me psychoanalyzing sanji x male reader some moreeee
-> i'm actually sanji's #1 lover, especially after re-reading wci i'm so deeply EMPATHETIC WITH THIS MAN and i fear his content will consume my entire blog.
warning : sanji is really insecure and has rlly low self esteem sorry
sanji probably gets jealous very easily. like...concerningly very easily and each time he feels himself getting jealous it's literally borderline insane. it practically drives him to insanity.
oh my god this + his history with how fliratious he was with others, it drives him up a wall. he realizes quickly that his past actions on how he treated others before he got into a LOYAL relationship with you haunts him to this day.
everytime he sees you interact with anyone, man or women (for some reason, his jealousy is driven up even higher when it's a woman, though), he feels like he wants to take you into his arms and stake a very obvious claim on you as his and him as yours. it's a seemingly very childish thing, but to him, it's the most serious situation in the world. he doesn't want you looking at other women, he doesn't want you looking at other men - he wants to feel like he is enough for you and the best way you can do that is by giving all your attention to him.
and his jealousy only grows the more and more your attention isn't on him.
then the envy starts bleeding into guilt and overthinking. because to him: you're his one and only, there's never going to be anyone else after you - and if there was anyone else before you, well, they're nothing in his mind anymore. you are his entire being. it's like you're the sun and he's every other planet - his life and worth all revolve around you. all of his thoughts, from the moment he wakes up to when he sleeps, are just you. you're his everything.
when he starts seeing you talk to anyone else but him, it makes him overthink all of his past actions that led him up to this point. are you finally going to leave him? did you find someone better? is his past as a womanizer going to make you realize you don't want to be with him anymore?
then he goes through a phase where he dotes on you especially hard. he repeatedly tells you every single second of every single day, he loves no one but you and that he loves you with his entire being. it's concerning, to hear him so devotedly speak about his love for you as if he is going to disappear the next second. but he's only speaking like this because he thinks that ^ is going to happen, but it being you instead of him that disappears.
he fears that everyday he wakes up, you're not going to be beside him. you'd wake up in the middle of the night and realize you deserve better (because you do, in his mind, you deserve much better than him) and you're gonna leave him and the crew. and there's going to be no way they can find you because they are drifting on the ocean and just like that, you're going to be gone forever.
so yes, sanji does have a jealousy problem, but it's so much more than that. it stems deep, deep, deep down to his own self-esteem and his guilt on his past behavior. please be nice to him or his mental might completely crumble at the thought of you thinking he's just some sort of womanizer and lovesick fool.
he just needs constant reassurance and convincing that you're going to stay with him and a lot of affection and he might, maybe, maybe, just be okay. he just really needs you to be there for him.

I love Ao3 donation season because it truly brings out the most unhinged people.
Suddenly, these people whose blogs revolved only around fandom and memes turn into the most vocal activists, the most involved protesters. There's not a single cause they don't root for, there's not a GoFundMe they don't advertise.
Oh, you think you can donate 10 dollars to a site that provides you with hours of free entertainment and doesn't ask you to sell your soul through data mining? Well, then you should kill yourself and go to hell, because look at these *insert request of money from someone you've never heard of before, isn't part of your online social group, and you share nothing with* causes need it more!!!
I'm far more likely to donate to my mutuals/people I follow/causes I care about than random people (especially when the request comes from Tumblr users, the same breed that gave us people pretending to have AIDS and of being attacked in a mall bathroom for shipping the wrong ship).
But how dare we enjoy life when JonBenet Ramsey's killer is still on the loose, am I right?
--
Yuuup.
And half the time, the gofundmes they link to are dodgy as fuck. I don't reblog e-begging almost ever. I barely post about organizations fundraising, aside from OTW and maybe the Internet Archive once in a blue moon. Very occasionally, I'll find someone's "I'm a disabled, trans POC" post compelling enough that I'll donate myself, but I'm still not posting it here.
Mostly, I don't post such things because if I did, I'd never stop getting pestered to post more. But a lot of it is that many, many, many of them smell of bad money management of the "Oopsie, I spent all my money going to a con and buying merch! Now rent is due!" or "I adopted 57 disabled pets I don't have the means to care for!" (Yes, I have known many fans of both types. And all of them needed to beg again a month later.) I don't doubt that something is wrong in their life, but I just don't think it's money well spent. I'd rather donate to an organization or, on rare occasions, somebody I'm pretty sure is telling the truth about being from a poor-ass country where my few bucks might actually make an impact. That's not the majority of posts that I see.

i don't post a ton about izzy hands bcs, being real, i just don't care that much about him, and frankly, i find the obsessive fixation on him both predictable and annoying.
but it's my blog and i have thoughts that, because of the person that i am, are going to be expressed in the form of a character breakdown. i promise it is as discourse-free as i could possibly make it, but obviously if you don't want to read my examination of izzy hands' motivations as a character then...don't.
i feel like there's a very widespread misapprehension of said character and motivations, and indeed it's a misapprehension that i predicted way last year, and one that helps contribute to a wealth of repetitive arguments and discourse about the character that i am assiduously attempting to avoid in this post. (i am not, btw, proposing any sort of "solution" here; people can argue about whatever they want.)
in short, there's a tendency in meta and fic to take a singular aspect of subtext (izzy is into blackbeard) and center it as the character's primary (and often sole) motivation. and then, to work from there to recontextualize and reimagine and reinvent everything around that assumption.
but the show and the character straight up stop making sense when you do that. because izzy's primary motivation is categorically not desire for blackbeard.
his primary motivation, textually, is that he wants to be captain.
if i was at work and breaking down his GMC as an antagonist in s1 it would be:
g(oal): get rid of stede so that ed can retire
m(otivation): become captain
c(onflict): he is continually prevented from getting rid of stede, primarily by ed
and as happens in well-constructed narratives everything he does for most of the season revolves around this gmc.
to slide into the character section: izzy is, fundamentally, both hungry for power and bad at actually wielding power. izzy cares, more than anything, about his job and being at the top of the field in that job.
in 1x04, he tells ed to his face that he thinks ed's a washed up has-been who izzy has only continued to work for because of the clout that comes with working for the legendary blackbeard. this is because, as we've seen him mention to fang and ivan, he reads ed's increasing disinterest in and boredom with his job, and potentially the attendant depression, as ed having gone "half-insane" and no longer living up to that ideal. izzy later takes this back when ed has once again proven himself capable of pulling off a typical blackbeard miracle, of being the master of the work that izzy venerates. and then ed dangles izzy's heart's desire before him. if ed can retire, then izzy no longer has to suffice with being second-in-command to the biggest, baddest pirate. he can have the mantle passed to him. he can be the master of the work.
but of course, necessary to this plan, as ed presents it, is that stede must die.
and that's what izzy spends the rest of the season trying to accomplish.
to suppose that izzy is primarily acting against stede out of jealousy over thwarted romantic hopes, as the point of a love triangle trying to get rid of his rival, as someone who is desperately trying to have ed's attention redirected at him, is to suppose that he is actively seeking an end-state directly in opposition to his own goals.
because if stede dies, things don't return to the status quo, izzy doesn't get ed "back" to continue alongside him in perpetuity, and he certainly doesn't get the affection and adoration that ed has never before demonstrated towards anyone (nor do i think he even wants it, but that's a whole other analysis). the terms as they were laid out and as izzy continuously pushes ed to fulfill are that stede dies, ed goes away forever, and izzy gets a boat and a captaincy. that is what izzy explicitly wants.
and yes, as ed falls in love with stede, izzy is disgusted by what he sees as ed being corrupted by someone beneath him, turned into some "thing" that deserves to be put down. and yes, he wants to avoid the legendary blackbeard being brought low, be it by stede bonnet's influence or an english ambush. and, yes, repressed gay jealousy is definitely an aspect of izzy's overall dislike of stede, in particular.
but these things are secondary and tertiary, respectively, to izzy's immediate motivations and goals.
he stays in 1x04 because ed offers him a captaincy. he pushes ed to kill stede in 1x06 because it's the plan that will lead to him being captain. he narks to the english because they will give him a boat and a captaincy for it (plus he swore to make ed regret not following through with the original plan that would give him a boat and a captaincy). and he's happy as a clam in 1x09, even though stede isn't actually dead and ed has undermined the legend of blackbeard by signing the act of grace, because his primary goal has been fulfilled. izzy is now captain of his own boat.
and in 1x10 the sole alteration in izzy's motivation all season occurs. he realized his power-hungry dreams, but his regrettable incapacity at wielding power comes back to bite him. after he's mutinied in short order, and his life is saved solely by ed's presence and authority, he's left with limited choices (within the scope of his characterization).
he can leave and go it alone; attempt to climb the ranks again elsewhere, and eventually perhaps meet that same end he just narrowly avoided.
or he can try to go back to how things were before, try to once again achieve the highest strata he ever had: right-hand man to the legendary blackbeard. secure in the knowledge that not only is this a top position in the field, but that, barring all else, blackbeard's power and authority are sufficient to keep him safe from the machinations of the crew.
but of course, in izzy's mind, for all that to happen blackbeard has to actually be blackbeard. and well we need not rehash his opinions on that.
so yeah, gay jealousy over ed? definitely a thing izzy feels, imo, if deeply repressed.
but is it his actual motivation for almost anything he does throughout the season? demonstrably not, or else he would've made some very different decisions.
anyway this is all basically just a rehash of this conversation, but i was noodling on it so.

Hello there! I just recently came across your blog, and really love your Naruto art! Especially your Sakura content. You give her the justice that she should have gotten in the canon material. Short haired Saku for the win!
However, I’m curious. What are your feelings on Hinata? I like her, but also find that I unfortunately have some bitterness towards her. Not because of the character herself (though she has her issues, and I fully believe she deserved better too), but because of her fandom and how the fanbase holds her to such high regard. She suffers from the same problems as Sakura, dare I say even worse, but people will find any excuse in the point to justify her actions and lift her up. Though I will say that most of the blame lies with SP and their very creepy fetishization of her- who mind you, was a minor for most of the series. It’s like if you even have the slightest criticism of her, your attack for it. But I don’t know. I hope you have a good day!
Hi there!
Thank you so much! I love my girliepop Sakura, she deserves feral rat rights
Hinata? Yeah I have quite a few feelings about her. Namely the feeling of "I like you and I wish you got more"
Hinata is depressingly the only girl from the Konoha 11 to have been given a story and setting that wasn't about boys. Heiress to one of Konoha's major clans but was kicked out in favour of her younger sister? A clan that's fundamentally shitty and they went into depth showing how shitty it is to its own members? There's a LOT that could have been done here.
But unfortunately this was all forgotten about and replaced with her whole existence revolving around Naruto and it's a darn shame.
I don't feel bitterness towards her or anything, just sadness. Grieving what could have been.
I couldn't tell you for certain why Hinata was favoured over Sakura, despite the two being so similar. Hinata's design is very appealing to some, and people seem to be drawn to shy cute girls (I see you, Fluttershy stans). Why I don't know. But it is frustrating as a Sakura stan to see your fav being criticized while Hinata gets praised for the same thing.
Naruto, the series, was just uninterested in them as characters. Naruto is a fantasy, a character for young teenage boys to project themselves on to. Hinata was made to be appealing to the teenage boy demographic. A pretty shy girl who's completely and utterly devoted to you is pure ambrosia. Sakura wasn't made to fit into that fantasy. She's much more like a real woman in that regard, at least to those who project themselves on to Naruto. And a real woman can't be the perfect little wife in your perfect little fantasy world. That's my personal theory anyway.
All that being said, I do genuinely like Hinata. I think she's wasted and done dirty, but even I have fallen for her core appeal. How much I like her makes me sad that she'll never be treated as a character, she will only ever be a reward.

Brands Using the Term "Landmine" are Still Promoting the Stereotype, Unfortunately
There is one particular take I've grappled with since I first started this blog: "Brands would never promote something harmful, because _". This is often used as a way to say that the term isn't actually that bad, because look, brands use it!
Well, Travas Tokyo, which has become a hot brand among self-proclaimed landmines, has fully leaned into this new popularity like never before, as they are currently promoting a quiz for "diagnosing" customers with their "landmine type".
Tumblr media
You might, at first, read this and think: "Oh so it's just a quiz for assigning styles, right? They're just misusing the term again to mean clothes, right?"
Well. Not exactly.
Now, to say Travas Tokyo is the first to openly promote something involving the stereotype would be an understatement, as other brands and companies, including Larme, have used the stereotype before as a selling point.
So, to find out if that was happening here, I responded to the post to get the questions.
Here are the questions I received, and their responses.
Question 1:
Tumblr media
Your significant other is talking to someone of the opposite sex besides you. What do you do?
• I don't mind if they talk to someone else. • Hey, hey, why are they talking to some worm who isn't me... • I'll have to lock them up so those worms stay away...
Tumblr media
Question 2:
Tumblr media
Your significant other hasn't replied to you on LINE... What do you do?
• Do nothing about it. • Relentlessly spam them with messages and calls. • Contact your SO's friends
Tumblr media
Question 3:
Tumblr media
Oh no, the person you love more than anyone else has rejected you. What do you do?
• Honorably move onto the next love. • I'll keep pursuing them by stalking them over the internet. • Only a few more times until they become my slave...
And... Here were my results!
Tumblr media
Landmine-Type Girl Diagnosis Results
You're a Super-Slight Class C Landmine Girl! ♡
You're a little mischievous and are just setting foot into the landmine-type. Here is a landmine coordinate that suits you.
Tumblr media
Now, the link to the coordinate wouldn't load for me, so I guess I will never know what coordinate suits my "landmine type".
It should also be mentioned that the result I got here is the most mild response you can get, as you're able to re-answer as much as you'd like to see the other responses. So I did that, and here's the other two results.
Tumblr media
Landmine-Type Girl Diagnosis Results
You're a Moderate Class B+ Landmine Girl! ♡
You're someone who holds deep passion for the one you love, and can't stop thinking about them. Here is a landmine coordinate that suits you.
Tumblr media
Landmine-Type Girl Diagnosis Results
You're a Super-Serious Class S Landmine Girl! ♡
You would give yourself for the one you love. Here is a landmine coordinate that suits you.
Tumblr media
Now is a good time to remember that brands like Travas are catering to an audience of mostly teens, which makes things like this a bit unnerving. Especially since the post advertising the quiz makes it seem like it's a lighthearted quiz about fashion, when the questions are obviously about being a toxic "type" of person. It's a Buzzfeed-level quality quiz for issues that are much more serious.
To put it into perspective, imagine if a brand with a large teenage audience in the west did something like this. Like if Hot Topic suddenly promoted some quiz with these same questions, and then at the end you got redirected to a discount outfit page based on your answers. There would definitely be discussion about the ethics of that at the very least, if not massive outcry, considering the questions revolve around hypothetical scenarios for which "would you abuse or not abuse" are the answers leading to a clothing recommendation.
But it really is just how it is with any other part of the world: brands are not your friend. They do not care about anybody's well-being, they care about sales. And if the way to sell clothes is by advertising a harmful stereotype that teens are raving about in a quirky way, they will absolutely do that.

Rambling some more about that one Kai au I've been thinking about lately
First of all, I'm thinking about calling this the "Scorched Au" since it sounds cool and also as a reference to the term "Scorched Earth" since that describes Kai very well in this au
So one part of the au is that the others all think Kai is dead because how could he have survived the volcano erupting? And again, Kai didn't unlock his true potential so they never saw him safely fly out of the volcano afterwards. Kai also lays low for a while. He takes some inspiration from Nya when she became Samurai X and decides to hide his identity, so even if the ninja run into him they don't recognize him at first.
Kai still uses the sword of fire but he also uses the fangblade that he's continued holding onto since managing to grab it before it fell in the lava. And he obviously still has his spinjitzu and normal hand-to-hand combat skills. He sort of goes around doing "vigilante justice" when in reality he's just sort of beating up anyone who gets in his way.
One other idea I thought of is Kai messing around with dark magic. One thing that he focuses a lot on is what more he needs to do to unlock his true potential, and his main belief is simply that he isn't strong enough. So he ends up teaching himself dark magic with a spell book he stole from some library or something like that (I haven't fully decided yet) And it's through the dark magic that he learns to "control fire" though it's not the same as if he were using his elemental powers. He basically learns a bunch of fire spells to make up for the fact that he hasn't unlocked his true potential. This also manages to fool the others into thinking Kai DID unlock his true potential even though it's just dark magic.
I also haven't thought of a name for Kai when he's going undercover since he should probably have one. I know I could just go with "Red Shogun" since that's already a name he's given himself, but idk I feel like that name doesn't really fit the design I've been working on. The design is more of a rogue type thing. I thought of something like the Scorched Shinobi since shinobi is just another word for ninja and it also fits with the au name but idk if I've fully settled on that just yet (though I am becoming fond of it)
And one more thing that I almost forgot to mention is Nya since she's pretty important to this au. So obviously Kai is pretty mad at the other ninja, but the only person he doesn't actively attack or threaten is Nya since despite everything that happened, she's still his little sister. And one other idea I had revolving around Nya is that since Kai ran off to go be evil, Master Wu decides that it's probably best to tell Nya about her water powers now and train her in them instead of waiting until season 5 to do so. Idk that just made sense to me and it might also cause Kai to spiral a bit more because he already had to deal with the fact that Nya doesn't need him anymore because of the whole Samurai X stuff. But now finding out that she has elemental powers as well would not help with his whole situation of feeling like the team never needed him and that he wasn't worthy. Idk I feel like I'm just spit balling at this point now
But anyway, this was sort of just aimless ramblings from me. Even if this doesn't become a main-stay au for my blog, I still wanna write my ideas somewhere for people to read.

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii i went missing for another few decades again 💕💕💕💕🥰🥰😘💘🤟💘🥰❤️‍🔥🤟🤟❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥💕❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥i'm so sleepy yall got no idea.
im hall, a filipino nursing student with the humor of someone who should not be in healthcare. you will only see me biannually unless god decides to love me. i write original works, all of which are 3 paragraphs from a hipaa violation. my search history will put me on death row one day. i write about everything, jam-packing my works with lethal doses of found family, 2000 ccs of trauma, fantastic homosexuality, the occasional god complex, and the arduous process of semi-legal adoption. i've been told that most of my tales revolve around grief and the concept of a beating heart being a good enough reason to keep living.
so where the hell are my books?
you might wanna come back in 30 years for that, bestie. i got a bunch of stories im working on alongside @canadjester, my best bud. here's some of our faves:
End With One (Never Zero) / Novel
The day after the sun fucking deletes itself from the universe, terminal insomniac Sage gets kidnapped by aggressively delusional twelve-year-old Sasha and the ragtag group of preteen social rejects that she brainwashed into believing she's the messiah. The reason for his kidnapping? He's an NPC—and she needs cannon fodder. The journey to becoming the Ultimate God is a savage one, and she isn't about to sacrifice one of her loyal slaves to ensure her plot armor is kept intact. So, she forces him to die for her. He does. Many, many times.
In God's Image / Visual Novel
Greasy boy Rui finds out he's god and is promptly told to go find "some answers." His best friend, the sole reason why he is not dead yet, says that he didn't find out jack shit. He was scammed, she says, by a cannibal or incest apologist or whatever else decided to exist before the poisoned water supply and mutants drive them all to extinction. Best to forget about it, she says. Don't even try going to Death Ocean Incredibly Lethal Do Not Go Here It Kills Everything Turn Back for "some answers," she says. You'd be stupid stupid dumb dumb idiot moron if you did that, Rui. You aren't stupid stupid dumb dumb idiot moron, are you? In his defense, Rui is addicted to adrenaline and very, very bored.
To Rise a Fallen Angel / (Self-Indulgent) Trilogy
Princess Avyalva Dembrose and her twin brother Avoristell have been left tragically unsacrificed after the Guardian Angel spontaneously Fucking Dies. Source of Kingdom Etheria's protection from complete and utter bullshit now eviscerated and reality threatening to become one giant gutter, Avyalva turns to her favorite novels for guidance. Their answer? Found family. Find a legion of really... unique... clusterfucks. Unfortunately, none of the stories prepared her for the sheer amount of plot holes and twists real life has to offer. And how long it actually takes to get from Point A to Point B.
and that is all~~
this blog will mostly feature others' writing and, of course, my writing. expect very little discourse and posts outside of writing. let me know if you'd like for me to reblog any of your works!
note: a good chunk of the stories i have here are works that i was once writing alongside a friend, Marcy. due to certain circumstances, i became the one in charge of actually publishing the damn things, and now i own all her characters. i was recently informed that she had a writeblr before deleting her social media presence. let me know if any of the works are familiar to you! if you could tell me anything about what you know of them, i would be grateful :)

Masterlist | Next Chapter
Three weeks. That’s how long it's been since you’ve seen or heard from your sister. A few days, sometimes even over a week was normal. But three weeks? Not even at the height of your sister’s addiction had she gone three weeks with no contact. Even if most of the contact revolved around her asking for money to get her next fix under the guise of needing food or clothes. You always knew she used it for drugs. And you hated giving her the money and essentially enabling her, but you did it in the hopes that maybe just once she would actually buy the food or the clothes. She never did.
As much as you hated the path your sister had gone down, you couldn’t exactly blame her. The things you’d both been through – were fucking awful. Drugs were your sister’s way of coping. You’d managed better. You went to college, you got a degree, you started therapy. Of course you felt bad that while your sister had been barely surviving, if you could even really call it that, you were on the other end of the survival spectrum. Starting to really thrive.
You did what you could to help her, though. Countless times you let her crash in your home, fed her, found a way to get her into rehab. Each time it never lasted. Except this last time.
There was a visible difference in Christine. She had started to put on weight, life was returning to eyes, she was smiling again. This time you really thought she was going to make it. Until she disappeared. Your heart sank when that first week passed, because you were sure you knew what it meant. It wasn’t until the beginning of the third week that you really had started to worry. So much so that you wound up at the police station.
“Listen, sweetheart, we all know your sister and she’s probably just on a bender.” You were on the verge of tears, both out of worry for Christine and frustration at the officer’s defiance. Yes, your sister had a troubled past. But this wasn’t like her. She didn’t just disappear like this, at least not for this long.
“I don’t care what her past is, this isn’t like her! You have to do something, please.” The cry for help felt weak, because you were exhausted. Running on minimal sleep because you’d been up for hours trying to find her. Every time you called her phone it went straight to voicemail. Leading you to believe it was either dead or shut off. Stupidly you had gone to her old stomping grounds, a palace you didn’t want to be but you didn’t know what else to do or where else to look. Unfortunately it hadn’t led to her.
You knew it wasn’t going to be easy to convince the police something was really wrong with her. How many times had you picked her up from this exact jail after she got busted for possession or prostitution? Everyone who worked here knew your sister and ultimately knew you. And each time you walked through the doors you were met with looks of pity. Looks you had grown tired of getting, but by this point were numb to. You’d gotten them your whole life, so much that at this point you just stopped wondering if they would ever stop.
“Please…I just-I know something is wrong.” The female officer looked at you, again with pity, but she relented.
“Alright,” she sighed and pulled out some papers from a drawer. “Fill out a missing person’s report and we’ll go from there.” You let out a breath you hadn’t realized you’d been holding in. With everything you had in you, you hoped nothing was wrong, but that sinking feeling was getting deeper and deeper.
No matter what, you weren’t going to give up until you found your sister. Dead or alive.

Hi Amy, I really like your blog and love reading about your experience. But sometimes your experience sound more like vanilla than Ds. I am happy you have carrying husband who look after you, but do you think that in normal relationship husband don't care about his wife or remind her about medicine or her food choice or get angry when she didn't take care herself.
You may need to try normal relationships and you will find whatever you are writing everything are there. If in a normal sex they spank, pull hair and etc.
Even in normal relationship sometime male dominate and make most of decision. But we can't call it Ds.
I am sorry. I just like to read more Ds versions of your experience. Rough sex isn't Ds. Just carrying about each other isn't Ds.
If you don't use ropes, chains, collar and rules what's point. It's like going in theme party wearing pretty dress and come back and tell your friends, oh we went to those party we are fun. Common just write something that sound Ds or just re-evaluate your relationship.
Is it really there or it's just in your mind?
I'm not sure if you were trying to disguise yourself as kind to me, or if you were trying to trick yourself into believing that you weren't being nasty so you can sleep tonight? Either way, beginning your ask by complimenting me doesn't make the rest of it acceptable.
I'm choosing to ignore that and try to answer although after speaking to me this way you really don't deserve my time. I'm choosing to reply because one of my weak spots is, I hate being misunderstood.
There are (or at least used to be) plenty of tumblr D/s blogs that only share blatant D/s experiences - the really intense, rough stuff. I primarily follow other blogs who write about their ordinary D/s experiences, I'm annoyed by edgelord BDSM people so I don't know for sure, but I have to imagine you can find that content out there if that's what you want. You won't find it on my blog.
I made a decision pretty early on with this blog that I didn't want to only share the "obviously D/s-y" stuff. My goal was to show a whole relationship, not just the intense D/s parts.
Of course, my relationship is just one way of doing D/s. Part of my D/s style with my partner is, we like feeling like normal people for the most part. We like low protocol, especially with language. He asks me to do things, I ask him if he 'minds' if I do things - but I know when he makes requests when they are actual requests and when they're orders. He knows when I ask what he thinks on something, that I'm seeking permission. We feel the power exchange with ordinary language.
More than that, all D/s relationships have moments that don't look D/s. My personal view is that the blogs that choose to only share the intense BDSM stuff can sometimes paint a picture that D/s is supposed to be ALL about kink and power exchange. That their whole world revolves around cuffs, plugs and paddles. That isn't what makes up anyone's whole life, though.
So, yes, I share moments that aren't oozing with intense D/s. That's on purpose! No blog can ever share someone's whole life, it's always going to be edited or curated some. But I intentionally try to share some sexy moments, some funny moments, some sweet moments, some intense power exchange moments, and so on. I try to show that our 24/7 D/s is lots of things. Much of my D/s is subtle. I have never pretended to be into extreme BDSM or extreme D/s either one. "This is just how we love each other while living pretty ordinary lives." is literally part of my bio.
My view is that most terms related to kink or BDSM are largely made up. If you asked 100 people where D/s ends and vanilla begins, you'd likely get 100 different answers.
It doesn't make any difference to me or my life if you define D/s in some way that means I am not included in that definition. I'm not sure why you think your definition of D/s is one that all others should be held to?
I get the sense that you think that if something is common or "normal" then it can't be D/s. I just completely disagree with that. I don't think D/s has to be rare or "alternative lifestyle" to be D/s. I don't think what makes a relationship D/s is about who makes most of the decisions. I think there are some relationships were one person (of any gender, for the record) makes most of the decisions but I wouldn't see the relationship as D/s. In fact, a lot of abusive relationships can involve one person making a lot of decisions, and those aren't D/s. Boss/employee relationships and parent/child relationships also follow that model, but that's just how the world we live in works. It doesn't make those D/s relationships. They're just relationships with power imbalances. To me, whether a relationship with a leader and a follower is D/s or not is all about if you've both enthusiastically agreed to who leads and who follows.
You seem to think my relationship exclusively involves rough sex and caring for each other. That isn't the case. I have rules, expectations, protocols, etc. However, I still just disagree with you about those things being essential for D/s. I think D/s can be as simple as two people agreeing that one is 'the leader' and the other is 'the follower' and them choosing to exchange power. It doesn't have to be rules or whips or chains or anything in particular.
Even as far as kink goes, I don't think what makes something BDSM (or D/s) isn't as simple as what the act includes. To me D/s is power exchange, and most any sort of sex acto or kink can be done within power exchange, or it could be done without power exchange. Rough sex, oral sex, spanking, bondage, etc included. I can have soft, gentle sex that includes power exchange.
If you disagree or this doesn't make sense to you, that's fine, but you have no business telling me what to do with my blog, or how to identify my relationship.

Zatanna, Wonder Woman and Barry Allen go undercover in this issue of DC Retroactive: JLA- The 70's #1 (2011) and Diana is absolutely terrible at it:
Tumblr media
For those who don't know DC Retroactive are untold stories set in past continuities mostly by writers from those eras.
This issue was written by Carey Bates with art by Andy Smith.
(Side note: While Diana being 'bad' at going undercover is just a two page gag, it makes more sense for me that Diana, former 'Goddess of Truth' and wielder of the Lasso of True wouldn't be comfortable with secret identities. I never liked the idea of Diana needing a secret identity. )
The plot of this issue mainly revolves around Adam Strange, who is accidentally transported to Earth Prime following a fight with Kanjar Ro so Barry, Diana, Zatanna and Ollie travel to Earth Prime to rescue him while Hawkman and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) take on the newly empowered Kanjar Ro.
Earth-Prime is basically "our world" where the JLA are all fictional characters and the writers and creators exist on that earth. It's also the world where Superboy Prime originally came from. Since Adam had his mind zapped at a mental institute, the only solution is to find DC editor and Adam Strange super fan Julius Schwartz who can jog Adam's memory.
I'm not really a fan of creators writing themselves or their collegues into the story. It feels very self congratulatory. Especially since WW's lasso could have solved the whole thing. I much prefer how Marvel did it, like an Easter Egg, where Stan and Jack would sometimes appear as themselves in issues of Fantastic Four. But I guess you can look at this issue as Carey's tribute to Schwartz. This issue also came with a reprint of Justice League of America #123 where Carey Bates wrote himself (or rather his Earth Prime counterpart) as the villain of the story.
Adam Strange himself is a character that I have mixed feelings about. He's very much a product of his time but the ordinary guy with a space suit, jetpack and helmet really appeals to the young boy in me who loved the Rocketeer. I don't think anyone has ever quite figured out how to make him relevant today. Tom King tried in his mini but it was the usual trope of 'lets reveal this innocent Silver Age character is actually a horrible person' variety of reinvention.
Anyway, enough rambling, since this is a Zatanna blog, here is a few moments with her that I like:
-The League chilling on the tower, Diana looks like she is oogling at Zee plus Hal being a Pink Floyd fan:
Tumblr media
-Zatanna and Barry interactions plus Barry taking a leader ship role:
Tumblr media
-This bit about mind wipes:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Knowing how much of a nerd Barry is he probably folded inside when she called him boss.
Also while this was most likely an excuse to bring in Julius Schwartz, Zatanna not tampering with minds is more in character for her during this period especially since the arc with her mom also had a subplot of her being mad that her father played with her mind. Another point deducted from Identity Crisis.
Blink and you miss it panels where the artist is clearly showing off their ability to draw human body in perspective:
Tumblr media
And Diana wanting to take a selfie after the League defeats Kanjar Ro:
Tumblr media
(also Diana's clearly a history geek, only a history geeks would drop random facts about Incas completely unprompted):
Tumblr media
Overall, it's an old school issue. Very much a throwback. Still it's noteable that the writer of this issue didn't do the almost obligatory 'Zee gets gagged or taken out early so other characters can shine' plot. Every one has a role and everyone contributes their fair share to help defeat the villain.

I always wonder a little when people assume that Lucifer and Lilith are absolutely going to get back together.
I'm not against it -- ignore that this is a ship blog, lol. This isn't about my ship, which will never be canon (we all know this, chill), this is just my hazbin sideblog so I don't have to bother people with my thoughts on my main blog.
But going back to Lucifer and Lilith. People point out Lucifer's ring as proof that they will get back together, but it makes total sense to me that he still wears his ring. They were married for millenia. That's got to be hard to let go of.
What I have questions about largely revolve around the last 200 years. For one thing, they were married for ten thousand years, so why did they only have Charlie now? And why only one child? And how did they have her? Lilith's a sinner, and sinners can't reproduce. It's all so strange to me.
And then soon after -- for their lifespans, at least -- they separate. And we know from Charlie that she and Lucifer were "never close", which doesn't make sense, because they are so very alike and Lucifer obviously adores her. Which makes Charlie saying things like "he doesn't want to see me" so odd. What makes her think that? We know it's not true, because Lucifer was beside himself with joy when she asked him to come to the hotel. Why in the world was their relationship so fractured? I really don't think it's just because of his depression, because he's still severely depressed and jumped at the chance to see his daughter anyway.
It feels to me almost like Charlie believed those things because someone else told her they were true. Like in the pilot, when she says "maybe my dad was right about me", I find it so jarring because Lucifer never says anything disparaging about Charlie. He looks at her like she can do no wrong. Even when he's being condescending about the sinners at the hotel, his critique is never aimed at Charlie, but at sinners and at Heaven, which he believes will make her dream impossible. So why did Charlie seem to believe such things about him?
I can only suspect Lilith, and that's largely because the one flashback we get with her, she's separating Charlie and Lucifer -- something that they are both clearly upset about. Why was she even taking Charlie away? They were both so happy. It is a very deliberate choice to show her doing that in her one appearance (until the end, of course). It makes me feel like the distance between Charlie and Lucifer was in some way orchestrated. Done on purpose.
I think Lilith has a plan, and she needed a child to make it happen. And she needed that child to do certain things and believe certain things. I'm not saying she doesn't love Charlie, I'm saying that she had a reason besides love to have her. Why, after all, have a child after ten thousand years? Only to split from your husband shortly after? And make a deal in Heaven? Lilith is planning something, and I'm very curious to find out what it is.
I don't think she's evil or bad or anything like that (and I don't want her to be -- too often media depicts Lilith in a negative light). I do think that whatever her plan is, it's likely to be something that Lucifer (and probably Charlie) wouldn't agree with. I think that's why she kept Lucifer and Charlie apart. I think she's ambitious, and I think it's significant that the show points out that Lilith's reaction to and perception of Hell is in stark contrast to Lucifer's. They want different things.
And that's why I'm unsure of whether or not Lucifer and Lilith will get back together, because... while I'm sure Lucifer still loves her, that's a lot to get over. Purposefully creating a rift between him and the daughter he adores? The daughter he calls "the only thing left worth fighting for"? Knowing that would hurt him so deeply. Perhaps they could work past it, but I just don't know.
Anyway, I may be wildly off the mark and the show will contradict me entirely in season two. And that's cool if it does, haha. I'm just extrapolating from the hints I believe were dropped in season 1. Either way, I'm very interested to see what happens next.

Hello hello,
I am new around here. I really enjoy Kookmin’s bond, and I am also a researcher in the narrative space. I found you on Twitter and I was so impressed with your transparent, eloquent commentary on this whole thing. Thank you for running this blog. My question might be odd, but I am really curious to see how much of this ship/fan wars translate within the Korean social media space? The last few days have been nothing less than hell on the bird app, the anon requests on some of the blogs here are just people thinking they are so slick, but are just purely undermining Kookmin’s bond. I assume Naver is like one stop destination for SNS in Korea. I also see that the members have quit Twitter officially (I have no doubt they lurk though). Are ship wars this intense in the online spaces in Korea? Is it between the same ones we see on the I-Army side? I know shipping is a common theme in the pop space there and people might have healthier approach to it? This is also me being wishful that the members don’t see the pure vitriol that’s being expressed. Thank you in advance.
Hi, there! Thanks a lot for your nice message 😊
To put it shortly: no, such shipwars don't typically happen within k-army online spaces (at least not in the same way we know them) because there is never any need for debate around any meanings of words and no wiggle room for alternative explanations and seeing hidden signs in shadows. However, that doesn't mean that I have not come across any Korean accounts on Twitter that like to twist narratives and *especially* in case when their desired narratives feed into what their non-Korean speaking followers want to hear (they do like to take advantage of that language + cultural gap). As with every assessment though, Koreans are not a monolith, the same goes for k-armys or any netizens. There are some general tendencies but there will always be exceptions. Also it is important to note, even though the fandom largely organizes on the Twitter platform, I find it it less prominent among Korean ARMYs as to the amount of time they spend on there and the conversations that are held there.
From my perspective (my subjective opinion, therefore isn't unbiased and might not be representative of the whole community) ships or to be more accurate 'duos' / 'insert name line' are first and foremost among the majority about the members' chemistry, cute moments, looks, vocals and performances together; not about any potential romantic involvement of the two (that is not to say there are absolutely no Korean shippers of course). It is important to remember that the general premise has been that the idol sells their Korean fans the idea of a boyfriend/girlfriend, therefore the whole fantasy revolves around him/her and the fans having a connection, hence why for example idol dating life is still a big no no in the public etc.
To add, sadly since Korean fans can't get away with twisting the meanings of what the boys said (unless they want to appear ridiculous and stupid) the 'wars' therefore turn more vicious than that. There are some prominent 악개 akgae groups within the BTS fandom too which use all kinds of tactics to tarnish the reputation of the other members by spreading rumors through Korean forums, discussion boards, trending tags and by even reaching out to Korean reporters to run stories based on false evidence. So I would say, these things do happen, just in a different way because Korean online space can be truly unhinged.
I don't believe the members have ever witnessed any of the craziness on the international side as it for the most part thankfully only happens on the international side (objectivelly imagine if Koreans were having real arguments over, for example, the meaning of 동생 'dongsaeng' 😂😂😂 it sounds absolutely ridiculous). And in the instances they did, when e.g. someone tried to push a 'ship' narrative on any of them directly, we got the infamous 'get out of your imagination' response.
Hope I answered your message clearly and covered all your points. Once again, thanks a lot for reaching out!

Hey Jalebi. How are you? I discovered your blog last year while rewatching IPKKND. Your and Phati-Sari's blogs are my favorite. Both of your blogs were really helpful in clearing some of my confusions that I always had regarding the show.
As you recently answered a question regarding Lavanya. I wanted to ask you a question about Lavanya's track. You don't have to answer if you have already answered it before. I couldn't find anything regarding this in the blog so I am asking. I recently re watched those episode where La n Arnav had their first break up and then he brought her back. I couldn't understand what Arnav was thinking bringing her back to his house. Cause from their previous argument it was obvious their relationship has changed. Even though when they started the relationship they were both on the same page. Now they both want different things from the relationship. Lavanya wouldn't have settled for anything less than marriage and Arnav wouldn't marry her. So they did the right thing by breaking up. But when he brought her back, I am sure it only raised La's hope and his family's too. La and his family thought that he must have changed his decision about marraige. But that wasn't the case. His and Lavanya's relationship was stuck in a loop, there was no going forward unless he wants to marry her. So why did he even brought her back when he clearly wasn't thinking about marraige? What was he planning to do exactly?
Btw I am glad to find someone who has same opinion as me about BD. I thought I was the only one who didn't enjoy the show. It's really sad though because I loved Barun n Ridhi in Asur and was really excited to watch them in a romantic show. But I felt they had more chemistry in Asur than this show. How did you find Kohrra?
Hello Anon!
Thank you for the love <3 <3 <3
Regarding Arnav and Lavanya; Arnav brought her back for two reasons - for Khushi and his family. The wonderful thing about IPK is that it's never direct, it's not going to spoon-feed you what every character is feeling so the audience gets a lot of room to interpret everything.
In my opinion, bringing back La showed Khushi that Arnav does have a heart
Tumblr media
and his family was distressed without La. Apart from Nani - whose opinion Arnav doesn't really care about - everyone loves La and Arnav is actually content seeing his family at piece as now La and his family have become a unit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anjali comes up to Arnav and tells him one thing - "I'm so happy you did this Chote," and that means everything for Arnav - his Di's happiness.
Tumblr media
But he is incredibly conflicted with Khushi's tears because he did what she wanted and she's still hurt, and yes - Arnav and La's relationship had irreparable damage and you can see from this point onwards Arnav has no commitment - nothing - towards La. Also this is the point where he actively begins to emotionally cheat on her.
He's more concerned about Khushi, his world starts revolving around her. La just doesn't exist. Up until this point La was an active person in his life. Even in their argument they're fighting like a couple and post the breakup everything disappears between Arnav and La.
They don't talk. They don't fight. They don't laugh... nothing.
And Lavanya panics, she knows everything has changed - she panics further when Khushi decides to leave because Khushi being here is a reminder that Lavanya is being 'groomed' to be a bahu - without Khushi, La needs to face the reality of being a part of this family without a buffer and actually being Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada. Which is a cold, empty identity of being a man's wife who is invested in... nothing.
But still, love makes one choose the worst decisions and she decided to still come back because at least she's in Arnav's house. It's a sad decision.
For Arnav, marriage with Lavanya is a practical decision and it would've ultimately been that. Lavanya truly loves the family and vice versa (he's genuinely happy seeing both parties care for each other) and it puts Nani away from his back and Lavanya is someone who understands Arnav (even though he no longer understands himself).
Tumblr media
So it's a perfect compromise (he doesn't realize how shitty he is as a partner until it's too late - he jolts into reality when during Satyanarayan Puja La was happy because he didn't yell at her and it's a slap on his face on wtf is he as a partner).
And yeah, Kohrra was fab! Just really some solid storytelling tbh.
Best,
Jalebi

Happy holiday.... What do you think that made Yuuji is so likeable as a character? I've only been in the JJK fandom for a year, and I've seen a lot of other JJK characters' stan. But one thing in common, they all love Yuuji and mostly will include him in their top 5 fav JJK charas (including me :D)...
Also, extra kudos cause your blog is anti-gojo. Most of my moots love him and can't stop talking about him. I already tell them that I don't really like him (actually I hate him), they're okay but still so into him. So I'm so happy when I found your blog.
What do you think that made gojo so famous? Is it the pretty face and bad personality (I'm still confused until now)....? I dislike gojo kinda like I dislike dazai from BSD. They're both called "The one who stole the spotlight from the protagonist" (by my animanga group)....
I hope your holidays were nice! And everything best in the new year :D Thank you for the ask.
I think Yuuji is likable because he's very relatable. There's this post about how much we learn about him in the first few chapters and it clearly shows how there are just layers to him from the very start. How it's not easy for him to make close friends he can open up to but he tries. How he deals with family issues. How he is towards strangers.
There's this very strong humanity to Yuuji, he has super powers but he's extremely normal and human about it. He's such a contrast to the jujutsu society he enters where most sorcerers are so detached from the normies. Nanami isn't as detached, neither is Miwa. And Nobara isn't fully detached either. That is probably why Yuuji connects with her so closely, closer than with Megumi who's very steeped into the whole jujutsu ideology.
And as the story progresses we see Yuuji dehumanised, insulted and targeted. We see him trying to constantly reconcile his values with his new reality, we see him try not to lose himself when everyone tries to tell him he's wrong. When actually he's the one sane, the one that hasn't instrumentalised human life.
_
Yeah, this is a safe space for those who aren't in the Gojou cult. I think my main problem with Gojou is the dissonance between who Gojou is and what he actually stands for or does in the manga, and what a lot of his fans think he is. Also the fact that like two times his fans came at me and actively tried to evangelise the cult of Gojou to me. And like, I've never gone to anyone and tried to convince them to love Kenjaku or Sukuna, or even Yuuji XD
I think Gojou's looks contribute a lot to his popularity, something I personally don't understand, I find the white haired blue eyed anime boy ugly. But Gojou also has very flashy powers. And he's shipped with his friend turned antagonist, and it was all very dramatic and sad.
I think in JJK not only Gojou steals not exactly the spotlight from Yuuji... I don't know how to call it. But Megumi and Yuuta do it too.
My experience with this fandom is that a lot of the fans don't get what JJK is about and what kind of story it is. And they want to squeeze JJK into a certain stereotype of what a shounen manga is supposed to be.
So in that stereotype a shounen manga is one where a very special boy fights (sometimes metaphorically because it's for example football XD) his way through progressively stronger opponents to achieve his goal. The goal can be noble and grand or very personal. The boy also accrues friends along the way who help him fight somewhat but like the boy fights against the boss of the arc. And generally the plot revolves around him and happens around him.
Which some shounen surely are, I'm not super well versed in any genre, but from what I vaguely remember from trying to watch Dragon Ball a long time ago it had that kinda vibe... I wouldn't bet money on my memory of that though. Chainsaw Man also had that vibe to me, and Demon Slayer and Blue Lock - as much as I've seem of those titles.
It's just that I don't even know how statistically relevant that stereotype is. Hunter x Hunter isn't like that, neither is Hell's Paradise. Full Metal Alchemist leans that way at times but isn't really that.
And JJK isn't like that either. It's a story driven by its antagonists - Kenjaku, elders, recently Sukuna- and not its protagonist. It actively deconstructs the myth of the strongest Gojou is as much a product and a problem of the jujutsu society as Sukuna is. People talk that loneliness is the theme in JJK because recently Sukuna's fan club was asking him to cure theirs and he did, for all of them. But what people forget that the theme of loneliness as a motivator started with Yuuji. But the loneliness isn't the only theme. There's this huge discussion of what society should be, what is the place of jujutsu in society and in the world and Kenjaku and Yuuji are at the centre of that. There's the theme of the value of human life that Yuuji is the point of view character for, Nanami, Higuruma and Megumi occasionally chip into that but it's always in the context of Yuuji. There's a huge theme of bodily autonomy in JJK that connects many characters but Yuuji is very much central to it, together with Kenjaku and Yuuji's personal foil Mahito.
Also Yuuji isn't what you'd call a stereotypical shounen protagonist, he's much closer to a stereotypical shoujo protagonist and when you realise that, when you realise what the themes of JJK are, you see that there is no other protagonist of JJK. I'm linking to the ask where I outlined that.
So I think people who talk about Yuuta or Gojou being main characters actually just like these guys and are wowed by their super hyper flashy techniques and don't give much of a shit about what most of the manga is about. With Megumi I think it's because he's a pretends he's an intellectual and says these fake deep broody things while the close up is on his lashes. I mean his technique is super strong and flashy too... when Sukuna uses it because Sukuna is a jujutsu nerd and he actually knows how to use it XD

I can't really understand Ace's psychology... In the comic he seems to me to be a funny dandy, a bit of a tease but not a bad guy, with a trauma that has led him to do stupid things for reasons who were moral. Given that the comic ended on a hopeful note thanks to Dream, we can only imagine that things will get better for him afterwards... Whereas in the Asks, the commentaries and all the information outside the comic, he comes across as much more cynical, tragic and negative... In fact, over and above what I'm sure is a lack of understanding of the comic, it's a difference in the aura of both that I feel that's confusing me... Perhaps you can enlighten me?
There's definitely a difference in how Ace acts outside of the comic vs how Ace acts inside the comics. A lot of it is the difference between Ace being essentially shackled by Joker vs afterwards.
He really doesn't break the fourth wall very much within the comic so you don't get much of his active disdain of us. It's a contained story-line, he can't interact with creators in real-time. Whereas, on a medium like tumblr or in an rp event, he's real-time talking with creators, and he loves to antagonize creators, hence, being pretty cynical.
His nature as a character is something that isn't resolved and 'things will get better' doesn't mean he's doesn't have like. Fifty different mental illnesses still. In fact, Ace in the comic recognizes this by not saying that things are better, but that they could be better, and in two parts of that, his goal is to 1. Enjoy himself. And 2. Get over what he lost, both of which he is doing in most of the post-AU stuff. When he references his tragedy he usually does so mockingly or ironically. When he talks to creators he's also doing the same. The ask blog isn't that great of an example for his post-Au character given it's intentionally a non-canon and actively antagonistic format, so he's just constantly not enjoying it. A better example would be RP events on discord, which most people never saw, or this really old one-shot I made when I was like 16, which you can read here (it's not the best written but still in character):
This is a pretty typical way he'd react. He's not really overly cynical or negative, mostly just chaotic and quick witted. If he thought you thought that about that, he would be offended, and then he'd act much more positive, just for you. He'd give people gifts and sing funny musical numbers, full orchestration. Do some dances, really bring the energy.
If people thought he was too upbeat and positive, he'd kill a rabbit with a playing card in front of them, electrocute someone, and threaten to burn their house down (whether serious or not is up to you).
His personality is always revolving around his weird way of speaking and general oddities, but he'll essentially do anything as long as an illusion is fuelling it because illusions allow him to do anything. Which includes acting in a very wide variety of ways.
The power of illusions just lets him make the world his playground.
He plays the hero, he plays the villain, he plays whatever role he thinks is something you haven't seen him play before, because he can do whatever he wants (except cliches, they'll kill him dead), and he's going to do whatever he wants, to keep you on your toes. If he's talking to creators he's almost always going to be sarcastic though, simply because he doesn't like them very much. He uses other characters as vectors for his silly hi-jinks, which he just fundamentally can't pull when talking to creators directly.
You can also find a more in depth overview of his personality here:

uhhh maybe prompt 41 (“i’m gonna tickle the sadness out of you!”) with lee!deimos, ler!sanford for the writing thing? i hope im doing this right (trying so hard to be brave and not use anon rn LOL)
hello !!! sorry for not getting to this for a while, my creative gears were not moving like they should but i got it out!!! yay me!! lmao
(you don't have to use your main, you can always use anon if it makes you more comfortable <3 /p)
this has a little bit of angst, considering the prompt revolves around it so you've been warned >:(
sanford gets anxious when deimos isn't out doing his usual bullshit. he goes to check on him and finds something he'd never thought he'd see: deimos crying. after nothing else works, sanford decides to comfort the other the only way he knows how!
not proofread lol. it's 3am and i can't sleep!! but regardless, enjoy the mc fic while i work on the others i've got in my big ol brain.
edit; this took me fucking forever. and im so sorry. i had shit going on and a lot of my inspo got taken, and for a while, i forgot this blog existed. and y'know. adhd things. i finally got it done. i hope it's good, buuuut it's probably not considering it all. regardless, i hope you enjoy. :D
quick something: i based this off the deimos spin-off series. i hc that he often has nightmares based on that one scene in that series, and that's what led up to this. so if anyone was curious, lol that's where i got the inspo for this fic.
Something was off.
Sanford only recognized something was wrong when he realized the room was insanely quiet. The only noises that came through the lounge were the soft hums of Hank as they sharpened their knives beside him, and the various scribbling noises of 2BDamned’s pencil on work papers. The only person missing from the group was the childish technician, or more bluntly put, the hook-wielder’s boyfriend. That realization alone concerned him a little. Usually, he was always around - being annoying to Hank, chatting up Doc, or just roaming the area with a cigarette in his mouth.
…why was he not here?
Sanford took a few minutes to think about it a little more, but the more he thought about the fact that he wasn’t around, the more nervous it made him. Hank seemed to notice this from the corner of their eye, their gaze turning slightly toward the left. “What are you worried about?” He asked, setting down his knife and turning his attention to the dark-skinned man beside him. “I don’t know,” he exhaled sharply. “Have you seen Deimos around? Is he out? I just… think it’s kind of weird he’s not … doing his usual, y’know, bullshit.”
Hank chuckled softly at that comment, narrowing his eyes toward the hallway that led to his room. “I went to check on him earlier. He told me he’d be out in a few minutes, but… now that I think about it, it’s been a little bit since he told me that. You want to go check on him?” They tilted their head, looking back at the worried expression on the hook-wielder’s face. Sanford nodded, lifting himself off the couch. He headed straight toward the technician’s room, and when he got there, he was concerned with the silence.
“Deimos?” he knocked softly at the door, hoping that he didn’t scare the other. For a minute, there was no reply; maybe he fell back asleep. He didn’t really want to barge into the other’s room uninvited - especially if he was doing something personal. But just as he started to back away from the door, he heard the rough voice of the other ever so quietly. “What is it?” Deimos responded back.
"I'm coming in, alright?" Sanford opened the door slowly but what he saw in front of him shocked him even more.
Deimos was curled up on his bed, completely covered by the giant blanket he had. The only things that Sanford could see were his head and his hands which were grasping the pillow he had tightly. The pillowcase was completely soaked with tears, and they still continued to flow as he looked up at the hook-wielder's troubled face. "What do you want?" Deimos asked, his voice cracking a little as he hiccupped softly, his body trembling from how much he had been crying.
Sanford's eyes widened. "Hey, hey," his voice grew softer as he sat on the edge of the bed, "what's the matter? What happened?" It took a minute for the other to even get a full sentence out without stuttering.
"I just... I d-don't know," he started. The act of opening up just made him want to cry harder, but he resisted the urge to. He refused eye contact with his boyfriend, the obvious frown on his face only growing bigger. "I-I'm just so overwhelmed with everything, and sometimes, my thoughts like to run free and think of all sorts of things that would probably never happen in a million years... and I keep thinking, 'what if they do happen?' What then?"
Sanford gently placed a hand on his cheek, stroking his face softly. "Listen, whatever you're thinking of, forget about it. The reality of the situation is that we're both alive and well. That's all that really matters, isn't it?" He wiped away his tears, giving him a soft smile in return. It was only a shame that he couldn't return it.
"It's not that simple, y'know," Deimos whispered. "I can't just stop thinking about it."
Deimos was right about that, he thought bitterly. There had to be some way to distract him from the sadness he was going through.
And then the idea hit him like a train.
"What if there was a way you could just 'stop thinking about it', huh?" Sanford shot back, suddenly gaining a teasy tone in his voice. The technician shook his head, rubbing his eyes. There were no more tears left for him to give, so he just sat there with a frown instead. "I appreciate the offer, but nothing is really going to stop me from thinking about this," he muttered, looking down at his bedsheets.
"That's what you think," Sanford replied, his eyes glistening with 'evil' intent. "But I know a surefire way to get you out of this mood!" Deimos just turned his head to the side, the frown growing in size as the two's eyes interlocked. That frown quickly changed to something different. An anxious smile, perhaps?
"What are you planning to do, huh, Ford? Since it's... surefire..." Deimos hesitated slightly when he saw the other towering over him. Sanford wrapped his arms around the technician, listening to the other yelp as he was trapped in a hug. He was caught off guard and a little surprised by the sudden affection, but he had no idea what was about to happen. "F-Ford, what- WAIHIHIT, NOHOHO!" Deimos cackled embarrassingly as the other's large fingers found their way right to his torso, digging into the sensitive flesh he found there.
"I'm gonna tickle the sadness out of you!" Sanford assured him, watching the other flail helplessly in his grasp at the ticklish sensation. Deimos was trying his hardest to get out of the situation he was in, kicking his legs out underneath the blanket he was in which, admittedly, only hurt him more as it got tangled between his legs and between itself. Curse that damn blanket!
"NOHOHO- SAHAHAN! BAHAHAD SAN!" Deimos chided as if he was talking to a dog, throwing his head back on his pillow. Sanford's fingers dug in a little deeper, an amused smirk growing on his face. "Nu-uh," he shook his head, leaning in closer to get a good look at his boyfriend's beautiful smile, "I'm not stopping until the sadness is gone. It's a good thing you're so ticklish, huh?" The other teased softly, giving him a small kiss right on the nose.
Deimos' laugh rose in pitch, making him sound almost like a little girl. The technician pushed at his boyfriend's shoulders, but the other didn't budge a bit. "What do you think you're doing, huh, Deimos? Trying to push me off? Who do you think you are~? You think you can get away from... the tickle monster?!" Sanford chuckled softly hearing the shriek that came out of Deimos' mouth as he lifted up his shirt, leaning down to his sensitive belly. He looked up, letting the realization of the situation sink in.
"SAHAHAHAN-! D-DOHOHOHON'T YOHOHOU DAHAHARE!!" Deimos squealed out. Sanford didn't listen, however, as his lips met the other's sensitive skin. Just that alone was enough to send shivers down the other's spine, his hands pushing against the hook-wielder's shoulders with a bit more intensity. It didn't affect Sanford in the slightest, considering that his boyfriend was already so weak due to the tickling.
"Oh, but," he muttered with a sly grin. "What if I do dare?"
And with that, Sanford blew a raspberry right on his stomach, knowing that the vibrations only made it ten times worse for Deimos. And that it did, considering the reaction he got out of him. The shriek that left his mouth was louder than anything he'd ever heard before and he just knew that the others outside could hear it clearly. His legs kicked weakly against the bedsheets as his squeaky, sort of rough laughter continued to ring out. His face was a bright red and his smile reached from ear to ear - something that was more positive than sight Sanford had seen earlier. He could almost get memorized it.
"SAHAHAHAN-! STAHAHAPH I-IHIHIM DYIHIHING!!" Deimos clenched his fist as he slammed his hands on the other's back, signaling that he was quite close to his limit. Sanford only chuckled as he gave him one last nibble, sending tickly vibrations all throughout his body before he leaned back. Deimos fell against the pillow, panting as he looked up at his boyfriend.
"...so, did that get your mind off stuff?" he asked quietly, his smile growing bigger as he put a hand on the side of his cheek, pushing the technician's messy hair behind his ears. He was sweating and blushing, but at least he didn't look sad anymore. Deimos let out another shaky breath before replying.
"Yeah, ... yeah, it did. T-Thanks." He chuckled as he turned away. Sanford pulled him close into a tight embrace, leaning his head into the crook of his neck. The technician gasped as he let out a softer sigh, leaning against his boyfriend as his hands gently rested on his bare back.
"Listen, if you ever need to talk about stuff, I'm here," Sanford started, his words a bit muffled as his face buried deeper into the other's neck. "I will always be there for you. There's no mistaking that. If it's something you can't talk about, well, I'll be there for that too. I can always bring out the tickle monster again..~." He chuckled, giving him a slight poke to the side.
"Aha-! Y-Yeah, yeah, whatever. C'mere, you big goof."
And the two lay there for a few minutes. There were no more tears, but instead two content smiles of partners who knew that they had each other.
