friends here, even while still being human. „We were only gone for a week“, you laughed and the both of you followed Felix as he carried your luggage to your room, „but I’m glad to be back too.“
„What did I miss?“, you started ascending the stairs to your floor. „Not much“, Heidi answered, „oh we have a new secretary.“ You grimaced a little, knowing exactly what that meant. „But tell me about Switzerland!“, she tried to change the topic, stepping into yours and Felix room after you.
„I’ll let the masters know we’re back safe amore mio“, Felix smiled, kissing your cheek softly and closing the door behind him on the way out. Heidi pulled you to the couch and you know what the look she gave you meant. „It was great“, you grinned a little flustered, and judging by her smirk she knew exactly what you meant.
„So you said yes? And he said yes too?“, she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at the end making you giggle. „Yes I did and yes he did…multiple times“, you grinned and showed her the ring and she smiled, „did you know he was going to propose?“ She rolled her eyes dramatically and put your hand back down. „Everyone knew, he couldn’t shut up about it with Demetri and naturally everyone heard“, she laughed and you shook your head in amusement.
„Can you do me a favor Heidi?“, you made sure the door was shut before telling her. „Of course, you okay?“, she looked a little concerned. „I have been feeling kind of weird the last few days, don’t know maybe I caught the flu or something but I don’t want Felix to worry. Could you run to the pharmacy for me later? Felix would for sure freak out if he would come buying medicine with me“, you rolled your eyes and she giggled at the thought of the big bad executioner fussing over his sick mate.
„Yeah sure, I need to meet Aro in ten minutes but after that, I’ll run to the pharmacy for you!“, she got up and squeezed your shoulder. „Thanks a lot“, you nodded. „Of course, make sure you rest a little!“, she grinned before she was gone. Sighing you sank into the sofa, finally being able to not act as if you are perfectly well. You hadn’t been able to sleep very the last days. Your stomach being a little upset and you carefully rubbed it when you noticed it was acting up again.
You thought it would go away, but suddenly you felt the bile rise in your throat and jumped up, thankfully making it to the toilet in time. Shit, you probably really caught the flu or ate something bad, damn. After brushing your teeth, you laid down on the couch, spotting your bag and you decided to check your phone. There hadn’t been any reception up in the mountains and you didn’t take it out on the way here. Maybe your cousin had some news about her honeymoon.
And damn she seemed to have a lot to say, you had several missed calls not only from her but the whole Cullen family and about a billion text messages. ‚Call me as fast as you can!‘ Now you were seriously worried. You immediately sat back up and called her, your heart speeding up at all the horrible scenarios running through your mind. „(Y/N)? Thank god you finally called back!“, she sounded exhausted and extremely worried.
„Yeah we were on vacation and I didn’t…Bella is everything alright? You okay?“, you asked with a frown on your face. „Yes and no…are you alone? Can anyone hear you?“, she asked and you were wondering what the hell was going on. „Yes I’m alone! Can you please tell me what’s going on?“, you were getting antsy. „Okay before I tell you I need to ask you something“, she was still being ominous, and you could hear some rustling before Edwards voice came through the phone.
„What she’s trying to ask is: Have you and Felix been having sex?“, you were momentarily stunned by the annoyed and cold edge Edwards voice had, wondering what the hell was going on in Forks. And you were also stunned by the question itself. „Uhm…what?“, you stuttered around uncertainly. „(Y/N)“, Edward had a sense of urgency in his voice that gave you the chills, „answer the question.“
„Yeah we had sex last week“, you blushed furiously but told him nonetheless. God this was weird. „Shit“, he cursed and there was rustling again. „(Y/N) this is Carlisle“, yet another voice came through the phone and you were freaking out. „Carlisle what the hell is going on here“, your voice was shaking and you were anxiously grabbing onto the pillow in your lap. „Have you been feeling sick the past few days?“, he asked and your heart sank. How could he possibly know that.
„Yes“, you whispered, not being able to form more words. „Okay I need you to listen to me carefully right now“, he started and the more he explained the paler you got.
————————
After you hung up with the Cullens you sat in silence for a few minutes trying to calm your racing heart. Pregnant? You still couldn’t wrap your head around how this could’ve possibly happened. Vampires weren’t supposed to be able to procreate. But from what you were told, a very pregnant Bella and a possibly pregnant You were the evidence. And it didn’t seem to be a safe and easy pregnancy either.
Taking a deep breath you reminded yourself that you couldn’t even be sure if you actually were pregnant too, Carlisle told you to ask one of the Vampires in the coven to listen for a heartbeat - or get a pregnancy test, but that would take longer. But who on earth would you ask? You knew Felix and you knew that if he would find out how dangerous the pregnancy would be, he would probably want you to get rid of the baby, he would never risk your life.
But you weren’t sure that’s what you wanted. You had always wanted a family, but after meeting and falling for Felix you knew that wasn’t an option so you had accepted that, content with it just being the two of you for eternity. Actually having a real opportunity to have a child with him now? It felt more like a miracle than the curse Carlisle described it as. And considering Bella didn’t get rid of her baby either, she seemed to think the same.
So you needed to have someone on your side before telling Felix, and the one person that came to mind right now was Heidi. Hopefully you could catch her before she left for the pharmacy - you probably didn’t need the flu medication anymore anyway. Trying to calm your racing heart and trembling hands, you slowly stood up and stepped out into the corridor.
Your mind was racing with all the things that could and probably would happen in the next few days, while simultaneously trying to find Heidi in the maze this castle was. But that train of thought was suddenly interrupted when you encountered Jane. You two weren’t crazy close, but she was nicer to you than to most other people. „(Y/N)? You don’t look good, are you alright?“, she asked and you knew if it was bad enough for her to pick up on, it was bad.
„I’m-“, you started but your voice gave in and you could feel her grip your arm and lead you to a room nearby, sitting you down on the couch there. „Do you want me to get water or something?“, she asked, clearly unsure of how to handle a human that seems sick. „No, no it’s fine…Jane can you do me a favor?“, you needed to know if you were pregnant, you couldn’t wait for Heidi.
„Sure“, she nodded, but she seemed a little perplexed. „Jane I…got a call from Bella earlier“, you started, not really sure how to explain this situation. Jane just looked at you in a way that said she couldn’t give less fucks about your cousin. „Bella is pregnant, and before you say something“, you stopped her when she openend her mouth, „the Cullens are one hundred percent sure it’s Edwards. Trust me I asked that.“
„But that’s not possible“, she said after a few moments. „I thought so too, but the way Carlisle and Edward talked about it convinced me…I mean that and I experience…“, you took a deep breath, „I experience the same symptoms Bella did in the beginning.“ Jane stared at you blankly for a few moments.
„You’re pregnant? And it’s Felix’s?“, she asked when she managed to wrap her head around what was happening. „I actually don’t know yet and that’s why I’ve asked you for a favor…Jane can you hear a second heartbeat?“, you reluctantly asked, you would label the both of you as something close to friends, but you still weren’t sure how this would play out.
She stared at you with those deep red eyes for a moment longer before they dropped to your stomach and she concentrated. „There is a second heartbeat“, she announced after a few moments, her normally cold and controlled mask cracking a little in shock and wonder. You on the other hand didn’t know how to feel, you were happy on one side and excited but also scared shitless of this dangerous pregnancy and the reactions of the others.
„Shit“, you mumbled, a hand automatically resting on your still flat stomach. „This is crazy“, Jane said, taking an unnecessary breath. „Jane, can you…I need someone to be on my side“, you whispered, „Carlisle told me if I want to keep this baby, it will be a dangerous pregnancy. They didn’t give me too much details but they said Bella isn’t doing well and if I am pregnant I should go to Forks as fast as possible.“
Jane always picking up on more than you thought, knew what you meant. „You think he will want you to get rid of the baby“, she stated and you nodded meekly. „I just need someone to back me up“, you admitted already stressed about telling Felix. „You’re my friend, of course I will be on your side“, she told you and you smiled when she said you were friends. „Thanks Jane“, you squeezed her cold hand for a moment before sighing.
„We should probably tell Heidi too, and let her know she doesn’t have to go to the pharmacy for me - it’s not the flu after all“, you told Jane and she agreed. The two of you thought it would be best that she’d go searching for Heidi and you would wait for Felix in your room - gathering the courage to tell him what you thought was a blessing, and what you anticipated he would think of as a curse.
—————————
„Mia cara, forgive me for taking so long“, you winced a little when he suddenly appeared in the room. The smile you gave him didn’t seem to convince him, because he sat down next to you with an unhappy frown. „What’s wrong?“, he pulled you into his arms, so you were sitting next to him in his embrace. And for the first time since you accepted your bond, you weren’t entirely sure this was the best place to be for telling news with the seriousness of yours.
You gently kissed his jaw, his arms pulling you into him a little tighter and you took a deep breath. „Felix there’s something I have to tell you“, you started and he brushed some hair out of your face in concern, listening intently. „You know you can tell me everything“, he reassured you, taking your hand and kissing it softly.
“I got a call from Bella”, you said with a shaky voice, “and…no one knows how, but…but she’s pregnant.” The confusion on his face was obvious. “It’s Edwards”, you added, and he shook his head in denial. “What? Edward can’t…”, he started, but the serious look in your eyes made him pause, “it’s not…it’s not possible. It can’t be…right?”
You were silent for another moment, giving him the time to process it. “Carlisle doesn’t know how, but he is sure that Bella is carrying Edwards child”, you whispered, the arm that embraced you was tense, and Felix face was frozen. He seemed to realize where you were going, his eyes wandering to your stomach in shock.
The silence was palpable for a few moments, before he closed his eyes and took a deep, unnecessary breath. “You’re…”, he stopped, not able to make his mouth form the word. “Pregnant”, you finished, unsure what he would think. He didn’t even know the pregnancy would be incredibly dangerous, but maybe he didn’t want a child at all. He gave up on that millennia ago, and what if he didn’t even like kids? God, you were a nervous wreck.
“Say something”, you pleaded, your nerves slowly getting the best of you, your eyes filling with tears. He opened his eyes when you spoke, his hand immediately cradling your cheek when he saw your wet eyes. “I’m sorry amore, it’s just…a lot to wrap my head around”, he sighed, kissing your forehead in comfort, “for two millennia I haven’t thought about ever…” He let the sentence hang in the air.
“I’m…suprised, but I’m happy”, he smiled a little and seemed less tense, but when you didn’t match his positive reaction, instead looking guilty, he frowned again. “There’s more”, he realized, his expression sobering up in a second and he went rigid again, “tell me.” You sighed, closing your eyes for a second before biting the bullet. “Bella’s really…sick”, your voice was quiet, but you were sure he heard you anyway, “they wouldn’t tell me exactly what’s going on, but they…”, you broke off, swallowing dryly.
“Tell me”, he urged you worriedly, the crease between his brows marring his otherwise perfect face. You were speechless, not knowing how to tell him or how he would react. Your silence seemed to imply how bad it really was. “Tell. Me.”, his eyes got darker and his voice deeper, his anger and fear of losing you obvious. “They said she might not make it”, you whispered, and that seemed to be the last straw, because suddenly he wasn’t next to you anymore, and the coffee table was thrown against the opposite wall, breaking into a thousand pieces.
Your tears finally spilled over, and quicker than you could see Heidi and Jane were standing in the room between you and Felix. “You need to calm down Felix”, Heidi told him, your angry mate throwing around more furniture in rage, making you gasp. “Felix!”, Janes sharp voice cut through the room, “you’re scaring her.”
That made him pause, his back to you, but he was still incredibly upset. “We need to tell the masters as soon as possible, so we can get her to the Cullens - she needs Carlisle”, Heidi tried to rationalize and Felix seemed to agree. “Yes you’re right, he needs to get rid of the baby”, his voice had an edge to it you hadn’t heard before and you shivered.
“Felix wait, please”, you finally found your voice again, still upset that this has played out exactly as bad as you thought it would. “What’s there to wait for? We need to get you to Forks”, he didn’t meet your eyes, didn’t even turn in your direction. “Felix I…I want to keep the baby”, you whispered, kind off glad that Jane and Heidi were there.
It was silent for a moment, and then he turned around, the pain in his eyes when he met your teary gaze, made your heart hurt. “I won’t lose you”, his voice was firm, his eyes hard and then he was gone. “That couldn’t have gone any worse”, you sighed, sinking back into the couch and hoping for the best.
—————————
When you arrived in the throne room, it seemed the kings and everyone else in the guard were already informed by Felix - considering the way they were eyeing you suspiciously. You were glad for Heidi and Jane walking next to you. “Dear (Y/N)”, Aro was grinning the way he always did when he was excited, “we heard rather impossible news.”
“It’s true”, you said, your voice shaky and you were sure the vampires could see that you had cried previously, “Carlisle told me Bella is in the same condition, just further along, and Jane and Heidi confirmed I’m…pregnant.” It felt weird saying it out loud infront of them. The kings, Felix, Demetri, Alec, Santiago and Renata were there and you felt exposed.
“Yes, we can hear the heartbeat”, Caius seemed unhappy, “but that doesn’t confirm it is fathered by Felix.” That moment was the only time you wished Aro could read your thoughts, just to confirm your were telling the truth. “I didn’t…I would never…”, you couldn’t even say it, much less ever do it. You would never cheat on Felix. “Now, now Caius. Don’t accuse her of something like that”, Aro tutted and smiled at you, which wasn’t really comforting. Felix was standing next to Demetri with a stoic look on his face.
“Let me call Carlisle, hear what he is saying. And you should go pack already”, Aro announced, “We will take the jet in the evening, Demetri, Jane, Alec, Santiago and myself will come.” You just nodded, the nausea from the pregnancy, the fight with your mate and the whole situation just exhausted you. Heidi grabbed your elbow to guide you to your room, when suddenly Marcus spoke up. “I will come too”, his voice as unused and emotionless as always, but it cut through the air like a knife and made everybody go still. “Alright. Caius will stay here, and manage everything”, Aro agreed after a moment of surprise.
You were wondering briefly why Marcus wanted to come, but Heidi was already stirring you away from the scene, probably to help you pack. She knew you were in no condition to do that. Felix stayed behind, and maybe it was better to give the situation some rest.
He watched you leave the room, his face a stoic mask, but his thoughts all over the place in panic. He couldn’t lose you, he only just found you. He was sure it was his child you were pregnant with, he trusted you and wasn’t the least bit worried you cheated. And while the thought of you carrying his child made him excited, the risk it brought killed the joy in his heart instantly. “What is it Felix?”, Aro saw the way his eyes were looking at you in pain rather than joy.
Felix turned around after a moment, not being able to say it out loud, say how you could die if you decided to keep the baby. So he held his hand out for Aro to take, the mind reading vampire not hesitating. “That’s rather unfortunate”, Aro sighed and Felix squeezed his eyes shut in agony for a moment, “it seems that if our dear (Y/N) decides to keep the baby, it is quiet possible that she will not make it.” Demetris face fell a little, feeling worried about his best friend - and about you, who had also become dear to him.
——————————
You were sunk into a big chair in the jet, hiding in the corner of the cabin. The others were at the front, just Jane sitting with you. You were trying to let the constant humming of the machine lull you to sleep, but you weren’t feeling your best and you were missing your mate. You didn’t want to pressure him, and you did understand why he was so angry, but you still missed him.
You had had such a perfect honeymoon and now that bubble had burst, you thought with a few silent tears running down your face, staring out the airplane window. It was mostly dark in the cabin, so you were confident no one saw your tears, but Jane gently grabbed your hand, squeezing it reassuringly. You looked over a little blushing, and your breath hitched when you saw Felix standing there.
Your eyes jumped to Jane who smiled a little, letting go of your hand and giving her seat to Felix, who sat down next to you silently. He was carrying a blanket, and lifted up the armrest seperating the both of you, before spreading the blanket and finally meeting your eyes in expectation. New tears welled up in your eyes when you realized he wanted you in his arms, the thought of him still trying to make sure you’re okay even while being angry with you made you even more sure this mate thing definitely picked the right one for you.
You gently scooted over into his embrace, and he immediately wrapped you in the blanket, pulling you tightly into his chest, your head in his neck and you felt like you could finally relax your tense muscles. There were no words exchanged between you too, you knew he was still angry, but you also knew he loved you. That was enough for now.
——————————
It felt weird, driving through the once familiar town that you left behind. You would’ve thought that it would ignite some kind of longing or sadness, but the only thing you felt was fondness for the memories you made there, happy with your new life in Italy. You were sitting next to Felix, who was still holding your hand but you two hadn’t talked since your fight in Volterra. God, you hoped Carlisle had news for you that helped you calm your mate down.
The car turned onto the familiar sideroad to the Cullen house and eventhough you knew Bella was really weak, you were still happy to see everyone again. Felix helped you out of the car, the others already standing neatly organized and perfectly still infront of the house. He protectively wrapped an arm around your waist and wanted to lead you to the others, but the door opening stopped you.
“Alice!”, you smiled and walked up to the door before anyone could try to stop you, your mate grumbling unhappily behind you. “(Y/N)”, you could tell she was nervous because of the Volturi, but she greeted you warmly anyway, embracing you before Carlisle joined her at the entry.
Suddenly Aro was standing next to you, Alice pulling you to the side gently. “Hello Aro, it’s been a while”, Carlisle greeted his old acquaintance with a polite smile.
“Carlisle”, Aro nodded and held out his hand immediately, making Carlisle reach out without hesitation. “So it’s true”, Aro was in awe, looking between the two Cullens with wide eyes. “It is”, Alice said a little coldly, your eyes meeting your mates, who looked even unhappier.
Felix didn’t like the way you were standing so far away from him, his protective instincts dialed up even more now that you were carrying his child - he still couldn’t believe it, his child. “Why don’t you come inside, there is a lot we need to talk about”, Carlisle stepped aside to let them in and Felix suddenly smelled the Shapeshifter. He was at your side in an instant, holding your waist possessively.
“There’s one of the dogs”, Demetri growled in his stead, the others not looking to happy either, except Marcus who looked as lethargic as ever. “Jacob’s here?”, you were surprised, after Bella married Edward it seemed that he wouldn’t be willing to stick around anymore. “Yes, there is some trouble with the pack and he decided to…stand up for Bella”, Carlisle led you up the stairs and into the big living room, where Rosalie and Jake were blocking your view of Bella.
The other Cullens were also standing in the room, greeting you with a smile. “(Y/N)?”, a weak Bella asked from behind her guards who reluctantly stepped aside when she asked them to. You tried to hide your shock behind a soft smile, approaching your Cousin and sitting next to her carefully.
She looked like death to be honest, and from glancing at the Volturi they were nearly as shocked as you. Felix looked pained and you knew it was because of what he thought would happen to you too. “I missed you”, you said, instead of asking her how she was - which would’ve been a stupid question. “Missed you too”, she smiled a little, taking your hand in hers, “I’m glad you’re here.”
“Would you follow me into my office?”, Carlisle interrupted the moment and you squeezed Bella’s hand once more before standing up again and followed the Volturi into Carlisle’s study, catching a glimpse of a tortured looking Edward in the corner. So he blamed himself too, just like Felix. Your mate was once again holding your waist, as if leaving you out of his sight would make you disappear.
Once the door was closed and everyone was settled, Carlisle started to explain what they knew, which wasn’t much. “We didn’t know it could happen, but it did. And we still don’t know much more, neither the ultrasound nor needles or anything else can penetrate the uterus safely. We only know it grows rapidly, draining Bella. It is already stronger than any human - It’s breaking her ribs. Just two days ago we had the idea that it probably needs blood, which Bella is drinking and it helps a bit, but she’s already too far for it to make any real difference. She’s so weak and the fetus so strong that we don’t know if she will make it - I’m not sure the venom could save her.”
The grip Felix had on you was tense and rigid, the silence in the room deafening. “This is all very extraordinary”, Marcus said and you couldn’t even really be shocked by him being the first one to say anything. “I’m glad you got here so quick. If you want to keep the baby I hope starting to drink blood immediately will help, because in theory the fetus won’t drain you as much. But if you don’t want to-“, Carlisle added, but you interrupted him.
“I want to keep it”, you said, you were sure it would be alright if you started with the blood early. This was your only chance to have a baby of your own, you would regret it forever if you didn’t try. This was your choice, a choice every woman should have and you would decide to keep the baby.
„Okay“, Carlilse looked a little pitying, nodding and stating that he needed to at least examine you, even if the ultrasound couldn’t show anything. So you followed him to another room, Felix only following you when you looked at him with a questioning look. You felt horrible for being the reason for his tortured expression.
After feeling your abdomen and asking a few questions, Carlilse gave Felix and you a moment alone, telling you to come to the kitchen after to get a cup of blood. God, that sounded so weird. „Say something, tell me what you’re thinking“, you whispered gripping his hand gently. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath.
„I did this to you“, he finally answered, making your heart hurt. „You didn’t do anything to me Felix. It takes two people, and I know you don’t see it that way right now…but this seems more like a miracle than a curse“, you spoke quietly, not wanting this to turn into a fight again. „You’re right, this isn’t a curse, it’s worse. I’m going to lose you (Y/N)“, you were sure if he could cry he would, and you pressed your hand to his cheek.
„You won’t, okay? If I started drinking blood right away, I won’t get as bad as Bella, and I can make it“, you reassured him. „I hope you’re right mia cara…I hope you’re right“, he sighed and pulled you into his arms. „You…you won’t leave right?“, you whispered, just because you wanted to keep the baby doesn’t mean you weren’t scared, and you needed him to be with you through this.
He pulled back with a look of shock on his face. „(Y/N) I would never leave you. You’re my mate, my wife, I love you and nothing will ever change that. I might not agree with your decision entirely - don’t get me wrong having a child with you would be great if it wasn’t for the high risk - but I will stand with you through it all Love“, he promised making you just nod and bury your head in his chest. „I love you too“, you whispered, his cold lips leaving a soft kiss on your head.
————————————
Carlilse handed you the cup of blood and you eyed it warily, Bella already drinking hers, but most of the vampires in the room (the ones that could handle the blood) were watching your reaction. Felix was sitting next to you, Demetri trying to hide his humorous expression and Jane and Alec looking at you with genuine curiosity. They had never seen a human drink blood before, and even the Masters and Santiago were intrigued.
This was so weird, drinking blood that came out of someone else gave you a quirky feeling your stomach, but before you could think too much about it, you took a sip and forced down the gulp of cold thick liquid. It tasted really metallic and you were shocked at how easily Bella could drink that, maybe because she was further along in her pregnancy.
„That’s…disgusting“, you grimaced and looked at your cousin, a few of the vampires chuckling, „how can you drink that?“ It was more a rhetoric question, your cousin rolling her eyes with a smile before continuing her drink. You thought for a moment, before deciding the best plan of action. „Okay I’m gonna pretend I’m at a party and have to chug this“, you took of the lid, the deep red liquid sloshing inside the cup and took a deep breath, before chugging the cup in record time.
„That was…impressive“, Demetri grinned, and you wiped the corners of your mouth, shuddering a little because of the aftertaste. „How do you know how to chug like that? You’re not even 21 yet“, Felix asked, Bella and you exchanging looks and giggling quietly. „How do you feel (Y/N)?“, Carlilse asked, fondly rolling his eyes at you and Bella, and gave you a once over. „Not much different“, you shrugged and suppressed a yawn. The time difference was making you tired, it would’ve been the middle of the night already in Volterra.
„You need some sleep amore“, Felix brushed a piece of your hair back before taking your hand and pulling you up. „Alright“, you yawned, „Good night!“ Bella waved and Rosalie helped her up too, she needed all the rest she could get.
——————————
It was chaos. The pack didn’t back down from the fight even with the Volturi there. You pleaded with them not to kill the Pack and were now holding Bella’s hand who was in Labour, with a broken spine. All of this looked like something straight out of a horror movie. Because Aro, Marcus, Jane and Alec were out hunting with Carlilse and Esme, you were a bit understaffed and now Alice and Rosalie couldn’t handle the blood and had to go. So it was only Edward, Jacob and you left - Felix, Demetri and Santiago fighting outside.
You just hoped Felix was alright, but your thoughts were interrupted, when Edward tore open Bella’s stomach, holding a small baby in his arms. Like, an actual cute little baby - and you were partly relieved that there wasn’t something weird growing inside of you. The baby started screaming and Edward smiled, a rare sight these days. „It’s Renesmee“, he told Bella, and you gently and excitedly squeezed her hand. You were an aunt, you thought with a smile.
„Beautiful“, Bella whispered, and Edward carefully placed the baby in her fragile arms, so that she could hold her daughter. But suddenly it seemed like the vampire part of the baby came through, and she bit Bella with her small teeth, making Jacob worry and Edward take Renesmee back.
And then she stopped moving. „Bella?“, Jacob was immediately at her other side. „Bella!“, you shook her shoulder, willing her to move, but she didn’t and your heart dropped to your already slightly rounded stomach. „Bella!“, Jacob called out, starting CPR and you let go of her hand in horror. What if she really didn’t make it? You hadn’t even seriously entertained the possibility of her dying - or, for a matter of fact, you. You thought Edward could save her with her venom, but maybe this situation was too bad already.
„Jacob, take the baby“, Edward looked panicked, the helplessness radiating off of him. „Keep that away from me“, Jacob seethed, continuing compressions and you snapped out of your stupor. „I’ll take her“, you whispered but Edward heard you nonetheless. „Don’t worry I’ll watch the teeth“, you reassured him and took your niece out of his arms, and settled her in yours.
You saw him take out a big needle filled with what was probably his venom, and left the room before you saw him ram it into Bella’s heart. Your heart couldn’t take seeing your cousin like that, and your niece needed you. You sat down in a chair in the living room, trying your best to clean the cute baby with the towel she was wrapped in, before taking the blanket from the couch and gently wrapping her in it.
She seemed more comfortable now, her crying stopping and her pretty brown eyes staring up at you. She didn’t try to bite you, but you were still careful while stroking her small nose. „I really hope your mommy makes it baby“, you sighed, refusing to fall into grief just yet, maybe she would make it.
——————————
„He really imprinted on her?“, Felix looked a bit weirded out when you were finally laying in bed in the early morning hours. „It’s how it works with the pack“, you shrugged cuddling further into him and hugging the warm water bottle close to you that canceled out his cold. Now that you were pregnant you seemed more sensitive to temperature.
„Mhm“, he was in thought, absentmindedly stroking your ever growing belly and you couldn’t help but smile. It seemed like drinking a lot of blood early on really helped, Carlilse said you were way healthier than Bella was at this point. „Can you still hear her heartbeat?“, you asked, and you had to give him that - eventhough you asked about the twentieth time since you layed down - he still answered you nicely.
„Yes“, he whispered, kissing the top of your head, when suddenly the baby moved. „Woah“, you were wide awake again, pressing a hand to your belly, and feeling another movement. „Did you feel that?“, you were looking at Felix with wide eyes and he matched your expression. „That’s…our baby“, he said quietly, looking at your stomach, his big cold hand covering it. „Yeah“, you sighed with a smile, settling down into his embrace again as gently kissing his neck.
„I never thought I would ever…get the chance to have children“, he admitted, and you laid down your smaller hand on top of his bigger one, urging him to continue. „If the blood is helping you stay healthy, and this isn’t going to be as bad as Bella and I risk losing you, I…I can see why you think it is a miracle“, he whispered, hope shimmering in his previously pained eyes. You said nothing, pulling him closer and kissing him softly, and praying that your cousin would make it.
Matt was 17 years old when he was turned, collateral damage after two vampires killed his parents and him, or so they thought. Matt had woken up alone and scared and had run into Carlisle outside Fork’s General Hospital. Carlisle explained to him that he was a vampire and that was the reason why he was craving blood. “If you want to stay in the area, you will need to be better at hunting and disposing of your meal or you’ll attract the attention of the Volturi and that won’t end well for you” “Who are the Volturi?” Matt asked “They are the governing body of our world and while there are not many rules to follow but they are enforced, so it’s best to learn them and stay under their radar.” “Ok, thank you for telling me and for the advice” Matt replied as he and Carlisle walked towards Carlisle’s car.
Carlisle took Matt home with him and he and Esme informed Matt all about vampires, their laws and that they were vegetarian by feeding on animals. Matt understood the rules and was aware of the treaty and although he gained self-control around humans rather quickly, he still craved the human blood diet after sticking to the vegetarian diet for a year. After a long talk Esme, Carlisle and Matt left things in an amicable way before he left to go to Volterra, wanting to meet the Kings and learn more about this new world.
Matt was accepted into the guard as Caius was impressed with Matt’s curiosity of the Volturi, their laws and the fact that he chose the traditional vampire diet over the unconventional vegetarian diet. ‘Caius 1 – Carlisle 0’ He thought to himself with a smile.
The Kings had allowed Matt to go to college and as a result he ended up being chosen as part of the foreign exchange programme, where he and a human girl would swap homes for twelve weeks. The Kings were not entirely convinced it was a good idea but Matt pleaded his case as he would be in Seattle, which meant his secret was less likely to be exposed due to the wet and cold weather. “I have enough self-control not to eat the human family I’d be staying with, not to mention Carlisle Cullen is only a short running distance from where I’ll be if I need help or anything. Also, I’m sure that the guards here can help you keep our secret from the human girl.” The Kings nodded “Very true and it was Carlisle who helped you get control in the first place despite not being your sire. We will do everything we can to ensure she doesn’t learn of our secret so she can return home at the end of her stay” Matt nodded as Marcus spoke “As we are allowing you to take part in this programme you must check in with us regularly” Caius added and Matt nodded as he replied “I understand and thank you masters.”
Marcus’ wing had an empty room that wasn’t being used for anything and so he offered it to be used by Y/N for the duration of her stay. Due to Marcus’ good level of self-control around humans his brothers did not question this generous offer. “The girl will be safer in my wing of the castle than in one of the guest rooms on the lower floors” “Agreed brother” Aro replied with a smile.
Heidi and Chelsea redecorated the room and made it a little more modern as it hadn’t been touched for centuries. The walls were painted a soft grey and a pair of silver and white curtains hung over the balcony doors. The bathroom was painted cream and new towels and flannels were bought along with new bedspreads, one was grey with soft pink flowers, one was cream with grey stripes and the last was pale pink with silver swirls. A large cream and grey fluffy rug was placed in front of the fireplace and Chelsea got Afton to put up some shelves so she could put some books in the room, thus giving Y/N something to do when she wasn’t doing schoolwork.
Y/N arrived in Volterra mid-November ready to spend twelve weeks with her ‘new’ family whilst Matt had gone to stay with her family courtesy of the foreign exchange programme. Santiago and Chelsea went to collect Y/N from the airport. Chelsea held up the sign with Y/N’s name on and watched as she made their way towards them with a small smile ‘nerves I bet’ Chelsea thought to herself. “Hello Y/N I’m Chelsea and this is Santiago, it’s very nice to meet you” “It’s nice to meet you too” Y/N replied.
Although the Volturi were prepared for a human to stay with them for twelve weeks, nothing prepared them for what happened on her first night at the castle.
Once back at the castle Chelsea took Y/N to the throne room to meet Aro and Caius whilst Santiago took her luggage up to her room. Santiago knocked on the door to Marcus’ private study and was greeted by Demetri, Marcus’ personal guard. “Evening Santiago, everything ok?” “Evening Demetri and yes everything’s ok. I just wanted to let Marcus know that Y/N has arrived and is in the throne room being introduced to Aro and Caius” Santiago replied. “Lovely, we’ll come down to meet her” Marcus called out softly as he rose from his desk and made his way to the door.
The atmosphere in the throne changed the moment Marcus and Demetri entered the throne room. Demetri felt a new tenor reaching out to him, no calling to him and he realised almost instantly who the new tenor belonged to as Y/N was the only new person in the room. “Ahh brother you’re back. Come meet Y/N” Aro says with a smile and Marcus makes his way up to his throne, Demetri following him but stopping beside Y/N, turning to look at her “Y/N meet Demetri, he’s one of the elite guards and Marcus’ bodyguard” Aro says pointing at Demetri. Y/N turns to look at the person standing next to her and her breath catches in her throat unable to speak. Marcus smiles knowingly and taps Aro’s shoulder as he holds out his other hand.
“Hello Y/N, it’s nice to meet you” Demetri says with a smile “It-It’s nice to meet you too” She replies looking up at him with a small smile of her own. “Well, our secret will need to be shared now” Aro said low to Marcus who nodded. Caius’ gaze went from his brothers to Demetri and Y/N and back again and then it clicked. He stood from his throne and approached his brothers “Are they mates brother?” He asked low looking at Marcus, who nodded. “That’ll make the next twelve weeks a little easier round here” Caius replied. “Y/N, I’d like you to meet my brother Marcus” Aro said, gaining her attention. Y/N turned to face the Kings and smiled at Marcus “It’s nice to meet you” “And you my dear” He replied smiling before turning to Demetri and giving him a knowing smile and a nod. “Demetri, please show Y/N to her room, she must want to rest after her long flight. I’ll meet you back in my study shortly” Marcus said softly “Yes master” Demetri replied and turned to face Y/N “If you want to follow me” She nodded and followed him, thanking him for holding the throne room door open for her.
Demetri pointed out things about the castle along the way, like how old certain paintings or tapestries were. He even showed her the three suits of armour but neglected to mention they were worn by the Kings during the fourteenth century after Aro saw humans wearing them in battle and thought it’d be fun to wear them in mock battles / training sessions in the castle gardens. He chuckled low at the memory.
“This is the West wing and this your room. You share the wing with Marcus” Demetri said as he opened the door for her. “Thank you for showing me to my room” She smiled at up him, oh how he loved her smile already. Demetri resisted the urge to pick her up and carry her to his room, fighting his instincts to have her close to him where he could protect her. “You’re welcome Y/N, goodnight” “Goodnight Demetri.” He closed the door behind him and made his way to Marcus’ study, wanting nothing to more than to talk with the King and have him confirm that Y/N really is his mate.
“Ah Demetri, I trust Y/N is settled into her room” Marcus said as the tracker entered his study “Yes, she is…” “What’s on your mind?” Marcus asked “I like her, I mean really like her. I want her close to me, want to protect her but I don’t dare believe I’m lucky enough to call her my mate” Demetri replied “Well believe me, she is your mate and you have our blessing to tell her about mates, vampires and our world. Also we are giving you two weeks off so you can get to know her initially without your duties getting in the way” Demetri’s mouth fell open in shock and Marcus laughed “Take a seat, I’m guessing you have questions” Demetri nodded and sat in the chair opposite Marcus. “Thank you for the time off it’s appreciated and yes I do have a few questions” Marcus nodded for him to continue “How would you suggest I tell her we’re mates; I mean I only met her an hour ago and yet I’m already drawn to her? How do I tell her that vampires really exist and that we survive on human blood without scaring her? How do I tell her that all I want to do is to be near her, hold her, protect her?” Marcus chuckled again “Let’s answer them one at a time” Demetri nodded and waited for Marcus to speak again.
“Firstly, I suggest that tomorrow you give her a proper tour of the castle and the grounds and introduce her to Gianna. Whilst doing this ask her questions about herself, her likes, dislikes, hobbies etc and she will no doubt answer you and ask you those things in return, thus you getting to know one another without any pressure. Secondly, tell her about vampires including that we have soulmates, be sure to mention that we only get one in our lifetime and mates are to be loved and protected forever. Also tell her about our diet but make sure you tell her she is safe with us, that no harm will befall her. Gianna will also be proof that she is safe. We can give her a history lesson once she’s been here a while. Thirdly, tell her that she is your mate, remind her of your previous conversation about mates, about the fact you will be protective of her whether she be human or vampire. Just to clarify only step one is to be executed tomorrow.” Demetri nodded “Step two can be done the day after and step three can be done after a month, this will have given her time to get to know you and come to trust you” “Thank you for your advice, truly. Please forgive me for asking this as I know it probably goes without saying but please keep her safe whilst she’s here sharing your wing…until I am able to have her with me in my quarters” “No forgiveness needed dear boy. I would have been disappointed in you if you hadn’t asked me to keep her safe” Marcus replied “Really?” “Yes, really. I know I said before she arrived that she’d be safe here with me but things have changed, she is your mate, your one true love and I would expect you to want her to be kept safe both with and without your presence” “Thank you again master, I am very grateful.” Marcus nodded and they sat in a comfortable silence for a bit as they both digested this evening’s revelation.
The following morning Demetri knocked on Y/N’s door with a tray of food. “Good morning Y/N, I have bought you breakfast” “Good morning Demetri, thank you that’s really kind of you” She smiled and stepped back allowing him to enter her room. “Heidi and Chelsea did a good job with the room” He mused aloud and she nodded “I like the colour scheme; it suits the room don’t you think?” He nodded and smiled at her “It does yes, who thought grey, pink and cream would be such a good combination.”
Y/N ate her breakfast as Demetri read one of the books from the shelves. “I thought I would give you a proper tour of the castle and the grounds, what do you think?” “I’d like that, thank you” She replied and smiled at him again. ‘I hope she still smiles at me tomorrow when I tell her vampires exist, that I’m a vampire, that everyone here is a vampire, excluding Gianna’ He thought to himself, his own smile fading a little.
As he gave her a tour off the castle they spoke about their favourite things, their hobbies and she asked about his job at the castle. Demetri found it very easy to talk to her despite the noticeable age gap between them, although Y/N was unaware of his true age. He discovered that he and his mate had lots in common and the few differences they had would only make life more interesting as the years went on.
Demetri took Y/N out into the garden and showed her over to the Queen’s prized Roses and took a seat on the bench there. “Y/N there are a few things we need to discuss” “Ok, I’m listening” She replied and turned to face him. “I need you to hear me out before you react and please know you are safe here. I promise” “O-ok” She moved back on the bench a little and he could tell that she seemed a little nervous now and he cursed himself for being the reason. He took a deep unneeded breath before speaking. “I am a vampire, everyone here in the castle are vampires with the exception of Gianna. She is human, the same as you.” Y/N laughed thinking he was joking with her but he didn’t smile or laugh along with her. “You’re not joking, are you?” “No, Y/N I’m not” He replied and watched for her reaction “You said to hear you out and to know that I am safe here, what else do I need to know?” He could tell from her voice and the change in her posture that she was unsure if she wanted to know the answer. “Vampires are immortal and we survive by drinking blood. Myself and my family survive on the traditional diet of human blood…” He noticed Y/N’s eyes widen and he quickly but gently took her hand in his, letting his thumbs rub soothing circles on her hand. “…You are safe here remember, just as Gianna is. Noone at the castle will harm you and your parents are safe with Matt too” “My-my parents. They-they have a vampire living with them…I-I need to tell them…” “You can’t tell them Y/N. The existence of vampires must be kept a secret” “But-but you’ve told me” “That’s because there’s an entire castle full of us, how long do you think it would be until one of them let slip our secret. Matt has good self-control around humans and we have friends in the area who are vegetarian if he needs help in regards to hunting…” “Friends in the area? You mean I’ve been living near vampires and not known it?” She asked cutting him off, shock clearly showing on her face and he nodded “Yes…” “Wait. Hold up. You said your friends were vegetarian. How can vampires be vegetarian?” She cut him off again and he chuckled “They are vegetarian because they feed on the blood of animals instead of humans.” Y/N’s mouth fell open slightly in shock.
A few moments of silence settled between them as she tried to understand what Demetri had just told her. “Are you ok Y/N?” His voice low, concern etched onto his face “I-I think so. It-it’s a lot to take in you know. I mean I thought vampires were characters from literature but it turns out you’re walking around amongst us humans and we don’t even know it” “I can understand that. It was a big shock when I found out about vampires after I was turned” He replied “Can I ask how long you’ve been a vampire? Unless that’s rude to ask then don’t worry” He chuckled again, finding her curiosity endearing “It’s not rude to ask and I’ve been a vampire for over a 1000 years now” “WOW!” She was clearly shocked by his answer “Well you don’t look that old, you’ve aged well Demetri” She complimented him and if he could have blushed, he would have. “Thank you, Y/N. Vampires are frozen at the age they were, when they are turned” “Oh, well that makes sense I suppose. How old were you when you became immortal?” “I was 21 at the time” “Ah I see, that explains why you look so good for your age” Again, if he could have blushed his cheeks would be rosy “You look very good for your age too Y/N” He replied with a smile and her cheeks took on a light blush at his words.
“Is there anything else I need to know about vampires?” “Yes, actually quite a bit but some of it can wait for another day” He replied and watched as she moved a little closer to him “Can you tell me the stuff that can’t wait for another day?” He smiled and nodded at her, pleased she was taking the news well. “Vampires have mates, soulmates to be exact and we only get one mate in our lifetime…” She nodded in understanding as he continued speaking “…Mates are very precious to one another and are loved and protected for forever.” “Forever is such a long time, what would happen if you fell out of love with one another?” “It doesn’t happen darling. Mates are for life, for eternity really. That’s why we only get one. If we lose our mate, we never get over it. Sadness, loneliness and eventually a deep depression befalls us. I’ve known a few vampires who have lost their mate and they have dealt with it differently” Y/N shifted a little closer and rested her other hand on his “The idea of soulmates sounds so romantic, to be loved and cherished forever would be every girl’s dream…and boy’s I’m sure…” He chuckled lightly as she added the last bit hurriedly “…But the consequences that befall your kind if you lose a mate sound horrible, unbearable even” “It is. Marcus lost his mate long before I joined the family and he hasn’t got over it but then the love the two of them shared was very deep, from what I have been told.” Y/N’s eyes became glassy “Poor Marcus. I can’t believe he has to spend the rest of his existence alone” Demetri hesitantly wiped away the lone tear that fell down her cheek ‘Bless her kind heart and soul’ he thought to himself, a small smile settled on his face.
Over the course of the week Y/N spent time with Demetri and they got to know one another better. He gave her a tour of the city on a cloudy day, wanting to show her what the city had to offer. “Why can we only leave the castle on a cloudy day?” “Because despite what literature would have you believe Vampires do not burn in sunlight and turn to ash…we sparkle” Y/N’s face broke into a wide smile and couldn’t help giggling “I’m being serious Y/N, I sparkle in sunlight and if we had left the castle yesterday I would have exposed my kind and I would have been punished severely” He replied and she stopped laughing, noticing a serious look settling on his face. “How severely are we talking?” “Dismemberment and thrown in the dungeon for a few decades, a century maybe…at least or…” “Or what?” “Death. I would be torn apart and the pieces burnt. Burning us is the only way to kill us” The shock that crossed her face and the hurt look in her eyes told him that she felt something for him, he just couldn’t say what that something was.
That evening Felix stopped by for a visit and terrified Y/N when his booming voice sounded behind her. “Hello little human. You smell delicious” Y/N jumped, a scream left her lips and Demetri was by her side in a flash, growling at Felix. “FELIX! REALLY?” He turned his back to his friend, placing his hands gently on her arms and rubbing them gently to calm her “Y/N it’s ok, Felix is my friend and that was his way of saying hello…” She nodded as she placed her hands on his arms “…He’s not the brightest of vampires at times” “HEY! I resent that D” Felix called back before slowly stepping into the room and approaching Y/N and Demetri. “I am sorry I scared you…but you do smell delicious by the way…” “FELIX!” “…But I would never harm you. I promise” He added with a smile and watched as Y/N nodded slowly “Hello Felix” Her voice soft and quiet. Demetri wanted to hit his friend for scaring his mate, but neither Felix nor Y/N knew what she was to him yet and so he took an unneeded breath and counted to ten in his head.
Later that night Demetri paid Felix a visit to his room “We need to talk” “Hello to you D” Felix replied sarcastically “Hello Fe” “What would you like to talk to me about?” “Y/N is my mate and although she doesn’t know it yet, I won’t stand for anyone scaring her or harming her…” Demetri stepped closer to Felix and poked his chest as he continued to speak “…And.that.includes.you” “Ok D. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare her and you know I’d never hurt her…your mate or not, she’s under the King’s protection for as long as she’s here” “I’m aware of that Fe…” Demetri couldn’t help growling at his friend as he continued to talk “…But she’s mine and I will protect her forever” Felix took a step back “Relax D. She’s safe with me and I’ll protect her too. I promise” Demetri nodded “Thank you” “You’re welcome and if you’ve finished growling at me, how about a game of cards?” Felix asked, his tone light. Demetri chuckled “Sounds good.”
Y/N went to Demetri’s room, curious to check out his book collection as he had mentioned he had a few bookcases in his room full of different genres. “It’s a like a mini library, I could stay here all day and read” She said over her shoulder, a light chuckle escaping her. “Then why don’t you? Spend the day in here with me…I mean?” He asked, his voice got lower as he spoke suddenly feeling a little unsure of himself. She turned to face him with a big smile on her face “Really? You don’t mind?” Demetri chuckled “I wouldn’t have asked if I did darling” She nodded and sat on the sofa with a book and watched as Demetri added a few logs to the fire before joining her on the sofa with a book of his own, pleased he got to spend another day alone with his mate.
Y/N had been at the castle for about a month and had become close friends with Demetri and Heidi. Felix still made her a little nervous although she tried hard to not show it. Alec and Jane were polite to her whenever they saw her but they were not ready to take the next step of befriending her. Demetri was ok with this for now as it meant he go to spend more time with her, something that he greatly enjoyed and appreciated. “So…when are you going to tell Y/N that you’re mates?” Heidi asked as Demetri and her made their way to greet to the ‘tourists’ “Soon, I’m just waiting for the right moment” He replied “Mmm, ok” Heidi replied, knowing that Demetri was stalling because he was worried that Y/N may not want him that way.
A few days later Demetri returned to his room after Guard duty to find Y/N studying in his room “Hope you don’t mind but I needed this book of yours and your room is quieter than the library. Afton, Felix and a few of the others were having a ‘discussion’…” Y/N used air quotes “…about Animal Farm. Apparently Felix is not convinced that it is a book with political themes as it involves farmyard animals…” Demetri could see the amusement shining in her eyes as she spoke “…Afton and the others are trying to explain / convince him that the author used the animals to portray the political views as he thought it would make the topic easier to digest” “I’m going to assume it got rather loud then” He chuckled and she nodded “If you want me to leave so you can relax I will and I’ll return your book tomorrow” Y/N said and began to close her laptop and books. Demetri placed his hand on hers gently as he spoke “You are welcome in here anytime darling, you know that” “But…” “But nothing” He cut her off “I’m going for a shower and to change and you’re going to continue working on that essay” “Are you sure? I know you’ve had a long day” “I’m sure” He replied smiling, liking how her scent filled his room. Y/N nodded and got to back to work “Enjoy your shower” “I will” He replied and made his way to the bathroom to freshen up.
Y/N ate dinner in Demetri’s room whilst she studied. Demetri was at his desk sorting out paperwork but couldn’t help looking over at her every few minutes. “You ok Dem?” Y/N asked “Hmm?” Demetri replied, he had become distracted “I’ve been trying to get your attention but you seem to be in your own little world” She chuckled “Sorry” “Don’t be. I just wanted to say my essay is done and I’m going to give you your room back” “NO” His reply louder than intended “Sorry” He stood and took her hand in his “You don’t have to go Y/N, stay…relax…please” Y/N chuckled “Ok, ok I’ll stay and keep you company Dem” She patted his chest before turning around and walking towards the sofa. Demetri took a book from one of his bookshelves before taking a seat next to Y/N on the sofa and reading to her aloud.
Y/N woke up in Demetri’s arms in the early hours of the morning and smiled seeing his arms still wrapped around her as they laid on the sofa. “Sorry I feel asleep Dem” Her voice held a sleepy tone to it “Don’t be, this is the closest I’ve gotten to sleep in about a thousand years” He replied low and she chuckled “Well, I’ll just go back to sleep then and let you continue to ‘sleep’ too” “Sounds good to me, although I think I’ll move us to the bed as there’s more room…” “As long as I can still sleep in your arms” “That’s a definite darling, don’t worry about that” He lifted her into his arms and carried her to his bed. He pulled back the duvet and gently laid her down before climbing in beside her, pulling the duvet over them. She moved closer to him and he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close “Goodnight darling” “Goodnight Dem.” Y/N felt safe with Demetri even when she was asleep, something that surprised her considering he was a vampire who survived on human blood.
The next morning Demetri decided that Y/N needed to know that she was his mate as he wanted to start their forever together. “Y/N I need to tell you something, it’s important” “Ok, I’m listening Dem” She replied as she turned to face him giving him her full attention. “Do you remember the conversation we had about vampires and mates?” She nodded and he continued “Y/N you are my mate, my soulmate…” “Well that explains why I find myself falling in love with you so quickly” She said cutting him off and watched as his lips curved into a big smile “I’m falling in love with you too and I will always protect you whether you’re human or vampire” He replied and leant forward pressing his lips to hers in a soft and loving kiss. He pulled back allowing her to breathe before leaning back in for another kiss. He pulled away again and gently rested his forehead against hers. “Move into my room darling” “I-I’m not ready for that but how do you feel about regular sleepovers?” He thought for a moment and then nodded “It’s a good compromise darling” She smiled back at him “Thank you for understanding Dem” “Always darling.”
Two days later Demetri took Y/N out on their first official date starting at the Natural History Museum as she had mentioned about a new exhibit that had been unveiled recently. They then walked around the old, cobbled streets and Y/N noticed the market stalls. They walked hand in hand browsing at what the stalls had to offer and Demetri noticed a jewellery stall and bought her a gold heart-shaped locket. He put it in his pocket quickly so she wouldn’t see it as she approached him and slipped her arm through his.
Once they arrived back at the castle Demetri took her to the kitchen and the first thing she noticed was that one of the tables was covered in a white table cloth with a silver candelabra sitting in the middle of the table. Two sets of silver cutlery were laid on the table beside white plates placed on silver placemats. The smell of Lasagne and garlic bread filled the air and Y/N’s stomach grumbled low. “I think someone is hungry” Demetri spoke low in her ear and she nodded “It smells wonderful.” “Please take a seat and dinner will be served” Gianna said softly as she entered the room, Heidi following behind her. Heidi had laid the table exactly as Demetri has asked and Gianna had cooked Y/N’s favourite meal along with a Banana Rum cake for dessert. Heidi opened a bottle of wine and poured Y/N and Demetri a glass each. “This is amazing Dem, thank you” “You’re welcome mi amore” He replied with a loving smile. “Thank you Heidi, Gianna for helping him” “It was our pleasure hunny” Heidi replied and Gianna nodded “I also get to eat the lovely meal I prepared for you so it’s a win win for me” She chuckled “Dinner is delicious G” Y/N complimented with a smile “Just wait till you get to the dessert” Y/N nodded and smiled at her.
Once they had finished dinner they made their way upstairs and Demetri led her to his room, closing the door behind them. Y/N took a seat on the sofa and waited for Demetri to join her. “I have something for you darling” He reached into his pocket and pulled out the box and handed it to her. She opened the box and a gasp slipped from her lips “It’s beautiful, thank you Dem” She leant forward and kissed him “I love you” He kissed her back “I love you too darling.”
Over the next two months when Demetri wasn’t on guard duty or missions and Y/N wasn’t busy studying, they worked on building their relationship wanting it to be strong enough to survive being apart once she returned home to finish the academic year. “Mates don’t well apart but we’ll text and speak on the phone daily and when I’m able I will come visit you in Forks” Demetri said trying to sound upbeat when really he was sad at having to be apart from his mate. “Exactly, we’ll make this work Dem, I promise” She replied before going on her tip toes and kissing him, his hands going to her waist to pull her flush against his body.
Y/N’s last day in Volterra came too quickly for her and Demetri’s liking. “You all packed?” Felix asked from the doorway “Yep” Y/N replied over her shoulder “D will be ok. I’ll look after him” Felix said as he came to stand behind her, resting a hand gently on her shoulder “You’ll be ok too. You’ll have your family and friends to look after you” Y/N nodded in response, feeling tears building behind her eyes. She took one last look around the room ensuring she hadn’t left anything behind before taking a deep breath and following Felix downstairs to the throne room.
“I’m going to miss having you around my dear” Marcus said to Y/N as he gently wrapped his arms around her “Just remember this is your home and we cannot wait until you are back with us” Aro said as he hugged Y/N goodbye “Yes, the castle will definitely be quieter without you here…and I’m not sure that I like that” Caius added as he gave her a quick one armed hug “Safe travels my dear and come back home as soon as you can” Athenodora said as she and Sulpicia both wrapped Y/N in a tight hug. “I’m going to miss you all as well” Y/N replied, knowing she was going to miss the castle full of vampires.
Once Y/N had said goodbye to everyone Demetri took her hand in his and led her to the castle doors. He pulled her into his arms wrapping them tightly around her although being careful not to hurt her. “I’m going to miss you Dem, so very much” Her voice muffled slightly as she nuzzled into him “I’m going to miss you too darling. I wish you could stay” He kissed the top of her head “Me too but I can’t, I have to return home so I can graduate” “I know, I know” His voice low. He pulled back a little and captured her lips in a loving kiss “I love you my darling” Tears slipped down her cheeks “I love you too Dem.” He cupped her face in his hands and gently wiped away the tears with his thumbs.
Demetri and Y/N struggled to be apart as they and everyone else knew they would, the silver lining being that this time apart was just a temporary situation. Y/N cried herself to sleep most nights as she missed him, missed being around him and felt hollow inside, like a part of her was missing. Demetri felt like he had been ripped in two, he missed being with Y/N, missed seeing her around the castle and in his room especially since her scent had faded from his room weeks ago.
They both were counting down the days until they could be reunited forever. “Two weeks left” Demetri said aloud as he crossed another day off the calendar. He looked around his room and smiled at the few feminine touches he had added ready for Y/N’s return. He had bought a few fluffy blankets and some throw pillows as he knew that she liked to snuggle up on the sofa with a good book after a hard day studying. He also got Heidi to buy some dresses for Y/N so she had something nice to wear for their upcoming dates.
Demetri drove to the airport to collect Y/N despite originally asking Santiago to go as he was meant to be on duty but Santiago declined and offered to do his shift instead. “Go collect your girl, I’ll do your shift” “Really?” “Yea, but you owe me one” Santiago called as Demetri sprinted towards the underground garage.
Once Y/N had collected her suitcase and cleared customs she made her way outside the airport expecting to see Santiago but was surprised when she heard a familiar voice “Hello darling” She spun around quickly and smiled “Demi” She called out as she ran to him, he caught her easily and spun around with her in his arms. He put her down and captured her lips with his, the kiss was hot and needy “MINE” He growled in her ear as he buried his head in the crook of her neck “Always” She replies kissing his cheek and wrapping her arms around his waist tightly.
Once back at the castle Demetri parks his car and pulls Y/N into his arms “Dem” She squeals in surprise and feels her mate’s arms wrap around her firmly. They breathed in each other’s scents and Y/N felt her stomach drop as she remembered that she would have to sleep alone again tonight despite being back in the castle. Demetri picked up the subtle change in Y/N’s demeanour following their embrace and knew what was bothering her. “Move into my quarters darling” “Sorry” Y/N replied shaking her head, thinking she had heard him wrong. “Move into my quarters darling” He repeated himself “On one condition” She replied quickly “Anything, it’s yours” He replied just as quickly and she chuckled before replying “I want to sleep in your arms every night…whilst I’m human at least” “Darling, I will hold you in my arms every night for eternity” He replied before capturing her lips in a loving kiss. Eternity just got a little sweeter for both of them.
