Harry Styles x British Royal!Reader
Her Royal Highness Princess YN, daughter to Prince Charles and late Princess Diana, Prince and Princess of Wales, younger sister to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and granddaughter to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh would’ve never thought to meet Harry Styles by accident—by literally running into him. And Harry Styles would’ve never thought to meet the Princess of England again after that seemingly fateful afternoon.

author’s note: If you see any mistakes I made—especially royal title wise—please send an ask (anon asks are enabled!). I seriously love and appreciate your help with that <3

sunflowerbutterfly Sometimes I really hate my job—especially if I have to change out of my comfy pullover and fluffy slippers into a dress, a coat, and some high heels.
Seriously, who invented high heels? Hey Alexa, who invented high heels? … ah, so ancient Iran, aka Persia, is to blame. Great. I will condemn those for centuries dead people happily while I suffer during every step I take this afternoon. Burn in hell, ancient Persian torturer.

She could feel the looming shadows of her two Royal Protection Officers right at her back. Aaron and Egil—the first broad, dark, and Scottish, the latter tall, blonde, bearded, and Swedish—shielded her body from the screams of reporters and blinding lights of their clicking cameras while the princess climbed into the back of the waiting SUV. Inside the cozily warm vehicle, YN ripped off the obnoxious hat she was supposed to wear and threw it without a second glance onto the seat next to her. Meanwhile, her feet kicked off the high heels, and with a strangled groan, the blonde pulled them up one after the other and massaged her soles with closed eyes.
The left front door got opened as Egil climbed into the car; Bernard—her favorite driver—already sat behind the wheel and looked through the rear mirror back at the princess. She smiled at the sight of his kind and twinkling eyes. “To Starbucks, Your Highness?” He asked while Egil buckled up. YN nodded. “That would be great, thank you, Bernard. But could we grab a cup at the one in Notting Hill? Near Holland Park? I’m most definitely not in the mood for a crowd.”—Which would form in front of the Starbucks near the river on the other Thames bank opposite Westminster because most tourists frequented this shop. The driver hummed and used the blinker. “Of course, Your Highness.”
Sighing, YN leaned back in her seat but pushed back upward as Egil reached between his feet, clad in shining black Oxford shoes, and conjured a shoebox. He turned in his car seat to hand it over to the princess. “Your sneaker,” the blonde giant smiled, and YN grinned happily. “I thought I forgot them back at Kensington!” She exclaimed and grabbed the box with her current favorite Converse shoes—one in lavender and the other one in a sunflower yellow. Ever since the reporters had seen the princess wearing the odd color combination, every single pair was sold out in the UK and other parts of the world. The internet had been full of posts spotting the same two Converse shoes the princess regularly wore in paparazzi shots.
“Your lady in waiting had handed me the box right before we left, Your Highness, together with this,” the Protection Officer told her while YN had already put on the left shoe. Chuckling, she accepted the book carefully wrapped in soft tissue paper. She knew which book it contained, so she quickly continued putting on the more comfortable shoes before leaning back and unwrapping the book. The first edition of Pride and Prejudice was her entire pride and joy. YN knew it was kind of posh to carry this particular edition around instead of a cheaper paperback edition, but she only would read in it during the ride and maybe in the line while she waited for her coffee. No one would suspect it for a first edition, only if one had better knowledge about books than the majority of the population.
“Thanks, Egil,” she smiled, and the Swedish giant only nodded softly. “There’s nothing to thank me for, Your Highness.” And with that, he turned back and left the princess reading in silence.
;
Arriving at the comparably empty Starbucks, YN unbuckled while her door had already got opened by Aaron, who had sat in the car following them with two other Protection Officers. Egil slid off his seat and stationed himself between the opened door and the sidewalk, eyes wandering over the few people strolling down the street. She pushed her finger between the pages before climbing out of the SUV and straightened her coat before pushing a blonde curl behind her ear. The book was opened again in her hands because YN knew how this always went: she would leave the car with Aaron and Egil but would have to wait a few more moments until one of the other officers—Matthew was on duty today—had exited the place in question to give them the all-clear.
The happily moving bell announced Matt’s return, and he nodded to the other two officers. “All clear, only a few customers,” he told them, and YN moved without thought; book still opened and nose buried inside it. Aaron jumped forward to open the door, Egil right at her back, and Matt shielded her side from potential harm before he returned to the second car. “Thanks, A,” the princess mumbled, mind deep inside the world of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
“I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.” The words left her lips in a whisper and sighing, her finger stroked over the words, always feeling the wonder over literature as soon as she opened particular books. Pride and Prejudice was one of them.
And maybe it was because she read about the devastatingly romantic endeavors of fictional characters who had a much better functioning love life than the Princess of England ever had. Maybe it was because she always had such bad luck in love and interpersonal relationships ever since growing old enough to have the serious kind of it.
But the universe let her run into a solid chest, her precious book tumbling out of her hands and down to the wooden floor where it laid cover-up.
Suddenly, hectic erupted around her, and Aaron and Egil jumped into action while YN still recovered from the sudden stop. Strong hands were gently wrapped around her upper arms to safe her from following her book to the ground, and the fingers of her right hand had buried themselves into the soft fabric of a pullover out of sheer panic and surprise.
Aaron stepped around and stretched out his hands in order to remove the intruder from the princess while Egil tried to maneuver himself between them and the woman. Blinking multiple times, YN shook off the daze; her eyes wandering over an orange and white striped slip-over, a white and brown plaid shirt underneath until they moved to a handsome face with sharp features, a soft beard shadow covering his chin, cheeks, and the skin over his soft looking upper lip. Sea foam green eyes stared wide and in shock down at her, seemingly still taking in the person he had run into, but YN finally was back in reality as Aaron put his hand on the man’s shoulder.
“I need to ask you to step back, sir,” he spoke up in his most scaring officer voice, and as if the brunette only had noticed the presence of the two looming shadows in immaculate black suits now, his wide eyes moved from her face to the towering Scot. After he didn’t follow the order, Aaron grabbed his shoulder and stared him down with a glare as cold as the North Pole. “I said, I need you to step back, sir,” he stressed his request further, the threat lingering in his tone. Egil cleared his throat to get noticed too, and her collision partner almost paled, his hands slowly letting go off her upper arms, but only after he had made sure with another glance she was steady enough.
“Sorry,” he spoke and raised both hands before he took a step back but bent down to get the book from the floor. He looked up to her as he grabbed the old binding, and Harry still couldn’t wrap his mind around the fact that the Princess of England had run right into his arms. He still wasn’t sure if all of this really happened or if this was a trick of his tired brain. But the grab of one of the suit wearers on his shoulder had been unpleasant enough to make him think that this really is happening to him.
YN stared down at him with just as wide eyes as he paused in his movements and couldn’t comprehend her current reality. Harry Styles crouched in front of her, in a Starbucks store, after she had successfully run him over. Her heart skipped several beats before it started beating in her throat. This wasn’t something usual, not even for the Princess of England.
“Here,” Harry Styles spoke softly after he had raised back to his towering height and held her book in his ring-clad fingers. “Thank you,” she breathlessly whispered but threw her two shadows a warning look. “Everything is fine, Aaron. Egil.” The men nodded shortly but held their gazes settled on the singer, not daring letting him out of their protective sight. YN looked back to the man in front of her, a unsure smile tucking at the corner of her mouth. “I am sorry for that.” It came out almost embarrassed because he obviously didn’t do anything resembling treason or murder. He only had saved her from the embarrassment of meeting the floor with her butt, just like the book had done in her place.
The man with the fluffiest curls she had ever seen only smiled and waved one of his hands lazily. “It’s alright,” he promised before suddenly something seemingly came to his mind. “Your Highness.” And with that, Harry Styles attempted to bow before her, but YN couldn’t have any of that. Gently, she pressed her unoccupied hand and the fist holding her book against his shoulders and shook her head at his confused expression. “Please, don’t do this. I should bow before you.” The princess chuckled. “I mean, I did it often enough in my rooms as a teenager, right in front of a poster of One Direction.” A hand shot up to her mouth and covered it so nothing more embarrassing knowledge would leave it.
And Harry? He stood absolutely stunned there before a soft grin spread over his face—which made him even more handsome in her still unbelieving eyes. But YN didn’t let him utter a single word before pointing over to the staring baristas behind the counter. It wouldn’t have been a surprise if their mouths gaped at the sight of the world’s most famous singer and the Princess of England in their shop. “Would you like to have a coffee? A tea? Something cold? A hot chocolate? After the inconvenience of me running you practically over, it’s the least I can do.” YN was rambling, she knew it but just couldn’t stop.
He made her nervous—as if she wasn’t a grown woman anymore and instead turned back into the insecure teenage girl she used to be (well, even today, she wasn’t the self-confidence in person).
Harry tried to shake his head, but a voice in there screamed to accept the offer to live a few more minutes in her presence. This was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of moment, so he should stretch it as long as possible—not because he wanted the paparazzi to know, but because his former teenager self would kill him if he would run away now. So all he did was slowly nod and instantly patted his shoulder internally because he got to see the most radiant smile he probably had ever witnessed.
Grinning, YN pressed Pride and Prejudice against her chest and suppressed a heavy but blissed sigh at the sight of his growing smile. If she had thought he was irresistible on-screen, she now knew that this assumption was utter bollocks. Harry Styles was even more captivating in reality, face-to-face, and YN almost dreaded the day when he would be in a happy relationship with cats, a wife, and a bunch of kids because it meant she had to bury her crush definitively.
Turning to her protection squad, as she loved to call them, the princess nodded to a table at the halfway point between counter and door. “Why don’t you sit over there until we’re finished? You don’t have to stand around,” the blonde suggested and pointed to a table with a pair of chairs closer to the counter. “You will have the best view of me and the door. Black coffee and a Caramel Frappuccino?” They nodded hesitantly, still not used to the princess's kindness even after years in her service.
As the two went to their assigned table, YN turned back to Harry and smiled up at him. “What would Harry Styles like to have?”

“I still can’t believe I ran into the Princess of England,” Harry laughed softly while walking next to the woman in question, steaming hot coffee in hand. YN grinned up to him, an equally steaming to-go cup in hand while contemplating how she had ended up running into Harry Styles, sharing a table at Starbucks, and now strolling through Holland Park next to him with a second coffee in hand.
This day was definitely something entirely else.
“Believe me. I would have never believed if someone had told me this morning I would meet Harry Styles because I run into him,” the blonde returned and shook her head in utter wonder. The singer gently nudged her to the side. “It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one a tad bashful, just so you know.” YN looked up at him while sipping her sweetened coffee and nodded in agreement. “It takes off the awkward edge of the situation, does it not?”
Harry hummed before turning around for the third time ever since they had left Starbucks to stroll through Holland Park just around the corner. “And they’re at your back every time you leave Kensington or Buckingham?” He dared to ask, and the blonde princess looked over her shoulder as well, where Aaron, Egil, and Matthew walked at a respectful distance but kept their eyes either on her very person or on her surroundings. Even Harry was eyed cautiously from time to time. “Every minute of every day I spend outside Kensington. I am sorry if they make you uncomfortable. And again, sorry for their treatment earlier—they are kind of… quick in their actions when it comes to me.” It still seriously bothered her as soon as she remembered the harsh grip Aaron had used on the man next to her, even though it had been her fault, to begin with.
But Harry only shrugged it off before pushing one hand into the pocket of his coat. “I really don’t mind, and the situation earlier is already forgotten. Really,” he told her with empathy as his eyes had witnessed the unconvincingly furrowed blonde brows. “I only imagine it to be… constricting. I have the freedom to walk around without security when I’m not on my way to shows or interviews and all the stuff, but you…” The princess clearly could see and hear the sympathy of the singer, but she only shrugged with a small smile. “I am used to it—it had always been this way. I can’t remember a moment outside the palace where I didn’t have them trailing behind me. Even during my studies at Oxford.” Now, Harry looked back again. “So… The dark brooding shadow and the light, bright giant always sat behind you in a sea of young adults? Let me guess.” He grinned now, and YN felt her heart beating even faster than it already did. She just had to laugh. “Yes, if you guessed that they had a lot of female admirers trailing behind them, then you are totally right,” the princess chuckled, the memories still very vivid in her mind. The man grinned as well and softly grabbed her hand to steady her as YN kind of stumbled over a bump on the stone path, and both felt their hearts flutter.
“Sometimes I’m too clumsy for this world,” she mumbled behind her coffee cup, and Harry chuckled softly. “Don’t worry, it never shows,” he winked. YN felt the blood rising into her cheeks and hid them in the collar of her coat. “I am glad to hear that. Imagine what Granny would say if she knew that the entire Commonwealth gossiped over their clumsy princess.” She always knew how to change topics involving compliments into a joke. Her family didn’t like that very much. But Harry seemingly caught up to it, judging by the knowing expression settling on his devilishly handsome face. “What does she say about the gossip throughout the country that their princess is a sworn Harry Styles fan?” YN let her head fall back while a laugh escaped her. “She took it surprisingly good. Well, she isn’t a huge fan of me talking to god knows what interviewers, magazines, and newspapers, but she knows my opinion about it and how rarely I change my mind if someone tries to change it—especially if the someone is part of my family. So, naturally, she wasn’t a fan of the entire world knowing the contents of my playlists. But my music preferences never bothered her, and I think she even enjoys some of your songs, but don’t ever mention that to her.” Smirking, YN softly shrugged to end her small monologue. Sometimes she really couldn’t shut her bloody mouth.
Harry laughed under his breath while maneuvering her around the fountain and behind the line of trees to escape a small group of young adults. “I will keep that in mind in case I’ll ever meet the Queen of England. But after today? I won’t say never ever again.” They rounded some sadly-looking bushes—winter should be cursed and banned from her island—before he increased his steps to stop right in front of her. Cocking a blonde brow, YN looked up to him, unsure what this meant. “I think I would’ve known if you ever went to one of my shows.” She hummed, interested in what this would lead to. But now, Harry looked nervous, as if he hadn’t thought this through, but he proceeded anyway after a deep breath. “Would you like to come to one? I could arrange that you won’t be bothered by anyone, save you a spot backstage, block an entire row for you, whatever you want. I just…”
The brunette fell silent, the panic evident in his eyes, and YN just had to think how thoughtful and… lovely he was. “I just thought you’d might like to come, ‘s all,” the singer ended in a lower tone than before, seemingly trying to find a hole in which he could vanish. But YN smiled warmly up to him, and the sight alone eased his rising anxiety tremendously. “Funny thing you mention that. My brothers and papa gifted me a ticket for the London show in your upcoming tour, so… yeah. It will finally happen.” But then, a thought occurred in her mind, and her bright eyes widened. “Could I come to your Fine Line listening?”
Now, he stared down at her with just as wide eyes as she did and felt himself nodding violently. “Yes! Of course! That… that would be great, actually. It’s supposed to be something small and… intimate, so this would be perfect. I… Give me a sec.” With that, he rounded YN with a mission in mind and stepped up to her protection squad. She couldn’t exactly hear what they talked about, but Harry returned with a piece of paper and a pen. He started to scribble something on the white surface as he stopped in front of her and smiled as he handed it over. YN took it, of course, and examined the number and the ‘Harry’ written in pretty handwriting. “You are aware of the fact that I possess and carry around a phone in my pockets?” The princess asked with a smile tucking at her lips, but Harry only shrugged. “I wasn’t sure, and I didn’t want to seem rude in assuming anything.” Her heart fluttered again at his thoughtfulness.
This man simply was a literal angel.
“It’s my private number. You can call or text me whenever you want. The details for the listening event aren’t wrapped up yet, so if you have dates in mind—let me know, yeah? I’d love to have you there because… I don’t know. You are just easy to talk to, and I think you’d enjoy this little get-together with some people to listen to me rambling about my writing and recording process, and me singing, of course, and that sounds so narcissistic, and I’m sorry for that, and…-“
YN stepped closer to him and tapped his lips gently with the white card to make him stop. “You do not have to worry about how you sound because I know you are not a narcissist. You just love what you’re doing. And I would love to see you in your element and talk to your lovely fans because Harries are the best kind of company.” He sighed deeply before taking a deep breath. “Okay.” She smiled up at him. “Okay,” she repeated and took a glance at her watch. “Fuck.” She surprised them both with her small outburst. “I totally forgot the time, but this was probably the best afternoon I had in a very long time.” Harry took her emptied cup out of her hand and threw them both in the bin next to the sadly-looking bush. “I will never forget the story about the Salmon Sandwich Incident,” the brunette told her with a serious look before breaking out into a chuckle, to which she followed close. “Dito with the Cheeto ice cream story.” Another laughing fit caught the pair before YN slowly held out her hand, which Harry gladly accepted.
They stood there for a rather long time, just shaking hands and staring into each other’s eyes, taking in the sight of one another while stressing the moment into infinity. “I have to go,” YN whispered, and Harry nodded. “I know.” But still, he didn’t let go of her hand, nor let she go of his. “I really want to see you again,” he all of a sudden almost burst out even though his brain had told him to keep this wish a secret. But after nearly three hours in her company, Harry couldn’t let her just go without letting her know what he thought. Surprise settled on her face. “You do?” The surprise was even evident in her voice. “Yes, I do. And not just at events or shows, or on the television.” Her breath hitched in her throat, and the princess swallowed dryly and tried to suck enough oxygen into her lungs to answer him properly.
“I’d love that.”

vanityfair “I recently had the most interesting and… and most mind-opening conversation in a very long time. You see, even though there are millions of celebrities out there in the world, there are… I don’t know, differences between some and others. I, for example, can cross the street and get my groceries without security officers behind my back, while others can’t do ordinary things like that—think about it for a second, and you are made painfully aware of the freedom and… and independence you hold. I can’t say it in other words, but I felt privileged when realizing it. Society has to keep that in mind before throwing assumptions through the room because even celebrities are only human.”

↳ royalistsbitch It is possible, but imagine the situation YN is in after her second brother married a “commoner”. She probably has the pressure to marry another royal because her Grandma wants it that way 😩

Returning to Buckingham had been unpleasant. Not because she disliked the palace—she kind of loved it, actually—but because she knew how her Grandma would react after she most definitely had read the articles and assumptions wildly thrown around. Her Granny never really believed what the tabloids wrote, but she still asked every single time her face appeared in one of these ever since that… incident with Lewis Cornwall, son of Nicholas Cornwall, Duke of Hastings and her father’s—former—closest friend. YN knew that she only deeply cared for her youngest granddaughter and always wanted to know her side of the stories circulating through the world before finally going down the drain because something new sparked the tabloids’ interest.
God bless the short attention span of those, the princess thought cynical.
“Her Majesty awaits you in the blue salon,” Harold, one of the many butlers, told her after the blonde had left the car, only two days after her fateful meeting with Harry Styles. With a soft sigh, YN walked up the many stairs, put carpeted hallways behind her, and crossed employees with a gentle smile on her lips and a nod of her head before finally arriving in front of the blue salon. Taking a last deep breath, the princess entered the grand room with the blue wallpapers through the wide-open French doors; her eyes immediately fell onto the white-haired woman sitting on one of the armchairs, signature purse on the coffee table right next to her. A few years back, it had its spot next to her feet, but now, with even more years on her life scale, the Queen opted to have it on elevated places so she didn’t need to bend down anymore.
“Ah, there you are,” the Queen of England greeted her granddaughter, and YN walked over to her, bent down, and pressed a loving kiss to her wrinkled cheek. “Excuse me, Granny. I just got your message and tried to get here as fast as possible,” she explained, but the older woman only dismissed her excuse with a slight raise of her hand. “Nonsense, darling. Only because I scream for attention does not mean you have to rush away from whatever appointment you had to get to your old Grandma.”
Chuckling, YN situated herself on the armchair opposite her and mumbled a silent “Thank you” as Hugh came with the tea. Taking the saucer with the cup of tea on it in hand, she softly stirred through the perfectly brewed Earl Grey with a hint of lemon and a teaspoon of sugar inside. She sometimes preferred milk to lighten the taste a bit, but with her Granny, she always drank it the most British way.
“Am I allowed to take a sip and get a bite of that sandwich, or do you want to get straight to the point?” YN asked with a smile tucking at her lips, and the Queen showed one of her rare grins, specially reserved for her grandchildren and her husband. “I thought I would let you taste the new recipe for the tomato cream first,” Elizabeth returned, and the princess laughed softly before putting down the saucer and the cup and folding her hands in her lap. “No, you can jump straight to the point.”
The Queen sipped on her tea herself before morphing her expression into something resembling seriousness. YN leaned back in the armchair, crossing her legs and elbows resting on the armrests. “I never object your tendencies to wander and stroll around the city, nor do I object your fondness of talking to… interesting magazines like a common celebrity. I fully understand that you belong to a different generation, which handles things differently. But what I have to object to is your contact with said common celebrities.” Cocking a blonde brow, YN waited for her to continue. “A singer, YN,” she almost spat it out as if his profession was something bordering scandalous. All the princess could do was shrug her shoulders. “I don’t see what is so wrong about being a singer for a living, especially if one is a worldwide known and praised artist. He is British, English even, Granny.”
Elizabeth didn’t laugh about it. Instead, her forehead furrowed tremendously, white eyebrows knitted. “This is not something to jest about, YN Diana.” Oh, they had reached the second name dropping. Sighing, YN put both feet on the ground and leaned forward, forearms resting on her knees, confusion visible on her face. “I don’t understand the fuzz about all of it, Grandma. You never objected to my friendship with Meredith or Archie, even after he had given up every single title and started his acting career. Why the sudden change?” The Queen eyed her intently. “Meredith and Archibald are proper associations for a princess.” Now she had lost her entirely. “And Harry Styles is not? The most thoughtful and loveliest man ever in existence is not a proper acquaintance?” Her Grandmother sighed deeply. “You don’t know him, YN, and… look how he dresses. This is certainly not an adequate connection for a princess. You have to think about this family, YN, about your title and position. You are not a commoner, so you cannot behave like one, not if you do not want to end like your…-“
The princess raised jerkily to both feet and let the Queen herself grow silent. “Do not dare to end that sentence how you intended to end it,” she whispered with a strained voice, anger boiling in her body, eyes resting unmoving on the older woman in front of her.
Gladly, Jameson just entered with a bow but stopped at the sight of the standing princess. “I am sorry, Your Highness, I didn’t know you were here. I will return when…-“ But YN shook her head. “No, it’s alright, Jameson. I was on my way out anyway,” she told him with as much grace as she could muster because she felt like screaming and leaving this place running. She spared another glance at her Granny before curtsying just as she had been drilled all her life. “Grandmother,” was all the princess said before leaving the blue salon to return to Kensington, back into the safety of her home.

OUAT AU - Galentines and Valentines
Characters: Liane Felton and Belladonna St James
Mentioned: Ethan Lensherr Long
Category: Fluff and Platonic familial love and hints to possible romance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liane St James had never really hated any holiday before. Even when she was little. There were some she'd found boring or tedious but never any that just made her feel so low. Until of course now, when even the word Valentines felt like someone had put sandpaper on her tongue.
When you've had your heart broken as many times as Liane has, you almost become numb to the notion of romance and true love. She would watch Meredith flirting with McSteamy on Grey's Anatomy and feel nothing, see people kiss on the street and feel empty, and watch Romcoms like a zombie, just barely alive as the cutesy couples flirt and play cat and mouse.
For Bella's sake she still tried to show her love to her daughter on Galentines Day. A day out in town, a meal for two, a present, and Belladonna would accept them all in her usual manner. A slight nod, a mumbled thank you and then she would go back to whatever she was already doing. It still drove Liane a little crazy not being able to read Bella's emotions that well but she knew deep down that her efforts were appreciated.
But now with Bella's father in town, the Mayor wanting her to find dirt on him, information about a coma patient coming to light and so much going on, Liane had no time to plan anything for the 13th. Her head was too full of questions and concerns to even consider a moment for herself. Her world had been shaken up like a snow globe and the dust was still settling.
Tumblr media
Liane was still at the office long after school had let out. She felt awful that Bella would be walking out those doors with no one to greet her but she had deadlines to meet. So wanted to just throw all her papers into a fire but she continued to work, her tightly wrapped hair starting to unravel, layers of her neat suit coming off until she was sat hunched at her desk in just a cami top and pants, furiously typing away and writing as the clock ticked on, pushing her reading glasses onto her nose.
As her work day finally came to a close and the sun began to sink in the sky, painting the clouds orange and pink, Liane gathered herself up and trudged out of the office to her car, running to the supermarket for supplies. It would probably be an oven pizza night. As she entered the store she was bombarded by posters declaring "Show your love for that special someone" and cheesy cards saying "Be mine" in cute lettering with teddy bears hugging on the cover.
Tumblr media
Liane rolled her eyes and grabbed a basket as the realisation hit her. There was no gift for Bella! Frantically she searched through the store for something Bella might like, not wanting to let her down and she finally saw the perfect thing for her dark, gloomy daughter of shadows. She stuffed it in her cart and continued her shopping, starting to take more time picking out what she needed, grabbing a bottle of wine for herself.
"I'm home!" Liane called, opening the door with her foot as she brought in groceries.
"Sorry I'm so late, got held up at the office then went to grab groceries. You here?"
"I'm here." Came the response, calm and collected. Liane sighed in relief. She started carrying groceries to the kitchen and eventually Bella came to help her, putting away cereals and meats in the freezer.
"So how was school?"
"Kids were making Valentines cards. The jokes were unfunny and their messages insincere. I do not plan to send any of course but I doubt I will receive any either."
"Oh honey! Anyone would be lucky to have you as a Valentine."
"Inaccurate. But kind. What's for dinner?"
"Pizza! Listen kiddo I'm sorry I didn't plan a meal or do my cute Valentines sack lunch today. I've really dropped the ball this year. Forgive me?"
Tumblr media
Bella paused and surveyed her tired mother's eyes. She saw the pain in her face, the ache in her throat, the sadness in her eyes. She cleared her throat and spoke.
"I do not need a Valentines nor a Galentines to know you love me. You show you love me every day without sending flowers to my door or writing inane poetry. Your actions speak louder than any cheap box of chocolates or heart shaped sandwich. Love is a feeling, and I know your love is real."
Liane smiled, rubbing her daughter's shoulder kindly. She had raised this girl but that mind was often too smart for its own good. As she let go, Liane remembered the gift she had bought.
"So I know you said all that and I also know you aren't easily impressed but when I saw this thing I just...I thought of you so..Happy Galentines Day, Belladonna."
Liane reached into a large shopping bag and pulled out a soft black mass of stuffed velvet and handed the mass to her daughter. Bella turned the velvet egg shape around in her arms and saw it had a face stitched on it with bright green thread for eyes, black thread for whiskers and a triangular shaped nose, and two soft triangular ears. It was an egg shaped black cat plush toy.
Tumblr media
"I know you said you're too old for toys but I know you still have that old doll in your room and even though it is soft and cute I thought this one matches your aesthetic a bit more and I know that you don't mind hugs that are asked for and wanted so I just-"
"Mom. I love it."
Bella responded, her mouth curving up into a very small smile. She held the plush in her arms and squeezed it very gently. It was soft and warm like her mother's hugs. She looked up at Liane, satisfied.
"Thank you. I will treasure this." She put the plush down and opened her arms to her mother, wanting a hug. Liane's eyes were already filled with tears as she embraced her girl. Instead of rolling her eyes, Bella just let it happen, enjoying the moment.
Tumblr media
Liane had never seen Bella smile like that before and she was overcome with emotion, it was like she had finally done something right in this journey of motherhood. As she felt her daughters arms around her waist she felt a huge weight lifting off her shoulders. Her back had started to twinge but she didn't even care. She had made her daughter smile. And that was all she needed.
Eventually Bella pulled away and brushed herself off, picking up her plush and turning to face her mother, her dark brown eyes serious again.
"Since you have made my Galentines so special, I feel there is something you should know. You can choose not to believe me or you can realise this is fated to happen because its all happened before." Belladonna stated, holding her plush tight.
"What's this about?"
"About your Valentines. You aren't meant to be alone. You may say you are a Girl Boss all you wish but there is someone in this town who loves you and I think you also may have begun to love him."
"Bella?"
"My father. Ethan. He has not said it to your face but he is clearly in love with you. And you have grown to love him despite the fact you are spying on him for The Mayor but that cannot be helped, he is an asshole and you can't refuse him."
"Bella!"
Tumblr media
Belladonna stopped, her gaze fixed on her mother. Liane's cheeks had gone quite pink at this point and her eyes had widened very noticeably. She took her daughter by her shoulders to try and put her mind at ease.
"Sweetie. I- I wouldn't want to- how- that's very sweet, kiddo. But I doubt that. He would more likely hate me if he knew what I was doing. And you're right, I don't like it but I can't refuse the Mayor he's- I can't. But I do want to make you happy so I will stop trying to find dirt on your father if it will make you happy. I'm tired of this anyway, it's eating up my sleep and my time with you. Screw the Mayor. Ethan can do as he pleases in this town. Do you care that he has a record?"
"No."
"Then that's all that matters." Liane finished, smiling at Bella. Belladonna eyed her fairytale book, knowing Liane's actions would have consequences but knew that there wasn't much she could do to predict those just yet. But maybe...she could make sure there was someone to save her.
I know it's a day late but hope you enjoyed!

Hi! Your posts bring me so much joy, I love reading them! How would the inquisition companions react to an inquisitor who is expecting that they will die in the fight against Corypheus? An inquisitor that has fully accepted death, isn't happy about it but doesn't see a way out, and is making their final goodbyes with everyone, because they know that they won't survive this, and that the hero always has to die in the end
Cassandra is no stranger to death. She hails from Nevarra, where death is a common topic of conversation. She has seen death take her parents and she has watched it take her brother. Yet she has never before seen someone so easily give death their hand and allow it into their embrace. That someone being the Inquisitor, no less. Cassandra is terrified. And she is so, so proud. "This is not goodbye forever," she says. "Only goodbye for now." She means it.
Varric knows shitty odds like the back of his hand. What were the odds that he'd survive Corypheus, or Meredith, or even the blasted Thaig his brother trapped him in? It takes courage to face shitty odds and more courage to be realistic about them. Doesn't mean Varric has to be happy about it. Why does the hero always have to die in the end? He can see there's no talking the Inquisitor out of this one, so he says his goodbyes and plans to write a book about a hero, the dangers they face and their very happy ending.
Solas is numb. It's better than feeling anything else. He can't have any regrets about his original intentions with the veil... but that doesn't mean he can't regret the circumstances the Inquisitor finds themself in. And regret he does, but in his own time, in a quiet place that doesn't reflect the fight to come. "Perhaps you may survive this yet," he offers, but his words are hollow and tinged with sadness.
Dorian doesn't know what to say. For a man with many words, he's not often rendered speechless. And it's not like he's not seen this before. Felix was of the same mind... so Dorian offers them a drink. If it is their last hours together, they may as well have fun. And he's going to make damn well sure he cherishes every moment, and to not let his best friend go without a fight.
Sera wants to yell until she's red in the face. Not at the Inquisitor, but at the circumstances that put them in that position. It's not fair. She knows life isn't fair - the people she helps are a demonstration of that. But the Inquisitor, her friend... they've beaten the odds before. They have to beat them again. They have so many more pranks to pull, cookies to bake and precious time to spend together. Fuck Corypheus for taking that away from her.
Blackwall doesn't want to say goodbye. Goodbyes are too final for his liking. Far too final for someone he cares about. So he decides to give the Inquisitor a gift. A good luck charm of sorts, carved from wood by his own hand and delicately painted in the Inquisitor's favourite colours. It's not a goodbye, not really. Just a very fond farewell.
Cole has watched a lot of people die. Some of those people he killed himself. Always they fought against death, clinging onto life like they clung onto his hand. Then Cole moved on to the next person who needed his help, never thinking back, never grieving for the soul that slipped from his grasp. This time is different, and oddly enough he finds himself mourning someone who hasn't even left. He sits with the Inquisitor, says goodbye, and makes sure that they will be remembered... that no one will forget.
The Iron Bull doesn't know what to say. What do you say to someone who's going to die? What does anyone say? 'You will get through this'? A lie. He doesn't lie anymore. And, as Bull is finding out, he hates goodbyes. So he sits there in silence, a mug of ale in his hand, and tells the truth - he's glad to have the Inquisitor with him, here at the end of all things.
Vivienne suspected the Inquisitor would come to this conclusion. They are smart, realistic, and not shy about their odds. It's part of what she likes about them. She sits them down, takes their hands into her own and tells them she is very, very proud of them. "You have taken us further than I could ever have believed, my dear. Thank you for everything... and be safe."

I'M FINE AND I'M DEFINITELY NOT CRYING!
...jk I am very NOT fine and I am DEFINITELY crying. :'( :') :'( :') :'( :')
But AS YOU CAN SEE, it is a mix of happy AND sad tears, so...it's okay!
Kind of...
Sort of...
*SCREAMS*
SCOTT AND LIAM!!!
KATE AND CHRIS!!
SCOTT AND DEATON!!!
STYDIA!!!
SCOTT AND ARGENT!!!
SCILES!!!
SCOTT!!
Literally so much tearing up over here with all of these relationships and how much all of these people care about each other I cannot.
Order of events?? Groupings/pairings? POVs?
Combination of all three.
Except I'm not really gonna go in order of events because I wanna end with Scott's speech, so...mostly groupings/pairings/POVs. XD
ANYWAYS.
STYDIA, oh my god. <3 <3
The fact that Lydia feels so guilty for pushing Meredith over the edge, but Stiles is right there to comfort her, and to remind her that she wasn't alone there, and she isn't alone now.
The fact that, just like always, their combined brain power and abilities finally solves the puzzle, because they finish each other's thoughts and understand each other in a way that no one else does.
The fact that, while Lydia's bansheeing and typing, Stiles just gets right next to her, reminding her that he's there, and providing the comfort and support that she needs (and yes, this is Stydia centric, but don't think I'm just going to IGNORE that, according to Lydia, DEREK'S GONNA DIE. NOT OKAY. PLEASE STOP THAT FROM HAPPENING!).
The fact that they're so quick to analyze and skim and plan their next move once they see the new names (notable names include Satomi, Malia, LIAM, and Meredith...).
The fact that Stiles gets closer to Lydia the second he realizes she's in distress from the phone call so that he can listen in and be there for her (also just the fact that Meredith's dead period is so f*cking sad and I feel so bad for her, and I wish she hadn't felt so trapped that she felt the need to do that, because that's so f*cking awful.).
The fact that she just turns to Stiles in pure shock, and he just pulls her in and holds her, and he doesn't let go, even when all Lydia can do is stand there in horrified shock.
The fact that, no matter what happens, Stiles will ALWAYS be there for Lydia, and he will never let her blame herself, and never let her doubt herself, and never let her give up, because he knows how capable she is.
The fact that, no matter what happens, and what she might say, Lydia will always revel in Stiles's comfort, and she'll always need him, and she'll always love him, and ultimately, she would do anything for him, because she would rather die than lose him.
THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH I CAN'T!
GOD I NEED STYDIA ENDGAME SO BAD!!
I NEED IT I NEED IT I NEED IT!!!
*SCREAMS*
*CRIES*
Okay okay. That was a big ol’ start.
The smaller things.
That tiny little Sciles scene at the end, where Stiles is the only other person that Scott told about the money, and they're both staring at it like they're not sure how they feel about it, but they also know they both need it, and because they're Sciles, they decide that the next best thing to do is count it and go from there. It's such a small thing, but you know me--I take every small Sciles thing I can get. ;)
And then, another small thing: Kate and Chris, OMG. Like, okay, as much as I hate Kate, I kind of feel bad for her and Chris in this situation. No matter what's happened and how much bad has gone down between them, they're still brother and sister, and neither of them really wants to hurt the other. And I don't trust Peter for a SECOND (because why would I?), but I know he's right about the fact that Kate just wants her family back, and despite the code, and despite all the bad that Kate has done, I'm sure Chris wants the exact same thing. And that HURTS, and I'm honestly really hoping for a Kate redemption arc, because I would love to see both of them reunite having grown and learned from their mistakes and maybe finally be on the same side again.
AND THEN SPEAKING OF KATE AND CHRIS!
THE FREAKING BIGGIE!
SCOTT AND ARGENT AND SCOTT AND DEATON AND SCOTT AND LIAM AND FREAKING SCOTT!!
The fact that, after that crazy fight with Kate, Chris's first concern is Scott. And the way he looks at him once he realizes that Violet is dead and they've lost their only lead....
The FACE that Scott makes, so dejected and feeling like a failure because he thinks he's already lost his Beta, but Chris is so determined to convince him that there's still time, and they can still find him.
And then LIAM, trying SO hard to get out, but SO hurt and getting SO tired, and using his last bit of strength to just release that howl ("How do wolves signal their location to the rest of the pack?" "They howl." <3 <3), and Scott HEARS IT!
And the way he turns his head, this new hope that's also filled with concern, because THAT'S HIS BETA.
And they were SOOO far, so you KNOW that he BOOKED it, and he MADE IT, and at the LAST SECOND, when Liam was losing every ounce of strength he had left, Scott GRABBED HIM, and he SAVED HIM!!
And Liam is so scared, and in so much pain, but he just looks at Scott in utter relief.
And Scott is so worried, but there’s relief in his face and his voice, telling Liam he's okay, but also questioning it, because he has to make sure, and the way Liam just looks at him, and Scott just sighs in relief, and repeats it, because they both need to hear it.
And then he PULLS HIM IN, and he holds onto him with EVERYTHING HE HAS, and he just closes his eyes, and convinces himself that he's there, because he ALMOST LOST HIM, but he's OKAY, and he's HERE, and he's OKAY.
AND THEN WHEN THEY FINALLY GET HIM TO DEATON!
AND DEATON HEALS HIM!
AND SCOTT JUST PUTS THAT GENTLE FOREARM ON HIS FOREHEAD TO SETTLE HIM!
AND BRUSHES HIS HAIR AWAY FROM HIS FOREHEAD IN THE PROCESS!
HE CARES ABOUT HIM SO MUCH I CANNOT!
THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH AND HAVE ALREADY BONDED SO WELL AND I JUST--
THIS ALPHA-BETA PAIRING WAS MADE TO BE I SWEAR!!!
I LOVE THEM!!! <3 <3 <3 <3
AND THEN THAT WHOLE SCENE WITH SCOTT AND DEATON AND ARGENT!!
"I don't want to keep watching people die." "I'm not sure you have much choice about that." "Maybe I do." "That's a lot of burden to carry, Scott." "I don't care."
And they're trying SO HARD to convince him that people are going to die, and it's not always his fault, but Scott DOESN'T care.
Because he's SCOTT.
Because he's TRUE ALPHA SCOTT F*CKING MCCALL!
And he will do WHATEVER he has to do not just to protect those he loves, but to protect everyone.
Because he's SCOTT F*CKING MCCALL, and nobody dies on his watch.
And I'm tearing up so much, because that really is such a burden, and there's no way he can save everyone, and my heart is clenching at the fact that he feels like he has to, but it's also filling with so much love and appreciation and respect, because THIS is what makes Scott amazing, and THIS is what everyone loves about him.
THIS is why the McCall Pack is the most loyal pack out there.
THIS is why he's a True Alpha.
THIS is why he's worth 25 million dollars.
THIS is why he's untouchable.
"No one else dies." "I'm gonna save everyone."
You know what, Scott.
Let's do it.
Let's save everyone.
If anyone can do it.
It's you.
And it's the McCall pack.
God, what an ending to an episode.
What a SEASON this has been already!!
I may or may not be able to watch more tonight, but you KNOW I'll be watching tomorrow, because I'm sure it only gets better from here, and I also know that @slice-of-magenta's Sciles scene is in the next episode, so OBVIOUSLY I need to see that, and I just...
THIS SHOW!!
THIS PACK!!!
THESE CHARACTERS!!
THEIR RELATIONSHIPS!!
I LOVE THEM ALL!!
"I'm gonna save everyone."
Let's go save everyone. <3 <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(JUST LOOK AT THEM!!! THEY CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER SO MUCH AND I LOVE THEM I LOVE THEM I LOVE THEM!! <3 <3 <3)

leave, education, kill, wish for riya, maeve and meredith!
muah i place kees on ur nose // oc asks: firsts
LEAVE: What was the first time your OC left home? Why? If they've never left home, do they want to? Where would they go?
RIYA — victor had been killed and she was ((sebastian voice) allegedly) framed for the crime and there were a few too many people eager to make an example of a mage/noble who wouldn't be let off easy this time, so her family broke her ass out of jail, handed her a bag of supplies and told her that she had to get the fuck out of the city until it was all resolved. she wouldn't have made it past city lines if she hadn't gone to beg bastian for help tbh.
MAEVE — when c- 🤢 when card- 🤢 when carden swept her off her feet, right into a carriage that would take her out of white orchard. she was excited about it at the time and later on in life would certainly prefer to never return to that place, but damn. if she doesn’t wish it had been under any other number of circumstances that helped her out of there.
MEREDITH — she has no memories of it because she was far too little, but almost certainly meredith’s first trip was to denerim when she was still a toddler because of some duty or other her father had to maintain. she was definitely one of those babies/kids that was great during travel and she got brought along to most everything because of it.
EDUCATION: What was your OC's first experience with school or education? Were they homeschooled? Apprenticed? Sent away to study? If they didn't have any kind of schooling, where did they learn about the world or pick up the skills they have now?
RIYA — answered xoxo
MAEVE — very basic lessons from her mother while she was still with her parents, learned the fundamentals of reading and writing because fanette couldn't stand the idea of her own child Not having those minimum levels but she also hated being the one to actually teach her. after her move to vizima, carden would have thrown all kinds of tutors her way so that she would be a Presentable and Proper Lady when he took her places. if there's one good thing that man ever did for her it was providing the resources to make her one of the most knowledgeable ladies around in his haste to up her intelligence score, i suppose. she also developed a very lovely handwriting style due to a particularly detail-oriented tutor. she absolutely could not stand the woman who taught her politics of the continent but no amount of complaining had her sent away smh
MEREDITH — she would have had multiple tutors and trainers i’m sure, being the daughter of the second most powerful family in the kingdom lmao. perhaps more lonely of an education than she would have liked as her brother was already in his studies and she wasn’t sent to learn with the other children in the castle, but she excelled nonetheless. i actually think she would have really liked the historian we saw in the cousland origin, old ass aldous who tutored the kids of the castle and surely taught meredith her histories aka one of her favorite subjects.
KILL: When was the first time your OC killed someone? How did they feel about it then, and do they still think about it now? If your OC has never killed before, would they? Under what circumstance?
RIYA — answered xoxo
MAEVE — we've stumbled across a rare maeve question i don't think has been considered, at least in default witcherverse. it would happen a few years into her time traveling with witchers, and likely while with one of them because that's when she's in the most danger (usually). she'd be fucked up about it no doubt. the panic to wash herself clean, the guilt over ending a life, the fear she could have torn apart a family somewhere, the stress of her own life being disrupted by a constant reliving of the entire event. you know, all that fun stuff she didn't sign up for. give it a few years and she'll probably still be sad about it, some amount of guilt will always linger because her heart is so gentle, but her own life experience and learning that of others will have helped her come to terms with it. (especially because it was likely in some sort of defense??? i don't see her just popping up on the kill feed for fun)
MEREDITH — when homegirl opened her bedroom door to find one of howe’s men standing there with a weapon drawn and she was forced into immediate combat. panic is all she felt then, and a rising anger the further she and her mother pushed into the castle during their search for bryce and an escape. she has never felt guilt for that first kill—or the dozen or so that came after it that night—because they displayed no guilt for the murders they took part in and showed no mercy in going after her next, but flash-forward some years and she feels a sorrow over it all having taken place. it wasn't fair to have such horrors forced upon a young girl who had done nothing wrong, merely had a father who perhaps needed to reevaluate his friendships more often 🤷‍♀️ sorry bryce that was uncalled for, you're already dead about it lmao
WISH: What's the first thing your OC ever wished for or wanted? Do they still want that, or have their desires changed? If so, what changed them? If not, how far would they go to fulfill their wish?
RIYA — i mean, for two decades i’m sure all her wishes were dumb as hell because she was a spoiled, sheltered girl. wishing her birthday celebration would be bigger than the last each year, wanting a new dress in the style of one she saw at a gala or smth, etc etc. her first genuine wish would have come during her time on the run, curled up next to bastian, wishing with a desperation that she'd never felt before that they could just go home.
MAEVE — any answer i think of is sad as hell. i imagine that the earliest thing she can remember wanting so terribly would be the approval of her parents because it always seemed Just out of reach. if she tried hard enough on the next task then she’d get the pride and affection she craved! surely that’s true!! it wasn’t tho, we know that. the only memory maeve has of her mother looking at her with pride was on that day carden took her away, which was a comfort for a few years while she still believed she’d finally done something good enough in their eyes. but then the “wait, she was just happy that i Sold To A Man for a fantastic price” reality hit and she’d do anything to forget that final day together.
MEREDITH — probably something cheesy like wanting to one day be like her father. the desire changed a bit over time, though not by much, spurned on by her witnessing too many moments of people being treated horribly because of how they were born. she wished to one day hold enough power and influence to make changes for good in the world, to care for others and make their lives better. historians and scholars are gonna debate for who knows how long about what schemes she enacted to take that power but like. it was right there. sitting out in the open. was she Not supposed to take it? c'mon now 🙄

I have nothing to currently watch, so yeah I went back to Grey's Anatomy. I didn't finish it and the cast has a funny scenes. I don't need to explain myself.. but I will 😭
☆: I watched Calliope downfall 😭 unfortunately and I hated what her character became. She used to be so fun. She's a shell of what she once was.
☆: Stephanie grew on me, I didn't care about her during my season 1 to season 10 watch, she's such a fun character and I love how she's everyone's favorite resident. She made season 13 very enjoyable for me.
☆: I feel I had nothing really to say about Owen and Amelia, I don't like either character. I felt bad none of her family showed up to the wedding.
☆: the dead Derek jokes were funny.
☆: I didn't really cry for Derek, I cried for Meredith losing her husband, and people losing their friend. It was more so teary-eyed, then actual crying.
☆: Maggie losing her mom was sad.
☆: found out about the beef with Nathan, Meredith and Maggie. Maggie said she liked him, but by the time she told Meredith, Meredith had already slept with Nathan multiple times. They should have been adult about it and just been like we had a thing, instead of having Maggie looking stupid.
☆: The April and Jackson episode that shows their beginning and end was sad. I didn't expect that for their story. I'm pretty eh to both characters like April is an amazing doctor and I love when she yells at people.
☆: I already spoke somewhat about it, but Alex beat the fuck out of Andrew, like so much so that he could have lost his eye sight, and the characters felt bad for Alex?? Not the young student that was there to learn. Yes, these actors look the same age, but the character is younger then Alex and should have been protected. Yes. Alex assumed the worst however Jo told him to stop and Andrew wanted to explain.
☆: I haven't reached that season yet, but I don't get how Andrew would date Meredith after that. She's the ride or die for the man that almost went to jail for beating the fuck out of you.
☆: She should have dated Link..
☆: kind of fucked up how they killed both of Meredith love interest off. I hope she's not experiencing any sort of trauma from that.
☆: I enjoyed season 13 for Stephanie Edward's, she is the best resident. She reminded me of Christina the most. She focused on the work. Ben and Jo always had something else going on so they weren't always 100%
☆: Ben was annoying for not realizing the privilege he gets for being the chiefs husband.
☆: the old man jokes about Ben are so funny.
☆: He does a lot though, on greys anatomy and station 19 like chill.
☆: as much as I liked Nathan and Meredith, I get that the Meredith’s actress did not and I understand why they had Megan come back.. though I think it’s weird they made her get back with Nathan just to have them break up again.
☆: I feel like Maggie doesn’t get that even though Meredith is her sister, she’s not entitled to everything. Like when That Andrew| |Alex thing happened and Meredith said she didn’t know anything about it . It makes sense that Meredith wasn’t going to tell Maggie the person who had a thing with Andrew, what went down. Because I don’t think she has any really strong ties with anyone at the hospital especially not Alex. so obviously she wasn’t going to protect him from the cops.
☆: everyone is getting therapy but Owen… Alex could probably also use some
☆: how many times has Owen been married? Like 5?!? He needs to quit being a doctor and go find himself somewhere else. He needs to stop marrying doctors.
☆: it’s kind of weird, Maggie and Jackson don’t try to be like “we’re family.” Or anything. I mean Maggie calls Amelia for sister but then there’s nothing for Jackson. Like for Jackson this is his first sibling. I know the show is setting them up and them saying anything or even almost sorting alluding to the fact that they’re sort of siblings aka family is gross. Like they’ve been step siblings for two seasons and yet here they are episode 23 season 13 talking about sex. I’m just so uncomfortable. If Jackson and his mom both die and then Richard dies, does Maggie not get the Avery empire? Or does Richard have to legally claim her for that? Also none of the cast has teased them about being siblings..
☆: with Meredith she was like “I’m your sister. Pick me. Choose me.” And with Jackson it’s like 🤷🏾‍♀️😍
☆: if anyone on Grey’s Anatomy deserved a hero episode, I’m glad it went to Stephanie. She deep fried a r*pist. Saved herself and a little girl. Good 4 her.
☆: I wish they showed more of Nathan and April’s friendship.
☆: I’m happy with the ending Stephanie got but I wish she would have at least finished her residency. She was almost done and now all that hard work is gone. Unless are they allowed to pick up where they left off?
I said I wasn’t going to watch anymore yet here I am. Stephanie became a favorite character. I only watched season 13 for her episodes in all honesty.

Grey's Anatomy: Wedding Bell Blues/Happily Ever After (19x19/20)
Oh goodness. There are a lot of things about this that I really goddamn hate, but... plenty I loved, too!
Cons:
Jo and Link. Look, I'd honestly love to feel differently about this. It sucks to have a character like Link, who I used to greatly enjoy, turn into someone that I just don't want to spend time with anymore. I liked Jo and Alex, and I liked Amelia and Link. I have never once thought these two worked as a romance. And when they had their big love confession and kiss in the rain moment, I honestly felt nothing. Total numbness and boredom. Plus, Link seemed like such an insensitive jerk about Jo flirting with her patient, Sam. Just grow up and get over yourself, dude.
Simone and Lucas is great and I'll compliment the drama later, but I still think Trey should have... existed as a character more leading up to this point. It was such a non-choice, such an obvious conclusion. I would have liked a bit more wedding shenanigans, and a bit more of an understanding of who Trey is as a person, in order to enjoy this more fully.
Meredith and Nick... I knew I was going to be annoyed about it, and I was right. At least we see Meredith having her own goals and passions in Boston, but my god, that whole apology to Nick, and wanting to build something with him, was just so joyless and boring to me. I just don't think he's an interesting character, and I never, ever have.
For the most part, I am all for Bailey getting that award, but it did feel sort of weird from the outsider perspective, like... the people who are not personally friends with Richard Webber or Catherine Fox or Miranda Bailey have to be sitting there like... wait a minute. They just arranged this whole nice little surprise for their personal friend? The Catherine Fox award is named after Catherine Fox, a woman who is married to Miranda Bailey's long-time friend and mentor. I'm not saying she doesn't deserve this accolade, of course she does! I just couldn't help but think of the people who aren't in this clique, wondering how fair this really is.
It remains to be seen what will come of Teddy, but yikes, if they actually kill her just when she was starting to become vaguely tolerable to me (due to reduced interactions with Owen), I'll be pissed. So unnecessary, Grey's.
Also: sorry, but Richard maybe having another relapse and drinking again is just boring to me at this point. I feel like whenever they run out of things for Richard to do in the story, they either bring back Catherine's cancer, or they have him drink again. Enough already.
In the category of things I wish we could have seen, I was a little sad that we didn't get some sister time with Amelia, Meredith, and Maggie. Especially as a wrap-up on this season for Amelia, who has been undergoing these feelings of abandonment.
Pros:
Jo learning ASL, yay! She's simcoming, which basically means she's signing and speaking at the same time, meaning her grammar has some issues, but it's still so cool to see that on the show, and I hope it continues.
Despite my feelings of clique-i-ness with the whole Catherine Fox award thing, I did think it was enormously sweet and empowering that Bailey got the award for her work in training people on abortion care. This show has never been afraid to go political, and it was such a nice capstone to a season where Bailey had to suffer so much harassment and pain. I did think about Addison, though: surely the award should have been jointly granted to her as well, for the same reason? Meredith giving that speech, Ben showing up last minute to support his wife, Bailey's surprise about it all... very moving and sweet, indeed.
It could be a cool way to keep Meredith connected to the show with intermittent appearances, this idea of her new breakthrough in Alzheimer's research, something that flies in the face of all understanding in the field, including Derek's research. She's going to be off doing science things, trying to get funding and keep hold of her reputation as she shakes things up, and she can pop up once or twice a season to update us on the chaos of her life. I like this for her. Drama, but not drama we need to be constantly paying attention to. I can imagine her working hard and becoming even more of a legend, and taking care of her kids, and living her life.
Also, in the interest of being entirely fair, I will clock one moment of Nick that I did enjoy. When Meredith tells him that the guy he found at her house is the kids' tutor, who also happens to be gay, his response is a frankly adorable, childish, "really?" Which I thought was sweet. Glad that Meredith hadn't randomly started dating someone new so quickly after settling in Boston, although to be honest whoever else she might have picked would probably be more interesting than Nick! Sorry!
I was surprisingly cool with the way they did the Maggie/Winston thing? At first I was annoyed, like, great. They're just going to fall into bed together and perpetuate the confusion and pain? But then they talked at the award event, and they had this gentle conversation about the potential for their future. Should they get divorced? Is that the best thing for both of them? I like how earlier, when they were on the plane, Winston defended himself and Maggie to Amelia, saying that it wasn't either of their faults alone that their relationship had taken this turn. That's some nuanced understanding of the situation, and I enjoyed it.
The plane thing was kind of ridiculous, over the top turbulence making all the doctors fear for their lives momentarily. It's the kind of thing we know for a fact Grey's is willing to pull, but I didn't really think the plane was going to go down, not with so much else the episode was trying to grapple with. But I did begrudgingly kind of enjoy Amelia and Winston holding hands, that was a nice little beat. And Bailey gets MVP once again for knocking the drink out of Richard's hand.
Back at the hospital, we've got all sorts of stuff going on. I continue to be impressed by how much the new crop of characters and their drama appeals to me.
First you've got Yasuda and Helm, going on an adorable date to Simone's wedding, kissing and giggling and problem-solving together when the flowers don't arrive for the ceremony. I loved seeing how sweet they were together. I'm sure next season will bring them their fair share of drama, as Helm is now Yasuda's boss, but seeing Mika running at full capacity, having enough sleep to do her job well, and seeing Helm so happy at the successful start of this new romantic relationship, and new chance at her dream career, was such a balm! They're pretty fun.
Simone leaves Trey at the altar, of course. Literally she's already started walking down the aisle when she decides she can't go through with the wedding. That's pretty rough. We learn how much she's doing all of this because of her long-dead mother, and when she learns that her mom met her dad after being engaged to someone else, she realizes her intended husband isn't the man for her. She and Lucas immediately fall into bed together, he literally helps her out of her wedding dress, which is just the kind of juicy soap opera goodness we love to see on this show.
Of course, things go bad when Trey shows up after getting in a minor car accident, and punches Lucas in the face when he realizes that he was a factor in Simone leaving. Simone talks to him and says, basically, that regardless of Lucas, marrying Trey isn't what she wants. I liked that they addressed that what Simone did hurt people. Trey and his family, Lucas... they all got caught up in Simone's indecision and struggles. It's a rough move, doing what Simone did, but the alternative being marrying someone you don't want to be with is, of course, worse.
Blue was a serious highlight for me of this episode! First there was his utter bad-ass moment of helping save a kid, and then bridging the language barrier (the mother and son spoke Spanish), and stopping CPS from getting involved. It turns out that the little boy Enzo ingested drugs that were left behind by a prior visitor to the hotel, not given to him by his mother. And then after that, he has a much less bad-ass moment, where he intubates Max when she suddenly starts to code, specifically violating her DNR order. It ends up in a situation where it's too late to go back and un-do what he's done, so they keep her alive, and Jules, with her medical proxy, is now going to be in the position of making decisions for her. Luckily, Max wakes up and they explain that she had a temporary thing going on and that she won't have to keep being intubated. Basically, Blue did a bad thing, took a huge risk, and it did pay off... but Jules's anger is completely justified. And what Blue did was a serious violation of medical ethics.
This is the kind of twisty dilemma that we love to see. It gave me early Grey's vibes for sure, Blue reacting with too much emotional instinct, his feelings of tenderness towards Jules, his own feelings about his mother coming into play... and Jules hating him for his decision but also loving him for saving her favorite person. I'm very into seeing where this goes from here.
And then... oh my god. Despite how much I will be annoyed if they kill Teddy, I will admit the very end of this episode hyped me up in a way Grey's hasn't managed to do in a very long time. Sam, the patient who has been flirting with Jo, ends up suddenly in distress and rushed to the OR. Teddy is the only attending in the room, and along with Yasuda and Lucas, and they're getting ready to do a life-saving emergency surgery. When suddenly... Teddy collapses. She's been having tooth pain for a while, but that's been our only hint that something was wrong with her at all. Our other attendings are scattered to the winds: at Boston, or making out in rainy alleyways, or whatever. So as Yasuda drops to the ground and starts trying to tend to Teddy, Simone shows up and along with Lucas, the two of them try to save Sam on the table. Owen is fetched by someone, and runs into the operating room to see a patient bleeding out on the table, the floor drenched in blood, and his wife on the floor, entirely nonresponsive.
Drama! I don't like Owen, but even I'm not heartless enough not to feel for him as he collapses to the ground and tries to wake Teddy up. What the heck is going to happen from here? I was getting Schmitt flashbacks, seeing that patient on the table, an attending coming into the room to see what his students hath wrought in his absence, but like... what were they supposed to do? This is some juicy stuff, and I'm looking forward to seeing the aftermath of it all whenever we get back to this show. Given the writer's strike, we may have a longer wait time than usual, but that's not the writers' fault!
In all, these final two episodes were truly a mixed bag. I am so annoyed about Jo and Link. I still strongly dislike Nick. But the drama that I enjoyed most was the stuff with our younger crop of characters, and I think that bodes well for the show's longevity!
7/10

Top 10 favorite Grey's Anatomy characters
These aren't ranked but just off the top of my head.
Cristina Yang, as a young girl she was a reminder that women could and should be ambitious and she also made me question the need to have the cookie cutter married with kids life style.
Callie Torres, the moment she hit my screen I couldn't get over how sexy she was. When I finally reeled my crush in I really enjoyed her, she was done wrong by many of characters but I always liked her.
Maggie Pierce. I have no idea why so many people hate her character and maybe after a rewatch I may understand it but I still enjoy Maggie and I've always wanted to see what they do with her.
Lexie Grey, she was a sweetheart and wanted to be a good surgeon and she wanted to be happy and helpful and I'm still sad at the way she went out.
Arizona Robbins, Arizona before the crash was one of my favorite characters on the show. She was bubbly and sweet and her introduction was the reason we finally got some gayness on the show and we watched her go into an awesome new vocation and she was so sweet and those damn Heelys won me over.
Jackson Avery, he was the only I really liked when the hospital merged/takeover and I was happy he lived through the shooting that eradicated all of his other fellow residents. I loved his friendship/mentorship with Mark which carved out a new portion of the hospital. He made a lot of mistakes especially in his love life that I'm not a fan of but I still think overall he's one of the better characters on the show.
Andrew Deluca, he was bilingual, gorgeous, and most of all kind. RIP
Addison Montgomery. I am putting on my blinders and pretending Private Practice isn't a thing and just going to remember her as Grey's character who was complicated but real and I just enjoy her.
Lauren Riley, I know there is almost nothing on her but the little we got was great and my biggest annoyance is that we have gotten NIL since. BRING HER BACK!
Cormac Hayes. I know he was brought in as a potential love interest/eye candy even though he was basically none of those things but I still really liked him. He took over the spot that Karev had been for Meredith and I hate that the other characters BS is the reason he's not there anymore. I would trade him for Owen. I also really appreciated his relationship with Megan and I feel like he and Deluca had so much more to offer.

Professor Birthday Isn't Famous Episode 4 "TEEN" Thoughts
So, no fun, silly guests this week. But If you can't tell by the way this blog low-key turns into a Brian Holden fan page anytime I watch something he's in, I love me some Brolden. I think he's a comedic tour-de-force, overall delight, and just the bees-freaking-knees. So any episode that allows him to go nuts for an entire 13 minutes will be right up my alley.
And what a thirteen minutes it was!
I loved how the dynamic between Fritz and Professor Birthday turned completely inside out. Fritz has always been the patient-but-slightly-exasperated voice of reason to Professor Birthday's head-in-the-clouds emotional impulse, so it was super fun to see them swap roles. Professor Birthday is such a great character, and getting to see her operate as the sole responsible party and handle a serious situation with a professional competence really showed off another side of her. We got to see why, for all her eccentricity, she's the person who keeps Birthday University up and running. And the reveal that Fritz is secretly also a bit of a loose cannon who acts on impulse (really, Fritz? Eating mysterious chemicals??) and writes music adds a lot to him as well.
Speaking of, I've been thinking about the clip in Meredith Stepien's Professor Birthday vlog in which Jade (Eric Kahn Gale's wife) says she's sad because she thinks Fritz is genuinely in love with Professor Birthday, and Brian immediately agrees. Listening to this episode, and thinking about the larger context of the show (Fritz's endless patience, dedication, and passion for this trying podcast in which he plays a thankless role), that conversation makes a lot of sense. Poor buddy.
But the music! This is our first episode in which Professor Birthday herself doesn't sing, leaving Fritz to take center stage. And "I'm In Love With My Boss" is an absolute banger. Clark nailed that genre of pop-rock with parodic perfection and I knew exactly what we were in for from the very first second (the opening is very "Stacey's Mom"). It might not be the most intricately composed song in the soundtrack (God, I hope they release a cast album), but it might be the one I end up listening to the most. Trust me, guys. It's an absolute blast to head-bang to and sing along with, even if you don't actually love your own boss. And the choral version at the end is super fun too!
You know, I always find these sorts of portrayals of teens to be slightly overwrought. I've always been very good at staying outwardly calm and collected when around other people, and don't feel like I was any worse at that as a teen than I am as an adult. However, the joke about teens making art that's way less subtle and clever than they think it is hit home so hard that it instantly overcame any other misgivings.
I also liked that Brian's voice actually got a little deeper, instead of going for the squeaky teen-boy voice breaks. That choice really allowed the emotion Fritz was feeling to come though.
So, yeah, another banger of an episode! Like Professor Birthday herself, my only real, substantial complaint is that we didn't actually get to talk about birthday phone calls with extended relatives. Please, Eric, I would love to hear your take on those awkward societal observances. I hated them as a kid.
Quote of the episode: "Whatever feelings you might or might not have, just... repress them! :)". Professor Birthday, keeping it real about adulthood as always.

Ranking The Tortured Poets' Department Songs:
Complete Album Average Score: 8/10
My Score (complete album): 8.5/10
Fortnight (feat. Post Malone) 4/10. Not my thing. Didn't like that "one synth note playing in the background with almost nothing else" Skipped out towards the end because I got bored.
The Tortured Poets' Department: 6/10. Loved it. So fun! A little upbeat for a song called "The Tortured Poets' Department" though.
My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys: 7/10. Gave me Reputation vibes. Reminded me of "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things"
Down Bad: 8/10. If it was sapphic, this would be the ultimate Pippa/Onnie song, because I can't help but make things about my OCs.
So Long, London: 10/10. My favorite song on the album so far. Peak Taylor Swift in my opinion.
But Daddy I Love Him: 8.5/10. Didn't leave that much of an impression on me, but it was good. A great track to listen to while driving down the freeway.
Fresh Out The Slammer: 9/10. EVERMORE VIBES FUCK YES. This is what I was hoping for from TTPD.
Florida!!! (Feat. Florence + The Machine): 10/10. After the disappointment of the original version of Snow on the Beach, this was... everything. I love Florence + The Machine, I love this.
Guilty as Sin?: 8/10. I was originally going to rate it much lower, but the bridge managed to convince me. My religious trauma ass was like "Is Taylor Swift comparing herself to Jesus? SLAY. SLAY!!!!"
Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?: 9/10. I love this. Peak Taylor Swift. The paranormal metaphors were on point, and this is definitely going on my OC Meredith's playlist.
I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can): 7/10. I really liked this one, but it reminded me too much of my ex-girlfriend, so it hit a little too close to home for me to truly enjoy. Maybe in a few years, I'll be able to.
loml: 6.5/10. Far too sappy for me. Maybe if I listened to it in a more romantic mood (especially so soon after having a bad taste in my mouth from my ex), I'd like it better. Might listen again later.
I Can Do It With a Broken Heart: 8/10. So Mecore. I love the tonal dissonance of the honestly depressing lyrics and the cheery, upbeat music. I feel you, Taylor. Repressing emotions! Yay!
The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived: 7/10. Despite the lower rating, I actually really liked this one. It's a biting diss track, set to relaxing piano music. What could be better?
The Alchemy: 7/10. It's cute, but didn't really stick with me. I don't really have that many thoughts about this one.
Clara Bow: 9/10. I actually really like this one. It's so peaceful, yet somewhat bittersweet. This one left me with good feelings overall.
The Black Dog: 8.5/10. The bridge is the part that really sold this for me.
imgonnagetyouback: 6/10. Idk, this one didn't really do it for me. I don't really even know why. Hypothetically, it gives off the vibes of something I'd like, but it wasn't my thing.
The Albatross: 10/10. Peak Evermore vibes. Loving it.
Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus: 9/10. I really hope this song wasn't autobiographical. It was really sad, and I'd hate for something like that to happen to anyone.
How Did It End: 10/10. Actually cried during this one. I think that explains enough.
So High School: 7.5/10. Loved the guitar on this one. It was fun, but personally, I prefer the more relaxing folksy vibes.
I Hate It Here: 8/10. "I'd say the 1830s but without all the racists And getting married off for the highest bid". Literally the best lyrics ever. Freaking hilarious, especially on such a melancholy song.
thanK you aIMee: 7.5/10. As someone who was bullied in school, this song really hit hard. Like, hell yeah, Taylor, tell her what's what.
I Look In People's Windows: 9/10. First of all, please don't, it's illegal, but I really felt this song. Loved it so much. I know it's about a relationship but let's be real the queer autistic part of me knows that "outsider looking in, longing to be part of the group".
The Prophecy: 10/10. Again, this one made me get misty. The other best track on the album.
Cassandra: 9/10. Peaceful, but with that quiet, cold rage that Taylor just manages to evoke so perfectly. So good.
Peter: 7.5/10. Ooh is this a reference to Peter Pan? The piano line kinda reminds ms me of Piano Man by Billy Joel at parts.
The Bolter: 7/10. It's good, but nothing about it really managed to stick with me.
Robin: 8/10. I only realized halfway through that that this is a song about a kid. I thought it was about her cats. Good song either way. Half a point was deducted because she hasn't written a song about her cats yet.
The Manuscript: 9/10. A great conclusion to the album! It hurt like a bitch, but I don't care!

greys worst couples? rank em
Omg lol hope I don’t start anything with this answer haha! Also this was surprisingly hard bc I have like a general dislike for a lot of couples lol and I hate them all for very different reasons
(This is best of the worst to worst of the worst so like 11 is my least fave)
1. Arizona and Eliza. This is funny bc it also ranked quite highly in the ‘rank the non-calzona calzona ships’ list. It’s a confusing one for me bc Arizona was hot as shit in this pairing. Like damn. But, I also hated Eliza, she was a bad character and she was also kinda badly acted. And I hated the whole ‘Arizona is going for this person despite the fact that everyone hates her and she is literally the worst just because like, she told her she was hot?’ thing. Idk it was just a bad couple. But the best of the worst bc Arizona’s vibes in that elevator scene? Top notch
2. Addison and Derek. This may be controversial as I know a lot of people like them. And it’s not that I dislike them that much bc they had quite a fun dynamic if you discount all of the shit. The issue is, all of the shit (lol). Derek was just such a twat to Addison stringing her along when he clearly wanted to because with Meredith. It was just such a dick move bc he just like had some weird moral high horse that he had to sit on for no goddamn reason. And he took it out on both Addison and Meredith and that was just gross. Big no. Of course also the fact that Addison cheated on him in the first place is pretty bad news so like, you know how it is. But like, we didn’t see that on the show really. All we saw was him and his damn moral high horse making her feel like shit. So, yano.
3. Amelia and Owen. I dislike all of Owen’s relationships because I dislike him intensely. This one was probably the least worst bc they were both pretty shitty to each other throughout it, so it like half cancelled each other out. Still sucked though. Not a vibe. I don’t hate them as friends though like it’s eh whatever.
4. Cristina and Burke. I didn’t really dislike either of them as characters - I love Cristina and Burke was annoyingly up himself but I didn’t hate him that much. However, their relationship sucked ass. It was just them both projecting their ideal partner onto each other when neither of them were actually vaguely near what that ideal partner was. They were just so fundamentally bad for each other, it just didn’t work. And because of that it was really annoying to watch.
5. Callie and George. Fucking George man. I could write an essay on this but I won’t, I’ll keep it short. Callie just wanted to be loved, so bad she was chasing someone who would never love her the way she deserved. George was just so insecure he let Callie love him for his own ego and was never strong enough to tell her that he didn’t feel the same. It was just so sad to watch bc I want to wrap poor Callie up in a blanket and tell her it’ll be fine. Also the show did Callie so dirty in this era god. I’ll forever be salty about that (but again I won’t go into detail here)
6. Jackson and Maggie. God they just made me so uncomfy? Like, even without the fact that they were step siblings (which just made the whole vibe weird af), they just did not go well together at all. I can’t even properly explain it. I just remember really deeply disliking it.
7. Cristina and Owen. Second worse Owen relationship. They were ok at times, but they were also just quite shit for each other. He needed someone that would care for him, and she wasn’t ever gonna be that person. Also the fucking baby plotline god I hated it with every ounce of my soul. The way Owen acted towards Cristina for not wanting kids like she was some kind of monster made me mad. The only way it could have been worse was if she’d caved (but that would have been so ooc). I just hate the whole miscommunication thing, it’s such an overused plot point in greys. Just have your characters speak to each other, please!
8. Izzie and George. Just the idea of them together makes me cringe so hard. It was just so gross and awkward and ew. And that’s without the fact that George cheated on Callie in this situation. Again, could write an essay but won’t, I’ll just leave it at big ew vibes nasty nasty
9. Callie and Penny. Ok these last three are tied last ngl. I ranked them like this bc I suppose if I had to I would, but I hate them all for very different reasons so it’s hard to pick one. Callie and Penny I just hated mostly bc the chemistry between them was so fucking shit. I’ve gone into loads of detail on this before so I won’t elaborate but I did not enjoy it. Then is the fact that Callie is going around rubbing how in love she is in Arizona’s face is just ew. Of course I’m always gonna hate the relationship that comes after calzona, but this one was particularly bad.
10. Teddy and Owen. I didn’t even watch much of them being together, but god I hated it. I just hated the way Teddy spent the whole show pining over him. Like, that could have been a usable plot point sure, if a) it wasn’t strung out and then kinda ditched and then brought up again and then ditched and then brought up again etc etc and b) Owen wasn’t such a fucking rat. Also just the notion that ‘it’s always been Owen’ even after Henry existed made me fundamentally angry bc Teddy and Henry were so cute together. Teddy just deserved infinitely better than endlessly pining over damn Owen. Also when Teddy came back to greys she was kinda weird idk it wasn’t a vibe. I didn’t watch enough of it to have an opinion but for me the real Teddy is the OG Teddy and her best romance was Henry.
11. Arizona and Leah. It feels a bit dramatic of me to put this at the bottom idk. And they don’t really even count as a couple. But the way watching their fling play out made me feel was by far the worst. At least with Penny it was like, this makes sense and also is a logical point in calzona’s messy relationship thst she’d exist. Whilst I do understand why Arizona went for Leah at the time (she wanted to be wanted so bad and went for someone the opposite of Callie and also self sabotages - I’ve talked about this before), I really really didn’t like it. All of the sexual harassment stuff whilst valid from Leah’s side was just so uncomfy to watch. I just hated it so so so much. Big big bad vibes. Ugh.
Ok that’s my ranking. I hope I haven’t offended anyone too much! Please share your thoughts!!
(Also whilst researching greys couples for this to see if I forgot any I saw an article claim that calzona are only the 17th best couple on the show out of like 30!!! Like hello how rude!!)

Thoughts on Grey’s Anatomy: 18X01
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
I was really excited for the Premiere and I have never been so disappointed in my life. It took me a few days to write this review because I’m just so unimpressed. I feel like the only interesting parts of the Season 18 Premiere were the Meredith and Hayes FaceTime call, Levi in that outfit and Jo with that hair, and the interviews. That's it. I mean Teddy and Owen’s two weddings were interesting if you’re a Teddy and Owen shipper, but I never have been so that didn’t really do anything for me.
The pacing of the episode was super slow and it was just altogether boring. There were also just so many inconsistencies. For example, Teddy and Owen originally planned to get married at the park with just Megan, Farouk, Evelyn, Leo, and Allison which doesn’t make sense because prior to their break up they were talking about planning their dream wedding. Now they finally get married and Richard didn’t even know about it? They asked Megan to fly in, but they didn’t tell their friends at the hospital after they just all attended Maggie and Winston’s wedding two weeks earlier?
It’s also not clear if Meredith knows that they got married which is weird because she’s the main character of the show and was an integral part of Owen’s previous two weddings one of which was held at her house. Also, Amelia and Link weren’t there and it’s not clear if they even knew about the wedding which is weird because Meredith, Amelia, and Link were all present when Owen proposed to Teddy at Christmas at Meredith’s house and they are all co-parenting Leo together.
While I appreciated the shift to a lighter tone and that they chose to have this season exist in a post-COVID alternative universe where we can see the actors faces again without the PPE and return to escapism the Premiere didn't pack the punch I was expecting. The premieres are usually super shocking and action packed and this one just wasn't. It was just boring and all of the most interesting stuff happened off camera during the two weeks between the Season 17 Finale and the Season 18 Premiere which is just stupid.
I saw the priest getting hit by one of the cyclists coming a few minutes before it happened based on the promo and the context of the scene and there wasn't a big shocking event like there usually is. The pace of the Premiere really felt off to me. My friend Amy who I watch with every week described it as the pacing you usually associate with a nice stroll through a moonlit garden. Fine for episode two or three or a connecting episode but not the Premiere. I feel like they really misjudged what fans were looking for and I’m hoping that they do the work and course correct now that the Premiere has aired and the completely dismal fan reaction as come out.
One of the few bright spots for me was the introduction of Peter Gallagher as Dr. David Hamilton. I love him as an actor! He's great! His recent roles in Grace and Frankie and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist were fantastic! I was super excited when I heard he was coming to Grey's. I like Dr. Hamilton so far and I'm interested to see how his relationship with Ellis and Meredith having dreams about her mother following her battle with COVID will play into the story this season. While it would be interesting to see Meredith work in Minnesota temporarily like Cristina did back in Season 9, I don't want her there permanently. Seattle is as much a character in the show as any of the main characters we've come to love, and something would be missing for me if she moved.
To be perfectly honest, it doesn't make much sense to me for Meredith to move to Minnesota permanently when she only knows a few people there. Who would watch her kids? If she's going to move to me, it makes more sense for her to move to Kansas where Alex is or Switzerland where Cristina is. Her kids have already lost their father and so many other caregivers and Meredith has stuck it out in Seattle for so long after everything that's happened that her moving to Minnesota for me would be bonkers.
Also, where were her kids in the Premiere? All of the interviews that came out prior to the Premiere talked about how Meredith’s focus at the beginning of the season would be on her work and her kids, but they were nowhere to be found in the Premiere and it’s not clear whose watching them while Meredith is in Minnesota. The interviews also made it seem like Meredith and Hayes would still be circling each other at the start of the season with quotes about how timing hadn’t been on their side, that they still needed to have an official drink and go out on a date, and that while Meredith wasn’t looking for a relationship one might find her.
That had literally nothing to do with the Premiere we saw whatsoever! The kids were MIA and it turned out that Meredith and Hayes started dating off screen following Maggie and Winston’s wedding and we didn’t get to see ANY of the firsts they talked about so much over the last two seasons. So stupid. The Premiere was a total rip off. I hate that Nick Marsh is back and I’ve never gone from liking a character and an actor to hating them in such a short period of time ever. My God. I’m so pissed off about this. What the hell were they thinking? Why did they think we would want this at all?
Don’t get me wrong, I loved Nick Marsh as a character and Scott Speedman's portrayal of him when he first showed up in Season 14. I was all ready for him to be Meredith's next great love and I was on board. But then he disappeared and was never heard from again and it was reported that Speedman wanted to take a break from TV for a while so I mourned the loss of what could have been and moved on. I sat through the out of character nonsense that was the DeLuca storyline in the belief that eventually that storyline would end, and Meredith would get a real proper love interest that made sense and would be her post-Derek endgame.
So, I was really excited when they introduced Hayes and I have really come to love his character and his budding relationship with Meredith. I feel like I've been waiting forever to finally see them go on a date and I am super pissed off that we didn't get to see it. I would have loved this storyline with Nick if they had introduced it at any previous point in time, but now after they've spent so much time setting up Meredith and Hayes it's just infuriating. I feel immense rage over how they handled Meredith and Hayes and Meredith and Nick’s storylines in the Premiere. I'm so angry. The whole thing just made no sense. That Premiere should never have aired. It never should have gotten past the draft stage. It was that bad. The first date and all of the firsts that come with a new relationship are the most exciting parts of a romantic storyline for me and I love seeing all of that on screen. They hyped Meredith and Hayes’ relationship up so much and even had the two of them talk about 'firsts' and dating after death so for their first date to happen off screen along with Austin's panic attacks and bad reaction to his Dad starting to date again is just such a rip off.
I have stuck with this show through thick and thin and for them to reward that loyalty by having the most interesting parts of that storyline happen off screen while showing a bunch of stuff on screen with other characters that they could have just told us about? So ridiculous. I was so excited for this season and now I'm just angry. I'm hoping that they are building to a big mid-season finale where Meredith is going to return to Seattle and by that time Bailey will have helped Hayes out with Austin and the two of them will finally get together on screen but I'm starting to feel like every time I get invested in one of the Meredith's new love interests, they pull the rug out from under me and I'm getting really fed up.
In other news, I'm not too surprised that Megan and Riggs broke up off screen only because Virgin River, which I love, just got picked up for two more seasons and I imagine Martin Henderson is busy filming that and it looks like Megan is going to be around for a while and they had to explain it somehow. I loved Meredith and Riggs together and I hated how they ended that storyline so I'm not sad about them breaking up off screen.
The Premiere also broke my heart over Amelia and Link’s storyline. It’s just so stupid. It’s drama for drama’s sake that’s all it is and it’s tired. When did marriage become so important to Link? In the span of a few months, he went from being totally fine with not getting married and checking in with Amelia every few weeks on how she felt to convincing himself that Amelia wanted him to propose so he did so at her sister's wedding and used her dead brother's children to do it. Amelia's right the whole thing was super messed up and manipulative and she was right to say no.
Link decided marriage was important to him and that fostering Luna would be totally fine without ever talking to Amelia. Yes, Amelia should have shared her thoughts with him too, but he also should have paid attention. Now their otherwise healthy relationship is over because she doesn't want to participate in an archaic ritual that involves signing a contract and exchanging vows? That's just stupid. I hope they find a way to work it out and get back together because I really like them as a couple.
I like Dr. Michelle Lin the new Head of Plastic of Surgery that Bailey and Richard are looking to hire. I thought for sure after that photo of the other guy made the rounds on social media that he was going to be the new Head of Plastics, but then he said that he doesn't do "free" and I knew he was out. I'm excited for there to be another female surgeon of colour on the show as the gender and racial balance on the show has been more white and male as of late and I think Grey's is at its best when you have a roughly equal number of women and men and as many different races being represented as possible.
I think it makes the storylines more interesting and authentic and personally gives me more characters that I can identify with. This new doctor seems driven, determined, and could have a potentially interesting dynamic with Richard and Bailey. She’s also giving me some Cristina Yang vibes and I’m all for that. I love Cristina. Always have. Always will. That being said, I'm a bit confused as to where they are going with Jo's storyline as I thought for sure the new Head of Plastics would be a guy and her new love interest. But Bailey did say they still needed to hire a new general surgeon and a new neurosurgeon so maybe one of them will be for her?
I can't really say that there was anything I loved about the Premiere which is disappointing. Jo's parenting hair dye mishap was funny, Levi's outfit cracked me up, and I liked that Bailey agreed to help Hayes out, but that's about it. The thing I was most excited for coming into this season was Meredith finally being back on her feet and seeing the romantic storyline between her and Hayes finally come to fruition.
Finding out that she's going to be in Minnesota for the foreseeable future, she and Hayes started dating off screen but had to call it quits because seeing his Dad date someone new caused Austin to have panic attacks, and finding out that Nick Marsh is back? I hated it. I don't understand how the same person who wrote the Season 16 masterpiece “Snowblind” with that amazing snow scene between Meredith and Hayes wrote the Premiere. I just don't understand. I really hope they're not going to do a love triangle with Meredith, Hayes, and Nick because that would just be so stupid.
She's a forty something award-winning surgeon who's a widowed single mother of three. Love triangles made sense when she was young intern, but at this point it's just dumb. I also didn't feel the chemistry this time around between Meredith and Nick like I did the first time. It felt forced and flat. I like Maggie and Winston together, but I didn't find their storyline in the Premiere particularly engaging. I'm glad that Amelia stayed true to herself, but I hate that Link has decided marriage is the only way forward and that they're still fighting.
The only moment that really made me laugh out of the hour was when Jo opened the door and Levi was in that ridiculous outfit. I loved the FaceTime call between Meredith and Hayes, but I hated the context. Honestly, I'm not really excited about any upcoming storyline this season which makes me really sad. I'm usually super positive and hopeful when it comes to this show, but this episode just stomped all over my dreams. All I can hope for now is that they pull a twist and everything I was hoping for happens in the mid-season finale otherwise I don't think I'm going to like this season very much.
Until next time!

OMG I'VE MISSED MY BOYS!! <3 <3
STILES'S AND ISAAC'S BANTER I CANNOT!! XD XD <3 <3
"I'm just saying--" "Isaac we are not going to torture her." "I meant scare her." "We are not going to psychologically torture her either!"
"Listen to the sounds around you." "Yep. Listen to the sounds around you." "Listen to the silence." "Just listening to the silence." "Okay, will you just let me handle this, Isaac? Please? I just, I have more experience with Banshees." "Yeah, and mental patients." *glares*
And let's not forget Stiles trying to explain away their situation by calling Meredith his girlfriend, only to have her call Isaac her type instead. ("Okay...Isaac can come too.") XD XD XD
I FREAKING LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! I HAVE MISSED THIS!!
I know that Daniel Sharman leaves the show after this season and I'm so sad about it, because I love him and his character so much and I'm really gonna miss him, but as long as they don't kill him (which I'm pretty sure they don't), it's okay I guess. But I am gonna miss him a LOT. Especially in moments like these lol.
That said, speaking of people who are gonna die...
One of the Argents is gonna die. Calling it right now. Allison and her dad just had a really sweet bonding moment, and she just told him she loves him, and is proud of him, and is "proud of us".
Which 100% means one of them is gonna die.
And you know what? I bet it's gonna be Allison.
I bet they're gonna kill Allison.
Which is ALL KINDS OF MESSED UP, but WHAT THE F*CK EVER I GUESS.
It hasn't happened yet, so I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.
Anyways, I'm gonna move on from that.
Can we talk about that scene between Scott and his dad?
I am so freaking glad that Rafael finally told him, and while I do think that Rafael has had SOME redemption from everything he's been doing--ESPECIALLY saving Noah's job--I totally understand why Scott went off on him, and I am honestly all here for it.
Because as far as Scott is concerned, the fact that his dad just up and left him and never came back into his life until now is a lot worse than a fall down the stairs. And I totally get where he's coming from.
I also totally understand why Melissa wanted him out of the house, and I understand why Void Stiles was trying to convince her that Scott would hate her for what happened, but he never would, because ultimately, it was still Rafael's decision to never be in his son's life, and that's on him, not on Melissa. Besides, Scott could never be mad at his mom, because she's literally one of the best moms in the world, and she's always been there for him, no matter what, and that type of love and loyalty matters to Scott more than anything else.
So I appreciate that Rafael finally came clean, but I also appreciate that Scott didn't forgive him, because I think that's justified. And that was a great freaking scene.
And now we have more answers, and we have even more of a team, and we can go save Lydia, and hopefully Noshiko won't somehow screw all of that up with whatever the h*ll she's planning to do next.
Let's go save Lydia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I JUST LOVE THESE TWO SO MUCH!! Scott has such great brothers. XD <3)
P.S. We also f*cking love Coach trusting his students and tasing the f*ck out of Brunski so that they could get Meredith out of there. I love him. We're getting a lot of Coach love this episode. I approve. <3

PLEASE DROP A PT 2 OF PRAYERS FOR THE PLUMBER
Prayers for the Plumber Part Two
You can find part one here
I hope you enjoy this one! And I might just have a part three in mind...
It had been a full day since the Hayes clan had descended upon Meredith house. Thankfully, the kids had gotten along well enough and there hadn’t been any issues with them. Bailey had been basking in the fact that there were more boys in the house that he could talk to.
With Irene and Cormac both at work, Meredith was currently keeping an eye on all five of the kids not that Cormac’s son really needed adult supervision. The two of them were set up in the living room finishing off their homework whilst her own kids were in the back garden playing. Relishing in the calm and quiet, Meredith had sat herself down on the dining table with her paperwork and tablet, fuelled by a large mug of coffee she was sure would see at least three refills before her work was done.
She’d lost herself reading a research paper when someone had cleared their throat. Jumping a little she looked up to see Liam and Austin standing by the table, sheepish looks on both of their faces.
“Sorry, Dr Grey,” Austin murmured.
She shook her head smiling at them, “Don’t worry about it, I should have been paying more attention. And I thought I told you both to call me Meredith.” It was odd having two kids who were living with her call her Dr Grey, she wanted them to feel comfortable around the house. “Is everything okay?
Meredith couldn’t help but be slightly concerned. Cormac had often spoken about how independent his kids now were. They liked doing their own thing, didn’t need anyone to keep an eye on them and were fairly self-sufficient. So, hackles were raised when they had decided to come over to her.
“Uh, yeah. Actually, we were wondering if we could talk to you…” Austin began to trail off, feeling slightly awkward and stupid that he should even ask her.
When Cormac had first brought up the like of Dr Grey at home, the boys were immediately curious. They didn’t take a whole load of interest in Cormac’s colleagues but they knew that he didn’t really speak to a lot of them when they were in Switzerland. He wasn’t particularly close to anyone but Dr Grey was something that he couldn’t seem to stop mentioning. The boys were pretty sure that Cormac didn’t even realise how much he brought her up in conversation.
So, after the second week of hearing about her, Austin and Liam had decided to do some snooping online. Typing in the words Meredith Grey came up with multiple articles on the woman that the boys were pretty sure was the one their Dad didn’t stop going on about. She was successful and obviously busy so Austin felt like an idiot for disturbing her.
“Yeah, sure. Pull up a chair,” she nodded to the two seats on one side of her.
Feeling a little relief wash over them, the boys took a seat, glad that Meredith hadn’t just turned them away.
“Da said that you lost your husband a couple of years ago.” Liam hadn’t been quite sure how to bring this topic up and couldn’t help but feel slightly guilty at the mention of it. He had seen the way his dad got when their mom was mentioned.
A sad smile crossed Meredith face, “Yeah, it’s been around six years now.”
Before Liam could carry on, Austin interrupted. “Sorry, we didn’t mean to bring it up.”
“No, no. It’s okay, did you guys want to ask something?”
The ache of losing Derek had never completely left her. There were days where it hit her like a tsunami wave, where it took every ounce of her strength to get through the day when her kids were the only reason that she was able to survive. Today, that ache wasn’t all-consuming. There were two kids in front of her that had lost their mother, they’d watched her die. So, if they had questions they wanted to ask, or just wanted to talk to her about it then she could be there for them.
“Have you dated someone since then?” Austin looked down at his hands as he asked.
That wasn’t the question that Meredith had been expecting but she still answered. “I have but it took some time. Dating other people… it’s never once meant that I stopped loving Derek. He’s always with me.”
Austin slowly nodded as she spoke. It was the answer that he had wanted to hear. Abigail had told both Liam and Austin to make sure that their dad eventually moved on when the time was right. At the time, they’d agreed, wanting to do anything their mother had wanted them to do. They’d also spoken about to their aunt. Irene had been worried that Cormac would end up spending the rest of his days lonely, especially as the boys got older and went to college. They’d all come to the conclusion that within the next year they were going to get him on a dating app.
The reality of it was different though. Cormac hadn’t been with anyone since Abi had passed away. He hadn’t shown interest in anyone, so their mother’s final wish had been pushed to the back of their mind. Until recently when the boys could tell that the mere mention of a certain General Surgeon was enough to change his demeanour.
They knew, in their heart of hearts, that their dad would never stop loving Abigail. They saw the way he still looked over the old photo albums, a softness taking over his eyes. They heard the way he spoke about her like she was still the breath of fresh air in his life. Hearing it from someone else though, someone who had lost the person they were meant to spend the rest of their life with, gave both of the boys a little more comfort.
“Could I ask you something else?”
“Sure,” Meredith had pushed her work to the side, giving the boys her full attention.
Austin looked out of the kitchen window, glancing at the three kids playing out there. It had only then struck him how young they must have been when their dad had passed away. He wondered how many memories of him were actually solidified in their mind.
“How did you kids take it? I’m sorry if I’m being nosey but…”
“But you want to know and that’s understandable. You aren’t being nosey.” Meredith sighed, thinking back to the first time she had told them. “Zola’s the only one who really remembers Derek. Bailey was too young, and I only found out I was having Ellis after he had passed away. Zola was the one who found it hardest to get her head around, it took a lot of reassuring that no one was ever going to replace her dad. I wouldn’t ever want that but my kids… sometimes I think they’re smarter than me.” She laughed, they were Derek’s kids, alright. “They want me to be happy, Ellis wants me to find my second Prince Charming but it’s not always going to be straightforward. For them or for me.”
“We think dad wants to date!” Liam suddenly blurted out.
His brother quickly jabbed him in the ribs, making him wince. “What? It’s true!”
“Oh,” Meredith was a little shocked. The past couple of months, she had thought there was something going on between them. Neither of them had outwardly mentioned it, of course, but she had honestly thought that there had been something there. Meredith quickly schooled her face into a neutral expression.
“Would that be okay with the two of you? Because I’m sure your dad wouldn’t want to do anything that would make you both uncomfortable.” Meredith couldn’t help it, but half of her mind was on the conversation and the other half was trying to figure out who the hell Cormac was considering dating.
The boys looked at each other. They’d had their own conversations about it when Cormac had been at work, or after one of his long conversations about Meredith. They hadn’t liked the idea at first, hated it if they were honest. But over time they’d realised that this is exactly what their dad needed and what their mom had wanted. Plus, they were pretty sure that if he started to dare someone then that should have less time to yell at them. They smiled; both having come to the same conclusion.
“I think after talking to you about it, we’d be pretty cool with him dating.”

Happiness (Part 2)
Evermore
Here’s part two of three from this little fix-it fic. Hope you like it. Enjoy!
-
It's been a few months now since Jo's call and since Alex debated whether he should visit Seattle or not. He doesn't know if he should. There’s something telling him he lost his right to go back there. To just wiggle himself back into the life’s he left so abruptly. There’s something holding him back.
He ended up with a very big Peds case that kept him busy at work for like a month. When he then finally decided to man up and get over his stupid feelings, the twins got sick with the flu for two weeks. And as soon as they were well again he got it himself and was down for another two weeks. He waited another week to not infect Jo but when he finally got a ticket and was waiting to go to Seattle his flight got canceled. The next flight he wanted to take got canceled too due to bad weather conditions and then there was a lot of work again at the hospital.
Maybe this was the universe telling him to just stay in Kansas and let Jo live the happy life she deserves. Maybe she was better off without him in her life. But the second they got a call from Izzie's mom, that she was admitted to the hospital and it wasn’t looking good Alex took the opportunity to not chicken out again. They also took the twins visit their grandma possibly a last time and to show them where their parents once lived and maybe meet Mer and the kids.
A week later they landed in Seattle. After they left the plane and got their suitcases, they are now on their way to the exit. Mer offered to pick them up from the airport so they wouldn’t have to take a cap. They start looking for Mer as soon as they leave the airport but neither her nor her car was waiting for them. Alex is just about to get his phone out, to call Meredith when he hears a voice calling his name from behind.
Before he even turns he already knows who to look for. He would recognize her voice through everything. It has always been and still is one of his absolute favorite sound. Finding her leaning against her car door, greeting him with a toothless smile, his glance immediately goes to her expanding bump, which looks so good on her. It's so perfect that he would like to capture this view in his brain forever. It’s also so big, but what was he expecting from a seven months twins bump - he doesn't really know.
One of her hands is holding onto the car, the other one is in the pocket of her jacket, tightening the rim of the shirt she's wearing around her stomach. He knows women hate it when you say they have the pregnancy glow but Jo really has it and it fits her so incredibly well.
With a quick call he guides Izzie into Jo's direction, while he's already on his way towards his ex-wife, with his daughter and their suitcase.
"Hi." He greets Jo as he gets closer, not knowing if he should hug her or just do nothing. It's quite awkward. The last time they saw each other they were still husband and wife. He rememberes every second of their last morning together - they are burned into his brain forever.
They woke up, enjoyed the morning in each others arms, took a shower together, packed Alexs stuff in Jos car, he took her out for breakfast, they drove to the airport, they kissed each other goodbye and then he left for his flight.
Now standing here next to her again makes him feel like their goodbye has only been a week ago and she's here to pick him up to go home. But it's not, it's been almost seven month since their goodbye - he's bringing his family with him, she's carrying their babies and they act like they are total strangers.
"Hi." His thoughts get interrupt by his daughter excitingly greeting Jo, freeing her hand from her dad's to tightly hug Jo's leg.
"Oh- ahm hi." Jo greets the little girl a little surprised but immediately stroking her hair lovingly.
"And hello babies." Alexis greets Jo's bump as she carefully strokes it with one hand.
"Did you feel that? They’re saying hi too." Jo smiles as she looks down at the little girl, taking her hand to put it where one of the babies is kicking.
"Like a little alien." Alexis giggles happily, looking from Jo to her dad with a cheeky smile on her face.
"I'm sorry." Alex apologizes, grapping his daughters hands. "Ok, enough Alexis, give Jo some space-"
"There you are. We lost you back there, suddenly you two were gone." Izzie finally reaches the group with Eli on her hand. "Oh I thought Mer wanted to pick us up." Izzie notes as she spots the woman next to Alex.
"Yeah, she got pulled into an emergency surgery and asked me to pick you up, since she won’t let me stand in an OR longer than two hours." Jo jokes, trying to loosen the slightly tense atmosphere. "Oh right- I'm sorry, I'm Jo." She introduces herself, sticking her hand out towards Izzie with the best smile she can put on right now.
"Oh Jo like in Jo Jo." Izzie asks surprised pointing from Jo to Alex and Jo nods.
The whole situation is tense and rather awkward but thanks to the two smallest of the group the awkward silence gets interrupt as Alexis fights her dads hands off once again to start stroking Jos stomach again.
"Eli, come and feel. There are two babies inside." She calls her brother over, who's not so sure about it. He's always the more careful one and also rather shy. Other than his sister who's very outgoing and not afraid of strangers.
"Alexis! Stop that! It's not nice to touch people you don't know." Izzie disciplines her daughter, who's still stroking Jo's stomach.
"But mommy that's my friend Jo and she allowed me to say hello to the babies." Alexis explaines to her mother looking up to Jo, who smiles at her.
"It's fine. You would be surprised how many people touch my bumb every day out of nowhere." Jo assures Izzie, not missing Alex's face immediately turning sad.
"Mommy you know, I love babies." Alexis pleads.
"Yeah I know-"
"Ok. I think we should get going. We can keep talking in the car." Alex interrupts, starting to put the suitcases into the truck of Jo's Audi.
After convincing Jo to let him drive, so she could relax, they are now in the car. Alex in the driver's seat, Jo in the passenger seat, Izzie and the twins in the back.
"Jojo you know what?" Alexis continues her conversation with her new declared best friend Jo. "I wanna be a Peds doctor like my daddy when I'm big." She proudly announces, finally unwrapping her sucker all by herself, that Jo gave her and Eli.
"Wow. Really? That's so cool. Did he already teach you some cool stuff?" Jo asks, looking at Alexis while they talk.
The little girl nodds and puts the sucker in her mouth. Jo holds her hand out for Alexis to pass her the wrapping and puts it in the little trash bag in the center console. Alex's eyes watch her as she does so before Jo turns back to continue her conversation with Alexis. Alex's eyes stay at the little trash bag he put there almost a year ago for Jo to put her gum wrappers and tissues in.
It gives him this weird warm feeling inside to see that she didn't get rid of it yet.
