this is probably going to anger a few people. But I get super annoyed when fans get upset or pretend that Cardan's tail or Oak's hooves don’t exist. like dude…you’re reading a book that centered around folk lore. Ogres, pixies, mermaids, silkies. The Fae world is not the human world.

I think it's important to appreciate all aspects of a book's lore, and it's frustrating to see fans getting upset or denying the existence of certain elements. After all, if you're reading a book about fae creatures, you should expect to encounter all kinds of fantastical beings who are different from what we as humans usually see in our world.

Cardan's tail is a defining characteristic of his character, and it is quite significant to the story. So it’s embarrassing when fans ask Holly Black “Why the tail?” “Why the hooves?” “that’s weird” “I hate the tail” or “I’m gonna pretend that Cardan has no tail.” Like...*GASP* the amount of disrespect to Holly and her characters is mind-boggling to me. Please, stop, you’re embarrassing the fanbase. Did you not understand the fact that you picked up a fantasy book centered around the folk?? goblins, mermaids, redcaps, pixies, etc! like what did you expect? shut up and embrace these characters. If it's not to your liking, then read something else. but please stop overlooking aspects of these books just because they don’t fit your agenda. And this is only targeting fans who love the TFOTA series. Like please stop insulting Holly black with these embarrassing questions, go read Sarah J. Mass or Colleen Hoover, or something, please.

The Miller siblings had been preparing for the apocalypse long before it hit. It was always the plan for Naomi to provide medical support, Tommy to provide a place to stay, and Joel...well Joel was supposed to be the one to make sure they all made it out alive. 

Needless to say that when the actual apocalypse hit, nothing went according to plan. The three siblings, while together at the outbreak, found themselves in various parts of the country twenty years later. 

Tommy was nowhere to be found, Naomi had descended into something beyond madness, and Joel...well Joel was now carting a kid around who might be the answer to all of their problems. Whether or not he’ll live to see that though, is up to his little sister. And the barrel of her rifle he’s now staring down. 

Reunited with her family after twenty years of surviving on her own, Naomi is as lost as her namesake, and nearly twice as bitter. But somehow, she can tell that this little girl has made an impact on her perpetually serious and stoic older brother. 

He’s lighter...softer...kinder. 

Maybe Ellie Williams can make Naomi Miller softer again too.

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT THE PROP STORY PLEASE. OH GOSH GIVE ME ALL THE THEATER STORIES I WILL MONCH ON THEM

Ahahahaha ok. So. We are doing this crazy-ass play in high school. And we're a small co-op of homeschoolers ok, so tiny budget, we get all the dumb crappy shows that are only good because at least it's THEATRE and we put our heart and soul in. Most of us. Most of the time. Anyway.

The whole entire premise of this play is that a bunch of 1850? Ish people are traveling out west by railroad. Idk what decade this was like 5 years ago. So 12 of these people all have the exact. Same. Suitcase. And they get swapped. Chaos ensues.

We MADE 12 identical suitcases out of wood and this leathery cover and put glow-in-the-dark glue numbers on the tops where the audience couldn't see, and each number corresponded to a character and had various props inside it. We went over the choreography like a gazillion times to make sure that when cases got swapped, everyone walked away with the case needed to progress the plot. My poor brother lost his mind trying to keep track of all the cases and all the things inside the cases.

There's way too many sub-stories going on in this plot, but suffice it to say that included in the Identical Case Club are: a gang of showgirls, two secret agents, two jewel theives, and a spy/terrorist.

Secret Agent Senior has gastrointestinal problems and barely appears onstage. Secret Agent Junior... thinks that the showgirl costume he accidentally swapped for is his disguise, and finishes the show in a bright red dress, wig, and "heels" which were actually red tennis shoes, and lipstick. The jewels and government papers are SUPPOSED to end up together, meaning that the spy/terrorist is convicted of both crimes, and the jewel theives get to start an acting studio with the failing showgirls. One of the nights, when the GI-challenged Secret Agent is supposed to line up all the cases and go through them, holding up the contents for the audience, THE JEWELS AND PAPERS ARE MISSING

So he just stares into this empty-ass case and nods like "Ah yes, here they are. The crown jewels and the secret government papers that were stolen. Yep, theyre right here, take her away!" And we are all like WHY

So yeah thats the Prop Story. I also have a Cringe Story and an Improv Story, and a Community Show Story.
