A Fuzzy once again, but this time more with my own take, and in the M&L style because I’ve been enjoying learning it. For my take on him, I chose to make a bit of a composite of all of his past designs, because honestly they were all good in their own way and there’s a little I liked from each. I prefer a pointier look and a bigger build like the golfing goon and movie guido, but I like the sneaky shades of the classic, and the newer lad’s outfit, because you’ll never take the Fix it Felix look from me now. The brown gloves were my own choice, because with that outfit, the classic white gloves don’t suit it at all, and also it’s a nice contrast to the Bros. 

Speaking of classic, boredom led to me checking out Wrecking Crew, and I was NOT expecting puzzles, for some reason? I hated it, but I also loved it, and after so many hours and cheating with the rewind later, I get it now...I get you, Mario. Regardless of his crimes against humanity, I wanna see him make a comeback, the way they dusted off Pauline. I’d say I didn’t realize how much I enjoy the older stuff, but I was and still am OBSESSED with Donkey Kong 94, and Wrecking Crew felt like that game’s predecessor, so despite how ANGRY some of the bs puzzles made me, it gave me that same joy that DK94 does. 

Anyway, I digress. I’m not sure how I did, I look at my design and I feel like I just made a completely different character... Idk, maybe it works, let me know, but either way I’M happy with it and that’s what matters in the end I suppose~ :)c

Gwen is definitely possessive btw- Michelle's little lesbian ass can't deal with it either. They may be stubborn but they're stubborn in different ways... Like Gwen knows Michelle flops when she exerts a little bit of possessiveness, but Michelle knows Gwen is easily flustered and embarrassed... Meanwhile Mike just sits and watches them like "???Ladies what are you doing???"

I can also see Gwen feeling the need to constantly declare her stake on Michelle - she sees Mike and although she understands he's her brother and he has every right to be protective and love her, she also thinks that she can do it better and he should just leave it to her 😤 She gets a kick out of lowkey antagonising Mike (but never in a serious capacity - Michelle would be upset if she did).

Michelle, Gwen, and Mike: *out at a market*

Mike: *checks to see Michelle is still there*

Gwen: *instinctively grabs Michelle's hand and glares at Mike like he's going to take her away*

Michelle: *just happy to be there, currently eyeing up some snacks*

Mattie tends to show he's Mike's bird when it comes down to it, and does bad-mouth Gwen to both Michelle and Mike on occasion - Michelle just chooses not to tell Gwen exactly what's been said to avoid Mike losing his pet prairie chicken...

TYSM!!!! OOOH okay I am answering this a bit late because I had to actually go and write this full scene from about chapter... seven-ish of my cowboy/wild west au, I want to say? Roughly ch. 7 or 8? I needed the scene to be able to take an excerpt from it. Anyways, it's the good ol' 'well, there was actually more than one bed, but they accidentally fell asleep on the same couch anyways and this happened, and it was entirely in their control, and yet here we are after a series of happenings' in shades of contestshipping.

Naturally, the next section, she realizes where she is and almost injures herself trying to untangle from that entirely avoidable (but not unwanted) situation.

As for a fic concept I've had around but probably won't actually work on, I have several. I think the main one I've been thinking about lately is actually a long-dead Zelda fandom wip that centers around the concept of the sort of... illusion of choice, the illusion of being able to have made better decisions. We all think about how we could have done things differently, but it's speculation. For all we know, the path we're on is one we'd be stuck on anyways, and this kind of messes with that.

I was thinking about how BOTW ended in tragedy. Zelda wasn't able to save her kingdom- not in the way she had intended to, at least. She hadn't been able to defeat Ganon. But what if she had? What if she had done everything right, and it had all worked out? (Of course, she did nothing wrong, but she wouldn't see it that way. From an outside perspective we can see the events of the calamity as an inevitability, but she couldn't have that clarity that we would as a player).

But here's the thing. Even if we entertained the possibility of a 'good end', where would that leave her? She thrives in the wilderness, and if she had been able to do her duty 'properly', she'd have fulfilled her role as queen of the kingdom she saved and would be deprived of the freedom she needed.

Her only way to ever feel freedom is to fail and to watch her kingdom, her cage crumble, but to fail is to never be free of the weight of her failure. It's a catch-22, a rock and a hard place, an impossible situation with no good outcome. To win is to lose and to lose is to win (but you still lost). It's a tragedy no matter how you tell it, no matter how many choices you make differently. She was miserable because she failed and she'd have been miserable in the wake of success. I just love that sort of doomed-from-the-start inevitability, and the idea that she could have made some decision along the way that would have fixed it is a fallacy I think she could fall into easily.

I won't write it because it's too unstructured and messy, as I'm sure is reflected with how messily I recounted the idea, but it's definitely still there.

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

you know what boils my blood.

over the last 2 weeks, i've seen countless patients walk into my urgent care center, symptomatic for so many things, refusing to get tested for covid and flu, citing that they don't want to knowingly bring it to their holiday tables. i had a patient tell me, verbatim, "i don't want to test for covid, because i don't want to be the asshole who brings it on a plane."

i understand that - i understand that holidays are times where people look forward to meeting loved ones that they might only see once a year, or where they get a break from the hectic back and forth of their lives.

but here's the thing - whether they get tested or not, they will bring whatever they have to their holiday tables. it's pure recklessness to know that you're sick, and walk into someone else's house spreading the disease.

today, january 2, i saw 91 patients, many of them who have tested positive for covid and flu. many of these patients are the same ones who didn't want testing 3 days ago, until their events were over, and now, they will have to reach out to everyone they know to let them know that they were positive because they were showing symptoms well before their event.

the next week or two? we're going to see many, many more, all people with symptoms that started around christmas. these are the only two viruses we test for rapidly in our office, but they are potent and can be fatal in many people.

so here's why i wrote this post, and maybe it's a little late, but - if you care about your loved ones, please get tested if you know you're sick. it doesn't have to be at a clinic if you don't want it to, because the over-the-counter tests work just fine too (if you test within 5-7 days of symptom onset). just...please don't try to run from the knowledge that you might have covid, because immunocompromised people, elderly people, people with co-morbidities like asthma, pregnancy, diabetes, etc...many of them may not recover. and they may not be sitting at your holiday table in the future because of it.

So Clark Kent acts as a whistle-blower, the Justice League publicly condems the Anti-Ecto Acts as inhumane, the GIW is disbanded, and Batman gets pardoned for all of those crimes that he technically did by assaulting federal agents. And after all that gets sorted, some white haired kid pops up in the Watchtower like "haha thanks for that I really didn't want a war between Earth and the Infinite Realms" and the League are like "wait what"
