Hazbin Hotel Episode 5-6 Hot Takes! ~

Lucifer doesn't really seem like a necessarily "good" dad or "bad" dad. He's definitely not the greatest at all but it really does suck that Charlie was pretty much isolated from him. Not completely his fault I'm sure.

I know it's obvious at this point that Lucifer & Alastor don't like each other...but you can definitely tell Alastor HATES him. His face was just stuck on stink the entire time.

To follow that up, I wonder why Alastor doesn't like Lucifer so much. Maybe it has to do with Lilith or Eve?

I like Lucifer's personality despite being the literal Devil he's actually very goofy. I don't think this was even a hot take. Lol.

Alastor saying fuck is the funniest thing in this show so far. It was actually gold. Bless him.

I hate that there was actual discourse surrounding episode 5 regarding Charlastor, and that people who hate the ship took the opportunity to either be pissed about their interactions, or celebrate that the ship is dead.

Hell's Greatest Dad was a nice song I really enjoyed it. Alastor and Lucifer sounded great.

A lot of people have already said this, but I think it's pretty obvious that Alastor was only trying to piss Lucifer off with the daughter comments. I don't think he actually sees him & Charlie as family.

Saying that Charlie can almost call Alastor Daddy was jaw dropping lol. I don't get how the ship is dead. It's definitely revived.

Even though it was already obvious to so many I was still gagged when the Vaggie Angel theory was finally confirmed. I love the way she met Charlie.

Not a hot take but I fucking hate Lute & Adam for doing Vaggie like that. She definitely didn't deserve it. All she did was spare one fucking child. They're evil.

The blackmailing Vaggie thing was very anticlimactic and dumb as fuck especially since they made Vaggie avoid being questioned. It would've been more interesting if Vaggie did what Adam said and spoke against Charlie at the meeting.

I've come to realize that Heaven is just shit and nobody knows what they're doing. The fact that they have a piece of shit like Adam up there and he himself doesn't know why he's there in the first place is very telling.

I don't think Cherri is a bad friend at all, but it was very off putting for her to constantly peer pressure Angel Dust when he's been trying to have a good streak. I get that she's a party animal and don't give a fuck but she could at least be mindful of her friend that's trying to stop their bad habits.

Angel being protective of Nifty when she was drunk was so cute. I'm happy he saved her from Val even if she didn't need it.

"You didn't know" was meh. It had some good parts I liked the overlapping of "Hell Is Forever" but thats really it.

I feel like Charlie is going to forgive Vaggie pretty quickly. I don't think this dramatic revelation of her past is going to cause that big of a rift in their relationship at all, especially with how quick they made up in episode 3.

☄. *. ⋆*·˚ Leo suns are pretty warm people. I mean it as in they make you feel welcome in a new place and try to help you socialize with their friends. Even though they are really popular and usually in the center, they'll talk to you, pay attention to how you're feeling and encourage you to talk more in the group! It may put you on the spot, but that's how they show they care. I find it really sweet, they just want to help you get out there and approach people. They're great friends, especially if you were around toxic people previously, these fellas will kinda heal you in a way ❤️‍🩹

☄. *. ⋆ Leo risings also have a confident vibe surrounding them. Even those who are more on the introverted side give off the impression that they are quite dynamic? Idk how to explain this, they just kind of stand out. I think it's more obvious when they're with their closest friends, they're usually the ones cracking jokes, being loud, taking up a more leader-like(?) role. Part time entertainers, part time hype people. You go guys, let's keep up the fun vibes in our friend groups ☀️

☄. *. ⋆ Libras are so charming for no reason?? Like, both personality and appearance wise, I'm amazed. I love how they always listen to both sides of the story and try to find solutions that are fair to everyone. They're generally sweet and angelic, they tend to forgive a lot (don't you think they'll forget it tho, they'll probably be more cautious around you afterwards) up until you hurt them deeply. After that, they get sarcastic and cold, you do not want to get on their bad side. Regarding their physical appearance, I've noticed a lot of them have full lips and freckles (or multiple beauty marks on their face). I'm getting a cute energy just by looking at them, I don't know why, I just found every Libra I've met so far adorable in a way. Sure, they're mostly described as handsome and beautiful (and they are, not gonna lie) but I'm just seeing an innocent? youthful and carefree image of them. Also they're kinda curvy? Even the more lean ones are a little thick in the booty or thighs. 🤭

☄. *. ⋆ I've noticed Scorpios suddenly becoming really soft and smiley around kids and pets. They'll start cooing and waving at the kids, might even talk or play with them (if they know them well). Similarly, they'll get excited at the sight of a puppy or a kitten and will probably pet them and give them snacks. And what amazes new even more is that kids and pets seem to like them back! I don't know what it is about Scorpios and their energy, but I've seen so many babies/toddlers staring and smiling at my Scorpio peers in fascination, and whenever we encounter stray animals they seem to gravitate towards them. It's really cute to see that, warms my heart a lot. Like, intimidating who? I'm only seeing cute happy people ☺️

☄. *. ⋆ Capricorn moons have a hard time opening up about things that bother them. Even if they feel the most comfortable with you, they'll most likely hide some things. Your upbringing could be genuinely good, with no one really hurting you deeply, yet you still struggle with your emotions and might have low self confidence. Probably people pleasers, even if your mind is telling you to do your own thing instead, you will probably have a hard time saying no. And don't get me started on this whole conflict of what you want exactly. You finally start living on your own like you've always wanted and make time for yourself? Yeah, but why is no one here to pat you on the back and give you reassurance yet? Where's the support? Hate independence. The Ninjago Battle Box: the best investment of my life

A few days ago I got bored and made a somewhat impulsive decision to buy the ninjago battle box which I've been wanting for a while and it finally arrived today so I'm gonna reveiw it cause I haven't seen like anyone talk about it. It dosent even have its own wiki page even though it is chock full of fun facts and information and pictures

The map:

HOLY SHIT THIS IS COOL. As far as I'm aware this might be the most detailed map of ninjago we've ever gotten and no one is even aware of it! What I think is the most interesting and what makes me question how cannon this is is that the main map of ninjago only covers like... 1/4 of the whole ninjago island? Kinda odd how like all the locations are in this tiny chunk when they have a whole island they could cover but hey its still a super cool map and an amazing piece of art!

The book of battles:

Kind of a weird thing and I couldn't find any information on what it was until I got it. Basically each page is a rough (and not 100% accurate) summary of one of the battles of ninjago, a vague but still pretty obvious clue about where the battle took place, a prompt to play and a neat art piece based on the battle. It's not so much a history book as it is a book of play ideas, your meant to use the clue to find where the battle took place on the map and then use the little battle dojo, the minifigures and the cards to play out the battle however you want. Very cute and I love it. One weird thing I found though: in one of the battles it calls the serpentine the serpentai? It's done 3 times so I don't think it's just a typo. Don't know what's going on there but its cool. Here's an example of the best page, they're all formatted the same

It only has a handful of battles, not nearly all of them, but that's to be expected and it's still great

Ninjago world guide:

It's like a little encyclopedia of heros, villains and artifacts. It includes the main ninja, the elemental masters, all the villains (up to season 15 and strangely excluding the overlord), and a bunch of non people important things like the bounty and the realm crystal. Pretty much nothing I don't already know but still neat! It's kinda cool how it's split into 2 sections, one half being heros and good artifacts and the other being villains and bad artifacts. I don't know how to describe it but theyre kinda facing different ways? It's like 2 books in one, both starting on the outsides and meeting/ending in the middle like so.

The cards:

I wish I could show off all the cars but sadly tumblr has a limit to how many pictures you can have in one post. Cards include heros, villains and artifacts, similar to the world guide but not quite as many things, just the important ones. Theyre pretty simple, with just the name/title and a drawing of the character/item. Theyre meant to be used to play the battles in the book of battles. Morro's is the absolute best one look at this little cutie pie!

The minifigures and the box itself:

Nothing really special about the minifigs just a basic Lloyd and Garmadon. Interesting to note that despite wearing his season 8 gi Lloyd has his legacy hood on. Not complaining, I hate the smooth round hoods.

The box that everything came in doubles as the little play area :D its a little dojo setting with some cute nicknacks scattered around. It needs a bit of encouragement to stay flat though. Oh also here's the outside of the box

Conclusion:

The best $25 I've ever spent. I can't believe almost no one knows or talks about this! It's from 2023 and covers up until seabound. I might have to see if I can add this stuff to the ninjago wiki, more people should know about it. If anyone else is interested in getting one (you should be) it's on the scholastic website for $17.99 + shipping, not the actual lego website.

okay the full review in a pros and cons list lol

pros:

uh my ship canon. i win, motherfuckers. fuckin 15 year old me was right this whole time, as always, but it's nice to see it acknowledged for once.

the confession scene also just kicked ass tbh

i gotta admire the cheekiness of the back and forth hesitant phrasing of their relationship, eg crowley referring to '...us' and aziraphale's 'i need you!' 'we can be together' etc until finally crowley just runs back to kiss him

and you know aziraphale was about to say 'i love you' before cutting himself off <3

touching his lips after too <3

the reasons for the break up felt reasonable to me and justified with the season's flashbacks to crowley questioning things and aziraphale's resistance

some pretty funny jokes, i laughed outloud a few times

michael sheen and david tennant do have excellent chemistry

never gonna say no to side lesbians even if they were incredibly bland

i think the way it was structured like a fanfic was a pro honestly lol. the plot sucked, i don't care about it, so it's nice that the story itself also doesn't care

amnesiac gabriel was endearing

crowley not kiling goats was cute

ty tennant was in it for about a minute and spent that minute hitting on aziraphale and it was fucking bonkers

like i think job and his wife may have literally been the sole exception including like references to offscreen spouses lmao, i'm v impressed, and if this is penance for last season then i forgive.

i thought it was cute that gaiman incorporated the song he wanted for season 1 into this season as a plot point

beelzebub's new actor was so much better. and the flies were somehow kinda cute, i'll give the gabriel/beelzebub ship that.

good old fashioned lover boy. we all wanted it, they gave it to us, i appreciate it

cons:

mostly sucked as like, a narrative

tennant's fucking performance as crowley was so annoying, he or the director doubled down on what i hated last season and stripped him of all the endearing humanizing aspects of his performance and the result was like watching donald duck screaming for 6 episodes

the chemistry was still there but the actual pining kiiiiinda wasn't, actually lol. oh they referred to it in scripted moments, jokes, parallels, and straightforward statements, but they didn't... show it, particularly. until the confession nothing even approaches the tenderness and emotion of like any of their season 1 scenes, let alone the car scene or the bus stop scene or the ritz or the french revolution rescue or the blitz or eden etc etc. and david tennant did not say one word in that cute hopeful pining tone

to be honest after watching the whole show this is the most disappointing part. like the car scene??? could i not get a sequel to that? let crowley be tender!!!!

i think the reason we don't get scenes like that, other than perhaps uncomfortable restraint due to acknowledging the romance textually, is that they went from crowley practically begging aziraphale to cave and fuck him for centuries to crowley now angry repressed and needing a push to say anything, which also felt wrong to me, like iffy fanfic characterization

it was bad enough that i was nervous they were going to depict neither as actually aware of their feelings. thankfully they did not, and it still feels like crowley has been pining for a thousand years and they've both been aware but dancing around it, with the way the confession was phrased. that should be a pro, actually.

also yk all the obvious things. dumb jokes, a lot of bad acting (i feel like the director is at fault though tbf), not into the twee tone in general for the most part, a lot of scenes that were way too drawn out, utterly nonsensical narrative, characters doing things for no reason other than convenience constantly (why do the lesbians stay to help fight the demons? because their characters are more important and need more screen time), 0 stakes wrt heaven and hell because they're all so wholly ineffectual as antagonists and neither crowley nor aziraphale ever gave a shit about their threats, etc etc

oh lol nina sosanya being cast again as a brand new character, no relation to sister mary loquacious. it's not a big con since i like her and was happy to see her again, but it did feel lazy lol. at least give me the identical twin cousin explanation

was crowley living out of his car a joke bc they don't have the set from last season? did god not restore his flat like the bookshop? what's up with that? and how much time has passed since last season anyway? why didn't he get a new flat? why is he living in his car? what's going on?

nightingale references at the end felt tacked on and awkward to me tbh

crowley's kinda hilariously gary stuish honestly, making me really miss the book and even season 1 where he was like, yk, fucking incompetent sometimes. here he's lounging on couches without a care while being threatened by heaven and hell multiple times, pulling off perfect shots with no practice, waltzing into heaven without a second thought, bluffing demons easily and successfully, etc. and that's in addition to being right about everything and also being raphael like what happened to my dumbass low-level loser fave who fucked up the apocalypse by accident and lived in terror of phone calls from hell???

heaven and hell are "toxic" lol? that phrasing is so awkward, and like, i'd say minimizing but i guess tbf they didn't pose much of a threat in this season. but still c'mon, why you describing 2 murderous doomsday cults/cold warring governments as toxic like they're your annoying ex? especially after the running gag about nina's shitty girlfriend constantly therapy speaking at her condescendingly lol. how about 'hey remember how they worked together to try to kill us last season?'

oh gabriel/beelzebub of course lol, whatever happened to neil gaiman being unable to read fanfic or even people's headcanon posts for fear of accidentally plagiarizing ideas? bring back the separation between fandom and creator stat, fandom has way too much influence here and fandom fucking sucks

Just gonna throw out an issue I got with botw and totk, and maybe some else will recognize it too: All the more... love interest like female characters feel kinda simpery. Like if they're written to be romantic into Link or another male character, they'll be completely besotted by them in a very obvious way. Not saying they don't have any other personality besides that, but it's still a very big and noticeable part of them, all blushing and starry eyed. Example: Yona, Paya, Zelda, and kinda Sonia. Them being into a male character Sidon, LinkX2 and Rauru respectively feels like a really big part of how they're portrayed, it's like a personality cornerstone of them. Meanwhile the males, even if they are canon with the female character, Sidon and Rauru, just feel a lot more like their own personality and character still stands above their partner. (Though Sidon's writing is pretty weak in totk) But even other male characters with a slightly bigger role, eg Tauro or Kass, just don't get portrayed at all like they care abt romance, even if in Kass'es case he's married? It's only the named girls with a bigger role in the story, and who "fit" into the sweet cute girl trope. Kinda hard to explain, but it just feels like most of the girls are the exact same trope of "cute and small-femme" aka "easy waifu material".

I agree, and I'd extend your list to Mipha as well, which I kind of always felt very "??? okay" about (I think the fandom has done fun things with her and what's hinted of her relationship with Sidon is heartwarming, but her actual characterization is very very barebones).

But I also want to add that it's kiiind of a Zelda honored tradition --not a good one, but Ocarina of Time is straight up unbearable in that department imo: every cute girl that interacts with Link is so extraordinarily into him, and it's very effective in sending the message that the game is for a certain audience first and foremost (young boys). And even as far as BotW/TotK, characters like Paya and Mipha are written to be interacted with, not to be discovered; they're not written like characters you could project yourself onto but as receptacles to your own projection onto Link.

I agree that girls are defined by their romantic lives in pretty extreme ways (*banging my extremely bruised up gerudo pan once again*), and the rare "main" girls who do not behave like this (thinking of Purah, Impa, Riju, Buliara, Josha, Mineru, Cece) are all detached from romantic subplots --but it doesn't save a lot of them from the small-femme/easy waifu archetype.

(can I throw the Great Fairies into the pile of "female characters Zelda is weird about"? I don't know. I feel..... conflicted emotions about the Great Fairies, always have, always will. But. They exist.)

(I once pretended to be a Great Fairy to surprise a friend by wrapping myself in vines --I was clothed-- and then banged my knee against a tree stump when bursting out from behind it with the horrible laughter, it hurt really bad, anyway)

He's bi. Definitely bi. More into women than men, but he's an equal opportunity flirt.

Tommy/Oliver or Tommy/Oliver/Laurel - there are a few other ships for him I like, but not to the point I'd call them an OTP

Tommy & Oliver & Thea where Tommy is the unofficial third Queen sibling - after all, he is actually Thea's sibling for real already

Tommy/Thea for what are probably pretty obvious reasons. I feel so bad for Thea in season 1 knowing that part of her freak out in season 2 over having her biological parentage kept from her is knowing that she hit on her own brother and her mother never warned her.

5: first headcanon that pops into my head

In the Earth Prime universe, Tommy took Laurel's last name and became Tommy Lance. After his dad tried to blow up half the city and nearly killed Tommy along with it, he's not exactly keen to stay a Merlyn. So it makes sense that when he married Laurel, it was the Lance family name he wanted to honor and continue.

6: favorite line from this character

I really like this exchange:

Tommy: Dinah Laurel Lance always trying to save the world. Laurel: Hey. If I don't try and save it, who will?

It's very cute. And I do enjoy Tommy/Laurel even they're not an OTP to me, so having them be flirty while also kinda summing themselves up at the same time? He wants to support Laurel even though no one ever really taught him how to do that and she wants to save people be it as part of CNRI or as the Black Canary.

7: one way in which I relate to this character

Tommy struggles a lot with his feelings of not being good enough and when I was his age (when this show began he was older, now I am, how dare time work like this) so did I. Admittedly, for very different reasons. I've definitely found my sense of self confidence and self worth, though, and I'd like to think that Earth Prime Tommy did too, even though we didn't get to see it happen.

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character

He can be a little misogynistic at times. I do see it as something he's growing out of over the course of S1. End of season Tommy is way less prone to making an ass of himself objectifying women the way start of season Tommy is, so at least it's something he's got character growth about.

I used to really like Felicity/Oliver and then the ship became canon and I just... didn't like the way they kinda brought out the worst in each other at times *shrug* a good example of being careful what you wish for, I suppose. Some ships are better left to fanon.

I actually really like the show Laurel/Oliver as exes, that was a fun dynamic for them. Though for the comics its Dinah/Oliver all the way.

Oliver & Dig especially though. It is fun seeing their friendship grow and be tested and come out stronger in the end. I was glad that if Oliver had to show up one last time on the Flash that Dig was there to see him and say goodbye.

The former... I do like her and Ollie on the show, they're cute but... she's a cop and comics Oliver would never.

Isabel having been one of Oliver's father's affairs and her only sleeping with Oliver to get revenge on a dead man who chose not to abandon his children is gross and squicks me so much when it happens on the show.

Honestly, I don't really know that I relate to him. He's a very different person from me which is probably what makes him such an interesting character to delve into when writing.

Joining the cops??? I thought his inability to stop lying to people about shit could not be topped and then the final season happened. Comics Oliver would disown show Oliver over that one. He may not have been an real police officer, but working with the cops like that was just... crossing a line that should not have been crossed with this character.

Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san - Rant

I am currently watching season 2 and I have some thoughts (about both seasons).

First of all why did I start watching this anime? Erm... So I know what the target audience is, it's people who self insert as Naoto and want to date Nagatoro. As for me? Oh, it's the other way around. I think Naoto is cute and I want to bully him. I thought maybe my female friends were similar but the only friend I have who read the manga wants to make out with Nagatoro. Sorry, I forgot lesbians exist.

Uh, anyway yeah Naoto is cute and I want to be Nagatoro. Not sure if girls like me watching this was intended since these anime are usually made for lonely dudes, lol. Anyone else feel like me though?

Okay, so, my thoughts on season 1... Lemme check the episodes to bring back my memory a little bit, as I watched that to calm down from the stress that is social work during last Winter.

The first two episodes made me really scared to watch this series, for real. Nagatoro just straight up mentally tortured Naoto, and not in the hot way. I felt really bad for him because I know what it's like to be the shy nerd kid. Anyways at around episode 3, I think, Nagatoro starts showing her softer side more. And she hardcore crushes on Naoto.

The dynamic between Nagatoro and Naoto is really cute in my opinion, even if it is very simple. Nagatoro has her first crush because she finally found a guy that doesn't bore her to death but she doesn't know how to handle it so she bullies the fuck out of him. Naoto is pretty much the opposite? He doesn't really realize how much he likes Nagatoro sometimes and thinks he would rather not be around her. He tries to manage that by fighting her off in which classic anime romcom things happen. You know the "Holy crap you did something on accident, PERVERT!" thing, except it sometimes works really well. Maybe it's just because I think both of them are really cute, but I like when they have their little "Oh god, we both fucked up" moments.

Then there's the more obvious romance aspects and they're by far my favorite. The momens of honesty and the cute glances... Yep, they're adorable. I don't want to give away too much, sorry. Just know it's, in my opinion, the best thing in the series.

I don't care for the side characters by the way, but they can be enertaining when they point out how obviously both of our main characters are trying to "prove" that they don't like each other. They're the audience, the "just kiss already!" guys.

Also funny face cute. I like when she snaps. I like her. The cutesy. Okay no, for real, I love when Naoto and Nagatoro support or protect each other when they really need it. They can be a bitshitty towards each other sometimes but in the end they're actually kinda... healthy? Like Nagatoro is creepy but I love when the girl is a creep instad of the guy, since Naoto is actively watching out not to disturb Nagatoro. And how she will constantly accuse him of being a creep makes sense later when you realize that she's actually much worse than him, lol.

Okay let's get to season 2, since I keep using too many screencaps of that season anyway.

Oh boy, another anime studio took over with season 2 (now OLM, before it was Telecom) and it's very noticeable. The animation is stiff and sometimes just straight up doesn't move right, the art is a lot more bland, in season 1 there were a lot of beautiful warm colors and lineart, and the voice direction is very strange... That and also our main characters seem to regress a bit? Now being overly flustered over small things that they would've been fine with in season 1? I get it, they're supposed to be cute and awkward but it's the classic romcom regression...

I'm in the middle of watching season 2 and sadly the things I loved in season 1 just aren't that apparent anymore. It's still cute and I love Naoto and Nagatoro together, but I can hardly pay attention to that when Naoto is animated like Chargeman Ken.

Anyway, Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san will forever be my biggest guilty-pleasure comfort anime and I'm only a little ashamed.

-HONESTLY???????? the normalest about it. unsurprised if he had picked up a few himself. they might not be comfort items persay but they're definitely some funny little guys he's got scattered around whatever makeshift shitshow of a 'house' he's got. (he kicks and swings his legs and talks to them about how one of his diy slaughter time contestants got brutally murdered that day)

-HE DIGS IT THOUGH !!! the first time he noticed he probably just flat out asked you about it. just kinda. "WHAT'S THAT ?" very suddenly no prompting. we love a unsubtlety queen. if they have any sort of elaborate reason you care abt em a whole lot then he's happy to hear if you wanna share !! might not have too much to say but he'll definitely listen. despite how loud he can be i think he's a fan of just hanging out and listening to you at times. he can't do it SUPER often just by virture of the near endless energy this guy's got but . there's definitely a few nights where he'll just lean against you while you go on abt something. he's pretty quiet and his shaking seems to dull for a time. it serves as a nice rest before you two do some crazy shit again.

-sleeps with said plushie in between the two of you or keeps a hand on it if you sleep with ur back to his chest. it's cute until he's partly laying on top of you and snoring. <3333 rip best friend. does it partly just for comfort (keeps you + something important to you close) and to keep it safer (he knows it's important to you and lord fucking forbid anything happens to it because he WILL tear someone to shreds about it. he sleeps pretty heavy until something's moving, then he's up faster then you can say 'it's 10am can i please go grab water.')

-if you were embarassed abt it at all he's just kind of . jaw drop . "CLOWN WOULD NEVER JUDGE !!! :(" type deal . like . have you seen this guy. are you really going to worry about cringe culture when you've got this undead clown zombie of a meow meow. are you really going to worry about someone making fun of you when your partner is slamming a stop-sign through someone's head as a fun little prank. if yes then he's going to be as cringe fail as possible in front of you. it's bad. /j

-ok controversial take but hear meout. HEAR ME OUT !!!!!! he's probably got something similar going on. it might not be with something as normal / obvious as a plush but . there are a few knives and jackets of his he barely even likes some people LOOKING at. he might not totally get the appeal / idea at first but once you explain that it's just something that brings you comfort and makes you feel better they just kinda 'oh ok.'

-NOT MUCH TO SAY ... they're pretty neutral about it. just like 'yeah me, my s/o and their plush,' there's really nothing big going on there. it's just something they associate with you and if it makes you happy then why should they care ???

-of course though they do care if someone else is giving you shit about it. then they very much so care. they actually care quite a lot. i don't think i need to elaborate much here i think this point somewhat says itself i think you know damn well what actions Hank J. Wimbleton would take if someone was going to give their s/o shit about something that makes them happy. it's safe to say you don't get to much of this- whether because people are smart enough to keep their mouths shut or because they don't live long enough for you to hear about it is really a toss up.

-they're honestly just happy you trust them enough to reveal a pretty vulnerable sort of secret to them, in a sense.

-thinks its a LITTLE funny but less in a 'lol why do you have a plush /derogatory' kind of way and more in a 'hey check out my kick-ass cool s/o and their kick-ass cool plush' way . like . similarly to hank, he's just really happy you feel comfortable enough to hold onto em around him. he likes seeing all the different sides and parts of you a whole lot, and f one of those parts just so happens to be an attachment to a plush then ohhh good heavens he will swoon just as much as he does for every other bit of you.

-gets so used to it that he gets kinda confused whenever you don't have em. movie nights just aren't the same without the plush babe c'mooooonnnnn :( .... jokingly refers to the plush like a kid at some points to get a little laugh out of you every now and then. like tricky in that he'll usually sleep with it between the two of you, for similar reasons and also just becase uhhh it comfy . <3 it gives him a good excuse to stay huddled close to you which is especially nice because A) nevada is pretty cold at night and B) He Likes You.

-will get into an argument / fist fight if someone gives you shit for it most assuredly. if you'd prefer he didn't make a scene then he won't !! he'll totally back down and step off if that's what you'd prefer. just don't expect for him to not make a point to them at one point or another that 'hey, maybe fucking with the s/o of the guy who can just start fires at will and is pretty good at digging up just about anything in any sort of digital capacity isn't a great idea?? maybe not ideal?? for health or social purposes not a perfect plan???'

-again . not much 2 write home about .

-in all honesty he just thinks it's pretty cute. similarly to the others, he likes seeing a softer side to you. there's just something about the vulnerability and normality of it he enjoys a lot. given he seems to show the most emotion in canon, he's a fan of having that sort of closeness with you. it's hard to properly put into words, he just enjoys knowing that despite the fucked up circumstances he's got someone who's got just as much heart as him by his side through it all.

-in a sort of roundabout way, having his hook and some medical experience lends itself pretty well to having a good enough idea of sewing to fix small rips and tears up should they ever occur. he's not the greatest teacher in the world, but he's deifnitely free to help you figure it out. if his hands linger after ghosting yours to fix your grip / positioning on anything then ohhh well (if you point it out he weakly plays innocent, you can call his bluff pretty easy but he considers it a win long as it gets a smile out of you.)

-might not get into any big fights if anyone's giving you lip for it but . that's less because he's letting it slide and more because he doesn't wanna cause a big scene and draw attention, given on any apprehension you might've had about revealing this part of yourself to him, he doesn't exactly wanna end up broadcasting that to just anyone. not 2 worry though !! he's good with words in private, so it's safe to say people'll lay off of you sooner rather than later.

Aw this was such a cute yet sad idea, and I just had to write it! BachiSagi angst really gnaws at my heart strings since I don't like seeing either of them sad lol. Here is what I cooked up for you though!

While staring at the rankings after a match, Isagi can't seem to get his mind off of the past, and his thoughts keep circling back to one person in particular. His eyes have been locked onto Bachira's name on the ranking board for quite some time...

“Wow, he’s really moving up huh?” Isagi was shaken from his reverie by Chigiri’s voice. He had been staring at the most recent ranking’s posted in the main hall of the Blue Lock facility, when Chigiri had decided to join him as well. Though, Isagi’s eye wasn’t trained on his own name, and neither was Chigiri’s. 

“Yeah, Bachira’s amazing…” Isagi said wistfully. He glanced at Chigiri who laughed softly. 

“And how do you know I was talking about Bachira, hm?” He asked Isagi with an amused smirk. Isagi looked away then, his embarrassment showing clearly on his face. Great, could you be any more obvious? He berated himself as he searched for an answer. “Forget it, I’m just teasing. You have been staring at the board pretty hard, though.” Chigiri said.

“Have I…?” Isagi asked as he continued to stare upwards at Bachira’s name. It was right next to his own now, they were evenly matched in terms of price as well. Isagi wondered how long it must have taken for them both to reach this point on the ranking’s board, and how impossible it had seemed so long ago to achieve anything close to it without the other right beside them. Actually…how long has it been…? He tried to remember the last time he and Bachira actually got to train together or even play in a match as opponents, but no matter what his memory came up short. The last memory he held of them being next to one another was when they both had lunch the day before they were assigned to different teams. 

Bachira had been so excited then, he wouldn’t stop talking to Isagi about which team he was going to pick. Back then, Isagi was happy to just support him in his endeavors no matter what choice he made. He had even bitterly thought to himself that it was ridiculous to think Bachira would want to follow behind him. Or that it’d be pathetic for him to try and follow Bachira. He couldn’t bring himself to possibly say any of that, or make some desperate plea to try to be on the same team. 

Because Bachira looked so happy. He couldn’t possibly take that away from him. So he kept his mouth shut, and when Bachira went off to BarchaSpain, Isagi said nothing still. Except to tell him it was a good choice. 

“Training’s been kinda hellish hasn’t it? I feel like passing out every time it’s finally over…” Chigiri spoke from beside him, and Isagi gave a half hearted reply. “But you know…I heard from Anri that Bastard Munchen’s getting a special matchup. Some kind of game not associated with the whole NEL thing…like a promotion?” 

Isagi craned his head in interest, yet he still had his eye trained on the ranking board. 

“It’s supposed to be a big game between Noa and Lavinho. That’ll be a crazy match to see, certainly. Too bad I won’t be there to watch…” Isagi’s head swiveled in Chigiri’s direction who was nonchalantly checking his nails out. 

“What did you say?” Isagi asked. 

“Oh? Are you interested, Isagi? Those ranking’s seemed to have you really enamored, so-” 

“Noa and Lavinho are going to…have a match soon?” Isagi’s heart leapt into his throat as Chigiri smirked. 

“Did I not just say that? Anyways, good luck you’ll definitely need it. They’ve got some pretty good talent on that team.” Chigiri said with a smile. “Though, you knew that already. After all, you’ve been watching the ranking’s all day.” 

Before Chigiri could turn to walk away, Isagi grabbed his arm. “W-wait! When is this matchup exactly…?” 

Chigiri’s head tilted to the side, “Oh I don’t know, I think Anri said they were planning for it to be…this weekend?”

This weekend…in 3 days…I can see him in 3 days…

“Thank’s Chigiri!” He ran past him then. 

“Hey, where are you off to now?” Chigiri called after him. 

“To train!” Isagi answered. He wanted to be at his best for this. It was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up even for a moment. He also didn’t want to disappoint Bachira somehow, his blood thrummed with an excitement that usually came when he was going up against someone more talented than him on the field. 

He was going to see Bachira in 3 days, and he was going to make sure he was the best he’d ever been for him. 

3 days…it chorused through his mind as he headed for the training room.

♧ he doesn't like to make the first move because of his fear of rejection. getting bullied a lot and growing up mostly without friends does something to you.

♧ very aggressive and exaggerated arm swinging when him and his partner are walking around outside. it's cute and makes him all giggly, until they hit someone 💀💀 and if that someone is behind them and is rude, he'd tell them off, saying something about how they should have seen the both of them, how they swung their arms, and how it's not really their fault. but if they aren't rude, he's the first to apologize.

182 Days of TPN - Day 139

Chapter 139: "Demon Search, Part 2"

Yo demons can be so rude. Norman's extermination plan is extreme and while I think it should only target the aristocrats and those in charge of any farms instead of drag down innocent lives down as well, these select few randos can bite the dust too simply because they're making fun of one of the kindest demons this series has to offer.

I know this world runs differently and the demons only see us as food, so this scene is essentially like us watching fish or something on a conveyor belt being tossed out, but it's still a hard scene to witness as these are literal babies.

His panic over stealing from the farm is actually kinda cute and I love how quickly his intentions changed, even from him switching from saying "it" to "her." He could've very well just had her for dinner, possibly improving the state of his face (since eating other humans haven't really worked in the past so who knows if she would've helped or not), yet he decides to treat her as family instead because of the empathy he feels simply because both their faces are a little messed up.

Someone please help this precious demon, he's trying his absolute hardest to figure out how to raise a human child and it's adorable! It means everything that he's raising her as his own daughter and not as food like the plantation mothers/sisters are forced to do. I wish he has an official name though aside from us just referring to him as Ayshe's dad because he's just so special and I love him. He's tied with Lucas & Alex as one of the best parents in the series and I'll go as far to say he's my second favorite out of the whole roster. (no need to ask about number one when it's obvious.)

I don't have any strong opinions on Zazie, like he's okay, I don't necessarily like or dislike him a great amount, but I gotta say that killing this amazing dad ain't gonna reward him with brownie points.

A moment of relief for me that this scene wasn't animated because I'm sure it would've made me tear up. Poor guy didn't deserve this.

Of course, by extension, this means that Ayshe didn't need to suffer this unfortunate loss either. This whole event sorta parallels the shelter raid, to the point where Andrew & his men invaded the escapee's home & ended up killing Yuugo & Lucas. Only difference is the children managed to escape their pursuer while Ayshe was basically captured by hers. We learn later on that Norman was already knowledgeable with the demon language at this point, so it's pretty bold of him to bring this traumatized girl back with him to paradise knowing fully well that she's hellbent on ending their lives.

I'm.. starting to remember why Norman is my least favorite of the fullscore trio and unfortunately it's partly due to all the pain he caused Ayshe to experience. Granted, her father's death was a direct result of Zazie's attacks, but it goes without saying that the kid was acting on Norman's orders. Sorry not sorry but I don't do well with people who make my favorites suffer, just look at all the dislike I have towards the demon god (the effects the reward had on Emma), Andrew (killing bunker dads & the injuries inflicted on Dominic & Chris), the GF demon (taking my queen's life), and Peter (he's a Ratri, there's literally so much I could list here). Norman isn't as bad as the rest of them, but eh, I can't find it in myself to adore him as much as Ray or Emma.

It's smart of her to remain quiet though. She can't risk acting out, whether it be on her desires or just being rebellious, since she's seen first hand how powerful the Lambda crew is.

Not really relevant to these panels but it's what made me think of this.. I wish we got to see Ayshe and Emma interact more. Or at all, actually. Ayshe learning that someone like our best girl actually cares this much for demons must have been such a relief to hear. I get that Ayshe kept quiet around the Lambda crew because of the stuff regarding her father, but she couldn't really bond with the other paradise hideout kids either since they all have opposing opinions about demons than she does.

HELP she is so darn adorable!! I would've been fine if Ayshe remained this cool assassin throughout the whole story because I really do love those cold, silent characters but being able to see her have a little silly side is such a pleasant surprise.

Just because Ayshe is now an ally doesn't mean that the idea of assassins magically goes away! That's still a concern!

Favorite panel/moment:

I pretty much adore every moment of the flashbacks between Ayshe and her dad, even the tiny moments we get in this panel are super cute. Norman wondered in ch127 if it was possible to refrain eating your favorite food if it asked you, so let me tell him that this tiny, happy family is living proof of that! Aaahh, they deserved so much better! (ALSO, the lights on the small table behind them are identical to the ones Ray & Mujika used back in ch45, so it's cool that all kinds of demons use those plants the same way.)

Ayshe has many lovable panels as well, but the tiny one here has a special place in my heart for some reason.

Fire Emblem Engage 21 - 23

Spoilers for FE Engage beneath the cut. This game doesn't have the deepest cast, but all of them are pretty enjoyable and there's less that are just a single gimmick like in the old days.

Let me guess who the boss is for Ch 21. Some of the hounds?

Sombron trying to revive Atlantis is certainly a new villain motivation. Oh, now we're back to the typical stuff. He wants to invade other worlds also.

So I don't think we get Marni as a unit, but pretty sure we get Mauvier. And now sobstory incoming for Marni. She dead.

I really hope Griss doesn't get a last second sob story. I want him to just be an unhinged psychopath.

And, like, I buy Mauvier's behavior because we had a lead up to it. But Marni's been nothing but an unrepentant killer. Having a hard time caring at all about any of this. I want Alfred, Ivy, and the other rulers back.

I'm trying also to take this seriously that everyone here is chit-chatting instead of trying to kill each other lamo. Like, bitch!Veyle has tortured Marth and we're just watching her. (and Zephia and Griss).

Aw, man, I thought we were going to get Marth back :(

Alear's getting a Disney Death I see. Poor Alfred's so stressed. And Veyle, but I can't bring myself to care about her yet.

Are we losing the rings again? Aw, come on. 😭 Alear, you fucked up. I'm amazed Sombron didn't just wipe out Alear and co tbh. This is a bigger L than ch 10. At least Veyle is actually planning on killing all the heroes bc it's about time someone tried to actually kill each other in a cut scene.

Is this when Deus ex machina steps in? Because we lost the rings. Alear's dead. Veyle's evil again. And she's about to murder everyone else.

Oh, that's actually kinda cool. Alear's coming back as a corrupted. So not Deus ex machina. Since this was already established (Deus ex machina incoming to revert Alear back to human from a zombie).

Zombie!Alear didn't last long. Good voice acting though. It's obvious she'll come back. Which, that means she had two deaths in back-to-back chapters. Impressive? Is this the "miracle" thingy the emblems talked about once? Lamo. This plot. I swear. Ah, and the mom's ring.

But, hey, gotta say it's nice there's real consequences for what she does.

Alear's the Fire Emblem. This is both ridiculously cheesy but also kinda awesome. I wasn't even looking for the "Fire Emblem," but I never would've guessed it was the MC lamo. All the past lords are simping. Do I get Alear as a ring though? Can I give it to Alfred?

The goofy hair is still here!! Yessss.

Alfred and Veyle's C support was hilarious. Mostly because of Alfred. Also, don't give him spicy food lol.

After some suggestions, I put Lyn on Alcryst and lamo. Alcryst + Brave Bow + Alacrity is just disgusting.

The hottest man in this game is Sigurd. This is an unarguable fact.

Ok, but can you imagine your parents tell you that you have no choice, you must be X's retainer. And you expect some boring, stuffy, stuck-up noble - but instead - it's Alfred. 😅 I've seen people describe him as a "human golden retriever" and honestly, they're not wrong.

Ok, guys, I'm about to S-Support Alfred. The ring said it's your "trusted partner," so it might not be explicitly romantic, but as long as it's good, it'll stay my #1 ship in this game.

OMG, that was really cute. 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Alfred essentially says he wants to be more than friends and gives Alear an embroidery piece that's basically a Firene royal engagement rite. Alear says she's felt that way about him since she first saw him. She puts the ring on his finger, and he straight up says "I love you." Shit's pretty explicit and furthers my "devs wanted you to pick Alfred" propaganda. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

So do the two hounds finally die?

Kinda annoyed Veyle replaced the royals, ngl. She's probably the only character I dislike, meanwhile Ivy and Alfred are my two favorites and Diamant and Timerra are both solid.

So the Hounds ARE finally dying. Finally. But why is Zephia helping us? Telling us about other shards? Also, why is Madonna/whore complex the character talking more than Alear now?

This last minute throw at sympathy for these two is wasted. Like, they were one-note evil before this, lamo. Even the game is like "this makes no sense, please ignore it" with Zephia's dialogue. I'd rather hear Amber talk more about alpacas.

Lamo, Alfred is surrounded by lava and he's like "look, a flower, isn't that amazing!" I love him.

More time wasted on the 2 hounds, though Griss faking dead so he can enjoy the pain is on point. Not even Timerra got this much dialogue.

He will absolutely kick your ass though so you best behave. He started working out just to be able to kick ass better.

So I'm pretty bad at coming up with stuff off the top of my head so please do feel free to ask if you have anything specific you want to know about him.

He's a really good dancer.

He started a band that he called For Profit Orphan Farm, because that's what he calls the orphanage. He also sometimes calls Bailey a for profit orphan farmer. On the topic of Bailey, He also has a drawing he made of Bailey he made pinned to a dart board. Throws darts at it.

He and Bailey have kind of a weird complicated relationship that's only gotten more weird and complicated over the years. It started off as entirely adversarial at first, Mikie hated Bailey's guts. Then eventually he figured that considering how much power and influence Bailey has, it would be in his best interest to get on his good side. So he decided he'd work to gain Bailey's trust then when he had it he'd betray him and take over. He didn't really change his additude but he did work to make it obvious he was an invaluable asset. Bailey ended up having to rescue him a few times and each time he'd give him a chunk of extra money in his weekly orphan fee. After all money is the only thing Bailey gives a shit about. They're not "friendly", Mikie even acts openly antagonistic and insulting towards him sometimes but it's almost joking? They almost sort of have something of a banter going? He plays pranks on him sometimes. Mikie would never admit it to anyone or even himself, but he sort of wants to impress Bailey, prove he's more than just another orphan. It's impossible to know what he truly feels for Bailey, even less so what Bailey feels for Mikie.

Mikie hasn't actually been in the orphanage since he was a child, instead he came to the orphanage in his mid teens after his parents lost custody. At that time he was a total loner with a bad additude but Robin really brought him out of his shell. Robin was his first friend at the orphanage, perseverating to try to be his friend even on those first days when Mikie kept telling him he was annoying and to scram. Mikie doesn't talk about his parents, he actually doesn't remember them or his childhood before the orphanage much aside from vague feelings and snippets. And he doesn't really care to, he's perfectly content to act like his time before the orphanage doesn't exist at all.

He's a delinquent that likes to cause trouble in school. Essentially harmless stuff. Well other than pepper spraying people. But to be fair those people were Whitney and his pack of friends. Mikie maintains that if you don't start none there won't be none, and it's not his fault Whitney keeps running back over and over again to get his ass kicked. He also intervenes when he sees students getting bullied and is generally kind of scrappy and rarely runs from a fight. So he's in fights a lot. Which means he's in detention a lot. You'd think his obvious status as a delinquent would mean he's probably getting shit grades but he's actually doing surprisingly well, like he actually gets good grades. He's the worst at math, unsurprisingly. River likes him since he volunteers at the soup kitchen occasionally. River thought he was another rude asshole kid at first but Mikies always been earnest and worked hard and proved himself to be ultimately a kind person even if he's a bit rough around the edges. So River bumps up his grade even though he really shouldn't.

He doesn't really know how to draw, he's not a good artist.

He's kinda in a thruple with Kylar and Sydney. (Well technically Mikie is seeing like a bunch of different men but Ky and Sydney are the only ones he thinks of as his actual boyfriends he actually loves.) Which was a whole goddamn mess to set up and frankly is still more or less a goddamn mess. They're kind of competitive and snippy to eachother. Ky is more openly antagonistic and Syd is just sarcastic and teasing. And while Mikie does think it's kind of very super hot when boys fight over him (he feels really guilty for this) he does genuinely care deeply for both of them and wants them to get along. He also tries to get Ky and Robin to hang out. Mikie worries about Ky, thinks he could really use a friend. Though it's probably kinda dumb to keep trying to get Kylar to get along with people Mikies been inside of but oh well Mikies never had very good judgement when it comes to relationships.

this is by no means trying to be a rant post but i just needed a different perspective on this issue so to speak. i got into an “argument” (one sided tbh LOL) with an ashleon shipper (which…. is whatever… ig…) and they were saying that ashleon is canon in re4 remake and i was like how ???? they were completely mischaracterizing aeon too. so im just really confused bc before i became a hardcore re fan and was an outsider so to speak, i just assumed that leon and ada were an “item” bc thats how they have always been portrayed. and then i go on here and retwt (eww) and ppl do not think that AT ALL. ppl think ur crazy for thinking aeon is a canon thing. i just feel like im missing a puzzle piece all the time bc its like … i thought it was pretty obvious? and its so hard to hear the other side on these conversations bc they are so rude and judgmental and dont want to have a civil conversation and hear the other side. so i just wanted to get ur perspective on this issue and why ppl might not automatically think aeon is a thing bc i really like ur takes on aeon as a whole! this also isnt trying to be negative or a shitpost, i just want to hear a different positive and ig “constructive” perspective on this!

yeah i dunno tbh, there's a few very loud ashleon shippers that are claiming that it's canon but i don't know what kind of like cognitive dissonance you gotta be suffering from to think it's canon. i half the time think they're doing it to purposely piss off other shippers so i just don't engage with them lmao

i think that out of all the ships in re, other than like ethan and mia- aeon was the only other one pushed to be canon. i'd argue that chris and jill are barely even romantic (even though i don't care for the ship, i know lots of people ship valenfield) (im more of a clairejill or jill carlos fan meself) (reminder again ship whoEVER YOU WANT IDGAF SKDFBSK)

typically when it comes to promos and stuff, aeon tends to be pushed together though (like from capcom) so that's always been kinda cute and nice. (i love seeing all the teppen art of aeon, and random capcom promos of aeon together)

i just feel like because the ship is "not conventional" it gets a lot of backlash, particularly because the female character doesn't adhere to social norms and gender roles. and typically because aeon falls into this category, people are quick to tear down ada because of it

it's just the same shit lol. i just choose not to engage with it cause i got better shit to do with my time

The Western Air Temple Re-watch

This section of Book 3 is possibly my favorite section of the show because we get to see Zuko as a good guy interacting with the Gaang, which sparks so much joy for me. I'm just gonna be bitter about just one thing really quick - the reason Smellberee & Longshot (some of the most interesting side characters the Gaang has interacted with) aren't there is 100% because if they were the show would have no choice but to acknowledge Jet's death. So like, fuck the writers for that one. Ok, (most of) the rest of what I have to say is positive actually!

I'm gonna say that Aang's determination to distract himself & go play with the other kids is TOTALLY understandable & it makes so much sense with his trauma around trying to learn fire-bending & the pressure he's under - he's still just a kid, of course, he's gonna wanna run & play - BUT it still gets on my nerves, personally. Just because like...Ugh, Katara ALWAYS has to be the responsible one pushing Aang to do what's right & it's really not fair to her.

Zuko's redemption arc & decision to join the Gaang continues to be impressive & it absolutely deserves to be held up as a strong example of a redemption arc & just a beautifully well-written character arc. I already made a separate post about how emo I am about Zuko in this episode but like.....I fucking love Zuko ok, he is just very special to me.

I thought that Zuko rehearsing his little speech to join the Gaang to a frog was so adorable & he says he's not good at impersonations but you know, I think he's pretty decent at them. Also, it's cute that he still says "what would Azula do?" to himself here. Even though they're enemies again, I think he still admires his sister a lot (& definitely continues to put her on an unrealistic pedestal of untouchable perfection, but that's its own rabbit hole, right now we're just talking about a cute funny moment.)

Yeah, tbh, my next couple of re-watch posts are.... probably mostly just going to be me gushing about how much I love Zuko, okay lol

Toph getting her feet burned was pretty sad, but I don't think either Toph or Zuko was to blame here, it was just a well-written misunderstanding/interaction, & Toph was still honest with the Gaang that it was an accident even though she had to drag herself back to camp which - oof. I loved how fast Toph was to advocate for Zuko. I think that this has to do with her not being around when he was the Big Bad but I think it's more than that. I feel like Toph is a very pragmatic & realistic character. She knows that Zuko is being honest, she knows that Aang needs a fire-bending teacher. To her, it's obvious what the solution is regardless of past hurt.

Sokka just cracked me up in this episode & his awkward interactions with Zuko were funny. Zukka rights I suppose.

Katara's scene with Zuko at the end was SO good. Katara does not fuck around at all, & her continued mistrust of Zuko is obviously 100% understandable. I also love that for Katara, this is very personal. She trusted Zuko & he betrayed HER. This isn't just about being military enemies, Katara feels personally wronged by Zuko - & she has every right to. I just loved that scene between them. And... if I was ever going to say Zutara rights, this little era of the show is when I'd say it. It's one of those "ok it's still not my thing but I get y'all" things lol - like ok, the tension of betrayal & hesitance about the new trust thing is kinda fun. For me personally, it's just as fun as the tension between 2 platonic (soon-to-be) friends though.

Anyway, this was a delightful episode & I'm very excited Zuko is now part of the Gaang - even if he has a ways to go to gain their trust! Excellent episode 10/10.

Oh, I almost forgot about iconic behavior points. Zuko gets +100 for his little impressions. Toph gets +100 for crawling on her goddamn hands back to camp & STILL advocating for Zuko. Zuko gets another +500 for helping defeat the assassin that he hired, I thought that made a lot of narrative sense & was the perfect dramatic way for him to prove himself. Katara gets +500 for her speech to Zuko at the end.
