End of the Year Game Tag

I got tagged by @happyandticklish for the end of year tag game! I'm going to put the answers under the cut so you can skip past if you'd like ^^

Part 1: Fandom Faves

01. Favorite new fandoms of the year

OOOOOO I think I joined a heap of new fandoms this year. Top favourites would have to be Heartstopper, Moon Knight, Daredevil, SuperBat (DC), and The Umbrella Academy.

02. Favorite new ships since this year

Obviously Nick/Charlie, Superbat, and probably Steddie (even tho I'm not up to their season in Stranger things yet lmao).

03. Favorite anime/TV show of the year

I think Moon Knight has to take the cake my dudes. I haven't been that hooked on a show in ages.

I'm not really an anime watcher, so I don't really have an answer for this. But my gf has been trying to get me into Fairy Tail so I'll pick that one I guess ^^

And of course, my all time favourite show is Doctor Who

04. Favorite movie of the year

Turning red was amazing, made my best friend cry.

I do have to give MoonFall an honourable mention, that movie was batshit crazy and I loved it.

And even though it technically came out in 2021, I watched it in January this year so SPIDERMAN NO WAY HOME is gonna be my favourite movie for the year.

In terms of my favourite movie of all time, I love Legends of Ravaging Dynasties and How to Train your Dragon.

05. Favorite character of the year

Oh god this is hard...

I'd have to give it to either Steven from Moon Knight or Elijah from The Originals!

And of course Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man has to be up there hehe.

But my favourite character of all time is Captain Jack Harkness from Doctor who. That man is EVERYTHING

06. Favorite soundtrack of the year

Ooooo interesting...

In terms of newer sound tracks, I'll give it to Tick Tick Boom (another one that came out last year but I only watched it this year).

For older soundtracks, nothing will ever top HTTYD.

07. Favorite book/manga/comic of the year

I started The Promised Neverland this year and it was pretty cool!

Overall, Stuff That Scares Your Pants Off is such a good book and I don't know why I love it so much.

08. Favorite game of the year

I'll give it to The Quarry, Cult of the Lamb, and Stray.

Overall, I'm a sucker for Minecraft, Skyrim, and The Sims.

09. Highlight of this year to remember

Probably moving out! That was a huge achievement, and to do it with my girlfriend was awesome.

Part 2: Community Review

10. Favorite Tumblr moments of 2022

Like many others, TickleTober was my favourite moment this year for the community! And not just seeing everyone creating throughout the month, but seeing the support and encouragement and hype for each other was lovely!

11. Favorite fan art of the year

I'm such a sucker for anything that @sleepysheepytea draws cause it's just absolutely adorable (even though we don't share any fandoms I still cannot get enough of them).

I also only recently discovered @vqler 's art and HOLY SHIT ???? very VERY talented people on this app...

@ticklishfanart has some adorable pieces !!! Mostly for MHA which I haven't seen but like COME ON LOOK AT THIS, AND THIS!!! HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE IT?

Finally, @ssnicker-doodless has some super cute sketches that I've seen around the place.

Again, not a lot of fandom crossover with people (perhaps down the track I'll commission 👀). I need to find artists who share fandoms with meeeee !!! (though as I'm typing this I swear to god there's some moonknight fanart I've seen and I can't find it SJDHALKSHAS help). If there's any artists out there who have similar likes to me PLEASE send me ur username (or a username of an artist you like) in the ask box !!!

But I mean the fanart someone drew of When Bats Hum kinda has to be my favourite right??? It was so cute, so well done, and meant absolutely everything to me.

12. Favorite fic of the year

Oh this is DIFFICULT ! This is real hard. I loved so many fics this year aaaaaaaaaa.

Onion Man's heartstopper fics were beautiful (@ticklepinions )

This heartstopper fic, this PJO fic, and this Destiel fic from Happy are all amazing (@happyandticklish )

HOLY SHIT I JUST REALISED THAT @writingwitharlo WROTE A HEAP OF MY FAVOURITE FICS FROM AGES AGO AJSKHSALKHFS OMFG !!!! LEMME DUMP A WHOLE LIST FOR YOU: - Steddie (recent, not an old fav but I still love it) - Heartstopper (1 and 2, again not old but amazing ) - Stony - Supernatural (this one and this one and this one too! THESE ARE SOME OF MY OLD FAVS SKJALSHKLSDJHSDFLKJH)

@ticklishraspberries has some really really sweet fics for Steddie, The Umbrella Academy, and Supernatural that I love !!

13. Favorite ask game of the year

DAMNIT THIS IS ANOTHER HARD QUESTION UHH honestly I'd have to say the Alphabet Ask Game by @otomiya-tickles was a really cute and fun one!

14. My top achievements as a writer/artist/creator/blogger

OOOOOO Ok I have a few for this one. 2022 was a pretty big year for me in a number of different areas. - I hit 1,000 followers (holy shit) - I posted 45 new fics (which is insane I'm so pleased) - I completed the entire TickleTober Challenge coming up with my own original prompts (crazy) - And I'm slowly reaching out and talking to people in the community and I'm so keen to make some more friends !!

15. My own best fic/post of the year

In terms of the fic that did 'the best' I'm going to guess it's one of the heartstopper ones? Mayyyyybe a Moon Knight one?

OK DAMN heartstopper wasn't even in the top 3 ??

My top 3 fics overall are 3rd - Cold Hands, Warm Heart (Sanders Sides) [75 Notes] 2nd - Out of Control (Moon Knight) [86 Notes] 1st - Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better (MoonKnight) [105 Notes]

The one that I'm the most proud of this year is definitely Giggles in the Dark (Heartstopper). I loved imagining it, writing it, reading it, just everything! It holds a very special place in my heart! (and it did pretty well too so maybe people could feel how much I liked it lmao)

16. My most underappreciated fic/post of the year

I mean I don't reeeeally have any fics I think are 'underappreciated'? But I guess I'll put either Magic or Claws (both TickleTober fics lol, 25 and 26) on there? Magic is a pretty fun one that I had been thinking about for a while, and Claws I thought was pretty clever.

17. A post of mine that got more popularity than expected 

Honestly both of the Moon Knight Fics got wayyyyy more popular than I was expecting (more than 100 notes for one ???) so yeah I'll put down Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better and Out of Control lol.

18. Something I changed on my blog since this year

I mean I changed my profile pic I guess? And I also posted a pic of myself (covering my face of course) which I've never done before!

Part 3: Next Year

19. Something I didn’t post this year but would like to do next year

I'd want to try to get into chapter fics? Like one long running fic thing. I think that would be a fun challenge!

20. Goals for next year

I want to hit 100 fics next year! I know that'll be tricky but I think I can do it!

I also want to talk to more people and make more friends!

21. 2023 releases I look forward to the most

Definitely hyped for the new Indiana Jones, and Spiderman Spiderverse.

I'm also keen for season 2 of Shadow and Bone and Squid Game.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words as well - I try not to get too in my head with worrying about whether or not people will like what I have planned for future plotlines, or if I'm writing in a way that stays true to the spirit/plot of the OG show while still being different enough to be entertaining/engaging... AtLA is such a precious piece of media to me, so I hold myself to very high standards, which can be detrimental when I just want to get a chapter out but I keep rereading it and finding little things "wrong" that need to be fixed lol.

Nep’s Downloading Homestuck Walk through!!!

im on desktop and i dont know how to make colored text on desktop so just pretend thats a rainbow!

also going to at @ @ghostdragoncookie  because they needed help but feel free to use this whoever u are!

(also dropping the typing quirk for clarity cause maybe people want to download homestuck but dont have nepeta puns dictionary bookmarked for easy access)

OKAY SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO: the ramblings of a teenage boy who just woke up from a three hour nap and also knows like 4 things about computers but just used brute force to get his way through it

Step one:

go here https://bambosh.github.io/unofficial-homestuck-collection/

Step two:

press Download and then download the file that corresponds to your operating system, i have windows so screenshots that will be included will be for windows. but i will learn how to use linux or mac if needed i am a servant to the people! and the people must read homestuck!

also make sure to put it in a place you can find easy that will be important later

Step three:

Downlaod the asset pack. Now this is the hard part, imo, because they say all asset packs are the same but not all work with all the computers. “but nep, that doesnt make any sense! why dont they just tell you what asset packs work for what computers?” and to that i say: thats the joy of homestuck! nothing works, about three things make sense, and we all just guess until it works out. so if your asking what asset pack to download, just start at the top and work your way down ig i dunno man thats what i did.

Step four:

Assuming you magically picked the right asset pack (and if you didnt dw there will be a trouble shooting thing at the bottom of this) you will go into your files and find homestuck!

Step five:

Unzip your files. How I understand for macs if you click on a file it automatically unzips itself. (why does it do that apple? whats the fuckin purpose?) I dont know for linux but once again if asked i will learn. and for windows theres a nifty button to press pictured below.

Step six:

OPENING HOMESTUCK!!!!!

so now you will go into actual homestuck and open it! process pictured below!!

first you want to make sure ur asset pack and hs are in the same place, that is just for ease of finding things later

a tattoo was something you’d been interested in getting since you were young and when you finally could, you were thrilled to get it

but whilst you expected to be nervous of the needles at least, you didn’t expevct to be nervous because of the tattoo artist

you’d met her before for consultations on the sketch of your tattoo and you were a flustered, jittery mess over the beautiful woman

she was gorgeous, her grey eyes twinkling and her milky skin decorated with small beautiful tattoos- some japanese characters along her bicep, little crow silhouettes along her collarbones, some dainty hearts on the inside of her wrists and flowers along those beautiful long fingers

and the silver earrings that adorned her eyes and the flash of silver of her tongue piercing? so fucking awesome

you were captivated by her and it didn’t help that her sweet, soothing voice made you feel weak in the knees

so on the day of getting the tattoo, you’re fidgeting with anxiety on the black stretcher as kiyoko sets up the needles and inks

you don’t think she’d notice how your knee keeps bouncing and how your hands tremble so it’s surprising when she leaves the equipment and moves to stand in front of you, smiling gently

“you don’t have to be scared.” you’re stunned when she takes your clammy hands into her warm ones, stroking over the skin gently as you feel butterflies flutter in your stomach. “i know it’s your first time but it’ll be okay, i’ll go slow for you.”

true to her words, kiyoko starts off slowly and carefully, giving you reassuring smiles as she works the needle on your upper arm, breathing in tune with you

but she’s so close to you, your face is heating up and you’re getting jittery because she was already so beautiful but- holy fuck! she’s even better up close and she’s touching you and fuck fuck fuck-

you literally stop thinking when you feel those small latex-clad fingers stroke the underside arm of your arm, rubbing soothing circles

your eyes widen as you stare at kiyoko, her pretty eyes fluttering up to meet yours with a graceful smile adorning her beautiful face

“relax for me.” with her telling you in her soothing voice, how can you not?

once the tattoo is completed and she’s bandaging it up gently, you’re exhilarated with the adrenaline shooting through you, filling you with thoughtless courage

“you’re really beautiful and thank you so much for doing my tattoo, i love it so much and i like you and i’d take you on a date if-” you suddenly cut off with embarrassment, looking away sheepishly

but then kiyoko’s giggling and it’s such a beautiful giggle you can’t help but smile too even if your cheeks are burning

“i’d love to go on a date.” she says softly, reaching for a business card to scribble her number on. “call me.” she smiles, her warm fingers grazing yours as she hands you the small piece of card

the way she’s staring at you so hardly makes your heart stop but then she grins and you think you’ve seen an actual angel, even with the silver flashes of her smiley piercing

“hi!” she beams cheerfully. “i’m alisa! wow, you’re pretty.” she gasps as she leans close to you, her wide green eyes lined with thick eyeliner and lashes raking over your features, making you visibly flustered. “aw, you’re so cute! i’m so happy i get to do your tattoo!”

you’re sheepish as you tell her you haven’t chosen one and this is your first time but alisa doesn’t mind

she leans over your shoulder, filling your nose with her sweet floral scent, as she picks out pretty sketches she thinks you’d like

and squeals with excitement when you finally choose one, settling to have it on your collarbone

as she’s setting up equipment, she chats along excitedly and breathlessly, asking you plenty of questions so that you don’t even have a chance to feel nervous

especially when you notice sometimes her questions will be bordering on a certain topic

“so you don’t have a s/o? i see.” she looks down to arrange the inks but you can see her smile

alisa smirks when she’s ready to start tattooing because she’s stood so close to you, she definitely flashes you a little wink

“ready, y/n? you’re going to look so good!”

she’s very gentle as she tattoos, her smile fading to a small frown of concentration, her little pink tongue dipping out as she works the tattoo needles on you

she asks you often if you’re okay, pausing even if it’s a small tattoo to ensure you’re okay and gives you encouraging smiles and praise that makes you heart flutter

“you’re doing so well for me, darling.” she grins cheekily when your cheeks heat up a bit too much at the nickname

she also probably puts on some music to help you relax, singing along with you and making you giggle when she goes slightly off-key that you’re grinning and having such a good time you’re forgetting about the pain across your collarbone

once it’s done, she barely places the bandage over it and grins just as wide as you do when you’re pleased with it

“i think it looks beautiful, just like you.” she giggles as you’re getting up to leave. she follows you out into the main bit of the parlour where you rejoin your friends

“when will you come for your next tattoo?” she asks, tilting her head as you laugh shyly

“i’m not sure yet.” alisa pouts before suddenly she’s grabbing a business card and scribbling her number down

“well, i cannot wait indefinitely to see you again so here,” you splutter, speechless, when she hands you her number with a wink. “see you soon, cutie. don’t keep waiting me too long.”

oh and trust me, with the way she had your heart beating so fast, she won’t be waiting for long at all

Okay, NOW let’s get into some one-off stories, and yes, the authors might have written other girl direction fics, but these are a great place to start...and yes, I know these don’t include EVERY single girl direction fic ever written, but these are some of my faves, most of ‘em recent:

Needy, SelinOriginal, 3.3k. This fic, just wow--give me some Princess Park, some daddy kink, some insecure period sex vibes, and some body worship, and I”m alllll set.

You Saw Me Standing Alone, yeah_alright, 4k. Why does this work so well? OF COURSE, this includes the pairing Harry Styles/the moon, but my god, it works.

Hoist the Colours High, @kerasines, 5.2k. The story Kim was born to write, I sooooo want to see at least 10k more, Pirates of the Caribbean AU.

all down your shoulders and back, eleadore, 5.3k. This focus on Harry’s hair and cutting it was so far ahead of its time, yet absolute canon? In 2014?? Yeah!

let me be yours, louhearted, 6.6k. Come for the daddy kink and Louis calling Harry baby, but stay for the overall softness and canon vibes of it all, yeah!

Got Me an Appetite, zedi, 8k. Honestly, everything in the gaybo fest is MUST READ, but this one fits into what you want to see in girl direction for sure (plus these tags, whew).

@leahclearwaterdefensesquad kate is so kind & one of my go to people for tag games, but kate is ALWAYS providing the leah content that we NEED. also the lesbian twilight ship moodboards and PLAYLISTS. i also really appreciate how kate & @vampireguarddogs are always some of the first blogs i see that boost a lot of important talking points related to the series on racism. bc if you’re going to be in this fandom, there’s a lot you need to make sure you’re educated on since this series is problematic. like we’re all here to be nostalgic and have fun but we can’t do that whilst ignoring relevant conversations. dee & kae also always have great takes in these discussions too!

wait r u fr? tumblr ate the ask? pls i’m so fuckin mad i literally typed paragraphs about how much i loved it so here we go i’m gonna try to be more coherent this time:

this mafia fic is my favorite haikyuu fic i’ve ever read and one of my fave fics in general. like the amount of hard work and research u put into it is so clear and it shows in the amazing quality of the fic. ur pacing, the flow of ur words, ur characterizations of tanaka and val, the way u pull off that last scene. everything is so well done and all of those things are super hard to pull off on their own so props to u for being able to do all of those. like wow i really am in awe of ur talent and i’m so thankful for ur hard work and the fact that u posted this like u rlly took me thru an emotional ride and gave me such a good piece of writing to enjoy and i love that.

okay so: details. i love the way u include the little things in the fic. stuff like the name of the designers and the names of organizations and stuff in the fic helps me picture the scenes so much and it just really adds to the extravagant feel of the fic.

with symbolism, i could literally write paragraphs about how well u included symbols in this fic. like i deadass gasped when the viper necklace was crushed in the final scene at the end right before tanaka did it. the parallels!!!! god ur so good at writing and obviously ur brain is huge to have thought of that and seamlessly included it into the fic.

okay so idk what the proper term for this is but like, the way that action happens in the fic is so well done and not predictable but still in line with what you’ve revealed to us about the characters. like ofc tanaka would pull the necklace out of his pocket at just that moment as a way to reveal to daichi what he felt. it’s just so perfect and so true to the person he is in the fic. about his characterization, god i love it so much. all of the pain and yearning and sheer want in his person were clearly conveyed thru his perspectives and his actions. like that boy just wants to be loved and that’s why it made such good narrative sense to have daichi ask him who he loves more in the scene right before the ending. like i saw the tag for death and expected a million things but u somehow managed to surprise me and yet still stay true to the world and characters u created and ugh, it’s all so perfect.

speaking of, the pacing of this fic is so good. like u manage to take us thru a whirlwind time period that doesn’t feel fast or drawn out or anything other than perfect. u have such a good awareness of pacing that it makes me so jealous and yet so pleased as a reader. like nothing about their love confessions or trysts felt rushed or forced. it felt so natural and true to the people they were and the world that they live in.

also i said before in the other ask how i love the way u utilize sex scenes in the fic. u sprinkle them in at just the right moment and they manage to be hot but they also reveal so much about the characters involved. like i’m specifically thinking of the scene in tanaka’s home where she asks why he won’t touch her and he says that she didn’t give him permission. like the love and devotion in that way of thinking felt so true and yet in the end he still did it and ugh that breaks my heart in the best way bc i know my pain as a reader is nothing next to his pain as a character. i would actually love to pick ur brain about how u decided on the ending. did it come to u in the moment or did u set out writing the fic knowing it would end up like that? so many questions rlly bc u created a world and a cast of characters that are so interesting like i would literally read books about them. (esp val. i loved how headstrong and proud she was but also how weak and emotional she could be. her ending made me sad but u kno, it made sense) and i’m especially curious to find out how tanaka copes after. like i can’t imagine that daichi would just accept his loyalty again but u do manage to surprise me in the best way so who knows. but i also mourn for him which is a little odd for me bc after finding out that he knew about daichi’s affair i felt betrayed and it hurt for some reason which is so interesting bc i trusted him and felt like i knew him, but u still managed to keep parts of him hidden, which is so cool.

oh and despite the tragic ending, u fed us so good with scenes of the two everywhere. like i love how we got to see tanaka and val in their own homes and at parties and we truly got to see how they act when they’re alone and when they’re comfortable and when they’re playing the part of loyal bodyguard or loyal wife. ugh it’s all so good and tbh i only finished it like maybe half an hour again but i already want to read it again bc it was so fucking good and the way u write emotions like yearning and heartbreak is so good like ugh. everything about the way u wrote this fic was so amazing and fuck tumblr for eating my ask but i hope i at least manage to repeat the majority of what was in the og ask lol.

It is the weekend so I finally have enough brain power to reply.

I wanted to be selfish and keep this in my inbox forever, because this might be the kindest, most appreciative thing everyone has ever said to me about my writing. Toska is a piece of my heart and my soul in written word, and to have received something like this? It’s... indescribable. You have picked up on so many of the small details, symbols, and more that I littered throughout the fic, and you’ve called out the things that I was excited about people reading and reacting to.

This means everything to me. Pacing is one of the most important things in a fic to me, because I am the kind of person that easily loses interest when I read.

ahhhhhhhhh!!!! I’m glad this helped you to picture everything! I actually used real life dresses, shoes, locations (google Villa La Vigie, it is STUNNING). I was a fashion student, and I now work in the fashion industry so small details to convery luxury is extremely important to me. I love that it made all the difference to you.

fuck, wow. this. This is what I was truly hoping for. I love figuring out foreshadowing in movies, in books, in tv series. I try to write things that foreshadowing what going to happen in the end throughout of every one of my fics, but this is the first time someone called it out, and I am truly grateful for it. The viper necklace thing is a moment I was very proud of. and when Tanaka tells Val to stop talking about Daichi when they’re alone on the bed together: that’s the first instance where we see his guilt that he knows. Also, when Tanaka says “why dont i finish what I started,” is another thing I linked to the ending.

hehehehehehe this makes me very happy. tbh, I wasn’t expecting there to be SO MUCH PLOT when I wrote this fic. I had mapped everything out and planned for it to be about... 5k? words? It ended up being 21k all together lmao. I actually thought there wasn’t enough smuttiness in the entire thing, so thanks for letting me now that it was just the right amount. I was worried because the only time I actually describe them fucking with Tanaka’s dick inside her, is that measley one paragraph at the Monte Carlo Casino. When I realised that, I was in utter shock. I was texting @mindninjax in the discord server like “FUCK. I can’t believe I haven’t actually written sex sex.” Then I went into thinking how disappointed people were going to be and phew, it was a whirlwind of a night.

i would actually love to pick ur brain about how u decided on the ending. did it come to u in the moment or did u set out writing the fic knowing it would end up like that? so many questions rlly

ask away, send in questions. I built this world beyond what I’ve written. I have character layouts and plans for every person I introduced, and have ideas for fics on all of them.

To answer your question, I knew exactly how I wanted it to end before I began writing. That end scene is what I thought of first. Exactly like that, with it being cut off mid-sentence to represent her being shot. That sort of “boom” or feeling of shock where you just stare at the screen is the exact reaction I wanted to get when I finished writing, so I hope that is what happened.

hey kinda upset so rant ahead (I swear I don't hate anyone I'm just upset) Ok so you might haven't seen yet but the devs posted the upcoming new Ur+ cards and surprise Luci for some reason gets another UR+ card. I know they need to give One of the brothers a plus card so they can be released in pairs but WHY On Earth does it have to be Luci. Mammon is the fan fave, he could get another one, or yaknow Asmo bcos well we all know why. I'm probably more upset than I should be but it's just annoying

So I’m not upset Lucifer got yet another card what I’m upset about is why right now ? There are seven brothers so of course one of them had to be repeated (I mean they could do a Solomon a card I won’t complain about that) but the timing is just ‘ugh’. 

Lucifer already got a UR+ the last and right now, just after a Lucifer centric event he gets another one? It’s not fair for both non-Luci Stan who suffer from the lack of their boys and the Luci stans who just have to constantly grind to get his cards. 

I personally did not loose DP, DV and even less real money over Lucifer’s event, the story was nice, the Luci missions were good and easy enough to get the SSR but I never even tried to get the UR because I did not love Lucifer enough for that but people who did probably lost a lot of DP (and maybe DV in the gacha) just to get him and right after that they just get another card. 

I don’t even think that’s a good marketing move honestly.

They already changed the order of the events (even if that did not fit with the story) before so why not do the same now  to equilibrate. Or why did they choose Lucifer when Asmo only has 10 Devilgram cards (whereas Lucifer has 15 soon to be 16 he really doesn’t need another card) to go with Belphie who has only 9 cards overall. Very few of their event cards even fitted the brother they chose, we never got Idols Levi/Asmo or Detective Satan. So the excuse of ‘maybe the event theme doesn’t fit’ would not ever work with what they did until now. 

So yeah Asmo would have been a better choice for everyone in the long run.

To finish I would still like to address again a very important fact :

DO NOT SEND HATE

You have every right to dislike Lucifer and feel tired of seeing him around all the time. However you have absolutely no right to send hate to someone who actually and genuinely likes Lucifer and/or doesn’t seem to mind the issue around his presence. Nothing, absolutely nothing justifies cyberbullying especially over something as trivial as a 2D character, if you feel the need to bully someone just for that it’s time to stop playing and get some fresh air and maybe a big slap of reality across your face.

If you want to vent out your frustration do so by posting it on your own blog or talk about it with other blogs but do it with respect. You can talk with someone who doesn’t share your opinion as long as you stay respectful to them and their opinions. Understand that not everyone has to think the same as you do. If you feel no problem with Lucifer and you want to express why to me, be my guest I will welcome with open arms as long as you understand that I may not share your opinion and that I will most likely show you my side of the problem just as you will do in your ask. 

As you can see none of my rant posts about ‘Lucifer and Favoritism’ are tagged why ? Because I believe in the saying ‘your freedom ends where someone else’s begin’ meaning that I feel the right to vent about it on my blog because that’s first and foremost my space BUT that doesn’t mean I want to annoy people in the main tag with this which is why I don’t tag. I’m not telling you to do the same of course this is my view about things, if you want to talk and feel like nobody is gonna listen without tags go ahead (but put a warning maybe) or just come to someone else’s blog to have a heart-to-heart discussion with them about it. It’s okay to feel frustrated just as much as it’s okay to feel...well...okay ?

I’m gonna say it here, thankfully I have the sweetest followers and it never happened to me so I can’t talk with entire certainty but if someone is blatantly disrespectful to me (especially on Anon, do not take someone’s safe space as a way to send hatred) and I don’t feel like I want to deal with this right now than this person can and will be blocked. And I’ll give this as a tip to everyone no matter what their opinion about the Lucifer matter or any other game matter. Don’t stress yourself if you feel you can’t handle it , just block and delete.

hello dear!! 💜💜💜 okay first and foremost never never feel like you have to apologize for sending long/multi-part asks/rambling/etc i adore getting asks and it is never something you should feel bad about!!

now, onto advice here...there are a lot of different options ofc for what you could do, and i won’t say that there’s one right answer or one thing that’s better than another. i am and always will be an advocate for communication and honesty in relationships/friendships/etc, but i think the first thing that needs to happen is you need to decide what route you want to go

the kind of key directions would ofc be to 1. explain your feelings and see if she feels the same 2. decide that you do Not want your current friendship with her to change and that you would rather move on from being interested in her without mentioning that you have feelings or 3. keep on the same path you’re currently on and sort of just...wait it out

uhhh i will say that option 3 is usually...one to avoid, if you can. specifically bc this will probably leave you feeling Bad and that’d be something that’s uhhh not good lmao

so say you want to try telling her how you feel, naturally this comes with the risk (as you mentioned) that she might not feel the same/that you might ruin the friendship by saying something about it, but unfortunately...there’s not really much of a way around that risk. that said, and keeping in mind that idk her or how she tends to act/react to certain situations, there are probably ways to go about this that mitigate some of the risks

if i were in your shoes and decided i wanted to go this route, i might genuinely try to keep it as lowkey and casual as possible, and try to avoid making it some Big Thing™. i’d probs just say smth like ‘hey y’know i think i might have feelings for u beyond just friendship, i wanted to just let you know in case you felt the same, but if not, no worries! it doesn’t change that i still want to be friends with you, and i obviously am not gonna act any differently toward you if you don’t feel the same.’ like. i would try to make it clear that 1. i wouldn’t want anything to change if she didn’t feel the same and 2. that i have no expectations of her

especially since it sounds like she’s still figuring out who she might be into, i might also add something like ‘i totally understand you’re still figuring stuff out, i don’t want you to feel any added pressure, just wanted to be open and honest with you’ (sometimes being open can help others open up too!)

now, that said, it sounds like you might be erring more on the side of wanting to move on and get over your feelings for her - which is totally valid! or, ofc, if you tell her and she’s like ‘yeah man sorry i’m just not into you!’ then u would naturally want to move on without making things uncomfy. in that event, i have one very major recommendation: distractions

i get it! it’s hard with quarantine to keep your mind occupied with other things/people/etc, but unfortunately, moving on isn’t something that can just be done, it requires practice and patience and time

one thing you can try is choosing something you already enjoy and finding an aspect of that to dive deeper into. for example, fan of a show/book? go search for fanart or fanfic if you’re into that! come up with an oc just for fun in whatever universe that piece of media is in, even if u never show it to anyone. pick a few blogs you’ve seen who post a lot and check them out, maybe follow if they seem cool! write fic or draw art, whether it be of an oc or existing characters or even just scenes or something! especially try this out even if you’ve never done either of those things before - and don’t get discouraged if those things aren’t perfect, just give them a shot and you might find something you really enjoy! grab a character or ship you usually don’t give much attention to/haven’t seen before and go check out their tag!

along this route, i speak a lot about fandom/fictional media bc that is what i personally use as an escape, but the same goes for activism/politics/languages/animals/other subjects/literally anything that is of interest to you! there is almost always an unexplored aspect of something that you can dive into. but! in the event that you can’t or don’t find anything interesting...

another thing is to find something new! a show you’ve heard about but never watched (or a show you’ve literally never heard of before but like just keeps popping up on ur netflix page), a book you’ve been putting off reading, a youtuber that seems p cool, a skill or language or craft or really, literally anything you haven’t done, and trying it. invest a bit of time and energy and just see where it takes you, let yourself think about this new thing and follow your line of curiosity. some of the best (and worst/dumbest/most cursed) ideas i’ve ever had came from just. randomly following the line of curiosity in my head and seeing where it takes me. hell, that’s what led to me writing fic in the first place!

and be forgiving of yourself too, don’t associate thoughts about this person with any kind of ‘oh shit i’m not supposed to be thinking about her’ kind of reactions, just gently redirect your thoughts to that one episode you just watched, or the question you have about the universe it exists in, or what crocheting pattern you want to try out first, etc etc etc. again, this kind of thing takes time and patience and won’t happen overnight, but you absolutely can get there!

the last ‘distraction’ i tend to go for is revisiting old interests! that fic or book you read a long time ago but still have/still have bookmarked as a fave? pick it back up and give it a reread - the cool thing about stories is that, over time, our perspectives change, and the way we experience the story and the emotions we feel over it change as well. same goes for old shows, esp if it’s been a minute! you can even do this in tandem with the first distraction type and dig back into fandoms you haven’t seen in a while!

it can be hard to remember sometimes - esp while we’re in quarantine! - that worlds exist outside our current interests and spheres of influence. whatever you decide to do, dear, just remember that things will be okay in the end (even if they’re not okay at first) so long as you try to do what’s right for you and be thoughtful and caring along the way. i hope this helped at least a little!

I agree with your thing about getting William antis and stans to chill. The real issue is that you can’t glorify him because he has done some REALLY horrible things, but it’s also annoying to me how people can make him a homophobic and racist simply because Sock Cawthorn hasn’t given him nearly enough chractization so people can be spouting off these headcanons and making saying you like the character as a ANTAGONIST (and not agreeing with any of his actions) a bad thing. Tbh I just- my whole thing is like- some people REALLY like William Afton as a character. Some people REALLY love hating on William Afton. Both of these people exist, so like... Get Over It. Y'all can co-exist.

Yeah don't romanticize his actions but also... He's a fictional character so you're not romanticizing him just by liking him. Like one example of romanticizing I've seen is when I saw someone go "Well I think William is canonically a good father who was actually really nice to his kids, that's why Michael wants to find him!" Like... Noooo Michael shows clear malice in his voice when talking about his Dad and even shows some signs of abuse and neglect in his actions... Y'see, THATS romanticizing because you're trying to downplay his canonical character and trying to "prove" he's actually a good guy just cuz ya like him. What ISNT romanticizing is "Oh yeah smelly bastard, love him! I hc him as [insert-identity-or-trait-here]!" Because like- you can like a fictional character but still realize they're a piece of SHIT in canon. Same with AUs and RP blogs like- it's okay if you want a William who ISNT being horrible every waking moment of his life, because you're not trying to downplay who he CANONICALLY is.

It's kinda like Disney villains! We KNOW they're bad and never try to argue that, but we can still like them! not very lmao. in his mainverse i usu dont ship him w anyone below thirty. but even if someones within his age range, if i met their character in a different verse or fandom ( or when i was rping a different character ) and associate them with being younger, i sometimes still cant stop thinking of them as a younger character and it squicks me a bit. a big part of that is discomfort of romanticizing ‘ older men ’ in particular so even if there was no significant age gap but the character comes off as teenagery or the relationship seems to have that kind of dynamic im also not into it

i do make exceptions when im rly comfortable with friends and might have developed it in a different light and we switch it for new verses. and i think in my head richters always older so when i rp him in younger verses im less picky about the upper age limit of his partners, depending [ but only like... by a lil percentage ]

oh and also for like synths or vampires or sosus or other odd age situations i tend to go by a mix of how old they look / act
