Ravenclaw Girls Headcanon

Remember Morag Macdougal? Lisa Turpin? Sue Li?

I like to think they’re some of the many students from Ravenclaw who come from old and powerful Wizarding families so they value their culture and tradition highly, like how Slytherin students do, but they also understand how times are changing so they empathize with Muggleborns students as well.

They’re the ones who treat their fellow students fairly, no matter how bad the student’s reputation is, because they know how everyone has it hard in life. (Pureblood students, who have to exceed expectations and uphold their family name since the day they were born; who live with a huge weight on their shoulders that threatened to suffocate them all the time. Muggleborn students, who had trouble fitting in when they were young because of the accidental bouts of magic they couldn’t explain and still have trouble at Hogwarts because some students are racist against them. Halfblood students, who always feel the need to prove themselves worthy of attention or recognition because their blood is not special or exciting; who have to fake and exaggerate their ambition because their families were counting on them to make a name for themselves.)

So when the War is over and they all come back to Hogwarts to finish their education, they are the ones who act as if there’s no rift between the student body, but are still careful as to not overstep the line of being insensitive to those who had it really bad during the War.

They are understanding of the decisions people had to make during the War because well⁠—it was War. Everyone did what they had to survive. And they survived. And it’s time to put the War behind them. Yes, some people did wrong things, but they could also do better. They were children⁠—heck, they were still at school. They all have many things to learn, still. So they will. And they will not mistreat anyone who wants to learn and improve and grow. They won’t. Because they understand. You can’t gatekeep people from learning and then expect them to be perfect at the same time.
