author note: felt like I was going to explode if I didn't post them today, I hope it's not complete trash LOL.

Bi-Han: -It was a quiet morning, for once you were the first to wake up, so you started cooking for the both of you. -Then you felt the arms of your lover wrapping around your waist, always so chilly against your body. -You feel his right cheekbone brush against yours, like a kitty searching for affection, then his chin rests on your shoulder, you can feel his black eyes on you. "Dawn creates light and shades on your face, making your feature stand out even more, I didn't think it was possible to make you look even more beautiful." -You choke on your own spit, stunned by the honeyed words dripping from your partner lips. -What was happening? Did Bi-Han hit his head during sparring? In any case, there's no way you'll stop him. -Kettle whistle, but you don't move, still looking at Bi-Han with wide eyes. -He sighs, kisses your cheek, and takes the kettle, pouring the boiling water into his cup, where you previously put the tea bag. -"Moron, if this is your reaction, I'll have to filter my thoughts again." -You shook your head, hell, you don't think you'll ever be able to go back now, his sweet words a drug that got you immediately addicted. Sadly, you aren't used to compliments anymore; you can just stutter out a no, while you feel heath on your cheeks. -Bi-Han smirks at you, a playful gesture you rarely see (and you are still thanking the gods that blessed you this morning) his right hand reaching for the apple of your cheek, pulling it in between his index and middle fingers before snapping it back in place. -"Sit down, I'll make you coffee maybe it will wake you up." -You aren't sure if you want to wake up.

Kitana: -You are waiting for her to return from work, your stomach churning always worried something bad may have happened. -You are reading a novel when you feel the door of the living room opening. You lift your head up, eager to see your lover come in. -And she does, a ray of sunshine deep into the night. -Kitana walks to you, a tired smile on her face, 'till she reaches you behind the armchair you are sitting on. -"Good night beautiful, first time here?" You say, chuckling at your own silliness. -Kitana chuckles along, the kind that shows the wonderful smile that always makes you understand how lucky you are. -"Since you leave me breathless every time I look at you-" Her face lean closer to yours "maybe it is" her plush lips kiss your forehead before she leaves to change in more comfortable clothing. -You curl on yourself, face hidden inside your book, and you are pretty sure your head is fuming for how fast the gears in your brain are working. -"Don't curl up, dear! You know it's bad for your back" Kitana shouts from your shared bedroom "I don't want my princess to get back pain" she whispers the last part. -Maybe one day she will get bold enough to freely speak her mind, for now you'll have to cheerish this rare moment of softness.

Kung Lao: -You tried a new recipe today, made with the fresh vegetables Kung Lao and Raiden picked up at dawn. -Saying you were nervous is a euphemism. You didn't want to fail, but even more to thrash the food your friend and boyfriend grew and picked up after so much effort. -You put the food on the table, useless to say to start the meal, Kung Lao cheeks were already full, and Raiden followed soon. -The judgment arrived soon, the burp coming from your partner mouth a telltale sign and a bad habit you still weren't able to correct. -"My love, the food was amazing, delicious!" Kung Lao stands up, arms open ready to embrace your body "Not that I have any doubts, your cooking skill just another plus of my wonderful-" He kisses your nose "amazing-" his lips touch your left cheek "beautiful dove" his lips finally rest on yours. -You reciprocate the kiss, but your mind is elsewhere, so used to Kung Lao singing his own praises without sparing a nice word to anybody else, you didn't expect so many compliments. -You break the kiss when you hear Raiden coughing in the background, heath flooding your face while your boyfriend was totally unaffected, still looking at you with that softness he always reserves for you. -Kung Lao soon returns at the table to finish the meal together with Raiden, and then they both go back to train. -But not before smooching your cheek, lips staining your skin with, what you guessed was the juice of the peach Kung Lao eat before going back to work. -You clean yourself with the back of your hand before going back to work, the comoliments of your boyfriend still reverberating into your brain, a nice intrusive thought that won't leave you for the rest of the day.

Josh has always struggled to maintain relationships, including ones with friends. Not only because he's incredibly socially awkward, but his escapism within videogames plays a major factor. So, he treasures what he has with you much more seriously than anyone you knew.

Rambles about his games all the time. His interests are something you can never get him to shut up about. Josh is usually into strategies, lore & development, his favorite being "Biowars", which you already knew had quite the reputation for being a challenging videogame.

He's pretty bubbly, especially around you. Josh is an absolute sweetheart and will get flustered at almost anything. His childish personality roots out much more when you're around, mostly because Josh feels more comfortable.

He isn't very open about his feelings, mostly because he's afraid of losing people. Josh desperately wants to be a part of something and refuses to mess it up somehow. Josh, however, is very different when you're opening up. He'll advise, comfort and try to cheer you up. (It's actually crazy how good his advice is sometimes.)

Josh is content with following you anywhere, as long as it doesn't involve his house or hear his parents. If I'm going to be honest, if he's particularly choosing somewhere to lounge, it'd be an arcade. It's a field where he specializes in and he can impress you easily. It's also somewhere he can discard his low self-esteem and indulge in his skills.

Praise is like a drug to Josh. Compliments or any sight of you liking him (or what he's doing), he feels intense dopamine. He really enjoys making people happy.

He's pretty charismatic sometimes, even when he's not trying to be. Josh is usually awkward when directly talking to somebody with a set question or goal in mind, but when he needs to go with the flow, it's much more grounded. With you in mind, Josh is much more relaxed, so he isn't as shy as he is with strangers.

Wouldn't exactly say he's very affectionate, but he wouldn't mind hugging either. Again, Josh is pretty awkward, and I doubt he rarely showcases soft intimacy around anyone (whenever it's platonic or romantic). He would love to do it, but he's very shy. Though, he isn't afraid to try. If you ask, he's perfectly fine with holding your hand or sitting close.

As I mentioned, Josh is very tentative on affection, especially receiving it, but he loves getting his hair and face touched. Dude needs love.

Digs through your trash. He doesn't have any ill intents, but Josh will take time out of his day to scavenge through waste instead of asking you a minor question. I know I mentioned he's very relaxed around you, but Josh definitely overthinks, especially with relationships. He tries his best.

Will cry real tears of joy if you ever give him something. Josh really appreciates gifts, no matter who it's from. Even if it's not game related, he's definitely holding onto it for a while. (Bonus Points If: It's an animal toy, a decoration or handmade.)

Romantically speaking, he enjoys kissing you or indulging in anything sweet. A lot of giggling & sweet talk. Josh isn't very experienced in relationships like this, so he tried to wing it. Needless to say, he probably gets advice from Google images and it's adorable to see him try his best to impress you.

Will always defend you, even if he fails miserably. Absolute trooper.

Josh will one hundred percent get emotional at any piece of film he is watching with you. Especially if it's a game cutscenes and it involves animals.

Huge softie. I don't think Josh can handle saying anything remotely mean to you or reviving it. If he does, expect a flood of apologies.

Can get way into character sometimes, whatever context this is. You know what I'm talking about.

Very clingy. No other words.

Lastly, he'd definitely call you nicknames in the cutest way possible. If he lets you call him "Joshy", you've probably earned the highest pillar of his trust.

So, popular girl who is a bully to the Main character. It's a very popular trope. Heck, Lizzy's hair changed from pink to blond for that vibe

But.. She doesn't really fit that perfectly even in the pilot.

When Thad gets hurt, she quickly runs to him and looks super worried about him.

Also she has the biggest smile here ever, I love it

A small detail I noticed is that here, she has a normal expression. But when Thad starts to compliment Uzi, she smiles at her too.

She seems like someone who can't figure out feelings easily. She makes insulting jokes without seeming to understand that they get others hurt.

With her humor though, she does seem to care about Doll a lot. They do talk with each other in a nice banter.

She does go with her plan to kill V. Which makes sense for her, V's a murder drones who has hurt Doll and drones in general. I bet she'd love to help Doll.

But the plan does include Lizzy getting V to trust her so she gets in position for Doll to kill.

Those things that Liz does with V does make her seem to enjoy her time like with Doll though. She does get nervous when V is close to killing, but she does commit to being nice to her.

Seriously, Liz made the class act happy for V, even though she was going to be killed in a few moments. Almost like she wanted V to feel happy for a while.

And I don't know if it's just me, but I don't know if I'd commit to a job of killing anyone even for a friend.

Lizzy couldn't commit to killing V. She does care for her. It just takes her a bit too long to choose between Doll or V.

So when she does try to help V, she's panicked trying to warn her and make her run.

Yes, that line she says was kinda strange "Actually you're way hotter than Doll" She is still someone who doesn't seem to know the best things to say, though.

Even though Lizzy is aware V was there to kill and even calls her out on it, but she helps V get rebuilt.

And she does like talking with her, saying the same thing as her.

Then the next episode comes back where she is seen talking with Thad. So she does seem to still have a care for him as well like in the pilot, despite the little time they hang with each other.

She also helps the class get used to both murder drones looking over then by being nice with V, and also giving her a watch. And she spends a lot of time with her during V's time as the chaperone.

When V gets in a fight with N, she does try to compliment her. But she actually tries to take it back when V doesn't respond, a counter to her mean joke to Doll in ep 2 and not even talking to Doll for the rest of that episode.

And when V storms off, Liz seems saddened she's upset. She's sad about it for a while.

Then Rebecca comes back after being gone, half destroyed. The other three campers look disgusted by the grossness of her injuries, but Lizzy is genuinely scared for her.

Which is a huge thing, the other horrors she sees, she has a default or sassy expression compared to others.

She also is the one asking her who fucking hurt her. The only drone to speak seeing her, besides the one "Rebecca?!"

When Uzi started killing the other campers, Lizzy looked quite relieved seeing any of those drones.

When she is saved by V, she is back to her default reactions to horrors.

But I do think Lizzy is a nice drone and I hope to see more of her in the next episode, which might happen.

I’m probably going to be crucified for saying this but. I have problems with Percabeth. Don't get me wrong I definitely don't hate it and I do enjoy certain Percabeth fics but the largely canon and canon portrayals of it are. Well. Not good.

First of all, there’s the issue that pops up whenever a smart female character is in a relationship with a ‘dumb’ male character. They get dumbed down into being an idiot. This is especially true about Percabeth.

Percy is smart.

Let me repeat that. PERCY IS SMART.

Is he book smart? No. But we all should know that book smart is far from the only smart. But it’s the kind of smart that Annabeth is. She knows trivia. She knows mythology.

Percy? He’s smart in the he picks things up quickly sort of way. Exhibit A: He figured out that the casino was time warping and he not only broke out of it, but was responsible for Annabeth and subsequently Grover breaking out of it. There was absolutely no way Annabeth would have broken out on her own. Exhibit B: That boat scene in SoM where he figured out how to use the wind spirit things to speed them up. Exhibit C, he was one of the first ppl to realise Silena was a traitor. There are probably many more examples but these are just the ones I can think of from the top of my head.

(Also I think he was the one who tricked Crusty and freed the other 2 in TLT)

My second problem is the judo flip scene. Everyone always says it's romantic but fellas. Is it romantic to physically adult your partner after you see them for the first time in months? Onto their back where they have their mortal weakened that could easily kill them? (BC Annabeth couldn't have known the Achilles Curse was gone). We all know that if the roles were reversed, Percy would have been dragged to hell and back for it.

My third major problem is that Annabeth insults him. In the first book, I can give it a pass. Maybe even in the second book. But tell me why in HoH or BOO (I can't remember) Reyna complimented Percy on escaping Tartarus and Annabeth but in like ‘He had help’. Yes. He did. I understand that Percy couldn't have escaped without Annabeth. But let him have the compliment! Maybe even idk. Appreciate him? BC that's what normal couples do? Ik if it was me and my QPR spouses in that situation I would have jumped at the chance to complement and gush abt them. And Reyna responded with ‘True. He couldn't find his way out of a paper bag without you.’ ???

Reyna sweetie, this is your co-praetor!!! Percy made it to camp Jupiter without Annabeth! He can survive on his own just fine! He was also the war commander during TLO despite being barely 16!

Back to the situation at hand, the very least she could have done was stay quiet. And before you say ‘Oh it was a joke’ Percy was clearly unhappy and protested the claim. BC he’s not dumb despite almost everyone in his life acting like it.

The last thing I want to discuss rn is how Annabeth accidentally fed into his suicidal tendancies. Yeah I’m bringing up the Kym incident. Percy literally told Jason he could have controlled the poison and saved himself but didn't BC he thought it was the Fates punishing him for Akhlys. But that wasn't really her fault, though I'm still going to bring it up.

I want to end on a positive note so 2 Percabeth moments that actually make me smile. In TLT during the gateway arch bit, Percy finds the idea of Annabeth being an architect funny and she snaps a comment abt his dad. Percy asks if Athena and Posiden ever collaborated on anything and Annabeth tentatively offers the chariot. It was sweet and actually showed the two’s relationship warming up to something less hostile. Later during the Zebra chapter Annabeth tells Percy that she would fight by him BC he’s her friend, no matter what side Athena chooses. Some great moments.

(Also I like that Annabeth didn't hold it against Percy for forgetting their 1 month anniversary. She actually understands that he has a lot on his mind and that he just fought a war)

(Also I could bring up BotL but I won't BC I have other stuff to do and also I haven't read it recently enough like TLT which I skimmed today during a seminar BC I didn't have my sketchbook but my best friend had brought the copy I lent her and wasn't using it)

gom+kagami+hanamiya accidentally seeing their crush playing an otome game and trying to capture a character that is similar to them in looks/personality

Kuroko: There's the smallest of pouts on Kuroko's face as he watches you play, going after a character who you tut as very similar to him. He never expected to be boiled down to only a few traits, thinking himself more complicated and nuanced. "You don't like him better, do you?"

Kagami: There's a red on his cheeks that almost seems to rival his hair when he realizes how similar your favorite character is to him. He's actually a bit in denial when you point out the similarities. "You kidding me?" He ends his question there, unsure whether to take it as a compliment or insult.

Kise: "Oooh, that character looks really handsome!" Of course, Kise is holding a hand up to his chin, posing very similarly to the character on screen as he says this. He definitely sees the resemblance between him and the character and grins teasingly at you as he tells you he thinks he would've made the same choice.

Aomine: "Of course you would choose this character, he seems like the best one," Aomine teases as he watches you choose certain dialogue options for your favorite character. With how similar their personalities are, he's easily able to help you whenever you get stumped on an option, choosing for you.

Midorima: "This character seems rather sensible, if not a little stuck up." Midorima watches you, not realizing that you were choosing that character in particular due to his similarities to your boyfriend. When you finally point them out, he seems almost shocked an surprised, as if he couldn't believe he acted that way as well.

Murasakibara: The character looks nothing like him, short and chubby cheeked, but the personality seems pretty spot on. Murasakibara sits beside you as you play, pouting whenever you try to convince him how similar the two of them were. "No we're not, ____-chin. You're just saying that."

Akashi: "I see you've got a type, then," Akashi comments with a smile when he notices the similarities between himself and your favored character. It has an amused chuckle coming out of him as he watches you play, though it also gives him a bit of an uncanny valley sort of feeling.

Hanamiya: "That guy seems like a dick." It's comical how Hanamiya seems to insult the otome character you happen to be going for, as if his self awareness is nowhere to be found. He makes fun of the choices you make to woo the character, but he's unwilling to admit a lot of the dialogue choices you have would work on him too.

I know I just ended the Halloween Prompt Session, but I stumbled across a GREAT prompt list and I HAD to make it into a mini session for certain!

Grumpy Vs. Sunshine

Here are my rules:

1.) You may choose ONE character from my list Here. It’ll have the list of characters that I write for or have written for in the past.

*(If you have a character not listed that you wish for me to write, PLEASE MESSAGE ME AND CLEAR IT WITH ME FIRST TO SEE IF I CAN OR WILL DO IT!)*

2.) There are Two Prompt lists for this session, please provide the lines you wish for me to use, one from the grumpy list and one from the sunshine list

Example: May I have Aziel from ACOTAR with, "You know I love you, right?" and "See, I told you there's some good in you!"

*I write out the requests as a first come first serve. I will try my best to fulfill every request that comes my way, but please bear in mind I work full-time as a teacher. Because of that, I’ll be busy most of the day so please be patient and I’ll write in my spare time as much as I can :) *

Do you have any advice, guides, or opinions on how write a good rec list?

WELL! This is Elizabeth, and as the longtime co-curator of "The Rec Center" newsletter (with @hellotailor) I do have *a lot* of thoughts about rec lists. 😊 I'm delighted you asked, because as I'm sure both Flourish & I have mentioned on the podcast, rec-list-making is way less prominent now than it has been in previous fandom eras, and I think that's a shame. Reccing can be a great critical tool, and rec lists make a fanwork space richer—not least because they can move readers beyond the mostly quantitative metrics of the AO3.

I'll put the rest of this under the cut:

So obviously there are different kinds of rec lists, including by category/trope, favorites about a character or a ship or fandom, etc. To me, a true ~authored~ rec list is one in which the writer(s) deliberately put together a batch of fics to make some kind of argument about the works/the ship/the fandom/the source material.

Most of the lists we run in the newsletter are not like this, because we're pulling 5-7 works from our guest submissions bank—and since we don't (realistically, can't!) read the stories that are sent in, I have no idea if those 5-7 compliment each other in any real way. (When I put together one of these lists, I aim for balance: not all M/M, not all white characters, not all Western source material, etc.) (Yes, unsurprisingly, those are overrepresented in our submissions bank.)

But an authored rec list treats the rec list itself like a fanwork: you can tap into connective tissue that runs throughout the fics you choose, and you can put stories side-by-side that illuminate something when read together. You can approach this from two different directions: working from a broader pool of fics you like and pulling out a coherent batch, or starting with a theme, an argument, that connective tissue, and seeing what fits.

When I first got into my current fandom, I kept a google doc with fic titles, links, brief descriptors, and general thematic vibes etc., for future reccing use. (Obviously you can do this with AO3 bookmarks, but I use those differently, so this was a separate endeavor.) These were set up to transfer to "The Rec Center" easily, e.g.:

“Celestial Navigation” by kaydeefalls. 9K words, rated Teen. Canon-era: C & E go to NYC to try to recruit several mutants. Delicate balance sort of story with a soft revelation. No tropes.

When I actually go to rec something, I reread it—mostly because I want to get the content warnings right, but also because reading it to rec is more like reading for work: you wind up looking at the text with a different eye, always lowkey thinking about how you'll make your argument about it in writing. I haven't actually recced the fic above in the newsletter, but here's another X-Men fic I did rec at one point:

“Come Together” verse by blarfkey. 60K words across 4 stories, rated Teen.  Backstory: When Peter gets arrested for breaking Erik out of the Pentagon, Erik returns the favor and breaks Peter out in turn—and takes him to live with Charles. Beautifully awkward father-son bonding coupled with bitter, stubborn exes pining: *chef’s kiss*. The verse spans five years, with really believable character growth, which is really saying something, based on the emotionally-stunted starting point for all parties involved. Rec: Peter is the POV character here, so a+++, and the close third-person narration plays with the spaces between what he feels and what he says while capturing his voice beautifully. This means 50% dragging people and 50% feeling like an idiot, which is a total joy. A lot of X-Men stuff, canonically or...fanonically...sorry...is about found family, and I mean, this one is about finding your literal blood relations, but it’s also about building a true family, and I think the author gives that enough space to really sell it.  Content warnings: Canon-typical violence, torture, ableism, the unenlightened thoughts about women’s bodies that preoccupy heterosexual teenage boys 

That rec is from a whole list I did with @morgan-leigh a few (five???wtf lol) years ago, which I think is a good example of an authored rec list: Morgan and I had overlapping tastes and similar interpretations of the characters, so all the fics here feel like they're talking to each other in some way, and making an argument about who these characters are (in Morgan's beautiful words, many of these stories "capture the exquisite and venal dickishness of both our heroes" lol).

Obviously rec lists don't have to be super formal—we created this reccing format a long time ago to keep things standardized—and I certainly don't think recs need to sound like literary criticism (not that the examples above sound like literary criticism lol...you know what I mean). Some of my favorite rec lists are pure vibes and (performatively? in a good way) emotional, and that's great. If you're a fic author, you know what a delight those comments are to receive. And like someone's AO3 bookmarks, the all-vibes rec list is an opportunity to see if you, too, feel like the selected fics smack you in the face or whatever violent expression of appreciation people are using. They often don't give you a ton of information, but if you and the reccer have similar taste, you know you can trust their picks.

But! I would make the case for reccing as a chance to talk about fic in a way that you really wouldn't in a comment to the author or in a performatively emotional tag: critically, not in the "this is bad" definition of "criticism," but, like, in the lit-crit way. Why does this work—and how does it work? As with all literary criticism, "work" is totally contextual; a good rec list sets up that context, and gives you just enough information to want to click through and see for yourself.

All that being said, you don't need to overthink it—and I say this partly because I'd really love to see more rec lists floating around! The AO3 often primes people to sort in a top-down way, and though there are tons of great fics with lots of kudos, as the meme goes,

Rec lists let you include things that aren't super popular, that hit niche characterization or plot notes, that really worked for you specifically for whatever reason. They're pure human curation—not just recs, but an arrangement of those recs that creates a whole new work in the process. And that's something I really love about fandom! We don't want algorithmic 'if this, then that' for-you pages; we're interested in doing the actual work of reading, thinking about, and sharing what we like with others, and that's wonderful.

• Relations with them | Nami, Usopp, Robin

A/n: Attention! Perhaps OС's characters and all this is a collection of my headcanons and thoughts.

I don't have many ideas for getting to know Nami, but it seems like a good idea that you are a new member of the team. She is slightly suspicious of you and may even take a couple of coins while you are not looking.

But her attitude is easy to change with a couple of actions. If you are strong enough to protect her, it will make Nami warm to you and protect you in return. But if you are not too strong, then just pay attention to it. Nami loves attention to her person and will only warm up to you even more.

After a while, Nami will want to answer you in kind. From simply not taking your money to buying you small trinkets. Nami likes to give gifts, but she likes to receive them more. Therefore, she expects that after her gifts to you, you will do something nice for her in return.

Nami easily understands her feelings for you, but doesn't know how to express it. She understands that her simple courtesies are not enough and she wants to do something special. Nami might even ask Robin or Sanji for advice, but she doesn't really want too many people to find out about her crush ahead of time.

Her confession will be rather unusual. On the new island that she specially chose for her confession, Nami went with you separately from the rest of the team. She will take you to all the shops, allowing you to choose whatever you want, and in the evening, a romantic dinner awaits you on the ship with a confession at the end.

In a relationship, Nami loves to receive gifts and attention. As with friendship, she expects her partner to give her the best possible attention. In return, she will try to do so in return.

In my opinion, Nami can be quite jealous in relationships, but not over the top. She can become jealous if she sees that you are spending too much time on someone other than her (especially if that someone is beautiful, I feel like Nami has some self-esteem issues). But she will stop being jealous of you if she realizes that you are not seriously interested in the other person.

I have an idea that you as a member of the team were before him and perhaps more experienced than him, so all he wants is to get your help and approval.

Usopp already has self-esteem issues so he could use a trusted person like you to support him. Give him a compliment, he will blush and try to say something in response, but will only stutter. Give him a gift, he too will blush and with difficulty take the gift with sweaty hands.

Usopp is one of those guys who thinks women can't love him. Therefore, it will be very difficult for him to accept his feelings for you and confess. He will simply try to hide somewhere on the ship or in his workshop and will think about it for a long time.

Usopp may be a romantic, but he always gets out of hand. I'm sure Usopp will try to give you some kind of gift to acknowledge his feelings, but due to his shyness, he will either not give a gift, or due to his carelessness, the gift may break.

He would do a lot, but none of them lived to see this thing intact. The poor guy is just tired of trying to give you the "most perfect gift." Therefore, he simply confesses his love to you out of fatigue. Maybe he was upset that his confession would turn out to be so "less romantic", but he was in seventh heaven with happiness that you accept his feelings.

He is so shy! No matter how many times you kiss him and do other romantic things, he will still blush a lot.

Usopp tries to be romantic. He does not have much money to take you anywhere or buy things for you (because he spends money on materials for inventions), but he will gladly make you something that will be useful to you around the house or in life. (He'll definitely make the two of you wedding rings in the future!)

(This woman deserves a lot of love and attention, if you don't give it to her, then I will!)

I don't have too many ideas for Robin either. Maybe you became a new member of the team and Robin just couldn't get interested in you. Maybe because of your appearance or character, this is not entirely clear. It is clear that this helps her to strike up a first conversation and friendship with you.

If you are a restless person and cannot see on the spot, then she will watch you with a smile on her lips. But if you are a quiet person and love to read, then Robin will bring you interesting books and make tea so that the two of you can discuss books.

Robin will immediately understand her attitude towards you, but she needs time to notice and make sure that you think the same. As soon as she noticed from your slightest gestures that you then thought the same thing, she began to act.

It all starts with the fact that she gives you small signs of attention. From making tea and small compliments to gifting books and semi-hidden flirting. Robin will do this until she understands that you also feel your feelings for her.

Her recognition can be simple or complex. She might just set you up with a date in the library or with books and put a written confession in the form of a bookmark. But she can also arrange a nice candlelight date for the two of you and confess at the end.

When in a relationship, Robin will shower you with love in every possible way. Her favorite way to show love is by giving gifts and showing love in the form of hugs and kisses. But she shows it more gently, she loves to give you subtle and beautiful hints. For example, she can make you some kind of romantic gesture like one of the characters in your favorite novel did.

Robin in a relationship will also become more protective of you. You will no longer be able to fight without her help and supervision if the battle becomes very serious. She loves you with all her heart and does not want you to die in battle or from wounds.

Thank you so much for the question, and thanks even more for the compliment ! I'm glad you enjoyed the fic. Tbh I was kinda nervous that I fucked up Arthur's characterisation in the Big Bro AU.. Anyway- onto the questions :

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

I was trying to capture Arthur as a character if he had grown up genuinly loved. If ya think about it, Arthur is a pretty affectionate guy ! He's almost fanatically loyal to Jeremiah and the Vatican by extention, and clearly wants to have friendships & bonds with people.

It would be cool to see how his personality developed if he got to develope all this by himself without any manipulation. That's also why he's so overprotective in the fic acctualy ! He's still the same brand of loyal and trusting as in canon, just this time it's to his friends and family and not the Vatican. He's also just as obsessive, but this time it's not with being a good exorcist/being a "knight in shinning armour" but with being a good brother and keeping those he loves safe !

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

In the original fic ? "......... I won't allow them to pay for crimes they didn't commit. Even if I have to go against the entier order to do so." From chapter 2. This line is said by Arthur after he found out about the twin's father. I like it bc this shows the diffrences between canon and big bro Arthur really well. Also establishes that Arthur is loyal to people rather than institutions in this fic. If we talk abt the rewritte- the line has yet to be written and published 😅

5: What part was hardest to write?

Nothing rly, it all came to me pretty easily. But if I had to say one thing I'd say that I struggled quite a bit with the start of chapter 7 of the OG fic. Restarted that one quite a bit.

10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story?

I don't rly have any pairing for the fic in the romantic sense, as for the reason why I wrote it with an focus on Arthur & Rin ? They are my favs and I think they make a fun pair. I do plan on AngelLight happning in the rewritte tho (once I get off my hiatus) since I just like the ship. The two are cute together and Lewin is the best ship for Arthur imo.

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?

I don't rly listen to music to get into the mood for it tbh. I mostly write in short and inconsistent burst of inspiration or inclination to write smth about it. What I DO have however is a spotify playlist with songs that give me big bro Arthur vibes, here's the link if ya want to listen to it. I also have an unlisted YouTube playlist with some songs in it from an idea I had of Arthur singing the twins lullabies ! Rly it's just songs I could see big bro Arthur singing for Rin and YUkio, will props include the idea in the rewritte !

14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?

Nope. This fic is supposed to be harmless fun for all of us us. So, that conclused all the questions ! 1. How many works do you have on ao3?

I currently have 93 works, which feels like too many and also not nearly enough.

2. What's your total ao3 word count?

1,476,428. The vast majority of that was written last year. What??

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Pretty much Harry Potter. I've dabbled in Supernatural publicly and a few others privately, but nothing else have ever really stuck for writing.

I do not anymore, though I used to try very hard to keep up with them. I don't have a reason other than that I get distracted too easily and then they build up and it feels overwhelming and I finally figured out that I was stressing myself out over them. But I read each and every one repeatedly, return to them often, and I love and appreciate all of them.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

What sort of question is that? How am I meant to choose? I have too many fics with angsty endings. I guess I'll say Wasteland just because of the build up to the ending?

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I, shockingly, have a lot of fics with happy endings (no one believe me), so I'm going to stick with choosing from longer, chaptered fics for this and say Scatter the Shadows, my little band AU.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I have in the past. Not so much anymore, but people don't always like or agree with what I write. That's their choice and opinion.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Not continuously, but enough. There's a small running joke that my smut is more poetic than truly smutty? So I guess that's the kind I write?

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I haven't and likely never will. Crossovers have never really done it for me.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge and I very much hope not.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I've had people ask, but I've never seen one actually done before.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! I co-wrote Family on the Mend with @tracingpatternswrites! I was super nervous about writing with someone else, but she's just lovely and I'm happy to have gained a friend from the experience.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

Wolfstar, my beloveds. I might stray but I always return.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

There are way too many, but probably YOU. I'll keep hacking away at it, but there's soooo much to it that it gets overwhelming. I even had to cave and make an outline, and just that part of it is massive.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm terrible at giving myself compliments and talking about strengths, but based on what others have told me, I think I'm very good at conveying emotions and getting into a character's head for those super deep and gritty moments.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm terrible at writing action sequences and I'll always be the first to admit that. I also feel like I constantly run out of words and start getting repetitive with the smaller details.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I love when it's done but I've rarely done it myself. And the times that I have, I've tried my best to find someone who is fluent in the language I want to include instead of stumbling through a translate service on my own, because those rarely work.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter. I'm a one horse sort of person, I guess.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

Oh, that's tough! I'm torn between At the Healing Edge of Broken because I did enjoy writing that one a lot and I love the story I got to tell, Scatter the Shadows because not only was it just insanely fun to dive into that world and all the descriptions of music along with writing actual songs with @fonkeloog, but I had so much support for that fic, and Multiplying Parents simply because I giggled my way through writing it and it still amuses me.

8) Where do you take inspiration from?

That is a very good question and I suppose it would depend on the fic in question. For my earlier stuff (2018 hyperfixation on FFXV hello there) it was a lot of songfics. Sometimes, it can be from my own experiences (Our Hearts was actually based on family stuff I had to deal with, and writing Spider's seizures and such was difficult but very therapeutic), and other times it can be from something completely random. Like, my Jaskier as a witcher series was written as a christmas present meant to be a one shot and it just got away from me. Or the sole Persona 5 fic I wrote in a month based on a professionals dance on Strictly Come Dancing. But when it does hit, it's like a fecking truck

13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?

If I was being stingy I would say Quaritch, but I can't cause his voice is so characteristic and can flow really easily. I think the one that gives me the most trouble is Norm, because trying to be sassy whilst (possibly, slightly) scientific is hard. I'm an arts student I'm not meant to know how to work a microscope help please XD

33) What's the biggest compliment you've gotten?

Oh gosh, that's really tricky to choose, because I adore and cherish every single compliment. Like, I honestly didn't think Our Hearts would be that popular at all. And I love every single comment written by someone, even the key smashes.

But if I did have to choose, I would say that my (admittedly small at first) fic pushed @eirianerisdar to start a Tonowari adopts Spider fic is the biggest compliment. I mean, when you read someone's work so voraciously you're checking your bookmarks everyday for updates, and then that person comments on your story? Ugh my heart soared the entire week.

34) What's the harshest criticism you've gotten?

Em, I don't think I've actually gotten much criticism? (touch wood). I think there's been a few kind ones that have pointed out tiny mistakes. And there was one a few years ago that told me off for not knowing the amount of traffic that would be between Philadelphia and New York. Like, sorry, I live 3000 miles from your city give or take, in a completely different country that drives on the other side of the road. I've no idea when your rush hour is mate.

Who are your top 3 gif makers?

Raven this is so mean, how could you make me choose!!! I can't pick a top three, that would feel mean. Instead I'm just gonna hand out some compliments to tua gifmakers off the top of my head. If I forget anyone, don't take it personally, it's just my brain failing me.

Starting off with you, Raven, I genuinely don't know what magic you put into your colouring, but you can make this show look so bright and so well-lit, you have such good grasp on colour in your gifsets, they are stunning.

@capinejghafa is like. A comfort gifmaker. She makes so many sets and they are usually like these little moments that I might have missed and then get to appreciate, but sometimes she busts out some incredible blending skills, it's great.

@seance an uncomfort gifmaker? literally every time she posts a set it makes me lose my mind a little and i have to yell at her in the tags. an absolute artist in combining imagery and poetry in increasingly mindblowing templates.

@viktorhargreeves has made it her mission to chronicle every single thing luther and/or viktor have done across three seasons. she colours this goddamn uncolourable show in the most fun colour combinations and has a knack to make these great dynamics gifsets that I love to bits.

@i-seeaspaceshipinthe-sky makes such good gifsets that dive into Klaus, little moments, little parallels, theirs is the first blog I go to if I am looking for specific Klaus moments because chances are they giffed them somewhere. And they have this incredibly distinct colouring that's so easily recognisable and makes the greens in this show look good (somehow. miraculously.).

@yenvengerberg is just an incredibly gifted giffer with colours, she can make this show look so good it boggles the mind. I'm still thinking about that gifset where she condensed the entire S3 trailer into one gifset with an incredible layout and really cool typography, I'm still in awe of that gifset.

@sohoseance has been doing some incredible work with these really big, colourful, almost psychedelic gifs and really bold, fun typography that I love, with colour combinations I rarely see used, she makes pink and neon green work somehow for this swamp-coloured show.

@hargreevcs makes these very cool, bold gifsets with very bright, saturated blocks of colour and fun typography that are always great tributes to the characters they are about

Shout-out to the lovely Artemis @fiveviktorklaus, I hope you're doing well and I miss your wonderful gifs.

And of course, someone I keep tagging in my gifsets in an old habit or a mournful plea, I'm not really sure, but tumblr user Tess @ogaferoga brought such a gust of fresh wind into the fandom when they crashed into it after S2, and I miss their mind-blowing creations, they really pushed gifmaking to a whole new territory (Tess, if you ever read this, I miss you).

A set that took you a long time/was really hard but you’re really proud of how it came out?

I called it the mammoth project because it genuinely took me a month or so to complete. It was just a love letter to Five and the range the kiddo gives him, and it really was a chore to figure out, but I'm still very happy with it.

5. Share one of your strengths.

... everyone just wants me to compliment myself, huh. *sigh* okay, fine.

i've already talked about my ability to write emotions many times already, and i've talked about my knack for characterization here with choco, so i guess for you, a strength i have would be my attention to detail. i've been told before that i seem to have a keen eye for detail, in both reading and writing. i think this strength really helps me catch some things in the show that most people would miss, and then be able to implement them in some way in my fics. the best examples i can think of is gods don't bleed (except you do), which is based completely on... one line that Katara says during the introduction of the show, and teach me how to live my life (because I can't remember how) because it's the little details—a lost story here, a forgotten memory there—that really culminate into the tragedy of cultural loss.

9. Which fic has been the hardest to write?

for sure see the sky and sea (and remember me), my multi-chapter Big Fish & Begonia Kataang AU. so much research on Asian & Indigenous cultures and creatures. so much time spent on pausing and playing the same scene over and over and  o v e r  again. so much brainstorming over how to make the characters in character while following the plot.

but do i regret it? heck no! it’s by far the most self-indulgent fic i’ve written by far, and it’s so freeing to be writing something all for me and just for me.

@itsmoonpeaches for her descriptions, in-depth worldbuilding, Kataangst, and very spirity shenanigans. i know she’s no longer pursuing Kataang fics in the near future, but i love how her fics always has at least some sort of plot to it that really deepens the worldbuilding of ATLA in some way. her writing is really compelling to read, and she’s really good at what she does!

@chocomd for her characterizations of Aang and Katara, the way she writes Kataang, and the way she focuses on the details and the layers in Kataang. i’m not a very romantic person at heart and can easily get squicked out by physical contact, but choco always manages to write Kataang in a way that feels intimate without being overly romantic. not to mention, the amount of details she puts in her fics and the depth she’s able to show for Kataang really puts her up there for me!

@justoceanmyth for her poetic descriptions and the way she weaves the story together to make it feel so meaningful. she also has an eye for detail and certain phrases that really blows my mind and lowkey makes me question my own writing hahaha

29. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

oof. to be honest, i don’t really do much fic reading nowadays due to... lack of quality control in fandom and also the fuzz in my brain that prevents me from being able to coherently comment

with that being said, a part of my brain has briefly thought of an idea of a spin-off to @chocomd‘s fic To Owe an Ostrich Horse, a Song-centric fic that explores the consequences of war on the little people—those whose friends and fathers and sons were drafted in the war, those who live day to day just trying to survive.

i’ve briefly thought of a Zuko-centric fic years after the war, where he (by chance) pass through the village again... and Song and her mother rip him a new one, haha. but i also want to see Zuko slowly realize the consequences of his selfish actions on people like Song and Lee, and maybe as the years go by after this chance encounter, he slowly begins to gain a new understanding of how the war affected the ordinary people.

now, i don’t think this sequel would be necessary. if anything, i feel like the way choco ended the fic is more fitting and realistic—people are capable of change, yes, but there are some things that some people won’t ever be able to learn. Zuko is one of those characters that has had immense growth, but i think it would take a lifetime for him to unlearn his colonist/imperialist/entitled mindset—and even then, i don’t think he would be able to unlearn all of it. even so, a girl can dream 🤷🏻‍♀️

on today's episode of Into Touch Thursday

let's talk about how our ocs expression their affection. I will start.

and I'm gonna use dirt in the doing because I haven't talked about all the characters enough.

Jet - acts of service:

likes to think he doesn't get attached easily, but he does and once he is, he's pretty protective

shows his affection through actions

will buy someone a meal or share a snack

will fight anyone if his friend is threatened or scared of anything, he'll become a shield

clumsy with words of affirmation but is willing to try

subtle touches like a hand on a shoulder or head pat

Rune - acts of service:

honesty is the best policy so she is very direct with her affection

whether she likes you or not she'll tell you what she thinks

but if she likes you then she'll try to make you know your strengths and positive traits

will also fight anyone if she has to, enjoys it less than Jet

likes to use very obvious gestures like inviting someone to crash at her place or asking them out for drinks or just checking in with them point blank

absent-minded touches that may or may not be more about her own comfort

Copper - words of affirmation:

he's pretty good with words too, which helps

naturally empathic and uses that to help others process their emotions

is a stable emotional support but will hit you where it hurts

to help you work on trauma of course

subtle touches like Jet except he's not trying to be subtle

hard for him to stay quiet but will just spend time with someone if they need it

Yarrow - quality time:

just wants to hang out with his friends all the time

says a lot of nonsense to make people smile

says a lot of nonsense that also kinda makes sense to make people feel seen and understood

loves drawing his friends and capturing them in moments of rawness

a joker, an authentic, chaotic soul

he's got your back, unequivocally

Moss - quality time:

also acts of service because he's just a guy who likes to give people a home

creating refuge from society in a quiet motorcycle garage is actually something that can be so personal

he's not here to tell anyone how to live their life

he's just here to teach them so life skills and suggest that they don't act too recklessly or at least let him take care of them afterward

Hawk - words of affirmation:

takes everything a little too personally even if he says he doesn't

so if gets attached to someone he feels their hurts and wants to help them in their endeavors

is pretty eloquent when he gets out of his head and always tries to find new angles to look at things

small, offhand compliments that he pretends he doesn't mean

slightly awkward but entirely sincere encouragement when someone is choosing to share their frustrations with him

he really doesn't have any answers but he'll metaphor his way into helping you if it's the last thing he gets to say

Shadow - physical touch:

but he doesn't know that. he doesn't know he's extremely touch-starved and it's going to be a major breakthrough for him later

craves praise but thinks he doesn't deserve it

needs to be around people, but thinks he's a bother

so usually he relies on small acts of service to show his affection

tiny things. getting a cup of water for someone. handing them a towel. helping prepare food. carrying a bag.

anything to let his friends a little bit of how much he appreciates them

when he figures out the touch thing there'll be a lot of hugging

This got super long so below the read more are some thoughts I had about the Phantom of the Paradise

I'm sure this has been commented on many times before. But, I can't get over how fun it was that same three actors played as the three bands The Juicy Fruits, The Beach Bums, and the Undeads skdbskdjsk. It was like a little 'Hey I know them!!!' all four times they were on screen

I noticed it in the movie as soon as we got a close look at the Beach Bums Yellow T-shirt singer because he was the one who had the longest look at when he was the Juicy Fruits lead singer into the intro Eddie song. Then I stared harder at the other two and saw their similarity too!

I saw someone refering to them as separate characters somewhere (can't remember where), like three new bands. But the way I figured, they were the same performers just Swan kept making them reinvent their image.

They exploded in the blue car 30m in, and then we see them in bandages and slings, looking injured later at about 46m when introducing Beef to the press. Then their final appearance at 56m is opening the show for Beef's main act.

So you can see the decline in their favour with Swan, as they got injured (damaged and "a reflection of the past") he suddenly grew bored of them they were relegated to the side and given smaller roles to compliment Beef. However, even before that they were moulded to what Swan wanted e.g. The Beach Bums. I'm assuming they were stuck there because they must have signed Swan's contract as well.

Onto another point, It's interesting that Beef and Phoenix didn't get forced to change their image. I know it's just how the plot worked but in thinking about how The Trio got switched up so often it's got me thinking about their counterparts. When you first see Beef it's because Swan is looking for "something really heavy" for Faust and chooses him. So Beef doesn't have a major appearance change through the film because he already fits the criteria.

Phoenix also doesn't change her appearance majorly - but that is prob put down to the fact he plans to have her assassinated shortly after her debut because he noticed the public's hunger for the Spectacle of Death live on stage (don't get me STARTED on the theme parallels with Nope 2022 about dying/injury of performers live for an audience as a Spectacle to consume).

And in my opinion because he's got to be In Control - and he didn't choose her Winslow did which he probably hated. Swan said at about 43m "She's perfect. But you know how I abhor perfection in anyone but myself". She's a threat to his sense of Perfection, and imo he wants to spite Winslow and regain his sense of Authority. Later on Phoenix easily enchanting the crowd without Swan giving the say so after Beef dies is a testament to how the Phantom keeps challenging his dominion by maiming and killing his talent and also he must be soooo mad she sung Faust BEAUTIFULLY without his control and Perfectly. Imagine intentionally damaging/sabotaging your Art because nothing can be perfect except yourself... no content creator would ever do that!!! He calls Winslows work "my cantata" and the absolute surety and ease with which Swan says it really stuck in my head as disgusting. I bet he never ever had a creative thought himself and stole everything he ever "created".

Maybe if Beef hadn't died via lightning bolt he would've gone through Swan's process of transformation too? Maybe Swan was only figuring out the music genre what he wanted for his great project The Paradise using the Trio and usually didn't meddle with his contractees style? Wonder what would've become of Beef once the Cantato had finished, probably discarded as another 'reflection of the past'. Swan had been working on it for years as his masterpiece... what happens after? His hunger for Spectacle would not simply disappear, so would be onto stealing another grand masterpiece of music? Or more likely with Phoenix murdered and a camera recording it close up to be morbidly repeated for the public would he pursue designing even more grusome Spectacles of Death? He was ready to khs in the 1950s and film it, so he already had thought about Death as performance and this had clearly been reignited. He had eternal youth, huge wealth, and had just turned his eye towards murder not just as 'get rid of the problem' aka secretly brick up Winslow in a room, but outright murder as entertainment. I could talk about this movie forever....... I didn't even touch on half the things I've been thinking about!!!!
