Cuddling Headcanons - Straw Hats and the Three Unwise Men

A/N: Just mulling over something sweet and something to reference back to for my own use in future writings. I just wanna give all of them some love tbh I am a slut for affection

Includes! Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Luffy, Usopp, Mihawk, Buggy, and Shanks

Warnings: gn!reader, all fluff, opla leaning for the most part but I think it can fit both pretty well, an innuendo or two

Zoro

Partial touches during naps were how he started interacting with your personal space but your lap no longer belongs to you it is now his pillow

Honestly, basically any of you is a pillow whenever he decides - I don't care if you are significantly shorter than him he will find a way to fall asleep on your shoulder

For more contact, you need to be the one to cling to him but he does absolutely need to be touching you at least a bit

Once he gets used to it he’ll give you a look any time you’re depriving him of his daily intake of physical affection (the sass king will always get his tribute)

He absolutely melts like a cat in the sun if you massage at any of his muscles, could be anything as much as an evening dedicated to working out every knot he has or as simple as putting intentional pressure behind your thumb as it circles and drags along his skin

He can get nervous about kissing you when it’s not on the lips - something about it feels more vulnerable to him somehow - so if he does venture to kiss your cheek or head or shoulder or hand please reassure him with a smile or your own kisses or a firm squeeze

He gets better about being seen hugging/holding you eventually, but will never get comfortable with giving more than pecks on the cheek or forehead around the others. Maaaaaaybe the corner of your lips if he’s feeling ~spicy~

Sanji

Back hugs, back hugs, back hugs-

He’s always making sure that the two of you brush hands or arms when near each other, even after you two establish a relationship it will always give him tingles

Likes to be very intertwined when you cuddle - if he can somehow wrap around you more then he absolutely will

He is The Best at tracing shapes gently on your skin, just like with brushing hands he never tires of it because, wow, he gets to touch you! He still can’t believe it sometimes

Very good at making you feel cherished when he holds you because of the way he always seems to take his time and ease into it and constantly caress you not to say that there’s never a time he’s hurried and ravenous

It also helps that he’s always whispering sweet nothings to you about how wonderful you are, how beautiful and precious and lovely and kind and capable and special

When he wants to trap you while cuddling, he wraps his legs around you and uses their absurd strength for evil

He will melt if you ever do the same to him and he will happily be at your whims to cuddle until you've decided it's enough, all of you could be under attack but he is staying right where you want until you decide that he needs to move

Loooooves showering you with sweet little kisses anytime you're cuddling

He can sometimes get carried away with pda because he forgets that there’s anyone else around whoops

Nami

She has her legs on your lap always - sometimes while she's laying/leaning back, sometimes with one leg hooked over one of yours, sometimes basically sitting on your lap

She likes to be the one that is held and feels most comfortable with her face snuggled into something (please nurture her and that scared, lonely inner child)

Enjoys brushing the tip of her nose across you, especially across your cheek or neck or the tip of your own nose

She likes to hook your arms together whether you’re standing next to each other during a convo or you’re walking or she’s sitting next to you, she just loves the casual contact and how she can use it to be playful and pull you around or use it to stay close and let others know that both of you are taken do not even think about it keep moving along dude

She’s very weak to hugs where you pick her up a few inches off the ground for a second, they send her heart racing (bonus points if you’re noticeably taller or shorter than her and do this)

She’s also weak for words of affirmation, especially when you speak them to her while you hold each other in the quiet hours of night

For some reason literally being on your lap around others is fine but if you give her a kiss to the temple while that's happening? Suddenly it's Too Much, both in how sweet it is and also because she’s being perceived while it's happening

Luffy

Any/all contact is being had whenever he’s with you

If he’s on the floor next to you then your calf is now his teddy bear, if you’re on the floor near him he’ll snatched your torso with his legs, if you’re sat near him he’s wrapping both arms around one of yours to snuggle it

One of his favorites is leaning your backs against each other, he feels really supported and the way you occasionally lean and twist your head back to nuzzle his or give him a quick kiss makes him smile with the utmost joy

He will carry and move you around in the strangest ways - fireman carry, one arm around your waist while you’re upside down, your knees hooked over his shoulders while the rest of you hangs down, you trying to koala to his side, one time you were curled completely around his waist like a pool floaty - no one understands why you two can’t be normal

Likes to be the one to hold you so he can fidget when he needs without feeling like he has to unlatch you first, this is especially when you two are laid down and/or going to be cuddling together for awhile

PDA doesn’t bother him at all, he doesn’t give a fuck if anyone sees you snuggled up together, doesn’t even occur to him that he should care

His playfulness will come out often with dramatic “mwah!” kisses, nipping at you, blowing raspberries on your skin, and the occasional tickling

Usopp

It’s necessary for him to have his arms wrapped around you some way

Likes to be the big spoon to feel like he’s acting as armor and protecting you, it just hits the right place in his brain that has him feeling Big and Strong in the best way

He loves when you plant a kiss on his chest, especially if you aim one directly over his heart (that is totally at a normal rate plz don’t check)

He likes to play with your hair and/or massage your neck and scalp

Big into making sure wherever the two of you are cuddling is comfy, has many extra blankets and a selection of pillows by size and firmness

Always down to cuddle but feels more comfortable if you initiate first, especially when it’s a new thing between the two of you

He simultaneously loves pda and is nervous about pda but that nervousness is absolutely gone when he’s drunk or even pretty buzzed

Good at incorporating his head into hugs - hooking his jaw on your shoulder or on top of your head, leaning his temple gently into the side of your head, bumping you softly with his forehead

Need background noise while you go to sleep? He’s more than happy to hold you and turn on storyteller mode. Honestly, it’s one of his favorite things to do and he cherishes that time together

When it’s bedtime stories he’s telling, his voice is so low and soothing

Mihawk

This man needs to have his hands holding something on you (your hand, your shoulder, your waist, your thigh, your back, your ass lol),

He likes to feel wrapped around you like hes hoarding you to himself, this leads to him enjoying you laying on his chest, having all of your weight on him has him feel like he’s fully possessing you

Will definitely kiss the top of your head/your temple/your forehead/basically whatever his lips are near, not a consistent bout of them, more one deliberate peck when the need strikes him (it’s also his customary goodnight to you)

Like the other swordsman, he will give you a look if you miss a habitual touch (especially if it’s the way you usually ran a hand through his hair with a kiss to the forehead before you left the castle, that was non-negotiable it had to happen), his stare however is more the 1000 yard variety and those bright yellow eyes will bore a hole through you until you understand what you did wrong

Something about this man makes me feel his temp runs hot but not in a way that bothers him, like he doesn’t feel hot or overheated but when you touch him the difference between you two is noticeable

It’s a damn good thing that he reciprocates your physical affection, even if 70% it’s just an arm coming around you, because his stony expression makes it easy to assume that your touches are unwanted

This type of limited response is mostly for more casual cuddling like hugs or sitting next to each other because when you’re laying together his face is always soft and he’s much greedier to be pressing into you

Okay with some pda like quick and passing touches including kisses, but not a fan of anything more intimate when others can see

Buggy

The Chairrrrrr, as you’ve told him it’s circUS so both of you need to be on the throne (If he’s wanting to look extra powerful or intimidating you have no problem sitting at his feet and holding him like a heroine on a 70s fantasy novel)

He’s a big fan of any possessive gestures - arm around shoulders, back hugs, pulling you to wrap your arms around him, having you sit in his lap

He’s a cuddle switch for sure because sometimes he needs to hold you to remind himself that you’re his and sometimes he needs to feel held

Very fragile for gentle affection - please draw shapes on this man’s back, play with his hair and massage his scalp, give him head kisses, hand kisses, wrist kisses

Feels like his heart will explode if you nuzzle your face into him whether its into his chest or the side of his head or good lord his pALM (He may have literally fallen apart the first time you did that and if you’re ever in the mood for some Entertainment bring it up)

He is actually made for cuddling because if his arm is uncomfortable to lay on or starting to fall asleep? He can detach it and now it’s your stuffed animal. This can extend to literally any part of him that either of you feels is getting in the way of the perfect cuddle

Need to feel needed? The way he’ll pull you into him and hold you like you’re going to disappear will let you know he needs you

Absolutely LIVES for pda, he gets to show you off to everyone and have your gorgeous self make him shine brighter in the spotlight? Nothing could be better

Shanks

Sharing his space often means one of you sitting between the others legs, whether one is on the floor in front of the other’s seat or y’all are laying down together with one settled further down the bed, this often leads to you laying your head on the hip or stomach or upper thigh of the other

He mostly likes to be on his back or stomach and pretty splayed out, so you’ve adjusted yourself to gripping to him after he’s taken over the bed

It always makes him soft to think about you always choosing to cling to him without him having to hold you there, it really drives home that he’s something you actively want

Will grope you, sometimes sexually, but he also just likes the feeling of grabbing you, it’s somewhat of a manifestation of cute aggression

He’s a sucker for getting his neck/shoulders/upper back rubbed while cuddling (which is a pain if he’s decided to be on his back) and he is not above bargaining for it or prodding you like an indignant pet each time you stop (very good puppy eyes), this is one of his favorite perks of having you in his lap

He’s another one to not care about being seen by others but not because it hasn’t occurred to him (like Luffy) but because anyone judging him is WAY less important than getting more affection from you

His heart gets really tender when you lay with him and massage the stump of his arm and the shoulder above it because it helps with the phantom pains when he has them, it also help with the tension from using the muscles on that side to compensate, and it reminds him how the only thing about his arm that bothers you is that it hurts him

AHAHAHAHA I LOOOOOVE YOUR REQUEST!! THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH!! 🖤🖤 I really REALLY hope you like it as much as I did!!

The prompt vary a little for every girl since I don't know exactly what kind of yandere would you be so i tried to cover basic things of yanderes, as well of the reason of what could trigger you to kidnap her because i didn't want to use the excuse of just being possessive or wanting her

Mikan Tsumiki

For Mikan her darling is everything, it doesn't matter if you are kind or even rude to her she is completely fine with it as long as you aknowledge her existance, even if you are rude or mean to her she brush it off as being your way to show your love for her

She will never even dare to think bad about you or question your feelings, the moment you show that you are willing to spend time with her Mikan is complety ecstatic by it, she quickly becomes clingy and even possessive over you, but she tends to apologize for the way she acts. Mikan was already ecstatic by the fact that you seem to don't mind her presence but actually wanting to be with her put Mikan on the verge of tears, she just can believe that the person she loves the most love her in return

Mikan will never doubt or question your love for her, she thinks that you are perfect the way you are and, even when she can't stand up for herself she won't let anyone talk bad about her beloved, if someone dares to say that you are really weird or your way to love is unhealthy she is quickly to shut up the person, swearing that there is nothing wrong about you and she will love you until the end of her days

What if you want to monopolize her or even become possessive over her? It doesn't matter, she is completely yours anyways, beside she won't like to leave your side neither, what if you don't like when she interact with others? Mikan rather spend all her time with you than with anyone else, if it depend on her she will never talk to anyone aside from you again, what if you are rude or even mean to her? Is alright because she knows you do it with love, you never meant to hurt her

Mikan is complety obvious with how much she loves you and that she is willing to do anything for you, you just have to ask, specially since you seem to like her back (or even had express it) so the posibility of she doesn't loving you or jealousy won't be enough to trigger you to try to kidnap her, but something that could do trigger you is the bullying, Mikan tries to spend all her time with you (because when she isn't with you she feels desperate, almost like in a anxiety attack) but that doesn't stop the bullies to mess with her the little moments you two aren't together or others trying to take advantage of her

Planning on a kidnapping could be pretty difficult for how clingy Mikan is, she doesn't like leaving you even if you ask her kindly enough she won't be able to stay away for too long and will start following you, but if you manage to make your plan it won't be able too difficult to do it, Mikan trust you blindly and will follow you until the end of the world if you ask her, doesn't matter which method you use (drugging her, knock her out or even sneaking when she is sleep) she will easily fall on it because is you

The moment Mikan wakes up tied up she immediatly panics, mainly because she doesn't know what is happening or where you are, seeing you imediatly calms her down but still wonder what is happening, the moment you start telling her how much you love her make her heart race, and when you tell her that you are doing all of this out of love because you can just tolerate how others treat her Mikan can't take it anymore and start crying, she is overwhelmed by the happiness for knowing that you are willing to do so much just for her but embarrassement for bringing you so much troubles

If you try to comfort her or ask her why is crying she will try to explain herself, and the moment you finally free her she is imediatly grapping her arms around you, clinging onto you like if her life depend on it and crying harder (she will apologize later for it), when she finally is able to calm down Mikan start thanking you over and over again before shyly asking you what is your plan for the future, again Mikan is completly willing to do whatever you want, if you want for her to become your housewife and live with you for the rest of her life she will do it happily

Nene Yashiro

For Yashiro her darling is someone completely attractive and perfect, she has been daydreaming about dating someone, about meeting a beautiful gentleman or even a knight in shining armor and for Yashiro her darling is that person she has been wating for so long, the person of her dreams

Yashiro thinks so high of her darling that she can't just approach to them, she just get so shy and clumsy in their presence, not even being able to look directly at you, that is why she prefers to admire you from afar and daydream about you until she manage to build up the courage to talk to you, but if you are the one who approach to her or shows even a little interest on her, just by aknowledge her existance make her a flustered mess and give her a rush of confidence, making her more confidence on her chances with you

It has to be a slowly process for you two to get close, let alone in a relationship, since Yashiro constantly feels like she will combust for the overwhelming feelings and yet she is completely ecstatic to be with you, you showing love to her make her fall harder for you and give her more confidence little by little

Your relasionship can be seen as just the embarrasing first youth love but as the time pass from both it start to be a little more obvious the yandere tendencies and yet in Yashiro's eyes you continue being perfect and flawless, is that maybe that you want to spend all your time with her and monopolize her? is out of love, obviously! she is grateful that you love her that much! are you possessive over her or don't like when she interact with others? you just don't want to lose her over someone else, how romantic! is that you can be rude or agressive towards her? is just part of your atractive! you are just the bad guy type!

Yashiro is down bad for you, you are just so perfect and handsome in her eyes that she can't help but be shy and blushy around you, she isn't the best to show how much she loves you when you are around because she is shy and could be embarrassing for her, but when you aren't around she never stop thinking about you and never shut up to her friends about how amazing you are, jealousy could be something that end up triggering you but the bound she has with Hanako it could be even more irritating, why did she has a bound that unites your beloved with some pervert ghost?

Planning the kidnapping wouldn't be too difficult because Yashiro is willing to give you time to yourself if you ask, and even if she ends following you and found out part of your plan she will come up with a excuse of why you are planing to do something so horrifing and suspicious, as well it won't be really difficult for you to make Yashiro fall in your trap, just lull her with sweet words of love and she is completely blinded

However Yashiro doesn't want to be trapped here, not that she doesn't like being in your house is just that Yashiro wants to continue living her life, she wants to be able to share a high school romance with all kind of cheesy dates with you, a romance that spreads to the end of your days (she is saying all of this to you with a hopeful and loving voice and yet shyly) but to be able to do all of this she need to be able to go out, so she asks you shyly to please free her so you two can continue with the romance of her dreams and leave a dream life with you

Yumeko Jabami

It isn't too dificult to catch Yumeko attention however her darling is someone way too special for her, since the first moment she saw them she knew there was something special on them, she immediatly approach to you and, as the time pass, her love and obsession just grows more and more

The Hyakkau Private Academy is replete of extravagant and excentric people, and, adding that Yumeko loves is unconditional towards you, she doesn't see anything bad on you, you could be the craziest or even the most calm person on earth and she still will love you nonetheless. Yumeko is clingy and a little possessiveness, somehow she always know where you are, however since you doesn't seem bothered at all by her insistance on being with you then Yumeko has no reason get apart from you

No one has the oportunity to say something bad about your relationship since it seem unhealthy from both parts, it almost seem normal for how willing both are with each other, even if they try to say something Yumeko is quickly to say otherwise, you two are completly fine and in love! She normally take it pretty good but can get really mad if someone insist on criticize your relasionship

The toxic yandere tendencies are pretty evident, both can grow pretty possessive of each other (however when it comes to gambling she is completely fine with you playing against anyone you want, as long she is there to see it and don't put on a big risk your relationship, it would be exciting but she doesn't want to lose you over someone else), she is already extremely clingy and monopolizing with you and with your willingness towards her behavior makes almost imposible for you two to be away from each other or for someone to approach without both being in agreement

Is obvious how much Yumeko love you and how she always want to be with you, she is constantly dragging you with her everywhere and even when she shows being excited by someone else she always make clear that you are her one and only, jealousy can trigger you sometimes but not enough to make you try and kidnap her, what could trigger you is how much risks she is taking all the time

Planning on kidnapping her could be pretty difficult since Yumeko is always with you and, also, she is incredibly smart and she may guess that you are planning something behind her back but she let you continue with you plan out of curiosity. Is more likely that you can't completely put your plan into action because she find out what are you planing to do, and yet she just turn things a little, proposing to instead of trying to kidnap her you two can have a game and she won't take a no as a response, if you win she goes with you but if not she will be free

If you win she will go with you as she promise and will accept do whatever you ask for a while, not without teasing you a little, she even stay calm for a little while about the games and risks. When you explain that all you want is to keep her safe with you, declaring your undying love for her it something that flattered her and Yumeko can't help but laugh in amusment with a blush, calling you cutie and even romantic, reciprocating by saying how much she loves you too and how she adores that you are willing to take such risk just for her in the name of love!

Although Yumeko isn't willing to leave the gambling and stop taking risks, doing it makes her really happy, as happy as having you, and she will drag you with her into that world even if you don't want to, however she makes clear that no matter what happen she will always choose you, even if that lead the two of you to the end of the world or to hell itself she will be more than happy to face it as long as you two are together and had fun in the process

Marin Kitagawa

Marin is head over heels for her darling, it was a slowly process for her to fall in love but once it happens it is hard, in her eyes you are completely perfect and everything you do is perfect, Marin is completely lovesick for you and even think that there is no one better than you, you two are meant to be together

Love make Marin blind and she can't just see bad on her darling, for Marin her darling is just so cute! so amazing! so perfect! And just like that Marin can't stay away from her darling, she just love you so much that she wants to spend all the time she can with you, Marin is a completly clingy yandere, she always have her hands on you and is draging you everywhere she goes or just follows you with a smile, and when, for whatever reason she isn't with you she is constantly texting you or even calling you by the phone

Marin isn't easy to get mad but is quickly to stand up and defend what she loves when someone dares to say something bad about it, that includes you, if someone dares to say something bad about you or your relationship (or point out how extreme or unhealthy is) Marin is imediatly mad and quickly shut up the person, it doesn't matter who is, not a stranger or one of her friends

What if you want to monopolize her? you two just LOVE spending time together, you don't like that she talks to others? well, you are just being insecure and silly, worring that someone will try to steal her from you but she asures you that that will never happen, you look up at her in a extreme way? is just admiration! the same admiration she feels for you!

Marin is always so obvious with how much she loves you and she is sure that you love her just as much she does (even if you don't express it or it wasn't true in her mind that is how it is), Marin is pretty naive but when it comes to you she is even more blinded and just follows you lead as long as you ask kindly enough so the posibility of doubting her love is almost null, but what could trigger you can be jealous and/or desesperation, Marin is incredibly attractive and atract a lot attention to herself and not just that but she is a cosplayer and a model, there are always eyes on her, you like it or not

It isn't difficult to have time to yourself if you ask her, Marin is willing to leave you for a while as long as you answer her text and calls (she just can't not talk to you for too much time, she loves you too much) so planning the kidnapping wouldn't be difficult neither carry it out, Marin is naive and blinded by her love, just ask her with a smile and sweet words and she easily fall into your trap

When Marin wake up tied up she is confused, she was with you a moment ago! She is even calling your name, not really afraid (unless you sneaked behind her back). The moment you appear she asks you with a smile what is all of this about, when you start telling her that you love her so much and just wanted all herself just for you she is flustered and flattered, asking you to stop with a shamesly smile and a inmense blushing but still wanting to hear your sweet words

But when you mention that you kidnapted her and she can't escape is when she is troubled, Marin doesn't want this and is quickly to tell you, if she can't go out how she is supoused to continue with her work? without working she can't save money to buy you cute gifts and things to do cosplay, if she can't go out how she is supoused to show off her amazing darling to the world? how is she supoused to do cosplay with you like she dream to do if you two can't go out?

Marin isn't mad at you nor think this is a bad situation, for her is like moving forward in your relationship and get closer and closer, but she wants to go out because there are a lot of things she want to do with you. Marin won't stop until she finally manage to convince you to let her go so you two can continue going on dates, reasuring you that for her the rest of the world doesn't matter, she just want to be able to be with you and share her life with you

Satou Matsuzaka

For Satou her darling is like the light that iluminate her life, her everything, what she has been searching for so long, Satou never knew what was true love until she met you and since that day she wants nothing more than be loved by you and spend the rest of her life with you

Satou wants to spend every single minute of the day by your side, she wants to be able to melt on your presence and embrace and stay there forever, however she has things to do and she has to be far from you sometimes, it sadden her but she only endure it with the motivation that all that she is doing is to asure your future together. Although you two don't have to be apart for too long because you yourself do efforts for you two to spend as much time together you can, what make her completely ecstatic and makes every day feel like being in heaven

It could be difficult for people to tell how unhealthy your relationship can be since the yandere tendencies are well hidden, both of you always seem so happy and cheesy together, like if you were a couple straight out of a fairy tale and those toxic tendencies are easily brush off with love, happiness and willingness

Do you want to spend all the time with Satou and even monopolize her? what a coincidence! she wants nothing more than be with you! do you dislike when she interact with others or how much attention others put to her? Satou understand, she doesn't like it neither, she had already found the true love with you so she doesn't like others interfering on your relationship! do you start being possessive with her? there is no need! she is completely yours just as you are completely hers

Satou always make obvious how much she loves you and since you love her back she doesn't see a reason of why she should back with all the love and affection she has for you, also she is constantly talking about you with Shouko with such loving voice that can easily make anyone jealous, so doubting or being desperate for her love isn't an option to trigger you, however Satou is so beautiful that attract too much people, and some people that doesn't has the best intentions and that could easily trigger you

Planning on kidnapping her could be pretty easy since Satou is completely willing to let you alone for a while if you ask kindly enough (still she may worry a little about you and could trigger her a little if you insist), as well putting the plan into action won't be too difficult if you cover up with something romantic for her (sneaking behind her will be more difficult and suspicious), and since she trust you enough it won't be difficult for her to fall into your trap

The moment she wakes up tied up her first thought is you, are you alright? did something happened to you? She doesn't care if something happen to her, not like it will happen she can easily find a way to escape from this situation, but what about you?

When you make your appearance Satou is confused, what is all of this about? But when you start telling her that you have done all of this because of her, because you love her so much that you can't tolerate others trying to steal her from you, that you just wanted her to be with you forever, Satou is completely flustered and flattered, she has been feeling the same for so long! Satou wants so bad to be with you! She doesn't care nor need anyone else aside from you! Satou is so overwhelmed with the happiness and love that start crying

When you finally free her she doesn't waste anytime before throwing herself into your arms, still crying she start to speak her heart out and telling you that she loves you with the same intensity as you do for her! she wants nothing more than with be with you! Satou wants to protect you from every bad on the world too! she was planning to wait a little longer (maybe until you two finish the school) to finally ask you to officially unite your lives for the rest of your lives and never get apart again, but why wait when you want the same? ok, i love buck’s journey to self discovery (kinda like “you get to exhale now”, “you didn’t know this part of you but you are embracing it”. that is brave stuff, tbh), and i love LOOOOOVE tommy (his gentleness and his crinckley smile and just everything about him), and how much the actors care about it all. so i’m honestly gonna enjoy it for however long it plays out, gonna let them be and love every minute of it.

but if i may put my two cents in it, the way i see it, every “big” interaction buck has had about his bisexuality has been in his kitchen/home, with the conversation and that aghdjskshsj kiss (*dreamy sigh*) with tommy, and his coming out to eddie… (and well, also maddie’s kitchen, but maddie was, is and always will be home to him, united front).

so, what i’m thinking about, and most probably someone else has already said the same or a similar thing, is that when (please, don’t be an if even if i love love love tommy) eddie and buck get together, it will be in eddie’s kitchen/home, because even if his coming out is not everything about buck, this will be about eddie, eddie’s pov, just as the scenes in 7x04-7x05 are about buck (and hence his kitchen/home).

hopefully this makes sense (even if writing my thoughts are not my forte). i was just excited about sharing!

You sat on the edge of the bed, nervously twisting the hem of your skirt between your fingers as Sasuke shook off his jacket. His cheeks were light pink, his black hair slightly disheveled from his hands running through it all evening. Was he as nervous as you were? Impossible. He was perfect and pretty and… Sasuke. Sasuke Uchiha.

And you were just… You.

He sat next to you and held your hand in his, tracing the lines along your palm and humming softly. With each swipe of his thumb, the volcano in your stomach rumbled with desire. The two of you had been flirting on and off again for months now, any time he had business in The Cloud. He always came back, like a carnivorous flower in summer, finding you throughout the village with his adorable crooked smile and striking dark eyes. Only this time had been different.

“Hi,” he said, enjoying the way your face lit up when you noticed him standing next to you at the fruit stall.

“Sasuke!” You sang, wrapping him in a hug. You were the only person who had touched him in so long; it felt nice, touching you. He smirked against your hair as he gripped onto your hips and breathed a small, “Yeah.”

“‘I’m still working for a bit, but I can meet you at my place later?” You asked, blinking up at him. He saw your mouth turn downwards and he thought about kissing you, but all the people around made him weary. He pulled away from you, letting the grim reality of the situation set in, as he shook his head.

“I can help,” he mumbled, looking towards the two stools behind your stall. “If you want?”

You spent the afternoon letting him sit next to you. He would smile at the customers as they browsed through your apples, but you never expected him to actually interact with them. Instead, you’d make him feel helpful by allowing him to rearrange the stand when the stock got low, or asking for him to hand you one of your handcrafted tote bags when a customer requested one. After your shift, you took him out to the orchard and you both watched the sunset in the shadows of your green apple trees, enjoying the cool breeze that occasionally cut through the warmth of Sasuke’s embrace.

Nothing mattered when he was with you - that’s what Sasuke liked the most about visiting here. How he could be anyone and do anything. You made him feel safe and seen, in a way no one else ever had. It was the reason why he responded with “awhile” when you asked how long he was staying this time. It was the reason why he followed slowly behind you as you walked back to the house, questioning if he was making a mistake. He’d wanted you for so long, but he didn’t know how to tell you. Would you feel the same?

He looked from your palm into your delicate eyes, watching him with a burning intensity that made his soul sing. He trailed his finger up your arm, tracing the over the small veins in your wrist, before he cupped your cheek with his hand. Your breath was cold and sweet as he leaned forward, brushing his nose against yours.

“Sasuke?” Your voice was so small and fragile; lovely like a harp. He hummed as he lowered his lips to hover over yours and pierced you with his eyes, shooting you straight to the inky blackness of space.

“I’m not good with words,” he confessed, intertwining the fingers of his free hand with yours. “But I have to tell you something.”

Fire; deep and blue, swirled around your hand in his. Soft silence filled the space between your bodies as his minty breath tickled the skin of your chin. “So… I’d like to show you instead.”

There was a heartbeat of stillness before he pushed his lips to yours, pulling you into the flames and burning you up. Your soft gasp entranced him as he slid his tongue into your mouth and explored around, enjoying the sensation of your small hands tugging at his hair. He leaned his head to the side, deepening the kiss as a force impacted one of his four walls and he, for the first time, welcomed someone inside.

Somehow, articles of clothing had been shed to the floor, leaving the two of you half naked in just your underwear. His slender hands slowly rolled over your stomach, tracing the outline of your lace panties delicately as his mouth continued to devastate you with gentle kisses along your jawline. You gripped onto his strong bicep and he rolled you onto your back, grazing his teeth along the sensitive skin of your neck and sucking your earlobe between his lips. He was like your personal dark devil, sinking you deeper and deeper into the belly of the underworld.

When his finger tugged at your panties, adjusting them lower down your hips, every muscle in your body inadvertently tightened and you whimpered, squirming your legs. He pulled back, his midnight eyes heavy-lidded and focused on your glossy mouth, his breathing shallow and steady.

“What’s wrong?” He murmured, pecking your cheek and moving his hand up to caress your face.

Blood was pounding in your ears, drowning his voice out as you whispered, “I’m sorry.” You felt your eyes grow wet and you turned away from him, fluttering your eyelashes shut as a hiccup escaped through your lips and your body twitched. Sasuke’s voice was faint as you rolled to your side and pulled the blanket over your head, hating yourself.

Here it was - after months and months of torturous flirting and doubting yourself - Sasuke was here, with you, in bed. And you just ruined everything. There was no way he’d talk to you again after this. How embarrassing.

You reflected on how you must look from his perspective, all whiny and insecure and exasperating. He had confessed to you before about how easily irritable he could be sometimes, and you were sure this moment would forever be Top Tier Annoying in his mind. He was just about to fuck someone he’d, supposedly - you still couldn’t believe he felt the same way about you this whole time - chased for months, only for them to start sobbing before he could even take their panties off. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The comforter shifted up and then fluttered back down again, the colorful fabric no longer hugged fully around you as the heat of Sasuke’s body was trapped beneath the blanket with you, warming your soul from the inside out. He rested his arm on your shoulder and pulled himself closer to you, spooning you to his chest as you continued sobbing gently against the sheets. He was silent, allowing you to work through your demons on your own, only occasionally shushing you if a sob was too strangled, too painful for him to listen to.

He hated knowing he did this to you; guilt gnawing at him like a hyena to a bone. He moved too quickly. He shouldn’t have allowed himself to get carried away. He knew you were sensitive - it was his favorite part about you, the way you floated through life with enough empathy to let all his darkness into your beautiful light; sunlight over him no matter what he did - and this is how he repaid you. He was selfish. Always had been. He didn’t deserve you. But he wanted you. It was the reason why he tightened his arms around you as your trembling subsided, why he buried his nose into your hair and breathed in your soothing scent. He could fix this.

“M’sorry,” he said softly. He smelled like the Redwoods, sweet like rain and moss and clouds.

You rolled over to face him and he rested his hand on your cheek, catching the stray tear drops with his thumb. You looked at his chest. “When I was little, I used to think I was ugly.”

You sniffled and he stayed still as a statue, listening to you intently. “I would come home every day and write letters to myself.”

“‘Dear Me’”, they’d start, ‘Today, no one wanted to play with you. You deserve it. No one wants to look at someone like you.’” You saw his lower lip quiver as you trailed your eyes up to his face, but he stayed quiet. “I would scream into my pillow at night, begging to the gods to make me pretty. ‘Please. Just make one thing about me pretty.’”

Another hot tear streaked down your face, but this time Sasuke didn’t catch it with his thumb. Instead, he moved closer and rolled you to your back, gently getting on top of you as he kissed the tears from your face, whispering, “You’re pretty. You’re pretty.” He chanted it as gentle kisses trailed down your cheeks, along your jaw. Whispered praises filled the air as he tenderly kissed every part of your body that you hated; doing what he could to convince you of his affections. He would create constellations for you, would rip a hole in the sky and suck out your fears, would move mountains and rivers and oceans, would go to hell and back - he would do anything to make you smile. He never wanted to see you cry again.

“Sasuke,” you whispered as he nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck, “I ruined everything.”

“No,” his voice was stern as he pulled back to look at you, “You didn’t. You’re perfect.”

You intertwined his fingers with yours as your other hand streaked through his dark hair. “Do you hate me now?” You felt silly needing so much reassurance from him and you averted your eyes away from his. He gripped your chin, forcing you to look at him as he shook his head.

“I could never hate you,” he assured, smiling down at you. “Ever.”

“But-” He silenced you by pressing his lips to yours. It was a gentle kiss, soft as silk, touching you in a way his hands never could.

Your lips trembled under his as he pulled back and whispered against your mouth, “I am not good with people. I get frustrated. I get upset. It’s hard for me to open up.”

You waited as he took in a shaky breath. “But when I’m with you, I don’t feel that way. I feel… good.” He kissed you again and you melted in his hands. “I can’t see anything I don’t like about you.”

You danced in the dark together for the first time after that, touching each other fully and without hesitation. He explored every inch of you and you of him, until the morning sun had faded into the harsh afternoon light and you were both nothing but tangled limbs and heavy hearts. He cradled you after, holding you tightly like a child does their teddy bear, and as you allowed yourself to fade into a restful slumber, you read his touch like a lost tome, finally able to translate the words: I love you.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

Korra: I looooove to explore her soft and goofy side! The way she interacts with the airbender kids, the way she treats Naga and Pabu, the way she empathizes with that new airbender who traps himself on top of a bridge at the beginning of book 3....all very heartwarming to me.

Korra has such a huge and amazing personality, and whenever I write her I try to do that justice. She's strong and stubborn, and also a massive sweetheart with a great sense of humor; I don't want to pretend she's only those first two things, because then I feel like I'm doing her character AND the reader a disservice. Well-rounded characters make a story feel more immersive, because there isn't a person alive who's genuinely one-dimensional.

Asami: I love imperfect Asami!!! I love Asami who can't cook for shit and works way too hard and drools in her sleep and smothers her emotions!!!! There's so much potential to explore the ways that her unaddressed grief and sheltered upbringing influence the way she operates, and if I ever finish that Angst WIP....I don't know where this thought was going honestly. Just that the flawless exterior is hiding a messy interior. I want her to reach a place where she's happy, but I don't want my writing to suggest that she hasn't struggled to get there.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

Korra: I tend to write the kind of fic I like to read, so my answer is similar to the one above! I love when people recognize that Korra is complex and has depth, and I really don't like when she's portrayed as this unfeeling, brainless wall of muscle. Korra isn't stupid, she's impulsive☝️There's a difference!

Asami: Similar to how I feel about Korra, I desperately need Asami to have more than one character trait in a fic. And I don't vibe with passive, shrinking violet Asami, like....this is the woman who tricked a guard into freeing her, repaired an airship after it crashed, and took out like 5 Red Lotus soldiers singlehandedly. She doesn't sit around waiting for things to happen to her, she gets shit done.

my absolute favorite without any doubt is pining levi. like, i looooove writing him so in love in hange that it's a bit embarrassing. is it ooc? maybe. most probably. do i care? not in the slightest

also! jealous levi! but not in an angry possessive way, but more like a wet sad cat way. yes, if you haven't noticed yet i like writing pathetic levi a lot

and oblivious hange! oblivious hange is great. however, i also do enjoy hange who sees through all levi's layers of bullshit and figures he has a thing for them even before he himself does, but oblivious hange really does it for me. like, yeah, hange is a super smart, a definition of genius who creates amazing inventions, but when it comes to people? well, when it comes to people, they're not completely clueless, but well.... i think that given that hange was most probably treated as a sort of weirdo (if not worse) their whole time, they're not always sure how people actually perceive them, so they're naturally a bit reserved. they're still friendly and unbelievably kind, but they can't exactly tell if someone likes them as much as they do, or if they're projecting. and then comes this super grumpy guy, who is rude to everyone, hange included, so closed off its actually impressive and who seems completely uninterested in any kind of human interaction and, especially, connection. and it seems that he can't stand hange at all in the beginning (that doesn't stop hange from interacting with him and, maaaaybe, getting on his nerves a bit, though), and he always has a dozen different things to criticise them for, but at the same time.... it seems like hange is the one he spends most of his time with? and although he complains when they bother him, he also doesn't do a thing to stop them? and he even shows hange a glimpse of his true, unguarded self? and hange has a hundred different explanations for that, except the easiest and most logical one - levi simply likes to spend time with them, because, well.... he likes them. but that is a notion hange just can't wrap their brilliant head around. so, yes! oblivious hange is the best

......there are probably more tropes i most definitely overuse, but suddenly i can't remember a single one of them 😢

okay i have a few.

this is biased given its personal AND super recent, but “i haven’t slept in a week”. i was scared to post that but im actually really proud of that writing lmao, despite how terrified i was to post it

then there’s “for all the love i’ve found in you, i’ll be forever grateful baby”. i hated it at the time but i’ve grown to be really proud of it, and that poem i wrote. also because i wrote that for akeyla and it’s actually really sweet

and also “baby it’s cold outside”. that fic is my child like i’m so proud of that fic

and then also “like crying out in empty rooms, with no one there except the moon”, “like mother, like daughter” (agggtm), “but this situation’s helpless” (this was my favourite fic id ever written for soooo long), “fools who run their mouths off wind up dead”, and “steal into my affections”

16- a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

omg okay so musical canon, i think people should focus on some of the ways that burr especially says some lines. like the sound of his voice, the way his delivers his lines. like i made that soit the other day about how he says “i get a drink” in the world was wide enough. i feel like we really need to appreciate more the way he delivers his lines. i don’t know how to describe it, but he just sounded like. flat. you can tell by his voice he was just like. “holy shit. i have just killed hamilton.” and he regretted it. i don’t know how to explain it. but we really need to appreciate this more

in historical canon, i feel like we need to focus more on the schuylkill incident. i swear that’s the funniest story ever. and also the aides friendships and family dynamic?? and also lafayette and washington’s friendship and kinda like. father-son relationship. it’s just. as much as i absolutely adooooore washington and alexander’s relationship, in historical canon he was definitely closer with lafayette than alexander.

24- how has fandom positively impacted your life?

okay. how do i even begin with this.

fandom has been a huuuge part of my life since i was 6, with harry potter. i remember when i was in year 5 (10-11 years old-ish), we had to write a creative story, and i fully wrote a marauders era fanfiction. because that’s how i got into creativity, it was through fanfiction. i remember my year 5 teacher giving me a whole lecture about how i can’t write something that already exists, and i was really upset about it, and i spent ages refusing to write fanfiction, and only write original works, and i just couldn’t get anything written. fandom and fanfiction is a huge part of my life, and it’s a huge outlet of stress for me.

i would use fanfiction to make sense of my feelings for years, even when i was younger, and i’d get a bit of disconnect from strong emotions by giving them to characters, and i’d feel just that little bit better. and also reading fanfictions, where a character is feeling and going through similar things always make me feels a little bit less alone, i could read or watch the canon material and see my comfort character, and i’d remember that in a certain fanfiction where the character may have been going through something similar to me, and i’d be like, “well if this character, who is so strong, can get through it, i can get through this. i can do it.” and it would give me that comfort. seeing my comfort characters feeling the same way always makes me feel a bit better about everything

Writer Q&A Tag Game

Thank you @sunset-a-story for ALSO tagging me way back in August. I AM SO SORRY

1. What motivates you to write?

It itchy, itchy urge to create something. I NEED it OUT. I MUST make sense of it ALL. The thoughts need ordering and putting together to maximize the happy chemicals. I see something I like that someone else made and I get jealous so I must do something like that, but MY way, and BETTER. It all makes me very itchy (restless).

2. A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them)

I skimmed my entire 3rd draft (so far) to pick a line. There are a lot of good ones but none I liked more than the rest - I couldn't choose. So... I know I've already shared this one but dammit. It is a kickass line. It's also the first line of WIPVII - and you do not know what devils I sold my soul to to escape THAT writer's block.

I will live, I tell myself through the salt water in my eyes and the sting of the south wind on my face. This will make for a good story one day.

5. What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay)

Banter and wit. Which is funny because I always thought that was the thing I would struggle most with - I was the academic overachiever who took herself too seriously in school. But when I reread my drafts there is something that makes me laugh in nearly every scene. Most of my highlighted lines are banter or retorts.

6. What do you enjoy most about the Writeblr community?

I love seeing writeblr content on my dash and I looooove getting interactions when I liveblog my writing. It is so nice to be able to share this with people who love it too (rather than inflicting it on my poor irl friends who are not writers). I just love all you Writeblr friends so much!

7. A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)

A 2x3.5' and a 3x5.5' whiteboard with a rainbow's worth of whiteboard markers in different thicknesses for brainstorming, family trees, timelines. My sketchbook, a mechanical pencil, and YouTube drawing tutorials for my maps and concept art. MS Word, dark mode, Times New Roman pt 11, with comments enabled for my manuscripts, outlines (bullet points), and worldbuilding notes. Subfolders within subfolders stored on my PC to organize all my Word docs. Two separate USBs which my completed manuscripts are saved to (in case something happens to my computer AND one of the USBs).

I have yet to find any worldbuilding or map making software (and it hasn't been for lack of looking) that gives me enough flexibility. I have yet to find any writing software that has features Word doesn't but that would actually help my process rather than overwhelm me.

I do want to write out a draft of WIPVII by hand at some point (though with my penchant for writing hand cramps this might be doomed). I also want to try an electric typewriter.

8. A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc)

WIPVII doesn't have very complex worldbuilding (there is no magic and most of it is ripped from real world history) but I do always love it when authors tell us what way the wind is coming, what smells it carries, what the view is in the distance, whose lands those are... that kind of stuff. Really creates a sense of place. I spent a lot of time mapping all this out in my own novel and I am very happy with it! The description feels so rich!

9. What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?

Learn more about the craft. Writing is problem solving. If you aren't happy with something figure out why - the mechanics and technique behind writing. If you're still stuck learn even more. There are so many great, free resources on tumblr, youtube, blogs, pinterest (though it is most stolen from tumblr) even twitter and tiktok.

Also, learn how to filter out what advice is helpful now versus what should wait for later so you don't get overwhelmed. If you haven't even written a first draft yet don't bother with pacing, exposition, line editing, or let alone how to query. Just focus on the macro-stuff like plot and character arcs.

Preface: I am an 18+ blog, so minors don’t interact and keep scrolling

I know I was gonna do notes for the new Percy Jackson book, but in true Percy Jackson ADHD fashion, I stopped like a third of the way in bc it started feeling like a chore. And now I’m making this post days after finishing it 🤷🏻

But congratulations Rick Riordan on once again attracting his target reader audience

It was really good tho. If I wasn’t so bone tired lately, I would’ve finished it two days, but it took me like four lol. So if you have problems focusing on reading for long periods of time, this book is phenomenal (granted, I read oodles of college level books last year for my degree so middle grade is like a walk in the park but…my point still stands). This book is lower stakes than the original series, but if you love Percy as much as I do, this is great 😅😅 GIVE THAT BOY A BREAK

I’ll post a few spoilers below if you’re curious and nosey on what happens but don’t want to read the book. I encourage you to look up the general synopsis tho bc I’m not gonna write about that. This is gonna be my highlights.

Poseidon is a crocs and socks guy and I couldn’t be more happy. This is my biggest highlight. I’m not joking. Like of course he is. He’s also building an infinity pool in his underwater summer getaway which is just great. He’s trying to build a relationship ship with Percy so that’s great. Percy seems to be chill with that but he knows Poseidon’s gotta work for it.

Zeus being the reason why Percy’s gotta get 3 letters of recommendation. And why his first and only kite as a kid was struck down 😭😭😭

The existence of the restaurant Himbo Juice in this book surely means that Rick is aware of the femboy Hooters meme. Like I feel it in my nuggets

Percy and Annabeth sure are Percabeth-ing in this book and it gives me life. Like I can’t pinpoint an exact moment bc it’s everywhere.

I looooooove how Ganymede is painted as a victim of grooming in this book. Bc of course. And I looooove how Iris sympathizes with him bc she understands his situation and knows how he got an even worse deal than she did in his position. It’s also interesting how Riordan hops around this within the confines of middle grade fiction.

Also Ganymede feeling obligated to fill and top off everyone’s cups (demigod or not) was a nice touch

Iris has a demigod child that only loves monochrome and it’s killing her. Amazing

Sally Jackson is living her best life with Paul and is now a published author. AND SHE’S PREGNANT 😆😆😆😆😆😆 AND PERCY IS EXCITED TO BE A BIG BROTHER 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 oh I love it. Honestly, I could have a book just on that with him doing big brother babysitting.

Hebe has a Chuck E Cheese establishment called Hebe Jeebies where people can become younger as they play games and eat cardboard pizza. And she has killer chickens that will eat your flesh and conduct chicken fights. ALSO THE MAIN CUSTOMERS BEING BOOMERS BC THEY CANT GROW UP IS HILARIOUS. Burn.

When the trio was turned 8 temporarily, Percy was so anxious bc childhood trauma obvi. But Percy going “I don’t want to go through growing up again. I won’t. I’m so scared,” was owie.

In fact, Percy being so anxious he pressure washed (pressure bombed?) a cave is relatable. If every time I had a panic attack I became a pressure washer, my neighborhood street would be so clean.

The god of old age (whose name escapes me) being the one who stole the chalice made a lot of sense. AND PERCY EMBRACED HIM INSTEAD OF FIGHTING HIM BC HE WILL BE FIGHTING OLD AGE HIS WHOLE LIFE AND HE WANTS TO GROW OLD😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I was tearing up. I think this was really targeted toward the young adult/approaching middle age audience. Damn you Riordan

Percy broke into Zeus’ chamber in Olympus to return the chalice and the only god to notice him was Athena!!!!!! They literally went “👁️👄👁️ 👀” She’s more tolerant of Percy being Athena’s boyfriend now!!! It’s gettin serious

February - May 2008 | The Introduction of The Johns™️, Joe Bro and Emma Stone/The (Brief) Return of Liz & Julianne

February 5th

Taylor films for the show "Dance War" and recognizes Liz. She mentions something had always "stuck out" about her, and that she wishes her the best.

February 9th

Taylor does an interview with The Wallstreet Journal.

She is asked to name 5 of her most recent downloads.

She most notably mentions the song "Hero/Heroine" by the band Boys Like Girls, as well as Slow Dancing In A Burning Room by John Mayer.

Taylor's mention of the band inspires them to reach out to her.

February

Taylor writes "You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home," with the band's lead singer, Martin Johnson, for Hannah Montana The Movie.

Some context: Rumours of a relationship between Martin and Taylor have existed for years - said rumours were seemingly confirmed in 2016 by Ashley Tisdale. Though, she also states that Taylor told her she had never written any songs about Ashley's ex.

Ashley Tisdale's dating life is far less high profile than Taylor's.

So, her brief relationship with Martin from December 2011 - March 2012 is the only (public) relationship she could have been referencing in the clip.

Martin has also allegedly made several comments about his and Taylor's relationship.

In November of 2009, a comment was posted to an online message board that claimed that Martin had drunkenly revealed he had taken Taylor's virginity.

Earlier this year, another comment was left on a reddit post that claimed that he had come into this person's workplace, and ranted about how awful she was, and that the two had dated for 6 months.

Of course, there's no way to legitimately confirm whether he actually said these things (or whether they're true) but it's an important note.

He has also mentioned how his relationships during this time were primarily physical, as he and the girls he was dating were so similar that they ran out of things to talk about.

March

Taylor sees Julianne Hough at an event and the two are pictured together.

Taylor records Love Story about a guy her parents disapprove of.

This guy is believed to be Martin.

However, though the song was recorded in 2008, Taylor (59:15) and her mother (3:30) have both insisted that it was written when Taylor was 17 (2007) before she met Martin.

The actual muse for the song is once again unclear.

Regardless of if Martin inspired the song, if the two were genuinely together at any point in time (which I believe they were) , February - April is, in my opinion, the most likely time for it to have happened; though it is important to note that Boys Like Girls were on the road as openers for Avril Lavigne during this time, so interactions between Martin and Taylor would've been limited. Martin was also living in Brooklyn at the time, while Taylor was living in Nashville.

March 26th

Taylor is interviewed by Billboard and is once again asked about her music taste.

She once again mentions both Boys Like Girls and John Mayer (as well as... Kanye West).

She even goes so far as to state that "Hero/Heroine" is her current ringtone.

April

Taylor films her Once Upon a Prom MTV special, and is seen wearing Boys Like Girls merchandise in the studio (2:30).

April 27th

Taylor meets Emma Stone (the believed inspiration behind When Emma Falls In Love, and depending on who you ask, Enchanted) at The Young Hollywood Awards.

During the writing process of Speak Now, Emma dated (fell in looooove with) Teddy Geiger (2007-2009) and Kiernan Culkin (2010-2011).

She and Andrew Garfield did not start going out until 2011, after Taylor had finished writing the album (sorry to break it to you stonefield (???) truthers).

Prior to performing the song, Taylor stated she wrote it about one of her best friends, solidifying that Emma Stone is the inspiration (yes, I'm aware she has friendships with both Emma Roberts and (apparently) Emma Watson, but c'mon).

May 5th

Taylor meets John Mayer at the Met Gala and later gushes about it in a now deleted interview with People Magazine.

Some more context: In 2010, while presenting Taylor with the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame, John Mayer explained that prior to meeting Taylor, he would consistently ask those within her circle who was "really" writing her songs. Each of them responded with "she is" yet despite this, he did not believe them, nor did he believe Taylor when she gave the same answer upon being asked the question, until she quite literally wrote one in front of him (0:40).

So, putting that into perspective: 30-year-old John Mayer (who did not believe Taylor wrote her own songs) introduced himself to 18-year-old Taylor Swift (who looked up to him as a songwriting hero) over 6 months prior to him reaching out to collaborate.

May 11th

Taylor writes a journal entry about meeting a bunch of celebrities, though she does not mention John.

The Jonas Brothers film their Burnin' Up music video, and Joe Jonas' love interest bares a striking resemblance to Taylor.

Nick's is played by Selena (who he was dating at the time), so the love interests are significant.

So, either Joe and Taylor were like.. kind of a thing, or Joe had a bit of a crush (or maybe their publicists set it up. I don't know these people).
