i keep having an issue where my game loads pretty quickly, it runs pretty smoothly, but when i "save as" it ends up saving forever (and a new save is not actually generated in my folders). i end up having to force close the game in task manager.

it completely kills the joy of playing for me because it's like what's the point of having all these worlds and lots and sims and gameplay mods if i can't actually save my progress in anything? you know?

i playtested a day in bridgeport with a completely empty mods folder and it runs and saves perfectly fine. so i think the issue is just that my mods folder is too big (currently at 10 to 12 gb). i guess i am gonna have to significantly declutter my mods folder if i want to be able to actually play the game :(

i was having the not-saving-after-a-day-of-gameplay issue in empty worlds too (eltham's drift) so i think it's a mods folder issue, not a world issue.

this problem was driving me crazy over the last few days. at least i finally figured out the cause.

Joining a fandom late/during a dry spell is a double-edged sword.
