There's a real paradox here that makes it impossible for me to get a new hyperfixation/take a break from Tumblr. I usually use tumblr to access things about my new interest. This was easier when I never had an account and just scrolled through the tags and endlessly bookmarked things. But there's no way to go back to that now: for one, the tablet I did all that with is nearly dead (and I still never use it anymore because the thought of it dying terrifies me), and two: Tumblr is nearly impossible to use without an account. If I log out of my account and attempt to search for anything, this screen inevitably pops up:

THIS! THIS RIGHT HERE IS MY PROBLEM! It's impossible to scroll without an account, but I never want to leave my dashboard once I log into my account. It's a cursed paradox!! I hate it!!!

See I just genuinely do not get this thing about making Moriarty obsessed with Holmes or making everything he does revolve around Holmes or even if it's before he ever encounters Holmes it's him desperately trying to find his 'equal' who turns out to be, of course, Holmes, sometimes even if he doesn't realise he's doing this, and him not caring about anything or anyone else and nobody else can fit with him at all. It isn't in the canon that he's like this and also people don't do this with Holmes, they don't make him obsessed with Moriarty and nothing else, they don't have everything he does revolve around Moriarty, they don't have him infatuated with Moriarty while they erase Watson or shove him aside and make out he and his relationship with Holmes don't matter.

But nah of course Moriarty has to be absolutely obsessed with Holmes or with finding his ~true equal~ (Holmes) and Moran doesn't matter at all to him. Of course.

This idea permeates so many non-canonical texts and adaptations and just... ideas about him generally (god remember the Conan Doyle Estate and their bullshit about Moriarty being Holmes's "number one nemesis and obsessive fan") and I hate it.

Update!

Decided we’d have to do no flow or all the flow so I added some extra fins. Idk how I feel about them, they’re a little clunky here which might be why I don’t like them much rn… we’ll see if they stay. Luring fish in when you’re at least ten times the size of them can be difficult to keep out of their way, so the extra fins and such are meant to mimic seaweed. This is in case other fish run into his massive tail in the dark, they won’t think much of it. The extra fins are there to make that more convincing.

The lights along the sides of his tail can be controlled independently from the one on his head, and are used mostly for communication purposes.

Just got some terrible news. The van driver who brings me home in the afternoon won't be able to do it anymore (at least not for a little while). And while the new van driver isn't an awful person, he's a lot more talkative and he made me sit up front with him (which felt new and uncomfortable). It's a change. And it's thrown me into a deep feeling of chaos. I'm upset now. It's too much change for me. Just as I was getting used to the school schedule, they change my afternoon driver on me! That's how it feels, and that's why I'm so stressed and angry! I think I ended up yelling at my dad about it, so I feel kind of bad now. But I was just too stressed to control myself.
