What were you doing at 10:30 this morning?: Sending out my last few emails before we had an all-day workshop at work. We had a mock pitch presentation contest of sorts and my team won 1st place :)

I haven’t seen her since before the pandemic started, but she’s one of my lowkey friendships and we’ve always remained quietly supportive of one another even as we’ve started leading our own, separate lives. She’s very perky, loves David Archuleta, and is a great singer and also skilled at the piano.

So, how are you? Is there anything wrong?: I’m okay. Very tired from today’s events and I even had a TERRIBLE headache all afternoon, but I’m in bed now answering surveys with the aircon right in front of me and that’s all that matters.

How do you handle awkward situations?: Idk, it depends on the situation and where I am and what options I have lol. Most of the time my awkward situations happen at PR events where the person I’m talking to is shyer than expected – in those cases, I’ll pretend to get a text or be like, “oh sorry, let me just take care of something but feel free to go around the venue and take some photos before we start!” hahaha. Who is the most intelligent person you know?: Andi.

Who was the last female you were introduced to?: Ruthie, my newest teammate at work. She’ll be replacing one of my associates who’ll be having her last day this Wednesday.

What was your first impression of her?: I got super excited when I saw that her laptop bag has a big Tata print on it, but when I got to talk to her a bit more, she seems super quiet. Hopefully she gets to open up once we get to start working more together!

A/n: Okay, so this got… A little intense. I was able to water it down a lot, but please look over the warnings and take them seriously. Hope you enjoy it none the less, Nonny. Also. My autocorrect keeps trying to change “eye” to “eyes” and I’m sorry if I miss some of those. This fic is dark (much less so now than it was originally) and I am sorry. I don’t support anything in this fic and it is not meant to glamorize.

When you came to, your head was pounding. You tried to yawn, but you couldn’t seem to open your mouth. You tried to see what was stopping you, but you couldn’t move your hands. Your eyes opened, but you couldn’t see. You started to whimper, struggling to get out of your bindings.

“Oh good, yer awake. Fuckin’ finally,” a man’s voice said.

A chill ran down your spine as you realized the position you were in. The hood you didn’t know was on your head was removed, and you found yourself face to face with a man you didn’t know. The sudden light was blinding, and you struggled to keep your eyes open from the sudden light.

“Oh, what the hell,” the man grumbled. “I told ‘em none of this tape on the mouth shit.” He reached over, working a bit off to grab. “This is gonna hurt, darlin’,” he said before immediately ripping off the duct tape, causing you to let out a loud but short shout from pain. “Exactly why I told ‘em not to fuck with that shit,” he sighed, crouching down so the two of you were eye-level. “How are ya? Ya feelin’ okay?” His tone was softer, more concerned, as if he actually cared about you.

“I—”

“Juuuust kiddin’,” he said before standing up. “I don’t give two shits. Yer pops probably does, though.” He looked down at you and you looked up at him, speechless. “Oh, ya didn’t know? Yer dad’s neck deep in with the yakuza, sweetheart. Owes a lot of money to a lot of people, including me.

“I thought, ‘Maybe if I take his kid he’ll know I mean business,’ but so far that ain’t been the case. ‘Course, ya ain’t been here too long, maybe he just needs some time.” His eye raked your body, taking in every ounce of what you had to offer. He’d be lying If he said he wasn’t attracted. You were so quiet that he was a little surprised.

Truth was, you were embarrassed. You hadn’t worn these pajamas expecting to get kidnapped, but who ever expects to get kidnapped? You were in maroon short shorts, a sports bra, and a white tank-top. Panties, too, of course, but nothing that was fun or exciting just plain and black, matching the sports bra.

Memories of getting here were nonexistent. The last thing you remembered was laying down in bed to sleep. You, again, tried to move your hand to your pounding head and found it couldn’t move. That was when you started to assess your surroundings.

The man continued to watch you; being under his gaze made you feel like a small rabbit about to be devoured by a mad dog. You felt small, afraid. The look in his eye was enough to chill your soul. “Ya realizin’ the mess yer in now?” The man asked, pulling up a chair you hadn’t noticed and sitting in it. You were starting to panic as you looked around the room. “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt ya.” You were tied to a chair, arms bound behind you and legs bound to the respective legs of the chair you were in. Another rope was tied around your chest, just under your breasts. You struggled a little bit.

“Well, not yet at least,” the man sighed. “Yer just… So delicious to look at.” The man’s eye raked your body again, stopping at your chest for a moment before lowering, pausing again and then meeting your gaze again. “I could eat ya right up,” he grinned wickedly at you.

“Maybe I will,” he said, still grinning.

You tried to meld with the chair, hoping to get as far away from him as possible, but that wasn’t possible.

“But not yet,” he said, sounding too happy, clapping his hands once as he stood up. “Let’s get ya some water. Gotta stay hydrated, after all.”

You blinked, watching this enigma of a man as he walked out of the room you were being held in. You took the moment too look around and fully take in your surroundings. There was a bed, a hook in the ceiling, and a chain on the ground with the far end connected to the floor that had a cuff on the other end. “What kind of sick place is this?” You gulped as your gaze shifted to the windowless cinderblock walls that surrounded you.

When the door opened you jumped and yelped.  

“Here’s yer water. Gotcha a straw,” he said with a proud grin, as if the straw was a thoughtful gesture when you were literally tied to a chair in a room that looked like it belonged in a horror movie.

“Thanks,” you muttered, sipping the water through the straw.

“’Course!” He smiled at you. “Gotta keep ya hydrated, like I said.” He continued to hold the cup and straw for you until you finished. “There ya go,” the man said with a smile. You just stared at him. “Alright. Let’s try callin’ yer dad and see if he’s gonna pay up now.” He took out his phone and called, holding it to his ear.

“Ahhh, Mr. Y/L/N, yeah?” the man said into the phone. You could only hear half of the conversation. “Good. I got yer kid here. Ya ready to pay yer debt yet?” A pause, the man’s face turning sour. “Fine, here.” He pulled the phone away from his ear and put your father on speakerphone.

“Y/n?” Your father’s voice asked, sounding a bit worried.

“Dad,” you gasped, not really expecting to hear your father. “Dad? Is that you? I don’t know where I am. Please help!

“Ohmygod, Y/n!” He was sufficiently panicked, and the man took the phone back holding it up to his ear.

“Easy, easy, Y/L/N-san. Focus.” Majima’s face contorting in frustration. “I said to calm the fuck down!” He shouted into the phone, looking pleased as he continued. “That’s better. Now, when I can I expect yer payment?” A pause, another sour face. “Do ya really think Imma let ya have until tomorrow when yer just gonna skip town. Ya got two hours, otherwise I’m keepin’ the girl.” The man hung up the phone, sliding it into his pocket. “I guess we’ll haveta see if yer Dad thinks yer worth payin’ his debt for.” He paused, looking you up and down again. “I’d pay for ya.”

You squirmed, looking away. He knelt down in front of you and looked into your eyes with his eye, watching you curiously. “I might have some fun with ya later. We’ll see. For now, I gotta get some work done. Tata~” He said, standing up and waving as he walked out the door. A moment later he came back in. “I almost forgot.” He pulled your chair over, clasping the cuff around your ankle and then cutting the ropes off that had you tied to the chair, freeing your wrists as well. “There, that’s gotta feel better.” You just stared at him, unable to move in fear. “Alright. Bye, for realsies this time, Y/n-chan~!” He walked out, waving again and you were left sitting in your chair, still too deep in shock to do anything.

What felt like hours passed and you stayed in the chair, still coming to terms with what happened and where you were. You had always thought that you would be stronger in this situation, that you would fight back – but you weren’t, and you didn’t. You just sat in your chair, rubbing your wrists, and feeling the cold metal of your ankle cuff on your skin. You felt tears floating around in your eyes, looking around as the reality of your situation settled in.

Eventually you stood up, walking around to see how far your chain would allow you to go. Not very far. You couldn’t reach any of the walls, and you could barely reach the bed and lay on it. You couldn’t even get near the door, not that you could break it down if you could reach it. From the look of it and how it sounded when it closed, it was solid wood.

You settled on sitting on the bed, looking up at the hook in the ceiling, wondering what it was for. Images of hanging slabs of meat floated through your mind and you looked away, trying to find something else to distract yourself with.

It shocked you that you weren’t crying. At this point you didn’t feel scared or sad enough to cry; you just felt numb. You didn’t feel like you were in your body. You laid down, resting you hear on the shitty flat pillow, curling up in the fetal position for warmth since there was no blanket, and closed your eyes.

/// You were awoken by the angry slam of the door and the one-eyed man looked even more angry than he had when he was on the phone. “Yer dad still ain’t payin’. Do ya know what that means?” You shook your head. “Means I gotta rough ya up a bit to show Daddy just how much I mean what I’m tellin’ him.”

You heard your dad’s voice panicking on the phone and your stomach turned sour. You cowered on the bed, not sure what was coming. The man set his phone down, climbing onto the bed with a pair of handcuffs he pulled out of his back pocket, wrestling with you until your hands were cuffed together and you were crying. What was he going to do to you?

“Majima! Don’t touch her!” Your father’s voice called out.

So this one-eyed monster had a name, and that name was Majima.

He grabbed the cufflinks and pulled you off the bed, bringing you below the hook and effortlessly putting the links into it. You tried to wiggle out of it, but you could barely touch the floor on your tiptoes, and the hook was too high to maneuver the links over it. You whimpered, knowing whatever he was going to do next was something.

“I gotta say, Mr. Y/L/N, yer daughter is… well. Ya see what I’m seein’ ain’tcha? That tank top is just… So tight. Leaves nothin’ to the imagination. Them shorts are just…” Majima’s voice trailed off and he looked over to the phone on the chair. “Ah, s’pose not. Lemme fix that.” He maneuvered the chair and phone so he could see exactly what was happening.

“Let’s begin,” the man said, pulling out a tanto, unsheathing it.

You heard your father protest, but you couldn’t understand him. Your heartbeat was whooshing in your head as you feared the worst was coming.

He was going to rape you, wasn’t he?

“Da—Dad?” You whimpered, crying. “Dad—Dad please don’t let—”

“All yer dad has to do is pay me what I’m owed, and then yer free to go,” Majima assured, approaching you. “I don’ wanna hurt ya, but I gotta get my money. Sorry, darlin’.”

“Let—Let me go home, please! Please! I won’t tell anyone! I won’t!” You begged, crying. “Please don’t—”

“This is yer dad’s doin’. All he hasta do is pay. Once he pays, yer free!” Majima laughed. “Easy as that.”

“MAJIMA!” Your dad shouted; you closed your eyes when you heard his voice crack.

You felt the tip of the blade against the skin of your neck. It wasn’t pressed enough to draw blood, but you tilted your head back in an effort to pull back from it, it didn’t work. Majima looked to his phone, and your eyes followed, seeing yourself on the screen and trying not to shriek. The blade slowly slid down to your collarbones, tracing the edges of them. You continued to whimper.

“Last chance, Y/L/N-san,” Majima’s eye was raking your body yet again, and you felt his hand playing with the fabric of your tank top. “It’s like she dressed this way just ta tease me,” he sighed, removing the blade and replacing it with his lips. “She tastes good, too,” he continued to kiss and lick your neck, maneuvering to each side. As you tried to get away, you only gave him more access. At one point he grabbed your throat. “Quit. Moving.” You did, closing your eyes and whimpering some more.

By this time, you were sobbing. You knew what was coming, and you were powerless to stop it.

“MAJIMA! STOP IT!” Your father shouted again, falling on deaf ears.

“If yer neck tastes this good, I can’t wait ta try yer pussy,” Majima growled, causing you to whimper louder, trying to lean away. He back away for a moment, turning to look at his phone, making sure your father had a good view. “Well, Daddy, what should I take first?” He asked, tapping his chin with the flat of the blade.

“Majima, please! I’ll pay! Just give me a little—”

“Ya had yer time,” Majima responded so coldly that it felt like the room temperature dropped.

He approached you, your crying and sobbing having shifted to tears and mindless babble that was begging him to stop. He wasn’t going to. He took your tank top in one hand and used the tanto to start cutting your shirt off. Once it was completely ripped open, he took another step back. You were sobbing, looking at the floor. Terrified and ashamed of what was happening.

“What’s next, Y/L/N?” Majima asked, looking at the phone, listening to your father beg him to stop. “You keep beggin’ me to stop, but you beggin’ ain’t gettin’ yer debt erased.”

“I’ll give you my home, my car, my daughter— just don’t make me watch this anymore!” Your father begged.

Majima hesitated, and it took you a moment to process what

“Deal.” He hung up the phone, looking at you, watching you cry for a moment before unlocking the cuffs. “I can’t believe that fuckin’ asshole would sell his own kid like that,” he grumbled. “She’s yer kid, dipshit, yer supposed to protect her, not sell her to clear yer fuckin’ debts.”

You didn’t care, you were just crying. You fell to the ground once you were no longer being held up by the cuffs. Majima caught you, rubbing your back as you clung to him. It was strange, clinging for comfort to the man you were sure was going to rape you not even a full minute ago. Yet, here you are, clinging to him. He picked you up, carrying you to the bed and sat you down, undoing the ankle cuff and then sitting on the bed next to you. You leaned away from him.

“I wasn’ gonna hurt ya,” Majima sighed. “Just hadta make yer dad think I was. Figured he’d pay that way, can’t say I expected him to sell ya to me.” You dived into his arms, sobbing violently. “Shhh… It’s okay,” he assured, resting his cheek against your head as you cried.

All you wanted was to wake up in your bed back in your apartment. That you could call your dad and tell him what you dreamt about and how much it hurt. He’d comfort you; tell you that would never happen, that you were more important money or material items. That wasn’t going to happen, though.

All you could do was cry, waiting for Majima to decide what he was going to do with you.

A/N:  Written for @the-ss-horniest-book-club​ endless quarantine as long as there are prompts we’ll write them thingy, and a prompt from @prunes-said-bucky​.  I’ve never written Sebastian before, never really considered it TBH, since he’s not just a character to play with but hey, I gave it a shot.  Hope it’s not horrific.

Warnings:  Angst, body shaming, emotional hurt/comfort, fluff, strong and confident plus size reader, emotional support, kissing and teasing, no smut.

Sebastian slumped back in his chair.  The computer screen glared at him accusingly as bile rose in his throat.  He did this.  He failed to protect you.  His career, and the whole shebang that went with it; toxic.

There were good parts, hell, there were great parts, but this… this wasn’t one of them.  His fans were usually great.  Kind, accepting, fun, keen, and dedicated.  He loved Winter’s Children and gave as much of himself as he could while maintaining a balance that kept him sane.

You were part of that. Far removed from the lime light, you were a nobody.  A regular person.  Not tied to the entertainment industry in anyway other than being his girlfriend. The world barely knew you existed and he worked hard to keep it that way.

Until now.

“Hey, sweetie!”  You knocked on the study door after letting yourself into his apartment, peeking in to see him at his desk.  “You need anything?  I’m just about to make some fresh coffee.”  You smiled knowingly; he loved his coffee

“Oh, hey, yeah sure.” Sebastian scrambled to shut the screen off so you wouldn’t see what he was reading.  “Thanks, babe.”  He smiled back.

“Oooohh, was that porn?” You smirked, coming to stand behind him, resting your hands on his shoulders and feeling tension there.  “Discovering something new you want to try, huh?”  You teased a little to lighten the mood. Something had him stressed out.

He sighed, leaning his head back to rest against your stomach.  From there he looked up at you, past your boobs, with worry in his big blue eyes.

“I wish it was porn.”

“Skype audition not go so well?”  You massaged his taut trapezius until he moaned lightly, relaxing under your touch.  You slid your hands into the neck of his shirt, smoothing them over his chest, feeling the light prickle of stubble where his chest hair was starting to grow back in.  “Want to talk about it?”

He wrapped his hands around your wrists, stilling you gently.  The nervous lick of his lips concerned you.

“Oh, the audition went great.”  He sat up, swivelling his chair to face you where he tugged on your hips to sit you across his lap.  “It’s what came after that I need to talk to you about.”

You could see something was really eating him up but you let him get to it in his own time.

“I spoke to Elaine.”

“Social media manager, Elaine?”  You knew every member of team of people who Sebastian relied on in his career. Elaine had been with Seb for years, helping him managing his social media presence, and she was very good at what she did.

“Right.”  He stroked your lower back absently.  “Well, I called her because some pictures got out.  Of us.”

You knew he tried to keep you separate from all the media stuff.  He needed a safe haven, and he also didn’t want to ruin your life with paparazzi hounding you and gossip sites dissecting your whole existence.

“Of the other week when we went out comet watching and ended up getting jiggy in the back of your car?” You teased.

He laughed, scrunching his face up in that cute way you loved.  “No.”  He grinned. “Surprisingly, not that.”

“Phew,” you play acted utter relief, “thank heavens my tatas didn’t make it onto TMZ.”

“You’re amazing, you know that right?”  He squeezed his arms around your waist.

“Yeah, I know,” you beamed, “caught you, hook, line and sinker, didn’t I?”  You murmured into his hair, pressing a kiss there.  “What’s up?”

“I don’t really know how to deal with this, y/n.  It’s everything I’ve always tried to shield you from.”

You tightened your arms around his shoulders, reassuringly.  This really wasn’t like him at all.  “Just show me.”

 The pictures were fine. Seb and you, sat on a wall by the banks of the Danube, eating charcoal black ice cream in the sun.  Holding hands by the stalls of a street market. Him stealing a kiss while you laughed at something he said.  They were older photos from a trip you took to Romania the year before.  You smiled, remembering the fun you had there.  Seb’s boy-like exuberance as he rediscovered his country of birth with you.  They were great memories.

It was the bitchy comments that he was concerned about.

You glanced through the comments.  Most were positive but some were brutal.  You could see why he was upset by these.  He cared a great deal about his fans but this was making him consider if it was worth the effort.

Sebastian swallowed nervously, looking up into your eyes.

“You’re worried about how I feel about this?”

“Of course I am.”  His tone was pleading.  “I love you.  I never wanted you to get dragged into any of this crap, but look at them!”  He was getting agitated.  “I’m going to tell Elaine to take it all down, I’m done.”

“What’s that going to prove, huh?”  You soothed.

“Nothing.  But it’ll be gone, right?  No more fan stuff if they can’t respect both of us.”

“I dunno, it seems a shame to deprive your good and loyal fans of their sexy seabass,” you winked at him, “besides if the things people did online got to me I’d have drawn a line in the sand at some of that filthy dirty fan fiction they like to write.”

“C’mon, y/n, I’m being serious,” he begged with his eyes.  “They can’t talk about you like this.  It’s shitty and they’re completely wrong.”

“Babe.”  You levelled a steady gaze at him.  “I don’t care what these people think.”  Stroking your fingers soothingly through his hair, you scratched and massaged gently.  “The only people whose opinions matter about any of that stuff are right here in this room, okay?”

Seb sighed and hid his face in your plush bosom, and for a while neither of you spoke.  He relaxed, breathing slowing until you thought he’d fallen asleep.  You trailed your fingers across the back of his neck and to the sensitive place below his ear.

“If you keep at that there’s going to be trouble.”  Muffled against your chest you could feel him smirking.

“I like trouble.”  You whispered with a cheeky grin as he lifted his head.

“Thanks for distracting me.” He stretched up to place a chaste kiss on your lips.  “I think I know what to do.”

“Oh?”  You chuckled as he scooted the wheels of the chair closer to the desk with you still in his lap.  You tried to give him some space but he held you firm.

“Stay put,” he shifted so you were stable again, “this’ll take 2 seconds.”

Sebastian fired off an email to Elaine, letting her know everything was fine.  You weren’t concerned by the comments but he suggested letting a few of his top most trusted fans to help moderate the official site.  Let them get invested in the two of you as a facet of his brand.  You were definitely here to stay.

He counted himself the luckiest man alive to have found someone so caring, kind and gentle as you, but also someone so confident and steadfast.  Your spirit was unbreakable.  You were his rock, the foundations on which he grew and thrived.

 “So, now that you’re done righting wrongs, what’s the plan for today?”  You asked sweetly.  “You asked me to sleep over on a work day, so…”

“Well, first of all,” he eyed you mischievously, “I’m going to reiterate how much I love every single inch of you.”

Saat Phere and Radha

A strange sense of thrill infused Diya and Rishaan on their visit to Goa that day. There had been an agreement between them at dinner time when Diya had announced her decision to ring her marriage bells in front of the God in the ISKCON (Krishna) temple, Goa at the time of deep-aradhana.

“If Kate can solemnize her marriage in ISKCON (Krishna) temple, Goa, so can I,” she had argued passionately.

Rishaan was griped in upset voices, “Kate is the daughter of an IAS officer. She can have that luxury and resources.”

Kate was the best friend of Diya and used to come every day and both used to bolt themselves in the room of Diya for hours.

“Besides,” she added, provoking him deliberately, “In the eyes of God, we all are equal, IAS or no IAS.” She was not rather sure whether he had listened to this bit, for he had already turned away in antipathy. But after dinner she caught him again.

“That horrid Mission school she attended to” which meant he had heard….”She was a spoilt child,” she caught him murmuring.

She was convinced that he had not taken her seriously. That was the trouble with men: they always presumed that women are not sharp enough in such matters and if they would accept their intelligence and ability unquestionably, their manliness will be dimmed.

But women have to endure such inadequacy without complaint. Even back home she had to come back before the evening flurry of lamp-lighting started. But boys at home were free of this burden.

Diya cried a lot. She did not know how time passed by. She was not emotionally strong.

Rishaan approached her and touched her shoulder. She shrugged and started crying inconsolably.

“Why are you crying?” He asked.

“Sit down and listen me carefully.” She said.

She then showed him an old photograph of her and Rishaan sitting in a temple.

That photograph took him to their past days spent together. A past full of sweet memories.

She was his sweet love; his angel. His everything. Everything of her’s will be his’.

His heart was melted. Love became victorious.

She wept as she held his hand.

She bolted the door so that he might not leave the room.

“Don’t say no to ISKCON (Krishna) temple, Goa. I love you,” were her passionate words.

She kept on repeating her wish but Rishaan was hesitant to go to ISKCON (Krishna) temple, Goa, to solemnize their marriage.

Not everything in life had a reason, to say yes. He lost out to her emotions. He ultimately surrendered and said ‘Yes.’

She inspired him in every possible way. She became a motivational force. He started dreaming. She gave his life a motto. A dream. A dream to be lived and conquered.

They booked tickets to Goa by Tata Airlines.

The great day came. They were very excited. At the right time they reached the airport and boarded the plane. They were very happy. But all hell broke.

In the same flight Rishaan met his old friend Kiarra and her seat was also with them. After initial introductory formalities, Kiara became very informal with Rishaan. They had drinks together too but Diya did not like all this at all. After dinner, all slept.

In the middle of the flight, Kiara woke up to go the washroom. When she returned, she was too lazy to push her way into the middle seat. And with Rishaan readily offering to shift seats, the seating arrangement changed. With 20 minutes still remaining for the flight to land, a sleep starved Kiara took another power nap, this time holding Rishaan's right hand more firmly. Rishaan's other hand, though, nervously moved to touch Diya's. Her heart skipped a beat. Diya pulled her hand away. But a defiant Rishaan held her wrist again, this time firmly and more reassuringly. The changing behavioral dynamics between the three perhaps gave out a foreboding of what was to come in Goa. When the flight landed at the Dabolim Airport, Rishaan felt uncanny..his excitement seemed replaced by an unknown fear that he found very difficult to decipher.

They reached the hotel Sea View.

Rishaan was in a dilemma, for the storm brewing in the hearts of all. He was trying to recollect the past of his life but was shocked that he couldn’t recollect even a thing. His mind was not working. Initially he thought, he was yet to awake from his deep slumber. But that was not the case. He realized that he did not know who he was. His mind became blank. In the brightness of the day in Goa, he was feeling darkness of night.

The clock struck four and Kiara could see the sun rise. Bringing with it the pink rays of the dawn and pushing the dark night and stars out. She had spent hours introspecting about herself and was still hovering in dark about hers and Rishaan relationship.

Her mind went numb and cold. During the tense hours of night only Scotch gave her much needed solace. She quickly gulped the alcohol, from the bottle directly. She could feel the Scotch running through her veins to the brain. The alcohol opened her mental faculties and it dawned upon her she was going to break a relationship and two hearts.

“But who am I?” Wondered Kiara. Her brain was flooded with millions of questions about her relationships with Rishaan. “Was I simple friend, or ‘X’, or an ordinary acquaintance…..Who was I?” She knew, even Rishaan or Diya in the hotel room would not be able to answer her puzzle. She was in a muddle. There was no one else, except those three. That reality added to her distress as her question was to remain unanswered. She felt claustrophobic in the room and rushed out of the room in the dark night.

The fresh morning breeze brought about some peace and comfort to her mind. She felt silly that it did not strike to her to ask Rishaan and Diys about their relationship and future plan. They would have ridiculed her for asking such a ridiculous question. She was broken, but she was not the one to give up so easily.

Kiara gathered courage to ask this question to Rishaan. He was her only hope and that was to be a clue about her future. Suddenly Rishaan also can out of the room. When Kiara saw Rishaan, her eyes filled with tears and she hugged him saying, “Rishaan, I know, you have got Diya in your life!” Her statement came as a shock, yet she gave comfort to Rishaan that she had admitted the reality.

She asked him, “How am I related to you?”

He replied very coldly, “You are my ex-girlfriend.”

Out came another question from her, “Since when were you dating Diya?”

He answered, “Since more than a year.”

Then she probed him about their future.

That was the stupidest mistake Rishaan made since he revealed his relationship with Diya, because, after that she started blabbering.

Rishaan had no option, but to listen her. It was crucial to listen to his ex-girlfriend. Her voice was very sad. Rishaan got lost in his past days spent with Kiarra.

She almost shouted, “Are you listening to me?”

“Yes, dear,” Rishaan muttered.

In a high voice, she posed like a school teacher, “OK, now tell me, what you heard?”

Initially, he faltered, but regaining his confidence, he started talking.

She became very emotional and said, “You don’t have to be worried Rishaan. You enjoy. Calm down please.

Then she opened her mouth full of pain, “You have cheated me.” She said.

Gathering courage, Rishaan said, “No one was at fault. It was destiny.”

“Yes for men, it was easy to blame destiny and go away.” She replied.

“Please enlighten me, how did I cheat you?” Asked Rishaan.

Rishaan was shattered when he heard her say that he enjoyed physical relations with her.

Again he was stunned and scared. His hands started shaking. She said how she gave you blowjob and he removed all her clothes.

“What non-sense! It was your consent too.” He said in utter astonishment and bewilderment.

“Yes,’yes, but now you are dating a new girl,” she retorted.

“What next? Please tell me? How I cheated you and played with your body?” He shouted angrily.

“Wasn’t this enough?” She asked angrily.

He said,” Please tell me everything; I have forgotten everything my dear?”

She sniggered and said, “Ok, listen, but calm down, you need to mentally prepare yourself for this. Again I will repeat my love making to remind you, how you cheated me and played with me?”

Rishaan was shocked and stunned. He could not speak nor could stay there. Rishaan tried to run inside the room.

Suddenly she said, “Listen, all that was a joke.”

Rishaan heaved a sigh of relief.

She said, “You were always very nice and decent with me.”

That gave her a sense of pleasure. “I told her you were exceptionally mischievous in love making.”

She gave him a naughty smile and said, “You were generic.”

He felt that his mind was blocked because of that ‘Scotch’ he had last night with her.\

Rishaan felt heavy. She came close to him, petted on his cheek and said, “Listen carefully, I always thwarted the idea of falling for you, but my heart always pulled me towards you. I could not resist your charm.”

Shocked on these revelations, he sat on the bench and listened more carefully to her.

“I was mesmerized by your charm. Sometimes you became cranky. But I made you happy by my foreplay. But I always saw a gap in you.” She told.

“You never talked about your love for Diya whenever I asked you about your any affair. You always looked at my breast cleave,” saying this she revealed her breast cleave.

Rishaan was puzzled by her behavior, he asked, “What is this?”

She shouted at Rishaan, “Get out of your stupidity. It is time to come out of your innocence and understand things.”

He felt that she would cry or shout on him. So Rishaan prepared for her outburst.

“You never told me that you have another one in your life.”

I asked, “What? Where is your frustration heading?”

“Do you think that I am stupid or a whore to quench your lust?” she retorted.

“No, no. We were both drunk and both young, so all the wrong thing done.” He replied very coolly.

This was followed by a volley of abuses for me. Her word started hitting his heart like a sharp javelin.

He gathered courage and apologized to her, “I’m sorry Kiara,”

“Only sorry? Man has got the license to plunder a woman and leave her. God bless you and Diya and protect you.” She said in a loud voice and left him spellbound.

Kiara, silently left the hotel room. She reached the ISKCON (Krishna) temple. She arrived at the abode of Lord Krishna. She saw the majestic door of the temple. She knew about the temple. The idol inside was infinitely more beautiful than the ones in other temples.

She circled the majestic temple slowly and slowly. Her mind was full of new and different ideas. Some were good and some were bad. Then she almost ran along the long, bright wall, inviting the curious attention of passers-by, but who could not keep up with her. The river of tears ran through her eyes.

The eastern frontage of the temple enchanted Kiaara. She reached the holy water tank which has the collection of waters from different holy rivers. The jade green-clean water attracted her. In the enclosed area, reserved for women bathing, women were taking holy dips without any hesitation and shame, chanting holy hymns. They were thumping each other on body and back.

Pigeons whirled and cooed on the roof top, the walls. The dawn and early, pink sunlight, their incredible mix of spiritualism and mysticism, inside the conical hall and inner sanctuary, clutched to her heart making her forget her past and her attachment to Rishaan. Quickly she moved through the temple. Standing in front of the majestic idol of Lord Krishna, she almost felt like lost in Him. She felt fabulously isolated there, floating breathtakingly between earth and sky. The bathers in the tank were just floating souls, the pigeons flying white-black-red in the sky, she felt like one with them.

But her feet were turning cool and heavy. The muhurt of deep-aradhana was near. She stood up in front of the idol, hand folded, eyes closed. She touched the deep-pole three times for good-luck, moved swiftly, bowing her head in obeisance. She bowed a dutiful greeting to the majestic Lord Krishna, folded her hands and touched her eyes before the white, visible Krishna and swiftly moved towards the crowded main sanctuary. A memorable fragrance of deep oil and flowers welcomed her. All the devotees stood in front, their eyes closed, their lips moving in an ecstasy of mesmerizing hymns.

She saw big bell above. She leaped up, pushed the bell with one echoing sound and was down the steps before anybody understood what was happening. She sat on the steps of the temple. Love or relationship with Rishaan became inextricably mixed up with serious bonding for her own newly acquired spiritual salvation. She was unaware of the surroundings. She was feeling amazingly light-hearted, wonderfully contented. She decided to stay back in the temple.

She was in dire disgrace. She contacted the head priest Pundit Krishna Das. She took diksha.Her tight-lipped silence was infinitely more expressively than speech. For the silence seemed filled with thousand voices singing within her. And she was quite and quite sure that the all merciful Lord Krishna within the temple will protect her and bless her, in whose eyes all are equal, and He has accepted her with love. Now she was a sadhvi. Ma Radha to the world.

Kiara was singing and dancing with devotees. She reached near the main idol of Lord for darshan.In the main hall, in front of the idol head priest Pundit Krishna Das was reciting;

“Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye, Shive Sarvartha Sadhike,

Sharanye Trayambake Gauri Narayani Namo-stute”.

And a young pair was taking pheresaround agni (Fire). Groom was in white dhoti-kurta and bride was in red sari. Both were knotted by a pink chunri. Pundit ji further recited in loud voice;

Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Kaaryessu Sarvadaa

At the completion of seven auspicious phres all threw flower petals and auspicious yellow rice over the newlywed couple. Kiara, now sadhvi Ma Radha, in saffron attire also threw flower petals and yellow rice, with eyes closed. When Kiara opened her eyes, she found in front of her, Rishaan and Diya as groom and bride.

     “You seem happy today,” I remarked, as Jamie squashed me in a big hug on Wednesday morning.  He did indeed seem to be especially buoyant.  He had cheerfully made breakfast, packed us lunches, swept the kitchen floor, and even watered my garden for me. 

      “I am,” he said.  “Today is the day, and I have plans.” 

      “You do?” I said.  I knew exactly what he meant.  I don’t think I’d ever been so glad to have my period end.  Already, I felt a sense of anticipation of freely making love with no worries.

      “Aye, ye better prepare yourself to be romanced, Ripālle.”  Somehow his words made me feel all shivery inside, and he chuckled at the way I squirmed. 

      “What in the world do you mean?” I asked.

      “Well, I realized I’ve never taken ye on a date,” Jamie said.  “That didna seem right to me.  So, as I said, I have plans.” He grinned, appearing extremely proud of himself.

      “A date?” I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.  “How shall I dress for this date?”

      “I think…” Jamie pretended to be contemplating, “I think, um, dressy island wear might be appropriate.”

      “And when should I be ready for this date?” I asked.

      “Let’s say, 6 o’clock?  Half hour before sunset?” 

      “Do I need to stay out of the apartment today, or at least this afternoon?” I asked him.

      “What kind of man do ye think I am?” Jamie said, indignantly.  “I take ye on a date to our kitchen?”

      “It wouldn’t be horrible,” I said.  “It’s not like there are any restaurants or theatres to go to.”

      “Nah,” he said.  “I have better plans than that.”  He was giddy, and it was adorable.

     Just then there was a knock on the door.  Jamie answered it, and we saw a small boy with long black hair flopping in his eyes, shyly looking downward.  Jamie squatted down to his level so he wouldn’t look so terrifying.  The little boy spoke so quietly that I couldn’t hear him at all. 

      “Koṃṃool, Abner,” Jamie said.

      “Kon jouj,” the little boy said.  ‘Con zhush’ meant ‘you’re welcome’, if I recalled correctly.

     Jamie turned back to me.  “Looks like you may have to use sign language or the Marshallese-English dictionary today.  Sharbella has morning sickness, and Abner says she’s not going to make it for clinic today.”

      “That’s okay,” I said.  My heart had sunk momentarily, but I realized it was probably good for me. “You and Sharbella keep on teaching me words, and I made out my cheat sheet for medical terminology, anyway.  It’ll be good practice for me.”  Jamie cocked his head and smiled at me admiringly. 

     Right before he headed out the door for school, Jamie turned back to me, a playful gleam in his eye. “Just so you know, though, with all the work I’m putting into this, I’m probably going to expect you to put out tonight.”

      “Put out?  What decade were you born in again?  That is not gentlemanly at all,” I retorted indignantly, but then added with a suggestive smile.  “But, just so you know, I probably will be very… very…very… grateful.”  It made me laugh when my words appeared to make him shudder as well.  “And I imagine I will want to demonstrate my gratitude.”

     He stopped, and narrowed his eyes at me.  “Now that is not fair, Claire.  How am I supposed to make it through the school day wondering what my wife means when she says she’s going to show me her gratitude?”

      “The same way I’m supposed to make it through the day wondering what you have planned for us,” I smiled.

     Jamie had been gone about ten minutes when I looked on the kitchen counter and realized he had left his sandwiches behind.

     I had been struggling through my patient interviews for about an hour when there was a light tap on the clinic door.  It was Riti Botla, Jamie’s bright little student.

      “Riti!” I said.  “Are you okay?  E metak?”

      “No, Miss Peachay,” she smiled.  “Meester Shamie ask me to come help you a little.  He say translating for you will be good practice for my English.”

     I would have hugged her or at least patted her on the head in gratitude, but Jamie had recently told me (after I’d already made the mistake) that pointing at or touching people on the head is offensive in the Marshallese culture.

     Things went much more quickly with Riti’s help.  I still tried to pay attention to her questions and their answers, but it wasn’t nearly as stressful or time consuming.  A few times, an embarrassed adult would ask her to leave and we’d struggle through the words and definitions for their more grown-up issues, but in general, it was so much easier with a young translator.

     I was finishing up with my last patient when a chuckled murmur passed through the little crowd of ladies gathered under the tree in front of the clinic. 

      “Why are they laughing?”  I asked, trying to remember the Majel words.  “Kōn ta ettōñ? (et tong).  Is that right?”

      “Good, Miss Peachay!” Riti exclaimed encouragingly.  “You ask why they are laughing.  They say Meester Shamie an lukkuun ṃōkaj neōṃ ,”

      “Muh gus?” I asked.  I knew ‘loo-koon’ meant very.

      “Ṃōkaj is fast,” smiled Riti.

      “And ‘nem’?” I asked.

      “Legs,” Riti said.

      “So, they’re saying Mister Jamie has very fast legs? That he runs very fast?”

      “Ayet,” Riti answered.  “And the mamas say Meester Shamie kōṇaan ipādwaj.  He wants to be with you,” Riti was blushing, even through her tan, so I assumed there may have been some double entendres in their statement.  “Joñan wōt e maroñ…As much as he can.” I couldn’t help but smile.  We might speak different languages, but they had a good grasp on my husband’s intent.  I began to wonder whether he’d left his lunch at home on purpose.

      “Iọkwe,” the ladies started to say, getting up from their places.  “Koṃṃool tata, Miss Peachay.”

“Kon jouj,” I said, waving to them, then locking the clinic door.

     I felt hyper alert as I went into our cabin.  With my last glance down the road, Jamie was nearly to the clinic, loping along on his ‘muh gus nem’ towards me.  I had a feeling sandwiches might not be the first thing on the agenda; in fact, I really hoped they weren’t.  I tossed my panties into the hamper just as I heard the door knob turn.

      “Well,” Jamie said, shutting the door, looking at me with a question in his eyes.

      “Well,” I said, turning to him with an inviting smile and a nod. 

      “I’m trying to make up my mind whether to do it really slowly and savor every second, or follow my instinct, which is to eat my sandwiches right here in the kitchen.”  He grinned as his joke slowly sunk in, the look on my face registering confusion as I realized what he’d said.

      “Sandwiches?” I asked dryly.  Jamie laughed, but then smiled sweetly.

      “Oh, I misspoke,” Jamie said huskily, stepping closer to me.  “To slowly savor every second of making love to my wife, or to ravish her right here in the kitchen.” 

      “How about a compromise?” I suggested, boosting myself up onto the counter behind me.  “Itok, Jamie.  Come here.”

     Jamie stepped between my knees, pushing my skirt up as he did, his hands traveling up my thighs.

      “Yer skin is so soft, Claire,” he murmured into my lips, his fingers stroking circles toward the sensitive skin of my inner thighs.

     I gasped unintentionally as he brushed his fingers against my abdomen, and Jamie drew away, eyes wide. “Ye arna wearing any panties,” he grinned, then kissed me more hungrily as he explored my wet warmth.

      “Jamie, oh hell, it’s time.  I can’t wait any longer,” I said, reaching down to undo his shorts.

     He stepped away from me, breathing heavily.  “Sorry,” he said, with a glint in his eye.  “We’re saving it for tonight.”

      “Really?” I said skeptically, drawing my dress off over my head. I wasn’t wearing a bra, either.

      “Oh, Christ,” Jamie said, looking at me in stunned appreciation.  “You’re right.  I dinna have that much self-control.”  He unbuttoned his shorts and dropped them to the floor.

     I hadn’t put makeup on since coming to the island.  Sweat and humidity made makeup uncomfortable and impermanent, and the fact that no one else wore it made it completely unnecessary. The fresh-faced look made me look younger, but the thought of a date had me bringing out the makeup bag.  It was almost shocking to see myself with mascara and eyeliner after a month without.  After that I looked through my clothes, feeling surprisingly jittery as I tried to decide what to wear, despite the fact that I was going on a date with my husband.  There was one slinky wrap sundress that crossed at the bust with a plunging v-neck , and I decided to skip the bra. Even though we’d already had a lunchtime quickie, I had a feeling we weren’t finished for the day.

     The hair.  That was the last, challenging, frustrating thing.  Humidity made it curl up more than ever, so I’d take to twisting it into a bun most days.  I rarely had time to fuss with it, but today, I felt like it was worth it to take the time.  I got my hair wet and pulled out my DevaCurl  from Sephora, expensive stuff that it was, and worked it through my hair.  It had a way of binding the curls together into ringlets instead of crazy frizz, giving them enough weight so they drooped down instead of standing out wildly all over the place.

     As I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt only a faint sense of recognition of the girl I saw, but I was quite confident that Jamie would appreciate my efforts.

     Six o’clock brought a knock at the door.  I hadn’t realized Jamie had taken clothes with him to school, but he was dressed in khakis and a nice shirt.  His eyes widened at the sight of me, and he smiled.  I did notice his eyes drift downward, and his face flushed slightly.

      “Itok, Ripalle,” he said, holding out his hand to me and helping me descend the steps, like we were heading down the stairway into some grand ballroom instead of our coral rock side yard.  He led me down the road to the fishing dock on the ocean side.  At the end of the dock stood a small table and two chairs, lit by hurricane lanterns set on wooden crates.  Jamie pulled out my chair for me, and shortly after we were seated, Maria came grinning down the dock carrying two plates, which she set before us with a flourish and then left. 

     On the plates were barbecued chicken, a rice and squash dish, and roasted breadfruit.  I felt shy all of a sudden, and I was grateful to have something to do with my hands, and a place to look other than Jamie’s intense gaze.

      “Tell me about yourself, Claire,” said Jamie, as if this were a first date. “What brought you out to serve in the Peace Corps? And particularly, how did you decide on the Marshall Islands?”

      “Well,” I said, after finishing the bite of food I’d just taken, also like a first awkward date. “I am a nurse practitioner. From an early age, I always thought I would serve in the Corps.  And after feeling like I was in a funk for six months, I decided that now was the time.”

      “And how did ye choose Arno?”

      “I browsed through the options, and honestly, I chose the most primitive, most remote location that happened to also be in the islands.”

      “Pardon my asking, but why would a young lady such as yourself want primitive conditions?” Jamie asked. “You look mighty fancy tonight.”

      “Did I dress up too much?” If we had been in character before this, now I was definitely breaking character.  “Should I have skipped the makeup?”

      “Oh, Christ, no,” said Jamie, taking me in with his eyes.  “You look lovely, gorgeous.  I guess I just feel overwhelmed by ye, and for the first time, I realize how far up I married.”

     I scoffed.  “As long as I had crazy hair and didn’t wear makeup, you felt like we were in the same league?”

      “I wasna trying to be insulting,” he chuckled.  “It’s just, ye are a woman.  A grown person.  And next to ye, I must seem a wee child.”

      “Don’t say that,” I said.  “There are times I feel like an irresponsible baby next to you too.  No need to feel unequal.”

      “Aye, but ye look so classy!”

     I laughed.  “Come now.  You’ve met my parents.  We’re very down-to-earth people.”

      “I guess I’m not making my question clear,” Jamie said, wrinkling his forehead.  “I’m just surprised that ye ended up here.  That you chose the primitive surroundings.  There are a lot of cushier Peace Corps locations.  I only ended up here because I’d gotten in trouble wi’ the law.  It’s been good for me, but I dinna ken whether I would have chosen it.”

      “I wanted the year to count, if that doesn’t sound too strange,” I explained.  “It wasn’t likely that I’d be able to serve again.  If I was in a place that was just like a different city, a different America, with accents…that just wouldn’t have been enough.  Though I have to admit, if there had been a posting in Scotland, I might have actually considered it.”

     We were finishing with our food, and I heard a faint sound.  Turning toward the island from my seat facing the ocean, I saw a little procession of school children.  Several were playing ukuleles and guitars, and four of the little girls wore the grassy skirts of the native dancers.  They paraded shyly out onto the dock, and then performed an adorable song and dance for us.  Then, just as quickly as they had come, they disappeared into the darkness.

     The lamps still lit the area around us, but the sky had darkened, and the stars were becoming visible.  I was actually feeling a little chilled, as the cool ocean breeze rippled the water and headed toward the land.

      “Come here, Claire,” said Jamie, reaching for my hand.  He led me to the edge of the dock, where he sat down and had me sit between his legs.  The tide was low enough that our toes barely touched the water, and I leaned back against his warm chest.  He always had some extra source of heat and it radiated from him.

      “I have a gift for you,” he said.  I heard a faint rattling, and then he gently dropped a necklace over my head, lifting my hair in the back to put the cool, smooth pearls against my neck.  He kissed my shoulder as well.  I lifted the necklace to view it in the light.

      “Scotch pearls,” he said.  “Dougal brought them out for me.  They belonged to my mother, Claire.  She was one of the most precious things in my life, and so these pearls, which are one of the few things I have left of her are equally valuable.  And so are you.”

     I could barely see the pearls any more, my eyes swimming with tears, as I said, “I love you, Jamie.”

     He wrapped his arms around me.  “I love you, Claire.”

      “Let’s go,” I said.  “I need you to make love to me.”

     He stood and helped me up, and we walked hand in hand back home.

     The door of our apartment clicked closed behind us, and we were in utter darkness.  Jamie was behind me, and with a single step forward he was close enough that I could feel his breath on my hair.  I reached toward the light switch, but Jamie stopped my hand firmly.

      “No lights.” he said. “Let’s just feel it this time.”

      “None?”  I asked. “I fixed myself up!”

      “And I can remember how lovely you look,” Jamie said.  “But I want to feel you.” As the skin on my arms pricked with goosebumps at his words, he kissed my neck, sending shivers up my spine.

      “Come on,” he said, leading me through the apartment.  Jamie had a sixth sense for his surroundings, and didn’t bump into anything, leading me safely to the side of our bed.

      “How does this dress fasten?” he asked, his hands traveling down my arms.

      “It’s a wrap dress,” I explained. “It ties in the front, and the ties wrap around.”

     Jamie’s fingers found the bow at the front, and he deftly untied it, letting the ties drop to slowly unwrap around my hips.

     It was interesting to go by feel.  Frank always wanted lights on; he needed to see me to get turned on.  I wasn’t worried about how I looked, and I was able to focus on sounds and sensations.  I found my way to the waistband of Jamie’s slacks; instead of unbuttoning them, though, I gently ran my hand down his fly.

     A sharp intake of breath told me he liked it.  I could feel how excited he was, too, which made me groan slightly.

      “Ye like that, do ye?” He asked.

      “Yes,” I whispered.  “I like knowing you want me.”

      “Oh, God, yes, I do,” he said.  I took my fingers back to the button and undid it, then unzipped his fly, taking advantage of the easier access to lightly stroke him once more.

     Jamie gently removed my hands, returning his attention to the front of my dress.  He pulled the ties loose, and with that done, gently slid the dress off my shoulders.

      “I am going to kiss every inch of your body,” Jamie murmured, laying me down on the bed.  I heard his clothing drop on the floor, and then the mattress sinking down under his weight as he knelt over me.  

     Starting at my neck, Jamie made good on his promise, kissing, licking, and nibbling my skin until I was panting and writhing  in arousal.

      “Jamie,” I begged.  “Jamie!  Please. Please.” I reached down and touched him with my  hand, which only made me gasp with anticipation.

     Jamie collapsed on me, with a final gasp of amazement.  “Claire,” he groaned, “that was incredible.”

      “Darn it, Jamie,” I said in faux irritation.  “I have a policy of never sleeping with someone on a first date.”

      “Well, I am your husband,” he reasoned.

      “Guess I’ll have to forgive myself,” I chuckled, tucking myself into the comforting crook of Jamie’s arm.

Chapter Notes: I purposely chose primitive when I went as a volunteer teacher to Arno.  There were plenty of cooler, cushier places (Scotland, for example!) but I wanted to break out of my comfort zone.  No running water?  Sign me up.  No electricity?  Awesome.  And though the culture shock was extreme, and the first weeks of adjusting to our new life somewhat stressful, I was so blessed by the decluttered life I experienced.  Wish I could take my sons someplace like that—get them to unplug, just go snorkeling and play on the beach…

And you can thank @abbydebeaupreposts for the actual view inside their apartment.  I had taken the lazy route and just faded to black…  It’s a little more satisfying to peep.  ;)

While Tae shuffles awkwardly down the hall, Jungkook leans forward, for whatever reason choosing to lock gazes with you as you climb back into the spot next to Jimin. He whispers, “Two minutes, max.”

It takes a second to reply as you bite the inside of your cheek, trying to not show any outward signs of your irrational irritation. Thankfully, your voice eventually comes out steady, “Nah, Tae can last a good five minutes.”

The maknae arches an eyebrow, a smirk pulling at his lips, “You know this… from personal experience?”

It’s disgusting, the amount of defensiveness that seeps through your tone, “No. Definitely not. I wouldn’t voluntarily touch his dick if someone paid me.”

“Sure, noona,” Jungkook whispers and the honorific sends another shot of hot anger to your stomach. Frustrated, you shift around to bury yourself in the blanket with Jimin, seeking warmth but also a place to hide from the gaze of that infuriating kid with the stupid golden fringe. But he’s not done with you yet. “I can last for ten.”

Oddly, it’s Jimin’s body that stiffens first, but before you can react, a series of loud bangs drags your collective attention down the hall, especially as it’s accompanied by a high pitched scream of, “Holy shit a spider!”

The bathroom door flies open and Taehyung scrambles clumsily into the hallway as he desperately attempts to finish shoving his manhood in his pants.

Unfortunately for both of you, amidst the screaming you lose track of the intruder and the bathroom becomes momentarily off limits. As if that wasn’t bad enough, by the time you get back to the couch, the movie is half over and you have no idea what’s going on.

It’s a little bit strange. While it’s nothing new for Jimin to be a tad uptight about weird things, as he stops the movie to catch you up on the plot he suddenly seems particularly stiff. Chalking it up to random man-hormones, you brush the odd feeling aside and try to pay attention, but fail. You’re still lost as the movie finishes, leaving you with so many questions- and not the good kind.

His voice fades to the back of your attention as you begin piling up the empty pizza boxes. After years of friendship, you’ve learned that despite your lazy nature, neither of the boys is usually willing to clean up after eating. This meant that if you didn’t do it, the apartment would begin to smell.

Much to your surprise, Jungkook leans forward and begins collecting the used napkins and stray playing cards. While he’d gotten up to answer the door earlier, you hadn’t really thought of him as the helpful type. So when he takes it a step further and offers to take out the trash, you’re more than willing to let someone else do the work for once.

But this frees you up to take care of another chore while Taehyung changes his sheets, preparing for your sleepover, and Jimin bravely claims the shower, missing spider aside.

You get to empty the pesky plastic rain bucket.

By the time you check on it at the end of the hall, the big container has filled almost to the top. Someone should really tell the upstairs neighbors to fix that leak. A deep soreness already permeating into your back and legs, you painstakingly drag the bucket inch by inch, pulling it toward the front door.

You get it halfway through the living room before Jungkook comes back.

“Let me help you with that.”

“It’s fine, I’ve got it,” you grumble, fixing your stare on the sloshing water that’s been slowly spilling all over the fake hardwood floor.

He sighs heavily, walking to stand beside you and attempting to grab the bucket, “It’s heavy.”

“So? I’ve got it,” you insist, angry that he thinks you need his help. At this point, you’ve pushed aside your inherently lazy nature, fueled by your hatred of his arrogance.

Without another word, Jungkook tugs on the container, causing some of the water to splash onto his Timberlands. You tug right back, soaking your socks, plastic scraping loudly against the floor.

You can see his thick arm muscles flex, ready to pull and try to assert his fucking dominance, but you are determined to put him in his place. So you pull first.

You glare at him from where you land on the floor, now soaked from the waist down and not in a good way. Jungkook’s eyes are so huge they look like they’re about to pop out of his head. Can you blame him though? You must look ready to skin him alive.

“Did someone die out there?” Taehyung’s deep voice floats out of his room.

“No, but someone’s about to,” is what you want to say; yet Jungkook beats you to a response.

“Everything’s fine, hyung,” he is abruptly uncannily calm, expression settling into one of complete emotional control.

“‘Fine’ my left ass cheek,” you spit quietly, getting to your feet.

The maknae glares at you, upper lip twitching slightly as he says, “It IS fine. I’ll clean it up.”

“Oh, you’ve done enough,” you retort, picking up the empty bucket, trying to move around him to get to the hallway. “Just go sit down and stay out of my way.”

The two words settle like a hot stone in the pit of your stomach, immediately stopping you in your tracks- well that, and the fact that a wall of muscle steps between you and your destination. A dim flash of distant lightning illuminates the room slightly, reflecting in the gold of his hair.

This insufferable, arrogant, child has the guts to get in your way? He may be bigger than you, but Jungkook has another thing coming.

You throw the bucket at his feet, letting it bounce once with an awful, hollow “whump.” He winces almost imperceptibly at the noise, but maintains your gaze with a hard stare of his own.

Well, if he insists on cleaning the mess, you don’t want to waste the energy trying to stop him- but 1) he will do it on your terms 2) you will not let him stare you down and 3) you will accomplish both of these things by asserting your dominance and showing him who wears the pants in this house.

Or rather, who doesn’t.

“Towels are in the closet at the end of the hall,” you inform him, reaching down to undo the button of your jeans. Obviously trying very hard to maintain eye contact, the maknae’s left eye twitches as you peel the pants from your body. Unabashed, you wad up the soaked piece of clothing and throw it at his chest. Only breaking eye contact as he turns around, Jungkook picks up the bucket and heads to the other end of the apartment.

As Jimin exits the bathroom, Jungkook throws the soiled jeans inside before placing the plastic container under the leak and opening the hall closet. No matter how much you hate him, you have to admire his self control. He didn’t look down at your partially exposed body for even a second.

Crossing your line of sight, you note that Jimin doesn’t look up from his phone, intent on reading something while traversing the expansive few steps to his bedroom. Is no one going to pay attention to the fact that you’re pant-less?

“I call the shower next!” Taehyung abruptly bounds into the crowded hallway, but stops and slowly turns to look at you. His gaze flicks down only for a second while he shoots you a wink and a lopsided smirk, subsequently continuing on his way.

“Yah, Tae,” you shout, a little disappointed that you couldn’t scold at least one of them for looking. “You can’t even stop and admire the art?”

“Nah baby, the shower is calling my name. Besides I can always admire it later when we’re alone in my r-”

As he talks, you walk to the entertainment center to grab some clothes from the lower drawers, smiling to yourself and cutting him off, “Are you forgetting the spider?”

He lets out a deep, thoughtful hum, then with exaggerated cheerfulness asks, “Does anyone else wanna go in first?”

You stand, pajama’s tucked neatly underneath your arm, only to make eye contact with Jungkook. While he’s just innocently laying out towels to clean up the spilled water, all you can do is think about the fact that the only other person who can shower before Taehyung besides you is HIM. And if he does, you’ll theoretically have to be in the same place this irritating little shit stood while he was naked.

“I’ll go!” you scramble past both boys, closing the bathroom door behind you.

“You’ll find the spider, right?” Taehyung asks through the barrier.

“Sure thing,” you assure, but it’s probably a known fact that you’re not even going to look.

Taehyung’s room is practically the opposite of Jimin’s. Various band posters line the wall in a haphazard collage, a mountain of clothes has congregated around a hamper in the corner, and- when did he get a lava lamp? It always smells the same too, like that ruggedly musky pine cologne he has to have a hundred bottles of stashed somewhere because he’s been wearing it for at least five years.

“No,” you glare at him as Taehyung drops his shirt on the floor, now dressed in nothing but his boxers. If this wasn’t a sight you’d seen ridiculously frequently for almost a decade, you might have spent a few more seconds admiring his healthily full frame, lean muscles, and honey colored skin- but it really wasn’t anything new.

You’ve had plenty of sleepovers with your two best friends. Some your parents knew about, others they didn’t. It became an even more common occurrence when you were kicked out three years ago. And both of the boys like to sleep shirtless.

“Please?” Taehyung pouts, climbing onto the bed to flop into the space beside you, stomach down.

Probably due to the sudden chill, Taehyung gives a needy mewl, shyly tugging at the blankets, which you spontaneously decide he won’t have. It takes a solid few seconds, but he eventually sighs, gives up, and turns out the overhead light, leaving you in the soft purple glow of the lava lamp.

“That’s fucking right,” you whisper just to spite him, thinking the sound of the rain outside would mostly drown it out, but apparently he hears it and your comment backfires immediately.

You feel the mattress shift and before you can move, his arm is around you, snaring your stomach and dragging you to his chest. You struggle halfheartedly, already resigned to letting exhaustion weigh down your limbs.

Taehyung doesn’t move for a few seconds, likely attempting to lulling you into a false sense of security. You know he’s not done yet. He’ll be a whiny asshole for at least ten more minutes. He always is. But the darkness coupled with his body heat is a combination that drags you mercilessly toward the sweet release of sleep. A few minutes of silence pass… and then:

“Just once?”

“No.”

“Please?”

“No.”

“Baby…” he nuzzles into the back of your neck.

“Hot damn, Tae if I say yes will you shut up?”

He perks up immediately, “Absolutely.”

“Fine, over my shirt.”

Taehyung lets out a joyful squeal and his big hands find your breasts immediately, like the damn homing pigeons they are. He gives a gentle squeeze.

Taehyung suddenly stills, a sensation that plunges you into full alertness. What is he…? In a single swift motion, he pulls himself on top of you, wedging one leg between yours.

In the dim purple light, you can’t really see Taehyung lean forward so much as feel him do it, warm breath tickling your ear. His next words are whispered, raspy, “Wanna bet?”

Something ignites inside you, a smirk tugging at your lips. You lightly run your hands up his arms, a tease of a touch, until you find his shoulders, then his neck. Fingers lacing through the hair at the back of his head, you pull him closer.

He lets out a humored hum, “You’re on.”

With that, you prop yourself up to connect your lips to his.

This isn’t the first time you’ve kissed Taehyung, even if the others were sort of drunk birthday party accidents he loves to bring up to embarrass you or the results of rather cruel rounds of truth or dare that no one is mean enough to reference. But you never fail to be surprised at how soft his lips are… and how quickly he likes to add tongue to the equation.*

He immediately presses more of his weight down on top of you, trapping your body between his and the mattress, causing your pulse to beat noticeably, excitedly in your throat.

Having initiated the kiss mere seconds ago, you’re shocked to feel his tongue against the seam of your lips. Amused at his forwardness, you deny him access with a quick nip and sharp tug on his hair. Taehyung groans, a low sound that sends heat pooling in the pit of your stomach.

Almost, but not quite- because his voice is deep and hoarse in a way that makes you aware of the sticky state of your underwear, even if he only says, “I should really get a handle that locks.”

Thunder rumbles somewhere in the distance.

You push Taehyung away, turning to face the opposite wall and clamping your thighs together in frustration. Maybe sleeping in Taehyung’s bed would not be as great of an idea you originally thought.

How long would she have to contend with this big ‘lunk’ she wondered to herself. This was the third time this week that he had run into her!
