Let Danny’s Parents Be Criminals

I hate the reveal gone wrong trope in the dpxdc fandom because we know Jack and Maddie end up supporting Danny and Dani in the end. His parents have some major flaws but wanting to torture their actual child isn’t one. What they are guilty of is going way too hard on any plan they cook up without thinking of the consequences.

If I were writing a dpxdc fic and I wanted Danny in adoptable status I’d just have Jack and Maddie in jail on charges of domestic terrorism after they killed off GIW agents and destroyed the GIW’s bases. They realized their ghost kids were in potential danger and went at the government the same way they went at ghosts, guns blazing and with reckless driving.

They end up in federal prison and they Vlad wins custody cause he’s rich and there is your runaway Danny plot starter.

the ivan that regards his own feelings as shallow, the ivan that learned how emotions are expressed only from copying others… does he even know that the love he’s felt for so long is love? probably not. and part of the reason is the one he loves himself

because the easiest example he has of love is till's feelings to mizi. till outright calls it love, and ivan watches him so much he has to be aware of this and till’s love to mizi is totally unselfish, right. he doesn’t seem to actually want much from her—just that she's still there and still "mizi"

but ivan can't be satisfied with just watching he… wants. ivan wants till’s attention, till’s affection—

surely this selfish wanting can’t be love

...no wonder he was never able to express his feelings straightforwardly when he belittles them so much but he can’t stand not having anything either, so he does… whatever he does instead to get any scraps of attention he can, from someone he's convinced doesn't care about him at all only showing affection when till can't see it, right until he knows he's going to die

but ivan's feelings for till are all he still has of himself... to think of them as shallow...

I've seen this translated as "I should've been kinder" to him (till) or to her (sua)

but really, the one he should've been kinder to was himself

#undescribed #my art #my comic #secret modern au #this is nearly word for (translated and slightly adjusted) word conversation i had with my dad. #working on the modern au i was still trying to figure out how to go about sanji's transness. then one day i had a #meltdown where this convo happened and i thought it was kind of fascinating how even though the context is different. the meaning of the #words too it's still very much the exact same 'i can't be how i want and i hate it' the difference is sanji doesn't understand why #he feels this way. it's a 'had a breakdown. bon appétit' kind of comic tbh idk if i'll get around finishing it #but it helped me figure out this version of sanji. #i need to go cut my hair

One of my favorite things is how Simon responds to Wille openly sharing his feelings with him. I just feel like a lot of people don't know how to respond to vulnerability, it makes them uncomfortable, they get defensive, or they make a joke about it etc but Simon responds so compassionately or is open back and i just love that about their dynamic. In the reverse the few times Simon is open and shares what he needs, Wille gives him the space to share and tries to support him (more so in the second half of the season lol *growth*) but it's just really nice. And also think an important representation for people to see yeah it's scary to open up and say how u feel but there will be people who don't judge you or shame you for feeling things. Esp for young men but for everyone i feel its really nice to have this both to show opening up but also to show how you could respond if someone opens up to you.

I feel like given the situation Simon could have said something defensive back or continued to be mad. And some people say this is "too forgiving" but I think he recognizes that Wille is putting himself out there by saying this and i feel like Simon really values that. and from that we get one of the most honest tender moments. Wille showed how he felt with words and simon with action (moving towards him instead of away).

This is one of my all time favorite scenes and hugs bc it feels like they are actually communicating and supporting each other and have their guards down fr. I also think it is a big thing to admit you are scared and we don't talk about that enough!!! But anyway i just wanna say yeah they do fight (all couples do) but when they actually open up to eachother instead of like accusing eachother etc it's really really beautiful and I can't wait for more of that S3.

I’m a firm supporter of exiting out of fics over the smallest things. Oh you don’t like the dynamic? Exit. You don’t enjoy the way the characters speak to each other? Exit. Something bothers you and it’s not even a trigger? Exit.

It is actually incredibly easy AND healthy to not push through reading something you’re not enjoying just because you think you HAVE TO. Take care of yourself! Even for tiny things! And don’t harass writers over those things either because tbh reading an entire fic and hating one large aspect of it is like…..definitely not the writers fault 💀

i Do Not Trust people who make Mary the bad guy in their stories when the show went out of its way to specifically show us how she was suffering just as much as stede was in their marriage and that shes, yknow, a good person
