The term overshadowing in fics or in the show always strikes me as v intentional, when it comes to Danny. Like out of all the powers Danny has. That one has to be the one with the most moral ambiguity.

But Danny always seems a little too at ease about using it. We've seen him use it seriously in dangerous situations. But also more casually too. Because Danny can be very petty at times

Which just brings me back to my point. He always calls it "overshadowing" instead of what it actually is. Possession. And it just feels like an attempt at sanitizing it, for Danny (And correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't think it was ever called possession in the show. Probably to keep it as kid friendly as possible. But I think it's an idea that can be applied to Danny's characterization too)

Danny doesn't think he's a bad person. And he's not. He's 14. He works hard. He takes on so much responsibility that no one ever asked him to take on. But he's 14. And he's also grumpy, and petty, and immature. Sometimes he makes mistakes.. and sometimes he makes very intentional, very bad decisions. Because he has far more power than a 14 year old should have

But I don't think he can think of anything he does as really bad or evil in any way. And that's normal. Everyone sees their own best intentions first and foremost

So he doesn't call it possession. He's not malevolent. He's not evil. He doesn't hurt people like his enemies do. He's not blindly following an obsession that leads to hypnotizing crowds en masse, like Ember. He doesn't feed off misery, like Spectra. He's not like Vlad, or Skulker, or any of his other rouges.

So it's not possession

It's just overshadowing.

It's different.

I just thought of this idea..

So, sonic wachowski tells Shadow and silver Whipple about their alternative counterparts, and the next time Modern sonic and shadow visit, wachowski convinces them to take the Whipples with them to the Boom world, and they meet the boom counterparts.

And somehow Boom shadow for some reason finds Shadow Whipple and thinks that it’s probably one of Eggman’s robots trying to dublicate him, or one of the Fox’s inventions.

Either way he doesn’t like it, so he grabs Whipple’s arm and teleport him to a far place and attacks him.

Shadow whipple already having chaos energy in him (duh) is able to defend himself and fight back. But he’s still young and Boom has more experience.

In the middle of the fight, Modern Shadow who got worried and went to find the kid when he realized he was missing, comes in and beats Boom because not only he has experience too he uses chaos energy.

After the fight and boom promising to meet them again on his terms, Modern heals Whipple with the Chaos Emrald he has and chaos controls them back to Boom Team Sonic, Modern, and wachowski (as well as Silver Whipple).

Then something clicks to Shadow Whipple and he started to question..

Why didn’t he feel chaos energy from that shadow, and he felt it running in this Shadow?

He knows he and Modern shadow have kinda the same backstory as far as he knows..

And chaos energy is related to it.

But what does this mean to the other shadow??

Just something I thought of, i tried to make Boom shadow the same as in the game and show but idk if this is accurate enough.

My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

I saw @parrot-parent do a very successful donation match and I thought it was such a good idea so I will also match all donations up to $500! If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February.
